Are Social Networking Sites Good for Our Society Essay
Liliana Katiana English I May 18, 2013 Are Social Networking Sites Good For Our Society? Many
people in our society can relate. We wake up, check our phones. We go to school, check our phones.
We go home, check our phones. And right before we go to bed, we check our phones. And for what?
What are we constantly checking? Imagine logging out of social networking sites for one day. How
would you feel? You would probably feel disconnected and want to log back on as soon as possible.
This generation uses these websites to connect, to stay in the loop, and to become involved. However,
people will take advantage of the use of these websites, and in return, the websites take over the
majority of their life. The act of constantly wanting to be ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
When online, people are blocked off from hearing and seeing these non verbal suggestions. As human
beings, our only real method of connection is through authentic communication. Studies show that
only 7% of communication is based on the written or verbal word. A whopping 93% is based on
nonverbal body language. (Tardanico). This can be a real problem to society because if a person acts
as if he or she was fine online, they could really be hiding their true feelings, and others would never
know. Awash in technology, anyone can hide behind the text, the e mail, the Facebook post or the
tweet, projecting any image they want and creating an illusion of their choosing. (Tardanico). The
person may be feeling upset, depressed, or suicidal, and all others can see is the way they pretend to
be online. Without nonverbal cues, others will never know the true emotions behind the computer or
phone screen. Another issue if that Soon, they will neglect their family and friends as they are too
engrossed with the social networking sites... (Social Networking Destroyed Communication Essay).
Essentially, social networking sites have caused families to slowly drift farther apart. As well, family
bonds and friendships are being worn down and broken. Social networking has caused the importance
of face to face communication to lessen; now we depend on little emoticons and the way the person

Courage, Courage And Courage
You gain strength, courage, and confidence by every experience in which you really stop to look fear
in the face. You are able to say to yourself, I lived through this horror. I can take the next thing that
comes along (Eleanor Roosevelt). It takes courage to live a life that one truly wants to live. One must
be brave and strong enough to pursue this courage and then apply that to their everyday life. The
definition of courage is, mental or moral strength to venture, persevere, and withstand danger, fear, or
difficulty. Some synonyms of this word include bravery, daring and fearless. Antonyms along with
that are cowardice and spinelessness. Courage is important because it justifies how the rest of their life
will go. When applying ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Her life would be torpid. Their would be no real need to be anything other than a basic pakistani girl.
But instead, she feels the need to be herself, the need to act out and do as she pleases because she
believes in her own freedom. As Malala Yousafzai once said, For us girls that doorway was like a
magical entrance to our own special world. As we skipped through, we cast off our headscarves like
winds puffing away clouds to make way for the sun, then ran helter skelter up the steps. This connects
to the theme, courage, because it shows strength and power of staying true to who one is. Even though
Malala has an unusual life compared to ours, she still finds the beauty in it all. She knows what she
wants, she does not let the rules of her society tell her what she can and cannot do. She strongly
believes that she is an independent women and that what she is doing is what she needs to be doing
because it is right. It s hard for girls in our society to be anything other than teachers or doctors if they
can work at all (Malala Yousafzai). This shows courage because Malala was not afraid to be anything
other than what she wanted to be. She is very independent and knows that she is not going to obey by
the society s rules. Malala Yousafzai would not dare let anyone tell her who she was and when they
did, she made sure that knew no matter how to she had to express it. That took bravery and courage

Value Of Graduate Education Essay
During this time and in this economy, graduate education seems to be very important in order for a
person to be successful. Most of what a person does and uses is either made, designed, or taught by
someone who has obtained a graduate degree: we ride in automobiles with systems designed by
engineers having graduate degrees, send our children to schools where a growing number of teachers
have graduate degrees, and go to movies with computer generated special effects designed by people
who have graduate degrees. Recent figures show that students enrolled in graduate education represent
3% of the students enrolled in all levels of U.S. education (Wendler, Bridgeman, Cline, Millett, Rock,
Bell, McAllister, 2010). It is critical to address and understand the value of graduate education:
finding solutions to many of the greatest challenges facing this nation and the world in the 21st
century, such as finding efficient alternative energy sources, will require individuals with graduate
level training (Uhalde, Strohl, Simkins, 2006). Undergraduate education is important by providing
students with foundational knowledge and work skills and offering college graduates a wide range of
employment options, but graduate education goes beyond this by further developing critical thinking
skills and producing innovators (Wendler et al., 2010). By providing students with the advanced
knowledge and skills obtained through graduate education, our country s future economic prosperity

The Pros And Cons Of The NFL Protests
NFL Protests: Counterproductive Free Speech
Arguably, when it comes to personal freedoms, Americans have the most as compared to other
industrialized nations. In the United States, (US) its citizens are guaranteed unalienable rights as put
down in The Constitution via its amendments. More than one might realize, Americans often take
these freedoms for granted only asserting them when someone else brings them to mind. Such is the
case now playing out in professional football stadiums across the country, as illustrated by the many
players in the National Football League (NFL) who choose to kneel or sit during the National Anthem
prior to the start of the game. While most Americans agree the players do have a right to protest, many
believe the time and place of these protests are the issue. When the observance of the National Anthem
takes place, players are on the field and in uniform, representing their teams and the league and
therefore are at work. When other American workers are at work, there is an expectation of specific
conduct as defined by a set of rules. This is also true for the NFL. While companies have various
reasons for implementing these rules, they are, in fact designed to protect the company and its assets.
Therefore, workplace policies such as limiting free speech, are necessary and beneficial not only to
create and maintain an environment where employees can focus on their jobs without unnecessary
distraction, but also to protect the company, its

Migration to the gold fields
The gold rush was the turning point of Australia s history thanks to Edward Hargraves he discovered
gold in New South Wales in April 1851 and soon the gold rush kicked off. Clear evidence has been
provided on how Edward Hargraves started the gold rush started, Information on how push and pull
factors influenced people to the gold fields. Stories have been recounted on how life during the gold
rush was like in the gold fields. Information on how many numbers of migrants came and where they
came and what transportation was used
The gold rush started because Edward Hargraves returned to Australia after prospecting gold in
California he noticed that some parts of Australia were similar and convinced gold could be found. He
was proved right a year later he discovered gold in New South Wales in April 1851 he spread the news
to local colonies and overseas but it took many months for people overseas to find out. For the first
year, the diggings were worked by locals from Australian colonies. Soon after word spread to England
in January 1852 a new rush of migration followed as Britons from all classes decided to try their luck
the discovery of gold in Victoria also added to the hysteria. Husbands left their families, ships were

Gyrotrons are the radiation source of choice for applications which require medium radiation powers

