Job Satisfaction Is Defined As The Positive Feeling Felt...
Job Satisfaction
Job Satisfaction is defined as the positive feeling felt by an individual about a job which results
from and evaluation of the job s characteristics (Robbins Judge, 2013). With an understanding of
job satisfaction we will look at and describe the issues of three individuals and their three different
jobs. Describing their job satisfactions, dislikes, and how all this relates to their performances on
the job.
The three different jobs that are presented for consideration of job satisfaction are an accountant
position where Maria works, a Quality Control Manager for an insurance company, and this is
where Darell works, and finally we have a Retail Store Manager for an outdoor company where
Mike works. All three of these jobs have characteristics that can contribute to increased levels of
job satisfaction. All three of these jobs offer plenty of hours of work. This can lead to job stability
and increase the affective commitment that a person might have toward a job (Milligan, 2014).
Maria s job as an accountant gives her job satisfaction because she has intellectual abilities that
allow her to do mental thinking and reasoning. It could also be presumed that the Quality Control
Manager and the Retail Store Manager have the same intellectual abilities. For the Quality Control
Manager position the opportunity to travel all over the United States could produce job satisfaction.
Finally the position of the retail manager that Mike possesses gives job satisfaction

Christ And The Holy Spirit. Introduction. This Week We
CHRIST AND THE HOLY SPIRIT
INTRODUCTION
This week we studied Pneumatology, the doctrine of the Holy Spirit. It was an opportunity to learn
about this unsung hero of the Trinity who, though ever present with us, we seldom mention or
think of and often do not give the respect he merits. In this paper, we will address the relationship
between the Holy Spirit and Jesus resurrection and ascension and how the Holy Spirit is involved
in those events. We will also examine the Holy Spirit s work of regeneration and its impact on
believers in the church.
SUMMARY
When Jesus ascended into heaven, he sent the Holy Spirit to the church. (Lecture 3). He was
returning to the Father, and he left the Holy Spirit here to help all humanity. While Jesus... Show

Through the Holy Spirit, Jesus remains the shepherd king for all creation. And it s not only the
Holy Spirit who is with everyone but the Father as well. In John 14:23 we hear, Jesus answered,
Whoever loves me will keep my word. My Father will love them, and we will come to them and
make our home with them. (CEB, emphasis added). This opportunity for Trinitarian indwelling is
the reason Jesus told his disciples it would be to their advantage for him to go away. (John 16:7).
(Morrison, 2007).
REGENERATIVE WORK The Holy Spirit gives life. It was he who breathed life into God s
creation and the beginning of time. He raised Jesus from the dead. He brings humanity
regeneration by causing the hearts of man to have faith in Jesus. (Lecture 3). There are Biblical
reference to this changed heart in Matthew 19:8, John 3:3, 5 7 and Titus 3:5. Regeneration is
new birth. It is the Holy Spirit s working within a person to change their sinful heart so that they
can respond to God. (Bird, 2013). Regeneration/new birth through the Holy Spirit is referenced
in Genesis 2:7 and John 20:22. In both verses, the spirit that is inhaled is not completely exhaled
but rather remains in the body to give new life to the recipient. (Weissenrieder, 2014, p. 60).
Perhaps Jesus breathing on the disciples is the answer to Nicodemus question as to how one can
be born again after growing old! (Weissenrieder, 2014). The regeneration a person receives from the
Holy Spirit is a new birth.

Chemical Processes And Its Effects On The Industrial Age
In order to power the industrial age, humans have burned gigantic amounts of coal to produce any
form of power. Coal naturally contains high amounts of sulphur and burning of coal produces huge
amounts of heat and the sulphur present in the coal combines with the atmospheric oxygen to
produce Sulphur Dioxide. The smoke stacks of a power plant throw out all the waste gases into the
atmosphere which contains huge amounts of Sulphur Dioxide. It is said that thermal power plants
are the largest contributor of Sulphur Dioxide into the atmosphere. It is estimated that more than
half of the total amount of Sulphur Dioxide generated in the atmosphere comes directly from
thermal power plants that run on coal.
Another anthropological source of Sulphur Dioxide gas as a pollutant is from paper production.
The paper mills that produce pulp wood through a chemical process, normally combust their spent
pulping liquor in a combustion unit. The most widely used chemical processes are Kraft Pulping
process, Sulphite Pulping and Neutral Sulphite Semi Chemical Pulping (NSSC Pulping). Among
these, Kraft Pulping process is the most widely used process as it can be used to make strong and
durable paper products. This process consists of digestion of wood, or any other cellulite substance
in a solution of sodium sulphite and sodium hydroxide, the waste products of which produce
harmful pollutants including sulphur compounds. Sulphite Pulping and NSSC Pulping produce
paper for the printing industry

The Treatment Of Women In Othello
In Act 2 we see that Desdemona, Iago, Emilia and Roderigo are the first ship that were seen after
the storm hit and caused most of the Turkish fleet of ships not to survive. While waiting for any
news of Othello s ship, Cassio and Desdemona start to tease Emilia about being a chatterbox,
while being playful with Emilia Iago quickly takes this opportunity to start criticizing women in
general as being deceptive and hypocritical as he can. He starts saying that they are lazy in all
matters except sex we can see this when he says You rise to play and go to bed to work . What
this means is that he sees women as sex subjects that can only do one thing and that is to give
pleasure to their men. Desdemona tries to help Emilia from her husbands words

Zimbabwe Research Paper
Robert Mugabe spent ten years in prison before assuming the presidency of Zimbabwe. Instead of
learning from his time in prison, he brought all his poor habits of corruption to the country of
Zimbabwe ( Zimbabwe s 1). During his powerful rule, Zimbabwe faced many different situations
within his country. Within the first few years of Mugabe being president, Zimbabwestarted to have
some political and economical issues. Whether or not the issues are a direct correlation to Mugabe
being president is unknown, but the timing is impeccable. Money was starting to disappear within
the government causing an economic crisis, and Zimbabwe was having massive poverty and

It is in fact the the third most corrupt country in Africa. Corruption has increased in Zimbabwe forty
three percent from 2002 to 2012. All signs of corruption in Africa, especially in Zimbabwe led back
to the government and President Mugabe. The unethical ways of political officials in Zimbabwe
influenced other countries in Africa. The Anti Corruption Trust in South Africa found that traffic
police in Zimbabwe accumulated wealth which was not justifiable due to their salaries (Mathuthu 1,
2, 3). Robert Mugabe has been known for paying off people in contract settlements and brides (
Govt 1, 2, 3). Now a correlation is beginning to be found between the actions of Mugabe and the
rest of Africa. Nearly 75 million people in Africa have been estimated to have paid someone a
bride within the last year. As a region totaling in twenty eight governments eighteen out of these are
completely insufficient to address the issues within their countries corruption ( 75 1, 2). Since
Mugabe gained power in 1987, his actions have been very destructive for the rest of the region.

