1. Experience Essay Sample
Crafting an essay on the topic of personal experiences can be both challenging and rewarding.
The difficulty lies not only in the need for introspection but also in the task of translating those
experiences into coherent and engaging prose. Delving into one's own life requires a delicate
balance of self-reflection and objectivity, which can be a formidable task.
The challenge is not merely recounting events but weaving them together in a meaningful
narrative that captures the essence of the experiences. It demands a careful consideration of the
significance of each event, the emotions associated with them, and the lessons learned. Striking
the right balance between personal reflection and broader implications can be a tightrope walk,
as the essay should not merely serve as a diary entry but offer insights that resonate with a
broader audience.
Moreover, there is the perpetual struggle of finding the right tone – one that is sincere and
authentic without veering into the realms of self-indulgence. It's a fine line between sharing
personal growth and sounding overly boastful or self-pitying. Constructing a compelling
narrative while staying true to the authenticity of one's experiences is a constant challenge.
Additionally, organizing the essay poses its own set of challenges. Deciding on a coherent
structure that ensures a smooth flow of events while maintaining the reader's interest can be a
daunting task. It requires a keen understanding of storytelling techniques and the ability to
connect seemingly disparate events into a unified and compelling whole.
In conclusion, composing an essay on personal experiences demands not only writing skill but
also a willingness to engage in introspection. It is a process that requires careful navigation
through the labyrinth of one's memories, emotions, and lessons learned. Despite the challenges,
successfully crafting such an essay can be a profoundly rewarding experience, allowing both the
writer and the reader to connect on a deeper level.

2. Analysis Of The Poem The Roses By William Faulkner
Save The Roses
In the short story A Rose for Emily , William Faulkner uses the rose as a symbol for
Emily and how she lived her life. Like humans, roses live a beautiful life and then
die when it s their time. While people like to save roses because they possess
sentimental value, Mrs. Emily tried to save her loved ones who passed away.
Some thought maybe she was just a woman you would give a rose. Which ever
reason, the way Mrs. Emily was raised gives reason for her weird and sickening
actions. Regardless of if she had a good excuse or not, Mrs. Emily s actions would
have never been allowed or overlooked in this day in age. In our society we carry
with us many different options, religions, friends, families, personalities and even
jobs that wouldn t allow these things to happen. All of the events in this short story
make me wonder What If this happened around my home, in my neighborhood ,
wouldn t everyone would be applied? There are so many people like Emily around
the world and the only reason we are aware of them is because people stepped up
and stopped looking the other way. Mrs. Emily Grierson, is definitely seen as a
strange character in any reader s opinion and a character analysis of Emily would
definitely go in countless directions. In the story the reader witnesses Mrs. Emily
having a hard time dealing with several of life s hardships. Emily s own self
depression, anxiety and her disconnection from the community is what brings most of
the events to

Edgar Allan Poe: Ligeia In the 19th century, America was still a very young
country; two prominent issues during this time period were women s suffrage and
slavery. The period from 1820 to 1865 was known as the American Renaissance due
to the literary explosion that happened in the United States during this time. America
was moving forward with creating their own literary landscape and forming a genre
of literature set apart from their English counterparts. Both females as well as
African Americans were part of the literary movement of this period. Literature
provided an outlet for issues with abolition and women s rights, although not as
highly received due to the cultural issues of the period. Edgar Allan Poewas a
detrimental part of this movement, and his stories raised important questions for the
reader about cultural norms. Ligeia is one of his stories that invokes many questions
about the meaning for the reader. Ligeia was first published in the Baltimore
American Museum in September 1838 (Baym and Levine). Ligeia is a story about a
womanwho so enthralls the nameless narrator with her intelligence and beauty, that
he never quite mourns her untimely death. The narrator describes Ligeia in great
detail, and is especially enraptured by her intelligence, stating: I have spoke of the
learning of Ligeia: it was immense such as I have never known in woman. In all the
classical tongues was she deeply proficient, and as far as my acquaintance extended

examine the success rate of the IPO and evaluate the stock performance since list date.
Abstract: The paper examines the IPO of Bharti Infratel Ltd., one of the top ten
IPOs by amount of capital raised in Indian history. The IPO is also interesting to
study as Bharti Infratel is one of the first telecom tower and infrastructure provider
companies in India and GTL Ltd. is the only other Indian company in this sector to
have gone public till date. The scope of the paper is to understand the rationale
behind raising capital with respect to internal factors as well as industry specific

Rationale for Bharti Infratel Ltd. IPO:
The Company was established in July 2007, as a spin off from Airtel, to provide
tower infrastructure services to telecom players in the market.
Strategy: The Company was looking at expanding its tower business to cater to not
only Airtel but also other players and hence needed to raise capital for the huge
capital expenditure required for building its tower infrastructure.
Industry Factors: Indian telecom network is the second largest in the world after
China. India has 864.72 Million wireless telephone connections and a tele density of
73.34% as on December 2012. (Dept. of Telecom, Government of India, 2012 2013)
The Company is expected to benefit from the increase in penetration of voice and
data services in India, which will drive the telecom companies demand for
additional towers. The tenancy ratio is expected to increase as telecom players roll
out 3G/4G on 2100 MHz and 2300 MHz bands.
Network expansion by India s leading telecom majors Bharti Airtel, Vodafone and
Idea Cellular Ltd will work in Bharti Infratel s favour. Large scale operations, first
mover advantage and pool sharing arrangement among the top three telecom majors
is expected to improve Bharti Infratel s operating leverage and

right to say no. She has the right to walk away and say no to the violinist, even if

physically rapes a woman, and she becomes pregnant, she has a right to an abortion
because she has not given the man or the fetus the right to use her body. Although the
abortion will kill the fetus, the woman s action is not unjust because the fetus did not
have the right to use her body. Now, if the woman voluntarily gave the violinist

