The Bibliography Of Heady Lamarr
Part 1: The Bibliography of Heady Lamarr
Hedy Lamarr was born Hedwig Maria Eva Kiesler in Vienna, Austria on November 9, 1914 to Emil
and Gertrud Kiesler. According to several sources Hedy was extremely spoiled by her father as he
doted on her constantly and encouraged her love of scientific exploration, conversely her mother
Gertrud was reportedly much sterner with Hedy. According to Hedy and her family, Hedy s goal was
always to be an actress so it was no surprise to her contemporaries when she dropped out of school to
join the theater. It s important to note that the theater was a well respected well attended media outlet
in Vienna at that time, the culture of Vienna was accepting and often based on the philosophy and
biases expressed ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
This is how Hedy gained the knowledge necessary to work with George Antheil in the development of
the Secret Communication System . The biggest issue for Hedy while she was married to Friz was that
she was not allowed to work, she described her marriage to him as Being kept in the Gilded Cage and
she eventually had to escape the marriage and flee to Paris. This is where she eventually met up Louis
B Mayer, a talent scout in Europe, who helped her move to America, change her name to Hedy
Lamarr, and begin her Hollywood career.
Furthermore interesting is that after Hedy patented her invention, the Navy denied to use it; stating
that it just took up too much space onboard their already over packed ships. But Hedy had a will to
help with the war efforts, so she went on a campaign to sell war bonds through the influence of her
celebrity status. After which she continued her film career for a total of 33 movies [3], raised three
children one of which she adopted, and married and divorced five more times. Hedy eventually died
on January 19, 2000 in her home in Casselberry, FL, ironically enough she spent most of her last few
years in seclusion only communicating with her family via a cellphone, the very technology her
invention helped create.

Evaluating Aldi s Highly Competitive Market
Good morning/afternoon/ evening Dr Campbel Fraser. Today I am going to evaluate the Aldi store
strategy.
The food retail industry is a highly competitive market. Therefore, organisations need to offer
customers value for money. Customers always want the best quality products at the lowest prices.
With such strong competition, it is very important for organisations to analyse and understand the
customers needs, wants and expectations.
Aldi started business in Australia in 2001 and has grown quickly over the past years. The first Aldi
store was opened in Sydney. The main Aldi s strategy is providing people the highest quality products
at low prices (Aldi Australia, 2008). Aldi has several advantages and strengths for example, the

order to gain more profit and have a good competitive advantage. Aldi should keep doing its store roll
out program which will help them to be more competitive. Keep the highest quality, lowest price
strategy is a good competitive advantage for Aldi. Also, it is recommended to implement the usage of
technology as other global companies do. Moreover, Aldi could apply some capabilities such as,
valuable, unique, difficult to copy and with the lack of substitutes. Furthermore, Aldi can look ahead
to institutional marketing with the help of which they can set up small stores in commercial buildings
or even hospitals and attract new target

I. Introduction:
Statement of Problem.
In 2003, the company experienced a major increase of problems with the
Local Area Network (LAN). The LAN downtime has double from previous years. There s also an
increase of maintenance problem with computers systems this includes hardware and software. Some
user s have acquired the authority to load there own software on their system, this has attributed to
some user s purchasing or borrowing software from unimproved sources and loading them on to their
systems. If these actions continue it may cause irreversible damage to our information system. This is
causing this unit thousandth of dollars per month.

5. Users not conducting virus scans on software and data files before loading them on to their assigned
computer
Most maintenance and security problems are occurred due to lack of guidance. Personnel assigned to
the company are unaware of the many variables that effect one of the company s primary forms of
communication, both external and internal.
Needs
The lack of guidance for use of computers and the LAN is contributing to the requirement for
excessive maintenance of the company s hardware, software and LAN. By addressing this problem
immediately, we can prevent hackers from interdicting the company LAN, set a baseline for the
company information security plan, and alleviate unscheduled maintenance on network infrastructure.
Scope
The proposed plan includes a detailed assessment of the methods, costs and materials, personnel
requirements, feasibility, and expected results.
II. Body
Proposed Plan.
1. Phases of the Plan:
a. Informing all employees, on the Proper Use of Computers and

First, the Information Management Officer (IMO) must inform users of the maintenance and security
problems. We will demonstrate the staff interest by sending out an email to all employees and posting
information on the bulletin board. In an effort to give employees a better understanding of why the

Struggling to Define Industry in the Industrial Disputes Act
INTRODUCTION
No other provision of the Industrial Disputes Act, 1947 (hereinafter ID Act) has been under as much
scrutiny as the definition of industry given under section 2(j). To avail the benefit of the ID Act, it is
necessary for the worker to prove that his place of employment falls under the purview of the
definition of industry in s 2(j). Over the years the judiciary has laid down certain tests and criteria to
determine and limit (or as seen later, expand) the scope of the legislation to extend the benefits to
workers in different establishments. One such issue was to examine if educational institutions
(universities, schools, etc) would fall under s. 2(j). This essay starts by tracing the judicial
developments with regard to educational institutions under s 2(j).
ARE EDUCATIONAL INSTITUTIONS INDUSTRY ?
The concern of education as industry arose for the first time in Corporation of Nagpur v Its Employees
. It was held that the education department of the corporation was a service being provided and would
therefore fall under industry . The question was again addressed in Delhi University v Ram Nath in
1963. The argument presented was that widest meaning should be given to s. 2(j) along the line of the
decision in Hospital Mazdoor Sabha , wherein it had been stated that industry expressly included
services . The working principle stated that the activity should involve the co operation of the
employer and employees with the object of satisfying material

small farming town known as Salem Village. Salem Village belonged to a very strict religion also
known as Puritanism, the Puritan religion had no restraint that the slightest mistake during the Salem
hysteria period could result in the farmers who met in the town hall gossiping about maybe your
absence at church, and you were suspected to be a witch. The Salem Hysteria all arose when a clique
of puritan girls had often met in Mr. Samuel Parris s (pastor of Salem Village) kitchen where his
native caribbean slave Tituba had been teaching of her decrepit culture in which included the
teachings of magic. Anyway she taught them voodoo, told their fortunes by the palm of their hands,

