Feminism In Shashi Deshpande
Shashi Deshpande is a known name in the world of Literature today. She writes about the Indian
soil, spreading its fragrance all over the world. Writing on Indian womanhood, she does not
personalise incidents or situations. Her aim is to enlighten women folk to stand for their own rights.
It is note worthy that the women are the sufferers and then, they are oppressors also. Works have
been done on the poor plight of women, especially in India but it has been a tedious task to mark
out the traces of women dominion in Deshpande novels. The artistic beauty of the author lies in
being able to project both sides of the coin. She has never been defensive about womanhood,
although a male writer is acclaimed as a writer whereas if a woman attempts to write, she is tagged
as feminist. When a man writes of the ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Shashi Deshpande is hailed because she has an infinite aptitude to sketch the other side of
womanhood too the darker, the oppressor, the matriarch woman.
Saru s mother in The Dark Holds No Terrors keeps dominating her from the beginning but when
her brother Dhruva is drowned she becomes furious. Saru had only been a child. Her fault was that
she was a girl child. Saru s mother goes to the extent of telling her, Why didn t you die? Why are
you alive, when he s dead? (The Dark Holds No Terrors 191)
Beyond imagination, a mother can be such impudent with her own child just because she is a
female child. A mother wishing her daughter dead can be the crudest form of patriarchy supported
by women. These words get carved so deep inside her mind that Saru becomes a rebel against her
mother. Not only this, she could not develop the rationale of judgement and decision making being
suppressed always. Moreover, the guidance of her mother could have helped her but neither her
mother bothered nor she cared for the

Synthesis Procedure 1
1.0 Introduction A Cobalt Amine Halide compound is synthesized from cobalt (II) chloride
hexahydrate. An orange tinted solid is produced and is considered to be unknown since the specific
ligand amounts are unknown. By determining the percent composition of various elements and
compounds in the unknown, its true identity can be predicted. Chloride, ammonia, and cobalt are
three examples of percent compositions determined to help narrow the selection of possible
unknowns. Titrations using Na2S2O3 and HCl to determine percent cobalt and ammonia,
respectively, are used. Silver nitrate is used to precipitate the chloride ions in the unknown, which
can be measured to determine the percent composition of chloride ... Show more content on

KIO3 is added to an HCl and KI solution containing excess KI and I ions. KIO3 acts as a primary
standard and reacts to produce I2, which can then be reacted with the Na2S2O3. The yellow

to the slightly titrated yellow colored solution to help easily see the endpoint. The liberated I2
needed about 31.49mL of Na2S2O3 solution during the titration to reach the endpoint. The molarity
of Na2S2O3 used for the titration is found to be .10270M with .159% deviation (Table 5).

What Are Approved Codes Of Practice
Task 1 Discuss the use of approved codes of practice to ensure compliance with health and safety
legislation (P1) Approved Codes of Practice (ACOPs) пѓјCodes of Practice give detailed practical
guidance on how to comply with requirements and obligations under work health and safety laws.
They are used in addition to the Act and Regulations and should always be followed, unless there is
another solution which achieves the same or a better standard of health and safety in your
workplace пѓјApproved Codes of Practice can supplement Acts and Regulations; failure to
comply with Approved Codes of Practice is not an offence in itself if compliance can be achieved
by some equally good practice. пѓјApproved codes of practice do not necessarily provide the only
way of complying with the Act, they offer an accepted way. They form part of the current state of

Approved codes are, therefore, admissible in court by either the prosecution or defenses as
evidence of good practice but the reliance placed on them is a matter of discretion for the judge.
Legislation пѓјLegislation the Health and Safety at Work etc. Act 1974 (HASWA) covers all
employment activities apart from domestic premises. The Act is known as an enabling Act , which
means that other legislation can be made under it. The framework of legislation is based on Acts
of Parliament being passed and Codes of Practice and Guidance being made under these to explain,
in greater detail, the requirements of the Act itself. пѓјThe Health and Safety in Employment Act
does not specify how particular hazards should be made safe, rather it allows for workplaces to
find alternative ways ensure that their hazards do not cause harm. The practices contained in
approved codes of practice are recommended are acceptable ways to prevent harming in particular
situations.

