Examples Of Narcissism In The Alchemist
When Coelho included a different version of the story, Narcissus, in the prologue, he hinted that
one of the themes in the Alchemist would be man s relationship with nature. This was his way of
introducing the concept that all things are the manifestation of one thing only. And that when we
recognize that and begin to work with nature, that we will achieve great things. The lake, which
Coelho wrote about, in the Narcissus story supports this by saying, I weep for Narcissus, but I
never noticed that Narcissus was beautiful. I weep because, each time he knelt beside my banks, I
could see, in the depths of his eyes, my own beauty reflected. After reading the book I came to
believe that there is an element of narcissism in following one s own... Show more content on

The Englishman and Santiago are both looking for something, the alchemist and treasure. But the
difference is that the boy is searching by observing his surrounding and the Englishman is
searching by reading the books. Though they might not agree with each other s ways they still
respect each other and are good friends. As Santiago tells himself, Everyone has his or her own
way of learning things. The Alchemist chose to befriend Santiago instead of the Englishman
because Santiago examined the desert and the people of the caravan. The Englishman was
immersed in his books, not bothering to contemplate the desert until Santiago advised him to. The
alchemist even says, He has other things to do first. But he s on the right track. He has begun to try
to understand the desert. As for the two hawks and the falcon they represent the understanding of
nature and what it tells us through symbols. They also reveal the knowledge of how the world and
all of its inhabitants communicate and ultimately work together to find their personal legend. As far
as the fact that they are dead, it is my belief that the alchemist sent his falcon to kill them because

Myasthenia Gravis Case Analysis
Myasthenia Gravis is an autoimmune disease of the neuromuscular junction which usually causes
muscle weakness and other problems. Some of the people who have Myasthenia Gravis experience
respiratory failures. It s very crucial that these patients stay away from interventions that might
worsen the disease process. In 2014 a 62 year old woman with a history of metastatic thymic
carcinoma and myasthenia graviscame to the emergency room in Houston, Texas. For two days this
lady had been experiencing weakness, difficulty swallowing, and shortness of breath. They admitted
her into the intensive care unit because she had the symptoms of a myasthenia crisis. That evening
they ran a test and there was a substantial decrease in the patient s vital capacity. The patient
wouldn t agree to be intubated or ventilated. On the third day in the ICU the patient was granted a
trial of non invasive ventilation, but this did not improve her condition. So finally she agreed to be
intubated... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
She felt as if her symptoms of difficulty swallowing, weakness, and hoarseness were getting
worse. Her vision was also getting worse. She was given another plasma transfusion and the
symptoms were resolved. She was transferred from the ICU at day 7 and released 3 days later.
I actually understood this article a lot more than the others minus the parts where it would talk
about certain medications and certain amounts of the medication. I feel as if it s very sad that we
can t cure myasthenia gravis. I feel bad that people have to live with this and there s nothing they
can do besides taking medication daily for the rest of their life unless they want to have flare ups
and symptoms. This disease would affect everyday life especially if you were having a flare up.
You would feel as if you couldn t walk or as if you were too heavy to walk. Back whenever I lived
in Manila I grew up very closely to my neighbors Mr. Walker and Mrs. Julie.

Examine one of the ways in which the technological changes and/or economic conditions of the
1980s and 1990s helped to shape the popular music of these decades.
Intro
There have been many technological advances throughout that past four decades within music
production and many have argued that without the boom of the digital culture the popular music of
today not be as it is today. This paper will examine an extremely important technological change of
the nineteen eighties and nineteen nineties that has helped shape popular music of today.
The first section of this paper will examine or describe how the creation of the Fairlight Computer

The ability to manipulate a visual image of sound gave the creator more control of the sound thus
making way for more creativity. It used a distinctive computer screen and a light pen a computer
screen as display and a light pen system to navigate the screen, this made sound manipulation much
easier compared to it s rival, the digital synthesizer.
Many number one recording artists such as Kate Bush, Peter Gabriel and Stevie Wonder used
the early Fairlight for their recordings. In her publication Popular Music Brabazon draws our
attention to the use of the CMI on two chart topping recordings of the early eighties. Peter
Gabriel s Start that was released in May 1980 featured a string sample of the early fairlight and
bush used a breaking glass sample for her recording of Babooshka . By this time the use of
samples was ever growing within popular music.
Although the samples were not of high quality but they were definitely enough and composers
were able to make a number of incredible songs and movie scores. The composers working on the
movie Torn used the fairlight to created a majority of the sounds and music used in the film.
By 1982 the Fairlight series 2 was upgraded and improved, a real time composer interface (RTC)

