Pros And Disadvantages Of Routing
Networks are usually very humungous which makes the implementation of routing
algorithms really tough. Hence there is a need to divide the networks into
autonomous systems. AS are groups of networks and routers which are under the
control of a single admin. Routing can broadly be divided into interior and exterior
routingbased on whether routing is inside an autonomous system or not.
There are three major/popular routing protocols being used.
Interior:
Routing Information Protocol (RIP)
Open Shortest Path First Protocol (OSPF)
Exterior
Border Gateway Protocol (BGP)
Routing Information Protocol (RIP) is the simplest and commonly used routing
protocol in IP networks. It makes use of distance vector routing technique and UDP
for transport ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Disadvantages:
It has slow convergence. If a change is made in a network, it might take really long
for the router to learn about it if they are not close by. To prevent this max hop is
introduced.
It is too simple in terms of metric
It might be unstable and leads to count to infinity problem. (loops of packets)
Scalability is an issue
Open Shortest Path First: OSPF is an interior routing protocol and is base on link
state routing. It is comparatively more recent and efficient than the widely used
RIP. It also makes use of autonomous systems. It breaks the autonomous systems
into one more level that is areas. It does not make use of only hop count as metric.
Metric based on type of service like minimum delay (rtt), maximum throughput,
reliability, etc. It is competitively more scalable than the RIP. It minimizes delay and
maximizes throughput. It makes use of IP and has a value in the IP Header which is
a 8 bit protocol field.

The Theories And Theories Of Leadership
Leadership is being defined in many ways and by many psychologists. It can be
defined in terms of group processes, personality, power, goal accomplishment, and
interaction, differentiation in role, initiation of structure, and combination of two or
more of these. Its involves various dimensions like planning, organizing, directing,
controlling. In general the leaders with the leadershipqualities will earn respect from
other members of the team and they together follow the leader to achieve the goals.
And in general as taking into considering the organization, manger can be a leader
but not necessary that the leader could be a manger
Leadership Theory:
Among the various theories, two theories of leadership are discussed below to get a
brief understanding of the concept.
1.Trait Theories: The trait theory of leadership focuses on identifying different
personality traits and characteristics that are linked to successful leadership across a
variety of situations. The different traits are extraversion, intelligent, self confidence,
honesty, being smart; these are the factors which help in creating a great leader.
However, this theory was not very successful as it s narrow in subject who does not
guarantee effective and efficiency.
2.Behavioural theories: The name itself tells that the theory forces on the behavioural
approach which has a relation between the motivation, effectiveness, and efficiency
and in turn influences the leadership styles in an individual.
The Concept Of Brain Drain, Brain Gain And Brain Drain
Brain drain, brain gain and brain circulation. These have been terms that have often
been used simultaneously when discussing the movement of students, academics,
and scholars as they left their homes to study abroad, when they remained in their
host countries, and when they continued to work both at home and internationally.
Brian circulation has been the term used to describe the movement and mobility of
higher educated people around the globe. It has been an increasing phenomenon
that has affected the socio economic and socio cultural progress of a society and a
country, as well as the world (Teferra, 2005). Ozden and Schiff (2005) along with
Stark et al. (1997) discussed the concept of brain circulation, a term they used in

Individuals gained from the study and the society gained from the knowledge and
skills those students needed. This was matched by the time and money that was spent
on them during their schooling and job training. Saxenian (2002, 2005) suggested
that there were huge advantages to brain circulation because repatriates could be in
their home country while they continued to maintain social and professional ties with
their host country Scholars argued repeatedly about the effects of brain drain, brain
gain, and brain circulation upon various countries involved in their studies. Some
would question the authenticity of this circulation of talent (Harvey 2012; Saxenian,
2006). Harvey (2012) referenced Kapur and McHale (2005), who worried that the
highest ranking scholars from Indian universities emigrated from India to the United
States in higher numbers than those scholars who graduated with lesser degrees from
lesser universities. In other words, they argued that the very top professionals tended
to be the ones to leave. Others would say that this was not negative because
innovation tended to flow to and from the host country and increased the resources
and knowledge in the home country (Harvey, 2012). Perna et al. (2014) looked at the
cost benefits for an emerging economy as scholars returned from international study.
In Kazakhstan, a government sponsored scholarship program (the Bolashak program)

The Four Types Of Social Stratification
Division is something that has been around since the beginning of time. No one is
alike, and there are many things that differentiate us. We all know our place in the
world and what groups we fit into; this is because of social stratification.
Stratification is how society organizes itself. (Larkin, 2015). Social stratification
ranks people based on their wealth, power, race, gender, education, etc. (Larkin,
2015). Over time there has seemed to be four main systems of stratification. Within
these systems, there are also more divisions based on race, education, and gender.
Social stratification has historically been made up of four main systems: slavery,
caste, estate, and class (Larkin, 2015). Each system has its own mobility, with
slavery being the most closed and class the most open. Slavery was due to either
heredity misfortune or military conquest (Larkin, 2015). Slavery was unique from
the other systems because slaves were treated as the property of their owners.
Additionally, the owner had the right, although immoral, to treat his slaves in any
manner he/she desired. This has at times allowed innocent people to be extremely
mistreated. The slaves may have all be treated equal or some may have been
treated better or worse; it truly depended on both the owner and the slaves. Social
mobility was very limited in slavery. There was almost no opportunity for a slave
to earn freedom (Larkin, 2015). The caste system, found in India, places an
individual in the caste which they are born into; and one must remain in that caste.
India consists of four castes: priests, warriors, merchants, and artisans/farmers
(Larkin, 2015). There is also another group that is considered so low they are not
even in the system; these unfortunate people are called the untouchables. Each group
is to marry only within their caste, work within their caste, and socialize within their
caste. The caste system s social mobility used to be quite strict; however, due to
technology and urbanization, the mobility has grown (Larkin, 2015). This change is
beginning to allow for slightly more social mobility, unlike slavery where there is
little hope. The estate system prevailed during the Middle Ages in Europe.
Landownership was the organizing

An Analysis of the Characters Relationship Development in Roman Holiday from
the Perspective of Politeness Principle 1. Introduction Roman Holiday is a classical
romance comedy film in which a reporter falls in love with a runaway European
princess. As a very influential film, Roman Holiday makes a deep impression on the
audience with its funny plots and expressive dialogues. However, most of the critics
attribute its success to the plot arrangement and actors performance. As far as the
author concern, the film dialogues also plays an important role. Moreover, many
scholars, who are engaged in linguistic studies, begin to apply linguistic approach to
analyze film dialogues, the results are interesting and inspiring. Some critics... Show

positive and negative sub maxims: Minimize the cost to other. Maximize the

What Are The Main Features Of Local Government Act
1979
Provincial Local Government Ordinance 1979
This period marked the second wave of local government reform a military regime.
The system of local government introduced in 1979 by General Zia ul Haq was the
most representative in nature since independence. For the first time in the history of
Pakistan, elections to all local councils in both rural and urban areas were held
simultaneously on the basis of adult franchise and under the aegis of independent
provincial election authorities.
Features of Provincial Local Government Ordinance:
The special features of the 1979 local government system can be described as follows:

Optional Functions:
Planning, development and maintenance of playgrounds, parks, graveyards and