Online MBA Programs versus On site Programs With unemployment rates at an all time high
combined with the increasing costs associated with traditional brick and mortar schools, online
education is by far one of the fastest growing and thriving industries. As younger students are
attempting to pursue traditional higher education, they are realizing that the costs are not only
increasing daily, but the programs are longer in duration and often not a better education than the
online line programs. Those who have lost their jobs and need an edge over other unemployed
candidates are finding that a B.A ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Where as our initial marketing plan was very narrow, the market has since completely opened up
and we now are in a position expand our offerings to larger audience. We will propose to re brand
and redirect our SDHE as to appeal to a much broader demographic segment. The ultimate goal is
to convince potential students that SDHE is a viable higher education institution that exceeds the
offerings of our competitors while maintaining a lower cost for an MBA degree. Our niche is that
we are in fact a smaller institution and can therefore offer a more customized program in which
students do not feel as though they are just a source of revenue for our company; they will feel as
though they are receiving critical and accessible services that they will not receive from the larger
institutions.

Critical Issue 3 What information should Scott Sklar have available to help him arrive at a
demand forecast for a particular style of men s shirt that is a new catalog item? Alternative 1
Mr. Sklar will need all the rankings of the various shirts for the particular book this new shirt will
be included in. There will need to be a meeting held to discuss where they believe this new item
will fall within the other assigned shirt rankings while eliminating preconceived notions and
rules of thumb. If this new product is similar to another shirt style then careful consideration
needs to be taken to account for any steal in demand that this new shirt will have on any other
lines L.L. Bean currently offers. Alternative 2 If this new shirt is believed to be a unique item
and will have its own demand absent from the other products offered then a more separate
forecast of sales is needed. The next conceivable step would be to develop a unit sales projection
by forecasting unit sales per month. The use of the most recent past data available from a new
catalogue item will be the most beneficial in helping this statistical analysis in forecasting sales.

Devil Wears Prada Comparison Essay
Everything begins with an idea. But, can we make this idea better? If we add a little sparkle
there and some sequins there, will it be better? The same concept applies to books and film
adaptations of such books. Hollywood feels responsible for making these movies extravagant and
bringing the wow factor . Often times we forget that these movies are based on books, that contain
the raw and limitless thoughts of authors. But, is the book always better than the movie? While
comparing The Devil Wears Pradawritten by Lauren Weisberger, 2003 and the film adaptation The
Devil Wears Pradascreenplay by Aline Brosh McKenna, 2006, these concepts are explored. In The
Devil Wears Prada , we are introduced to the protagonist Andrea Sachs, an... Show more content on

If it has the same title surely it can t be a different story, right? The movie should be respectful
and pay homage to the original work. Funnily enough, after reading the book and watching the
movie, they could not be more different. There may be people who agree with my opinions, but
there may be people who are fans of the actors from the movie, fans of the author or people that
like to complain about Hollywood, who would like to see how details were manipulated in the
movie versus in the book.
The parallel I am choosing to compare and contrast for plot development is the scene where
Andrea quits her job. In the book, Andrea and Miranda are on their way to a fashion show when
Miranda tells Andrea, she reminds her of herself when she was younger, Andrea is rendered
speechless. When they are at the event, Andrea steps outside to take a smoke when Miranda
starts to bombard her phone. Andrea rushes back and Miranda mocks Andrea s incompetence.
Andrea cusses Miranda out and walks out of the fashion show. Ahn dre ah, you realize what you
re doing, do you not? You know that if you simply leave here like this, I m going to be forced
[Miranda] Fuck you, Miranda. Fuck you. [Andrea]. She gasped audibly while her hand flew to her
mouth in shock... (Weisberger, pg.342) This quote shows how fed up Andrea was, since she
essentially tainted her name in the writing world. In the movie, everything starts the same way as in
the book until the point where

VygotskyВґs Zone Proximal Development Essay
Vygotsky has had a profound impact on developmental psychology. One of his main contributions
was the idea of zone proximal development. He places emphasis the shaping of cognitive
development. He is one of the first in children development that emphasized on cultural context. I
have chosen his theory and what it entails for this paper because its very interesting and some
certain parts of his theory like scaffolding and the zone proximal development were relatable to
my experience at my field site. This theorist believed that our minds, cognition, and psychological
abilities could be development with mental tools as much our physical tools expand our physical