Reflection On Light And How Light Bendss In The Whitehouse
This following science lab reflection is about light and how it bends while it travels from one
thing to another. Our main goal for this lab was to discover how light bends. But the problem is
that we have to break in and get past laser security in the Whitehouse. I hypothesised that, if we can
bend the lightaround us then we will be able to get past the laser security. If we shine water at the
light then the light will bend better and we will be able to get past the laser security and into the
Whitehouse. In this lab we used the mediums: air, water, and glass. We also used prisms, such as a
circle, square, and triangle. These materials all helped us figure out, which was the best to bend the
light with. What we did to find these results was through a computer simulation to test the way the
light bends with others objects and prisms. This is a short summary about what we did and used for
this Science Lab. When conducting this Lab we found many interesting findings. A few findings
were that when the light from the air hit the water the angle of refractiondecreased to 22o compared
to the angle of incident/reflectionof 30o. The opposite occurred when the light from the water hit
the air. The angle of refraction increased drastically to 42o when still compared at 30o angle of
incident/reflection. With the light from air to the glass, the angle of refraction decreased a lot to
19o with the 30o angle of reflection/incident. Things I can say after these results are that the

Describe and explain the different forms of church governance in Zimbabwe
Governance is a set of policies, power and structure by which the rights, powers and privileges of
people are processed and protected. The term government refers to the management, administration,
rule or direction, control, command, authority or leadership which processes and sees to the
implementation of these policies. The Church government is set to manage and control the
privileges of the children of God e.g. prosperity, healing etc. Simplified, it is the organization pattern
by which the church movement or congregation rules, controls or directs itself. Even in the church

In this form, authority is vested on the congregation as an independent body with no person or
organization above it except Christ. It emphasizes on democracy and the leaders are selected
solemnly based on relationship to the congregation. Their structure consists of Pastors, Elders and
then deacons. The leaders responsibility is to implement the decisions which would have been
carried out by the church body. The system is based on Act 15:1 2 And certain men which came
down from Judea taught the brethren, and said, Except ye be circumcised after the manner of
Moses, ye cannot be saved. When therefore Paul and Barnabas had no small dissension and
disputation with them, they determined that Paul and Barnabas, and certain other of them, should
go up to Jerusalem unto the apostles and elders about this question. They say the church is the one
that sent this delegation to Jerusalem to enquire on the issue of circumcision. They therefore
believe that the congregation runs the church by appointing and sending elders. They also use Act
6:3 Wherefore, brethren, look ye out among you seven men of honest report, full of the Holy Ghost
and wisdom, whom we may appoint over this business.
They say it says choose among yourselves , ignoring the rest of the scripture and the context in
which it fits. Their power to discipline as a congregation is based on 1Co 5:4 5 In the name of our

Summary Of The Rich Brother By Tobias Wolff
In the short story The Rich Brother, Tobias Wolff presents two brother who seem as polar
opposites. One brother is wealthy and successful while the other brother is poor and alone. With
the many examples of how Donald is reliant on Pete, it seems Pete in no way needs Donald.
However, throughout the story Tobias Wolff
illustrates that even though Donald and Pete are
brothers who are completely different from one another, both depend highly on each other.
In the short story, Donald s reliance on Pete is more obvious than Pete s reliance on Donald. Pete
is more successful than Donald; Pete has family, friends, and wealth. While Donald at first glance
has nothing. Donald relies on his brother to pull him out of tough predicaments. Pete pays ... Show

However, Pete s need for his brother is not as recognizable as Donald s need for Pete. In the
story, Pete has an addiction to the superficial, materialistic things life has to offer. When
questioned what Pete dreams about he says, Sex and money. Mostly money. A nightmare is
when I dream I don t have any. Even with the prosperity Pete has he is still not satisfied with
riches he has; forcing him to seek after other sources of pleasure, such as skydiving. Pete relies
on Donald to show him the true meaning of life. Donald focuses his life on
relationships, religion, and helping others, things that disgusts Pete. Pete s dependency on Donald
is symbolised through Pete s dream: There was something wrong with me, and you were helping
out. Taking care of me. Just the two of us. I don t know where everyone else was supposed to be.
Pete left it at that. He didn t tell tell Donald that in this dream he was blind. The dream symbolises
Pete s blindness to the meaning in life. Donald shows Pete the meaning to life, something Pete is
blind to. Without Donald, Pete would be unable to find true happiness in life as he would
continuously search for the superficial, temporal things life

The Stamp Act
The Stamp Act 9/24/15 The Stamp Act was an important act introduced by the British Prime
Minister George Grenville that was then passed in March 1765 by the British Parliament. The
purpose was to raise money for national debt of Britain after the Seven Years War and Parliament
needed means to help fund expensive costs of keeping troops inside the colonies. The act levied a
tax on legal documents, almanacs, newspapers, and nearly every other form of paper used in the
colonies. The British Government felt that the colonies were the primary reason of the military
presence and should pay a portion of the expense. The American colonies did not take kindly to this
matter. Colonists all over greatly opposed the Stamp Act not only because... Show more content on

Israeli-Palestinian Conflict Pros And Cons
The Israeli Palestinian conflict has been a tragedy, a clash between one very powerful, very
convincing, very painful claim over this land and another no less powerful, no less convincing
claim, (Oz, Amos). This conflict has been one that has lasted multiple decades and continues to be a
hotbed for controversial opinions and arguments. One pressing issue in today s time is whether or
not the United States should continue to support what seems like a never ending conflict. The
United States Government should continue to pressure Israelinto a two state solution in order to
reap the benefits, which include the creation of democratic nations in the Middle East, improved
relations with bordering countries, and a decrease in violence.

