Examples Of Rivalry In Hamlet
In Hamlet by William Shakespeare, there are multiple of characters who seduce their enemy into
their death and by avenging the death of their loved ones. Rivalries among characters are one of
the constant themes that we happen to see throughout Hamlet. Not only does rivalry or revenge as
you would like to say it inhabit in almost every scene of the play, nevertheless it has a great
outcome in Hamlet. Throughout Hamlet, there happens to be multiple of conflicts in which
characters want to avenge the death of someone in their family who has passed away. In the play
Hamlet intends to avenge his father s death by killing King Claudius, Laertes plans to kill Hamlet,
and on the other hand, Fortinbras wants to take back his father s land that his... Show more content

It first all started off when Laertes hears about his father s death but won t receive any
information on who s done it. He gets angered by it and tells Claudius that he would take his
position of the king if he doesn t receive any information. Claudius then tells him that Hamlet
was responsible for the whole thing. Laertes then Vows to the blackest devil! only I ll be
revenge Most thoroughly for my father (4.5.149 154). Claudius agrees with Laertes to take part
in a plan to kill Hamlet. Laertes asks Claudius to come up with a fencing match in which he
would be able to kill Hamlet with a poisoned fencing sword. Claudius believes that Laertes has a

I thought she was very beautiful.
Henry impression toward Catherine is not enough to justify his action toward Rinaldi. Catherine
was the woman whom Rinaldi after. Rinaldi was the best friend of Henry but Henry betrayed
Rinaldi just because of Catherine. It inferred that Henry s impression toward Catherine was not
just beauty but also something called love. Rinaldi s love towards Catherine was deep. Rinaldi
was willing to learn English because he wanted to get close to Catherine. Furthermore, Rinaldi
would like to marry Catherine. Rinaldi s love toward Catherine can be found as follows:
I was very dusty and dirty and went up to m y room to wash. Rinaldi was sitting in the bed with a
copy of Hugo s English Grammar. He was dressed, wore his black boots, and his hair shone.
Rinaldi: I am now in love with Miss Barkley. I will take you to call. I will probably marry Miss
Barkley. Rinaldi: I must make on Miss Barkley the impression of a man of sufficient wealth. You
are my great and good friend and financial protector.
Quotation above expressed Rinaldi s love toward Catherine and Rinaldi and Henry s friendship.
Rinaldi and Henry was the brother at arm. Henry was willing to lend his money to Rinaldi but he
was not willing to give Catherine to Rinaldi. It was obvious that Catherine is the precious thing in
Henry s life; that precious thing is love. Henry was an atheist which means that he did not believe
in God. Henry revealed

If you haven t heard, President Obama was in Hollywood yesterday. He traveled with his
motorcade to Hollywood for a guest appearance on a late night TV show. Fans who were visiting
the area got a big surprise that they will never forget. As for the locals, they are still grumbling
over the traffic woes. Every time I see the motorcade I just smile in awe. Little American flags on
the corners of the cars, police everywhere and patriotic music blaring. OK, technically the music
is from my car, but it s a good time to share a patriotic tune when the president drives by. I always

Analysis Of On Truth
Today s political climate is a polarizing topic. Every form of media has an opinion on it from
major news outlets to adult animated sitcoms. Harry Frankfurt s book On Truth is relevant to the
political storm that is brewing in American society due to the manipulation of the truth by political
figures and mainstream media. Frankfurt approaches the importance of truth in a unique fashion
and vilifies lies and those who spread them. This directly relates to the election year and how the
truth is shrouded in mystery. The Daodejing and Socrates writings, while both important in
literature are not as pertinent to the charged political climate that is taking place in the United
States right now. For the first time in American history there has been mass protests across the
country due to the Republican nominated president elect Donald J. Trump. People from many
major cities went to the streets to say things like Not My President and Never Trump. It is safe to
say Trump s campaign has been riddled with controversy and has been criticized by both major
political parties. Trump s campaign is not the only one with problems. Democratic nominee Hillary
Clinton has been met with constant problems throughout her campaign she has been accused of
numerous corruption scandals. The American public is deeply divided and believes they had to
pick between the lesser of two evils. This is all a distortion of the truth. The media is turning into a
propaganda machine who reports biased

Grief Counseling Essay
Grief counseling is a division of social work that involves the interpersonal aspect of the social
worker s role as expert in coping with death. In this paper I will define grief counseling and some
ways to cope with loss. Next I will discuss the history and seven stages of grief. There are two
main forms of grievers which are intuitive and instrumental. In addition there are four major types
of grief which are acute, anticipatory, sudden and complicated. The helping process is explained
as well as some disorders related to grief. A current trend for grievers is to seek involvement in
programs such as the Canadian Cancer Society, Missing Children of Canada and Victim Services.
These organizations provide counseling services and crisis... Show more content on Helpwriting.net

People going through grief often feel disorganized and have difficulty eating, sleeping or
concentrating. Grief counselors ease the expression of emotion and thought about the loss and
give insight to their feelings (Doka 1996). There are numerous reactions to grief, both good and
bad. Behaviors that deal with grief positively are through art, writing, support groups or
celebrations of the loved one. Some negative ways to deal with grief include feelings of anger,
frustration, helplessness, depression and withdrawal from family and friends. A common yet
self destructive way to cope with loss is by turning to substances such as alcohol or drugs. This
also requires counselors in order to help them get to the root of their problems. Sigmund Freud
was an influential psychoanalyst in the late 18th century to the early 19th century. He made
many advances in the field of psychology which have impacted other academic areas such as
sociology and social work. In his 1915 paper Mourning and Melancholia he connected the normal
realm with the pathological. In which he compared mourning a normal if painful event from
which hardly anyone is spared with a pathological although very common one: melancholia
(Fiorini et al. 2007). The natural human process is to mourn the loved subject or object when it is
lost. Freud explains that grief is the feeling of losing love and once it is fully lost desolation and
fear takes its place

