Creativity Essay
Crafting an essay on the subject of creativity is a task that demands a unique blend of analytical
thinking and imaginative expression. The challenge lies not only in presenting a comprehensive
understanding of the concept but also in infusing the piece with a creative flair that engages and
captivates the reader.
To begin with, defining and delving into the multifaceted nature of creativity requires extensive
research and a nuanced exploration of various perspectives. One must navigate through a
labyrinth of theories, psychological insights, and historical examples to construct a well-rounded
foundation. Unraveling the layers of creativity, from its cognitive processes to its societal
impact, demands a meticulous approach that delves into both the scientific and artistic realms.
Furthermore, expressing these intricate ideas in a coherent and compelling manner is another
hurdle. Balancing the analytical aspect with a creative narrative style adds an extra layer of
complexity. The writer must find a delicate equilibrium between rational arguments and
imaginative storytelling, seamlessly weaving together a tapestry of ideas that resonates with the
reader.
The challenge intensifies when attempting to break away from clichГ©s and conventional
wisdom. Creativity, by its very essence, demands a fresh perspective and an innovative approach
to the subject matter. Avoiding cliched expressions and tired tropes becomes imperative to
ensure the essay itself reflects the very creativity it seeks to explore.
In addition to the content, the essay's structure plays a crucial role. Creativity doesn't thrive in a
rigid framework, yet an essay requires a logical progression of ideas. Striking the right balance
between fluidity and coherence presents a formidable challenge. The writer must create a
narrative that flows seamlessly while maintaining a clear and organized structure.
In conclusion, crafting an essay on the theme of creativity demands not only an in-depth
understanding of the topic but also a creative prowess in presenting these ideas. It is a delicate
dance between intellect and imagination, research and expression. Yet, for those seeking
assistance, it's worth noting that HelpWriting.net offers a platform where similar essays and
much more can be ordered, providing a resource for those navigating the intricate landscape of
creative essay writing.

Benefits Of Co-Production In Canada
There is a wide range of benefits that a production company can advantage from when
it comes to small scale production, and/or following a path of co production. It can
stretch from communal nature to having more artistic independency on a project to
financial management. The Journals of Knud Rasmussen, a film made by an Inuit
production company presents these advantages. By using this approach these
production companies have more accessibility, and international success. This film
acts as a prime example to why films made in Canada can benefit from small scale
production, and co production.
The Journals of Knud Rasmussen documents the encounter between three Danish
explorers, and an Inuit community in Igloolik during the 1920 s. It focuses ... Show

The smaller crews allow for the rotation of roles, a closer intimate crew, and
democratic decision over the direction of the project. In larger scale production there
is higher demands from outside sources, and this limits the creative freedom of the
filmmaker. In Baltruschat s article she says, there has been an increase in the
opportunity of co production due to the demand for new indigenous films, and
television content. It is the new markets for this media that has opened up this
opportunity, and the use of new media in ways of distribution technologies, and
sophisticated digital production . These kinds of productions have an ease of
technology, and allows for the distribution to be international. This film shows the
advantage of having a small scale crew unit, because work closely with new media,
which helps with networking in order to gain recognition. As a small scale production
the need for specialists for a particular task is not required, instead the smaller crew
works collectively to put it all together. Although the filmmaker retains majority of
the creative decision, the crewmembers having knowledge of the entire production
rather than an individual aspect can contribute with ideas that are best suited to the
When Traveling Around The United States And
Experiencing
When traveling around the United States and experiencing new places, such as
visiting friends and family or taking a vacation from everyday life, there is new and
different scenery everywhere we go. In fact, there are 19,354 cities and towns in the
United States (Quora). They consist of distinct houses, streets, businessand of course
people all around. When navigating to these various places one will most likely
travel downtown. A downtown is a central area or main business and commercial
area part of a city or townthat attracts the public. Downtowns consist of
entertainment such restaurants, shops and bars and also business locations such as
insurance and realtor offices. The way this part of town is formed weather it is big

There are nearly 1,000 small business existing in Dewitt (Town Square
Publications). From observations, small town Dewitt doesn t offer much of liquor
stores nor tattoo parlors. The pedestrians of Dewitt show their interest in flowers,
cards, fashionable clothes and fine dining. Comparing the down towns of Dewitt and
Clinton Iowa, there is much contrast between the two. Searching for a bite to eat in
Clinton, many come across commercial business such as Culvers, Buffalo Wild
Wings and Village in. A leap from the small family owned business in Dewitt. A great
amount of liquor stores and pawns shops exist in Clinton compared to Dewitt. Larger
and more distinct places exist because of the larger population and the diversity of
people that demand them. Clinton has 2,000 businesses, which is much greater then
Dewitt. Overall, different types of business consist in both Dewitt and Clinton
because of the diverse people that live in each community.
Secondly, many receive a first impression of the downtown of a community by the
overall scenery that exists throughout. Observing Dewitt s downtown, a positive and
welcoming vibe is shown throughout. Things such as appealing brick sidewalks with
a broad width for everyone to walk on, flowing through the town and marvelous
music to enjoy while visiting the family owned shops. Dewitt s downtown is shaped
to be pleasant for all. As stated in an article A thriving downtown is important for
Dewitt s economy. The downtown area
Tom Ripley Symbolism
Tom Ripley isn t entirely sure of who he is, taking on the identity of multiple
characters to hide behind a mask of insecurity. We meet him in the beginning of
Patricia Highsmith s, The Talented Mr. Ripley taking on someone else s job as well
as pretending to be a well educated well mannered Princeton graduate. Tom Ripley
has gotten away with all his frauds, impersonations, and forgeries until his past comes
back to haunt him. His imagination runs wild as he imagines the horrible deeds he
has done manifesting into panic attacks and compulsions. Despite Tom Ripley being
an unlikeable character, he seems to capture the reader s attention by the end of the
story. Following Tom through his insecurities and thoughts, the reader soon realizes

He shows his clear dislike towards Tom sticking around forever as they travel to
San Remo. Toms desires to become Dickie are evident after this scene as Tom
stared at Dickie s closed eyelids. A crazy emotion of hate, of affection, of
impatience and frustration, was swelling in him, hampering his breathing. He
wanted to kill Dickie (Highsmith 95). Toms desire to be accepted clouds his
reasoning as he devises a sinister plan to kill and take over Dickie s life. Through
his thoughts, we find that he cannot differentiate between right and wrong.
Morality never plays a part in his decisions, as he s given a choice; let Dickie live
or take his identity. Because of Toms envy of Dickie s life, he demands his life,
most people would just be envious, but not Ripley. He has other plans. Tom has no
ability in making conscientious decisions. When he is faced with people he
dislikes, he thinks that the only reasonable way to deal with them is murder. As his
role as Dickie Greenleaf slowly comes to an end, after too many problems follow him

Skin Wrinkling Lab
2.Skin Wrinkling
Skin wrinkling is a natural evolution of the skin and it can be observed in the non
hairy (glabrous) parts of the hands and feet during water immersion. These wrinkles
are temporary and vanish after the skin is dry, unlike the permanent wrinkles on other
parts of the skin caused by aging or sunburn.
2.1 Physiology
There are hypotheses made about the physiology of water immersed wrinkling
considering it an osmotic swelling of the stratum corneum, increased deep tissue
turgor, and contraction of myoepithelial cells in the absence of sebaceous glands in
glabrous skin [1]. Tsai et al. [19] after an experiment conducted on fourteen healthy
participants in four different water solutions, believed that the skin wrinkling is caused

