Langston Hughes Salvation
Langston Hughes Salvation was a short story written about the experience he had getting saved. I
found the short story to be very familiar and known. The short story appears to follow Langston
Hughes many feelings and emotions such as heartbreak, despair, sadness, hope, and loss. In this piece,
most of the story centered around Langston at church and his surroundings as he was getting saved.
On the other hand, Ken Noyle s A Grunt Prayer was a poem he wrote about his prayer from the war. I
found the prayer to be very sad and inspirational. The poem appears to follow his feelings on the war
such as loss, fear, hope, and love. In this work, most of this poem centered around a prayer made from
a soldier in war.

Evolution of Women in the Military
The Evolution of Women in the Military
Abstract
Women are without doubt an integral part of the military services. It took the determination of women
throughout history to pave the way for the 400,000, women that serve today. From the early years of
the military to the present conflict in Afghanistan, women have made continuous progress towards
equality. It is through their contributions that the military has evolved, consistently opening more jobs
to women in combat. Time has proven that war does not discriminate; a successful military uses the
strengths of all members despite their gender.

The Navy and Marines were the first to enlist women ignoring red tape from congress. The Navy
enlisted over 12,000 Yeomen and 1,500 nurses and the Marines enlisted over 300 women in the
reserves as telephone operators and clerks. The Army unofficially enlisted over 21,000 nurses as
contract workers and volunteers. The Army Signal Corp trained over 300 bilingual telephone
operators and stenographers. At the end of the war, the military did not recognize women for their
service or consider them Veterans. For example, the telephone operators left the military with little
appreciation, receiving no ceremonies and no formal discharge or benefits. These women performed
duties no less important than the men did and the mission would have failed without them, yet the
military was able to dismiss them with no concern for their contributions. In 1979, the Army reviewed
the women s service and determined that they performed duties as any other Soldier had. They gave
them full recognition; unfortunately, for many it was too late, they passed away never receiving the
title of Veteran.
As women volunteered for service for a resistant military, compared to the many men that the
government drafted it was clear the military did not appreciate their commitment, sacrifices and value
the worth of women. This was evident by the Army Reorganization Act in 1920, which granted
military nurses relative rank of an officer, not receiving the same pay, benefits, and privileges

Reflection Of A Glass Window
The object I chose to draw was a stained glass window depicting the thirteenth station of the cross,
where the crucified Jesus is laid into the arms of His mother, Mary. This object is colorful and vivid,
with the people in the window image portrayed in bright colors in contrast to the background. In
addition, the people portrayed have precise naturalistic details and proportions regarding their
clothing, bodies, and facial expressions. Through the exercise of drawing this stained glass window of
the thirteenth station, I learned about proportionality, black space, and unification. I also learned how
the Catholic faith can relate to these different aspects of drawing. I started drawing the border and
outlines of the image; not the entire ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Otherwise, the entire image would not look right. I did not finish drawing the window because I
wanted to place the parts proportionately so as to accurately portray the window as a whole. The
window s detail did not serve as a priority in the drawing exercise because I believed the unity of its
parts was central to making it look as accurate as possible. Additionally, I learned that the unification
of the drawing s parts were necessary in drawing the window. It can be said in the spiritual life that
Jesus makes our brokenness whole and creates beauty out of it, much like how the beauty of stained
glass window only makes sense as a unified whole. I took some time in the beginning of the drawing
exercise to examine the window for a second time, which allowed me to see that these pieces only
made sense together. Yes, the pieces of stained glass are pretty by themselves, but they only form the
image of the thirteenth station when together. Examining the stained glass window for a second time
also allowed me to notice black spaces in between the pieces of stained glass. I learned that these areas
of black space not only separate each part, but are also essential to the beauty of the window, and that
drawing images is as much about using space well as it is about detail. In an art history class I took
last year, I learned that there was a period of time where artists would use all available space on a
surface out of fear of

The History of Global Climate Change Essay
Earth has experienced many episodes of dramatic climate changes with different periods in earth
history. There have been periods during which the entire planet has been covered in ice and at another
time it has been scorchingly hot and dry. In this regards, earth has experienced at least three major
periods of long term frigid climate and ice ages interspersed with periods of warm climate. The last
glacial period which current glaciers are the result of it, occurring during the last years of Pleistocene,
from approximately 110,000 to 10,000 years age (Clayton, 1997). Indeed, glaciers present sensitive
indicators of climate change and global warming and by estimating and monitoring the dynamic
evolution of these ice masses, several ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Remote sensing has become a very valuable tool for documenting the response of glacier to changing
climate (Bamber and Kwok, 2003; Kuhn, 2007; Pellikka, 2007; Solomon et al, 2007) because the
rugged terrain, inaccessibility and legendary poor weather of glacier areas has resulted in relatively
few field based studies. Indeed, in order to use glaciers and their changes as indicators of climate
change, or as an early warning signal for sea level rise, remote sensing is the only tool to provide
glacier change information from all the continents and from a large number of glaciers and ice sheets.
On the other hands, because space borne and airborne remote sensing data provide superior cost
effective and area effective data and methods for monitoring the glaciers and their changes, part of this
monitoring can be carried out by it. Glacier topography is one of the most important parameter to
monitor as it is a key to glacier volume and glacier mass balance studies using the geodetic method.
Topography of glacier can be mapped using various data types such as terrestrial photography, aerial
photography, digital camera data, airborne radar data, satellite radar data (SAR), very high resolution
satellite imagery and laser scanner data. By means of interferometric processing DEM could be
retrieved by Synthetic aperture radar images with

A city disappearing in one night and never found ever since sounds suspicious. Where could this city

beyond the Pillars of Hercules the general area of the strait of Gibraltar . (nothing) The lost city has no
records of existence other than the dialogues described by Plato a philosopher. Timaeus and Critias

Atlantis is a city that was never found or even placed on a map but only mentioned in a book of a
philosopher. The city is nothing but a myth Atlantis is a fascinating legend, but archeologists have
never found any evidence for a city with this name. (Druitt and Francaviglia). Atlantis maybe one of
the greatest mysteries due to the fact it does not have any evidence of existence. If indeed a huge city

You can help your customers make a decision by introducing scarcity into the situation. This method
will also help you minimize the amount of time that you will spend pursuing potential buyers who
haven t decided about your service or product. However, your strategy of creating scarcity should not
violate laws and moral principles.
If you want to be successful, you need to incorporate these elements into your plans:
1. Limited Freedom People want what they can t have. If you will tell someone that a certain product
will soon become out of stock, he will have a greater desire to purchase it. You should create a
situation where you will inform your audience that the offer is available for a limited time only.
Inform them that they must act now to make the most of the opportunity or they will totally miss it.
This tactic works really well since most of us have encountered proposals similar to this, and they

