Nationalism And National Identity
Nationalism is a source of modernization and political legitimacy, especially in Latin American
countries such as Nicaragua, Argentina, and Mexico. An inclusive national identity can serve as a
means for the development of belonging, and this globally acclaimed notion of diversity is attractive
for nations struggling to find their footing in the international community. Looking towards the future,
the key to achieving this inclusion is the use of culture, specifically employing music as a tool of
integration. However, the decisive variable here is adolescents. Though these popular music forms
may be the music of the people, they are ultimately dictated by the youth. In modern times, music is
integral for youth as they delve into discourses of identity and equality, so focusing in on marginalized
youth gives the government an opportunity to explore attitudes and national inclusion among
individuals who are in a critical period of development. Even though teens are influenced by their
parents beliefs during childhood before advancing their own views, youth are ultimately the starting
point for incorporating ostracized groups into nationalist discourses because they are the developers
and executors of music movements. Furthermore, the attitudes of young people regarding inclusion
and exclusion provide an indication for the sustainability of such diverse national identities in the
future.
In Nicaragua, discourses of identity became prominent following the success of the

Grendel and Cain and how they relate in Beowulf
Grendel and Cain
In the story of Beowulf you get a glimpse of many different themes throughout this epic. Those
themes range from good and evil to those of death and glory. The story itself depicts a period in
history when life was lead blind through the teachings of the book of the lord and his spoken words.
At this same period in history traditional pagan religious practices and beliefs have slowly given way
to the ideals and philosophy of Christianity. Many of the themes held within the pages of Beowulf
stem from the proverbs and fables recited and practiced in the Old Testament, while concurrently
adding pagan beliefs of monsters, demons, and multiple gods. The most striking of these biblical
comparisons is viewed between Grendel ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
For his sin he was expelled from Eden. From that day on he led the life of an exile, doomed to be a
fugitive and wanderer in the earth (Gen. 4:12) and denied the rights of a normal man, only to bare the
mark of a sinner and warning to others. With this Cain walked into the land of Nod (unknown, evil,
dark), only to leave a legacy felt by the generations of his offspring.
When Cain killed Able, he ignited the eternal flame of a cursed family. From Cain s blood came the
curse of his exile and sprang ogres and elves and evil phantoms and the giants too (Beowulf. Pg. 35),
darkness entailed is legacy and evil embodied his future. Grendel is a descendant of Cain, so he shares
Cain s exile from all that is good and light. Cain may have been the first displaced person after Adam
and Eve, but he was not the last. Grendel shares his ancestor s punishment, he is exiled not only from
whatever land or wealth he would have had if he were human , but he is also abandoned by God and
all who followed and indulge in his faith and grandeur. It is this abandonment that causes Grendel to
destroy and murder. The treasure seat, he was kept from approaching; he was the Lords outcast
(Beowulf pg.36), since he cannot approach the throne of the Lord like the rest of mankind, he chooses
to attempt to destroy it. He has no love for God and his children if he can not be with them hand in
hand . However, unlike Cain and his parents, Grendel is doomed from

The Ethics of Boeing and Mr. Harry Stonecipher Essay
Harry Stonecipher and the ethics of Boeing
Should Harry Stonecipher have been fired for having a consensual affair with another executive at
Boeing Aircraft? The answer is most decidedly yes. In many people s eyes this affair could have
violated the company s code of conduct, and went against the reason Harry Stonecipher was hired. His
actions showed flaws in his character that could have been damaging to the company had he been
allowed to stay. The Boeing board of directors had no other choice than to tender Mr. Stonecipher s
resignation.
It was stated in an article in the March 2008 Tribune Business News that, Although the relationship
did not directly violate Boeing s code of conduct, the board determined that there were ... Show more

Stoneciphers infraction?
Mr. Stonecipher was hired to clean up Boeing, and to keep the company out of the ethical spotlight. It
was therefore his duty to live by the standards he enforced. If he was unable to do that, then he should
have stepped down as CEO before this extra marital affair was brought to light. Hypocrisy is no way
to lead a company. It will only cause dissension among peers and employees.
Senior leaders of a company are the moral rocks that the company bases its values on. If a leader
demonstrates strong moral values and a desire to do what is considered right by the majority of his
employees his attitude will, after a time become infectious. The majority of his employees will begin
to emulate his actions, and begin to modify their values to meet his. This would result in increased
productivity and a more pleasant work environment. At the same time, if that same leader were to
demonstrate questionable values and a do as I say not as I do attitude the same thing would occur. The
majority of his employees would begin to lower their moral values and the overall productivity of the
company would suffer.
Although Mr. Stonecipher was unable to live up to his duties of keeping Boeing out of the ethical
spotlight and setting the standard for his employees to follow, the Boeing board of directors did just
that. By requiring Mr. Stonecipher to tender his resignation they

Tsunamis Essay
Environmental Science
Tsunamis
A tsunami (soo NAH mee) is a series of waves that occur in an ocean or other large body of water and
that are caused by some activity that displaces big amounts of water. Tsunami is the Japanese word for
quot;harbor wave. quot;
Earthquakes that occur on the seafloor or in coastal areas usually cause tsunamis.
The energy generated by the earthquake is transmitted through the water. In deep oceans the energy in
these seismic sea waves can travel virtually unnoticed because the wave height may be only twelve
inches. When this energy reaches the shallow waters of coastlines, bays, or harbors, it forces the water
into a giant wave. Some ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Fishermen twenty miles out to sea didn t notice the wave pass under their boats because it only had a
height at the time of about fifteen inches. They were totally unprepared for the devastation that
awaited them when they returned to the port of
Sanriku. Twenty eight thousand people were killed and 170 miles of coastline were destroyed by the
wave that had passed under them.
Tsunamis in deep water can have a wavelength greater than 300 miles (500
2)
kilometers) and a period of about an hour. This is very different from the normal
California tube, which generally has a wavelength of about 300 feet (100 meters) and a time of about
ten seconds. (The period of a wave is the time between two successive waves.) Tsunamis are shallow
water waves, which means that the ratio between water depth and wavelength is very small. These
shallow water waves move at a speed equal to the square root of the product of the acceleration of
gravity (9.8m/s/s) and the water depth.
The deeper the water, the faster and shorter the wave is. For example, when the ocean is
20,000 feet deep, a tsunami travels at 550 miles per hour. At this speed, the wave can compete with a
jet airplane, traveling across the ocean in less than a day.
Another important factor in considering tsunamis is the rate at which they lose energy. Because a
wave loses energy at a rate inversely related to its