Planning, development and maintenance of public welfare centers, orphan houses
and organizations. Analysis:
The local bodies were made independent from the bureaucracy under the Local
Government Ordinance of 1979.
The local bodies were vested with administrative, judicial and financial powers to
make them effective institutions.
They were authorized to get loans from national and international Banks to complete
their plans for the people s development.
The elections of local governments were held on non party basis.
The local governments were dependent upon the provinces from senior appointments
to the request for more resources or permission to increase taxes and rates.
The budgets of the local governments were also to be approved by the provincial
governments. It would not be unfair to say that the provinces used to control the local
governments

salomon v salomon
Introduction This essay will examine the legal standing of the doctrine of separate
legal personality as it was developed in Salomon v. Salomon Co Ltd [1897] AC 22.
Even though this doctrine is the stone head of the English company common law,
the courts introduced several exceptions which undermined the veil of
incorporation . The exceptions were firstly introduced in the mid 60s by Lord
Denning in Littlewoods Mail Order Stores Ltd. V IRC [1969], and allowed the
court to lift the veil and hold the shareholders liable for the company s actions. The
main reason for the courts to lift the veil is where the shareholders had abused the
privileges of limited liability and incorporation. Corporate personality and
incorporation... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The most important effect of limited liability is that the shareholders are not liable
for any debts as the company is a separate legal identity. In the case of bankruptcy,
members personal assets are protected and out of reach by the company s creditors.
The Salomon case safeguarded member s personal property and offered members a
security as they can have earnings from the company while they are protected.
However, this protection offered by the Court to company s members made the
company s creditors skeptical, since, in some cases the company was used to
defraud the creditors and the state. The courts had to balance the protection to
shareholders and the injustice against the creditors. Accordingly, the courts had to
be ready to ignore the doctrine of separate legal personality and lift the veil of
incorporation in cases where the company is incorporated in order to defraud.
Case of Littlewoods Mail Order Stores Ltd V Inland Revenue Commissioners and
the statement of Lord Denning Lord Denning was the precursor of lifting the veil
of incorporation. Specifically, in the case Littlewoods Mail Order Stores Ltd. V IRC

low price (ВЈ23444). Later the value of money changed and after 22 years

This is a bright orange book that the woman carries around with her and to every

continuity of care. Having access to the information of their pregnancy means
women get more control and fell more fulfilled with the care they receive.
(WILKINSON and MILLER, 2007) The records can be used as a reference source,
to help women have a better understanding and to feel well informed, reassured,
and confident in collaborating with health professionals as explanations were

to growing attention on continuity of care and women centred care models.

A Major Measure Of Biological Fitness
A major measure of biological fitness in a population is the fecundity, or reproductive
success rate, of female organisms (Berger et al, 2008). For insects in particular many
factors influence the number of eggs produced during the lifetime of a female. One
key factor in insect reproduction is the ambient environmental temperature. Insects
are ectothermic and therefore rely on their environment to provide the heat needed to
carry out normal reproductive functions. Ambient heat dependence for insects has
been thought to have a greater effect on fertility success than other contributing
factors such as increased female body size. Studies by Berger and others have shown
that the European speckled wood butterfly, Pararge aegeria, can only reproduce in the
temperature range of 8В°C and 14 В°C even when controlling for larger female body
sizes. The findings of the study suggest that temperature can limit insectreproduction
in two specific ways. First, the development of the egg may be inhibited by
temperature ranges that are outside the preferred range of the insect. Second, the
female s range of time she is able to lay eggs is reduced when the temperature of the
immediate environment is not conducive to the survival of her offspring (Berger et
al, 2008). Thus, temperature is a paramount factor when considering the success rate
of many insect species.
Other studies have shown the importance of temperature on reproductive success of
certain insects and the implications that

The Importance Of Marketing Channels And Distribution
What is the importance of Marketing channels and distribution? Marketing channels
has been used in business operations for a long time. A marketing channel is made
by the people, organizations, and activities necessary to transfer the ownership of
goods from the point of production to the point of consumption. It is the way
products and services get to the end user, the consumer; and is also known as a
distributionchannel. Distribution channels is a network of firms that are
interconnected in their quest to provide sellers a means of infusing the marketplace
with its goods and buyers purchasing of those goods. (Iacobucci, 2013) Distribution is
one of the most important features that one must consider in undertaking even a
simple marketingchannel. Distribution and Marketing channels are very important
because they are the ones who help us find the products and services that we greatly

Melanoma Treatment Options
Melanoma: Treatment Options For This Dangerous Skin Cancer
Melanoma is a serious type of skin cancer. It can spread to the other organs in your
body if you don t treat it in time. That s why it s so important to check your skin
often and see your dermatologist for regular examinations. You may not feel sick
or have any pain when melanoma is in the early stages, and that is when it is most
treatable. The only way to know for sure if you have melanoma is for the
dermatologist to do a biopsy. If the biopsy confirms melanoma, your dermatologist
may treat it in one of these ways.

The dermatologist removes the visible area of melanoma and then starts removing
the skin beneath it a layer at a time. Each layer is examined under a microscope and
when a layer is found to be free from cancer cells, the surgery is stopped. The benefit
of this type of surgery is that the least amount of tissue is removed. This is a
preferable approach when removing skin cancer on your face.
Additional Treatments
When your biopsy results come back, the lab gives your melanoma a type. The type
refers to how far the cancer has invaded the skin up to the point where it has
metastasized to your lymph nodes or organs. You may need to have other treatments
for melanoma once it has spread, although your dermatologist will refer you to
specialists for treatments such as radiation and chemotherapy.
Melanoma has a high cure rate when it is removed in the early stage before it has
invaded deep into your skin and spread throughout your body. While you want to
be alert to changes on your skin, it s important to realize you can get melanoma in
places you might not suspect such as under your fingernails, inside your lips, and in
your eyes. Melanoma isn t the most common type of skin cancer but it is one of the
most deadly when it isn t treated. Visit your dermatologist when you have changes on
your skin so you can protect yourself from this form of
Causes Of The Trojan War
The Trojan War was during the Bronze Age in the 12th or 13th century BC. It was
between Greece and Troy. The Trojan War mainly started when the Greeks brought
a wooden horse over to Troy as a sign of peace. However, it was used to take over
Troy since there were many armed men in the horse. A downfall the Trojans had
that led up to this point in time was that they were foolish, Four times did the Horse
halt as they dragged it, before it passed through the gate, and each time their might
have been heard a great clashing of arms within (Church 9). In the Horse, there were
sounds being made but the Trojans did not pay attention to these signs and Troy
suffered as a result. Overall, the Trojan Warwas created due to many gods fighting
over Helen and because of this Troy was taken over by Greece and Aeneas and his
crew had to relocate and find a new safe place to live with the help of Venus and
Apollo by their side.
To begin with, there were a few causes that led up to Greece taking over. The main
cause that brought the Greeks to take over was the influence of the gods. And as
for Helen, why are you angry with her? It is not she, it is not Paris, that has brought
this great city of Troy to ruin; it is the anger of the gods (Church 15). Queen Helen
was captured by Paris so, Helen s husband, Menelaus, lead an expedition to find her.
With the help of Menelaus brother, Agamemnon, they made it to Asia minor, to lay
siege to Troy and requested for Helen s return by Priam and
Health Issues Of The Dominican Republic
The Dominican Republic has many prevalent health issues through out the country.
Some of the health issues that are common are AIDs, tuberculosis, and chikungunya.
There are also waterborne health issues preventing people from being able to drink

very high as well as the children being born with a diseaseor virus. There are many
health organizations trying to eliminate and lower the rates of these diseases and

people face a lot more deaths and disease because they lack the resources to
diagnosis their illness and to later find treatment. Over the years, the rate of AIDs/HIV
has grown to 0.8 percent. AIDs is a disease in which there is a deficiency of the
body s immunity, lowering the resistance to infection. some of the symptoms are a
severe cough, headaches, and skin rashes. If a person does not get their HIV virus

Why do I like jack the ripper? That is a very hard question. It s so many reasons.