8. Toxic Mold Essay
The subject of black mold gathered a lot of attention in the late 1990 s. Up to that
time, little attention had been given to this topic and there were few government
regulations regarding black mold.
According to the US EPA from their on line course (http://www.epa.gov/mold
/moldcourse/index.html), molds are organisms that may be found indoors and
outdoors. They are part of the natural environment and play an important role in the
environment by breaking down and digesting organic material, such as dead leaves.
Also called fungi or mildew, molds are neither plants nor animals; they are part of the
kingdom Fungi.
Evidence of mold in the home can be either visual or by odor, and evidence of an
indoor mold problem typically starts with ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
These factors include the degree or size of the mold colonies growing within a
residence, where they are located, and factors such as whether a person is allergic
to any particular type of mold. The more extensive the mold colony is, the higher
the dose to which you or a member of your family is exposed. Where one person
may have a severe reaction to a particular type of mold, another person may have
little or no reaction. Black mold has received the greater concern as some studies
have revealed more severe health effects when exposed to black mold.
The most effective response to mold is to first remove the source of moisture. Any
water leaks, such as roof or plumbing, should be repaired as soon as possible. In
some cases, fans are needed to help dry the affected areas. Once these areas are dry,
mold spores can be cleaned using a bleach mixture or other cleaning compounds
containing biocides specific to addressing mold contamination. It is important to
remember that personal protection should be used when cleaning mold
contamination to prevent breathing in or ingesting mold spores. It is also important
to note that any recurrence of water intrusion into a home or building will likely
result in return of the mold.
If there is a repeated or even a single exposure to mold, this may cause even non
sensitive people to become sensitive to mold. Allergic

The knowledge of genetic variability is a pre requisite to study the evolutionary
history of a species, as well as for other intraspecific variation, genetic resource
conservation etc. (Islam et al. 2007). Hence, genetic diversity and gene differentiation
through molecular marker analysis are essential for their taxonomic relationship
evaluation, conservation and sustainable utilization. For proper conservation
programme it is essential to characterize the plants genetically. Number of molecular
markers is being regularly used for studying genetic relations, population genetics,
genetic characterizations in different plant groups and cultivars. The molecular
markers are not influenced by the external environmental factor unlike that of
morphological markers and hence accurately testify the genetic relationship
between and among plant groups. Molecular markers like RAPD, ISSR and SSR are
being used regularly for genetic diversity assessment as a thorough knowledge of the
level and distribution of genetic variation is essential for conservation (Dreisigacker
et al. 2005; Sharma et al. 2008; Naik et al. 2010; Das et al. 2011). PCR based DNA
fingerprinting techniques like RAPD, ISSR and SSR are proven to be very

Medical malpractice cases are notoriously complex, requiring an expert opinion on
every phase of your treatment. It may be difficult even to determine whether you
have a valid case without the assistance of doctors and an experienced malpractice
attorney. Reynolds, Horne Survant, a law firm with a 40 year history of helping
Macon, GA, residents collect compensation for their injuries, suggests speaking to a
lawyer if you suspect you ve received substandard medical care.
No doctor, hospital, or health care worker is perfect, and even the most highly
trained, conscientious medical professional can make a mistake. However, the basis
of a medical malpractice claim is not whether a mistake was made but whether the
care you received lived up to the established standard for your condition. To make a
claim, your malpractice attorney must demonstrate that reasonable professionals in
the same field would have acted differently and deviations from that standard resulted
in physical harm.

12. Bartleby, the Scrivener Story Analysis
Have you ever seen a person so disconnected from society and from what is
considered to be normal that he or she made you question their sanity? If so, you
could relate with the lawyer in the story Bartleby, the Scrivener. In this story, the
narrator, who is a lawyer, has a simple man named Bartleby respond to a job opening
as a scrivener. Unbeknownst to the lawyer, Bartleby did not act in the manner the
lawyer would have expected. Bartleby is so outside of what is expected that it is
almost as if he had died and no longer had to live up to society s standards. In this
story, Bartleby is portrayed as a lifeless zombieand is alone with nowhere to go, no
one to see, nowhere to be, and no purpose to live for.
The first case on which ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
To copy someone else s work nonstop all day every day would get really tiring, but
the lawyer says Bartleby gorges himself on copying papers and documents. Usually
when someone gorges him or herself in something, it is something that they like or
enjoy. In Bartleby s case this is what he does, not because he enjoys it but because it s
all he has. This is evident when the lawyer says, He ran a day and night line, copying
by sun light and by candle light. (108) This job is all he had in his life.
Another case in which Bartleby shares similarities to that of a zombie is when he
repeats throughout the story, I prefer not to. No one would ever say these words to
his or her boss. That would be crazy, but Bartleby said these words multiple times to
the lawyer, his boss. This is similar to the characteristics of a zombie, because
zombies do not ever listen to anyone. They do what they want to do and nothing more.
Bartleby took the job as a scrivener to try and find a purpose for his life, but soon
after his boss abandons him, he ends up in jail. At this moment in his life he sees
that he truly has nothing. His quest for purpose as a scrivener has failed. He is at the
end of his life, not because he is old or sick physically, but because he has nothing to
live for. While in jail he refuses to eat and soon he dies. His reason for living died a
long time ago, though. His pursuit to be a scrivener was

Alan Bennett s A Cream Cracker Under the Settee Doris, the 75 year old house
proud woman is the main character, the only character in fact in Alan Bennett s

four scenes, each of which are demarcated by blackout. These four scenes show the