Prostate Cancer Research Paper
Prostate cancer is considered as the most commonly diagnosed cancer in men, in the U. S and
most cases of prostate cancer have a good prognosis. Some of these cases can be aggressive and the
death rate is assessed to be 2.8%. The Prostate specific antigen (PSA) test is used for screening for
prostate cancer, to aid early detection and treatment.
Prostate specific antigen (PSA) test Prostate specific antigen (PSA) is a protein produced by the
prostate gland, found in the blood. Blood sample is utilized to check PSA levels and Lab results
are reported in nanograms of PSA per milliliter (ng/mL) of blood. 4 ng/mL is considered to be the
normal level of PSA. Levels of PSA in the blood may be elevated in patients who have prostate ...

Although PSA Screening tests can facilitate to detect prostate cancer in its early stage, there is
controversy and concern about patient being unnecessarily treated and over diagnosed. The
reliability of prostate specific antigen (PSA) testing is very poor. PSA values could be false
positive caused by conditions such as benign prostatic hyperplasia, ejaculation, perineal trauma
and PSA value cannot be used to rule out prostate cancer. PSA screening misses a considerable
number of patients with PCa (false negatives) and wrongly suspects or false positives (Hayat,
Nordin and Berglund, 2013). Sensitivity of the test is determined with the percentage of people
tested with the disease that had positive results equals the number of patients that were true
positive. The cut off range for an abnormal PSA screening is 4.0 ng/mL. The American Cancer
Society estimated that, the sensitivity of a PSA levels cutoff of 4.0 ng/mL, was twenty one percent
for detecting any prostate cancer and fifty one percent for detecting high grade cancers (Gleason
≥8). Validity of the test can be determined by the ability of its screening to accurately identify, if
the patient has the disease or not. With PSA screening alone, one cannot validate if the patient has
prostate cancer and other diagnostic tests such as digital rectal exam

Country Music Analysis
Music will never stop evolving into various styles and sub genres, but over the last 30 years
country music has taken snowballed into a clash of old school country and pop styles. After the
third generation of country music grew past the honky tonk, consisting of a very basic ensemble of
guitar, bass, and vocals, a change was needed to revive the country musicindustry. Artists had to
create new styles of country, such as Countrypolitan, which aimed towards the mainstream pop
markets. Despite changes in time differences, style, and technological advances, there are parallels
between the songs at the top of the billboards between each generation, the love for the United
States of America. The United States has thrived off of patriotic music... Show more content on

However, separate from other styles of country music, a piano is present for each one of these
songs, pulling in a softer touch to add heart to the songs. In addition to the piano, Lee
Greenwood includes a violin and group of female background singers, escalating the schmaltz in
the performance of the song. Not only did this song top the US Billboard Country songs, but
made appearances in movie You ve got a Good Love Comin, and was played a t the 1984
Republican national Convention with president Reagan in audience. The song reappeared twice
after the attacks on 9/11, re releasing as a single to boost the much needed morale, and after
Osama bin Laden was killed. The spark of nationalism was noticed by R B pop star Beyonce,
who released a single cover of the song after the bin Laden takedown. Waylon Jennings did not
receive nearly as much publicity after the release of his single The Eagle, however it did make an
appearance as 9th on US Billboard Top Country Albums. Toby Keith has the honor of performing
songs like American Soldier to troops on USO tours after the song spent weeks as number one on

Hunt Companies, Inc. ( Hci )
Hunt Companies, Inc. (HCI) is a general contractor. HCI has been building and remodeling fast
food restaurants for the past 30 years. Two years ago, HCI added a residential division.
Residential construction is very different than commercial, in that clients are more finicky and
change their minds more frequently, leading to a lot of re work and punch list issues. At the end
of each project, the project manager walks through the jobsite with the customer to make sure
everything is done according to the customer s desires and nothing is missing/ wrong/ unfinished.
Any items that the customer claims must be done before the project is truly complete go into the
punch list. The crew goes back to the site and addresses all the items on the list, at which point
we consider the job 100% done. Since the crew at HCI has been focused on commercial projects
up until recently, they tend to often cut corners and get away with not following the specifications
to a T . This has become a problem in the residential business, directly affecting the residential
division profitability. When workers have to go back to fix things that should have been done
correctly in the first place, it costs the company their time and the extra materials needed. Moreover,
customers are disappointed to find problems in the project, which decreases goodwill and HCI s
ability to build strong customer relationships. As there are many steps in a construction project, for
simplicity, rather than examining the

vertically oriented and I am aware that some magazines like both. However, I am sure the

Indications For Liver Biopsy And Histological Assessment...
INDICATIONS FOR LIVER BIOPSY
Liver biopsy and histological assessment of the liver has now taken on an important role in clinical
management. Therefore liver biopsy currently has two major roles:
(A) Diagnostic purposes:Liver biopsy is helpful in diagnosis of many forms of liver disease such
as acute and chronic hepatitis (Wilson disease, alpha 1 antitrypsin disease, glycogen storage
diseases, AIH, NiemannPick disease and others), cholestatic disorders, fatty liver disease, vascular
diseases, infiltrative or storage diseases, some infectious diseases, and other disorders that may
be associated with characteristic histological abnormalities. It also plays a role in the diagnosis of
patients with abnormal liver tests of unknown etiology (Czaja et al., 2007). (B) Liver biopsy in
the assessment of known liver disease: Liver histology is also commonly used in disease
monitoring of patients with AIH. First, the portal based plasma cell infiltrate may predict relapse
and second, liver biopsy is often obtained prior to steroid dose reduction and/or discontinuation of
immunosuppressive therapy (Rockey et al., 2009). 1 Neonatal Cholestasis Some forms of neonatal
cholestasis can be identified biochemically and genetically, but others require LB.
Biliary atresia (BA): Typically neonates with BA have acholic stools, firm livers, and abnormal
values for biochemical markers of hepatobiliary injury. Histopathologic evaluation permits
diagnosis of BA in 96% of adequate LB

Mesovortex Synthesis
Potential connections exist between total lightning and mesovortex formation, which is the parent
circulation from which QLCS tornadoes are born. Many studies have found that
mesovortexgenesis is initiated at low levels by tilting, in downdrafts, of crosswise baroclinic
horizontal vorticity (Trapp and Weisman 2003 Part II, Wheatley and Trapp 2008, Atkins and St.
Laurent 2009 Part II). Additional studies have found that strong low level updraft is critical in
converging and amplifying vertical vorticity associated with the mesovortex (Schenkman et al.
2012, Atkins and St. Laurent 2009). Trapp and Weisman (2003 Part I) also found that the amount of
windshear had large implications on mesovortexgenesis. As wind shear increased in both magnitude

The total lightning information can give important insight to the updraft and downdraft processes
within the QLCS. The region with the largest lightning flash rates is related to a stronger mid level
updraft, and a lightning jump (or multiple lightning jumps) occur in response to a rapid
intensification of updraft strength. This mid level updraft can assist in mesovortexgenesis in two
ways. First, if a low level mesovortex is present in the presence of strong vertical wind shear, this
strong mid level updraft could potentially act to stretch the vertical vorticity, thereby strengthening
the mesovortex. Secondly, this strong mid level updraft can ultimately produce more and larger
precipitation, which in turn contributes

