The Reflection Of The Observation Of Vertical Jumping
Vertical Jumping
Volleyball, basketball, high jump, hurdling, long jump, and pole vaulting all have a certain motor skill
in common and that motor skill is jumping. Jumping is a gross motor skill which coordinates
movements which requires the use of the large muscles in the arms, legs, torso, and feet. Furthermore,
jumping requires strength, balance, coordination, body awareness, and motor planning. Our lower
extremity contains multiple muscles in order for a person to jump. Many of the muscles in the lower
extremity cross more than one joint. The basic muscles that are used during jumping are the rectus
femoris, gastrocnemius, semimembranosus, semitendinosus, and the long head of biceps femoris. The
semimembranosus, semitendinosus, and the long head of the biceps femoris are muscles that make up
the hamstrings. Our task was to observe and report a certain motor skill and behavior in different
stages of learning. Our group observed Toddlers/Preschool, Grade School, Jr. High, High School, and
College students jumping in a non structure play (like recess), structure (like PE class or sport
practice), and a competitive environment.
Toddler/Preschool
Toddlers and Preschoolers love to jump and they ll attempt to do it whenever and wherever as much as
possible. They seem to have a fascination with jumping off the ground and momentarily floating in the
air. Jumping is a required movement in most children s games, sports, and activities. Children have

Causes anf Results of Communism in Eastern and Central Europe
Communism was one of the political theories founded by Friedrich Engels and Karl Marx in the end
of the 19th century . Both of these philosophers had the same point of view concerning the economic
and political principles. Also, Communism brought up many changes to International Relations , and
the body of the essay will describe the causes and results of Communism in Eastern and central
Europe. In 1844 Engel and Marx started to discover interesting facts about Communism and no longer
in 1848 they decided to write and publish Communism Manifesco , which was thought to be one of
the best and influential political books ever. Under Communism Manifesco all people were thought to
be equal. The main idea for everyone was not to be ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
A lot of countries were influenced by the Communism. Among them are: Eastern German and Poland,
The Communism in Poland lasted for forty years that brought a new and specific changes in the
government at the end of the Second World War. Poland had a really complicated situation because of
Iosef Stalin and his Communist Party. He described his points of view in a very clear way, Imposing
Communism on Poland was as absurd as putting a saddle on a cow . Moreover ,everything was under
control of the Polish Government of Stalin, including a lot of spheres as culture, social aspects of life
and economy. As government had all the power in their hands, people were absolutely deprived of
power. That kind of period was strongly disliked by people and brought a lot of strikes, protections
and even attacks. As the result, the Communism system had a bad influence on the development of
Poland. Eastern German was also under the Communism regime. The historic German capital of
Berlin, although in the East was a special case. Berlin itself was split into 4 sectors after the war. West
Berlin was part of West Germany despite being completely surrounded by East Germany. The Eastern
part of German was absolutely poor in all its aspects. The lack of food, transport and all the necessary
goods lead to the panic. To prevent bad causes of that situation, German government

Abuse and Heredity
Abuse and Heredity Research question: Is child abuse hereditary?
There are many types of abuse such as alcohol abuse, drug abuse, domestic abuse just to name a few
but of all the types of abuse there is one type of abuse that is probably one of the easiest to pass down
and that is child abuse. Child abuse is easy to pass down because we look to what we know when were
not certain what to do. The term for passing down child abuse is known as intergenerational abuse.
There are four methods of child abuse and they are physical, sexual, neglect, and emotional abuse
(Baltes, Smelser, Pg 1672). In the study of a sixteen year old mother who had been abused her whole
life, it was found that the mother resorted to spanking her five month old ... Show more content on

Capaldi and Pears studies show that abuse is found in low socioeconomical environments and also
with relatively young parents (2001, pg 1442). Bensley says one process of intergenerational abuse is
the normative beliefs regarding appropriate parenting behaviors, which she describes as believing that
certain abusive behavior are normal ( Bensley, Ruggles, Simmons, Harris, Williams, Putvin, Allen,
2003, pg 1323). Which supports the idea that an abusive parent justifies abuse as a legitimate
punishment ( Bensley, Ruggles, Simmons, Harris, Williams, Putvin, Allen, 2003, pg 1331). Graur
identifies 3 different cause of child abuse and neglect, the first cause is called the economic theory
which says economic depression or socioemotional difficulties cause rejection behaviors on the part of
the parent (1996, p.55 56). The second cause is called the ecological theory which says any disorder
affecting society will also affect the family (1996, p. 56). The third and final cause of neglect found by
Graur is called the personality theory which states that traits such as low self esteem, sadness, and
previous experiences affect the way a parent acts towards a child (1996, p.56). In the article titled
Child abuse there are 4 main cause of child abuse identified, the first has to do with life history and

History Of The Constellation
he explains most of his article on Lockheed s creation, the Constellation. If you have any interest of
aviation this article would be a great read. The Constellation was the first pressurized airliner, also the
first tricycle gear airliner. The Constellation was a war fighter. The Constellation was mostly used
during World War II. Lockheed wanted to make something big, and they did. The Constellation was
used to carry lots of cargo, from troops to supplies.
It was a part of aviation history, and the Constellation was built by the famous Lockheed Martin
corporation. This article will give information that some might not even heard of. The author starts
from the beginning, how the Constellation began on its journey. There was a lot of models ... Show

Through Pan American World Airways (Pan Am) and TWA partnering, the Constellation was finally in
the airliner business. When the Constellation airlines started they only allowed service between New
York and Paris. But no longer than a month, they started running service between New York and Los
Angeles. Back then even airplane cost a lot. The amount that a Constellation cost was between
$685,000 to $720,000. Now a days that s 7 8 million dollars, and that s just the cost of one
Constellation. TWA and Pan Am got a deal from the Government when they bought the airplanes.
Well there is no clear evidence it can easily be seen why they were so cheap. The Constellations weren
t in great shape. They were a part of World War II, and most of them probably had bullet holes in
them, and were in bad shape.
Like I said earlier the Constellation had its ups and downs. It seemed to have served great during the
war and was fit for the right job. After the war while the Constellation was in airline service two
people have died while taking flight. One passenger s window popped off and he was sucked right out,
another was sitting next to a cabin window and that popped off as well and he was too sucked out of
the Constellation. But even after these incidents People still had the nerve to fly in the Constellation. If
it was up to me I would have said no instantly. Hearing about this now has made me skeptical to fly

Cloning Inhumane Analysis
Just last year, James s dog, Starshine passed away; today, james plays fetch with Starshine everyday
after he comes home from school but Starshine isn t who she is last year before her tragic death. In
truth, the Starshine James plays with nowadays is the original Starshine s clone. People all around the
world have been cloning their pets before their pets die. However, different people have completely
different opinions on this method. Some believe that instead of cloning their pets, people should just
save an animal at an animal shelter rather than spending thousands of dollars on a clone. Others say it
s a positive way of keeping their pet around. In my opinion, the act of cloning animals is completely
inhumane because the clone still won t be exactly the same as the original, especially ... Show more

This was the case for a couple living in Texas: they cloned their beloved pet Chance, a Brahman bull,
but the results were quite a surprise. Chance was a kind, and timid bull, unlike others of his kind, and
loved to take pictures with children; when he died, it greatly devastated the couple. Eventually, they
payed to clone Chance. In contrary, the cloned Chance didn t have the gentle manner the previous
Chance had; the clone was restless, and very violent. Furthermore, the husband had to be hospitalized
several times after quite a few violent encounters with the pet. Cloning has this aspect and effect on
animals, which is one reason why people are strongly against human cloning. In addition, although
there aren t any studies uet that specifically study the behavior of cloned animals and pets, research on
cloned cows and pigs prove that there are behavioral differences and even some difference in the
phenotype. Therefore, cloning truly doesn t bring back one s pet, for that they are different

