Blood donation saves lives by providing safe blood for those in need, such as women with pregnancy complications, children with severe anemia, trauma patients, and those needing surgery or cancer treatment. In Pakistan, voluntary blood donation is less than 20% compared to over 100% in other countries. Donating blood regularly and motivating others to donate can help those in need and provide health benefits to donors such as lowering cholesterol and risk of heart attacks. Blood donation should be a habit to help those who need blood and put a smile on their faces.

2. Q: Why should I donate blood?

A: Safe blood saves lives and improves
health. Blood transfusion is needed for:

women with complications of pregnancy,
such as ectopic pregnancies and
hemorrhage before, during or after childbirth;

children with severe anemia often resulting
from malaria or malnutrition;

people with severe trauma following
accidents; and

many surgical and cancer patients.