Trauma In The Novel The Suspect By L. R.
How Trauma Can Affect Lives
Many individuals have flashbacks after experiencing trauma. Survivors of such horrible traumas
sometimes can act out in violence, after something triggers them to remember the ordeal. The novel
The Suspect by L.R. Wright, offers a realistic account of what goes on in the mind of an individual
who has committed murder. Throughout the novel, I made connections to many real life examples
of how trauma has affected the lives of criminals and their victims, through either alcohol or
mental illness. Individuals affected by this sort of trauma can seek medical or social help in order
to be able to learn how to cope with daily living.
L.R. Wright starts the novel The Suspect, by talking about how the main character George
Wilcox killed his ex brother in law Carlyle Burke in the isolated little community of Sechelt,
British Columbia. Wright described the scene of how George killed Carlyle. As George was
trying to leave, Carlyle did not like the idea that George was leaving, and was telling him he

Human Nature In Gilgamesh
In the Epic of Gilgamesh, Gilgamesh was mostly divine but shared minimal characteristics of a god.
Such characteristics were bold physical structures and the strength of a wild bull which he inherited

the burden of the flawed human nature that we all carry such as being aggressive, competitive, and
running away from our fears.

but a want. It s just the nature of human to not be satisfied with anything that we have.
Something deep inside us always desires for more. Gilgamesh was the king of Uruk, instead of
creating the reputation of a kind, considerate, generous king, he decided to slay a tremendous
monster and tried to impress others instead. It s the most common mistake that we humans
always make. We tend to be so busy impressing others and striving for their cheers with such
frequency, that we forget to be ourselves and think before we act.We often feel self conscious and
inferior to ourselves after we experience failure, which we fail to tolerate. Impressing others and
having the ought to be seen in a positive perspective is what makes us compete against one another
which might not always be morally right. Sometimes it s better to be the best together rather than
ruining relationships due to the consequence of proving to the world that you re finessed.
Gilgamesh harassing young girls and women of his kingdom implies that it s also an aspect of the
human nature to be aggressive and compel others to do something for their favor. Although we are

Albania In Shirley Jackson s The Lottery
While reading The Lotter by Shirley Jackson, I starting thinking a lot about my country, Albania.
Jackson starts by describing a beautiful place with kids playing around joyfully (242). This
reminded me of my early childhood. Later on the reading their tradition of having the lottery every
year brought to my mind all the different traditions that we hold every year in my country.
Unfortunately my happy thoughts didn t last for long when I finished my reading. The terrible truth
about why the lotteryactually took place reminded me of a horrible tradition that my country had
until couple decades ago. It was called an eye for an eye and a tooth for a tooth , and it was
passed generation after generation. What that meant was that if you accidently or intentionally
killed someone, his family would either kill you or another family member of yours. This makes
me wonder: Should we really follow all the traditions blindly?... Show more content on

Plattsburgh Observation
For my observation I went to Medusa Comics Cards in Plattsburgh and participated in a Magic:

seven other participants all being male. Draft is an MTG format where each participant gets
three booster packs, and take turns picking a card from each of the packs as they rotate around
the table, keeping the cards they pick. At the time there was also a Yu Gi Oh tournament going on

The reason for their warmth might be in their reason for going to the draft, which was to have
some fun matches against other people and hopefully open an eighty dollar card. Those of the
draft and those playing in the Yu Gi Oh tournament were part of a party group and a secondary
group. The types of social interaction on display at the tournament were competition, due to them
playing a card game where there can only be one winner and the prize offered for winning. The
role the draft players had in society were as competitive card game players. The role of the Yu Gi
Oh group is more interesting however, paraphrasing from what the owner of the store said about
his interaction with the Yu Gi Oh players, is that the store is essentially a daycare center for the
kids playing there. The parents come in and drop off their kids to play a card game for three to

Dark Side Leadership And How They Can Get Into Power
Dark side leadership creates problems for organisations and the individual, the most common
form of this being derailment. Smart (1999) estimated that the cost of a failed executive to be
$2.7 million. This essay is going to focus on what dark side leadership is and how they can get
into power when the consequences can be so great. The drawbacks of such research will be
discussed and alternative explanations explored. Before concluding that an inclusive approach must
be adopted.
The majority of research into how destructive leaders can get into power has focussed on the
individual themselves. Kenny and Zaccaro (1983) investigated leader emergence and found that 48
82% of the variance in leadership emergence was due to personality. The area of dark side
leadership lacks coherence around definitions and causations (Slattery, 2009). The majority of
this essay will focus on personality explaining dark side leadership emergence. Firstly, it is
important to look at leadership emergence with regards to dark side traits as proposed by Hogan
and Hogan (1997). Dark side traits are defined as traits that are undesirable, that are present in
excess and not traits in which they are lacking (Hogan Hogan, 2001). They identified 11
subclinical traits that can be present in dark side leaders, e.g. narcissism, by using the Hogan
Development Survey. They are termed subclinical because they are perceived to be less prominent
than clinical traits but still measure the degree to which a

Introduction:
Controlled crystal formation is important to acquire a certain texture in crystalline candy.
Crystalline candies are smooth, creamy, and easily chewed with a definite structure of small
crystals that resemble tiny snowflakes. Examples of crystalline candies are fondant, fudge, and
penuche. When a concentration of sugar is higher than 121 degrees Celsius, it is an amorphous or

The Theme Of Forbidden Love And Conflicts In Shakespeare s...
Around 30 B.C, Cleopatra, the Egyptian queen, and Roman general and politician, Mark
Anthony were having an affair together. Frowned upon, the two ancient lovers kept their love
hidden and private. After Cleopatra and possibly her lover, Mark Anthony, had a war thrown on
them, they committed a double suicide protecting their love. Their suicides lead Rome and
Egypt to become allies and no longer enemies. The power of their forbidden love was an
inspiration for Shakespeare s theme. In his play, Romeo and Juliet, Shakespeare s theme is
forbidden love can lead to consequences. Shakespeare uses plot and conflict to support this
theme throughout the play. Conflicts in Romeo and Juliet, and the plot support Shakespeare s
theme of a forbidden love can lead to consequences. For example, Romeo and Juliet fall in love
at a Capulet party before finding out each others families (act one, scene five). Once finding out
they are children of rivalries, their love becomes forbidden or not allowed. Knowing about each
other s families somehow made the love get stronger. Also, after challenging Romeo, Tybalt
approaches Romeo ( act three, scene one). Tybalt approaches Romeo in a rude manner, but Romeo
continues to stay clam and avoid any conflict because he is secretly married to Juliet. The... Show

The Crucible Definition
Nowhere in Arthur Miller s masterpiece, The Crucible , is there a mention of any form of a
Crucible. Where did Arthur Miller come up with the title of his play? In fact he uses the title as a
metaphor for both definitions of the term. The title The Crucible can be interpreted as having
characteristics of both a crucible from chemistry and a crucible to describe hard tests and trials.
The easiest definition to explain is the physical, more literal form of a crucible. It is a piece of
laboratory equipment used to heat chemical compounds to high temperatures. A crucible can be
looked at as a small container filled with large, violent reactions; almost exactly like what happened
in the summer of 1692 in Salem, Massachusetts. With all the residents of Salem jammed in that
tiny village, there were bound to be some red hot flares. If we were to compare the play to the
chemistry set up, the bunsen burner would be the same as Abigail Williams, the one who ignites
the situation; the tripod is comparable to the court system, the system that supports the situation;
the cover of the crucible is the same as the... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

the tests to determine who is and who isn t a witch, the tests to determine one s standing with the

that the accused must undergo. As well as the inner most trials where a character s beliefs are put
to the test. The most notable character who experiences this trial is Reverend Hale; who, after the
first batch of hangings commence, escapes into the woods to strengthen his faith in the Lord and in
the faith of the court of Salem. Salem metaphorically became a crucible for every instance and