As the world becomes more industrialized and interdependent, the need for good relations in
areas increases, especially with countries near Israel. The Middle East is becoming a more
prominent player in global relations today, making their alliance extremely valuable to those
who have it. The United States relationship with countries in the Middle East is a pressing topic
as terrorism in this region grows. By pressuring Israel into creating two states, the United States
can help decrease the hostile relations between them and countries Palestine is allied with, which
include Iran, Iraq, and Afghanistan among many other arab nations. According to Chas W.
Freeman of the Middle East Policy Council, our main conflict with the arab states stems from
our alliance and support of Israel while they continue to oppress Palestinians. Thus, two states
would lead to a relaxation in these relations. As discussed in the paragraph above, two states
would also lead to the creation of the first two democracies in the Middle East. Through shared
political views, relations in the area will improve as well. Therefore, the pressure of the United
States to create two states will boost relations with countries in the Middle East, which is vital in

how they choose to act in a situation. In Arthur Miller s The Crucible; the character of John
Proctor is an honorable man despite having committed wrongful acts. He was able to redeem
himself through acts that is considered courageous, such as when he refuses to contribute to the lie

he regrets being a dishonest man. John Proctor showed his good nature many times throughout the

this he would dishonor his name, but he deems it as the only solution because people were falling
into Abigail s manipulation., John Proctor also fights for everyone not just his wife. John Proctor

Emperor Of China Self Portrait Of Kanghsi
The Emperor of China: Self Portrait of Kanghsi is a collection of the personal memoirs and
writings of the Qing Emperor Kangxi who ruled and expanded China during the late 17th century.
Translated into English by Jonathan D. Spence, Emperor of China provides a glimpse into the life
of China s longest reigning emperor during the beginning Chinas last ruling dynasty. Kangxi
records his thoughts to provide guidance to future generations of Qing emperors. The Emperor s
writings served as evidence of his life acting in accordance with both Chinese principles and
Manchuprinciples. Emperor of Chinadisplays Emperor Kangxi s philosophies on ruling through
humility and the struggles of duality he faced in maintaining the military tradition of his Manchu
ancestors while at the same time conforming to the Confucian principles of his Chinese court.

Hurricane Katrina Duties
The failures of government response to Hurricane Katrina was a result of the aggregation of the
local and federal governments lacking proper communication with each other, the levels of
government not fulfilling their duties in a state of emergency, and the lack of personal
responsibility that each level of government took upon themselves in the crisis. On a local level,
Mayor Ray Nagin did not mobilize evacuation via bussing, nor did he ensure that adequate
amounts of food and water were stocked in shelters, despite these both being primarily mayoral
duties in a state of emergency. Former FEMA director Michael Brown accused Mayor Nagin of
not having enough of a sense of urgency in the situation, thus causing a delay in aid to New Orleans.
Federally, FEMA s execution of its duties was entirely lacking, mostly due to poor leadership and
a deficiency of action by former FEMA director Michael Brown. Brown did not carry out his duties

The Nature Of God With A Physical Presence
The nature of God with a physical presence was also Christian dogma during the New Testament
times. Early Christian theology, like its close cousin, Jewish theology, was built upon a literal
reading of the Hebrew sacred writings (aka Old Testament scriptures) with its habitual use of direct
anthropomorphisms. The early Christians in antiquity, like the Jews, were quite comfortable with
this anthropomorphist Godin whose image and likeness man was created. This would not be the
case for long, for within a few centuries the Christians would feel a need to modify this theological
concept by adopting, adapting and merging Greek philosophical elements.
By the time of the third century theologian, Origen, the concept of God as espoused by Greek
philosophers prevailed in the then current Christian theology.
The Jews indeed, but also some of our own people, supposed that God should be understood as a
man, that is, adorned with human members and human appearance. But the philosophers despise
these stories as fabulous and formed in the likeness of poetic fictions.
However, as noted above, there were a few Christians, who like the Jews of ancient times, still
believed in an anthropomorphic God. There are some still today. Benjamin D. Sommer draws a
distinction in the theological implications between the Jewish and Christian concepts of an
anthropological deity.
For the Tanakh, for rabbinic literature, and for important strands in Jewish mysticism, God has
always been a corporeal

globalization. She analyzes trends in globalization and the hypothesis of the race to the bottom as
well as economic openness and if government are truly in control of capital markets. Joseph Stiglitz
however analyzes globalization in a historical and current point of view and how the management
of globalization has comparatively helped developed nations extensively more than developing/poor
nations. Stiglitz s supports his argument regarding the poor management of globalization by
arguing that monopoly power created by patents and the TRIPs agreement has resulted in an unfair
global market and is overall very critical of trade agreements. This paper will summarize and
critically analyze these two readings and why both texts make strong a valid point in regards to the
management of globalization and its effect on the global environment. Furthermore this paper will
argue why the texts support the claim that globalization has not only prospered but also resulted in
the end of the nation state because of the increasing interdependence between countries all around
the world. Globalization has

