Religious Influence Of Tolerance In The British Colonies
Tolerance in the British colonies varied, mainly depending on the diversity levels where they were
founded. In some of the colonies, there were laws established so the importance of Christianity
would be conserved. Other colonies were welcoming to different religions, and executed either
limited or full tolerance for those religions. Unfortunately, colonies that were bigoted enough to
damage fabrications of differing religious views or the belief itself existed.
Throughout the British colonies, different laws based off of religious view were formed in order
to preserve Christianity and drive away any religion that didn t praise God. In Pennsylvania, there
was a law enacted by the founder of the province, William Penn, that denied anyone to practice
any religion that didn t recognize God as creator of the world. If anyone was to disobey this law,
they would molested or would be prejudiced for their conflicting practice. Additionally, the law
stated if someone weren t to worship God, and showed it outside of their own home, they would
be considered a disturber of peace, and would be punished appropriately. A similar law was
ratified previously in the charter of Rhode Island, where someone could be disquieted, punished,
and called in for questioning if they had an opposing opinion of religion. Other laws that
reinforced Christianity were stressed as well, like laws that prevented work on the Lord s Day, or
Sunday, to instead worship God. Again in Pennsylvania, people were

Romero Movie Analysis Of The Movie
The movie Romero portrays the life of Archbishop Oscar Romero of El Salvador. Romero (1917
1980) was assassinated because of his protests against the horrors the government did against the
people of El Salvador. I enjoyed this movie because of the deep themes and meanings that were
revealed throughout. There was no fluff in this movie, and it boldly showed graphic images and
scenes that portrayed the reality of the situation in El Salvador. Although there were times that
some of the subplots were confusing, the overall plot of the movie was straightforward and easy
to understand. The movie begins with a priest, Father Grande, encouraging the poor people to
vote, but the voters are shot at by guerilla soldiers and the soldiers force the people to walk
through the danger. This active work of the priest is observed by Romero who seems to
disapprove of the Father Grande s disruption. At the beginning of the movie, Romero is quiet,
submissive, and does not like to disturb the waters of thinly held peace. These traits earn him the
spot of Archbishop of El Salvadorbecause the church leaders think he will remain uninvolved in
political affairs.
Despite the leaders hopes, this changes when Father Grande is killed. Romero begins to fully
realize the horrors of the government, and he starts to take a stand for the people. He learns later
that another priest was captured by the government and tortured by the government. This indicates
that the government has little respect for the

Advantages And Disadvantages Of An Entrepreneur Buying A...
An entrepreneur is someone who sets up their own business and take on financial risks in hope of
making profit. There are many skills that an entrepreneur would have, some of these skills include
focus, resilience, self reliance, ability to learn, ability to sell and the ability to take on risks
(Forbes, 2013, online). A franchiseis an arrangement between the franchisor and franchisee where
the franchisor will give the rights to the franchisee to use its trademark/trade name and some
business systems to produce and market a good or service. There are two types of franchises, one
is product distribution is where the trademark and logo is provided although the business systems
are not provided. Another type is a business format franchise is where the product and trademark is
used alongside the franchisee conducting the business itself such as the marketingplan and
operations manual (An Introduction to Franchising, 2001, pg.2, eBook). This essay will be
discussing the advantages and disadvantages of an entrepreneur buying a business format franchise.
Some points that will be discussed in this essay are the costs, the level of support and certain
restrictions when buying a franchise.
An advantage of an entrepreneur buying a franchise is that there will be a higher rate of success
than when owning a start up business (Queensland Government, 2016, Online). This would be
beneficial for the entrepreneur buying the franchise because it will help to generate more profit and

Christ And The Holy Spirit. Introduction. This Week We
CHRIST AND THE HOLY SPIRIT
INTRODUCTION
This week we studied Pneumatology, the doctrine of the Holy Spirit. It was an opportunity to learn
about this unsung hero of the Trinity who, though ever present with us, we seldom mention or
think of and often do not give the respect he merits. In this paper, we will address the relationship
between the Holy Spirit and Jesus resurrection and ascension and how the Holy Spirit is involved
in those events. We will also examine the Holy Spirit s work of regeneration and its impact on
believers in the church.
SUMMARY
When Jesus ascended into heaven, he sent the Holy Spirit to the church. (Lecture 3). He was
returning to the Father, and he left the Holy Spirit here to help all humanity. While Jesus... Show

Through the Holy Spirit, Jesus remains the shepherd king for all creation. And it s not only the
Holy Spirit who is with everyone but the Father as well. In John 14:23 we hear, Jesus answered,
Whoever loves me will keep my word. My Father will love them, and we will come to them and
make our home with them. (CEB, emphasis added). This opportunity for Trinitarian indwelling is
the reason Jesus told his disciples it would be to their advantage for him to go away. (John 16:7).
(Morrison, 2007).
REGENERATIVE WORK The Holy Spirit gives life. It was he who breathed life into God s
creation and the beginning of time. He raised Jesus from the dead. He brings humanity
regeneration by causing the hearts of man to have faith in Jesus. (Lecture 3). There are Biblical
reference to this changed heart in Matthew 19:8, John 3:3, 5 7 and Titus 3:5. Regeneration is
new birth. It is the Holy Spirit s working within a person to change their sinful heart so that they
can respond to God. (Bird, 2013). Regeneration/new birth through the Holy Spirit is referenced
in Genesis 2:7 and John 20:22. In both verses, the spirit that is inhaled is not completely exhaled
but rather remains in the body to give new life to the recipient. (Weissenrieder, 2014, p. 60).
Perhaps Jesus breathing on the disciples is the answer to Nicodemus question as to how one can
be born again after growing old! (Weissenrieder, 2014). The regeneration a person receives from the
Holy Spirit is a new birth.

Examples Of Patriotism Or Love For Motherland
Patriotism Or, Love for Motherland
Introduction: patriotism is one of the most sterling qualities of human life. Patriotism rouses in him
a feeling of pride and glory.
Home, home, sweet home; there is no place like home.
Utility of patriotism: the utility of patriotism is too much to be described. Islam says Patriotism is a
part of religion . Motherland actually stands next to one s mother. A country cannot achieve her
desired development without the patriotic zeal and sincere participation of her people. Patriotism
inspires a man to shed even the last drop of his blood to defend the freedom and honor of his
country. A people can neither defend their freedom nor resist foreign aggression or free their
country from foreign domination without being inspired by the patriotic feelings. They must
remain ever watchful and ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
To the end like the glittering stars studded in the sky.
Fate of an unpatriotic: most hatred is the fate of an unpatriotic. A man without patriotism cannot
be called a man in the truest sense of the term. He is worse than a beast. He is said to be a man
with a dead soul. Sir Walter Scott says,
Breathes there the man with soul so dead,
Who has never to himself hath said this is my own, my native land.
He is looked down upon by one and all in the society. He lives a miserable life and dies and
ignoble death. He dies unwept, un honored and unsung. Let me quote the poet,
Living shall forfeit fair renown,
And doubly dying shall go down.
The world history of the unpatriotic persons bears out the fact well. Sirajuddowla, the last
independent nabob of bangle, had to meet with a tragic defeat and death in the battle of Plessey due
to the conspiracy of the traitors like Mirjafar, Umichand and others. But history did not escape
them. They were outright thrown into the dustbins of history. We cannot but hate

Democratic And Republican Parties Essay
Democratic and Republican Parties The United States has been a democratic republic for more
than 220 years. Throughout these years, the country has gone through a lot of political changes.
Many wars have been fought and inhumane practices have been abolished. Women have fought
for their right to vote and minorities have fought for their right to be equal. The ability for
citizens to make these changes is what makes our republic so great. However, for every person
that has a certain political view, there are just as many that have the opposite. This has led to the
Unites States having mainly a two party system, the parties being the Democratic and Republican
Party. Our country is divided both geographically and ideologically based on the two... Show more

