Against Abortion Essays
Writing an essay on the topic "Against Abortion" can be a challenging task, irrespective of one's
personal stance on the issue. This subject is deeply rooted in moral, ethical, and religious
perspectives, making it emotionally charged and sensitive. Crafting a compelling essay requires a
delicate balance between presenting a persuasive argument and respecting opposing views.
One of the difficulties lies in navigating the complexities surrounding women's reproductive
rights, healthcare, and societal values. The writer must carefully articulate their stance, providing
logical reasoning while remaining empathetic to the diverse perspectives on abortion.
Additionally, incorporating statistical data, medical information, and legal considerations adds
another layer of complexity to ensure the essay is well-researched and credible.
The emotional nature of the topic also demands a nuanced approach to avoid alienating readers
with differing opinions. Striking the right tone, free from judgment or condemnation, requires a
high level of sensitivity and empathy. Moreover, the essay must address the broader implications
of anti-abortion stances, considering potential impacts on women's health, family dynamics, and
societal well-being.
Furthermore, it's crucial to acknowledge the historical and cultural contexts surrounding abortion
debates, as these factors contribute to the complexity of the issue. Crafting a well-rounded essay
necessitates an in-depth understanding of the multifaceted aspects, requiring extensive research
and critical thinking.
In conclusion, writing an essay against abortion is a challenging endeavor that requires a careful
and thoughtful approach. The complexity of the topic demands a deep understanding of various
perspectives, a balanced presentation of arguments, and a compassionate acknowledgment of the
emotional aspects involved. Success in tackling this sensitive subject lies in thorough research,
empathetic communication, and a commitment to maintaining a respectful dialogue. If you find

Why Did Meriwether Lewis Die Essay
1 / 3 How did Meriwether Lewis Die?
Meriwether Lewis was a confidant of Thomas Jefferson, who was the 3rd President
of the United States. When Jefferson bought Louisiana from Bonaparte, the federal
government thought that the land purchased was a worthless desert. To prove them
wrong, Jefferson commissioned Lewis and Clark s Mission of Discovery. The
expedition went on for 2 years with 3 goals in mind. When Lewis and Clark came
back from the expedition, Jefferson put Lewis as the governor of upper Louisiana.
Lewis also informed Jefferson of the expedition, and attempted to publish his book.

letter to former president Thomas Jefferson, it said ...We lost two of our horses. I

exhibit #4, it states that Neeley was supposed to be in court in Tenessee, and not

Advantages And Disadvantages Of Inverter
Abstract: Nowadays an Inverter is most commonly used device in almost every
field. An inverter gives ac square wave output. The objective of this paper is to
obtain a three phase ac voltage output of 3 phase inverter in Simulation. An
inverter receives dc supply as input and generates an ac output. The dc input of 3
phase inverter is obtained by constant dc source. The inverter circuit consists of six
IGBTs which are used for conversion of dc to ac supply. Simulation of 3 phase
inverter is done in MATLAB software.
Keywords: 3 phase inverter, constant dc source, MATLAB software, simulink, THD.
Introduction: An inverter is a DC to AC converter, used to convert a dc input
voltage into a symmetrical ac output voltage of desired magnitude and frequency.
The waveshape of output ac voltage of inverter should be sinusoidal. However,
practical inverters give output voltage that are non sinusoidal and contain harmonics.
The waveshapes of output voltage are square, quasi square or distorted sinusoidal.
Inverters used in low and medium power applications normally give square or quasi
square wave output. However, in high power applications sinusoidal waveform is
required, so inverters are carefully designed to give sinusoidal output with low
distortion. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

Model Of Atonement
2.The first model of atonement by the Church is the Christus Victor model, or the
Satan model. This model has three figures in it and they are God, Satan, and
humanity. There are two versions of this model. The ransom version and the cosmic
battle version. With the ransom version Satan has control over humanity, and all of
their souls. Godhas to offer a ransom in order to free humankinds souls. God makes
the deal of handing over Jesusas a ransom payment to free the souls, and Satan
proceeds to kill Jesus taking it as a victory. Jesus then is resurrected allowing the
return to God and the victory for Christ. The souls of humanity are freed, and Jesus is
still alive. It leaves the Satan with nothing, and God with everything making Him the

This is a model of non violence, shows that atonement does not rely on punishment,
and Jesus is not a weak passive character. The symbols of God, Jesus, Satan, or
humanity being taken in a worldlier view that can provide a direct connection. This
is a interpretation to the cosmic battle where the main characters are
metaphorically interpreted. Jesus was not this passive character, He was an
activist trying to make the Kingdom of God visible to humanity. An example is the
Roman Empire. The Roman Empire is Satan. They are a force that has a lot of
power and control, but do not recognize God as the true power of the universe.
They are fighting to take control of the world, and declare themselves kings and
gods. They are not being humble and thanking God, and putting their success in
Him. In this case the Church is the representation of God. The Roman Empire does
not recognize the Church as the true power, and try to act without the Church on
their side. Jesus is sent as the embodiment of the Kingdom of God. He is sent to
spread God s message, and show people the light. Jesus is still put to death in this
scenario, but it means something different. Jesus us spreading a message against the
Roman Empire, and talking about a power that is greater than them. They are afraid
of what Jesus is saying, and the following that is starting, and Jesus is put to death
because the Romans oppose the message. The

Determined to find a posse of cowboys who robbed a stagecoach, Earp set out in

Things eventually escalated and on October 26,1881, the Earp brothers and

Autism Persuasive Essay
Can autism be cured? This is an important question and as the parent of a child who
has been diagnosed with autism you may not know the answer to it. Some have
claimed to have found a Cure for autism but this disorder may not always be

autismcan be reduced to a large extent. Many autistic children have grown up to
become almost normal human beings and they have been able to lead perfectly
normal lives. But some signs and symptoms may still be there. The earlier a child is
diagnosed and starts the treatment the better the results are.

