purchases two key acquisitions, the Calphalon company and the Rubbermaid
company. Ferguson feels these acquisitions will assist the company in reaching its
goal of a market capitalization of $10 billion, which will allow Newell to control a
higher price per earnings multiple. The company s plan is to gain access to the capital
markets by aggressively adding new products by acquisition (Montgomery, 2005).
The key to this approach was a two part strategy, the acquisition process and

There are also some interesting facts about this Wonder. The word mausoleum ,
which means tomb , comes from the name Mausolus and this structure. After their
deaths, statues of Mausolus and Artemisia were sculpted and put in the chariot on
top of the tomb. There were also two famous statues of soldiers at the entrance of

The setting of a story can contribute more than just a scenic background in which the
story takes place. When used wisely by the directory the setting itself can convey the
emotions or ideas of a character. In the film The Age of Innocence the setting
communicates the love between Ellen and Archer to the audience. The Operascene
and snow scene from the van der Luydens country home show why their love is
impossible by the physical attributes present in both locations.
The Opera projected the unattainable love between Ellen and Archer by both the

The setting is cold and there is snow everywhere. The winter season symbolizes
death and despair. This shows that the relationship they wish to have doesn t have a
future. The snowy season can be beautiful to look at but its better in theory than
actually surviving through the frost. The love they long for is a beautiful thought
they wish could prevail beyond their old fashion traditions however it is not a
relationship that can realistically be attained. Snow can also be used to symbolize
hardship. This could be used to symbolically to state that Ellen and Archer will suffer
emotionally and mentally from the relationship they want to pursue. In the country
home Archer fantasizes Ellen holding him but his dream is interrupted by a visitor.
The interruption of this fantasy represent how their love is not something that can be
attained. The cold snow and abrupt end of the fantasy at the van der Luydens country
home show the death of the relationship before it has even fully begun.
The setting played an important role in emphasizing that their love was unobtainable.
The Opera had a dual role; it gave insight into the social elite s traditions and rules
which negated the relationship from developing due to status and reputation, the
contents of the play itself showed that affairs lead to suffering and social suicide. The
cold season in which the two lovers found themselves in only added to the notion that
