1. Essay Outline Template
Crafting an essay on the subject of "Essay Outline Template" can be a challenging endeavor.
While the topic may seem straightforward, developing a comprehensive and effective essay
outline template requires a deep understanding of the subject matter, a keen sense of
organization, and a mastery of language.
One of the initial hurdles is conceptualizing the framework itself. Deciding on the key
components that need to be included in the template requires a thorough analysis of the purpose
of the essay, the target audience, and the specific requirements of the assignment. Striking the
right balance between providing enough structure to guide the writing process and allowing
flexibility for individual creativity can be a delicate task.
The next challenge lies in the articulation of ideas within each section of the template. Clearly
defining the introduction, body paragraphs, and conclusion, and ensuring that each segment
flows seamlessly, demands careful thought and consideration. Crafting concise and effective
topic sentences, supporting details, and transitions is crucial to maintaining the overall coherence
of the essay.
Moreover, grappling with the challenge of incorporating relevant and compelling content within
the outlined structure adds another layer of complexity. Thorough research and a deep
understanding of the chosen topic are essential to ensuring that each section of the essay
contributes meaningfully to the overall argument or narrative.
Beyond the structural and content-related challenges, the writer must also navigate the
intricacies of style, tone, and language use. Striking the right chord to engage the reader while
maintaining academic rigor can be a delicate balance. This requires a nuanced approach to
language, careful selection of vocabulary, and an awareness of the intended tone for each
section of the essay.
In conclusion, writing an essay on the topic of "Essay Outline Template" is a multifaceted task
that demands a combination of analytical thinking, organizational skills, and linguistic
proficiency. Successfully navigating these challenges results in a well-crafted template that

The eightfold path are the following. Right view, right intention, right action, right
speech, right livelihood, right effort, right mindfulness, right concentration. Right
view is seeing the world as it is right view. Some of the traditions also include kamra
(kamma) here, but most secular Buddhist view kamma as intention or action, so we
place it under Right Action. Additionally, with secular Buddhists, kamma is not
believed to be a system of justice that goes from one life to the next, but instead is
about developing wholesome intention behind our actions so we behave ethically in
this life, with Right Action. Right View also touches on our own views of the world,
how we may grow to them, how we may consider them important, when they are
really not important, and how we can get caught up in them. The second of the
eightfold path is the path to right intention. In order not to create more suffering, we
need to rely on paying attention to what our intentions are with others and with

their emotional, physical and mental well being. Background of Topic Cell phones
date back to as early as the 1970 s. The first cell phone was invented by Martin
Cooper in 1973 (Anjarwalla, 2010). Cooper and his company created this device to
make talking on the phone easier, by making the phone wireless. Now, more than
40 years later there are over 10 major cell phone networks and over 1,000 different
designs of cell phones. The cell phone has evolved greatly over the years, starting
from a very bulky brick shape to a slick 8 inch touch screen cell phone.
Approximately three quarters of the world s population now has access to a
mobile phone, according to a new study from the World Bank (Fitzpatrick, 2012).
Even kids starting at a young age of seven have cell phones. Cell phones are no

The article Camping for Their Lives is written by Scott Bransford. The main idea
that he was trying to get across to his audience was that when people cannot make
ends meet, one might end up in an undesirable living situation such as tent cities as
referred to in the story. In the beginning of the story, a couple from California
named Marie and Francisco were introduced. Unable to afford a mortgage or lease,
they took upon themselves and found a piece of land located in downtown Fresno.
They gathered materials and made a home to the best of their abilities. Marie
acknowledged that the way they lived was unorthodox but she did not complain. She
made it clear that she wanted an actual home with appliances but she was grateful for
what she had. People are blaming the... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
One of the major concerns with the tent cities is the uprise of crime. Most of the
residents that are now living in tent cities have previously been incarcerated. The
article states but the greatest fear for most Taco Flat residents is that they ve lost
their place in mainstream society, whether as a result of mental or physical illness,
of past mistakes, or of the whims of global capitalism. Residents of tent cities are
constantly living in a state of fear because of the sweeps in the name of public health
that were conducted back in 2006. With talks of end homelessness in Fresno, the
people of tent city still remain without hope because to them, this is their new
reality. The purpose of this story is to shed light on what may be an unknown
occurrence. The tone of this story is bias. Scott Bransford is one sided in this article
because he focuses on more of the downsides of tent cities and what would happen if
the government intervened. Although these homeless communities were not ideal,
they were necessary for the survival of those who could not afford to live anywhere

8. The Supply Chain Involved From A Growing Grape
With the global wine industry expected to generate almost $292 billion in 2014,
Wine production and its supply chain are no doubt big business. The supply chain
involved from a growing grape to an uncorked bottle is one that involves many
intricate details. Because of the popularity of wine, grapes are in fact the largest fruit
crop on Earth. But that is not indicative of the complex and interlacing processes that
are necessary to grow the proper grapefor wineproduction. Proper weather
conditions, the right mixture of soil, and balanced pruning are just the tip of the
iceberg in just the first step of the entire wine supply chain. These same grapes that
have been tended to as if they were patrons of a restaurant having their own fine
glass are then picked and crushed only to be placed into containers to begin the
next step of their journey. A long series of processes including, cold soaks, must
adjustments, adjustments, fermentation, and yeast addition are where complex
science and agriculture join forces. In a scene worthy of a science fiction movie in
a mad scientist s labratory, these grapes slowly become wine. Finished product can
be bottled or transferred in bulk to its next destination but will eventually land in a
glass where a final customer enjoys the fruits of all the labor involved in this
harmony of moving parts. This analysis will be a detailed report of exactly how this
supply chain works and how all of these moving parts work to bring the consumer this
9. Images of Love Expressed in the Poetry of Browning and...
Perhaps no other sentiment is so prevalent in poetry, as that of love. The mere word
brings to mind images of romantic affection, lovers entangled in each other s arms,
stolen sidelong glances, whispered words of endearment, and an all encompassing
emotion that transcends the physical, an emotion that is experienced within all
realms of being. However, in both life and poetry, the more joyous sentiments of love
are often accompanied by images of loss and heartache, a contrast which heightens
the imagery experience. The fact that love exists more on a spiritual level than a
physical one serves only to heighten the difficult task of describing it adequately, for
how can one articulate each facet of such a wonderfully vague human emotion?...