The Merger Is A Final Reorganization Essay
1.The merger is a qualifying reorganization. It is a forward triangular merger, В§368(a)(2)(D),
because the parent (ODI) created a subsidiary (Atlantic) with the contribution of its stock (the ODI
Nonvoting Preferred Stock), and then the target (CPI) merges into the subsidiary (Atlantic). CPI s
shareholders will receive the nonvoting preferred stockof ODI, and CPI will disappear. The
requirements necessary under В§368(a)(2)(D) is that the subsidiary acquires substantially all of
the target s assets, which will be 90% of net and 70% of gross. This does occur because Atlantic
acquires all of CPI s assets and liabilities. Typically, stripping off a target s assets are prohibited,
but in this case the subsidiary is acquiring the cash received from the sale of the tools division.
Another requirement is that the target s shareholders only receive stock of the parent and not
the subsidiary, and in this case, the stock transferred to CPI s shareholders are all ODI s stock.
Another requirement is that the target is merged into the subsidiary, which does occur; CPI
merges into Atlantic and Atlantic survives. The final requirements are the judicial authority
requirements. There is a continuity of shareholder s interest test, just like required in a type A
merger. Even though not all three shareholders of CPI receive shares of ODI, Harry s and Teresa s
ownership is greater than 50% of CPI. Harry owns 60% (300/500) of CPI and Teresa owns 22%
(110/500) of CPI. It also meets the

John Rain Quotes
John Rain is the main character in the John Rain series of novels authored by Barry Eisler. The
first novel that featured the series s titular character was Rain Fall that was published in 2003 and
later renamed A Clean Kill in Tokyo. The series of books may be classified as espionage novels.
John Rain has had years of training when he served in the CIA, the Special Forces and as an
assassin for hire. He displays a strongly rooted sense of paranoia, a drive to tie up loose ends
(typically through killing his victims), and an inability to trust anyone.
Rain had served in the Vietnam War as a member of the Special Forces before he was later

Gender Differences In Blood Flow
As she approached him from the opposite side of the room, he almost knew that everyone in the
building could hear his heart thumping in his chest. His collar was tightening around his neck. He
felt as if every twitch in his body was amplified as she wrapped her arms around him. They

The male, in response to sexual stimuli, approaches the first phase of Masters and Johnson sexual
response cycle, the excitement phase. The femalewould have the similar reaction. However, there
would also be differences as well. Blood flow would be increased to the abdominal portions for
both male and female. However, this increased blood flow would create different environments for
both. For example, the male would have an increase in blood flow to the penis, which would cause
constriction in the blood vessels to form an erection. The female would have an increase in blood
flow to the labia minora, majora, and further causing transduction, or increased vaginal lubrication.

heart rate, and labored breathing. However, the body prepares for the next phase. The penis
becomes fully erect, and the testes move closer to the body cavity (Green, 2014, p162). The female
organs go through their own metamorphosis. The clitoris withdraws underneath the clitoral hood.
The vagina opens at the upper portion of the vaginal canal, creating a vessel to collect sperm. This
phase last only a few minutes in most in anticipation for the next phase, the orgasm

Ralph Waldo Emerson Analysis
Ralph Waldo Emerson gave a speech to the men of the Phi Beta Kappa Society at Cambridge
University entitled The American Scholar in 1837. The speech focused on the main ideas of
transcendentalism as well as how different factors in society affect man s ability to realize that
they are their own individuals. Harold Bloom, a well known literary critic who evaluated topics
such as the bible and Shakespeare, believed that Emerson s writing was the template for all future
authors. Bloom believed that adversity allows people to have a deeper understanding of the world.
However, Emerson focused on the loss of knowledge in the society due to the misunderstanding of
younger generations in his time period while Bloom mainly focused on how Emerson s views on
individualism and transcendentalism affected all writing whether admitted or not. Harold Bloom
was correct in his critique, Out of Panic, Self Reliance published in 2008, when he confirmed
Ralph Waldo Emersons view point in his speech The American Scholar (1837) stating that
overcoming adversity is an essential part to gaining wisdom and forming self reliance by
comparing it to current political events in order to show once again that Ralph Waldo Emerson
was very influential to not only authors but to the overall evolution of man s thoughts. It can be
inferred from Emerson that the adversity that he so deeply describes throughout his speech could
be man s eternal struggle to discover his own self reliance and experience real world connections
instead of just reading about them and not fully understanding or even comprehending the
meaning of what is being read. Ralph Waldo Emerson separates society into two groups known as
Man Thinking ( Emerson 2) who has allowed himself to be open to new ways of life and
understanding and Mere thinkers (Emerson 2) who simply follow the trends and patterns society
without any thought of their own. He believes the Mere thinkers are inevitable lost in adversity and
do not fully understand transcendentalist ideas. Nevertheless, it will never be too late to find self
reliance and contribute an opinion to the world thus diversifying society.
When people finally rise above adversity they recognize the god within themselves

Symptoms And Treatment Of The Blood Brain Barrier
There are many expecting mothers who suffer from serious mental illnesses like schizophrenia,
bipolar disorder, or borderline personality disorder that requires they must take antipsychotic drugs
to remain stable. There are different types of antipsychotics like typical and atypical. Typical
antipsychotics are classified as the first generation of antipyschotics. The atypical antipsychotics,
the second generation, are reported to be safer than the typical antipsychotics because they are the
newer form of antipsychoticmedication. Even though they are reported to be safer, they still have
severe side effects on the individual consuming it, like tardive dyskinesia, which are uncontrollable
movements of the mouth (McCauley et al., 2009). Some drugs can affect the fetusby transferring to
the blood brain barrier. The blood brain barrier is a permeable barrier that allows some chemicals
to pass through. It separates the circulating blood from the brain extracellular fluid in the central
nervous system. The blood brain barrier also transports molecules to the brain that are essential to
function properly, like glucose and amino acids. Since capillary endothelial cells, which line the
whole circulatory system, form the blood brain barrier the medication could be transported to the
fetus. From

George S. Patton Jr, Visionary Leadership
George S. Patton Jr, Visionary, Not Ethical Leadership General Patton once said Moral courage is
the most valuable and usually the most absent characteristic in men (A quote by George S. Patton
Jr, n.d.) He did not know that would describe both his positive example of visionary leadership and
his inability to practice ethical leadershipall at the same time. His performance during World War
II offers great examples of his visionary leadership by utilizing inspirational motivation, idealized
influence, and overall embodying transformational leadership. Despite his influence, he illustrated
a lack of ethical leadership by falling into the ethical dilemma of competing values and not using
the 5 Step Ethical Decision Making Process. General Patton was a visionary leader that showed a
lack of ethical leadership, which motivates me into being a better leader in the Wing Inspector
Generals (IG) office. To do so, a better understanding of his visionary leadership is required.
Visionary Leadership General Patton s actions during World War II led using his ability to be a
visionary leader through transformational leadership tactics that were years ahead of current
tactics. According to Axelrod (2006), he was given the nickname Old Blood and Guts for telling
those under his command that they will be up to their necks in blood and guts (Axelrod, 2006, p.
2). Patton s intention for such colorful inspiration was to push his troops to strive for the
extraordinary. General

Through the text we have in infer a lot and there were many clues in the story that helped us
infer that this story was about divorce. We have to infer the conflict and what the character are
like. They must be not getting along at this point in life because she is doing something behind
his back and the mom thinks he has also done things behind her back. The same things go with
the dialog. Although there is not much dialog in the story, when there is, it is really meaningful
and it serves a good purpose in the story and it helps advance the plot. If there was no dialog the
story would not have ended up the way it did. For example, He laughs. Momma, you forgot me

things that we had to infer. According to the class requirements, inference and dialog follow the

Let s compare the figures in chart 1.6 and 1.7; in 2007, Nokia s had a market share of 35.1% in
the China mobile phone market (2G) which dominated the market. But in 2009, its market share
dropped by 7% to 28.4%. Although Nokia s sales in China have increased, but the rate of
increase of its sales is slower than the market itself, hence the decrease on market shares. Like
the CEO of Nokia, Olli Pekka Kallasvuo said in 2010, the global market has continued to grow at
a healthy pace; the only problem for Kallasvuo is that while the market might be growing at a
healthy pace, Nokia s sales aren t. Since resources are limited, it is vital to maximize output using
the least amount of labour and capital. Like measuring market performance, we can use data on the
annual report to measure a company s productive performance physically and financially.