George Bernard Shaw s Pygmalion Critique Values And...
Pygmalion Essay
Essay question: Plays make powerful comments about societal structures. How does Shaw s
Pygmalion critique values and attitudes prevalent in the early 1900 s?
George Bernard Shaw was an Irish immigrant in England, ostracised from society because of his
appearance and heritage rather than from judgement of his person, this kept him apart from most
social classes of the time. This feeling of not fitting in may have inspired Shaw to write the play
Pygmalion which premiered in 1914 to comment on the shallow nature of the people of this era and
satirise the class system. To do this Shaw introduced Eliza Doolittle, a class chameleon, to guide the
audience through the corrupt social hierarchy and give light to those who don t have a real place in the
structure, like himself and Eliza who are judged based on appearance and speech. Shaw confronted his
audience with his satirical reflection of reality; speech defines a persons class instead of what they
have to say and to appear beautiful is more important than to be kind. Emphasising these important
aspects in different ways in various characters gives an interesting view on how this class system
influenced the people in their context. Pygmalion is a both reflection of influence of class and the
values it promotes which Shaw skilfully uses to criticise inequality of all those within it.
Shaw critiques the shallow views of people from the 1900 s by completely disregarding their belief in
the correlation between

Analysis Of Dale Carnegie s On Skills As A Business Owner
TO: Mr. Jes Methipara, Aspiring business owner

RE: Techniques to Consider
Your desire to start your own business is admirable. Dale Carnegie s How to Win Friends and
Influence People would assist you in furthering your business. Please consider the following
techniques when cultivating your skills as a business owner.
What s in it for them?
Many times, people only care about how they will be benefitting in any situation. Because of this,
business owners always need to think about what their employees or consumers will be getting out of
any transaction. This is the most effective way to win them over. Business owners need to clearly
illustrate the benefits for those who have their company in consideration. According to Dale Carnegie,
he was once approached by the company that owns the grand ballroom that he lectures in. The
company said that they were going to be charging Carnegie at a higher price. Rather than speaking
from his own experience, Carnegie explained to the company how charging him more would actually
be detrimental to their company. By only speaking calmly about the company and not himself, he was
able to effectively convince the company not to overcharge him.
In my personal life, if I ever want to convince someone to do what I desire, I always lay out how it
would benefit them. When I want my friends to accompany me to places that they have no desire to go
to, I try to illustrate the

The Policies of Lenin and Stalin Essay
Identified within this study is the argument that whilst many of Lenin s theories and practices were
continued under Stalin, many were in fact developed and extended to new levels, possibly reflecting
different motives: what Pipes refers to as Stalin s personality of excesses . Although for many years,
numerous historians including both members of the Western school of thought (such as Pipes), along
with the official Soviet historians of the time believed that Stalin was the natural heir of Lenin,
opinions have changed with time. As more evidence came out of Stalin s mass atrocities, the Soviet
historians soon began to see Stalin as the betrayer of the revolution as Trotsky had always maintained,

According to this view, had Lenin lived, these policies would probably have been reversed as political
and economic stability was restored, and certainly would not have given rise to the mass
extermination of millions of peasants and party members, which prevailed under Stalin in the 1930s.
In scrutinising the actions of Stalin, I have examined especially how they differed from those of
Lenin, and in what ways the motives for similar actions changed. One aspect of continuity is reflected
in the control and influence that both Lenin and Stalin had over their parties. In 1921, Lenin
effectively destroyed democracy in the party through his ban of factionalism. Although this was used
to end the problem of splits (during the crisis of the same year), many see it as a key factor in allowing
Stalin to rise to power. Stalin often accused people of factionalism (e.g. Trotsky, Zinoviev, Kamenev)
as a response to any challenges to his authority. It also created a situation that allowed the party
leadership to do what it wanted and dismiss any opposition. Pipes argues that as a result of this, the
Bolsheviks were carefully coerced into always following Lenin s will, and that his policy of
democratic centralism was merely a façade like many of the other

At school, I would find a quiet, empty space to talk to my parents instead of doing so out in the open. I
knew that unlike most of my peers, English is not the primary language spoken at my home, and I

American breakfast plate can also be seen as a simple act of moving away from their own culture,
adopting a food that less visibly alienates them from the group of classmates they want to feel similar
to. Specifically, the phrase instead of implies that the children have broken a previous routine of eating
bean paste soup, a custom that was clearly established within the family because the mothers expected
them to continue to eat the Japanese dish. Like these children, I have also seen how the food I eat is a
way that makes me noticeably different from my peers. Getting weird glances from some of my peers

The Influence Of Paul In All Quiet On The Western Front
In the midst of World War One, Paul and his friends join the German Army disillusioned by the glories
it brings with it. However, Paul soon realizes the pains of wars that tear youth and joy from men and
makes a promise: to fight against the meaningless hatred that pits generations of men against each
other, if he can get out alive. Erich Maria Remarque s novel, All Quiet on the Western Front, follows
Paul as he realizes that war is not all it seems and through a series of events on the frontlines, he
begins to fight against what the war stands for.
For Paul and his fellow comrades to survive the gruesomeness of the front, Paul comments how
[e]very conceivable method of parade ground soldiering is used to become hard, suspicious, pitiless
vicious, tough (26). The gruesome training shows how Paul is changing. His original young and happy

The lack of resources, social support, and challenges in attaining educational goals, increased the
vulnerability of the depressive symptoms/disorders that occur during adolescence, (Eshbaugh,

symptoms of depression during the prenatal period were also exhibited by the male partners. Prenatal
depressive symptoms in men have been associated with depression in their female partners, suggesting
the possibility of reciprocal influence (Field et al., 2006). Preliminary findings suggest that the

contributed to depressive symptoms negative parent child relationships and abandonment issues. It

Their contribution during world war one was the main...
Before 1918, women were considered to be very much within their own sphere of influence separate
from men. Throughout the 19th century women had slowly been gaining voting privileges, but only in
areas considered to be within their spheres such as the vote for school boards, the vote for poor law
boards and the vote for county councils. Traditionally many historians have argued that the main
reason for the enfranchisement of women in 1918 was their work during world war one. This view is
being disputed on multiple levels; some argue that the war itself called for a rearrangement of the
whole electoral system. Alternatively other historians argue that the work of the women s suffrage

This clause meant that young men who had been fighting overseas during the war for more than six
months did not meet this requirement and were disenfranchised. This caused public outrage and was
seen to be completely unacceptable that young men were deemed ineligible to vote for the government
of the country they had risked their lives fighting to protect. Bartley argues that due to the unjustness
of this, the whole electoral system had to be rethought and this included women s rights.
Although the war and women s efforts during the war were a significant factor in gaining the vote for
women, the campaigning of the suffragist s has been argued to have been of more significance. The
National Union of women s suffrage societies or the NUWSS aka the Suffragists was an association
composed of mainly middle class women who were well educated and brought up believing in equal
rights for women. The reason there were very few working class women in the NUWSS was because
they were generally not supported by their husbands as working class men believed that women
should remain below them and did not believe in equal rights. The leader of the NUWSS was
Millicent Fawcett; a middle class woman, married to a lawyer and was brought up believing in equal