Sun Yat-Sen
Evaluate the importance of Sun Yixian s (Sun Yat sen s) role in bringing about the 1911 Revolution
in China.
Sun Yat sen s role in the 1911 revolution against the Qing dynasty was an indirect one. Sun Yat sen
was exiled in the United States during the events of the Wuchang Uprising of October 10th, 1911,
hearing about it through a newspaper publication in Denver, Colorado.[1] Many Historians view
Sun s accession as the provisional President of the Republic of China, directly following the
revolution, as due to his position as a compromise candidate (Bergere, Marie Clare, Sun Yat sen,
1994, p. 12). This interpretation holds Sun Yat sen as a respected but unimportant figure in the
revolution, serving as an ideal compromise between the ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
In his nationalization theory, people would be deprived of the right to own land, but they could still
retain other rights over the land by permission of the state. Sun Yat sen s revolutionary ideas
extensively influenced formation of the New Army, responsible for the revolution of 1911. Through
his early revolutionary actions and a failed military coup in 1895, Sun Yat sen was exiled for
sixteen years, campaigning and raising monetary aid in Europe, the United States and in Japan. In
Japan, Sun Yat sen joined dissident Chinese groups, a pre cursor to the Tongmenghui, becoming
their leader and gaining a large amount of financial support from Japanese democratic
revolutionary, Miyazaki Toten.[6] Sun Yat Sen smuggled this financial aid into China through his
supporters, directly financing weapons and ammunitions, much of which was utilised in the
revolution by the New Army.
Sun Yat sen s ideology remained flexible; this had a homogenising effect on the revolutionary
factions involved in the Wuchang rebellion and more widely, the Xinhai Revolution. Sun Yat sen s
political ideologies reflected their intended audience as much as his personal convictions. He
presented himself as a strident nationalist to the nationalists, as a socialist to the socialists and an
anarchist to the anarchists, declaring in 1898, the goal of the three principles of the people is to
create socialism and

During the latency stage, the child/client begins to imitate their behaviors, mannerisms, speech, and
values of culture. For instance, this will initially allow the child to identify with their primary
sexual characteristics towards the corresponding parent, leading to increased sexual desires and
behaviors. Sexual latency begins from the age of six and lasts approximately five years. The child
begins to associate with the same sex orientation and is able to distinguish appropriate behaviors in
society, creating the superego. The genital phase begins from the ages of eleven to eighteen, which
comprises of increased pleasure from masturbation and is experienced more frequently than the anal
stage. Freud rationalized that all individuals are homosexual creatures; however, individuals do not
experience homosexual behaviors or relationships. Throughout this stage, individuals will begin to
formulate relationships with the opposite sex, which supersedes further development of the
superego leading to individuation and autonomy (Garcia, 1995).
In the next sections, the author will discuss the framework of attachment theory by John Bowlby
and Mary Ainsworth since both theorists worked collaboratively with attachment styles and object
relations theory. John Bowlby coined the theory of attachment based on the object relations

Immigration In Charles Mee s Big Love
Charles Mee s Big Love is one of many recent reinterpretations of ancient myths with a modern
twist. A central point in both Big Love and Aeschylus The Suppliants is the issue of the outsider.
The suppliants, or immigrants, in both plays are seeking refuge from the practice of intermarriage
in their supposedly barbaric homeland, however they receive a rather harsh reception in Argos. The
concept of immigrationwas an incredibly prevalent issue in ancient Greecewith the start of the
establishment of the Delian Leagueproviding a new national identity, and immigration remains an
important issue today. Throughout history there has always been anger simmering under the
surface of the immigration issue due to fear of the other. In The Suppliants , the danaids are
described as a sun burned race (Aesch. Suppl. 155) with Nile burned cheeks (Aesch. Suppl. 71). In
Mee s reinterpretation the women again appear different from the general Greek populous, and are
treated differently upon their arrival because of that fact, showing an intolerance for immigrants
that persists into modernity. In The Suppliants the Danaids differences from the natives of Argos
extend even further since: not only do they look different, but also the Danaids sound different and
have different customs. In the opening choral song, they supplicate hilly Apia (i.e. Argos), and ask
it to pay good attention to our foreign speech (karbanos auda) (Aesch. Suppl. 117 19). Later they

Diffusion And Diffusion Of Diffusion
Cultural Diffusion Diffusion occurs when people, their ideas and things move from one location
to another location. There are several types of diffusion that can occur. According to The Human
Mosaic there are five types of diffusion that can occur. The first type of diffusion that occurs is
called relocation diffusion. Relocation diffusion occurs when an individual or individuals migrate
and bring along certain traits and ideas with them to the new location. Examples of traits that some
people bring with them are their languages, certain mannerisms, religions, their dress and even
their diet. One example of a trait that is highly diffused is Christianity. We can see from the map
on page 28 and 29 that Christianity is a religion that is highly diffused throughout many countries.
From the map it shows that Christianity is found in locations such as Australia, Brazil, USA and
Russia (Smith 28,29). Another type of diffusion is expansion diffusion. During expansion
diffusion, practices and ideas are spread over a population from one area to the next having a
snowball effect. Expansion diffusion has a total of three different subtypes. The first subtype of
expansion diffusion is hierarchical diffusion. With Hierarchical diffusion only select populations
are affected by traits and ideas being diffused. Hierarchical diffusion is thought to affect individuals
who are of higher importance or from one urban area to another urban area, skipping the rural
places in between. An

The Consequences of Rewarding Good Grades with Money
Only 19% of 654 Canadian parents consider the age of 5 to be too young to be given money (Kids
Money, 2014). This is a huge problem in today s society. Kids are easily driven by money and can
become spoiled as well as overprivelaged. It would benefit both the child and parent(s) if they do
not receive money for good grades. Due to the lack of knowledge, kids are unable to spend
money wisely. Their strive for money becomes their main goal and do not realize the importance
of their grades. This leads to rushed work also, paying your childis a waste of the money earned by
the parents and leads to consequences for their future.
First of all, when kids get money for good grades, they are unable to spend it effectively. A child
are more likely to spend money on items such as games, candy or objects of their interest instead
of items that could be more beneficial towards themselves. They don t know how to handle
responsibility and have not been taught how to utilize their money. Economy does not lie in
sparing money, but, in spending it wisely (Huxley, 2014). Children don t understand the value of
money and how hard their parents work to receive enough to provide for them. With this hard
earned money, their parents fill their necessities while the kids fulfill their desires. A penny saved
is a penny earned (Franklin, 2014).
Because kids are unable to use their money effectively, the money of their parents gets taken
advantage of and gets wasted. The money that is given to

The Effects of Global Warming: The Mountain Pine Beetle and Northwestern American Pine Forests
Across Northwestern America the climate has protected pine forests from parasitic mountain pine
beetles for millennia, but due to recent global climate warming these delicate ecosystems are
experiencing an extreme shift. Normally the beetle population explodes every 25 years or so
when there is a spell of warm winters and hot dry summers. In this natural cycle the beetles kill
most of the older pines. The dead trees lose their needles over the next few years and open the
canopy letting light in. This frees space and nutrients allowing new tree growth. Historically, the
climate system kept the beetle population ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

Critical Appreciation Of Kipling
Credit here must be given to Kipling for doing a fantastic job at transliterating different accents and
dialects. That s usually difficult for an author to pull off convincingly, but here it is flawlessly
done. Particularly effective is when Kim and other characters switch from translated Hindi, fluent
and full of thees and thous, to transliterated English that comes out like Oah, I am verr ee sorr ee,
Sahib, and can t help but be read with the author s intended diction and cadence.
The picture which Kipling paints of India under British rule in the late 19th century is evident.