Even though this country is on the lower end of death rate due to traffic accidents in the world,
it is still too high for anyone s liking. I m here to propose to you some methods to lower the

someone who insurance companies feel are likely to lose them money, due to traffic violations
such as getting in a crash while not wearing seatbelts. Though accidents that become fatal due to

would motivate people to use their seatbelts. Another possibility would be to install ignition
interlocks, making it impossible to start the car until everyone is buckled. Another way to
increase seatbelt usage would be to increase the police enforcement, specifically during the night.
Surveys have shown that seatbelt usage is 5 10% lower at night. If there is more enforcement
during the night, not only would people not wearing seatbelts be caught more often, but it would
increase the likelihood that someone else would wear their seatbelts as they wouldn t want to get

The framework of laws and rules that govern the administration of justice in cases involving an

As a safeguard, criminal proceedings are against the indiscriminate application of criminal laws.
Laws are designed and used in order to enforce the constitution written by our founding fathers. The
american criminal justice process begins with the initial police contact and continuing through an
arrest, investigation, trial, sentencing, and appeals.
The first step in the process is the investigation. Once an offender initially commits a crime and
officers are contacted and make an arrest, they have to investigate further into the crime at hand.
Evidence is then gathered and follow up investigations attempt to put the pieces on chronological
order to show what happened before and during the time of the crime. There are also many efforts
to identify some possible suspects to further the next step of the criminal justice process.
The next stage to the process of finding a criminal offender is getting the judge to agree to a
warrant. A warrant provides the legal basis for an apprehension of a suspect. Once officers have
their warrant, they will be able to search for more evidence that may pertin

Matthew s Portrayal Of Pilate
When you think of the passion narrative, often times one of the first characters that comes to
mind is Pontius Pilate. Was he as man with good intentions, but corrupted by his position of
power, or was he a man who was malicious and sought to destroy Jesus. Callie Callon, a professor
in the school of theology at the University of Toronto, wrote an article titled Pilate the Villain: An
Alternative Reading of Matthew s Portrayal of Pilate . This article argued that Matthew s depiction
of Pilate places him in the position of a villain in the passion story. She uses Biblical and historical
information to support her claim. In this paper, I argue that Pontius Pilatewas a leader who had good
intentions and did not want to follow through with... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
For instance, I think that she would argue that Pilate was more concerned with pleasing the
crowd than with saving Jesus. I do think that there is some truth to this statement, but I that
Pilate tries his best to maneuver around the crowd by offering Jesus up against a criminal and
by not taking part in the crucifixion. I think based on his place in the government he is stuck
having to appeal to the crowd s wishes because he is clearly outnumbered. I feel like it is a
difficult position to place all the blame on Pilate, but I do not think he is totally innocent in this
case. He could have used his political power and overruled the crowd, possibly, but I think he
was worried how that would affect his position. Yes this is selfish motivation, but we do live in a
selfish and fallen world and what would you do if you were in his position? I think that there
definitely is a counter argument to be made here, but I do not think I would totally agree with
Callie Callon by saying that Pontius Pilate is Villain, just based on the biblical evidence provided in

Funerary Art Research Paper
Throughout the history of art, funerary art has served as a repository for the dead. Funerary art
has provided many cultural functions. Funerary art has played a large role in burial and
celebrating the journey and accomplishments of the dead. The funerary monuments of the Greeks
and the Romans were elaborate and provided a relic for the dead to ensure them safe travels to the
afterlife. Greek concepts of burials consisted of the belief that when one died they went to the
kingdom of Hades and Persephone. Women performed the burialrituals, and it involved laying out
the body (prothesis) and the funeral procession (ekphora). The Romans performed a burial, where it
would end in a columbarium (underground chamber). In the columbarium, is where the Romans
preserved the ashes of the dead. The columbarium sometimes could be elaborate and the sarcophagi
told insight into Roman values. Typical Roman funerary art includes tombstones, death masks, and
sculptural reliefs. A comparison of the two funerary monuments, The Stele of Hegeso and the Tomb
relief of the Publius Gessius, will offer the audience insight into the funerary techniques and styles
of the Greeks and Romans. Thus,... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

Comparing Gerald Manley Hopkins Spring And Fall
We have all dreamed of having that perfect something; that thing we expected would be there
and would make us happy for a particular moment or for the rest of our lives. Whether it is
traveling to the best vacation spot, attending one s dream school, working our dream job, etc.,
we have all had expectations of having the perfect thing. Unfortunately, not all our dreams have
turned out the way we had hoped; sometimes we realize that perfect thing we have always
dreamt about does not exist. This disappointment of realizing that perfect something is not what
we had hoped for can be found in Gerald Manley Hopkins Spring and Fall . Spring and Fall is
written as if the speaker is speaking to a young girl named Margaret. The poem starts off with
the speaker asking the young girl, Margaret, are you grieving over Goldengrove unleaving? (S F,
lines 1 2). Margaret appears to be upset the leaves are falling from the trees, which is a sign the
seasons are changing from summer to fall. Since she is a young child, she would see the leaves
falling and be disappointed she will not be able to play outside as often. She would notice... Show

Everyone is going to experience this inevitability because It is the blight man was born for , the
blight being death (S F, line 14). All things, no matter how long or how short live for, will die.
Everything has to have a beginning and an end. No matter who you are, everyone will experience

A Article About Playground Video Games
Few months ago, I have read a Korean article about playground. That article showed statistics of
how many small towns are closing their playgrounds. The reason they close the playgrounds are,
there are no kids anymore. In these days, children are not really spending time with friends to
play outside. Rather, they go into each other s house for playing computer games or video games.
However, when I was young, I always went outside in the afternoon to hangout with my friends
until my parents spend hours to find me. How about you? Haven t you played outside until you
cannot recognize your friends face? For me, while I was playing with my friends, I could not feel
tiredness or starve. I rather choose playing with my friends than eating delicious foods. Everyone
experienced that?
You remember? Last week, we had read and seen the Jesus with feeding 5,000 people with 5
loaves of bread and 2 fish. And today s scripture is extention of the last week s scripture. Today s
scripture starts with crowds who came over to Capernaum to find Jesus. It is not really long
distance, between the place where Jesus performed the miracle of feeding five thousands and
Capernaum are only 6 miles apart. However, they followed Jesus with the purpose of making

Morally Ambiguous Character In Mary Shelley s Frankenstein
In the novel Frankenstein by Mary Shelley the creation can be viewed as a morally ambiguous
character. When the creature was given life he was benevolent and never wanted to inflict harm
on anyone or anything. The actions of others shaped the creature to become an individual filled
with so much hate towards his creator he wanted him dead. The creature was molded to be a
depressed and angry person who wanted to bring pain to those who hurt him but mostly Victor. The
creature s actions show his kindness throughout the novel but he also kills multiple people and feels
a strong sense of hate towards Victor, which leads us to believe that he is morally ambiguous. The

essential because they are proactive and emphasize quality. However, detective controls play a
critical role by providing evidence that the preventive controls are functioning as intended:
Preventive Controls are designed to discourage errors or irregularities

The Original Position and the Veil of Ignorance
Political philosopher John Rawls believed that in order for society to function properly, there
needs to be a social contract, which defines justice as fairness . Rawls believed that the social
contract be created from an original position in which everyone decides on the rules for society
behind a veil of ignorance. In this essay, it will be argued that the veil of ignorance is an important
feature of the original position. First, the essay will describe what the veil of ignorance is.
Secondly, it will look at what Rawls means by the original position. Thirdly, it will look at why
the veil of ignorance is an important feature of the original position. Finally, the essay will present

