The Explorers Model provides enrichment for 3rd grade students who demonstrate potential for high academic performance. It involves introductory lessons in the regular classroom taught by the AIG teacher, followed by flexible small group extension activities directed by the AIG teacher. Student participation does not guarantee future AIG identification. Student work is compiled into portfolios to inform the spring identification process. The goal is for teachers to work together supporting all students' growth.
