Finger Marks Techniques
Finger marks are known as a small print that can be left on any surface, each finger mark is unique to
an individual. There are multiple types of finger marks the three main ones are known as a Whorl,
Arch and Loops. The finger marks are always photographed before being collected at a crime scene,
there are several different types of techniques that are used to be able to lift the prints. There are hinge
lifts, rubber lifts and cellophane tape.
Hinge lift can be used using multiple different colours backgrounds this to allow for the visualisation
of the finger marks so that they can be developed using different colour powders. The hinge lift is
placed onto the finger mark and is pressed down evenly over the mark, the lifted print is then covered

There will be 8 different finger marks that will be used each time for each experiment that will take
place. These prints will be created by one individual to be able to keep a constant pattern within the
practical. There are two slightly methods that will be used, the first method is cyanoacrylate fuming
the item that contains the print will be suspended within the tank this is to ensure that the item is
exposed to the fumes. This process will take up to 45 minutes once the time is completed the whitish
coloured print will appear on the item showing the finger mark/s. The print can be enhance further
using a fluorescent dye the fan is then turned on and is then used to circulate the fumes which will
then increase the surface contact between the latent print residue and the cyanoacrylate vapours. A
heating method will then be applied and the cyanoacrylate will be placed onto a dish and then a
heating tool will then be placed onto the dish until it accelerates the polymerization process of the
cyanoacrylate however there is a possibility that heating the cyanoacrylate will accelerate the volatility
which then in turn will mean a faster vapour release which will then accelerate the recovery of the
latent print. Another method that is going to be used within this practical is like the first method,
however this current method will be using approximately 25 drops of liquid cyanoacrylate and this
will then be placed into a magnetically locked in a shelf above the item that is about to be fumed. The
fume cupboard will then be heated to 120 degrees with the humidity being maintained at 80 degrees.
The heating and the humidity cycle will then take approximately 30 minutes, the fuming cabinet will
need to take 20 minutes to remove any harmful residual vapours. Once this is complete the print that
has been exposed by the fumes

Internal Control Of A Business
For a business to limit fraud capabilities, it is important to have a strong set of internal control.
Internal control is the organizational plan and all the related measures designed to . . . safeguard
assets, encourage employees to follow company policies, promote operational efficiency and ensure
accurate reliable accounting records (Miller Nobels, Mattison, Matsumura, 2016). When establishing
internal control, it is important to remember the necessary components: control procedures, risk
assessment, information system, monitoring of controls and environment (Miller Nobels, Mattison,
Matsumura, 2016). The control procedures range from hiring trustworthy employees though securing
digital information. Risk assessment deals with assessing the company and identifying the risks
involved in operating the company. With rapid advancements in technology, information systems must
be secured, information being a valuable resource. Monitoring of controls is another component that
should not be overlooked. Internal and external audits can help safeguard the company s assets.
Finally, the environment can be thought of as the culture of the company. Top executives leading by
example in honesty helps create a fraud resistant culture (Miller Nobels, Mattison, Matsumura, 2016).
Given the scenario in Widget Inc., it is important to utilize all personnel in the internal control of the
company. Currently, before internal control is evaluated, there are two employees in the office

Using A Different Setup Than A Standard Linear Optical System
Using a different setup than a standard linear optical system, [SOURCE]Choi et al. are able to use
trapped ions as qubits in an optical quantum computer. As a direct result, unique possibilities for
addressing scalability issues are discovered. Since trapped ions already have fundamentally low levels
of coherent error, suppression of that error in a scaled quantum computer requires significantly less
error correction. Also, the group demonstrates an architecture in which more than two entangled
qubits could be addressed simultaneously, further expanding the possibility of scaling. Some research
indicates that linear optical systems could contain unexplored features that would greatly increase the
feasibility of scalability for quantum ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Properties like this make working with double donor systems much easier. Still, some of the end
results of experiments using single dot schemes have advanced quantum computing in general, via a
combination of multiple schemes. An article by Calderón et al., in tandem with other previous
experiments that allow for coherence times near a second, provide a possible solution to avoiding
coherent error. The use of a single electron donor for isolated qubits has one interesting result:
Calderón describes the unique state when he says if they form a triplet, selection rules imply a much
longer lived state. This unique situation does not come as a result of double donors, only single. By
using only single dot triplets, it might be possible to combine the system with others because of its
abnormally long coherence time and high accuracy. As discussed, the use of single dot architecture
could be combined in unique ways with linear optical schemes. [SOURCE] Economou et al. support
this idea, stating [s]pins...have received a great deal of attention because they interact strongly with
light and provide the opportunity for ultrafast all optical implementation of logical operations. While
the negative implications of that statement, especially in decoherence caused by environmental
interaction, have been discussed, there are many potential benefits as well. Foremost among these is

Horizontal And Vertical Integration For A Profitable...
Horizontal Vertical Integration to Compete Porter s five forces provide a methodology to evaluate the
external markets. Its consideration of substitutes, threats and power of buyer and supplier assists with
the development of an integration strategy. A thorough analysis can isolate attractive opportunities in
support of building a profitable business model. These strategies can leverage vertical and/or
horizontal integration of new business entities. These entities are designed to help with growing
market share, increasing efficiencies and/or reducing costs.

Integrating e commerce within the marketing channels can provide an efficient method to run and
conduct business. Gaining operational efficiencies can provide a competitive advantage. These
advantages can manifest themselves in the form of growing market share, improved customer
experiences and cost control. This channel of e commerce can envelope the entire value chain
network. Leveraging this capability, across the value network, supports both vertically and
horizontally integrated businesses. Integrating e commerce has become the new norm to conduct
business.
This analysis will compare and contrast how a vertically integrated company such as Fresenius
Medical Care (FMC) and a horizontally integrated company such as Integra LifeSciences (ILS) have
integrated e commerce to support effective value chain strategies. It will discuss similarities and
differences, on how to best adopt, an integrated e commerce approach for both a vertically and
horizontally run business. This analysis will use examples from FMC and ILS to outline how e
commerce has provided a competitive advantage in marketing their products and services. The
analysis will conclude with recommendations for both companies to enhance their future campaigns.