Question 2: How would you characterize the leadership of Walmart founder Sam Walton?
The leadership of Walmart is Authentic Leadership which refers to individuals who know and
understand themselves, who espouse and act consistent with higher order ethical values, and who
empower and inspire others with their openness and authenticity. There are 5 key characteristics of
authentic leaders, which are: (i) Authentic leaders pursue their purpose with passion, (ii) Authentic

so. Indirectly, the leader became a role model to the worker in their work. Leaders have big
responsibility to be handling, by practicing the solid value, it will smooth the management.
Third characteristic is authentic leaders lead with their hearts as well their heads. All leaders
sometimes have to make tough choices, but authentic leaders maintain a compassion for others as well
as the courage to make difficult decisions. In Walmart, the newly minted manager got to work

Effects of Video Games on Children s Learning and Physical Health Just like any activity, there are
both positive and negative effects of children playing video games. However, the general notion is the
opposite, especially in regards to children s health. Additionally, learning environment and health are
the most important aspects of childhood. Playing video games can be helpful in classroom contexts to
aid in children s acquisition of concepts being taught. Video games can affect children s development
in terms of their cognition and physical well being. According to Annetta, Minogue, Holmes, and
Cheng (2009), the world of education has included video games as part of learning to make it more
entertaining and interesting to students. Gaming has helped to inspire many over the past few decades.
The effectiveness of video games as an educational tool is still not widely studied even though
literature on this topic is growing. As a result, the researchers studied participants levels of
engagement when playing with educational video games and their effectiveness on concept
understanding. Their research is crucial to this paper because it addresses the positive effects of video
games on children s learning process. The gaming application covers key genetic concepts that cater to
high school biology students. The study by Annetta et al. (2009) employed a posttest only design,
where the experimental group participants played a gaming application that covers key biology

How Western was Russia The question is not is not whether Russia was a western nation, it is to how
Western was Russia? This question has no set answer, it changes over time. Often times, throughout
history, situations change, often times change is made in order to perfect imperfect systems. Russia is
no different in this regard. Russia was less Westernized under the Mongols and the rule of the Ivan s
up through Ivan IV, but became more westernized under the rule of Peter I. Russia under the rule of

His accession to the throne appears to be a turning point. There appears to be a very small softening of
attitudes and the style of rule used in regards to governing Russia. He sought to make nobles do their
duty instead of merely leaching of the labor of serfs and of the state budget. Nobles were required to
work and be productive such as performing service in either the military or in the government.
Additionally Peter I also known as Peter the Great tried to gain the support of his people instead of
ruling through force alone. He did this by explaining the decisions he made. This does not result in a
participatory government but it does seek to remove the veil of secrecy that lingered over it. This was
a small step towards the style of certain Western Governments such as the United Kingdom where the
monarch was constrained by parliament. Albeit explanations did not allow popular participation in
government, it was progress. Progress does not come over night; it is often the product of small

We decided to keep movies in the dataset that were English and from the USA. We also wanted to
only include movies that were released in USA and abroad. The data we did not need was filtered out
and the data features that were not pre release were removed. When it came to predicting the
worldwide box office revenue, we wanted to use linear regression and SVM. This was because many
researchers had used these techniques. When using linear regression we realised that our data needed
transforming as the linear regression assumptions were violated. The Box Cox transform we used
transformed our dependent variables and worked well. The assumptions of the linear regression were
met. The forward selection procedure used helped identify which variables were good predictors in the
models. Linear regression has certain assumptions, so in order to not violate those assumptions, it is
crucial to pick the best variables for the model. The best model we found using this procedure met all
the assumptions and gave good prediction accuracies. The results obtained from the linear regression
and SVM models indicated that the accuracies all of the models were very high. Linear regression and
SVM achieved similar results with SVM just slightly achieving better accuracy rates As we were
predicting box office revenue using pre release data only, the accuracies of 80% plus were a good
surprise. Transforming the worldwide box office revenue

Mexican Sex Workers
1. The focus of the article is transgendered Mexican sex workers who travel back and forth between
Guadalajara, Mexico and San Francisco, and how they have adapted elements from the marginalized
saints such as Santisima Muerte, St. Jude, and the Virgin of Guadalupe from the Catholic faith for
protection from the homophobia, discrimination, and danger they faced in their daily lives.
2. The author used interviews from 29 transgendered sex workers from Guadalajara over two years in
both Mexico and San Francisco, as well as personal observation as methods of collecting data.
3. The concept of sexual migration is migration fully or partially fueled by the sexuality of those
migrating. Some may desire to continue a current relationship with a foreign national, or it may be just
to exploring new sexual desires, such as gender transformation. Others may be migrating to avoid
persecution, but I believe that the reason the people in the study were migrating is because they were
hoping for an environment that gives them more equality in society.

I may not have fully understood the gravity of the discrimination transgendered people face within

The 2012 Crash Of Convair N153jr Essay
The 2012 crash of Convair N153JR is a text book example of how human error and the absence of
crew resource management can result in the unnecessary loss of life. This accident involves a transport
company named Fresh Air Inc. that transported cargo between the Caribbean islands using vintage
1953 Convair aircraft. The co owner of the company, who was also the primary pilot, established and
nurtured an environment of relaxed rules and desultory aviation operations. The primary pilot
consistently flew the Convair aircraft outside its operational parameters by disabling key aircraft
systems needed for safe operations. Additionally, the captain filled Fresh Air with incompetent
personnel that could not maintain safe and airworthy operations. To further exacerbate an already
dangerous situation, assigned Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) inspectors were derelict in their
duties and performed only superficial inspections on the company. Numerous and serious violations
were overlooked by the inspectors and this removed the last remaining barrier for accident prevention.
The captain s insouciant approach to flying and company operations coupled with inept FAA oversight
directly led to the crash of Convair N153JR. Accident Overview On March 15th 2012 at 7:35 a.m.