Brown Sugar: The third ingredient you need to make Biko is brown sugar. While brown sugar is
essentially white sugar with added molasses it is healthier than white sugar and also has a different
texture. Although unprocessed sugar is also brown in color, usually brown sugar refers to the one
with added molasses.

Michael Shermer s Explanation Of Patterns
Humans make use of patterns every day, they are necessary for our society to function, and on a
larger scale, allow us to find consistency within the universe. An idea raised Michael Shermer is that
Humans are pattern seeking animals and we are adept at finding patterns whether they exist or not .
Fundamentally, patterns are a specific and consistent relationship between knowledge, so a number
patternis just a specific arrangement of numbers. To further explore Shermer s statement, it is
important to define what it means for a pattern to exist. One possible interpretation is that an
existing pattern is a pattern that is inherently found within the universe, regardless of human
thought or influence. Consequently, a pattern that exists must be shared knowledge, meaning that
the pattern is agreed upon and perceived as the same for every human. For example, one person
may see a shape of an... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
One of the more commonly known patterns are number sequences, these types of patterns are
numbers placed in a certain order where there is a relationship between each consecutive number.
These patterns the result of the laws of the universe and exist regardless of human influence, they
are agreed upon by most people and therefore can be said to exist. On the other hand, there are
also patterns that are based on probability which are not as objective as number sequences. While
it can be argued that probability patterns do exist within the universe, it can also be argued that they
are only perceived to exist. This is especially prevalent in scientific and human experiments where
they use mathematical formulas to justify whether there is a pattern between different things.
While patterns are consistent, it does not necessarily mean that a pattern will always be correct,
which raises questions like, To what extent can we rely on uncertain knowledge? and How can
knowledge ever be

The Potential Hazards Of The South China Sea
As the tension and activities of competing countries increase in the South China Sea this in turn has
increased potential implications for its environment. One major implication is the potential hazards
that are threatening coral reefs and other components of the local marine ecology within that region.
The once untouched ecosystem is at danger because of aggressive engagements of ocean floors in
search of natural resources. Since 2013, China has orchestrated reclamation constructions on reefs
in the disputed Spratly Islandswith goals of transforming them into artificial islands where they
have built airbases and ports . As a result, this has destroyed the environment that was originally
there. In addition to China, Vietnam, Taiwan,... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
As result of the battle, China gained control over the Parcel Islands .
After a period of peace, disputes once again transpired in 1988 and 1995. In 2002, China and the
Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN) reached an agreement to keep peace within all
parties tied in with the South China Sea as they were to refrain from taking any action on the
uninhabited island chains located in the Sea. This Declaration of Conduct kept the region peaceful
up until 2009 when China publicly claimed territory on the entire South China Sea . As the tension
intensified so did China s aggressive behavior, as they made it clear in 2012 and 2013 that legal
proceedings against them were not going to make a difference on their goal to dominate the region.
In 2013, China began the operations to transform these uninhabited islands into military
infrastructures . In the last two years counting up to today, China s rapid island building has
continued despite publicly claiming that they have halted all construction. This is where the United
States enters the situation as they have called on China to shut down all reclamation efforts on the
Spratly Islands where China has transformed six coral reefs (Subi Reef, Gaven Reef, Huges Reef,
Johnson Reef, Mischief Reef, Cuarteron Reef) into naval bases, airstrips, and weapon and
surveillance facilities .

A Research Study On Bilingual Infants
Literature Infants learn different languages by being exposed to them from their surroundings.
Infants are capable of learning not just one language but multiple languages. This capability is
because infants differentiate languages by using auditory and visual cues. Studies have shown that
bilingual infants follow a different path than monolingual infants. Bosch and Sebastian Galles
(2003) tested infants from 4 to 12 months who spoke Spanish and Catalan on vowels that are
phonemic to infants who know Catalan. Infants who were 8 months and monolinguals
differentiated the vowels while bilinguals took till they were 12 months. Meanwhile, Burns,