The Indian Population are Living in Severy Poverty
Bajpai, Sachs and Volavka (2005) studied the confronts to meet the MDGs in India. The authors
revealed that India would attain some of eight goals like reducing extreme poverty and would miss
many of others like reducing hunger, reducing infant mortality rate, achieving environmental
sustainability. Indian population living in severe poverty has been diminishing sharply since economic
reforms started in 1991. The headcount poverty rate in 2015 would be less than half of the rate in
1990, as called for by the Millennium Development Goals. The proportion of children in India who
are continually malnourished remains very high. India is far behind in the goal to realize universal
primary school enrolment. In 1999 2000, the net primary enrollment rate was only 52.5 percent. It is a
long way off from the goal of 100 percent enrollment by 2015. Primary completion rates increased
slightly between 1993 and 2000, from 58.7 percent to 61.4 percent. But dropout rates are clearly still
very high. Gender disparity in schooling differs across India. It is highest in Bihar, Uttar Pradesh, and
Rajasthan, where gross primary enrollment rates are about two thirds for females than for males.
Development on the targets to reduce child and infant mortality has been made in India. The country is
not likely to meet the goal of reducing these rates by two thirds between 1990 and 2015 if decreases
remain at their present rate. India is suffering from deteriorating crises of water, soils, and

Analyzing Truman Capote s In Cold Blood
Knowledge
Title
Truman Capote chose the title In Cold Blood possibly because Dick and Perry murdered four innocent
members of a family. The term of cold blood is defined as without feeling or with cruel intent and that
is evident in the novel. Dick and Perry killed these member of family with pretty much no reason in
doing so and the deaths were brutal. This is an obvious reason for the title name but maybe there is a
hidden meaning in the title. The little town of Holcomb was a very peaceful place where everyone had
their doors unlocked and they all trusted one another. Dick and Perry took the towns feeling of
security and comfort once they committed this act.
Genre Setting
The setting of this novel takes place in Holcomb, Kansas, ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

5. Police discover and gold wristwatch in Nancy Clutter s shoes so that makes investigators believe it
was a possible robbery.
6. Floyd Wells snitches on the two mean and tells investigators about him and Dick s conversations
about the Clutter family.
7. Dick and Perry go to Kansas City.

Graceling Character Analysis
I was really excited when people told me there was romance, action, and adventure because they re
my favorite genres. But, I was disappointed when I read the first page. It s 3rd person limited. I
thought it would be a little harder to connect with the characters. However, as I kept rereading some
lines and questioning the characters, it became easier for me to understand them. For example, Katsa,
the main character of Graceling, written by Kristin Cashmore, musters up her courage to defy Randa
because she could no longer tolerate him even though she was afraid to imagine what would happen
next. Randa wanted others to fear him and to do that, he had Katsa torture people who didn t listen to
his orders. According to Susan Fisk, empathy for another s happiness and suffering depends
fundamentally on recognizing that the other has a mind that is, the same capacities for thought,
emotion, desire, intention, and self awareness as ourselves. I empathize with Bitterblue as she is strong
facing hardships throughout the book.
Bitterblue s father is a villain who enjoys torturing others, but her courage still remains. Leck s grace
allows him to manipulate people with his voice and the people who hears it, spreads it. He has the
option to ask, but he prefers to do it with his grace instead as he finds it more amusing and hides his
grace with an eyepatch. That way, others would not suspect that he is a Graceling. My father isn t like
that. But, I am able to understand that others would find Bitterblue s emotions aren t ordinary. What
would Leck have her do when he controls her? Would he make her kill her loved ones? What if he did
that to you and if he was your father? Having someone take control of your mind is absolutely
terrifying. Of course she would be scared too. But would fear take over her mind? No. As Leck
controls Bitterblue, Asher, and his whole kingdom, I wonder what his purpose is, He s the king of
Monsea yet he needs to control them all mentally too. Perhaps he wants to take over the world.
Although he controlled Bitterblue and her mom multiple times, they found out a remedy to snap out of
it which was by reminding each other. Whenever she saw her mom s scars, she would be able to
remember who Leck truly is.

Information Has Become An Invaluable Resource
Information has become an invaluable resource. In modern society, it is necessary to be able to send
and receive data quickly in order to keep up with the rest of the world. With so much technology at
our fingertips, it is almost unheard of for someone to be without a device that can connect the Internet.
The technology that allows these devices to communicate with one another is known as the Internet of
Things. Because of this concept, people are now able to exchange information faster than ever before.
The idea of machines being able to communicate with each other has been around since the early
1800s. The telegraph, invented in the 1830s, became the first landline device able to transmit and

IoT Analytics https://iot analytics.com/top 10 iot project application areas q3 2016/ One of the most
significant applications of IoT in society involves the media and entertainment industry. In 2014, the
industry was the third fastest growing in terms of devices with IoT connections, according to a report
by Verizon Communications. More and more consumers are using devices that can connect to the
Internet, and are therefore being exposed to the content put out by businesses. Because the industry
already has most of the resources necessary to implement IoT, businesses can gain valuable
information on their customers. Businesses can use this data and analyze it in order to deliver their
advertisements in a way that is more tailored to the consumer. Using a customer s location, behaviors,
preferences, and demographics helps businesses personalize this content so that the advertisement will
be more likely to gain the viewer s interest. With all the digital and mobile devices being used, the IoT
has plenty of room to grow in this industry. (EMarketer)
In addition to media and entertainment, the Internet of Things is also helping to improve the
transportation and logistics industry. It is crucial for businesses to have current, updated data on hand
for them to succeed in these areas and be productive as a company. The IoT can improve this by

The Relationship Of Jesus And Christian Mentoring In The...
Mentor is characterized as a wise and trusted advocate or instructor. Although tutoring/mentoring is
not in the Bible, it gives us various cases of coaching. Moses was a great example of a mentoring
relationship. The mentoring relationship among Eli and Samuel allowed Samuel to take on tasks and
obligations that were his after Eli s demise. Jesus mentor His disciples, while Barnabas and Paul
exceeded expectations in mentoring. Jesus made His style of mentoring clear. He led so we may
follow. He stated if anybody will come after him, let them take up his cross and follow him. Since He
is our leader and we are to follow Him, Christian mentoring is a procedure subordinate upon
accommodation to Christ. Neither the mentor or mentee controls the relationship. The way toward
mentoring is portrayed by sharing, trust, and enrichment as the life and work of the two members is
changed. The mentor fills in as a model and a confided in audience. The guide depends on the Holy
Spirit to give understanding, change lives, and educate through demonstration.
Jesus and the apostles, as well as elders in the church do their work by mentoring. Peter states to be
the example of the flock, and Paul discloses to the elders at Ephesus. Paul demonstrates to the elders,
so that they may show others. If a Christian leader is not mentoring to that degree, he or she is not
satisfying their calling. God has filled the group of Christ with potential mentors other than the
individuals who are elders.

My Roots Of Optimism
Where are my roots of optimism. The word optimism goes all the way back to the 1700s. A man
named Gottfried Leibniz, believes in the Christian God. He thought God does things for the best and
we should just accept what happens in life and act accordingly. Through his strong belief came the
creation of Philosophical Optimism. Philosophical Optimism is looking at all things positive, no
matter how bad things may be. With this belief, Leibniz, through his discoveries in science and
mathematics, was able to create Calculus. This concludes how Optimism first started with a man with
strong religious beliefs and powerful knowledge. We all have our own ways of how Optimism came

It gives me joy. Playing the violin is what gives me optimism. On a societal level, one point I would
like to bring up is how politics in today s society affects the ways of my optimism today. I am very
intrigued with the past 2016 presidential election. It came to my attention that there were many rumors
about how Clinton should ve won the election or how Trump won fair and square. There is a clear
differences in America, but this is what makes us unified as a nation. We all have our own opinions
and express what we believe in, just like Gottfried Leibniz. Former President Obama once stated We
are fortunate to be living in the most peaceful, most prosperous, most progressive era in human history
. He brings up a very good point. We should not be dictated by the controversial issues and worry
about the public affairs that happen in this world. I want to be able to have optimism from this and
learn, conquer, and accept life as it is. I want to be able to enjoy life to the fullest. Optimism was just a
natural trait I picked up in my life, especially with the amount of influence my family had on me.
They taught me that no one is perfect in this world and you will make mistakes in life. Trust me they
were right on that note. Regardless, I have always known to be true to myself and tried to make my
difficulties into opportunities. Even if I felt like giving up, I knew that I will have a great reward in the

