immortality from a medley of fantastical Avant guard guises (2015). He kick started, she observed,

David Bowie s theatricality on stage has been influenced by Brecht s philosophy around performance.
Berthold Brecht was a famous German poet, playwright and theatre director most well known for his
use of alienation techniques with his plays (Buckley, 2013). Alienation, distancing the audience from
immersing themselves the characters opposed to naturalism Brecht wanted to make the audience
critical and aware of what was happening. Brecht mostly used music, songs and gestures to convey
meaning in his plays (Buckley, 2013). By doing this he was able encourage the audience to create their
own perception of what was occurring. Bowie incorporates this technique within his songs and
performances. He feels that it is important for his audience to have their own association of what I am

Buffalo Bills Essay
The Buffalo Bills are about to start their 2015 season with, what some may call, the most talented
team in the past decade. Maybe the best team on paper, ever. .. Okay, that may be a stretch. But this
team is stacked up to be pretty good. They have a new coaches at the reins, some new players and a
whole new vibe that surpasses any in years past.
On offense the Bills have assembled an arsenal of weapons fans haven t seen since the early 90 s.
Those teams that featured Jim Kelly, Thurman Thomas, Andre Reed. You know the rest.
Under third year General Manager Doug Whaley, the Bills have shown new life in the National
Football League. Adding flashy players like RB LeSean McCoy via trade. Resigning core players like
DE Jerry Hughes and Jarius Wynn, as well as, key special teamer WR Marcus Easley. Whaley didn t
stop there in free agency though signing multiple players off the street. One who hasn t even played in
a whole season. OG Richie Incognito, WR Percy Harvin, TE Charles Clay and QB Tyrod Taylor
headlined those moves that brought both grit and spark, respectively, to this already growing Bills
team. But don t let the moves on the offensive side of the ball fool you. Buffalo ... Show more content

Al Qaeda, Isis And Terror Attacks On The United States Essay
Chapter 8
Al Qaeda, ISIS and Terror Attacks on the United States
Al Qaeda is the parent to ISIS. Al Qaeda translates to The Fundament . It is a multi national radical
group founded in 1988 by Osama bin Laden and other militants who fought for Afghanistan against
the Soviet Union. It has been labeled as a terrorist group by the United Nations Security Council and
the North Atlantic Treaty Organization, and quite a few other countries. The Sunni Islamic group was
based in Sudan for the early part of the 1990, they moved to Afghanistan somewhere around 1996 and
went under the name of Taliban. The group merged with Jihad s and later declared a holy war against
the United States. The United States troops all but eliminated the group and killed its leaders while
they were in Afghanistan, but with withdrawal of the troops in 2011, have regrouped and made a
comeback. https://www.britannica.com/topic/al Qaeda
ISIS which stands for Islamic State of Iraq and Syria could also be called ISIL which stand for Islamic
State of Iraq and the Levant. They are an organization or a type of government that was once with Al
Qaeda and were so violent that Al Qaeda disowned ISIS. They believe what they are doing is what
Muhammad would have them do. They are not too far away from what Hitler thought about the Jews.
ISIS lures Westerners to join them by promising camaraderie, moralistic activity and a sense of
heroism that deludes these people with an adventure like they never had before. The

Shifting gear to gear and racing down the street can be very fun. But in order to be able to actually
shift the gears and get the vehicle to move, their are many steps involved. With the perfection of these
steps you will be able to drive the vehicle smoothly and efficiently. The equipment that will be needed
for this process is usually the same for every vehicle. At a minimum, you will need an open lot, a hill
near by, and a manual transmission vehicle. Once you get the necessary equipment, it is time to get in
the driver s seat of the vehicle. Once you are in the driver s seat of the vehicle, grab onto the gear lever
and move it left to right a couple of times. If the lever is moving side to side, the vehicle is in neutral.

