Network Is The Cooperative Engagement Of A Collection Of...
An ad hoc network is the cooperative engagement of a collection of mobile nodes without the required
intervention of any existing infrastructure or centralized access point. A wireless sensor network is
spatially distributed autonomous sensors which is used to monitor physical or environmental
conditions, such as temperature, sound, pressure, etc. and to cooperatively pass their data through the
network to a main location. Many ad hoc routing protocols and wireless sensor routing protocols are
based on some variant of flooding. Despite various optimizations, many routing messages are
propagated unnecessarily or some of the routing messages does not reach all the nodes in the network.
To overcome such problems we are proposing an adaptive ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
A sensor network is capable of processing, sensing and communicating which helps the base station or
command node to observe and react according to the condition in a particular environment (physical,
battle field, biological).
Sensor network protocols have a unique capability self organizing. Another interesting feature of
wireless sensor networks is that the sensor nodes cooperate with each other. Sensor nodes have an in
built processor, using which before transmission raw data is processed. These features facilitate wide
range of applications of wireless sensor networks like biomedical, environmental, military, event
detection and vehicular telematics.
Wireless networks of sensors are very much likely to be widely deployed in the future because they
greatly extend our ability to control and monitor the physical environment from remote locations.
Such networks can greatly improve the accuracy of information obtained via collaboration among
sensor nodes and online information processing at those nodes. Wireless sensor networks can also
improve remote access to sensor data by providing sink nodes that connect them to other networks,
such as the Internet, using wide area wireless links. If the sensors share their observations and
processes then that meaningful and useful information is available at the sink nodes, so users can
retrieve information from the sink nodes to monitor and control the environment from afar.

Interpersonal Conflict Paper
1) Interpersonal conflict can be defined as the interaction of interdependent people who perceive
incompatible goals and interference from each other in achieving those goals . Reese and her mother
have an interdependent relationship, meaning that the people involved in conflict rely on or need each
other in some way and have an actual relationship with each other. They are also interacting, which
means that conflicts are created and sustained through verbal and nonverbal communication. Even
though Reese and her mother are not as close as other members of the family, they still would have to
communicate in some way to realize that Reese s goal to travel over two hours away for college is
farther than her mother is comfortable with. These incompatible goals of distance become the root
cause of their interpersonal conflict.
2) This scenario between Reese and her mother would be considered content conflict within
interpersonal conflict. Content conflict is also considered substantive conflict and is defined as a
conflict that revolves around a specific issue. This disagreement falls within the scope of content
conflict as the two are arguing about the specific issue of exactly how far away Reese should be
allowed to travel for school.
3) Power, or the ability to control the behavior of another, plays a large role in this situation as Reese s
mother probably is feeling some sort of entitlement to make this decision for her daughter. At this
point in life, Reese is either

Examples Of Narcissism
According to the Diagnostic and Statistical Manual of Mental Disorders, the essential features of a
personality disorder are impairments in personality (self and interpersonal) functioning and the
presence of pathological personality traits. The personality disorder known as narcissism is often
characterized by an excessive amount of love for one s self. These individuals paradoxically are
insecure about themselves and need constant approval from others and ultimately have low self
esteem.
It greatly impairs their basic functioning skills like having a sense of identity and self direction. They
find it immensely difficult to cope with criticism of any form and thus require continuous amounts of
admiration from others. When presented with adversity it may often result in three things: extreme
rage, a counterattack or a complete social withdrawal. An example of this could be the narcissist
ranting on facebook to emphasise a disagreement with a friend. It could also mean deleting or going
on a hiatus from social media altogether. Their ability to have self direction becomes impaired when
they can no longer make goals without consulting others first. One s personal goals also become
tremendously unrealistic and unreasonably ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Those affected become so enveloped in themselves that they are unable to empathize with the feelings
of others. The self aggrandizement and self absorption of narcissistic individuals is accompanied by a
pronounced lack of interest in and empathy for others. Someone with narcissism may be uninterested
entirely in the emotions or events involving another person unless it relates back to themselves
somehow. Relationships for a narcissist are complicated and are strenuous. Little interest in their
partner s emotions or experience can lead to conflict and the narcissist s need for personal gain limits

Methods And Approaches For The Collection And...
RESEARCH METHODOLOGY
This chapter of the research intends to provide basic understanding of the adopted research design,
methods and approaches for the collection and interpretation of data (Kumar Phrommathed, 2005).
The methodology does not only offers the fundamentals of adopted research methods, but also intends
to present the rationale for the selected research i.e. specific research methods and techniques. In
addition, it provides a description of the research instruments through which the relevant information
was collected and gathered in the research study.
3.1 Research Design
The researcher decided to use primary data for the research study (Burns Bush, 2006). The use of
primary data provided the researcher with first hand information regarding the topic of interest, which
was then used to address the research questions. Considering the nature of the research study, the
researcher used quantitative research design to develop, predict, and address the research questions
(Polkinghorne, 2005).
3.2 Research Philosophy
In light of the literature, research philosophy is defined as the process of collecting and analysing
collected data in standardised and unique manner (Crossan, 2003). The most commonly used research
philosophies include; realism, positivism, and interpretivism. On the basis of the research objectives
and design, the most appropriate research philosophy was positivism.
According to positivist philosophy, the researcher remains disconnected from the