Introduction:
GABAA (Gamma Aminobutyric Acid) receptors are the main inhibitory neurotransmitter receptors in
the mammalian brain. Although these receptors have been found in other parts of the body like liver9,
smooth airway muscles of the lungs10, and several type of immune cells11,12, their main function
comes in the nervous system, specifically neurons. The GABAA receptors located in the postsynaptic
membrane are stimulated by GABA neurotransmitter released from the pre synaptic neurons and
functions to inhibit neuronal stimulation in the short term (millisecond time range), while the
extrasynaptic GABAA receptors are stimulated by ambient GABA in the extracellular space and
confers long term inhibition.2 However, there are many types of GABAA receptors depending on the

Cys loop receptors are characterized by pentameric ligand gated ion channels. Some other members of
this superfamily are nicotinic acetylcholine (nACh), 5 hydroxytryptamine (type 3, 5HT3) and glycine

depolarize or excite neurons, whereas GABAA/B receptors and glycine receptors contain anion
selective channels that, in most cases, hyperpolarize or inhibit neurons. Exception occurs during early
postnatal development when these channels are excitatory.5, 3 Neuropathic pain can occur if these
channels become excitatory in adults.16 The unique feature of GABA receptors that distinguish it
from other cys loop receptors is its activating ligand GABA (or accurately γ aminobutyrate). There are

The questions addressed in this particular hypothetical case distinguish between crimes (a) and (b),
both perpetrated by a person of generally well accepted standing. The only distinction between them is
in relation to the sentence imposed. The law does not prohibit the publication of an individual s
criminal convictions, irrespective of the type of crime or misdemeanor as seen in Campbell v Mirror

Hence, the instance referred to here, concerning a news report regarding Malcolm Somebody being
charged of a sexual offence, demonstrate behaviour which is not fitting for a person of any particular
standing, therefore there is limited room for lowering individual any more in the eyes of society. At
any rate, hypothesis (b) would go before a jury. As long as the report only covers facts without any
additional sting, there is little or no legal remedy, not even a right to protection under the privacy

Nevertheless, should the reporting go beyond the necessary degree of straight fact, the professor could

juries can be persuaded that newspaper reports can contain libel or defamatory statements. The

Nontraditional Charcters in The Awakening by Kate Chopin...
Kate Chopin uses dynamic characters to help create Edna Pontillier. By using Mr. Pontillier, Edna s
children, and Madame Ratignolle to contrast Edna; and Robert, Madame Raisz, and Arobin as
supporting characters to Edna s untraditional ambitions Kate Chopin produces an independent,
unconventional woman. While some characters contrast to Edna all of the characters in The
Awakening help to illuminate Edna s opposition to Creole tradition. Without the use of supporting and
contrasting characters Edna would have never been able to fly above tradition. With a husband and
two children at the age of twenty eight, Edna Pontillier realized that the mother wife life was not for
her. With her new found independence Edna s husband was unsure of how ... Show more content on

Since Madame Ratignolle and Edna are classified under the same group of women, Madame
Ratignolle makes Mrs. Pontillier look like a floozy. Madame Ratignolle is also a contributing factor to
Mrs. Pontillier s life ending decision. Adele, pressing her cheek, whispered in an exhausted voice:
Think of the children, Edna. Oh think of the children! Remember them! (pg. 182) This declaration that
Madame Ratignolle makes as Edna is leaving aids her in thinking about the children and what they
deserved as well as what she deserved. In The Awakening Robert and Mademoiselle Reisz are the first
people who truly extract Edna s sexuality and independence. Rather than socialize with all the men in
the Creole Society Robert chooses to spend his time with Mrs. Pontillier and Madame Ratignolle.
Many people, including Madame Ratignolle, could see the sensual tension between Robert and Edna.
Do me a favor, Robert... I only ask for one; let Mrs. Pontillier alone. (pg. 35) Although Robert leaves
Grand Isle in order to save Mrs. Pontillier he is a predominate factor in why she openly begins to
abandon the Creole Society. Robert is the first character in the story to accept and appreciate Edna s
free spirit and open mind. He helps teach her how to swim and shows the affection and support that
she has been looking for. Robert is able to extract Edna s rebellious because she falls in love with him.
This is seen when in Mademoiselle Reisz and Edna s conversation. Why do you love him when

Essay The Elvis Craze
The Elvis Craze The public made Elvis Presley larger than life, better known than Jimi Hendrix, John
Lennon and in some cases God Himself. I cannot quite understand the Elvis craze. I don t think he was
a handsome man, I don t enjoy his music, I won t waste my time trying to sit through one of his
boring, talentless movies, and if, God forbid, I end up on my deathbed with some horrible, incurable
disease, I certainly won t make a pilgrimage to Graceland to be miraculously healed. Jack Gould
conveyed some of my feeling in the essay TV: New Phenomenon when he wrote, Mr. Presley has no
discernible singing ability. Although he gave away cars, cash, and gifts to friends, family, and
sometimes, strangers, I can t think of any of his ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
In his teen years, Elvis absorbed the cultural aspects and musical style of Country, Gospel, and
Rhythm Blues. He lived in the South, where Country music was most prevalent, it was sort of a given
for him for him to adopt the country music style. His parents were devout churchgoers, and Elvis
frequently attended the all night revivals, where he enjoyed jumping around and singing the gospel. It
is also known that Elvis spent quite a bit of time on Memphis s Beale Street, known for its Rhythm
Blues clubs. When Elvis did unoriginal songs that had been sung previously by other artists, he added
his own flavor that was made up of his mixed Gospel, Country, and R B background. His style drew
diverse crowds, and songs such as Hound Dog and Don t Be Cruel went to #1 in the Country, R B and
Pop charts. None of this justifies the deification of Elvis. After a brief stint in the US Army, Elvis
started concentrating more on movies. He made a wide variety of movies, GI Blues, Blue Hawaii,
Viva Las Vegas, and Fun in Acapulco to name a few. Although the movies were basically glorified
music videos, as they contained no real plot and a lot of singing, these movies and their songs made
millions. I honestly think that if the Elvis myth that is discussed in Griel Marcus s essay, Presliad, had
not already been put in place by Elvis s fans, the movies would not have grossed half the money,

Marie Moreau And Alain Delon Star Persona
Both Jeanne Moreau and Alain Delon star persona s are notable for being embodiments of two
distinctly different approaches to France s burgeoning modernity in a post war context. Though each
star s representation of a new form of French modernity deviate due to their different gendered
experiences. Their images of modernity challenged traditional codes and conventions of France s past
and represented different and new ideas of the French individual. These challenges were particularly
gendered, through their perpetuation of new ideals and images of gender in French society. In the case
of Jeanne Moreau, her star image came to represent a new image of the French woman. Moreau s
image represented an idea of femininity that was a radical ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
She lived a new form of bourgeois lifestyle that was affluent, cultivated but more anti conformist and
less cynical, despite remaining very consumeristic. Her focus on leisure as well as individual freedom,
represented another key aspect of French modernity in its mirroring of capitalist and Western ideology.
This behaviour could be seen in her private life and film roles, as she smoked, drunk and strolled the
streets of urban environments, while going to street bars, cafes, casinos. Just like like the modern
female Moreau showed a boredom with traditional bourgeois life and her role as an urban woman, was
a departure of typical conceptions of French femininity, that kept the woman in the domesticated
sphere. This urban femininity can be seen in many of her film roles, such as the 1957 Louis Malle
directed film Ascenseur Pour l Échafaud (Elevators to the Gallows). The film captures her freedom to
wander and traverse the environment through its use of tracking shots that trace her movement and
emphasise her belonging and control over the space. Moreau s modernity must also be considered
through her significant role as an actor of the New Wave. In many ways Jeanne Moreau became a
personification of the New Wave style in her star persona, and this shaped her image of femininity. As
a New Wave star, Moreau rejected, the overly constructed image of the French female, that dominated
the persona of previous stars. Unlike previous