[9] showed the importance of heart rate variability in detecting water induced skin
wrinkling in an experiment involving young and healthy subjects. Heart rate
variability influences the sinus node making a directly connection with the
autonomic nervous system. Short term heart rate variability is used commonly as a
marker for autonomic function and the study showed that subjects with higher heart
rate variability also presented high water induced skin wrinkling. The study showed
that skin wrinkling can also be affected by the height of the subject due to the
possible reflexion of the surface are of the fingertip, allowing the water to diffuse
faster. In addition to this study, Kamran et al. [17] studied the effects on the skin
wrinkling for 60 patients with congestive heart failure. Results showed that the
degree of skin wrinkling is reduced in patients with congestive heart failure but also
affected by age and height and not by gender or weight.
2.3 Evoke and Evaluation
Because of this connection with vasoconstriction, water immersed wrinkling was
proposed, by other studies also, as a bedside test for sympathetic nerve function [1,
4 8, 59]. The fact that water induced skin wrinkling is cheap and simple, makes it
more easy for scientists to use. However, the test requires a 30 minute water

Despite the realized dangers, each actual dollar value of derivatives at present
supports between $35 and $70 of notional value. This means that minimal losses
from the face value would suffice to destroy even the best capitalized derivatives
traders (Sivy, 2013). Now, Asian economies begin to tap into the wealth of
opportunities provided by derivative transactions as well. Singapore and Malaysia
are leaders in the region with dedicated derivatives exchanges through the Singapore
Exchange and the Bursa Malaysia respectively. These exchanges facilitate the
increase of derivatives transactions with the SGX s derivatives daily average
volume growing 59% year on year during 2011 (JCN Newswire, 2013). Figure 1
illustrates the trend in volume of the derivatives exchange in terms of the number of

As these established exchanges continue to prosper, neighboring developing countries
such as the Philippines are also beginning to consider the creation of fully operational

For the financial sector, this means the introduction of new financial instruments.

Suppose an economy s real GDP is $30,000 in year 1 and $31,200 in year 2. What is
the growth rate of its real GDP?
[(31,200 30,000) / 30,000] * 100 = 4.00%
Assume that population is 100 in year 1 and 102 in year 2. What is the growth rate of
GDP per capita?
(30,000 / 100) = 300.00
(31,200 / 102) = 305.88

The Average Total Costgraph is the sum of average fixed cost plus average variable
cost. The shape of the graph is a hybrid of the average fixed cost and average variable
cost graphs. At any point on the X axis, the plot for average total cost will equal the
sum of average fixed cost plus average variable cost.
The Marginal Cost graph is a function of change in total cost divided by change in
quantity produced. Marginal cost is the added cost of producing one additional unit
of production, or the savings in not producing one additional unit. The graph
decreases until the fourth unit of production, and then increases rapidly, as marginal
cost is tied to total cost and is thus subject to the law of diminishing returns.
...Continued on next page
The Marginal Cost graph intersects the Average Total Cost graph and the Average
Variable Cost graphs at their minimum points. As long as the cost of producing one
additional unit remains less than average total cost, the average total cost continues
to fall. When marginal cost finally exceeds average total cost, average total cost
begins to rise in response. The same effect applies to the relationship between
marginal cost and average variable cost.

The Effects Of Homelessness
Love is Action
My eyes stare straight ahead, avoiding the homeless man s gaze. I can feel his
blank eyes watching me as I pass right by him. I silently hope he does not ask if I
have any money or food, which would force me to answer him. My feet shuffle past
him as I do my best to pretend he does not exist. This tragic situation may seem cruel,
but it happens thousands of times every day around the world. Alas, even those who
profess faith in Jesus Christ occasionally ignore those in need. However, God
clearly said in Proverbs 21:13 Whoever shuts their ears to the cry of the poor will
also cry out and not be answered. Witnessing the effects of homelessnessin person,
knowing the differences between the rich and the poor, and overcoming ... Show more

When we see how the homeless live, it helps us to show compassion with a
genuine concern. Acknowledging and overlooking the difference between the
poor and the rich can help us overcome discrimination. Looking past our societies
distorted images of being poor also improves how we care for the poor. However,
while looking after the physical needs of the less fortunate is very important, what
truly makes someone rich or poor is whether or not they have the radiant light of
Jesus abiding in their life. 1 John 3:17 18 says, But if anyone has the world s goods
and sees his brother in need, yet closes his heart against him, how does God s love
abide in him? Little children, let us not love in word or talk, but in deed and in truth.
Only identifying a need is not enough, we must act upon that need to properly show
the love of Jesus Christ and shine a light into a darkening
Salmon Rivalry
Salmon hatcheries have been operated for a variety of purposes throughout their its
history in this region, from harvest augmentation, to mitigation of habitat destruction,
to conservation and preservation of native populations. Despite this long history, we
are only just beginning to understand how hatchery raised fishinteract with and effect
wild populations of salmon. Research shows that captive bread salmon impact wild
salmon in a variety of ways, from competing with them directly for resources, to
reducing the fitness of wild populations through interbreeding between wild fish and
less fit hatchery fish. These findings have serious implications for the hatchery
industry, and as the focus of hatchery operation switches from augmentation... Show

Studies began to reveal that intermingling of hatchery bred and wild salmon often
happened to the detriment of wild salmon populations via excessive harvest,
competition and predation, and reduced fitness of wild individuals as a result of
interbreeding with captive bred individuals (Maynard and Trial 2013). These studies
will be the focus of the remainder of this paper. Regulations have been put in place to
reduce the risk of hatchery and wild salmon interacting, and new hatchery
management practices work to maintain genetic diversity and reproductive fitness
within hatchery stock as a genetic bank (Maynard and Trial 2013). These
management protocols are termed conservation preservation practices (Maynard and

Consequences Of Whistleblowing
Registered nurses (RNs) have an ethical duty to ensure patient safety by reporting
cases of wrongdoing (American Nurses Association, 2015). Despite this ethical duty,
RNs often meet whistleblowing with resistance (Black, 2011; Jackson et al., 2014).
Black (2011) cited an unsupportive organizational climate as the greatest obstacle to
whistleblowing. When RNs feel unsupported by nurseleaders they develop a fear of
repercussions, including labeling and blame (Black, 2011). Jackson et al. (2014)
explained that one third of whistleblowing results in consequences for the reporting
RN and that feelings of resistance are therefore validated. Common consequences
include being alienated by an organization, managers, and colleagues. Such

Doctor Assisted Suicide
Doctor assisted suicide, otherwise known as physician assisted suicide (PAS), is
when a patient voluntarily takes his or her own life by means of a lethal substance
provided by their physician. The right to die, where legal, can be provided to the
terminally ill and hopelessly sick. Some refer to PAS as euthanasiaand murder. This
is not what PAS is. Doctor assisted suicideis a compassionate and painless escape for
patients who no longer have the desire to live a low quality life. People are afraid to
accept PAS as a compassionate thing because they fear death, and they want to
believe that every life is worth living. Terminally ill patients who have no cure would
disagree. The majority of Americans would argue that PAS is ethically and morally

These dogs aren t overly territorial but they must have their eyes on their owner at
all times making sure that the owner is ok. Another great perk about this breed of
dog is that it is fairly knew to the United States. The relevancy of it being new to
the United States is that the Cane Corso genetics haven t been altered that much by
Americans in a negative way. A lot of Americans want the animal to be too big, or
even more aggressive, or another big problem is that Americans want the dog to
look aggressive but not hurt a fly. Some examples of these dogs who have been
genetically altered in a negative way are: The Rottweiler, Pit bull Terrier, American
Bulldog, and most other mastiff breeds that have come to the United States early on.
The Cane Corso is an aesthetically pleasing animal to look at, with its short coat
you are able to better see all the muscles in this beautiful, bulky yet elegant
creature. This is the type of dog you can walk around with holding your head up
with pride because multiple people will comment on how beautiful your dog is,
and they will be asking you what kind of breed it is. All in all this dog has the
perfect balance of being a great companion and family dog while still also taking its

