Choice Essay Example
Writing an essay on the topic of "Choice Essay Example" can present a unique set of challenges.
The difficulty lies not only in addressing the broad theme of choice but also in crafting a
compelling example that resonates with the reader. One must navigate through the intricacies of
decision-making, personal preferences, and the consequences of chosen paths. The challenge
intensifies as the writer strives to strike a balance between providing a relatable narrative and
infusing the essay with depth and insight.
Choosing a suitable example demands careful consideration, as it should be both illustrative and
engaging. The writer must delve into personal experiences or hypothetical scenarios to vividly
portray the complexities of decision-making. Balancing the exploration of individual choices
with broader societal implications adds another layer of intricacy to the writing process.
Furthermore, weaving a cohesive narrative that seamlessly connects the introduction, body, and
conclusion requires skillful organization and a keen understanding of the chosen topic.
Moreover, articulating the significance of the chosen example within the broader context of the

The Problem Of Weight Watchers
Introduction and Problem Statement
Weight Watchers has faced a number of issues in the past several years, many of
which are highlighted in the case study for this assignment. The company was able
to reach a financial high point earlier this decade in 2011 when it recorded a record
breaking 1.8 billion in revenues. However, the company s finances have slowly
dwindled ever since then, culminating in losses for seven straight quarters and low
stock prices at the beginning of 2015. The core of the problems it was facing were
relatively straightforward. The weight loss industry was changing, and Weight
Watchers was having difficult changing along with it. Specifically, the company had
troubles modernizing its business model to account for the digital age as represented
by increasing online options for weight loss. This fact was compounded by the reality
that there was greater competition, including that from organizations whose primary
business was to capitalize on digital technology to attract customers. Technologies
such as mobile devices, mobile applications, cloud computing, and social media had
made considerable strides in the way that people were monitoring and attempting to
lose weight. Weight Watchers, however, had had only marginal success using these
technologies, and faced the undesirable situation in which its methods were becoming
rapidly outdated.
Financial Analysis: Vision/Mission
The vision of Weight Watchers has always been fairly basic in nature. The company
Elements Of Superman s Secret Identity
The key elements to superman s secret identity are very simple. He doesn t stay in
the spotlight for too long, and he takes extra measures to make sure no one follows
him home when he is superman. When he is Clark Kent, he wears glasses to give the
illusion that his face is different from that of supermans. Also, he hides his clothing
underneath his shirt to make sure no one finds his super hero clothing.
The secret identity in this story is a dangerous secret that no one must know. In the
beginning of the story it starts out as something that he cannot tell anyone and that he
hates and loves having this double life. In this point of the story the government and
news agencies were trying to track him down. They were making his life a living
Similarities Between Beauty And The Beast And Shrek
As children most of the fairy tales we were told about always involved a beautiful
princess, a prince charming and a happily ever after . Among those are Snow
White and Cinderella, who are both mistreated by their evil stepmothers, go
through difficulties but at the end they find happiness. Almost all these fairy tales
emphasize the beauty of the female and male protagonists. They also mostly end
in the princess falling in love with the prince, often after the first kiss. For many of
us in the real world, this would be the ideal way to fall in love with someone and
quite a dream come true. However, there s one fairy tale that gives a different
message on what true love is. In the story Beauty and the Beast and the movie Shrek,
Beauty and Shrek fall in love with people who are their complete opposites, not by
the way they look but the way they are. The ending to both stories bring surprises as
they both find out that they re not so different after all. The transformation of
Princess Fionainto an ogress and the Beast into a human is not necessary to show a
happy ending. In Beauty and the Beast, Beauty is noble and sweet. She is forced
to live with a beast in his castle. At first she s scared but as the day passes, she
begins to enjoy his company. She visits her father and one night, she dreams that
the Beast is dying. She runs back to the castle and pleads for him not to die. As she
hugs him, she agrees to marry him, something he had asked her long before but she
had refused. As she mutters these words and to her surprise, the Beast transforms
into a handsome prince. Shrek is a green ogre who enjoys solitude and keeping to
himself. He doesn t have any friends and lives in a swamp. After the ruler of Duloc,
Lord Farquaad, sends all the fairy tales to invade Shrek s swamp, he sets out on a
journey to find him and get everyone out of his home. He s accompanied by his
soon to become sidekick, Donkey, the only one to know the way to Duloc. Lord
Farquaad in order to become a king needs to marry a princess. He chooses Princess
Fiona, who s locked away in a tower guarded by a dragon. Lord Farquaad agrees to
give Shrek his swamp with the condition that he brings Princess Fiona to him. Once
again, Shrek and Donkey,
Neisseria Meningoccal Disease Paper
An acute disease which is referred to any potentially disease that is caused by the
type of bacteria called Neisseria meningitidis is named as meningococcal disease.
This is a life threatening infection which may end in death. (Nadel et al.,2006,
MacNiel et al., 2011) The first meningococcal disease was reported before 5
centuries. Meningococcal diseases are often severe and serious that present in
meningitis 50% of cases and 40% septicemia (Gabuttiet et al., 2015). Some infected
people may have one or both of these diseases. Both of them are occurring and
spreading rapidly. Neisseria meningitidis is hosted in humans because they are the
only reservoir. Rare forms of the disease including lung infection, joint infection and
infection of the... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Meningococcal disease is contagious and it is spread by person to person contact
via droples aerosol or secretions from the nasopharynx of colonized persons.
Meningococcal bacteria are very dangerous, they lives in the mucous membrane of
the nose and throat of humans. These bacteria are spread by long contact or by
exchanging the respiratory and other fluids from the nose or mouth of someone
who has the disease. (Gabutti et al., 2015, Tzeng el al., 2000) When someone is
staying with an infected person and he or she doesn t cover the mouth while
sneezing the other person will carry these bacteria. It is important to say that these
bacteria are not spread by casual contact or by simply breathing the air where a
person who is infected has been. People should not be scary because they will not
take the bacteria by sharing drinks, food or cigarettes because are other factors
which causes these diseases.(Gonzaler et al., 2004) Close contact includes: kissing,
sneezing or coughing on someone, sexual contacts, living in crowed space, such as
dormitories. It can happen, that several days before someone with meningococcal
disease feels sick, spreads bacteria to other. This can happen until the first 24 hours of

Black Bodice Overhead And The Moon
Stars twinkled in the black bodice overhead and the moon was nowhere in sight,
yet, no one questioned why. All lay dead in the sky while below on land, badlam
occurred. It was the 18th Era on Gaia, in the small mountain town of Nibelheim.
Squall Leonhart was clutching Cloud s hand, running towards Mt. Nibel, away from
the denizens of his hometown. His feet could barely keep up with the speed of the
blonde, who was sprinting at an inhuman pace. The ascent of the mountain was too
much to handle for the mere men chasing them, while Cloud had swept Squall up
and ran with the brunette in tow. Squall knew everything was backwards and wrong.

He released his lover from his chains and together, they made a break for the Mako
caves. Squall was a hunter, not hunted. Everything was backwards and wrong.
They reached the caves, Cloud slinging Squall in, away from the entrance. Cloud
used his strength to move heavy boulders to block the entrance, preventing anyone
from coming in. He turned back to Squall, non existent heart thawing at the sight
of his scared, anxious love. Cloud walked over, grabbing the man s face in his
gloved hands and kissing him with all the passion he had. Are you okay, my love?
Cloud asked, bringing Squall in close to him. I am now, he whispered back, laying
a kiss on Cloud s chest. What will we do? I can t go back, and when they get up
here, there s no stopping them at all. I can t ask for protection from us. While it s
not forbidden for a demon to love a human, it s looked down upon. I only know of
one hope for us, but it s not pleasant. Anything, Cloud. Anything for you. I d take
any pain over and over, if it meant I can stay with you. We ll have to go to my
home, Squall. We ll have to go to the Underworld. What you call, Hell. Hell is
better than Nibelheim, Squall murmured, hugging Cloud tighter and closing his
eyes. How do we get there? My dear, open your eyes, we re already there. Confused,
Squall opened his eyes expecting to still be in the cave, but instead saw he was inside
of a dimly lit castle.
The Relationship Between Native Canadians And White
Middle...
Since the beginning of mankind, nature has played an important role in the growth
and development of the given species. More so, it played an even bigger role when
talking about the relation between the two Canadian groups, natives and white men.
Their cultural interaction shifts across the spatial context where people lived, worked
and played. Since the late 19th century, the interaction between native Canadians and
white middle class population evolved around social and physical environments
surrounding natural spaces, more specifically, parks. In other words, their interaction
took place in natural, open spaces. Despite the different historical settings, the
communication between the two groups was an active component of the identities
and experiences of the Canadian citizen. In the 19th 20th century, interaction among
these two groups was based on cultural identity, where white Canadians wanted to
know more about the Indians who occupied the land and compare it to their own.
The secondary readings by Raibmon, Parnaby, and Wall, will let us analyze the
different historical settings of Home, Work, and Play respectively while analyzing
how nature played a key role. In the first historical space, home, the interaction
between these two groups initiated because of the growing curiosity of middle class
Canadians towards Aboriginal s homes and way of living. This curiosity was driven
by the public s interest in authentic Indian lives which were developed in nature.
Economic Motives Of British Imperialism
British Imperialism started in India in the year 1600 with the goal of draining wealth
from India through the establishment of the East India Company and lasted until
1947, when India gained its independence from Britain. While under British rule,
India was shaped socially, politically, and economically. In regards to the economic
aspect of India, some historians contest that India s wealth was augmented by British
Imperialism while others have argued that British Imperialism actually drained the
wealth from India. One historian that takes on this debate is Tirthankar Roy, who
wrote the book Traditional Industry in the Economy of Colonial India and argues that
the changes that occurred to India s industries during British Imperialism had a...