She is literally going to list the ways in which she feels love for thee. Instantly, the
reader is struck with the image of a woman preparing to proclaim the depth of her
love and devotion for another. One must also be struck by the sheer vulnerability
of this proclamation. Already, it is understood that this will be a listing of the
ways in which she experiences and defines love, however, the effectiveness of the
image is heightened as each way she loves thee seems to build upon the previous.
She states she loves thee to the depth and breadth and height my soul can reach (2
3). Here she is using personification of the soul, an ambiguous all encompassing
expression of one s spiritual being, to state that she loves with her entire being both
physically and spiritually. By attempting to give physical boundaries to the height
and length one s soul can reach, she effectively broadens the image of the extent to
which her love for thee reaches. She furthers the image of her great love for thee
by stating that she loves thee freely (7) and loves thee purely (8). Her love is not
encumbered by physical restraints; rather it is a more spiritual love, experienced by
the soul and possessing freedom and purity of expression. The image of her great
love for thee is completed with the exclamation that I love thee with the breath,
smiles, tears, of all my life (12 13). This presents the image of a love that
10. Causes Of The Trojan War
The Trojan War was during the Bronze Age in the 12th or 13th century BC. It was
between Greece and Troy. The Trojan War mainly started when the Greeks brought
a wooden horse over to Troy as a sign of peace. However, it was used to take over
Troy since there were many armed men in the horse. A downfall the Trojans had
that led up to this point in time was that they were foolish, Four times did the Horse
halt as they dragged it, before it passed through the gate, and each time their might
have been heard a great clashing of arms within (Church 9). In the Horse, there were
sounds being made but the Trojans did not pay attention to these signs and Troy
suffered as a result. Overall, the Trojan Warwas created due to many gods fighting
over Helen and because of this Troy was taken over by Greece and Aeneas and his
crew had to relocate and find a new safe place to live with the help of Venus and
Apollo by their side.
To begin with, there were a few causes that led up to Greece taking over. The main
cause that brought the Greeks to take over was the influence of the gods. And as
for Helen, why are you angry with her? It is not she, it is not Paris, that has brought
this great city of Troy to ruin; it is the anger of the gods (Church 15). Queen Helen
was captured by Paris so, Helen s husband, Menelaus, lead an expedition to find her.
With the help of Menelaus brother, Agamemnon, they made it to Asia minor, to lay
siege to Troy and requested for Helen s return by Priam and

12. False Killer Dolphins
According to Vancouver Aquarium, the false killer whale was first discovered as a
skeleton, not as a live dolphin. Because its skull looks similar to a killer whale s skull
scientists called it a false killer whale (Pseudorca).
Despite having whale in its name, the false killer whale is actually a large dolphin
like its namesake the killer whale . The difference between a whale and a dolphin is
much like the difference between a ship and a boat . It has more to do with size than
science. In fact, false killer whales are large dolphins. They prefer tropical to
temperate waters that are deeper than 3,300 feet (1000m) and occur in the U.S. in
Hawaii, along the entire West Coast, and from the Mid Atlantic coastal states south.
The species can also be found in all tropical and temperate oceans worldwide.[4] The
young false killer whale in Vancouver Aquarium Chester was rescued by the
Vancouver Aquarium Marine Rescue Team with help from local residents and

Beach in Tofino in July 2014.... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

13. Mental Illnesses And Its Effects On Mental Illness
Mental illnesses are generally characterized by changes in mood, thought, or
behavior. They can make daily activities difficult and impair a person s ability to
work, interact with family, and fulfill other major life functions (SAMHSA, 2015).
Contemplated early on in history, treatments for mental illness looked to cure the
reflections of the anger of gods, demonic possession, sorcery, the evil eye, or an
angry deity, responded with equally mystical, and brutal treatments (Nash, 2007).
Attempts to treat mental illness date back as early as 5000 BCE as verified by the
discovery of trephined skulls in regions of ancient world cultures (Porter, 2002, p.
10). Only a few realized that individuals with mental illness should be treated
humanely rather than exorcised, punished, or banished. Psychiatryhas come a long
way since the days patients were shunned from society and shackled in asylums.
Experiments and techniques for treating mental illness from ancient times to the turn
of the 20th century have paved the way for the treatment plans used today.
The history of mental illness represents the ways in which trends in psychiatry and
cultural understanding of mental illness influence thoughts and attitudes towards
mental health. The earliest records of mental illness show that many cultures have
viewed it as a form of religious punishment or demonic possession. In ancient
Egyptian, Indian, Greek, and Roman writings, mental illness was categorized as a
religious or personal
14. Hippocratic Oath Research Paper
The Hippocratic oath is a set of standards that all doctors sign, used for millennium
to ensure proper care by physicians. In the original form, it guarded the sanctity of
human life with the utmost importance, barring physicians from taking a human
life. It states I will neither give a deadly drug to anybody who asked for it, nor will
I make a suggestion to this effect. Similarly I will not give to a woman an abortive
remedy. In purity and holiness I will guard my life and my art. Through the passing
of time, however, this oath began to reflect a liberal approach on the sanctity of
human life. Many Christians now sign a modified version of the Hippocratic oath
that gives physicians the power to save and take life. In a Christian context,... Show