Synthesis Essay On The Melting Pot
The United States has a motto, e pluribus unum, that suggests that in America, embracing diversity
creates unity. Long ago, during the 1900s, assimilation was considered to be crucial in order for a
naturalization process to occur. Immigrants were forced to assimilate and adopt to the American
culture, in which they had never been introduced to before. Over time, things evolved and changed to
the point where people began to assimilate to a certain point, but still have their cultural traditions,
giving America a nickname known as the Melting Pot. America being known as The Melting Pot,
defends the claim that in today s society, The United States of America is moving toward a new
standard in which diversity and individuality are encouraged more than uniformity and conformity.
Before a naturalization ceremony occurs, the United States citizens still have their cultural ideas and
languages being spoken along with them. In Source 1, it s a picture of citizens all waving American
flags, with a subtitle of, New U.S. Citizens wave American flags before being sworn in at a
naturalization ceremony. This is proving that even though the citizens have not yet been fully
naturalized, they still have their culture along with ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

then, and the possibility, there is this truth: America is white no longer, and it will never be white
again. This evidence is proving that it doesn t mean much to be assimilated into American culture, but
to be spirited as an American. This issue has disappeared over time, as this source is stating that
America is white no longer and will never be white again. This is meaning that America is known as
the melting pot nowadays, and is not considered white

Nacl Environmental Impact
Enviornmental Impact and Financial Burden Chloride deicing agents are the most commonly used
freezing point depression agents. NaCl is the most commonly used because the low cost and high
attainability. Studies have shown that different salts are more effective depending on circumstance
(Warrington, 1998). The largest environmental impact seems to stem from the misuse of different
deicers and can have detrimental effects on the surrounding environment including vegetation,
wildlife, and soil (Buckler and Granato, 1999). The most quantifiable impact is that of the cations and
anions into drinking water and the degradation observed of the environment in the area surrounding
the misused deicers (Bryson and Barker, 2002). Bryson and Barker (2002) ... Show more content on

The first factor was in regards to the actual effectiveness of the deicer by examining freezing point
depression and enthalpy of dissolution. In order to examine freezing point depression, different
amount of NaCl were added to water and the change in temperature was measured. The results
showed that as the amount of solute increased, so did the change in temperature. Enthalpy of
dissolution was also examined in an attempt to find whether or not the reaction between a deicing
agent and water would be endothermic or exothermic. NaCl and KCl were both found to be
endothermic, while CaCl2 and MgCl2 were found to be exothermic. Based on the ability to depress
freezing point, and the exothermic reactivity, MgCl2 was found to be the most effective deicing agent.
Impact on the environment was also examined. Although all Chloride based deicing compounds are
detrimental to the environment, much of the problem stems from the amount of cations which seep
into the surrounding area. Under the preceding notion, MgCl2 was found to be the most environmental
friendly as it holds the greatest potential for freezing point depression and exothermic reactivity
amongst the compounds examined. This means that for every one unit of MgCl2 used, significantly
more units of another compound would be necessary. But, due to factors such as humidity, MgCl2 and
CaCl2 are not the choice by state officials as they have potential to

Source: own spss computation, 2017
According to the finding in the above table the regression equation was
Y = 1.381+ 0.168 X1 + 0.389 X2+ 0.636X3 + 0.304X4
Where Y is the dependent variable (effectiveness of inventory management), X1 is procurement
procedure, X2 is Funding, X3 is the staff skill X4 is Documentation.
The strength of each predictor (independent) variable influence on the dependent variable can be
investigated via standardized Beta coefficient. Hence, the regression coefficient explain the average
amount of change in dependent variable that caused by a unit of change in the independent variable.
Therefore, as shown the table above fund is the most contributing factor in the prediction of
effectiveness of inventory management in Este woreda public sector with beta value 0.359 followed

The Pros And Cons Of Nurture
As you sit watching the evening news, a story comes on explaining that a man was arrested for killing
an innocent family in a random neighborhood. You ask yourself, How could a person do something so
cruel? For years, people have researched what makes a person a criminal. Are we born with the
qualities that make us a criminal or do we develop those qualities through the experiences we
encounter in our lifetime? Answering this decade old question requires comparing and contrasting
both sides of the theory concerning human development. Is human development the result of nature,
nurture, or a combination of both? Criminal like behavior and characteristics develop because of
experiences throughout our lifetime, but in some cases, there may be a few exceptions as to why a
person becomes a criminal (Mcleod, Saul). What is nurture? Nurture is the term in psychology used to
explain that environmental factors have an impact on human development. Influences such as
childhood experiences, our upbringing, and socioeconomic status can have an impact on our
personality and the person we become. According to many people who study psychology and lifespan
development, nurture contributes the most when it comes to the development of humans because
external factors potentially leave the biggest impact on the human brain (What is Nurture?). How does
nurture work? Nurture can be described in many ways. For instance, imagine a man who abuses his
family, both mentally and physically. Was the

Essay on Setting in One Flew Over the Cuckoos Nest
Ken Kesey s One Flew Over the Cuckoo s Nest is a unique fiction novel about oppression and
rebellion in an American 1950 s Mental Hospital. In this highly distinctive novel, setting definitely
refers to the interior, the interiors of the Institution. It also refers to the period this novel this was set
in, the 50 s, 60 s where McCarthyism was dominant. Furthermore, it has great symbolic value,
representing issues such as the American struggle of freedom and conformity. This essay shall discuss
the setting amp; its significance towards Ken Kesey s One Flew over the Cuckoo s Nest .