Marx and the Bourgeoisie Essay
In this essay I plan to analyze the claim by Karl Marx that the bourgeoisie class produces its own
gravediggers . I will first present a definition of the bourgeoisie and the proletariat classes along with
what Marx means by his claim. After discussing Marx s claim and his support I will assert that his
claim is false and was based on a false assumption. I will argue that Marx does not allow the
possibility of an adaptation on behalf of the bourgeoisie. Furthermore, that Marx contradicts his claim
with his own ideologies from his critique of capitalism. Finally, Marx adopts historical determinism to
support his view which has proven to be flawed. The claim that the bourgeoisie produces its own
gravediggers is based on circumstantial ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
We see, therefore, how the modern bourgeoisie is itself the product of a long course of development,
of a series of revolutions in the modes of production and of exchange. (Marx, 424). In this sense, the
bourgeoisie have the ability to change since they themselves are products of revolutions. In other
terms, the bourgeoisie are an always changing class that has found ways to stay in power through
political hegemony over the proletariat class. Marx conjures the proper preconditions for a successful
rebellion but again contradicts himself through his own ideologies. Although Marx believes that
capitalism will be responsible for the proletariat rebellion it is the same system that will estrange man
from each other and thus prevent a successful revolt.
Marx asserts certain preconditions that must exist in order for a rebellion to take place. Marx believes
that capitalism provides these preconditions and therefore a revolt by the proletariat class is inevitable.
As discussed in Professor Kathryn Walker s lecture, Marx describes four preconditions for a
successful social rebellion, A mass of people for rebellion, a problem to rebel against, a common
experience and identification of the problem. (Walker, 2005). Marx is correct in identifying the
necessary preconditions yet does not take into consideration that just because the conditions are set
does not mean a rebellion is inevitable. Marx displays how

Persuasive Essay About Travelling Solo
The most incredible thing about traveling solo is that you make all the decisions, right or wrong! You
decide where, how, when and what you will see and do. But certainly, it does not appeal to everyone,
and it does have a downside like not being able to share on the spot experiences with another. There is
no one to share the planning and discussions on the best way to achieve the final desired outcome.
However, traveling solo allows you to learn more about yourself and what you are capable of. Some
people think traveling solo is the boring option but I believe if you are capable of being happy
traveling by yourself, you will find happiness forever. Not only will you never have to depend on
others to make you content but when you travel solo you also give yourself the chance to pursue what
you want, to step out of your comfort zone and meet other people from all sorts of walks of life.
A brilliant idea to volunteer
While travelling abroad solo, volunteering stands out as a very prudent option to consider, especially
keeping you focused and motivated. For instance, if you have just completed your graduation and now
contemplating posting your C.V. on an online portal; in this competitive world, getting a job is a tough
thing. You have to be the best in your field. Resumes are flooded with extra curricular activities,
internships and last but not the least, work experience. However, most of us miss mentioning
involvement in volunteering activities in our resumes. Be a part of

Essay on Legalization of Marijuana
Legalization of Marijuana
One debate that keeps coming up time and again is the topic of the legalization of marijuana.
Marijuana is the most widely used illegal drug.
Nearly one in three teenagers have at least tried marijuana by the time they graduate high school. It is
also gets the most publicity for its legalization.
Over thirty pro legalization organizations have been displayed on the Internet alone. The legalization
of marijuana , although popular by today s drug culture, would be a very dangerous and detrimental
act for the United States to take part in. Not only would it destroy families, but would also lead to the
fall of our economy.
Pro legalization organization argue the fact that legalization would result in the ... Show more content

This causes the decrease in communication through out a house hold. Communication is what keep a
family close and involved in each other s life.
The effects of marijuana and other drugs destroys families enough now, but if it were to become legal
then that number would raise and so would the number of broken homes. We are at a time when our
family structure has already been destroy and where we should be working to rebuild that important
aspect of life.
Legalizing marijuana would not be the way to do that.
Marijuana is famous for making a person lazy and lackadaisical. We are a point in our country when
we have the most amount of unemployment. When already thousands of people are happy living off
welfare, we want to make people even lazier? This is not to say that all people that are unemployed are
lazy or smoke pot for that matter, but if people were more lazy then we already are, it could only mean
bad things for the development of our country. In an age of technological advancements, why slow
down progress with pot?
Although it could be argued that marijuana should be legal for everyone to have, the argument loses to
the hard core facts that can be seen be common sense. Marijuana is a drug that remains illegal. Users
can continue to buy it on the streets, where it belongs. Prohibition is something that should remain for
the good of the

Similarities And Differences Between Christianity And Islam
One of the main differences between Christianity and Islam is the relationship with both religions and
Jesus Christ. The teachings of each religion follow the ideology of said religion. The way the Qur an
and the Bible address the topic of Jesus Christ is complex as there are many similarities, yet there is a
significant difference that causes conflict between the two religions. The question of was Jesus Christ
the son of God is what often causes conflict between the religions. Some say that the differences are
so significant that the two religions hold opposing and irreconcilable views on Jesus Christ. Although
certain views may be opposing, there are not so opposing that they become irreconcilable. When

The Qur an is very explicit in starting that God blessed Mary with Jesus however, he is not the father
of Jesus. Mary conceived Jesus after God breathed into her (21:19) but because God is not a physical
being he can not be the father of Jesus.
This also brings up how in Islam, when you consider that God is not the father of Jesus Christ his
divinity, that he possesses in Christianity is taken away. This means in Islam Jesus is seen as merely a
prophet, rather than the divine being that he is in the Bible. What this does is affect the mean of what
his miracles and his death mean in the context of the faith of Islam. The Qur an makes the claim that
Jesus was never actually crucified. The Qur an claims that Jesus was not killed by the Jews like the
Bible claims and that God just took Jesus upon to heaven. The claim that Jesus was not crucified also
goes with the fact that in Islam there is no original sin. Which in turn would mean that there is no
reason for Jesus to be crucified and die.
Back to the point of Jesus not being the son of God, this brings into question the holy trinity. The Qur
an acknowledges God and the Holy Spirit. Jesus is never mentioned, which goes with the idea in the
Qur an that God stands only and is bound to no one, not even the Holy Spirit. To have the trinity in
Islam is to associate something or someone with God that is not God. This is