G. Hopkins s thesis is that British Imperialism was mainly motivated by economic
motives that developed from the capitalist society of Britain and that Imperialism left
lasting impressions on the nations it impacted. Cain and Hopkins argue that it was an
economic motivation that drove British Imperialism. This is shown when they state,
[Capitalism s] main dynamic was the drive to create an international trading system
centered on London and mediated by sterling. This quote conveys that British
Imperialism was motivated by Capitalism in order to create an international trading
system that the British could profit off of. Cain and Hopkins provide additional
support to their argument by discussing the economic depravity in Britain when
Britain s agriculture declined and the gross value of arable output fell from ВЈ104
million to ВЈ62 million. This decline in agriculture conveys the need for economic
growth in Britain that was attained through Imperialism.
Furthermore, Cain and Hopkins argue that this economic motive stemmed from the
capitalist society of Britain, which is conveyed when they state, As the leading port,
London itself was already distinguished by the wealth and cosmopolitan character of
its merchant community, and was well placed to launch new ventures overseas. This
statement shows that London already had a capitalist structured society that set it on
a course for expansion and Imperialism. This is evident since the East India Company
originated from London and was Britain s main source of influence in
Comparing Descartes, Locke, And Hume
Kant described his solution to the problems of dogmatism, on the one hand, and
Hume s skepticism about causality, on the other, as a Copernican turn in philosophy.
It is not our minds that conform to the world, in the manner that Descartes, Locke,
and Hume would have it, but the other way around: it is the conceptual activity of
our minds on what is given to us in sensation that creates the world as it appears to us.
Kant pays a price for this move: since the world as it appears to us is necessarily a
product of what is intuited in sensation as structured by the activity of the
transcendental subject, he must give up the possibility of perceiving or conceiving
anything about the world as it is in itself, independently of our mental activities. Kant
has given up on metaphysics in order to explain the possibility of knowledge. In that
move we arrive at the famous distinction between phenomena, that which appears to
us as it must appear to us, and noumena, or the ... Show more content on

Following on the ground laid by Fichte and Schelling in the post Kantian elaboration
of the critical philosophy, Hegel holds that we do in fact have the noumena in thought
for Kant has the thing itself in mind when he conceives of it as that about which we
can know nothing!
What Hegel is saying, then, is that by positing the limit to thought, Kant has
inadvertently brought what is beyond thought back into thought. What is by
definition unthinkable is nevertheless being thought in the very process of making
the point. This has two central consequences for Hegel s project:
1. The identity of subject and object. Since the noumenal is revealed as another
manifestation of phenomena, what is unthinkable is also thinkable. Since what is
thinkable depends on the necessary conceptual activity of rational beings, the
consequence is that the noumenal world beyond thought is also dependent upon
thought. The Kantian subject is identical with its own
Understanding Key Ideas And Issues
Section 1 Understanding key ideas and issues After viewing this film I understood
the importance of preserving natural resources. In the film, Man of Steel, the idea
of preserving, against exploiting natural resources is dramatized. Clarke s birth
world Krypton was driven to the point of destruction due to the overuse of natural
resources. Kryptonians exploited all of the planets natural resources and the
planet couldn t function correctly and the world exploded from the inside. This
came after Clarke s birth father had warned the leaders of Krypton not to harvest
Krypton s core, To harvest the core would be suicide. It accelerates the process of
core explosion, depleting our energy reserves . We as humans, are exploiting close
to all of our natural resources without second thought. We chop down trees for
fires, buildings etc. and by doing so we are tampering with our fragile
environment, unbalancing the oxygen to carbon dioxide ratio and making our air
polluted. We are also overusing and exploiting fossil fuels. Fossil fuels consist of
oil, coal and gas. Fossil fuels are very important for humans. We use them every
day, of every week, of every year. Fossil fuels are used to fuel cars and airplanes,
power electricity plants, and heat our homes. They are also used to make medicines,
cosmetics, plastics, synthetic fabrics, and lubricants. When you brushed your teeth
this morning, you used a product made from fossil fuels toothpaste. Look at your

Second World War Dbq Essay
In the days of the Second World War, the United States was thrusted into being the
primary provider of supplies whether it was food or steel. This presented many
challenges; how would the U.S. truly get out of the great depression? How would
the country amply provide a work force in a world where males dominated the labor
industry, the same males that would go off to fight the war? To answer these
questions, we must look at several sources such as Roosevelt s famous fireside chats,
how the U.S. population at home aided the war effort and the role of minorities.
To begin, the American homefront was riddled with ways citizens did their part. This
comprised several different procedures. Victory gardens were planted all around the

Rationing played a pivotal in U.S. success on the homefront.
The Homefront also had a distinct lack of a labor workforce as more and more
troops left to fight. This called upon women to fill in jobs they would otherwise
never do. Also, minorities were thrusted in positions which they had never been
before due to racial segregation, Franklin D. Roosevelt said it best in his fireside chat
on october 12,1942. In some communities, employers dislike to employ women. In
others they are reluctant to hire Negroes. In still others, older men are not
wanted. We can no longer afford to indulge such prejudices or practices. Roosevelt
had backed the need for no discrimination in the labor force with executive order
8802, this order was composed in 1941 and stated that there shall not be
discrimination in defense industries. The result was 8 million women stepping into
the labor force, and by 1944 over 5 million African Americans worked to fuel the
American war machine. Unfortunately post World War Two brought the firing of
many minorites who were the first to be fired when cut backs had to be made to
meet the non war economy of the U.S. The Fair Employment Practices Commision
which investigated racial discrimination in the workplace of World War Two America
disappeared directly after the war.
Unfortunately the homefront was not all roses
How Is Mark Twain Racist
When taking a look at Mark Twain s Huckleberry Finn, racism is a large theme that
seems to be reoccurring. What some may think to be racism in Twain s words, can
also be explained as, good story telling appropriate to the era the story takes place
in. Twain himself has been suggested as a racist based on the fact that he uses the
word niggerin his book. However, Twain was an avid abolitionist. For those who
claim that Twain was a racist must have only been looking out for themselves and
not those who are willing to learn about the past whether it be ugly or perfect.
Racism was and forever will be a dark part of the American past, and no one can
change that, no matter how many books one may alter.
In this book a number of dialects ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The main focus is to replace the 219 times the word nigger is used with slave. One
would doubt that Twain would input the N word into his book without having a
good reason to do so. At the time of writing this book, the Civil War was over and
the general thought was that slavery and racism was over. The thought then leads
to the fact that Twain wanted to make a point of letting readers know that, just
because you have abolished slavery does not mean that the racism and bigotry has
gone with it. The repel of slavery made no difference to the racism card, and he
wanted his Northern readers to know it. When the argument of replacing the word
nigger with slave one sees the issue with that. The issue being that nigger in that
time meant African American, not necessarily a slave. So looking at a high school
or college student in the future reading Huckleberry Finn for the first time and
reading is with the word slave the story loses its effect on the reader. It does not
give a sense of the time, it would only give a vibe that something is not right in the
story. When reading this story for the first time, one must have an open mind and
not pay attention to little things like racism in this book. The main plot is not, lets
raft down a river and see how racist we can be. As one reads the story flows, and part
of that flow is to allow discrepancy in racial slurs. It is okay to have the
My Wrongs By Shaka Senghor Analysis
Writing My Wrongs by Shaka Senghor is a story about his life before, during, and
after prison. Senghor highlights how his difficult childhood and abusive parents
led him to fend for himself, resorting to selling crack cocaine on the streets of
Detroit, Michigan in order to provide for himself at the young age of 14. Also how
this lifestyle led to him feeling more mature than his peers, engaging in sexual acts
with older women, and engaging with individuals that were toxic to a normal
development of a young teenager. As a result, he was shot at the age of 17 that led
him to carry a gun with him like most kids today carry their phones, he had it with
him everywhere. When he was 19, he murdered a rival drug dealer in his car and was
sentenced... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
However, the punishments the prison system has and some of the activities that
take place regularly are not progressive to the rehabilitation of prisoners. Senghor
was sentenced to 4 and a half consecutive years in solitary confinement following his
assault of a guard. Psychologically, 4 and a half years without human to human
interaction is enough to drive a person insane. The mental health of prisoners while
in solitary confinement is not a priority to the system. Without this social aspect,
prisoners are forced to ravish in their own thoughts. Senghor said that he developed a
fear of being alone and encountered truly psychotic people in the hole. This kind of
treatment challenged his humanity and the worst part was that he did not know when
he would be released (Senghor). Hearing these reactions from a man that spent
almost half a decade in the hole is testimony to how brutal this form of punishment is.
In addition, solitary confinement prevents face to face interactions with family.
Because of this treatment, the relationship he had with with fiance at the time,
Brenda, was ruined and the life of their child was changed because he could not
communicate with his father. Another aspect of prison that is backwards is the game
of basketball. Rather than serving as a release and a recreational activity, this game
served as a fight
Essay On Peer Pressure
Peers are equal in abilities, age, background and even social stature. Peer Pressure
is society pressuring a member of a peer group to undertake certain actions, adapt
values, and do what they believe will allow them to be accepted into such a group.
In the Bible, the Old Testament, the Gospels, and the New Testament provides
examples of Peer Pressure. The ability to either fall into or steer clear of peer
pressure is through the virtues of courage, temperance and prudence. We are followers
of Jesus Christ and we are not the same humans that once roamed the earth. We are
should be more confident in ourselves and our actions than relying on others to tell

Mark 15:15 states that Pilate was peer pressured into doing an act that he knew
was not just, Wishing to satisfy the crowd, Pilate released Barabbas for them, and
after having Jesus scourged, he handed Him over to be crucified. This Gospel
passage shows that our common sense can be easily altered by a crowd of people
wishing for a specific outcome. Pilate makes the ultimate decision and worries that
if the people do not get this outcome, they will riot and harm the one that made the
decision. This happens within our current society as well, regarding politics and
how the government feels pressured to do what the people want and if they do
not, they fear of rebelling occurring within their nation. Matthew 27:24 26 is alike
to Mark because he too uses Pilate and his actions as an example. Matthew writes,
When Pilate saw that he was accomplishing nothing, but rather that a riot was
starting, he took water and washed his hands in front of the crowd, saying, I am
innocent of this Man s blood; see to that yourselves. And all the people said, His
blood shall be on us and on our children! Then he released Barabbas for them; but
after having Jesus scourged, he handed Him over to be crucified. These verses
precede an important beginning. Yes, Pilate succumbs to the crowds and wishes to
please them, but the crowd would not have yelled Barabbas to be freed if it were not

Succinate Dehydonate Lab Report
Hypothesis: We hypothesize that reagent Malonate will inhibit Succinate
Dehydrogenase (SDH) activity. Background: Malonate, also known as propanedioate,
is a classic example of a competitive inhibitor. Malonate has a molecular structure that
is similar to succinate, so it has the ability to bind to the active site of succinate
dehydrogenase and inhibit enzyme activity. However, malonate is sufficiently
different from succinate that it cannot be dehydrogenated. [1] Malonate working as
an inhibitor to succinate oxidation is a popular occurrence. Succinate is oxidized to
fumarate during the Kreb cycle and the reagent s (malonate) inhibitory effect slows or
halts that important step from taking place.[2] A competitive inhibitor had a similar

Informative Essay On Halloween
Stores take advantage of this popular holiday, it all starts early in September, huge
displays, with aisle full of indoor and outdoor decorations, candy and, costumes,
just to name a few. According to the online Merriam Webster Free Dictionary
Halloween is the night of October 31 when children dress up as ghosts, witches,
monsters, etc., and go to houses to ask for candy . It is not unusual for adults to
join on the fun and dress up as well, for example many parents wear their costume
to go trick or treating with their children, and others just do it because is fun or
because they are attending a costume party. First of all, this now popular tradition of
Halloween didn t always evolve dressing up and going house to house to get candy.