Overall, the goal of the original position is to find out a fair and equal way to achieve the
principles of justice.
Why is The Veil of Ignorance an Important Feature of The Original Position? The main goal of
the original position is to set up a impartial procedure so that any principle agreed to will be fair
and just (Rawls, 1971). In order to create principles that are fair and just, people must nullify the
effects of specific contingencies which put men at odds and tempt them to exploit social and
natural circumstances to their own advantage. (Rawls, 1971, 136) In order to do this effectively,
Rawls argues that the parties involved have to be situated behind a veil of ignorance (Rawls,
1971). Without being behind the veil of ignorance, and if a knowledge of particulars is allowed,
then the outcome is biased by arbitrary contingencies. (Rawls, 1971, 141) Therefore, the
restrictions on the particular knowledge in the original position are of fundamental importance
(Rawls, 1971). Without the original position, the parties involved would not be able to work out
any definite principles of justice (Rawls, 1971). The society who does not enact a social contract
from the original position would then have to be content with a vague understanding of justice and
therefore have very little substance to the agreement itself (Rawls, 1971). The veil of ignorance
makes it possible to have a unanimous choice of a particular conception of justice (Rawls,

Use Of Pressure In Ender s Game By Orson Scott Card
With the advancement of technology new complex jobs exist. Who else to do the jobs, other than
humanity s own youth? The pressure for humanity s youth to succeed is greater than before, In
Ender s Game, Ender is always under pressure, and it takes its toll. Orson Scott Card uses the
character of Ender to demonstrate the pressure that human society puts on its youth to succeed
today, through Catharsis, Imagery and Symbolism
Catharsis is used multiple times to show the stress and pressure on Ender. Usually Catharsis in the
novel is the result of Ender s Stress

real Ender yells:

Catharsis is shown, as multiple yelling moments and multiple emotions are shown.
Unlike the previous scene, when Ender was yelling, in this scene, Ender is worn out, and while
Colonel Graff points out that some people want him dead, Ender replies:
And they want you dead. Fine with me! (Card 343)
As a nine year old child, Ender should be happy and energized, but what the reader sees through
the novel, Ender gets less like a child and the pressure from before, even though relieved, does still
take a toll on him, showing that pressure the human race puts on it s youth to succeed, even when
taken off,can still take its toll.
Through catharsis, In the novel, Ender s Game, Orson Scott card shows the reader real resemblance
through major pressures in the novel, and in reality s schools and lives.
Unlike catharsis, Imagery makes the reader sympathise for characters, and experience situations.
Orson Scott Card uses imagery to focus the reader s attention to details and exhaustion that Ender
feels.
In this scene, Ender is explaining negative points, about leading an army, not sleeping much and
having to bear losses. Orson Scott Card

Thomas Paine Questions
1. Why do you think Thomas Paine writes Common Sense anonymously? How does he think his
work will be remembered? Thomas Paine wrote Common Sense anonymously because the ideas he
used in writing the book were contradicting the government at that time. If the government knew
that he wrote it then they will take action against him to punish him. He probably thought that his
work would remain as something memorable such as it was only there to raise the spirit of the
colonist to fight back and to stand up against the government.

above the rest cannot be justified on the equal rights of nature, so neither can it be defended on
the authority of scripture; for the will of the Almighty (Gideon). From this quote of Gideon, we
can assume Gideon s point of views. He thinks that all men are equal and no one man can be
above the rest. He also thinks that only God can rule over people.
7. What does Paine think that America will gain by separating from England? According to Paine,
America will gain by separating from England is that it would not get contaminated by the
monarchy he has been criticizing. Then, America will gain wealth and most importantly it will gain
independence.

his reputation was before, during, and after writing Common Sense. On January 29, 1737,
Thomas Paine was born in Thetford, England. His father had grand visions for his son, but by the

Four Reasons To Resist
Four Reasons for Resistance
The first reason to resist is for emotional reasons. Many people have experienced abuse from
churches or Christians that were irritating. Some people come to terms with the fact that
embracing the Christianity religion would mean they are to accept and acknowledge that their
loved ones died/entered eternity without things like forgiveness or love. They have to
acknowledge that there is an eternity where loved ones can enter that is full of darkness, despair,
and endless suffering. For some people, the thought of those things can be too much to handle.
The second reason to resist is because of prejudice. This simply means the other person has
entered the conversation with a closed mind. They have already prejudged your point of view
before hearing what you had to say. The individual is only concerned with defending their
argument, and not being open minded to consider other views. The third reason to resist is due to
cultural influences. Koukl (2009) says, Often Christians defend their own denominational
peculiarities in a very biased way (p.158). They simply do not give any thought to the other side of
an argument. Lastly, people resist because they want to rebel against God. As a result, that is
something that man cannot fix; therefore, resisting the argument for this reason is valid. The ...

Sometimes the charge of being biased can be justified. When an individual has clearly chosen a
side, it does not mean he or she has conducted an even, equal analysis. On the other hand, the
individuals who are not considered neutral can still be fair in the argument. For example, a theist
believes in the different laws regarding nature, but he or she is also open to other possibilities
regarding the supernatural intervention. As a result, both of these ideas are constant with her
viewpoint of the world; therefore, she is then able to form an opinion on its own merit (Koukl, 2009,

The Impact Of Marketing On Online Marketing Essay
SMEs (Small and medium enterprises) come under various categories such as F B or Fashion or
lifestyle or IT or electronics or pharma or events or ecommerce brands and so on. The need for a
six figure marketing budget to make social work is a misconception.
In fact, small businesses are more likely to succeed with this kind of marketing as they get to
interact with a niche audience and social metrics can be used to understand their reach. This is
much better than paying heed to such misconceptions and including them in their marketing
strategy or business modules.
This media plays an important role in online marketing and is an ideal medium through which an
SME can acquire, nurture and increase leads. It also allows you to engage with your customer base,
while expanding it through referrals and recommendations.
But if it s so powerful, where are the measuring factors? It differs from enterprise to enterprise or
business to business. Some SMEs measure success using this marketing in terms of likes, reached
users, engaged users, sales and so on. Some of the known tools used to measure social reach are
simplymeasured.com, konnectsocial.com, tweetstats.com, and hashtracking.com.
There were the times when brands and SMEs used to believe that social media is a non
dependent medium. But now it is an important aspect of marketing tactics for ROI. The belief
that it is a fad is long gone. In fact, it is a powerful branding tool and has become an essential part

Donald Trump s Presidential Election Essay
Donald s Trump s victory in the 2016 election is very complex. The political mishaps that have
occurred since JFK s presidency reshaped the American psyche of who the president should be.
This chain of dissatisfaction with the federal government led the American people to hope for a
president who is honest, free of corruption, and supportive of the middle class. Trump recognized
the American need for a new kind of president and took on a persona that perfectly exemplified
this. The Trump Mythology is the belief that Donald Trumpis a transparent, honest politician;
however, this is only part of the equation. Belief in the Trump Mythology contributed to his victory,
but it is also important to acknowledge the respective roles of demographics, voter turnout, and
Hillary Clinton s flaws. An interesting difference between the Kennedy Mythology and the Trump
Mythology that is worth noting is the role of the media. Throughout the Kennedy Era, popular
media fed the people s fascination of Kennedy s Camelot, perpetuating the mythology. Donald
Trump, however, was largely hated by popular culture. American media ultimately discounted
Donald Trump as a viable contender for the presidency.
From the very beginning of his campaign trail, Donald Trump piqued America s interest with his
blunt and oftentimes shocking statements. With his candidacy came exclamations of making
America great, building walls, deporting illegal immigrants, and keeping jobs in the United States.

as simple as looking for a higher meaning to life, or something so complex that one can base their
beliefs, religion and overall life around it. There are several different ways to express one s
spirituality; rituals, songs, dances, stories, and writings are all common methods of expression.
Spirituality can be found in almost anything. Finding spirituality in something can make someone
feel enlightened and bring strong emotion and deep feeling. In some cases, people would be
willing to sacrifice nearly anything to help maintain the integrity of what they find to be spiritual.