The interiors are also significant as it is a representation of how society applied their expectations of
each other. Throughout the McCarthy period, there was the great threat of the Russians, the
communists, who could potentially use nuclear technology to attack America. Also, any person who
unpatriotically supported communism was harshly dealt with. These events were represented in an
exact scale model of the Mental Institution. Anyone who dared to cause an uproar was humiliated in
group therapy sessions, or given Electroshock Therapy, or in extreme cases such as McMurphy,
lobotomy. In the hospital, McMurphy represented the rebel, the opposer to the Combine
(McCarthyism), the one who wanted to break free of society s conformity.
Setting is also important, as it refers to the period this book was set in, the 1950 s. Ultimately, it is a
reflection of what was happening in American society at the time, and what American society
expected from each other. McCarthyism, as started by Senator Joseph McCarthy, was the most
prevalent movement of the 1950 s, where there was great momentum for anti communism and the
suppression of the Anti communist party. Freedom of speech was suppressed, just like speech and
actions were inside the hospital. Here, the

Dreams, By Sigmund Freud
A person s dreams appear to have a universal language. In ancient societies, people looked at
dreaming as some kind of supernatural communication and dreams are fascinating mysteries. To begin
the discussion of dreams, it is important to note that dreams are often considered an extension of
consciousness. In other words, dreams can be a way the brain organizes and analyzes the day to day
events during sleep. Everyone dreams, however, not everyone remembers their dreams. The
psychoanalyst, Sigmund Freud, theorized that dreams bury themselves in unconscious emotions and
as we sleep our mind releases these emotions in the form of dreams. He also theorized that dreams are
ways in which people act out suppressed desires. The Interpretation of ... Show more content on

This theory was a good method of explaining dreams, but it did not predict behavior. In other words,
one cannot prove or refute the validity of Freud s theory. According to Ciccarelli and White (2015),
many of today s professionals no longer appreciate Freud s dream theory (151). Nevertheless, Freud s
legacy lives on as The Father of Psychoanalysis (Robinson 2011) and a pioneer in the study of dreams.
Even though, the theory proposed by Freud appears decidedly unscientific. The unconscious mind was
important in Freud s work and the Freudian theory emphasized that the unconscious mind governed
behavior.
Additionally, to study Freud, one must investigate his theory of manifest content and latent content.
While reading Freud, a student learns that the actual content of the dream refers to manifest content.
That is to say, the exact subject matter of the dream makes up the manifest content. At the same time,
Freud believed that the real meaning of a dream referred to latent content. An individual s personal
interpretations define the latent content in Freud s theory. Although rarely recognized, Freud s career
was first and foremost a practitioner Moran 2010). As a psychotherapist Freud believed that dreams
come from deep in the unconscious mind. Perhaps even from things suppressed since childhood. The
study of dreams helped Freud understand the process of psychoanalyzing people and he believed
dreams were a

What are C and OOP?
C is an advanced, high level programming language ( Computer languages ) that is used to develop
powerful applications for Microsoft® Windows®, many Linux environments, and other well known
and widely used operating systems. C is quickly becoming the standard language for commercial
software development (Oualline).
OOP, an abbreviation for object oriented programming is simply code that attempts to place a new
layer of abstraction between the programmer and the data he is working with ... this layer will help the
programmer develop better code more quickly than he could do before. (McHale). OOP languages

The first implementation arose in 1958 and quickly became the standard for expressing algorithms.
Algol was most widely used in the academic community, which thusly led to its widespread usage.
P: begin integer h, i; real array A[1:5], B[1:5, 1:2]; for i := 1 step 1 until 5 do
A[I] := 6 i; h := 1
Loop: if h *= 5 then begin B[h,1] := 1;
B[h,2] := 5 + 3 * (h A[h]); h := h + 1; go to Loop end end P
(Parsons)
The similarity between such modern languages as Pascal and Modula 2 and Algol proves it influential
to the programming community, even today. Algol also introduced the concept of free format, a
concept that allows programmers to arrange the code any way they want (assuming the syntax is
correct) (Parsons). This concept proves itself useful today in making source code easier to read and
eliminating the problem of spaghetti code (code written in an unreadable fashion, or strung together as
spaghetti is).

Causes Of Hunger
Why do people die of hunger? What are some solutions to this problem?
The world is very small stage in a vast cosmic arena, yet it can easily accommodate the needs of 7
billion; regardless of this fact, one 9 people still go to bed hungry. According to the World Food
Program there are six major causes of hunger in the world. The poverty trap, lack of investment in
agriculture, climate as well as weather, war displacement, unstable markets, and food wastage. Due to
the increasingly interconnectivity of the global community these issues often cross borders and are
increasingly interconnected. This paper will briefly state as well as analyze each cause for global
hunger and it will also list some solutions to this issue.

Climate and Weather
Per the WFP, Natural disasters such as floods, tropical storms and extended periods of drought are on
the increase with calamitous consequences for the hungry poor in developing countries. Drought is
already one of the most common causes of food shortages in the world. In 2011, persistent lack of rain
caused crop failures and heavy livestock losses in parts of Ethiopia, Somalia and Kenya. In 2012 there
was an analogous situation in the Sahel region of West Africa. In many countries, climate change is
exacerbating already tough conditions. The world s fertile farmland is under threat from erosion,
salinization, and desertification. Meanwhile, deforestation by human hands accelerates the erosion of
land which could be used for growing food, (WFP, What Causes Hunger?).
War and Displacement
The world has seen less large scale conflict in the 21st century, yet there have been increased small
scale conflicts like the war in Syria. The civil war which is so large it has actually spilled into open
conflict in Iraq and the border of Turkey has displaced millions of people. Conflicts like this can
disrupt food supplies across entire regions as armies try to starve out each other s populations. Africa
has experienced these kinds of conflicts again and again, such as in Rwanda, Sierra Leone, Somalia,
as well as the Congo.

Transformation In Adrienne Rich s Young Girl At A Window
New values and understandings obtained from discovery provide a significant catalyst for an
individual s transformation; elucidating their renewed perceptions of the human condition. Evoked by
curiosity, Rosemary Dobson s elegiac poems Young Girl at a Window and Cockcrow explore an
individual s spiritual metamorphosis; this effect is reinforced in Adrienne Rich s feminist poem Diving
into the Wreck.
Self discovery stimulate new ideas that enable us to speculate about confronting future possibilities. In
Young Girl at a Window, the second person imperative lift your hand to the window establishes the
metaphorical threshold the emotional boundaries and liminal space that separates the inexorable
development from childhood to adulthood. Nevertheless, the cumulative listing of sighing, turning,
move away suggests that the persona is closing the window, hence highlighting the reluctant
connotations of change and growth. Ultimately, we must be willing to embrace anomalies to grow as
individuals.
New ideas derived from self reflection enable us to develop in ways that are spiritually linked to the
future. The inexorable passage of adulthood is established by the motif of time, indicating that life is
continuously moving forward. The personification of time guiltless minute hand suggest that time is
not responsible for our future, but we are. Additionally, the dysphemistic personification of time was