Elements Of The Trickster In How Stories Came To Earth
Throughout all trickster tales, there are elements that are found in all of the
tricksters. These elements are what makes the protagonist the main trickster. In the
stories, How Stories Came to Earth , Coyote Steals Fire , and Master Cat or Puss
and Boots students were asked to identify seven elements. Some of these elements are
cleverness of a the trickster, helpfulness of a trickster, and gods, spirits, and the
supernatural. These elements can be used to identify the tricksters, and show the
ways tricksters trick others.
Each of the given stories have supernatural elements. Whether it is a god, spirit, or
just a supernatural, a trickster is guaranteed to come in contact with one of them. In
the story, How Stories Came to Earth, the reader learns about the sky god who
possesses all of the stories. The sky god is explained as powerful and having a loud
voice which shows supernatural characteristics and that he has power over Anansi, the
main character, in this passage. Furthermore, in the story, Coyote Steals Fire ,
readers learned about the antagonist, Thunder. In the beginning of the story it is said,
Thunder was a fearful being. This quote represents how Thunder had power over the
other animals and that is why no one chose to challenge him. Lastly, in the end of
the story Master Cat or Puss in Boots readers get to learn about the Ogre. When
Master cat, the trickster, comes in contact with the ogre because he wants his castle,
he knows that he can shape shift.
The Epidemiology of Tuberculosis
The purpose of this paper is to discuss tuberculosis (TB), provide a clinical
description, and discuss the determinants of health in relation to TB and the role and
tasks of the community health nurse in regards to the disease. Tuberculosis is
caused by Mycobacterium tuberculosis, a bacterium that usually affects the victim s
lungs and is spread through the air. TB spreads from one community or country to
another as people travel or through immigration to new areas. Today s modern world
of travel makes health and healthcare a global issue. Although TB rates are
decreasing in the United States, the disease is becoming more common in many parts
of the world. In addition, the prevalence of drug resistant TB is increasing worldwide.

The health of a population is often determined by the circumstances in which
people live, which are conditioned by social policies and economic forces that are
usually beyond an individual s control (CSDH, 2008). Nearly one third of the
world s population is infected with TB. It is a leading infectious cause of death
worldwide, causing more than 2 million deaths each year (CDC, 2011f). (Smith 195)
Controlling the spread of TB is globally important because transmission to others can
cause devastating consequences of transference to anyone the infected one is around
including healthcare workers. Treatment of TB can be lengthy and require
supervision of compliance. Some TB strains are drug resistant and very expensive to
treat. Exposure can occur in clinics where the sick are waiting for healthcare. Nurses
have been a part of controlling community disease but initially were responsible only
for prevention through cleanliness and fresh air. Hygiene education was and still is a
primary role for the nurse in controlling communicable diseases. The modern
community health nurse has responsibilities in primary prevention methods. Duties
include immunizations, prophylactic measures for risk reduction for persons who
have had exposure when a method is available for
The Vulnerabilities Of Passwords And Security Essay
Introduction
Passwords for access to personal phones, computers, online portals, and websites has
become very prevalent and the best practice for authentication. Additionally,
passwords authenticate mobile phones, computer networks and databases for many
software applications. However, ensuring that passwords are encrypted, and safe
have become one of the greatest challenges for most organizations. This paper will
review some of the vulnerabilities of the use of passwords and provide controls to
implementation to assist with the management and handling of passwords.
Ineffectiveness of Passwords
We are living in an information driven world today that requires us to protect what
and how we share this information. To access the guarded data or information we
want to protect requires either a password or a pin. A password is a string or group of
combined characters precise in length. Passwords and pins are suppositional, and
more consideration is seriously required. They are the primary defense against
intrusion. However, they can be easily captured and deciphered by cyber criminals.
The security in this area is challenging due to the ineffectiveness of the creation of
passwords and pins. Kirushnaamoni (2013) elicits that making logging in
straightforward and convenient for users and trying to prevent password cracking is
problematic. Cyber criminals will continue to persist and target the vulnerabilities in
this area. Therefore, personally, financial, health and

were the residential areas having many apartment complexes and there being a wide
range of restaurants in the area. Although the retail was not the amount I thought
there was going to be, even during the surveys we conducted 9 residents mentioned
that the retail amenities were poor. For some residents the Docklands region has
been created as a liveable and sustainable residential precinct that has all of the
amenities needed to survive. However, during our data collections, for some of the

In the Docklands precinct there is a lesser value of amenities to accommodate the
growing population. During our surveys, we found most of the residents were
happy with the service of public transport in the region, Southern Cross Station
which a easy 1km distance from the heart of Docklands and they are well served
with tram/bus routes. They were also happy with the accommodation that is in the
area. Yet the downfalls of Docklands are the essential amenities of retail, public
services and leisure activities. For Docklands to be a place where there is
sustainability, for it not fail as a new region there needs to be more of these
amenities. There is a need for more services such as Doctors and Specialists, these

Expostulation And Reply By William Wordsworth
The revolutionary decade of the 1790s produced literature that was not only

In this essay, I will discuss how the literature produced by the revolutionary decade
of the 1970 s was distinguished by new and radical ideas, and experimentation with
regard to genre and form, in relation to William Wordsworths Lyrical Ballads. The
poem which I will be drawing from in this essay is Expostulation and Reply , and the
Preface to Lyrical Ballads.

The poem is set in the Lake District of Wordsworth s youth, and embodies the ideals
of the Romantic Era; that nature and human intuition have a kind of knowledge not
found in books and formal education. When confronted as to why he spends his time
at the lake, musing and contemplating, Wordsworth replies with what was to become
a memorable moment in english literature; nature nurtures the mind in a unique way,
with it s own wisdom, one which cannot be found in the pages of scholarly books. To
stimulate his senses entirely, a man must just sit in the presence of nature. This was
an idea found in the works of many romantic poets, who were thought to have a
distrust in mankind, but found peace and knowledge in closeness with nature.
Romantic poetry allowed us to see their world directly and much of romantic poetry
invited the reader to identify the protagonists with the poets themselves. (Abrams)
The metre of this poem is in iambic tetrameter, which places emphasis on the power
of nature. For example, in the first line, the words old and stone are emphasised by
the metre, pointing towards the poets belief in the power and importance of nature.
Again, in the third stanza, the metre points towards moth and earth , furthering the
pointed use of nature as a genre. it has been common in critical writing since the
romantic period to equate the loosening of specifically metrical restrictions
Advantages And Disadvantages Of Philanthropy
The most common form of philanthropy in the CSR pyramid (Economic, Legal,
Ethical, and Philanthropic) is cause related marketing, where a charity donation is
tied to a commercial exchange. Next most common are donations of cash in which
donations are not tied to a sale of a product. These donations can also be matches of
fundraising for a cause. Another common form of philanthropy is community
involvement, usually coupled with employee volunteerism. Other less common forms
of philanthropy include awareness campaigns and promotions of social issues,
donations of products, licensing, event sponsorship, and customer donations. (Peloza
Shang, 2010).
As the most common form of modern philanthropy, cause related marketing can be
defined as a marketing strategy whereby the firm makes a financial or other type of
contribution to a nonprofit organization, contingent upon the customer engaging in a
revenue providing exchange that satisfies both the business and individual objectives.

who are the consumers of the future. Proper CSR can also attract future talent to

Sample Resume On Liquids And Liquids
5 min.
Introduction/Motivation:
Activate prior knowledge Alright friends, we are going to learn some more about
liquids. Who can tell me something they know about liquids? We have been learning
a lot about solids and liquids but I want to know what you remember about liquids.
Tell students that you will be picking three students to say what they know about
liquids. This will speed up the time and will make sure all the activities are
experienced.
Yes liquids can be see through. Another way to say see through is transparent.
Alright two more facts about liquids. Hold up two fingers to visually show how
many more students will be chosen.
Yes! Liquids pour. Do some liquids pour faster than other liquids? Do some liquids
pour slower than others?
Hold one finger up to symbolize that one student will talk and then we will move on.
One more fact about liquids. Raise your hands.
Yes liquids can be bubbly. What is an example of a liquidthat is bubbly?
Pop is a bubbly liquid! I like how you were able to remember facts about liquids!
Communicate the learning objective Today we are still going to focus on liquids
but in a different way. We are going to learn about the level of liquids while they are
in a container. We are going to have different centers that focus on the liquids inside
containers with different activity. We will be measuring water, cutting and gluing,
and coloring today in our groups.