Their thinking and behaviors have not been fully developed.
€Wait and watch€ is the worst approach for autism. As a parent if you feel that
there are signs of autism in your child you should let your parental instincts take over.
Start searching the internet for signs and symptoms of autism and see if they match
with the behavioral pattern of your child.
As a parent you need to monitor the growth of your child keenly. The moment you
feel that something is not right you need to take appropriate action. This would
mean finding a good therapists and making an appointment as soon as possible. If
you have internet access searching online is a good place to start.
When you search online for terms such as €can autism be cured€ there may
not be many offerings. However there are people who claim a cure for autism is
possible with sometimes physical evidence. However, autism cannot always be
treated completely. Also sustained professional therapy and your support can help
your child gradually shed all those signs and symptoms of autism. The child may
gradually learn how to speak and those non verbal communication elements may also

Language Is A Key Aspect Of The Learning Process
Teaching relies on communication and in that respect, language is a key aspect of
the learning process. Therefore, it is critical that a teacher is very aware of the
language that is used and the hidden messages that also commonly underlie
language. As indicated by Greenberg (2014), emotion drives both children s
cognitive abilities and their language abilities. So in this sense, because language
is connected to social emotional learning, it is critical that teachers are aware of
this and treat their use of language in an appropriate manner. When we think of
language, the most common aspect is verbal language and the spoken word.
Clearly, speech can also carry many other messages depending on the user s tone,
emphasis, accent and pace. Therefore, teacher s must be careful to ensure that how
they speak to students is appropriate and cannot be interpreted as mocking,
sarcastic or any other way disrespectful. This is much more likely to occur in cross
cultural situations and a revelation occurred for me after some time teaching in
China and dealing with the continual incorrect pronoun usage when referring to
boys or girls as he and she. When I was told that in Mandarin, there is no distinction
made between he, she and it, I realized why my students were having difficulties and
made sure to be more aware of my reaction to this common error. In general, as a
science and mathematics teacher, I also incorporate into my teaching a technical
language specific to these
Should Speed Limits Be Allowed
I feel that the regulation of speed limits is acceptable. It s safe and responsible when
driving on certain roads. Having limitations on the speed limits reduces deaths and
injuries from car crashes. Additionally, having reduced speed limits near parks and
schools, protects the community and the children living there. People should feel a
sense of obligation to follow the speed limits when they drive.
First, I feel when driving with speed limitations make it safer and responsible for
drivers. Without these limitations, it can put people at risk of car crashes. Car crashes
occur every day, so imagine if there were no speed limits at all how many crashes
would occur. No one will know how fast or how slow to go for the person ahead or

Essay On Managing The Building Envelope
Innovations in technology and field data services are redefining how service
providers and building owners efficiently manage roofing and wall façades. With
specialized hardware, software and services, field data collection options are
expanding. Combined with evolving expectations for professionals, buildingowners
need to evaluate more options to consider the best strategy for managing the building
envelope (B Ev).
Historical Perspective

Field Observation Data Standards
The endorsement of roofing asset management programs and façade construction
observation practices by a collective of public and private companies has built a
substantial knowledge base of best practices and standards for B Ev observations. A
challenge for firms today is which observation processes to adopt for consistent
references for materials, systems, and recommended repairs. Service provider firms
that can deliver reliable as built data and site construction observations are better
positioned to produce more consistent deliverables and benefit from field data
automation.
Adding to the challenges of data consistency, service firms frequently use multiple
field observers or deploy multiple project teams working on remote sites. Adding
technology does not always improve the efficiency or quality of the deliverable. The
result may be faster collection of inconsistent data or some inspectors collecting data
faster in the field only to find the office administrative costs to edit records offset the
benefit. One strategy that helps is defining the observation data and procedures prior
to starting. By preparing observation data standards, descriptions, and policies, field
observers can work within reliable guidelines to provide the anticipated detail and that
improves efficiency and produces consistency the client anticipates.
For instance, before the project starts, identify the active data fields that will be used

National Peace and Security
Security is everywhere. It is needed for virtually everything that is accessed today.
From starting your car, to logging onto Facebook, to clocking in at work, security is
always present. One of the most noticeable forms of security is the police and the
Army. They are the security for the country, both for internal and external threats.
Police are more internal security, dealing with crimes caused by the general
population. Army deals with outside threats, by addressing situations that are
overseas that can cause harm to those within the States. To protect from these
threats, the security appears to look intimidating, due to powerful weapons and
armor placed upon the person. However, when this happens, a side effect occurs,
where the civilians may become scared of the force, and begin to distrust the
security, and also began to fear corruption. To be able to stop this side effect from
happening, the security sector reformation must find the corrupt who cause the
distrust and fear to occur, and end it. The way to best reform the security sector
within societies within transition is by finding and removing the corrupt, and by
doing that, you will raise faith in the security sector by the people. High

Rawls Social Inequality
Furthermore, the second law of the John Rawls Theory of Justice states that social
and economic inequalities are to be arranged so that they are both (a) reasonably
expected to be to everyone s advantage, and (b) attached to positions and offices
open to all (60). No doubt, John Rawls second principle of justiceestablishes social
equality in the society and opens the door of opportunities to every single
individual, who wants to rise from his/her present miserable situation. But this law,
disrupts the socioeconomic balance in the society. In this case everybody wants to
be in higher positions to be reputed in the society and no one wants to be a poor or
miserable. Rawl is suggesting an equal distribution of wealthamongst the people to
relish the freedom and equality. It disturbs the monopoly and make an imbalance in
the economic growth of the country. For example; Andrew Gibson, in his political
research finds that .... Inequality of income and wealth is a driver of growth. Income

Literary Analysis on Hands by Sherwood Anderson The short story Hands by
Sherwood Anderson is one of the twenty two stories in the book Winesburg, Ohio.
This story specifically focuses on the psychological trauma of a teacher after being
falsely accused of molesting his male students. This alone brings up the topics of
homosexuality and sex, which was considered scandalous at the time it was published
in 1919.Although this is true, it did not stop the public from finding this piece of
literature as fascinating. In Hands, Anderson s form of symbolism, narration, and
themes are what make this piece modern and unique. Anderson s use of symbolism to