It suits his independent, inquisitive, adventurous personality perfectly, being a natural development
for the child who loves the game of running secret missions across the rooftops of Lahore:

In the end, there is a couple of camouflaged men traveling as being fur traders, though both of them

trip and gain some knowledge about their spying activities.
One of the merchants beats the lama, which tends to aggravate the wrath of Kim and all the
natives. On the other hand, the traders, the Frenchman and the Russian are left with nothing; and
Kim assumes control and takes over all their maps and secret papers, it is considered a coup for
British intelligence. The lama becomes representative of the spirituality and native culture of the

Flappers Chapter 1 Analysis
1.) In paragraph 13, the writer says that the flapper was as standardized as a chain hotel ; by what
he means is that the flappers were similar almost the same to one another, much like a chain hotel.
He generalizes flappers to be all the same and compares the flapper s dress to be a national product
, as in something that was the same throughout the country. There is no distinction in the cut of
clothing between the rich flapperand the poor flapper national advertising has attended to that. The
rich flapper has better clothing than the poor one, but a block away they are all flappers. The
writer compares the sameness of the flapper s dress to the sameness of chain hotels. ...and
incidentally hotel bedrooms are becoming so alike you can remember... Show more content on

In the war, many young boys lost their lives; not long later after the war, a flu epidemic broke out
in the US killing millions of young men and women. After the tragedies, the youth began to
celebrate mortality, fun, money, and youth and the flappers did just that. Flappers were radical
women who didn t follow the conventional standards for women in the US in the 1920s and seeked
personal liberty. They rebelled against genderroles and did what was considered immoral for
women and norms for men; they drank alcohol, smoke cigarette, listened and danced to jazz
music, flirted, and drove a car. But most importantly, they made their own money. Though the
original idea of flappers were poor working girls who waited for someone to marry them, the
standard quickly changed. Flappers became women who wanted to make their own money and
didn t want to marry man to support them. Flappers appearance wise, iconically they had their hair
short to a bob, wore short dresses (an inch above the knee), wore makeup, and didn t wear corsets.
Flappers were not only iconic in the roaring twenties, but also in feminism and

Building A Bridge Over A River Gorge
Chapter 12 Discussion Questions Q.1 Consider a project to build a bridge over a river gorge. What
are some of the resource constraints that would make this project challenging? Ans: Resource
constraints would include money/budget constraints, specialized equipment, large material
requirements, and personnel constraints revolving around contractors, and highly skilled
construction crew. A bridge is subject to many potential risks related to environment, technology
and physical construction. All put the project in jeopardy of overextending its budget which can
make monetary budgets and necessary reserves a central resource constraint. Due to the specialized
equipment and personnel required, scheduling these resources to arrive at appropriate times is
important. Equipment rentals and labor can be expensive, so it is important to schedule these
resources so that they arrive just in time for use, however this can be difficult to accurately predict.
It is also unlikely that the same personnel will be required throughout the project. One construction
team may be needed for pouring foundations, while another is hired to pave the driving surface.
Again, identifying, sequencing and scheduling these resources is vital to the project s on time
completion. Q.2 For many projects, the key resources to be managed are the project team
personnel. Explain in what sense and how project team personnel are often the project critical
resource. Ans: Project teams are created to

Now Unilever is a multi brand company that has over 400 different brands under them. Since
Paul Polman became the CEO of Unilever in 2009 their business plan was shifted from food
brands to beauty and hygiene products as they are more financially beneficial. The same year
Unilever created a sponsorship with a NASCAR team JR Motorsports for advertising purposes of
their products and to gain more publicity.
JR Motorsports is a team overrun by Dale Earnhardt Jr. who is one of the most popular drivers of
NASCAR and also a winner of 50 NASCAR sanctioned races. For the main benefits of the
sponsorship are the financial support from Unilever in exchange they help Unilever to advertise
their products of choice. With the financial support from Unilever JR Motorsports were able to
grow as a team and become a stable organization. For this reason they have remained loyal to
Unilever for a long period of time and help to advertise their products and bring their name in the
world as well as possible. Many companies compete over NASCAR brand promotion because
NASCAR events host a huge audience. Moreover, the team drivers are very involved on and off
the track. NASCAR is also one of the most broadcasted sports which mean their broadcasts are
viewed worldwide by millions of viewers. Advertising to a large audience is a beneficial marketing

Forgiveness In The Red Kayak
Forgiveness does not change the past, but enlarges the future Paul Blose. When you don t
forgive others it is like a burden on yourself. When you hold a grudge it does more harm to
yourself than the other person. People make mistakes. If you never forgave them you couldn t be
happy; you will always be angry at that person and you would be miserable. Forgivenessallows
someone to clear their conscience and move on with their life. Forgiveness is a theme of The Red

Since The Age Of Enlightenment, People Have Put Emphasis
Since the Age of Enlightenment, people have put emphasis on words such as how and
why in order to acquire knowledge. To this day, an insatiable desire for information and
understanding can be found in every discipline. More specifically, in the field of criminology, there
s an extensive battle to identify the etiology of drug abuse. This heightened effort is rationalized by
the fact that, in 2007 alone, drug abuse drained $200 billion from the American people in the form
of healthcare, criminal justice, and legal costs (American Addiction Centers N.d.). To stop the
depletion of national resources any further, it s imperative to look at the variables surrounding the
issue so that a definitive solution can be procured. By way of ... Show more content on

In other words, parents who demand very little and lack responsiveness, such as unengaged
parents, leave their child open to corruption and allow them to develop deviant tendencies.
Baumrind (1975:36) reiterates this in her case study, stating that extremely competent children
are never products of homes in which both parents demonstrate noninvolvement in care taking .
Both of these studies concluded that the amount of restraint involved in any given parenting
style has a direct correlation to how heavily reliant people become on illicit drugs. Nearly every
family has a keepsake or tradition that is passed on from person to person. Likewise, everybody
has a couple of distinct idiosyncrasies that they ve picked up from their own family. For this
reason, it s important to incorporate the family s history of drug abuse into the discussion. In a
like manner, doctors will often begin their search for a diagnosis by asking if there is any
pertinent medical history in the family. This is primarily because, when conducting research, the
family history method is the quickest and easiest way to either rule out possibilities or to support
hypotheses (Andreasen, Rice, Endicott, Reich, Coryell 1986:421). For some, the use of illegal
substances is commonplace in their lives. Perhaps it even facilitates a bonding ritual between
relatives. However, whether they ve grown