Further as the KAM paradigm predicts, the subprime mortgage meltdown and its aftermath have
brought numerous civil and criminal actions. For example, mortgage fraud in the US, including
Federal and state prosecution, is growing dramatically. Suspicious activity reports related to mortgage
fraud increased over 1000% between 1997 and 2005 and pending FBI mortgage fraud investigations
rose from 436 in fiscal 2002 to 1210 in fiscal 2007 (Grant, 2008). The huge increases in the US

Mcdonalds Mcdonald s Case Study
In February 22, 1992 a man by the name of Chris pulls his 1989 Ford Probe into the drive thru of an
Albuquerque, New Mexico McDonalds. Chris ordered a coffee for his grandmother, 79 year old Stella
Liebeck. Upon receiving the coffee Chris pulls into a parking space so Stella can introduce cream and
sugar to her coffee. A 1989 Ford Probe lacks cupholders and features a slanted dashboard. Thus, Stella
placed the coffee near her lap and opened the Styrofoam lid. At that moment, 180 degree liquid
saturated Stella s thighs, perineum, genital area, and inner thigh. The sweatpants worn by Stella acted
as a sponge that held the scorching liquid close to her skin. Stella sustained third degree burns over six
percent of her body requiring ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Thus, the plaintiff easily established negligence. However, the plaintiff s complaint also sought to
prove fault of product liability and alleged the coffee at its base was inherently defective
notwithstanding the defective serving container on top of being defectively marketed attributable to a
lack of warning label.
However, in response, Rodey, Dickason, Sloan, Akin, Robb, P.A., the law firm for the defense issued
an affirmative defense. McDonald s alleged the plaintiff s injuries were the result of either her own
negligence in handling the obviously hot coffee or the negligence of a third party, such as her
grandson s driving. McDonald s suggested that if the plaintiff was injured as suggested it was the
result of an accident or inadvertence which has no bearing on the restaurant chain. Among other
defenses, the defense asserts that the plaintiff failed to state a claim for which the court could grant
relief. Additionally, the defense alleged the defendant adhered always to a standard of care and thus
never failed to show reasonable conduct. The defense suggested the plaintiff must present prima facie
showing of entitlement of punitive damages before burdening a jury. After all, McDonald s asserted,
customers know coffee is hot and that its customers want it that way.
The litigation process featured numerous motions on both sides of the courtroom. On January 21,
1994 the defense made a motion for summary judgment. After citing a plethora of

I think Arnold Schwarzenegger in the original popular movie Terminator provides a great example of
an extremely descriptive movie actor with many descriptive traits. Just picture him with humongous
big monstrous arms. Featured with a large built at a full 6 foot 2 inches from top to bottom. This
massive muscular chiseled looking person even at a distance was intimidating. Every square inch of
him looked as impenetrable as a fortress. He was in full military gear with black velcro straps all over
his body holding various equipment. In a thick black bullet proof vest with leg pouches for grenades
along with built in thigh straps that concealed knives and every other weapon that you could imagine

Saturday, the day of the race, dawned gray and cloudy. Nevertheless, the girls chattered happily as

And then they were off. Unfortunately, they ran into some obstacles along the way. As Thea stared out

Edward De Vere And Francis Bacon Did Not Write...
Edward de Vere and Francis Bacon Did Not Write Shakespeare s Work People assume that just
because as Pruitt (2015) explains ...Nothing has been found documenting the 37 plays and 154 sonnets
(p. 1) that Shakespeare did not do his own work. Everyone believes someone else with more of an
education is the mastermind behind the plays and sonnets. Someone like Christopher Marlowe,
Edward de Vere, Francis Bacon, or perhaps a group of people. To begin with, examine Francis Bacon.
Francis Bacon is a man of great importance back in the 16th and 17th century. He was famous for his
authorship much like Shakespeare. Fortunately, no one thought of him to be the type to spend his time
writing useless poetry. He was more well known for his writing screenplays. Edmondson and Wells
(2013) explain, While Bacon may have penned court entertainments, he was never suspected of
wasting time in writing poetry, and is not known to have written a single blank verse in all his life. (p.
21) With that statement alone, the Bacon theory should be dismissed. If no one knew of him writing
poetry, then there is no way he could have whipped out 154 sonnets when he was already famous. If
this does not prove anything, we can examine both Shakespeare s and Bacon s styles of writing. Bacon
did not write about nature and animals. In fact, he did not like to write about those things. In contrast,
Shakespeare s favorite thing to write about was nature and animals. Bacon was Shakespeare s
opposite, in a sense.

The Founding Brothers Sparknotes
Joseph J. Ellis, the author of The Founding Brothers, identifies and give a better vision of what is
happening in the American Revolution. Ellis states, On the inevitability side, it is true there was voices
back then urging prospective patriots to regard American Independence as an early manifest destiny
(3). The book introduces the revolutionaries: George Washington, Alexander Hamilton, Thomas Paine,
Thomas Jefferson, Aaron Burr, James Madison, and Benjamin Franklin. Ellis focuses on the
characteristics, actions, events, and the ideologies differences that affect the American Revolution.

The purpose of the dinner table is for the three leaders to discuss how they are to trying to help rebuild
the nation. In February 1790, two Quaker deputations request a House calling for the federal
government to put an end to African slave trade. The Constitutional Convention from New York is
trying to end the slavery, but no actions are to take place until 1808. Furthermore, the Pennsylvania
Abolition Society is signed by Benjamin Franklin, it urged the Congress to take such measures in their
wisdom, as the powers with which they are invested will authorize, for promoting the abolishing of
slavery and discouraging every species of traffic in slavery (83). First, the deputations suggest that
both slavery and slave trade is discordant to the values of American Revolution. Second, it challenges
the claim that the Constitution prohibited action. The general welfare is a way to avoid it.
In addition, in 1796, George Washington announces a speech, Farewell Address stating that he is not
going to run for reelection, after only serving two terms. Americans have to now defend themselves.
The political parties are now put to use after the election of 1776. It is now up to John Adams and
Thomas Jefferson. They were the odd couple of American Revolution (163).