Although he was confused about what happened, he was sure of one thing and that
was that the hands must be to blame (252). Wing perceives his hands as a symbol
of his perceived guilt, or a manifestation of his fears. They symbolize critical turning
points in his life, good and bad. He makes them the core of his actions and who is,
allowing them to take control of his life. By personifying Wing s hands, Anderson
makes the consequences of their actions the focus point of the story.
An important aspect as to why this story was so well written was because of
Anderson s choice of narration. The point of view that Anderson uses in Hands can
be identified as third person limited. Third person limited is a method of storytelling
in which the narrator knows only the thoughts and feelings of a single character,
while other characters are only presented externally. Although it is told in third
person, at one point the narrator is speaking directly to the reader, just like its done
in the tradition of oral story telling, this brings the reader into the creation of the
story. Twice in the story the narrator says that both the teller of the story and the
listener, in this case, the reader, have to become poets, Let us look briefly into the
story of hands. Perhaps our talking of them will arouse the poet who will tell the
hidden wonder... (251). In the beginning of the story the narrator

Batman: The Killing Joke is an influential one shot superhero comic book written
by Alan Moore and drawn by Brian Bolland, published by DC Comics in 1988. It
has in its original form continuously been held in print since then. It has also been
reprinted as part of the DC Universe: The Stories of Alan Moore trade paperback.
In 2008 it was reprinted in a deluxe hardcover edition. This Deluxe Edition features
new coloring by Brian Bolland, meant to illustrate his original intentions for the book,
with more somber, realistic, and subdued colors than the intensely colored original.
The plot revolves around a largely psychological battle between Batman and his
longtime foe the Joker, who has escaped from Arkham. Batman paid a visit to
Arkham Asylum, and specifically to the Joker s cell. He then tells the Clown
Prince of Crime that he s been thinking of their battles, more specifically how they

indentured servitude or plain enslavement, its impact was enormous on the daily
lives of the people subjected to it then and still continues to affect how we live today.
Between the two, however, indentured servitude seems to be the lesser evil.

There was also the possibility of being given material items such as clothing, shoes,

them to start a new life.
On the other hand, slavery in Colonial America in 18th century grew for three
reasons: 1) high European demands for tobacco, sugar and rice laborer, 2)
difficulty enslaving natives because they are pretty familiar with the land and
managed to escape becoming a slave and 3) lack of indentured servants because
most of the plantation owners were indentured servants before. Slaves were
captured in native Africa, unjustly dragged, by the cruel hand of power from their
dearest friends or families (ZINN, 57) and they were shipped to colonies and sold
into slavery. They were considered as Owned and as property for life with no

on the Petition on the Great number of Negroes (ZINN, 57) the life of slavery
deprived of every social privilege is far worse than Non Existence. Childbearing

There are similarities between slaves and indentured servants. They were both

According to Cooper and Schindler (2014), qualitative research includes an array of
interpretive techniques which seek to describe, decode, translate, and otherwise come
to terms with the meaning, not the frequency, of certain more or less naturally
occurring phenomena in the social world. Tracy (2010) describes eight criteria for the
research worthy topic, rich rigor, sincerity, credibility, resonance, significant
contribution, ethics, and meaningful coherence. The author describes each of the
criteria for qualitative research in the journal article as follows: a worthy topic is
relevant, timely, significant, and interesting; rich vigor uses sufficient theoretical
constructs, data and time in the field, samples, and data collection and analysis
processes; sincerity is characterized by self reflexivity about subject values and
transparency about the methods and challenges; credibility is marked by thick
description, concrete detail, explication of knowledge, and showing rather than
telling; resonance of the research tends to influence readers; significant contribution
of the research provides theoretical, practical data that is useful; the ethical criteria for
research considers specific situational and culturally ethics; and meaningful coherence
Pros And Cons Of A Movie Watching The Movie Rated R
Have you ever watched a movie that was rated R ? I believe that ratings on movies
and shows should not exist because a movie could be rated R but the content in the
movie is not bad at all, all kids will act differently to what they watch but if there
has to be ratings I think I have a better rating system for all kids and parents to help.
When you watched the movie you either ignored the rating or your parents let you
watchit on your own at home. If they let you watch it, because they already
watched it themselves, then they are on the right track. I m here to tell you why I
think parents should be the ones to tell what their kid watches by actually
watching the movie first so that ratings will not exist at all! When you watch an R
rated movie what s usually in the movie? It s either sexual content, nudity, violence
and/or language. When parents see an R rating they think that it has sexual
content, nudity, violence and language so then they don t let their kid watch it.
Sometimes it s just rated like this because it swears a couple times. I also doubt
that a grade 7 has never heard the F word before from their parents or a school
friend. It really should not be rated R for that. Another reason for parents to watch
the movie first instead of just looking at the rating is because the movie could be
rated 13+ but then have other bad things happen in the movie that they are not
supposed to watch. If the parents had not just read the rating and
The Consequences Of The Printing Press
Consequences of the Printing Press The printing press was first created to mass
produce copies of books for the public to read and become literate but was later
used for greater things. The printing press was first created in 1450 by Johannes
Gutenberg (Thompson 1). The intention of the press was to create copies of books
faster than scribes could to produce them. The press used intricate letters made out of
metal which were then coated with ink and pressed onto the paper (Printing press
DBQ A). This revolutionized how fast books could be made, scribes took months
or years to write a books, and the press which could print books in only a few
weeks. The creation of the printing press revolutionized the world in ways such as:
the spread of knowledge about medicine and science, its effect on the Roman Catholic
Church, and how it affected the discoveries and ideas about the maps of the new
world. Due to the printing press already being know in the 16th century it was
commonly used around Europe. A man named Andreas Vesalius was an anatomist
in the 16th century, and he was well known for his new ideas of the anatomy in the
human body (Printing Press DBQ N). Many of his books were reprinted by the
press and became available to the public. His most infamous books was De Humani
Corporis Fabrica (On the fabric of the human body), which was a set of books about
the human anatomy and was published in 1543 (Boorstin 1). Andreas also wrote the