Impact of Rhythm and Blues on African-American Culture Essay
Rhythm and blues, also known today as R B , has been one of the most influential genres of music
within the African American Culture, and has evolved over many decades in style and sound.
Emerging in the late 1940 s rhythm and blues, sometimes called jump blues, became dominant black
popular music during and after WWII. Rhythm and blues artists often sung about love, relationships,
life troubles, and sometimes focused on segregation and race struggles. Rhythm and blues helped
embody what was unique about black American culture and validate it as something distinctive and

From the 1950 s to the 1970 s rhythm and blues bands usually consisted of piano, guitars, drums
saxophone, bass, and were sometimes accompanied by background vocalists. New World
Encyclopedia (2008) states As rhythm and blues combined the elements of jazz, gospel music and the
blues, it thus created a very personalized form of melody and rhythm which has become known as one
of the outstanding styles of American music. From jazz and its combination of African black folk
music blended with European folk and pop music, rhythm and blues incorporated the syncopated beats
supported by colorful chordal combinations to mirror the emotions and experiences of the composer
and singer/musician. The term rhythm and blues has had several different meanings. In the early 1950
s it applied to blues records, in the late 1950 s it applied to electric blues along with gospel and soul, in
the 1960 s it was called soul music, and in the 1970 s it was a blanket term for soul, funk, and disco.
Much of the popular electric guitar led blues bands like Muddy Waters, Howlin Wolf, and BB King
that came from Memphis and Chicago were considered rhythm and blues since they appealed to the
older demographic. The broadcasting and recording industries did not solely represent the conquering
racial assumptions of the 1950 s, they internalized them and helped to continue them. Racial
conventions permeated the organization and structure of the music industry at every level. The very

Parallelism And The Femme Fatale
Film noir, though difficult to formally define, is a type of film whose elements of style, narrative, and
overall tone are most easily characterized by darkness both literal and metaphorical. This style first
appeared and had its heyday within American Cinema during the forties and fifties. The term itself
was first coined by French critics when, as Paul Schrader described, noticed the new mood of
cynicism, pessimism, and, darkness that had crept into the American cinema (Schrader, 265). Indeed,
films like Billy Wilder s Double Indemnity (1944) and Joseph H. Lewis Gun Crazy (1950) explored
themes of fatalism and nihilism (among others), all the while making use of stylistic expressionist
inspired lighting, stylized framing, use of shadows to enhance them. As dark as these films could be,
almost laughably so when viewed by audiences today, they were meant to communicate the very real
societal anxiety and disillusionment of a post World War Two America. One manifestation of these
fears is through the creation of the femme fatale or fatal woman. According to Jack Boozer, they are
meant to appear beautiful but also treacherous, criminally depraved and castrating in their desires
(Boozer, 21). The femme fatale did not first appear in noir, in fact she even appeared as far back as the
biblical figure Salome, however forties Hollywood defined the character (Barnes Smith, 3). Gary

What Is The Executive Branch Of Government
According to the US Constitution, a successful government, particularly a democracy, must have six
basic principals to function while keeping the people content and avoiding harsh dictatorship. These
can be simplified into two main beliefs. Firstly, that the hands of the people, a vast majority of the
people, hold the power of government. Secondly, that no one part or even all of the sections of
government may have complete rule in the country. Popular sovereignty allows the majority of people
to make decisions and change their country. This is very similar to the consent of the governed, which
defines itself and is also needed to avoid people government conflicts. Overall, the people must be

Instead, different parts, or what s called branches, of the government handle separate topics. In the US,
there is an executive branch, a judiciary branch, and a legislative branch. The executive branch is the
central power of the government, the judiciary branch tries cases of law before punishment is handed
(which is yet another principal of government), and the legislative branch creates and votes on laws.
And each of these branches may overrule another in certain situations. For example, the head of the

branch has enough votes, they can keep that law anyway. That is having what s called checks and

Anti Transcendentalism In The Scarlet Letter
The Scarlet Letter, written by Nathaniel Hawthorne in the 1800s, takes place in a New England
Puritan society in the 1600s. Hawthorne was an anti transcendentalist, the great nephew of John
Hathorne, who believed that all humans have an innate darkness within them. Hathorne was the only
judge who did not apologize for the Salem Witch Trials. The basis of anti transcendentalism also
included that the forest/nature is evil because that is where the devil lives, and that society was good
because it kept humans from giving in to their evil natures. Hawthorne uses symbolism, a literary
device that uses objects and people to stand for something outside themselves, throughout the book to
depict and explain many events. In his novel, The Scarlet Letter, ... Show more content on

Chillingworth and Dimmesdale were discussing herbs, and the conversation quickly took a turn. Soon,
they were talking about what happens to one s guilt when they die. For example, if weeds grow on a
grave, is it the guilt that has sprung up from the sinful heart? They also debated on reasons why a man
might hide his guilt, all hypothetical of course. The two men, hearing a child s laughter, stopped their
conversation to see who it was. Pearl and Hester were in the graveyard below. Pearl picked a handful
of burrs, which stand for guilt that connects Hester to Dimmesdale. Hawthorne explains, ... she
arranged them along the lines of the scarlet letter that decorated the maternal bosom... with a bright,
but naughty smile of mirth and intelligence, she threw one of the prickly burrs at the Reverend Mr.
Dimmesdale (Hawthorne 122). Through Pearl s act of sticking the burrs on her mother s scarlet letter
and throwing one at Dimmesdale, she is connecting him to the letter, essentially the same sin as Hester
s. The scarlet letter is the sin, and the burrs are the guilt tying Hester and Dimmesdale to one sin.
Right after Pearl threw the burr, Dimmesdale ducked away. Hawthorne writes, The sensitive
clergyman shrunk, with nervous dread, from the light missile. Detecting his emotion, Pearl clapped
her little hands in the most extravagant ecstacy... old Black Man will catch you! He hath got hold of
the minister already (Hawthorne 122). Dimmesdale had a chance to accept and admit his guilt, but he
shied away. Then, when Pearl says the devil had already got to the Reverend, she means that he is
lying. Overall, the burrs represent guilt, connecting Dimmesdale and Hester to the scarlet letter of

Introduction
Understanding of Holy Spirit To start our research, we need to ask a critical question at the very
beginning : Who is the Holy Spirit? The Bible teaches that the Holy Spirit is a person. Jesus never
referred to it when He was talking about the Holy Spirit. In John 14,15 and 16, for example, He spoke
of the Holy Spirit as He because He is not a force or thing but a person. The point is especially
important at a time when pantheistic tendencies are

The Water and Wastewater Crisis in Mexico City

Ironically enough, the waters once known as lake Texcoco, in which the city lays its foundation on

But how do you combat this crisis? One solution, installing low flow toilets could cut usage by 70
percent. (CIP) New York city in the mid 90 s was facing a similar water shortage. Facing a choice of a
billion dollar pumping station or low flow toilets, NY opted for the low flows. 1.33 million low flow
toilets later, water consumption per day drop 70 percent over an eight year span (91 99), with 70 90
million gallons saved a day!
A solution currently being employed is to fix leaks in the cities out dated water pipes. Anywhere from
27 40 percent of the cities water is lost through leaks, an estimated 1100 gallons could be saved a
second if these leak were. Other ideas currently in use or suggested include: Collecting rainfall,
Desalination, and drip irrigation. My favorite, drip irrigation would not only save 30 70 percent
compared with flood irrigation, but has been shown to increase crop yield 20 90 percent, talk about
killing two birds with one stone.
But really when it comes down to it the easiest and most logical way to cut the cities water demand of
7,750 gallons per second would be to teach people water conservation methods, recycle water more
effectively, and/or just stop polluting the current sources. Still it s easier said then done without the
proper funding this will never happen. While were on the money subject let me throw just one more
fun statistic at you, some 40 percent of water users either never receive water bills or simply refuse to
pay them.