They get a chance to interact with other students and children. Children make friends and can
start to develop social relationships. Students can get the attention they need that they don t get
at home or maybe from teachers at afterschool programs. The programs provide a positive
surrounding for students to be. Social environments do have an effect on them. It can be
positive or negative, so it s important that where they decide to be is going to have an optimistic
and profound effect on children. As a service learner, I learned that by just being around and
being there with them weekly is giving them a positive social environment that they might not get
at home or the neighborhood they reside. Also the afterschool program allows them to keep
friendships and permit them to flourish. The Zone of Proximal Development (ZPD) another part
of Vygotsky theory is applied a lot in classrooms by teachers. By definition it is the difference
between what a learner can do without help and what he or she can do with help. Apart of that is a
concept called scaffolding, which helps us understand how aiming coaching within a students/child
s ZPD can stimulate and increase knowledge and development. Although this theory is practiced
predominantly in the classroom, us service learners can attempt to use it as well. For example a
student at my field site asked me for help with an assignment she was given by her teacher. She

Social Insanity In Medieval Europe
Insanity in medieval Europe can be classified according to social and religious violations. Insane
was one of the worst labels a man could get during the time of knights. By being labeled a
madman, a respected man could become lower than trash. Whether labeled insane due to
strangeness or for religious beliefs that differed from the norm, the fact remains that these
individuals were all outcasts from society.
Social Insanity
Definition
Insanity, in medieval Europe in the context of social violations, is the condition in which a man
or woman acts in a manner deemed outrageous or illogical by the common man. By being labeled
insane, a person would be lowered to the equivalent status level of an unreliable drunk. Thus
businesses could be crushed and lives ruined if your actions were considered as too strange by the
public.
Treatment
The so called cure of the time for social insanity was isolation, a process by which the potential
lunatic is locked up on their own until the patient either shows improvement or dies. When it came
to curing the patient, isolation sometimes worked, but it depended on the degree of infliction. In
some cases, a patient who wasn t actually insane was driven insane by the solitude instead of being
cured by it. Legally, the patient s land would typically be given to ... Show more content on

During the Middle Ages Europe had a society dominated by religion, specifically Christianity.
This extreme case of following doctrine also led to a new definition of insanity. Many thought
that those who had refused the forgiving power of God must surely be mad. It was believed that
when someone acted in accordance with the church, it was because of their God given soul;
however, if they did not, it was believed something had happened to their soul. (Tyrell 1) At least,

Global Expansion
WFM is trying to develop a strategic plan to grow their business in an extremely competitive
market. They are searching for ways to sustain their strong financial and cultural capabilities
without losing revenue. Societal trends are shifting towards a healthier and environmental lifestyle,
which is substantially affecting the foodretail industry. To keep up with these societal trends,
grocery stores are incorporating organic and healthier food products into the stores. This poses as a
threat towards WFM, as their value proposition is substantially losing its worth. WFM must assess
the company from an internal and external perspective in order to determine if expanding their
locations into Canada will be worthwhile. There is a variety of risks that the company must assess
prior to implementation. If WFM decides to expand through a slow process, there is a possibility of
their competition dominating the industry. In addition, WFM must understand that this expansion
will require extensive capital and a new logistic/distribution strategy. The plan that WFM decides to
instill must keep their current organizational culture consistent. WFM has been named America s

uncertainty amongst consumers. FCPP requirements have ensured that companies do not commit

Essay about It s Time to Reform the Endangered Species Act
It s Time to Reform the Endangered Species Act
In 1973, Congress passed the Endangered Species Act. The Act was passed in response to findings
by Congress that growth and development were responsible for the extinction of species of fish,
wildlife and plants.
This Act was to provide programs to protect species identified as either endangered or threatened. It
also mandated Federal agencies and departments to protect endangered and threatened species in
their own operations, as well as work with State and local agencies to further promote conservation
and protection of identified species.
By the definition of the Endangered Species Act, a species covered by the legislation is either

They felt Recovery plans all too often manage for extinction rather than for survival .
The National Wildlife Institute has published Conservation Under the Endangered Species Act: A
Promise Broken . Their critique of the Act includes questioning the programs undertaken as a
result of the Act have played sufficient roles in the recovery of species that were delisted, as well
as questioning the allocation of funding to programs intended to aid listed species.
The National Endangered Species Act Reform Coalition is questioning the effectiveness of the
Act, as well as its impact on people. Pointing to the poor progress of removing species from the
Endangered and Threatened lists, the group calls on reform of the Act, to reform the methods for
determining eligibility for listing, opening the listing and regulatory processes of the Act to include
participation from all groups affected by the legislation, and providing more incentives for private
citizens and businesses to pro actively participate in conservation of listed species.
MY OPINION
While well intended, the Act has some shortcomings, as indicated by the lack of progress in getting
species off the list. This indicates that the programs that are part of the Act are failing to accomplish
their mandated objective.
Also, while biodiversity is crucial to protect, there are natural processes