Their spirituality is heavily influenced by nature. David Suzuki may very well be the most
popular scientist in all of Canada. In his book The Sacred Balance, Suzuki discusses his view that
people and the earth are all made of the same things and therefore we both need the same elements
to survive: earth, air, fire and water. For humans to lead rich lives, Suzuki also adds love and spirit
to the list. In the introduction to The Sacred Balance, Suzuki interviews a Haida Gwaii artist named
Guujaaw about the battle over clear cut logging in his native Queen Charlotte Islands. Although the
logging industry in the islands generated several much needed jobs, many of the Haida were
opposed to it. Guujaaw stated that after the trees were all gone, his people would be just like
everybody else, and they would not be Haida anymore. The fact that somebody would feel so
connected with the trees, to include them in their identity proves that spirituality can be found in
nature. For Gujarat s people the trees, the birds, the fish, the water, the wind are all parts of the
Haida identity. Their land, and everything on it, means so much to the Haida people that they
would be willing to sacrifice jobs and economy to keep the integrity of their culture, history, and
the land that is all a part of their identity. Joy Williams is an author known for her writings that

Socrates Vs Socrates
Socrates and Aristotle would think that philosophy was for the greater good and expanding the
minds of those around them. Socrates in particular would regard philosophy as conversational and
weeding out those who know and those who do not. Aristotle would use philosophy to try to reach
the conclusion on what happiness is. These great thinkers believed absolute contemplation was the
greatest pleasure human beings could reach, so for them philosophywas reaching a type of
Nirvana. Take the Apology as an example of what Socrates thought about philosophy. When
charged with atheism and corrupting the youth he defends himself by claiming he is an ignorant
man. Socrates is on a search for the wisest man after being told by an oracle that it is... Show more

Sadly, we know of Socrates fate and with him trying to change Athens for the better it backfires
on him. But, Socrates leaves those who attended his trial his with some final words that speak to
who he is and how he felt about what he was doing regarding his philosophy. If, I say, now, when,
as I conceive and imagine, God orders me to fulfil the philosopher s mission of searching into
myself and other men, I were to desert my post through fear of death, or any other fear; that
would indeed be strange, and I might justly be arraigned in court for denying the existence of the
gods, if I disobeyed the oracle because I was afraid of death: then I should be fancying that I was
wise when I was not wise. For this fear of death is indeed the pretence of wisdom, and not real
wisdom, being the appearance of knowing the unknown; since no one knows whether death, which
they in their fear apprehend to be the greatest evil, may not be the greatest good (Apology, Plato).
As I stated in my introduction Socrates and Aristotle believed that contemplative thought was the
highest form of human life. That this concept of thinking and attempting to answer life s hardest
questions was the best thing to occur to any human being. When looking at their point of view of
what is the highest kind of pleasure a human can achieve it begs the question if that is

Nuclear Technology Research Paper
The Discovery and Development of Nuclear Technology Man has always been interested in how
the world around him works. He wondered about the structure of matter,of which his world, as
well as our world, is made up. Countless scientists have been pondering that same question ever
since the beginning of time. In this paper you will read about just a few of the men and women that
broke the ground for the nuclear technology of today.
One of the first people to do this was a Greek philosopher named Anaxagoras in five hundred years
before Christ. He questioned what would happen if he cut in half a sample of matter, gold in his
case, and then half the halves and continue doing this. Anaxagoras theory stated that it would be ...

It was not until the renaissance that the ideas of Aristotle began to be disputed and people started
to accept the atomic theory of Democritus. One of the first people to speak out against Aristotle
was Francis Bacon. Bacon criticized the scientific thought of the ancients because it relied too
heavily on the philosophy behind things rather than experimental aspect of them. He did, however,
side with Democritus because the minute experimentation pointed in that direction. Another key
figure in the advancement of early atomic theory was Robert Boyle. Boyle ran experiments with
gasses in pumps and he studied the behavior of the volumes of the gasses as pressure was applied
or taken away from it. He observed that when a great pressure is applied, the volume of the gas
decreases. From these experiments he concluded that the gasses must be made up of small particle
with a somewhat large space in between them. Those particles were thought to be atoms. Another
great mind, Issac Newton, heard about Boyle s experiments, reviewed the observations, and
supported Boyle s theory. After years groundbreaking work by these great minds on Democritus
theory of an indestructible, eternal atom, it was finally accepted universally in 1895.
Now that everyone was sure that there were atoms, people could now start to learn more about
them and use them to better their daily lives. One of these men was a German scientist named
Wilhelm Rontgen. His major

Historical Context and Performance Reflection of Ocean Alley
Ocean Alley is an ensemble consisting of 6 musicians (guitarist/vocalist, lead guitarist, rhythm
guitarist, bassist, keyboardist and drummer), which was established in 2010 on the Northern
Beaches, Sydney. Ocean Alley is currently touring various local pubs around Sydney and is also
going to begin recording its next EP as of next month. The band encompasses elements of natural,
beat driven reggae as well as various components of psychedelic rock through a large number of
inspirations(Alley). This has given the band a highly diverse, unique sound of psychedelic rock
/reggae fusion(Alley). This review will examine the historical context in which this band has
grown from as well as the textural and structural characteristics in its live performance, as well as
in comparison to its studio recordings. It will focus on the compositions of Yellow Mellow and
Freedom Lover to highlight how the use of texture, density and the fusion of two genres can create
a highly distinctive sound that sets them apart from other ensembles.
One of the main genres that Ocean Alley has embraced is reggae. Reggae is a specific genre created
in Jamaica, formed through heavy rhythmical elements where the rhythm guitar can almost be seen
as a percussion instrument on its own through the use of the expressive technique known as
staccato. This, in combination with distinctive drum and bass rhythmic structures, as well as a
particular chord structure has created a genre that has combined elements of funk,

Colonial Liberty
In the early years of the colonies, how would the concept of liberty be viewed (or thought of)? In
the early years of the colonies the concept of liberty would increase over time. According to Rights
of Colonial Citizens video, Colonists in America saw the same rights that citizens in England did.
The colonists thought the had the same rights, even though they still came to America. The
colonists, in the end did get the same rights as the English and gained more rights, such as being
able to petition the king and a right to trial by jury. In Rights Of Colonial Citizens video stated, The
most important was the right to have a voice in government...The English people had long struggled

Having A Stroke
I m having a stroke. I m having a stroke. is a phrase we hear in the American Heart Associations
commercial about strokes. The fourth leading cause of death in America is strokes. In the United
States alone, forty percent of males die from having a stroke and sixty percent of females die from
having a stroke. When a person is having a stroke there is a lot someone can do to help that
person. However, do people actually know what a stroke is, what treatments are available, or how
to help lower the risk of stokes?
What exactly is a stroke? According to American STROKE Association, a stroke is defined as a
disease that affects the arteries leading to and within the brain. The blood vessels, in the brain, will

The patient should avoid illegal drugs. Illegal drugs can cause more pressure on the blood
vessels and thus causing the blood vessel to burst. This will cause the blood to leak into the
brain. Illegal drugs can also cut off blood flow to the brain, causing an ischemic stroke. Another
way to reduce stroke risks is by maintaining a healthy diet. This will lower the levels of
cholesterol in the blood and decrease the blood pressure. In return the blood vessels will not
become blocked or burst due to the constricted blood vessel walls. To go with the healthy diet the
patient should exercise regularly. If the patient is able to exercise five days a week, the risk of a
stroke would be vastly reduced. In a case where the patient has diabetes, they need to keep it
under control. According to webmd people with diabetes are at a two and half times higher risk
of a stroke than those without. Patients need to control the amount of alcohol consumed and quit
smoking if the patient smokes. If the patient drinks a lot of alcohol it will increase the body s
blood pressure. With an increased blood pressure the blood vessel walls can bust. When someone
smokes, their blood vessels are more likely to have a blood clot thus causing a stroke. If the patient
has any sleep apnea problems they should get them treated. A study by the American Academy of
Sleep Medicine has found that people with

life of Llewellyn Moss, a welder and Vietnam veteran, who happens to stumble upon several