Essay about Toward a Definition of Modernism
Toward a Definition of Modernism
Lawrence B. Gamache s article Toward a Definition of Modernism encapsulates in its title the
challenges critics meet in their attempts to formulate a coherent theoretical modernist model, though
the quintessential modernist works even at the time of this 1987 article are over sixty years old.
Indeed, the sheer number of scholarly books and articles that discuss or contribute to the debate
surrounding the definition of modernism indicates the extent to which modernism is a term whose
only non contentious consensus is that it its meaning is fraught with ambiguity. Susan Stanford
Friedman s contribution to the debate summarizes the theoretical crises thus:

But the latter two dramatists are as often classified post modernists as they are classified modernists
(Faulkner 22, Abrams 168). Faulkner remarks, It is in poetry and the novel that Modernism can first
be most clearly discerned [...] developments in drama followed a different course (21). Opera, or
music in general, for that matter, is rarely commented upon in terms of modernism outside of
musicology, saving the usual passing references to Stravinsky and Schoenberg, who have seemingly
become the genre s representative modernists (Abrams 168). But it is my contention that early
twentieth century composers and their librettists could not have been immune to the great surge of
creative energy that erupted when the modernists burst on to the scene. Therefore, against a hypothesis
that insists that for a work to be considered modernist, it must find traditional forms incapable of
expressing new or particularly twentieth century sentiments, and thereby must self consciously
experiment with new forms, I will examine three seminal twentieth century operas: Strauss/Wilde s

Essay on The Relationship between Dido and Aeneas
The Relationship between Dido and Aeneas
Throughout the beginning of the Aeneid Dido, the queen of Carthage, and Aeneas, son of Venus and
leader of the Trojans have an intimate relationship that ends in death. The relationship begins in Book
I when Venus, the goddess of love, has her other son Cupid fill Dido with passion for Aeneas, to
ensure Aeneas s safety in this new land. Meanwhile Venus/Plotted new stratagems, that Cupid,
changed/ In form and feature, should appear instead/ Of young Ascanius, and by his gifts/ Inspire the
queen to passion, with his fire/ Burning her very bones. (693) Venus did this to protect Aeneas and his
son, in fear that Dido would have otherwise been cruel to them.
As Aeneas tells his story he portrays ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
They both do this for their own personal well being, but it does bring the couple together even more
then originally intended. Dido s passion has gone out of control, which causes physical and emotional
disorder. What woman/ In love is helped by offerings or altars?/ Soft fire consumes the marrow bones,
the silent/ Wound grows, deep in the heart. (67) This is an excellent example of Dido s inability to
control her passion, whereas she resembles the fire, and the wounds make the fire grow deeper. The
reference to her marrowbones is probably in place to reinforce the lust that cupid had burned within
her bones earlier. Her burning passion for Aeneas makes her grow physically sick.
Dido has realized that her relationship with Aeneas is over, and that her compelling passion for him
will bring her to an end, and she is still unable to change the course of events. When Dido learns about
Aeneas s departure she is overcome by rage, and despair, which brings her to the decision that she will
kill herself. Then Dido prays for death at last; (488). She has hoped that Aeneas would fall and die,
untimely, let him like unburied on the sand. (662). At this time she lies down on the funeral pyre and
stabs herself with Aeneas s sword.
Although Aeneas was a star struck lover, he is driven by fate to his only true love, Italy, and it appears
that he has replaced his love for Dido with the love for his future home. Shove off, be gone! A

The Theories Of The And Evolution
Galileo saw worlds other than our own, Darwin explained the concept of growth and evolution, Freud
theorized explanations for our suppressed cognition, Archimedes ran out of a bathtub yelling Eureka
once he established the concept of density, and many other renowned scientists provided substantial
theories to explain common associations within everyday life. These brilliant researchers gave reason
to the term why . They provoked curiosity, established ideologies, and generated scientific laws that
define logic. Evolution, adaptation, and development have been classified as natural instincts for
human progression; to discover and uncover the explanations of reality. Once the diagnostic puzzles
have been given solutions, they can be used to benefit our race. We have enhanced research and
studies to allow these scientific outbreaks to lead to greater good. Physical Therapists have the same
aspirations; to improve the quality of life and make developmental progress with our deteriorating
bodies. As people get older or fall victim to injuries, their bodies become damaged. The body is like a
machine; there are levers (joints), pumps (heart), plumbing (vasculature), wiring (nerves), and many
other mechanical affiliations that make the body work as a whole. It is an elaborate product to produce
work, so when an injury or abnormality occurs, it prevents the full magnitude of work to be exerted.
For example, each joint within the body has an average range of motion,

Chris Stapleton s Music Analysis
Chris Stapleton released his debut album, Traveller, in the Spring of 2015. This album is characterized
by what I would describe as a traditional country feel, but with a slightly more modern sound, or to be
more technical, a country rock meets blues album. This record, and Chris Stapleton himself, went
relatively unnoticed by the general public after initial release. It was not until the 2015 CMA awards
when Stapleton performed Tennessee Whiskey with Justin Timberlake that his album truly took off
(Welch). Since then, songs from Traveller can frequently be heard on national country radio stations,
as well as on tour, a show I will be attending in May. The reason I chose to review Traveller is because
Tennessee Whiskey sucker punched me in the best way possible. By this I mean that before I heard the
song, I had been ignoring most new country music and artists because I had not been connecting with
the music like I did in previous years. For the past seven years of my life I have been listening to
almost exclusively rock and metal music, music ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Most of the time, Stapleton is singing with a strong, deep voice and at a slower pace, however he
displays his range full force on tracks such as Might As Well Get Stoned and Sometimes I Cry. On
Might As Well Get Stoned, Stapleton goes high in a broken manner, which would typically seem like a
mistake, however the brokenness of the notes only adds to Stapleton s emotional delivery of the song.
Sometimes I Cry is one of the most vocally profound country songs I have ever found. The first time I
listened to it, I genuinely got chills as the whole song is such an experience. The vocals of this song
are similar to Jackie Wilson s song Please Tell Me Why, as both are weeper style, though Stapleton s is
a more subdued version of it. This song best exemplifies his range on Traveller as it is easy to tell that