The Movie Moonlight By Barry Jenkins
Imagine if you go outside your front door and you look left. There are two people
dealing cocaine. You look right and there is someone being robbed with a gun. The
movie Moonlight tells a story about a kid named Chiron who was different from
everyone else, because he is different he got picked on and got taken advantage by
everyone else including his mother, Paula. When Chiron had an opportunity to
start all over he pretended to be someone he wasn t so he could survive and be
respected by others. The film shows Chiron in the parts of his life, when he was a
kid the others called him Little, throughout his teenage years he was called Chiron,
and as an adult he was Black. The movie took place in Miami, Florida in the hood

In the scene where Chiron is driving around in his car with a man it is clearly
visible that Chiron has changed. He is wearing baggy shorts with a tank top
showing off his muscles and has a gold grill. He passes some hood members and
he pulls out a pistol for protection. This proves if Chiron didn t adapt and become
tough then he would ve still been taken advantage of and probably killed. Another
very important scene within the movie is when he meets his mother when he is
older. His mother emphasizes I messed up. I fucked it all the way up. I know that.
But yo heart ain t gotta be black like mine baby. This shows that Chiron s mother
knows she messed up and adapted to the way of life within their city and she is
noticing that he is changing as well. This relates to society because in all different
places around the world especially in dangerous areas, if the people who live within
those areas adapt to the lifestyle than they could be in huge danger. Violencehas a
major existence in these areas which is a big cause of people needing to adapt, In

The American Colonial Period
The American colonial period refers to the years 1600 1776, in which Great Britain
sent colonists to live on the east coast of North America. During this period the
American people went from dutiful British citizens to rebels who rose up against
their mother country to gain their independence. This period was formative in both
our legislation and literature, setting a precedent and groundwork for their
contemporaries and descendants. In my opinion the core of colonial American
literature can be summed up in three themes: Morality, enlightenment, and
transcendentalism. The founding fathers had a vested interest in moral conditions
and standards. Colonial America started with many religious castaways, including
Puritans and Quakers, notoriously conservative and strict in their ideologies. These
were the seeds that were sowed when these groups were isolated and began to self
govern. With the political upheaval, philosophers were... Show more content on

The invention of the printing press and the electric light let ideas spread more rapidly
and lifestyles change to accommodate the new knowledge. Rational thought and the
scientific method from Francis Bacon brought common sense and exponential
advancement to the developing country. This paved the way for modern secular
thinking and scientific advancement, including disease control, contraception, and
ethical legal proceedings. These two values came together in a specific and politically
relevant way in the 1800 s. Transcendentalism was a literary movement often
associated with writers like Ralph Waldo Emerson and Henry David Thoreau and
most popular in the late 1820 s and 1830 s. Transcendentalists tout the merits of
individuality, connection with nature, and total freedom. More than just a literary
theme, transcendentalism is a worldview, an optimistic one. The core belief is that
human beings and nature are inherently good, and personal intuition is to be
The Sacrifice Of Iphigenia Essay
Greek mythology is an ancient collection of myths and tales that incorporate gods,
goddesses, and mythological creatures and heroes. Embedded within these
fictitious narratives are morals which teach a lesson. These teachings are
considered applicable in life and can be used on a daily basis. For example, the
story of Iphigenia is discerned as a heroic tale in which the selflessness of a young
girl is put to the test in order to pardon her father s wrongful actions. Iphigenia s
father, Agamemnon, had angered the goddess Artemis and in order to placate her, he
would have to sacrifice his own daughter. Without Iphigenia s willing sacrifice,
Artemis would make Agamemnon s troops unable to set sail to fight Troy and defend
their honor. In the painting, The Sacrifice of Iphigenia, Giovanni Battista Tiepolouses
the tragic sacrifice of Iphigenia to portray that selflessness is... Show more content on

The scene represented in the painting displays Iphigenia upon an altar with a
surrounding crowd. The people around her look somewhat shocked and
disappointed. Tiepolo incorporated the expressions upon their faces to show that
a great injustice is about to occur. This creates a mood in which subsumes shame
and sorrow. Iphigenia s father is seen covering his face at the very right of the
painting. Agamemnon is perceived as cowardly for betraying his daughter as well
as not even attempting to save her. Iphigenia is somewhat hurt by this as her
expression exhibits pain and fear. The scene in the painting took place right before
Iphigenia s sacrifice was about to transpire. The painting displays a visual image of
this scene and creates suspense and anticipation. People from around the palace all
joined to view Iphigenia s sacrifice, for they thought it was honorable and brave.

Reflection Paper On Figure Skating
The second my feet lifted off the soap caked floor, I felt different. The skin on my
neck was tingling, adrenaline was racing through my body, and my bones were
engaged in a newfound excitement. My mother was wrong. The bathroom floor is a
fun place to go figure skating on soap suds. My sister, Emily, and I began our skating
journey at Kent State University, where we had been enrolled in Learn To Skate
classes for as long as we could remember. Spinning circles faster than a horse around
the kitchen table in our socks was a common occurrence. We were perpetually
moving.
Thus, it should not have been a surprising event when one lazy Saturday morning,
Emily and I were sitting around playing dolls as we waited for our parents to wake
up. For a six and nine year with the energy of a small volcano, it was as boring as
sitting and watching paint dry. It is my Achilles heel to cause trouble when my mind
is not stimulated, so I ventured off down the hall into the bathroom to see if there
would be anything interesting to do there. My sister grabbed my hand and pulled me
into a somewhat tangled, clumsy dance that was supposed to represent the figure
skating we did at Kent. We couldn t have looked much better than the Cleveland
Browns playing football, but for us, we felt as if we would be going to the
Olympics in figure skating within the next few weeks. However, spinning around in
our socks eventually grew tiring, as well, so we looked for a way to make the

Being Smart, Black, Young And American
In my early 20s, before I was cast on 30 Rock and while I was still trying to find my
way as an actor, I attempted a very odd social experiment: I would often walk into
audition rooms using an English accent. I d introduce myself and engage in light
pre audition conversations with a standard upper class British dialect. I would then
launch into the scene with my regular speaking voice, and after the scene was over,
I d return to the British for my salutations. The truth of the matter was this: I did it
because I was frustrated. Being smart, black, young and American had become a
liability. People seemed to think I was some kind of walking oxymoron. I was often
asked to be more urban, and it never seemed like the right time or place to... Show