Tamar s first husband Er, died because he did evil in the sight of the Lord. Judah
told his younger son Onan to fulfill his brotherly duty and give Tamar a son, and
the Lord struck him down. After both of Judah s sons died, he decides to send
Tamar back to her family, treating her as dangerous, even though the sins of Er
and Onan brought about their own death. Judah s third son, Shelah, is not given to
Tamar in marriage, possible because Judah fears what might happen to him. Tamar,
a childless widow without any hope for a child takes the matter into her own
hands, dressing up like a cult prostitute when Judah is at the Israelite sheep
shearing festival. Dr. Mark Leuchter, a Jewish Studies scholar at Temple
University, describes these festivals as local celebrations involving drunkenness
and sexual activity, the release of debts and the settling of scores. The festival that
Judah took part in is known for lecherous behavior, and Judah unsuspectingly
became a pawn as Tamar figures out a way to settle the score with Judah. She
covers herself and has sex with her father in law, and as payment, Judah promise to
send her a sheep, and as collateral, he gives her his signet ring, his cord, and his
staff. These are the most personal items Judah owns, equivalent to giving someone a
credit card, social security card, and driver s license as a sign that he will send
payment. When Tamar is found to be pregnant, Judah orders that she be burned
because of her harlotry. At this point, Tamar shows her father in law the personal
items, and when his shameful behavior is exposed and he is thoroughly discredited,
[and he] makes no attempt to obscure or deny his culpability. Judah understand his
neglect of his daughter in law, and he declares her more righteous than himself. Tamar
15. Analysis Of The Tuskegee Syphilis Experiment
Introduction: The blight on human history known as the Tuskegee Syphilis Study
was on all counts an immoral and unethical research study. Public Health Services
were the ones conducting the experiment, which went on for years (from 1932 to
1972) and throughout the entire thing human beings were used as laboratory animals
(The TuskegeeSyphilis Experiment, 2000). Unfortunately, this study was conducted
when racism was still common, meaning that the human lab rats were poor black
men, because they were seen as lesser beings. These men were lied to in order to
ensure their cooperation with the study. The lies told to them included the omission
of what was actually wrong with them, instead of telling the victims that they had

Caring for individuals is simply having concern for the other person s well being
and understanding the needs of the other person, such as being conscious of their
welfare (Blum, 2001). This was glaringly absent during this time, considering how
many people died because of this experiment. Another principle violated during
those forty years was beneficence, which is an obligation to help others or to do
good. It could be argued that this study was conducted in order to do good, at least
for white people if they learned more about syphilis, but beneficence actually
signifies producing good, not just some good (Kohl, 2001). Another strong clue
that what happened in Tuskegee was unethical was that it did not follow the
framework for research provided in the Belmont Report, where two major pieces
included of which are justice and a respect for persons (Miracle, 2016). The racist
outlook of the researchers which deemed this study acceptable since black men were
considered lesser people entirely vetoed any respect for persons involved as well as
any justice for those individuals automatically.
Eunice Rivers was an African American woman who won the trust of all the men in
the experiment and reassured them in times of doubt. Although she did sincerely care
for them, Eunice blindly followed orders and refused to acknowledge the unethical
and immoral treatments that happened around her (The Tuskegee Syphilis Experiment
, 2000). Her justification of her

South in public facilities was called into question. The trial stemmed from an
incident in 1892 where Homer Plessy took a seat in the whites only railway car
after being asked to move and sit instead in the blacks only car, he refused and was
arrested immediately. In his case his lawyers argued that his Thirteenth and

that the State of Louisiana has the right to regulate railway companies while the

18. The Reformers During Andrew Jackson
The Reformers During Andrew Jackson s term as president, many people seemed to
be more involved in wanting to change people s lives and equalize politics. Jackson
believed that a common man should have the right to have a voice in democracy.
(Grubb) Therefore, once Jackson was elected president people began focusing on the
crisis in the American society. Several reformers stated their perspectives on different
things that America can improve on whether it was about abolition, mental health
care, education, religious reform, or women s rights.
Slavery has been a continuous altercation in abolishing it or keeping it. William
Lloyed Garrison preached about abolition of slavery stating that slavery does not
define Christians. Slaves have the right to have the same exact rights and freedom
as a normal white American. As slavery was still going on, William questions what
Christianity has done for our slave population. In a religious point of view, slavery
is a national sin that must be removed. William compares how slavery would be for
a white person versus an African American and states, The argument that these
white slaves are degraded would not then obtain. You would say: It is enough that
they are white and in bondage, and they ought immediately to be set free. (William
Garrison) William sets a growing sense of social responsibilities by trying to get
America to look at slavery in the eyes of a Christian. The American society today has
drastically changed into everyone