The Citizen Report (2007) attempted to analyze the progress towards realization of MDGs in the
Madhya Pradesh (MP). The study found that Madhya Pradesh had huge poverty especially the urban
poverty. The decline in poverty was slow. Urban poverty was also the fall out of rural poverty as very
and poor move to urban slums to eke out livelihood. The report revealed that the present situation did
not reflect that poverty goals could be fulfilled by 2015. Efforts are required to enhance livelihood
avenues in rural areas. Non farm sector development and industrialization need to be given adequate

Forest produce usage should be in favour of tribal and locals as they can manage minor produce to
generate income. Exclusion of people from forest would not help them. Employment guarantee
scheme has to be implemented more properly. Labour market information has to be improved and
migration controlled. Financing is a major problem. Funds need to be properly utilized for social
sector. There has to be short term, medium term and long term plans for financing health related
projects. Finances have to be mobilized from both public and private sources. The inter linkages of
various sectors and linkage of economy with outside are important. Trade can work both ways, but
efforts should be to use it effectively for betterment of poor. Tax structure requires a re look to
mobilize more resources for investment in social sector. Institutions delivering services are weak and
they need to be strengthened and new one created to have greater efficiency. Costing of specific
intervention also require attention as it would depend up on institutions and policy environment.
Selecting the best delivery system/ mechanism will reduce costs. Most MDGs cost estimates use a one
size fit all approach, based on linear relationships, which may not be true always. The cost of
expanding the coverage of a service in health and education by an extra ten percentage points, for
instance would depend on

United States Nuclear Program Essay
Since its primary colonization by the British during the 1600 s, America has struggled with the
concept of freedom. Some people came for political or religious freedom and others were brought and
servants and fought for freedom. (Wallach 2010). In the 1700 s colonists openly sought to sever their
ties with England and to govern themselves. July 4, 1776 the Declaration of Independence showed the
world that America was free from someone else s rule. As a result, democracy spread around the world
as a government by the people, for the people, with America at its forefront as a world rolemodel and
superpower.

On December 21st, 1938, Nazi Germany accidently discovered nuclear fishionmaking it a major threat
to the entire world. As a result, the scientific community became alarmed that Germany might use the
energy to construct a bomb with the power to cause indescribable destruction. Scientists Albert
Einstein, who fled Nazi persecution, and Enrico Fermi, who escaped Fascist Italy, were living in the
United States at this time (The Manhattan Project Project 2017, para. 2). Both realized the significance
of this discovery and that President Roosevelt needed to be warned immediately. While Roosevelt did
not understand the need to start an atomic program, he agreed to slowly create one. In 1941, the
American effort began and on May 12, 1942, President Roosevelt officially created the Manhattan
project, the secret program to develop the atom bomb (The Manhattan Project n.d.). The atomic bomb
had two objectives: a quick end of World War II and possession by the U.S. (and not the U.S.S.R.),
would allow control of foreign policy (The Cold War n.d.). In addition, the U.S. wanted to protect
itself against direct attacks like Japan s attack on Pearl Harbor.Ultimately The Manhattan Projecy
created the most destructive warefare ever. It denoted the nuclear era s beginning. On July 16 1945 the
first atomic bomb was detonated, dubbed the trinity test.

What Is The Relativity Of Truth In Christian Worldview
Today, the Biblical truths of the Christian worldview are continuously being challenged by the
subjective, thinking and criticism, introduced by a relatively new entrant to the religious world stage
during the 20th Century, who frequently challenges the validity and credibility of the Bible; they are
known as Post modernist. They subscribe to a model of doctrinal theology, that when it comes to
Biblical truths, for example, places greater value on the aspect of experience, more than the concept of
reason. In which case, to the Post modernist, truth becomes relative. Relativity of truth is quite
problematic, from a Christian theological perspective, as it contends that the Bible does not present
absolute truth.

Petrol Station Scene Analysis
In the Petrol Station scene, William Shakespeare s important theme of violence is amplified and
discussed through Baz Luhrmann s filmic interpretation. The theme of conflict between the
Montagues and the Capulets is a constant and crucial idea throughout the play. Baz Luhrmann has
highlighted the traditional Shakespearean language by modifying the setting to a modern context,
therefore the audience is able to relate to the text. Furthermore, the setting choice of a petrol station
provides the film with the ability to effectively enhance the dramatic language revealed in the play.
Irony and contrast are also really essential in drawing the audience s attention to the violence in
Romeo and Juliet. Tybalt states, What, drawn, and talk of ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The relentless and dangerous feud between the Montagues and Capulets is elaborated in Romeo +
Juliet through the contrast in tone, speed and style of music when these two different parties are
introduced. The Montagues are introduced with is light and airy music, however, the music is altered
to a heavy western style when the Capulets enter the scene. The musical elements create anticipation
among the audience as they foreshadow the imminent fight. Furthermore, the distinctive difference in
race between the Latino Capulet boys and Anglo Saxon Montague boys represents and symbolises the
conflict between the two houses. Reinforcing the ongoing war between the Montagues and Capulets,
Baz Luhrmann has applied corresponding camera shots of the two contrasting family crests which are
opposite primary colours. Therefore, Luhrmann makes reference to the conflict theme exploited in
Shakespeare s work. (link) Baz Luhrmann has successfully enhanced the audience s appreciation of
Shakespearean text in the scene Death on a Summer s Day. Mercutio is a dominate and opinionated
force throughout the play, who is illustrated by Shakespeare as a victim of Romeo and Juliet s love.