16. Lady Macbeth Internal Conflict Essay
In literature, internal conflict can be described as the struggle between two
conflicting forces inside a character s mind, the effect of which contributes to the
entire work as a whole. In the great Tragedy of Macbeth written by William
Shakespeare, Lady Macbeth is forced not only to confront her desire for power, but
also the line where she crosses the threshold of her own morality. Does Lady Macbeth
give in to her own deep seeded ambition, at the expense of her internal conscience
and well being? The answer is yes, and in the process of doing so, many lives are
lost, including her own, and that of her husband and sovereign king. Throughout
Macbeth, Lady Macbeth, in a dire conflictwith herself, must choose between murder,
lies, and deceit,... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
In order to emphasize this conflict and the contrast between Lady Macbeth and
other characters, Shakespeare presents the reader or audience with many other
characters placed in similar circumstances. These people facing the same internal
struggle as Lady Macbeth can be considered character foils, the most obvious of
which is Macbeth. Lady Macbeth begins this play being portrayed with an
unrealistic drive for power while Macbeth is driven, but indecisive and unsure.
However, toward the middle of the play, as Lady Macbeth begins her spiral of
guilt, becoming weaker and weaker, the opposite occurs for Macbeth. As she slowly
slips into her insanity, Macbeth becomes bolder, acting as her perfect inverse. But,
this isn t the only foil in the play. Shakespeare contrasts the actions of Lady Macbeth
to Banquo, Macduff, and Duncan, all men who were presented with huge
opportunities for power, but didn t let their greed override their sense of right and
wrong. It is here where conflict helps define one of the major themes of Macbeth;
when ambition is unchecked by moral restraints, it has the ability to destroy
everything and anything in its
17. My Best Experience
1,826 Days I met my best friends five years ago. A lot can happen in five years.
There are 1,826 days in five years. That means that over that span of time, the world
presents 1,826 fresh starts, each one containing a new experience. Every
experience brings its own array of emotions. You can learn a lot about someone by
the way that they react to new experiences. My friends and I have had our fair
share of new experiences together. We shared our experiences of our first day in
high school together, our first homecoming, having the freedom to drive, our first
relationship, our first heartbreak, family issues, even our first periods. Each one
was terrifying and exhilarating, and each one presented its own set of challenges.
What color dress should we get? Do you think we have enough gas to get there?
Should we believe him when he says it will only hurt a little? Was everything else
he said just a lie? Why does dad sleep on the couch now? How are we going to
make it through the day with these cramps? Every one of these questions we had to
answer our selves with nothing but the help of each other. We never found out the
right answers, and to this day we still don t know the right answers. We probably
never will. Although there probably is no right answer to any of the questions that
life presents us, searching for the answer has not only brought us closer together than
ever, it has also taught us things about ourselves and each other that we may have
never discovered. Since the
18. Jealousy And Paranoia In My Last Duchess By Robert
Browning
Jealousy and paranoia are not the way for a happy marriage. Any man who is
suspicious of his wife and her questionably promiscuous ways are bound to have
some issues to sort out. Some men if angry enough could go to extreme depths to stop
their wives from potentially going out with another man. Much like in Robert
Brownings poem My Last Duchess, the main character in the story does just that, his
rough tone throughout this poem showcases his hatred that builds up over time for
his own wife. He gets rid of his own wife from the extreme paranoia he had that she
was with other men. Also, the message that is portrayed throughout the poem that a
relationship built on distrust and lies can never end well. During Browning s poem,
the narrator s extreme jealousy is apparent throughout the entire poem. As stated in
the line by Browning, How such a glance came there; so not the first (426). This
implies that the husband is noticing other men pay attention to his wife. That there
have been multiple men that have been looking at her. This also implies that she
could be the type of wife who is flirtatious and likes the attention she is getting from
other men. It showcases the rage that starts to build up early on from her husband.
He feels betrayed as this is his wife and he does not want any other man trying to go
after her.
Throughout the poem the husband begins to get more and more suspicious of his
wife, showcasing the fact that he seems to want to
19. A Rumor Of War By Philip Caputo And Young
The Vietnam War was largely considered a failure, a waste of resources, time and
precious lives. It was simply a war that did not need to be fought. But in order to
combat the ever prevailing communist forces; the capitalists and in particular,
America, decided that Vietnam would be the land where these differences would
be disputed. Men were sent in to fight in this war and they came back with very
different experiences. As seen in both perspectives held in A Rumor of War by
Philip Caputo and in We were soldiersonce... and young by Hal Moore and Joseph
Galloway; they explore the varying perspectives and experienced seen and learnt
within war. Whereas in A Rumor of War , it tackles the consequences of being sent
into such harsh warfare, only because Philip Caputo saw the harsh reality firsthand
as he was a soldier in the war. The former, We were soldiers once... and young
tackles the glorification of war because it s not solely a soldier s account. A
journalist was in company of these men and as such details get skewed for the public
s perception. Regardless, both these books share a telling tale of the war in Vietnam
through their radically different views.
Firstly, it is important to establish the historical contexts of these two books. A
Rumor of War was published in 1977, two years after the end of the Vietnam War.
It was written by a soldier who served in the war. The period this describes is
immediately the post war era and the fallout faced by soldiers