Cuban Politics And Its Effects On The United States
Alberto Korda took two photos on March 5, 1960. One of the still frames would immortalize
one of the most infamous and controversial ideologues to have ever lived. The image being
draped over millions of shirts, posters, and most significantly the Ministry of the Interior building

The Castro family has held power in Cuba since the 1960 s. Cuba being ruled by Fidel Castrountil
recently his brother Raul took charge. Both men being disliked by the global public and Fidel
Castro recognized as an evil dictator. What is many times overlooked was the fact that Che Guevara
was just as pivotal to the sinister Cuban regime. Che had major effects on the abuse of a society,
Cuban politics, and the justification of evil.
While still idolized by many, Che was far from a hero or a just man. Through the annals of
history there have always been false idols who have abused power. The individuals who lead these
great attacks on not only people that they attack but the good of humanity as a whole. Che Guevara
was a leader of the Cuban Revolution who still represents hope and anti oppression for many.
Despite his later vile and atrocious acts he is still mistakenly viewed as an icon a facade of what
is imagined of him to be. The reality is that he committed evil and impermissible acts This is a man

The case Road to Hell by Gareth Evans is a story that involved two characters with different
backgrounds, personalities and points of view. John Baker, an English expatriate, is a successful
western chief engineer in the Caribbean Bauxite Company of Barracania.
Baker thinks he has an edge in working in a foreign country because he was experience in
understanding a regional staff s psychology and knowing exactly how to get along with locals.

of growth. Rennalls resignation might also create crisis communication within Barracanian and
European which the Barracanian would think that the racism of European had caused the resignation
of Rennalls. Therefore, the misunderstanding will continue to rise. Baker should also make another
discussion or meeting with Rennalls before hiring him back. This step should be taken to explain
the misunderstanding that happened and also to prevent another similar incident to happen again.
However, the consultation is needed for Baker to build up a better communication skills before
having a conversation with Rennalls again.

The Caribbean Bauxite Company should organize the company in a diverse and fair working

employee that has high performance and high interpersonal skills without any bias. A diverse
environment must be created by include people which from different culture and background. A
consultation on communication skills to every employee also needed to improve the

Taxation Without Representation
Oppressors or Bullies? Taxation Without Representation Why weren t the thirteen colonies
willing to abide by England s laws? While some people were horrified with the Stamp Act, others
were completely accepting of this new act. Janis Herbert stated in her book, The American
Revolution for Kids, that after the French and Indian War, England had many debts, which
obviously needed to be paid (3). England s Parliament decided the American colonists needed to
pay their debts for them. England went about this matter by raising taxes and requiring a stamp
for fifty different documents (Gale Encyclopedia Par. 2). Since America was not yet a country,
and had no representation, they were trapped with the laws Parliament passed. Even though
England was trying to pay off their debts from the French Indian War, they went about it the
wrong way, because they expected the American colonists to pay by increased tax dollars. This is
an example of taxation without representation, because the American colonists didn t have
representatives, or the opportunity to vote. To help pay off their debt, England scheduled the
initiation of the Stamp Act, which placed a tax on fifty different documents, on November 1,
1765 (Gale Par. 2; Brindell 13). This act was to put a tax upon every paper commonly called a
pamphlet and upon every newspaper (Copeland 193). Because the Stamp Act was an internal tax,
which meant this tax law was only enforced in America, this made the colonists even

Characteristics Of Lilly As A Homosexual
Characteristics of Lilly as a Homosexual
Lilly discovers that she has an erotic and emotional connection to women as opposed to men.
However, she does not want to reveal her sexual orientation to the society, rather makes it a secret
affair. In school, she continues to study like a normal student leaving her nightlife out of the public
limelight. She opts to live two lives; one that is known to the majority of the society and another
that is a secret to her and friends. She is not willing to make her sexual orientation known to the
people for fear of victimization by the society members.
Moreover, Lilly is in denial of her sexual orientation at some point. In an attempt to try and be
straight, she marries a gay man, but the marriage lasts for less than a year. The quest of trying and
becoming a person she does not make one understand how she feels about her sexual orientation.
Moreover, her marriage to a gay man confirms her fears of being a lesbian. Although she tries hard
to try something out, it refuses to work; hence, opting to stick to her sexual orientation.
Lilly uses her sexism to appeal to people in night clubs. As a lesbian, she poses nude photos as
well as stripping in clubs for money. She also goes to lesbian clubs in Los Angeles since it is the
place she feels contented. She engages in lesbian relationships in an attempt to satisfy her
gratification for women. She lives the life of a lesbian without being suspected as a homosexual.

Career And Technical Education Programs
Career and Technical Education programs, known in the profession simply as CTE, provide
students an opportunity to prepare for a wide range of careers. Students are exposed many
disciplines including health care, agriculture, business, and graphic design. Through these programs
students get to explore various career paths and get hands on training, which will help them to be
more employable as they transition into the workforce.
Holland (2013) notes that, Despite stubbornly high unemployment, many employers complain that
they can t find qualified candidates. Often, the mismatch results from applicants inadequate
communication skills.
As Holland points out, the need for skilled workers is extensive. In a time when unemployment
rates are high there are plenty of people willing to work, but because of a shortage in literacy skills
and experience, there are not many people able to work in these positions. Students who
participate in CTE programs may be more prepared to enter the workforce because of the hands on
experience they receive in the classroom and through co curricular programs such as DECA or FFA.
In addition to not having experience, students are not employable because of their lack of
communication skills. Students who are not literate are not able to communicate in writing with
clients, coworkers, or a supervisor. An inability to express oneself effectively and coherently will
render an individual unemployable. Why students are unable to