Cultural Studies On Race And Social Classes
In today s society, culture is impacting our everyday life, experience and social
relations; we are all categorized by our cultural groups , but this has changed rapidly
throughout the years from one generation to the next. Cultural studies were
developed in the late 1950 s, through the 1970 s by the British academic scholars.
The British scholars were able engaged cultural analysis and the developed then

to a system of ideas, cultural, religious beliefs that sway society over they have and

schools and need to learn to not offend another person based on their cultural group.
Most people assume how a person is based on their appearances and their race.
In today s society, people are closed minded, and do not take the opportunity getting
to know the other person because of stereotyping and racism. Even though we all
have different opinions toward other cultures, norms, beliefs and values we should
all respect each other differences. We should consider learning from one another and
not judge a person based on their race, ethnicity, gender and religion. As a society, it
is very important; we educated ourselves in other cultures, even though we all have
different values and beliefs.
Cultural studies are influenced by the Marxist interpretation of society, but according
to, Stuart Hall believed that mass media has highlighted those people that are already
in positions of power and the media has exploited the poor keeping them powerless.
Hall says that he describes mass media as the dominance that maintain

programing languages, predominantly, java, C#, Python, Ruby, Objective C and
C++ put these ideas into practice. The intent of my research is to help developers
identify the strengths and weakness of different abstract data type and evaluate
scenario under which each data type can be utilized to fully harness its maximum
potential. Keywords: Abstract Data Types, Data Types, Data Structures Abstract
Data Types: Examine How Different Languages Choose To Use the Concept Since
most of the popular programing languages used today are object oriented in nature,
which in turn, is not a language, but a set of ideas that is supported by many
languages, part of my research will be focused on how these concepts came into
play and the rest will be aimed at collecting arguments to elaborate distinction and
similarities between the two paradigms. Before the concept of Object Oriented
development was introduced, programs were written as a long piece of code, often
with all the data and variables defined in one place and all the logic in another. This
Approach to programing was known as Procedure Oriented. Although, procedural
languages had named functions and subroutines to make the program look more
modular and maintainable, but as the code got bigger and more
A Courageous Mother At Gallipoli
On April 6th 2014 in the New Zealand Herald a story titled A courageous mother at
Gallipoli was published. The story is about Mary and Doug Hill, whose names
were drawn out of a ballot to attend the prestigious Anzac Day ceremony in
Gallipoli to mark 100 years since the Gallipoli landing. The article was also about
Catherine O Donnell, Doug Hill s great grandmother, who was the first mother of a
New Zealandsoldier to travel to Gallipolito visit her son s grave, who had been killed
during battle. Along with the article is three secondary images and one primary
image which is on the first page of the two page article. In this essay I will use the
techniques of semioticsto analyse the images and the article. Semiotics is described
as a system used for analysing how all sign systems work (O Shaughnessy, Stadler
2012, p. 131). In regards to the article and the images of A courageous mother at
Gallipoli the semiotic analysis will look at the representation of photojournalism, the
historic and social values and our cultural identity, the denotative and connotative
meanings of the image, and the signifier and signs.
Representation and the critique of ideology apply to photojournalism because a
photo does not exist in isolation. This means that a photo always has more meaning
than what is shown. A camera only captures what is in front of the lens, not around
or behind it, therefore there is always more to the story than one image can portray. A
photo also has different
Cash Flow in Business
1.Cash flows from operating activities
Operating activities reflect the amounts of money coming into and leaving the
business by means of ordinary company activities. They include various transactions
like receipts from customers, payments to suppliers, dividends received, and
employees, and tax and interest payments.
This section reflects the underlying health of the business thus making it the most
important section of the cash flow statement. The ability of a firm to fund its
operating capability, repay loans, pay dividends etc are indicated by the cah flows
arising from operating activities.
The total net profit before tax and before adjusting the non operating expenses have
increased from Rs 4,535 in the year 2012 to Rs 6,439 in 2013 which indicates the
overall growth and success of the company. There has also been an increase in the
depreciation and amortization expenses.

The investigators narrow the citizenship into two aspects: active social behaviors and
the sense of agency. In conclusion, the respondents shows less passion and
enthusiasm while volunteering compulsively. This, as a result, descends their active
behaviors, as well as the sense of agency.
This paper shows strong indications on the relations between compulsory
volunteering and participants attitudes, which would directly lead to alters on their
citizenship. This paper certifies that faulty policy on volunteering would not only
reduce the amounts of future volunteers, but also degrade their citizenship.

The Scottish Stereotypes Of Henry Playland And Henry
Playland
In order to increase their marketability, publishers would play on the Scottish
stereotypes which included tartanry, bagpipes and the idea of Scots being brutes.
This stereotype has been argued to have come from how the English view
highlanders. Matthew Gelbart argues that The Gaelic speaking Scots seemed to
outsiders a Sectarian and ungovernable group, still ruled by feudal and barbaric clan
allegiances, and both impenetrable both linguistically and geographically. (Gelbart,
2007, p. 29) This arguably caused the people of Scotlandto become spectacles to
outsiders. In attempt to increase their profits, publishers of eighteenth century
Scotland channelled these stereotypes into what they could sell off as Scottish
music to outsiders. Henry Playford is a prime example of this. Playford published
his Collection of Original Scots tunes (Full of Highland Humours) for the Violin:
Being the First of this Kind yet Printed in 1700. The use of Highland in the title
would have arguably been an attempt from Playford to make this collection appealing
to the English market as it has been argued that the tunes in this collection did not
originate in the Highlands at all. (Gelbart, 2007) From this, it is evident that Scottish
music of the eighteenth century was a reflection of Scottish stereotypes which were
perpetuated by publishers for their own gain.
It could be argued that these stereotypes have not been confined to the eighteenth
century and have been used by more modern
Essay On Staying In Oakland
Staying in Oakland will be the best solution financially. Oakland has a booming
economy that continues to grow at a rapid pace. Many new companies setting up
headquarters in Oakland, such as Uber, are making the prices of living in Oakland
rise higher and higher because many rich tech people are moving in rapidly. As a
result, Oakland is becoming a much nicer place than it once was. By staying put,
the Raiders would benefit from more expensive tickets due to Oakland becoming a
wealthy city. Also, the Raiders fan base in the Alameda County is second to none,
as they have been selling out games for years. This will also help drive up the ticket
prices because there will be lots of demand for the tickets, thus raising the prices even

By moving there, you will be losing money in the long run. Initially, it will be more
profitable than staying in Oakland because most of the stadium funding will be

the novelty of the Raiders in Vegas will wear off and Las Vegas isn t a football
town. There aren t many true sports fans in Vegas who will come to every game
faithfully like residents of the Alameda County do. A great example of this is
when the Rams moved to Los Angeles last season. Everybody was extremely
excited for the Rams coming to LA and as a result, ticket prices boomed and the
Rams were one of the most profitable teams in the NFL. But, as the season
progressed, less and less people went to the games, and the Rams began to self

making more money by not moving to Vegas. Staying in Oakland will be the best

An Analysis Of Alfred Lord Tennyson s An Athlete Dying...