the house, while the father in My Papa s Waltz comes in smelling of whiskey, raging
with fury.
In Those Winter Sundays the Dad is a loving character who wakes up on the day he
can sleep in to warm the house for his family.
The father in My Papa s Waltz returns smelling of whiskey and takes out his anger
upon his family.
One comes bringing warmth and comfort, the other ushers in chaos and mayhem.
The Dad comes forth out of love, yet the father comes forth out of rage and vexation.
When either of the male parents appears the surrounding area changes to represent
their character.
21. Cyberbullying And Its Effect On Children Essay
The internet is the single worldwide computer network that interconnects other
computer networks on which end user services, such as world wide web sites or data
archives, are located, enabling data and other information to be exchanged (Internet,
n.d.). This essay will identify and discuss one concern for users of the internet, which
is cyberbullying. Cyberbullying is carried out through cell phones, computers, e
mails and any other electronic devices or social media sites. Cyberbullying has the
potential to be devastating to children, adolescents and adults as it is being cruel to
others by sending or posting harmful material or engaging in other forms of social
aggression using the internet or other digital technologies (Morgan, 2013). Firstly,
this essay will look at the internet, what it is, when it came about, what it is used
for and the benefits and disadvantages of the internet. Secondly, I will discuss
cyberbullying, what it means, the concern, what is involved, and who is involved.
Thirdly, the effects of cyberbullying, why and how has it become a concern,
consequences for those involved, how bad the problem is, and will it continue to be
a growing concern unless something is done. And lastly, what is being done to
address the problem of cyberbullying, what is the government doing about the
problem, people and organizations that are or need to be involved, and what else
could be done.

22. Deforestation Of Latin American Forest
Deforestation presents in an abundance of ways, including fires, clear cutting for
agriculture, ranching and development, unsustainable logging for timber, and
degradation due to climate change. The foremost reason of deforestation in Latin
America is the requirement for food, fuel, shelter, and foreign exchange. Year on
year, a space of tropical forestthe size of Great Britain is converted from an area
equal to the size of Europe. Ever since 1950, according to the U.N. Food and
Agriculture Organization (FAO), half of the world s forests have disappeared.
Latin America has lost 37 percent of its tropical forests, says the FAO. As more
and more of Latin American forest are degraded, more and more detrimental effects
are being seen. Deforestation is changing a number of resources for tribal groups,
altering their way of life, temperatures are increasing at a dangerous rate because of
a buildup of carbon dioxidein the atmosphere, habitats and species such as plants and
wildlife are being annexed due to the destructive effects of deforestation.
Deforestation is inarguably helpful to supplying money to countries that sell the
products from the forest, but huge wealth being generated from the forests comes
with large scale environmental and social costs. The local residences are not
benefitting and the funds are being siphoned out of the region.

23. Witch Of Blackbird Pond Essay
Have you ever wondered what it would be like to be accused of being a witch? In the
1680s it was a common tactic to accuse a person of your disliking of being a witch.
The Witch of Blackbird Pond, by Elizabeth George Speare is a great account of what
it was like to live during this time. The book tells of a local Quaker being accused of
witchcraft, which leads to a trial and tons of heartbreak. An ordinary person should
not be allowed to accuse someone of being a witch without proper reasoning. It is
completely impartial and unfair to those who are accused and involved. The time
period this book addresses is within the 1680s, during this time religion was a main
factor in how someone carried out their daily life. This time period also contained
many other witch trials, including the most infamous one, The Salem Witch Trials.
This portion of history is important because without learning the effects of wrongly
accusing someone, the courts may currently be prosecuting innocent people based
solely off of someone s opinion or statement.

Puritanism is the belief in the reformation of the Church of England, they sought to

times, people of other religions were thought to be evil or witches just by the
religion they chose. This led to pitting religions against each other, which seems to
be the opposite of what the goal should be. Within this portion of history, the Salem
Witch Trials took place. The Salem Witch Trials was a series of hangings and
prosecutions of alleged witches. A group of young girls accused a multitude of

Seamus Heaney was born on April 13, 1939, on a farm in Castledawson,
County Derry, Northern Ireland, the eldest of eight children. In 1963, he began
teaching at St. Joseph s College in Belfast.
The first poem I ll be looking at is digging it was written in
1966.
The poem consists of 9 stanzas that vary between two lines and five lines in length.
There is no pattern to the stanzas, perhaps to reflect the idea that there is no pattern
or predictability to our memories. In the poem there is quite a variation in the
language e.g. the title is blunt. It is only when we have read the poem carefully that

He was also proud of his grandfather, who was so keen to work that he hardly
stopped when Heaney brought him some milk. To drink it, and then fell to right
away this show how hard he worked. His work was precise nicking and slicing neatly
and he was strong heaving sods over his shoulder.
Heaney does not explain exactly why he has no spade to follow men like them .
Does he think he is not physically strong enough for the work? Or does he think his
father and grandfather may not approve of him cultivating the land.
There is quite a lot of alliteration in digging e.g. curd cuts digging down and down
and the squelch and slap of soggy peat this gives the poem life it makes it more
interesting to read. The opening simile is striking Heaney s pen is snug as a gun . It
shows how perfectly the pen fits his hand, this shows how well suited Heaney is to
write. (In the fourth stanza, Heaney describes how perfectly his father s body is in
tune with the spade, showing how well suited he is to dig.) The gun image also
suggests the strength of the pen, it is a weapon for writing.
There is a writing technique called enjambment which means lines in a poem that run
on from on to another without a punctuation or pause.
There is an example of this between the second and third stanza. My father, digging.
I look down Till his straining rump among the flowerbeds Bends low, comes up

