- 3. Most of what was on my magazine cover was suggested to be put in by some students that I asked before having begun designing it. This means that I knew what interests most students would have and what would be interesting for them to read about in the magazine and therefore the cover lines on the cover and the article titles on the contents page were representative to students. How does your magazine represent particular social groups?
- 4. The articles on my contents page were suggested by those who answered my questionnaire and were representative because of this. There were some which I added, like ‘making money while at college’ because most college students are unable to have a well paying job because of the hours that can be worked and because of their age and the minimum wage and ‘college essentials’ because these are things which all college students would need. Because of these, it is representative of what most students would be interested in. How does your magazine represent particular social groups?
- 5. The photo on the front cover represents students because it is someone studying and this is what is associated with students the most often. I chose not to use a photo with a direct gaze because I found that if I wanted to also use the book to represent a student, he appeared to be distracted from reading and I didn’t want a student to be represented as being distracted. How does your magazine represent particular social groups?
- 6. The images which I added into my contents page were all linked to one of the articles along the left hand side and were therefore all representative of students. The photo at the bottom left hand side of the page was especially representative as it was taken within the college. How does your magazine represent particular social groups?

- 8. I am pleased with the colours on the front cover. I chose to take samples of the colours in the textbook and I used them for things like the puff background and the masthead. Despite the issues with the font; the masthead ‘college magazine’ would be seen from far away and is bright so would attract people’s attention and would be seen in a stack of other magazines. What aspects of your work are you pleased with and why?
- 9. I am pleased with the layout of the contents page. The photos which I used were spread out on the whole page and weren’t limited to one side of a third of the page. This also meant that the amount of text didn’t seem too long where there was any and it expanded along the page. What aspects of your work are you pleased with and why?

- 11. The font which I chose to use as my masthead could have been changed. It was seen as ‘less formal’ and ‘childish’ which would not be representative to students and may not be appealing for them What aspects of your work could be improved on and why? I could have also added a price to the magazine. This would have made it much more official. This could have appeared next to or underneath the barcode.
- 12. On the contents page, I had the Facebook logo and added the text ‘college magazine’ but it overlaps the picture. If I had seen this, it would have been much neater and would be better spaced. In the contents page, I added a photo which linked to the page ‘sports and movie updates’, however, in the photo I used movies which may be seen as ‘childish’ and this means that they may not represent students. What aspects of your work could be improved on and why?