My artwork was inspired by Pablo Picasso Head of A Woman. It was painted in 1960
by oil. This artwork is a woman s head, but there are two parts on her face. One is the
side view and one is the front view, which is the style of Picasso. Likewise, I cube
my face in two part and the opposite side of my shoulder. In my view, that is the way
Picasso used to show 3D of his work, by painting different sides of one object and
put them in one piece. I used blocks of solid color in the background, line drawing,
and sharp boundaries. In contrast. I focus a lot on details. In ancient Chinese art s,
there are some elements that make me thought with Pablo Picasso. When people are

The Death Of Tennessee V Garner
Sidney Hildebrandt
Tennessee V Garner
On the night of October 3rd, 1974 at approximately 10:45 p.m. Edward Garner was
shot by Officer Hymon in an attempt to stop him from escaping a crime scene.
Garner died on the operating table due to the gunshot wound on the back of his
head. His crime was burglary and he was found with a mere ten dollars and a
purse. The case was argued on October 30th, 1984 and a decision was made on
March 27th, 1985. The father of Edward Garner believed his son s constitutional
rights were violated by the defendants Officer Hymon, the Police Department, and the
Mayor of the city of Memphis. With a 6 3 decision, the Justices decided that Officer
Hymon was acting justly under the fourth amendment that states that deadly force is
constitutional as long as it is reasonable . I believe Officer Hymon was acting in
good faith and simply fulfilling his duty to protect the public and stop criminals from
escaping punishment.
Edward Eugene Garner life ended in his eighth grade year at the young age of 15.He
stood at five feet four inches tall and weighed around one hundred pounds.1 The
father of Edward, Cleamtee Garner, brought the case into action by claiming that his
son s fourth, fifth, sixth, eighth and fourteenth amendments were violated.2 Officer
Elton Hymon, along with Leslie Wright received a prowler inside call . Once on the
scene, the two officers were informed that someone was breaking into the house next

Sheltering Sky versus Blood Meridian Essay
Extreme circumstances bring about substantial changes in people. At least that is
what Paul Bowles and Cormac McCarthy seem to be saying in the writing of their
respective books, The Sheltering Sky and Blood Meridian. Both authors place their
characters in difficult locations, dealing with difficult people and expect them to
emerge changed, for better or for worse. In The Sheltering Sky, Bowles takes his
American trio and places them in the desert landsof the African continent where the
wide, dry impossibly desolate terrain takes its toll on their minds and bodies.
Likewise, McCarthy takes his ragged bunchof marauders, most prominently the Kid,
and has them wandering the massive expanse of the untamed west. This convention

Both parties chance upon characters, both eccentric and dangerous, and all involved
seem to get themselves into the most impossible situations imaginable. Apparently
the point Bowles and McCarthy are trying to convey to the reader is that great change
and substantial inner growth can only come about through intense emotional stress
and physical challenge.
Kit, in The Sheltering Sky, learns some very interesting things about herself
through the course of our travels with her. She starts out as Port s wife, a secondary
character of sorts, afraid to voice her opinions on virtually everything. We have the
inside track on her thought s and feelings though, and are privy to the fact that she
is unhappy not only with her situation and current location, but also with her
marriage and identity. We get our first glimpse of her realization of these problems
on her train ride with Tunner, as Port is traveling with the Lyles. Her spontaneous
affair with Tunner is a symptom of her unhappiness and is the beginning of a
downward spiral that takes her to the brink of insanity and far beyond. We see the
beginning of her growth in her encounter in the Fourth Class cabin of the train when
see comes in close contact with the miserable peasant folk and she realizes that aside
from their cultural differences she is no better than these simple folk and in some
ways she is far worse. As her story progresses we, the reader, get to see the progress
of her downfall due to the

Researching Socratic Pedagogy and Education in Plato s Republic
ABSTRACT: Though Plato never wrote a dialogue that explicitly asks, What is
education? , few argue that he is uninterested in the subject; after all, Plato, like
Socrates, was a teacher. In his magnum opus, the Republic, Plato deals with
education repeatedly. The eduction of the guardian class and the allegory of the cave
present two landmark pedagogical passages. Yet to catch a glimpseof Socratic
pedagogy, we must first sift through the intricacies of dialogue. In addition to the
complexity inherent in dramatic context, it seems clear that Socrates remarks are
often steeped in irony. Thus, we stumble upon a problem: how should we read these
passages on education? Does ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The first portion of this paper will analyze various dramatic elements that indicate
Socrates ironic intent with respect to the education of the guardians. The second
portion will focus on the allegory of the cave as Socrates genuine conception of ideal
paideia (or education).
II. Dramatic Context and the Introduction of Irony
A. Conventional Irony
Unfortunately perhaps, we cannot look at Plato s treatise on education to learn about
his educational theory because he does not write analytical treatises. Instead, Plato
employs written dialogues to inspire philosophical insight in his students. In light of
Plato s dialogical style, the dramatic context introduces new complexities to the
project of figuring out Socratic pedagogy.
While many may find Plato s drama a refreshing alternative to the dry argumentation
of a treatise, it is likely that Plato s purposes are not limited to reading ease. In fact,
in many ways the use of drama makes reading Plato a great deal more complex. Plato
certainly makes use of arguments, yet frames them in real life contexts. Thus, the
reader must consider not only the nuances of argumentation, but also the characters
abilities and motives behind presenting the argument in a particular way. So the
argument should not necessarily be taken at face value; instead, such

are easy to produce. It is an evergreen plastic because resources grow annually e.g.
Corn starch, potato, sugarcane etc. As price of petroleum is sky rocketing now a

Summary Of Stephanie Camp s Article I Could Not Stay
There
Historical debates about the enslavement period of America is constantly being
developed and refined as new primary sources and research in academic areas
progress. Stephanie Camp brings a new historical perspective that attempts to build
on previous historical debates by building on underdeveloped areas of America s
Antebellum Period. It is therefore vital to understand the previous historical debates
and the arguments that align and contend with Camp s argument. The broader and
earlier historical contentions of the Slave South tend to focus on the behaviour and
repressive nature of slaves rather than the formation of rebellion in the South.
Historian Kenneth Stampp who wrote The Peculiar Institution (1956) helped to
redefine and focus on... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The article draws on evidence gathered from plantation owner s personal writings,
bondwomens accounts, relatives accounts and statistics to demonstrate the everyday
events and repertoires that occurred in Antebellum plantations. Using plantations
accounts such as William Ervin, Camp is able to give us an insight into the formation
of the plantation and the spatial borders that limit slaves. Furthermore, plantation
accounts from owners gives insight into the punishment that bondpeople receive.
This essential knowledge provides an understanding into the conditions that
bondpeople dealt with every day and the psychological mind set of plantation owners.
Camp builds on these fundamental ideals by using primary accounts from enslaved
people to bring an understanding in why truancy was an everyday occurrence.
Specifically, Camp uses bondwomen s accounts to understand the gender norms that
led to different acts and rates of rebellion inconsistent with men. Camp focuses on the
gender issue of women and the expectations laid by other slave members as described
by Patience M. Avery. The last essential primary evidence that Camp uses to form her
argument is through statistics of slave women which demonstrate the lack of women
escaping to the north in specific states. However, some of her statistics have the
potential to limit her argument as shown in describing incidents of truancy on
plantation farms in South Carolina. These statistics occur in different years, 1828 and
1831 to show the rate of women committing truancy, however the differences in years
could indicate that these rates could be an anomaly. Therefore, although Camp brings
in useful and relative source to build a constructive argument there are areas which
could limit the article. Camps overall uses vital primary sources builds on her
contention
Effects Of The Great Depression On Society
The Great Depression occurred between the years 1929 and 1939 in America. The
Great Depression was the longest lasting economic downfall in America s history.
During the Great Depression there were approximately 15,000,000 unemployed
Americans, which was about one quarter of America s entire workforce. The effects
that the Great Depressionhad on society where so massive that these effects can still
be felt today. The causes of the Great Depression can be linked back to economic
problems within America during the late 1920s, specifically installment buying
and buying stocks on the margin which ended up bankrupting many homeowners
and investors; as the stock market crashed in the year 1929. Following the stock
market crash, arose bank failures, factory closings, and widespread
unemployment. The stock market crash of 1929 occurred on a Tuesday and so
this day was coined as Black Tuesday . The stock market crash on Black Tuesday is
considered by most to be the main cause of the Great Depression. However, there
are many more factors to be considered before autonomous fault can be assigned to
the 1929 stock market crash. Herbert Hooverwas President during the 1929 stock
market crash and beginning of the Great Depression. Herbert Hoover did not
acknowledge the extreme depth of the crisis and assumed that America would quickly
recover on its own, bringing the nation out of the disaster without the need for any
federal intervention. Unfortunately, Pres. Herbert
Flamenco and the Spanish Culture
You can learn a lot about a country based on the music that s produced there. The
music of Spain is rich in both history and culture. Many different musical styles have
originated from various locations through Spain such as Flamenco from Andalusia,
the Galician bagpipe music from Galicia and the classical guitar music that originated
throughout Spainin the early . Spanish music is very diverse and reflects the large
cultural differences between regions. The music of Spain has also had a large impact
on the music of western cultures.(Music of Spain). Flamencois a form of Spanish folk
musicwhich originated in Andalusia in the south of the country. This type of
music as we know it today is a spectacle which is made up for four different
elements Cante Voice, Baile Dance, Toque Guitar, and the Jaleo, which roughly
translated means hell raising and involves hand clapping, foot stomping, and
encouraging shouts of the audience ( Flamenco History. ). However it was not
always like this. Flamenco was first recorded in the late 18th century and consisted
of what the Spanish refer to as Palo Secos, or dry styles.( Flamenco History. ). This
was basicly singing or chanting accompanied only by a rhythm beaten out on the
floor by a wooden staff or cane. However the genre underwent a dramatic
development in the late 19th century and had become the spectacle that we know
today. In the past flamenco music was not very widespread outside the region of its
origin. However in
Research Employment Laws Is A Tough One
Picking out just one country to research employment laws was a tough one. I have
been very fortunate that during my childhood (I was a military brat, and lived
everywhere) and even the last 16 years of my adult life (from being in the military
myself, and being married to a service member) I have been to many countries
around the world. I have enjoyed my time everywhere I have been, as I am one
that always makes the best of the new situation. I probably would be a great
expatriate for a company, since I am one that loves to indulge myself in the local
culture and just learn as much as I can when I am there. I decided on Germany, as that
is one country I have spent the most time in, and one of my best friends (that is born
and raised there) is from there. I have always enjoyed the history and culture of that
country as well.
Hours Worked/Minimum Working Age When I lived in Germany I always
thought it was frustrating that everything was closed on Sundays; as Sundays are
my days for grocery shopping, errands and getting things ready for the following
week. I had to learn to re do my routines to accommodate this; but fortunately, being
in Germany as military personnel, I was able to go on post (or base) to get
necessary shopping done as well since American posts/bases were run by American
law. Germany has a law in place that dictates the amount of hours per day/week/year
that a person can work and this law is the Working TimeAct (WTA). According to
Jung (2001), the

practice of black magic persistently played a role in African culture constantly
following the dispersal of Africans worldwide throughout the past centuries.