The Family Tree Sparknotes
The Family Tree, by Carole Cadwalledr, is a novel that attempts to overcome the patriarchal
control of society by focusing on the matrilineal line of family history and genetics. The
pervasive male bias in literature leads readers to equate the experience of a good life with the
experience of being male. This misrepresentation of women s lives produce a partial and distorted
understanding of culture and society; which serves to obfuscate relations of power and reinforce
the devaluation of women s roles and contributions. Cadwalledr s feminine model of development,
based on the experiences of women within this novel, stands as a direct testimony of the rigid
constrictions of the patriarchal society in which they live. Women have long been... Show more

This model defines gender as social understandings of how males and females should behave
within society s specific constraints. The ideology of gender is a social construct that changes
with the societal views most vividly expressed through the opposing beliefs and values of
Doreen and her sister, Suzanne. As Doreen watches the first female prime minister get elected,
she utters, A lady prime minister! Who ever would have thought it? Of course it s the children I
feel sorry for. She also expresses this strong belief against women working by commenting on
the new female deputy head: It s not right. Imagine taking food out of the mouths of children like
that! They should have given it to a breadwinner! Doreen exemplifies the typical housewife
throughout this entire novel, clearly shown through this quote: There was no shortage of house
proud housewives in Beech Drive but my mother was, arguable, the proudest of them all. Her
kitchen floor really was clean enough to eat your dinner off. As Rebecca reflects on a camping
trip her family took as a child, she comments on the gender roles her family executes: It might

Voter Turnout In The United States
Voter participation and turnout is the percentage of eligible voters that vote in elections. The voter
turnout has decreased since the 1960 s. In 2014, the voter turnout during the election season was
the lowest in the history of the United States. That s about 36% of registered to vote individuals

Presidential electionstend to have a much higher voter participation. In 2012, 58% of registered

In the United States, campaign financing is financing for electoral campaigns at all governmental
levels (federal, state, and local). The cost for elections steadily rises year after year, making
candidates obligated to accept donations and contributions to their campaign. States regulate
finances and contributions made by setting limits to how much can be received by a certain group

Cost effectiveness of a new technique for a Common surgical procedure
In this present era of technological revolution, a scientific breakthrough or an advancement is a

they are accountable for, without compromising highest levels of patient management, safety and

Taking a Look at Hinduism
Many religions offer an exact path to the afterlife; illuminated by various rules and regulations that
one must follow to reach enlightenment. Hinduism, on the other hand, is much more complex,
offering multiple ways to achieve moksha and providing many answers to the ancient question of
what happens after we die? Many people think that Hindus believe in many deities, but the Hindu
concept of Godis much broader than that. In fact, Hinduismitself encompasses much more than just
one specific set of religious beliefs. While some Hindus believe that God is a divine being with
certain identifiable attributes, others believe that God cannot be defined and is an all pervading
being that extends beyond everything. Although some beliefs differ, the majority of Hindus see
the concept of God in multiple ways. Among these are the concepts of God as one and many,
God and the soul, God as sound, God as image, God in nature, cows, and avatara. One of
Hinduism s most distinguishing features is the concept of multiple gods. These multiple gods are
manifestations of the various powers of the divine. Hindus believe that the all pervasive God is
both one and many. Because this concept carries the idea of God as an omnipresent being,
everything can be seen as being God s form. Hindus worship many Gods, but they also believe that
the divine is singular or one. These Gods are representations of different aspects of the overall God.
Although their worship of multiple

November 16, 2015 Effects of being in foster care on children and adolescents Being in foster
care can either have a positive effect on someone or it could have a very negative effect on
someone. In my case, it not only had a positive effect but it also had some downfalls. Most often
times children/adolescents are placed in foster care because it is a safer environment for them to
live in. Foster care is positive in many ways. They are positive in being it can give children and
adolescents a safer home/environment to live in, it can stabilize the adolescent/child, and it can
give the individual a more positive look on life. Although foster care can have many positive
effects on an individual it can also have many negative effects. Foster care and being removed
from the place the child grew up in can cause attachment issues, mental health issues, eating
disorders, it can cause a child to become depressed and become more prone to drugs and alcohol,

Tapestry
Reflections of the world and its issues can be found in the strangest of places. Take a quilt for
example, a quilt creates a beautiful pattern using colorful pieces of fabric. While the pieces do
touch, the vibrant colors are forever separated by a boundary, sentenced never to intertwine.
However, if one were to direct their attention to the similar, yet different masterpiece known as a
tapestry, another analogy will present itself. A tapestry is a story retold not with words, but with
strings colorful thread woven together. Although the quilt is beautiful and it s own way, it s a
mediocre compared to a tapestry. A tapestry demands hours of work and patience produce the its