The Great lakes have had many struggles throughout the years. Such as, invasive
species, pollution, and habitat loss. All of these affected the lake in a bad way and
here is how.
Species have been invading the Great Lakes for a very long time. Scientists estimate
that there are more than 185 invasive species in the Great Lakes today. One of the
species that invade the Great Lakes is the Round Goby. This animal usually feeds
on fish eggs, Yellow Perch, Bass, and Walleye. The Round Goby is an invasive
species because it kills other species, or it can make them extinct. Another example
of invasive specie is Quagga Mussel. The Quagga Mussel usually sits in lakes or
oceans, building up over a long period of time, this leads to millions, and millions

21. `` The Cradle Of Freedom `` By Nathaniel Philbrick
Samuel Adams once said, It does not take a majority to prevail... but rather an irate,
tireless minority, keen on setting brushfires of freedom in the minds of men. In
Bunker Hill, Nathaniel Philbrick chronicles how the conflagration of the American
Revolution would erupt from the embers of the past focusing on the great impact
that those involved in the infamous battle for which the book is titled and the battle
itself would have on the colonies and their fight for liberties. This is a vivid
bildungsroman for the city of Boston, teeming with new thoughts and ideals, that
would face internal conflict, which would later give the city the title the Cradle of
Freedom. 1 Setting aside the legends of the revolution, Philbrick presents not only a
historic event in American history, but also the subtle, essential moments that are not
limited to 1775 but are the underpinning mechanics of overthrowing a regime that are
essentially the same today as they were in the eighteenth century; however, focusing
on our mythic Founding Fathers, many overlook the true nature of the war that is
present in every revolution.2
Unlike the hackneyed stories told to us as children on the Fourth of July, the
American colonies were not victims to an overly oppressive, malevolent motherland

the least taxed people in the Western world and that, overall, the claims of English

22. Genetic And Epigenetic Influences On Autism Spectrum...
Genetic and epigenetic influences in autism spectrum disorders: A role for the methyl
CpG binding protein in Rett syndrome.
The genetics of neurodevelopmental disorders (NDD) rarely display a Mendelian
mode of inheritance, and can result from a single rare gene mutation, more common
variations in single nucleotide polymorphisms, or often a combination of these two
factors in conjunction with environmental influences [1]. In contrast, epigenetic
mechanisms are heritable changes in gene expression which do not change the DNA
sequence [1]. Epigenetic changes to the genome may predispose the development of
NDD when combined with the aforementioned genetic risk factors [1].
Autism Spectrum Disorders
Autism spectrum disorders (ASD) are a class of NDD affecting mostly males, which
are largely idiopathic and display extensive variation in terms of phenotype, severity
and degree of heritability [2]. It is postulated that the pathology of ASD is the result
of a complex interaction between genetic predisposition and environmental risk
factors, which disturb the developing brain [1]. ASD commonly involve deficits in
social interaction and cognition, language, emotional learning and the presence of
repetitive, stereotyped behaviours [1, 3, 4]. The brains of autistic children display
reductions in long distance connectivity, abnormally regulated apoptosis and cell
division, and increased inflammation [4].Additional studies have demonstrated
gliosis, abnormal neuronal migration and
23. Similarities Between Beowulf And Katniss Everdeen
Beowulf and Katniss Everdeen have more similarities than one would think,
considering they are from different time periods. Both heroes are brave, are fighter,
and are unselfish. Beowulf was written in the Anglo Saxon period and Katniss
Everdeen is from the Hunger Games, which is a modern piece of literature.
The first similarity is that both of them share the characteristic trait of being brave.
Beowulf shows examples of bravery because he fights a monster, who is very hard
to kill. Grendel, which is the monster s name, is known for killing men and eating
them. For Beowulf to fight Grendel that shows a great deal of bravery. Katniss
shows example of bravery when she goes in an arena with 24 other people and has to
survive and kill. She
24. Essay about Ray Bradbury s Fahrenheit 451
Imagine a society in which technology is so advanced that printed material is no
longer necessary nor is it desired. The citizens sit in their parlors surrounded by
television screens which consume their walls and constantly blare noise so stifling
that one cannot even remember the plot of the show. Before bed, they plug their ears
with seashell earphones which spew out even more clamor. In the mornings, they
drive to work at 100 mph and occupy their time throughout the day with insignificant
activities to the point where they cannot entertain their minds with anything
meaningful. Above all, the people of this society shun books and remain ignorant
about their history and anything beyond their lifestyles. This is the society which Ray

Because the imaginary components of science fiction can be rationalized by potential
scientific explanations, there are elements of non fiction within this genre too. This
combination of both fiction and non fiction is well suited for Bradbury s purposes
because although his book discusses a future society, it also mentions a great deal
about how the world currently is and how it was to some degree when he wrote it
in the fifties. We might not have wall sized television screens, remove intellectual
thought from all our activities, or completely erase books from our lives, but the
road we are headed presages that this could eventually occur. Already television sizes
are escalating to 103 inches and in comparison to television and the internet, books
are definitely not as popular (PhysOrg.com Science News, Technology, Physics,
Nanotechnology, Space Science, Earth Science, Medicine). Bradbury does not want
our society to head down the same road as the one in Fahrenheit 451. He believes one
of the best ways of preventing this is to always remember our history because then
we can avoid repeating past errors. Hence the purpose of books which is to carry
history in written form. Also, he stresses the importance of freedom of speech
because if people are not allowed to voice their opinions and ask questions, there is no
purpose of independent thought. Without independent thought, our minds are
effortlessly molded into whatever others want it
25. Lab 5 Cellular Respiration
Lab 5Cellular Respiration
Introduction:
Cellular respiration is an ATP producing catabolic process in which the ultimate
electron acceptor is an inorganic molecule, such as oxygen. It is the release of energy
from organic compounds by metabolic chemical oxidation in the mitochondria within
each cell. Carbohydrates, proteins, and fats can all be metabolized as fuel, but
cellular respiration is most often described as the oxidation of glucose, as follows:
C6H12O6 + 6O2 в†’ 6CO2 + 6H2O + 686 kilocalories of energy/mole of glucose