My Worldview Can Best Be Described As An Overflow
The Heart of Life My worldview can best be described as an overflow. In the end, it is what I
believe about God that spills out of the goblet of my life, staining every facet of my existence. I
am a Christian. I believe that God and His words are the ultimate measuring stick by which all
other claims of truth are evaluated. Godis the rock. He is unmovable and unshakeable. To Moses at
Mount Horeb, God said, I AM WHO I AM (English Standard Version, Ex. 3:14 ), and those
everlasting words still apply today. I believe in the Holy Trinity. While the concept is nearly
impossible to understand, I fully acknowledge that there God is three in one: God the Father, God
the Son, and God the Holy Spirit. (Matt. 3:16 17, 28:19) I believe that... Show more content on

1:28) I think that, while we are not to end human life, it is well within our God given rights to
kill animals for provision. The Lord also created families, and I align with His perspective on
how they should be organized. Marriage to be between one man and one woman, always(Gen
2:24, Matt. 19:4 5). Husbands are to be the head of the households; they are to lead their
families, and love their wives as Christ loved the church. Wives are also to love their husbands,
submit to them, and help them. (Eph. 5:22 30Children, which are blessings from the Lord (Ps.
127:3), are to obey their parents (Eph 6:1). In our modern world, there is a lot of confusion
about truth. The real truth of the matter is, that God authors reality and alone defines what is
right and wrong. His statues of justice and truth are non negotiable; they are absolute. I believe
that, as the Westminster Larger Catechism teaches, the chief and highest end of man , is to
glorify God, and fully enjoy Him for ever. God made people to bring Him glory. I believe that,
put briefly, we bring God glory by submitting to His lordship and character. This means that our
purpose in life to worship God, obey His commands, and honor His name with everything that
we are. (1 Chron. 16:28 29) I believe that sin on the other hand, is what Ravi Zacharias once called
a violation of purpose . Sin is the result of an indivduals choice to usurp God s law making

were there and they took his clothing.
Unfortunately, it does not take a lot of water to drown. Therefore, either he had some type of
condition that caused him to not be able to get out of the water such as falling asleep, drunk, or
someone else drowned him. At this point from the information we have there is no evidence of any

FROM STIGMA TO STATUS 2
Abstract
Tattoos have become a popular form of expression in the United States. Originally, tattoos were
common among sailors, military personnel, bikers, prostitutes, and jail mates. Now, however, the
use of tattoos is increasing among professionals and other people. Why has tattooing become such a
phenomenon in the past decade? Many people feel that it is because people who get tattoos want
to express their individuality, appeal to opposite sex, or rebel against the expectations of society.

  • 2. Job Satisfaction Is Defined As The Positive Feeling Felt... Job Satisfaction Job Satisfaction is defined as the positive feeling felt by an individual about a job which results from and evaluation of the job s characteristics (Robbins Judge, 2013). With an understanding of job satisfaction we will look at and describe the issues of three individuals and their three different jobs. Describing their job satisfactions, dislikes, and how all this relates to their performances on the job. The three different jobs that are presented for consideration of job satisfaction are an accountant position where Maria works, a Quality Control Manager for an insurance company, and this is where Darell works, and finally we have a Retail Store Manager for an outdoor company where Mike works. All three of these jobs have characteristics that can contribute to increased levels of job satisfaction. All three of these jobs offer plenty of hours of work. This can lead to job stability and increase the affective commitment that a person might have toward a job (Milligan, 2014). Maria s job as an accountant gives her job satisfaction because she has intellectual abilities that allow her to do mental thinking and reasoning. It could also be presumed that the Quality Control Manager and the Retail Store Manager have the same intellectual abilities. For the Quality Control Manager position the opportunity to travel all over the United States could produce job satisfaction. Finally the position of the retail manager that Mike possesses gives job satisfaction ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 3. Christ And The Holy Spirit. Introduction. This Week We CHRIST AND THE HOLY SPIRIT INTRODUCTION This week we studied Pneumatology, the doctrine of the Holy Spirit. It was an opportunity to learn about this unsung hero of the Trinity who, though ever present with us, we seldom mention or think of and often do not give the respect he merits. In this paper, we will address the relationship between the Holy Spirit and Jesus resurrection and ascension and how the Holy Spirit is involved in those events. We will also examine the Holy Spirit s work of regeneration and its impact on believers in the church. SUMMARY When Jesus ascended into heaven, he sent the Holy Spirit to the church. (Lecture 3). He was returning to the Father, and he left the Holy Spirit here to help all humanity. While Jesus... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Through the Holy Spirit, Jesus remains the shepherd king for all creation. And it s not only the Holy Spirit who is with everyone but the Father as well. In John 14:23 we hear, Jesus answered, Whoever loves me will keep my word. My Father will love them, and we will come to them and make our home with them. (CEB, emphasis added). This opportunity for Trinitarian indwelling is the reason Jesus told his disciples it would be to their advantage for him to go away. (John 16:7). (Morrison, 2007). REGENERATIVE WORK The Holy Spirit gives life. It was he who breathed life into God s creation and the beginning of time. He raised Jesus from the dead. He brings humanity regeneration by causing the hearts of man to have faith in Jesus. (Lecture 3). There are Biblical reference to this changed heart in Matthew 19:8, John 3:3, 5 7 and Titus 3:5. Regeneration is new birth. It is the Holy Spirit s working within a person to change their sinful heart so that they can respond to God. (Bird, 2013). Regeneration/new birth through the Holy Spirit is referenced in Genesis 2:7 and John 20:22. In both verses, the spirit that is inhaled is not completely exhaled but rather remains in the body to give new life to the recipient. (Weissenrieder, 2014, p. 60). Perhaps Jesus breathing on the disciples is the answer to Nicodemus question as to how one can be born again after growing old! (Weissenrieder, 2014). The regeneration a person receives from the Holy Spirit is a new birth. ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 4. Chemical Processes And Its Effects On The Industrial Age In order to power the industrial age, humans have burned gigantic amounts of coal to produce any form of power. Coal naturally contains high amounts of sulphur and burning of coal produces huge amounts of heat and the sulphur present in the coal combines with the atmospheric oxygen to produce Sulphur Dioxide. The smoke stacks of a power plant throw out all the waste gases into the atmosphere which contains huge amounts of Sulphur Dioxide. It is said that thermal power plants are the largest contributor of Sulphur Dioxide into the atmosphere. It is estimated that more than half of the total amount of Sulphur Dioxide generated in the atmosphere comes directly from thermal power plants that run on coal. Another anthropological source of Sulphur Dioxide gas as a pollutant is from paper production. The paper mills that produce pulp wood through a chemical process, normally combust their spent pulping liquor in a combustion unit. The most widely used chemical processes are Kraft Pulping process, Sulphite Pulping and Neutral Sulphite Semi Chemical Pulping (NSSC Pulping). Among these, Kraft Pulping process is the most widely used process as it can be used to make strong and durable paper products. This process consists of digestion of wood, or any other cellulite substance in a solution of sodium sulphite and sodium hydroxide, the waste products of which produce harmful pollutants including sulphur compounds. Sulphite Pulping and NSSC Pulping produce paper for the printing industry ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