Alfred Lord Tennyson was one of the most prolific poets throughout the whole
Victorian era. A.E Housman is one of the most significant poets from the Modern era.
Both of these magnificent authors lived distinct lives. Housman wrote To an Athlete

with the tragedy of death in different perspectives.
Housman was born in Worcestershire, England on March 26, 1859.At such a young
age of 12 years old he lost his mother due to the horrific illness of cancer. Housman

Shikoku Pilgrimage
Is the Omairingu project inspiring or ridiculous?
Introduction
The Shikoku Henro is a Buddhist Pilgrimage visiting eighty eight Buddhist Temples
in Shikoku to commemorate one of the most famous Japanese Buddhist Monks
KЕ«kai as known as KЕЌbЕЌ Daishi. This pilgrimage is a training bringing both
physical and spiritual benefits to pilgrims through its intensive process. Nevertheless,
due to the consequences of rapid modernization in Japan, cultural practices like
Shikoku Henro are at threats of erosion because of the increasing concentration of
Japanese people on fulfilling material life rather than enriching spiritual experience.
Facing challenges of being eternally forgotten, Shikoku Pilgrimage needs a greater
dynamic to continue preserving its quintessence. One of the possible solutions that
were already implemented is giving birth to the Omairingu manga, anime and cosplay
pilgrimage in attempts to reintroduce this holy practice in a more pop cultural
approach. However, the Omairingu concept is quite controversial among traditional
pilgrims and pop culture fans on how much is too much to deliver sacred images. For

Tv Shows Influence On American Culture
Ever since the modern age of human history began, mediums of communication have
had a vital impact in society and culture. The newspaper was the first medium that
changed the ways of communication and information. In the 1600s, the newspaper
was an important tool to communicate events and political ideas in Europe. Two
centuries later, the radio became an innovative outlet. Radio stations would broadcast
news, information, and entertainment in the forms of music, sports and variety
shows. However, there is an outlet that revolutionized more than just communication,
information and entertainment.
Television revolutionized the entire path of human society. Since the first TV sets
were made in the late 1800s, television viewers in America have increased. As the
years went by, TV was not only a magic box , as many people used to call it.
Television became a powerful and profitable business for the major networks. In the

To understand the influence TV shows have on American individuals and families,
it is important to first know the numbers and statistics of TV viewers since the post

percent in 1946 to 9 percent in 1950. After that, penetration rates inclined fairly
steadily so that by 1955 about 65 percent of the

A Monster Calls by Patrick Ness, a 13 year old boy, Conor O malley, deals with inner
struggles when accepting his mother s fatal illness. Conor experiences hardship when
coming to terms with the truthso he chooses to suppress it with denial and this
worsens his grieving process. Conor undergoes a troubling state where he is
lonesome and unwillingly expresses himself through violence and a series of
emotional collapses. The teen s way of coping is not beneficial to either him or is
family. A monster in the form of a Yew tree comes to visit Conor and guides him
towards the acceptance of truth. Although Conor is not oblivious towards his mother
s imminent death, he must learn from the monster to fully acceptthe condition she is
in, in order to move on with his life. The Yew tree monster guides Conor through
storytelling, thus teaching him the importance of accepting the truth. At times, the
monster takes a step back and this allows Conor to discover the importance of truth
slowly and independently. The way the monster approaches Conor and the tactics he
uses to enlighten him are the main reasons Conor develops throughout the novel as
an individual. Patrick Ness conveys the importance of truth and how difficult it is for
individuals to accept and come to terms with
The Controversial Issue Of Illegal Immigration
Illegal immigration is a subject that is literally splitting the country in half when
considering the opposing opinions. While there are quite a few reasons backing
up both sides of this controversial topic, I believe that illegal immigrants should be
allowed to stay so long as they go through the proper procedures. I agree with those
saying that it is unfair for those who are breaking the law to be allowed citizenship,
but I also believe that there substantial reasons for allowing immigrants to stay.
Illegal immigrants not only add to the mixed diversity of America, but they also
offer their services for many different types of jobs leading to a higher economy. If
immigrants get approved to be citizens and Americans begin to look at them like

Research On Youth Development Programs Essay
Research plays a vital role in all youth development programs. As the PowerPoint

leaders and volunteers on the Ages and Stages research. We train them on this
particular research method to help them better understand the youth they will be
engaging with. Evidence based research such as Ages and Stages helps youth and
adults to gain the most from any learning environment. I love learning about
different research methods or theories. I took a research class for my Bachelor s
degree. I was the only one in the class that enjoyed it. My interest in research serves
a positive influence in my career now. For any programming I offer I give a short

influential research we use in 4 H in through Richard Learner and his many studies

Citizens Should Not Pay For Healthcare
Citizens Should Not Pay For Health Care
One of the foundations of every just society is the protection of every person s right
to healthcare. This statement underscores the importance of the discourse on whether
working citizens ought to pay for healthcare. The debate has been in the limelight
since the beginning of the 20th century. Successive governments in the United States
have over the years attempted to institute a universal healthcare system for the United
States citizenry, but repeatedly the proposals for a free healthcare system in the
country has been fought and defeated. In light of this information, this paper seeks to
answer the question on why the working citizens in the United States should not pay
for healthcare. The paper draws statistical and empirical information in support of
this thesis, as well as information that those opposed to the idea put forward. In
essence, therefore, this argumentative paper seeks to discredit some of the ideas that
the naysayers put forward in their opposition to the idea of a free healthcare system
in the United States while at the same time providing solid arguments on why
working citizens should not pay for healthcare.
The debate about whether or not the government should pay for healthcare begins
earnestly with the understanding of the constitution. Particularly, the constitution
provides for the inalienable rights to liberty, happiness, and life. Healthcare provision
falls squarely under the right to life and the
Genesis Chapter 37-45 Analysis
Did He trick me into a rosy belief in Him? I have been a Christian for over four
decades, and I still Cannot fathom why He allows us to form our own pictures of
Him. Is it so he can jump up from behind the table and say: Boo! Gottcha! In
Genesis, chapters 37 45, we read the story of Joseph. It is eight chapters, but not
such a long account when one considers it covers most of Joseph s life. Joseph was
the eleventh of twelve sons born to the patriarch, Jacob, and the firstborn of his
beloved wife, Rachel. Jacob spoiled Joseph. At least that is what is implied, for he
gave him the gift of a colorful robe, a robe he did not give to his other children.
Perhaps I am reading something into the story that is not there, but Joseph appeared
to be a very good kid, a little cocky, maybe. He was Jacob s pride and joy and how he

Is it reasonable to conclude that Joseph became disillusioned with God? There is
no doubt in my mind that Jacob had shared with his children the promise God had
given to his forefather, Abraham. And what about Jacob? In his youth he was
wild, but he had settled down, grown up. Again, I am speaking without clear
knowledge, but it is possible to conclude that both Joseph and Jacob became
depressed and overwhelmed with life. But the Bible does not say how the players
felt during the middle of this sordid tale. It just tells how Joseph felt at the end.
You meant evil against me, Joseph eventually tells his brothers. But God meant it
for good. Notice that Joseph did not say God brought good out of the horrible life
experience he endured but God meant good. Not, mind you, God s intentions were
good, or God said or did something that turned out wrong, even though He meant it
for right. Or God made a birthday cake, but it tipped to one side and the icing melted

somewhat chronological order, first asking the interviewee to describe their first
childhood best friend, then inquiring if they could recall at what age themselves or
their peers started participating in mature, adolescent activities.
My interviews were conducted over the phone with two women whom I could not
imagine my life without. My first interview was with my childhood best friend, now
19 years old, whom I met at eight years old after I moved to Haines from Fairbanks,
Alaska. To this day, we have remained best friends. Due to that, our interview
required an extent of additional effort to conduct it seriously. However, we
managed to cover everything in 10 minutes. My second interview was with my
father s ex girlfriend, now 61 years old, who I have the utmost appreciation for. She
has only been in my life since 2014, but considering she was a large part of my
18th birthday, senior prom, and high school graduation, I could never not consider
her a member of my family. She was more direct in her responses, so our interview
lasted only 5 minutes.
My best friend *Zoey gave lengthy, humorous responses to my questions. I attempted

