Euthanasia Essay
Crafting an essay on the subject of euthanasia is a complex undertaking that requires careful
consideration of various ethical, moral, legal, and medical aspects surrounding the controversial
topic. The difficulty arises from the need to present a balanced perspective that acknowledges
the diverse viewpoints while substantiating arguments with well-researched evidence.
Addressing the ethical dilemmas associated with the right to die, examining the cultural and
religious implications, and navigating through the legal landscape make this essay particularly
challenging. The writer must delve into medical aspects, exploring the fine line between relieving
unbearable suffering and the potential for misuse.
Furthermore, constructing a coherent and compelling narrative demands not only a deep
understanding of the subject matter but also a keen ability to convey complex ideas in a clear
and concise manner. The writer must navigate through emotionally charged language and
sentiments to maintain objectivity.
Additionally, the sensitivity of the topic necessitates empathy and respect for the perspectives of
various stakeholders, including patients, families, healthcare professionals, and policymakers.
Striking the right balance between empathy and analytical rigor is crucial to ensure a nuanced
and well-rounded exploration of the subject.
In conclusion, composing an essay on euthanasia requires meticulous research, ethical awareness,
and adept communication skills. The complexity of the topic demands a writer's commitment to
providing a comprehensive and unbiased analysis, respecting the multifaceted nature of the
debate.

Stadium Contracts
Wembley
Need to talk about criteria/ funding where the money came from
The Wembley stadium was built using a Design and build Procurement strategy. A
Design and build strategy is where a single contractor is responsible for both the
design and construction of the stadium. The client must specify the type of building
they require and the contractor proposes the best design to meet this, this information
was found at the web address Building.co.uk.
A design and build project allows the low risk factor as for the client has the
contractor takes on the risk by offering a fixed cost contract. The web address

The first Scottish parliament building was created in September 1997 after a
referendum in which people of Scotland voted by almost three to one. The client, the
Scottish government decided on building a complex building from a mixture of steel,
oak, and granite. The procurement route chosen by the Scottish government was
construction management. The web address www.parliament.uk explains the
procurement route chosen was to turn out to be the most significant decisions during
the project, and also states Construction management offers the advantage of speed
but with the disadvantage of price uncertainty until the last has been leased.
Construction management was chosen not only for allowing the project to be started
quickly and the reduction in overall construction. But the procurement route allows
for change in design during the project and problems are generally solved rather than
passed around the separate contractors.
Choosing construction management as a procurement strategy means the client is
responsible for leading the
North Pacific Gyre Research Paper
The North Pacific Gyre is one of the five major ocean gyres and one of the most
biggest too. It is roughly the size of Texas. This gyre is obviously located in the
northern Pacific Ocean. This gyre is often called the Great Pacific Garbage Patch.
An oceanic gyre is like a giant mass of water that is moved by the currents,
sometimes people compare them to vortexes. The North Pacific Gyre is created by
the currents of California, North Equatorial, Kuroshiro, and North Pacific Ocean.
These four currents move in a somewhat clockwise direction around an area of
about 7.7 million square miles. The area in the center of the gyre is the calmest and
this is where the debris collects and then it becomes trapped here and is often not
cleaned up. Most of the trash and things that are collected in the garbage patch can
not be broken down.
The actual garbage patch was predicted in a 1988 paper that was published by the
National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration of the United States. This
prediction was based off of results from several alaskan based researchers between
1985 and 1988. Charles J. Moore, returning home through the North Pacific Gyre
after competing in the Transpac sailing race in 1997, came upon an enormous ... Show

The other 20% will come from offshore oil rigs, boaters, and sometimes very large
cargo ships. The debris that appears at the Great Pacific Garbage Patch varies greatly.
There has been computer monitors, plastic, legos, bottle caps, plastic bags, and
even lots of fishing nets. All of this trash can cause major disruptions in marine food
webs and ecosystems. For example, the plastic could block the sunlight from getting
to the ocean plants, algae, and plankton, this will result in the producers to suffer and
then the animals that consume them will then be without a decent meal. The overall
outcome of this scenario would be a smaller access to seafood and this will cause
seafood prices to spike
Comparing Poems And Driving Late At Night
A respected American poet, William Stafford, is known for poems set outdoors on
mountainsides, roadsides or near rivers. In Stafford s, Traveling Through the Dark
, the setting is a rural road at nighttime in which the narrator describes finding a
dead deer on the road. Stafford describes the speaker s difficulty in deciding how to
proceed after finding the deer and eventually tells us that the deer is pushed into
the river. W.D.Snodgrass takes Stafford s poem and decomposes it into Driving
Late at Night . Like Stafford s poem, Snodgrass sets the action of his poem at night
and similarly has the narrator finding a dead animal on the road. In Snodgrass s
version the animal is also moved, however, it is thrown over a cliff rather than being
pushed into the river. The two poems are similar in that the speaker is driving at
night and both reference finding something dead on the road. Additionally, both
poems mention the difficult decision that has to be made regarding the movement of
the dead animal. The poems, although similar in theme, are very different in
wording, imagery and morality. Stafford s poem is superior to Snodgrass s in many
ways through his use of strong... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Stafford moves away from talking about the deer and talks about the car, its lights
and its exhaust. The car seems to become alive as its lights are lowered possibly
meaning that the car was sad. Additionally, the engine purred and the exhaust was
warm, seemingly indicating that the car was alive. The reader can almost hear the
sound of the car and feel its warmth. Stafford again tells us that he had a difficult
decision to make when he says, I thought hard for all of us , indicating he still
struggled with the morality of the situation. Snodgrass s poem uses very little
imagery as it tells an everyday story about errands that need to be run. He seems to
make a decision about what to do with the dead animal much more
Song Analysis Of The Song American Pie
Don McLean (1971) vs. Madonna (2000)
American Pie Don McLean
Don McLean sang the song American Pie very well. His voice is crystal clear
when he sang this song, and it sounds like he is pouring his heart into the song.
Don McLean has a very dynamic voice, which makes the song both very simple
and complex. He makes his voice quiet on serious verses and adds energy to the
song, which makes it a very unique song. The instruments that play during the song
are a piano, a drum set, and guitars. The music behind his voice is both simple and
complex, and the music compliments his voice very well. When Don McLean sings
the song, it sounds like he is telling a story and is reflecting on the death Buddy Holly

The Development Of Diabetes Mellitus
Specific cells of the pancreas produce a hormone called insulin to correct metabolism.
Without
this hormone, glucose cannot enter body cells and blood glucose levels rise. As a
result, the individual
may begin to experience symptoms of hyperglycemia. Plainly expressed, this process
is the
development of diabetes mellitus. Numbers have increased in recent years because so
many
Americans are overweight. Also, testing accuracy has improved, therefore confirming
more cases. The
number of people with diabetes is expected to double as more people live to middle
and old age. There
are a few different classifications of Diabetes. Two of the common ones are: *Type

This buildup of glucose in the blood is called hyperglycemia. The body is unable to
use the glucose for energy. This leads to the symptoms of type 1 diabetes.
The exact cause of type 1 diabetes is unknown. Most likely it is an autoimmune
disorder. This is a condition that occurs when the immune system mistakenly attacks
and destroys healthy body tissue. With type 1 diabetes, an infection or another
trigger causes the body to mistakenly attack the cells in the pancreas that make
insulin. The tendency to develop autoimmune diseases, including type 1 diabetes, is
hereditary. (Wisse, MD, 2015) The following symptoms may be the first signs of
type 1 diabetes. Or they may occur when blood sugar is high: being very thirsty,
feeling hungry ,feeling tired all the time ,having blurry eyesight, feeling numbness or
tingling in your feet, losing weight without trying, urinating more often (including
urinating at night or bed wetting in children who were dry overnight before) For
other people, these serious warning symptoms may be the first signs of type 1
diabetes. Or, they may happen when blood sugar is very high (diabetic ketoacidosis):
deep, rapid breathing, dry skin and mouth, flushed face, fruity breath odor, nausea or
vomiting; inability to keep down fluids, stomach pain.
Low blood sugar (hypoglycemia) can develop quickly in people with diabetes who
are taking insulin. Symptoms usually appear when a person s blood sugar level falls
Assistive Technology Theory
Theory of Action:
Many college students struggle with the reading, writing, and organizational skills
and competencies needed to perform at a high level in college. Assistive technology
is shown to improve the performance of students with disabilities in those areas. If we
introduce assistive technology solutions to all college students, their performance in
college level classes will increase leading to higher retention and graduation rates.