During the time of slavery, the practice of black magic in the form of voodoo grew
drastically in popularity. With an unembellished resemblance to the African heritage
of the practice, the influence of voodoo resonated greatly with African Americans as
they began to navigate their roles within the new world. The institution of this
practice created a climate in which voodoo flourished (Brouillette). In addition to the
noticed acceptance of black magic that Brouillette shows, it is evident in the article
Perceptions of New Orleans Voodoo: Sin, Fraud, Entertainment, and Religion that the
practice did more than just provide the African Americanculture with a connection
to its heritage: Voodoo was accepted as a legitimate religion (Long). The article by
Alison Brouillette portrays the practice of Voodoo as the African practice of
worshipping the devil in the form of a snake called Zombi while also examining its

the pool; an investor in a covered bond had recourse to the issuer, as well as a claim
that was secured by the mortgages.2
The mortgages collateralizing the covered bond were called the cover pool .
Covered bonds were typically structured so as to receive a rating of AAA or AA
from the major rating organizations
(AAA denoted instruments of the highest quality). One important difference between
covered bonds and MBS was that the set of mortgages securing the covered bond
were dynamic; in contrast, mortgages comprising a MBS remained static once the
security was issued. In the case of a covered bond, mortgages that experienced
delinquencies were generally substituted out of the pool, with performing mortgages
replacing them.
Just as the individual mortgages in the cover pool were dynamic, the total size of
the cover pool was dynamic as well. The amount of overcollateralization (i.e., the
extent to which the size of the cover pool would exceed the face value of the
covered bonds) would adjust dynamically depending on the financial health of the
issuer. Exhibit 6 shows how recently, as WaMu had been downgraded by the
Literary Analysis Of John O Connor sFirst Confession
Will there ever be an object or idea that can reverse a mistake ? As humans have
evolved, there have been different notions created on the consequences of doing
certain activities or actions. While the preceding is important to take into mind,
does it always have to be so serious? Any individual who grows up does either
childish actions or just simple mistakes. O Connor shows how the formality of this
can be taken to an extreme point with the story of Jackie. In First Confessionhe
creates a humorous tone with the utilization of figurative language and
characterization. To begin with, First Confession holds a strong message, but it holds
it with a touch of humor. With this story being told from a reflective point of view,
it really shows the comical sides of the story. Most of us have those stories that as
we reflect on them now, can be very funny; the same was for Jackie. Jackie wrote
about his first confession, which was probably from a few years back and now he
highlights the funny parts of them. For example, the rivalry between Nora, his sister,
and him. A rivalry which then seemed very serious for Jackie, was not that serious in
reality. As well, his grandmother s arrival was so bad for him then that he even
plotted her murder. The humorous side of this story is reflected mainly in his
conversation with the priest. The priest tells him, Between ourselves, there s a lot of
people I d like to do the same to, but I d never have the nerve. By breaking this line of
The Genre of Southern Gothic in A Good Man Is Hard to...
When you cross the sweeping drama of romance with the macabre isolation of small
town life and then throw in a touch of Southern whimsy you ve cooked up a
collection of American literature absolutely unique in time, place, and sentiment,
Southern gothic. Southern gothic comes from the genre of gothic fiction, and has
some type of supernatural or unusual events in it. It is characterized as having a
grotesque quality yet still having enough good in it to keep readers interested. The
short story, A Good Man is Hard to Find by Mary Flannery O Connor, is often
considered a perfect example of Southern gothicwriting. In A Good Man is Hard to
Find , O Connor has characters typical of Southern gothic. Characters in this genre are

actions and is consistent in his morality, unlike the grandmother. He commits crimes,
though does so believing that they are right and they do not matter. The main
characters all come in contact with one another when the grandmother and her
family are driving for a vacation in Florida, they get in a car accident and encounter
the Misfit. They live in Georgia and the day before they left the grandmother was
reading about the Misfit and trying to talk the family into going to Tennessee instead
so that they would not chance being around him. The grandmother really wants to go
to Tennessee to see her friends, but the dramatic irony of them actually meeting the
Misfit and the situation they get in, is another typical characteristic of Southern
writing. The situational irony of the grandmother becoming a good, enlightened
person after the short conversation she has with the Misfit in the story also shows
how it is in the genre of southern gothic. She reaches out to him, after realizing that
she is a sinner, and tries to redeem herself. She dies with a smile on her face because

Shoulder Pain Research Paper
Shoulder pain
Shoulder joint is a ball and socket joint between the shoulder blade and upper arm. It
is the most mobile joint of the body. There is capsule which is two layers of
members surrounding the joint. Around the capsule, there are some bursae small
fluid filled sacs to assist the mobility. The shoulder joint is a muscle dependent joint
because it lacks strong ligaments.
Muscles surrounding the shoulder joint
Trapezius muscle
Trapezius muscle attaches to the base of the skull and extends down until mid back
and laterally it inserts to the shoulder blades. It is involved in the shoulder blades

It tends to be vulnerable to injury. If this happens, the most common symptom is pain
on the shoulder with or without limited movement. Shoulder pain is very common:
about 3 in 10 adults are affected at some time in the lifetime.
Frozen shoulder is characterised as pain and stiffness of the shoulder. It is most
common in middle aged and older people. Due to pain and limitation of the shoulder
movement, it is difficult to carry out everyday activity such as dressing and bathing
etc. It also can disturb sleep. The symptoms tend to be persistent and get worse
gradually if it is left untreated. In severe cases, the shoulder may not be moved at all.
This is caused by inflamed capsule surrounded the shoulder joint. The inflamed
capsule becomes swollen, thickened and tightened. The inflammation makes the
muscles surrounding the shoulder spasm. This makes the shoulder painful and stiff.
Though this is a common condition, the treatment remains challenging.
Physiotherapy and corticosteroid injections are commonly used to treat frozen
shoulder. Acupuncture with therapeutic exercises is moderately recommended for
pain relief, improving range of movement and function and it is commonly used to
treat frozen shoulder in China and it becomes a popular treatment
Chronic Wasting Disease Analysis
Chronic Wasting Disease (CWD) is a fatal neurodegenerative transmissible
spongiform encephalopathy (TSE ) found in some white tailed deer. CWD is
associated with diseases such as Mad Cow disease, Scrapie, and Creutzfeldt Jakob
disease. With well supported evidence it is hypothesized that CWD originated from
Scrapie. The causation of CWD is an abnormal form of PrPcwd prion. This prion is a
naturally occurring protein found in mammals. Prions lack genome and are highly
resistant to degradation. Chronic Wasting Diseasecan be transmitted by direct contact
between the animals and/or on resources such as salt licks. With a team, Chris
Janelle, studied white tail deer in Wisconsin. Over a 9,000 square mile sample
area, more than 185,000 deer were sampled by the Wisconsin DNR and more than
2,500 of those deer were CWD positive. The team collected data from 16,773 tested
deer and of those 958 were affected with the disease. They were able to test... Show

Another interesting finding was that CWD affects the lymph nodes first, the brain
second, and shows clinical signs (drooling and weight loss) third. All those affected
places no matter what lead to death. Based on their study there were four
assumptions: deterministic transitions (between states), spatial homogeneity (210 sq.
miles), homogenous transmission and mixing (age, sex, infection), and no migration.
It is believed that CWD has been around since the late 60s early 70s, and derived
from scrapie or may be human induced. Janelle stated, Given estimated parameters
from data model is sensitive to adult survival influenced by magnitude of transmission
coefficients and harvest levels. It was noted that in Wisconsin the DNR aren t finding
ways to manage CWD, they are letting it run its course. Also, there were no policy
changes among hunting the
Aaron Copland How We Listen Summary
Writer and composer, Aaron Copland, in his book, How We Listen, divides listening
into three planes: the sensuous, the expressive and the sheerly musical. Copland
argues throughout the work that [listeners] can deepen [their] understanding of music
only by being a more conscious and aware listener. (Copland, 15) Copland s strategy
of breaking the text up with the three planes of listening helps the reader understand
his message in a more complete way.
The first plane Copland describes is what he named, the sensuous plane. (Copland, 7)
On this plane, a listener is only experiencing the music for the enjoyment of listening
to it. They are not thinking about a meaning to the music or the notes that are being
played. In this beginning ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
I understand and appreciate the three planes of listening that Copland had broken
up for his readers, but the tone and manner in which some of the planes were
discussed did not resonate well while I was reading this. Throughout almost all of
the chapter, Copland s tone was harsh and condescending towards the reader, as if he
knew absolutely everything about music and the reader knew nothing. I am also not
sure what it takes to be a qualified music lover, (Copland, 8) but I am sure that it is
not much.
I think for a majority of my experiences with music I fall somewhere between the
sensuous and expressive planes, often flowing between the two of them. My biggest
disagreement with Copland s claim comes from his assertions about people that listen
to music for the most part on the sensuous plane abusing music and listening to enter
an ideal world where one doesn t have to
Compare And Contrast Calvin And Hobbes
Have you ever heard of the comic strip Calvin and Hobbes? If not, there s probably
a good reason why. Calvin and Hobbes was written and illustrated by Bill
Watterson, and was one of the most influential comic strips of the 1980s and 90s.
This strip showed childhood as it really is. As the strip s popularity increased, Bill
Wattersonstarted to fight a war with his syndicate behind the scenes. This battle was
about licensing. Bill Watterson did not want to license Calvin and Hobbesbecause he
believed that licensing cheapens the original creation, does not respect the original
comic, and makes a strip lose its integrity.
Calvin and Hobbes is a comic strip that ran from 1985 to 1995 that follows the

protect women against discrimination. The legislation is a parliament made law that
prohibits discrimination against people because of their gender, race and other

Sexual discrimination occurs to women when they are treated less fairly because

includes being dismissed from employment because of women having family

Eysenck s Theory And The 5 Factor Model
Lola and Personality Theory There are several types of theories regarding
personality traits and development. The ones more commonly in use by researchers
are Eysenck s theory and the 5 factor model. Eysenck s theory consists of
psychoticism (P), extraversion (E), and neuroticism (N). The 5 factor model is
viewed as accurate about personality traits, among all culture s. It consists of PEN
plus additional factors besides PEN; conscientiousness and agreeableness. Eysenck s
theory and the 5 factor model are two popular personality theories that researchers
used to identify personality traits that produce behaviors and both theories consists of
traits that are identifiable in Lola. The preferred theory to use researching Lola is