In fact, sukuk hold a number of structures which distinguish them from
conventional bonds and from the other sukuk structures in the part of approved
sukuk. We can say that sukuk is differ in product design, product offering and pay
off to the investor. Back on the case of trachoma, it can categorized that sukuk that
was applied on Tracoma s is under the asset backed securities. Its represent the real
form of securitisation as they expose the sukuk investors to the real value and risk
of the underlying asset. Under this structure, the investor can only expect the returns
from the cash flows of the underlying asset and there is no right of recourse to the
owner of the assets. We can say that this is because under the asset backed sukuk
would require the owner of the asset to sell the company asset on a true sale concept
to the sukuk investor without having any purchase undertaking in the case the asset
fails to generate the expected income to sukuk investor. Shortly, we can say that asset
backed sukuk are normally non recourse sukuk with the underlying asset in term of

Finding Meaning In Heideggerian Nothingelf Nihilates
Finding Meaning in Heideggerian Nothingness One of the most obscure, and on the
surface meaningless, quotes attributed to Heidegger is, the nothing itself nihilates
(Heidegger 103). This quote from What is Metaphysics? In the book Basic Writings,
seems confusing and contradictory until understood within the context of Heidegger
s nothing as a noun Nothing and not a verb. This perplexity over the meaning of the
nothing itself nihilates was famously critiqued by Rudolf Carnap in his book The
Elimination of MetaphysicsThrough Logical Analysis of Language, as an example of
meaningless metaphysics (Carnap 69). In the critique, Carnap actually quotes
Heidegger as saying the following:
What is to be investigated is being only and nothing ... Show more content on

Under what conditions is the word supposed to be true, and under what condi tions
false?
3. How is the word to be verified?
4. What is the meaning of the word? (Carnap 62).
Understanding the intent of these questions is the process in which we can
determine the meaning of the word. So, Carnap seems to say that the exact
meaning of any given word in a language is fixed. If a word is not fixed, in that it
does not fulfill the requirement of the above four questions, then that word is
meaningless (Carnap 63). In essence, Carnap understands Heidegger as violating the
rules by using the nothing as a noun instead of it supposed exact place in the
sentence as a verb. This entire objection from Carnap seems kind of silly when it
sounds like the exact problems with understanding that Heidegger points out when
writes:
Since it remains wholly impossible for us to make nothing into an object, have we
not already come to an end of our inquiry into the nothing assuming that in this
question logic is of supreme importance, that the intellect is the means, and thought
the way, to conceive the nothing originally and to decide about its possible
exposure? But are we allowed to tamper with the rule of logic ? (Heidegger

Webb (2017) stated that the competing middleware vendor Extension recently
acquired a mobility platform named Vocera. Although Vocera was considered as a
mobility, communication platform, COHC has made a significant investment with
the use of the Apple iPhone and therefore the use of Vocera would be a costly change
in direction. Ouellette (2017) and Webb (2017) agreed that the next step would be to
explore the medical equipment integration capabilities of Connexall s alarm
management middleware solution.
Medical Equipment Interoperability. The project team evaluated the five primary
types of medical equipment systems that were determined that interoperability would
be critical by NICU clinicians for effective communication. Ouellette (2017)
investigated critical medical equipment to determine the feasibility for integration
with alarm management middleware and mobile applications. The NICU clinical
team identified the Phillips patient monitoring, pumps, incubator, ventilator and the
nurse call as medical equipment that is vital to their workflow.
Physiological Monitoring. The Philips patient monitoring system can be centrally
managed and has the ability to send patient alarm data from the medical device via a
transmission protocol to the middleware alarm system. The system also has localized
visibility and audible sounds on the local patient monitor inside the patient room

Analyzing Vince Gilligan s Breaking Bad
Breaking Bad, created in 2008 by Vince Gilligan, is an incredibly popular television
show that depicts Walter White, a man who after learning he has cancer, transforms
from a meek schoolteacher to a drug kingpin in an effort to leave money for his
family. Viewer response has been especially strong for this show, especially in
reference to Walter s wife, Skyler, who has many fan pages dedicated to hating her.
By using Annette Kuhn s feminist theory of film studies, this paper will attempt to
explain the mass hatred that surrounds Skyler. Kuhn s theory states that images
shown through mass media, especially those of film and television, do not have
meanings in and of themselves, but rather the meaning is circulated between
representation, spectator and social formation (Kuhn 43). Kuhn cites representation,
the meaning that the image is given in its creation, as the source of much strife for
women, as it often creates a vision of femininity that is... Show more content on

Since the show is centered on Walter and his transformation, it rarely evinces any
curiosity about Skyler s inner life, apart from how it affects Walt (Bowie). Since the
show does not allow Skyler to have a fully fleshed out character, it becomes
impossible for the audience to sympathize with her. Furthermore, although Breaking
Bad explores deep moral dilemmas within its characters, demanding the audience to
question where the line of right and wrong is drawn, this kind of agency is only
given to the male characters (Bowie). Thus, due to this representation, the audience
judges Skyler by a different moral standard than they judge Walter (Gunn). However,
Skyler still remains a much more complex character than is regularly seen on
television, since usually representations of strong women are one dimensional,
unrealistic clichГ©s (Truitt), and so she is thus a positive representation of a
Johnny s Poem I Look Into The Mirror
For the poem I look into the mirror, I have chosen to write it from Johnny s
perspective, because I felt like he had one of the most depth histories of any of the
characters. He had suffered physical and mental abuse from his parents and the socs.
The poem attempted to present Johnny s dreadful world and his perception of it, but
also how he relies on the gang for support and love. The images that are trying to be
expressed are mainly the horrid world he lives in, and this is emphasised by the use
of similes and alliterations. I used words like tuff which was a greaser slang term (to
look cool or sharp) to accurately write like Johnny, who loved things that were tuff.
The poetic devices used in this poem was mostly similes and metaphors, ... Show