Cellular respiration involves glycolysis, the Krebs cycle, and the electron transport

26. Logos In Into The Wild
Many people wish they can drop everything important to them and isolate
themselves from society; very few people will even attempt this, but Chris
McCandless breaks societal norms to accomplish this goal. In Into the Wild, John
Krakauer tells the story of this young man s life to inspire the audience to chase
their dreams through the use of logos, involved sentence, and anecdotes.
Throughout the novel, Krakauer conveys the idea of following one s heart to
reach a sense of self completion. He became quite erudite on McCandless s life to
accurately portray his inspiring story. In order to strengthen his thesis, he includes
facts from McCandless s journey starting from Atlanta, Georgia and ending on the
Stampede Trail in Fairbanks, Alaska. He begins by first announcing the death of
McCandless, followed by detailed stories of when he was alive, then an
analyzation of his death towards the end of the novel. The audience becomes
informed on McCandless s odyssey as Krakauer goes into specific detail to give
the readers a larger insight on his last couple of months alive. By doing so, the
audience is impacted by the inclusion of precise aspects of McCandless s life; it
helps them see what he went through to follow what his heart desired. When
McCandless travels up north, he meets Wayne Westerberg in Carthage, South Dakota,
population 274... (Krakauer 15). Krakauer includes the specific population of this
town to show how few people reside there in order to correctly document the

Health
Kate Guzman, the Associate Director of a school linked health center, was
interviewed to understand the role adolescent health centers play in public health.
During the interview it was learned that adolescent health centers play an important
role in providing some of the ten essential public health services such as monitoring
the healthstatus of a community, informing, educating, and empowering patients on
health issues, and mobilizing community partnerships. Adolescents are an
underserved population that requires health care services that are often controversial.
Kate Guzman and her colleagues, work in a collaborative setting to efficiently meet
the demanding needs of adolescent health.
Kate Guzman, RN, MS, is the Associate Director of the Corner Health Center in
Ypsilanti, Michigan. Originally a small clinic in the corner of a local high school,
the Corner is now a freestanding school linked health center, serving adolescents
ages 12 25 and offers a full range of primary health care, mental health and
supportive services. The Corner s mission is to help young people make healthy
choices now and in the future by providing high quality primary health care,
education and support for adolescents and their children without regard to income
level.
The Corner is staffed by a dynamic, multi disciplinary team including physicians,
nurses, social workers, nutritionists, health educators, patient navigators, and
administrative staff. The staff serves adolescents with the goals to

All around the world, there are areas called Blue Zones, where the life expectancy
is higher than it is in America. The habits the people in these areas do are not only
accomplishable in their zone, but also in other parts of the world. In regards to the
community of Stafford, Virginia, it is more than likely possible for my peers to
adopt some of the habits regularly practiced by the Blue Zoners. On the right side
of the world, there is a Blue Zone in Sardinia, Italy called the Nuoro province.
Here, the Sardinians consume a type of cheese made from grass fed animals so the
cheese is high in Omega 3 fatty acids instead of Omega 6 fatty acids from corn fed

Like Italy, the people of Okinawa have a very specific and focused diet. They
prevent themselves from overeating by eating off of smaller plates, so they tend
to eat fewer calories at every sitting (8:30 8:40). This habit is possible in Stafford if
families began serving food at counters instead of at the dinner table, and not going
back for seconds. Obesity and overeating are large problems in America, so a good
way to fight it is by starting in small communities like Stafford. Apart from the way
the Okinawans eat, the way the elderly live at the time of their retirement is
important. They use the word ikigai as opposed to retirement, which means the
reason for which you wake up in the morning (10:25 10:40). In other words, ikigai
refers to one s sense of purpose. This habit is beneficial because it allows them to
have something to look forward to everyday. To continue this habit in Stafford, the
people in the community should be taught the meaning of the word and be reminded
that by just looking forward each day, about seven years could be added to their life.

32. Teenage Pregnancy And Teenage Pregnancies
The amount of teenage pregnancies in America has skyrocketed in the last few
decades. Young, uneducated children are having sexual intercourse without a clear
understanding of the serious consequents behind their actions, but it is not entirely
their fault because their parents and school s curriculum have failed to bestow a
clear and concise grasp of sex. Sexual educationis typically incorporated into an
academic setting either in middle school or high schoolwhen an adolescent is hitting
puberty. But, teaching sexual education to teenagers when their hormones are off
the roof is like telling a child not to eat a cake after they had just consumed it not
very helpful. If a child is taught at an early age about sexual education, staring in
elementary school, rather than in high school or middle school, it will reduce the
risk of teenage pregnancies, help kids is less self conscience of his or her body, and
gain a clear understanding of sexual transmitted diseases. Risky sexual behaviors
among youth are high. According to the 2011 National Youth Risk Behavior Survey
data, nearly half (47%) of high school students reported having sexual intercourse
(Barr). Now, just imagine how much the percentage would increase if all students
were truthful and the survey were retaken in 2015. In another study conducted on
middle school students, twenty percent of sixth graders have already their first sexual
encounter, and forty two