Cultural Anxiety In Mrs. Lahiri s Third And Final

When life gets tough, think about the anxiety the narrator went through in Third and
Final Continent. Any challenge can be overcome with hard work, dedication, and
perfection. Lahiri uses characterization to emphasize the change of cultural conflicts.
Mala is faced with the challenge of adaption to an entire new culture. She moves to
this very new country and is required to immediately adapt to new customs.
Meanwhile, Mrs. Croft refuses to change from her old habits. She is an older lady
that is very traditional and goes by the book.
During the year 1933, the narrator was born in Calcutta, India and was bound for a

The Critical-Cultural Theory Of Mass Media
A young girl may hear a variety of tips on how to beautify herself, but do these
pieces of advice make her genuinely happy? That sometimes depends on the music
she hears around her, particularly on the radio. Many hit pop contemporary radio
singles, generally performed by female recording artists, encourage a distorted
perception of beauty that leads to the state of perception, which is usually nearly
impossible to achieve. However, a select group of songs by female performers and
their accompanying music videos promote the ideology that young women and
girls do not have to make dramatic changes to their body or appearance to be
perceived as beautiful. This message is widely spread by singers including
BeyoncГ©, Meghan Trainor, and Alessia Cara. This ideology can be traced back
to the critical/cultural theory of mass media, of which radio is a major part.
According to Ralph E. Hanson, PhD, a communications professor at the University
of Nebraska at Kearney, states that this theory arose between World War I and
World War II. Hanson notes, Originated by a group of German scholars known as
the Frankfurt School, these cultural critics were trying to make sense of a changing
world that was leaving people alienated, exploited, and repressed with no good way
of making sense of what was happening. People wanted to understand what was
really going on around them, and not just have a distorted view of the world as they
knew it. Today, when young children hear music on the radio,
Comparison Of Banquo And Fleance
The sun began to set on the hills and darkness crept across the land. It was not just
the darkness of night coming, it was also from black clouds that were invading the
sky. A strong wind started blowing and lighting started to flash across the sky. In that
very moment , Fleance and Banquo felt threatened. The stormwas a warning about
danger to their lives. Banquo and Fleance decided to return back to the castle which
was like a dark mountain in the distance. They rode quickly but because of the strong
windand the amount of lightning going around Banquo and Fleance, the horses got
tired very easily.
Fleance looked very pale. He was young, only about fifteen and was not used to the
sounds of battle raging in the sky. But Banquo on the other hand was a soldier who
had seen many wars. The explosions of thunder and flashes of lightening did not
scare him. He looked at Fleance with a comforting solid bright stare. The flaming
sphere had completely disappeared from Banquo and Fleance s sight when suddenly
three men riding a horse as fast as the wind came rushing towards them. When the
three men got closer they stopped. Fleance and Banquo was relieved because they

Taking a Look at Holden Vehicles
The antiquity of Holden can be found back from 1856, as soon as James Alexander
Holden started as a saddlery business in Adelaide, South Australia. The business then
evolved over a period of years, developing from mending cars upholstery to the
complete invention of automobile body shells. The company then became the
exclusive dealer of American car manufacturer General Motors in Australia. By the
year of 1920 Holdenstarted to supply trams cars for Melbourne. On 1931, Holden
merged with the American Car manufacturer, General Motors and become General
Motors Holden s Limited (GM H). In 1936, Holden opened a new HQ and assembly
plant at Fisherman s Bend in Port Melbourne.
Holden was also considered as one of the only seven fully integrated global GM
operations that designs, builds and sells vehicles for Australia and the world (Holden,
2010).
Reason for The closure of the GM Holden.
Recently on 11 December 2013, Holden announced that it would stop production of
Holden vehicles in Australia. The decision by the auto transnational signals a massive
escalation in the assault on the living standards and social rights of the employed
class across Australia. The entire Australian car industry aspects the potential of being
liquidated, with hundreds of thousands of jobs destroyed.
The General Motors answered that the Australian Dollar, high cost of production,
limited and small domestic market and possibly the extremely challenging and
fragmented market in the world are the

trait. What makes this movie out of all the others at the top of the most insulting is
its presentation. It is presented as if the makers of Legally Blonde are defending
the gene and thus even a blonde can become a lawyer or even go to Harvard . Of
course the main reason Elle does apply to go to Harvard is only to get back with
her boyfriend which makes this less of an honorable action. The movie plays light
heartedly on the theme that blondes aren t taken seriously only to add on to the
issue. In an article written about blonde jokes in the media, they explore the long life
of the blond stereotype. The prototypes appearing in many comic texts the dumb
blonde, the irritating wife and the awful mother in law are always defined by an
exaggeration of a traditional feminine stereotype. Thus, the dumb blonde is an
extreme version of the dumb woman and sex object stereotypes (Shifman, 20).In

Dell Corporate Strategy
Corporate Strategy The economic activities performed by Dell encompass the
development, manufacturing, sale and support of personal computers and computer
related products. Since its foundation, the company has been based on the Direct
Model, i.e. Dell has always tried and managed to create direct relationships with its
customers, by selling products directly and without the participation of
intermediaries. The sale has always taken place through a telephone service or via
the Internet. In order to accomplish its goal of being as fast as possible in the
delivery of the customized products it supplies, Dell has created an ample network of

Even on the manufacturing side, Dell seems to have been reconsidering its
position. The company has not lately been as much as profitable it would like and
some of the reasons for such performance have been allocated to the fact that the
company owns its manufacturing plants. For this reason, the company would have
approached some contract manufacturers to take over what in the 1990s was the
envy of its competitors: its production plants. Products The products that Dell
produces encompass the following categories: Desktop PCs Mobility Servers and
Networking Storage Services Software and Peripherals From the figures issued by
the company (see chart A), it is possible to understand the vastest product
categories Dell relies on are those of Desktop PCs and Mobility, which account for
more than 50% of the total revenues coming into the company. However, it is worth
pointing out that the revenues originated by PCs are quite stable, since it is not
possible to notice great increases in this business area, whereas the growth of the
revenues in other areas, such as mobility or servers, are much more noticeable and
reach even the double digits. The corporation aims at attracting specific market
segments, by marketing different brands. In fact, Dell produces a line of products
completely destined to the market segment of business. In the class of BUSINESS