The effect of this is to talk about how it s a cruel cycle of everlasting violence, where
neither side ultimately wins anything from it.
His empty plates and his parents empty love is compared to get a direct comparison
of how both his parents are devoid of love and his hunger with his parents not giving
him enough food. This simile is really used to highlight the relationship between him
and his parents. The alliteration of uncaring and unsympathetic further enhances the
relationship he uses by using two negative adjectives to describe his parents towards
Johnny.
I am fairly pleased with the making of my look into the mirror poem as I attempted
to capture the dysfunctioned world Johnny lives in, in a poetic form. It conveys the
pain he suffers on a daily basis from nearly everyone he associates with barring the
greasers, the place he seeks refuge from all of this.
The part I mainly struggled with was implementing similes, metaphors, and
alliterations without making the poem sound odd or out of place. I tried not to use
fancy or complicated worded/structured sentences as Johnny s vocabulary was fairly
An Age Of Religious Complexity
Every age has its own characteristics. Right now we are in an age of religious
complexity. The simplicity which is in Christ is rarely found among us. In its stead
are programs, methods, organizations, and a world of nervous activities which
occupy time and attention but can never satisfy the longing of the heart. The
shallowness of our inner experience, the hollowness of our worship, and that servile
imitation of the world which marks our promotional methods all testify that we, in
this da, know God only imperfectly, and the peace of God scarcely at all.
Simplicity. What makes it so difficult to achieve? Today s society can see the need
for focused clarity. Because of the world s hyper complexity, simplicity has become a
coveted ideal. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The second is like is: Love your neighbor as yourself. All the Law and the Prophets
depend on these two commandments. Jesus summed up 613 commands into two. He
took the complexity of the Law and stripped it down to the very core. He made
obeying the Law of the Lord easier to understand through the accessibility of
simplicity. Churches today must follow Jesus example and seek simplicity.
The individuals that make up a church are builders. These builders have the ability,
through Christ, to define, illustrate, measure, and discuss a ministry blueprint that
will help bring clarity to their church s ministry process. This process will not only
help define what the goals of their church are, but also how to reach those goals. In
addition to bringing clarity to the vision of the church, having this ministry blueprint
in place will help the leaders in their church communicate and be understood even
more effectively. Once clarity has been made through a ministry blueprint, action
must follow. The movement needed is defined by Thom S. Rainer and Eric Geiger
as the sequential steps in the process that cause people to move to greater areas of
commitment. Jesus gave a profound example of what that movement should look
like in the book of Luke. In the the first 5 6 chapters, the Lord called his disciples to
Himself and provided them with opportunities to experience Him. Next, Jesus
provided opportunities designed to test their faith. He allowed them to
Research Paper On Enzo Ferrari
Enzo Ferrari What s behind you doesn t matter, said Enzo Ferrari. Enzo Ferrari was
a car maker and entrepreneur (somebody who starts a business) who loved cars
more than anyone else. Enzo Ferrari was the man who made the company Ferrari
and built the ferrari cars. He never gave up even when the going was tough.
In the beginning Enzo Ferrari s passion for driving and building cars began at a very
young age. On February 18, 1898 Enzo Anselmo Ferrari was born in Modena, Italy.
Enzo Ferrari was born on February 18 but his father wasn t there so when he got
there Enzo was already born. His father got there two days later and that s when his
name was on the birth certificate. When Enzo grew up, he had a passion for racing

After racing, he started making cars for other people to race. His most famous car
that he built was the Ferrari F40. Enzo Ferrari had many more amazing achievements
that he was famous for.
Plans For the Future Enzo Ferrari had a hard career after racing. He wanted to make
cars and make his own company. His first car he built in his company was a 125 S.
He built many more cars after that. Enzo Ferrari then married Laura Dominica
Garello in 1932. They then had two boys named Alfredo and Piero. Enzo would tell
his boys that, If you can dream it you can do it. He said this to his boys when they
said they could not do something. In 1982, Enzo Ferrari had to take a trip to Paris to
break up the warring car companies FISA and FOCA. That trip to Paris was the only
time he left Italy. Enzo was very fond of his home in Maranello, Italy. Enzo rarely left
Italy because he had a family there. In 1988 Enzo Ferrari built the Ferrari F40. He
saw the Ferrari F40 get shown to Italy right before his death. Enzo died on the very
sad day of August 14, 1988. He died at the age of 90 years old. He is remembered to
this day not just because of his cars, but because of his hard
Alpha Male Characters
When it comes to being an alpha male, there aren t many choices for anime that
depict alpha male characters. Unfortunately for betas like us, Princess Lover s!
OVA is not for us. To begin, the story seems to revolve around a true alpha male
who deserves to live on the Jersey shore more than I do. First off, I never watched
the main series cause I heard it was bad and since I try my best to watch only good
shows like Elfen Lied and Air I never got around to watching this. From what I
gather from the OVA is that Mr. Alpha Male here is engaged to some fancy blonde
slut and she doesn t want to put out or something along those lines. Anyways, since
he s alpha as fuck he just starts going to town on her and turns her into a sex crazed
slave who... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Seeing an alpha male go to town on a girl and turn her into a sex crazed maniac
who will do anything he wants makes me feel depressed. If he was morbidly obese
and in a power chair or some random idiot I would have found it better..but with an
alpha male leading the pack I couldn t enjoy it as much as I could have. Him being
so alpha was disheartening and the oh u fancy slut was too fancy for my tastes. I like
my women plain and boring with unibrows and hairy armpits. Her bitchy attitude
about oh goddd you made me a dirty woman and you re disgusting for making a lady
incontinent made me feel even more pathetic and the crushing reality of being a
beta male set in. I saw that frog telling me You will never make a lady incontinent
and then the tears started flowing. In summary this OVA was not for me. If you are
a true alpha male like Randy Savage or Chris Benoit this would be right up your
alley. But since I am nothing but a beta male I could not be entertained by such a
program that obviously caters to those who go to the gym daily and to the tanning
salon 3 times a week...it s not for us people who are plain and generic people who
lead plain and generic lives. In conclusion, watching this anime shows the crushing
reality that you will be forever alone and will never be an alpha

These have been terms that have often been used simultaneously when discussing the movement of students, academics, and scholars as they left their homes to study abroad, when they remained in their host countries, and when they continued to work both at home and internationally. Brian circulation has been the term used to describe the movement and mobility of higher educated people around the globe. It has been an increasing phenomenon that has affected the socio economic and socio cultural progress of a society and a country, as well as the world (Teferra, 2005). Individuals gained from the study and the society gained from the knowledge and skills those students needed. This was matched by the time and money that was spent on them during their schooling and job training. Saxenian (2002, 2005) suggested that there were huge advantages to brain circulation because repatriates could be in their home country while they continued to maintain social and professional ties with their host country Scholars argued repeatedly about the effects of brain drain, brain gain, and brain circulation upon various countries involved in their studies. Some would question the authenticity of this circulation of talent (Harvey 2012; Saxenian, 2006). Harvey (2012) referenced Kapur and McHale (2005), who worried that the highest ranking scholars from Indian universities emigrated from India to the United States in higher numbers than those scholars who graduated with lesser degrees from lesser universities. In other words, they argued that the very top professionals tended to be the ones to leave. Others would say that this was not negative because innovation tended to flow to and from the host country and increased the resources and knowledge in the home country (Harvey, 2012). Perna et al. (2014) looked at the cost benefits for an emerging economy as scholars returned from international study. In Kazakhstan, a government sponsored scholarship program (the Bolashak program) found that
  • 5. The Four Types Of Social Stratification Division is something that has been around since the beginning of time. No one is alike, and there are many things that differentiate us. We all know our place in the world and what groups we fit into; this is because of social stratification. Stratification is how society organizes itself. (Larkin, 2015). Social stratification ranks people based on their wealth, power, race, gender, education, etc. (Larkin, 2015). Over time there has seemed to be four main systems of stratification. Within these systems, there are also more divisions based on race, education, and gender. Social stratification has historically been made up of four main systems: slavery, caste, estate, and class (Larkin, 2015). Each system has its own mobility, with slavery being the most closed and class the most open. Slavery was due to either heredity misfortune or military conquest (Larkin, 2015). Slavery was unique from the other systems because slaves were treated as the property of their owners. Additionally, the owner had the right, although immoral, to treat his slaves in any manner he/she desired. This has at times allowed innocent people to be extremely mistreated. The slaves may have all be treated equal or some may have been treated better or worse; it truly depended on both the owner and the slaves. Social mobility was very limited in slavery. There was almost no opportunity for a slave to earn freedom (Larkin, 2015). The caste system, found in India, places an individual in the caste which they are born into; and one must remain in that caste. India consists of four castes: priests, warriors, merchants, and artisans/farmers (Larkin, 2015). There is also another group that is considered so low they are not even in the system; these unfortunate people are called the untouchables. Each group is to marry only within their caste, work within their caste, and socialize within their caste. The caste system s social mobility used to be quite strict; however, due to technology and urbanization, the mobility has grown (Larkin, 2015). This change is beginning to allow for slightly more social mobility, unlike slavery where there is little hope. The estate system prevailed during the Middle Ages in Europe. Landownership was the organizing