Sambo Stereotypes Essay
The Sambo stereotype of Black men is prominent on many televisions shows that includes a Black
male character. Black men who are portrayed as Sambo are shown as a very happy, lazy, docile,
aggregable, and carefree man. This stereotype is used in television shows because he can be laughed
at, hence, humor is a form of oppression (Drew 4). In Tia Tyree s article African American Stereotypes
in Reality Television, she studies 10 different reality television shows and their inclusion on Black
stereotypes and found that male was the only gender to have participants coded as old stereotypes,
which were a Sambo, Uncle Tom, and Coon (403). In season 3 of the show The Apprentice, one of the

shortly after being given the responsibility of taking care of his nieces and nephew and after being
awakened by them goes to the kitchen and drinks orange juice straight from the jug. These actions
exhibit traits associated with the Lazy Black Man. However, Uncle Buck does not represent all Black

Sweetness Of The Belly By Camilla Gibb
Sweetness in the Belly by Camilla Gibb
Sweetness in the Belly by Camilla Gibb is a moving, heart warming tale about a young woman, who
suffers from insecurity and self identity through a world where she is considered an outsider. The
novel s protagonist is Lilly Abdal, born to British vagabonds as she is left in the hands of the Great
Sufi Abdal, who raises her to become a white, devout Muslim woman in East Morocco. The author
seamlessly weaves in Dr. Aziz, an Ethiopian man who creates sparks in Lilly s heart, only to be
separated once Lilly s embarks to London, England. Camilla Gibb takes the tale of an outcast, spun
with religious beliefs and morals, to create a powerful story that challenges and uplights the reader s
mentality on religion and what it means to follow religious and cultural traditions.
Lilly, born in London, England was raised by a Sufi, the Great Abdal after the murder of her parents in
Morocco. She lived in a Muslim shrine for ten years under the influence of the Great Abdal, adopting
his surname, legally becoming his daughter. In her years of learning the Qur an, Great Abdal
undertakes an Ethiopian orphan named Hussein, whom he adopts as a son. Due to the political
upheavals in Morocco, the Great Abdal sends Lilly and Hussein on a spiritual hajj/pilgrimage across
the Sahara desert to the ancient holy city of Harar, at the age of sixteen years. The Abdal recommends
them to the shelter of a fellow sheikh/Sufi, however he does not accept Lilly because she

The Importance Of The Internet For Everyone
The Internet is for everyone. How easy to say how hard to achieve! Vint Cerf, the father of the internet
said that in a 2002 memo to everyone providing information to the internet community entitled The
Internet is for Everyone. The idea that the internet should have unlimited access is still something that
is hotly contested even today. Net neutrality must stay because the internet was intended to allow free
access to all, it s promised in the Universal Declaration of Human Rights, and because corporations
cannot be trusted to do what s right over their own gain. The internet was designed to be free. As Vint
Cerf stated in his memo The Internet Is for Everyone, Internet is for everyone but it won t be if
Governments restrict access to it, so we must dedicate ourselves to keeping the network unrestricted,
unfettered and unregulated. We must have the freedom to speak and the freedom to hear. Government
regulation of the internet was something Cerf foresaw and feared. According to Science Daily, the
Internet s original purpose was to share information. Mainly between doctors and scientists to spread
new discoveries and information. Without net neutrality, information would be harder to share and
access, causing the internet to fail in its primary goal. Some may argue that by blocking certain
information, the public can be protected from unpleasant information. However, no one entity can be
trusted to censor information without bias, the

How I Did Not Work Out
Overall, I believe that my unit was a successful unit for the setting that I was in. If I could go back and
do it again, there are a few things that I would like to change. There are so many positives from this
unit that I hate to look at the things that did not work out, so I will do a little of both. We will call it
pro, con, con, pro, a little method I learned from my years of helping with sorority recruitment. I will
start off with a positive, address two negatives, and end with a positive. One positive from this unit
was that I always had a backup when or if the technology does not work. This was a major positive for
me because I had a lot of technology incorporated in my lesson but was faced with the terrible news
that the school Wi Fi went down, for four days, during my unit. Instead of having the students read
from the book or listen to me lecture for 84 minutes, I decided to incorporate other ideas. We got
lucky during this time because the landline still worked, and since Mr. Cooper had a smart projector,
we were able to still use the internet and technology. I am one of the biggest fans when it comes to
technology but now I truly understand the importance of having a backup plan when it decides not to
work for you. Another time, when I needed copies for all of the students, the copier decided that it did
not want to work. So, we had to improvise and I ended up typing the instructions onto a PowerPoint
that I displayed on the board for all the students to see.

John Huston s The Dead
John Huston s The Dead, which was produced in 1987, was based on James Joyce s The Dead , the
last story to be written in his famous novella Dubliners . The film adaptation serves as a careful
rendering of the story, with a few exceptions of some newly introduced characters and emphasized
and minimized importance of other characters in the film compared to the original story. Such an
example is Mr. Grace, an additional character in the film who recited aloud the poem Broken Vows .
What exactly was Huston s purpose in adding a character not originally included in the story?