Website Analysis Paper
INTRODUCTION
The level of usability of a website is determined by how simple it is for a visitor to
use and explore a website (Stokes, 2013, p. 95). Eataly is a company that sells
Italian products online and in their various locations which also feature restaurants
and activities that all relate to Italian food and products. The purpose of this paper is
to assess the level of usability of the Eataly website and how four specific design
topics, navigation, search options, professionalism, and breadcrumbs, impact the
usability.
NAVIGATION/CONSISTENCY
The navigation of a website determines how site users move about the site and how
they get to the page that contains the information that they are seeking. (Stokes,
2013, p. 95). An example of ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The color scheme of the site is consistent across the site and is in line with the
company s logo. The site also doesn t have any features that would distract or
intrude while using the site such as ads or popups that ask for customer info.
Another note is that links on the site that enable users to sign in or check their
order popup in an overlay of the current page when clicked instead of taking users
to a different page. An example of this is that when something is added to a
shopping cart the site doesn t force the user off the current page to go to the cart and
the cart can also be viewed on any page without leaving the current page.
BREADCRUMBS
A breadcrumb is a visual design element on websites, usually featured just below the
header, that shows users of the site where they are on the site and allows for them to
be able to navigate the site faster since it shows them previous page links
(Domagalski, n.d.).
Breadcrumbs are utilized in the sites design on every page besides the home page.
The breadcrumbs are located right below the far left side of the sites header but
are not sticky like the header. The usage of breadcrumbs allows users of the site to
quickly see which page they are located on and see which pages led them to it and
go back to those pages quickly. An example of this is on the delicate olive oil page
that shows the following breadcrumb: Home Extra Virgin Olive Oil
Goan Gothic By Gordon Parks Symbolism
Throughout the history of our country, injustice can be seen through many areas of
life. During the twentieth century African Americans pushed for equality, but had to
endure the resistance by those who viewed them as inferior. The black community
were subjected to many difficulties including economic, social, and educational
discrimination. Gordon Parks is able to show the discontentment with their lives and
the adversity that African Americans must face through his photography. With his
work we are able to see the effects of oppression in the daily life of an African
American. Gordon Parks captures the plight of African Americans by focusing on the
surroundings that show the severity and hardships that plagued them throughout the
twentieth century. Parks s two images, the American Gothic and Religious Objects in
the Bedroom of the Charwoman help illustrate a need for reform as the surroundings
give insight to the pain felt the black community during this time of oppression.
During the era of civil rights, many disadvantaged African Americans were relegated
to jobs where they did not reach their full potential due to lack of opportunities for
black people. In Parks s photograph, American Gothic , Parks shows a charwoman
holding a broom with a mop right beside her and the American flag in the
background. Most noticeable is her stern facial expression clearly showing her
discontentment. Parks places the cleaning supplies by having the charwoman hold a

Job Dismissals And Sweet Deals
Introduction The last few decades have seen an unprecedented decline in the density
and bargaining power of trade unions in western democracies. Among the reasons for
this trend, include rapid globalization, volatile market conditions that trigger
unemployment, the prevalence of anti union laws, and intense hostility of employers
towards unionization. Cyclic economic downturns have increased the operating costs
over the years, especially in the form of wages and salaries demanded by employees
through trade unions. High costs of operations translate into profit and revenue
erosion, which threatens the viability of business organizations. For this reason, the
majority of employers perceive unions as a competitive liability (Jackson, 2013).
Employer hostility towards unions has intensified in recent years, leading to
increased violations of labor laws in various workplaces. Companies use threats of job
dismissals and sweet deals such as employee improvement programs to minimize
union membership in their firms (Foster, Laird, McAndrew, Murrie, n.d.). In the face
of rising unemployment and surplus labor provided by low skilled immigrant
workers, employees are reluctant to engage in activities that threaten their job
security, including unionism. As a result, union density and influence continues to
fall particularly in the private sector where managerial resistance is stronger and
endemic in the wake of capitalism and profit maximization orientation (Jackson,
2013). This
The Hero As A Hero
I could never fully understand what the title hero represents. It is very confusing
thinking about a definition of the word hero. Growing up I had a lot of heroes. My
favorites heroes changed as I was growing older. As a kid, Superman was my favorite
hero. He could fly, stop bullets, he had laser eyes, and see through walls. It was
exciting. When I grow older, John McClane was my hero. He will stop terrorist all by
himself, risking everything that he got just to save the people he cares about. It
was confusing for me when someone said you are a hero to a soldier, a firefighter,
or policeman. I didn t understand then why they are called heroes. I asked my dad
and he explained to me that there are different types of heroes. There are... Show

That is all true about Columbus and what he did was bad, but he was the one who
created the bridge between the old world and the new world. He led four voyages
across an uncharted ocean in wooden sailing ships. (Myint)
In the selection from Bodega Dreams by Ernesto Quinones, there are two heroes,
Tapia and Sapo. Tapia is the professor who inspires the students and everyone likes
him. He reached the student s hearts and minds. He tried to protect them from what
Mr. Blessington was telling them. He explained them not to listen to him and if
they work hard, they can succeed in life. He also showed courage when he told
Sapo how to get away from Juvie. He stepped up to protect the student. Sapo, on
the other side, was represented as a neutral person. When the argument started
with Mr. Blessington, Sapo showed courage and stand up for himself and the
students. After Mr. Blessington put him in a headlock and start going after
Blanka, Sapo jumped and bit peace of his throat. (Quinones) Sapo and Tapia are
totally different people, but they both expressed heroic actions. In the Crazy
Courage by Alma Luz Villanueva, Michael shows a great courage by dressing as a
woman in school. But, he stood up for what he believes and what he feels, knowing
that he will be judged by the other. That is a heroic act. (Villanueva) In the essay
The Train from Hate by John Hope Franklin, we see another heroic act from his
mother. First, she broke the law by boarding the white people coach.
Dementia Caregiving Experiences
Title Dementia Caregiving experiences : The impact of negative caregiving
experiences on Care recipient s Mental and Physical health.
Introduction
With advancing age dependency increases and family is the primary contact an
individual turn to for assistance. It is reported that 36 million adults provide care to a
family member aged 65 or older. (National Alliance for Caregiving, 2009).Similarly,
the family members will also have higher degree of involvement in caregiving for
an individual in later years and it s degree of caregiving totally depends on the need
of care recipients.Family caregiver role is not an easy task as it brings responsibility
and dedication which requires a great amount of energy and time. There are about
5.3 million people with Alzheimers disease which is the most common form of
dementia and it is predicted to increase as boomers generation enter old age
(Tremont,2011).In U.S. about 14.9 million family caregivers are providing care for
someone with Dementia (Alzheimer s association,2011).Mostly, older adults with
dementia receive care from their spouse but when the spouse are not available the
caregiving task is taken over by adult children, especially daughter (Schulz Martire,
2004). According to 2003 survey of 227 US dementia caregivers it was found that
nearly one quarter provided 40 hours of care or more per week which included
personal care such as bathing, feeding, and assisting with toileting (Brodaty Dunkin,
2009).It is seen that
Carol Dweck Fixed Mindset
A child in his growing period learns to make certain sets of assumptions or notations
from the events happening in his growth environment. These sets of assumptions or
notations develops into ideas the child uses in his growth period and they are called
mindsets. Carol Dweck categorizes these mindsets into two categories called Growth
Mindsetand Fixed Mindset. A Person who restricts his basic abilities and talents to
a set of fixed traits is set to have a Fixed mindset. The ideas of such a person
revolves around this mindset. The goals of such a person are selfish or self centered.
However, the person with a growth mindset has a complete different ideology. A

A fixed mindset person would like to be acclaimed and would be satisfied each time
he receives a praise. The people with fixed mindset would then relax and will no
longer feel the need to make an effort and try to achieve something ahead since
they felt like they have already achieved their goals and they feel like they are
better than everyone else. Unlike the people with fixed mindset, the people with
growth mindset would appreciate the praise and would know the reason for which
they are being praised. It would not make them overconfident and hinder their
ability to continue their growing attitude towards life. Fixed mindset person would
not like his/her peer s to be praised. That person would think the person being
praised as an opponent. Against the person with a growth mindset who will take the
opportunity to appreciate and congratulate the peer who is being praised. The fixed
mindset person would want to beat the person being praised where as a growth
mindset person would learn the positives from the person that is being praised and