Evidence of Dissociative Identity Disorder in Fight Club
In the movie Fight Club we are introduced to an average, white collared, middle aged man who is
seemingly normal at first glance. However, it is clear that the narrator suffers from insomnia,
anxiety, and depression very early in the film. The narrator attempts to combat these symptoms in a
number of ways, however, the only way that he has found to be effective is by attending support
groups on a nightly basis.
The narrator soon creates an alter ego (though we do not know he is his alter ego until the end of
the film) named Tyler Durden. Durden is more attractive, has a better physique, and is overall more
confident than the narrator and Durden regularly takes control of the narrator without the narrator s
knowledge to carry out ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
What is more, the narrator flagrantly engages in impulsive, irresponsible, risk taking behaviors that
place him and the general public in danger. According to Sadock Sadock(2007) dissociative identity
disorder commonly presents with many of the same symptoms that plague the narrator in stating,
affect modulation is frequently disturbed, giving rise to mood swings, depression, suicidal
tendency, and generalized irritability. Impulse control is often impaired, leading to risk taking,
substance abuse, and inappropriate or self destructive behaviors. High levels of anxiety and panic
are common (p. 672).
Based on all of the narrator s symptoms it is clear that the narrator fits the diagnostic criteria for
dissociative identity disorder not otherwise specified. The diagnosis of dissociative identity
disorder requires the individual to have two separate personalities or identities that take control of
the individual. In this specific case, the narrator only suffers from one separate identity taking
control and therefore he does not meet the criteria for dissociative identity disorder. The DSM IV
TR supports diagnosing the narrator with

The Society of New France Essay
The Society of New France There were many early expeditions from Europe to North America,
most in search of a
Northwest Passage that linked the Atlantic to the Pacific, thus leading to the wealth of Asia .
These excursions alerted Europeans of the resources North America offered and this attraction of

Malcolm X was assassinated February 21, 1965. Malcolm s assassination was unjust because he
was intelligent and was a truthful freedom fighter and empowered blacks but however he

He was also known as El Hajj Malik El Shabazz. He was the fourth of eight children born to

Resource Based Sources of Competitive Advantage
| Critically discuss the importance of resource based sources of competitive advantage in one of
the industries studied on this module. You should discuss a range of companies. Competitive
advantage is when a firm sustains profits that exceed the average for its industry. The goal of
much of business strategy is to achieve a sustainable competitive advantage. Porter identified two
basic types of competitive advantage; cost and differentiation. These two advantages are known as
positional advantages as they describe the firm s position in the industry as a leader in either cost
or differentiation. However, in this assignment I will discuss and analyse the importance of the
resource based view, (which is also known as the... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
This core competence is of vital importance as the inability to innovate in today s ever changing
environment may lead to entropy and ultimately cessation of trade. Being truly competitive. It is
crucial that a resource ultimately delivers a true competitive advantage. This core competence
highlights the fact that it is not enough for an organisation just to realise the resource as being a
strength, but that it must also be able to prove that it is of both better quality and at a lower cost
than the competition. This in basic terms means that it is not good enough for instance to produce a
low cost, high quality product, but that it must have not only lower costs than the competitors, it
must also produce items of a higher quality or standard that that of its competitors. An example of
this is to consider that if Rolls Royce s Far East division does not produce higher quality at a lower
cost than both General Electric and Pratt amp; Whitney, it could not gain competitive advantage as
this core competence would not be relevant in this situation. Substitutability. A resource is more
likely to be able to gain competitive advantage if it cannot be substituted. Although the resource
based view is in opposition to Porter s views on strategy, his five forces model identified the threat
of substitutes as an environmental force that can influence an organisation in gaining

Sherlock Holmes Is A Hero Analysis
Sherlock Holmes is no hero In most stories, the protagonists are celebrated by the readers and
their questionable actions are excused. There is no hero like the intelligent Sherlock Holmes, who
solves crimes with the power of deduction. However, what if Sherlock was not a good person, like
they lead you to believe? His will to do inhumane things without a second thought, how he likes
mocking others and him letting others suffer suggest he isn t the hero the Sherlock Holmesseries
needs. Sherlock Holmes will kill to finish a case. In The Speckled Band, Sherlock viciously
attacks a highly venomous snake to get it to turn on its master, Dr.Roylott. He admits himself
that, In this way I am no doubt indirectly responsible for Dr. Grimesby Roylott s death, and I
cannot say that it is likely to weigh very heavily upon my conscience. (28). Not only did he just
admit that he is responsible for having killed a man,he also admits that he does not feel bad. In
Sherlock s defense, Roylott wasn t a nice guy and he had it coming. However, he has no excuse
for his actions in The Adventure of Charles Augustus Milverton. Sherlock pretends to be
engaged to a maid at Charles s house to get info on Augustus so he can break into his house and
steal the love letters (7). Thus Sherlock pretends to love someone then after that person is not
needed he just leaves the poor woman heartbroken? When Sherlock discusses his plans to break
into Charles s house to Watson he says [...] I mean to burgle Milverton house to night. Watson
replies For heaven s sake, Holmes, think what you are doing (8). So even his best and only friend
Watson is reluctant to follow him. They then witnessed Charles s murder but they do not do
anything about it (16). Clearly Sherlock is not a good man.
They say knowledge is power. Knowledge is a good thing but Sherlock can not get enough of it.
He clearly knows a lot. He could tell Jabez Wilson had been to China by looking at one tattoo.
According to him The fish which you have tattooed immediately above your wrist could only
have been done in China. (The Red Headed League, 3). Think of all the good he could do with all
his knowledge and power. Instead, he uses his knowledge mainly to tease

Describe what a healthy atmosphere in a church should be like.
A healthy atmosphere in a church should be one of safety, freedom, non judgment, peace, joy and
trust. Church should feel like walking into your home and feeling free to be yourself and freely
able to come and worship God.
4. What is the problem with sin management theology ?
Sin management theology leads us to believe that we must earn God s love and grace through our
works and actions, which contradicts the whole purpose of Jesus coming to the earth. Those living
under the law showed that man could never earn God s love and grace through works because of
man s fallen nature. Therefore, it causes humanity to live in a broken state that results in hiding and
disregards the righteousness given to us by God.
5. Define the true meaning of biblical humility
Biblical humility is humanity way of accessing God s community of grace. True humility is an