Don t get me wrong, a person who is being discriminated against doesn t have a
responsibility to educate or inform their discriminator (it is never the job of the
oppressed to stop their own oppression), but I suggest that we merely can t
disconnect from the event; for disconnection breeds further ignorance. When I was
told I talked white, my natural instinct was to get offended, think the racial divide
was hopeless, and then passive aggressively speak in a British accent. What I ve
come to understand, however, is that in these moments, revealing more about myself
is exactly what s needed. My response to being told I talk white has now become a
non confrontational, genuine question: How do you think black people are supposed
to talk? Because for me, every black person I ve ever known talks like I do. This is
either met with defensiveness or apologies or a genuine desire to understand the
bias but it is always met with some form of engagement. I try to treat it as an open
door to a further dialogue. Some people walk through that door, some people don t.
But through it all, I get to remain steadfastly myself. I don t see that response as
being more tolerant in the face of racial bias. It s not about taking the high road. I
see it as avoiding a diversion from the road I ve already chosen. It s about not getting
angry or frustrated in the presence of prejudice; but more about being open and

Equinox s Advertising Campaign
In the world of advertising, grabbing the attention of your audience is key to your
success. You may have created something that will benefit all of the society, but the
product will remain useless unless you create a good advertising campaign. That
being said, I think equinox found a strategy for doing just that. Equinox is a gym and
fitness center that contributes everything a traditional fitness club offers; so why
does this company stand out from the rest? Because of their advertisingcampaign.
Equinox hired photographer Steven Klein, who took a series of seven different
photo shoots, with the text, commit to something , written across each one of the
seven photos. I was really drawn to this ad because I also find it important for
people everywhere to commit themselves to something. The visual coherence of the
text is faded just enough, making the photo the center of attention, while still
allowing the words to grab your view. With a gym advertisement, you would expect
to see a woman running on a treadmill, a guy lifting weights, or a really fit group of
people throughout the gym. However, Equinox resolved to focus on their member s
lifestyle, as opposed to the gym and all of the amenities in it. Steven is known in...

Group Dynamics In The United States Air Force
The United States Air Force is arguably the most advanced military fighting force in
the world and these advancements go far beyond technology. The nine years I served
in the Air Force afforded me the opportunity to work and train alongside other
branches of US and their allies fighting forces which permitted me to observe each
branch and their personnel management and now time to reflect on it. There are
several unique characteristics that separate the Air Forcefrom the rest, but the most
obvious trait is it always sends the most qualified personnel into combat first
regardless of rank. The focus is on training, details of function and ability, and
cohesiveness to the mission; a break from the classical Theory X concept of military
personnel management. This is a stark difference from other US branches of service.

Once, there was a woman who claimed that her identity is like the spirit of Caesar.
She was raped when she was nineteen, and public condemned her of losing her
virtue, even though virtue is not a woman s consumable good that can be achieved

poem of MartГn Espada, My Native Costume. In the poem, the teacher asks the
writer to wear traditional costume for the students even though the writer defines
himself as a lawyer. She is full of prejudice that Puerto Rican people will always
wear traditional clothes, but she rather thinks that she is doing a good job for her
students while saying the children want to see a native costume (Espada). Probably

Judith Slaying Holofernes is one of her masterpieces that has been acknowledged as a
proper piece to understand the main characteristics of her painting style. Carol
Strickland, an American art historian, explains that this painting shows how
Gentileschi depicted her subject into the style of Caravaggio, who was her father s
teacher and famous for dramatic lightning (Strickland, 47). Based on these facts,
some critics conjecture that Gentileschi may just have borrowed the dramatic story
from the Book of Judith to express her technique that resembled that of Caravaggio.
They argue that it is unreasonable and too subjective to relate Judith Slaying
Holofernes with the identity of Gentileschi. Identity of Gentileschi, however, cannot
be separated with the story of Judith and the painting Judith Slaying Holofernes
because Gentileschi s identity severely resembles that of Judith. Their struggle,
success leaded by their capacity, and destruction of the gender stereotypes are main
common aspects that Judith and Gentileschi share. These qualities further prove how
Artemisia Gentileschi was an ideal feminist who asserted her freedom inside an unfair

Failure Of The Failure And Predicting The Mechanical...
Failure criteria s plays very important role in analysing the failure and predicting the
mechanical properties of composite materials. There are many failure criteria s
available which has aided in analysing, few such failure criteria s are maximum
stress, maximum strain, Classic laminate theory, Hashin s failure theory, Tsai Wu
failure criterion, and Tsai Hill failure criterion etc.
The research was conducted on failure ways and criteria for their manifestation in
composite beams and columns [37]. They found that the initiations of the different
failure modes are influenced by the material properties, type of loading, and
geometric dimensions. They conveyed that the loading type or condition governs the
state of stress all through the composite structure, which controls the locality and
mode of failure. The suitable failure criteria at any point of the structure accounts for
the biaxiality or triaxiality of the state of stress [38]. A four nodded plate element
based on a sophisticated higher order shear deformation theory can be established
[39] for the investigation of composite plates. This plate theory fulfils the
requirements of inter laminar shear stress continuity and stress free bottom and top
faces of the plate. Besides, the number of independent unknowns is the same as that
in the first order shear deformation concept.
Prediction of failure in composite materials can be done by implementing failure
theories [40 44]. The failure criteria s are not just for

Transmission, Treatment and Prevention of Salmonella
Abstract
Salmonella is a gram negative rod, which is known to infect humans, birds, and other
mammals by invading and irritating the intestines. It is more common in poultry and

cramps. The infectious disease can be found almost everywhere and anywhere,
including in water, animal feces, raw poultry, and raw seafood. Animals consume