Rate Responsive Pacemaker Report
Although heart has its own rhythm and natural electronics stimulation, pacemaker refers an artificial
internal or external device that is implanted in to the chest to regulate and maintain hearts natural
rhythm. In simple word pacemaker send impulse to heart chamber when weak signal of impulse
generated by the heart SA node. My project was based on Rate Responsive pacing systems. During the
day body need different amount of oxygen in the body depending on the state of sleeping, exercise,
sitting, standing and running. When our heart is unable to pump at require rate a rate responsive
pacemaker is comes into action. A rate responsive pacemaker works on principle of special sensors to
recognize changes in how much blood and oxygen are needed by the body during the day. Based on
this information, the heart rate is adjusted to meet the body s changing needs for blood flow.
Figure 1 shows basic block diagram of Temperature sensor based rate responsive pacemaker. The first

The Conflict Between Waverly And Her Mother
However, the conflict between Waverly and her mother is very realistic, due to the nature that many
mothers and daughters have different views which causes disagreements. The people of Chinese
descent have their Chinese heritage, but struggle to keep true to their traditions while living around
American culture. The major conflict in the story, the clash of different cultures, leads to the
weakening of the relationship between the two characters. For example, when Waverly reenters the
apartment after running away, she sees the remains of a large fish, its fleshy head still connected to
bones swimming upstream in vain escape (Tan 508). Waverly sees herself as the fish, stripped clean
by her mother s power, unable to break free. Through the major conflict, the characters struggle to
keep their relationship healthy and loving. Tan explains the feelings of Waverly through an important
symbolic imaginary chess game as she writes, My white pieces screamed as they scurried and fell off
the board one by one. As her men drew closer to my edge, I felt myself growing light (508). This
shows how Waverly feels about the relationship with her mother and how she is losing the battle. The
conflicts are important, especially to the theme, for the conflicts shows where the lack of
understanding comes from and how it can be resolved.
Amy Tan uses symbolism to show the cultures and how this interacts with the conflict of the story.
One example is she used the game of chess as more than

My Proposed Plan For Life
Holley Lentner Events My Proposed Plan for Life in College While attending the University of North
Florida for my first semester, I have learned several new things about myself, like empathy, through
classes like Honors Colloquium. This class, in particular, has provided me with experiences that will
aid me further along in life, like our service projects. Additionally, through the assignments of this
course I have come to realize the skills and abilities that are in need improvement in order for me to be
successful at the occupation I intend to pursue. My aspiration in life is to earn an honest living by
providing health care to those in need of such attention. With this career path, I believe that I will have
both an exciting and rewarding occupation. Helping those in need by promoting health and preventing
disease is something that I found interesting ever since I was little. For when I was younger, I was in
the hospital quite often for countless reasons, and knowing that I was going to be perfectly okay lead
my impressionable self to gain the utmost respect for those in the healthcare business and eventually
lead me to pursue a career in the field. Ultimately, I feel that this profession will allow for me to
contribute to society and in doing so, I remain confident that I will learn a great deal from an
occupation in health care. For a great man once said, Far and away the best prize that life has to offer

Assumptions: How They Effect One s Lifestyle Throughout my lifetime I will cross paths with many
different people. These people could be friends, colleagues, teachers, professors, or significant others,
all of any race or cultural background. When meeting someone for the first time, it is very easy to
make assumptions about that person without knowing anything about them at all. We re all human, we
all do this. In her essay, A Prostitute, a Servant, and a Customer service Representative: A Latina in

Carmen Lugo Lugo claims that what students assume about their professors advocates their attitude
toward their education. Racial stereotypes challenge us to consider our own expectations of what we
should get out of a college education, and who or what constitutes a college professor. She vigorously
uses emotional appeals and establishes her tone of voice using style and word choice in a concerned,
direct manner to argue that students make personal or racially biased assumptions about their
teachers/professors, resulting in a lousy attitude towards education. Throughout the essay, Lugo Lugo
uses personal experiences and builds bridges with her audience to further establish emotional appeals.

that people s portrayals and descriptions of them have become so ingrained in their minds that

Argumentative Essay On Embryonic Stem Cells
i.
Stem cells have the potential to develop and multiply into many different cell types in the body. Stem
cells are able to divide throughout life without limit. This causes the stem cells to be able to develop
into another cell type, which means it is specialised cell; to do a more specific function or it may
remain the same. [5] As stem cells divide they have the ability to help to be able to renew or repair
damaged tissue.[3,5]There are two main stem cell, Embryonic Stem Cells and Adult Stem Cells.
[1,2,3] As my research question is about embryonic stem cells, I will discuss embryonic stem cells
specifically. Embryonic stems cells are pluripotent stem cells that are derived from a human embryo

[4] Stem cells are able to serves as an internal repair and are able to divide without limit. [5] One of
these three unique properties is their ability to self renew. Stem cells are able to renew themselves
without any limit. The second properties that makes stem cells important is how they have the ability
to differentiate into specialised cells with characteristics and have different functions. The third
important property is that stem cells have a large amount of unspecialised cells, which give rise to
specialised cells. [4]
The potential uses for embryonic stem cells are to be able to improve the understanding of how the
body is developing from a fertilised egg. [8] To try understand how diseases happen and how they
develop throughout the body, such as cancer and birth defects, which are a result from cell division
and the process of differentiation to specialised cells. Other uses for embryonic stem cells is that they
have the potential to be able to create and produce new medical drugs with the ability to be able to
study the stems cells to see how they could be able to treat them.