The Causes And Effects Of Work Organization Hazards
Imagine not being able to eat, drink, or use the restroom for twelve consecutive
hours. These working conditions account for nearly 78 percent of nurses in the
hospital today. According to Jordin Purcell Riess, who is a registered nurse at
Saint Francis Hospital in Hartford, Connecticut, being a nurse is probably the
worst job in the world. She also stated that The hallways are always full of ill
patients on a stretcher and as soon as you can get your ICU patient upstairs, there s
another one waiting for you. Work Organization Hazards can cause impaired task
performance, nurses burnout and PTSD (Post Traumatic Stress Disorder) which can
result in high blood pressure, anxiety, and depression. By creating a schedule with
adequate breaks to prevent feeling overwhelmed, positive reaffirmations and healthy
lifestyle choices, work organization hazards can be avoided. Work Organization
Hazards (WOHs) are problems associated with workplace issues that can cause stress
(short term) and strain (long term) on the body. WOHs are common in settings such
as laboratories, hospitals, and nursing homes. WOHs pose Psychological risks which
include the inability to concentrate, depression, anxiety, negative thinking and
memory lapse. Psychological problems often lead to behavioral effects which can
lead to the developing habits such as drinking alcohol, smoking tobacco, absenteeism,
anger outbursts and eating disorders. Physical risks include weight gain, high blood
pressure, stroke,

Olaudah Equiano And Thomas Jefferson
Plenty of early American authors used religious content or ideas for political
purposes. These authors wanted to change the political world around them through
publishing works with religious content. Two of these writers were Olaudah Equiano
and Thomas Jefferson. Equiano and Jefferson crafted letters and stories that shaped
then political climate during early American times that eventually helped to build a
great nation. In the biography of Thomas Jeffersonit states that he wished to be
remembered for only three things; drafting the Declaration of Independence, writing
and supporting the Virginia Statute for Religious Freedom (1786), and founding the
University of Virginia. Fortunate for him that is what he remembered for to this day.
As for Olaudah Equiano, he has caused a great deal of debate as to where he grew
up. There has been evidence to support him growing up in the Carolinas and there
has also been evidence to support him coming from Africa. One thing is certain
that he has produced high quality written material that is read to this day. Thomas
Jefferson, born 1743 in Virginia, was a self made man. He had many activities,
such as law, and politics in addition to running a 5,000 acre plantation that he
inherited from his father. Jefferson graduated from William and Mary College, and
was a talented lawyer. Jefferson was an awful public speaker, but he was a great
diplomat, which he proved throughout his life. He then went on as a member,

Dickinson s Riddle
Emily Dickinson died before her works were attempted to be analyzed and
interpreted, suggesting perhaps that the mysteries, abstractions, and double
meanings were for her own enjoyment, and all answers if there were any died with
her ( Explanation ). Glimpsing at just a few of Dickinson s poems is sure to catch
the eye of a reader, posing questions of grammatical soundness. Capital letters, dots,
and dashes appear consistently, but maybe there is a reason behind it all. Emily
Dickinson uses punctuation in a non traditional way throughout her poems,
contributing to the effect and meaning of her works, such as My Life had stoodп‚ѕa
Loaded Gunп‚ѕ, After great pain, a formal feeling comesп‚ѕ, and Wild Nightsп‚ѕWild
Nights!
Emily Dickinson employs commonly used punctuation marks in an uncommon way,
riddling many of her poems. Emily Dickinson s poems, like inlay, tend to be made of
splinters of thought and sight, often brilliant fragments, held together by a mosaic
sense of pattern, joined irregularly by dashes (Wilner). Although dashes appear the
most, some works also contain explanation marks. Exclamation marks in Dickinson s
poems suggest strong feeling in her thoughts, interjecting passion and excitement
throughout. The punctuation used by the author enhances her works and helps to
draw in her audience.
Dickinson s My Life had stoodп‚ѕ a Loaded Gunп‚ѕ contains en dashes from

My Inspirational President Obam An African American...
My Inspirational President Obama I have never seen a person so good at giving
public speeches in my entire life. That person became memorable in my life
immediately after I saw/heard him speaking on television in front of a thousand
people as he became the first African American president of the United States of
America. I thought this person simply cannot be an African American, but the most
honorable gentleman. He introduced himself without a fear, but with confidence and
belief that the United Statesof America is a country where anything is possible and
that he is capable to be a leader of this country and their nation for a while. This
person was Barack Obamawho came to make changes to America by sharing his past
and his plans with the entire world.
I.Even though Obama went through hardship in his life, his education and hard work
pushed him forward.
A.Obama studied hard from the very beginning to become an educated person and yet
instills in us the importance of education.

participated in a number of co curricular activities at Punahou, including writing for
Ka Wai Ola, the high school literary journal, and playing on the junior varsity and
varsity basketball teams. Obama graduated with academic honors in 1979.

Beauty Pageants: From the Title of Mini Supreme to America s Next Top Model
English 106 Cassie Robinson 3 Otober 2012 Abstract Beauty pageants have

females who dressed in their Sunday best and walked on the catwalk at the county
fair. Now, little children are decked out in glitzy outfits, have wigs that make their
hair twice as long, and have teeth to make it seem like their baby teeth haven t fallen
out yet. In this literature review, I reviewed different articles, some against child
beauty pageants and some that showed a firsthand look into the beauty pageants.

My next article, Toddlers and Tiaras TOO MUCH TOO SOON? written by
Charlotte Triggs in 2011, is a continuation of the stresses of being in the pageant
world. It is not only stressful on the children, who are the main event of the
pageants, but also on the parents. These parents put their children through the
pageants and shell out the money for entrance fees, homemade dresses and
flippers, which are fake teeth for the girls who are losing their baby teeth. You re
never going to win that money back, even if they win every weekend, (Triggs,
West, Aradillas, 2011) said one mother about the pageant life. So, if there are no
perks of being in pageants other than seeing their daughters win crowns, why do
the mothers go through the stress and lose money to pageants? The same mother
then went on to say, But you ve got to do it because your kid loves and excels at it
and it s something you enjoy as a family, (Triggs, West, Aradillas, 2011). So if
families are happy watching their children in pageants, then they are more than
willing to put up with the stress. In addition to the stresses of pageantry and reasons
for participating, things such as the confusing life moments and the decisions pageant
girls go through are discussed in the article. While most girls their age are out
Henry Allison s Two Aspect View
Henry Allison s two aspect view differs profoundly from the two world view by
introducing epistemic conditions. For Allison, the difference between appearances
and things in themselves is epistemic rather than ontological. Rather than reflecting
two separate realms, phenomena and noumena reflect the structure of the mind.21
The notable distinction here is that rather than the identification of the appearance
with the representation, the appearance is associated with the thing in itself.22
Allison argues that Kant s conditions of human knowledge should be taken as
epistemic conditions rather than logical conditions.23 Allison defines an epistemic
condition as a simply a condition that is necessary for an object or objective state of
affairs.24 These epistemic then turn out to be space, time and the categories; it can be
known a priori that every object is structured in terms of these conditions.25 By
introducing epistemic conditions, Allison is capable of separating the two aspect
view from the two world view. These epistemic conditions must be distinguished from
metaphysical, ontological and psychological conditions.26 The psychological
conditions are defined as a disposition of the mind which governs belief
acquisition.27 The prime example of this would be Hume s customs or habit as
features of the mind.28 Epistemic conditions differ from them by reflecting the
structure mind but differ in that they are objectivating; psychological conditions
reflect how the mind
The World Of The Aztec Empire
How was Cortes with 508 soldiers able to conquer the Aztec Empire with millions
of peoples inside its borders? Cortes was able to conquer the Aztec people for
several different reasons. The Aztecs had a very harsh tribute system that was not
popular among the other peoples of Mexico. This ferocious tribute system allowed
Cortes to act as a liberator of some sort. Additionally, with the Spanish came several
diseases the Aztecpeoples had never encountered. The spread of diseases such as
small pox and many others drastically reduced the Aztec population and sped up
Cortes cause. Malintzin, a tribal girl given as a gift to Cortes, was helpful in
translating local dialects and communicating amongst Amerindians. Also an
important aspect of... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
As the majority of those who were sacrificed were war captives who opposed the
Aztecs, they obviously greatly feared the brutal tribute system. However not only
war captives were sacrifices, common adults and children were also sacrificed at
times. Cortes himself was disgusted at the thought of human sacrifice, this allowed
him to gain Indian allies as well as gain respect among Mexican tribes that feared
and opposed the Aztecs. The majority of the population feared the process therefore
making Cortes, whom despised the process, an appealing alternative. Many followed
Cortes as they shared the same views on the human sacrifice topic. Because Cortes
posed to eliminate the Aztecs it allowed him to appear as a liberator of the tyranny of
the Aztec rule.
Secondly, a relatively minor cause for Cortes success was the issue of disease among
the Aztecs. Although this was a fairly feeble reason it actually greatly benefited the
Spanish in reducing the Aztec population. The Spanish brought smallpox to Mexico,
said to be linked to an infected slave arriving from Spanish Cuba, which caused
great suffering to the Aztecs. The Spanish were immune to the disease so it posed
no threat to Cortes own men. The Aztecs were demoralized by the mysterious illness
that killed Indians and spared Spaniards, as if advertising the Spaniards invincibility.
One negative aspect for Cortes however was that his Indian allies suffered from the
disease