Even though this doctrine is the stone head of the English company common law, the courts introduced several exceptions which undermined the veil of incorporation . The exceptions were firstly introduced in the mid 60s by Lord Denning in Littlewoods Mail Order Stores Ltd. Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... The most important effect of limited liability is that the shareholders are not liable for any debts as the company is a separate legal identity. In the case of bankruptcy, members personal assets are protected and out of reach by the company s creditors. The Salomon case safeguarded member s personal property and offered members a security as they can have earnings from the company while they are protected. However, this protection offered by the Court to company s members made the company s creditors skeptical, since, in some cases the company was used to defraud the creditors and the state. The courts had to balance the protection to shareholders and the injustice against the creditors. Accordingly, the courts had to be ready to ignore the doctrine of separate legal personality and lift the veil of incorporation in cases where the company is incorporated in order to defraud. Case of Littlewoods Mail Order Stores Ltd V Inland Revenue Commissioners and the statement of Lord Denning Lord Denning was the precursor of lifting the veil of incorporation. • 11. A Major Measure Of Biological Fitness A major measure of biological fitness in a population is the fecundity, or reproductive success rate, of female organisms (Berger et al, 2008). For insects in particular many factors influence the number of eggs produced during the lifetime of a female. One key factor in insect reproduction is the ambient environmental temperature. Insects are ectothermic and therefore rely on their environment to provide the heat needed to carry out normal reproductive functions. Ambient heat dependence for insects has been thought to have a greater effect on fertility success than other contributing factors such as increased female body size. Studies by Berger and others have shown that the European speckled wood butterfly, Pararge aegeria, can only reproduce in the temperature range of 8В°C and 14 В°C even when controlling for larger female body sizes. The findings of the study suggest that temperature can limit insectreproduction in two specific ways. First, the development of the egg may be inhibited by temperature ranges that are outside the preferred range of the insect. Second, the female s range of time she is able to lay eggs is reduced when the temperature of the immediate environment is not conducive to the survival of her offspring (Berger et al, 2008). Thus, temperature is a paramount factor when considering the success rate of many insect species. Other studies have shown the importance of temperature on reproductive success of certain insects and the implications that

The Trojan War mainly started when the Greeks brought a wooden horse over to Troy as a sign of peace. However, it was used to take over Troy since there were many armed men in the horse. A downfall the Trojans had that led up to this point in time was that they were foolish, Four times did the Horse halt as they dragged it, before it passed through the gate, and each time their might have been heard a great clashing of arms within (Church 9). The term ideology refers to a system of ideas, cultural, religious beliefs that sway society over they have and have not s. We come in contact every day with cultural diversity in the workplace, schools and need to learn to not offend another person based on their cultural group. Most people assume how a person is based on their appearances and their race. In today s society, people are closed minded, and do not take the opportunity getting to know the other person because of stereotyping and racism. Even though we all have different opinions toward other cultures, norms, beliefs and values we should all respect each other differences. We should consider learning from one another and not judge a person based on their race, ethnicity, gender and religion. As a society, it is very important; we educated ourselves in other cultures, even though we all have different values and beliefs. Cultural studies are influenced by the Marxist interpretation of society, but according to, Stuart Hall believed that mass media has highlighted those people that are already in positions of power and the media has exploited the poor keeping them powerless. Hall says that he describes mass media as the dominance that maintain

The intent of my research is to help developers identify the strengths and weakness of different abstract data type and evaluate scenario under which each data type can be utilized to fully harness its maximum potential. Keywords: Abstract Data Types, Data Types, Data Structures Abstract Data Types: Examine How Different Languages Choose To Use the Concept Since most of the popular programing languages used today are object oriented in nature, which in turn, is not a language, but a set of ideas that is supported by many languages, part of my research will be focused on how these concepts came into play and the rest will be aimed at collecting arguments to elaborate distinction and similarities between the two paradigms. Before the concept of Object Oriented development was introduced, programs were written as a long piece of code, often with all the data and variables defined in one place and all the logic in another. This Approach to programing was known as Procedure Oriented. Although, procedural languages had named functions and subroutines to make the program look more modular and maintainable, but as the code got bigger and more

The story is about Mary and Doug Hill, whose names were drawn out of a ballot to attend the prestigious Anzac Day ceremony in Gallipoli to mark 100 years since the Gallipoli landing. The article was also about Catherine O Donnell, Doug Hill s great grandmother, who was the first mother of a New Zealandsoldier to travel to Gallipolito visit her son s grave, who had been killed during battle. Along with the article is three secondary images and one primary image which is on the first page of the two page article. In this essay I will use the techniques of semioticsto analyse the images and the article. Semiotics is described as a system used for analysing how all sign systems work (O Shaughnessy, Stadler 2012, p. 131). In regards to the article and the images of A courageous mother at Gallipoli the semiotic analysis will look at the representation of photojournalism, the historic and social values and our cultural identity, the denotative and connotative meanings of the image, and the signifier and signs. Representation and the critique of ideology apply to photojournalism because a photo does not exist in isolation. This means that a photo always has more meaning than what is shown. A camera only captures what is in front of the lens, not around or behind it, therefore there is always more to the story than one image can portray. A photo also has different

The Scottish Stereotypes Of Henry Playland And Henry Playland In order to increase their marketability, publishers would play on the Scottish stereotypes which included tartanry, bagpipes and the idea of Scots being brutes. This stereotype has been argued to have come from how the English view highlanders. Matthew Gelbart argues that The Gaelic speaking Scots seemed to outsiders a Sectarian and ungovernable group, still ruled by feudal and barbaric clan allegiances, and both impenetrable both linguistically and geographically. (Gelbart, 2007, p. 29) This arguably caused the people of Scotlandto become spectacles to outsiders. In attempt to increase their profits, publishers of eighteenth century Scotland channelled these stereotypes into what they could sell off as Scottish music to outsiders. Henry Playford is a prime example of this. Playford published his Collection of Original Scots tunes (Full of Highland Humours) for the Violin: Being the First of this Kind yet Printed in 1700. The use of Highland in the title would have arguably been an attempt from Playford to make this collection appealing to the English market as it has been argued that the tunes in this collection did not originate in the Highlands at all. (Gelbart, 2007) From this, it is evident that Scottish music of the eighteenth century was a reflection of Scottish stereotypes which were perpetuated by publishers for their own gain. It could be argued that these stereotypes have not been confined to the eighteenth century and have been used by more modern

This statement underscores the importance of the discourse on whether working citizens ought to pay for healthcare. The debate has been in the limelight since the beginning of the 20th century. Successive governments in the United States have over the years attempted to institute a universal healthcare system for the United States citizenry, but repeatedly the proposals for a free healthcare system in the country has been fought and defeated. In light of this information, this paper seeks to answer the question on why the working citizens in the United States should not pay for healthcare. The paper draws statistical and empirical information in support of this thesis, as well as information that those opposed to the idea put forward. In essence, therefore, this argumentative paper seeks to discredit some of the ideas that the naysayers put forward in their opposition to the idea of a free healthcare system in the United States while at the same time providing solid arguments on why working citizens should not pay for healthcare. The debate about whether or not the government should pay for healthcare begins earnestly with the understanding of the constitution. Particularly, the constitution provides for the inalienable rights to liberty, happiness, and life. Healthcare provision falls squarely under the right to life and the