Technology And The Internet And Personal Smartphone Devices
With the ever increasing use of technological advancements such as the internet and personal
smartphone devices, many people simply take their security for granted. However, the act of simply
connecting to a web page like the Google search engine requires interacting with thousands of security
checkpoints and distinct networks just to display their distinctive logo. Every modern organization
must consider the risk of the internet, including but not limited to: banks, organizations, universities,
militaries, big business, local shops, and even governments. Astonishingly, this is a risk that
essentially did not exist merely 20 years ago. Nowadays there are many ways to add security to a
system or network. Some will find that simply placing a password on their site works and others may
find encrypting their data is the best way to keep private information safe. Nevertheless, the loss of
personal information to things like identity theft is at an all time high. This lack of cyber security
means that there is an increasing number of ways to get personal information with the ever expanding
use of technology and thusly a more dire need for awareness of the risks taken.
Need for Cyber Security To directly address the sheer magnitude of the issue at hand, users must
understand what exactly falls under the category of cyberspace and thusly cyber security . Goutam

Persuasive Essay On Sports And Politics
In recent years we as a country have seen a huge spike in instances where sports and politics collide.
Two examples would include the Anthem protests and the Hands up don t shoot entrance into the
stadium by the National Football League s St. Louis Rams. If you take a deeper look back into the
history of the United States you see many more examples of different varieties throughout every sport.
Most notably one of the greatest boxers of all time, Mohammed Ali, refusing to be drafted to a war he
disagreed with and Jackie Robinson breaking the color barrier in baseball.
Baseball is easily described as America s pastime. Personally, baseball is my favorite sport to play and
attend. It is pure irony that the earliest known mention of baseball in the United States occurred in my
home state of Massachusetts in Pittsfield in 1792. It was recorded because a law was made banning
the playing of a baseball game within eighty yards of the town meeting house. It is important to note
that the first mention of baseball in history was in reference to a political matter. The game was played
under modern day rules by upper middle class white men in the 1840 s by the New York
Knickerbockers. In 1857, baseball officially was in full swing with sixteen New York ball clubs
joining the first ever chapter of the National Association of Baseball. (Baseball Reference). Baseball
has had numerous instances where specific players or teams have faced some sort of social/political

knowledgeable about art, and I heard them talking about pieces of art that Mr. Bierly talk about it. The
workers were very friendly and amiable. They always smile at you making you felt welcome and
those actions made me feel more comfortable. Next, each room of art were unique. When I get into
each room, some things that surprise me that each room was very exclusive, original and uncommon.

The organization states that this implant can not restore normal hearing, instead it can give the person
a useful representation of sounds in the environment and help them to understand speech. With all of
these pieces the cochlear implant works very different from a hearing aid. Hearing aids amplify sound
so they may be detected by damaged ears, while cochlear implants bypass the damages and directly
stimulate the auditory nerve. The signals generated by the implant are sent to the auditory nerve,
which then send the signals to the brain. The brain then recognizes the signals as sound. According to
the NIDCD (2013a) the cochlear implant can be helpful to many different people. Both children and
adults can be fitted for cochlear implants and as stated by the Food and Drug Administration, as of
December 2012, approximately 324,000 people have cochlear implants worldwide. In the U.S. alone,
about 58,000 adults and 38,000 children have them. Adults who have lost their hearing often benefit
from cochlear implants due to the signs they receive can easily be associated with sounds they have

Pros And Cons Of The Good Samaritan Law
Quality of patient care can be affected in various ways, but specifically discussed here is how quality
of patient care is affected via the Good Samaritan law. In Nelson s (2017) article, an off duty RN did
not hesitate to help a person thrown from their car in an accident. The RN did what she could during
the emergency to make the person as comfortable as she could before he died on the scene. The RN
speaks about most people s natural inclination to stop and help if they could in other emergency

Mindfulness Practice
Mindfulness practice is the purposeful, nonjudgmental, moment to moment awareness that a person
has. The goal of mindfulness meditation is to get the person better acquainted with their thoughts and
feelings in the present moment of experiencing them (Corts, Dolderman, Krause, Smith, 2015). People
must take an attitude of acceptance and openness towards themselves and they must detach from
negative or troubling thoughts. The effects of mindfulness mediation on cancer patients or survivors
correlates with a better well being for these people. The ability to engage in mindful awareness is
associated with improved psychological distress and physical health symptoms in populations with
chronic illness, including cancer.
Psychological distress
Individuals living with cancer frequently experience psychological distress throughout the course of
the illness. Psychological distress can interfere with the ability to cope with cancer. The study done by

Billie Holiday Research Paper
No two people on earth are alike, and it s got to be that way in music or it isn t music. This little
known quote is from none other than Billie Holiday. These words of hers serve accurately to show that
she was aware that in order to thrive in the music world, you had to be different. She was an African
American female vocalist beginning in the 1930 s. Holiday was not privileged, yet she still managed
to make an impact on the music world with her unique, almost rugged voice and meaningful lyrics
that caused her listeners to do a double take.