Toyota s Quick Thinking Operations Management Essay
Managing Operations
In March of 2011, northeastern Japan was struck by one of the largest earthquakes ever recorded. The
magnitude 9 quake (Oskin, 2015) triggered a devastating tsunami, killing thousands, damaging the
country s infrastructure and paralyzing all private, public, and government entities. One of the
businesses disrupted by the disaster was Nissan Motor Company LTD, a multinational auto
manufacturer producing automobiles under the brand names of Nissan, Infiniti, and Datsun. This
paper will discuss how Nissan s quick thinking Operations Management (OM) team responded to the
crisis with rapid efficiency, helping it to capture a competitive advantage over other Japanese auto
makers and succeed in its recovery from this monumental natural disaster.
I. Generating Value A. Evaluate how the company (Nissan) in the case study uses operations
management functions to provide products and generate value for its customers. Support your claims
with examples from the case study or outside sources.
It takes a skilled, prepared, empowered, and above all a diversified OM leadership. One of Nissan
greatest strengths is employing a diversified leadership, a workforce of nationalities, which draws on
the strengths and experiences from many. This corporate strength brings a robust collaboration of
ideas and unique approaches to resolving any issue.

How Did Ho Chi Minh Influence Vietnam
Ho Chi Minh was the original leader of the Democratic Republic of Vietnam, which is now the Social
Republic of Vietnam. He is well known for leading the Northern Vietnamese and National Liberation
Front to battle against the South Vietnamese and Americans up until his death in 1969. Ho Chi Minh
influenced world history by leading the first nation to completely defeat the United States, take control
of Vietnam and defeat international colonialism, and also unite the Vietnamese people under a new
blend of Nationalism and Communism.
Under Ho Chi Minh, Vietnam was able to defeat the colonial powers of France and Japan, and
establish their own nation. In September 1945, Ho declared independence for the Democratic
Republic of Vietnam. This was appropriate ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The Vietnamese were being forced to work for the French, however they never received wages for
their work. In addition, the French heavily taxed the Vietnamese, which unnecessarily made the
Vietnamese poorer than they needed to be. The final important immorality which the French bestowed
upon the Vietnamese is no true control over their own people, with the French controlling all of the
political regimes in the north, south, and central sections of Vietnam. Notwithstanding, there is also
the major atrocities of the Japanese, which contributed to even more persecution of the Vietnamese
people. Once the France became absorbed by Germany during World War II, Japan took control of
Vietnam, which was known at this point as Indochina. The Japanese took most of Vietnam s resources,
with over two million Northern Vietnamese people dying due to starvation. With this all in mind, the
fact that Vietnam was able to declare independence is somewhat mind numbing, because it did not
appear that the Vietnamese could handle possibly fighting the French, the Japanese, or other Western
nations in arms. With Japan s defeat in World War II in 1945, Ho seized the opportunity and let it

Why You Want Your Crowdfunding Campaign
Be Realistic If You Want Your Crowdfunding Campaign to Be a Hit
Like any great food dish, a successful crowdfunding campaign requires the right mix of ingredients.
And just as a chef wouldn t expect one three egg omelete to satiate an entire night s worth of diners, a
half baked crowdfunding campaign is unlikely to lead to a windfall of millions of dollars in cash.
To start determining the right amount or a realistic amount to try to raise in a crowdfunding campaign,
an entrepreneur needs to first determine what type of crowdfunding they want to pursue. Two of the
more popular types are rewards based and equity crowdfunding, but these two styles have significant
differences.
Let s be clear... Reward and investment based ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
These types of crowdfunding are still quite new so the data is limited, but for those raising money
from ordinary investors using the $1 million cap, the average business has raised about $700,000,
according to Entrepreneur.
Prior to these allowances for equity crowdfunding, only wealthy investors were able to contribute to
these types of campaigns, which averaged a little over $400,000 per company, according to a
September 2015 article from Crowd101.
Serving a Treat with Rewards Based Crowdfunding
Rewards based crowdfunding offers an alluring alternative to equity crowdfunding because
entrepreneurs can hold onto their ownership stakes and offer contributors a reward instead. These
rewards could be anything to entice donors, such as providing the full product itself or offering a small
giveaway like a t shirt.
While this type of crowdfunding may sound sweeter, it could be more difficult to use this method as
the main source of capital.
On rewards based crowdfunding site Kickstarter, for example, the average campaign has raised a little
over $8100 dollars, and the success rate is only 36%, meaning those that don t reach their funding goal
don t receive the capital.
For those that did meet their goal, the average campaign raised just over $20,000, which is certainly a
step up but still below the levels of equity crowdfunding campaigns.

My Community Is The Best For The Most
My community is anyone who identifies as Mexican/Latino(a)/Chicano(a). I choose this community
because I believe there are issues that need to be addressed with the way Latinos are portrayed in
society. Right now, due to the media, if someone says illegal immigrants a person automatically thinks
about someone from Mexico. I believe this is a problem because it causes Mexicans to have a negative
stereotype, which often times include anyone who looks Mexican. After reading Rules for Radicals I
have learned that I need to start seeing the world how it is not were I want it to be before (Alinsky 12).
Alinsky defines ethics as doing what is best for the most (Alinsky 33). Since it is in the best interest
for my community to not have such a negative stereotype I plan to address this issue by educating
individuals on different issues that reinforce negative stereotypes such as calling an individual an
illegal immigrant. I believe this is important because no person can actually be illegal and using the
term alien to identify someones documented status is a form of dehumanization. I would also share
different forms to view Donald Trumps position on undocumented immigrants in order to ease tension
and share how his position is not very logical. My goal is for society, from the United States, to no
longer think of Mexicans as illegal immigrants, but rather refer to people who are here with out
residency as undocumented. I would also like if the world thought of everyone as

The Pros And Cons Of The Salem Witchcraft Trials
The Massachusetts Salem witch craft trials, this was a complicated time in history. With the conflict of
the hangings, Salem didn t have the best compromise. At a time in history when the government didn t

trails where the government convicted men and woman of practicing witch craft, thus being hanged.
Though this compromise stopped the witchcraft practicing, the government realized those men and
woman were wrongly convicted later on. Today the government understands to let all civilians

The emphasis on satanic influence and belief in the inferiority of women as conduits of evil made
Puritan communities particularly vulnerable to the hysteria that was constantly inflamed by the
dangerous and uncertain conditions of colonial life. The community atmosphere of seventeenth
century Massachusetts was one of isolationism, paranoia, and repression. Modern historians have
discerned a pattern of crisis and subsequent hysteria among the Puritan villages. Communities in
colonial Massachusetts were extremely vulnerable to famine, attacks from neighboring Indian tribes,
epidemics, and general economic hardship. Communities would generally band together during these
times of crisis, but as soon as the crisis had passed, they would vent their tension and fear by lashing
out at neighbors with accusations of witchcraft as the underlying cause of the crisis. People from
Europe began coming to the U.S to have their religious freedom. In 1691, the new rulers of England,
Mary and William, created a new religious charter, instead of reissuing the old charter, and also
combined the Massachusetts, Plymouth Colony and several other colonies into one. The new charter
and regime basically continued the policies of the Dominion of New England. The puritans, who had
left England due to religious persecution, feared their