At the conclusion of the French and Indian War, Spain formally takes possession
of the Louisiana Colony as stipulated in the Treaty of Paris in 1763. France had
secretly transferred Louisiana to Spain in 1762 with the Treaty of Fountaineblue. By
the end of the French period of Louisiana, New Orleans was a commercially
prosperous, self sustaining city, trading all across the French commercial system
(Wall, p. 65). It had become a major port city for importing and exporting products.
With the transfer of rule from France to Spain, the Louisianacolony would
experience some social, political, cultural and economic consequences. The
provisions of the Treaty of Paris of 1763 surprised the colonists of Louisiana. New
Orleans residents were apprehensive and in some cases hostile. Few residents want
to be subject to Spanish rule. So much so that a group of wealthy merchants travel to

The Effects of Colonization in Conrad s, Achebe s and Orwell s Post Colonial
Works In the late 1800s, third world countries, primarily Africa, were infiltrated by
European colonizers. In Things Fall Apart, Heart of Darkness, and Shooting an
Elephant , we see the direct impact of the colonizers on the beliefs of the natives.
Post colonial literature centres mainly around how beliefs are questioned and
eventually altered; a transformation that can manifest in numerous ways as it is not
fixed. In each of the stories, a different form of colonization is elucidated. In Things
Fall Apart, the curiosity of the natives with regards to the culture of the europeans
leads to colonization. The oppression of the natives exerted by the europeans in
Heart of Darkness leads to colonization as well. Finally, in Shooting an Elephant ,
the roles of the colonizers and the colonized are reversed as it is the natives who take
on the position of the oppressors.
The naГЇve villagers of Umuofia in Things Fall Apart discover their resilience when
the white men infiltrate their territory like locusts , subtly presenting their culture to
the Ibo people who eventually adopt it as their own. This causes religious conflicts
and the natives begin questioning their own beliefs. And at last the locusts did

It sometimes takes a lifetime to change yourself, but changing in response to what
other people want, without considering your own needs could be much more
challenging. In a world without any flaws all people would be treated equally and
with the same kind of respect. On the other hand, in the world we live in, almost all
situations we find ourselves in have the potential to become a conflict. A Doll s
House, a play by Henrik Ibsen, is an exceptional example of a conflict that exists as
women are seen as possessions and not individuals by men. Ibsen uses the
Christmas tree, macaroons, tarantella, and the doll s house as symbols in A Doll s

From the beginning of A Doll s House, the reader can view Nora s desire for
independence through the symbol of the macaroons. As an illustration, Ibsen notes
in the stage directions in Act One, that Nora surreptitiously takes a packet of
macaroons out of her pocket and eats one or two. When her husband, Torvald, gets
home, Nora Puts the bag of macaroons into her pocket and wipes her mouth (Ibsen
4). Torvald has forbidden Nora eating macaroons because he thinks that her teeth
will decay, rot and become unattractive to him. This shows that he thinks she is
acting like a child, that she is not capable of making sound decisions and that she
needs someone like him to show her what the correct behavior is. Furthermore in
Act One, Nora asks Dr. Rank if he would like some macaroons. Dr. Rank replies
with What macaroons? I thought they were forbidden here. Then Nora replies with
Yes but these are some Christine gave me. After that Christine acts surprised and says
What I ЩЂЩЂ . (Ibsen 17) Nora is telling a lie when she explains to Dr. Rank that
Christine gave the macaroons to her and she eats them even though she s not
allowed to. This indicate s that Nora is disobedient to her husband and it
foreshadows that she has a desire to break away from his hold on her and from the
rules set by society. Thus, the demands set by men on women are recurring through
the symbol of macaroons.

1. Reduce the usage of water in residential areas (showerheads, lawn watering, etc etc)
No matter how many people are willing to make a difference, there will always be
those who will not do their part to help the environment. For example if water
prices go up, and people are fined for using too much water, those who are wealthy
will most likely not care. They will still be building large pools, and keeping their
lawns clean because they can and they want to. Another problem is that, although
water conservation is important, so is sanitation, there is only so many times we
can recycle water, before it becomes unsanitary. People also enjoy conveinice. Time
is money. Therefore, with their busy and chaotic lives, esspecially with families and
careers, people will be reluctant to change and adapt their livestyles to save the
environment. This will take time, and depend on whether or not people will
ultimiately want to put effort into making a difference.
2. Reduce fossil fuel energy usages, (60% of energy for moving water, reduce water
usage/movement = reduce water usage; promote alt energy sources)
The problem with this solution is that, even if we put a higher price on these
comapnie s water usage, and pollution , it is likely that it will only make a small
difference. In order to make money you must spend money. These huge powerplants
are usually powerful and weathly and can afford the tax and fines to pollute and use
more water. Their main priority is profit. Therefore,

Many people believe that fast food workers can live off of $9 an hour. How are
they supposed to survive off of $9 an hour when they need to pay rent, car
payments, and possibly take care of children? Research states $15 an hour is a living

criminal malice toward the victim of violence, which pertain to at least one of the
federal laws in regards to the different crimes of violence. As well as, verify that the
actions carried by the criminal conduct caused the death of the child in utero. Even
the possibility or even a strong likelihood that the criminal actions caused the death to
the child in utero would meet to the law requirements as proof that it was the cause
of the child s death (The Natural Rights to Life Committee, 2004).
Before the Public Law 108 212 was ever put in place, the unborn child was not

1.Filters
Every air conditioner has a grill like or shiny paper compartment upstream an
evaporator that filters dirt particles from getting to the cooling unit. With time,
filters are filled with dirt particles reducing airflow to the main system. This forces
the conditioner to work harder. In addition, a dirty filter is also a source of air
pollution into your house. You could have filters changed or cleaned every six
months or less depending on quality of outdoor area.
2.Air ducts
Air ducts transfer conditioned air across the building. When the ducts start leaking,
you stand to lose up to fifty percent of your energy. This is because the system tries
to compensate for the loss. Where air ducts pass to the outside, you need to have
them well insulated. A professional contractor can help free up to a half a ton of your