Moss decides to seize the money and consequently sets off a chase for his life against the old

instrument of fate. The fate people brought upon themselves for the lack of power, a fate that

between free will and predestination. Chigurh s coin flipping settles what the victim will come

  • 2. Religious Influence Of Tolerance In The British Colonies Tolerance in the British colonies varied, mainly depending on the diversity levels where they were founded. In some of the colonies, there were laws established so the importance of Christianity would be conserved. Other colonies were welcoming to different religions, and executed either limited or full tolerance for those religions. Unfortunately, colonies that were bigoted enough to damage fabrications of differing religious views or the belief itself existed. Throughout the British colonies, different laws based off of religious view were formed in order to preserve Christianity and drive away any religion that didn t praise God. In Pennsylvania, there was a law enacted by the founder of the province, William Penn, that denied anyone to practice any religion that didn t recognize God as creator of the world. If anyone was to disobey this law, they would molested or would be prejudiced for their conflicting practice. Additionally, the law stated if someone weren t to worship God, and showed it outside of their own home, they would be considered a disturber of peace, and would be punished appropriately. A similar law was ratified previously in the charter of Rhode Island, where someone could be disquieted, punished, and called in for questioning if they had an opposing opinion of religion. Other laws that reinforced Christianity were stressed as well, like laws that prevented work on the Lord s Day, or Sunday, to instead worship God. Again in Pennsylvania, people were ... • 3. Romero Movie Analysis Of The Movie The movie Romero portrays the life of Archbishop Oscar Romero of El Salvador. Romero (1917 1980) was assassinated because of his protests against the horrors the government did against the people of El Salvador. I enjoyed this movie because of the deep themes and meanings that were revealed throughout. There was no fluff in this movie, and it boldly showed graphic images and scenes that portrayed the reality of the situation in El Salvador. Although there were times that some of the subplots were confusing, the overall plot of the movie was straightforward and easy to understand. The movie begins with a priest, Father Grande, encouraging the poor people to vote, but the voters are shot at by guerilla soldiers and the soldiers force the people to walk through the danger. This active work of the priest is observed by Romero who seems to disapprove of the Father Grande s disruption. At the beginning of the movie, Romero is quiet, submissive, and does not like to disturb the waters of thinly held peace. These traits earn him the spot of Archbishop of El Salvadorbecause the church leaders think he will remain uninvolved in political affairs. Despite the leaders hopes, this changes when Father Grande is killed. Romero begins to fully realize the horrors of the government, and he starts to take a stand for the people. He learns later that another priest was captured by the government and tortured by the government. This indicates that the government has little respect for the ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 4. Advantages And Disadvantages Of An Entrepreneur Buying A... An entrepreneur is someone who sets up their own business and take on financial risks in hope of making profit. There are many skills that an entrepreneur would have, some of these skills include focus, resilience, self reliance, ability to learn, ability to sell and the ability to take on risks (Forbes, 2013, online). A franchiseis an arrangement between the franchisor and franchisee where the franchisor will give the rights to the franchisee to use its trademark/trade name and some business systems to produce and market a good or service. There are two types of franchises, one is product distribution is where the trademark and logo is provided although the business systems are not provided. Another type is a business format franchise is where the product and trademark is used alongside the franchisee conducting the business itself such as the marketingplan and operations manual (An Introduction to Franchising, 2001, pg.2, eBook). This essay will be discussing the advantages and disadvantages of an entrepreneur buying a business format franchise. Some points that will be discussed in this essay are the costs, the level of support and certain restrictions when buying a franchise. An advantage of an entrepreneur buying a franchise is that there will be a higher rate of success than when owning a start up business (Queensland Government, 2016, Online). This would be beneficial for the entrepreneur buying the franchise because it will help to generate more profit and ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 5. Christ And The Holy Spirit. Introduction. This Week We CHRIST AND THE HOLY SPIRIT INTRODUCTION This week we studied Pneumatology, the doctrine of the Holy Spirit. It was an opportunity to learn about this unsung hero of the Trinity who, though ever present with us, we seldom mention or think of and often do not give the respect he merits. In this paper, we will address the relationship between the Holy Spirit and Jesus resurrection and ascension and how the Holy Spirit is involved in those events. We will also examine the Holy Spirit s work of regeneration and its impact on believers in the church. SUMMARY When Jesus ascended into heaven, he sent the Holy Spirit to the church. (Lecture 3). He was returning to the Father, and he left the Holy Spirit here to help all humanity. While Jesus... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Through the Holy Spirit, Jesus remains the shepherd king for all creation. And it s not only the Holy Spirit who is with everyone but the Father as well. In John 14:23 we hear, Jesus answered, Whoever loves me will keep my word. My Father will love them, and we will come to them and make our home with them. (CEB, emphasis added). This opportunity for Trinitarian indwelling is the reason Jesus told his disciples it would be to their advantage for him to go away. (John 16:7). (Morrison, 2007). REGENERATIVE WORK The Holy Spirit gives life. It was he who breathed life into God s creation and the beginning of time. He raised Jesus from the dead. He brings humanity regeneration by causing the hearts of man to have faith in Jesus. (Lecture 3). There are Biblical reference to this changed heart in Matthew 19:8, John 3:3, 5 7 and Titus 3:5. Regeneration is new birth. It is the Holy Spirit s working within a person to change their sinful heart so that they can respond to God. (Bird, 2013). Regeneration/new birth through the Holy Spirit is referenced in Genesis 2:7 and John 20:22. In both verses, the spirit that is inhaled is not completely exhaled but rather remains in the body to give new life to the recipient. (Weissenrieder, 2014, p. 60). Perhaps Jesus breathing on the disciples is the answer to Nicodemus question as to how one can be born again after growing old! (Weissenrieder, 2014). The regeneration a person receives from the Holy Spirit is a new birth. ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 6. Examples Of Patriotism Or Love For Motherland Patriotism Or, Love for Motherland Introduction: patriotism is one of the most sterling qualities of human life. Patriotism rouses in him a feeling of pride and glory. Home, home, sweet home; there is no place like home. Utility of patriotism: the utility of patriotism is too much to be described. Islam says Patriotism is a part of religion . Motherland actually stands next to one s mother. A country cannot achieve her desired development without the patriotic zeal and sincere participation of her people. Patriotism inspires a man to shed even the last drop of his blood to defend the freedom and honor of his country. A people can neither defend their freedom nor resist foreign aggression or free their country from foreign domination without being inspired by the patriotic feelings. Fate of an unpatriotic: most hatred is the fate of an unpatriotic. A man without patriotism cannot be called a man in the truest sense of the term. He is worse than a beast. He is said to be a man with a dead soul. Sir Walter Scott says, Breathes there the man with soul so dead, Who has never to himself hath said this is my own, my native land. He is looked down upon by one and all in the society. He lives a miserable life and dies and ignoble death. He dies unwept, un honored and unsung. Let me quote the poet, Living shall forfeit fair renown, And doubly dying shall go down. The world history of the unpatriotic persons bears out the fact well. Sirajuddowla, the last independent nabob of bangle, had to meet with a tragic defeat and death in the battle of Plessey due to the conspiracy of the traitors like Mirjafar, Umichand and others. Throughout these years, the country has gone through a lot of political changes. Many wars have been fought and inhumane practices have been abolished. Women have fought for their right to vote and minorities have fought for their right to be equal. The ability for citizens to make these changes is what makes our republic so great. However, for every person that has a certain political view, there are just as many that have the opposite. This has led to the Unites States having mainly a two party system, the parties being the Democratic and Republican Party. • 8. The Merger Is A Final Reorganization Essay 1.The merger is a qualifying reorganization. It is a forward triangular merger, В§368(a)(2)(D), because the parent (ODI) created a subsidiary (Atlantic) with the contribution of its stock (the ODI Nonvoting Preferred Stock), and then the target (CPI) merges into the subsidiary (Atlantic). CPI s shareholders will receive the nonvoting preferred stockof ODI, and CPI will disappear. The requirements necessary under В§368(a)(2)(D) is that the subsidiary acquires substantially all of the target s assets, which will be 90% of net and 70% of gross. This does occur because Atlantic acquires all of CPI s assets and liabilities. Typically, stripping off a target s assets are prohibited, but in this case the subsidiary is acquiring the cash received from the sale of the tools division. Another requirement is that the target s shareholders only receive stock of