Time and drugs added an even more gravely tone to Holiday s voice, but her vocals still come out in a
beautiful and unique way. The beat behind Holiday s vocals is no longer fast paced and upbeat. For the
majority of the recording, all that is played behind her voice is a piano, other than a few trumpet solos.
The song lyrics in Strange Fruit can be seen as being more artful than entertaining; this is certainly not
a song you would dance to. She graphically illustrates African American bodies hanging from poplar
trees (lynching) with phrases like, the bulging eyes and twisted mouth, here is fruit for the crows to
pluck, and the sudden smell of burning flesh. As discussed previously, she leaves silences between
phrases for the listener to digest the scenario she is producing. Jazz critic Ralph suggests that she was
a sort of living lyric to the song Strange Fruit , hanging not on a poplar tree, but on the limbs of life
itself. (Gill, 2015). It is evident that she sang this song with passion and soul. No longer did she have
to play for swing bands in which she was intended to show off. She gained the ability and reputation
to sing what she felt passionate about. She grew into a vocalist who made her own rules and had
settled into her very own style. Over a century has gone by since the birth of the legendary jazz
vocalist, Billie Holiday. Holiday faced never ending adversity on her journey, but stopped at nothing
to gain stardom. Her legacy inspires other artists to sing what they are passionate about and never give
up, even if society and fate want them to. Music styles have changed but her influence and unique

The Colbert Report is an American late night talk show, which is a news satire and comedic program.
The show illustrates how the comedy and satire genre is important when it comes to informing people
about political and controversial topics. The comedic element of the show makes the program
entertaining and informative. In comparison to The Harvest of Shame this documentary that was used
to inform the American people about a sever issue made people feel bad, it was depressing. The
Colbert Report takes boring political issues and makes them interested, which appeals to younger
adults. Many young adults do not pay attention to politics because it is boring or too difficult to

Comparison Of Gen X And Y Generation
Generations As I grew up I realized that my life is very different from the life that my parents and my
grandparents lived and probably will be different from the life my children will live. Some people say
that every generation is different from each other. Throughout history many generation have been
named after something that it s said to describe them in every way, Tim Urban called the generation I
live in the Generation Y or GYPSY s. The generation my parents lived in was called Generation X or
Baby Boomers. The Gen X and Y are very different in some aspects while in other they are very
similar. For many people the normal five milestones of adulthood are completing school, leaving
home, becoming financially independent, marring and having a child (Henig) in that order, but the
people in generation Y have a different way of viewing those milestones. People in the Y generation
stopped marring early and having babies and became more focused on their careers, while others
choose to leave school for work, some never have children or are unable to, some never leave home or
return home after some time and some never achieve all the five milestones. During my parents
generation in Brazil it was normal for people to return to their parents house (Fischer) and stay there
until they get married or start a new family, different from generation Y the education was very
important so not many people left school. Most people in the Baby boomers generation kept the same

The Underlying Causes Of World War I
Underlying Causes of WWI
Though men around the world were eager to march off to war, none of them knew the dangers that
were ahead. During World War I, 10 million people across Europe died fighting for what they believed
in. WWI lasted for four years between 1914 and 1918. Millions of soldiers around the world fought
for what they believed in hopes of bettering their homelands and protecting their allies. People were
happy to support their country in hopes of new opportunities and better resources. Soldiers predicted
the war would be over in six months, but they soon realized World War I would last almost half a
decade in the trenches. Though the main cause of World War I was imperialism, other causes include

neutral countries. The map solidifies the claim that alliances were an underlying cause of World War I
due to the great contrast in countries directly adjacent to each other. Another example of alliances
comes from The Chicago Daily Tribune in the artwork labeled, THE CRIME OF THE AGES. WHO
DID IT? by artist, John T. McCutcheon. The image depicts eight European men each wearing a banner
of the country they represent and pointing at each other. Behind them is a woman stabbed by a sword
with the banner reading ¨The Peace of Europe¨ and in the top right is a hand pointing at the men. The
picture is showing that none of them are willing to admit who started the war. Each man is pointing to
another in a different alliance. None of the

Bosnia Herzegovin A Rough History
Body: Bosnia Herzegovina has a rough history, especially with its neighboring countries. Tensions in
the Balkans increased after World War II. Bosnia Herzegovina went from a prime example of cultural
unity to the exact opposite due to the dissolution of Yugoslavia. Yugoslavia was created at the end of
World War I, when Bosnian, Croat, and Slovenian territories joined that of the Serbian Empire.
Yugoslavia was split up during World War II, but was once again unified at the end by Josip Broz Tito.
Due to cultural differences, remembrance of WWII events, and the death of Josip Broz Tito,
Yugoslavia, once again, broke up in the early 1990s. My parents were born and raised in different
parts of Yugoslavia, but with the break up of Yugoslavia, and wars that followed between Bosnia and
Serbia, my parents had to escape to Germany (where my brother and I would soon be born). Growing
up I always heard about how great it was to live in a Yugoslavia that was ruled by Josip Broz Tito, it
was a place where people got along with one another. However, that would soon change. In an essay
written by Alan Fraser, he describes the conditions of Yugoslavia during the time of unity. In his
opening sentence he says the first thing I noticed about Yugoslavia was the ease and honesty, the trust
people had for each other, treating one another like family. The quote speaks volumes, especially
coming from a foreigner to the region. Yugoslavia was truly a place where everyone got along with