Both groups reported the amount of time the infants listened to their native languages. Later the
groups were sent to a laboratory and went through the MEG, magnetoencephalography; defined by
window than polarity, procedure. The groups that tested successfully had to fill out a questionnaire.
The infants were kept controlled by checking if they had any ear infections and were born full
term. The MEG machine is used to measure the infant s phonetic sensitivity of English and Spanish.
Socioeconomic status, SES, was checked. Some participants were from families with high SES and
the other portion were from families with low SES. It was not consistent and could affect the
results. Language exposure was also being checked. Whether the child had enough exposure to
English and Spanish resulted if the infants could continue to be in the experiment. The monolingual
infants were exposed to English while the bilingual infants were exposed to both languages This
study is a case control. Case control explores what makes a group different from the others. The
point of this research is to check the difference among both monolingual and bilingual infants. By
using the study design, the researchers explored the issue, but it carries some difficulties. It is
difficult to know what factors are responsible for the outcomes/results. The study design is
appropriate because it compares both bilingual and monolingual infants. Results and Conclusion

Four Corporate Strategies Of HTC Corporation
The organization that I picked is HTC Corporation which is a multinational firm situated in Taiwan.
The organization was built up in the year 1997 where it began as a unique equipment producer and
design maker, designing and fabricating devices, for example, cell phones and tablets (Anonymous,
2016). For the previous years, the organization has been in operation; it is driven by their inventive
thought which has empowered it to make an upper hand over different electronics organizations.
The principle business opponents for HTC Corporation are Samsung Corporation which makes and
markets distinctive assortments of electronics like Smartphones, Televisions, Laptops and Tablets;
Apple Company specializes on iPhones and Techno Company. These organizations have offered a

For as long as the earth has circled the sun, masses of men have continued to rise and lower
themselves dutifully towards sky and towards earth. Lips have continued to eloquently part,
countenancing sounds that spill out in a fluent mГ©lange of euphoric expressions and sorrows.
Pages have continued to sound as countless, weathered finger tips root through those same

nearer to the parables with which they align their moral compass . And despite all this time, all

Stages Of Alcoholism Leading Cirrhosis Of The Liver Essay
Stages of Alcoholism Leading to Cirrhosis of the Liver
Mikal Norvell
Fortis Institute, Dr. Bassant
Abstract
This paper describes, briefly, the stages of the alcoholism as it slowly damages the liver, and
finally results in permanent, irreversible damage called cirrhosis. Excessive alcohol consumption,
or alcoholism is the number one cause of cirrhosis in the U.S. Though tolerance levels are
different for each individual, daily consumption of more than ten alcoholic drinks over ten or more
years contribute to a higher risk of cirrhosis. The first part of the paper will describe the liver and
what the liver does. I will also discuss different levels of drinking leading to alcoholism. Finally,
the paper will also discuss the deterioration levels leading to the signs and symptoms of cirrhosis.
Keywords: Cirrhosis, a chronic disease of the liver marked by degeneration of cells, inflammation,
and fibrous thickening of tissue. It is typically a result of alcoholism or hepatitis.
Stages of Alcoholism Leading to Cirrhosis of the Liver
The liver is the upper part of the abdomen and it the only organ is the body that can regenerate
itself, which is why a person can donate part of their liver to another. What does a liver do? The
liver stores glycogen, a.k.a. fuel, for the body. It helps process fats and proteins from digested
food. The liver makes a protein that enables blood to clot. It processes some oral medications, and

A Brief Note On Workforce Injury Or Death
Workforce injury or death In the construction business, health and safety is the most concerning
risk. Working on construction site is very physically demanding job and also very dangerous. There
are many sources of potential danger from injuries caused by working with the tools/material
/equipment, to the fatal accidents caused by negligence. Examples of such an events: falls from
heights, slips from scaffolding, electrocutions, falling objects, explosions, overexertion, vehicle
related accidents... пѓ To control these risks, safety standards have to be met at all times and
monitored frequently. All employees should be trained and informed about Health Safety
standards; supervisors have to be responsible for ensuring safety measures are in place on every
construction site and if something goes wrong, they should be held accountable. Accident and
injury rates should be carefully monitored on regular basis. Examples of simple but crucial
safety rules include: work areas should be clear of obstructions; slippery surfaces should be
reported immediately; safety net should be installed to prevent objects from falling on workers;
all workers should be provided with electrical safety training; visibly mark the area for vehicles
only. As mentioned in the annual report 2015, good practice has already been established on our

Examples Of Racism In America
Racism is the belief that all members of each race possess characteristics or abilities specific to
that race, especially so as to distinguish it as inferior or superior to another race or races. Racism in
America started about the 15th century between the Americans and Africans, and it is seen in
various cities today. This was due to the Atlantic Slave trade which was the transportation of
enslaved Africans to the New World, America. As a result, the class discrimination
perceived here is
an ideal example of racism. Therefore, bigotry can comprise of a variety of problems, harsh

Apartheid consists of a bountiful amount of issues and disagreements. Racism was arduous as it

Descartes
In the Meditations, Rene Descartes attempts to doubt everything that is possible to doubt. His

It is not, however, possible that he could be deceived about his existence or his nature as a

Environmental Microbiology
With so much advertising for various antibacterial products, many people have gotten the
impression that all bacteria are harmful and that maybe the Earth would be better off if all bacteria
were eliminated. What would life be like in a bacteria free world? Bacteria help decay materials
and put vitamins and minerals, and gases into the atmosphere. Without them the world would be
able to produce little food. Bacteria are woven into the food chain. Without them, nutrients would
not be recycled in soils as efficiently as they are. Our own digestion of food would not work so
well without bacteria that lives in our stomach. Without bacteria, there would be no life on this ...