Essay On Social Media And Self Esteem
Whether you are thin or curvy, tall or short, young or old, everyone has been unhappy with how they
look at one point in their lives. This is especially seen in teens and young adults, who are transitioning
into a new phase of life. While we have much better therapy and the topic of self confidence and self
worth is talked about more openly than it ever has been before, we still struggle with ourselves. Why?
One reason could be our phones. The entire world is at our beck and call. Every Instagram post or
YouTube video we see, we compare ourselves whether we try to or not. While social media itself does
not cause low self esteem, it has every characteristic necessary in order to do so. In an article by the
Dove Self Esteem Project and Parent Zone corporation, the words of Claire Mysko are quoted: Social
media creates an environment where disordered thoughts and behaviors really thrive [...] and [social
media, while giving young girls the validation they want] also serves as a catalyst for more insecurity.
The topic of self love is not talked about as much as it should. While it is a more open topic than it has
ever been before, social media really is not helping improve the way we view ourselves, because there
is always a more muscular, thin, tan, beautiful person on the internet. As social media and technology
become a larger and larger part of everyday life, so does the way we think about ourselves. An article
written by Caroline Knorr, a writer for CNN, states that 35

Denver Pacific Railroad Research Paper
In the 1800 s, Colorado was pretty much a gold mine for settlers traveling west. The city of Denver
was bypassed by the Union Pacific Railroad (UP) through Cheyenne, Wyoming from Omaha,
Nebraska, 100 miles to the north. David Halliday Moffat, one of Denver s most important financiers
and industrialists, had a vision. Having built several rail lines for a few railroads such as the Denver
Pacific Railway (DP) and the Denver, South Park, and Pacific Railway (DSP P), he wanted to connect
Denver and Salt Lake City, Utah by rail. However, David had a problem: the Rocky Mountains were
in the way. By 1887, Moffat was elected president of the Denver Rio Grande (D RG), which built a
route west from Pueblo to Grand Junction in western Colorado via Tennessee Pass. Beginning in
1902, David Moffat and his associates established the Denver, Northwestern Pacific Railway (DNW

Rhetorical Analysis Of West Point Speech
General Douglas MacArthur delivered this speech on May 12, 1962, while accepting the Sylvanus
Thayer Award at his beloved alma mater West Point military academy. During this speech, General
MacArthur reflects on his life and accomplishments as an old man, and he tells the young cadets what
West Point s motto, Duty, Honor, Country, has meant to him in his life. Throughout this speech, Gen.
MacArthur uses various repetitions, emotional appeals, symbols, and moving imagery to show the
audience the true power of West Point and this motto. General Douglas MacArthur s performed his
duties in service to this country for over 60 years, from 1903 when graduated with the highest honors

incredible and impactful combat experience, MacArthur saw terrible tragedies and incredible
victories. It is from these intense life experiences that MacArthur draws on when writing this speech.
General Arthur MacArthur was truly a man who devoted his life to this belief in country he loved and
the institution that helped him become the great man he was. For this acceptance speech, MacArthur
chooses to focus on the motto of West Point, duty, honor, country , as the center of his speech. This is
an extremely well chosen topic because the majority of his audience are the West Point Cadets who
will be instilled with these three words during their time at the academy. MacArthur s goal is to inspire
these cadets, and to show them the power that adhering to this model and the ideals of the academy
can have on ones life. To do this most effectively MacArthur begins with an idea that will work to add
to the credibility of his entire argument. This idea is that the speaker possess neither that eloquence of

One Punch Man
Being a comic book and manga reader, I always fell in love with the plot, read the words and skim
through the drawings without stopping to think about the symbolism of the drawings on the pages.
While reading McCloud s Understanding Comics and observing Molly Bang s theories on shapes and
lines, my mind has opened a broader understanding of what is right in front of me, when I m reading a
manga or a comic book. To begin with, in chapter four, McCloud talks about how some artists use
lines, multiple images or streaking to show motion. In the manga One Punch Man the artist Yusuke
Murata shows Saitama s movement for the serious hop attack with streaking and multiple images, to
show the different ways Saitama is approaching his opponent. Also, you can imply Molly Bang s
theory on diagonal shapes that show tension or motion in which Yusuke uses both (Look at picture

Round Characters
The characters are a pivotal part of a narrative because they provide a personification of the beliefs
being described (More, 2009, p.349). There are two different types of characters within a narrative:
round and flat. Literary devices states, that round characters are major characters in a story, who
encounter contradictory situations, and undergo transformation during this phase. Therefore, these
characters do not remain the same throughout the narrative. In contrast, a flat character is a type of
character in fiction that does not change too much from the start of the narrative to its end (Literary
Devices, 2018). With these definitions in mind we can analyze the five characters within this film. The
three main round characters are ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
They are a pivotal role because they show how their actions affect the victim. The first instance we see
of the traffickers is the women with the victim in the cab. She has barks direct orders to the driver to
go to an address while the victim is trying to have a friendly conversation. The victim responds to the
cab drivers question of where she is originally from, but as soon as she responds the women says
demands him to drive and not talk. Quickly, the audience realizes who has the power in the film.
Moreover, the first scene that we see the trafficker couple together is in the car stalking the victim. He
states, go get her... she will make us some money (A21, 2018). This statement shows the true
intentions of traffickers, it does not matter who the person is, but can she make us money. When they
take the victim to dinner them man grabs a pile of cash from his pocket and the victim s eyes widen.
He hands her the hundred dollar bill and the contract was made without the victim s knowledge. After
this scene, the man is continually giving items to the victim like necklaces and make up to increase her
appearance. There is no harm insinuated from eh traffickers until an aggressive argument takes place
in the hotel room, and the victim sits there and just takes the abuse. Lastly, the cab driver could be
argued as the most important person in the film. He represents society by being in contact with a

My Passion In Medicine And Bachelor Of Medicine
ursued my Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery from Rajah Muthiah Medical College
affiliated to Annamalai University, rated as the top grade of A from the National Assessment and
Accreditation Council (NAAC) My passion for medicine sprouted from here where I witnessed all the
fathomless tragedy of diseases, countless hours of emergencies and life saving efforts, elation at
recovery and desolation at the loss of life. During the second year of medical school the changeover
from a classroom atmosphere to the clinical wards and outpatient clinics changed my impression
towards my profession. I began to understand the need to practice in medicine not just theories from
books will do. As I was posted through various specialties, I found that each has its exemplary ways of
dealing with disease. I found my rotations in General medicine to be especially challenging and
enriching. Every case I came across from simple pyrexia, COPD exacerbations, renal failure to
cerebrovascular accidents were paying me learning experiences. The physiology which I came across

Charles Darwin s Research In The Galapagos Islands
The first force of evolution is mutations. Mutations are the only way that DNA can create entirely
unique structures. Without mutations, evolution would be impossible. The second force is natural
selection. The idea of natural selection came from Charles Darwin and his research in the Galapagos
Islands. There, he discovered that animals were adapting to the environment around them and
highlighted some key differences in their phenotypes based on their home environment. The third
force is genetic drift. Genetic drift is where specific alleles appear and others fade away purely by
chance. Over time, these changes have large effects over populations. The fourth force is gene flow.
Gene flow is the study of how certain genes are spread out among

African American Culture Essay example
African American Culture
Culture is not a fixed phenomenon, nor is it the same in all places or to all people. It is relative to time,
place, and particular people. Learning about other people can help us to understand ourselves and to
be better world citizens. One of the most common ways of studying culture is to focus on the
differences within and among cultures. Although their specifics may vary form one culture to another,
sociologists refer to those elements or characteristics that can be found in every know society as
cultural universals. For example, in all societies, funeral rites include expression of grief, disposing of
the dead, and rituals that define the relations of the dead with the living. And on the most ... Show