Math strategies for special education students Essay example
Special education students often lack the necessary mathematical skills needed to be
independently successful in the secondary classroom. These students face
challenges in applying the basic math skills needed as well as retaining basic math
skills from grade level to grade level. Lack of understanding, in addition to causing
classroom difficulties, can cause other personal and social dilemmas for the special
educationstudents. Lack of motivation, anger, lack of self value, and other disruptive
behaviors may occur as a result of the difficulties the special education students have
in the classroom. In order to help these students to overcome poor problem solving

LaRoque, Rueda, Serlin (2007) looked at the use of Enhanced Anchored Instruction
(EAI) to help boost problem solving skills of students with disabilities in the area of
math. EAI immerses students directly in problems that are delivered in a
combination of multimedia and hands on contexts (Bottge et al. 2007). EAI contains
three main parts, probing questions by the teachers to guide student understanding,
students working together in small groups to discuss and find solutions to problems,
and explicit instruction on skills and concepts by the teachers as the students need
them. During this particular study of EAI on math instruction, 100 students were
divided into groups. One group received math instruction using EAI methods while
the other group received instruction using the teachers typical methods. A pre test was
administered to both groups to gain a baseline of math experience and knowledge.
The math instruction using the EAI method used a video anchor to enhance
instruction. The use of technology in EAI provides students with learning disabilities
access to a wide range of math tasks that previously were unattainable due to learning
deficits (Maccini Strickland, 2010). The video gave students a visual representation
of the types of math problems they were working
Why Do Chinese Immigrants Move To Canada
The Railway Connecting a Country
Columbia became Canada sixth province in 1871 (Library and Archives Canada,
2009). An essential point in persuading the province to enter the Confederation was
a promise to build the railway; this railway would connect to the Pacific coast as
well as the rest of the country. Cutting through the Rocky Mountains was one of the
most difficult parts of building the Canadian Pacific Railway. At the time, there were
several reasons to employee Chinese immigrant workers. One of great importance
was the fact that Chinese immigrant workers were paid lower wages than Caucasian
workers. By using the Chinese immigrant workers, the estimated reduction in cost for
building the railway ranged between $3 million and $5 million. ... Show more content

With the amount of discrimination shown historically against immigrants of Chinese
decent, it would be expected that the Chinese would be disenfranchised with their
status in life; and in turn work outside of the law to get the advancement he/she
deserved (Chapin, 2012). However, this is not the case as the Chinese appear to be
content to keep their heads down and just do the work. The Chinese describe this
attitude as renming , meaning one who acknowledges his/her fate. As the Chinese
immigrant population is approaching a twenty percent share, the crime rate per capita
has decreased annually since 1991; when immigration was at its lowest (Zhang,
Essay about Hook Up Culture
College and universities have made great strides over the years. The campuses have
grown, and the resources have improved tremendously. However, it is questionable
if that social scene on these campuses has changed for the better over the years.
Work hard, party hard has become the motto of college students to live by. Students
spend the week focused on their academics, striving to grow as intellects. However,
the weekend becomes the time when students look to go out and socialize at the
various parties. And this is exactly what the weekend is for. With growing causal
party scenes, college students have been more inclined to have a casual relationship
with the opposite sex. Traditional dating on college campuses is rarely seen anymore

Boston College freshmen, Caroline Gray says, I think college kids are under a
false conception that they have to hook up with as many people as they can to have
a good time, when I believe that we can get more satisfaction out of caring and being
cared for and by one person. So, what happens when someone desires something
more?
The majority of the time the person who is left longing for more than just a casual
hookup is the female. Women, by nature, are more likely to become more
emotionally attached, especially when it comes to sexual activities. However,
most of the time, girls will be willing to play along with the game of hooking up.
Perhaps, in hopes, that it will someday lead to something more. But, if and when it
doesn t, they can be left emotionally distraught. Girls will become attached to the
person they are with and grow to have a sincere care for them. However, when it
comes to picking a mate, boys are not as particular about the girl. A study, Age and
gender differences in mate selection criteria for various involvement levels found
that men should be equally as selective as women with respect to long term mates,
but less selective than woman with respect to short term mates criteria (Kenrick).
Boys are less likely to think about all aspects of girl when planning on hooking up
with her, unlike girls. They are not as particular because they are just looking for
The Chinese Exclusion Act In 1882
The Chinese Exclusion Act in 1882 is a Congressional Act passed by congress and
signed by President Chester A. Author prohibiting Chinese laborers (skilled and
unskilled) from coming to the United States for ten years. If Chinamen did not
have proper identification then they would face deportation, this caused the
Chinese population to drop drastically. This act was created due to racism and
white racial superiority, negative stigmas of Chinese people, low job availability
and the envy of Chinese labor. The Chinese Must Go , a play written in 1879 that
displays how white people viewed Chinese people during this time. The beginning of
the script is written as if a Chinese man was speaking but it was obviously written by

The World Of Collegiate Athletics
The world of collegiate athletics was founded upon the ideals of commercialism and
is filled with talented athletes that contain tremendous amounts of potential.
Unfortunately, in order to bring in revenue that serves as crucial funding for their
universities nationwide, the NCAA exploits the talent of these players and justifies
this action by assuming the disguise of amateurism while also managing to adopt an
indistinct version of professionalism. Instead, the NCAA spends portions of its
revenue in order to renovate sports facilities and pay members of the coaching staff
rather than providing compensation for the main sources of its revenue the players
and the attention that their athletic talents bring to this organization. By... Show more

By regarding participation in collegiate athletics as a hobby, the NCAA is subtly
discrediting both the hard work and dedication of college athletes. In their defense,
the association of college athletics with the word amateurism is believed to call
these athletes to also put an emphasis on their education. Even though collegiate
athletics appear to be managed under the principles of amateurism and call athletes
to focus on their education, it doesn t necessarily mean that most of these athletes
actually want to emphasize education more than athletics. As talented individuals,
college athletes work hard in order to provide success for their respective teams
and to properly ensure their own success at the next level. Not only does an
education that is forced upon some of them detract from their athletic aspirations,
but it also makes it highly infeasible for them to sustain a job that regular college
students have the chance to partake in. That is why a small form of compensation
from the NCAA would not only reward them for the mass amounts of revenue that
they bring in, but it would also provide a source of income that could only be
obtained if these athletes were able to pursue job opportunities.

What Is Thin Layer Chromatography
FUNDAMENTAL UNITS OF LIFE ARE found in molecules consisting of amino
acids. In the center of every amino acid is an О± carbon with an amino group, a
carboxy group, a hydrogen, and a side chain group (R group) attached to it. The
difference in side chain groups (R groups) is what distinguishes the different amino
acids. If an amino acidhas a positively charged (+) side chain, it is a basic amino acid.
If an amino acid has a negatively charged ( ) side chain, it is a acidic amino acid. If
an amino acid has a polar side chain its categorized as a polar amino acid, and if it
had a nonpolar side chain is is categorized as a nonpolar amino acid. There are two