For example, buttermilk results from the souring of low fat milk by lactic acid. The flavor is due
to substances such as diacetyl and acetaldehyde, which are produced by species of Streptococcus,
Leuconostoc, and Lactobacillus as they grow. A fermented milk product with a pudding like
consistency is yogurt. Two bacteria, Streptococcus thermophilus and Lactobacillus bulgaricus, are
essential to its production. After the milk has been heated to achieve evaporation, the bacteria are
added, and the condensed milk is set aside at a warm temperature to produce the yogurt. Sour
cream is produced in a similar way, using cream as a starter material. Soft cheeses, such as
Camembert, do not spoil rapidly. Camembert cheese is a product of the growth of the fungus
Penicillium camemberti. Hard cheeses have less water and are ripened with bacteria or fungi.
Swiss cheese is ripened by various bacteria, including species of Propionibacterium, which
produces gas holes in the cheese. Bleu cheese is produced by Penicillium roqueforti, which
produces veins within the cheese as it grows. Other fermented foods. Other fermented foods are
also the product of microbial action. Sauerkraut, for example is produced by Leuconostoc and
Lactobacillus species growing within shredded cabbage. Cucumbers are fermented by these same
microorganisms to produce pickles. Bread. Bread is still another product of microbial action. Flour,
water, salt, and yeast are used

Bass Pro Argumentative Essay
This quote said by Henry David Thoreau, I took a walk in the woods and came out taller than
the trees. This explains the effects from being in the wilderness and the outdoors will affect your
life. A outdoorsman also has to have the right equipment for what they will be doing. The
outdoors has been a big part of my life, and has impacted how I live. To get equipment to go
hunting and fish you need to go to a sporting goods store. The biggest two are Cabela s and Bass
Pro. Cabela s and Bass Pro are similar and different in many ways including equipment, clothing,
and locations.
The first subject is how they are different and the same with the equipment they sell. They both sell
about every outdoor product you can think of. The stores mainly ... Show more content on

The location has the biggest impact on why they sell different products. Cabela s stores are mostly
located in the northwest region of the United States, so for this reason that is why they sell more
hunting than fishing equipment. They do have stores all across the country, but are mostly in this
area. Bass Pro is mostly based out of the southeast corner of the United States. The reason for this
is because bass fishing and fishing in general is more popular in this area of the country. This is
also why they sell sea fishing equipment, and not as much hunting equipment. The two companies
have stores all over the midwest. This is the area where hunting, and fishing is more popular and
practiced.
Cabela s and Bass Pro are similar and different in many ways including equipment, clothing, and
locations. Now that I have told you how they are the same and different, I hope that the next time
you go to either of the stores you take into consideration what I have talked about. Even though
they are both owned by the same company I hope you pick the one that fits your needs and
products you want. Make sure when you go into the outdoors you have the right equipment. Just
like Thoreau said, I took a walk in the woods... The outdoors can impact your life, and make you

Descriptive Essay On Anxiety
Generalized anxiety is a disorder in which a person has normally tense, uneasy, and feels very on
edge more often than not. I have always had a bit on anxiety with being near and/or around
people, I have never felt completely comfortable around anyone and often feel uneasy and
nervous about everything, but during my last year of middle school my anxiety got
tremendously worse with the stress of school. During my 8th grade year I was going to a
college prep academy that came with an incredible amount of stress for a thirteen year old. As
the school year went on I would get more and more homework and assignments. On average, I
would come home with about four hours of homework that would be due the next day,
eventually the stress and overwhelming amount of work became hard to handle and I started
becoming more and more worrisome and uncomfortable in public. As the school year went on I
just became extremely nervous and uncomfortable about everything, scared to move in front of
people, scared to get up and sharpen a pencil, my hands were more often than not sweaty and
gross feeling which just made me even more nervous because what if for some reason someone
would need to touch my hand. I felt uncomfortable around friends that I had known and gone to
school with for years. I eventually stopped going out at all and just stayed home, I wouldn t go out
to eat with my parents nor would I go out with friends or anything. I started becoming very
secluded from everyone. Eventually my