Different attitudes to social welfare reforms from the 19th century onwards depended on what lifestyle
a person was living in. If a person was wealthy, they enjoyed an easy life. However, on the other hand,
if the person was poor then that would make their life harder and difficult to live. Any able bodied
poor person able to work did not receive help from the authorities. They only entered the workhouse
because they were desperate. People within the workhouses lived in terrible conditions, overcrowded,
poor hygiene. Another name given to the workhouse was the slums (Tom, 2016). Strict rules were put

Fur traders and explorers from Eastern Canada were the first Europeans to come to the Prairies. They

Southern Alberta, there is an historical site, Head Smashed in Buffalo Jump, where they exhibit the

Street Team Marketing Research Paper
Street team marketing is a form of guerilla marketing that is used to raise awareness of your music
among your target fans. Street teams were heavily used by hip hop labels to promote their albums.
Labels hired reps to hang up poster and flyers to let people in the street know about their new releases.
Today, many people find out about new music online from their peers. You can adapt this old school
tactic of street team marketing to form your own digital street team. A digital street team can help you
spark conversations about your music and generate a buzz. Here are some tips to help you build your
own digital street team:
1. Find people with influence Your digital street team members function as your endorsers and must
have a strong influence among your target audience. Having a strong influence is not just having a
large amount of followers on social media. An influencer has a large following and the power to sway

Ugh... having five siblings is so tiring, especially when three of them are screaming and or crying. For
example, when there is an intruder at your door, and you need them to be deathly quiet. That night was
just like any other Saturday night. Our parents were out for dinner with a couple of friends. We were
watching a movie, our movie was on playstation vue. We were in Boise. That s when my older sister
(Cheyenne who is fourteen) got an alert from the police about a man who had gotten questioned for a

Proposed Genetic Algorithm Of Protein Tertiary Structure...
In the next subsections, the proposed genetic algorithm of protein tertiary structure prediction will be
described. i) The Proposed Genetic Algorithm Genetic Algorithms (GA) primarily motivated by the
biological theory of evolution, and it was originally developed by J. Holland in 1975 [11]. The GA is
is a search heuristic that mimics the process of natural selection. GA is based on the operations of
population reproduction and selection to acheive optimal results. Through artificial evolution,
successive generations search for fitter adaptations in order to solve a problem. Each generation
consists of a population of chromosomes, representing a series of candidate solutions (called
individuals) to an optimization problem, generally evolves toward better solutions by applying genetic
operations of recombination and mutation to create a new offspring population from the current
population. The process evolution usually starts from a population of randomly generated individuals
or, using domain background knowledge. The generation process repeats for many generations with
the aim of maximizing the objective Function (also called fitness) of the chromosomes that are
evaluated each generation. Usually, the GA termination cindition are set to the maximum number of
generations. ii) Genetic Representation In a GA, a population of chromosomes, representing a series
of candidate solutions (called individuals) to an optimization problem, generally evolves toward better
solutions.

Denzel Washington Rhetorical Speech
In order to deliver a successful speech, there are countless qualities that must be present to reach both
the emotional and logical sense within a crowd. Through the use of rhetorical strategies and by
remaining credible, a speaker or an author can connect with their audience; getting them involved with
their writing. In May of 2011, a man by the name of Denzel Washington used multiple rhetorical
strategies to deliver a graduation speech at the University of Pennsylvania. While revealing all of the
difficult times that he had gone through while in college and discovering what career he wanted to
pursue, he inspired millions of people, leaving a profound effect upon the world. Now, with millions
of fans, Washington is a famous actor that has starred in numerous movies such as Courage Under
Fire, Crimson Tide, and Malcolm X. Washington, along with the authors: Aristotle, Peter Elbow, and
Donald Murray, and many others, have made a big difference in the world, simply by using rhetorical
strategies. The rhetorical strategy, repetition, not only works to get the audience involved, it also
makes the point of the speech clear and helps appeal to the audience s emotion. Washington explained
that he honestly never understood why he would want to fall back on something, instead, he wanted to
fall forward, therefore; he would be able to see where he s actually going to fall. Fall forward. Here s

The Causes Of Family Dynamics
Family Dynamics

Family Dynamics
Harmony among family members creates a sense of belonging and a feeling of security that is
incomparable to other kinds of associations. However, the emergence of tension and conflict may
threaten the prevailing coherence. Conflict is common to all families and siblings can occasionally
disagree; still, continuing clashes can damage relationships and create unnecessary strains among
relatives. Eventually, if such pressures are not resolved, they would affect family celebrations and
make them edgy occasions. Family tensions can be effectively solved through attending family events,
although they may cause siblings to boycott such occasions.
Siblings who have spent most of their early lives together have common values and perceptions.
Consequently, they are expected to live harmoniously together, as they hold common values, ethics,
and beliefs. However, a common upbringing and shared values does not always imply coherent
relationships. According to de Pontent, Aronoff, Mendoza, and Ward (2012) the order of birth, exposes
children to different circumstances depending on their parent s prevailing economic conditions.
Firstborns may arrive when the parents are not financial established. Consequently, they may adopt
different viewpoints from their siblings born when the parents are more affluent. Moreover, birth order
creates sibling rivalry; a cause of tension that may continue into adulthood.

Types Of Courtly Performance During The Modern Court
In the early modern court, the illusion of power could be just as important as power itself. If courtiers
participated in the various performances of the court, they had the potential to gain significant
amounts of influence and prestige. These types of courtly performances were shared by monarchs,
courtiers and lesser figures albeit in sometimes very distinct manners. This performance of the court
consisted of various different aspects, including: associating with influential individuals, royal
ceremonies, courtliness, and bodily performance. One type of courtly performance, which was
primarily a concern of the courtiers and lesser court figures, was the association and ingratiation of
one s self with influential court figures in order to gain status and respect. This was a performance in
that courtiers were, in a way, required to form relationships on the basis of status and in the court
friends were primarily a tool to advance one s standing in the court. A prime example of this is
William Chiffinch the Page of the Backstairs of Charles II s court. A man of humble origins, Chiffinch
was able to rise to a position of significant power and influence through his connection to a powerful
individual, the king. Like many of Charles II s household servants... Chiffinch had begun this intimacy
with the king before the Restoration. He and his elder brother, Thomas, had been introduced to the
Prince of Wales and Charles I s Oxford camp by Bishop Duppa of Salisbury (Allen