It can give the polarity of that solution, reactivity of the solution, the phase of the
reaction of the solution and the hydrophobicity of the solution. With this, one can
determine the type of bonds in a solution relative to the other solutions as well as
relative to the developer. There are three steps to the process of Thin Layer
Chromatography; spotting, development (mobile phase), and visualization. During
the spotting process solution(s) is/are dabbed with a capillary tube on the origin
line of the TLC sheet to the required amount to give a starting point. TLC sheets
have a polar silica gel on them which will react with the dabbed solution(s). The
more polar the solution the more it will react with the polar silica gel. Once placed
in the developer tank the mobile phase begins, as the somewhat polar developer
(less polar than the silica gel) will move up the the TLC sheet through capillary
action. The amino acids that are more hydrophobic will move along with the
developer upward and away from the silica gel whereas the more hydrophilic
amino acids will be more attracted to the polar silica and will move less than
hydrophobic amino acids which are more attracted to the mobile phase caused by
the developer. The solvent front is determined when the developer has almost
reached to top of the TLC sheet. It is important to avoid it reaching to top, because
it can cause a skew in data if allowed. The amino acids that are first to reach the top
will sit at the top while the other less hydrophobic amino acids will get closer
causing a skewed perspective in polarities between the amino acids at the top and the
rest. After this the TLC sheet is removed, the solvent front is drawn, and the sheet
now needs to dry. The next step in the development phase is helpful when identifying
differences in amino acids. The TLC sheet is sprayed with ninhydrin which
catabolizes the amino acids, then
Essay about Socrates Argument with Crito
Socrates Argument with Crito
Socrates has presented a period of questions and answers through dialogue with
Crito to examine if he going into exile will damage his reputation. Socrates questions
and answers with Crito establishes that a person must decide whether the society he
or she lives has a just reasoning behind it s own standards of right and wrong and that
a person must have pride in the life that he or she leads. By confirming these two
concepts through questions, Socrates attempted to prove to his companion Crito, that
the choice that he has made is just: I am the kind of man who listens only to the
argument that on reflection seems best to me. I cannot, now that this fate has come
upon me, discard the arguments I used; ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
By living in Athen for 70 years Socrates has agreed to have faith in the cities
virtues and in the force of decisions that are imposed upon him and as a citizen he
respects them. Any person that disobeys these laws deliberately attempts to
destroy these laws and the society that has created them: However, that whoever of
you remains when he sees how we conduct our trials and manage the city in other
ways, has in fact come to an agreement with us to obey our instructions. (51e). If
the decisions of the city are not respected as honourable, the structure of that
civilization will fall to pieces. If a person is found violating the standards of his or
her society and does not accept the consequences of his or her actions there can t
be a system of law that construct order. You must either persuade it or obey its
orders, and endure in silence whatever it instructs you to endure, whether blows or
bonds, and if it leads you into war or be wounded or killed you must obey. (51b)
Socrates adjusts these theories to the option to escape from his captors and abandon
their conclusion on his future. Crito begins to understand Socrates view in his
suggestion. the only valid consideration is whether we should be acting rightly in
giving with the escape, or whether in truth we shall do wrong in doing all this. (49c)
Socrates concludes that if he followed Crito s advice he would be committing several
dishonest actions against his own society that were

For non valvular AF with CHAD2S2 Vasc score 2 or more than 2, benefits of oral
anti coagulation therapy (OAC) exceeds risk as shown in several studies.

approaches for anti coagulation depending on several factors including but not
limited to patient s age, safety, bleeding risks etc. For patients with score of 0, the
risk of anti coagulation outweighs the benefits, so no anti coagulation is needed.
Based on these findings, OAC is class 1 indication for patients with CHA2DS2 VASc

Traditionally, warfarinhas been the drug of choice for long term anti coagulation in

coagulants (NOACs) are available for long term anti coagulation in AF. These drugs
inactivate both circulating and clot bound activated coagulation factors.(see figure 1
for mechanism of action). The two major class of NOAC available are direct
thrombin inhibitor (DTI) and factor Xa inhibitor. Parenteral direct thrombin
inhibitors include bivalirudin, argatroban and lepirudin. Oral direct thrombin
inhibitors include dabigatran. Oral factor Xa inhibitors
The Battle Of The War I
Rushabh Shah
History 162B
Paper 1
While recruiting men to fight in World War I, the British Army appealed to ideals of
masculinity, bravery, patriotism and nationalism. This form of propaganda was
intended to shape the public s views, and shape their decisions to revolve around
political, gender, and social identity. Thousands of young British men like Siegfried
Sassoon went into World War Iwith this idealism. The bloodshed found there came
as a tremendous shock, as the war was unlike the image portrayed; the modern war
was different and horrifying. It was during the First World War that literature from
these soldiers was developed as a result of the increase in education levels amongst
the British soldiers and public in the years ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Using graphic detail and bitter imagery, Sassoon expressed the contrast between the
beautiful nature and the destruction of the war. Sassoon begins by using details and
poetic language to describe the beauty of the surroundings, almost to reflect upon the
attractive and heroic image of war portrayed through propaganda. This then contrasts
sharply with the graphic and detailed description of the battlefield. His clever use of
vocabulary was employed with great effect often using words that had more than one
definite meaning. In the third line he describes the sun smoldering through spouts of
drifting smoke that shroud . The word smoldering evokes a clear image of the sun
being covered by this thick infected smoke, and used in conjunction with the word
shroud gives the reader an idea of obscurity within the battlefield. On a deeper level,
shroud is a metaphor expressing the concealing nature of the smoke to hide the reality
of the war. The menacing scarred slope creates a dark, threatening image reflecting
the fear these soldiers endured in battle. Although the poem starts of relatively slow, it
builds momentum with each new line. Sassoon successfully creates a sense of
suspense, imitating the continuous anticipation of attack these soldiers endured. The
Sports Performance Increases With Team Cohesion
As sport performance increases with team cohesion, it is important to understand the
factors influencing team cohesion. Our purpose is to understand how leaders
influence the sport team s cohesion both by their behaviour and their role within the
team. Two types of behaviour are assessed: initiating structure behaviour and
consideration behaviour. Within a team, both coaches and fellow athletes may act as
leaders. The influence of these leaders, in their specific role, whether as coachor as a
fellow athlete, is analyzed. It is determined that in order for a team to have strong
cohesion, the leaders play an important role in highlighting the importance of the
individual players while providing structure, friendship, training, instruction, decision
making, social support, and positive feedback to produce overall team cohesion.

Renewable Energy On The Uav Essay
What the renewable energy is?
Renewable energy is energy or power that is created from natural resources such as
wind power, oceanic waves, and the sun. These resources can be used to replace
other energy generators such as electricity and gasoline.
The aim:
On this project aiming is to use renewable energy on the UAV , therefore, it will be
able to fly for longer distance without needs of landing for recharging or filled with
fuel.
In addition to that, solar panels are the reasonable solution for that which we can
categorize these panels into:
Polycrystalline
Monocrystalline
Hybrid
All Black
These types of panels have different standard and verity of reducing energy, also they
are hard panels and heavy which could produce a great amount of energy and
mostly are used for house usages .However, Ececom Flexible panels give us this
option to have a very lighter weight and great energy to be used on the UAV. Table 1
shows the details of these panels:

A Dialogue On Language By Martin Heidegger
In Martin Heidegger s A Dialogue on Language, in On the Way to Language, an
Inquirer and a Japanese man discuss the dangers of examining concepts between
languages. They discuss the Japanese term Iki, which is impossible to translate into
Western languages, much like how aesthetics doesn t apply to East Asian concepts.
But since both Japanese and German originally came from the same source, the
Inquirer suggests that one must return to the beginning of languageto fully understand
the magnitude of concepts only present in one specific language. Laozi, in his
Daodejing, believes that the best way to teach is without words, echoing Heidegger s
point about returning to the beginning of language. This is also a concept in Zen
Master Dogen s Moon in a Dewdrop, since nonsense is used as a way in which to
achieve enlightenment, much like how the word Iki seems to a westerner. Heidegger
discusses the danger of different languages and the solution of returning to the
beginning in his On the Way to Language; a solution which can be interpreted into
Laozi s Daodejing and Dogen s Moon in a Dewdrop as examples of the solution.
Towards the beginning of the dialogue, the Inquirer and the Japanese man talk about
a constant sense of danger which Count Kuki, too, could not overcome (Heidegger,
3). This danger, as later explained, is that everyone is influenced by their native
languages, or else languages they speak. For example, the Japanese man (as well as
Count Kuki) is familiar

places while in college. Those who gave her this insight on the college experience
neglected to tell her that life gets more challenging than high school. In high school,
Kanis Grady knew her surroundings, family was there to help her, and the work

Kanis Grady has transitioned well to her university s environment, including food, but

