1. The use of new media technologies within our product

IMAC and Final Cut Pro Throughout the planning , research, construction and evaluation stages we used various different forms of new media technologies, to enable our product to be as advanced and successful as possible. we used an IMAC this enabled us to use various different programs simply without the need for a big editing suite. we also had our first attempt at using final cut, at first it was quite a drastic change from Imovie, yet as we got further into our project, we realised it really benefited us, in terms of what we could do with it. The timeline, was very helpful as it enabled us to edit footage to perfect timing. We were able to play around with the colouring of a lot of the shots more intricately, for example, the scene in the park kept changing colour, one minute it would be dark and gloomy and the next it would be really bright, this was due to the changes in weather when filming, however with final cut we were able to match the brightness of all the shots and make it look realistic and not bleached out.

4. Blogspot Another new media technology we used was Blogspot. it was extremely instrumental in the success of our overall trailer as we were all able to put our own ideas, on our separate blogs, then we could check each others and pull together all of our ideas to design a really creative product, rather than just one person giving ideas and all of us going along with it. we were also able to use different media products within our blogs, this enabled us to get to grips with things such as Slideshare. furthering our media knowledge. We also were able to use Blogspot to document all of the things that were happening during our production, so that we could keep everything up to date and in order. Blogspot also allows for the viral advertising of our trailer, allowing audiences worldwide to view and analyse our work. Through this we are able to gain different perspectives of our trailer.

6. Youtube We also used YouTube, another example of viral marketing. It was very useful to us in a number of different way's, we were able to upload and share our trailer at different stages of production, and were then able to post it on other sites such as facebook and tumblr to gain an audience reaction, and to pick up on faults that we altered to create the final peice. We were also able to upload our animatic and my audience feedback video onto YouTube, so that we could put it onto our blogs. from YouTube we were also able to convert songs we wanted to use for our trailer, this was helpful as it is a really quick and easy way of getting the songs we wanted.

8. Slideshare Another piece of media we used was slideshare, this enabled us, to create slide shows and present them on the Internet and on our blogs in a fun and easy to use form, when looking at our blog it gives it a creative look, rather than having to trawl through a tonne of text, you can flick through pages of informative images and writing. Slideshare also allowed for the information i was putting across to be more clearly distributed, a page for an image and a short explanation is all that is needed, this also allowed me to have everything organised in my mind. I was also able to look at other people's slideshare's to gain knowledge of how to use certain other programmes in the production process.

10. Photoshop For our ancillary task, the magazine cover and the poster, we used Photoshop to create a dazed and confused style for the magazine and a independent style for the poster. we were able to incorporate two photographs of Lizzie in the poster, and blend them together to achieve a similar style poster to one of our main influences, "my sisters keeper" although other photo editing software allowed for this sort of thing Photoshop allowed us to do things in alot more detail. for example using the extractor tool, to accurately remove the still shot of Lizzie on the beach to use in our magazine cover, we were then able to blur the edges to get a more precise and integrated look.
