- 2. The Creation Process • In evaluation I think my creation process has gone smoothly. From the beginning when I was researching my genre and finding inspiration I managed to gain ideas and focus from the internet furthermore I found simple yet effective ways in portraying this (through mindmaps, powerpoints, prezis etc). I feel that I have successfully learnt how to use these new programmes and display my work creatively. • Further down the line came the recce, risk assessments and photoshoot where I went to my location with my actor. I found these trips went well as it was easy to get to and the weather was mild enough to shoot. The risks were easily overcome-able and the whole operation went by without any accidents. Overall I feel because of my extensive and detailed planning, my photoshoot went as well as it could have done and the photos benefited from this. • Lastly came the editing process and I have to say this was the trickiest part though I feel I learnt the most here. My Photoshop skills have been increased and I think I have managed to edit my photos the way I first pictured them though through learning I have been able to add more. Overall I believe I have come out with an advert and digipak that successfully fits my artist and genre
- 3. Strengths and Weaknesses • I think that a strength of my work is the strong theme of vintage and black and white that runs throughout the digipak and advert. I believe the two link together well and fall comfortably into the acoustic genre which is a goal I was trying to achieve. The fonts, photos and text on my work also fall under the genre and link together well to represent my artist. • However I feel a weakness of my work is that fact that I had to change the name when I got to the editing process as ‘Johnny 'was to long to fit onto my digipak well. As both the surname and forename were long in order to fit the, in I had to make the font smaller which made it less obvious who the album was by. As a result I had to change it to James which I believe still fits the genre but doesn’t match with my coursework. Another weakness would be that the font on my advert doesn't completely match the font on my digipak as I used DafFont and you can only print screen and edit the word out. This meant that I couldn't use it for large amounts of text which could potentially differentiate the advert from the digipak. If I could go back I would choose a more accessible font to use.