Plessy V. Ferguson Case
The Plessy v. Ferguson case generated nationwide contention in the United States
exclusively because the outcome would decisively affect every citizen in the country.
This case was the spark that ignited the flame in our nation that led to the
desegregation of schools. Plessy vs. Ferguson elucidated the racial inequality evident
in the educational system at that time and brought to light the standard of the
separate but equaland how it affected both races. The struggle to achieve equality
was made even more difficult by the legislation of racismin the Plessy v Ferguson

Ferguson because of the many protests that occurred. Groups of white people
protested that the segregation laws should remain the same and that they shouldn t be

been marked throughout history.
Even after the Plessy v. Ferguson case, there were many examples of post racism
that occurred throughout history. In fact, there were so many events going on that
an author even used examples of racism and the events that were happening in the
world in her book. An author named Harper Lee wrote a book called To Kill A
Mockingbird. The book was set in the 1930 s and during that time, racism was very
strong. During this time, the Jim Crow laws and the Ku Klux Klan were a big part of
the racial activity going on during the 1930 s. In To Kill A Mockingbird, there
many example that showed great amounts of racism and the doctrine separate but
equal. Some of these examples include, the Tom Robinson case and how the book
shows the separation of African Americans and whites in many places. The Tom
Robinson case shows a great example of separate but equal. In the book, Tom
Robinson is falsely accused for raping a white woman. Throughout the court case,
Tom was told that he was guilty numerous times just because he was black. During
the court case, Atticus says, Which, gentleman, we know is in itself a lie as black as

A Summary On The Pestle Of Renault
PESTEL is analytical instrument that identifies and analyses the external influences

external and internal factors that need to be taken into account in order to accomplish
any organisations intiatives. The term PESTEL refers to the: Political, Economic,
Social, Technological, Environmental and Legal factors. These factors are significant
especially in the global automobileindustry where billions of several large brands are
competing for market share. Since its foundation in the 19th century, this sector has
increased and become an important aspect of today s economy in terms of revenue. In
this essay, the organisation of Renaultwill be presented.
The French automobile manufacturer Renault takes its name from Fouis Renault, the
company s founder, and is currently the fourth largest automaker in the world. It was
created by Fouis, Marcel, and Fernand Renault, and also Thomas Evert and Julian
Wyer, with Fouis Renault being the main force behind the SociГ©tГ© Renault

the aim of curbing the production. (Histoire de France). By its activities Renault is
now one of the most significant automobile firms, that is capable to adapt itself in
several contexts from 1898 until today. (Jean Louis Loubet).

Dupuy begins her own interpretation of Obama s situation while in office, in her

A second argument occurred when Nate and Sheila played ping pong. Sheila
accused Nate of being too competitive during the game. Later when Sheila refused to
hold his hand, Nate felt disrespected and said he doesn t have it in him to stay with
Shelia. After that second argument about an activity, Nate said he is changing his
mind about Sheila. He said the future of their marriage is not looking too good.
Some people on social media seem to think that even though Sheila said it was fine
for Tyree to live with them, she is probably thinking about the situation in the back of
her mind, and her resentment is coming out through the activities with Nate.
The preview for Thursday s episode shows Nate and Sheila arguing. Sheila cries and
leaves the room. Nate is heard talking to the cameras saying he doesn t think he will

Visual Culture Of The First Three Lectures
Assignment 1
a) On the basis of the first three lectures provide three images of visual culture and
use them to describe what visual culture is.
Visual culture describes the aspects, things and objects, in our world made to be
looked at. It is most often associated with art however could include advertisements,
books, buildings etc.
Figure 1 is a photograph of the facade of the Portal of Last Judgement, Notre Dame.
The carving is a representation of a she devil urinating on a cardinal, pope, and a
king. This is an example of visual culture as its purpose is to be viewed. This carving
dates back to the early 13th century before the new technologies of vision. With the
introduction of photography, television and social media coupled with the boom of
consumerism, contemporary visual culture was born.
Contemporary visual culture involves an extremely broad range of mediums due to
the technology at hand today. With computer technology, artists are capable of
manipulating and creating images in ways that were once inconceivable. Figure 2
was made digitally in Adobe Illustrator and Photoshop . This image demonstrates
how contemporary visual culture has morphed from traditional mediums such as
painting and sculpting, into something more commercial and easy to circulate.
Figure 2 is an album cover designed to be easily recognisable, it s been made as
something to look at however it also serves a purpose as a form of advertising,

people who comes forward as volunteer will deliver good performance. Therefore, I

People do not have the time to keep up with what you are doing. Quite honestly,
people have difficulty keeping up with themselves much less anyone else. In fact, if
you are not in their face on a constant basis, you will be largely forgotten. You

organized business with it s innovative business strategies. Case description The
case primarily discusses about the sustainable operations strategies in the USA
and how they can be successfully moulded for the ever growing Chinese Market.
Pressure was mounting on wal mart, as there was a hue and cry of being power

better initiatives. The organization was facing increased public criticism on
account of a few issues. It was being blamed in issues like contention over low
health benefits for its workers and gender discriminations in internal promotions. It s
image was tarnished as there were many accusations. In an attempt to portray a
better public image, the idea of sustainable operations was floated by the company .
The outcomes of the continuous deliberation was 3 categories of projects Quick

Innovative projects (which would provide the stakeholders prospective gains within
one to three years), and finally the Game changers (Which would take a long time to

The Differences Between Civil Litigation Procedure And...
The Differences between Civil Litigation Procedures and Criminal Litigation
Procedures: Because the public has suffered as a result of a crime committed by an
individual or group breaking the law, the United States brings criminal action and
they are represented in court by a public official who is known as, as a district
attorney, public prosecutor, or United States Attorney. The jurisdiction of each court
affects the types of crimes that are presented there. Courts that have limited
jurisdiction prosecute lesser crimes (misdemeanors) and courts of general
jurisdiction try more serious offenses (felonies). In civil actions an individual or a
group has caused harm to another and they go to court to seek compensation for the
harm caused. The injured party is called the plaintiff and they ask the court to grant
damages in the form of a monetary payment. Some jurisdictions allow for juryto hear
the trial. If neither party requests a jury, the judge renders a judgment after hearing
both sides. In civil actions, the party who brings in action must present a
preponderance of evidence.
Steps in a Criminal Procedure:
Arrest: An individual files a complaint with law enforcement, the judge signs the
warrant and law enforcement can then make an arrest. An officer can make an arrest
if there is probable cause and a grand jury must be convened to determine whether to
charge or indict the alleged criminal perpetrator.
Bail: After the accused is taken into custody, the court may

People often prefer to believe that it s possible to hide pieces of ourselves that we
don t want people to see. And the fact is what we want to hide from others is
something that we fear to face ourselves. The less we face these parts of ourselves,
the more they hurt us. Learning about ourselves and facing all the facts of
ourselves, especially those that we strive not to see, is the key to integration with
ourselves, as well as connecting with other people. The less fluidity within ourselves

our relationships when blocked avenues explode.
Facing ourselves and integrating with ourselves will open the door to more

Social anxiety generally stems from the fear of being seen by others the fear that