Many of our life lessons were often given by our elders in the form of stories, jokes, and the spirituals
which serve often song in the fields, as well as, on Sunday mornings. Yet, as a people, we thought it
necessary to hold on these priceless teachings because it has served as the only link to our African
ancestry. African American culture is both part of and distinct from American culture. African
Americans have contributed literature, agricultural skills, foods, clothing, dance, and language to
American culture. There are distinctive patterns of language use among African Americans that arose
as creative responses to the hardships imposed on the African American community. Slave owners
forced African Americans to create a language that allowed them to communicate effectively with one
another. Slaves were not allowed the opportunity to read and write because most slave owners thought
they would find a way to buy their freedom if they knew how to read and write. Significant numbers
of people still speak some of the Creole languages they used to communicate so many years ago.
Agriculture and food is also a unique aspect of African American culture. The cultivation and use of
many agricultural products, such as yams, peanuts, rice, okra, grits, and cotton, can be traced to
African and African American influences. African American foods reflect creative

Concerns for the Safety of Human and Animal Food During...
Introduction
The issues concerning the safety of human and animal food during transportation to and within the
United States are concerns, which are raising the attention of both the American public and the United
States Food and Drug Administration. A few of the main worries include, the improper handling of
food products, the lack of proper control of the temperature in which the foods are kept, the concerns
of cross contamination, the lack of proper equipment for the loading of food products before they are
transported to other area on the country and the lack of security.
In order for these problems to the fixed and restore a proper and healthy means of transporting human
and animal foods, there issues needs to be dealt with, ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Additionally, majority of all food transportation services tend to outsource or go over their initial
budget intended for transportation.
Many of these findings are important when it comes to the safe transportation of foods. The shortage
of drivers may be as a result of the lack of proper education in the procedures needed to be taken to
ensure the food safety during transportation. Also, hauling of food commodities in empty trucks on
return trips increases the chances of cross contamination if there has been a previous exposure of
hazardous foods during the loading process. Furthermore, establishing good communication strategies
between shippers, drivers, and receivers is an important element in the safe transportation of food in
the distribution chain.
The limited data on failures of food safety are a direction result of the inadequate storage and
transportation practices whereas some industries disagree by saying that such circumstances are
generally not reported. Studies conducted by experts state that the underlining practice of the food
transportation sector, which involves the road, rail and sea transportation by means of trucks, trains
and ships respectively should investigate and specify where foods are at a high risk of cross
contamination.
The main purpose of this study was to pinpoint the problems such as chemical and microbiological
hazards in the transportation of food and to figure out ways through which these problems

Evaluating Health Informatic Systems
It is important to evaluate any health informatics system since it operates in the complexity of a real
world system with a multitude of interactions between system and human. Human and organizational
concerns are crucial in the development and implementation of a new innovation in a health care
setup. (Kaplan, 2001). Overall satisfaction both individual and organizational in a specific setting
proves that a new innovation that has been introduced is helpful and effective in an organization. (Ash
et al, 2000). However, some argue that there are no exact or superior ways to evaluate a system.
Global evaluation depending on specific setting or site of implementation is paramount in multi
dimension approach to analyse this complex interaction between system, man and organization.
Evaluation of information system in general can be divided into pre development stage of a system
known as formative or post development of an established system also known as summative. This is
considered a practical distinction before we start an information system evaluation process. Besides
the complexity and immaturity; whether it is a pre or post development stage evaluation, we should
also study the time line of the evaluation process and the desired output that is to be measured since
evaluation can be time consuming and resource demanding. Thus, these must be accounted prior to the
evaluation process.
Secondly, choosing a methodology that measures the respective outcomes based on attitude,

Human Development And Identity Development
In the following essay I will be discussing two particular aspects of human development and behavior;
personality and identity. I will then demonstrate an understanding of two psychological theories which
can help understand influences on personality and identity development. Finally, I will look into
further detail at Holmes and Rahe and identity two life events which I can relate to the case study and
the impact it s had on the individual. There has been an ongoing debate within society for a long time
over the influences of nature vs nurture and which one has the more influential factor on behavior and
development. It is a clear fact that Human development and behavior is a complex interrelationship
between nature and nurture. Nature relates to the genes in which we inherit from our parents, it mainly
focuses on genetics and hereditary characteristics, such as eye colour, hair colour, or inheriting
illnesses. Nature can also be referred to as the genotype. Nurture relates to social circumstances, such
as our upbringing and lifestyle. It looks at the interaction between our genotype and environment.
Another term for nurture is known as the phenotype. An example of nature vs nurture can be a person
who has developed a hereditary diabetes from their parents. Although this has been passed on through
the influence of nature we can still use our nurture side to influence change, such as changing diet and
lifestyle habits to counteract the diabetes. Looking further into

Uncle Tom s Cabin Thesis
Research Paper Rough Draft
Hot off the press, Uncle Tom s Cabin was simultaneously celebrated as an important accomplishment
and slammed as untruthful fiction. This array of responses, combined with a plethora of repercussions,
demonstrates how incredibly influential Uncle Tom s Cabin truly was. The book fueled anti slavery
forces in the North while simultaneously igniting a fire of fury in the South; abolitionists, pro slavery
advocates, and African Americans all emphatically voiced their opinions about the book and its anti
slavery message. Additionally, Uncle Tom s Cabin has often been associated with the beginning of the
Civil War; it brought to light the fact that the North and South could not continue peaceably living in
persistent disagreement on vitally important topics such as slavery. Through incredible storytelling
abilities, Harriet Beecher Stowe conveyed to her readers the cruelties of enslavement, the injustices of
numerous pro slave laws, and the desperate need for the abolition of thraldom in our country. Within a

Essay on Andrew Jackson
Andrew Jackson, the seventh president of the United States, was born on March 15, 1767 in Waxhaw
on the North Carolina South Carolina border. He is a controversial man who greatly impacted our
country both during his presidency and long term. His actions may have been questioned at the time,
as some still are today, but his strong willed chauvinism in democracy is just what our country needed
to hold itself together. Jackson did not have a typical family setting growing up. His father passed
away before his birth, leaving his mother the single parent of three young boys. To help lighten the
burden of raising young children on her own, his mother moved in with her Crawford relatives. There

Jackson resigned to accept a job closer to home, judge of Tennessee s superior court. Along his

Despite the wound, Jackson showed no sign of pain and instead aimed precisely and fatally shot
Dickinson (Stone 264). It was encounters such as this that marked him as a violent and dangerous

The Book Of Daniel Character Analysis
What makes a person a person? Some might say that we are human because we were born from our
parents having sex and creating us stemming from a unicell zygote. Others believe that a person is the
kind of entity that has the moral right to make its own life choices, to live its life without
(unprovoked) interference from others. (Illinois State University) So who is Daniel and how is he
defined as a person? Well, throughout The Book of Daniel by E.L. Doctorow, Daniel is portrayed as a
man whose rough childhood has sparked him in his adult life to victimize every single person around
him, especially his wife. It also seems that Daniel is not capable of enjoying any activity that a healthy
person would be able to, and also points towards him living a destructive and violent nature lifestyle.
According to Robert Forrey in his article Doctorow s The Book of Daniel : All in the Family. , The
Book of Daniel is about the fucking within and of the Jewish family, fucking in the literal, sexual, and
the figurative senses. (Forrey 168) Throughout the book, the narrator and Daniel display multiple
forms of sexual thoughts and actions which predominantly deal with his wife Phyllis. Daniel goes on
abusing Phyllis both mentally and physically. One of the first instances, when we picture Daniel as a
sexually violent person is when soft Phyllis from Brooklyn suffering yet another penetration and her
tormentor Daniel gently squeezing handfuls of soft ass while he probes her virtue.

A mean value of turbidity over each day the sonde was deployed was used as the estimate of base flow
turbidity.
Siphon samplers, constructed similarly to Graczyk et al. (2000), were used to collect water samples
during storm flows. They were positioned next to the stream at 10 and 30 cm above base flow.
Additionally, base flow unfiltered grab samples were collected from the thalweg of each stream during
each sample period and stored on ice until returning to the laboratory. Subsets of both the storm and
base flow grab water samples were stored at 20ºC until analysis for total nitrogen (TN) and total
phosphorus (TP). Total nitrogen was analyzed using a Shimadzu TOC V CSH equipped with the TNM
1 analyzer (Shimadzu Scientific Instruments, Columbia, MD). For TP analysis, water samples were
digested using persulfate and then analyzed for SRP using the standard colorimetric
molybdate/ascorbic acid method (APHA 2005). Geometric means were calculated for TN and TP
annually from two base flow and two storm flow samples, due to the expectation that both base flow
and storm flow conditions drive patterns of algal biomass and GPP. The geometric mean reduces the
influence of extreme values and allows for a better estimation of annual nutrient concentrations than
the arithmetic mean.