The transmission of Salmonella is primarily oral. Food is the vehicle of spread.
(Rieman, Hans, and Frank L Bryan) Animals can consume salmonella from the soil or
contaminated processed feed. Domestic animals, such as chickens, cattle, pigs, dogs,
cats, and especially reptiles, are great carriers for salmonella. On the other hand,
humans usually get a Salmonella infection though the ingestion of food contaminated
with animal feces or infected animal products. Salmonella bacteria are mostly found
in food products such as eggs, meat products, poultry, unpasteurized dairy products,
and cheese. (Salmonella Infection) The bacteria can also be found in water and can
be spread if consumed. Salmonella present on raw meat and poultry could survive if
the product is not cooked to the safe minimum internal temperature, as measured with
a food thermometer (Salmonella Infection). Salmonella could also become present on
otherwise ready to eat foods such as salad through food to food contact or cross
contamination (when contaminated food comes into contact with clean food
therefore passing the bacteria and thus infecting said food). Another, rarer form of
salmonella, typhoidal salmonella, is carried only by humans and is usually
transmitted through direct contact with the fecal matter of an infected person. This
kind of salmonella infection can lead to

particularly towards the youth community, and the answer can be found in the media.

The dance known as breaking, which was influenced by earlier dances know as
locking and popping (these dances required a lot of body control, mainly in the arms,
legs, and torso) were established in L.A. The dances received national exposure on
the hit show Soul Train, and ultimately swept the rap subculture (George, 133).
The next big wave in the subculture behind rap music itself was DJing. The ability
to mix music on a machine and scratch records was a phenomenon in itself. Rap
music in the industry was nothing without a beat, and in order for the song to be a
hit, the beat must carry the lyrics. Many of the beats at the time were fast pounding
bah bum bah rhythms. DJing led to another culture in rap, which was beat boxing.
Beat boxing was when a person made their voice sound like the beat in the song.
Rhazzel, is not only famous for being a DJ, but also for beat boxing. Many times
during a concert, he would just stop the music and beat box the melody. As a result of
this influx of energy towards the rap subculture and its birth of many other cultures,

The Peat Fields Of Northwestern Europe
The peat fields of northwestern Europe are nothing particularly exciting on first
inspection. Appearing as empty field, though sometimes lined with strange brown
blocks stacked or piled. These blocks are pieces of peat carved from the ground used
as a traditional source of energy. However, these peat blocks are perhaps slightly less
interesting than the other commodity the peatbogs have to offer; incredibly well
preserved mummies or bogbodies. The peat bogs provide the perfect combination of
sphagnum moss and a lack of oxygen allow for the preservations of bodies from as
far back as 8000 BCE. Some are only skeletons, but many of the more famous bog
bodies are incredibly well preserved. Many bodies found are from the Iron Age and
provide valuable information on an era that lacks written records. These mummies
are significant as they offer a view into the lives of man thousands of years in the
past. They provide evidence in to previously misunderstood events and people.
They allow for a first person postmortem accounts of peoples lives, cultures and
deaths. Through new scientific methods bodies discovered centuries can be
reexamined and allowing archaeologist and anthropologist to fill in the gaps and tell
these peoples full stories. The oldest recorded discovery of a bog bodydates back to
1640. A body was discovered in Holstein, Germany. Though very little information is
known about this first discovery other bodies found through out the 18th have been

