WIRELESS NOTICEBOARD
1. Problem Definition
Notice Board is primary thing in any institution /
organization or public utility places like bus stations, railway stations and
parks. But sticking various notices day-to-day is a difficult process. This
project deals with an advanced wireless notice board.
The main objective of
this project is to develop a wireless notice board that displays messages sent
from the user’s side. When a user sends a message from our website, it is
received by a SIM loaded GSM modem at the receiver unit.
2. Software Requirements Specification ( SRS )
i.) Introduction - This Application provides facility to sending message
from anywhere without internet or message sending from GSM modem.
Presently almost all electronic notice boards are designed using wired system. One
of the drawbacks of the design is the system is inflexible in term of placement. The
common notice board cannot be placed anywhere because of the messy wire. The
aim of this project is to develop a wireless notice board that will be used at the
faculty in order to display latest information.
ii.) Purpose- This wireless notice board project mainly focuses on
transmission of textual data through air interface by the use of GSM
through asynchronous serial communication. The data will be processed
by the microcontroller on both ends. The data will be displayed on LCD.
Actually what happens is, sending SMS through phone has become very popular
and if we can use this SMS to control devices and in displaying data. It is possible
to receive or decodethe SMS globally by using GSM, by the any part of world we
can controland display data on LCD board.

iii.) Scope - The main intention of this project is to display the latest
information on the notice board through an android application device by
entering the updated information to display on electronic notice board
with wireless technology.
The scrolling display board is a common display today for shopping malls, railway
stations, colleges, etc., for effective mode of providing information for the people,
but this is not easy for updating the messages instantly. This system is enhanced to
display the latest information through an Android application of smart/ tablet
phones.
iv.) Definitions, Acronyms and Abbreviations :
 Admin (Administrator): He/she has the authority to add, delete
and update users.
 J2EE (Java 2 Enterprise Edition): It is a programming platform,
belonging to the Java platform,
 HTTP (Hyper Text Transfer Protocol): It is a service protocol.
 JSP (Java Server Pages): It is used to content dynamic web
content.
 Servlet page (which is used in the background ofprocessinglike
submitting.)
v.) Overview:
 Existing User
 Manually Registration.
 Drawbacks
 Drivers are database dependent, as different database
vendors use wildly different (and usually proprietary)
network protocols.
 Not all users can access an application.
 People who don’thave knowledge of computer can’t use
the system.
 Proposed System
 Registration for faculty.
 This can also be used for surveillance in corporate
campuses and industries.
 Our Plan
 Registration for faculty members.
 Project is based on android app.
3. Overall Description
i.) Product Perspective - This software is totally self contained and works
relatively as efficient as other packages related to the subject. It provides
simple database rather than complex ones for high requirements and it
provides good and easy graphical user interface to bothnew, naive as well
as experienced users of the computers.

1) Constraints -
 Foreign Key Constraints must be followed in MySQL.
 Login and Password is used for the identification of users.
 Only registered person will be authorized to use the services.
 Fields specified as Primary Key must not be empty.
 The clock speed of server should be almost 1.7 GHz.`
2) Memory Constraints -
 At least 1GB of RAM is required at the server side for effective
working.
 MySQL needs at least 114 KB of memory.
3) Operations -
Modes of Operation – Admin is a authorized personwho manages
employees, admin has the power to add/delete user and control them.
4) User Characteristics – User should have a basic knowledge of
operating various hardware devices specified. User has known more
about android technology.

Result –
This is to conclude that the project that I undertook was worked upon with a sincere
effort. Most of the requirements have been fulfilled up to the mark and the
requirements which have been remaining, can be completed with a short extension.
The project made here is just to ensure that this productcould be valid in today real
challenging world. Here all the facilities are made and tested. Currently the system
works for limited number ofadministrators to work. In near future it will beextended
for many types of insurance policies so that efficiency can be improved.
