The student created a magazine that drew upon conventions from existing music magazine Q. For the front cover, the student used a similar pose and layout as Q, with the main picture and writing around it. For interior pages, the student included interviews and a contents page similar to Q's layout and use of photos, colors, and sections. The student chose the magazine's name "SWAGGA" to match the RnB music genre covered and made the title stand out like other magazines through font size, color, and placement behind the cover model.

2. MISE EN SCENE OF THE FRONT COVERThe magazine on the left is the magazine Iproduced on the right is a Q magazine Ibased my magazine on. The attitude in the faces of both models is the same. The way they are both not close up pictures makes them similar also. The way the writing is based around the pictures is also similar in both front covers. I used quite similar colours as I think they are cool but also attention grabbing. I think I managed quite well as I cut out my main picture and it looks professional.

3. People in the magazinesI realised the people used for the front covers of Q magazine where all ‘cool’ and looked like they had attitude. They where not smiley and happy and cheesy. I was more relaxed. I decided to go for the same thing when taking my pictures and making my front cover. Not many of the front covers contained props most it was just a person and a lot of attitude which i thought looked more professional and eye catching.

4. Written double page spreadI based the layout of the writing in my contents page on the bottom double page spread. I used columns like most magazines use, also I made the first letter big bold and a bright colour, similar to the bottom one. I also put a picture in between to break up the writing and to make it look more interesting. I added a quote and made it big and bold also like in a real professional magazine. I made the writing small as it looks more professional and is more like real magazines. Also I decided to do an interview for my double page spread as me and my friends prefer to read interviews in magazines, I think they attract attention more and make people want to buy the magazine.

5. Contents pageI chose to base my contents page on a Q magazine contents page. I think my contents page is similar to the professional one, the layout and the block colours with the titles are the same. Also I have used the ‘features’ and the ‘every month’ sections as I think they make the contents page clear and directly attract the readers attention. I have used a variety of pictures as I think they are important and in other magazines there is always at least one photo on the contents page.

6. Name of my magazineThe name of my magazine is SWAGGA, it isn’t like any of the existing magazine titles, however I think it is a suitable convenient name. I think it matches the music genre of my magazine, RnB as many RnB artists are known for having ‘swagga’. I decided to make my title stand out like all the existing magazines do, I made it a bright red/orange colour and I made it look more eye grabbing and interesting by making the font ‘28 days later’ that u got from dafont.com. I decided to use this website as it has a larger variety of fonts that are more eye catching. I decided to put the title behind the models head, however it is still clear to buyers what the title says and it still stands out.