Controversy is among personality researchers, when it comes to the label of
psychoticism. Next, extraversion refers to the range of extraverts introverts:
sociable to unsociable, lively to unlively, active to inactive, assertive to
unassertive, and sensation seeking to predictive live style. McCrosky et al. (2001)
found that extraversion is highly related to traits of assertiveness and shyness
(p.361). Extraverts have many friends and enjoy being around other people while
introverts have a few intimate friends and enjoy spending their time alone. The
traits in extraversion are expansive in size and direction. Finally, neuroticism has
more of a group of specific traits, which is easier to narrow and link together; N co
occurs among people (Larsen Buss, 2013, p.70). A major trait in P tends to be that of
a worrier and that they also have tendencies to suffer from anxiety/depression. PEN is
a common theory that is in use to identify personality types and can be determined by
performing personality test on individuals to determine their personality. There are
also other methods that researchers use to determine personality traits. Another
popular theory that is common to use in identifying personality types is the 5 factor
theory. 5 Factor Theory The 5 factor theory, is a theory that is a preference, with most
researchers. The researchers, among different cultures, are in complete agreement
Escape In Romantic Poetry
Repression and the Desire to Escape in Romantic Poetry
Romantic poetry encompasses many things, involving, but not limited to; nature, the
sublime, and strong senses of emotion. Many of the romantic poets wrote about
nature, and how nature strongly relates to that sense of emotion. Of course when you
lack emotion, or you are struck with many negative emotions, romantic poetry shows
that nature itself is the remedy that you may require. Not only does romantic poetry
show that nature can cure, but it shows that an escape to nature is required in order to
understand it, and receive the cure that you seek. It shows that you must abandon
your past struggles, and learn to embrace nature. This begs the question; how does
romantic poetry attempt to show that nature is the cure to the issues that you
currently face? Many of the romantic poets attempt to show that through an escape to
nature, you are able to become enlightened. William Wordsworth s The Ruined
Cottage exhibits a woman (Margaret) who is surrounded by romantics, which is used
to contrast that which are her struggles, and her lack of romanticism. This essay will
look at the desire to escape the struggles that the characters are facing through a
romantic escape to nature. It will display how Wordsworth s The Ruined Cottage
conveys a message of escapism to nature as a cure to hardship through a character
that fails to escape, as well as how John Keats Ode to a Nightingale shows a
character who succeeds with

Difference in twins and clones
From the very beginning of evolution, human beings have been developing
themselves rapidly in physical and mental aspects. With every successful
evolutionary era, human beings are found to be somewhat alike to their ancestor.
Birth of twins is always a matter of great curiosity in world. Many are amazed with
this fact of twining. The fact that contrasts offspring s being alike to their ancestor is
a genetic carrier called DNA. DNA is a double helical structure that is composed of
genetic material called chromosomes. Chromosomes found in human body cells are
equal in number in each cell and are formed after the cell division and condensation
of DNA (charlotte 3). With growing technology and scientific progress artificial
twining called cloning is also made possible. But, Identical twins made from
biological parents are incomparable to the clones made from a genetic host.
Genetic material called Chromosomes carry genetic material from springs to spring
with slight variation. During birth unusual division of chromosome can give birth to
twins. Twins can be of two types identical twins and fraternal twins. Identical twins
look alike but fraternal twins do not. Twining is a biological process. There is
another artificial process of making twins that is cloning, which results same as
twining. Usually by definition, clones are living organism that has placed themselves

after reading the comments apparently she is being trained for Police duty since
she did not go into heat and the only time she had been in heat was when she was

Bryan, but that is of course my speculation. Anyhow, in my opinion, this is the best
example of social awareness and intelligence recognizing and showing love for
someone you missed. You can tell she loves him since she is standing upright
embracing and vigorously wagging her tail. In addition to that, she is panting
heavily showing extreme excitement about finally being reunited with Bryan. The
main reason I choose this video was that is showed remembrance and pleasure upon
seeing somebody who they had missed and had nothing to do with training.
Numerous videos that show the dogs, putting up laundry and following an owners

Ever since I was a young child I always wanted to create the next newest and

While I have not had any success yet in creating my own company, I hope to in the

  • 2. The Problem Of Weight Watchers Introduction and Problem Statement Weight Watchers has faced a number of issues in the past several years, many of which are highlighted in the case study for this assignment. The company was able to reach a financial high point earlier this decade in 2011 when it recorded a record breaking 1.8 billion in revenues. However, the company s finances have slowly dwindled ever since then, culminating in losses for seven straight quarters and low stock prices at the beginning of 2015. The core of the problems it was facing were relatively straightforward. The weight loss industry was changing, and Weight Watchers was having difficult changing along with it. Specifically, the company had troubles modernizing its business model to account for the digital age as represented by increasing online options for weight loss. This fact was compounded by the reality that there was greater competition, including that from organizations whose primary business was to capitalize on digital technology to attract customers. Technologies such as mobile devices, mobile applications, cloud computing, and social media had made considerable strides in the way that people were monitoring and attempting to lose weight. Weight Watchers, however, had had only marginal success using these technologies, and faced the undesirable situation in which its methods were becoming rapidly outdated. Financial Analysis: Vision/Mission The vision of Weight Watchers has always been fairly basic in nature. The company
  • 3. Elements Of Superman s Secret Identity The key elements to superman s secret identity are very simple. He doesn t stay in the spotlight for too long, and he takes extra measures to make sure no one follows him home when he is superman. Also, he hides his clothing underneath his shirt to make sure no one finds his super hero clothing. The secret identity in this story is a dangerous secret that no one must know. In the beginning of the story it starts out as something that he cannot tell anyone and that he hates and loves having this double life. In this point of the story the government and news agencies were trying to track him down. They were making his life a living
  • 4. Similarities Between Beauty And The Beast And Shrek As children most of the fairy tales we were told about always involved a beautiful princess, a prince charming and a happily ever after . Among those are Snow White and Cinderella, who are both mistreated by their evil stepmothers, go through difficulties but at the end they find happiness. Almost all these fairy tales emphasize the beauty of the female and male protagonists. They also mostly end in the princess falling in love with the prince, often after the first kiss. For many of us in the real world, this would be the ideal way to fall in love with someone and quite a dream come true. However, there s one fairy tale that gives a different message on what true love is. In the story Beauty and the Beast and the movie Shrek, Beauty and Shrek fall in love with people who are their complete opposites, not by the way they look but the way they are. The ending to both stories bring surprises as they both find out that they re not so different after all. The transformation of Princess Fionainto an ogress and the Beast into a human is not necessary to show a happy ending. In Beauty and the Beast, Beauty is noble and sweet. She is forced to live with a beast in his castle. At first she s scared but as the day passes, she begins to enjoy his company. She visits her father and one night, she dreams that the Beast is dying. She runs back to the castle and pleads for him not to die. As she hugs him, she agrees to marry him, something he had asked her long before but she had refused. As she mutters these words and to her surprise, the Beast transforms into a handsome prince. Shrek is a green ogre who enjoys solitude and keeping to himself. He doesn t have any friends and lives in a swamp. After the ruler of Duloc, Lord Farquaad, sends all the fairy tales to invade Shrek s swamp, he sets out on a journey to find him and get everyone out of his home. He s accompanied by his soon to become sidekick, Donkey, the only one to know the way to Duloc. Lord Farquaad in order to become a king needs to marry a princess. He chooses Princess Fiona, who s locked away in a tower guarded by a dragon. Lord Farquaad agrees to give Shrek his swamp with the condition that he brings Princess Fiona to him. Once again, Shrek and Donkey,