We have had many presidents throughout the time span of the United States. Some
good, some bad it takes a lot to be a good president. It takes passion, dedication, and
you have to be able to sway the people in your direction. Very few have
accomplished this task. Barack Obama is in my opinion the best president to have
touched down at the White House. Obama was able to get people of all ages,
genders, and races to vote for him and support him. He won the states of Florida
and Texas both times in his back to back election years. Obama was liked by many
people from all around he had foreign presidents, and politicians they all wanted to
meet with him face to face. Obama also had a lot of passion when it came to taking
on the role of
42. The Linguistic Results Of Language Contact
Through looking at patterns of social interaction of different languages it is easy to
predict the linguistic results of language contact. This could be seen through
multilingualism which is a result of language contact between multiple different
languages. Multilingualism can create diglossia which helps display the
multilingualismof a country or community and helps show it is useful for predicting
the results of language contact. Code switching in which people switch from one
language to another depending on the situation, helps show how social interaction
between speakers of different languages helps us predict the linguistic results of
language contact. Then there is dialectlevelling and language change which helps
show the beginning... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
All these reasons result in social interaction between speakers of different language,
which helps predict language contact may result in multilingualism. It is estimated
that over half of all countries are multilingual. An example of a multilingual society is
Switzerland with three main languages: French, German and Italian and each
language is dominant area of its own. John Edwards believes that everyone is
bilingual, even if someone can only speak or understand, he believes that you have
some command of a foreign tongue therefore there is no clear monolingual country.
Therefore multilingualism is useful in showing how the social interaction between
people of different languages help us predict the linguistic results of language contact
as it is an example of what happens when multiple languages exist and interact in the
same country.
In multilingual countries, diglossia occurs, which is the result of language contact
and social interaction. This therefore helps shows how the patterns of social
interaction between speakers of different languages predict results of language
contact as diglossia is a result of this and display the countries multilingualism.
Diglossia describes societal or institutionalised bilingualism, where two varieties are
required to cover all the community s domains. (Holmes, p.30) There are two
definitions of diglossia but it is Joshua Fishman s modification of Charles Ferguson s
definition that
43. The Errors And Its Effects On The New Way Of View Life
The errors I am most guilty of committing frequently would be, filtering out the
positive, unreal ideal, and labeling. I never know the terminology for these habits
until now. When reading the article, I could picture scenarios when I committed these
errors.
I have tendency of labeling everything! When I first moved to America, labeling
/grouping items, people and so on really helped to simplify this new journey. Over
the years I am realizing that that s a poor way of view life. I tend to label people,
places, and etc. with little or no interacting. The last year there has been a lot in the
media about police brutality and unfair treated for African American and minorities
in general. When watching the news, I would make a state like these police
officers are evil and out of control. , these officers are all racist and so on. Stating
comments like these are completely unfair. Putting all officers in the same category
is small minded and doesn t solve the problem facing us today. On top of that am
implanting those false beliefs onto my little brother.
Filtering out the positive was my second one. It doesn t matter how much I
accomplish or do, all I focus on is what I could of them better. The first week of the
semester I had to give a speech in a communication class. I was really nervous and
shy, but the speech went really well until the end. For some reason I looked and
froze, I then started to stutter on some of the words. Although the overall of the
speech went well

Life of Dan Millmin
It doesn t matter what you do, it only matters how well you do it. (Millmin) The
main ideas in Peaceful Warrior Is what Dan went through on his team, his love life
and accomplishing his goals. Dan is always worried about what is going on around
him and he always wants to put himself first. Therefore, Dan has a reputation on
himself, one of the main themes in Peaceful Warrior.
To begin with, Dan slept with Trever s girlfriend. Trever and Dan was supposed to
be very good friends, and he found out he was sleeping with his girlfriend. Dan told
him he had no idea of the situation. They got into an argument while at the bar, Dan
stood up and so did Trever and they were about to fight but two other guys came and
broke it up. That was the end of their friendship.

flip, he quotes Where am I? here What time is it? Now. (Peaceful Warrior) Dan does
a magnificent job while attempting to do his triple flip. His team, the judges and his
coach was very much amazed of what Dan did.
To sum it all up, Dan puts people in a position where he could not be trusted. He
put a reputation on himself and turned everyone against him. From the moment
Dan and Trever got into an argument at the bar Dan just knew that was the end of
their friendship. Dan gets into an accident and still pushed through it. Dan took
therapy for a few months and he became one of the star Olympics. It does not
matter what you do, it s how well you do it. (Peaceful Warrior) Dan has improved in
doing everything he does. He is also one of the top Olympics. Dan has also improved
some things in his life and by the end, he is a developed character of the
45. The word Wit has multiple definitions, most of which...
The word Wit has multiple definitions, most of which metaphysical poets use in their
distinctive poetic style. Definitions for wit include: the keen perception and cleverly
apt expression of those connections between ideas that awaken amusement and
pleasure (Dictionary.com 2014) and understanding, intelligence, or sagacity,
astuteness (Dictionary.com 2014).
In this paper I will unpack the main features of metaphysical poetry and explore the
relevance of wit and conceit in relation to John Donne s works. Furthermore, I will
endeavour to make connections between John Donne, the person and John Donne,
the poet. By analysing different poems I will draw on Donne s history, poetic style,
and era to ascertain whether Donne s use of wit is a ... Show more content on