Lady Augusta Gregory, a prominent dramatist at the time period in which the story took place. In
actuality, the poem is titled The Grief of a Girl s Heart , an orally traditional poem in Irish folklore
with an unknown author. The original poem consists of 14 stanzas, which speaks of a tale of love and
betrayal where a young woman is in love with a man who promises her the world, only to get
abandoned by him in the end. The version Mr. Grace read aloud was composed of six stanzas. Pilipp
claims that this was because including the entire poem as part of the recitation would have added a
more than subtle reminder to Gretta of her young love and a certain incongruity with Joyce s original
plot (61). Having the entire poem equally measured to the song would have taken away from the
importance of the song as Joyce meant it to be in the same way that having part of the poem recited in
the story gave a lead into how Gretta s feelings for Michael Furey recurred. As the first stanza was
recited, it became evident that Mr. Grace got his character s name based on the fluidity and persuasion

Are Competitive Sports Really Good for Kids?
Competitive sports are a topic that is still heavily debated on, even today. Most people have formed a
very strong opinion on this issue, and on whether or not competitive sports is detrimental to children s
and teens health and well being. However, I believe that when children and teens play competitive
sports, this leads to many downsides, and negative side effects, including: the increased risk of health
issues compared to other types of sports, a decreased enjoyment of the actual activity, and the loss of
kids and teens confidence and self esteem, which could lead to other, but no less important, issues,
such as substance abuse and stress, due to the competitive and winning focused nature of these kinds
of sports. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
There have been multiple, very severe cases in which people, even adults, have died or been heavily
injured while playing competitive sports. For one, several N.F.L. veterans have been exhibiting
Alzheimer s like symptoms in their 40 s. Troy Aikman couldn t remember a Super Bowl victory, and
Steve Young retired due to concussions. In addition, teenagers have died after playing too soon after a
concussion, which was received while they were playing competitive sports. (Cohen, 2009,

competitive sports, which not only involve intense activity, but aggressive emotions, as well, are more
likely to result in a heart attack than any other forms of exercise, according to the New York Times.
This shows that competitive sports can be very dangerous, and, sometimes, fatal. This is a risk that

If you didn t know already, Facebook is one of the platforms that constantly updates and changes their
newsfeed algorithm to improve what posts visitors are served in their newsfeed. Over the years, these
tweaks seem to lean more and more towards getting businesses to pay to reach a higher percentage of
their page fans but oftentimes can be combatted, at least to a certain degree, by switching up your
Facebook strategy. Here are two of the changes that have been made recently: 1. Reducing links to

quality links, no matter what comes after the slash (/). B. Pop up ads or lightboxes It wasn t that long
ago pop ups were the bane of our online existence. Later, sites began to implement ads in lightboxes
or modals a kind of pop up that doesn t open in the web page via a script or other types of
programming so that they couldn t be blocked by pop up blockers until ultimately sites started to
figure out that visitors hate any kind of ad that keeps them from viewing what they came to the site to
view. But they haven t gone away completely; most sites have just modified their use to only make
asks related to the site or brand itself, such as signing up for a newsletter, following them on social
media, or just sharing the article, which can be a great list or follower builder. Unfortunately,
Facebook makes no differentiation between these new uses and the pop up windows of old. If you

Regarding the provenance of the raw materials, in this work we focus in the limestone, being an
important construction material that was not present in the immediate surroundings of

geological limestone outcrops were located far away. According to the historical sources written
during the 16th century, the Aztecs imported by way of tribute and commerce lime and limestone from
different regions. For instance, the tributary lists known as the Matrícula de

an interest in visual arts. She began painting but realized that there were limitations that slowed her
work and ideas down. From there she took interest in photography. I was meticulously copying other
art and then I realized I could just use a camera and put my time into an idea instead. says Sherman.
Her primary focus was set on photography. Her, Robert Longo, Charles Clouhgh, and Nancy Dwyer
created an arts center in Buffalo. Sherman produces her photography in a series which she usually
shoots by herself. Sherman dresses up in a wide array of costumes and plays multiple roles, for
example a model, director or hairstylist. Sherman s work has

Corpse Bride Symbolism
The character that really caught my attention was Emily. Considering the fact she has been dead for
year now Burton did a splendid job creating a mysteriously alluring corpse bride. Relating death to the
color blue because blue is the coldest color, Emily is blue from head to toe except for her subtle but
sweet pink lips. Corpse Bride had me at the maggot. In multiple scenes the corpse bride s eye falls out
and a maggot comes from inside her head and gives her advice. I feel the eye falling out is to
symbolize Emily being half blind to what s going on around her. The fact that Burton can use stop
motion and have an eyeball fall from Emily s face is pure magic. Based on true events dating back to
the 19th century about gangs that would snag

Humans Impact On Climate Change
Humans Impact on Climate Change Most of the blame for climate change over the years especially
after the 1850 s has been placed on humans. As long as modern humans have roamed the earth, they
have been upsetting the natural balance of the earth. People have did this by clearing areas of land,
killing animals, polluting water, etc. Before the modern human , people like the Native Americans
cared for the earth. They respected the land and the people that cared for it. Unfortunately, people don
t care anymore. Until recently, people did not care for the earth. People did not realize the harm they
were causing it. Now we know how detrimental things are that we continue to do and used to do. We
are slowly destroying our climate and environment. The land and ocean surfaces have warmed
roughly 1.53 degrees Fahrenheit from 1880 2012 (How much has the global temperature risen since
1880? 1). Land warms faster than the oceans. In the northern hemisphere, 1983 to 2012 were the
warmest 30 year period in the last 1,300 years (How much has the global temperature risen since
1880? 1). This is a cause for concern among scientist. According to the IPCC, Latin America s
contribution of greenhouse gases globally is at a low of 4%. In this area, deforestation is quite
common and the release of carbon to the atmosphere from it has the potential to alter the global
carbon balance. Latin American forest represent 27% of the global forest coverage (The regional
impacts of climate change 1). If

Racial And Ethnic Scales
2.1. Racial and Ethnic Scales
First, it important to highlight the difference between race and ethnicity. Race commonly refers to
groups of individuals that share similar physical and social characteristic where as ethnical focus more
on national and cultural similarities. For example, someone may identify their race as being black, but
their ethnicity as being African American. Over the past few decades, there have been multiple scales
developed to measures a person racial and/or ethic identity. Due to distinct characters of different
groups studies a review of the literature on racial and ethnic identity shows that the majority of

seldom as a member of an ethnic or racial group (Worrell et al. 2017). The second construct is
attitudes about miseducation which reflect the extent to which individuals agree with the stereotypes
about their ethnic racial group. An example of a Miseducation question: I think many of the
stereotypes about my ethnic/racial group are true. (Worrell et al. 2017). The third construct deals with
self hatred, which focuses on how much individuals dislike their ethnic racial group. Example self
hatred question: I sometimes have negative feelings about being a member of my ethnic/racial group