To shift from first gear to second gear, you will depress the clutch all the way down, and move the
gear lever straight down into second gear. If the gear lever goes into neutral, second gear is all the way
left and straight back. When into the second gear notch, start to let out the clutch. When the clutch is
out, give the vehicle gas and continue to keep driving. Continue to watch the RPM gauge is second
gear as well. When it gets back up to 3000 3500 it is time to shift gears again. Push the clutch all the
way down, and move the gear lever into neutral and straight up. This will put you into the third gear.
When into the third gear and the clutch is all the way down, start to release the clutch and start giving
gas when the clutch is about half way out. Continue to give the vehicle gas until the clutch is all the
way out and drive as normal. When into third gear, the RPM will still be climbing up, but it will start
to go up slower and slower as the gears go up. When the RPM gets back up to 3000 3500, press in the
clutch. With the clutch pushed back in, move the gear lever straight down all the way. This will put it
into fourth gear. With the gear lever in fourth gear, start to release the clutch and press back down on
the gas. When your foot is off of the clutch, continue to drive. Watching the RPM gauge again, drive

Lois Lowry s The Giver
Everything a writer experiences as a young person goes into the later writing in some form (Albert 9).
Lois Lowry is a Newbery medal children s author. She has written numerous novels, but the one that
stood out the most would be The Giver. As Lowry began to write The Giver she took her emotions,
memories and personal stories to write about this book. She makes the setting of the story in the future
where all the people have no memory and no free will. Also, every time something fearful happens in
her life, she never lets it get in the way. Instead, fear makes her a stronger person and forces her to get
the job done. Lois Lowry has been collecting her memories and life events from the past and uses
them to create her stories for The Giver.
Lois Lowry is a novelist who was born in Oahu, Hawaii on March 20, 1937. Lois Lowry grew up in a

Knowing building construction is an important job requirement for a firefighter. Knowing how
building construction works can determine whether you live or die in certain situations. One will

influence firefighting strategy and tactics during an emergency incident. There are many types of
loads, all are important and can cause significant injuries or death to firefighters. First, there is dead

Financial Statements And Balance Sheet
Manager within the farm, as well as the firm owners and those in leadership roles, help keep track of
the firm s performance by reviewing its financial statements like income statements and balance sheet.
The income statement is one of the major financial statements used by accountants and business
owners. The income statement is sometimes called profit and loss statement, statement of operations
or statement of income. It is important because it shows the profitability of a company during the time
interval specified on the heading. The income statement shows revenues, expenses, gains, and losses;
it does not show cash receipts nor cash disbursements. People pay attention to the profitability of a
company for many reasons, and the income statement helps in doing this in that it helps current
lenders and investors, company management, competitors, government agencies, labor union, and
others. The expense items located on the income statement appear under five major categories
1. Expense for cost of goods sold or cost of services or sales
2. Operating expenses selling
3. Operating expenses general and administration
4. Financial expenses

Persuasive Speech About Youth Suicide
Nicole: Man it would just warm my heart. I know too many people who have lost children. I know too
many people here in the Manitou Springs school district. There were two youth who took their lives in
one year. I mean it hits home across the nation of course across the globe. You study suicide rates for a
variety of other causes across the globe, but it s everywhere. El Paso County has one of the highest
rates of youth suicide so yeah I mean I would feel like I was actually providing true public and
community service by just doing as much as I possibly could to support families in order to prevent
that and to just bring some awareness to that. Half of it is just awareness and the ability to have the
conversation around it
Andrew: I think that that s huge Nicole and I think that s something that should really be talked about
and needs to be talked about. I also think as we re looking over not just messaging, but also
fundraising networks, we ve certainly seen an increase in youth homelessness in Manitou and
neighboring Colorado Springs and I think as you stated there s been an increase youth suicide and just
coming from my experience as a gay man I think there s some connections there. There would be a lot
of people in the LGBTQ community interested in helping people who are = committed to those sort of
issues with first being that LGBTQ youth make up about forty percent of the homeless population and
thus are more prone to teen suicide so I mean looking for different demographic and groups whether it
be looking at the LGBTQ community or the Latino community or whatnot I think you know it is not
just good for outreach and messaging to those communities, but also potentially fundraising bases as
well.
Nicole: Absolutely. I m so glad you brought that up because Urban Peak is an organization we have
down here. It s an amazing organization that deals with youth homelessness and I know the director
and communicate with her regularly. In fact, I just saw her at an event. Citizens Project is another one
that I attend their annual breakfast every year. I ve got to know several of those folks and they are very
vocal and outspoken of the LGBTQ community so that s a great point we have several organizations