  • 2. Are Social Networking Sites Good for Our Society Essay Liliana Katiana English I May 18, 2013 Are Social Networking Sites Good For Our Society? Many people in our society can relate. We wake up, check our phones. We go to school, check our phones. We go home, check our phones. And right before we go to bed, we check our phones. And for what? What are we constantly checking? Imagine logging out of social networking sites for one day. How would you feel? You would probably feel disconnected and want to log back on as soon as possible. This generation uses these websites to connect, to stay in the loop, and to become involved. However, people will take advantage of the use of these websites, and in return, the websites take over the majority of their life. The act of constantly wanting to be ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... When online, people are blocked off from hearing and seeing these non verbal suggestions. As human beings, our only real method of connection is through authentic communication. Studies show that only 7% of communication is based on the written or verbal word. A whopping 93% is based on nonverbal body language. (Tardanico). This can be a real problem to society because if a person acts as if he or she was fine online, they could really be hiding their true feelings, and others would never know. Awash in technology, anyone can hide behind the text, the e mail, the Facebook post or the tweet, projecting any image they want and creating an illusion of their choosing. (Tardanico). The person may be feeling upset, depressed, or suicidal, and all others can see is the way they pretend to be online. Without nonverbal cues, others will never know the true emotions behind the computer or phone screen. Another issue if that Soon, they will neglect their family and friends as they are too engrossed with the social networking sites... (Social Networking Destroyed Communication Essay). Essentially, social networking sites have caused families to slowly drift farther apart. As well, family bonds and friendships are being worn down and broken. Social networking has caused the importance of face to face communication to lessen; now we depend on little emoticons and the way the person ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 3. Courage, Courage And Courage You gain strength, courage, and confidence by every experience in which you really stop to look fear in the face. You are able to say to yourself, I lived through this horror. I can take the next thing that comes along (Eleanor Roosevelt). It takes courage to live a life that one truly wants to live. One must be brave and strong enough to pursue this courage and then apply that to their everyday life. The definition of courage is, mental or moral strength to venture, persevere, and withstand danger, fear, or difficulty. Some synonyms of this word include bravery, daring and fearless. Antonyms along with that are cowardice and spinelessness. Courage is important because it justifies how the rest of their life will go. When applying ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Her life would be torpid. Their would be no real need to be anything other than a basic pakistani girl. But instead, she feels the need to be herself, the need to act out and do as she pleases because she believes in her own freedom. As Malala Yousafzai once said, For us girls that doorway was like a magical entrance to our own special world. As we skipped through, we cast off our headscarves like winds puffing away clouds to make way for the sun, then ran helter skelter up the steps. This connects to the theme, courage, because it shows strength and power of staying true to who one is. Even though Malala has an unusual life compared to ours, she still finds the beauty in it all. She knows what she wants, she does not let the rules of her society tell her what she can and cannot do. She strongly believes that she is an independent women and that what she is doing is what she needs to be doing because it is right. It s hard for girls in our society to be anything other than teachers or doctors if they can work at all (Malala Yousafzai). This shows courage because Malala was not afraid to be anything other than what she wanted to be. She is very independent and knows that she is not going to obey by the society s rules. Malala Yousafzai would not dare let anyone tell her who she was and when they did, she made sure that knew no matter how to she had to express it. That took bravery and courage beyond all ... • 4. Value Of Graduate Education Essay During this time and in this economy, graduate education seems to be very important in order for a person to be successful. Most of what a person does and uses is either made, designed, or taught by someone who has obtained a graduate degree: we ride in automobiles with systems designed by engineers having graduate degrees, send our children to schools where a growing number of teachers have graduate degrees, and go to movies with computer generated special effects designed by people who have graduate degrees. Recent figures show that students enrolled in graduate education represent 3% of the students enrolled in all levels of U.S. education (Wendler, Bridgeman, Cline, Millett, Rock, Bell, McAllister, 2010). It is critical to address and understand the value of graduate education: finding solutions to many of the greatest challenges facing this nation and the world in the 21st century, such as finding efficient alternative energy sources, will require individuals with graduate level training (Uhalde, Strohl, Simkins, 2006). Undergraduate education is important by providing students with foundational knowledge and work skills and offering college graduates a wide range of employment options, but graduate education goes beyond this by further developing critical thinking skills and producing innovators (Wendler et al., 2010). By providing students with the advanced knowledge and skills obtained through graduate education, our country s future economic prosperity and ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 5. The Pros And Cons Of The NFL Protests NFL Protests: Counterproductive Free Speech Arguably, when it comes to personal freedoms, Americans have the most as compared to other industrialized nations. In the United States, (US) its citizens are guaranteed unalienable rights as put down in The Constitution via its amendments. More than one might realize, Americans often take these freedoms for granted only asserting them when someone else brings them to mind. Such is the case now playing out in professional football stadiums across the country, as illustrated by the many players in the National Football League (NFL) who choose to kneel or sit during the National Anthem prior to the start of the game. While most Americans agree the players do have a right to protest, many believe the time and place of these protests are the issue. When the observance of the National Anthem takes place, players are on the field and in uniform, representing their teams and the league and therefore are at work. When other American workers are at work, there is an expectation of specific conduct as defined by a set of rules. This is also true for the NFL. While companies have various reasons for implementing these rules, they are, in fact designed to protect the company and its assets. Therefore, workplace policies such as limiting free speech, are necessary and beneficial not only to create and maintain an environment where employees can focus on their jobs without unnecessary distraction, but also to protect the company, its ... • 9. George Bernard Shaw s Pygmalion Critique Values And... Pygmalion Essay Essay question: Plays make powerful comments about societal structures. How does Shaw s Pygmalion critique values and attitudes prevalent in the early 1900 s? George Bernard Shaw was an Irish immigrant in England, ostracised from society because of his appearance and heritage rather than from judgement of his person, this kept him apart from most social classes of the time. This feeling of not fitting in may have inspired Shaw to write the play Pygmalion which premiered in 1914 to comment on the shallow nature of the people of this era and satirise the class system. To do this Shaw introduced Eliza Doolittle, a class chameleon, to guide the audience through the corrupt social hierarchy and give light to those who don t have a real place in the structure, like himself and Eliza who are judged based on appearance and speech. Shaw confronted his audience with his satirical reflection of reality; speech defines a persons class instead of what they have to say and to appear beautiful is more important than to be kind. Emphasising these important aspects in different ways in various characters gives an interesting view on how this class system influenced the people in their context. Pygmalion is a both reflection of influence of class and the values it promotes which Shaw skilfully uses to criticise inequality of all those within it. • 10. Analysis Of Dale Carnegie s On Skills As A Business Owner TO: Mr. Jes Methipara, Aspiring business owner FROM: Ms. Samantha Nartadam, Student DATE: December 14, 2015 RE: Techniques to Consider Your desire to start your own business is admirable. Dale Carnegie s How to Win Friends and Influence People would assist you in furthering your business. Please consider the following techniques when cultivating your skills as a business owner. What s in it for them? Many times, people only care about how they will be benefitting in any situation. Because of this, business owners always need to think about what their employees or consumers will be getting out of any transaction. This is the most effective way to win them over. Business owners need to clearly illustrate the benefits for those who have their company in consideration. According to Dale Carnegie, he was once approached by the company that owns the grand ballroom that he lectures in. The company said that they were going to be charging Carnegie at a higher price. Rather than speaking from his own experience, Carnegie explained to the company how charging him more would actually be detrimental to their company. By only speaking calmly about the company and not himself, he was able to effectively convince the company not to overcharge him. In my personal life, if I ever want to convince someone to do what I desire, I always lay out how it would benefit them. When I want my friends to accompany me to places that they have no desire to go to, I try to illustrate the ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