Current Literature Regarding the History of Bullying Research
Adult bullying at work is shockingly common and very destructive. In an in depth analysis of 146
organizations worldwide, workplaces evidencing bullying on a relatively routine basis made up 44%
of the total analyzed. U.S. studies also suggest alarming prevalence rates. During any given 6 to 12
month period, up to 13 percent of workers are bullied on the job; this increases significantly when
counting those bullied anytime during their careers .These numbers translate to millions of workers:
According to the Bureau of Labor Statistics 136 million Americans were employed in July 2008. An
estimated 55 million Americans have been bullied at work using the 33% rate. This paper reviews the

A decade later, the topic surfaced in England In 1991, a freelance journalist named Andrea Adams,
brought the issue to public attention in Britain through a series of BBC radio posts; she labeled the
phenomenon bullying. As a result of Adams work and public concern, interest in and the study of
bullying intensified in the U.K. Although Scandinavia and the U.K. continue to lead in this area,
bullying and mobbing research now includes, among others, scholars and professionals in Japan,
Australia, and Canada.
In the United States the history of adult bullying research has been less straightforward. U.S.
psychiatrist Carroll Brodsky conducted one of the first studies of workplace harassment and
subsequently published The Harassed Worker . Despite the groundbreaking nature of his work, the
book stirred little interest at the time. Brodsky s research was revived in the early 1990s when interest
surged in England. Around this same time, the study of human aggression expanded to include
aggression at work, research that was centrally concerned with perpetrators. In the early 1990s,
nursing professor, Helen Cox, began studying verbal abuse in medical settings when it appeared to be
driving away gifted nursing students. Around the same time rare but highly visible occurrences of
workplace murder sparked a massive amount of research that extended into the next two. In the late
1990s research with a district focus that

My Brother s Gameboy Essay
As a child the things that meant the most to me were shiny, colorful, and utterly unattainable. From a

Unsure of what to do with myself now that I was not allowed to have the one thing I desired I found
my way to my room. Needing a place to think I rolled under my bed and let the emotions settle in.
Disappointment won out as the more overwhelming emotion and I began to plot a way to take what I
felt was rightfully mine. I soon realized that I had no real idea of how to enact my plan and became
more frustrated. I knew I needed a second opinion and intended to speak to Lucky when I realized that
in my fit of despair I had left him behind. I decided that a rescue mission was in order and climbed out
from under my bed. Sneaking through the house I reached my brother s room and was shocked to find
only Lucky there. I raced over lifting him from the bed and hugging him close knowing he was once
again safe. I turned to leave but right before I could I noticed a faint noise coming from within the
blankets. Lifting them I found true temptation. There sat Joey s GameBoy taunting me as I stared in
wonderment. It dawned on me that I could just go back to my room and find a different way to get the
chance to play but with no one in sight I decided that taking it now

Theodore Roosevelt New Nationalism
On August 31, 1910, former President Theodore Roosevelt visited Osawatomie, Kansas to give a
speech and participate in a memorial dedication. (Hennessy, 1910). Roosevelt had declined to run for
re election to the presidency in 1908, deciding to exit politics and go on a yearlong African safari
(Ellis, 2001, p. 284). Frustrated with President Taft s actions, Roosevelt reentered political life in 1910
(Mowry, 1939). In the Osawatomie address, Roosevelt introduced his idea for a New Nationalism.
Many of the speech s components became the bedrock of the Bull Moose campaign used by the
Progressive Party in the 1912 election (Spring, 1970). In the address, Roosevelt compares the struggle

Roosevelt felt President Taft was too conservative and pro business (Robinson, 2003). In reaction to
that, he met with Progressive leaders after returning from Africa and began plotting a political

address. I chose to focus on this excerpt because Roosevelt strays from the topic of income inequality
in the rest and proposes 17 other reforms. He covers education, foreign policy, and other political
issues as he continues speaking. These things would not have gotten adequate focus if I had attempted
to analyze the entire address. Roosevelt addressed a crowd of 30,000 people in Osawatomie on August

Man Cannot Live Without God
The question Can man live without God? is interesting because most people would argue that it
depends on worldview. However through a careful analysis of The Scarlet Letter and Ravi Zacharias
book Can Man Live Without God a definitive answer can be concluded. The depiction of God s role in
The Scarlet Letter, the antitheistic worldview described in Can Man Live Without God, and a look into
how God affects life today will provide more than satisfactory information to conclude that man
cannot live without God.
The Scarlet Letter is a brilliant novel depicting the life of Hester Prynne after having an affair with a
local reverend. Hester Prynne, at first ravenous and distraught in her jail cell, soon overcomes her
situation by finding peace in her daughter Pearl. Even though the rest of the city has shunned her,
Hester credits God for blessing her with a wonderful daughter from her sinful affair. However, every
coin has two sides. Hester s lover, and Pearl s father, Rev. Dimmesdale finds himself in an
increasingly worse situation. Dimmesdale, not having the same closure that Hester did in Pearl, begins

unknowingly seeking treatment from Hester s fiendish long lost husband, Roger Chillingworth.