In the French poem, the Romance of the Rose, Lady Reason states Happy is the
man who learns from his folly, (De Lorris and De Meun, 46). Lady Reason s
statement is true for the Lover in the Romance of the Rose. Folly are the mistakes
caused by one s foolishness; in this case, the Lover s folly is his impatience with the
rose. Happiness is when a man succeeds in attaining his desire; in which the Lover
does so by obtaining the rose in a chivalry manner. Therefore, through chivalry,
courtesy, and love, the Lover was able to be happy by learning from his folly.
Moreover, this is significant because this shows the audience, specifically men, on
how to love and how to display courtly behavior. The Lover s folly, or mistakes
caused by his... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The God of Love instructs the Lover to keep yourself from pride, for he who has
understanding and discernment knows that pride is foolish and sinful, therefore,
the God of Love is suggesting that pride is a man s folly (34). Furthermore, he is
teaching the Lover to also be generous and light hearted. He also advices the Lover
to not paint your face or wear make up, because by doing so, he will be unmanly
(33). Thus, this shows that by learning from his folly or his act of impatience, the
Lover was able to achieve happiness in the end because he learned proper chivalry.
The teaching of chivalry in the Romance of the Rose is significant because it is as if
the God of Love, or better yet the narrators, are teaching men on how to display
chivalry behavior, which is important in a new courtly world. Thus, this also
displayed that chivalry can now be learned. Another quality that the Lover learns
from his folly, in order to attain happiness, is courtesy, or the inside behavior
between men and women. Along with chivalry, the Lover also learns ways to be
courteous. As his teacher, the God of Love tells the Lover be courteous and
approachable, speaking gently and reasonably to high and low alike, (32). This
shows that the God of Love is not only teaching the Lover to have chivalry, but also
courtesy. By having courtesy, towards the woman, he will be able to achieve
happiness, which is when he
Narrative Consequences Of Trade In Mel Gibson s
Apocalypto
We can presume that populations of human beings have been expending their
time, energy, and resources to acquire valuable commodities to trade for a very
long time. This quintessentially human behavior bolsters social bonds in ways
that would have been a great boon to the survival chances of an individual or tribe.
In the movie Apocalypto , the early minutes depict two tribes of people coming
into contact for the first time. The potentially deadly levels of tension were eased
with a simple greeting from an elder tribesman and an exchange of boar meat for
fish. Narrative elements aside, this is a fantastic recreation of the likely roots of
commerce . But, those times are long gone. These simple acts of reciprocation
evolved drastically... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
When the Second World War was ending in 1945 the Allies met in Crimea for the
Yalta Conference to discuss plans for post War Europe. Stalin had come prepared.
He used the stratagem of setting the meeting s location nearer to his homeland than
the homes of the other negotiating parties to exacerbate their discomfort with jet
lag. This also happened to be when Franklin Roosevelt was nearing the end of his
life, a time when negotiating skill would logically suffer. With the other members
of the Big Three either run down or deathly ill, Stalin must have known he was
likely to receive more concessions than he would have otherwise. As underhanded as
this trick was, it was mild when juxtaposed with his geopolitical maneuvers. Earlier
that year, the Soviets acknowledged the Communist Polish government before the
Yalta talks even began, to better position themselves to create a Pro Russian
government in a neighboring country. FDR and Churchill recognized the threat of
this bold move to capitalist markets, but USSR occupation of Poland deprived them
of options. The world leaders met again at the Potsdam conference years later when
the war was nearly won. The question of what to do with Germany was on the
agenda, and it was an especially tricky question. Secretary of War Stimson believed
that returning economic stability to Germany would be in
The Hobbit Bilbo Baggins
When the eccentric hobbit Bilbo Baggins leaves his home in the Shire, he gives
his greatest treasure to his heir Frodo: a magic ring that makes its wearer invisible.
Because of the difficulty Bilbo has in giving the ring away, his friend the wizard
Gandalf the Grey suspects that the ring is more than it appears. Some years later,
Gandalf reveals to Frodo that the ring is in fact the One Ring, forged by Sauronthe
Dark Lord thousands of years before to enable him to dominate and enslave all of
Middle earth. Gandalf tells Frodo that the Ring must be destroyed to defeat Sauron
s evil, but he also warns him that the Enemy has learned of the Ring s whereabouts
from the creature Gollum and will seek to find it and kill its bearer. Despite the
danger and hopelessness of the quest, Frodo accepts the burden and resolves to take
the Ring to the safety of the elven stronghold of Rivendell.
Frodo sets off with three companions, fellow hobbits Merry, Pippin, and Sam. After
a series of close calls and misadventures, where they are saved only by the timely
intervention of the mysterious Tom Bombadil, they reach the town of Bree. The
innkeeper delivers a letter from Gandalf recommending a weather beaten Ranger

Reflection For Classroom Learning
To learn this week s material, answer the discussion post, program the programming
assignment, and get a good grade on the self quiz, I studied the learning material for
almost 6 hours a day. I find if fun to sit down with the learning material, which was
chapters one and two, and take notes during all my free time.
My reactions to the learning material chapters one and two are so much information,
that I didn t have enough time to read the optional learning material, or watch the
optional video lectures. Chapters one and two are more than 100 pages of reading
material; however, I did have time to read the NetBeans tutorials.
I m still waiting for feedback to my discussion posts. I may have gotten my
discussion post done early. There were only 3 or four other discussion posts posted
previous to me entering in my discussion response in the discussion forum.
However, I gave these three other students responses posts to their discussion posts,
where I gave good grades for using learning material vocabulary and learning material
insight to what the definitions of four operators are( ++ , != , , and %= ).
I m a little dis heartened right now. The reason for my discouragement is my
computer may have a glitch. Certain mathematical operations are fouled up by some
malicious code, and when I multiply variables by 10 (in Netbeans and other IDEs), I
get erroneous decimal places added onto my figures.
This week, I learned how to setup NetBeans, how to discern basic fundemental
programming blocks of java, how to setup java variables, how to control the flow of
execution with branches and loops, how to test for conditions with operators, how to
build classes, how to use installed classes like String and Math, how to use installed
subroutines with string and Math, what the size of primitive data types are(short, int,
long, float, double, char, and ), how to use enums, etc. ...almost too much to list in
one paragraph, here.
What causes me to wonder is the built in methods of the String function, the built in
methods of the Math library, and string formatting options. I want to make a website
out of these built in classes and their subroutines. If I mastered these classes and
subroutines, I would be a better
Basketball Shoes Essay
Basketball is a sport that relies a lot on the player s footwork. You will realize that
athletes in basketball normally make sharp cuts, jump around and move in all
directions in a quick manner. The player must wear the right basketball shoes in
order to do this. This will give the player a god opportunity to succeed in this game.
The right pair of basketballshoes will provide the desired protection, traction and
avoid injury while on the court. This is the reason why you should pick the right pair
of basketball shoes. There are several things that you should consider when choosing
the right basketball shoes. These include:
1. The shoe size.
It is important that you know your shoe size before buying a pair of basketball shoes.
If you are not ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
You will realize that there might be shoes that could be appealing to the eye but
are not comfortable to wear. If you choose a pair of basketball shoes that does not
fit you well, your feet are likely to have sores. It can be very painful to cut and make
quick movements on the basketball court. The looks of the shoe can trick you to
think that you can handle the discomfort. This can be detrimental. You always go for
comfort while buying these shoes.
4. Ankle support
You will realize that ankle injuries are frequent injuries suffered by most basketball
players. If you want to mitigate this problem, you should invest in basketball shoes
that provide ankle support. In this case, you should choose mid top and high tip
shoes. However, if you decide to wear low top shoes and you have a history of ankle
injuries. You should consider buying a low profile ankle brace for additional ankle
support.
5. Durability.
It is important that you choose durable basketball shoes. You should choose a
durable pair of shoes so that it can last longer. Some basketball shoes can be cheap
but are not durable. They might last a month or two. This means that you have to buy
others after a few months. This can be costly. You should invest in a shoe that can
support you throughout the basketball
Women In Greek Mythology
To begin, there is a strong difference in the way that men treated women in Greek
mythology to the way that men treat women today. The way that men treated
women in Greek Mythology was very poor and a woman s main job was to supply
her husband with a baby. An online source states, the top priority of these women
was to get pregnant and bear healthy babies for their husbands (Frederick John
Kluth, The role of women in ancient Greek art ). This quote shows how men
mainly used women for children and that is all. While women were pregnant in
Greek mythology, female servants were hired to do all of their cooking and
cleaning. Some of these servants even had to do sexual favors for the husband. This
shows that women were easily replaceable and... Show more content on