In this world, all languages and dialects will be taken and woven together to produce a picture
that s beauty is on a scale never before seen. It is my firm belief that to achieve this world of
beauty, people in every corner of the Earth should push for the study of foreign language to be set in
the mandatory curriculum for all students. The statement The children are our future, is not just
for Whitney Houston songs, it s an accurate statement that should be kept in mind when making
choices on a child s behalf, so when it comes time for the decision of mandatory education topics,
I request that foreign language be added to the list. The study of a foreign language is necessary
to a juvenile as math or science. Not only will this study vastly improve a child s knowledge of
language and culture, but it will benefit them in many other subjects as well. For example,
bilingualism can offer a helping hand in developing and strengthening a child s long term learning
skills. These skills will follow a child throughout their school years and into the rest of their life.
This benefit is due to the fact that when studying another dialect a great amount of memorization is
needed for a child s brain to fully absorb the knowledge and become fluent in a language

Burmese Pythons Problems
Burmese pythons are an invading species that are causing problems to the local animal
population, the local ecosystems, and the people in the area of Florida s Everglades. These
snakes are one of the biggest snakes in the world and grow up to be twenty three feet long and
weigh up to two hundred pounds. They are able to hunt in the dark due to the chemical receptors
on their tongues and heat sensors all over their jaw. This is bad for humans, as we cannot see very
well in the dark. This can cause the snake to see us, but us not be able to see them. Without natural
predators, these animals are lean, mean killing machines that can destroy many populations of
animals and stand as a threat to humans.
An invasive species is a species that comes out of its natural environment, and enters another. These
animals are usually very bad for the ecosystem and may cause an unbalance. These animals usually
come in with many competitive advantages and can easily dominate any competition. This will
give them the ability to eat as much as they would like without being threatened in any way. This
could possibly diminish many populations and end an entire ecosystem.
These Burmese Pythons cause problems to three main elements. One main problem that the
Burmese Pythons are causing is a decrease in the local animal populations. These animals have not

The Genre Of Romantic Comedy
The genre of romantic comedy has been successful throughout history. Men and women alike
watch these films for several reasons, even though they are predictable. Whether it s for the
comedy portrayed, or the love story itself, romantic comedies provide aspects of a story that
almost anyone can appreciate. Over time, people began to argue that contemporary romantic
comedies have depreciated, but this does not hold true. When comparing Judd Apatow s
Knocked Up (2007), which is about a stoner low life, played by Seth Rogan, who knocks up co
star, Katherine Heigl, who plays Allison, to George Cukor s Adam s Rib (1949), which tells the
story of two attorneys bickering over their shared court case, there is a radical difference between
the two films in their sheer content to portray a love story while sharing the common romantic
comedyplot, but one tells a superior love story.
The first notable difference between these films is the kind of humor utilized to articulate the
story. According to David Denby, Knocked Up s humor is vulgar and unnecessary, but the humor
in this film is not unnecessary. The Knocked Up no doubt contains extremely inappropriate and
offensive humor compared to Adam s Rib, but comedy has evolved in response to a changing
society. As written by George Gerbner in Common Culture, (certain things were not allowed on
screen). Comedy in Adam s Rib consisted of slapstick humor associated with the good ol times of
the late 40 s and 50 s. The audience witnesses

harm in some individuals. Harm can caused in various ways, including worse or more symptoms

author notes that as mental health professionals, it is critical for patients wellbeing that the field
actively challenges the idea that doing something is always better than doing nothing in therapy,

I found this to link well with the article, specifically when the article discusses client variables and
ways that individual differences can change the effectiveness or harm that a specific treatment
brings about. As different countries look at which treatments are helpful or harmful for patients in
that area, it would be interesting to see the differences that individuals have, and whether that
causes a treatment to be helpful in the treatment of a certain disorder in one country, while actually
causing harm to people with the same disorder in other parts of the world. It is crucial for
psychologists to remember that cultural differences can have large and sprawling effects, and that
this can change how patients will react to a given treatment. It is encouraging that many countries
have already adopted guidelines to determine which treatments can and cannot be administered, and
it is also reassuring that each country looks at the treatments separately. This is helping to ensure
that clients in all areas of the world have the best care possible, while taking into account individual

correctly functions by the blood first entering through the right atrium from the superior and

ventricle. The right ventricle contracts forcing the pulmonary valve to open leading blood flow
through the pulmonary valve and into the pulmonary trunk. Blood is then distributed from the right