The contributing factor might therefore be ineffective management of school finance.
Direct financial support to primary schools is a new observable fact in Tanzanian context. Little has
been done as regards to how financial records are kept at school level, specifically capitation grants
and the mechanisms through which the funds are used. Reviews from government reports indicate that
in some schools, the funds were not fully utilized to serve the purpose in relation to centrally
determined plans to attain the intended goals
(REPOA and URT, 2004; URT, 2003). This issue is significant because there is relationship between

Second Great Awakening Movement
A second great awakening emerged toward the end of the eighteenth century in New England. Unlike
the first great awakening, this movement of the Holy Spirit used intellectual institutions of higher
learning as the spark that ignited this awakening that eventually spread across this new nation. Yale
University with its president, Timothy Dwight, the grandson of Jonathan Edwards is seen as one
ignition points of this movement. The early fruit of this movement included the founding of many
organizations dedicated to making the gospel known across this new land and across the globe.
Mission organizations such as the American Board of Commissioners for Foreign Missions are seen as
a direct fruit of this movement.
Another important outcome of this movement is seen in the breaking down of ethnic origins and
religious affiliations. In other words, as immigrants flooded into America and moved west into the
new frontier, religious affiliations they brought with them faded away. An example of how this worked
is seen in the Methodist camp meetings and the circuit riding Methodist preachers who brought the
gospel into these new areas and to the new citizens living in these areas. These camp meetings often
lasted for days with many coming to the Lord as the Holy Spirit moved across and through this new
land. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
While Americans believed that God s hand was on this new country, it led some to interpret this belief
that non white did have not a place or part in this plan. This led to the War with Mexico and ultimately
the American Civil War. For the church, denominations divided on this issue based on their stance on
the issue of slavery. An example of this divide is seen in the Southern Baptist Convention, which
formed after a slave holding missionary candidate was refused a

Nepal s Effect On India
Background
Nepal s geography has made Nepal economically dependent on India as it is surrounded on three sides
by India and on one (to its north) with the Himalayan range and the region of Tibet. After the
devastating earth quake in Nepal, the country was hit by another humanitarian crisis this time due to a
blockade at a crucial crossing on the border with India, which halted oil and other essential supplies
landlocked Nepal obtains from its giant neighbor. The unveiling of a new constitution in late
September sparked tensions between the Madhesi ethnic group and the government. The Madhesi and
Tharu (ethnic group) people, who account for many of the southern residents of Nepal, had been
protesting their lack of inclusion in the new ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
And blockade of essential supplies with complete support of Indian government. Nepalese security
had requested that it would protect truck drivers entering Nepal from the Indian border. But Indian
custom officials has blocked supplies saying it s an order from above as in the Indian government. So,
those to blame were Madhesi leaders, Indian government for supporting them and lastly Indian news
and media giving completely biased information.
Effects of the Blockade
Nepal Oil Corporation had instructed fuel stations to stop selling petrol and diesel to vehicles bearing
private registration numbers. The Nepali government was allowing people to drive only on alternate
days and had asked people to use charcoal and firewood for cooking. It was like going back to the
stone age where daily food had to be cooked in firewood. Only army trucks, and those carrying
medical and essential supplies are being exempted. Efforts were also ongoing to reopen trading routes
with China that had remained blocked because of huge landslides since the devastating earthquake in
April 2015. On 29 September 2015, Kathmandu Airport the only International Airport in the country
issued an advisory to international airlines to carry extra fuel after suspending refueling facility due to
acute fuel shortage. As a result, many international flights had to been cancelled. In the midst of the
major festival season,

Old Spice Ads
Most of us have probably, at one point in time, seen the Old Spice commercials. One commercial, in
general, has become a very well known one recently called the Mom song. This commercial is in a
series of commercials named Smellcome to Manhood. These commercials first began in 2014 during
the NFL playoff games and have since become some of the most popular commercials on television
and the internet. Within a day of its airing, the term Old Spice was tweeted over 50,000 times, and the
video has had over 1 million views since its posting on the internet. Some say it s funny, others say it s
creepy. In any case, this commercial has the internet buzzing. What is it about this ad that make it so
appealing? Although this commercial doesn t realistically depict the product it s advertising, its clever
and subtle use of all three of the primary aspects of appeal (ethos, pathos, and logos) persuaded many
to switch to Old Spice, and, as a result, root itself into the popular culture. Old Spice s Mom Song
opens with one mother singing behind the door of her son s room while he gets ready for his day. As
the commercial continues, more moms join into the song as they stalk their sons throughout their day.

While Old Spice is known for having bizarre commercials, this commercial has become a masterpiece
as it uses the fear of mothers to show that their product has made their little boys into men. The reason
this commercial is so effective is because it cleverly combines all appeals (ethos, pathos, logos) and
also incorporating a somewhat creepy, yet humorous, mood to the whole commercial. The marketing
director of Old Spice, John Sebastian, commented in an interview that was in an article by Jeff Knack
(2014), Knowing that we had some pretty awesome innovation...we set out to talk to a younger target
of 12 24 year olds. (par.

