Evaluation question 6
1.
2. Throughout the
research, planning, construction and
evaluation of my products I have used a
range of media materials in order to create a
sense of professionalism and to be able to
add detail to my products.
3. I used Photoshop widely throughout the construction of my
product, due to its wide range of tools available I believe this is why
my product looked as professional as it does.
I learnt the basic tools and how to use them such as putting strokes
on text, using the layer format, altering images by using the clone
stamp tool and the spot healing brush tool.
I also learnt the different forms a image needs to be to be able to go
into Photoshop e.g. JPEG.
I also learnt that I could create graphics or images on Photoshop and
export them to other programmes like in design and use them for
other pages for my product, I did this mainly on my double page
spread where I edited my images, altered the contrasts and made a
image arrangement where I then exported the arrangement to in
design.
I used Photoshop to construct mainly my front cover but also
features for my contents page as well as the majority of the image
arrangement for my DPS.
4. Here you can see I am using
the Adobe Photoshop
software in order to create
my front cover and put the
finishing touches to it.
5. In design is a programme similar to Photoshop in the sense that you
can create similar things with similar tools, however in design is
more altered for text based pages as it uses a 3 column template so
it reflects a more magazine or newspaper layout.
On in design I learnt many things, many of which are skills I have
further developed from Photoshop. These are things like text
tools, using strokes, altering sizes of texts as well as using the 3
column layout.
In design was mainly used to construct my contents page and my
DPS, however I did construct some graphics and alter some images
in Photoshop and export them to in design, I did this as Photoshop
has better tools for editing and in design had better told for layout.
Here I have used two technologies in conjunction in order to
construct my magazine to the best of my ability and
professionalism.
6. Here you can see I am using In
Design in order to create my DPS
and put in the finishing touches
and alterations after my feedback.
7. Prezi Is a website which promotes a PowerPoint system which
people can use for free. It uses pathways to follow through
the PowerPoint, this is a new way of presenting a
idea, concept or presentation.
I have used Prezi throughout my coursework from my
research and planning through to my evaluation of my
products.
I have learnt how to use different text types, graphics, images
and links within Prezi as well as how to make pathways.
I have learnt that Prezi is more visually pleasing to the eye
and is a new different way of presenting my ideas.
I have combined using Prezi with blogger as I post my Prezi
presentations into blogger.
8. Here you can see I am using
Prezi in one of my evaluation
questions.
9. In blogger I post all of the research and
planning, as well as the stages of
construction, my final products and my
evaluation.
I find it easy to use this way of presenting my
work as it is accessible, simple and easy to use to
present my work through, it also allows me to
present my work through many means of media.
As I have never used blogger before I have learnt
many things from using this form of technology
through my coursework.
10. Here I am using Blogger in order
to present my coursework through
different blog posts.
11. Windows movie maker is a programme which I used
in order to create videos to illustrate how I made my
magazine and the stages I went through.
I learnt how to add in new slides with images and
text, how to add in voiceovers of me speaking as well
as music to accompany slides on a video and I also
learnt and developed my skills in how to shorten and
lengthen the times of slides on the video.
I used this form of media in order to reflect my ideas
and work through a new intriguing way.
I also used windows movie maker alongside YouTube
to upload my videos which I then embedded Into
blogger.
12. Here I am using Windows Movie
Maker to create some of my
evaluation videos.
13. YouTube is a website where people can upload
videos of all types.
I used YouTube to upload my evaluation videos
but also as part of my research and planning as I
began to listen to bands that I would want to
feature in my magazine, which helped me get a
idea of the types of clothes these stars were
wearing through the music videos.
I have learnt how to upload videos into YouTube
and I have also learnt the file types videos have
to be in order to be uploaded.
I used YouTube in conjunction with Windows
Movie Maker in order to project my work through
different forms of media.
14. Here I am using YouTube to
upload my evaluation videos to
then link into my Blog.
15. Slide share is a website which you can upload
PowerPoint's just like I have done with this
one so you can use it through the internet.
When I have used slide share I learnt how to
upload my PowerPoint's to the website and
then how to embed then into a blogger post.
This again shows I have used different forms
of media in conjunction with each other but it
also shows I have learnt how to use many
new technologies and websites I have never
used before.
16. I am here uploading a
presentation into Slide Share
to then link to my Blog.
17. Before starting my media coursework I hadn't used a
camera this complex before, so I did some practice
with it trying to mimic professional shots which could
be used on a front cover which you will see on the
next slide.
Whilst using this camera I learnt the basics such as
taking basic images, using the tripod, using the flash
on some images, holding the camera correctly in
order to take professional images as well as being
able to use the camera at different levels like low
angle shot, high angle shot, mid shot and long shot.
I have the edited these images in Photoshop if there
were any imperfections or shadows to cut out. Here I
have used technologies in conjunction in order to
create the best professional images.
18.
19. Here you can see me using the
camera equipment from various
angles.
20. At the beginning of my coursework was the first
time I had used a Apple Mac before where I got
used to operating its system confidently after a
few hours, as I began to get used to the layout of
the Mac and where to find things I soon began to
feel comfortable with its programmes.
I learnt a lot about the Apple Mac’s such as how
to operate their programmes and the general
layout of the system, I also learnt the speciality
programmes such as image capture and many
others, I learnt how to convert file types and
many other operations on the Mac.
21. I am here logging onto my Mac
to begin working on my
magazine.
22. I used Glogster in my evaluation as I wanted to
answer my evaluation questions through many
media forms in order to show my creativity as
well as my confidence with operating many
different technologies.
Glogster is a website which allows you to create a
‘mood-board’ theme, I decided to use this when I
was answering evaluation questions.
I learnt how to import my own images as well as
images from Google and graphics from the
programme itself.
I then imported my mood board into my blog as
this is where I keep all my work.
23. I am using Glogster to create a
Mood Boar for one of my
evaluation questions.
24. Pixton is a website which allows you to create
comic book strips in order to develop a idea or
project a process of development through a
comic.
I learnt how to use this website as well as how to
add in comic characters and background comics
as well as taglines for each comic window.
I used Pixton for one of my evaluation questions
to demonstrate a production line for magazine
making, but I then also added it to a PowerPoint
which I then put into Slide Share which I linked
into the blog.
25. Here I am using Pixton to create
a comic strip for my evaluation
question.