Maus Parent Child Relationship Essay
How do graphic novels allow for explorations of parent child relationships and/or the idea of family?
This essay will look at the question of how graphic novels allow for the exploration of parent child
relationships and the idea of intergenerational family relations using primarily the works Maus by Art
Spiegelman and Persepolis by Marjani Satrapi. The primary relations are key to exploring this concept
of family. In Maus the key relationship is between the characters Artie and Vladek, son and father
respectively and Marji and her unnamed parents and grandmother. The dynamics of the family
relationships are explored in relation to the missing ; in Maus this is formed by the loss of Artie s
mother to suicide in the aftermath of the Holocaust and the removing of Marji from the family unit,
primarily for education but also to protect her from the impact of the Iranian revolution on her
freedom. There is also evidence that in using the graphic ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Mala also seems to display some hoarding tendencies in this scene. Having survived the Holocaust
herself could this be a habit she s picked up from a time when food was scarce. Art, growing up in
America in the fifties and sixties, without the desperation and poverty of war torn Poland, finds Mala s
hoarding of the coffee frustrating, telling her she makes the worst coffee of anyone he s ever known.
These behaviours, born of a time when both Vladek and Mala were scared for their lives have
followed them into their new lives. Perhaps Art is unable to understand why they still behave in such a
way when they are safe. His frustration at his father throwing out his coat is illustrated later in Maus II

Desert Biomes

Deserts are mostly found in the east but a few are also found in the western region of the Americas.
They are very hot places with low moisture and barren waste lands. When you think desert what
normally jumps into your head is sand cactus and clear skies with the sun beating down on you. The
maximum temperature for a desert can climb up to 120 degrees Fahrenheit. The temperature in winter
only drops a few degrees and it receives a small amount of humidity. The average amount of rainfall
year round is less than 15 cm. Vegetation is very rare, it s mostly restricted to ground hugging shrubs
and woody trees. All the leaves are replete. Typical animals include small nocturnal carnivores. There

They will eat insects and reptiles. Most coyotes live alone or in pairs, but may live in larger groups.
Mainly their only predator is mountain lions, but more recently it is developing into humans as well.
There are many ways human activities can impact the desert biome, at least where there is an existing
ecosystem. Development by mining or residential use is one way, as would be diverting the limited
water supplies for agricultural use elsewhere. Humans can damage the desert ecosystem if they use the
areas for recreation in an unwise fashion.
Off road riding (4x4 and dirt bikes) can damage desert plants and pollute the soil, as well as disrupting
the activities of wildlife. Diverting water supplies, which are already likely scarce, can prevent
infrequent rainfall from reaching the native plants. Killing rodents or predators that invade farms
impacts the food chain that exists in the desert. Although it may not appear so, most deserts support
fragile ecosystems that are easily damaged by roads, mineral refuse, or oil contamination that can
come from industries or mines.

Character Analysis Of Wallace Playlot By Billy Lombardo
In the short story, Wallace Playlot written by Billy Lombardo, a boy s realizations about human
interaction in his life is shown. Lombardo uses characterization and point of view to establish that a
person will never truly know another person s character until they associate themselves with that
person s personal feelings and thoughts. In every aspect of this story, there are always characters
perceiving each other in certain ways. Petey is the narrator, and because of that, everything told to the
reader about each character is filtered through his brain. Each boy s parents don t know as much as
they able to about their sons. And every person watching the game of Kenney catching 100 balls ,
form their first impressions about each boy playing. When the boy s parents had finally come to watch
their sons do what they had been passionate about for the whole summer of 1972, Petey feels this
immense amount of joy because of how he thinks the parents might know him a bit more. Petey feels
as if his parents ignore him and do not pay attention to his daily personal desires because they
themselves are too busy focusing on their jobs and their personal desires. And in 1972, in a place
called Bridgeport, in a city called Chicago, this is how they loved us. (Pg.60). This shows that Petey
obviously thinks that his parents do not know them as well as they are able to. Petey uses the word,

Cultural Similarities Between Benin And The Usa
Using the Hofstede model of comparison, I will be comparing the culture of my home country, that is,
the Republic of Benin and the United States of America. First, I will do a little background of Benin
and the USA. Benin is located in West Africa and is in between Togo and Nigeria. Its official language
is French mainly because it was colonized by France during the colonial period. Its population is 10
million and it is considered a developing country. On the other hand, the USA is located in North
America. Some of its neighbors are Canada, Mexico and the Bahamas. Its population is 321 million
and English is its official language. The USA economy is the world s largest national economy. The
location, population, national language and ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Benin maintains a strong link to its past and traditions. It is suspicious of changes that disrupt the
historical heritage and culture of the society. As for the USA, the mentality is different. There is
limited regard tradition as the society constantly seeks to innovate and improve the way of life. These
differences in long term orientation is in part based on the tolerance level of uncertainty in each
society. Since Benin has a low level of tolerance, it makes it difficult for it to let go of its traditions
and embrace new ones, which are filled with uncertainty and doubt. Finally, in terms of indulgence,
Beninese like to take long breaks and relax as much as they can. For example, elementary, middle, and
high school students go to school from 8am to 12 noon, take a break and come back at 3pm and stay
until 5pm or 7pm depending on the classification. These three hours break, that is, 12 noon to 3pm is
observed in most offices and businesses. However, in the USA, emphasis is placed on hard work.
People use their time wisely because each hour equals to a certain dollar amount. It is frequent to hear
people say things like, I just wasted two hours of time. I could have made $18 if I was working. In
summary, the Benin culture and the USA culture is different in various ways. This is what makes each
culture unique and memorable. I think there are things that both cultures could learn from each other.
For example, the Benin culture could learn to embrace technology and let go of some of its traditions,
especially those that are outdated. The USA culture could become less individualistic and more group
oriented. It will foster more interpersonal relationships and community

Jainism Is An Environmentally Responsible Way Of Life
Mahavira said, All of life is just like me. I want to live. So do all souls, all living beings. The instinct
of self preservation is universal. Every animate being clings to life and fears death. Each of us wants
to be free from pain. So let me carry out all of my activities with great care not to be harmful to any
living being (as cited in Rosenfield Segall). Jainism is an ecologically responsible way of life, which
is non violent in thoughts, actions, and deeds (Pecorino, 2001). The heart of Jainism is to live and
practice ahimsa. This is the action by which all actions are judged (ahimsa| Britannica.com, 2015).
The Golden Rule, if you will. The Jain s believe that life is eternal. That all living souls have the
potential of attaining enlightenment and immortality (Raghuram, 2004). If you interrupt the spiritual
progress or jiva of an insect, animal, plant or person, you will incur karma (ahimsa | Britannica.com,
2015). Your karma will affect your samsara, and will determine your next incarnation. The purpose in
one s life is to attain liberation from the samsara cycle. Why are we drawn to the many different facets
of violence that we experience in our lives? Is violence a learned behavior or has it become a part of
our evolutionary progression. As hunters and gatherers, we used violence for survival. Now, it seems
that humans react with violence to resolve multiple types of conflict. Is it just primal instinct? Does
our subconscious fight or flight control the way