An in-Depth Analysis of the Use of Specific Musical...
The Romantic Era was a period of great change and emancipation. It moved away
from strict laws by allowing artistic freedom, experimentation and creativity.
Romantic music evolved from ideas established in earlier periods, such as the
classical period, and went further through the use of expression and passion. New
musical concepts evolved due to current trends and the musicwas deeply personal and
nationalistic. Musical concepts including pitch, tone colour and dynamics and
expressive techniques each express the style of the Romantic period in differing
ways. These concepts are exemplified through Nocturne and Valse, both by Chopin.
Nocturne and Valse are both emotionally expressionistic pieces typical of the
romantic era, written by ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
As the Nocturne is played with legato articulation, this creates more freedom and
expression. The Valse however, is played with Tempo Giusto. This means it is much
more strict as it must be played in exact time. This does not allow for variation, unlike
the Nocturne, which is common with waltzes.
The smooth character of the Nocturne and Valse is also linked with the inclusion of
sostenuto articulation. The loud pedal creates an overlapping effect, which
contributes to the nature of the piece.
The type of layer relationship shown in both the Nocturne and Valse is homophonic.
They consist of a dominant melodic layer accompanied by subordinate harmonic
layers.
Many composers of this time, reached for extremely high or low sounds. This was
in search of increased brilliance and depth in sound. Throughout the Nocturne the
broken chords in the bass span from relatively high to low pitch with the lowest
note, an f, in bar 8 and the highest, an a#, in bar 37. The treble experiences a similar
type of pitch pattern, with notes ranging from mid pitch to high pitch, which can be
seen in bars 30 37 of the piece.
Romantic composers revelled in rich and sensuous sound, using tone colour to obtain
variety of mood and atmosphere. Never before had timbre been so important.
Composers sought new ways of blending and combining tone colours to achieve the
most poignant and intense sound.
The Piano, the favourite instrument of the romantic age, was vastly

Smiling flirtatiously, she said, I know who you are. I had been friends with your
sister Mary for many years. We never got the chance to meet officially, but I had seen
you and talked to you over the phone on several occasions, if I remember correctly. If
you do not know this already, I am Isabel s closest and dearest friend. It is so nice to
meet you finally. I am so sorry for what I said earlier. I had no idea Isabel was seen

Turning to me, he responded through gritted teeth, I guess Isabel failed to mention me

Walking into the kitchen with Liz basket in hand, I placed it on the kitchen counter

Rights of the Child, The Child Act, The Care Standards Act, Every Child Matters.
The most effective way of managing challenging behaviour is to ensure that
everyone receiving care has an individualised assessment which outlines their needs
and aspirations and an individualised care plan that details how they wish their
services to be delivered and takes account of the competency of the care providers
to do this. The assessment should take account of any potential challenging
behaviour, should include a risk assessment, and should give clear guidance to staff
about how to prevent and manage this. The service user should be involved in the
whole process of assessment and care planning preferable via a self assessment

The Human Rights Act 1998 came into force in October 2000 to protect fundamental

London 1908, Machinery Hall Essay

London 1908, Machinery Hall
This image represents the entrance to Machinery Hall of the 1908 Franco British
Exhibition in London. The original is one in a series of 3.5 x 5.5 inch postcards,
printed by Valentine Sons Ltd. The Machinery Hall covered 125,000 square yards. In
this image it looks very elaborate, garish, and reminiscent of Gothic architecture. The
flags seen on the top of the building are French and British. There are decorations
looking like lanterns around the perimeter of the building. Within the context of the
fair, the pavilion was vast yet not imposing.
The London 1908 Exposition was located on an area of agricultural land in Shepherd
s Bush, West London, which provided 140 acres of land, close to... Show more

In the Machinery Halls, heavy industry was represented by displays on mining, iron
and steelwork, armaments manufacture, shipbuilding, pumping and motive power
machinery, electricity generation, as well as textile and printing machinery. Many
displayed objects were instruments of war such as a gun carried on the backs of
three dummy men. Warship firms displayed models of their scouts, destroyers, armed
cruisers and torpedo boats. War relics included an astrolabe of 1578, the barge of the
great Napoleon, the flat bottomed boats which the French used when they captured
Algiers, and some of the small cannons used on the gunwales of eighteenth century
warships.
Numerous modern inventions were also featured. The steel and iron industry
displayed flywheels, and suction producers, while railway companies made a model
of a Scenic Railway outside. The place of honor in the French hall was taken by the
great Pont Г Mousson blast furnace. The London Electricity Companies
demonstrated modern cooking with electric range and kettles, and showed sewing
machines.
One of the great luxuries in the building was a free rest room, in the middle of
which was a pleasant fountain. The Franco British Exhibition: illustrated review
commented on this idea: Remembering the general comfortless ness of the grounds,
it was a stroke of real genius to put that oasis of rest in the centre of the grim and
dour Machinery Halls.
The exhibition lasted from May 14 to October 31, 1908. The
Examples Of Lack Of Self Confidence In The Wizard Of Oz
In today s society, there are about 6.375 billion people affected by a lack of self
confidence, in other terms, this is about 85% of the world s current population of
7.5 billion people. Why does the majority of the world s population suffer from a
lack of self confidence? There is a simple answer to this question, and it can be
found in the book The Wonderful Wizard of Ozby L. Frank Baum. Baum through the
use of 3 characters portrays the lack of self confidence. Baum uses the Scarecrow, the
Tin Woodmanand the Lion prove that a person/character s own strengths go un
noticed by him/her. The way to reach these strengths would be through self
confidence. The 85% of the world s population with a lack of self confidence do not
realize that... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
It in fact was a possibility, allowing the rest of the travelers to climb the lion s back
and make it across the ditch. Once across this ditch the group encountered another
ditch to cross, which was so large, even the lion was unable to leap across.
Realizing this the Scarecrow told the Tin Woodman to cut down a large tree from
the close by forest and asked the Lion to push it down towards the ditch once it was
cut. This created a bridge for not only the travelers to cross but also the dreaded
Kalidahs. The Kalidahs are dreaded beats that were ferocious and could kill the
lion if they wanted to and turning back the Lion realizes that there are two
Kalidahs following them across the bridge. Once everyone gets across the bridge
the Scarecrow instructs the Tin Woodman to cut down the part of the tree that lay
on their side of the bridge. Doing this had caused the tree to fall, taking both the
Kalidahs down into the ditch. Shortly after the Scarecrow had helped the group
cross two ditches and saved everyone s life, was he faced with another small
problem, how to get across the river. The Scarecrow made easy work of this and
asked the Tin Woodman to cut down trees and make rafts for them. The Scarecrow
had proved everything he had said about himself wrong through these actions. All
these situations happened in one chapter and there is a couple more in the

Creativity Essay. How to write a good creative essay?