Joseph Koltes M. Guista English 101 14 Oct. 2010 Oleanna is a two character
play about a power struggle between a University Professor, John, and a student,
Carol, who accuses John of sexual harassment. The play begins when John, a
condescending University Professor who holds power with his status, expresses
his frustration at Carol s class performance as she deduces that he is buying a
house. He feels she is, in reality, bright but troubled, and she agrees, citing her social
and economic background as impediments to her class performance. John lowers his
guard against Carol in order to find her motives for complaining to him. Carol then
goes on the offensive and bombards John with a flurry of his own actions with

of John completely losing himself as he grabs Carol restraining her from leaving.
This was the first threatening mistake John makes in the play which completes the
process of the power shifting from John now to Carol. By act 3, Carol pushes John
completely over the edge. Carol, in contrast to the beginning of the play, is now
completely in control of power over John, and constantly reminds him I didn t have

completely differs from Act one as Carol is now the person speaking
condescendingly towards John constantly interrupting him and not really listening to
what he has to say. John, on the other hand, plays Carol s role at the beginning of the
play. John tries to express his opinions; however, he keeps getting

Nineteenth Century: Iron, Glass and Steel
The nineteenth century saw some changes from the previous artistic periods. This
period contained practical ideas, still with a sort of creative though.
Buildings and towers were built with steel and iron beams and supports. Glass
covered steel/iron webs to create walls, large window, and sunroofs .
A famous architect from this time period is Alexandre Gustave Eiffel.
He built the Eiffel Tower, Bon MarchГѓ Department Store, The Nice
Observatory and The Garabit Bridge.
Following this period was the modern period. Many of the styles and ideas were
carried to the Modern period, and built into designs in a whole different perspective,
as now there were different architectures with different ideas and dreams.

Saint Peter s church is located in Vatican City, Rome, which is located in Italy. The
architect Donato Bramate designed it, and it was to embody the greatness of the

It was created to replace the great basilica (temple), which had been designed by

While most in today s hyper competitive global economy look towards countries
including; China, India, Taiwan, Vietnam, and others in search of lower production
costs seeking the ever illusive comparative advantage, others have different ideas.

As Switzerland is unable to compete globally in the area of inexpensive goods and
services including; toys, manufactured goods, and other products used in mass by
today s consumer it is advised that the nation continue to produce products it currently
specializes in along with expanding its current services to attract foreign investment
into the Swiss economy.
Industries of Specialization and Opportunity
As most already know, the Swiss are renowned for their production of high quality
chocolates including those of the Toblerone and Lindt brands. Switzerland has a
comparative advantage in the production of chocolate. By spending one hour
producing two pounds of chocolate, it gives up producing one pound of cheese,
whereas, if it spends that hour producing cheese, it gives up two pounds of
chocolate. Thus, the good in which comparative advantage is held is the good that
the country produces most efficiently (chocolate). Therefore, if given a choice
between producing two goods (or services), a country will make the most efficient
use of its resources by producing the good with the lowest opportunity cost, the
good in which it holds the comparative advantage, and by trading for the other
good. (Globalization101.org, 2010) While chocolates are one of this country s
specialties it s not the only one. Other areas of specialty already realized and being
readily utilized by the Swiss are the

38. Comparison Of Count Dracula In Bram Stoker s Dracula
And...
Dracula is the infamous vampire, that readers were п¬Ѓrst introduced to by Irish
author Bram Stoker in 1897 when they read his novel Dracula (Stoker). The author
conveys the story of Count Dracula, a mysterious being that is half man, half
vampire that sucks blood from the neck of his victims to stay alive (Stoker). This
novel is an outstanding masterpiece of work, which is why it has been a prototype
for various movie releases over the decades, such as Nosferatu, Horror of Dracula,
Dracula A Love Story, and Bram Stokers Dracula ( Dracula (Universal Classics) ).

He cannot come into a house unless invited or walk in water and his favorite meal

movie there are differences (Stoker). Starting with the novel, it describes Count
Dracula s shadow coordinates with his body, yet in the movie, his shadow works
separately from his body movements ( Dracula (Universal Classics) ). The next
modification of Count Dracula s character in the novel is, he cannot be in or near
the sunlight or it will kill him, however, in the movie, he meets Mina in the
daytime and it does not harm him (Bram Stoker s). Then, in the novel, Dracula is a
purely evil, terrifying blood hungry monster that wreaks havoc on anyone he meets
and feels the need to take life or end life with his arch nemesis being with anyone
who wants to preserve life (Stoker). But in the movie when he meets Mina on the
streets of London, he pursues a courtship with her and he begins to develop feelings
for Mina (Bram Stoker s). When he proclaims his love for her and refuses to
condemn her to the life of a vampire, he is no longer a vile, evil monster (Bram
Stoker s). These modifications to Count Dracula s character in the movie make the
audience see him as a vulnerable, loving man with feelings for a woman who