Visual Effects Created By E.E. Cummings In His Poetry Essay
Visual Effects Created By E.E. Cummings In His Poetry
Edward Estlin Cummings, commonly referred to as E. E. Cummings, was born on October 14, 1894 in
Cambridge, Massachusetts. He was a source of vast knowledge and was responsible for many creative
works other than his poetry, such as novels, plays, and paintings. He published his first book of poetry
Tulips and Chimneys in 1923. Many of his poems are known for the visual effects they create through
his unusual placement of words on the page, as well as, his lack of punctuation and capitalization. The
manner in which Cummings arranges the words of his poems creates an image in the reader s mind of
the topic he is discussing, such as a season or climbing stairs. His visual style also ... Show more

The reader also obtains a visual effect when reading Cummings in Just . In this poem, the main topic
is springtime and the various aspects of that season. Cummings creates the words mud luscious and
puddle wonderful to provide the reader with images of spring from a child s perspective. Adults would
view mud and puddles as a negative aspect of spring, resulting from the melting of snow and the
showers that usually occur at that time of the year. However, by creating these words, Cummings
brings the reader back to their own childhood when mud and puddles were wonderful aspects of
spring.
In this same poem, Cumming also uses spacing to create an image in the reader s mind. For example,
he writes:
lame balloonman whistles far and wee (Cummings 21 22.)
The fact that the word far is separated from the other words in the line creates an image that the
whistling is in the distance. Additionally, he joins the names eddieandbill and bettyandisbel. This
illustrates that there is a togetherness that is usually found in spring because it is a time when children
play outside with their friends. By joining the names, the poet captures the manner in which children,
who are excited, speak by running their words together and leaving out syllables. Spring is usually a
time when people s

Recruiting Potential Job Candidates Is A Process
Recruiting potential job candidates is a process that all nurse managers will have to be familiar with.
Recruiting processes vary from organization to organization and takes time and skill to ultimately
select the best possible candidates for both the unit and the organization as a whole. The purpose of
this paper is to share and describe the selection process that my organization uses as well as to
evaluate the effectiveness of the process in use.

Recruitment of competent RN staff will ensure safe patient care (Markey, 2012). It is important to
fully evaluate each candidate and not rush to fill the position.
Current Recruitment Process The facility I work in has a posting and selection policy that we follow in
order to ensure that candidates are fairly identified and considered for employment, promotion, or
transfer opportunities. This applies for both internal and external candidates. The first step is for the
nurse manager to make a request from upper management the need to post an opening. Upon receiving
approval, the nurse manager then decides whether to post approved open positions within the
department for three (3) calendar days or to post within the organization for seven (7) calendar days.
Appropriate approvals authorize recruitment activity for up to six (6) months.
Internal Recruitment and Selection Process If posted within the department, applicants submit an
Internal Application form directly to the hiring manager within the three days the position is posted
within the department. If posted within the department and there are no qualified applicants, the
Position Request form is submitted to Human Resources and the position is posted organization wide
for four (4) calendar days. Applicants for positions posted organization wide submit an online
application. This form will be sent directly to the Employment Specialist for

Mean Men Case Study
CHAPTER FOUR The Mainstreaming of Mean Mean men are hardly a new phenomenon, and the
tyrannical boss has been a familiar archetype in American culture ever since the invention of the
modern industrial era workplace. In fact, in many ways organizational culture is far more touchy feely
now than it used to be much as corporeal punishment in schools is out, along with spanking your kids.
Yet powerful forces have been at work in American society that have fueled bad behavior in high
places, allowing more mean men to get to the top and stay there, even as they create misery all around
them. These forces can be roughly divided in two baskets: first, thanks to changes in the economy and
business, men can rise to leadership roles without having to pay their dues in large organizations and
having their rough edges sanded down along the way. Second, thanks to a combination of economic
and cultural changes, men feel more license to exhibit outsized personality traits, including very
negative ones, and can more easily get away with bad behavior as long as they get results. Let s dig
into the both these baskets. Free Agent Nation It s unlikely that a guy like Aaron could ever have
become a boss fifty years ago. Why? Because he wouldn t have ... Show more content on

where you d be expected to take orders from others, follow rigid procedures, and check your

What Is The Atomic Bomb Inhumane
One major argument for the use of the atomic bomb was that it would save thousands, if not, millions
of U.S. and Japanese lives. With a U.S. invasion set for November of 1945, it was predicted that
nearly a million U.S. soldiers would be lost, and the entire population of Japan s main inland would
suffer causalities. We believed that thousands of civilian lives were worth our own. The sacrifice of
these individuals was worth it all. Where does morality come into play? How does one decide what
lives matter and which ones do not? I believe that the atomic bomb was inhumane, more so for the
long term environmental, social, and health effects which took place. The destructive effects of the
bomb had three phases: a fireball that hit temperatures