Greek s Influence On The Roman Way Of Life
Greek s Influence on the Roman Way of Life It is no secret that the Greeks have made a huge
impact on how the Romans lived their life. The Romans very much admired the way the Greeks
did life, and did a fine job of adapting it. Rome showed an extraordinary talent for adopting and
adapting the best of other cultures: Etruscan and Greek (Fiero 165). Time after time, we see that
the past cultures have effect on future cultures and the way of living. The past cultures is sort of
like a trial and error for the future societies. Out of the many things that Rome picked up from
Greece, there were three that stood out the most. First, the Romans picked up the Greek style of
architecture, using it in some of their most known buildings. Second, we see the influence of
Greece through the Roman art. Third, the Greeksinfluenced the Romans through music. The
Romans eventually put their own spin on what the Greek did, but they still adopted most things
from the Greek. One of the main areas that we can see the influence of the Greeks in the Roman
Empireis through the architecture that they used. Both Greece and Rome have some of the most
beautiful architectural buildings in the world. The two that are most notable is the Parthenon in
Greece and the Pantheon in Rome. The Romans picked up on the Greeks most favorite form of
architect: the arch. The arch constituted a clear technological advance over the post and lintel
construction used by the Greeks in buildings like the Parthenon

Juror 7 12 Angry Men
The movie 12 Angry Men is about a group of jurors that are trying to decide if a boy is guilty of
killing his father. Throughout the movie most of the jurors believe that the boy is guilty and
they believe he is guilty because these jurors are discriminating against the boy. They judge the
boy based on where he is from and his background rather than further discussing the evidence.
However one juror, juror eight, kept an open mind which promoted reason and he tries to show
this reason to the other jurors. He knows what it is like to be a boy at that age. His goal is to get
the other jurors to look more closely at the evidence and understand that a person s life is at risk.

All of the jurors are calm sitting around the table thinking it was an obvious decision, until juror
eight votes non guilty. The other jurors believe that the evidence given by the witnesses should
be enough to prove that the boy is guilty. They also refer to the boy s background. Juror seven
makes a statement that you could tell that the boy was a dangerous killer and the boy s record.
He mentions these things to try and convince the other jurors that they boy was guilty and there
was no need to further discuss the evidence. The jurors think the boy is dangerous because of
where he was raised. The boy was raised in a bad part of town where the jurors believed violence
was a way of life for people like him . These jurors did not have an open mind about the boy. They
do not want to look further into the evidence because they do not see the point in doing that. Some
jurors begin to walk around and this shows their aggravation of having to stay and further discuss
the evidence. At this point these jurors are not keeping an open mind and they are ignoring reason.

Changes In Sweetheart Of The Song Tra Bong By Tim O Brien
Topic: War, change
Theme: War changes the soldier s personalities and perceptions.
Thesis: O Brien reveals that no matter what the circumstances were the people who were exposed
to the Vietnam War were greatly affected; O Brien showed this through the changes in Mary Anne
Bell. The Sweetheart of the Song Tra Bong , by Tim O Brien, is a short story about how Mark
Fossie brought Mary Anne Bell, his girlfriend, to the VietnamWar, thinking that this would be the
best thing for both of them. It turns out that Mary Anne s personality and appearance were
drastically altered during the war. This caused a change in their relationship. Mary Anne came into

Mary Anne s character showed increasingly inhuman and savage tendencies. She wore a bush hat
and filthy green fatigues; she carried the standard M 16 automatic assault rifle. Her face was
black with charcoal (11). In this sentence, Tim O Brien described the changes that Mary Anne
overcame from this young pure girl to this indigenous person living in a harsh jungle by
describing her attire, a bush hat, M 16, and her face was black with charcoal. Through this
sentence, Mary Anne, the character and behavior of soldiers change throughout the war, because
this pure girl does not turn into a indigenous human like this without any reason. She was also a
part of the land. She was wearing her culottes, her pink sweater, and a necklace of human
tongues (20). In this sentence, Mary Anne is seen as a complete iron hearted and psychotic. Tim
O Brien has a lot of implications in this sentence. First, a human necklace human tongue (20)
shows the character like an insane and heartless soldier changed by war. She wears her culottes,
her pink sweater (20), this sentence is externally shown to the soldiers who want to go back to
when they were pure. However, Tim O Brien also reveals the soldiers would like to return to their
former mental status after the Vietnam War, but the soldiers were already past the point of no
return, they lost their emotions and part of themselves. These the soldiers became too dangerous

alopecia may send shudders down your spine, it is something you can control. You can stop it and
prevent it from happening to you. Let us find out the most important facts about this condition.
Causes
Traction alopecia is caused by too much tension on hair due to the following:
Trichotillomania (an impulse disorder characterized by excessive hair pulling with the hands)
Frequent use of hair rollers
Tight headwear
Habitual use of tight headbands, hair clips, and barrettes
Frequent use of glue on hair weaves and wigs
Dreadlocks
Tight pigtails, ponytails, and braids ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
However, African American women are more likely candidates for traction alopecia because of their
hairstyling techniques. The same is true with ballerinas who usually have their hair tied in tight
ponytails.
Symptoms
Traction alopecia treatment is more effective and easily done if diagnosed early. The usual
symptoms of this condition are:
Excessive hair loss and damage
Bald spots in random parts of the head
Itchiness and redness in the scalp
Blisters and pimples in the scalp
Headaches
Treatment
For treatment to be effective, traction alopecia should be detected before it reaches the stage of
permanent damage. The good news is that stopping this condition is fairly easy. Here are the best
practices in treating or stopping traction alopecia:
Change of hairstyle
Use of mild hair products
Injection of intralesional corticosteroids
Application of minoxidil
Regular use of jojoba oil, coconut oil, argan oil or castor oil
Prevention
Hair loss is a devastating condition but it can be prevented. You need to protect yourself and your