EKG lab testing I used the following materials: BIOPAC electrode lead set (SS2L), BIOPAC
disposable vinyl electrodes (EL503), Cot, BIOPAC electrodes, Computer Sytem, BIOPAC
Student Lab software v3.0 or greater, and BIOPAC acquisition unit (MP30). When all these
materials are available the computer was turned on and three of the electrodes were placed on
the body of my teammate. Two electrodes were positioned on the medial surface of each leg just
above the ankle, and the last electrode was on the right anterior forearm at her wrist. When these
were attached the subject was asked to lie down on the cot and relax. We then attached her to the
EKG machine with three colored cables. The white cable was placed on the electrode on the
right forearm, the black cable was placed on right leg and the red cable was attached to the
electrode on the left leg. Once the patient was correctly hooked up to the EKG the BIOPAC
Student Lab Program was started. Lesson five is the one we used for this experiment and once
it had been chosen we label it and started the experiment. There were four conditions we needed

Most U.S. citizens vote because they believe that their vote will make a difference and because
they believe that they have an equal vote. However, this isn t the case with the Electoral College
system. With this system, it is possible for a candidate who receives less popular votes to win the
election. In fact, these types of scenarios have occurred in the United Stateswhere the candidate
wins the popular vote, but still manages to lose the entire election because they received fewer
electoral votes. Therefore, our votes would all matter and actually make a difference if there wasn

This undemocratic result fired many citizens wish of reforming and even eliminating the Electoral
College. Therefore, this current system of the Electoral College is in need of a reform because
there are many dangers attached. For instance, the current system allows for the House of
Representatives to choose the winner of the election if no candidate receives a majority vote. In
addition, if electors fail to vote in agreement with other voters and the current allocation of electoral
votes, the candidate without the majority vote of the citizens can win the election. On the whole,
the Electoral College is an undemocratic system that that violates our belief that we can all make a
difference by voting.
At the time of its creation, the framers of the Constitution believed that an election based purely
on popularity was hasty, while others protested on giving Congress full power to select the next
president and vice president. Altogether, the Electoral College was set up to allow voters to vote
for electors, who would then cast their votes for candidates, as described in Article 2 of the U.S.
Constitution. However, battleground state citizens are showered with more attention from the
presidential candidates. On the other hand, if you live in a red or blue state, you are out of luck.

Code Talkers Chapter Summary
Code Talkers was written by Chester Nez with the help of Judith Schiess Avila. Chester Nez, a
Navajo WWII veteran, was one of the original twenty nine Native Americans who came up with
and wrote the top secret Navajo code used during the World War II. This code was a turning point
in the war against the Japanese. Judith Avila is a cod talker scholar with the New Mexico
Endowment for the Humanities Chautauqua Program, she conducted over eighty hours with
Chester and his son Michael.
The beginning of the book starts off with Chester s early childhood on the reservation. During
the 1920 s life on the Checkerboard Area of the Navajo Reservation was not an easy life for
anyone to grow up on. There was no plumbing, electricity, modern housing nor any cars and the
winters were harsh and summers long and hot. However, the mesas had its own beauty and it
offered plenty of land great for raising sheep and goats and the land was ideal for the Navajo people
to celebrate and keep in contact with their spiritual connects to nature. Chester treasured his
memory growing up there and described how in his early childhood he would follow his family
around the reservation tending to their flock of sheep and goats. He never had a worry in the
world and took ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

created a code using what once got him beat if he spoke it changed how I view the way. Being
about to see it though the eye of Chester has put the war in color for me and I have so much
more respect for that part of history and it has made me more appreciative of what I use to take for
granted. I would recommend it to

The salary of lawyers varies depending on the field they work in (court, private firm). Lawyers that
opened their own firms often make less money than those who are partners in a law firm. The
biggest parts of life the salary depends on are: education, experience, level of responsibility and
degree of specializations. Lawyer salaries range from very low all the way up to several hundred
thousand dollars a year. Some lawyers can make up to $700,000 a year. As you can see above,

of good U.S. universities to go to are Yale, Harvard, and Stanford. These are the three universities I
will choose from if I actually decide to be a lawyer.