The Policies of Lenin and Stalin Essay Identified within this study is the argument that whilst many of Lenin s theories and practices were continued under Stalin, many were in fact developed and extended to new levels, possibly reflecting different motives: what Pipes refers to as Stalin s personality of excesses . Although for many years, numerous historians including both members of the Western school of thought (such as Pipes), along with the official Soviet historians of the time believed that Stalin was the natural heir of Lenin, opinions have changed with time. As more evidence came out of Stalin s mass atrocities, the Soviet historians soon began to see Stalin as the betrayer of the revolution as Trotsky had always maintained, ... According to this view, had Lenin lived, these policies would probably have been reversed as political and economic stability was restored, and certainly would not have given rise to the mass extermination of millions of peasants and party members, which prevailed under Stalin in the 1930s. In scrutinising the actions of Stalin, I have examined especially how they differed from those of Lenin, and in what ways the motives for similar actions changed. One aspect of continuity is reflected in the control and influence that both Lenin and Stalin had over their parties. In 1921, Lenin effectively destroyed democracy in the party through his ban of factionalism. Although this was used to end the problem of splits (during the crisis of the same year), many see it as a key factor in allowing Stalin to rise to power. Stalin often accused people of factionalism (e.g. Trotsky, Zinoviev, Kamenev) as a response to any challenges to his authority. It also created a situation that allowed the party leadership to do what it wanted and dismiss any opposition. Pipes argues that as a result of this, the Bolsheviks were carefully coerced into always following Lenin s will, and that his policy of democratic centralism was merely a façade like many of the other ... The depressive symptoms were found more in women than men, although symptoms of depression during the prenatal period were also exhibited by the male partners. Throughout the 19th century women had slowly been gaining voting privileges, but only in areas considered to be within their spheres such as the vote for school boards, the vote for poor law boards and the vote for county councils. Traditionally many historians have argued that the main reason for the enfranchisement of women in 1918 was their work during world war one. This view is being disputed on multiple levels; some argue that the war itself called for a rearrangement of the whole electoral system. This caused public outrage and was seen to be completely unacceptable that young men were deemed ineligible to vote for the government of the country they had risked their lives fighting to protect. Bartley argues that due to the unjustness of this, the whole electoral system had to be rethought and this included women s rights. Although the war and women s efforts during the war were a significant factor in gaining the vote for women, the campaigning of the suffragist s has been argued to have been of more significance. The National Union of women s suffrage societies or the NUWSS aka the Suffragists was an association composed of mainly middle class women who were well educated and brought up believing in equal rights for women. The reason there were very few working class women in the NUWSS was because they were generally not supported by their husbands as working class men believed that women should remain below them and did not believe in equal rights. The leader of the NUWSS was Millicent Fawcett; a middle class woman, married to a lawyer and was brought up believing in equal rights. Although these receptors have been found in other parts of the body like liver9, smooth airway muscles of the lungs10, and several type of immune cells11,12, their main function comes in the nervous system, specifically neurons. The GABAA receptors located in the postsynaptic membrane are stimulated by GABA neurotransmitter released from the pre synaptic neurons and functions to inhibit neuronal stimulation in the short term (millisecond time range), while the extrasynaptic GABAA receptors are stimulated by ambient GABA in the extracellular space and confers long term inhibition.2 However, there are many types of GABAA receptors depending on the subunits that they are made up of ... Physical Therapists have the same aspirations; to improve the quality of life and make developmental progress with our deteriorating bodies. As people get older or fall victim to injuries, their bodies become damaged. The body is like a machine; there are levers (joints), pumps (heart), plumbing (vasculature), wiring (nerves), and many other mechanical affiliations that make the body work as a whole. It is an elaborate product to produce work, so when an injury or abnormality occurs, it prevents the full magnitude of work to be exerted. For example, each joint within the body has an average range of motion, ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 29. Chris Stapleton s Music Analysis Chris Stapleton released his debut album, Traveller, in the Spring of 2015. This album is characterized by what I would describe as a traditional country feel, but with a slightly more modern sound, or to be more technical, a country rock meets blues album. This record, and Chris Stapleton himself, went relatively unnoticed by the general public after initial release. It was not until the 2015 CMA awards when Stapleton performed Tennessee Whiskey with Justin Timberlake that his album truly took off (Welch). Since then, songs from Traveller can frequently be heard on national country radio stations, as well as on tour, a show I will be attending in May. The reason I chose to review Traveller is because Tennessee Whiskey sucker punched me in the best way possible. By this I mean that before I heard the song, I had been ignoring most new country music and artists because I had not been connecting with the music like I did in previous years. For the past seven years of my life I have been listening to almost exclusively rock and metal music, music ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Most of the time, Stapleton is singing with a strong, deep voice and at a slower pace, however he displays his range full force on tracks such as Might As Well Get Stoned and Sometimes I Cry. On Might As Well Get Stoned, Stapleton goes high in a broken manner, which would typically seem like a mistake, however the brokenness of the notes only adds to Stapleton s emotional delivery of the song. Sometimes I Cry is one of the most vocally profound country songs I have ever found. The first time I listened to it, I genuinely got chills as the whole song is such an experience. The vocals of this song are similar to Jackie Wilson s song Please Tell Me Why, as both are weeper style, though Stapleton s is a more subdued version of it. This song best exemplifies his range on Traveller as it is easy to tell that he puts everything into ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