a somewhat okay person, who is brought down by an error in judgement. A good character example is,
Oedipus the King, by Sophocles. Oedipus is a tragic hero who is characterized by the definition
described. Oedipus the king had a hard way of life since after his birth he is abandoned by his parents
,who wanted him killed when he was cast out of Thebes. This however, does not stop him from being
completely happy in life. Oedipus is a tragic hero because he is not this perceived perfect guy. He has
bad qualities, but this is not why he experiences a downfall. Oedipus the King, by Sophocles is a greek
tragedy play about human suffering and pain, but is good at the same time because a person can learn
something and benefit from it.Oedipus is already considered to be somewhat of a hero in the
beginning, as he is seen as a good person. He made decisions that ultimately led to the changes that
occurred in his life. Oedipus is a perfect example of a tragic hero which can be seen in his
characteristics like his tragic flaws, the desire to know the truth, and the knowledge gained in the end.
The first thing as a tragic hero that Oedipus has is tragic flaws. Within the play Oedipus displays two
tragic flaws, his pride, and his arrogance, and determination. Tiresias, the oracle predicted to Oedipus

analyzed by IR theories. Without studying security theories, international disputes cannot be analyzed

Understanding GDPR What it Means for Cyber Security
On May 25, 2018 the European Union will begin enforcing the new General Data Protection
Regulations (GDPR) that will create one data protection standard throughout the EU. These
regulations were designed to create a unified standard for personal data privacy and to simplify the
enforcement of data privacy laws throughout all EU countries. What some organizations are surprised
to learn is that these regulations go beyond the physical confines of the EU and apply to any
organization that collects or holds information on EU citizens. Furthermore, these regulations were
designed to strongly favor an individual s right to control personal data. GDPR provides ... Show more

Here are a few examples:
Consent: Organizations cannot continue to use automatic opt in or check box approaches to consent.
When organizations seek to collect, use or store personal data, individuals must explicitly opt in, and
the organization must request permission in simple, clear language that includes information on how
the data will be used. It must also be easy for people to withdraw consent.
Disclosure following information breach: An organization must notify both affected users and
authorities within 72 hours of discovering a breach that is likely to result in risk for the rights and
freedoms of individuals.
Right to access: EU citizens will have the right to know if an organization is processing their personal
data and for what purpose. Organizations in control of the data must provide a free electronic copy of
the data.
Right to be forgotten: Covered data subjects have the right to have an organization erase and stop
using their personal data if they withdraw consent. When this happens, the organization s data
controller must weigh the subject s rights vs. the public interest in the availability of the data.
As you can see, GDPR has created a lot of new regulations surrounding data use. This is a short list of
examples, but GDPR also includes rules for data portability, legitimate use of data for direct
marketing, data profiling and more.

Dangers Of Deforestation
Why Deforestation Should Stop and How It Affects the Environment?
Today one of the biggest ecological problems is Deforestation. For instance, every year the rainforests
are slowly disappearing due to deforestation which is the permanent clearing of earth s forests on a
massive scale, often resulting in damage to the quality of the land in order to make the land available
for other uses. This can be done legally and illegally. There are many reasons why trees are remove
from a forest. Some of these reasons are to cover needs or to make a profit. However, the biggest
causes of deforestation are agricultural, logging operations and growth of urban zones. Often, small
farmers will clear a few acres by cutting down trees and burning them in a process known as slash and
burn agriculture. Some are caused by a combination of human and natural factors like wildfires and
subsequent overgrazing, which may prevent the growth of young trees. Logging operations, which
provide the world s wood and paper products, also cut countless trees each year. Loggers, some of
them acting illegally, also build roads to access more remote forests which leads to further
deforestation. Forests still cover about 30 percent of the world s land area and extend throughout half
the size of most countries but, many are lost each year (Live Science).
Stopping deforestation can significantly address numerous challenges including the protection of
millions of animal and plant species, reducing global warming,