  • 2. Why Did Meriwether Lewis Die Essay 1 / 3 How did Meriwether Lewis Die? Meriwether Lewis was a confidant of Thomas Jefferson, who was the 3rd President of the United States. When Jefferson bought Louisiana from Bonaparte, the federal government thought that the land purchased was a worthless desert. To prove them wrong, Jefferson commissioned Lewis and Clark s Mission of Discovery. The expedition went on for 2 years with 3 goals in mind. When Lewis and Clark came back from the expedition, Jefferson put Lewis as the governor of upper Louisiana. Lewis also informed Jefferson of the expedition, and attempted to publish his book. Coming back into Louisiana as the governor, he dealt with financial issues. In D.C., it was rumored that he was embezzling money from Louisiana. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... That exhibit is called Neeley s Lie. James Neeley was an Indian agent who was a secretary to Lewis. When Lewis, Neeley, Pernier, and others were on their way to D.C. to clear up misunderstandings, a couple of horses ran off. According to Neeley s letter to former president Thomas Jefferson, it said ...We lost two of our horses. I remained behind to hunt them and the governor proceeded on, with a promise to wait for me at the first house that was inhabited by white people. But, according to exhibit #4, it states that Neeley was supposed to be in court in Tenessee, and not with Lewis. This implies that Neeley could be a part of the murder. This could also mean that Lewis murder could be a set up. And if Neely lied about this very important thing, what else could he be lying about? In the theories packet, it said According to Chandler, Lewis discovered certain secrets about General James Wilkinson, his predecessor as Governor of Upper Louisiana. If revealed, these blow the whistle, The only way to kill the scandal was to kill Lewis before he could talk. • 4. Advantages And Disadvantages Of Inverter Abstract: Nowadays an Inverter is most commonly used device in almost every field. An inverter gives ac square wave output. The objective of this paper is to obtain a three phase ac voltage output of 3 phase inverter in Simulation. An inverter receives dc supply as input and generates an ac output. The dc input of 3 phase inverter is obtained by constant dc source. The inverter circuit consists of six IGBTs which are used for conversion of dc to ac supply. Simulation of 3 phase inverter is done in MATLAB software. Keywords: 3 phase inverter, constant dc source, MATLAB software, simulink, THD. Introduction: An inverter is a DC to AC converter, used to convert a dc input voltage into a symmetrical ac output voltage of desired magnitude and frequency. The waveshape of output ac voltage of inverter should be sinusoidal. However, practical inverters give output voltage that are non sinusoidal and contain harmonics. The waveshapes of output voltage are square, quasi square or distorted sinusoidal. Inverters used in low and medium power applications normally give square or quasi square wave output. However, in high power applications sinusoidal waveform is required, so inverters are carefully designed to give sinusoidal output with low distortion. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... There are two versions of this model. The ransom version and the cosmic battle version. With the ransom version Satan has control over humanity, and all of their souls. Godhas to offer a ransom in order to free humankinds souls. God makes the deal of handing over Jesusas a ransom payment to free the souls, and Satan proceeds to kill Jesus taking it as a victory. Jesus then is resurrected allowing the return to God and the victory for Christ. The souls of humanity are freed, and Jesus is still alive. This is a interpretation to the cosmic battle where the main characters are metaphorically interpreted. Jesus was not this passive character, He was an activist trying to make the Kingdom of God visible to humanity. An example is the Roman Empire. The Roman Empire is Satan. They are a force that has a lot of power and control, but do not recognize God as the true power of the universe. They are fighting to take control of the world, and declare themselves kings and gods. They are not being humble and thanking God, and putting their success in Him. In this case the Church is the representation of God. The Roman Empire does not recognize the Church as the true power, and try to act without the Church on their side. Jesus is sent as the embodiment of the Kingdom of God. He is sent to spread God s message, and show people the light. Jesus is still put to death in this scenario, but it means something different. • 11. Language Is A Key Aspect Of The Learning Process Teaching relies on communication and in that respect, language is a key aspect of the learning process. Therefore, it is critical that a teacher is very aware of the language that is used and the hidden messages that also commonly underlie language. As indicated by Greenberg (2014), emotion drives both children s cognitive abilities and their language abilities. So in this sense, because language is connected to social emotional learning, it is critical that teachers are aware of this and treat their use of language in an appropriate manner. When we think of language, the most common aspect is verbal language and the spoken word. Clearly, speech can also carry many other messages depending on the user s tone, emphasis, accent and pace. Therefore, teacher s must be careful to ensure that how they speak to students is appropriate and cannot be interpreted as mocking, sarcastic or any other way disrespectful. This is much more likely to occur in cross cultural situations and a revelation occurred for me after some time teaching in China and dealing with the continual incorrect pronoun usage when referring to boys or girls as he and she. When I was told that in Mandarin, there is no distinction made between he, she and it, I realized why my students were having difficulties and made sure to be more aware of my reaction to this common error. Service provider firms that can deliver reliable as built data and site construction observations are better positioned to produce more consistent deliverables and benefit from field data automation. Adding to the challenges of data consistency, service firms frequently use multiple field observers or deploy multiple project teams working on remote sites. Adding technology does not always improve the efficiency or quality of the deliverable. The result may be faster collection of inconsistent data or some inspectors collecting data faster in the field only to find the office administrative costs to edit records offset the benefit. One strategy that helps is defining the observation data and procedures prior to starting. By preparing observation data standards, descriptions, and policies, field observers can work within reliable guidelines to provide the anticipated detail and that improves efficiency and produces consistency the client anticipates. From starting your car, to logging onto Facebook, to clocking in at work, security is always present. One of the most noticeable forms of security is the police and the Army. They are the security for the country, both for internal and external threats. Police are more internal security, dealing with crimes caused by the general population. Army deals with outside threats, by addressing situations that are overseas that can cause harm to those within the States. To protect from these threats, the security appears to look intimidating, due to powerful weapons and armor placed upon the person. However, when this happens, a side effect occurs, where the civilians may become scared of the force, and begin to distrust the security, and also began to fear corruption. To be able to stop this side effect from happening, the security sector reformation must find the corrupt who cause the distrust and fear to occur, and end it. The way to best reform the security sector within societies within transition is by finding and removing the corrupt, and by doing that, you will raise faith in the security sector by the people. He makes them the core of his actions and who is, allowing them to take control of his life. By personifying Wing s hands, Anderson makes the consequences of their actions the focus point of the story. An important aspect as to why this story was so well written was because of Anderson s choice of narration. The point of view that Anderson uses in Hands can be identified as third person limited. Third person limited is a method of storytelling in which the narrator knows only the thoughts and feelings of a single character, while other characters are only presented externally. Although it is told in third person, at one point the narrator is speaking directly to the reader, just like its done in the tradition of oral story telling, this brings the reader into the creation of the story. Twice in the story the narrator says that both the teller of the story and the listener, in this case, the reader, have to become poets, Let us look briefly into the story of hands. When you watched the movie you either ignored the rating or your parents let you watchit on your own at home. If they let you watch it, because they already watched it themselves, then they are on the right track. I m here to tell you why I think parents should be the ones to tell what their kid watches by actually watching the movie first so that ratings will not exist at all! When you watch an R rated movie what s usually in the movie? It s either sexual content, nudity, violence and/or language. It really should not be rated R for that. The Consequences Of The Printing Press Consequences of the Printing Press The printing press was first created to mass produce copies of books for the public to read and become literate but was later used for greater things. The printing press was first created in 1450 by Johannes Gutenberg (Thompson 1). The intention of the press was to create copies of books faster than scribes could to produce them. The press used intricate letters made out of metal which were then coated with ink and pressed onto the paper (Printing press DBQ A). This revolutionized how fast books could be made, scribes took months or years to write a books, and the press which could print books in only a few weeks. The creation of the printing press revolutionized the world in ways such as: the spread of knowledge about medicine and science, its effect on the Roman Catholic Church, and how it affected the discoveries and ideas about the maps of the new world. Transcendentalists tout the merits of individuality, connection with nature, and total freedom. More than just a literary theme, transcendentalism is a worldview, an optimistic one. The core belief is that human beings and nature are inherently good, and personal intuition is to be
  • 27. The Sacrifice Of Iphigenia Essay Greek mythology is an ancient collection of myths and tales that incorporate gods, goddesses, and mythological creatures and heroes. Embedded within these fictitious narratives are morals which teach a lesson. These teachings are considered applicable in life and can be used on a daily basis. For example, the story of Iphigenia is discerned as a heroic tale in which the selflessness of a young girl is put to the test in order to pardon her father s wrongful actions. Iphigenia s father, Agamemnon, had angered the goddess Artemis and in order to placate her, he would have to sacrifice his own daughter. Without Iphigenia s willing sacrifice, Artemis would make Agamemnon s troops unable to set sail to fight Troy and defend their honor. Tiepolo incorporated the expressions upon their faces to show that a great injustice is about to occur. This creates a mood in which subsumes shame and sorrow. Iphigenia s father is seen covering his face at the very right of the painting. Agamemnon is perceived as cowardly for betraying his daughter as well as not even attempting to save her. Iphigenia is somewhat hurt by this as her expression exhibits pain and fear. The scene in the painting took place right before Iphigenia s sacrifice was about to transpire. The painting displays a visual image of this scene and creates suspense and anticipation. People from around the palace all joined to view Iphigenia s sacrifice, for they thought it was honorable and brave. Although her death was heartbreaking, it was also seen as

