Harry-Stephen Weedall evaluated different software programs used to design and develop his school magazine. He used Premiere Pro to create a video with audio describing magazine cover codes and conventions. Photoshop allowed him to design the magazine's front cover by filling certain areas and leaving room for the title. Quark was also useful for designing the contents page, having familiar tools similar to Photoshop.

2. Introduction
Throughout designing and developing my school
magazine I came across a lot of new ways and
software that I can use for different things. For
example I used Premiere Pro to make a video
with audio to describe the different codes and
conventions that a Front cover magazine has. I
also used Photoshop and Quark to design my
own contents page and front cover for my
magazine.

3. Premiere Pro
When I used premiere it was completely new software to
me and at first I struggled to use it at first. However
over time I found out quicker ways to use it. I added
transitions pictures text etc. which is similar to
Microsoft PowerPoint however on Premiere I also
inserted audio and used a song in the background of
my presentation. This software allows you to use
different types of text and allows it to move fade in and
fade out. When you insert a picture you can also use
transitions and effects by selecting the image then
choosing the effects option, then the transitions and
selecting whichever one you want for example I used
‘dissolve.’

4. Photoshop
I used Photoshop to make my front cover page.
It was a new software but easy to get the hang
of. There where different tools such as the fill
tool that I do not usually use but helped me a
lot doing my design as you could choose
which part of the page I wanted to fill
therefore I left room for my title to make it
stand out more.

5. Quark
Quark was a good and fast software to use, it
had every tool I needed to design and create
my contents page for my school magazine. It
was quite similar to Photoshop which I had
used before so I was quite familiar with the
software and it was simple to upload onto my
blogger.
