5. Does the magazine capture you eye?
6. Do the photos suite the genre used in the
     magazine?
Chosen Sample
I have chosen to use a sample of teenagers because since my actul magazine
was aimed at those type of people it will be best if I used them for my
sample, I might also include at a later date such things as a different survey
which I can produce for a different sample of people
I decided to use 10 people in my survey and then I can work out a advrage

I have made sure every question they answer is relevent and fits the need to
put against my specification I made at the begging of my project it will make it
easy for me to compare.
1. Do you think it looks professional?

                     Why I choose this question?
I chose to use this question because a successful
magazine always looks professional and that is what I
Yes am going for and this question is also easily
No measurable. It can also be intlinked into my
specification which said that I must “produce and
                     professional magazine”

                     Results?
As you can see from my results above 100% of young
people said that the magazine they looked at was
Yes No professional. This shows that I have met one of my
10 0 specifications, the specification said “To produce a
magazine which looked professional” and as you can
see this has been for filled. Since it looks professional it
helps me deliver a succefull magazine which others will
                     enjoy
2. Are the colors used suitable for the genre?

                           Why I choose this question?
I choose this question because it enables me to mesure
it against my specification for example my specification
Yes was “to produce a magazine which was eye catchy and
No suited my genre” with asking the question it will mean
that I will see if I weas successful or not.

                           Results?
As you can see from my results above 100% of young
people said that the suited the genre I was aiming at
which is good because it proves that I have produced a
Yes No succesfull magazine in this respect
10 0
3. Is there enough contents there for you?

                        Why I choose this question?
I choose this question because it will help me see if I
have met my specification, and it would let me
actually see I If have enough contents and if it was
                  Yes
been that I didn't’t I could easily do something about
                  No
it. These helps me create an understanding of wat my
                        customers want

                        Results?
As you can everyone thought there was enough
contents present, so I didn’t ave to make any changes
and it showed I have met my specification
 Yes No
 10 0
4. Do you like the fonts used?
                        Why I choose this question?
This question also links in well with the
professionalism of my magazine asking this questions
helps me to create and understanding of what my
target market actually thinks of my magazine
                  Yes
                  No
                        Results?
As you can see from the graph 100 percent of people
thought that the fonts I have used are good, this
shows that I have met my specification

 Yes No
 10 0
5. Does the magazine capture you eye?
                       Why I choose this question?
In my specification I wanted to create a magazine that
would capture someonce eye, so asking the question
helped me understand if I was meeting my
                       specification
                 Yes
                 No
                       Results?
My result is that everyone thought that my magazine
was eye catching so this proves that I met one of my
                       specifications

 Yes No
 10 0
6. Do the photos suit the genre used in the
       magazine?

                           Why I choose this question?
This was a very important question because it is in my
specification, but there would be no point for me to
create a magazine which doesn't’t even appeal to my
Yes target audicance because no one would buy it
                     No
                           Results?
As you can see there was only one person who
thought that my magazine didn't’t suit my genre.
Getting this information has shown me that if I was to
create a magazine I would defiantly look into my
target audience more then I have
 Yes No

In what ways does your media product use, develop or
challenge forms and conventions of real media
products?
Conventions –
Conventions are the standard layout of any magazine you will see on a rack. Most magazines follow these convention
because this is the proven way of how to capture the audiences eye. For example big bold writing on the cover of a
magazine is used a lot to capture the audiences eye, as you probably know your self using this type of font really stands
out.
I have my self followed these convention and twisted them to suit my target audience, if I wasn’t to follow these
conventions my magazine could of turned out to be a failure because it wouldn't’t draw any attention.
I have followed conventions by using a certain layout, colour scheme and font scheme, which is used main stream
within other magazines
Layout –
I have kept to the simple look of a big header with a few other coversine's as well as a large picture in the back ground
which still over laps over some of the cover lines this gives the sense of depth, this tends to attract the audience which I
have proven in my survey
Colors –
I have kept to a contrast of colors which blend well together but I haven't gone over the top, I have used the colors
red, white and black, these colors blends very well together, but they are still different enough to add contrast and
attract to the audience. The red attracts peoples eyes so I have used it one the front cover in my title
Font –
I have used conventional large font for all titles so it grabs the readers attention you can see this a lot in other
magazines, I have chosen to use a broken font so it still fits within my target audience and the look of my magazine.
Conventional magazines use new fonts all the time to help attract readers attention
How does your media product represent
particular social groups?
My Focus Group-
My focus group was based on people that fits within my target audience I have chosen this sample of people because
these are the people who I am trying to appeal towards.
My target audience is a mixed gender but I am focusing at people who like acoustic music so these are typically the
once who are more outgoing. So I have looked at existing magazines and took tiny bits aay from them and I have used
them within my own magazine, and I had this analyzed by my target audience.
Construction
Fonts – I have compared font styles to see which one was the best to use on my magazine. I went for a font called rock
for my front cover I did this because it was all broken up and looked like it would appeal to my taget audience, I choose
to enlarge this font so it capture the readers eye more so tht the reader isntly realises that this magazine is targeting
them.