Paleontological evidence was compiled to differentiate between extant species to

Imperialism s Effect on South Africa Imperialism was a movement that affected all
parts of the world, beginning as early as the 19th century. Wealthy and established
nations would annex and take control of underdeveloped nations and civilize them.
This may sound good in theory, but Imperialism seemed to take advantage of the so
called inferior nations more than truly help them. The economic superpowers seized
the land of the territories they thought to be subordinate, using it as trading depots, an
outlet to gain natural resources, and to civilize the native people. These three factors
continued to be a main staple in society of South Africaeven after imperialism ended
and it was an independent nation. Racial segregation was... Show more content on

honestly! We must say openly that indeed the higher races have a right over the
lower races (Ferry 1). Ferry again went on to explain that it was the duty of the
superior people to cultivate the lives of the natives. Paton and Great Britain also
shared the same views on civilization as the French, but with more of a religious
point of view. Missionaries were sent to spread Christianity, as Paton explains, The
islands of this group on which life and property are now comparatively safe, the
8,000 professed Christians on the group, and all the churches formed from among
them are, by God s blessing, the fruits of the labors of British missionaries, who, at
great toil, expense, and loss of life have translated, got printed, and taught the natives
to read the Bible in part or in whole in nine different languages of this group (Paton

saw the native people as subordinate beings. Together, these three factors of
Imperialism shaped the future of South Africa in the second half of the 20th century.
Although South Africa was fundamentally independent during this time period, there
were irreversible changes made in the mentality of the South African citizens. For

44. Ancient Era Vs Renaissance Era
Great discussion post this week! You have chosen some great artifacts from each
era. All are great advanced designs for each era and truly fascinating to look at as
well. Between the Saqqara Bird, The Morgan Crusader Bible, and The Gutenberg
Press you can see each era s culture through the artifacts and how they do all differ. It
is funny to notice though that the Ancient Era and the RenaissanceEra artifacts that
you have chosen are both made out of wood. Even though these periods are during
two different times, wood was still used and carved for both artifacts. This was
something I just thought when looking at the images you have provided. I also
wanted to mention that the artifact you have chosen for the Ancient Era is similar
to what I have chosen as well. I chose the Shabti dolls, which is similar to the
artifact you have chosen, although the Saqqara Bird s purpose is still not really
known. Anyway, there are many differences between all three artifacts. All three are
beautifully crafted, but in three different and unique ways for each era. The Saqqara
Bird is smoothly crafted and rather simple where the Bible and printing pressfrom the
other two eras are more detailed and elaborate. You can see the changes in time
through the artifacts and the skills and culture through each. The printingpress is a
huge advancement and just goes to show you the culture during this time period.
The bird and the Bible also show the spirituality and faith and even religion of each
era, while the printing press does not. The manuscript that you have selected is
also made and written by hand in this era and the printing press in the next era
shows how all that can now be done by machine. All three artifacts are created
differently because of the changes in each time frame. You can see how the
artifacts advance and how the cultures have evolved as well and what was really
important during each era. It seems like in the ancient era the afterlife was a huge
concern and belief for these people, while during the middle era it has more of a
focus on religion and sharing that, while in the Renaissance era it was more focused
on advancements and production created from the printing press. Contemporary
human creative expression can

Nicklett, 2011). Numerous studies have suggested that a strong relationship between
ethnicity and socioeconomic status exists in America. SES pervades many human
functioning to include physical and mental health (Nicklett, 2011; Williams,
Mohammed, Leavell, and Collins, 2010). Studies have suggested that ethnicity is
related to illness, impairment and death rates (Williams, Mohammed, Leavell, and
Collins, 2010). Communities in American are often segregated by SES, race, and
ethnicity. Minority communities commonly share characteristics of low economic
development, poor health conditions and low levels of educational attainment. Low
SES has consistently been implicated as a risk factor for many of these problems that
plague communities. Research indicates that there are large health disparities based
on social status that are pervasive and persistent (McGuire, and Miranda, 2008;
Fiscella, Gold, and Clancy, 2008). These health disparities reflect the inequalities that
exist in
46. The Conflict Of Divine And Human Law In Antigone By
Sophocles
Sophocles lived in Athens, the most progressive city state at the time. Athenian
society was ruled by a king who enforced laws interlaced with divine ideals. The
king acted as a bridge that conveyed divine ideals and monitored society s
compliance. If a law was broken, a harsh punishment often exile was to follow.
Sophocles wrote the play Antigone in the midst of a revolution in Ancient Greece.
Around 500 B.C., radical thinkers sparked a movement that challenged the way
government was run (Hammer 109). A change was required after the monarchy
became corrupted by tyranny as the king claimed more control and gave less control
to the common people and the gods. In order to create a balanced society, the first
democracy was created in Athens around 450 B.C. The new system of government
did not run smoothly from the start, however. Persons of high status including the
king and his nobles wished to continue ruling with absolute power while the radicals
fought to end corruption. Many years of tumult would follow as the conflict between
divine and human law persisted. Sophocles demonstrates the conflict of divine versus
human law in the play Antigone as the characters defy laws that bring upon them
serious consequences.
Compliance with divine law was important in ancient Greek society. Faith in the
gods was a deeply rooted concept that individuals took seriously. Examples of this
can be seen in the role of oracles and seers. Oracles were establishments where people
often
47. Workplace Protection for Unpaid Interns
Workplace Protection for Unpaid Interns
Sexual harassment claims from unpaid interns against companies have been
consistently dismissed. Current legal precedent forces students who accepting
unpaid internships into a pool of vulnerable, powerless, at risk population. Many
cases go undocumented, interns are often disempowered, feeling inferior in the
workplace, working for no pay (often actually paying tuition for the honor to work
for free), report to multiple superiors. With hopes of a future job offer, interns who
experience harassment may repress their feelings from this inappropriate behavior
(Healey, 2011).
According to David Yamada (2013), an internmust be directly paid by his or her