The magnitude 9 quake (Oskin, 2015) triggered a devastating tsunami, killing thousands, damaging the country s infrastructure and paralyzing all private, public, and government entities. One of the businesses disrupted by the disaster was Nissan Motor Company LTD, a multinational auto manufacturer producing automobiles under the brand names of Nissan, Infiniti, and Datsun. This paper will discuss how Nissan s quick thinking Operations Management (OM) team responded to the crisis with rapid efficiency, helping it to capture a competitive advantage over other Japanese auto makers and succeed in its recovery from this monumental natural disaster. I. Generating Value A. Evaluate how the company (Nissan) in the case study uses operations management functions to provide products and generate value for its customers. • 31. How Did Ho Chi Minh Influence Vietnam Ho Chi Minh was the original leader of the Democratic Republic of Vietnam, which is now the Social Republic of Vietnam. He is well known for leading the Northern Vietnamese and National Liberation Front to battle against the South Vietnamese and Americans up until his death in 1969. Ho Chi Minh influenced world history by leading the first nation to completely defeat the United States, take control of Vietnam and defeat international colonialism, and also unite the Vietnamese people under a new blend of Nationalism and Communism. Under Ho Chi Minh, Vietnam was able to defeat the colonial powers of France and Japan, and establish their own nation. In September 1945, Ho declared independence for the Democratic Republic of Vietnam. This was appropriate ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... The Vietnamese were being forced to work for the French, however they never received wages for their work. In addition, the French heavily taxed the Vietnamese, which unnecessarily made the Vietnamese poorer than they needed to be. The final important immorality which the French bestowed upon the Vietnamese is no true control over their own people, with the French controlling all of the political regimes in the north, south, and central sections of Vietnam. Notwithstanding, there is also the major atrocities of the Japanese, which contributed to even more persecution of the Vietnamese people. Once the France became absorbed by Germany during World War II, Japan took control of Vietnam, which was known at this point as Indochina. The Japanese took most of Vietnam s resources, with over two million Northern Vietnamese people dying due to starvation. With this all in mind, the fact that Vietnam was able to declare independence is somewhat mind numbing, because it did not appear that the Vietnamese could handle possibly fighting the French, the Japanese, or other Western nations in arms. With Japan s defeat in World War II in 1945, Ho seized the opportunity and let it known to the world that Vietnam would be a free and ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 32. Why You Want Your Crowdfunding Campaign Be Realistic If You Want Your Crowdfunding Campaign to Be a Hit Like any great food dish, a successful crowdfunding campaign requires the right mix of ingredients. And just as a chef wouldn t expect one three egg omelete to satiate an entire night s worth of diners, a half baked crowdfunding campaign is unlikely to lead to a windfall of millions of dollars in cash. To start determining the right amount or a realistic amount to try to raise in a crowdfunding campaign, an entrepreneur needs to first determine what type of crowdfunding they want to pursue. Two of the more popular types are rewards based and equity crowdfunding, but these two styles have significant differences. Let s be clear... Reward and investment based ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... These types of crowdfunding are still quite new so the data is limited, but for those raising money from ordinary investors using the $1 million cap, the average business has raised about $700,000, according to Entrepreneur. Prior to these allowances for equity crowdfunding, only wealthy investors were able to contribute to these types of campaigns, which averaged a little over $400,000 per company, according to a September 2015 article from Crowd101. Serving a Treat with Rewards Based Crowdfunding Rewards based crowdfunding offers an alluring alternative to equity crowdfunding because entrepreneurs can hold onto their ownership stakes and offer contributors a reward instead. These rewards could be anything to entice donors, such as providing the full product itself or offering a small giveaway like a t shirt. While this type of crowdfunding may sound sweeter, it could be more difficult to use this method as the main source of capital. On rewards based crowdfunding site Kickstarter, for example, the average campaign has raised a little over $8100 dollars, and the success rate is only 36%, meaning those that don t reach their funding goal don t receive the capital. For those that did meet their goal, the average campaign raised just over $20,000, which is certainly a step up but still below the levels of equity crowdfunding campaigns. And ... • 33. The Importance Of Snow In Books It has been the coldest weather since 1885. Jem had seen snow before in books but never in real life, unlike Scout, who saw the snow and thought the sky was falling. I honestly think Scout was horrified, just imagine at her age, who hasn t seen snow at all, walking outside to the cold weather and bits of sky falling all around you. Jem however, must have loved it, seeing snow in books and now getting to actually experience it. They decide to make a snowman, but since it s Maycomb it didn t snow much, so they had to compromise. Jem used dirt as a substitute for the lack of snow. At first, Scout thought they were making a nigger snowman but then Jem told her his idea of making a dirt snowman then putting snow on top of the dirt to make it ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 34. My Community Is The Best For The Most My community is anyone who identifies as Mexican/Latino(a)/Chicano(a). I choose this community because I believe there are issues that need to be addressed with the way Latinos are portrayed in society. Right now, due to the media, if someone says illegal immigrants a person automatically thinks about someone from Mexico. I believe this is a problem because it causes Mexicans to have a negative stereotype, which often times include anyone who looks Mexican. After reading Rules for Radicals I have learned that I need to start seeing the world how it is not were I want it to be before (Alinsky 12). Alinsky defines ethics as doing what is best for the most (Alinsky 33). Since it is in the best interest for my community to not have such a negative stereotype I plan to address this issue by educating individuals on different issues that reinforce negative stereotypes such as calling an individual an illegal immigrant. I believe this is important because no person can actually be illegal and using the term alien to identify someones documented status is a form of dehumanization. I would also share different forms to view Donald Trumps position on undocumented immigrants in order to ease tension and share how his position is not very logical. My goal is for society, from the United States, to no longer think of Mexicans as illegal immigrants, but rather refer to people who are here with out residency as undocumented. I would also like if the world thought of everyone as ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 35. The Pros And Cons Of The Salem Witchcraft Trials The Massachusetts Salem witch craft trials, this was a complicated time in history. With the conflict of the hangings, Salem didn t have the best compromise. At a time in history when the government didn t give Puritans religious rights, the Salem Massachusetts witch craft trials began. This conflict led to trails where the government convicted men and woman of practicing witch craft, thus being hanged. Though this compromise stopped the witchcraft practicing, the government realized those men and woman were wrongly convicted later on. Today the government understands to let all civilians practice any religion they choose in our first amendment right. In the early Fifteenth century, a panic flew across Europe. Resulting ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... The emphasis on satanic influence and belief in the inferiority of women as conduits of evil made Puritan communities particularly vulnerable to the hysteria that was constantly inflamed by the dangerous and uncertain conditions of colonial life. The community atmosphere of seventeenth century Massachusetts was one of isolationism, paranoia, and repression. Modern historians have discerned a pattern of crisis and subsequent hysteria among the Puritan villages. Communities in colonial Massachusetts were extremely vulnerable to famine, attacks from neighboring Indian tribes, epidemics, and general economic hardship. Communities would generally band together during these times of crisis, but as soon as the crisis had passed, they would vent their tension and fear by lashing out at neighbors with accusations of witchcraft as the underlying cause of the crisis. People from Europe began coming to the U.S to have their religious freedom. In 1691, the new rulers of England, Mary and William, created a new religious charter, instead of reissuing the old charter, and also combined the Massachusetts, Plymouth Colony and several other colonies into one. The new charter and regime basically continued the policies of the Dominion of New England. The puritans, who had left England due to religious persecution, feared their ...