  • 32. Reflection Paper On Figure Skating The second my feet lifted off the soap caked floor, I felt different. The skin on my neck was tingling, adrenaline was racing through my body, and my bones were engaged in a newfound excitement. My mother was wrong. The bathroom floor is a fun place to go figure skating on soap suds. My sister, Emily, and I began our skating journey at Kent State University, where we had been enrolled in Learn To Skate classes for as long as we could remember. Spinning circles faster than a horse around the kitchen table in our socks was a common occurrence. We were perpetually moving. Thus, it should not have been a surprising event when one lazy Saturday morning, Emily and I were sitting around playing dolls as we waited for our parents to wake up. For a six and nine year with the energy of a small volcano, it was as boring as sitting and watching paint dry. It is my Achilles heel to cause trouble when my mind is not stimulated, so I ventured off down the hall into the bathroom to see if there would be anything interesting to do there. My sister grabbed my hand and pulled me into a somewhat tangled, clumsy dance that was supposed to represent the figure skating we did at Kent. We couldn t have looked much better than the Cleveland Browns playing football, but for us, we felt as if we would be going to the Olympics in figure skating within the next few weeks. However, spinning around in our socks eventually grew tiring, as well, so we looked for a way to make the bathroom floor truly

Being Smart, Black, Young And American In my early 20s, before I was cast on 30 Rock and while I was still trying to find my way as an actor, I attempted a very odd social experiment: I would often walk into audition rooms using an English accent. I d introduce myself and engage in light pre audition conversations with a standard upper class British dialect. I would then launch into the scene with my regular speaking voice, and after the scene was over, I d return to the British for my salutations. The truth of the matter was this: I did it because I was frustrated. Being smart, black, young and American had become a liability. People seemed to think I was some kind of walking oxymoron. When I was told I talked white, my natural instinct was to get offended, think the racial divide was hopeless, and then passive aggressively speak in a British accent. What I ve come to understand, however, is that in these moments, revealing more about myself is exactly what s needed. My response to being told I talk white has now become a non confrontational, genuine question: How do you think black people are supposed to talk? Because for me, every black person I ve ever known talks like I do. This is either met with defensiveness or apologies or a genuine desire to understand the bias but it is always met with some form of engagement. I try to treat it as an open door to a further dialogue. Some people walk through that door, some people don t. But through it all, I get to remain steadfastly myself. I don t see that response as being more tolerant in the face of racial bias. It s not about taking the high road. I see it as avoiding a diversion from the road I ve already chosen. You may have created something that will benefit all of the society, but the product will remain useless unless you create a good advertising campaign. I was really drawn to this ad because I also find it important for people everywhere to commit themselves to something. The visual coherence of the text is faded just enough, making the photo the center of attention, while still allowing the words to grab your view. The nine years I served in the Air Force afforded me the opportunity to work and train alongside other branches of US and their allies fighting forces which permitted me to observe each branch and their personnel management and now time to reflect on it. There are several unique characteristics that separate the Air Forcefrom the rest, but the most obvious trait is it always sends the most qualified personnel into combat first regardless of rank. The focus is on training, details of function and ability, and cohesiveness to the mission; a break from the classical Theory X concept of military personnel management. Judith Slaying Holofernes is one of her masterpieces that has been acknowledged as a proper piece to understand the main characteristics of her painting style. Carol Strickland, an American art historian, explains that this painting shows how Gentileschi depicted her subject into the style of Caravaggio, who was her father s teacher and famous for dramatic lightning (Strickland, 47). Based on these facts, some critics conjecture that Gentileschi may just have borrowed the dramatic story from the Book of Judith to express her technique that resembled that of Caravaggio. They argue that it is unreasonable and too subjective to relate Judith Slaying Holofernes with the identity of Gentileschi. Identity of Gentileschi, however, cannot be separated with the story of Judith and the painting Judith Slaying Holofernes because Gentileschi s identity severely resembles that of Judith. Their struggle, success leaded by their capacity, and destruction of the gender stereotypes are main common aspects that Judith and Gentileschi share. There are many failure criteria s available which has aided in analysing, few such failure criteria s are maximum stress, maximum strain, Classic laminate theory, Hashin s failure theory, Tsai Wu failure criterion, and Tsai Hill failure criterion etc. The research was conducted on failure ways and criteria for their manifestation in composite beams and columns [37]. They found that the initiations of the different failure modes are influenced by the material properties, type of loading, and geometric dimensions. They conveyed that the loading type or condition governs the state of stress all through the composite structure, which controls the locality and mode of failure. The suitable failure criteria at any point of the structure accounts for the biaxiality or triaxiality of the state of stress [38]. A four nodded plate element based on a sophisticated higher order shear deformation theory can be established [39] for the investigation of composite plates. This plate theory fulfils the requirements of inter laminar shear stress continuity and stress free bottom and top faces of the plate. Besides, the number of independent unknowns is the same as that in the first order shear deformation concept. Prediction of failure in composite materials can be done by implementing failure theories [40 44]. The failure criteria s are not just for

The dances received national exposure on the hit show Soul Train, and ultimately swept the rap subculture (George, 133). The next big wave in the subculture behind rap music itself was DJing. The ability to mix music on a machine and scratch records was a phenomenon in itself. Rap music in the industry was nothing without a beat, and in order for the song to be a hit, the beat must carry the lyrics. Many of the beats at the time were fast pounding bah bum bah rhythms.