In his comparison he has shown how the adults are so like these children running to and fro

The first and the foremost satire is on civilization. In this era of moving forward with civilization

Advantages And Disadvantages Of Sealed Bidding By Procurement
Procurement by public entities is guided by primary law principles of transparency, equal
treatment and non discrimination, procurement laws sets up an extensive legal framework
regarding the procurement of work, supply and service contracts. There are two main reasons for
the use of specific procedures i.e. why contracting authorities do not just negotiate or simply buy
from the closest supplier. First, it provides for more public accountability and therefore less cases
of corruption practices. Additionally, tendering procedures aim to ensure the best value for money
by making it necessary for suppliers to act highly competitive. As a result, market mechanisms will
help in facilitating the best possible practices. In situations where market mechanisms are not
effective, tender procedures might lose their effectiveness as well. If for example there is lack of
competition due to certain complexities or as a result of lower bidder interest, negotiations with
just one or two suppliers may be the most efficient manner to handle the process. Therefore, we
discuss the inherent advantages and disadvantages of sealed biddingand contracting by negotiation
as procedural frameworks for tendering.

Sealed bidding is a procurement method used when the best value is expected to result from the
selection of the lowest evaluated offer. Generally competitive sealed bidding are used to procure

Kingdom Of God Research Paper
What is the meaning of the term kingdom of God?
The Kingdom of God is one of the key components of the teachings of Jesus in the New Testament.
Drawing on Old Testament teachings, the Christian characterization of the relationship in the
middle of God and humankind innately includes the thought of the Kingship of God. The Old
Testament alludes to God as the Judge of all and the idea that all people will in the long run be
judged is a key component of Christian teachings.
What are the traditional facts about God?
God is regularly considered as the Supreme Being and essential object of faith. He is the maker
and sustainer of the universe, while in deism, He is the inventor, however not the sustainer, of the
universe. Monotheism is the confidence in the presence of one God or in the unity of Him. In
polytheism, He is the universe itself. In godlessness, He is indicated not to exist, while esteemed
obscure or mysterious inside the connection of skepticism. He has additionally been considered as
being spiritual, an individual being, the wellspring of all ethical commitment, and the best possible
existent . Numerous prominent medieval thinkers and cutting edge scholars have created
contentions for and against the presence of God.

Factors Influencing Consumer Behaviour towards Store Brands
In the article Factor influencing consumer behaviour towards store brands: Evidence for the French
market , Mbaye Fall Diallo, Jean Louis Chandon, GeВґrard Cliquet, Jean Philippe (2013), the main
aims for this research is to examine the factors of store brands purchase behaviour on consumer,
image factors and store familiarity.
The French market has been chosen in this research because it is convenience and the fast
developing of store brands itself. Several factors that motivates consumer to purchase store brands
(SB) product are socio demographic factors, which is including gender, age, household income and
the number of children in the household. According to Burton et al (1998) and Martinez and
Montaner (2008), research that showed family capacity and income has become a strong element of
store brand purchase behaviour. Economic factors are in touch to the economic cycle whilst
psychographic factors consist of value consciousness, self smart shopper perceptions and so forth.
Based on chapter one I learned in class, the marketing concept were divided into four concepts
which are consumer research, segmentation, market targeting and positioning. The authors goes on
with research using structural equation modelling and finalize ANOVA and MANOVA analysis to
proof the outcome of store familiarity on store brands purchase behaviour.
The process of dividing the market into subsets of consumer needs and characteristics is called
segmentation. These processes are based on

guaranteeing the free flow of Middle Eastern oil to Western Europe, supporting Arab nationalism
and Israeli independence, improving relationships with the Arab states, hastening the decline of
European empires, maintaining the solidarity of the Western alliance, and avoiding an arms race
between Israel and its Arab neighbors, with the United States and Russia the principal arms
suppliers (Ambrose 328 329). The President s commitment to these goals of maintaining
relationships and containing communism accounts for many of the trends that would characterize
Eisenhower s conduct in the Middle East. Among these trends were: Eisenhower s reliance on
frequent but informal consultations with a small number of appointees; his tendency to try and
delay the inevitable for as long as possible as to allow for planning; his hesitation towards nearly
any action, whether it be to take action or to cease taking action; his encouragement for vagueness
and secrecy pertaining to the Crisis; and finally, his ability to firmly and effectively communicate
his full executive power. Eisenhower s

Folk Music Of Bulgaria
Folk dance Music of Bulgaria
Bulgaria is a relatively small country but it contains a wide diversity of folk dance styles. I
believe this is the main reason why Bulgarian dances are so popular among international folk
dancers. Bulgaria is located in south eastern Europe and surrounded by Romania, Serbia,
Macedonia, Greece and Turkey. First, we will have a brief introduction of Bulgariaand its folklore
regions, then will introduce some folk instruments and describe each folklore region one by one.
Bulgaria has a population of 7.4 million people and occupied around 42,800 square meter. Back to
1218, it was one of the largest country in Europe under Ivan Asen II which named the second
Bulgarian Empire. However, the decline of the Empire ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