In 1601, Donne s life s successes were reversed after secretly marrying Anne Moore
with whom he had twelve children. Their marriage ruined his career and he was
sent to prison with Samuel Brooke who married them. The Donne family lived in
poverty for ten years and was dependent on the charity of friends, family and
patrons. Donne s works reflects his life s journey where in the early years when he
was enjoying womanizing, travelling and building his career, he wrote his love
poems. However, during Donne s lean years, he wrote his divine poems and
elegies for patrons. During the early 1600 s after being forced to convert to
Anglicanism by King James I and the death of his wife Anne in 1617, Donne
continued to write poetry, notably his Holy Sonnets (1618) (Jokinen, 2006). He
was consumed with grief by the loss of his wife for whom he wrote the seventeenth
Holy Sonnet, Since she whom I lov d hath paid her last debt (Jokinen, 2006). In the
later years of his life Donne s work focused on death. His private meditations are
testimony to his mind set during this time of his life. Most notably is Meditation 17,
which include the immortal lines No man is an island and never send to know for
whom the bell tolls; It tolls for thee (Jokinen, 2006).
The works of John Donne continues to evoke discordance among literary critics.

The political situation in china is such that there was existed communism where the

Socio culture factors speak to the society of the general public that an association
works inside. They may incorporate demographics, age conveyance, populace
development rates, level of training, appropriation of riches and social classes, living
conditions and lifestyle. (Worthington and Britton, 2006)
With the change of living principles and the higher quest for material, more
individuals in China started to purchase extravagance for vanity (China hands, 2014).
Extravagance is seen as an image of societal position, and individuals want to buy
them for fulfilling their own particular vanity. This is a utilitarian age.
Regarding social culture elements, the society is not the same all through the entire
nation; the west has a tendency to gain 2.26 times more than specialists in the west of
the nation. Thusly areas of the organization s stores would be the key. (Grant, 2008)
It might be contended that demographic of china is such that there are numerous

47. Logo Movie Analysis
Logan: A Stand Out Superhero Movie
In the past few years, the superhero genre has risen into the movie industry. This
year alone, six superhero movies were released. The superhero genre is popular
among young adults. While big studios like Marvel and DC are competing for
audiences, many overlook Fox studio, which has been making critically acclaimed
superhero movies like the X Men way before the surge of the genre. The
competition between studios create an oversaturation making it hard for films like
Logan to stand, but it does this and more. Logan not only transcends the superhero
genre but also turns the superhero format on its head. Logan incorporates elements
found in the drama, road trip, and western genre and emphasizes emotion over
action. Set in a post apocalyptic future, Logon tells the story of a broken down
Wolverine in his older years, taking care of Charles. Despite his reluctance to
engage in any more conflicts, he is forced to escort Laura, a young girl, to safety.
Although Logan may be criticized for its one dimensional villains and overdone
story, director James Mangold, successfully crafted an excellent film that separates
itself from the genre through realistic characters and a simplistic plot.
Most of the time, Logan centralizes on its main characters, so it is understandable
that other characters are not as fleshed out. The villains came off as uninteresting
and forgettable. Boyd Holbrook played Donald Pierce, a generic villain with no
reason why he is

more often than students that have a fixed residency (Weber Lugg, 2008).

49. A Woman s Descent Into Madness
Shayna Pospisil
Professor Callis
English 112

A women s descent into madness Hamlet is praised as one of the greatest literary
works ever written but unlike the title, many characters play key roles in the
development of the story and his progression towards revenge induced madness. One
such character is Hamlet s lover Ophelia. She is a pivotal character in the
effectiveness as well as execution of the plot for revenge. One fact that is
commonly short sited is the relationship Ophelia has with Hamlet and how that
ultimately affects his road towards revenge. Without Ophelia there is no Hamlet.
Ophelia s innocence, lack of knowledge and ignorance, and weakness of the mind
all play a key role in not only her own but also Hamlet s demise. One of the most
talked about subjects in the play itself is Ophelia s innocence of purity. Because
Hamlet was going to Denmark a relationship with Ophelia would never work
therefore her father felt the intense need to protect her innocence. Any kind of
relationship would be detrimental to not only Ophelia but her family as well. If
Ophelia were to lose her purity before marriage she would no longer be desirable to
any other man because she would be used goods . That would reflect not only on
herself but on her family. Another interesting point is just how protective her brother
Laertes is of her virtue. In Act I, Laertes gives advice to Ophelia on the pitfalls of a
pre marital relationship in a lengthy speech that s geared
50. Character Relationships In Star Wars
Character relationships For stories that captivate the audiences, they need well
developed plots with characters who have interesting relationships with each other.
The relationships of the characters really drive the story because without the
important relationships, there will not be a story. The three points where it seems
that the relationships the characters have are important to the story would be in Star
Wars, alien s relationships with humans, and in The Day After Tomorrow. There are
many key relationships characters share in Star Wars that without them, the story
would actually not have been a hit. Three of the relationships are Luke and Darth
Vader, Luke and Han Solo, and Anakin and Obi won. Luke and Darth Vader have an
interesting relationship. Since Darth Vader is in fact Luke s father but at the same
time his enemy, it definitely draws the audience in to find out what happens next. It
also makes the final battle scene in Star Wars: Return of the Jedihigh tension to see
what will happen when Luke finally faces his father. Another relationship that
helps the story would be Luke and Han Solo. This character relationship is about
two friends. It is important to the story because Han Solo has gone out of his way
to make sure Luke is alive, such as when Luke was left out in the cold on Hoth. If
Han Solo did not have the urge to save his friend then there would be no story
without the main character. Also, Han Solo and Luke fight side by side to fight the
galaxy and