Evalutation

  • 3. Survey Questions 1. Do you think it looks professional? 2. Are the colors used suitable for the genere? 3. Is there enough contents there for you? 4. Do you like the fonts used? 5. Does the magazine capture you eye? 6. Do the photos suite the genre used in the magazine?
  • 4. Chosen Sample I have chosen to use a sample of teenagers because since my actul magazine was aimed at those type of people it will be best if I used them for my sample, I might also include at a later date such things as a different survey which I can produce for a different sample of people I decided to use 10 people in my survey and then I can work out a advrage I have made sure every question they answer is relevent and fits the need to put against my specification I made at the begging of my project it will make it easy for me to compare.
  • 5. 1. Do you think it looks professional? Why I choose this question? I chose to use this question because a successful magazine always looks professional and that is what I Yes am going for and this question is also easily No measurable. It can also be intlinked into my specification which said that I must “produce and professional magazine” Results? As you can see from my results above 100% of young people said that the magazine they looked at was Yes No professional. This shows that I have met one of my 10 0 specifications, the specification said “To produce a magazine which looked professional” and as you can see this has been for filled. Since it looks professional it helps me deliver a succefull magazine which others will enjoy
  • 6. 2. Are the colors used suitable for the genre? Why I choose this question? I choose this question because it enables me to mesure it against my specification for example my specification Yes was “to produce a magazine which was eye catchy and No suited my genre” with asking the question it will mean that I will see if I weas successful or not. Results? As you can see from my results above 100% of young people said that the suited the genre I was aiming at which is good because it proves that I have produced a Yes No succesfull magazine in this respect 10 0
  • 7. 3. Is there enough contents there for you? Why I choose this question? I choose this question because it will help me see if I have met my specification, and it would let me actually see I If have enough contents and if it was Yes been that I didn't’t I could easily do something about No it. These helps me create an understanding of wat my customers want Results? As you can everyone thought there was enough contents present, so I didn’t ave to make any changes and it showed I have met my specification Yes No 10 0
  • 8. 4. Do you like the fonts used? Why I choose this question? This question also links in well with the professionalism of my magazine asking this questions helps me to create and understanding of what my target market actually thinks of my magazine Yes No Results? As you can see from the graph 100 percent of people thought that the fonts I have used are good, this shows that I have met my specification Yes No 10 0
  • 9. 5. Does the magazine capture you eye? Why I choose this question? In my specification I wanted to create a magazine that would capture someonce eye, so asking the question helped me understand if I was meeting my specification Yes No Results? My result is that everyone thought that my magazine was eye catching so this proves that I met one of my specifications Yes No 10 0
  • 10. 6. Do the photos suit the genre used in the magazine? Why I choose this question? This was a very important question because it is in my specification, but there would be no point for me to create a magazine which doesn't’t even appeal to my Yes target audicance because no one would buy it No Results? As you can see there was only one person who thought that my magazine didn't’t suit my genre. Getting this information has shown me that if I was to create a magazine I would defiantly look into my target audience more then I have Yes No 9 1
  • 11. In what ways does your media product use, develop or challenge forms and conventions of real media products? Conventions – Conventions are the standard layout of any magazine you will see on a rack. Most magazines follow these convention because this is the proven way of how to capture the audiences eye. For example big bold writing on the cover of a magazine is used a lot to capture the audiences eye, as you probably know your self using this type of font really stands out. I have my self followed these convention and twisted them to suit my target audience, if I wasn’t to follow these conventions my magazine could of turned out to be a failure because it wouldn't’t draw any attention. I have followed conventions by using a certain layout, colour scheme and font scheme, which is used main stream within other magazines Layout – I have kept to the simple look of a big header with a few other coversine's as well as a large picture in the back ground which still over laps over some of the cover lines this gives the sense of depth, this tends to attract the audience which I have proven in my survey Colors – I have kept to a contrast of colors which blend well together but I haven't gone over the top, I have used the colors red, white and black, these colors blends very well together, but they are still different enough to add contrast and attract to the audience. The red attracts peoples eyes so I have used it one the front cover in my title Font – I have used conventional large font for all titles so it grabs the readers attention you can see this a lot in other magazines, I have chosen to use a broken font so it still fits within my target audience and the look of my magazine. Conventional magazines use new fonts all the time to help attract readers attention
  • 12. How does your media product represent particular social groups? My Focus Group- My focus group was based on people that fits within my target audience I have chosen this sample of people because these are the people who I am trying to appeal towards. My target audience is a mixed gender but I am focusing at people who like acoustic music so these are typically the once who are more outgoing. So I have looked at existing magazines and took tiny bits aay from them and I have used them within my own magazine, and I had this analyzed by my target audience. Construction Fonts – I have compared font styles to see which one was the best to use on my magazine. I went for a font called rock for my front cover I did this because it was all broken up and looked like it would appeal to my taget audience, I choose to enlarge this font so it capture the readers eye more so tht the reader isntly realises that this magazine is targeting them.