  • 2. Network Is The Cooperative Engagement Of A Collection Of... An ad hoc network is the cooperative engagement of a collection of mobile nodes without the required intervention of any existing infrastructure or centralized access point. A wireless sensor network is spatially distributed autonomous sensors which is used to monitor physical or environmental conditions, such as temperature, sound, pressure, etc. and to cooperatively pass their data through the network to a main location. Many ad hoc routing protocols and wireless sensor routing protocols are based on some variant of flooding. Despite various optimizations, many routing messages are propagated unnecessarily or some of the routing messages does not reach all the nodes in the network. To overcome such problems we are proposing an adaptive ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... A sensor network is capable of processing, sensing and communicating which helps the base station or command node to observe and react according to the condition in a particular environment (physical, battle field, biological). Sensor network protocols have a unique capability self organizing. Another interesting feature of wireless sensor networks is that the sensor nodes cooperate with each other. Sensor nodes have an in built processor, using which before transmission raw data is processed. These features facilitate wide range of applications of wireless sensor networks like biomedical, environmental, military, event detection and vehicular telematics. Wireless networks of sensors are very much likely to be widely deployed in the future because they greatly extend our ability to control and monitor the physical environment from remote locations. Such networks can greatly improve the accuracy of information obtained via collaboration among sensor nodes and online information processing at those nodes. Wireless sensor networks can also improve remote access to sensor data by providing sink nodes that connect them to other networks, such as the Internet, using wide area wireless links. If the sensors share their observations and processes then that meaningful and useful information is available at the sink nodes, so users can retrieve information from the sink nodes to monitor and control the environment from afar. • 3. Interpersonal Conflict Paper 1) Interpersonal conflict can be defined as the interaction of interdependent people who perceive incompatible goals and interference from each other in achieving those goals . Reese and her mother have an interdependent relationship, meaning that the people involved in conflict rely on or need each other in some way and have an actual relationship with each other. They are also interacting, which means that conflicts are created and sustained through verbal and nonverbal communication. Even though Reese and her mother are not as close as other members of the family, they still would have to communicate in some way to realize that Reese s goal to travel over two hours away for college is farther than her mother is comfortable with. These incompatible goals of distance become the root cause of their interpersonal conflict. 2) This scenario between Reese and her mother would be considered content conflict within interpersonal conflict. Content conflict is also considered substantive conflict and is defined as a conflict that revolves around a specific issue. This disagreement falls within the scope of content conflict as the two are arguing about the specific issue of exactly how far away Reese should be allowed to travel for school. 3) Power, or the ability to control the behavior of another, plays a large role in this situation as Reese s mother probably is feeling some sort of entitlement to make this decision for her daughter. • 4. Examples Of Narcissism According to the Diagnostic and Statistical Manual of Mental Disorders, the essential features of a personality disorder are impairments in personality (self and interpersonal) functioning and the presence of pathological personality traits. The personality disorder known as narcissism is often characterized by an excessive amount of love for one s self. These individuals paradoxically are insecure about themselves and need constant approval from others and ultimately have low self esteem. It greatly impairs their basic functioning skills like having a sense of identity and self direction. They find it immensely difficult to cope with criticism of any form and thus require continuous amounts of admiration from others. When presented with adversity it may often result in three things: extreme rage, a counterattack or a complete social withdrawal. An example of this could be the narcissist ranting on facebook to emphasise a disagreement with a friend. It could also mean deleting or going on a hiatus from social media altogether. Their ability to have self direction becomes impaired when they can no longer make goals without consulting others first. One s personal goals also become tremendously unrealistic and unreasonably ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... • 5. Methods And Approaches For The Collection And... RESEARCH METHODOLOGY This chapter of the research intends to provide basic understanding of the adopted research design, methods and approaches for the collection and interpretation of data (Kumar Phrommathed, 2005). The methodology does not only offers the fundamentals of adopted research methods, but also intends to present the rationale for the selected research i.e. specific research methods and techniques. In addition, it provides a description of the research instruments through which the relevant information was collected and gathered in the research study. 3.1 Research Design The researcher decided to use primary data for the research study (Burns Bush, 2006). The use of primary data provided the researcher with first hand information regarding the topic of interest, which was then used to address the research questions. Considering the nature of the research study, the researcher used quantitative research design to develop, predict, and address the research questions (Polkinghorne, 2005). 3.2 Research Philosophy In light of the literature, research philosophy is defined as the process of collecting and analysing collected data in standardised and unique manner (Crossan, 2003). The most commonly used research philosophies include; realism, positivism, and interpretivism. Some people came for political or religious freedom and others were brought and servants and fought for freedom. (Wallach 2010). In the 1700 s colonists openly sought to sever their ties with England and to govern themselves. July 4, 1776 the Declaration of Independence showed the world that America was free from someone else s rule. On December 21st, 1938, Nazi Germany accidently discovered nuclear fishionmaking it a major threat to the entire world. As a result, the scientific community became alarmed that Germany might use the energy to construct a bomb with the power to cause indescribable destruction. Scientists Albert Einstein, who fled Nazi persecution, and Enrico Fermi, who escaped Fascist Italy, were living in the United States at this time (The Manhattan Project Project 2017, para. 2). Both realized the significance of this discovery and that President Roosevelt needed to be warned immediately. While Roosevelt did not understand the need to start an atomic program, he agreed to slowly create one. In 1941, the American effort began and on May 12, 1942, President Roosevelt officially created the Manhattan project, the secret program to develop the atom bomb (The Manhattan Project n.d.). The atomic bomb had two objectives: a quick end of World War II and possession by the