My Application For South Africa
My Application for South Africa 2016 The first time I was introduced to South Africa was last year
during choir. For choir we sang a South African ritual. This enticed me to look into the culture of
South Africa to find out more things about my new found interest. During this investigation I found
out that South Africa is prominent for their unique wild life, it is the only country which has hosted the
world cup for cricket, rugby, and soccer, the vast history due to the colonialization of Africa by
Europe, and the luxurious bodies of water found in South Africa. Also during my research, I found out
that Woodberry offers an exchange program in South Africa. I became extremely interested in this
program. I would love to do this program so ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
These include Nelson Mandela s house, Robben Island, Groot Constantia, The Company s Garden,
and the Bartholomeu Dias Museum Complex. These places entice me due to the fact that history is
one of my favorite subjects.
Another major part of South Africa is the sports seen there. South Africa s main sports are rugby,
cricket, and soccer. I am a huge sports fanatic, however I am not as interested in South African sports
as I would like to be. South Africa has such a dedication to its sports that it is the only country which
has hosted the world cup in rugby, soccer, and cricket. South Africa hosted the rugby world cup in
1995, the cricket world cup in 2003, and the soccer world cup in 2010. I would love to see the
locations of where these important games were played, which brings me to my next point, South
Africa s unique sights. South Africa is also known for its breathtaking sights which include the Kruger
National Park, Table Mountain, Blyde River Canyon, and the Hluhluwe Umfolozi Game Reserve just
to name a few. At these sights you can either see the unique animals of South Africa in their natural
habitat, or look over all of South Africa from the mountain and the canyon. The culture of South
Africa is one of the major reasons why I would love to be able to participate in this unique
opportunity. I also think I would be the right choice for this program due to the person that I am. If I

Essay on Christianity to Japan
Christianity In Japan
Japan has been a home for Shinto and Buddhist religions for centuries. The Christian missionaries
during the 16th, 19th and 20th centuries worked hard to evangelize the Japanese nation but could not
get desired success. There efforts in past failed partly due to sanctions imposed by the local rulers. The
Jesuits missionaries traveled with Spanish and Portuguese traders to many areas of America and Asia
Pacific and established their churches and religious missions. They were funded, sponsored and
trained by their respective governments in order to spread Christianity. At several places they preached
the Christian faith by force but the aboriginal population did not accept it wholeheartedly. Initially the

As a missionary, Xavier went to Asia and carried out his missionary activities in India and Malacca. In
Malacca he met a Japanese rebel, Anjiro who urged him to visit Japan. Xavier went to Japan with two
other missionaries and started his mission. He confronted some problems because of the language
barrier. The Kodansha s Encyclopedia of Japan describes Xavier s arrival in Japan as, In 1547 he met
in Malacca a Japanese fugitive named Anjiro, whose glowing account of his naive country fired
Xavier with enthusiasm to evangelize Japan. Xavier reached Kagoshima with two Jesuit companions
on 15 August 1549, and with Anjiro as his less than adequate interpreter, he preached Christianity and
compiled a simple catechism, with the result that about 100 people accepted baptism. A year after his
arrival Xavier visited Hirado and Yamaguchi, but wishing to obtain permission to preach throughout
Japan, he made his way to Kyoto in an unsuccessful bid to meet Emperor Gonara. He left Japan for
India at the end of 1551 .
The activities of missionaries were generally supported by the local landlords and rulers who wanted
to get monetary benefits from the foreigners. The main centers where the missionaries were settled
include Kyushu, Nagasaki and Honshu. The religion of Jesus was initially taught to ordinary masses
however, by 1563 Omura Sumitada, a daimyo (regional military lord) was converted to the new faith.
It was followed by the conversion of six more

Crying of The Soul
How hard a thing is life to the lowly, and get how human and real! W.E.B. Du Bois. Ghana Calls is a
Poem written by William Edward Burghardt Du Bois. He is also formally known as W.E.B. Du Bois.
He has been referred to as the father of the civil rights movement and as a historian, a sociologist, a
scholar, a teacher, a novelist, and a journalist (Hufford D 1997). This poem was dedicated to Kwame
Nkrumah. Kwame Nkrumah was the Ghanaian leader who declared Ghana independence from Great
Britain (UK). Many of W.E.B. Du Bois literary work was devoted to issues associated with the people
of African descent from America and Africa as well. In the poem Mr W.E.B. Du Bois wrote on how it
felt growing up in Ghana Africa through the eyes of a child having a dream. The depiction of the
dream gave details of the soul of one Ghanaian and the issues of the place they call home. W.E.B. Du
Bois used imagery, personification and other literary devices in Ghana Calls to engage the reader on
what he is trying to convey in his writing.
W.E.B Du Bois used imagery in the poem. Imagery adds intensity to convey the portrait that the
reader wants to paint in the poem. To add a visual picture of the land in the boy s dream Du Bois
wrote Covered in ashes, chained with pain (Ghana Calls Line 22). Streaming with blood, in horror lain

