The document summarizes the student's evaluation of their research, planning, production, and film product for a school project. The strengths identified include experimenting with camera techniques during research, storyboarding to help visualize the film, and using tense music and visual effects. Weaknesses included difficulties with surveys during research and needing more detail in paperwork. Peer feedback praised the music, visual effects, and text message effect while noting the second text could be improved and camera work. The student agreed their effects were strengths but camera work and the second text were weaknesses.
Book Formatting: Quality Control Checks for DesignersConfidence Ago
This presentation was made to help designers who work in publishing houses or format books for printing ensure quality.
Quality control is vital to every industry. This is why every department in a company need create a method they use in ensuring quality. This, perhaps, will not only improve the quality of products and bring errors to the barest minimum, but take it to a near perfect finish.
It is beyond a moot point that a good book will somewhat be judged by its cover, but the content of the book remains king. No matter how beautiful the cover, if the quality of writing or presentation is off, that will be a reason for readers not to come back to the book or recommend it.
So, this presentation points designers to some important things that may be missed by an editor that they could eventually discover and call the attention of the editor.

3. The strengths of my research was looking at different types of films in my
specific genre such as shutter island and the departed. This helped me
research my product because it gives me a couple of ideas and techniques
that I could use in my film. Another strength of my research was actually
experimenting with different camera movements, techniques and camera
angles. This helped me in my research because it gave me a couple of
ideas of angles and camera movements.
The weaknesses of my research was doing surveys because it was quite
hard to think of questions and sometimes the people did’t take it seriously
and joked around. This can effect my work because I will be receiving false
information which will make my research wrong and incorrect. Also on my
survey I tented to focus on the consumers and what they like and because I
focused on the consumers I didn't’t really focus on my product so I would’t of
got any information on how u could make my idea better but instead I
focused on the consumers which in some way is good because I can see
what the consumer likes but what would have been good is if I got them to
look a bit deeper in my idea to see if they like it and if I need to change
anything because it is good to get a second opinion and they can say if
anything needs changing.
4. The strengths of my planning was doing was doing my concept and
my story board because this allowed me to visualise my film that I
want to make. This helped me a lot because I can set my scene on a
page and this will help me when I am filming because I will have a
piece of paper at the side of me so I will be able to place my actors
where they are placed on the concept and story board.
The weaknesses of my planning was doing all of the paperwork such
as the call sheet and health and safety form this took me for ages to
do. I could improve my paper work by adding a bit more detail into
them because if I ad more detail it will show that I have a good
knowledge on the subject. The effect on my product this will have is
to show that I know about health and safety. Also if I did the health
and safety form wrong then if someone gets injured then you will get
in trouble because you didn't’t fill in the health and safety form
properly.
5. I think I managed my time well because I
managed to film my film in a whole day and
then I edited my film in 2 days. This meant I
had a few days to do my evaluation and my
production reflection. I didn’t have any spare
time which was a bit annoying but it isn't the
end of the world
6. Here are a few medium shots that I have used
in my short film. The medium shots make the
scene tense. This is used really effectively
because you can see all of her features and
see what she is felling which might make the
audience feel tense. Another reason my I used
medium shots is to make sure that the
audiences focus on the character in shot.
In this medium shot they focus on on
character but lots of stuff is happening in
the background but the audience
watching the film still focus on the main
guy.
7. The audio that I used in my film makes the
whole film come together because it makes
the film tense and using the sound effects
makes the whole film great because it is a
bit more immersive. I have used so sound
effects such as knuckles cracking, phones
ringing and a tense soundtrack.
In Shutter Island there are lots of
immersive sound effects and audio. For
example in the movie the sound effects
that are used such as when he lights a
match you can hear the strike of the
match which makes the movie really
tense because all you can hear I the
strike of the match and along with the
sound track makes the whole movie
tense from start to end.
8. In my film the editing techniques I
used where jump cuts because this
makes the film fast paced and also
unexpected. Also I put the message
icon on the screen which makes it
easier for me to put my point across
because we weren't allowed to have
any speech in it .
In fight club is editing they use
where quite disorientating like at
the beginning it had flashes of
Brad Pitts character which shows
you he isn't real.
9. I think my film looked really good because with all of the effects
that I that I have used it makes the film a lot more pleasing to the
eye. Yes my film was creative because it was hard to think of
original and creative ideas but I did so it is very creative. I would
improve a couple of things such as some little tweaks in my
effects and I would do that by learning more on how to use
adobe aftereffects. The strengths of my aesthetics was the
flickering lights that I put in and the weakness was my second
texts message because it was a bit delayed and didn’t look as
good as the first one.
10. I have appealed to my target audience because the target audience
that I have chosen really like thrillers which is good for me because
the film I have made is a thriller. This appeals to the audience
because it has tension and action. Because my film appeals to the
audience it will make people come and watch my film.
12. What did you like about the product?
The tense music worked well
I liked the creative use of the bomb using old wires a lunchbox and a
phone
What improvements could have been made to the product?
I would probably make a more prevalent story line with a more clear
ending.
13. What did you like about the product?
The film’s music was a good choice for the genre of film. The
effects used to make the lights flicker was also a nice touch that
makes the situation that the character is in even less desirable. The
effect used on the text messages was really well done and the use
of the phone was a clever idea.
What improvements could have been made to the product?
What could have been improved upon was the second text
message. It was difficult to understand at first and I had to watch
the film several times to understand the meaning. This, however,
was the only issue in the entire film.
14. What did you like about the product?
The visual effects and the special effects used where really fitting to
your film especially the when the text popped up
What improvements could have been made to the product?
Your camera work needs to be a bit better but apart from that it was
a great piece of work
15. What do you agree with from your peer feedback?
I agree with the fact my music went well with the film because I
wanted some tension in my film. and the my visual effects where really
good.
What do you disagree with from your peer feedback?
I agree with the fact that my second text message wasn’t the best
looking at the fact that my camera work and quality wasn’t the
best.