The Treatment Of Women In Othello In Act 2 we see that Desdemona, Iago, Emilia and Roderigo are the first ship that were seen after the storm hit and caused most of the Turkish fleet of ships not to survive. While waiting for any news of Othello s ship, Cassio and Desdemona start to tease Emilia about being a chatterbox, while being playful with Emilia Iago quickly takes this opportunity to start criticizing women in general as being deceptive and hypocritical as he can. He starts saying that they are lazy in all matters except sex we can see this when he says You rise to play and go to bed to work . Instead of learning from his time in prison, he brought all his poor habits of corruption to the country of Zimbabwe ( Zimbabwe s 1). During his powerful rule, Zimbabwe faced many different situations within his country. Within the first few years of Mugabe being president, Zimbabwestarted to have some political and economical issues. Whether or not the issues are a direct correlation to Mugabe being president is unknown, but the timing is impeccable. Money was starting to disappear within the government causing an economic crisis, and Zimbabwe was having massive poverty and inflation increases. Corruption has increased in Zimbabwe forty three percent from 2002 to 2012. All signs of corruption in Africa, especially in Zimbabwe led back to the government and President Mugabe. The unethical ways of political officials in Zimbabwe influenced other countries in Africa. The Anti Corruption Trust in South Africa found that traffic police in Zimbabwe accumulated wealth which was not justifiable due to their salaries (Mathuthu 1, 2, 3). Robert Mugabe has been known for paying off people in contract settlements and brides ( Govt 1, 2, 3). Now a correlation is beginning to be found between the actions of Mugabe and the rest of Africa. Nearly 75 million people in Africa have been estimated to have paid someone a bride within the last year. As a region totaling in twenty eight governments eighteen out of these are completely insufficient to address the issues within their countries corruption ( 75 1, 2). • 7. Prostate Cancer Research Paper Prostate cancer is considered as the most commonly diagnosed cancer in men, in the U. S and most cases of prostate cancer have a good prognosis. Some of these cases can be aggressive and the death rate is assessed to be 2.8%. The Prostate specific antigen (PSA) test is used for screening for prostate cancer, to aid early detection and treatment. Prostate specific antigen (PSA) test Prostate specific antigen (PSA) is a protein produced by the prostate gland, found in the blood. Blood sample is utilized to check PSA levels and Lab results are reported in nanograms of PSA per milliliter (ng/mL) of blood. 4 ng/mL is considered to be the normal level of PSA. Although PSA Screening tests can facilitate to detect prostate cancer in its early stage, there is controversy and concern about patient being unnecessarily treated and over diagnosed. The reliability of prostate specific antigen (PSA) testing is very poor. PSA values could be false positive caused by conditions such as benign prostatic hyperplasia, ejaculation, perineal trauma and PSA value cannot be used to rule out prostate cancer. PSA screening misses a considerable number of patients with PCa (false negatives) and wrongly suspects or false positives (Hayat, Nordin and Berglund, 2013). Sensitivity of the test is determined with the percentage of people tested with the disease that had positive results equals the number of patients that were true positive. The cut off range for an abnormal PSA screening is 4.0 ng/mL. The American Cancer Society estimated that, the sensitivity of a PSA levels cutoff of 4.0 ng/mL, was twenty one percent for detecting any prostate cancer and fifty one percent for detecting high grade cancers (Gleason ≥8). Validity of the test can be determined by the ability of its screening to accurately identify, if the patient has the disease or not. With PSA screening alone, one cannot validate if the patient has prostate cancer and other diagnostic tests such as digital rectal exam ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Country Music Analysis Music will never stop evolving into various styles and sub genres, but over the last 30 years country music has taken snowballed into a clash of old school country and pop styles. After the third generation of country music grew past the honky tonk, consisting of a very basic ensemble of guitar, bass, and vocals, a change was needed to revive the country musicindustry. Artists had to create new styles of country, such as Countrypolitan, which aimed towards the mainstream pop markets. • 11. Hunt Companies, Inc. ( Hci ) Hunt Companies, Inc. (HCI) is a general contractor. HCI has been building and remodeling fast food restaurants for the past 30 years. Two years ago, HCI added a residential division. Residential construction is very different than commercial, in that clients are more finicky and change their minds more frequently, leading to a lot of re work and punch list issues. At the end of each project, the project manager walks through the jobsite with the customer to make sure everything is done according to the customer s desires and nothing is missing/ wrong/ unfinished. Any items that the customer claims must be done before the project is truly complete go into the punch list. The crew goes back to the site and addresses all the items on the list, at which point we consider the job 100% done. Since the crew at HCI has been focused on commercial projects up until recently, they tend to often cut corners and get away with not following the specifications to a T . This has become a problem in the residential business, directly affecting the residential division profitability. When workers have to go back to fix things that should have been done correctly in the first place, it costs the company their time and the extra materials needed. Moreover, customers are disappointed to find problems in the project, which decreases goodwill and HCI s ability to build strong customer relationships. • 13. Indications For Liver Biopsy And Histological Assessment... INDICATIONS FOR LIVER BIOPSY Liver biopsy and histological assessment of the liver has now taken on an important role in clinical management. Therefore liver biopsy currently has two major roles: (A) Diagnostic purposes:Liver biopsy is helpful in diagnosis of many forms of liver disease such as acute and chronic hepatitis (Wilson disease, alpha 1 antitrypsin disease, glycogen storage diseases, AIH, NiemannPick disease and others), cholestatic disorders, fatty liver disease, vascular diseases, inп¬Ѓltrative or storage diseases, some infectious diseases, and other disorders that may be associated with characteristic histological abnormalities. It also plays a role in the diagnosis of patients with abnormal liver tests of unknown etiology (Czaja et al., 2007). (B) Liver biopsy in the assessment of known liver disease: Liver histology is also commonly used in disease monitoring of patients with AIH. First, the portal based plasma cell inп¬Ѓltrate may predict relapse and second, liver biopsy is often obtained prior to steroid dose reduction and/or discontinuation of immunosuppressive therapy (Rockey et al., 2009). 1 Neonatal Cholestasis Some forms of neonatal cholestasis can be identified biochemically and genetically, but others require LB. • 14. Mesovortex Synthesis Potential connections exist between total lightning and mesovortex formation, which is the parent circulation from which QLCS tornadoes are born. Many studies have found that mesovortexgenesis is initiated at low levels by tilting, in downdrafts, of crosswise baroclinic horizontal vorticity (Trapp and Weisman 2003 Part II, Wheatley and Trapp 2008, Atkins and St. Laurent 2009 Part II). Additional studies have found that strong low level updraft is critical in converging and amplifying vertical vorticity associated with the mesovortex (Schenkman et al. 2012, Atkins and St. Laurent 2009). Trapp and Weisman (2003 Part I) also found that the amount of windshear had large implications on mesovortexgenesis. As wind shear increased in both magnitude and... The region with the largest lightning flash rates is related to a stronger mid level updraft, and a lightning jump (or multiple lightning jumps) occur in response to a rapid intensification of updraft strength. This mid level updraft can assist in mesovortexgenesis in two ways. First, if a low level mesovortex is present in the presence of strong vertical wind shear, this strong mid level updraft could potentially act to stretch the vertical vorticity, thereby strengthening the mesovortex. Secondly, this strong mid level updraft can ultimately produce more and larger precipitation, which in turn contributes ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