Zeus did not even think to ask Demeter for permission before promising their
daughter to Hades. This shows how little Demeter s opinion meant to Zeus. Zeus
knew that he could do whatever he wanted and get away with it since he is a Greek
God. This is also similar to what happened between Gaia and Ouranos. In this myth,
Ouranos puts Gaia s children in the underworld because he was afraid of them.
Ouranos did not ask Gaia for her permission and did not care how hurt Gaia would
be after losing her children. In Greek mythology, a woman s opinion meant very
little. Today, men treat women very differently. Women and men have equal rights
and women actually have more rights than men when it comes to children,
especially during a divorce. In an online article it states, In divorce court, women
are seen as generally favored over men on issues related to their children, provide
they are fit parents ( Mothers Rights What You Need to Know ). Not only are
women starting to have more rights with children, but also more women are working
more and more outside of their homes. Many women are getting jobs out of the house
and more men are starting to stay at home with the
The Early Life Of Saint Elizabeth Of The Visitation
So Abraham received what God promised because he waited patiently for it. That s
what Hebrews 6:15 says. Just like Abraham, Saint Elizabeth was patient and gained
what she had longed for through the grace of God. Imagine that you are Saint
Elizabeth. You are disappointed that you were never blessed with a child, but you
never become bitter from it. You are always humble and put God first. You and
Zechariah pray every day for a child. Your prayers are never answered, but you still
remain faithful to God. SaintElizabeth of the Visitation, who is still venerated in the
Church today, was the cousin of Mary, the mother of John the Baptist, and the first to
acknowledge the importance Mary s pregnancy.
Little is known about Saint Elizabeth s early life. She was born in the 1st century
BC ( Saint Elizabeth of the Visitation 5). She was a descendant of Aaron, Moses
brother ( Elizabeth (Biblical person) 4). Her mother was named Sobe, and Mary s
mother was Anne, which made Elizabeth and Mary cousins ( Elizabeth (Biblical
person) 3). Elizabeth is also known as Elisabeth or Elisheva (which was also Aaron s
wife s name) ( Elizabeth (Biblical person) 1). In Hebrew
(ЧђЦ±ЧњЦґЧ™Ч©Ц¶ЧЃЧ‘Ц·Чў), Elizabeth s name means, An oath to my God (
Elizabeth (Biblical person ) 1). She lived in the hill country near Judea with her
husband Zechariah ( Elizabeth (Biblical person) 6). Elizabeth became a saint because
of her actions and through the help of many different people. Saint Elizabeth s last few

a subject that people normally choose sides in, claiming to be are either pro or anti
gun control. Yet, researching more on this topic, I have found that most of our
politicians are completely biased and do not even look at facts completely, only
taking out what they believe is necessary. They are even saying false information to
everyone. Our current president, Donald J Trump, has claimed that he is anti gun

The Hobbit Movie Vs Book
One Dwarf. Two Dwarf.Three Dwarf. Beorn!
ВЁThe HobbitВЁ written by J.R.R Tolkien, movie directed by Peter Jackson is a
tale that tells of a party who longs to reclaim their long forgotten gold, and how
characters develop throughout the story. This storyline is of twelve dwarves, a
wizard, and one hobbit going on an adventure. An adventure of a mountain full of
treasure and frightening beings. When Beorn, (someone who helps the dwarves
survive during the quest) is first introduced, he is introduced as a man in the book
and is, really important ,but in the movie he is introduced as a creature that takes the
form of a bear. The changes that director Peter Jackson made are effective because, it

Tolkien s intent on including Beorn in the book is to allow the dwarves to be in a
situation of which they can not decide their own fate; that it is up to Beorn to help
them or not to help them. Beorn is portrayed as the antagonist in this particular
scene in the movie because of the frightening music and the dull, dark lighting ,and
the way his character looks. Jackson did this to, in a way, trick the viewers. In order
to have this done he had to make Beorn act and look unpredictable. This was to
create suspense about the film. Overall, he he had to look scarey but then reasonable.
Those who disagree believe that the book was better: for some yes. It is better
because they have a vivid imagination. It allows people to have the opportunity to try
reading for once and experience that same feeling readers get with noses in boo
In conclusion, the novel and movie are about greed in the world, how people take
things for granted, and how a destitute people reclaim their home. The movie is better
because there is more action and unimaginative people can still experience the same
excitement of the tale just like the imaginative people who read the book do. The
author uses these themes throughout the story line. However, the exciting action
scenes and the dramatic music in the background allows viewers to feel the emotions
of the movie and its

We explore the Equity Value s sensitivity to the discount rate as well as to the
projected growth rate. This sensitity is shown in Table . Using the baseline
assumptions (WACC=8.5%, growth rate=2%), we arrive at a base equity level
without synergies of $46.41 per share. However, this value is quite sensitive to both
the WACC and growth rates. The overall spectrum of base values ranges from $27.75
/share to $73.42/share, with the baseline assumptions falling squarely in the middle.
Table 4: Per Share Equity Value without Syergies
Value of the Cost Synergies
To be able to recognize the cost synergies, Dow had to incur a one time cost of $1.3
billion spread over two years. Dow also stated that it would take 2 years for them to
fully recoginize the cost synergies. We found that $800 million of cost synergies
would be worth and additional $32.18 per Rohm and Haas share.
Value of the Growth Synergies
Growth Synergies are estimated to be between $2B and $2.6B based on expanded
market porfolios, increased geographic reach and innovative technologies. We
assume that these Growth Synergies would also take two years to completely
recognize. The equity value per Rohm and Haas share is stated in the table below to

On November 22, 1963 President John F. Kennedy was attending a parade in

Governor Connally survived his injuries despite having a clasp lung. Lee Harvey

arresting King for trivial reasons such as doing 30mph in a 25 zone, sitting in
white places, civil rights marches, boycotting the busses etceteras. In all he went to
jail over 30 times. (Lindop 82) It didn t stop there the FBI or at least the head of
the FBI, Jay Edgar Hoover, even hated King. Nobody hated Martin Luther King
more than J. Edgar Hoover (Clarke 255) King was well aware that the FBI was, as
he put it, out to break me. (Melanson 134) That was obvious being that the FBI used
many man hours in harassing King. King life was threatened by the FBI about 50
times and harassed enough to literally have entire books on the subject. A primary
example of this is when the FBI dubbed a phony tape of King with another women
and used to blackmail King into committing suicide. In January of 1968, three months
before the assassination, an internal memo was distributed by Hoover calling for, the
Removal of King from the national scene. After all the harassment King endured he
still refused to retaliate in any illegal acts which continued to infuriate authorities.

3 Types Of Menu Analysis
At some point in life, you will enter a restaurant where you will meet a certain type
of waitress. Although there are many different types of waitresses, with different
skills, and different personalities, there are three types that stick out in my mind, a
good waitress, a bad waitress, and an overly attentive and annoying waitress. These
three different categories of waitresses are what you might experience going out to
eat and what will make your decision to return to that restaurant or stay away from
that restaurant easier. A goodwaitress has excellent people skills. When they come to

When they come to your table they mumble their names if they even tell you their

usually have to ask about the daily specials or what the soup of the day is. You can
usually tell that a bad waitress doesn t enjoy their job or interacting with people,
they rarely have a smile on their face. Their job is more of a chore then something
they enjoy. They also usually get your order wrong, and are nowhere when you re in
need of something such as a drink refill. They are the type to drop your food and run,
never to be seen again until they return to deliver your check. If you have a
problem with something, you are usually flagging down someone else besides
your waitress to help you solve it. A bad waitress makes you feel unwanted and
rushed to get through your meal. Bad waitresses don t usually ask at the end of
your meal if they can get you anything else, or if you enjoyed your meal. You leave
the restaurant without leaving a good tip, which you even wonder if you should
have even left one at all. You think to yourself that you will never be back to that
restaurant. The final type of waitress is overly attentive and annoying. They are
chatty, annoying, and way too sweet and bubbly. They check on you more often than
they should, and seem to never leave you alone. It seems with these types of
waitresses, that just as you are starting a great