Bigotry And Social Oppression In The Early 20th Century
Oppression is defined as prolonged cruel or unjust treatment or control. Oppression comes in many
forms: racial oppression, misogyny, class oppression, and many other forms. Social oppression, a
concept that describes a relationship of dominance and subordination between categories of people,
causes one group of people to benefit from the systematic abuse, exploitation, and injustice of another
group of people. Bigotry is one of the main causes of social oppression. Failing to tolerate those who
form different opinions causes people to commit cruel acts. Evidence of bigotry and social oppression
can be seen through the acts that the Nazis committed in the early 20th century. Picasso s Guernica
(1937) was created during a time when Nazis reigned. He created this piece, reflecting his opposition
to their actions. Guernica addresses the darkness and brutality that the Nazis represented. This theme
is discussed in works by both Nietzsche and Fanon. Through Fanon s examination of the superiority
complex in Black Skin, White Masks and Nietzsche s discussion of Apolline culture, I ve discovered
that there is always a party that designated themselves as the dominant culture, contributing to social
oppression.
Guernica (1937) was created to be part of the Spanish Pavilion at the International Exposition in Paris
in 1937. Pablo Picasso s motivation for painting the piece was the news of the German Nazi bombing
of the Basque town, Guernica. Picasso had seen dramatic photos published

Ted Lavender Characteristics
If you were to ask any individual what their idea of a hero is, they ll most likely give you a perfect
description of superman, but that s the fictional visual that s been placed into the minds of the general
public. What is a true hero? A true hero is selfless, brave, and determined; someone like Ted Lavender.
Lavender was highly respected, he was as brave as he could be without needing recognition, and he
took a bullet to the head. He will never be stripped of his humble and heroic reputation.
A man who puts his life on the line; a man who does what he feels he must do. It s evident that no man
wants to go into war, anyone could run from it like Tim O brien when he was drafted into the Vietnam
War, but Lavender faced a terrifying scenario head on. A hero is selfless, brave, and determined. The
act of fighting in the war automatically makes a hero all of the above; wartime hero s put their life on
the line, they commit to their duties and they never know whether they ll come out of it alive. These
hero s demonstrate many of the characteristics of a hero and they do so with dignity. A hero impacts
all aspects of someone s life and leaves a positive impression, but there s no limit to the amount of
characteristics that could be used to define a hero. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

that those who are the most targeted by this disease are the immigrants that come to Newark. Most
people of higher classes began to accuse immigrants of bringing the disease, rather than focusing on
eradicating the disease. Everyone wants to point fingers at immigrants because it is easier to point out
those who are new to town, and are not pivotl to society. For these immigrants, many of them are
victims to this disease all due to being forced in a poor lifestyle because of their financial status. Stuart
Galishoff, a writer, also touches on Cholera hitting Newark, and writes a book titled, Newark, the
Nation s unhealthiest City . In this book he claims, The epidemic raged out of control until late
August. By a quirk of fate the last case occurred in early September in the same house in which the
diseases had first appeared some two months earlier. In all, 127 had contracted Cholera and 65 died

when this occurred, as well as the toll it took on its residents. This Information can be used to see how
a disease can come to a city, collect victims, and then eventually leave. Cholera is a disease that is a

Introduction:
The aim of this investigation is to explore whether reflexes are better suing a preferred hand or non
preferred hand. The method of this conducting this experiment was using a ruler and dropping it
between the index finger and thumb of the participants being experimented on and measuring the
distance the ruler has been dropped.
Technology was significantly utilised to provide visual representation of the results in graphs,
boxplots and also provide the measures of central tendency and spread. The utilisation of technology
also made the calculation of the results easier, hence the use of technology was highly recommended.
The specific population chosen for this experiment were the male Year 11 students and a sample of 30

Since the spread is not quite significant as 50% of the data were in a small range, thus the results were
consistent therefore, it can be concluded that the mean gives an appropriate representation of the
results.
The boxplot and histogram of the non preferred hand indicates that there was a significant spread
between the results obtained, whilst the results also showed a symmetrical spread. Since there was a
significant spread, the mean may not give an appropriate representation of the results obtained
however, a large spread indicates that the results had large differences between the individuals
experimented on.
However, a higher percentage of the preferred hand would be above the mean as it is slightly
negatively skewed, whilst the non preferred hand is more symmetrical hence higher percentage of its
results near the mean.
The standard deviation of the preferred and non preferred hand results were quite similar which
indicates that the spread of the data were practically identical.
The preferred hand data has 50% of its results in a range of 2.6 cm, thus indicating that the results
were quite consistent as 50% of the results occurred in the range of 15 17.6 cm. Whilst the rest of the
data was quite spread quite as the minimum was 8.6cm and the maximum was 21.6 cm, which is a
range of 13 cm. Therefore the rest of data had been spread evenly as seen in the boxplot and

The Bolshevik Regime s Ability to Defeat Its Opponents by 1922
By the end of 1919, with only a few isolated groups of Anti Bolsheviks fighting, the Bolshevik regime
was evidently winning the Russian Civil War. The reasons which lie behind their ability to defeat all
their opponents by 1922 is mainly due to a well disciplined and equipped army, Lenin s strong,
purposeful leadership and the advantage of the disunity of the Anti Bolshevik force.

Another advantage which helped the Bolshevik regime win the Civil War was Lenin s strong,

My Summer Reading Influenced My Life
A typical summer day in the life of a six year old girl would consist of many common fun activities
such as coloring, watching the latest television shows on Disney Channel, and playing with Barbies.
However, when I was six years old my summer did not include any of those activities. Rather, my day

activities most six year old girls did at my age, but I was much more fascinated with learning.
Through reading I enjoyed learning new words, phrases, and ideas. For example, I would loved

people just under half, 42% classed themselves as Christian and around 8% said they were of a
different religion. The number of people who said they had no religion was hugely increased at around
25%per cent. Today, even with the growing amount of Islam Buddhism and Hinduism, Christianity
still remains the major religious tradition.
Immigration
Immigration has easily had the largest and most significant effect on Australia s religious landscape
and has managed to see Australia become a vast multi cultural and religious community. Immigration
has taken several years to make significant changes to the Australian religious landscape. After the
early settlers arrived and began to set up churches and