Examples Of Narcissism In The Alchemist When Coelho included a different version of the story, Narcissus, in the prologue, he hinted that one of the themes in the Alchemist would be man s relationship with nature. This was his way of introducing the concept that all things are the manifestation of one thing only. And that when we recognize that and begin to work with nature, that we will achieve great things. The lake, which Coelho wrote about, in the Narcissus story supports this by saying, I weep for Narcissus, but I never noticed that Narcissus was beautiful. I weep because, each time he knelt beside my banks, I could see, in the depths of his eyes, my own beauty reflected. After reading the book I came to believe that there is an element of narcissism in following one s own... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... But the difference is that the boy is searching by observing his surrounding and the Englishman is searching by reading the books. Though they might not agree with each other s ways they still respect each other and are good friends. As Santiago tells himself, Everyone has his or her own way of learning things. The Alchemist chose to befriend Santiago instead of the Englishman because Santiago examined the desert and the people of the caravan. The Englishman was immersed in his books, not bothering to contemplate the desert until Santiago advised him to. The alchemist even says, He has other things to do first. But he s on the right track. He has begun to try to understand the desert. As for the two hawks and the falcon they represent the understanding of nature and what it tells us through symbols. They also reveal the knowledge of how the world and all of its inhabitants communicate and ultimately work together to find their personal legend. As far as the fact that they are dead, it is my belief that the alchemist sent his falcon to kill them because Santiago read their ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Some of the people who have Myasthenia Gravis experience respiratory failures. It s very crucial that these patients stay away from interventions that might worsen the disease process. In 2014 a 62 year old woman with a history of metastatic thymic carcinoma and myasthenia graviscame to the emergency room in Houston, Texas. For two days this lady had been experiencing weakness, difficulty swallowing, and shortness of breath. Many number one recording artists such as Kate Bush, Peter Gabriel and Stevie Wonder used the early Fairlight for their recordings. In her publication Popular Music Brabazon draws our attention to the use of the CMI on two chart topping recordings of the early eighties. Peter Gabriel s Start that was released in May 1980 featured a string sample of the early fairlight and bush used a breaking glass sample for her recording of Babooshka . By this time the use of samples was ever growing within popular music. Although the samples were not of high quality but they were definitely enough and composers were able to make a number of incredible songs and movie scores. • 9. Reflection On Light And How Light Bendss In The Whitehouse This following science lab reflection is about light and how it bends while it travels from one thing to another. Our main goal for this lab was to discover how light bends. But the problem is that we have to break in and get past laser security in the Whitehouse. I hypothesised that, if we can bend the lightaround us then we will be able to get past the laser security. If we shine water at the light then the light will bend better and we will be able to get past the laser security and into the Whitehouse. In this lab we used the mediums: air, water, and glass. We also used prisms, such as a circle, square, and triangle. These materials all helped us figure out, which was the best to bend the light with. What we did to find these results was through a computer simulation to test the way the light bends with others objects and prisms. This is a short summary about what we did and used for this Science Lab. When conducting this Lab we found many interesting findings. A few findings were that when the light from the air hit the water the angle of refractiondecreased to 22o compared to the angle of incident/reflectionof 30o. The opposite occurred when the light from the water hit the air. The angle of refraction increased drastically to 42o when still compared at 30o angle of incident/reflection. With the light from air to the glass, the angle of refraction decreased a lot to 19o with the 30o angle of reflection/incident. Things I can say after these results are that the ... In this form, authority is vested on the congregation as an independent body with no person or organization above it except Christ. It emphasizes on democracy and the leaders are selected solemnly based on relationship to the congregation. Their structure consists of Pastors, Elders and then deacons. The leaders responsibility is to implement the decisions which would have been carried out by the church body. The system is based on Act 15:1 2 And certain men which came down from Judea taught the brethren, and said, Except ye be circumcised after the manner of Moses, ye cannot be saved. When therefore Paul and Barnabas had no small dissension and disputation with them, they determined that Paul and Barnabas, and certain other of them, should go up to Jerusalem unto the apostles and elders about this question. They say the church is the one that sent this delegation to Jerusalem to enquire on the issue of circumcision. They therefore believe that the congregation runs the church by appointing and sending elders. One brother is wealthy and successful while the other brother is poor and alone. With the many examples of how Donald is reliant on Pete, it seems Pete in no way needs Donald. However, throughout the story Tobias Wolff illustrates that even though Donald and Pete are brothers who are completely different from one another, both depend highly on each other. In the short story, Donald s reliance on Pete is more obvious than Pete s reliance on Donald. Pete is more successful than Donald; Pete has family, friends, and wealth. The Middle East is becoming a more prominent player in global relations today, making their alliance extremely valuable to those who have it. By pressuring Israel into creating two states, the United States can help decrease the hostile relations between them and countries Palestine is allied with, which include Iran, Iraq, and Afghanistan among many other arab nations. According to Chas W. Freeman of the Middle East Policy Council, our main conflict with