The Treaty Of Versailles On The World After The War Peace...
Introduction:
The Treaty of Versailles was a treaty created and signed to bring peace to the world after the war. The
Treaty started being written in January 1919 at the Paris Peace Conference, and was authored by The
Big Three . The Big Three was an allied group who consisted of France, Britain and the USA. The
French President was George Clemenceau, the British Prime Minister David Lloyd George and the
American President was Woodrow Wilson. All three leaders were influential men who wanted to exert
their power upon the treaty. It was a long 7 months before the treaty was signed. It was signed by the
allies with Germany being a reluctant signatory. Germany felt that the treaty was created to force
revenge upon them and put her to shame. Germany felt this way due to unfairness and demanding
content in the war guilt clause. On the other hand, Woodrow Wilson was striving for world peace
through the establishment of the League of Nations. But was the treaty really designed for the peace of
the world or for the revenge of Germany?
Paragraph 1: The War Guilt Clause and Was Germany Guilty for the outbreak of War?
In the Treaty of Versailles, Article 231 (also known as the War Guilt clause) was the opening article of
the reparations section in the treaty. It states that The Allied and associated governments affirm and
Germany accepts responsibility for Germany and her allies for causing all the loss and damage to
which the allied and associated governments and their nationals

checked in with Aloha Airlines Flight Operations about 5:00am followed by the Captain shortly after.
The aircraft log was signed off and released for flight with no open write ups. They both completed
pre departure duties and proceeded to the aircraft. All pre flight preparations were performed in the
crew compartment and a visual external aircraft inspection was performed. The first officer was

The aircraft was to some extent unstable and was responding to flight control inputs. Captain
immediately began a rapid emergency descent towards Kahului airport on the island of Maui. The
First Officer began calling Air Traffic Control (ATC) to report the flight divert and the state of
emergency. The First Officer could not hear an ATC reply due to the high noise of air blowing through
the crew compartment and cabin. On approach, the First Officer swapped over to the tower radio
frequency and made contact with ATC.
The tower dispatched the emergency response to the runway. The aircraft continued to approach the
airport at an appropriate and safe speed although the flight controls felt sluggish. The aircrew stated
that the controls felt loose with the aircraft rolling left and right. The gear was selected down and the
main gear down position light illuminated. The nose gear light did not illuminate. A manual extension
of the nose gear was performed but the gear light did not illuminate. The gear unsafe light did not

Essay About The Musician
About the Musician On October 20th, an interview was held with Mark Stransky at UnityPoint
Meriter Hospital in the chapel. Stransky has worked in health care for over fourteen years doing
fitness and physical therapy work. Stransky has been holding events at UnityPoint Meriter Hospital
called the Music and Healing Events. According to Stransky, he started these events, three years ago,
it was August of 2014 and the reason I did that is because I ve always been playing piano and I would
take our patients down here on lunch break or after work and just play for them and they really seem
to enjoy it and benefit from it and then I would notice that when I would work with them in PT
settings afterwards they were more responsive so I thought ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net

Stransky played the song, Walk this Way, by Aerosmith to motivate the patient. This song went on to
being her theme song as she continued her rehabilitation. About the Music It is in these events that
Stransky performs all original pieces on the piano by memory. These pieces that are written by
Stransky, have to do with past experiences, nature, or people he holds dear to him. The pieces he
writes, he wants to be relatable for all and any who decide to come listen at one of these events. At the
event, Stransky will then give a brief overview of each piece discussing the meaning behind the song.
With having a set list for each concert, Stransky has to pick which song he will perform for prior to
the event. When asked in regards how does he decide what songs to put on his set list, Stransky
responded by saying, I want music that people can relate to on a number of levels so I know that they
re going through some medical issues that are really difficult so I want to allow them to feel that sort
of sadness and difficulty of that but I don t want to bring them so down the hill they can t get up again
so then I ll put in some pieces that are kind of bouncy and uplifting and encouraging and then they
seem to respond to that mix. This makes Stransky s performances personalized to each event held. The
difference of temp in songs, allow the audience to experience many emotions throughout the concert.
These emotions have even

Although education is a priority when it comes to policy priorities for West, health related policies are
not too far behind. For example, West was coauthor to SB 481, which helps patients who have to pay
high medical bills because their insurance does not cover certain procedures and allows them to seek
help from the Texas Department of Insurance so that through mediation the bill can be balanced (New
Law Helps Patients). This shows that there is agreement between the policy goals of TMA and West
since their vision includes improving the health of all Texans which the bill, which is now law, helps
with since Texans have the opportunity to be assisted so that medical bills can be reasonably paid for
(Vision, Mission, and Goals). An additional bill that shows the agreement between the policy goals of
TMA and West is the Texas Senate Bill 344, which has to do with the emergency medical personnel
that is allowed to transport patients to emergency centers and strives to keep patients safe when
experiencing emergencies by declaring who is able to transport them to emergency centers (Texas
SB344). Senator Royce West was endorsed by the Texas Medical Association in 2014. 4. Senator

John Mcdonald s Influence On Canadian History
I view the old cover as telling me that Canadian history is made up of many different people and
events. Many different individuals who helped shape Canada today bare the cover, as well as different
objects that represent different events.
Near the top of the textbook, right near the title, there is a British flag. Britain had a gargantuan impact
on Canadian history, as Canada was a British colony and Britain continues to influence Canada today.
For example, in Canada we often use British spelling instead of American spelling, like the words
colour, instead of color, and grey, instead of gray.

was the first prime minister of Canada, and ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
These women represent the part women took in Canadian history. Women did not get the right to vote
in federal elections in Canada until 1918, and the first female to practice medicine did not get licensed
in Canada until 1875. The first female judge in Canada was appointed in 1916, and she faced many
challenges, such as male lawyers stating that, because she was a woman, she was therefore not a
person under the law. It was not until 1929 that women were considered persons .
Underneath the two women are RCMP officers. RCMP stands for Royal Canadian Mounted Police.
When people from foreign countries think of Canada, many think of the RCMP. The RCMP was

others were killed in the line of duty by bombings in Europe at Canadian hospitals.