Corrective Action for Disrespecting Higher Ranking...
This essay is on tact, professionalism, respect and disrespect, as part of my corrective action for
disrespecting higher ranking military personal. I will start this essay off with defining each of the
subjects so that the reader may have a full understanding on what each mean. Tact is the first subject
on which I am suppose to include in this essay, tact is defined as a keen sense of what to say or do to
avoid giving offense; skill in dealing with difficult or delicate situations. The second definition needed
for this essay is on professionalism; professionalism is defined as professional character, spirit, or
methods. Given that there are three main points to that definition, character is the key phrase to take
from that definition for it pertains more to this essay then spirit or methods. The third definition
needed is on respect, and the most suited definition for respect as it pertains to this essay is, deference
to a right, privilege, privileged position, or someone or something considered to have certain rights or
privileges; proper acceptance or courtesy; acknowledgment. With the definition of respect given, the
last and most important definition is disrespect. Disrespect is defined as to regard or treat without
respect; regard or treat with contempt or rudeness. Tact in my opinion is the way you handle yourself
in situations that you do not agree with or support. In the military you will face many situations that
you may not understand or agree with and the

Honore De Balzac And The Napoleonic Period
An unsure Pope Pius VII, not wanting to place a crown on the head of the soon to be Emperor of
France in the extravagant Notre Dame Cathedral of Paris, who then takes matters into his own hand
and places the crown on his own head (Selin Par. 1, 2, 13). This is the situation of Napoleon
Bonaparte. After overthrowing the Directory in 1799, Napoleon worked to satisfy the needs of the
people and recreate and better the French empire by ratifying reforms, such as the Napoleonic Code
(Ligard Par. 2). This reform, and other aspects of French culture, helped shape the work of the
renowned French novelist, Honore de Balzac. Therefore, France s culture during the years 1800 to
1814 were shaped by its monarchy while the literature of Honore de Balzac evinces its cultural
connection.
From the years 1804 to 1814, also referred to as the Napoleonic Age, France became an empire, ruled
by its first emperor, Napoleon Bonaparte. When Bonaparte became emperor in 1804, it was because
the Senate who had all been chosen by Napoleon passed a law making him Emperor of the French
(Wilde Par. 6). If it were not for the people he put in Senate, Napoleon would not have become
emperor because citizens were already beginning to disapprove the changes he was making to their
government. Since he is able to chose men who will support him and follow his commands in Senate,
it reveals how much power Bonaparte really holds in his empire. Bonaparte surrounded himself by his

Digital Communication, Data, And Codes
When we enter data onto a computer system or other device by way of the keyboard, each character is
encoded into an equivalent binary coded pattern, using one of the standard coding schemes that are
used for the transposition of information. When representing all characters on a keyboard, an
exclusive pattern of 7 or 8 bits in size is used. The use of 7 bits means that 128 different elements can
be represented, while 8 bits can represent 256 elements. At the receiving end the process is reversed to
show the character key strike instead of the binary code.
The most commonly used code patterns are the Extended Binary Coded Decimal (EBCDIC) and the
American Standard Code for Information Interchange codes (ASCII). Both coding schemes support all
the normal alphabetic, numeric, and punctuation characters, more commonly referred to as printable
characters and a range of additional control characters, known as non printable characters.
This paper will be discussing what data transmission is. Other points we will discuss will be: What is
digital communication, data communication, data transfer, and what is transmission as used in

Data transmission is the movement of data in form of bits between multiple devices. The transfer can
take place by using various materials such as coaxial cables and Fiber Optics. There are two types of

The people told Jesus to perform a miracle if He wanted them to believe. They told Him that Moses
gave the Israelites manna to eat, saying The Scriptures say, Moses gave them bread from heaven to
eat.
Moses was just a man who had faith in God and tried to follow God s will as best as he could. God
gave the manna, Moses was just the one who told them what it was and how to gather and prepare it.
The people worshiped Moses over God and asked Jesus What can you do ? They wanted Jesus to
prove He was greater than Moses.
The Israelites who came out of Egypt saw the works of God and the faith of Moses and they still did
not believe. Had Jesus showed these who followed him across the lake a miracle they would have