  • 6. Black Bodice Overhead And The Moon Stars twinkled in the black bodice overhead and the moon was nowhere in sight, yet, no one questioned why. All lay dead in the sky while below on land, badlam occurred. It was the 18th Era on Gaia, in the small mountain town of Nibelheim. Squall Leonhart was clutching Cloud s hand, running towards Mt. Nibel, away from the denizens of his hometown. His feet could barely keep up with the speed of the blonde, who was sprinting at an inhuman pace. The ascent of the mountain was too much to handle for the mere men chasing them, while Cloud had swept Squall up and ran with the brunette in tow. Squall knew everything was backwards and wrong. He had fallen in love with Cloud, and Cloud had fallen in love with him. Already not accepted in their... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... He released his lover from his chains and together, they made a break for the Mako caves. Squall was a hunter, not hunted. Everything was backwards and wrong. They reached the caves, Cloud slinging Squall in, away from the entrance. Cloud used his strength to move heavy boulders to block the entrance, preventing anyone from coming in. He turned back to Squall, non existent heart thawing at the sight of his scared, anxious love. Cloud walked over, grabbing the man s face in his gloved hands and kissing him with all the passion he had. Are you okay, my love? Cloud asked, bringing Squall in close to him. I am now, he whispered back, laying a kiss on Cloud s chest. What will we do? I can t go back, and when they get up here, there s no stopping them at all. I can t ask for protection from us. While it s not forbidden for a demon to love a human, it s looked down upon. I only know of one hope for us, but it s not pleasant. Anything, Cloud. Anything for you. I d take any pain over and over, if it meant I can stay with you. We ll have to go to my home, Squall. We ll have to go to the Underworld. What you call, Hell. Hell is better than Nibelheim, Squall murmured, hugging Cloud tighter and closing his eyes. How do we get there? My dear, open your eyes, we re already there. Confused, Squall opened his eyes expecting to still be in the cave, but instead saw he was inside of a dimly lit castle.
  • 7. The Relationship Between Native Canadians And White Middle... Since the beginning of mankind, nature has played an important role in the growth and development of the given species. More so, it played an even bigger role when talking about the relation between the two Canadian groups, natives and white men. Their cultural interaction shifts across the spatial context where people lived, worked and played. Since the late 19th century, the interaction between native Canadians and white middle class population evolved around social and physical environments surrounding natural spaces, more specifically, parks. In other words, their interaction took place in natural, open spaces. Despite the different historical settings, the communication between the two groups was an active component of the identities and experiences of the Canadian citizen. In the 19th 20th century, interaction among these two groups was based on cultural identity, where white Canadians wanted to know more about the Indians who occupied the land and compare it to their own. The secondary readings by Raibmon, Parnaby, and Wall, will let us analyze the different historical settings of Home, Work, and Play respectively while analyzing how nature played a key role. In the first historical space, home, the interaction between these two groups initiated because of the growing curiosity of middle class Canadians towards Aboriginal s homes and way of living. This curiosity was driven by the public s interest in authentic Indian lives which were developed in nature.
  • 8. Economic Motives Of British Imperialism British Imperialism started in India in the year 1600 with the goal of draining wealth from India through the establishment of the East India Company and lasted until 1947, when India gained its independence from Britain. While under British rule, India was shaped socially, politically, and economically. In regards to the economic aspect of India, some historians contest that India s wealth was augmented by British Imperialism while others have argued that British Imperialism actually drained the wealth from India. One historian that takes on this debate is Tirthankar Roy, who wrote the book Traditional Industry in the Economy of Colonial India and argues that the changes that occurred to India s industries during British Imperialism had a... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... G. Hopkins s thesis is that British Imperialism was mainly motivated by economic motives that developed from the capitalist society of Britain and that Imperialism left lasting impressions on the nations it impacted. Cain and Hopkins argue that it was an economic motivation that drove British Imperialism. This is shown when they state, [Capitalism s] main dynamic was the drive to create an international trading system centered on London and mediated by sterling. This quote conveys that British Imperialism was motivated by Capitalism in order to create an international trading system that the British could profit off of. Cain and Hopkins provide additional support to their argument by discussing the economic depravity in Britain when Britain s agriculture declined and the gross value of arable output fell from ВЈ104 million to ВЈ62 million. This decline in agriculture conveys the need for economic growth in Britain that was attained through Imperialism. Furthermore, Cain and Hopkins argue that this economic motive stemmed from the capitalist society of Britain, which is conveyed when they state, As the leading port, London itself was already distinguished by the wealth and cosmopolitan character of its merchant community, and was well placed to launch new ventures overseas. This statement shows that London already had a capitalist structured society that set it on a course for expansion and Imperialism. This is evident since the East India Company originated from London and was Britain s main source of influence in
  • 9. Comparing Descartes, Locke, And Hume Kant described his solution to the problems of dogmatism, on the one hand, and Hume s skepticism about causality, on the other, as a Copernican turn in philosophy. It is not our minds that conform to the world, in the manner that Descartes, Locke, and Hume would have it, but the other way around: it is the conceptual activity of our minds on what is given to us in sensation that creates the world as it appears to us. Kant pays a price for this move: since the world as it appears to us is necessarily a product of what is intuited in sensation as structured by the activity of the transcendental subject, he must give up the possibility of perceiving or conceiving anything about the world as it is in itself, independently of our mental activities. Kant has given up on metaphysics in order to explain the possibility of knowledge. In that move we arrive at the famous distinction between phenomena, that which appears to us as it must appear to us, and noumena, or the ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Following on the ground laid by Fichte and Schelling in the post Kantian elaboration of the critical philosophy, Hegel holds that we do in fact have the noumena in thought for Kant has the thing itself in mind when he conceives of it as that about which we can know nothing! What Hegel is saying, then, is that by positing the limit to thought, Kant has inadvertently brought what is beyond thought back into thought. What is by definition unthinkable is nevertheless being thought in the very process of making the point. This has two central consequences for Hegel s project: 1. The identity of subject and object. Since the noumenal is revealed as another manifestation of phenomena, what is unthinkable is also thinkable. Since what is thinkable depends on the necessary conceptual activity of rational beings, the consequence is that the noumenal world beyond thought is also dependent upon thought. The Kantian subject is identical with its own

In the film, Man of Steel, the idea of preserving, against exploiting natural resources is dramatized. Clarke s birth world Krypton was driven to the point of destruction due to the overuse of natural resources. Kryptonians exploited all of the planets natural resources and the planet couldn t function correctly and the world exploded from the inside. This came after Clarke s birth father had warned the leaders of Krypton not to harvest Krypton s core, To harvest the core would be suicide. It accelerates the process of core explosion, depleting our energy reserves . We as humans, are exploiting close to all of our natural resources without second thought. We chop down trees for fires, buildings etc. and by doing so we are tampering with our fragile environment, unbalancing the oxygen to carbon dioxide ratio and making our air polluted. We are also overusing and exploiting fossil fuels. Fossil fuels consist of oil, coal and gas. Fossil fuels are very important for humans. We use them every day, of every week, of every year. Fossil fuels are used to fuel cars and airplanes, power electricity plants, and heat our homes. They are also used to make medicines, cosmetics, plastics, synthetic fabrics, and lubricants. • 11. Second World War Dbq Essay In the days of the Second World War, the United States was thrusted into being the primary provider of supplies whether it was food or steel. This presented many challenges; how would the U.S. truly get out of the great depression? How would the country amply provide a work force in a world where males dominated the labor industry, the same males that would go off to fight the war? To answer these questions, we must look at several sources such as Roosevelt s famous fireside chats, how the U.S. population at home aided the war effort and the role of minorities. To begin, the American homefront was riddled with ways citizens did their part. This comprised several different procedures. Victory gardens were planted all around the U.S. , these ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Rationing played a pivotal in U.S. success on the homefront. The Homefront also had a distinct lack of a labor workforce as more and more troops left to fight. This called upon women to fill in jobs they would otherwise never do. Also, minorities were thrusted in positions which they had never been before due to racial segregation, Franklin D. Roosevelt said it best in his fireside chat on october 12,1942. In some communities, employers dislike to employ women. In others they are reluctant to hire Negroes. In still others, older men are not wanted. We can no longer afford to indulge such prejudices or practices. Roosevelt had backed the need for no discrimination in the labor force with executive order 8802, this order was composed in 1941 and stated that there shall not be discrimination in defense industries. The result was 8 million women stepping into the labor force, and by 1944 over 5 million African Americans worked to fuel the American war machine. Unfortunately post World War Two brought the firing of many minorites who were the first to be fired when cut backs had to be made to meet the non war economy of the U.S. The Fair Employment Practices Commision which investigated racial discrimination in the workplace of World War Two America disappeared directly after the war. • 12. How Is Mark Twain Racist When taking a look at Mark Twain s Huckleberry Finn, racism is a large theme that seems to be reoccurring. What some may think to be racism in Twain s words, can also be explained as, good story telling appropriate to the era the story takes place in. Twain himself has been suggested as a racist based on the fact that he uses the word niggerin his book. However, Twain was an avid abolitionist. For those who claim that Twain was a racist must have only been looking out for themselves and not those who are willing to learn about the past whether it be ugly or perfect. Racism was and forever will be a dark part of the American past, and no one can change that, no matter how many books one may alter. In this book a number of dialects ... One would doubt that Twain would input the N word into his book without having a good reason to do so. At the time of writing this book, the Civil War was over and the general thought was that slavery and racism was over. The thought then leads to the fact that Twain wanted to make a point of letting readers know that, just because you have abolished slavery does not mean that the racism and bigotry has gone with it. The repel of slavery made no difference to the racism card, and he wanted his Northern readers to know it. When the argument of replacing the word nigger with slave one sees the issue with that. The issue being that nigger in that time meant African American, not necessarily a slave. So looking at a high school or college student in the future reading Huckleberry Finn for the first time and reading is with the word slave the story loses its effect on the reader. It does not give a sense of the time, it would only give a vibe that something is not right in the story. Also how this lifestyle led to him feeling more mature than his peers, engaging in sexual acts with older women, and engaging with individuals that were toxic to a normal development of a young teenager. The mental health of prisoners while in solitary confinement is not a priority to the system. Without this social aspect, prisoners are forced to ravish in their own thoughts. Senghor said that he developed a fear of being alone and encountered truly psychotic people in the hole. This kind of treatment challenged his humanity and the worst part was that he did not know when he would be released (Senghor). Hearing these reactions from a man that spent almost half a decade in the hole is testimony to how brutal this form of punishment is. In addition, solitary confinement prevents face to face interactions with family. Because of this treatment, the relationship he had with with fiance at the time, Brenda, was ruined and the life of their child was changed because he could not communicate with his father. Another aspect of prison that is backwards is the game of basketball. Rather than serving as a release and a recreational activity, this game served as a fight

This Gospel passage shows that our common sense can be easily altered by a crowd of people wishing for a specific outcome. Pilate makes the ultimate decision and worries that if the people do not get this outcome, they will riot and harm the one that made the decision. This happens within our current society as well, regarding politics and how the government feels pressured to do what the people want and if they do not, they fear of rebelling occurring within their nation. Matthew 27:24 26 is alike to Mark because he too uses Pilate and his actions as an example. To stimulate his senses entirely, a man must just sit in the presence of nature. This was an idea found in the works of many romantic poets, who were thought to have a distrust in mankind, but found peace and knowledge in closeness with nature. Romantic poetry allowed us to see their world directly and much of romantic poetry invited the reader to identify the protagonists with the poets themselves. (Abrams) The metre of this poem is in iambic tetrameter, which places emphasis on the power of nature. For example, in the first line, the words old and stone are emphasised by the metre, pointing towards the poets belief in the power and importance of nature. Again, in the third stanza, the metre points towards moth and earth , furthering the pointed use of nature as a genre. it has been common in critical writing since the romantic period to equate the loosening of specifically metrical restrictions

  • 29. Sheltering Sky versus Blood Meridian Essay Extreme circumstances bring about substantial changes in people. At least that is what Paul Bowles and Cormac McCarthy seem to be saying in the writing of their respective books, The Sheltering Sky and Blood Meridian. Both authors place their characters in difficult locations, dealing with difficult people and expect them to emerge changed, for better or for worse. In The Sheltering Sky, Bowles takes his American trio and places them in the desert landsof the African continent where the wide, dry impossibly desolate terrain takes its toll on their minds and bodies. Likewise, McCarthy takes his ragged bunchof marauders, most prominently the Kid, and has them wandering the massive expanse of the untamed west. This convention of forced... Apparently the point Bowles and McCarthy are trying to convey to the reader is that great change and substantial inner growth can only come about through intense emotional stress and physical challenge. Kit, in The Sheltering Sky, learns some very interesting things about herself through the course of our travels with her. She starts out as Port s wife, a secondary character of sorts, afraid to voice her opinions on virtually everything. We have the inside track on her thought s and feelings though, and are privy to the fact that she is unhappy not only with her situation and current location, but also with her marriage and identity. We get our first glimpse of her realization of these problems on her train ride with Tunner, as Port is traveling with the Lyles. Her spontaneous affair with Tunner is a symptom of her unhappiness and is the beginning of a downward spiral that takes her to the brink of insanity and far beyond. We see the beginning of her growth in her encounter in the Fourth Class cabin of the train when see comes in close contact with the miserable peasant folk and she realizes that aside from their cultural differences she is no better than these simple folk and in some ways she is far worse. As her story progresses we, the reader, get to see the progress of her downfall due to the