Literary Analysis of Dr. Seuss
Theodor Seuss Geisel, better known as Dr. Seuss, is perhaps one of the most beloved children s
authors of the twentieth century. Although he is most famous as an author of children s books, Geisel
was also a political cartoonist, advertisement designer, and film director (Kaplan). He used the power
of imagination to produce unforgettable children s books and helped solve the problem of illiteracy
among America s children. By using his experiences in life as a foundation for most of his books,
Theodor Geisel created a unique writing style that incorporated various elements and techniques,
enabling his books to appeal to people of all ages. The animated life of Theodor Geisel is evident in
his literary masterpieces. He was born on ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
As a noted perfectionist, he would work hours on his children s books. He once stated, The creative
process boiled down to two things – time and sweat (qtd. in Krull 39). His writing style remained
unchanged throughout his lifetime; the way he wrote in general was a fill in the blank approach and
used whimsical language coupled with artless drawings (Kaplan). In several of his children s books,
Geisel adds more and more tension, building up to the climax only to end in an anticlimactic way. For
example, in The Cat in the Hat, suspense increases as the mess the Cat makes becomes unmanageable.
The illustrations add to this tension as the children s mother is set to arrive. However, just before she
enters the door, the mess is cleaned and sparkling new (Hurst). Although his writing style has
remained unchanged in his years of writing, Dr. Seuss was still able to make reading fun and
enjoyable to children. Theodor Geisel was among the first authors to put illustrations equal with text,
enabling his readers to follow the action and the story simultaneously (Kaplan). True to his eccentric
character and unique perspective, Seuss wanted to draw things as [he] saw them (Kaplan).
Surprisingly, he had strict guidelines on how to write children s books. There was only one illustration
per page and nothing could describe anything pictured. That way, children can work out the story from
the illustrations.

elected position. A few years later in 2006, Booker won the election for Mayor of Newark. In 2013,
Booker was elected senator of New Jersey. Since then Booker has been a highly vocal and devoted
senator. He is dedicated to fighting for his beliefs and serving his constituency. Although Cory Booker
would make an excellent president, there are a few things I would advise him on before starting his
campaign. First, you have to start early. Traveling and campaigning is an obvious an essential part of
the run for president. With such a large and diverse country to represent, a great deal of time and
energy must be allotted to visiting different areas of the nation. If given ample time, you will be able
to visit and spend time in crucial cities ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
This is a simple statement but in fact it is much harder to accomplish than it seems. The incentive to
win votes leads candidates to make promises they cannot fulfill or endorse things they do not believe
in. While many voters make concerted efforts to understand the stances and voting records of various
candidates, the relatability factor is hugely important in deciding who gets elected. Voters want to see
themselves reflected in their government. Clearly a person who is supposed to represent and serve the
American people must be an identifiable and sympathetic character. Booker is smart and intelligent
and has interests of his own. He shouldn t let a publicist tell him what activities to do or how to appear
with his family. The American public wants to see an everyday man who is fit and willing to serve our
nation. The picture perfect family is a false standard that is no longer applicable. We saw this with
Trump. His family is far from traditional but that did not stop him from gaining people s trust through
his grit and tenacity. People identified with his frankness and perspective as a business man. In this
case, his lack of political experience worked in his favor because he appeared to be more in touch with
the everyday life of his supporters. Trying to be someone you re not and fabricating a personal life to
appeal to the public will not work; people can tell. This was a common joke about Hillary Clinton that
she was trying too hard to be cool in order to appeal to the youth and urban voters. To some, this made
her seem even more out of touch. When you fake it, you seem like you have something to hide and it
turns people off of your campaign. What people value most is (at least the illusion of) honesty and
integrity. Being genuine and charismatic, while not qualifications one can put on a resume, are hugely
important in a successful