I. Global Economic Organization WTO defined.
The World Trade Organization (WTO) is an international organization because of the benefits from the
mutually binding commitments. Countries join the international system and sign the international
trade agreement for the mutual benefit of all. This desire to work with other countries encourages the
country to sign the international agreement which regulates trade practices, and ultimately maintains
compliance with the policies of international trade. WTO was found in 1995, and took the place of the

Digital printing and 3D printing. It will go deeper into how each process works and how we get the

First, Screen printing is used to print on materials such as paper, fabric glass and even hard surfaces
such as metal most people use screen printing for signs labels and decals such as stamps (Printing

with than screen printing, because the next method does all the printing for you with the push of a

The second method is digital printing which is done by an ink jet printer or Xerography. When an
image is printed by an ink jet printer, it uses small drops of ink. They can print on paper, doors and
plastic materials. Digital printing is mostly used for promotional material such as posters, signs,
brochures and booklets. It is also used for short running printing such as books for photography and
digital based files such as PDF. Before you print you must format the document so you can have the
correct color and size of the graphic. This make the printing job much easier on you as graphic
designer. You should be calibrating your computer to match print color settings. The computer s colors
are vastly different from the printer settings so it is preferred that you print in CMYK colors. The ink

(The Importance of Labor and Labor unions 1800 1900) Prior to the American Civil War in 1861
much of American workforce was completed by slaves brought from Africa. Slave labor was used
mostly in southern agriculture. Working conditions for slaves were dismal at best with inadequate
housing, lack of food, resources and broken families. The quality of life for slaves was seldom taken
into account by slave owners as slaves were seen as property rather than people or employees. After
the Unions victory however the newly freed slaves desired to live on their own on their own land and

This was done under contract and both white and black land owners that participated in this form of

social change from this point forward made the most significant changes. In 1869, a labor union
known as the Knights of Labor sought to defend the common worker from poor compensation and to
improve working conditions for the working class. The idea was to literally hold the employer s
hostage by going on strike under protest until their demands had been met. During the 2nd industrial

The Elderly Population
In the beginning, when I began brainstorming about this competency I felt as if it was a demand need
for everyone to be aware about. I have seen individuals being decline of services for a variety of
reasons, and it makes earning those services harder when they aren t within personal reach. I
witnessed this during my placement, as well as my personal life. During my placement, I realized that
the elderly population still often have the chance to be denied for services, support and have their
rights being acknowledged. There are several things that I know about this competency while
interning at Lutheran Social Services. Oppression and discrimination happens in a range of ways and
sometimes it doesn t exactly present itself as those actions. Elderly still have a voice to advocate for
their needs, but sometimes I feel as if it can be taken less seriously compared to other populations.
Therefore, we have to engage in understanding what we have to do by taking action in a political
sense where we have to put others needs and advocate what we believe in for those to get proper rights
as well. Overall, if someone needs aren t being addressed, we must empower them to help serve them

Use of Stirling machine by use of free moving parts was motioned first of all in a British patent in
1876. In 1960, a free piston version of the Stirling engine was invented by W. T. Beale which reduces
lubrication issues.
It is the Stirling machine which converts thermal energy into electrical energy. Because of efficiency

The Ministry Of National Defense
The Ministry of National Defense in Seoul, South Korea operates a worldwide supply system, with the
vast majority of the items being managed by the Korean Defense Logistics Agency (KDLA). The
KDLA is a logistics combat support organization whose mission is to provide the best value logistics
and contract management support to America s Armed Forces around the world during both times of
peace and times of war. The KDLA had the third largest storage capacity of the top 15 distribution
warehouses and was a leader in MND s efforts to supply the military services. It supported
humanitarian relief efforts at home and abroad and provided logistics support to other federal
agencies. KDLA transformed its business approach in order to modernize their supply chain processes
and systems. This newly implemented process included order fulfillment, supply and demand
planning, material management, procurement and financial management process. However, the
agency didn t simply approach this change by using big data set analytics to develop a logistics supply
chain applications to grow or compete with private entities or other federal agencies. Instead they
continued to develop their service offerings in reaction to the needs driven by the customers. The
KDLA introduced its first complete Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) solution through the
Business Systems Modernization (BSM) Program, which was fully operational in 2007. BSM and
other complimentary systems now encompass the

State Farm Risk Register

State Farm Risk Register
State Farm has chosen to further to its already existing operations in Canada, with the result of
capturing millions of new customers. These customers will require both brick and mortar and
telephonic support. Brick and mortar locations number in the thousands and continue to grow. With
the acquisition of a greater number of customers, these locations will be able to absorb and support a
respectable number of these new customers. Yet internal analyses indicate that the younger customer
base, that is, customers in their 20s and 30s, prefer virtual or telephonic interactions and will actively
shun brick and mortar locations. It is these ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
If this event were to occur, State Farm would suffer extreme exposure, as every customer would be
somehow affected by such an event and would demand recompense, understandably so. Government
collapse would also affect call center and brick and mortar operations in the country, leaving
customers without recourse to file their claims.
This risk is an obvious threat and, certainly, poses a very high risk. Fortunately, the likelihood of such
an event happening is very low, since Canada s society has no history of collapse and is
governmentally well managed.
Still, in the event of such an event s occurrence, State Farm must have a mitigation strategy in place.
The primary focus of this strategy is to remain connected to the Canadian government, possibly
through lobbying efforts. Doing so could provide the company notice of impending government
issues. State Farm can also bolster its American division through premium increases and the institution
of greater policy limitations to bolster coffers to support meeting this Canadian risk.
Due to the likelihood of this event, annual monitoring would only be required.
Clearance for Call Center Construction
State Farm must receive the appropriate clearance from Canadian authorities to complete the
construction of the call center. Building codes are mandated by the local and national authorities to
verify undue pejorative influence on

John Locke And The Declaration Of The Rights Of Man
To enlighten is to give intellectual or spiritual light to someone. The Enlightenment period in Europe
in the 17th and 18th centuries was an intellectual movement that inspired thought, question, and
reason in people across the continent. It was the age of new ideals that forever altered the course of
our world today and will always be a time where tradition was no longer the primary way in which
people led their lives. Several Enlightenment thinkers such as Voltaire, Rousseau, and Hobbes have
influenced multiple government systems to reform their ways by inspiring revolution. Natural Rights
creates a democratic republic government where supreme power rests with the people and allows them
to elect representatives to operate their country, therefore upsetting citizens since absolute monarchies
rule. Natural Rights spawns uprisings and revolution in countries because people believe it to be their
right to have shared power which is evident through multiple documents such as The English Bill of
Rights, U.S. Constitution, and The Declaration of the Rights of Man.
John Locke s idea of Natural Rights created a whole new aspect of how the government should be
constructed. Natural Rights is the freedoms people are born with and should be protected by the
government, if not then the citizens have the right to overthrow the government since their rights are
not being preserved. This Enlightenment ideal is an important aspect in both today s world and during
revolutionary periods