Femme Fatale in Film Noir
The term film noir was coined by French critics for 1940s 50s American films that shared a dark
sensibility and a dark lighting style, such as Double Indemnity (1944), Out of the Past (1947), and The
Postman Always Rings Twice (1946). Many theorists related the common noir attributes and aesthetic
elements to a post war society characterised by insecurity about gender roles, the economy, changing
definitions of race, and nuclear technology. One of the cultural problems the term genre attempts to
address is the gender question. The familiarity of the femme fatale character across film noir is the
predominant cause for discussion amongst feminist theorists. Feminist theorists became, and still
remain, interested in the woman s portrayal in ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The classic femme fatale in forced to resort to murder to free herself from an unbearable relationship
with a man who would try to possess and control her, as if she were a piece of property or a pet.
According to Sylvia Harvey, author of Women s place: The absent family, the women of film noir are
presented as prizes, desirable objects for the leading men of these films. The femme fatale s unique
power is her brazen willingness and ability to express herself in sexual terms. By this the femme fatale
threatens the status quo, and the hero, because she controls her own sexuality outside of marriage. She
uses sex for pleasure and as a weapon or a tool to control men, not merely in the culturally acceptable
capacity of procreation within marriage. Her sexual emancipation commands the gaze of the hero, the
audience, and the camera in a way that cannot be erased by her final punishment. Attempts to
neutralise the power and blatant sexuality of the femme fatale by destroying her at the end are usually
unsuccessful, because her power extends beyond death. Noir films immediately convey the intense
sexual presence of the femme fatale by introducing her as a fully established object of the hero s
obsession. Since the camera often represents the hero s subjective memory, revealed

Durability Lab Report
Abstract This report discusses the testing of the durability of the Ultra Thin Lifestyle, Trojan, and
Durex Condoms by putting ball bearings in each condom until it broke for 3 trial runs. They are
commonly known as a rubber layer used when having intercourse and is considered a safe haven
because it helps prevent pregnancies and sexually transmitted infections in this case, we used ultra
thin rubber sheaths. Our hypothesis was that if Lifestyle cost more than Durex and Trojan, then
Lifestyle would have the most durability. We gathered our materials which included gloves, sealed
condoms, ball bearings, and a plastic bin. We took the mass of one ball bearing before starting to
know how to calculate how much intake each condom can endure and started putting them into each
condom until it broke. Our findings were that the durability of each brand was extremely inconsistent
during the three trial experiment. In addition, it meant we ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
To begin, we used an electronic balance to measure the mass of one ball bearing in grams and the
mass was recorded on a separate sheet of paper. We then positioned a bin on the floor below the
workspace. The Durex Ultra Thin condom was removed from its package and held open over the bin.
Ball bearings were added to the condom until the condom broke. The number of ball bearings that it
took to break the condom was recorded on a separate sheet of paper. These steps were repeated two
more times, using Trojan Ultra Thin condoms the second time, and LifeStyles Ultra Thin condoms the
third time. This entire process was repeated two more times until all three brands were tested with
three trials. Once all the results for the trials were recorded, the the mass a condom could hold before
breaking was calculated for each trial for every brand. The number of ball bearings that the condom
could hold was multiplied by the mass of one ball

The Things They Carried Passage Analysis Essay
The passage from the story of The Lives Of The Dead, gives O Brien s views on storytelling and how
he pushes fiction within his short novel. Furthermore, this passage starting from the bottom of page
230 going to 231, allows the reader to not only get a general feel as to what O Brien means when he
refers to storytelling, but also how he feels when he recalls his memories and how he writes them on
paper. To start off, the passage begins with O Brien s views on storytelling stating that you dream it as
you tell it, hoping that others might then dream along with you (O Brien pg 230). This statement very
much shows how O Brien pushes fiction, even though he does not formally state it. He mentions

I think that in order to portray the idea of pushing fiction the language in which the author needs to
use must be very articulate and detailed to get that feeling of disbelief in the reader s mind. For
example, take this quote from the passage; it was the deadness. We put his personal effects in a plastic
bag and tied the bag to his arm. We stripped off the canteens and ammo, all the heavy stuff, and
wrapped him up in his own poncho and carried him out to a dry paddy and laid him down. In this
specific part of the passage Tim uses imagery within his detailed yet very articulate language, which
allows the reader to visualize in their head what Tim is actually seeing. This not only lets the reader
get a better sense of the situation but also allows them to be in his shoes and experience what he sees.
Furthermore, the language is very articulate and detailed as you can see from the line we stripped off
the canteens and ammo, all the heavy stuff, and wrapped him up in his own poncho and carried him.
Here the use of articulate and detailed language not only blossoms the imagery but also supports his
idea of pushing fiction and how he dreams it as he tells

Psychological Effects Of Psychedelics Essay
The world of psychedelia introduces many new psychological effects both medically and
recreationally. They offer a mind bending effect that is not seen in many other drugs. Using this to
their advantage doctors and therapists could use these drugs for patients who suffer from P.T.S.D. and
mental disabilities alike. Although there are many benefits to them, people still argue that psychedelics
should not be used for psychology. The negatives that come with psychedelics can make even more
problems for the user, or just increase the already existing problems. With the chances of the negative
outcomes being almost as equal to the good, should psychedelics be used to help aid mental illnesses.
It s clear that psychedelics affect the brain primarily, and exaggerate the emotions of the user.
Psilocybin is the main ingredient that is responsible for the effects of most psychedelics. The way
psilocybin works is that it stimulates serotonin receptors in the brain called 5HT 2 receptors. Once the
psilocybin starts triggering its effects the user will start to feel intense sensations, colors become more
vivid, and sounds might even become visual. There is also a bad side that comes as a toll with
psychedelics, the user might have what is called a bad trip . ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net

The National Rifle Association ( Nra )
Of the many interest groups that have a viable, unwavering presence in both the campaign and
election process and in the hands of its taxpaying voters is the National Rifle Association (NRA). The
nonprofit organization has a staunch and straightforward message: to advocate and protect the second
amendment. As of late, the NRA has received criticism by some candidate who is running for
presidency, and even the President himself, but this has not changed the purpose or image of the
organization through the eyes of the American people. Other candidates can see this, and they are in
full fledge of their support for the NRA, which is not only cohesive but reciprocal, and has been one
of the standing points for these candidates. Because of this, Fortune magazine has recognized NRA as
the most powerful lobbying force in the United States. The National Rifle Association is an effective
interest group because of its strong advocacy for gun rights, its strong support from taxpayers and
politicians, and its notable presence in policy making and legislation. The NRA is a powerful
organization that has a long, illustrious history of advocating gun rights and the second amendment.
The nonprofit organization was founded in November of 1871 by William Conant Church and George