Examples Of Hyperboles And Pathos In The Giraffe
The short story The Giraffe by Mauro Senesi uses hyperboles and pathos to demonstrate how quick
society is to discriminate and be neglectful based on the fear of the unknown. Ultimately depicting
that misconceptions created by society can influence how change is perceived and welcomed. The
Giraffe is a fictional short storythat is about a giraffe that is introduced into an environment where
mentalities are outdated when it comes to things that are out of the norm . This new tall animal is
viewed as a massive threat and is severly unwelcomed by the townspeople. Although the giraffe
was not welcome the boys of this small town decide to keep it but face jurastic consquences when
caring for the animal becomes a hassle.
Firstly, Senesi uses hyperboles in The Giraffe to show how society despises new ideas and change,
which restricts citizens to adapt to grow as people in society. An example when the boys were
walking with the giraffe through the streets of the village they described the roofs couldn t
imprison that high head, and [...] the giraffe [was] our periscope, to see from up above who
knows what, who knows where (Senesi, line 47 51). Clearly this quote is a hyperbole since the boys
and giraffe are walking on the streets and a roof is unable to inprison someone who is walking
outdoors. What the author is trying to convey is that the boys are starting to pay attention to issues
in their community that they used to be oblivious to. Furthermore, Senesi criticizes how

Rosencrantz And Guildenstern Are Dead
Founded by SГёren Kierkegaard, existentialism is a philosophy concerning why life exists and the
meaning behind it. It emphasizes how there is no set purpose in life, and the humans just merely
exist in the world. A big idea behind existentialism is that existence precedes essence. After World
War II, existentialismgained popularity in Europe with it appearing in many works of literature. In
the film Rosencrantz and Guildenstern Are Dead, the main characters of the film contemplate the
meaning behind life throughout the movie, especially during their exchange about death in a box.
Similarly, in Shakespeare s Hamlet, the main character questions life and death in his famous To be
or not to be speech. Both of these works of literature seem... Show more content on Helpwriting.net

Through this delivery, the audience hears a lot about his thoughts regarding life and death.
Hamlet seems to think that dying ends all the suffering and heartache of living. Hamlet says, To
die, to sleep / No more and by a sleep to say we end / The heartache (Shakespeare III, i, 68 70). To
him, death is freedom. This is actually very similar to the existentialism, as they view death as
nothingness and freedom. Furthermore, Hamlet fears death because of the uncertain. He says, But
that the dread of something after death, / The undiscovered country from whose bourn / . . . Thus
conscience does make cowards of us all (Shakespeare III, i, 86 87 and 91). The unknown scares
Hamlet. This view is quite a departure from existentialism. Existentialists believe that death is
nothingness not unknown like Hamlet. Moreover, in the end of Hamlet s speech, he mentions how
a well thought out plan may be overthought causing the action not to happen. Hamlet seems to
believe that one should act quickly and not overthink. This seems contrary to existentialism.
Existentialists believe in freedom of choice; however, they believe that choices have a huge
impact. Therefore, they should be well thought out and not carried out rashly. In this sense, Hamlet
does not seem to follow the existentialist viewpoint. Hamlet s To be or not to be speech in the play
allows the readers to see his

What Are Death Camps Like In The Holocaust

just taking away. You were probably wondering what they did at the death camps and what
happened in the camps? There were six major death camps, Aishwitz, Birkenav, Chelmna, Sobibor,
Treblinka, and Warsaw. Jewsweren t the only victims in the camps, there were also Gypsy people,

An Introduction Of Martingale Theory
Introduction to Martingale Theory
Martingale Theory is a simple mathematical model which models sequence of a fair game [1]. It
is a stochastic process on some probability space {О©, F, P}. Originally it was used as a betting
strategy during 18th century in France. In 1934, Paul LГ©vy introduced concept of Martingale in
probability theory. It is named after La Grande Martingale, which means strategy for even odd bets
where bets are doubled every time we lose. Idea behind this betting strategy is tht one cannot expect
gains without taking risks.
To understand Martingale, we need to understand Filtration first.

Causes Of Unemployment In Australia
Analyse the causes of unemployment, its effects on the Australian economy and how they are
addressed through use of macroeconomic policies. Unemployment refers to when an individual
is actively seeking work and is aged 15 years or over, but is unable to find work (not hired). There
are many causes and effects of unemployment that result in different actions being made by the
Australian government through their use of both monetary policy as well as fiscal policy. The
unemployment rate is calculated by measuring the number of unemployed over the total labour
force (anyone 15 years or older who currently has a job or is actively seeking) [x100]. While the

E.g. Cyclone Debbie, which tore down many banana plantations in Queensland, rendering those
farmers who worked there and were unable to work after the cyclone were/are seasonally
unemployed as the environmental conditions do not suit their needs. An increase or decrease in the
unemployment rate can have a multiple effects on the Australian economy, both beneficial as well
detrimental to the economic conditions and the societal outlook. An increase in the unemployment
rate means that more individuals do not have an income, thus meaning many households suffer
reduced disposable funds. This causes a decrease in the level of aggregate demand within the
economy and therefore reduces economic growth. This in turn causes a slower circular flow of
income, meaning that households may be forced into or past poverty, as a result of the lowered
income generated, reducing the living standards and quality of life. The downturn experienced by
the economy can also offset many individuals seeing them not wanting to return back to the
workforce due to the lack of jobs available, making them long term unemployed rather than
cyclically unemployed, or if the firm initially was promoting structural change, structurally
unemployed. Combined with poverty, the aspect of unemployment can lead to other severe mental
health issues and illness reaching extremes. To combat high

other reactants will eventually lead to the production of alum.
Materials and Methods Starting the experiment, 1.0184 g of aluminum pieces were weighed out on
an analytical balance. The aluminum was then placed in a 250 mL beaker containing 50.1 mL of
1.4M potassium hydroxide. The solution was then heated on a hot plate set at 80ВєC for
approximately 35 minutes with a spin of 240 RPM. At the end of the 35 minutes, the solution has
become black in color and many of the pieces have broken down. The beaker was rinsed with 10
mL of distilled water after the mixture was poured through the BГјchner funnel of the aspirator. The
filtrate was put into a clean 250 mL beaker to be added with 20.5 mL of 6.0M sulfuric acid, stirred
slowly when added. The reaction was then put into a 1L beaker Вѕ full of ice and water to kick
start the reaction into making the alum crystals. The stirring rod was used to help activate the
crystals. Once the making of the crystals had finished, it was poured into the filtration apparatus to
separate the crystals from the solution. While the crystals were drying, the watch glass was
weighed at 57.1161 g on the analytical balance. After the crystals where dry, they were

