What were the aims of the brief from your chosen charity
campaign, and did you achieve them?
 The aim of the brief was to make awareness to stop bulling. We have done this first by planning a pitch to
plan and explain what our campaign will be about and how we will film it.
 Our main aim was to make the campaign serious and for the audience to feel sorry for the victim,
however due to the fact that the role we different to the personality of the actors in real life, it made the
audience find the campaign film humorous which was a disadvantage to our campaign.
 The teacher filmed a pitch to demonstrate our ideas and themes on what exactly we would include in our
campaign film. This way, it would help us give feedback on what else we could add to potentially
persuade the audience on the specific campaign we have chosen.
 The pitch has been presented to the class for more audience to give us feed back on what we can
achieve. We had done our pitch the first time but it was not good enough as the presentation was not
detailed enough. Us as a group did not bond enough chemistry to make a presentation which is why we
had redone it.
 The second time we had achieved the script we had done it without Steven as he was happy with a level 2
pass, however the rest of us wanted to get at least a merit so we agreed to do it again to get a higher
grade.
What were your original ideas and how did these develop
throughout the project?
 Our original idea was to make Haseeb the victim as well as Richard and Steven as the
bullies. However we decided to changed this due to the fact that Richard went on a
New York trip and Steven was more able to do the victim role hence why we have
changed it.
 In our pitch we had mentioned the fact that Haseeb was the victim but it was a bit
tricky and a hard decision to change it last minute. However to make our campaign
film more better and more suitable for each role, we had decided to change it to gain
the extra marks but ideally that was the initial idea.
 Haseeb wanted to be the main character inside the film hence why we had stuck to the
idea at first however, Haseeb did not look like the victim but he looked more like a
bully. As I mentioned above Richards absence made Haseeb the only bully which
allowed Richard to edit the clip when he had gotten back from his holiday.
How well did you plan out your short film? Evaluate strengths
and weaknesses
Strength
 The audience had liked how the transition worked out using different transitions.
In our campaign film we have included different editing techniques to go from
one scene to the next.
 The story was very clear as Haseeb was the bully and Steven was the victim. The
main aim was for Haseeb to hurt Steven which gave the audience an idea what
character roles where which.
 Like the different camera shots taken such as close up, birds eye view this allowed
the audience to watch a professional campaign as a list of different camera shots
were shown to make it more eye catching for the viewer.
How well did you plan out your short film? Evaluate strengths
and weaknesses
Weaknesses
 The beginning section was not very clear as it shows a skip of a section of Haseeb
trying to hunt down Steven and a jump cut was made. Editing needed to improve in
that section.
 Music was not very clear as it felt as it was a horror film instead of a campaign advert.
This was a disadvantage as the music changes the mood and the atmosphere of the
film. People interpreted the film differently due to this reason.
 Happy music was also shown when the advert showed, ‘moments later’ which didn’t
really suit the situation of the film. As mentioned above, it changes the mood of the
film whereas it was meant to be a dramatic situation.
Which editing skills did you develop and how could you
improve in this area?
 We have included edits such as cuts to demonstrate the different shorts being
used to make it look like a professional advert. We also added a bit of continuous
editing to show more depth of the filming itself.
 We have also used transitions and effects to make the advert stand out more, we
have used transitions such as fade in and fade out to make the advert more
realistic to watch.
 We have also added music to make the atmosphere more better to watch and to
make it stand out.