Researching Socratic Pedagogy and Education in Plato s Republic ABSTRACT: Though Plato never wrote a dialogue that explicitly asks, What is education? , few argue that he is uninterested in the subject; after all, Plato, like Socrates, was a teacher. In his magnum opus, the Republic, Plato deals with education repeatedly. The eduction of the guardian class and the allegory of the cave present two landmark pedagogical passages. Yet to catch a glimpseof Socratic pedagogy, we must first sift through the intricacies of dialogue. In addition to the complexity inherent in dramatic context, it seems clear that Socrates remarks are often steeped in irony. Thus, we stumble upon a problem: how should we read these passages on education? Does ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... The first portion of this paper will analyze various dramatic elements that indicate Socrates ironic intent with respect to the education of the guardians. The second portion will focus on the allegory of the cave as Socrates genuine conception of ideal paideia (or education). II. Dramatic Context and the Introduction of Irony A. Conventional Irony Unfortunately perhaps, we cannot look at Plato s treatise on education to learn about his educational theory because he does not write analytical treatises. Instead, Plato employs written dialogues to inspire philosophical insight in his students. In light of Plato s dialogical style, the dramatic context introduces new complexities to the project of figuring out Socratic pedagogy. While many may find Plato s drama a refreshing alternative to the dry argumentation of a treatise, it is likely that Plato s purposes are not limited to reading ease. In fact, in many ways the use of drama makes reading Plato a great deal more complex. Plato certainly makes use of arguments, yet frames them in real life contexts. Thus, the reader must consider not only the nuances of argumentation, but also the characters abilities and motives behind presenting the argument in a particular way. So the argument should not necessarily be taken at face value; instead, such

Stephanie Camp brings a new historical perspective that attempts to build on previous historical debates by building on underdeveloped areas of America s Antebellum Period. It is therefore vital to understand the previous historical debates and the arguments that align and contend with Camp s argument. The broader and earlier historical contentions of the Slave South tend to focus on the behaviour and repressive nature of slaves rather than the formation of rebellion in the South. Historian Kenneth Stampp who wrote The Peculiar Institution (1956) helped to redefine and focus on... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... The article draws on evidence gathered from plantation owner s personal writings, bondwomens accounts, relatives accounts and statistics to demonstrate the everyday events and repertoires that occurred in Antebellum plantations. Using plantations accounts such as William Ervin, Camp is able to give us an insight into the formation of the plantation and the spatial borders that limit slaves. Furthermore, plantation accounts from owners gives insight into the punishment that bondpeople receive. This essential knowledge provides an understanding into the conditions that bondpeople dealt with every day and the psychological mind set of plantation owners. Camp builds on these fundamental ideals by using primary accounts from enslaved people to bring an understanding in why truancy was an everyday occurrence. Specifically, Camp uses bondwomen s accounts to understand the gender norms that led to different acts and rates of rebellion inconsistent with men. Camp focuses on the gender issue of women and the expectations laid by other slave members as described by Patience M. Avery. The last essential primary evidence that Camp uses to form her argument is through statistics of slave women which demonstrate the lack of women escaping to the north in specific states. However, some of her statistics have the potential to limit her argument as shown in describing incidents of truancy on plantation farms in South Carolina. These statistics occur in different years, 1828 and 1831 to show the rate of women committing truancy, however the differences in years could indicate that these rates could be an anomaly. Therefore, although Camp brings in useful and relative source to build a constructive argument there are areas which could limit the article. Camps overall uses vital primary sources builds on her contention
  • 36. Effects Of The Great Depression On Society The Great Depression occurred between the years 1929 and 1939 in America. The Great Depression was the longest lasting economic downfall in America s history. During the Great Depression there were approximately 15,000,000 unemployed Americans, which was about one quarter of America s entire workforce. The effects that the Great Depressionhad on society where so massive that these effects can still be felt today. The causes of the Great Depression can be linked back to economic problems within America during the late 1920s, specifically installment buying and buying stocks on the margin which ended up bankrupting many homeowners and investors; as the stock market crashed in the year 1929. Following the stock market crash, arose bank failures, factory closings, and widespread unemployment. The stock market crash of 1929 occurred on a Tuesday and so this day was coined as Black Tuesday . The stock market crash on Black Tuesday is considered by most to be the main cause of the Great Depression. However, there are many more factors to be considered before autonomous fault can be assigned to the 1929 stock market crash. Herbert Hooverwas President during the 1929 stock market crash and beginning of the Great Depression. Herbert Hoover did not acknowledge the extreme depth of the crisis and assumed that America would quickly recover on its own, bringing the nation out of the disaster without the need for any federal intervention. One important difference between covered bonds and MBS was that the set of mortgages securing the covered bond were dynamic; in contrast, mortgages comprising a MBS remained static once the security was issued. In the case of a covered bond, mortgages that experienced delinquencies were generally substituted out of the pool, with performing mortgages replacing them. Just as the individual mortgages in the cover pool were dynamic, the total size of the cover pool was dynamic as well. The amount of overcollateralization (i.e., the extent to which the size of the cover pool would exceed the face value of the covered bonds) would adjust dynamically depending on the financial health of the issuer. As humans have evolved, there have been different notions created on the consequences of doing certain activities or actions. While the preceding is important to take into mind, does it always have to be so serious? Any individual who grows up does either childish actions or just simple mistakes. O Connor shows how the formality of this can be taken to an extreme point with the story of Jackie. In First Confessionhe creates a humorous tone with the utilization of figurative language and characterization. To begin with, First Confession holds a strong message, but it holds it with a touch of humor. With this story being told from a reflective point of view, it really shows the comical sides of the story. Most of us have those stories that as we reflect on them now, can be very funny; the same was for Jackie. Jackie wrote about his first confession, which was probably from a few years back and now he highlights the funny parts of them. For example, the rivalry between Nora, his sister, and him. A rivalry which then seemed very serious for Jackie, was not that serious in reality. As well, his grandmother s arrival was so bad for him then that he even plotted her murder. The humorous side of this story is reflected mainly in his conversation with the priest. The priest tells him, Between ourselves, there s a lot of people I d like to do the same to, but I d never have the nerve. By breaking this line of

Next, extraversion refers to the range of extraverts introverts: sociable to unsociable, lively to unlively, active to inactive, assertive to unassertive, and sensation seeking to predictive live style. McCrosky et al. (2001) found that extraversion is highly related to traits of assertiveness and shyness (p.361). Extraverts have many friends and enjoy being around other people while introverts have a few intimate friends and enjoy spending their time alone. The traits in extraversion are expansive in size and direction. Finally, neuroticism has more of a group of specific traits, which is easier to narrow and link together; N co occurs among people (Larsen Buss, 2013, p.70). • 50. Escape In Romantic Poetry Repression and the Desire to Escape in Romantic Poetry Romantic poetry encompasses many things, involving, but not limited to; nature, the sublime, and strong senses of emotion. Many of the romantic poets wrote about nature, and how nature strongly relates to that sense of emotion. Of course when you lack emotion, or you are struck with many negative emotions, romantic poetry shows that nature itself is the remedy that you may require. Not only does romantic poetry show that nature can cure, but it shows that an escape to nature is required in order to understand it, and receive the cure that you seek. It shows that you must abandon your past struggles, and learn to embrace nature. This begs the question; how does romantic poetry attempt to show that nature is the cure to the issues that you currently face? Many of the romantic poets attempt to show that through an escape to nature, you are able to become enlightened. William Wordsworth s The Ruined Cottage exhibits a woman (Margaret) who is surrounded by romantics, which is used to contrast that which are her struggles, and her lack of romanticism. This essay will look at the desire to escape the struggles that the characters are facing through a romantic escape to nature. It will display how Wordsworth s The Ruined Cottage conveys a message of escapism to nature as a cure to hardship through a character that fails to escape, as well as how John Keats Ode to a Nightingale shows a character who succeeds with

Differences In Twins Compare And Contrast Subash Khanal ENGLISH 1113 @ TR@ 9:30 Mrs. Smith 8th Dec, 2016 Difference in twins and clones From the very beginning of evolution, human beings have been developing themselves rapidly in physical and mental aspects. With every successful evolutionary era, human beings are found to be somewhat alike to their ancestor. Birth of twins is always a matter of great curiosity in world. Many are amazed with this fact of twining. The fact that contrasts offspring s being alike to their ancestor is a genetic carrier called DNA. DNA is a double helical structure that is composed of genetic material called chromosomes. Chromosomes found in human body cells are equal in number in each cell and are formed after the cell division and condensation of DNA (charlotte 3). With growing technology and scientific progress artificial twining called cloning is also made possible. But, Identical twins made from biological parents are incomparable to the clones made from a genetic host. Genetic material called Chromosomes carry genetic material from springs to spring with slight variation. During birth unusual division of chromosome can give birth to twins. Twins can be of two types identical twins and fraternal twins. Identical twins look alike but fraternal twins do not. Twining is a biological process. There is another artificial process of making twins that is cloning, which results same as twining. Usually by definition, clones are living organism that has placed themselves in a different

Aw, so sweet Anyhow, after reading the comments apparently she is being trained for Police duty since she did not go into heat and the only time she had been in heat was when she was with Bryan. It maybe that she was suffering from depression being separated from Bryan, but that is of course my speculation. Anyhow, in my opinion, this is the best example of social awareness and intelligence recognizing and showing love for someone you missed. You can tell she loves him since she is standing upright embracing and vigorously wagging her tail. In addition to that, she is panting heavily showing extreme excitement about finally being reunited with Bryan. The main reason I choose this video was that is showed remembrance and pleasure upon seeing somebody who they had missed and had nothing to do with training. Numerous videos that show the dogs, putting up laundry and following an owners gaze to a toy, is most likely the product of training. However, a greeting like Pretty is subtle evidence of social

Please include any past experiences in innovation and entrepreneurship: Ever since I was a young child I always wanted to create the next newest and biggest invention. For example, when I found out the creator of Jibits for crocs (those small plastic accessories that go into the holes of crocs sold her company to crocs for millions of dollars. It was such a simple idea, but also so creative and innovative. I was hooked on the idea of creating a product and starting my own company from that point forward.