the parent and not the subsidiary, and in this case, the stock transferred to CPI s shareholders are all ODI s stock. Another requirement is that the target is merged into the subsidiary, which does occur; CPI merges into Atlantic and Atlantic survives. The final requirements are the judicial authority requirements. There is a continuity of shareholder s interest test, just like required in a type A merger. Even though not all three shareholders of CPI receive shares of ODI, Harry s and Teresa s ownership is greater than 50% of CPI. Harry owns 60% (300/500) of CPI and Teresa owns 22% (110/500) of CPI. However, there would also be differences as well. Blood flow would be increased to the abdominal portions for both male and female. However, this increased blood flow would create different environments for both. • 11. Ralph Waldo Emerson Analysis Ralph Waldo Emerson gave a speech to the men of the Phi Beta Kappa Society at Cambridge University entitled The American Scholar in 1837. The speech focused on the main ideas of transcendentalism as well as how different factors in society affect man s ability to realize that they are their own individuals. Harold Bloom, a well known literary critic who evaluated topics such as the bible and Shakespeare, believed that Emerson s writing was the template for all future authors. Bloom believed that adversity allows people to have a deeper understanding of the world. However, Emerson focused on the loss of knowledge in the society due to the misunderstanding of younger generations in his time period while Bloom mainly focused on how Emerson s views on individualism and transcendentalism affected all writing whether admitted or not. Harold Bloom was correct in his critique, Out of Panic, Self Reliance published in 2008, when he confirmed Ralph Waldo Emersons view point in his speech The American Scholar (1837) stating that overcoming adversity is an essential part to gaining wisdom and forming self reliance by comparing it to current political events in order to show once again that Ralph Waldo Emerson was very influential to not only authors but to the overall evolution of man s thoughts. It can be inferred from Emerson that the adversity that he so deeply describes throughout his speech could be man s eternal struggle to discover his own self reliance and experience real world connections instead of just reading about them and not fully understanding or even comprehending the meaning of what is being read. Ralph Waldo Emerson separates society into two groups known as Man Thinking ( Emerson 2) who has allowed himself to be open to new ways of life and understanding and Mere thinkers (Emerson 2) who simply follow the trends and patterns society without any thought of their own. He believes the Mere thinkers are inevitable lost in adversity and do not fully understand transcendentalist ideas. Nevertheless, it will never be too late to find self reliance and contribute an opinion to the world thus diversifying society. When people finally rise above adversity they recognize the god within themselves ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 12. Symptoms And Treatment Of The Blood Brain Barrier There are many expecting mothers who suffer from serious mental illnesses like schizophrenia, bipolar disorder, or borderline personality disorder that requires they must take antipsychotic drugs to remain stable. There are different types of antipsychotics like typical and atypical. Typical antipsychotics are classified as the first generation of antipyschotics. The atypical antipsychotics, the second generation, are reported to be safer than the typical antipsychotics because they are the newer form of antipsychoticmedication. Even though they are reported to be safer, they still have severe side effects on the individual consuming it, like tardive dyskinesia, which are uncontrollable movements of the mouth (McCauley et al., 2009). Some drugs can affect the fetusby transferring to the blood brain barrier. The blood brain barrier is a permeable barrier that allows some chemicals to pass through. It separates the circulating blood from the brain extracellular fluid in the central nervous system. The blood brain barrier also transports molecules to the brain that are essential to function properly, like glucose and amino acids. Since capillary endothelial cells, which line the whole circulatory system, form the blood brain barrier the medication could be transported to the fetus. From ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 13. George S. Patton Jr, Visionary Leadership George S. Patton Jr, Visionary, Not Ethical Leadership General Patton once said Moral courage is the most valuable and usually the most absent characteristic in men (A quote by George S. Patton Jr, n.d.) He did not know that would describe both his positive example of visionary leadership and his inability to practice ethical leadershipall at the same time. His performance during World War II offers great examples of his visionary leadership by utilizing inspirational motivation, idealized influence, and overall embodying transformational leadership. Despite his influence, he illustrated a lack of ethical leadership by falling into the ethical dilemma of competing values and not using the 5 Step Ethical Decision Making Process. General Patton was a visionary leader that showed a lack of ethical leadership, which motivates me into being a better leader in the Wing Inspector Generals (IG) office. To do so, a better understanding of his visionary leadership is required. Visionary Leadership General Patton s actions during World War II led using his ability to be a visionary leader through transformational leadership tactics that were years ahead of current tactics. According to Axelrod (2006), he was given the nickname Old Blood and Guts for telling those under his command that they will be up to their necks in blood and guts (Axelrod, 2006, p. 2). Although there is not much dialog in the story, when there is, it is really meaningful and it serves a good purpose in the story and it helps advance the plot. Even though this country is on the lower end of death rate due to traffic accidents in the world, it is still too high for anyone s liking. I m here to propose to you some methods to lower the annual traffic fatalities. Many accidents are caused by high risk drivers. A high risk driver is someone who insurance companies feel are likely to lose them money, due to traffic violations such as getting in a crash while not wearing seatbelts. Though accidents that become fatal due to lack of seatbelt can also be caused by the passengers. It is estimated that if everyone wore seatbelts, up to 300 lives could be saved each year. If we were to make the alarm go off for every seat and not able to be turned off until after everyone is buckled, it would motivate people to use their seatbelts. Another possibility would be to install ignition interlocks, making it impossible to start the car until everyone is buckled. Another way to increase seatbelt usage would be to increase the police enforcement, specifically during the night. Surveys have shown that seatbelt usage is 5 10% lower at night. If there is more enforcement during the night, not only would people not wearing seatbelts be caught more often, but it would increase the likelihood that someone else would wear their seatbelts as they wouldn t want to get fined. This was utilized in North Carolina during and experimental time frame in 2007, and increased the usage by 10%. Finally we have this, this is a feedback sign. • 21. The Framework Of Laws And Rules That Govern The... The framework of laws and rules that govern the administration of justice in cases involving an individual who has been accused of a crime. This process is begun with the initial investigation of the crime committed and following up with either the unconditional release from an acquittal, or by granting one with a term punishment depending on the severity of the crime. As a safeguard, criminal proceedings are against the indiscriminate application of criminal laws. Laws are designed and used in order to enforce the constitution written by our founding fathers. The american criminal justice process begins with the initial police contact and continuing through an arrest, investigation, trial, sentencing, and appeals. The first step in the process is the investigation. Once an offender initially commits a crime and officers are contacted and make an arrest, they have to investigate further into the crime at hand. Evidence is then gathered and follow up investigations attempt to put the pieces on chronological order to show what happened before and during the time of the crime. There are also many efforts to identify some possible suspects to further the next step of the criminal justice process. The next stage to the process of finding a criminal offender is getting the judge to agree to a warrant. A warrant provides the legal basis for an apprehension of a suspect. Once officers have their warrant, they will be able to search for more evidence that may pertin ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Funerary art has played a large role in burial and celebrating the journey and accomplishments of the dead. The funerary monuments of the Greeks and the Romans were elaborate and provided a relic for the dead to ensure them safe travels to the afterlife. Greek concepts of burials consisted of the belief that when one died they went to the kingdom of Hades and Persephone. Women performed the burialrituals, and it involved laying out the body (prothesis) and the funeral procession (ekphora). The Romans performed a burial, where it would end in a columbarium (underground chamber). In the columbarium, is where the Romans preserved the ashes of the dead. Overall, the goal of the original position is to find out a fair and equal way to achieve the principles of justice. Why is The Veil of Ignorance an Important Feature of The Original Position? The main goal of the original position is to set up a impartial procedure so that any principle agreed to will be fair and just (Rawls, 1971). In order to create principles that are fair and just, people must nullify the effects of specific contingencies which put men at odds and tempt them to exploit social and natural circumstances to their own advantage. (Rawls, 1971, 136) In order to do this effectively, Rawls argues that the parties involved have to be situated behind a veil of ignorance (Rawls, 1971). Without being behind