the arab states stems from our alliance and support of Israel while they continue to oppress Palestinians. Thus, two states would lead to a relaxation in these relations. As discussed in the paragraph above, two states would also lead to the creation of the first two democracies in the Middle East. On a local level, Mayor Ray Nagin did not mobilize evacuation via bussing, nor did he ensure that adequate amounts of food and water were stocked in shelters, despite these both being primarily mayoral duties in a state of emergency. Early Christian theology, like its close cousin, Jewish theology, was built upon a literal reading of the Hebrew sacred writings (aka Old Testament scriptures) with its habitual use of direct anthropomorphisms. The early Christians in antiquity, like the Jews, were quite comfortable with this anthropomorphist Godin whose image and likeness man was created. This would not be the case for long, for within a few centuries the Christians would feel a need to modify this theological concept by adopting, adapting and merging Greek philosophical elements. By the time of the third century theologian, Origen, the concept of God as espoused by Greek philosophers prevailed in the then current Christian theology. The Jews indeed, but also some of our own people, supposed that God should be understood as a man, that is, adorned with human members and human appearance. But the philosophers despise these stories as fabulous and formed in the likeness of poetic fictions. However, as noted above, there were a few Christians, who like the Jews of ancient times, still believed in an anthropomorphic God. There are some still today. Benjamin D. Sommer draws a distinction in the theological implications between the Jewish and Christian concepts of an anthropological deity. She analyzes trends in globalization and the hypothesis of the race to the bottom as well as economic openness and if government are truly in control of capital markets. Joseph Stiglitz however analyzes globalization in a historical and current point of view and how the management of globalization has comparatively helped developed nations extensively more than developing/poor nations. Stiglitz s supports his argument regarding the poor management of globalization by arguing that monopoly power created by patents and the TRIPs agreement has resulted in an unfair global market and is overall very critical of trade agreements. Michael Shermer s Explanation Of Patterns Humans make use of patterns every day, they are necessary for our society to function, and on a larger scale, allow us to find consistency within the universe. An idea raised Michael Shermer is that Humans are pattern seeking animals and we are adept at finding patterns whether they exist or not . Fundamentally, patterns are a specific and consistent relationship between knowledge, so a number patternis just a specific arrangement of numbers. To further explore Shermer s statement, it is important to define what it means for a pattern to exist. One possible interpretation is that an existing pattern is a pattern that is inherently found within the universe, regardless of human thought or influence. Consequently, a pattern that exists must be shared knowledge, meaning that the pattern is agreed upon and perceived as the same for every human. For example, one person may see a shape of an... On the other hand, there are also patterns that are based on probability which are not as objective as number sequences. While it can be argued that probability patterns do exist within the universe, it can also be argued that they are only perceived to exist. This is especially prevalent in scientific and human experiments where they use mathematical formulas to justify whether there is a pattern between different things. • 37. The Muslim Mosque, A Hindu Temple Of The Sun, Masses Of... For as long as the earth has circled the sun, masses of men have continued to rise and lower themselves dutifully towards sky and towards earth. Lips have continued to eloquently part, countenancing sounds that spill out in a fluent mГ©lange of euphoric expressions and sorrows. Pages have continued to sound as countless, weathered finger tips root through those same yellowing linen books that have procured an aroma of a school house touched by a familiar vanillin scent. Vibrations of beating hearts have continued to thrive as the mass have drawn nearer to the parables with which they align their moral compass . And despite all this time, all masses have continued to look to their opus from which they draw their mirages of the world. Despite all hardships, they continue to look to author who asks from them, simply one thing: simply compassion. In this house of worship, A Muslim mosque, a Catholic church, a Jewish temple, a Hindu mandir, or perhaps something entirely different, one can find man s similarity through all his differences. The one aspect across all borders of religion, regality, and country that unites man is compassion. Compassion is the want of health for a fellow man, the want and, better yet, the desire for benevolence. Compassion is the understanding of the struggle a fellow mortal faces as he stumbles blindly in search of enlightenment. Compassion is caring. And, we have all been bred to care. Finally, the paper will also discuss the deterioration levels leading to the signs and symptoms of cirrhosis. Keywords: Cirrhosis, a chronic disease of the liver marked by degeneration of cells, inflammation, and fibrous thickening of tissue. It is typically a result of alcoholism or hepatitis. He goes on to say that it is possible that all knowledge of external objects, including his body, could be false as the result of the actions of an evil demon. It is not, however, possible that he could be deceived about his existence or his nature as a thinking thing. This is true because if he can be deceived about anything, then he can be certain, as he is a thinking thing. Even corporeal objects, such as his body, are known much more distinctly through the mind than through the body. nbsp; nbsp; nbsp; nbsp; nbsp; This is where the wax argument comes into play. All the properties of the piece of wax that we perceive with the senses change as the wax melts. This is true as well of its primary properties, such as shape, extension and size. Yet the wax remains the same piece of wax as it melts. We know the wax through our mind and judgement, not through our senses or imagination. Therefore, every act of clear and distinct knowledge of corporeal matter also provides even more certain evidence for the existence of Descartes as a thinking thing.