Racial Equality In America Essay
Throughout the history of America, there has been constant problems with the quest for racial equality.
In three different time periods; early views on race, civil rights movement, and the fight for equality in
America, how race is deceived has been altered in a variety of ways. To this day society in America
has not fully accessed complete racial equality, but have furthered the advance to achieve it in creating
more laws that design equality among everyone. In early American history there was very little racial
equality. This was the time most people tried to create ways to keep unequal treatment between the
two races. For instance, to keep enforcing whites to a higher standard than African Americans after
slavery a law known as Jim Crow ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
He ordered the 101st Airborne to help protect the black students attending the all white school. The
presence of the 101st Airborne showed that there was a huge struggle for racial equality. It was very
discouraging that such extensive precautions were needed just to make sure 9 black students could
attend an all white school and not have to fear for their lives. Most people didn t think that integration
would work, but with the lengths that Dwight D. Eisenhower made to make sure integration was
finally happening in the South, proved that someday it would. The media was on constant coverage of
the all White School in Little Rock Arkansas. Reporters could of had the opportunity many times to
help out the students, instead they choose to just sit there and record everything that was happening.
They didn t intervene and try to help persuade people to do the right thing, but instead just watch from
the sidelines. The media helped prove that just like many people who saw what was going on and
knew it was wrong, would not do anything about it. Some reporters may have agreed or disagreed
about the stance of the black Americans attending the school, but whether they did or not most of them
would never stick up for them or help them when they need

Absenteeism In Beyond Massa
The book entitled Beyond Massa Sugar Management in British Caribbean, 1770 1834 , was written by
Dr. John F. Campbell, a lecturer of History at the University of the West Indies (Trinidad). The book
provides a revisionist perspective of managerial strategies used on the sugar plantations and outlines
how important the relationship between the enslaved and the plantation managers are, to maximize
production. Sugar was depicted as the main source of commodity during the seventeenth and
eighteenth centuries and the book focuses mainly on the Golden Grove planation, in Jamaica to
highlight this. This plantation was owned by an absentee owner Chaloner Arcedekne, however, it was
managed by his close friend, Simon Taylor. Dr. Campbell narrows ... Show more content on

John Campbell. By critically examining historical facts, he challenged the aspects of slavery with
supporting evidence. Through his revisionist perspective, readers can grasp the significant factors
portrayed as he captures the essence of life on sugar plantations in the Caribbean. He also illustrates
how HRM strategies were used to assess them. The book reveals absenteeism as a normal trait of
plantation owners, this was because they preferred to live an elite lifestyle in London and hired
managers to run their estates. Due to absenteeism, it reinforces why HRM strategies had to be used by
plantation managers. The corruption of power elites as well as the roll of females can relate to the
Caribbean s present. As it shows how one manager John Kelly affecting the outcome of a situation at
hand, due to his vast admiration of other through the plantation. In the Caribbean, managers are highly
rated and trusted by their board of directors which influences the decision they make. Gender issues
especially relate, as it shows how the males were seen as being superior to females in the work aspect
and roll of jobs. And as Dr. Campbell shows females were influential throughout the sugar plantation.
In our present day, females are becoming stronger and are slowly rising to the stature of

Brittany and her team were approached by community leaders in Dallas where Brittany was living
who wanted to see if this model could translate in their own city. There was a need to help women in
Dallas. Women who were escaping domestic abuse, were victims of sex trafficking, or were formerly
incarcerated and struggling to enter the workforce. Akola ran a pilot in 2015 and found its model
translated well in Dallas, but was in need of a few adjustments. The snafu was that a living wage in
Uganda is obviously much different than in Dallas. Women working in our mass retail line [in
Uganda] were making $7 to $8 an hour for jewelry that s under $100, Brittany says. Their goal was to
provide women with a $15 wage in Dallas. In order to make ends meet, an elevated jewelry line was
created with pieces ranging from $295 to $500 prices that could support a $15 wage. Although the
Uganda line was now retailing at hundreds of stores throughout the U.S., finding retailers to carry the
luxury line was a different challenge. For the most part, the line was only available at local luxury
boutiques in

Louis de Bernières Novel Captain Corelli s Mandolin Essay
Louis de Bernières Novel Captain Corelli s Mandolin
Already from the first chapter the author introduces us to one of the most important characters of the
book, Dr. Iannis. There are several factors that help the writer to present him to the readers. The most
important ones are language (including the narrative style) and classical allusions.
The diction in this chapter is very difficult and contains a lot of medical terminology. This shows us
that Dr. Iannis is a very educated man and that probably most of the people on the island respect him
due to this superiority. From the phrases that he uses we find out that he likes to impress people,
especially if they are his patients. For example in the first chapter instead of ... Show more content on

This tells the readers that probably the people in the village don t always feel comfortable being
around Dr. Iannis.
Altogether the style of narration is very interesting, it s an interlace between the thoughts of the
omniscient narrator and the thoughts of Dr. Iannis.
The images and the classical allusions that the author uses in this chapter are also very important in
presenting the new character to the readers. We soon find out that being a doctor (probably the only
one on the island) is not the only thing that Dr. Iannis does. In his free time he is writing a book about
the island, where he lives. And the reader already feels an intimate connection growing between him,
Cephallonia, and its people. We know that he is very attached to
Cephallonia, because he cannot write a book about it, without expressing any feelings towards the
island. Thus he changes the name of the book from The New History of Cephallonia to A Personal
History of Cephallonia . Now he could forget about leaving out the loaded adjectives and the ancient
historical grudges, now he could be vitriolic about the Romans, the Normans [...] even the islanders
themselves. as soon as he changes the title, Dr. Iannis feels free to express all of his