  • 2. The Reflection Of The Observation Of Vertical Jumping Vertical Jumping Volleyball, basketball, high jump, hurdling, long jump, and pole vaulting all have a certain motor skill in common and that motor skill is jumping. Jumping is a gross motor skill which coordinates movements which requires the use of the large muscles in the arms, legs, torso, and feet. Furthermore, jumping requires strength, balance, coordination, body awareness, and motor planning. Our lower extremity contains multiple muscles in order for a person to jump. Many of the muscles in the lower extremity cross more than one joint. The basic muscles that are used during jumping are the rectus femoris, gastrocnemius, semimembranosus, semitendinosus, and the long head of biceps femoris. The semimembranosus, semitendinosus, and the long head of the biceps femoris are muscles that make up the hamstrings. Our task was to observe and report a certain motor skill and behavior in different stages of learning. Our group observed Toddlers/Preschool, Grade School, Jr. High, High School, and College students jumping in a non structure play (like recess), structure (like PE class or sport practice), and a competitive environment. Toddler/Preschool Toddlers and Preschoolers love to jump and they ll attempt to do it whenever and wherever as much as possible. They seem to have a fascination with jumping off the ground and momentarily floating in the air. Jumping is a required movement in most children s games, sports, and activities. Children have different techniques in order ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 4. Causes anf Results of Communism in Eastern and Central Europe Communism was one of the political theories founded by Friedrich Engels and Karl Marx in the end of the 19th century . Both of these philosophers had the same point of view concerning the economic and political principles. Also, Communism brought up many changes to International Relations , and the body of the essay will describe the causes and results of Communism in Eastern and central Europe. In 1844 Engel and Marx started to discover interesting facts about Communism and no longer in 1848 they decided to write and publish Communism Manifesco , which was thought to be one of the best and influential political books ever. A lot of countries were influenced by the Communism. Among them are: Eastern German and Poland, The Communism in Poland lasted for forty years that brought a new and specific changes in the government at the end of the Second World War. Poland had a really complicated situation because of Iosef Stalin and his Communist Party. He described his points of view in a very clear way, Imposing Communism on Poland was as absurd as putting a saddle on a cow . Moreover ,everything was under control of the Polish Government of Stalin, including a lot of spheres as culture, social aspects of life and economy. As government had all the power in their hands, people were absolutely deprived of power. That kind of period was strongly disliked by people and brought a lot of strikes, protections and even attacks. As the result, the Communism system had a bad influence on the development of Poland. Eastern German was also under the Communism regime. The historic German capital of Berlin, although in the East was a special case. Berlin itself was split into 4 sectors after the war. West Berlin was part of West Germany despite being completely surrounded by East Germany. The Eastern part of German was absolutely poor in all its aspects. • 5. Abuse and Heredity Abuse and Heredity Research question: Is child abuse hereditary? There are many types of abuse such as alcohol abuse, drug abuse, domestic abuse just to name a few but of all the types of abuse there is one type of abuse that is probably one of the easiest to pass down and that is child abuse. Child abuse is easy to pass down because we look to what we know when were not certain what to do. The term for passing down child abuse is known as intergenerational abuse. There are four methods of child abuse and they are physical, sexual, neglect, and emotional abuse (Baltes, Smelser, Pg 1672). In the study of a sixteen year old mother who had been abused her whole life, it was found that the mother resorted to spanking her five month old ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Capaldi and Pears studies show that abuse is found in low socioeconomical environments and also with relatively young parents (2001, pg 1442). Bensley says one process of intergenerational abuse is the normative beliefs regarding appropriate parenting behaviors, which she describes as believing that certain abusive behavior are normal ( Bensley, Ruggles, Simmons, Harris, Williams, Putvin, Allen, 2003, pg 1323). Which supports the idea that an abusive parent justifies abuse as a legitimate punishment ( Bensley, Ruggles, Simmons, Harris, Williams, Putvin, Allen, 2003, pg 1331). Graur identifies 3 different cause of child abuse and neglect, the first cause is called the economic theory which says economic depression or socioemotional difficulties cause rejection behaviors on the part of the parent (1996, p.55 56). The second cause is called the ecological theory which says any disorder affecting society will also affect the family (1996, p. 56). The third and final cause of neglect found by Graur is called the personality theory which states that traits such as low self esteem, sadness, and previous experiences affect the way a parent acts towards a child (1996, p.56). In the article titled Child abuse there are 4 main cause of child abuse identified, the first has to do with life history and personality meaning their own experiences as a ... • 6. History Of The Constellation he explains most of his article on Lockheed s creation, the Constellation. If you have any interest of aviation this article would be a great read. The Constellation was the first pressurized airliner, also the first tricycle gear airliner. The Constellation was a war fighter. The Constellation was mostly used during World War II. Lockheed wanted to make something big, and they did. The Constellation was used to carry lots of cargo, from troops to supplies. It was a part of aviation history, and the Constellation was built by the famous Lockheed Martin corporation. This article will give information that some might not even heard of. The author starts from the beginning, how the Constellation began on its journey. There was a lot of models ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Through Pan American World Airways (Pan Am) and TWA partnering, the Constellation was finally in the airliner business. When the Constellation airlines started they only allowed service between New York and Paris. But no longer than a month, they started running service between New York and Los Angeles. Back then even airplane cost a lot. The amount that a Constellation cost was between $685,000 to $720,000. Now a days that s 7 8 million dollars, and that s just the cost of one Constellation. TWA and Pan Am got a deal from the Government when they bought the airplanes. Well there is no clear evidence it can easily be seen why they were so cheap. The Constellations weren t in great shape. They were a part of World War II, and most of them probably had bullet holes in them, and were in bad shape. Like I said earlier the Constellation had its ups and downs. It seemed to have served great during the war and was fit for the right job. After the war while the Constellation was in airline service two people have died while taking flight. One passenger s window popped off and he was sucked right out, another was sitting next to a cabin window and that popped off as well and he was too sucked out of the Constellation. But even after these incidents People still had the nerve to fly in the Constellation. If it was up to me I would have said no instantly. Hearing about this now has made me skeptical to fly ... • 7. Cloning Inhumane Analysis Just last year, James s dog, Starshine passed away; today, james plays fetch with Starshine everyday after he comes home from school but Starshine isn t who she is last year before her tragic death. In truth, the Starshine James plays with nowadays is the original Starshine s clone. People all around the world have been cloning their pets before their pets die. However, different people have completely different opinions on this method. Some believe that instead of cloning their pets, people should just save an animal at an animal shelter rather than spending thousands of dollars on a clone. Others say it s a positive way of keeping their pet around. In my opinion, the act of cloning animals is completely inhumane because the clone still won t be exactly the same as the original, especially ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... This was the case for a couple living in Texas: they cloned their beloved pet Chance, a Brahman bull, but the results were quite a surprise. Chance was a kind, and timid bull, unlike others of his kind, and loved to take pictures with children; when he died, it greatly devastated the couple. Eventually, they payed to clone Chance. In contrary, the cloned Chance didn t have the gentle manner the previous Chance had; the clone was restless, and very violent. Furthermore, the husband had to be hospitalized several times after quite a few violent encounters with the pet. Cloning has this aspect and effect on animals, which is one reason why people are strongly against human cloning. In addition, although there aren t any studies uet that specifically study the behavior of cloned animals and pets, research on cloned cows and pigs prove that there are behavioral differences and even some difference in the phenotype. Therefore, cloning truly doesn t bring back one s pet, for that they are different ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 8. The Indian Population are Living in Severy Poverty Bajpai, Sachs and Volavka (2005) studied the confronts to meet the MDGs in India. The authors revealed that India would attain some of eight goals like reducing extreme poverty and would miss many of others like reducing hunger, reducing infant mortality rate, achieving environmental sustainability. Indian population living in severe poverty has been diminishing sharply since economic reforms started in 1991. The headcount poverty rate in 2015 would be less than half of the rate in 1990, as called for by the Millennium Development Goals. The proportion of children in India who are continually malnourished remains very high. India is far behind in the goal to realize universal primary school enrolment. In 1999 2000, the net primary enrollment rate was only 52.5 percent. It is a long way off from the goal of 100 percent enrollment by 2015. Primary completion rates increased slightly between 1993 and 2000, from 58.7 percent to 61.4 percent. But dropout rates are clearly still very high. Gender disparity in schooling differs across India. It is highest in Bihar, Uttar Pradesh, and Rajasthan, where gross primary enrollment rates are about two thirds for females than for males. Development on the targets to reduce child and infant mortality has been made in India. The country is not likely to meet the goal of reducing these rates by two thirds between 1990 and 2015 if decreases remain at their present rate. India is suffering from deteriorating crises of water, soils, and ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 9. Analyzing Truman Capote s In Cold Blood Knowledge Title Truman Capote chose the title In Cold Blood possibly because Dick and Perry murdered four innocent members of a family. The term of cold blood is defined as without feeling or with cruel intent and that is evident in the novel. Dick and Perry killed these member of family with pretty much no reason in doing so and the deaths were brutal. This is an obvious reason for the title name but maybe there is a hidden meaning in the title. The little town of Holcomb was a very peaceful place where everyone had their doors unlocked and they all trusted one another. Dick and Perry took the towns feeling of security and comfort once they committed this act. Genre Setting The setting of this novel takes place in Holcomb, Kansas, ... Police discover and gold wristwatch in Nancy Clutter s shoes so that makes investigators believe it was a possible robbery. 6. • 10. Graceling Character Analysis I was really excited when people told me there was romance, action, and adventure because they re my favorite genres. But, I was disappointed when I read the first page. It s 3rd person limited. I thought it would be a little harder to connect with the characters. However, as I kept rereading some lines and questioning the characters, it became easier for me to understand them. For example, Katsa, the main character of Graceling, written by Kristin Cashmore, musters up her courage to defy Randa because she could no longer tolerate him even though she was afraid to imagine what would happen next. Randa wanted others to fear him and to do that, he had Katsa torture people who didn t listen to his orders. According to Susan Fisk, empathy for another s happiness and suffering depends fundamentally on recognizing that the other has a mind that is, the same capacities for thought, emotion, desire, intention, and self awareness as ourselves. I empathize with Bitterblue as she is strong facing hardships throughout the book. Bitterblue s father is a villain who enjoys torturing others, but her courage still remains. Leck s grace allows him to manipulate people with his voice and the people who hears it, spreads it. He has the option to ask, but he prefers to do it with his grace instead as he finds it more amusing and hides his grace with an eyepatch. That way, others would not suspect that he is a Graceling. My father isn t like that. But, I am able to understand that others would find Bitterblue s emotions aren t ordinary. What would Leck have her do when he controls her? Would he make her kill her loved ones? What if he did that to you and if he was your father? Having someone take control of your mind is absolutely terrifying. Of course she would be scared too. But would fear take over her mind? No. As Leck controls Bitterblue, Asher, and his whole kingdom, I wonder what his purpose is, He s the king of Monsea yet he needs to control them all mentally too. Perhaps he wants to take over the world. Although he controlled Bitterblue and her mom multiple times, they found out a remedy to snap out of it which was by reminding each other. Whenever she saw her mom s scars, she would be able to remember who Leck truly is. ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