According to Hedy and her family, Hedy s goal was always to be an actress so it was no surprise to her contemporaries when she dropped out of school to join the theater. It s important to note that the theater was a well respected well attended media outlet in Vienna at that time, the culture of Vienna was accepting and often based on the philosophy and biases expressed ... The biggest issue for Hedy while she was married to Friz was that she was not allowed to work, she described her marriage to him as Being kept in the Gilded Cage and she eventually had to escape the marriage and flee to Paris. This is where she eventually met up Louis B Mayer, a talent scout in Europe, who helped her move to America, change her name to Hedy Lamarr, and begin her Hollywood career. Furthermore interesting is that after Hedy patented her invention, the Navy denied to use it; stating that it just took up too much space onboard their already over packed ships. But Hedy had a will to help with the war efforts, so she went on a campaign to sell war bonds through the influence of her celebrity status. After which she continued her film career for a total of 33 movies [3], raised three children one of which she adopted, and married and divorced five more times. Hedy eventually died on January 19, 2000 in her home in Casselberry, FL, ironically enough she spent most of her last few years in seclusion only communicating with her family via a cellphone, the very technology her invention helped create. Struggling to Define Industry in the Industrial Disputes Act INTRODUCTION No other provision of the Industrial Disputes Act, 1947 (hereinafter ID Act) has been under as much scrutiny as the definition of industry given under section 2(j). To avail the benefit of the ID Act, it is necessary for the worker to prove that his place of employment falls under the purview of the definition of industry in s 2(j). Over the years the judiciary has laid down certain tests and criteria to determine and limit (or as seen later, expand) the scope of the legislation to extend the benefits to workers in different establishments. One such issue was to examine if educational institutions (universities, schools, etc) would fall under s. 2(j). This essay starts by tracing the judicial developments with regard to educational institutions under s 2(j). ARE EDUCATIONAL INSTITUTIONS INDUSTRY ? Black men who are portrayed as Sambo are shown as a very happy, lazy, docile, aggregable, and carefree man. This stereotype is used in television shows because he can be laughed at, hence, humor is a form of oppression (Drew 4). In the first season, episode 1 he says, I m a free spirit, you need to let me fly (Uncle Buck (2016) Season 1). This line coincides with the idea of the carefreeness a Sambo. A few scenes later, he is seen taking a nap shortly after being given the responsibility of taking care of his nieces and nephew and after being awakened by them goes to the kitchen and drinks orange juice straight from the jug. These actions exhibit traits associated with the Lazy Black Man. However, Uncle Buck does not represent all Black men and evidently many can tell this is an over exaggeration of the stereotype, yet, many such as white Americans may take the overarching idea that Black men are lazy, carefree and very happy go lucky and apply it to situations in which they encounter Black ... Sweetness Of The Belly By Camilla Gibb Sweetness in the Belly by Camilla Gibb Sweetness in the Belly by Camilla Gibb is a moving, heart warming tale about a young woman, who suffers from insecurity and self identity through a world where she is considered an outsider. The novel s protagonist is Lilly Abdal, born to British vagabonds as she is left in the hands of the Great Sufi Abdal, who raises her to become a white, devout Muslim woman in East Morocco. The author seamlessly weaves in Dr. Aziz, an Ethiopian man who creates sparks in Lilly s heart, only to be separated once Lilly s embarks to London, England. Camilla Gibb takes the tale of an outcast, spun with religious beliefs and morals, to create a powerful story that challenges and uplights the reader s mentality on religion and what it means to follow religious and cultural traditions. Lilly, born in London, England was raised by a Sufi, the Great Abdal after the murder of her parents in Morocco. She lived in a Muslim shrine for ten years under the influence of the Great Abdal, adopting his surname, legally becoming his daughter. In her years of learning the Qur an, Great Abdal undertakes an Ethiopian orphan named Hussein, whom he adopts as a son. Vint Cerf, the father of the internet said that in a 2002 memo to everyone providing information to the internet community entitled The Internet is for Everyone. The idea that the internet should have unlimited access is still something that is hotly contested even today. Net neutrality must stay because the internet was intended to allow free access to all, it s promised in the Universal Declaration of Human Rights, and because corporations cannot be trusted to do what s right over their own gain. The internet was designed to be free. As Vint Cerf stated in his memo The Internet Is for Everyone, Internet is for everyone but it won t be if Governments restrict access to it, so we must dedicate ourselves to keeping the network unrestricted, unfettered and unregulated. We must have the freedom to speak and the freedom to hear. Government regulation of the internet was something Cerf foresaw and feared. According to Science Daily, the Internet s original purpose was to share information. Mainly between doctors and scientists to spread new discoveries and information. Without net neutrality, information would be harder to share and access, causing the internet to fail in its primary goal. If I could go back and do it again, there are a few things that I would like to change. There are so many positives from this unit that I hate to look at the things that did not work out, so I will do a little of both. We will call it pro, con, con, pro, a little method I learned from my years of helping with sorority recruitment. I will start off with a positive, address two negatives, and end with a positive. One positive from this unit was that I always had a backup when or if the technology does not work. This was a major positive for me because I had a lot of technology incorporated in my lesson but was faced with the terrible news that the school Wi Fi went down, for four days, during my unit. Instead of having the students read from the book or listen to me lecture for 84 minutes, I decided to incorporate other ideas. We got lucky during this time because the landline still worked, and since Mr. Cooper had a smart projector, we were able to still use the internet and technology. I am one of the biggest fans when it comes to technology but now I truly understand the importance of having a backup plan when it decides not to work for you. Another time, when I needed copies for all of the students, the copier decided that it did not want to work. So, we had to improvise and I ended up typing the instructions onto a PowerPoint that I displayed on the board for all the students to see. ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Such an example is Mr. Grace, an additional character in the film who recited aloud the poem Broken Vows . In actuality, the poem is titled The Grief of a Girl s Heart , an orally traditional poem in Irish folklore with an unknown author. The original poem consists of 14 stanzas, which speaks of a tale of love and betrayal where a young woman is in love with a man who promises her the world, only to get abandoned by him in the end. The version Mr. Grace read aloud was composed of six stanzas. Pilipp claims that this was because including the entire poem as part of the recitation would have added a more than subtle reminder to Gretta of her young love and a certain incongruity with Joyce s original plot (61). Having the entire poem equally measured to the song would have taken away from the importance of the song as Joyce meant it to be in the same way that having part of the poem recited in the story gave a lead into how Gretta s feelings for Michael Furey recurred. Competitive sports are a topic that is still heavily debated on, even today. Most people have formed a very strong opinion on this issue, and on whether or not competitive sports is detrimental to children s and teens health and well being. However, I believe that when children and teens play competitive sports, this leads to many downsides, and negative side effects, including: the increased risk of health issues compared to other types of sports, a decreased enjoyment of the actual activity, and the loss of kids and teens confidence and self esteem, which could lead to other, but no less important, issues, such as substance abuse and stress, due to the competitive and winning focused nature of these kinds of sports. ... Stransky has been holding events at UnityPoint Meriter Hospital called the Music and Healing Events. According to Stransky, he started these events, three years ago, it was August of 2014 and the reason I did that is because I ve always been playing piano and I would take our patients down here on lunch break or after work and just play for them and they really seem to enjoy it and benefit from it and then I would notice that when I would work with them in PT settings afterwards they were more responsive so I thought ... At the event, Stransky will then give a brief overview of each piece discussing the meaning behind the song. With having a set list for each concert, Stransky has to pick which song he will perform for prior to the event. When asked in regards how does he decide what songs to put on his set list, Stransky responded by saying, I want music that people can relate to on a number of levels so I know that they re going through some medical issues that are really difficult so I want to allow them to feel that sort of sadness and difficulty of that but I don t want to bring them so down the hill they can t get up again so then I ll put in some pieces that are kind of bouncy and uplifting and encouraging and then they seem to respond to that mix. This makes Stransky s performances personalized to each event held. The difference of temp in songs, allow the audience to experience many emotions throughout the concert. He is African American and his religious affiliation is Baptist. He belongs to the Democratic Party; therefore, he shares my preferred party preference. Senator Royce West has been in office since January of 1993, so he has been in office for a total of 24 years. 