Border Wall Barriers
One of the most disastrous promise made by president Trump was the border wall between Mexico
and United States. President Trump s defense of his extreme policy was to control the illegal
immigration of many Mexican citizens into the United States. They Mexican public was very much
outraged by this decision and they were very disappointed at the part where President Trump
said,Mexico is going to pay for the wall. Mexican President Enrique Peña Nieto showed this
disappointment by cancelling his appointment with Mr Trump. This initiative is crushing good cultural

the border of the two countries. President Trump s initiative of building a wall to divide U.S and

harmful and begins to destroy them. There are many different types of this disease and progressive
systemic scleroderma affects each person differently. It is considered an autoimmune disorder or
disease. Many times, this disease is diagnosed in men and women around the ages of 30 to 50 years
old. Women are most likely to suffered from it than ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Treatment Because of the severity of this disease and the damage that it causes to so many areas of the
body, many treatments could be necessary to treat this disease. The patient may need a physiatrist, a
nutritionist, a gastroenterologist, an occupational therapist, a respiratory therapist, a speech therapist, a
social worker, a mental health professor, or a pastoral care provider. This all depends on the severity of
the case for the patient and what areas of the body need the most help. There are also many
medications that doctors prescribe for patients with amyotrophic lateral sclerosis which may include:
Riluzole, quinine bisulphate, nonsteroidal anti inflammatory drugs, and neurodex. There are also
several drugs that are undergoing testing to determine their help in the regulation of the symptoms of
amyotrophic lateral sclerosis.
5. Prognosis As stated before, there is no cure for Amyotrophic lateral sclerosis and it is a disease that
affects every patient so differently. There is a very short life expectancy for those who acquire this
disease lasting from only 2 to 5 years. Those who have this disease most likely die from respiratory
failure, which aggravated the disease beyond repair. By following the doctor s instructions and taking
medication regularly, the symptoms can be manageable and the life expectancy will be lived out to its

Major Themes In The Last Unicorn By Peter Beagle
The unicorn stood still at the edge of the forest and said aloud, I am the only unicorn there is. They
were the first words she had spoken, even to herself, in more than a hundred years. The Last Unicorn
is the story of a unicorn s mystical quest to search for her people. Along her adventure she s joined by
companions, Schmendrick the magician and Molly Grue, who have their own wishes and desires.
They hear of stories that King Haggard and the Red Bull drove them away, leading them to investigate
at King Haggard s castle. The author, Peter Beagle, incorporates a major theme in the story,
wistfulness, because every character had something they strongly desired or regretted. This
wistfulness becomes the basis for the characters actions ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
I am human, and I love you...I will not love you when I am a unicorn... [249]. Since she must fight the
Red Bull, Lady Amalthea is changed to a unicorn. Seeing Prince Lír defend her, motivates her feeling
of loss and rage to fight. Suddenly the unicorn screamed...it was an ugly, squawking wail of sorrow
and loss and rage, such as no immortal creature ever gave. [265]. All in all, Lady Amalthea becomes a
small part of the unicorn and learns about a human s feelings and mortality. Lady Amalthea s lover,
Prince Lír, was an adopted son of King Haggard. Determined, Prince Lír tries to gain Lady Amalthea s
affection through heroic deeds. Her affection is only won when Prince Lír comforts her by singing and
saves her from her nightmares. This is where their relationship begins to grow. Moving forward in the
story, when Lady Amalthea refuses to change back, Prince Lír tries to convince her to transform. He
understands that her quest must be completed and in the process he would lose Lady Amalthea. Quests
may not simply be abandoned; prophecies may not be left to rot like unpicked fruit; unicorns may go
unrescued for a very long time, but not forever. The happy ending cannot come in the middle of the
story. [251]. When the unicorn faces the Red Bull, his motivation of love for Lady Amalthea drives
him to fight and protect her. I became a hero to serve you, and all that is like you. [252]. After the
transformation she returns to