Being a legend is not easy. That ever experienced by Jackie Robinson, the first black baseball player
in the American professional league, Major League Baseball in 1947. The modern era film 42 which
takes its title from Jackie jersey number when he played for the Brooklyn Dodgers club is directed by
Brian Helgeland.
This movie tells the story of discrimination suffered by Jackie Robinson (Chadwick Boseman) as the
first black player in the American professional league.
Since Germany and Japan were defeated in World War II, American soldiers returned home as heroes
who managed to eliminate racism. But in the United States alone it racism that is still rampant. Indeed,
blacks are no longer a slave, but their freedom is still very much when ... Show more content on

Several efforts have been made by Brian Helgeland always director and screenwriter to create a
character Jackie is not a person who s too perfect. Many ways, among others by writing the character
of Jackie as a figure of temperament or show some failures Jackie in a game. But again these things
are still too safe and not to make me feel the character of Jackie as someone who was more humane. I
did not know the figure of Jackie Robinson before watching this movie, but I am sure that all the
figures and inspiration powerful as any he must have a dark side that makes it not perfect. From the
plot also nothing special here. Everything flows in the direction that is predictable. But with all the
standard stuff and the option to play on the safe path is fortunately not make 42 into a boring
spectacle. At least Helgeland and the actors were able to make this film remains entertaining to watch.
Some dramatic moments shown although often feels cliche but I admit still able to give an injection of
emotion that makes the film more alive. Some conflicts are present talked about the racism that is so
thick and my mission for this movie to describe how bad racism is quite successful. I myself made so
annoyed at people who act in a racist on Jackie in this film and be able to strike a few moments though
again feels cliche. Beyond the cliché, but entertaining story, 42 also benefited from the success of the