A Design and build strategy is where a single contractor is responsible for both the design and construction of the stadium. The client must specify the type of building they require and the contractor proposes the best design to meet this, this information was found at the web address Building.co.uk. A design and build project allows the low risk factor as for the client has the contractor takes on the risk by offering a fixed cost contract. The web address designbuild network.com states the original provision for a building cost was around ВЈ352m, with total project costs of ВЈ757m. A ... The first Scottish parliament building was created in September 1997 after a referendum in which people of Scotland voted by almost three to one. The client, the Scottish government decided on building a complex building from a mixture of steel, oak, and granite. The procurement route chosen by the Scottish government was construction management. The web address www.parliament.uk explains the procurement route chosen was to turn out to be the most significant decisions during the project, and also states Construction management offers the advantage of speed but with the disadvantage of price uncertainty until the last has been leased. Construction management was chosen not only for allowing the project to be started quickly and the reduction in overall construction. But the procurement route allows for change in design during the project and problems are generally solved rather than passed around the separate contractors. Choosing construction management as a procurement strategy means the client is responsible for leading the
  • 3. North Pacific Gyre Research Paper The North Pacific Gyre is one of the five major ocean gyres and one of the most biggest too. It is roughly the size of Texas. This gyre is obviously located in the northern Pacific Ocean. This gyre is often called the Great Pacific Garbage Patch. An oceanic gyre is like a giant mass of water that is moved by the currents, sometimes people compare them to vortexes. The North Pacific Gyre is created by the currents of California, North Equatorial, Kuroshiro, and North Pacific Ocean. These four currents move in a somewhat clockwise direction around an area of about 7.7 million square miles. The area in the center of the gyre is the calmest and this is where the debris collects and then it becomes trapped here and is often not cleaned up. Most of the trash and things that are collected in the garbage patch can not be broken down. The actual garbage patch was predicted in a 1988 paper that was published by the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration of the United States. This prediction was based off of results from several alaskan based researchers between 1985 and 1988. Charles J. Moore, returning home through the North Pacific Gyre after competing in the Transpac sailing race in 1997, came upon an enormous ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... The other 20% will come from offshore oil rigs, boaters, and sometimes very large cargo ships. The debris that appears at the Great Pacific Garbage Patch varies greatly. There has been computer monitors, plastic, legos, bottle caps, plastic bags, and even lots of fishing nets. All of this trash can cause major disruptions in marine food webs and ecosystems. For example, the plastic could block the sunlight from getting to the ocean plants, algae, and plankton, this will result in the producers to suffer and then the animals that consume them will then be without a decent meal. The overall outcome of this scenario would be a smaller access to seafood and this will cause seafood prices to spike
  • 4. Comparing Poems And Driving Late At Night A respected American poet, William Stafford, is known for poems set outdoors on mountainsides, roadsides or near rivers. In Stafford s, Traveling Through the Dark , the setting is a rural road at nighttime in which the narrator describes finding a dead deer on the road. Stafford describes the speaker s difficulty in deciding how to proceed after finding the deer and eventually tells us that the deer is pushed into the river. W.D.Snodgrass takes Stafford s poem and decomposes it into Driving Late at Night . Like Stafford s poem, Snodgrass sets the action of his poem at night and similarly has the narrator finding a dead animal on the road. In Snodgrass s version the animal is also moved, however, it is thrown over a cliff rather than being pushed into the river. The two poems are similar in that the speaker is driving at night and both reference finding something dead on the road. Additionally, both poems mention the difficult decision that has to be made regarding the movement of the dead animal. The poems, although similar in theme, are very different in wording, imagery and morality. Stafford s poem is superior to Snodgrass s in many ways through his use of strong... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Stafford moves away from talking about the deer and talks about the car, its lights and its exhaust. The car seems to become alive as its lights are lowered possibly meaning that the car was sad. Additionally, the engine purred and the exhaust was warm, seemingly indicating that the car was alive. The reader can almost hear the sound of the car and feel its warmth. Stafford again tells us that he had a difficult decision to make when he says, I thought hard for all of us , indicating he still struggled with the morality of the situation. Snodgrass s poem uses very little imagery as it tells an everyday story about errands that need to be run. He seems to make a decision about what to do with the dead animal much more
  • 5. Song Analysis Of The Song American Pie Don McLean (1971) vs. Madonna (2000) American Pie Don McLean Don McLean sang the song American Pie very well. His voice is crystal clear when he sang this song, and it sounds like he is pouring his heart into the song. Don McLean has a very dynamic voice, which makes the song both very simple and complex. He makes his voice quiet on serious verses and adds energy to the song, which makes it a very unique song. The instruments that play during the song are a piano, a drum set, and guitars. The music behind his voice is both simple and complex, and the music compliments his voice very well. When Don McLean sings the song, it sounds like he is telling a story and is reflecting on the death Buddy Holly . He also incorporates many historical

Without this hormone, glucose cannot enter body cells and blood glucose levels rise. As a result, the individual may begin to experience symptoms of hyperglycemia. With type 1 diabetes, an infection or another trigger causes the body to mistakenly attack the cells in the pancreas that make insulin. The tendency to develop autoimmune diseases, including type 1 diabetes, is hereditary. (Wisse, MD, 2015) The following symptoms may be the first signs of type 1 diabetes. Or they may occur when blood sugar is high: being very thirsty, feeling hungry ,feeling tired all the time ,having blurry eyesight, feeling numbness or tingling in your feet, losing weight without trying, urinating more often (including urinating at night or bed wetting in children who were dry overnight before) For other people, these serious warning symptoms may be the first signs of type 1 diabetes. The NCTM agreed that reform was needed areas such as basic skills instruction and instruction in problem solving (Bottge et al. 2007). Bottge, Kwon, LaRoque, Rueda, Serlin (2007) looked at the use of Enhanced Anchored Instruction (EAI) to help boost problem solving skills of students with disabilities in the area of math. EAI immerses students directly in problems that are delivered in a combination of multimedia and hands on contexts (Bottge et al. 2007). EAI contains three main parts, probing questions by the teachers to guide student understanding, students working together in small groups to discuss and find solutions to problems, and explicit instruction on skills and concepts by the teachers as the students need them. During this particular study of EAI on math instruction, 100 students were divided into groups. One group received math instruction using EAI methods while the other group received instruction using the teachers typical methods. A pre test was administered to both groups to gain a baseline of math experience and knowledge. The math instruction using the EAI method used a video anchor to enhance instruction. The use of technology in EAI provides students with learning disabilities access to a wide range of math tasks that previously were unattainable due to learning deficits (Maccini Strickland, 2010). The video gave students a visual representation of the types of math problems they were working

An essential point in persuading the province to enter the Confederation was a promise to build the railway; this railway would connect to the Pacific coast as well as the rest of the country. Cutting through the Rocky Mountains was one of the most difficult parts of building the Canadian Pacific Railway. At the time, there were several reasons to employee Chinese immigrant workers. So, what happens when someone desires something more? The majority of the time the person who is left longing for more than just a casual hookup is the female. Women, by nature, are more likely to become more emotionally attached, especially when it comes to sexual activities. However, most of the time, girls will be willing to play along with the game of hooking up. Perhaps, in hopes, that it will someday lead to something more. In their defense, the association of college athletics with the word amateurism is believed to call these athletes to also put an emphasis on their education. Even though collegiate athletics appear to be managed under the principles of amateurism and call athletes to focus on their education, it doesn t necessarily mean that most of these athletes actually want to emphasize education more than athletics. As talented individuals, college athletes work hard in order to provide success for their respective teams and to properly ensure their own success at the next level. It can give the polarity of that solution, reactivity of the solution, the phase of the reaction of the solution and the hydrophobicity of the solution. With this, one can determine the type of bonds in a solution relative to the other solutions as well as relative to the developer. There are three steps to the process of Thin Layer Chromatography; spotting, development (mobile phase), and visualization. During the spotting process solution(s) is/are dabbed with a capillary tube on the origin line of the TLC sheet to the required amount to give a starting point. TLC sheets have a polar silica gel on them which will react with the dabbed solution(s). The more polar the solution the more it will react with the polar silica gel. Once placed in the developer tank the mobile phase begins, as the somewhat polar developer (less polar than the silica gel) will move up the the TLC sheet through capillary action. The amino acids that are more hydrophobic will move along with the developer upward and away from the silica gel whereas the more hydrophilic amino acids will be more attracted to the polar silica and will move less than hydrophobic amino acids which are more attracted to the mobile phase caused by the developer. The solvent front is determined when the developer has almost reached to top of the TLC sheet. It is important to avoid it reaching to top, because it can cause a skew in data if allowed. The amino acids that are first to reach the top will sit at the top while the other less hydrophobic amino acids will get closer causing a skewed perspective in polarities between the amino acids at the top and the rest. After this the TLC sheet is removed, the solvent front is drawn, and the sheet now needs to dry. The next step in the development phase is helpful when identifying differences in amino acids. The TLC sheet is sprayed with ninhydrin which catabolizes the amino acids, then