2. One of the recent pieces of legislation authored by Royce West is the Texas State Senate Bill 121 (TX SB121) which relates to businesses that let people with bad credit borrow money in exchange for things such as titles etc. This bill was introduced to the Texas Senate on November 10th of 2014. Although education is a priority when it comes to policy priorities for West, health related policies are not too far behind. For example, West was coauthor to SB 481, which helps patients who have to pay high medical bills because their insurance does not cover certain procedures and allows them to seek help from the Texas Department of Insurance so that through mediation the bill can be balanced (New Law Helps Patients). This shows that there is agreement between the policy goals of TMA and West since their vision includes improving the health of all Texans which the bill, which is now law, helps with since Texans have the opportunity to be assisted so that medical bills can be reasonably paid for (Vision, Mission, and Goals). An additional bill that shows the agreement between the policy goals of TMA and West is the Texas Senate Bill 344, which has to do with the emergency medical personnel that is allowed to transport patients to emergency centers and strives to keep patients safe when experiencing emergencies by declaring who is able to transport them to emergency centers (Texas SB344). Senator Royce West was endorsed by the Texas Medical Association in 2014. 4. Senator Royce West, who is a Democrat, was able to win election in my district because of many factors. • 33. John Mcdonald s Influence On Canadian History I view the old cover as telling me that Canadian history is made up of many different people and events. Many different individuals who helped shape Canada today bare the cover, as well as different objects that represent different events. Near the top of the textbook, right near the title, there is a British flag. Britain had a gargantuan impact on Canadian history, as Canada was a British colony and Britain continues to influence Canada today. For example, in Canada we often use British spelling instead of American spelling, like the words colour, instead of color, and grey, instead of gray. To the right of the title is a picture of John A. Macdonald, who was essential to Canadian history. He was the first prime minister of Canada, and ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... These women represent the part women took in Canadian history. Women did not get the right to vote in federal elections in Canada until 1918, and the first female to practice medicine did not get licensed in Canada until 1875. The first female judge in Canada was appointed in 1916, and she faced many challenges, such as male lawyers stating that, because she was a woman, she was therefore not a person under the law. It was not until 1929 that women were considered persons . Underneath the two women are RCMP officers. RCMP stands for Royal Canadian Mounted Police. When people from foreign countries think of Canada, many think of the RCMP. The RCMP was founded in 1920, and continues to be a symbol of Canada today. The last picture on the front cover is of a female nurse. She represents the nurses of World War I. World War began in 1914, and ended in 1918. A total of 3141 Canadian volunteered in this war, and out of the 2,504 nurses overseas, 53 were killed either by drowning, disease, or enemy fire, while others were killed in the line of duty by bombings in Europe at Canadian hospitals. • 34. Literary Analysis of Dr. Seuss Theodor Seuss Geisel, better known as Dr. Seuss, is perhaps one of the most beloved children s authors of the twentieth century. Although he is most famous as an author of children s books, Geisel was also a political cartoonist, advertisement designer, and film director (Kaplan). He used the power of imagination to produce unforgettable children s books and helped solve the problem of illiteracy among America s children. By using his experiences in life as a foundation for most of his books, Theodor Geisel created a unique writing style that incorporated various elements and techniques, enabling his books to appeal to people of all ages. The animated life of Theodor Geisel is evident in his literary masterpieces. He was born on ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... As a noted perfectionist, he would work hours on his children s books. He once stated, The creative process boiled down to two things – time and sweat (qtd. in Krull 39). His writing style remained unchanged throughout his lifetime; the way he wrote in general was a fill in the blank approach and used whimsical language coupled with artless drawings (Kaplan). In several of his children s books, Geisel adds more and more tension, building up to the climax only to end in an anticlimactic way. For example, in The Cat in the Hat, suspense increases as the mess the Cat makes becomes unmanageable. The illustrations add to this tension as the children s mother is set to arrive. However, just before she enters the door, the mess is cleaned and sparkling new (Hurst). Although his writing style has remained unchanged in his years of writing, Dr. Seuss was still able to make reading fun and enjoyable to children. Theodor Geisel was among the first authors to put illustrations equal with text, enabling his readers to follow the action and the story simultaneously (Kaplan). True to his eccentric character and unique perspective, Seuss wanted to draw things as [he] saw them (Kaplan). Surprisingly, he had strict guidelines on how to write children s books. There was only one illustration per page and nothing could describe anything pictured. That way, children can work out the story from the illustrations. ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 35. Cory Booker elected position. A few years later in 2006, Booker won the election for Mayor of Newark. In 2013, Booker was elected senator of New Jersey. Since then Booker has been a highly vocal and devoted senator. He is dedicated to fighting for his beliefs and serving his constituency. Although Cory Booker would make an excellent president, there are a few things I would advise him on before starting his campaign. First, you have to start early. Traveling and campaigning is an obvious an essential part of the run for president. With such a large and diverse country to represent, a great deal of time and energy must be allotted to visiting different areas of the nation. If given ample time, you will be able to visit and spend time in crucial cities ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... This is a simple statement but in fact it is much harder to accomplish than it seems. The incentive to win votes leads candidates to make promises they cannot fulfill or endorse things they do not believe in. While many voters make concerted efforts to understand the stances and voting records of various candidates, the relatability factor is hugely important in deciding who gets elected. Voters want to see themselves reflected in their government. Clearly a person who is supposed to represent and serve the American people must be an identifiable and sympathetic character. Booker is smart and intelligent and has interests of his own. He shouldn t let a publicist tell him what activities to do or how to appear with his family. The American public wants to see an everyday man who is fit and willing to serve our nation. The picture perfect family is a false standard that is no longer applicable. We saw this with Trump. His family is far from traditional but that did not stop him from gaining people s trust through his grit and tenacity. People identified with his frankness and perspective as a business man. In this case, his lack of political experience worked in his favor because he appeared to be more in touch with the everyday life of his supporters. Trying to be someone you re not and fabricating a personal life to appeal to the public will not work; people can tell. This was a common joke about Hillary Clinton that she was trying too hard to be cool in order to appeal to the youth and urban voters. To some, this made her seem even more out of touch. When you fake it, you seem like you have something to hide and it turns people off of your campaign. What people value most is (at least the illusion of) honesty and integrity. Being genuine and charismatic, while not qualifications one can put on a resume, are hugely important in a successful ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