He tells them that He lives because the living God sent Him and therefore anyone who feeds on Him
will live because of Him.
This can be a hard teaching to understand. What is the Flesh of Jesus? What is His Blood ? To
understand this we have to understand a couple of things.
First, when He says we will live, He is talking about our spirits. Our bodies will face death and decay.
They will be raised one day and glorified, but still they will die. The Scriptures clearly teach whoever
believes will not die but have eternal life.
Our spirits die by being separated from God. We must be fed spiritually in order for our spirits to live.
What do we feed our spirits on? The Word of God. Who is the Word of God? None other than Jesus.
Unless we feast on the Word our spirits will weaken and begin to die.
Now, why must we drink His blood? The Law prohibited the drinking of blood because life is in the
blood. When we drink Christ s blood, we are drinking from the cup of salvation. We are taking His life
inside of us. In other words we are accepting Him as our personal savior. It is by His blood that was
shed that we are cleansed of our

Manifesto Of Clouds
Manifesto of the Clouds Clouds Spotting
Most of people believe that the only good sky is a blue sky, likes the azure lake, its peaceful, bright
and secret. But I want to challenge the delusion, if we had to look up at cloudless monotony day after
day, life would be dull. However, in lots of our opinions, the clouds are only the ornaments of the sky;
they may make the sky more vivid. I believe that clouds are unjustly maligned. Different types of
clouds bring to us various information, the clouds are not the dispensable ornaments, but the part of
our life.
Stratus clouds are a kind of clouds familiar we can see around us. Stratus clouds are found at very low
levels (less than 2000 meters, or 6500 feet), they are thick, large, heavy looking gray clouds that
dominate the sky. Precipitation normally does not occur with this cloud, although drizzle or mist may
be observed. This type of cloud resembles fog, and occasionally when fog lifts, it will form a stratus
cloud deck. If we see stratus clouds in the sky, we don t need to worry about it will rain cats and dogs,
though the sky looks sort of murkiness.
Cirrus clouds are not only the highest, but the fastest moving of the common clouds. Cirrus clouds are
composed mainly of ice crystals due to their height in the atmosphere (6000 m, 20,000 ... Show more

Cumulus clouds are the lovely, puffy ones that are good for finding shapes in. These clouds occur in
many varieties of atmospheric conditions. Fair weather cumulus is called cumulus humilis or cumulus
fractus (smaller and scattered). As a cumulus cloud continues to grow upwards, it creates cumulus
congestus (towering cumulus), and can create rain showers. Dense and well defined, this low level
cloud (2000 3000ft) is such a familiar feature of sunny afternoons that it s referred to as the fair
weather cloud. Cumulus cloud likes a giant ice cream, sitting on an invisible cone of rising

The Transformation Of Separate States Into One Empire Essay
As our main focus is the transformation of disparate states into a single empire, we will discuss the
key points in the rise and fall of each empire before examining which common points helped them
consolidate their power and which mistakes resulted in their downfall. Both dynasties were relatively
short lived, and a theory regarding the unification and maintenance of an empire is relevant to both.
The Qin worked tirelessly to strengthen the state as a whole, by recruiting advisors, strategists, and
diplomats from other territories and developing their military capabilities. Furthermore, they
strengthened the power of their ruler with Legalist measures (which they applied ruthlessly in war as
well), which resulted in a law abiding population. Healthy agricultural production and a large tax base
helped bring about a stable society, as well as significant funding and supplies for the king s military
campaigns. Building a ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Qin Shi Huang was perhaps too heavy handed in his approach to maintaining power he abolished
noble houses, divided up country, and sent his own officials to administrate each prefecture. He forced
well known, wealthy families to move closer to the capital so he could keep watch over them, which
of course alienated him from a very powerful, influential group of people. His ban on the possession
of private arms made him less popular amongst commoners and wealthy families as well. Finally, he
suppressed scholars and did not accept criticism of his government, thus isolating himself from
another group of people who could have helped him greatly. In a similar vein, the Sui instituted a
system of government which limited the power of local elites in prefectures, which may have been
needed but created a group that resented the king. Compounded with a strained economy due to heavy
construction, neither the poor nor the wealthy was happy with the government, and rebels soon took