Good Will Immanuel Kant
In this essay, I will show that Immanuel Kant is wrong to think that the only thing good without
limitation is the good will. My first step in defending this thesis will be to review Kant s
argument about how the good will is intrinsically good. I will then try to undermine his view by
showing it supports implausible claims. For example, the premise of Kant s claim is that good
will is unconditioned. However, the good will may depend on outside factors to bring about good
in a person. Thus, I argue that if Kant s theory were true, it would be very difficult to be a good
person as utilitarianism do not allow for acts that go beyond duty. Kant s argument suggests that
good will is the only thing good without qualification. First, Kant begins to distinguish between
things that are good without qualification and things that are good only under certain qualified
conditions. For example, gifts of nature such as understanding, wit, and judgement, or gifts of
fortune such as power, riches, or honor may be used for the good or bad, and they also have limited

The person decides that he must jump in and save the person from the river because he believes
it is the morally good thing to do. Although he did not have to jump in and save the person, he
decided to because there was a morally good reason to do so, and it was an act that went above
the call of duty. Consequently, if one wants to be a good person in the world, it would be
implausible for someone to put their own duty above feelings in their intentions, as that would
seem to make the act insensitive. Therefore, if someone does a kind act for someone else, they
are doing it because it is a morally good action and in contrast to Kant, not necessarily because it
is a morally right action, as people do good for others because they feel positive towards the end

Exploration of Child Labor
Child Labor, a Global Problem with Local Causes Christopher King, Debra Hang Aguayo, India
Williams University of Phoenix It is hard to imagine that in 2009 that child labor still exists.
However, it is true that children all over the world are waking up and going to work instead of
going to school. As the gap between the rich and poor grows, more children will be forced to
give up school for work. Is there an answer to this problem that will lead to the elimination of the
dilemma? Has the practice been in place for so long that it has become so accepted that the there
is no viable solution? Is it possible to protect the children of the world by speaking up for those
who are unable to speak for themselves? Within the... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Some other major factors that contribute to child labor include parental illiteracy, lack of
education, exploitation of cheap labor, family expectations and traditions, limited choices for
women and public opinion that downplays the risk of early work for children. Children are
often given employment because they are easier to exploit than adults are. Children are
considered powerless and paid much less than their parents who are often unemployed or
underemployed. Child labor is often considered a problem that only affects developing
countries, but child labor is a global issue. Asia, Africa and Latin America have the highest rates
of child labor, but the United States, Canada, Europe and other wealthy nations also employ a
small number of child laborers. Some of the most common jobs for child laborers include
domestic servants, factory workers, farmers and miners. In poverty stricken areas, it is not
uncommon for a child to desert school and begin work in order to provide for themselves and their
families. Boys often work in mines, farms and factories, while girls are trained in house duties and
sent off to become domestic servants. Domestic servants are especially at risk of becoming victims
of physical and sexual abuse by their employers. International economic trends have also increased
the amount of child labor in poor, developing countries. Debt, bloated military budgets and
structural adjustment programs imposed by the International

Subject: English 204I Student ID: 140302 Mailbox No: 521The Theme of Silence in Relation to
Nationhood in Obasan. Obasan , written by Joy Kogawa is a story of the Japanese Canadians
during the Second World War. Naomi Nakane, a character in Obasan, tells the story as a child and
as an adult, looking back at her childhood advancement, making progress from silence to speech
the silence of Naomi, and the silence of the Japanese Canadian during the Second World War.
Obasan is a delineation of human rights, abuses and racism that query the lore of Canadian
nationhood. Silence is regarded as the opposite of speech, expression and language. In China and

Her silence increases because she is partially deaf however, she uses it as a means of
communicating and expressing her feelings. Despite her speechlessness, she is caring and loving
towards Naomi and her brother Stephen. To try to meet one s own needs in spite of the wishes of
others is to be wagamama (Obasan, 128). She made herself responsible for the both of them and
was like a second parent to them when their parent disappeared. According to Naomi, she exhibits
the good spirit of helping others in need, making people around her untroubled and happy. Obasan,
unlike Aunty Emily, refuses to come down completely on the issue of forgetting or remembering
and argues the importance of keeping alive stinging memories. Despite her silence, she appears to

Yak Research Paper
Every Tuesday at 3:45 teens, ages 11 to 18, go to Albany County Public Library for a program
called YAK. YAK was first funded by a frozen yogurt company that wanted teens to have a place
they can be themselves without fear of being teased. The librarians decided to call the program
YAK in thanks of the funding that they had received. Once a month the teens get to plan out what
they want to do that month. Some of the things that get chosen are improv, creative writing, trivia,
game day, arts and crafts, scavenger hunts, murder mysteries and the occasional game of Quidditch
at the park. The librarians give teens ideas of things that they can do at YAK and outside of YAK.
The librarians have helped the teens put together a haunted house... Show more content on

Kennedy laughed, shook her head and explained how YAK came into being. She also said that
YAK doesn t stand for anything at all. Then she told us the rules of YAK and how to play book
trivia, which is what we were doing that day. When the librarians put something together that
happens out in the main part of the library, they will randomly put the teens in groups so that
they don t stick with the friends that they came with. This helps keep the teens from excluding
others, even if they don t know that that s what they were dong, and helps them make new
friends. The librarians make it very clear that bullying will not be tolerated at all under any
circumstances. They also make it clear that if you are being bullied, you can go to them and they
will talk to the person who was bullying you. If the person bullying you doesn t stop, the
librarians will talk to their parents. Everyone is welcome at YAK, you will not be left out because
you talk, look or think differently. Everyone comes from a different place, everyone has different