In modern society, it is necessary to be able to send and receive data quickly in order to keep up with the rest of the world. With so much technology at our fingertips, it is almost unheard of for someone to be without a device that can connect the Internet. The technology that allows these devices to communicate with one another is known as the Internet of Things. Because of this concept, people are now able to exchange information faster than ever before. The idea of machines being able to communicate with each other has been around since the early 1800s. In 2014, the industry was the third fastest growing in terms of devices with IoT connections, according to a report by Verizon Communications. More and more consumers are using devices that can connect to the Internet, and are therefore being exposed to the content put out by businesses. Because the industry already has most of the resources necessary to implement IoT, businesses can gain valuable information on their customers. Businesses can use this data and analyze it in order to deliver their advertisements in a way that is more tailored to the consumer. Using a customer s location, behaviors, preferences, and demographics helps businesses personalize this content so that the advertisement will be more likely to gain the viewer s interest. Although tutoring/mentoring is not in the Bible, it gives us various cases of coaching. Moses was a great example of a mentoring relationship. The mentoring relationship among Eli and Samuel allowed Samuel to take on tasks and obligations that were his after Eli s demise. Jesus mentor His disciples, while Barnabas and Paul exceeded expectations in mentoring. Jesus made His style of mentoring clear. He led so we may follow. He stated if anybody will come after him, let them take up his cross and follow him. Since He is our leader and we are to follow Him, Christian mentoring is a procedure subordinate upon accommodation to Christ. Neither the mentor or mentee controls the relationship. The way toward mentoring is portrayed by sharing, trust, and enrichment as the life and work of the two members is changed. The mentor fills in as a model and a confided in audience. The guide depends on the Holy Spirit to give understanding, change lives, and educate through demonstration. Jesus and the apostles, as well as elders in the church do their work by mentoring. Peter states to be the example of the flock, and Paul discloses to the elders at Ephesus. Paul demonstrates to the elders, so that they may show others. If a Christian leader is not mentoring to that degree, he or she is not satisfying their calling. God has filled the group of Christ with potential mentors other than the individuals who are elders. ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 13. My Roots Of Optimism Where are my roots of optimism. The word optimism goes all the way back to the 1700s. A man named Gottfried Leibniz, believes in the Christian God. He thought God does things for the best and we should just accept what happens in life and act accordingly. Through his strong belief came the creation of Philosophical Optimism. Philosophical Optimism is looking at all things positive, no matter how bad things may be. With this belief, Leibniz, through his discoveries in science and mathematics, was able to create Calculus. This concludes how Optimism first started with a man with strong religious beliefs and powerful knowledge. We all have our own ways of how Optimism came into our lives. It came to my attention that there were many rumors about how Clinton should ve won the election or how Trump won fair and square. There is a clear differences in America, but this is what makes us unified as a nation. We all have our own opinions and express what we believe in, just like Gottfried Leibniz. Former President Obama once stated We are fortunate to be living in the most peaceful, most prosperous, most progressive era in human history . He brings up a very good point. We should not be dictated by the controversial issues and worry about the public affairs that happen in this world. I want to be able to have optimism from this and learn, conquer, and accept life as it is. I want to be able to enjoy life to the fullest. Optimism was just a natural trait I picked up in my life, especially with the amount of influence my family had on me. They taught me that no one is perfect in this world and you will make mistakes in life. Trust me they were right on that note. • 14. Essay On Social Media And Self Esteem Whether you are thin or curvy, tall or short, young or old, everyone has been unhappy with how they look at one point in their lives. This is especially seen in teens and young adults, who are transitioning into a new phase of life. While we have much better therapy and the topic of self confidence and self worth is talked about more openly than it ever has been before, we still struggle with ourselves. Why? One reason could be our phones. The entire world is at our beck and call. Every Instagram post or YouTube video we see, we compare ourselves whether we try to or not. While social media itself does not cause low self esteem, it has every characteristic necessary in order to do so. In an article by the Dove Self Esteem Project and Parent Zone corporation, the words of Claire Mysko are quoted: Social media creates an environment where disordered thoughts and behaviors really thrive [...] and [social media, while giving young girls the validation they want] also serves as a catalyst for more insecurity. The topic of self love is not talked about as much as it should. While it is a more open topic than it has ever been before, social media really is not helping improve the way we view ourselves, because there is always a more muscular, thin, tan, beautiful person on the internet. As social media and technology become a larger and larger part of everyday life, so does the way we think about ourselves. An article written by Caroline Knorr, a writer for CNN, states that 35 ... The city of Denver was bypassed by the Union Pacific Railroad (UP) through Cheyenne, Wyoming from Omaha, Nebraska, 100 miles to the north. David Halliday Moffat, one of Denver s most important financiers and industrialists, had a vision. Having built several rail lines for a few railroads such as the Denver Pacific Railway (DP) and the Denver, South Park, and Pacific Railway (DSP P), he wanted to connect Denver and Salt Lake City, Utah by rail. However, David had a problem: the Rocky Mountains were in the way. By 1887, Moffat was elected president of the Denver Rio Grande (D RG), which built a route west from Pueblo to Grand Junction in western Colorado via Tennessee Pass. Evaluating Health Informatic Systems It is important to evaluate any health informatics system since it operates in the complexity of a real world system with a multitude of interactions between system and human. Human and organizational concerns are crucial in the development and implementation of a new innovation in a health care setup. (Kaplan, 2001). Overall satisfaction both individual and organizational in a specific setting proves that a new innovation that has been introduced is helpful and effective in an organization. (Ash et al, 2000). Evaluation of information system in general can be divided into pre development stage of a system known as formative or post development of an established system also known as summative. This is considered a practical distinction before we start an information system evaluation process. Besides the complexity and immaturity; whether it is a pre or post development stage evaluation, we should also study the time line of the evaluation process and the desired output that is to be measured since evaluation can be time consuming and resource demanding. Others believe that a person is the kind of entity that has the moral right to make its own life choices, to live its life without (unprovoked) interference from others. (Illinois State University) So who is Daniel and how is he defined as a person? Well, throughout The Book of Daniel by E.L. Doctorow, Daniel is portrayed as a man whose rough childhood has sparked him in his adult life to victimize every single person around him, especially his wife. It also seems that Daniel is not capable of enjoying any activity that a healthy person would be able to, and also points towards him living a destructive and violent nature lifestyle. • 34. Maus Parent Child Relationship Essay How do graphic novels allow for explorations of parent child relationships and/or the idea of family? This essay will look at the question of how graphic novels allow for the exploration of parent child relationships and the idea of intergenerational family relations using primarily the works Maus by Art Spiegelman and Persepolis by Marjani Satrapi. The primary relations are key to exploring this concept of family. In Maus the key relationship is between the characters Artie and Vladek, son and father respectively and Marji and her unnamed parents and grandmother. The dynamics of the family relationships are explored in relation to the missing ; in Maus this is formed by the loss of Artie s mother to suicide in the aftermath of the Holocaust and the removing of Marji from the family unit, primarily for education but also to protect her from the impact of the Iranian revolution on her freedom. There is also evidence that in using the graphic ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Mala