  • 2. Finger Marks Techniques Finger marks are known as a small print that can be left on any surface, each finger mark is unique to an individual. There are multiple types of finger marks the three main ones are known as a Whorl, Arch and Loops. The finger marks are always photographed before being collected at a crime scene, there are several different types of techniques that are used to be able to lift the prints. There are hinge lifts, rubber lifts and cellophane tape. Hinge lift can be used using multiple different colours backgrounds this to allow for the visualisation of the finger marks so that they can be developed using different colour powders. The hinge lift is placed onto the finger mark and is pressed down evenly over the mark, the lifted print is then covered ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... There will be 8 different finger marks that will be used each time for each experiment that will take place. These prints will be created by one individual to be able to keep a constant pattern within the practical. There are two slightly methods that will be used, the first method is cyanoacrylate fuming the item that contains the print will be suspended within the tank this is to ensure that the item is exposed to the fumes. This process will take up to 45 minutes once the time is completed the whitish coloured print will appear on the item showing the finger mark/s. The print can be enhance further using a fluorescent dye the fan is then turned on and is then used to circulate the fumes which will then increase the surface contact between the latent print residue and the cyanoacrylate vapours. A heating method will then be applied and the cyanoacrylate will be placed onto a dish and then a heating tool will then be placed onto the dish until it accelerates the polymerization process of the cyanoacrylate however there is a possibility that heating the cyanoacrylate will accelerate the volatility which then in turn will mean a faster vapour release which will then accelerate the recovery of the latent print. Another method that is going to be used within this practical is like the first method, however this current method will be using approximately 25 drops of liquid cyanoacrylate and this will then be placed into a magnetically locked in a shelf above the item that is about to be fumed. The fume cupboard will then be heated to 120 degrees with the humidity being maintained at 80 degrees. The heating and the humidity cycle will then take approximately 30 minutes, the fuming cabinet will need to take 20 minutes to remove any harmful residual vapours. Once this is complete the print that has been exposed by the fumes ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 3. Internal Control Of A Business For a business to limit fraud capabilities, it is important to have a strong set of internal control. Internal control is the organizational plan and all the related measures designed to . . . safeguard assets, encourage employees to follow company policies, promote operational efficiency and ensure accurate reliable accounting records (Miller Nobels, Mattison, Matsumura, 2016). When establishing internal control, it is important to remember the necessary components: control procedures, risk assessment, information system, monitoring of controls and environment (Miller Nobels, Mattison, Matsumura, 2016). The control procedures range from hiring trustworthy employees though securing digital information. Risk assessment deals with assessing the company and identifying the risks involved in operating the company. With rapid advancements in technology, information systems must be secured, information being a valuable resource. Monitoring of controls is another component that should not be overlooked. Internal and external audits can help safeguard the company s assets. Finally, the environment can be thought of as the culture of the company. Top executives leading by example in honesty helps create a fraud resistant culture (Miller Nobels, Mattison, Matsumura, 2016). Given the scenario in Widget Inc., it is important to utilize all personnel in the internal control of the company. Currently, before internal control is evaluated, there are two employees in the office ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 4. Using A Different Setup Than A Standard Linear Optical System Using a different setup than a standard linear optical system, [SOURCE]Choi et al. are able to use trapped ions as qubits in an optical quantum computer. As a direct result, unique possibilities for addressing scalability issues are discovered. Since trapped ions already have fundamentally low levels of coherent error, suppression of that error in a scaled quantum computer requires significantly less error correction. Also, the group demonstrates an architecture in which more than two entangled qubits could be addressed simultaneously, further expanding the possibility of scaling. Some research indicates that linear optical systems could contain unexplored features that would greatly increase the feasibility of scalability for quantum ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Properties like this make working with double donor systems much easier. Still, some of the end results of experiments using single dot schemes have advanced quantum computing in general, via a combination of multiple schemes. An article by Calderón et al., in tandem with other previous experiments that allow for coherence times near a second, provide a possible solution to avoiding coherent error. The use of a single electron donor for isolated qubits has one interesting result: Calderón describes the unique state when he says if they form a triplet, selection rules imply a much longer lived state. This unique situation does not come as a result of double donors, only single. By using only single dot triplets, it might be possible to combine the system with others because of its abnormally long coherence time and high accuracy. As discussed, the use of single dot architecture could be combined in unique ways with linear optical schemes. [SOURCE] Economou et al. support this idea, stating [s]pins...have received a great deal of attention because they interact strongly with light and provide the opportunity for ultrafast all optical implementation of logical operations. • 6. Marx and the Bourgeoisie Essay In this essay I plan to analyze the claim by Karl Marx that the bourgeoisie class produces its own gravediggers . I will first present a definition of the bourgeoisie and the proletariat classes along with what Marx means by his claim. After discussing Marx s claim and his support I will assert that his claim is false and was based on a false assumption. I will argue that Marx does not allow the possibility of an adaptation on behalf of the bourgeoisie. Furthermore, that Marx contradicts his claim with his own ideologies from his critique of capitalism. Finally, Marx adopts historical determinism to support his view which has proven to be flawed. The claim that the bourgeoisie produces its own gravediggers is based on circumstantial ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... We see, therefore, how the modern bourgeoisie is itself the product of a long course of development, of a series of revolutions in the modes of production and of exchange. (Marx, 424). In this sense, the bourgeoisie have the ability to change since they themselves are products of revolutions. In other terms, the bourgeoisie are an always changing class that has found ways to stay in power through political hegemony over the proletariat class. Marx conjures the proper preconditions for a successful rebellion but again contradicts himself through his own ideologies. Although Marx believes that capitalism will be responsible for the proletariat rebellion it is the same system that will estrange man from each other and thus prevent a successful revolt. Marx asserts certain preconditions that must exist in order for a rebellion to take place. Marx believes that capitalism provides these preconditions and therefore a revolt by the proletariat class is inevitable. As discussed in Professor Kathryn Walker s lecture, Marx describes four preconditions for a successful social rebellion, A mass of people for rebellion, a problem to rebel against, a common experience and identification of the problem. (Walker, 2005). Marx is correct in identifying the necessary preconditions yet does not take into consideration that just because the conditions are set does not mean a rebellion is inevitable. Mary conceived Jesus after God breathed into her (21:19) but because God is not a physical being he can not be the father of Jesus. This also brings up how in Islam, when you consider that God is not the father of Jesus Christ his divinity, that he possesses in Christianity is taken away. This means in Islam Jesus is seen as merely a prophet, rather than the divine being that