U.S. (and not the U.S.S.R.), would allow control of foreign policy (The Cold War n.d.). What Is The Relativity Of Truth In Christian Worldview Today, the Biblical truths of the Christian worldview are continuously being challenged by the subjective, thinking and criticism, introduced by a relatively new entrant to the religious world stage during the 20th Century, who frequently challenges the validity and credibility of the Bible; they are known as Post modernist. They subscribe to a model of doctrinal theology, that when it comes to Biblical truths, for example, places greater value on the aspect of experience, more than the concept of reason. In which case, to the Post modernist, truth becomes relative. Baz Luhrmann has highlighted the traditional Shakespearean language by modifying the setting to a modern context, therefore the audience is able to relate to the text. The musical elements create anticipation among the audience as they foreshadow the imminent fight. Furthermore, the distinctive difference in race between the Latino Capulet boys and Anglo Saxon Montague boys represents and symbolises the conflict between the two houses. Technology And The Internet And Personal Smartphone Devices With the ever increasing use of technological advancements such as the internet and personal smartphone devices, many people simply take their security for granted. However, the act of simply connecting to a web page like the Google search engine requires interacting with thousands of security checkpoints and distinct networks just to display their distinctive logo. Every modern organization must consider the risk of the internet, including but not limited to: banks, organizations, universities, militaries, big business, local shops, and even governments. Astonishingly, this is a risk that essentially did not exist merely 20 years ago. Nowadays there are many ways to add security to a system or network. Some will find that simply placing a password on their site works and others may find encrypting their data is the best way to keep private information safe. Nevertheless, the loss of personal information to things like identity theft is at an all time high. This lack of cyber security means that there is an increasing number of ways to get personal information with the ever expanding use of technology and thusly a more dire need for awareness of the risks taken. Two examples would include the Anthem protests and the Hands up don t shoot entrance into the stadium by the National Football League s St. Louis Rams. If you take a deeper look back into the history of the United States you see many more examples of different varieties throughout every sport. Most notably one of the greatest boxers of all time, Mohammed Ali, refusing to be drafted to a war he disagreed with and Jackie Robinson breaking the color barrier in baseball. Baseball is easily described as America s pastime. Personally, baseball is my favorite sport to play and attend. It is pure irony that the earliest known mention of baseball in the United States occurred in my home state of Massachusetts in Pittsfield in 1792. It was recorded because a law was made banning the playing of a baseball game within eighty yards of the town meeting house. It is important to note that the first mention of baseball in history was in reference to a political matter. The game was played under modern day rules by upper middle class white men in the 1840 s by the New York Knickerbockers. In 1857, baseball officially was in full swing with sixteen New York ball clubs joining the first ever chapter of the National Association of Baseball. (Baseball Reference). The organization states that this implant can not restore normal hearing, instead it can give the person a useful representation of sounds in the environment and help them to understand speech. With all of these pieces the cochlear implant works very different from a hearing aid. Hearing aids amplify sound so they may be detected by damaged ears, while cochlear implants bypass the damages and directly stimulate the auditory nerve. The signals generated by the implant are sent to the auditory nerve, which then send the signals to the brain. The brain then recognizes the signals as sound. According to the NIDCD (2013a) the cochlear implant can be helpful to many different people. Both children and adults can be fitted for cochlear implants and as stated by the Food and Drug Administration, as of December 2012, approximately 324,000 people have cochlear implants worldwide. The goal of mindfulness meditation is to get the person better acquainted with their thoughts and feelings in the present moment of experiencing them (Corts, Dolderman, Krause, Smith, 2015). People must take an attitude of acceptance and openness towards themselves and they must detach from negative or troubling thoughts. • 17. Billie Holiday Research Paper No two people on earth are alike, and it s got to be that way in music or it isn t music. This little known quote is from none other than Billie Holiday. These words of hers serve accurately to show that she was aware that in order to thrive in the music world, you had to be different. She was an African American female vocalist beginning in the 1930 s. Holiday was not privileged, yet she still managed to make an impact on the music world with her unique, almost rugged voice and meaningful lyrics that caused her listeners to do a double take. Time and drugs added an even more gravely tone to Holiday s voice, but her vocals still come out in a beautiful and unique way. The beat behind Holiday s vocals is no longer fast paced and upbeat. For the majority of the recording, all that is played behind her voice is a piano, other than a few trumpet solos. The song lyrics in Strange Fruit can be seen as being more artful than entertaining; this is certainly not a song you would dance to. She graphically illustrates African American bodies hanging from poplar trees (lynching) with phrases like, the bulging eyes and twisted mouth, here is fruit for the crows to pluck, and the sudden smell of burning flesh. As discussed previously, she leaves silences between phrases for the listener to digest the scenario she is producing. Jazz critic Ralph suggests that she was a sort of living lyric to the song Strange Fruit , hanging not on a poplar tree, but on the limbs of life itself. (Gill, 2015). It is evident that she sang this song with passion and soul. No longer did she have to play for swing bands in which she was intended to show off. She gained the ability and reputation to sing what she felt passionate about. She grew into a vocalist who made her own rules and had settled into her very own style. Over a century has gone by since the birth of the legendary jazz vocalist, Billie Holiday. Holiday faced never ending adversity on her journey, but stopped at nothing to gain stardom. Her legacy inspires other artists to sing what they are passionate about and never give up, even if society and fate want them to. Unlike the first great awakening, this movement of the Holy Spirit used intellectual institutions of higher learning as the spark that ignited this awakening that eventually spread across this new nation. Yale University with its president, Timothy Dwight, the grandson of Jonathan Edwards is seen as one ignition points of this movement. The early fruit of this movement included the founding of many organizations dedicated to making the gospel known across this new land and across the globe. Mission organizations such as the American Board of Commissioners for Foreign Missions are seen as a direct fruit of this movement. Another important outcome of this movement is seen in the breaking down of ethnic origins and religious affiliations.