  • 41. My Initial Goal For A Interview Project My initial goal for this interview project was to discover if growing up in the 1960 s was shockingly different than growing up in the 2000 s. However, based on the responses I received describing aspects of their childhood, my two interviewees with a 40 year age gap sounded surprisingly similar. My 10 questions were arranged in a somewhat chronological order, first asking the interviewee to describe their first childhood best friend, then inquiring if they could recall at what age themselves or their peers started participating in mature, adolescent activities. My interviews were conducted over the phone with two women whom I could not imagine my life without. My first interview was with my childhood best friend, now 19 years old, whom I met at eight years old after I moved to Haines from Fairbanks, Alaska. To this day, we have remained best friends. Due to that, our interview required an extent of additional effort to conduct it seriously. However, we managed to cover everything in 10 minutes. My second interview was with my father s ex girlfriend, now 61 years old, who I have the utmost appreciation for. She has only been in my life since 2014, but considering she was a large part of my 18th birthday, senior prom, and high school graduation, I could never not consider her a member of my family. She was more direct in her responses, so our interview lasted only 5 minutes. My best friend *Zoey gave lengthy, humorous responses to my questions. I attempted to remain as

  • 43. Finding Meaning In Heideggerian Nothingelf Nihilates Finding Meaning in Heideggerian Nothingness One of the most obscure, and on the surface meaningless, quotes attributed to Heidegger is, the nothing itself nihilates (Heidegger 103). This quote from What is Metaphysics? In the book Basic Writings, seems confusing and contradictory until understood within the context of Heidegger s nothing as a noun Nothing and not a verb. This perplexity over the meaning of the nothing itself nihilates was famously critiqued by Rudolf Carnap in his book The Elimination of MetaphysicsThrough Logical Analysis of Language, as an example of meaningless metaphysics (Carnap 69). In the critique, Carnap actually quotes Heidegger as saying the following: What is to be investigated is being only and nothing ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Under what conditions is the word supposed to be true, and under what condi tions false? 3. How is the word to be verified? 4. What is the meaning of the word? (Carnap 62). Understanding the intent of these questions is the process in which we can determine the meaning of the word. So, Carnap seems to say that the exact meaning of any given word in a language is fixed. If a word is not fixed, in that it does not fulfill the requirement of the above four questions, then that word is meaningless (Carnap 63). In essence, Carnap understands Heidegger as violating the rules by using the nothing as a noun instead of it supposed exact place in the sentence as a verb. This entire objection from Carnap seems kind of silly when it sounds like the exact problems with understanding that Heidegger points out when writes: Since it remains wholly impossible for us to make nothing into an object, have we not already come to an end of our inquiry into the nothing assuming that in this question logic is of supreme importance, that the intellect is the means, and thought the way, to conceive the nothing originally and to decide about its possible exposure? But are we allowed to tamper with the rule of logic ? (Heidegger

  • 46. Analyzing Vince Gilligan s Breaking Bad Breaking Bad, created in 2008 by Vince Gilligan, is an incredibly popular television show that depicts Walter White, a man who after learning he has cancer, transforms from a meek schoolteacher to a drug kingpin in an effort to leave money for his family. Viewer response has been especially strong for this show, especially in reference to Walter s wife, Skyler, who has many fan pages dedicated to hating her. By using Annette Kuhn s feminist theory of film studies, this paper will attempt to explain the mass hatred that surrounds Skyler. Kuhn s theory states that images shown through mass media, especially those of film and television, do not have meanings in and of themselves, but rather the meaning is circulated between representation, spectator and social formation (Kuhn 43). Kuhn cites representation, the meaning that the image is given in its creation, as the source of much strife for women, as it often creates a vision of femininity that is... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Since the show is centered on Walter and his transformation, it rarely evinces any curiosity about Skyler s inner life, apart from how it affects Walt (Bowie). Since the show does not allow Skyler to have a fully fleshed out character, it becomes impossible for the audience to sympathize with her. Furthermore, although Breaking Bad explores deep moral dilemmas within its characters, demanding the audience to question where the line of right and wrong is drawn, this kind of agency is only given to the male characters (Bowie). Thus, due to this representation, the audience judges Skyler by a different moral standard than they judge Walter (Gunn). However, Skyler still remains a much more complex character than is regularly seen on television, since usually representations of strong women are one dimensional, unrealistic clichГ©s (Truitt), and so she is thus a positive representation of a

Johnny s Poem I Look Into The Mirror For the poem I look into the mirror, I have chosen to write it from Johnny s perspective, because I felt like he had one of the most depth histories of any of the characters. He had suffered physical and mental abuse from his parents and the socs. The poem attempted to present Johnny s dreadful world and his perception of it, but also how he relies on the gang for support and love. The images that are trying to be expressed are mainly the horrid world he lives in, and this is emphasised by the use of similes and alliterations. I used words like tuff which was a greaser slang term (to look cool or sharp) to accurately write like Johnny, who loved things that were tuff. The poetic devices used in this poem was mostly similes and metaphors, ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... The effect of this is to talk about how it s a cruel cycle of everlasting violence, where neither side ultimately wins anything from it. His empty plates and his parents empty love is compared to get a direct comparison of how both his parents are devoid of love and his hunger with his parents not giving him enough food. This simile is really used to highlight the relationship between him and his parents. The alliteration of uncaring and unsympathetic further enhances the relationship he uses by using two negative adjectives to describe his parents towards Johnny. I am fairly pleased with the making of my look into the mirror poem as I attempted to capture the dysfunctioned world Johnny lives in, in a poetic form. It conveys the pain he suffers on a daily basis from nearly everyone he associates with barring the greasers, the place he seeks refuge from all of this. The part I mainly struggled with was implementing similes, metaphors, and alliterations without making the poem sound odd or out of place. I tried not to use fancy or complicated worded/structured sentences as Johnny s vocabulary was fairly
  • 48. An Age Of Religious Complexity Every age has its own characteristics. Right now we are in an age of religious complexity. The simplicity which is in Christ is rarely found among us. In its stead are programs, methods, organizations, and a world of nervous activities which occupy time and attention but can never satisfy the longing of the heart. The shallowness of our inner experience, the hollowness of our worship, and that servile imitation of the world which marks our promotional methods all testify that we, in this da, know God only imperfectly, and the peace of God scarcely at all. Simplicity. What makes it so difficult to achieve? Today s society can see the need for focused clarity. Because of the world s hyper complexity, simplicity has become a coveted ideal. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... The second is like is: Love your neighbor as yourself. All the Law and the Prophets depend on these two commandments. Jesus summed up 613 commands into two. He took the complexity of the Law and stripped it down to the very core. He made obeying the Law of the Lord easier to understand through the accessibility of simplicity. Churches today must follow Jesus example and seek simplicity. The individuals that make up a church are builders. These builders have the ability, through Christ, to define, illustrate, measure, and discuss a ministry blueprint that will help bring clarity to their church s ministry process. This process will not only help define what the goals of their church are, but also how to reach those goals. In addition to bringing clarity to the vision of the church, having this ministry blueprint in place will help the leaders in their church communicate and be understood even more effectively. Once clarity has been made through a ministry blueprint, action must follow. The movement needed is defined by Thom S. Rainer and Eric Geiger as the sequential steps in the process that cause people to move to greater areas of commitment. Jesus gave a profound example of what that movement should look like in the book of Luke.
