3. PHOTOSHOP
▸Before beginning this project, I had never used Photoshop before to this
extent. I used online resources and my peers to help me figure out the
ways in which Photoshop worked. The first tasked implied we had to use
Photoshop to create a preliminary magazine front cover and contents
page. As simple as this first sounded, I did struggle to get used to this
software. However throughout the making process of using Photoshop it
became easier to edit the photos, add text and create a well thought out
layout. My photoshop skills have massively improved due to this project
and my passion for photography as the photos I used for my magazine
were edited on Photoshop in my spare time to make images that were
professional and to the best of my ability.

4. INDESIGN
▸Fortunately I had previously used InDesign before reading my double
page spread in my photography lesson in which I created a book.
However, I still learnt new tactics and features to this technological
software. For instance, I found out how to apply columns to a A3 page
splitting the page into 2 easily and having a clearer layout for when I
have to add my text and images. Using InDesign was quite straight
forward but making the actual double page spread appear professional
was the main challenge when using this software. But, the software was
reliable in making sure this was’t going to be too much of a problem,
therefore helping my double page spread look the way I wanted it to
without any disruption in the making production process.

5. POWERPOINT//KEYNOTE
▸I used PowerPoint and Keynote to organise my research and evaluation
process as it appealed to me more on the organisational side to my blog.
The powerpoint help structure my answers and findings in a clearer way
without it having to be one large segment of text, ensuring it to be easier to
read. Moreover, powerpoint is a tidy way of presenting work without it
becoming too busy and cramped, also it makes my project look and feel
more professional by using these different technologies to present work as a
media student myself. (This showing that I can use a range of media to a
certain extent).
▸*PLEASE NOTE* I used Keynote on an apple Mac, but exported the slides
into a PowerPoint in order for me to present it on SlideShare, later to embed.

6. PREZI
▸Prezi was a different and more fun way to present my
work as it isn’t the usual software, like PowerPoint, that
people will use. I had never used Prezi before this project
and was a slight challenge to figure out how I was to use
it entirely, however it was still relatively easy the more I
chose to use it in comparison to PowerPoint. This
software has a slight video feel to it as it simply flows
from one frame to another adding more movement to the
slides creating a interesting and new way to review work
and images as I used this previously in my evaluation and
when discussing my ideas for the photography elements
of the magazine ‘Riff’.

7. IMOVIE
▸I used the iMovie application to edit my interview I did with the
ideal Riff reader. First of all I recorded it on a recording device
on a tablet, then transferrer the audio into iMovie, then decided
to add images related to the actual content in the voice
recording. I had previously used iMovie whilst making short
videos and movie trailers for school work and in my free time as
it is something I have always enjoyed doing, so I wanted to
incorporate a video somewhere and an interview with someone
who ticks all the boxes of my ideal reader was something that I
felt would benefit me with my research.

8. YOUTUBE//SLIDESHARE
▸These 2 websites are what helped me embed my PowerPoints and
videos into my blog. I created a SlideShare account in which you
upload your powerpoint and can later “share” it with other people on
Facebook, Twitter and as I did, get an embed code to apply into the
HTML section of the post production in Blogger. On the other hand
Youtube was easier to understand as I have used Youtube on multiple
occasions, possibly daily, for music etc, however teaching myself how
to add a video to a blog post was something interesting and wish I had
done more of, however I don't think a video would fit with talking about
evaluating my product or research as an interview is so much more
easy to capture on tape than an entire explanation.