Authoritarianism, Knowledge, and Self awareness in Ray Bradbury s Fahrenheit 451
Background and Rationale
Ray Bradbury s Fahrenheit 451 is a dystopian novel published in 1950. The novel takes place in the
futuristic American society where technology dominates in people s lives. This is an era of prosperous
technological advances, but people s life quality is bad. The people live their life without knowledge,
wisdom, and self awareness. People are not critical because all books are banned, and illegal. The

The Role of Spirituality in Health Care Essay
Spiritual Assessment
Grand Canyon University: HLT 310
January 20, 2013
Spirituality is a delicate topic, and some may not be open to talking about their beliefs. Spirituality is
generally understood to be an essential aspect of being human (Lyndo Lam, 2012). Assessing the
spiritual needs of patients is a key component in the nursing process. A compassionate and thoughtful
nurse can make a patient feel more secure, making it easier for him to express his spirituality. The
participation of both patient and health care provider is vital in promoting spiritual health. The main
focus of a spiritual assessment is to gather information regarding the patient s spiritual needs in order
incorporate them into the plan of care, so as to treat ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Patient strongly believes that faith plays an important part in his health, but he knows that he could
also do much more for himself in order to improve his health. Mr. Ferrell quotes, I can t expect God to
help me if I don t help myself (Ferrel, 2013). Praying and honoring God does fullfil his spiritual needs
but it does not magically improve his health. He mentioned that his weakness is food and as a result he
struggles with his diabetic and renal diets; eating healthier could improve the patient s health. Mr.
Ferrell believes and knows that he needs to treat his body better as God has been so merciful with him
and considers his eating habits a sin. As a retired man, he finds time to do many Church activities that
benefit both the community and himself. He likes doing community services as it helps release some
stress caused by his illness. Being involved in Church has taken him to Jerusalem, which to him was
the most wonderful experience. Traveling has played an important role for him but cannot do so often
due to his dependency of a machine to clean his blood. What went well The patient was able to
express himself openly; no questions were skipped or left blank. Explaining the reason and the
importance of performing this spiritual assessment helped build rapport and trust with the patient
easily. Also, getting some insight into his spiritual needs made the connection between nurse and
patient stronger. What would you do differently in the

Once Were Warriors Essay
Qi Cui APA 345 Oct 21, 2017 Movie Review: Once Were Warriors (Dir. Lee Tamahori, 1994) The
Once Were Warriors is beautifully and powerfully casted film, directed by Lee Tamahor and casted by
Temuera Morrison (Jake Heke), Rena Owen (Beth Heke) and Mamaengaroa Kerr Bell (Grace Heke).
Jake is a man with high temper and his unpredictability in a number of issues is most fear provoking
thing concerning him. In many occasions, Jake play the character of the friendly, beer swilling crowd
as he plays his guitar and sing favorite songs to all, particularly in wee hours of the night with his
drunken friends. But his true colors are revealed when a person crosses his line, he can pounce in
blink of a second, with fury boiling over. Jake together with his wife (Beth) are Maoris, New
Zealanders staying in housing development. Both the husband and wife are good looking individuals,
where Jake in his luminous, sleepy eyed and self contented smile that appears as if he s full of
confidence. But the heart of the matter is that he s not. Amazingly, beer seems to be the one that fuels
his bitterness, anger and insecurities, and disguises his strength. The climax of Jake s capabilities is
illustrated in an early scene in the film where he engages in a fight while in bar by imposing greater
damage on a well built thug who appeared to have defeated every person in his sight until he met Jake.
This is a significant scene since it shows what Jake is capable of doing. As one

This is the situation of Napoleon Bonaparte. After overthrowing the Directory in 1799, Napoleon worked to satisfy the needs of the people and recreate and better the French empire by ratifying reforms, such as the Napoleonic Code (Ligard Par. 2). This reform, and other aspects of French culture, helped shape the work of the renowned French novelist, Honore de Balzac. The use of 7 bits means that 128 different elements can be represented, while 8 bits can represent 256 elements. At the receiving end the process is reversed to show the character key strike instead of the binary code. The most commonly used code patterns are the Extended Binary Coded Decimal (EBCDIC) and the American Standard Code for Information Interchange codes (ASCII).