he is in the Bible. What this does is affect the mean of what his miracles and his death mean in the context of the faith of Islam. The Qur an makes the claim that Jesus was never actually crucified. The Qur an claims that Jesus was not killed by the Jews like the Bible claims and that God just took Jesus upon to heaven. The claim that Jesus was not crucified also goes with the fact that in Islam there is no original sin. Which in turn would mean that there is no reason for Jesus to be crucified and die. Back to the point of Jesus not being the son of God, this brings into question the holy trinity. The Qur an acknowledges God and the Holy Spirit. The Conflict Between Waverly And Her Mother However, the conflict between Waverly and her mother is very realistic, due to the nature that many mothers and daughters have different views which causes disagreements. The people of Chinese descent have their Chinese heritage, but struggle to keep true to their traditions while living around American culture. The major conflict in the story, the clash of different cultures, leads to the weakening of the relationship between the two characters. For example, when Waverly reenters the apartment after running away, she sees the remains of a large fish, its fleshy head still connected to bones swimming upstream in vain escape (Tan 508). Waverly sees herself as the fish, stripped clean by her mother s power, unable to break free. Through the major conflict, the characters struggle to keep their relationship healthy and loving. Tan explains the feelings of Waverly through an important symbolic imaginary chess game as she writes, My white pieces screamed as they scurried and fell off the board one by one. As her men drew closer to my edge, I felt myself growing light (508). This shows how Waverly feels about the relationship with her mother and how she is losing the battle. In the next subsections, the proposed genetic algorithm of protein tertiary structure prediction will be described. i) The Proposed Genetic Algorithm Genetic Algorithms (GA) primarily motivated by the biological theory of evolution, and it was originally developed by J. Holland in 1975 [11]. The GA is is a search heuristic that mimics the process of natural selection. GA is based on the operations of population reproduction and selection to acheive optimal results. Through artificial evolution, successive generations search for fitter adaptations in order to solve a problem. Each generation consists of a population of chromosomes, representing a series of candidate solutions (called individuals) to an optimization problem, generally evolves toward better solutions by applying genetic operations of recombination and mutation to create a new offspring population from the current population. The process evolution usually starts from a population of randomly generated individuals or, using domain background knowledge. The generation process repeats for many generations with the aim of maximizing the objective Function (also called fitness) of the chromosomes that are evaluated each generation. Usually, the GA termination cindition are set to the maximum number of generations. ii) Genetic Representation In a GA, a population of chromosomes, representing a series of candidate solutions (called individuals) to an optimization problem, generally evolves toward better solutions. ... Family tensions can be effectively solved through attending family events, although they may cause siblings to boycott such occasions. Siblings who have spent most of their early lives together have common values and perceptions. Consequently, they are expected to live harmoniously together, as they hold common values, ethics, and beliefs. However, a common upbringing and shared values does not always imply coherent relationships. According to de Pontent, Aronoff, Mendoza, and Ward (2012) the order of birth, exposes children to different circumstances depending on their parent s prevailing economic conditions. Firstborns may arrive when the parents are not financial established. Consequently, they may adopt different viewpoints from their siblings born when the parents are more affluent. Moreover, birth order creates sibling rivalry; a cause of tension that may continue into adulthood. ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 27. Types Of Courtly Performance During The Modern Court In the early modern court, the illusion of power could be just as important as power itself. If courtiers participated in the various performances of the court, they had the potential to gain significant amounts of influence and prestige. These types of courtly performances were shared by monarchs, courtiers and lesser figures albeit in sometimes very distinct manners. This performance of the court consisted of various different aspects, including: associating with influential individuals, royal ceremonies, courtliness, and bodily performance. One type of courtly performance, which was primarily a concern of the courtiers and lesser court figures, was the association and ingratiation of one s self with influential court figures in order to gain status and respect. This was a performance in that courtiers were, in a way, required to form relationships on the basis of status and in the court friends were primarily a tool to advance one s standing in the court. A prime example of this is William Chiffinch the Page of the Backstairs of Charles II s court. A man of humble origins, Chiffinch was able to rise to a position of significant power and influence through his connection to a powerful individual, the king. • 32. Bigotry And Social Oppression In The Early 20th Century Oppression is defined as prolonged cruel or unjust treatment or control. Oppression comes in many forms: racial oppression, misogyny, class oppression, and many other forms. Social oppression, a concept that describes a relationship of dominance and subordination between categories of people, causes one group of people to benefit from the systematic abuse, exploitation, and injustice of another group of people. Bigotry is one of the main causes of social oppression. Failing to tolerate those who form different opinions causes people to commit cruel acts. Evidence of bigotry and social oppression can be seen through the acts that the Nazis committed in the early 20th century. Picasso s Guernica (1937) was created during a time when Nazis reigned. He created this piece, reflecting his opposition to their actions. Guernica addresses the darkness and brutality that the Nazis represented. This theme is discussed in works by both Nietzsche and Fanon. Through Fanon s examination of the superiority complex in Black Skin, White Masks and Nietzsche s discussion of Apolline culture, I ve discovered that there is always a party that designated themselves as the dominant culture, contributing to social oppression. Guernica (1937) was created to be part of the Spanish Pavilion at the International Exposition in Paris in 1937. Pablo Picasso s motivation for painting the piece was the news of the German Nazi bombing of the Basque town, Guernica. Picasso had seen dramatic photos published ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Lavender was highly respected, he was as brave as he could be without needing recognition, and he took a bullet to the head. He will never be stripped of his humble and heroic reputation. The method of this conducting this experiment was using a ruler and dropping it between the index finger and thumb of the participants being experimented on and measuring the distance the ruler has been dropped. Technology was significantly utilised to provide visual representation of the results in graphs, boxplots and also provide the measures of central tendency and spread. Since the spread is not quite significant as 50% of the data were in a small range, thus the results were consistent therefore, it can be concluded that the mean gives an appropriate representation of the results. The boxplot and histogram of the non preferred hand indicates that there was a significant spread between the results obtained, whilst the results also showed a symmetrical spread. Since there was a significant spread, the mean may not give an appropriate representation of the results obtained however, a large spread indicates that the results had large differences between the individuals experimented on. However, a higher percentage of the preferred hand would be above the mean as it is slightly negatively skewed, whilst the non preferred hand is more symmetrical hence higher percentage of its results near the mean. The standard deviation of the preferred and non preferred hand results were quite similar which indicates that the spread of the data were practically identical. The preferred hand data has 50% of its results in a range of 2.6 cm, thus indicating that the results were quite consistent as 50% of the results occurred in the range of 15 17.6 cm.