  • 1. Creativity Essay Crafting an essay on the subject of creativity is a task that demands a unique blend of analytical thinking and imaginative expression. The challenge lies not only in presenting a comprehensive understanding of the concept but also in infusing the piece with a creative flair that engages and captivates the reader. To begin with, defining and delving into the multifaceted nature of creativity requires extensive research and a nuanced exploration of various perspectives. One must navigate through a labyrinth of theories, psychological insights, and historical examples to construct a well-rounded foundation. Unraveling the layers of creativity, from its cognitive processes to its societal impact, demands a meticulous approach that delves into both the scientific and artistic realms. Furthermore, expressing these intricate ideas in a coherent and compelling manner is another hurdle. Balancing the analytical aspect with a creative narrative style adds an extra layer of complexity. The writer must find a delicate equilibrium between rational arguments and imaginative storytelling, seamlessly weaving together a tapestry of ideas that resonates with the reader. The challenge intensifies when attempting to break away from clichГ©s and conventional wisdom. Creativity, by its very essence, demands a fresh perspective and an innovative approach to the subject matter. Avoiding cliched expressions and tired tropes becomes imperative to ensure the essay itself reflects the very creativity it seeks to explore. In addition to the content, the essay's structure plays a crucial role. Creativity doesn't thrive in a rigid framework, yet an essay requires a logical progression of ideas. Striking the right balance between fluidity and coherence presents a formidable challenge. The writer must create a narrative that flows seamlessly while maintaining a clear and organized structure. In conclusion, crafting an essay on the theme of creativity demands not only an in-depth understanding of the topic but also a creative prowess in presenting these ideas. It is a delicate dance between intellect and imagination, research and expression. Yet, for those seeking assistance, it's worth noting that HelpWriting.net offers a platform where similar essays and much more can be ordered, providing a resource for those navigating the intricate landscape of creative essay writing. • 2. Benefits Of Co-Production In Canada There is a wide range of benefits that a production company can advantage from when it comes to small scale production, and/or following a path of co production. It can stretch from communal nature to having more artistic independency on a project to financial management. The Journals of Knud Rasmussen, a film made by an Inuit production company presents these advantages. By using this approach these production companies have more accessibility, and international success. This film acts as a prime example to why films made in Canada can benefit from small scale production, and co production. The smaller crews allow for the rotation of roles, a closer intimate crew, and democratic decision over the direction of the project. In larger scale production there is higher demands from outside sources, and this limits the creative freedom of the filmmaker. It is the new markets for this media that has opened up this opportunity, and the use of new media in ways of distribution technologies, and sophisticated digital production . These kinds of productions have an ease of technology, and allows for the distribution to be international. This film shows the advantage of having a small scale crew unit, because work closely with new media, which helps with networking in order to gain recognition. As a small scale production the need for specialists for a particular task is not required, instead the smaller crew works collectively to put it all together. Although the filmmaker retains majority of the creative decision, the crewmembers having knowledge of the entire production rather than an individual aspect can contribute with ideas that are best suited to the

We meet him in the beginning of Patricia Highsmith s, The Talented Mr. Ripley taking on someone else s job as well as pretending to be a well educated well mannered Princeton graduate. Tom Ripley has gotten away with all his frauds, impersonations, and forgeries until his past comes back to haunt him. His imagination runs wild as he imagines the horrible deeds he has done manifesting into panic attacks and compulsions. Toms desire to be accepted clouds his reasoning as he devises a sinister plan to kill and take over Dickie s life. Through his thoughts, we find that he cannot differentiate between right and wrong. Morality never plays a part in his decisions, as he s given a choice; let Dickie live or take his identity. Because of Toms envy of Dickie s life, he demands his life, most people would just be envious, but not Ripley. He has other plans. Tom has no ability in making conscientious decisions. When he is faced with people he dislikes, he thinks that the only reasonable way to deal with them is murder. These wrinkles are temporary and vanish after the skin is dry, unlike the permanent wrinkles on other parts of the skin caused by aging or sunburn. 2.1 Physiology There are hypotheses made about the physiology of water immersed wrinkling considering it an osmotic swelling of the stratum corneum, increased deep tissue turgor, and contraction of myoepithelial cells in the absence of sebaceous glands in glabrous skin [1]. Heart rate variability influences the sinus node making a directly connection with the autonomic nervous system. The study showed that skin wrinkling can also be affected by the height of the subject due to the possible reflexion of the surface are of the fingertip, allowing the water to diffuse faster. In addition to this study, Kamran et al. [17] studied the effects on the skin wrinkling for 60 patients with congestive heart failure. Results showed that the degree of skin wrinkling is reduced in patients with congestive heart failure but also affected by age and height and not by gender or weight. 2.3 Evoke and Evaluation Because of this connection with vasoconstriction, water immersed wrinkling was proposed, by other studies also, as a bedside test for sympathetic nerve function [1, 4 8, 59]. The fact that water induced skin wrinkling is cheap and simple, makes it more easy for scientists to use. However, the test requires a 30 minute water

Now, Asian economies begin to tap into the wealth of opportunities provided by derivative transactions as well. Singapore and Malaysia are leaders in the region with dedicated derivatives exchanges through the Singapore Exchange and the Bursa Malaysia respectively. • 13. Consequences Of Whistleblowing Registered nurses (RNs) have an ethical duty to ensure patient safety by reporting cases of wrongdoing (American Nurses Association, 2015). Despite this ethical duty, RNs often meet whistleblowing with resistance (Black, 2011; Jackson et al., 2014). Black (2011) cited an unsupportive organizational climate as the greatest obstacle to whistleblowing. When RNs feel unsupported by nurseleaders they develop a fear of repercussions, including labeling and blame (Black, 2011). Jackson et al. • 19. The Critical-Cultural Theory Of Mass Media A young girl may hear a variety of tips on how to beautify herself, but do these pieces of advice make her genuinely happy? That sometimes depends on the music she hears around her, particularly on the radio. Many hit pop contemporary radio singles, generally performed by female recording artists, encourage a distorted perception of beauty that leads to the state of perception, which is usually nearly impossible to achieve. However, a select group of songs by female performers and their accompanying music videos promote the ideology that young women and girls do not have to make dramatic changes to their body or appearance to be perceived as beautiful. This message is widely spread by singers including BeyoncГ©, Meghan Trainor, and Alessia Cara. This ideology can be traced back to the critical/cultural theory of mass media, of which radio is a major part. According to Ralph E. Hanson, PhD, a communications professor at the University of Nebraska at Kearney, states that this theory arose between World War I and World War II. Hanson notes, Originated by a group of German scholars known as the Frankfurt School, these cultural critics were trying to make sense of a changing world that was leaving people alienated, exploited, and repressed with no good way of making sense of what was happening. People wanted to understand what was really going on around them, and not just have a distorted view of the world as they knew it. Today, when young children hear music on the radio,