The Battle Of The War I Rushabh Shah History 162B Paper 1 While recruiting men to fight in World War I, the British Army appealed to ideals of masculinity, bravery, patriotism and nationalism. This form of propaganda was intended to shape the public s views, and shape their decisions to revolve around political, gender, and social identity. Thousands of young British men like Siegfried Sassoon went into World War Iwith this idealism. The bloodshed found there came as a tremendous shock, as the war was unlike the image portrayed; the modern war was different and horrifying. It was during the First World War that literature from these soldiers was developed as a result of the increase in education levels amongst the British soldiers and public in the years ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Using graphic detail and bitter imagery, Sassoon expressed the contrast between the beautiful nature and the destruction of the war. Sassoon begins by using details and poetic language to describe the beauty of the surroundings, almost to reflect upon the attractive and heroic image of war portrayed through propaganda. This then contrasts sharply with the graphic and detailed description of the battlefield. His clever use of vocabulary was employed with great effect often using words that had more than one definite meaning. In the third line he describes the sun smoldering through spouts of drifting smoke that shroud . The word smoldering evokes a clear image of the sun being covered by this thick infected smoke, and used in conjunction with the word shroud gives the reader an idea of obscurity within the battlefield. On a deeper level, shroud is a metaphor expressing the concealing nature of the smoke to hide the reality of the war. The menacing scarred slope creates a dark, threatening image reflecting the fear these soldiers endured in battle. Although the poem starts of relatively slow, it builds momentum with each new line. Sassoon successfully creates a sense of suspense, imitating the continuous anticipation of attack these soldiers endured. The

They discuss the Japanese term Iki, which is impossible to translate into Western languages, much like how aesthetics doesn t apply to East Asian concepts. But since both Japanese and German originally came from the same source, the Inquirer suggests that one must return to the beginning of languageto fully understand the magnitude of concepts only present in one specific language. Laozi, in his Daodejing, believes that the best way to teach is without words, echoing Heidegger s point about returning to the beginning of language. This is also a concept in Zen Master Dogen s Moon in a Dewdrop, since nonsense is used as a way in which to achieve enlightenment, much like how the word Iki seems to a westerner. The Differences between Civil Litigation Procedures and Criminal Litigation Procedures: Because the public has suffered as a result of a crime committed by an individual or group breaking the law, the United States brings criminal action and they are represented in court by a public official who is known as, as a district attorney, public prosecutor, or United States Attorney. The jurisdiction of each court affects the types of crimes that are presented there. Courts that have limited jurisdiction prosecute lesser crimes (misdemeanors) and courts of general jurisdiction try more serious offenses (felonies). In civil actions an individual or a group has caused harm to another and they go to court to seek compensation for the harm caused. The injured party is called the plaintiff and they ask the court to grant damages in the form of a monetary payment. Some jurisdictions allow for juryto hear the trial. If neither party requests a jury, the judge renders a judgment after hearing both sides. In civil actions, the party who brings in action must present a preponderance of evidence. Steps in a Criminal Procedure: Arrest: An individual files a complaint with law enforcement, the judge signs the warrant and law enforcement can then make an arrest. Lady Reason s statement is true for the Lover in the Romance of the Rose. Folly are the mistakes caused by one s foolishness; in this case, the Lover s folly is his impatience with the rose. Happiness is when a man succeeds in attaining his desire; in which the Lover does so by obtaining the rose in a chivalry manner. Thus, this shows that by learning from his folly or his act of impatience, the Lover was able to achieve happiness in the end because he learned proper chivalry. The teaching of chivalry in the Romance of the Rose is significant because it is as if the God of Love, or better yet the narrators, are teaching men on how to display chivalry behavior, which is important in a new courtly world. Thus, this also displayed that chivalry can now be learned. Another quality that the Lover learns from his folly, in order to attain happiness, is courtesy, or the inside behavior between men and women. As his teacher, the God of Love tells the Lover be courteous and approachable, speaking gently and reasonably to high and low alike, (32). Gun control is a subject that people normally choose sides in, claiming to be are either pro or anti gun control. Yet, researching more on this topic, I have found that most of our politicians are completely biased and do not even look at facts completely, only taking out what they believe is necessary. They are even saying false information to everyone. Our current president, Donald J Trump, has claimed that he is anti gun control, but doing more research on him I discovered that he is saying statements that a pro gun gun control person would say. He is trying to gain votes by being anti gun... I believe that is a false accusation. This man could have purchased this weapon with a background check, because he was a guard. No one would know that he was going to commit a crime because of his job as a guard. There is no hard cold evidence that this man purchased a firearm without a background check, it is only a theory. A problem that is occurring because of this is the amounts of weapons being sold

This storyline is of twelve dwarves, a wizard, and one hobbit going on an adventure. An adventure of a mountain full of treasure and frightening beings. When Beorn, (someone who helps the dwarves survive during the quest) is first introduced, he is introduced as a man in the book and is, really important ,but in the movie he is introduced as a creature that takes the form of a bear. Tolkien s intent on including Beorn in the book is to allow the dwarves to be in a situation of which they can not decide their own fate; that it is up to Beorn to help them or not to help them. Beorn is portrayed as the antagonist in this particular scene in the movie because of the frightening music and the dull, dark lighting ,and the way his character looks. Jackson did this to, in a way, trick the viewers. In order to have this done he had to make Beorn act and look unpredictable. This was to create suspense about the film. Overall, he he had to look scarey but then reasonable. Those who disagree believe that the book was better: for some yes. It is better because they have a vivid imagination. It allows people to have the opportunity to try reading for once and experience that same feeling readers get with noses in boo In conclusion, the novel and movie are about greed in the world, how people take things for granted, and how a destitute people reclaim their home. The movie is better because there is more action and unimaginative people can still experience the same excitement of the tale just like the imaginative people who read the book do. The author uses these themes throughout the story line. However, the exciting action scenes and the dramatic music in the background allows viewers to feel the emotions of the movie and its

This sensitity is shown in Table . Using the baseline assumptions (WACC=8.5%, growth rate=2%), we arrive at a base equity level without synergies of $46.41 per share. However, this value is quite sensitive to both the WACC and growth rates. The overall spectrum of base values ranges from $27.75 /share to $73.42/share, with the baseline assumptions falling squarely in the middle. Table 4: Per Share Equity Value without Syergies Value of the Cost Synergies To be able to recognize the cost synergies, Dow had to incur a one time cost of $1.3 billion spread over two years. Dow also stated that it would take 2 years for them to fully recoginize the cost synergies. We found that $800 million of cost synergies would be worth and additional $32.18 per Rohm and Haas share. Value of the Growth Synergies Growth Synergies are estimated to be between $2B and $2.6B based on expanded market porfolios, increased geographic reach and innovative technologies. We assume that these Growth Synergies would also take two years to completely recognize. Although there are many different types of waitresses, with different skills, and different personalities, there are three types that stick out in my mind, a good waitress, a bad waitress, and an overly attentive and annoying waitress. These three different categories of waitresses are what you might experience going out to eat and what will make your decision to return to that restaurant or stay away from that restaurant easier. You can usually tell that a bad waitress doesn t enjoy their job or interacting with people, they rarely have a smile on their face. Their job is more of a chore then something they enjoy. They also usually get your order wrong, and are nowhere when you re in need of something such as a drink refill. They are the type to drop your food and run, never to be seen again until they return to deliver your check. If you have a problem with something, you are usually flagging down someone else besides your waitress to help you solve it. A bad waitress makes you feel unwanted and rushed to get through your meal. Bad waitresses don t usually ask at the end of your meal if they can get you anything else, or if you enjoyed your meal. You leave the restaurant without leaving a good tip, which you even wonder if you should have even left one at all. You think to yourself that you will never be back to that restaurant. The final type of waitress is overly attentive and annoying. They are chatty, annoying, and way too sweet and bubbly. They check on you more often than they should, and seem to never leave you alone.