  • 2. Nationalism And National Identity Nationalism is a source of modernization and political legitimacy, especially in Latin American countries such as Nicaragua, Argentina, and Mexico. An inclusive national identity can serve as a means for the development of belonging, and this globally acclaimed notion of diversity is attractive for nations struggling to find their footing in the international community. Looking towards the future, the key to achieving this inclusion is the use of culture, specifically employing music as a tool of integration. However, the decisive variable here is adolescents. Though these popular music forms may be the music of the people, they are ultimately dictated by the youth. In modern times, music is integral for youth as they delve into discourses of identity and equality, so focusing in on marginalized youth gives the government an opportunity to explore attitudes and national inclusion among individuals who are in a critical period of development. Even though teens are influenced by their parents beliefs during childhood before advancing their own views, youth are ultimately the starting point for incorporating ostracized groups into nationalist discourses because they are the developers and executors of music movements. Furthermore, the attitudes of young people regarding inclusion and exclusion provide an indication for the sustainability of such diverse national identities in the future. In Nicaragua, discourses of identity became prominent following the success of the ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 3. Grendel and Cain and how they relate in Beowulf Grendel and Cain In the story of Beowulf you get a glimpse of many different themes throughout this epic. Those themes range from good and evil to those of death and glory. The story itself depicts a period in history when life was lead blind through the teachings of the book of the lord and his spoken words. At this same period in history traditional pagan religious practices and beliefs have slowly given way to the ideals and philosophy of Christianity. Many of the themes held within the pages of Beowulf stem from the proverbs and fables recited and practiced in the Old Testament, while concurrently adding pagan beliefs of monsters, demons, and multiple gods. The most striking of these biblical comparisons is viewed between Grendel ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... For his sin he was expelled from Eden. From that day on he led the life of an exile, doomed to be a fugitive and wanderer in the earth (Gen. 4:12) and denied the rights of a normal man, only to bare the mark of a sinner and warning to others. With this Cain walked into the land of Nod (unknown, evil, dark), only to leave a legacy felt by the generations of his offspring. When Cain killed Able, he ignited the eternal flame of a cursed family. From Cain s blood came the curse of his exile and sprang ogres and elves and evil phantoms and the giants too (Beowulf. Pg. 35), darkness entailed is legacy and evil embodied his future. Grendel is a descendant of Cain, so he shares Cain s exile from all that is good and light. Cain may have been the first displaced person after Adam and Eve, but he was not the last. Grendel shares his ancestor s punishment, he is exiled not only from whatever land or wealth he would have had if he were human , but he is also abandoned by God and all who followed and indulge in his faith and grandeur. It is this abandonment that causes Grendel to destroy and murder. The treasure seat, he was kept from approaching; he was the Lords outcast (Beowulf pg.36), since he cannot approach the throne of the Lord like the rest of mankind, he chooses to attempt to destroy it. He has no love for God and his children if he can not be with them hand in hand . However, unlike Cain and his parents, Grendel is doomed from ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 4. The Ethics of Boeing and Mr. Harry Stonecipher Essay Harry Stonecipher and the ethics of Boeing Should Harry Stonecipher have been fired for having a consensual affair with another executive at Boeing Aircraft? The answer is most decidedly yes. In many people s eyes this affair could have violated the company s code of conduct, and went against the reason Harry Stonecipher was hired. His actions showed flaws in his character that could have been damaging to the company had he been allowed to stay. The Boeing board of directors had no other choice than to tender Mr. Stonecipher s resignation. It was stated in an article in the March 2008 Tribune Business News that, Although the relationship did not directly violate Boeing s code of conduct, the board determined that there were ... It was therefore his duty to live by the standards he enforced. If he was unable to do that, then he should have stepped down as CEO before this extra marital affair was brought to light. Hypocrisy is no way to lead a company. It will only cause dissension among peers and employees. Senior leaders of a company are the moral rocks that the company bases its values on. If a leader demonstrates strong moral values and a desire to do what is considered right by the majority of his employees his attitude will, after a time become infectious. The majority of his employees will begin to emulate his actions, and begin to modify their values to meet his. This would result in increased productivity and a more pleasant work environment. At the same time, if that same leader were to demonstrate questionable values and a do as I say not as I do attitude the same thing would occur. The majority of his employees would begin to lower their moral values and the overall productivity of the company would suffer. • 5. Tsunamis Essay Environmental Science Tsunamis A tsunami (soo NAH mee) is a series of waves that occur in an ocean or other large body of water and that are caused by some activity that displaces big amounts of water. Tsunami is the Japanese word for quot;harbor wave. quot; Earthquakes that occur on the seafloor or in coastal areas usually cause tsunamis. The energy generated by the earthquake is transmitted through the water. In deep oceans the energy in these seismic sea waves can travel virtually unnoticed because the wave height may be only twelve inches. When this energy reaches the shallow waters of coastlines, bays, or harbors, it forces the water into a giant wave. Some ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Fishermen twenty miles out to sea didn t notice the wave pass under their boats because it only had a height at the time of about fifteen inches. They were totally unprepared for the devastation that awaited them when they returned to the port of Sanriku. Twenty eight thousand people were killed and 170 miles of coastline were destroyed by the wave that had passed under them. Tsunamis in deep water can have a wavelength greater than 300 miles (500 2) kilometers) and a period of about an hour. This is very different from the normal California tube, which generally has a wavelength of about 300 feet (100 meters) and a time of about ten seconds. (The period of a wave is the time between two successive waves.) Tsunamis are shallow water waves, which means that the ratio between water depth and wavelength is very small. These shallow water waves move at a speed equal to the square root of the product of the acceleration of gravity (9.8m/s/s) and the water depth. The deeper the water, the faster and shorter the wave is. For example, when the ocean is 20,000 feet deep, a tsunami travels at 550 miles per hour. At this speed, the wave can compete with a jet airplane, traveling across the ocean in less than a day. Another important factor in considering tsunamis is the rate at which they lose energy. Because a wave loses energy at a rate inversely related to its ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 6. Synthesis Essay On The Melting Pot The United States has a motto, e pluribus unum, that suggests that in America, embracing diversity creates unity. Long ago, during the 1900s, assimilation was considered to be crucial in order for a naturalization process to occur. Immigrants were forced to assimilate and adopt to the American culture, in which they had never been introduced to before. Over time, things evolved and changed to the point where people began to assimilate to a certain point, but still have their cultural traditions, giving America a nickname known as the Melting Pot. America being known as The Melting Pot, defends the claim that in today s society, The United States of America is moving toward a new standard in which diversity and individuality are encouraged more than uniformity and conformity. Before a naturalization ceremony occurs, the United States citizens still have their cultural ideas and languages being spoken along with them. In Source 1, it s a picture of citizens all waving American flags, with a subtitle of, New U.S. Citizens wave American flags before being sworn in at a naturalization ceremony. NaCl is the most commonly used because the low cost and high attainability. Studies have shown that different salts are more effective depending on circumstance (Warrington, 1998). The largest environmental impact seems to stem from the misuse of different deicers and can have detrimental effects on the surrounding environment including vegetation, wildlife, and soil (Buckler and Granato, 1999). The most quantifiable impact is that of the cations and anions into drinking water and the degradation observed of the environment in the area surrounding the misused deicers (Bryson and Barker, 2002). Bryson and Barker (2002) ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... The first factor was in regards to the actual effectiveness of the deicer by examining freezing point depression and enthalpy of dissolution. In order to examine freezing point depression, different amount of NaCl were added to water and the change in temperature was measured. The results showed that as the amount of solute increased, so did the change in temperature. Enthalpy of dissolution was also examined in an attempt to find whether or not the reaction between a deicing agent and water would be endothermic or exothermic. NaCl