Elle Woods, the main character of legally blonde was the epitome of Hollywood s take on the blonde trait. What makes this movie out of all the others at the top of the most insulting is its presentation. It is presented as if the makers of Legally Blonde are defending the gene and thus even a blonde can become a lawyer or even go to Harvard . The purpose of this paper is to assess the level of usability of the Eataly website and how four specific design topics, navigation, search options, professionalism, and breadcrumbs, impact the usability. Another note is that links on the site that enable users to sign in or check their order popup in an overlay of the current page when clicked instead of taking users to a different page. An example of this is that when something is added to a shopping cart the site doesn t force the user off the current page to go to the cart and the cart can also be viewed on any page without leaving the current page. BREADCRUMBS A breadcrumb is a visual design element on websites, usually featured just below the header, that shows users of the site where they are on the site and allows for them to be able to navigate the site faster since it shows them previous page links (Domagalski, n.d.). Breadcrumbs are utilized in the sites design on every page besides the home page. The breadcrumbs are located right below the far left side of the sites header but are not sticky like the header. The usage of breadcrumbs allows users of the site to quickly see which page they are located on and see which pages led them to it and go back to those pages quickly. An example of this is on the delicate olive oil page that shows the following breadcrumb: Home Extra Virgin Olive Oil

During the twentieth century African Americans pushed for equality, but had to endure the resistance by those who viewed them as inferior. The black community were subjected to many difficulties including economic, social, and educational discrimination. Gordon Parks is able to show the discontentment with their lives and the adversity that African Americans must face through his photography. With his work we are able to see the effects of oppression in the daily life of an African American. Gordon Parks captures the plight of African Americans by focusing on the surroundings that show the severity and hardships that plagued them throughout the twentieth century. Parks s two images, the American Gothic and Religious Objects in the Bedroom of the Charwoman help illustrate a need for reform as the surroundings give insight to the pain felt the black community during this time of oppression. During the era of civil rights, many disadvantaged African Americans were relegated to jobs where they did not reach their full potential due to lack of opportunities for black people. In Parks s photograph, American Gothic , Parks shows a charwoman holding a broom with a mop right beside her and the American flag in the background. Most noticeable is her stern facial expression clearly showing her discontentment. Parks places the cleaning supplies by having the charwoman hold a broom with
  • 26. Job Dismissals And Sweet Deals Introduction The last few decades have seen an unprecedented decline in the density and bargaining power of trade unions in western democracies. Among the reasons for this trend, include rapid globalization, volatile market conditions that trigger unemployment, the prevalence of anti union laws, and intense hostility of employers towards unionization. Cyclic economic downturns have increased the operating costs over the years, especially in the form of wages and salaries demanded by employees through trade unions. High costs of operations translate into profit and revenue erosion, which threatens the viability of business organizations. For this reason, the majority of employers perceive unions as a competitive liability (Jackson, 2013). Employer hostility towards unions has intensified in recent years, leading to increased violations of labor laws in various workplaces. Companies use threats of job dismissals and sweet deals such as employee improvement programs to minimize union membership in their firms (Foster, Laird, McAndrew, Murrie, n.d.). In the face of rising unemployment and surplus labor provided by low skilled immigrant workers, employees are reluctant to engage in activities that threaten their job security, including unionism. As a result, union density and influence continues to fall particularly in the private sector where managerial resistance is stronger and endemic in the wake of capitalism and profit maximization orientation (Jackson, 2013). Glimpsing at just a few of Dickinson s poems is sure to catch the eye of a reader, posing questions of grammatical soundness. Capital letters, dots, and dashes appear consistently, but maybe there is a reason behind it all. Emily Dickinson uses punctuation in a non traditional way throughout her poems, contributing to the effect and meaning of her works, such as My Life had stoodп‚ѕa Loaded Gunп‚ѕ, After great pain, a formal feeling comesп‚ѕ, and Wild Nightsп‚ѕWild Nights! Emily Dickinson employs commonly used punctuation marks in an uncommon way, riddling many of her poems. Emily Dickinson s poems, like inlay, tend to be made of splinters of thought and sight, often brilliant fragments, held together by a mosaic sense of pattern, joined irregularly by dashes (Wilner). These parents put their children through the pageants and shell out the money for entrance fees, homemade dresses and flippers, which are fake teeth for the girls who are losing their baby teeth. You re never going to win that money back, even if they win every weekend, (Triggs, West, Aradillas, 2011) said one mother about the pageant life. • 36. Henry Allison s Two Aspect View Henry Allison s two aspect view differs profoundly from the two world view by introducing epistemic conditions. For Allison, the difference between appearances and things in themselves is epistemic rather than ontological. Rather than reflecting two separate realms, phenomena and noumena reflect the structure of the mind.21 The notable distinction here is that rather than the identification of the appearance with the representation, the appearance is associated with the thing in itself.22 Allison argues that Kant s conditions of human knowledge should be taken as epistemic conditions rather than logical conditions.23 Allison defines an epistemic condition as a simply a condition that is necessary for an object or objective state of affairs.24 These epistemic then turn out to be space, time and the categories; it can be known a priori that every object is structured in terms of these conditions.25 By introducing epistemic conditions, Allison is capable of separating the two aspect view from the two world view. These epistemic conditions must be distinguished from metaphysical, ontological and psychological conditions.26 The psychological conditions are defined as a disposition of the mind which governs belief acquisition.27 The prime example of this would be Hume s customs or habit as features of the mind.28 Epistemic conditions differ from them by reflecting the structure mind but differ in that they are objectivating; psychological conditions reflect how the mind

This ferocious tribute system allowed Cortes to act as a liberator of some sort. Additionally, with the Spanish came several diseases the Aztecpeoples had never encountered. Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... As the majority of those who were sacrificed were war captives who opposed the Aztecs, they obviously greatly feared the brutal tribute system. However not only war captives were sacrifices, common adults and children were also sacrificed at times. Cortes himself was disgusted at the thought of human sacrifice, this allowed him to gain Indian allies as well as gain respect among Mexican tribes that feared and opposed the Aztecs. The majority of the population feared the process therefore making Cortes, whom despised the process, an appealing alternative. Many followed Cortes as they shared the same views on the human sacrifice topic. Because Cortes posed to eliminate the Aztecs it allowed him to appear as a liberator of the tyranny of the Aztec rule. Secondly, a relatively minor cause for Cortes success was the issue of disease among the Aztecs. Although this was a fairly feeble reason it actually greatly benefited the Spanish in reducing the Aztec population. The Spanish brought smallpox to Mexico, said to be linked to an infected slave arriving from Spanish Cuba, which caused great suffering to the Aztecs. This means it is much more strict as it must be played in exact time. This does not allow for variation, unlike the Nocturne, which is common with waltzes. The smooth character of the Nocturne and Valse is also linked with the inclusion of sostenuto articulation. The loud pedal creates an overlapping effect, which contributes to the nature of the piece. The type of layer relationship shown in both the Nocturne and Valse is homophonic. They consist of a dominant melodic layer accompanied by subordinate harmonic layers. Many composers of this time, reached for extremely high or low sounds. This was in search of increased brilliance and depth in sound. Throughout the Nocturne the broken chords in the bass span from relatively high to low pitch with the lowest note, an f, in bar 8 and the highest, an a#, in bar 37. It will also outline how strategies are used to minimise effects of challenging behaviour in health and social care settings. It will further discuss and evaluate how the strategies are used to minimise effects of one type of challenging behaviour in a health and social care setting. There are many legislations that apply to challenging behaviour and these include, The Human Rights Act 1998, The Convention on the Rights of the Child, The Child Act, The Care Standards Act, Every Child Matters. The most effective way of managing challenging behaviour is to ensure that everyone receiving care has an individualised assessment which outlines their needs and aspirations and an individualised care plan that details how they wish their services to be delivered and takes account of the competency of the care providers to do this. The assessment should take account of any potential challenging behaviour, should include a risk assessment, and should give clear guidance to staff about how to prevent and manage this.