the veil of ignorance, and if a knowledge of particulars is allowed, then the outcome is biased by arbitrary contingencies. (Rawls, 1971, 141) Therefore, the restrictions on the particular knowledge in the original position are of fundamental importance (Rawls, 1971). Without the original position, the parties involved would not be able to work out any definite principles of justice (Rawls, 1971). The society who does not enact a social contract from the original position would then have to be content with a vague understanding of justice and therefore have very little substance to the agreement itself (Rawls, 1971). The veil of ignorance makes it possible to have a unanimous choice of a particular conception of justice (Rawls, ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 36. Four Reasons To Resist Four Reasons for Resistance The first reason to resist is for emotional reasons. Many people have experienced abuse from churches or Christians that were irritating. Some people come to terms with the fact that embracing the Christianity religion would mean they are to accept and acknowledge that their loved ones died/entered eternity without things like forgiveness or love. They have to acknowledge that there is an eternity where loved ones can enter that is full of darkness, despair, and endless suffering. For some people, the thought of those things can be too much to handle. The second reason to resist is because of prejudice. This simply means the other person has entered the conversation with a closed mind. They have already prejudged your point of view before hearing what you had to say. The individual is only concerned with defending their argument, and not being open minded to consider other views. The third reason to resist is due to cultural influences. Koukl (2009) says, Often Christians defend their own denominational peculiarities in a very biased way (p.158). They simply do not give any thought to the other side of an argument. The Impact Of Marketing On Online Marketing Essay SMEs (Small and medium enterprises) come under various categories such as F B or Fashion or lifestyle or IT or electronics or pharma or events or ecommerce brands and so on. The need for a six figure marketing budget to make social work is a misconception. In fact, small businesses are more likely to succeed with this kind of marketing as they get to interact with a niche audience and social metrics can be used to understand their reach. This is much better than paying heed to such misconceptions and including them in their marketing strategy or business modules. This media plays an important role in online marketing and is an ideal medium through which an SME can acquire, nurture and increase leads. The reverse roll of the patient showing empathy for the nurses experience is overshadowing the patients response. The patient explains you ll feel a lot better later on indicating she has experienced this process of quitting smoking. Empathy is crucial to understanding the perceptions of another person s experience and listening to the patients thoughts is important. However, this approach could have been improved by the nurse observing the patients verbal and non verbal cues, rephrasing the question to obtain the patients personal experience with smoking, taking back control of the interview. While it is imperative to that the nurse listens to the patient, being fully present and actively engaged (Shipley 2010), it is equally important that the nurse gain all the necessary information about the patient despite the momentary diversion of attention. • 40. Donald Trump s Presidential Election Essay Donald s Trump s victory in the 2016 election is very complex. The political mishaps that have occurred since JFK s presidency reshaped the American psyche of who the president should be. This chain of dissatisfaction with the federal government led the American people to hope for a president who is honest, free of corruption, and supportive of the middle class. Trump recognized the American need for a new kind of president and took on a persona that perfectly exemplified this. The Trump Mythology is the belief that Donald Trumpis a transparent, honest politician; however, this is only part of the equation. Belief in the Trump Mythology contributed to his victory, but it is also important to acknowledge the respective roles of demographics, voter turnout, and Hillary Clinton s flaws. An interesting difference between the Kennedy Mythology and the Trump Mythology that is worth noting is the role of the media. Throughout the Kennedy Era, popular media fed the people s fascination of Kennedy s Camelot, perpetuating the mythology. Donald Trump, however, was largely hated by popular culture. American media ultimately discounted Donald Trump as a viable contender for the presidency. From the very beginning of his campaign trail, Donald Trump piqued America s interest with his blunt and oftentimes shocking statements. With his candidacy came exclamations of making America great, building walls, deporting illegal immigrants, and keeping jobs in the United States. A Google search ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 41. Spirituality Essay Spirituality can have many different definitions, depending on who is asked. It can be something as simple as looking for a higher meaning to life, or something so complex that one can base their beliefs, religion and overall life around it. There are several different ways to express one s spirituality; rituals, songs, dances, stories, and writings are all common methods of expression. Spirituality can be found in almost anything. Finding spirituality in something can make someone feel enlightened and bring strong emotion and deep feeling. In some cases, people would be willing to sacrifice nearly anything to help maintain the integrity of what they find to be spiritual. The earth is found in many cultures to be regarded as highly... In his book The Sacred Balance, Suzuki discusses his view that people and the earth are all made of the same things and therefore we both need the same elements to survive: earth, air, fire and water. For humans to lead rich lives, Suzuki also adds love and spirit to the list. In the introduction to The Sacred Balance, Suzuki interviews a Haida Gwaii artist named Guujaaw about the battle over clear cut logging in his native Queen Charlotte Islands. Although the logging industry in the islands generated several much needed jobs, many of the Haida were opposed to it. Guujaaw stated that after the trees were all gone, his people would be just like everybody else, and they would not be Haida anymore. The fact that somebody would feel so connected with the trees, to include them in their identity proves that spirituality can be found in nature. For Gujarat s people the trees, the birds, the fish, the water, the wind are all parts of the Haida identity. Their land, and everything on it, means so much to the Haida people that they would be willing to sacrifice jobs and economy to keep the integrity of their culture, history, and the land that is all a part of their identity. Socrates in particular would regard philosophy as conversational and weeding out those who know and those who do not. Aristotle would use philosophy to try to reach the conclusion on what happiness is. These great thinkers believed absolute contemplation was the greatest pleasure human beings could reach, so for them philosophywas reaching a type of Nirvana. Sadly, we know of Socrates fate and with him trying to change Athens for the better it backfires on him. But, Socrates leaves those who attended his trial his with some final words that speak to who he is and how he felt about what he was doing regarding his philosophy. If, I say, now, when, as I conceive and imagine, God orders me to fulfil the philosopher s mission of searching into myself and other men, I were to desert my post through fear of death, or any other fear; that would indeed be strange, and I might justly be arraigned in court for denying the existence of the gods, if I disobeyed the oracle because I was afraid of death: then I should be fancying that I was wise when I was not wise. For this fear of death is indeed the pretence of wisdom, and not real wisdom, being the appearance of knowing the unknown; since no one knows whether death, which they in their fear apprehend to be the greatest evil, may not be the greatest good (Apology, Plato). As I stated in my introduction Socrates and Aristotle believed that contemplative thought was the highest form of human life. That this concept of thinking and attempting to answer life s hardest questions was the best thing to occur to any human being. When looking at their point of view of what is the highest kind of pleasure a human can achieve it begs the question if that is ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

In this paper you will read about just a few of the men and women that broke the ground for the nuclear technology of today. One of the first people to do this was a Greek philosopher named Anaxagoras in five hundred years before Christ. Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... It was not until the renaissance that the ideas of Aristotle began to be disputed and people started to accept the atomic theory of Democritus. One of the first people to speak out against Aristotle was Francis Bacon. Bacon criticized the scientific thought of the ancients because it relied too heavily on the philosophy behind things rather than experimental aspect of them. He did, however, side with Democritus because the minute experimentation pointed in that direction. Another key figure in the advancement of early atomic theory was Robert Boyle. Boyle ran experiments with gasses in pumps and he studied the behavior of the volumes of the gasses as pressure was applied or taken away from it. He observed that when a great pressure is applied, the volume of the gas decreases. From these experiments he concluded that the gasses must be made up of small particle with a somewhat large space in between them. Those particles were thought to be atoms. Another great mind, Issac Newton, heard about Boyle s experiments, reviewed the observations, and supported Boyle s theory. After years groundbreaking work by these great minds on Democritus theory of an indestructible, eternal atom, it was finally accepted universally in 1895. Now that everyone was sure that there were atoms, people could now start to learn more about them and use them to better their daily lives.