The Oregon Advocacy Commission in support of HB 2669 to the House Rules
Committee summarized the goals of this policy and the benefits that would be
afforded to interns; providing the protections that we all expect in the workplace to
the hard working interns serving in so many offices state wide. During internships
students are exposed to every working environment and situation which can included
predatory, discriminatory environments. [...] We need to assure that they have rights
and protections.
Description of services
Extending protections to unpaid interns from discrimination and retaliation on the
basis of race, color, religion, sex, sexual orientation, national origin, marital status,
age, military service, and disability (Littler Mendelson, 2013), was a top priority of
this bill. This nationwide issue has received national attention after several cases of
sexual harassment being refused to be heard by the courts. Interns who are not
receiving a paycheck are not employees under the Civil Rights Act and thus, they re
not protected (Hickman Thompson, 2013).
Empowering interns to have legal access to their guaranteed civil rights has been an
issue due to a legal loophole in language, while this has been a long standing issue,
Oregon showed that it can be closed with a simple bill that had unanimous bi partisan
support.

48. The Article On Aliens Among Us
Extraterrestrial life has been a big topic for Americans since day one. According to
author Lee Speigel there is an estimation of 48 percent of Americans throughout
the nation that believe in life on other planets while only 35 percent reject the idea.
Life on other planets exists. According to the article Aliens among Us by Paul,
David extraterrestrial evidence has already been discovered such as different types
of bacteria and even water. The article Aliens among Us is a credible source
because it has many explanations and possibilities on how life on other planets can
easily be real. Extraterrestrial lifecan be many things such as plants or living bacteria.
Astronomers have proven that there is water in other planets such as Mars. Water
contains different types of bacteria and cells, water in other planets can be one of
our best piece of evidence that we can prove that there is life on other planets.
There has been UFO s crashes that have been recorded such as in Roswell, New
Mexico 1947 but the government took all the evidence and it s probably in Area 51.
Although there is no hard evidence that proves aliens are real, NASA has announced
that they will be able to find living creatures by the year 2025.
On July 3rd, 1947 a UFO crashed in New Mexico in a small town called Roswell.
People that have been asked to describe this object all say that was about 20 25 feet
across and it had many different bright lights that were moving across the sky at 400

The Importance of being Punctual
Although the United States is not the only society that places a high regard on being
on time, Americans in particular it would seem have been criticized in the past for
being a highly time oriented people, and some other cultures may not place the same
level of importance on being punctual as exists in the United States today. This sense
of being tied to a clock may strike some observers from other cultures as being
downright psychotic, but the fact remains that the importance of being on time is an
enormously important part of the American value system and it would be reasonable
to suggest that this will not change. In addition, people who fail to be on time ... Show

Many times there are situations where we cannot make it to our appointed place in
time, and in that instance, many situations are excusable until you abuse your
privilege and your tardiness becomes habitual. An easy alternative that involves little
to no repercussions is to make a simple phone call to your immediate supervisor or
someone you can rely on to relay the information for you. This is where the integrity
and responsibility comes into play hand and hand. If you re running late and you
cannot get in touch with your direct supervisor or his or her assistant, and the only
person you can reach is the guy who is regularly late, then how can you possibly
trust that he will relay the message of your absence?
Punctuality is inevitable everywhere. In business also this is very important. If you
want to be a successful businessman, you have to be very particular in being punctual.
The failure to keep up an engagement punctually may mean a setback for his business.
If we study the lives of our great men, we find that punctuality was one of the
secrets of their success in life. The necessity of doing our work punctually should
be felt more keenly because we live today in a complicated society where each work
is dependent on the other. The smooth working of the modern world is due to an
increasing recognition of the necessity of doing our work punctually. Punctuality
being so important in life, it is necessary for every man to cultivate
51. Thoreau Walking Analysis
Thoreau walking Thoreau walking was written by Henry David Thoreau who has
abundant of love for nature and walking. In Thoreau walking Thoreau does not
only talk about his love for nature and walking he also expresses his opinion about
problems that are going on around him and in the society, that he did not approve
of. In addition, Thoreau also gives advice to his readers about what to do to fix
these problems. I believe Thoreau walking to be such a great lecture that instantly
grab your attention and pull you in as you read it. The more you read you become
more and more interested. Everyone may have a different interpretation and
understanding to Thoreau lecture and that what makes it so great. I found myself
reading the lecture couples of time to have my own understanding of what Thoreau
is saying and what he meant in each line. As I read Thoreau walking there are many
quotes that grabbed my attention, however, there are three that I want to examine
and discuss. According to the author I, who cannot stay in my chamber for a single
day without acquiring some rust, and when sometimes I have stolen forth for a
walk at the eleventh hour . (Crosson and Gross, 2017) What Thoreau is trying to
say is that his love for nature is so strong that he cannot stay in his house for a day
without being sick. Therefore, if he stays in the house for too long he will get up
and go for a walk after the eleventh hour because he would no longer be about to
bare being in the house any longer. I agree with Thoreau to a point that I too cannot
sit for hours just being in the house or in one spot for an extensive period.
However, sometimes I do just like to stay in the house and have a lazy day
occasionally. In addition, I do not believe I would feel like I m torturing myself
like the way Thoreau feels when he is in the house and not walking. In the second
quote, the author states that I confess that I am astonished at the power of
endurance, to say nothing of the moral insensibility, of my neighbors who confine
themselves to shops and offices the whole day for weeks and months, aye, and years
almost together . (Crosson and Gross, 2017) Thoreau is saying that he is impressed
with his power of endurance to stop