also seems to display some hoarding tendencies in this scene. Having survived the Holocaust herself could this be a habit she s picked up from a time when food was scarce. Art, growing up in America in the fifties and sixties, without the desperation and poverty of war torn Poland, finds Mala s hoarding of the coffee frustrating, telling her she makes the worst coffee of anyone he s ever known. These behaviours, born of a time when both Vladek and Mala were scared for their lives have followed them into their new lives. Perhaps Art is unable to understand why they still behave in such a way when they are safe. His frustration at his father throwing out his coat is illustrated later in Maus II when they re on holiday in a cabin. Art is unable to find his trousers and his father replies that he has tidied them away. Art s reply is an acerbic, well thanks for not throwing them away! . His anger, guilt and frustration with his father is never far ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 35. Desert Biome Desert Biomes Denton4 Deserts are mostly found in the east but a few are also found in the western region of the Americas. They are very hot places with low moisture and barren waste lands. When you think desert what normally jumps into your head is sand cactus and clear skies with the sun beating down on you. The maximum temperature for a desert can climb up to 120 degrees Fahrenheit. The temperature in winter only drops a few degrees and it receives a small amount of humidity. The average amount of rainfall year round is less than 15 cm. Vegetation is very rare, it s mostly restricted to ground hugging shrubs and woody trees. All the leaves are replete. Typical animals include small nocturnal carnivores. There are also insects, ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... They will eat insects and reptiles. Most coyotes live alone or in pairs, but may live in larger groups. Mainly their only predator is mountain lions, but more recently it is developing into humans as well. There are many ways human activities can impact the desert biome, at least where there is an existing ecosystem. Development by mining or residential use is one way, as would be diverting the limited water supplies for agricultural use elsewhere. Humans can damage the desert ecosystem if they use the areas for recreation in an unwise fashion. Off road riding (4x4 and dirt bikes) can damage desert plants and pollute the soil, as well as disrupting the activities of wildlife. Diverting water supplies, which are already likely scarce, can prevent infrequent rainfall from reaching the native plants. Killing rodents or predators that invade farms impacts the food chain that exists in the desert. Although it may not appear so, most deserts support fragile ecosystems that are easily damaged by roads, mineral refuse, or oil contamination that can come from industries or mines. • 36. Character Analysis Of Wallace Playlot By Billy Lombardo In the short story, Wallace Playlot written by Billy Lombardo, a boy s realizations about human interaction in his life is shown. Lombardo uses characterization and point of view to establish that a person will never truly know another person s character until they associate themselves with that person s personal feelings and thoughts. In every aspect of this story, there are always characters perceiving each other in certain ways. Petey is the narrator, and because of that, everything told to the reader about each character is filtered through his brain. Each boy s parents don t know as much as they able to about their sons. And every person watching the game of Kenney catching 100 balls , form their first impressions about each boy playing. When the boy s parents had finally come to watch their sons do what they had been passionate about for the whole summer of 1972, Petey feels this immense amount of joy because of how he thinks the parents might know him a bit more. Petey feels as if his parents ignore him and do not pay attention to his daily personal desires because they themselves are too busy focusing on their jobs and their personal desires. And in 1972, in a place called Bridgeport, in a city called Chicago, this is how they loved us. (Pg.60). This shows that Petey obviously thinks that his parents do not know them as well as they are able to. Petey uses the word, Love because his parents were paying attention to what he loved to do, and ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 37. The Myers-Briggs Personality This past Friday the Myers Briggs test determined my personality to be within the INFJ category. The character description helped me to identify different aspects of my personality, and I have reviewed the major ways I communicate with others and progress through various emotions. The career page encouraged me to consider possible careers matching the conditions under which I best thrive. The review also pinpointed my God given gifts, showing my role in His will. As my result connotates, I am predominantly introverted, intuitive, feeling, and judging. I had only a slight preference of introvert over extrovert, playing likewise to the facts that INFJs have outward reaching outlooks and seek to empathize with others on an intimate level. ... • 38. Cultural Similarities Between Benin And The Usa Using the Hofstede model of comparison, I will be comparing the culture of my home country, that is, the Republic of Benin and the United States of America. First, I will do a little background of Benin and the USA. Benin is located in West Africa and is in between Togo and Nigeria. Its official language is French mainly because it was colonized by France during the colonial period. Its population is 10 million and it is considered a developing country. On the other hand, the USA is located in North America. Some of its neighbors are Canada, Mexico and the Bahamas. Its population is 321 million and English is its official language. The USA economy is the world s largest national economy. The location, population, national language and ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Benin maintains a strong link to its past and traditions. It is suspicious of changes that disrupt the historical heritage and culture of the society. As for the USA, the mentality is different. There is limited regard tradition as the society constantly seeks to innovate and improve the way of life. These differences in long term orientation is in part based on the tolerance level of uncertainty in each society. Since Benin has a low level of tolerance, it makes it difficult for it to let go of its traditions and embrace new ones, which are filled with uncertainty and doubt. Finally, in terms of indulgence, Beninese like to take long breaks and relax as much as they can. For example, elementary, middle, and high school students go to school from 8am to 12 noon, take a break and come back at 3pm and stay until 5pm or 7pm depending on the classification. These three hours break, that is, 12 noon to 3pm is observed in most offices and businesses. However, in the USA, emphasis is placed on hard work. People use their time wisely because each hour equals to a certain dollar amount. It is frequent to hear people say things like, I just wasted two hours of time. I could have made $18 if I was working. In summary, the Benin culture and the USA culture is different in various ways. This is what makes each culture unique and memorable. I think there are things that both cultures could learn from each other. For example, the Benin culture could learn to embrace technology and let go of some of its traditions, especially those that are outdated. The USA culture could become less individualistic and more group oriented. It will foster more interpersonal relationships and community ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 39. Jainism Is An Environmentally Responsible Way Of Life Mahavira said, All of life is just like me. I want to live. So do all souls, all living beings. The instinct of self preservation is universal. Every animate being clings to life and fears death. Each of us wants to be free from pain. So let me carry out all of my activities with great care not to be harmful to any living being (as cited in Rosenfield Segall). Jainism is an ecologically responsible way of life, which is non violent in thoughts, actions, and deeds (Pecorino, 2001). The heart of Jainism is to live and practice ahimsa. This is the action by which all actions are judged (ahimsa| Britannica.com, 2015). The Golden Rule, if you will. The Jain s believe that life is eternal. That all living souls have the potential of attaining enlightenment and immortality (Raghuram, 2004). If you interrupt the spiritual progress or jiva of an insect, animal, plant or person, you will incur karma (ahimsa | Britannica.com, 2015). Your karma will affect your samsara, and will determine your next incarnation. The purpose in one s life is to attain liberation from the samsara cycle. Why are we drawn to the many different facets of violence that we experience in our lives? Is violence a learned behavior or has it become a part of our evolutionary progression. As hunters and gatherers, we used violence for survival. Now, it seems that humans react with violence to resolve multiple types of conflict. Is it just primal instinct? Does our subconscious fight or flight control the way ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