The short story appears to follow Langston Hughes many feelings and emotions such as heartbreak, despair, sadness, hope, and loss. In this piece, most of the story centered around Langston at church and his surroundings as he was getting saved. On the other hand, Ken Noyle s A Grunt Prayer was a poem he wrote about his prayer from the war. I found the prayer to be very sad and inspirational. • 3. Evolution of Women in the Military The Evolution of Women in the Military Abstract Women are without doubt an integral part of the military services. It took the determination of women throughout history to pave the way for the 400,000, women that serve today. From the early years of the military to the present conflict in Afghanistan, women have made continuous progress towards equality. It is through their contributions that the military has evolved, consistently opening more jobs to women in combat. Time has proven that war does not discriminate; a successful military uses the strengths of all members despite their gender. The Evolution of Women in the Military Women in Military History Although not officially enlisted into the services, women have been a ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... The Navy and Marines were the first to enlist women ignoring red tape from congress. The Navy enlisted over 12,000 Yeomen and 1,500 nurses and the Marines enlisted over 300 women in the reserves as telephone operators and clerks. The Army unofficially enlisted over 21,000 nurses as contract workers and volunteers. The Army Signal Corp trained over 300 bilingual telephone operators and stenographers. At the end of the war, the military did not recognize women for their service or consider them Veterans. For example, the telephone operators left the military with little appreciation, receiving no ceremonies and no formal discharge or benefits. These women performed duties no less important than the men did and the mission would have failed without them, yet the military was able to dismiss them with no concern for their contributions. In 1979, the Army reviewed the women s service and determined that they performed duties as any other Soldier had. They gave them full recognition; unfortunately, for many it was too late, they passed away never receiving the title of Veteran. As women volunteered for service for a resistant military, compared to the many men that the government drafted it was clear the military did not appreciate their commitment, sacrifices and value the worth of women. This was evident by the Army Reorganization Act in 1920, which granted military nurses relative rank of an officer, not receiving the same pay, benefits, and privileges ... • 4. Reflection Of A Glass Window The object I chose to draw was a stained glass window depicting the thirteenth station of the cross, where the crucified Jesus is laid into the arms of His mother, Mary. This object is colorful and vivid, with the people in the window image portrayed in bright colors in contrast to the background. In addition, the people portrayed have precise naturalistic details and proportions regarding their clothing, bodies, and facial expressions. Through the exercise of drawing this stained glass window of the thirteenth station, I learned about proportionality, black space, and unification. I also learned how the Catholic faith can relate to these different aspects of drawing. I started drawing the border and outlines of the image; not the entire ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Otherwise, the entire image would not look right. I did not finish drawing the window because I wanted to place the parts proportionately so as to accurately portray the window as a whole. The window s detail did not serve as a priority in the drawing exercise because I believed the unity of its parts was central to making it look as accurate as possible. Additionally, I learned that the unification of the drawing s parts were necessary in drawing the window. It can be said in the spiritual life that Jesus makes our brokenness whole and creates beauty out of it, much like how the beauty of stained glass window only makes sense as a unified whole. I took some time in the beginning of the drawing exercise to examine the window for a second time, which allowed me to see that these pieces only made sense together. Yes, the pieces of stained glass are pretty by themselves, but they only form the image of the thirteenth station when together. Examining the stained glass window for a second time also allowed me to notice black spaces in between the pieces of stained glass. I learned that these areas of black space not only separate each part, but are also essential to the beauty of the window, and that drawing images is as much about using space well as it is about detail. In an art history class I took last year, I learned that there was a period of time where artists would use all available space on a surface out of fear of ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 5. The History of Global Climate Change Essay Earth has experienced many episodes of dramatic climate changes with different periods in earth history. There have been periods during which the entire planet has been covered in ice and at another time it has been scorchingly hot and dry. In this regards, earth has experienced at least three major periods of long term frigid climate and ice ages interspersed with periods of warm climate. The last glacial period which current glaciers are the result of it, occurring during the last years of Pleistocene, from approximately 110,000 to 10,000 years age (Clayton, 1997). Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Remote sensing has become a very valuable tool for documenting the response of glacier to changing climate (Bamber and Kwok, 2003; Kuhn, 2007; Pellikka, 2007; Solomon et al, 2007) because the rugged terrain, inaccessibility and legendary poor weather of glacier areas has resulted in relatively few field based studies. Indeed, in order to use glaciers and their changes as indicators of climate change, or as an early warning signal for sea level rise, remote sensing is the only tool to provide glacier change information from all the continents and from a large number of glaciers and ice sheets. On the other hands, because space borne and airborne remote sensing data provide superior cost effective and area effective data and methods for monitoring the glaciers and their changes, part of this monitoring can be carried out by it. Glacier topography is one of the most important parameter to monitor as it is a key to glacier volume and glacier mass balance studies using the geodetic method. Topography of glacier can be mapped using various data types such as terrestrial photography, aerial photography, digital camera data, airborne radar data, satellite radar data (SAR), very high resolution satellite imagery and laser scanner data. Effects of Video Games on Children s Learning and Physical Health Just like any activity, there are both positive and negative effects of children playing video games. However, the general notion is the opposite, especially in regards to children s health. Additionally, learning environment and health are the most important aspects of childhood. Playing video games can be helpful in classroom contexts to aid in children s acquisition of concepts being taught. Video games can affect children s development in terms of their cognition and physical well being. According to Annetta, Minogue, Holmes, and Cheng (2009), the world of education has included video games as part of learning to make it more entertaining and interesting to students. Gaming has helped to inspire many over the past few decades. The effectiveness of video games as an educational tool is still not widely studied even though literature on this topic is growing. As a result, the researchers studied participants levels of engagement when playing with educational video games and their effectiveness on concept understanding. When using linear regression we realised that our data needed transforming as the linear regression assumptions were violated. The Box Cox transform we used transformed our dependent variables and worked well. The assumptions of the linear regression were met. The forward selection procedure used helped identify which variables were good predictors in the models. Linear regression has certain assumptions, so in order to not violate those assumptions, it is crucial to pick the best variables for the model. The best model we found using this procedure met all the assumptions and gave good prediction accuracies. The results obtained from the linear regression and SVM models indicated that the accuracies all of the models were very high. • 17. The 2012 Crash Of Convair N153jr Essay The 2012 crash of Convair N153JR is a text book example of how human error and the absence of crew resource management can result in the unnecessary loss of life. This accident involves a transport company named Fresh Air Inc. that transported cargo between the Caribbean islands using vintage 1953 Convair aircraft. The co owner of the company, who was also the primary pilot, established and nurtured an environment of relaxed rules and desultory aviation operations. The primary pilot consistently flew the Convair aircraft outside its operational parameters by disabling key aircraft systems needed for safe operations. Additionally, the captain filled Fresh Air with incompetent personnel that could not maintain safe and airworthy operations. To further exacerbate an already dangerous situation, assigned Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) inspectors were derelict in their duties and performed only superficial inspections on the company. Numerous and serious violations were overlooked by the inspectors and this removed the last remaining barrier for accident prevention. The captain s insouciant approach to flying and company operations coupled with inept FAA oversight directly led to the crash of Convair N153JR. Accident Overview On March 15th 2012 at 7:35 a.m. Atlantic Standard Time (AST), a Convair 440 38 aircraft, identification number N153JR, lifted off from runway 10 at Luis Muñoz Marín International Airport, San Juan, Puerto Rico. Impact of Rhythm and Blues on African-American Culture Essay Rhythm and blues, also known today as R B , has been one of the most influential genres of music within the African American Culture, and has evolved over many decades in style and sound. Emerging in the late 1940 s rhythm and blues, sometimes called jump blues, became dominant black popular music during and after WWII. Rhythm and blues artists often sung about love, relationships, life troubles, and sometimes focused on segregation and race struggles. Rhythm and blues helped embody what was unique about black American culture and validate it as something distinctive and valuable. From the 1950 s to the 1970 s rhythm and blues bands usually consisted of piano, guitars, drums saxophone, bass, and were sometimes accompanied by background vocalists. New World Encyclopedia (2008) states As rhythm and blues combined the elements of jazz, gospel music and the blues, it thus created a very personalized form of melody and rhythm which has become known as one of the outstanding styles of American music. From jazz and its combination of African black folk music blended with European folk and pop music, rhythm and blues incorporated the syncopated beats supported by colorful chordal combinations to mirror the emotions and experiences of the composer and singer/musician. The term rhythm and blues has had several different meanings. In the early 1950 s it applied to blues records, in the late 1950 s it applied to electric blues along with gospel and soul, in the 1960 s it was called soul music, and in the 1970 s it was a blanket term for soul, funk, and disco. Much of the popular electric guitar led blues bands like Muddy Waters, Howlin Wolf, and BB King that came from Memphis and Chicago were considered rhythm and blues since they appealed to the older demographic. The broadcasting and recording industries did not solely represent the conquering racial assumptions of the 1950 s, they internalized them and helped to continue them. Racial conventions permeated the organization and structure of the music industry at every level. The very existence ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 22. Parallelism And The Femme Fatale Film noir, though difficult to formally define, is a type of film whose elements of style, narrative, and overall tone are most easily characterized by darkness both literal and metaphorical. This style first appeared and had its heyday within American Cinema during the forties and fifties. The term itself was first coined by French critics when, as Paul Schrader described, noticed the new mood of cynicism, pessimism, and, darkness that had crept into the American cinema (Schrader, 265). Indeed, films like Billy Wilder s Double Indemnity (1944) and Joseph H. Lewis Gun Crazy (1950) explored themes of fatalism and nihilism (among others), all the while making use of stylistic expressionist inspired lighting, stylized framing, use of shadows to enhance them. As dark as these films could be, almost laughably so when viewed by audiences today, they were meant to communicate the very real societal anxiety and disillusionment of a post World War Two America. One manifestation of these fears is through the creation of the femme fatale or fatal woman. According to Jack Boozer, they are meant to appear beautiful but also treacherous, criminally depraved and castrating in their desires (Boozer, 21). The femme fatale did not first appear in noir, in fact she even appeared as far back as the biblical figure Salome, however forties Hollywood defined the character (Barnes Smith, 3). • 27. Anti Transcendentalism In The Scarlet Letter The Scarlet Letter, written by Nathaniel Hawthorne in the 1800s, takes place in a New England Puritan society in the 1600s. Hawthorne was an anti transcendentalist, the great nephew of John Hathorne, who believed that all humans have an innate darkness within them. Hathorne was the only judge who did not apologize for the Salem Witch Trials. The basis of anti transcendentalism also included that the forest/nature is evil because that is where the devil lives, and that society was good because it kept humans from giving in to their evil natures. Hawthorne uses symbolism, a literary device that uses objects and people to stand for something outside themselves, throughout the book to depict and explain many events. Pearl and Hester were in the graveyard below. Pearl picked a handful of burrs, which stand for guilt that connects Hester to Dimmesdale. Hawthorne explains, ... she arranged them along the lines of the scarlet letter that decorated the maternal bosom... with a bright, but naughty smile of mirth and intelligence, she threw one of the prickly burrs at the Reverend Mr. Dimmesdale (Hawthorne 122). Through Pearl s act of sticking the burrs on her mother s scarlet letter and throwing one at Dimmesdale, she is connecting him to the letter, essentially the same sin as Hester s. The scarlet letter is the sin, and the burrs are the guilt tying Hester and Dimmesdale to one sin. Right after Pearl threw the burr, Dimmesdale ducked away. Therefore, we have to engage in understanding what we have to do by taking action in a political sense where we have to put others needs and advocate what we believe in for those to get proper rights as well. Overall, if someone needs aren t being addressed, we must empower them to help serve them to give them justice as well. In my activities I have participated in different ways of seeing how this relates to my placement throughout my two semesters through my reflection logs. In my Reflection Log during January I went to a CARTS discussion where it gave us information about their services ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 40. Sputnik Essay Past: In 2 years of launch of Sputnik by Soviet, US considered use of Stirling machine in space missions. By then Radioisotope Power Systems, in the form of Radioisotope Thermoelectric Generators (RTG), have been used successfully on many NASA missions including Apollo, Viking, Voyager, and Galileo. Free piston Stirling generator: Use of Stirling machine by use of free moving parts was motioned first of all in a British patent in 1876. In 1960, a free piston version of the Stirling engine was invented by W. T. Beale which reduces lubrication issues. It is the Stirling machine which converts thermal energy into electrical energy. Because of efficiency increase due to RTG, research about feasibility of this engine s use in space and planetary ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... • 41. The Ministry Of National Defense The Ministry of National Defense in Seoul, South Korea operates a worldwide supply system, with the vast majority of the items being managed by the Korean Defense Logistics Agency (KDLA). The KDLA is a logistics combat support organization whose mission is to provide the best value logistics and contract management support to America s Armed Forces around the world during both times of peace and times of war. The KDLA had the third largest storage capacity of the top 15 distribution warehouses and was a leader in MND s efforts to supply the military services. It supported humanitarian relief efforts at home and abroad and provided logistics support to other federal agencies. KDLA transformed its business approach in order to modernize their supply chain processes and systems. This newly implemented process included order fulfillment, supply and demand planning, material management, procurement and financial management process. However, the agency didn t simply approach this change by using big data set analytics to develop a logistics supply chain applications to grow or compete with private entities or other federal agencies. Instead they continued to develop their service offerings in reaction to the needs driven by the customers. The KDLA introduced its first complete Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) solution through the Business Systems Modernization (BSM) Program, which was fully operational in 2007. BSM and other complimentary systems now encompass the ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Wgu Risk Management Risk-Register Report Essay State Farm Risk Register Xavier Smith Western Governors University State Farm Risk Register State Farm has chosen to further to its already existing operations in Canada, with the result of capturing millions of new customers. These customers will require both brick and mortar and telephonic support. Brick and mortar locations number in the thousands and continue to grow. With the acquisition of a greater number of customers, these locations will be able to absorb and support a respectable number of these new customers. Yet internal analyses indicate that the younger customer base, that is, customers in their 20s and 30s, prefer virtual or telephonic interactions and will actively shun brick and mortar locations. It is these ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... If this event were to occur, State Farm would suffer extreme exposure, as every customer would be somehow affected by such an event and would demand recompense, understandably so. Government collapse would also affect call center and brick and mortar operations in the country, leaving customers without recourse to file their claims. This risk is an obvious threat and, certainly, poses a very high risk. Fortunately, the likelihood of such an event happening is very low, since Canada s society has no history of collapse and is governmentally well managed. Still, in the event of such an event s occurrence, State Farm must have a mitigation strategy in place. The primary focus of this strategy is to remain connected to the Canadian government, possibly through lobbying efforts. Doing so could provide the company notice of impending government issues. State Farm can also bolster its American division through premium increases and the institution of greater policy limitations to bolster coffers to support meeting this Canadian risk. Due to the likelihood of this event, annual monitoring would only be required. Clearance for Call Center Construction State Farm must receive the appropriate clearance from Canadian authorities to complete the construction of the call center. Building codes are mandated by the local and national authorities to verify undue pejorative influence on ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 43. John Locke And The Declaration Of The Rights Of Man To enlighten is to give intellectual or spiritual light to someone. The Enlightenment period in Europe in the 17th and 18th centuries was an intellectual movement that inspired thought, question, and reason in people across the continent. It was the age of new ideals that forever altered the course of our world today and will always be a time where tradition was no longer the primary way in which people led their lives. Several Enlightenment thinkers such as Voltaire, Rousseau, and Hobbes have influenced multiple government systems to reform their ways by inspiring revolution. Natural Rights creates a democratic republic government where supreme power rests with the people and allows them to elect representatives to operate their country, therefore upsetting citizens since absolute monarchies rule. Natural Rights spawns uprisings and revolution in countries because people believe it to be their right to have shared power which is evident through multiple documents such as The English Bill of Rights, U.S. Constitution, and The Declaration of the Rights of Man. John Locke s idea of Natural Rights created a whole new aspect of how the government should be constructed. Natural Rights is the freedoms people are born with and should be protected by the government, if not then the citizens have the right to overthrow the government since their rights are not being preserved. This Enlightenment ideal is an important aspect in both today s world and during revolutionary periods ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