  • 7. Analysis Of On Truth Today s political climate is a polarizing topic. Every form of media has an opinion on it from major news outlets to adult animated sitcoms. Harry Frankfurt s book On Truth is relevant to the political storm that is brewing in American society due to the manipulation of the truth by political figures and mainstream media. Frankfurt approaches the importance of truth in a unique fashion and vilifies lies and those who spread them. This directly relates to the election year and how the truth is shrouded in mystery. The Daodejing and Socrates writings, while both important in literature are not as pertinent to the charged political climate that is taking place in the United States right now. For the first time in American history there has been mass protests across the country due to the Republican nominated president elect Donald J. Trump. People from many major cities went to the streets to say things like Not My President and Never Trump. It is safe to say Trump s campaign has been riddled with controversy and has been criticized by both major political parties. Trump s campaign is not the only one with problems. Democratic nominee Hillary Clinton has been met with constant problems throughout her campaign she has been accused of numerous corruption scandals. The American public is deeply divided and believes they had to pick between the lesser of two evils. This is all a distortion of the truth. The media is turning into a propaganda machine who reports biased ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

In this paper I will define grief counseling and some ways to cope with loss. Next I will discuss the history and seven stages of grief. There are two main forms of grievers which are intuitive and instrumental. In addition there are four major types of grief which are acute, anticipatory, sudden and complicated. The helping process is explained as well as some disorders related to grief. A current trend for grievers is to seek involvement in programs such as the Canadian Cancer Society, Missing Children of Canada and Victim Services. People going through grief often feel disorganized and have difficulty eating, sleeping or concentrating. Grief counselors ease the expression of emotion and thought about the loss and give insight to their feelings (Doka 1996). There are numerous reactions to grief, both good and bad. Behaviors that deal with grief positively are through art, writing, support groups or celebrations of the loved one. Some negative ways to deal with grief include feelings of anger, frustration, helplessness, depression and withdrawal from family and friends. A common yet self destructive way to cope with loss is by turning to substances such as alcohol or drugs. This also requires counselors in order to help them get to the root of their problems. Sigmund Freud was an influential psychoanalyst in the late 18th century to the early 19th century. He made many advances in the field of psychology which have impacted other academic areas such as sociology and social work. In his 1915 paper Mourning and Melancholia he connected the normal realm with the pathological. In which he compared mourning a normal if painful event from which hardly anyone is spared with a pathological although very common one: melancholia (Fiorini et al. 2007). The natural human process is to mourn the loved subject or object when it is lost. • 13. Taxation Without Representation Oppressors or Bullies? Taxation Without Representation Why weren t the thirteen colonies willing to abide by England s laws? While some people were horrified with the Stamp Act, others were completely accepting of this new act. Janis Herbert stated in her book, The American Revolution for Kids, that after the French and Indian War, England had many debts, which obviously needed to be paid (3). England s Parliament decided the American colonists needed to pay their debts for them. England went about this matter by raising taxes and requiring a stamp for fifty different documents (Gale Encyclopedia Par. 2). Since America was not yet a country, and had no representation, they were trapped with the laws Parliament passed. Even though England was trying to pay off their debts from the French Indian War, they went about it the wrong way, because they expected the American colonists to pay by increased tax dollars. This is an example of taxation without representation, because the American colonists didn t have representatives, or the opportunity to vote. To help pay off their debt, England scheduled the initiation of the Stamp Act, which placed a tax on fifty different documents, on November 1, 1765 (Gale Par. 2; Brindell 13). This act was to put a tax upon every paper commonly called a pamphlet and upon every newspaper (Copeland 193). This core competence is of vital importance as the inability to innovate in today s ever changing environment may lead to entropy and ultimately cessation of trade. Being truly competitive. It is crucial that a resource ultimately delivers a true competitive advantage. This core competence highlights the fact that it is not enough for an organisation just to realise the resource as being a strength, but that it must also be able to prove that it is of both better quality and at a lower cost than the competition. This in basic terms means that it is not good enough for instance to produce a low cost, high quality product, but that it must have not only lower costs than the competitors, it must also produce items of a higher quality or standard that that of its competitors. An example of this is to consider that if Rolls Royce s Far East division does not produce higher quality at a lower cost than both General Electric and Pratt amp; Whitney, it could not gain competitive advantage as this core competence would not be relevant in this situation. Substitutability. A resource is more likely to be able to gain competitive advantage if it cannot be substituted. The Romans very much admired the way the Greeks did life, and did a fine job of adapting it. Rome showed an extraordinary talent for adopting and adapting the best of other cultures: Etruscan and Greek (Fiero 165). Time after time, we see that the past cultures have effect on future cultures and the way of living. The past cultures is sort of like a trial and error for the future societies. Out of the many things that Rome picked up from Greece, there were three that stood out the most. First, the Romans picked up the Greek style of architecture, using it in some of their most known buildings. Second, we see the influence of Greece through the Roman art. Third, the Greeksinfluenced the Romans through music. The Romans eventually put their own spin on what the Greek did, but they still adopted most things from the Greek. One of the main areas that we can see the influence of the Greeks in the Roman Empireis through the architecture that they used. Both Greece and Rome have some of the most beautiful architectural buildings in the world. The two that are most notable is the Parthenon in Greece and the Pantheon in Rome. Thesis: O Brien reveals that no matter what the circumstances were the people who were exposed to the Vietnam War were greatly affected; O Brien showed this through the changes in Mary Anne Bell. The Sweetheart of the Song Tra Bong , by Tim O Brien, is a short story about how Mark Fossie brought Mary Anne Bell, his girlfriend, to the VietnamWar, thinking that this would be the best thing for both of them. It turns out that Mary Anne s personality and appearance were drastically altered during the war. This caused a change in their relationship. Mary Anne s character showed increasingly inhuman and savage tendencies. She wore a bush hat and filthy green fatigues; she carried the standard M 16 automatic assault rifle. Her face was black with charcoal (11). In this sentence, Tim O Brien described the changes that Mary Anne overcame from this young pure girl to this indigenous person living in a harsh jungle by describing her attire, a bush hat, M 16, and her face was black with charcoal. Through this sentence, Mary Anne, the character and behavior of soldiers change throughout the war, because this pure girl does not turn into a indigenous human like this without any reason. She was also a part of the land. She was wearing her culottes, her pink sweater, and a necklace of human tongues (20). In this sentence, Mary Anne is seen as a complete iron hearted and psychotic. Tim O Brien has a lot of implications in this sentence. First, a human necklace human tongue (20) shows the character like an insane and heartless soldier changed by war. She wears her culottes, her pink sweater (20), this sentence is externally shown to the soldiers who want to go back to when they were pure. • 32. Examples Of Hyperboles And Pathos In The Giraffe The short story The Giraffe by Mauro Senesi uses hyperboles and pathos to demonstrate how quick society is to discriminate and be neglectful based on the fear of the unknown. Ultimately depicting that misconceptions created by society can influence how change is perceived and welcomed. The Giraffe is a fictional short storythat is about a giraffe that is introduced into an environment where mentalities are outdated when it comes to things that are out of the norm . This new tall animal is viewed as a massive threat and is severly unwelcomed by the townspeople. Although the giraffe was not welcome the boys of this small town decide to keep it but face jurastic consquences when caring for the animal becomes a hassle. Firstly, Senesi uses hyperboles in The Giraffe to show how society despises new ideas and change, which restricts citizens to adapt to grow as people in society. An example when the boys were walking with the giraffe through the streets of the village they described the roofs couldn t imprison that high head, and [...] the giraffe [was] our periscope, to see from up above who knows what, who knows where (Senesi, line 47 51). Clearly this quote is a hyperbole since the boys and giraffe are walking on the streets and a roof is unable to inprison someone who is walking outdoors. What the author is trying to convey is that the boys are starting to pay attention to issues in their community that they used to be oblivious to. Furthermore, Senesi criticizes how ... • 33. Rosencrantz And Guildenstern Are Dead Founded by SГёren Kierkegaard, existentialism is a philosophy concerning why life exists and the meaning behind it. It emphasizes how there is no set purpose in life, and the humans just merely exist in the world. A big idea behind existentialism is that existence precedes essence. After World War II, existentialismgained popularity in Europe with it appearing in many works of literature. In the film Rosencrantz and Guildenstern Are Dead, the main characters of the film contemplate the meaning behind life throughout the movie, especially during their exchange about death in a box. Similarly, in Shakespeare s Hamlet, the main character questions life and death in his famous To be or not to be speech. Both of these works of literature seem... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Through this delivery, the audience hears a lot about his thoughts regarding life and death. Hamlet seems to think that dying ends all the suffering and heartache of living. Hamlet says, To die, to sleep / No more and by a sleep to say we end / The heartache (Shakespeare III, i, 68 70). To him, death is freedom. This is actually very similar to the existentialism, as they view death as nothingness and freedom. Furthermore, Hamlet fears death because of the uncertain. He says, But that the dread of something after death, / The undiscovered country from whose bourn / . . . Thus conscience does make cowards of us all (Shakespeare III, i, 86 87 and 91). The unknown scares Hamlet. This view is quite a departure from existentialism. Existentialists believe that death is nothingness not unknown like Hamlet. Moreover, in the end of Hamlet s speech, he mentions how a well thought out plan may be overthought causing the action not to happen. Hamlet seems to believe that one should act quickly and not overthink. This seems contrary to existentialism. Existentialists believe in freedom of choice; however, they believe that choices have a huge impact. Therefore, they should be well thought out and not carried out rashly. In this sense, Hamlet does not seem to follow the existentialist viewpoint. Hamlet s To be or not to be speech in the play allows the readers to see his ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