and KCl were both found to be endothermic, while CaCl2 and MgCl2 were found to be exothermic. Based on the ability to depress freezing point, and the exothermic reactivity, MgCl2 was found to be the most effective deicing agent. Impact on the environment was also examined. Although all Chloride based deicing compounds are detrimental to the environment, much of the problem stems from the amount of cations which seep into the surrounding area. Under the preceding notion, MgCl2 was found to be the most environmental friendly as it holds the greatest potential for freezing point depression and exothermic reactivity amongst the compounds examined. This means that for every one unit of MgCl2 used, significantly more units of another compound would be necessary. But, due to factors such as humidity, MgCl2 and CaCl2 are not the choice by state officials as they have potential to ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 11. The Pros And Cons Of Nurture As you sit watching the evening news, a story comes on explaining that a man was arrested for killing an innocent family in a random neighborhood. You ask yourself, How could a person do something so cruel? For years, people have researched what makes a person a criminal. Are we born with the qualities that make us a criminal or do we develop those qualities through the experiences we encounter in our lifetime? Answering this decade old question requires comparing and contrasting both sides of the theory concerning human development. Is human development the result of nature, nurture, or a combination of both? Criminal like behavior and characteristics develop because of experiences throughout our lifetime, but in some cases, there may be a few exceptions as to why a person becomes a criminal (Mcleod, Saul). What is nurture? Nurture is the term in psychology used to explain that environmental factors have an impact on human development. Influences such as childhood experiences, our upbringing, and socioeconomic status can have an impact on our personality and the person we become. According to many people who study psychology and lifespan development, nurture contributes the most when it comes to the development of humans because external factors potentially leave the biggest impact on the human brain (What is Nurture?). How does nurture work? Nurture can be described in many ways. For instance, imagine a man who abuses his family, both mentally and physically. Was the ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 13. Dreams, By Sigmund Freud A person s dreams appear to have a universal language. In ancient societies, people looked at dreaming as some kind of supernatural communication and dreams are fascinating mysteries. To begin the discussion of dreams, it is important to note that dreams are often considered an extension of consciousness. In other words, dreams can be a way the brain organizes and analyzes the day to day events during sleep. Everyone dreams, however, not everyone remembers their dreams. The psychoanalyst, Sigmund Freud, theorized that dreams bury themselves in unconscious emotions and as we sleep our mind releases these emotions in the form of dreams. He also theorized that dreams are ways in which people act out suppressed desires. The Interpretation of ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... This theory was a good method of explaining dreams, but it did not predict behavior. In other words, one cannot prove or refute the validity of Freud s theory. According to Ciccarelli and White (2015), many of today s professionals no longer appreciate Freud s dream theory (151). Nevertheless, Freud s legacy lives on as The Father of Psychoanalysis (Robinson 2011) and a pioneer in the study of dreams. Even though, the theory proposed by Freud appears decidedly unscientific. The unconscious mind was important in Freud s work and the Freudian theory emphasized that the unconscious mind governed behavior. Additionally, to study Freud, one must investigate his theory of manifest content and latent content. While reading Freud, a student learns that the actual content of the dream refers to manifest content. That is to say, the exact subject matter of the dream makes up the manifest content. At the same time, Freud believed that the real meaning of a dream referred to latent content. An individual s personal interpretations define the latent content in Freud s theory. Although rarely recognized, Freud s career was first and foremost a practitioner Moran 2010). As a psychotherapist Freud believed that dreams come from deep in the unconscious mind. Perhaps even from things suppressed since childhood. The study of dreams helped Freud understand the process of psychoanalyzing people and he believed dreams were a ... Evoked by curiosity, Rosemary Dobson s elegiac poems Young Girl at a Window and Cockcrow explore an individual s spiritual metamorphosis; this effect is reinforced in Adrienne Rich s feminist poem Diving into the Wreck. Self discovery stimulate new ideas that enable us to speculate about confronting future possibilities. In Young Girl at a Window, the second person imperative lift your hand to the window establishes the metaphorical threshold the emotional boundaries and liminal space that separates the inexorable development from childhood to adulthood. Nevertheless, the cumulative listing of sighing, turning, move away suggests that the persona is closing the window, hence highlighting the reluctant connotations of change and growth. Ultimately, we must be willing to embrace anomalies to grow as individuals. New ideas derived from self reflection enable us to develop in ways that are spiritually linked to the future. The inexorable passage of adulthood is established by the motif of time, indicating that life is continuously moving forward. Edward de Vere and Francis Bacon Did Not Write Shakespeare s Work People assume that just because as Pruitt (2015) explains ...Nothing has been found documenting the 37 plays and 154 sonnets (p. 1) that Shakespeare did not do his own work. Everyone believes someone else with more of an education is the mastermind behind the plays and sonnets. Someone like Christopher Marlowe, Edward de Vere, Francis Bacon, or perhaps a group of people. To begin with, examine Francis Bacon. Francis Bacon is a man of great importance back in the 16th and 17th century. He was famous for his authorship much like Shakespeare. Fortunately, no one thought of him to be the type to spend his time writing useless poetry. He was more well known for his writing screenplays. Edmondson and Wells (2013) explain, While Bacon may have penned court entertainments, he was never suspected of wasting time in writing poetry, and is not known to have written a single blank verse in all his life. (p. 21) With that statement alone, the Bacon theory should be dismissed. If no one knew of him writing poetry, then there is no way he could have whipped out 154 sonnets when he was already famous. If this does not prove anything, we can examine both Shakespeare s and Bacon s styles of writing. Bacon did not write about nature and animals. In fact, he did not like to write about those things. In contrast, Shakespeare s favorite thing to write about was nature and animals. Bacon was Shakespeare s opposite, in a sense. ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Many theorists related the common noir attributes and aesthetic elements to a post war society characterised by insecurity about gender roles, the economy, changing definitions of race, and nuclear technology. Furthermore, the language is very articulate and detailed as you can see from the line we stripped off the canteens and ammo, all the heavy stuff, and wrapped him up in his own poncho and carried him. • 30. Psychological Effects Of Psychedelics Essay The world of psychedelia introduces many new psychological effects both medically and recreationally. They offer a mind bending effect that is not seen in many other drugs. Using this to their advantage doctors and therapists could use these drugs for patients who suffer from P.T.S.D. and mental disabilities alike. Although there are many benefits to them, people still argue that psychedelics should not be used for psychology. The negatives that come with psychedelics can make even more problems for the user, or just increase the already existing problems. With the chances of the negative outcomes being almost as equal to the good, should psychedelics be used to help aid mental illnesses. It s clear that psychedelics affect the brain primarily, and exaggerate the emotions of the user. Psilocybin is the main ingredient that is responsible for the effects of most psychedelics. The way psilocybin works is that it stimulates serotonin receptors in the brain called 5HT 2 receptors. Once the psilocybin starts triggering its effects the user will start to feel intense sensations, colors become more vivid, and sounds might even become visual. There is also a bad side that comes as a toll with psychedelics, the user might have what is called a bad trip . ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... The National Rifle Association ( Nra ) Of the many interest groups that have a viable, unwavering presence in both the campaign and election process and in the hands of its taxpaying voters is the National Rifle Association (NRA). The nonprofit organization has a staunch and straightforward message: to advocate and protect the second amendment. As of late, the NRA has received criticism by some candidate who is running for presidency, and even the President himself, but this has not changed the purpose or image of the organization through the eyes of the American people. Other candidates can see this, and they are in full fledge of their support for the NRA, which is not only cohesive but reciprocal, and has been one of the standing points for these candidates. Because of this, Fortune magazine has recognized NRA as the most powerful lobbying force in the United States. The National Rifle Association is an effective interest group because of its strong advocacy for gun rights, its strong support from taxpayers and politicians, and its notable presence in policy making and legislation.