The nation and the whole world was shocked in that day. In fact, president JFK was preparing for his next combine in Texas, he took a road trip by a motorcade with his wife Jacqueline Kennedy, Governor John Connally, and his wife Nellie. The road trip went through Dealey Plaza in downtown Dallas towards the trade mart, where the president was scheduled to give a speech there. The road that the president JFK was traveling on by his motorcade was fully crowded by citizen, reporter, and photographer, which all came out to see the president. Survivors of such horrible traumas sometimes can act out in violence, after something triggers them to remember the ordeal. The novel The Suspect by L.R. Smart (1999) estimated that the cost of a failed executive to be $2.7 million. This essay is going to focus on what dark side leadership is and how they can get into power when the consequences can be so great. The drawbacks of such research will be discussed and alternative explanations explored. Before concluding that an inclusive approach must be adopted. The majority of research into how destructive leaders can get into power has focussed on the individual themselves. Kenny and Zaccaro (1983) investigated leader emergence and found that 48 82% of the variance in leadership emergence was due to personality. The area of dark side leadership lacks coherence around definitions and causations (Slattery, 2009). The majority of this essay will focus on personality explaining dark side leadership emergence. Firstly, it is important to look at leadership emergence with regards to dark side traits as proposed by Hogan and Hogan (1997). Dark side traits are defined as traits that are undesirable, that are present in excess and not traits in which they are lacking (Hogan Hogan, 2001). Frowned upon, the two ancient lovers kept their love hidden and private. After Cleopatra and possibly her lover, Mark Anthony, had a war thrown on them, they committed a double suicide protecting their love. Their suicides lead Rome and Egypt to become allies and no longer enemies. The power of their forbidden love was an inspiration for Shakespeare s theme. In his play, Romeo and Juliet, Shakespeare s theme is forbidden love can lead to consequences. Shakespeare uses plot and conflict to support this theme throughout the play. In fact he uses the title as a metaphor for both definitions of the term. The title The Crucible can be interpreted as having characteristics of both a crucible from chemistry and a crucible to describe hard tests and trials. The easiest definition to explain is the physical, more literal form of a crucible. It is a piece of laboratory equipment used to heat chemical compounds to high temperatures. A crucible can be looked at as a small container filled with large, violent reactions; almost exactly like what happened in the summer of 1692 in Salem, Massachusetts. With all the residents of Salem jammed in that tiny village, there were bound to be some red hot flares. • 34. Immigration In Charles Mee s Big Love Charles Mee s Big Love is one of many recent reinterpretations of ancient myths with a modern twist. A central point in both Big Love and Aeschylus The Suppliants is the issue of the outsider. The suppliants, or immigrants, in both plays are seeking refuge from the practice of intermarriage in their supposedly barbaric homeland, however they receive a rather harsh reception in Argos. The concept of immigrationwas an incredibly prevalent issue in ancient Greecewith the start of the establishment of the Delian Leagueproviding a new national identity, and immigration remains an important issue today. Throughout history there has always been anger simmering under the surface of the immigration issue due to fear of the other. In The Suppliants , the danaids are described as a sun burned race (Aesch. Suppl. 155) with Nile burned cheeks (Aesch. Suppl. 71). In Mee s reinterpretation the women again appear different from the general Greek populous, and are treated differently upon their arrival because of that fact, showing an intolerance for immigrants that persists into modernity. In The Suppliants the Danaids differences from the natives of Argos extend even further since: not only do they look different, but also the Danaids sound different and have different customs. • 35. Diffusion And Diffusion Of Diffusion Cultural Diffusion Diffusion occurs when people, their ideas and things move from one location to another location. There are several types of diffusion that can occur. According to The Human Mosaic there are five types of diffusion that can occur. The first type of diffusion that occurs is called relocation diffusion. Relocation diffusion occurs when an individual or individuals migrate and bring along certain traits and ideas with them to the new location. Examples of traits that some people bring with them are their languages, certain mannerisms, religions, their dress and even their diet. One example of a trait that is highly diffused is Christianity. We can see from the map on page 28 and 29 that Christianity is a religion that is highly diffused throughout many countries. From the map it shows that Christianity is found in locations such as Australia, Brazil, USA and Russia (Smith 28,29). Another type of diffusion is expansion diffusion. During expansion diffusion, practices and ideas are spread over a population from one area to the next having a snowball effect. Expansion diffusion has a total of three different subtypes. The first subtype of expansion diffusion is hierarchical diffusion. With Hierarchical diffusion only select populations are affected by traits and ideas being diffused. Hierarchical diffusion is thought to affect individuals who are of higher importance or from one urban area to another urban area, skipping the rural places in between. An ... It would benefit both the child and parent(s) if they do not receive money for good grades. Due to the lack of knowledge, kids are unable to spend money wisely. Their strive for money becomes their main goal and do not realize the importance of their grades. This leads to rushed work also, paying your childis a waste of the money earned by the parents and leads to consequences for their future. First of all, when kids get money for good grades, they are unable to spend it effectively. A child are more likely to spend money on items such as games, candy or objects of their interest instead of items that could be more beneficial towards themselves. They don t know how to handle responsibility and have not been taught how to utilize their money. Economy does not lie in sparing money, but, in spending it wisely (Huxley, 2014). Normally the beetle population explodes every 25 years or so when there is a spell of warm winters and hot dry summers. In this natural cycle the beetles kill most of the older pines. The dead trees lose their needles over the next few years and open the canopy letting light in. This frees space and nutrients allowing new tree growth. • 43. Building A Bridge Over A River Gorge Chapter 12 Discussion Questions Q.1 Consider a project to build a bridge over a river gorge. What are some of the resource constraints that would make this project challenging? Ans: Resource constraints would include money/budget constraints, specialized equipment, large material requirements, and personnel constraints revolving around contractors, and highly skilled construction crew. A bridge is subject to many potential risks related to environment, technology and physical construction. All put the project in jeopardy of overextending its budget which can make monetary budgets and necessary reserves a central resource constraint. Due to the specialized equipment and personnel required, scheduling these resources to arrive at appropriate times is important. Equipment rentals and labor can be expensive, so it is important to schedule these resources so that they arrive just in time for use, however this can be difficult to accurately predict. It is also unlikely that the same personnel will be required throughout the project. One construction team may be needed for pouring foundations, while another is hired to pave the driving surface. Again, identifying, sequencing and scheduling these resources is vital to the project s on time completion. Q.2 For many projects, the key resources to be managed are the project team personnel. Both of these studies concluded that the amount of restraint involved in any given parenting style has a direct correlation to how heavily reliant people become on illicit drugs.