The modern era film 42 which takes its title from Jackie jersey number when he played for the Brooklyn Dodgers club is directed by Brian Helgeland. This movie tells the story of discrimination suffered by Jackie Robinson (Chadwick Boseman) as the first black player in the American professional league. Since Germany and Japan were defeated in World War II, American soldiers returned home as heroes who managed to eliminate racism. But in the United States alone it racism that is still rampant. Indeed, blacks are no longer a slave, but their freedom is still very much when ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Several efforts have been made by Brian Helgeland always director and screenwriter to create a character Jackie is not a person who s too perfect. Many ways, among others by writing the character of Jackie as a figure of temperament or show some failures Jackie in a game. But again these things are still too safe and not to make me feel the character of Jackie as someone who was more humane. I did not know the figure of Jackie Robinson before watching this movie, but I am sure that all the figures and inspiration powerful as any he must have a dark side that makes it not perfect. From the plot also nothing special here. Everything flows in the direction that is predictable. But with all the standard stuff and the option to play on the safe path is fortunately not make 42 into a boring spectacle. At least Helgeland and the actors were able to make this film remains entertaining to watch. Some dramatic moments shown although often feels cliche but I admit still able to give an injection of emotion that makes the film more alive. Some conflicts are present talked about the racism that is so thick and my mission for this movie to describe how bad racism is quite successful. I myself made so annoyed at people who act in a racist on Jackie in this film and be able to strike a few moments though again feels cliche. Beyond the cliché, but entertaining story, 42 also benefited from the success of the ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