Eumenides , the third and final piece in Aeschylus s Oresteia trilogy, resumes the
tale where Choephoroe left it as Orestes is pursued by the vengeful Erinyes. The
primary plot point in Eumenides is the judgement Orestes undergoes for his act of
matricide, and the conflicting ideas of justice provided by the various parties that
are associated with it. Topic In Eumenides , the best idea of justice Argument is

(point) When Orestes and the Erinyes cannot resolve their disagreements on their
own, they turn to Athena, who chooses to establish a court of justice that will
resolve the trial of bloodshed as well as provide protection in the future for her
village, demonstrating the first and only sound idea of justice in the entire piece.
(evidence) People of Athens, hear my ordinance / At this first trial for bloodshed.
Evermore / This great tribunal shall abide in power....I establish / This great
tribunal to protect my people, (Aeschylus 362). (explanation 1) In this statement,
Athena officially declares the creation of a court of justice that will solve the
current issue of bloodshed as well as abide in power from then on to protect her
people. (ex 2)The creation of this court, which is not only created by a party
impartial to the issue but also composed of neutral judges, is a solution equally fair
to all parties, unlike those proposed by the Erinyes or Apollo. (ex 3) Thus, Athena
is the only character who demonstrates a reasonable idea of justice, and it is
consequentially the best idea of justice found in the piece. (transition) Thanks to this
idea of justice, the issue was finally resolved and the piece was able to avoid a tragic
52. Essay Lesson Before Dying Racism
Skindeep
Throughout history and in literature, Black has always been portrayed as evil,
whereas White has represented purity and light. These oversimplified stereotypes
of something so abstract as skin color has plagued our culture with prejudice and
hatred. Ernest E. Gaines, author of A Lesson Before Dying, tells the story of a
young black boy named Jefferson who is set to die for essentially being in the
wrong place at the wrong time, and a schoolteacher who is faced with the task of
making him a man . The novel takes place in Bayonne, Louisiana in the 1940 s, a
time when racism prospered. At this time in history people faced extreme prejudice
based on the color of their skin. Though slavery had been abolished almost eighty

Gaines reinforces this stereotype and the horrible way Blacks are treated by
portraying White people in this way.
The education system in Bayonne was also far from ideal, and Gaines shows the
injustices Black children face versus their white peers. The students are forced to
get down on their knees to use the benches as desks or do their work in their laps
(36). The students are so incredibly disadvantaged that they do not even have desks
to write on to do their work, whereas the White children presumably have a well
furnished school. This clear distinction between children s learning environments
shows just how bad the racism in Bayonne truly was. They are merely innocent
children and they are already treated differently from their white peers. Gaines
describes Grant s class to show readers the circumstances of the Black community
in comparison to the White school district. Additionally, the school year, according
to Grant is only, five months, and when the children are not needed in the field
(36). Even though slavery had been abolished almost a century prior, the Black
children were still deprived of a proper education due to the field work that they
were forced to complete. Grant also has to attempt to ration his supplies, because the
school board does not give him an adequate amount for the year and at one point tells

Nosocomial infections refers to infections acquired during hospitalization, with
symptoms usually occurring within forty eight hours after admission. The origin of
nosocomial infections can be attributed to the following: Bacterial flora already
present in the patient; Microorganisms from the environment through transmission
from: carriers colonized at admission, admitted to wards without undergoing
surveillance, isolation or eradication of the germ(s); patients who have developed the
infection but who have not been isolated;contact with contaminated objects and

The increase in infection related health activity is the result of a gradual increase
in specific risk factors such as antibiotic pressure and the greater complexity of
patients conditions. Despite their strong impact, both socially and economically,
the surveillance systems and programs currently deployed for the prevention of
nosocomial infections are quite dishomogeneous and, in many situations, do not
exist at all. There are two main discriminating factors in this critical situation. The
first relates to the chronic lack of funds for a serious policy of prevention,
particularly in terms of an effective screening process. The second concerns the
lack of accurate knowledge and widespread awareness on the part of health care
operators who are apparently unable to see the problem, in its complexity, as a
factor that impacts on all health care processes, be that at regional or hospital level.
Another crucial element to consider is the emergence of bacterial strains resistant to
antibiotics, given the widespread use of these drugs as a prophylactic or a
therapeutic regimen. Main Body i) How MRSA relates to the disease symptoms Non
specific resistance, to an invading organism, or pathogen, is a defence mechanism the
body employs to protect itself from attack (Tortora and Grabowski 1996).

Dodd Frank Wall Street Reform and Consumer Protection Act Abstract The Dodd
Frank Wall Street Reform and Consumer Protection Act is a massive piece of
financial reform legislation passed by the Obama administration in July 2010 as a
response to the financial crisis of 2008. Named after sponsors U.S. Senator
Christopher J. Dodd and U.S. Representative Barney Frank, the act s numerous
provisions, spelled out over roughly 2,300 pages, are being implemented over a
period of several years and are intended to decrease various risks in the U.S.
financial system. The law was initially proposed by the Obama administration in

To help make them more transparent, a clearinghouse of sorts similar to the stock

Dodd Frank left it up to the regulators to determine exactly the best way to put this

Securities and Exchange Commission and the Commodity Futures Trading
Commission approved a rule that would exempt some energy companies, hedge
funds and banks from derivative oversight. Insurance companies affected by Dodd

Department, which would identify insurance companies, like AIG, that create risk
to the entire system. AIG was caught in in a major liquidity crisis when its credit
ratings were downgraded in September 2008. The U.S. Federal Reserve Bank had to
step in and create an $85 billion emergency fund taxpayer money to help AIG meet
increased financial payouts. The new FIO will also gather information about the
insurance industry and make sure affordable insurance is available to