It is a stochastic process on some probability space {О©, F, P}. Originally it was used as a betting strategy during 18th century in France. In 1934, Paul LГ©vy introduced concept of Martingale in probability theory. It is named after La Grande Martingale, which means strategy for even odd bets where bets are doubled every time we lose. Idea behind this betting strategy is tht one cannot expect gains without taking risks. To understand Martingale, we need to understand Filtration first. An increase in the unemployment rate means that more individuals do not have an income, thus meaning many households suffer reduced disposable funds. This causes a decrease in the level of aggregate demand within the economy and therefore reduces economic growth. This in turn causes a slower circular flow of income, meaning that households may be forced into or past poverty, as a result of the lowered income generated, reducing the living standards and quality of life. The downturn experienced by the economy can also offset many individuals seeing them not wanting to return back to the workforce due to the lack of jobs available, making them long term unemployed rather than cyclically unemployed, or if the firm initially was promoting structural change, structurally unemployed. • 41. Good Will Immanuel Kant In this essay, I will show that Immanuel Kant is wrong to think that the only thing good without limitation is the good will. My first step in defending this thesis will be to review Kant s argument about how the good will is intrinsically good. I will then try to undermine his view by showing it supports implausible claims. For example, the premise of Kant s claim is that good will is unconditioned. However, the good will may depend on outside factors to bring about good in a person. Thus, I argue that if Kant s theory were true, it would be very difficult to be a good person as utilitarianism do not allow for acts that go beyond duty. Kant s argument suggests that good will is the only thing good without qualification. First, Kant begins to distinguish between things that are good without qualification and things that are good only under certain qualified conditions. For example, gifts of nature such as understanding, wit, and judgement, or gifts of fortune such as power, riches, or honor may be used for the good or bad, and they also have limited ... Consequently, if one wants to be a good person in the world, it would be implausible for someone to put their own duty above feelings in their intentions, as that would seem to make the act insensitive. Therefore, if someone does a kind act for someone else, they are doing it because it is a morally good action and in contrast to Kant, not necessarily because it is a morally right action, as people do good for others because they feel positive towards the end ...
