were the building blocks to modern science. The people who made these revelations
were the scientists who first found out that the earth revolved around the sun, or that
the moon was full of holes and craters. There were many conflicts throughout this

One of the many people who contributed to the Scientific Revolution was Nicolaus
Copernicus. In 1543 he wrote and published On the Revolutions of the Heavenly
Spheres. This was his proposal of his theory of a sun centered universe, called a
heliocentric. He proposed that the sun was the center of the universe, not the earth,
as it was widely accepted to be at the time. He further said that the earth, along with
all the other planets in the solar system, revolved around the sun. In his predecessor s
theory, Claudius Ptolemy, it showed that the earth was the center of the universe, and
the sun and planets revolved around it. To show this, he made a geocentric model
depicting that theory, and it was widely accepted. Meanwhile, Copernicus made a
heliocentric model for his theory. It, naturally, showed his idea of a sun centered

this revolutionary theory. People simply didn t want to believe, after years and years

Hunt for the Wilderpeople builds on Waititi s drama/comedy combination and
further cements his auteur status. Wilderpeople is about an orphan boy who
moves from one foster family to another, generally being a delinquent. This causes
him to earn the title of a real bad egg. The majority of the film takes place as Ricky
Baker is on the run through the vast forest. While structurally different from Boy,
both films deal with coming of age, parents, and loneliness. Wilderpeople is
explicitly divided up into ten chapters and an epilogue, while still being a
somewhat causally driven film (Boy is more episodic). Since Wilderpeople relies
more on a causal narrative, it seems more like a standard Hollywood film at first
(especially with the action packed finale). But Waititi finds a way to make it his
own. The use of chapters allows him to jump ahead without losing the audience and
so he s able to tell a larger story with his signature zippy style. Adding onto that, he
again relies on montages to quickly tell bits and pieces of narrative in humorous ways

There are various areas within the teaching role that are important in order to aid
children through their development. There are three key principles; Planning,

On April 11th, 2017, I attended mass in the Blessed Edmund Chapel. Unlike other
weekday masses, this one was scheduled at 7 AM because of it being Holy

Skiing Is A Way Of Survival
As you stand at the top of a run and look down over the mountain; with twisting and
turning slopes, you feel at peace and connected with nature. This is what skiing can
do for you; however, it hasn t always been a way to get out and enjoy the mountain
air. As a matter of fact, skiing used to be mainly for survival.
Scientists have found rock art drawn by ancient civilizations in 8000 B.C. that
depict people skiing. Back in those days, it was the Scandinavians, Russians, and
Altay Mountain folk that were using some form of skis to travel vast distances and
hunt; thus skiing was a way of survival. It wasn t until about the 1860 s that
Americans in Sierra Nevada started to use skis to race and have fun. After that, well
the rest is history skiing is now a significant leisure activity around the world.
However, there are important points in the history of skiing that made a considerable
difference in the ski world we know today.
It is still being debated where skiing originated, but it most likely the Tuvan s who
developed skiing within the Altay Mountains of China. Altay skis were made of
wood with one end curled upward, there were straps for your feet, and horsehide
on the bottoms. The horse hair made the skis grip when walking uphill, but then