Dobrudja region
It covers the northeastern part of Bulgaria. Dorbrujans usually dance with their knee bent and
backs hollow. Their dances and music show the hard living for a farmer who has to fight with the
nature. The group dancers usually have their hands joined cross in front, in belt hold. Ruka, which
means hands, is one of the characteristics dances in this area. The second video is the performance
of the rachenitsa, which is the national dance of Bulgaria. The rhythmic structure is 7/8 while the
style varies across regions. In Dobrudja, they emphasis on arm movement with stamping foot.
Colorful women s head scarves and aprons are typical in this region.

Mozart s Requiem At The Seattle Symphony
Every time I hear about famous composers, like Bach or Mozart, the names themselves put me to
sleep quicker than any anesthesia ever could. So, it was no surprise that I absolutely dreaded the
idea of seeing a piece written by any of these composers. I attended Mozart s requiem at the
Seattle symphony, I grunted at the idea of paying $38 for something I wasn t even interested in.
How dare they charge an absurd amount for something that was written before time itself? I took
my seat and looked out at the sea of older retired couples and couldn t believe this would be my
fate someday. Ludovic Morlot was conducting for the evening, I have never heard the name in my
life and only learned of it from the magazine I was handed before taking my seat. Morlot is French
born musician, and currently the musicdirector for the Seattle symphony.
Morlot started off playing the violin, but in 1994, attended the Royal Academy of Music to become
a conductor. He first started playing for the Seattle Symphony in 2009, and would later go on to
sign a six year contract with the Seattle symphony. As the lights dimmed, the musicians took their
places and began playing. At the same time I sank into my seat and put my phone on the dim setting
and began my quest to find something interesting on Facebook. The first piece consisted of only
string instruments, and only about twenty musicians playing. The tone of the music started off
slow and gentle. As they kept playing, I quickly found it harder and

How Does Mcdonaldization Affect Society
McDonaldization is an epidemic infecting the United States as well as consumers all over the
country. George Ritzer s term McDonaldization means The process by which the principles of the
fast food restaurant are coming to dominate more and more sectors of American society as well as
the rest of the world (Ritzer, 1993:1). McDonaldizationis moving stealthily into every facet of our
daily lives and affecting us more negatively than positively. Before one understands Ritzer s
coined term McDonalidization , one must know what McDonalds is first. McDonalds is a multi
million dollar corporation of fast food restaurants serving consumers all around the world. The
whole goal of McDonalds is fast service with quickly made meals; with their menuof hamburgers,

McDonalds is less of a restaurant, and more of a vicious entity. This friendly restaurant is making
its way into every aspect of our society with poorer education, horrible customer service, and so on.
The problem being that our culture is embracing these traits and behaviors of McDonalds, society is
becoming lazier and focusing on quantity instead of quality. There are four dimensions of
McDonaldization that highlight how it is impacting societies worldwide: efficiency, calculability,
predictability, and control. Efficiency is getting from one place to another the quickest way
possible, calculability is when bigger quantities are better, predictability is when things are the same
in terms of taste etc. and you know what to expect, and control is when you make human labor
obsolete by replacing it with technology (robots) etc. This will be highlighted throughout the paper
and these components of McDonaldization will be better described as inefficiency, unpredictability,
incalculability, and loss of control (Ritzer,

preponderant need to become prepared for what will be coming our way. In order to familiarize
ourselves with what is coming our way, we were assigned a source evaluation paper. In this
paper, our goal was to firstly select a topic we are essentially interested in and then determine
scholarly sources that would greatly aid us in formulating a potential research exposition. Our job
was to find two sources that are written by scholars within our topics; their scholarliness is

many points of view of Zionism and the impact it has created on the persons involved along with
the spread of Zionism across the Jewish community. The core reason of approaching this topic,
Zionism was because of the personal connection I have towards it. Zionism was portrayed in one
way all my life and it was an unclear topic that I became to grow to want to learn more about. I
really wanted to look more into it in the summer of 2014, when Palestinians were being massacred
and killed in various violent ways in Palestine by Zionists. The news always briefly went over the
thousands of people that were getting killed without actually explaining the cause and effect and
overlooking each life that was taken away. This gave me the urge to dig deeper into the concept of
Zionism and the roots of where it came from, and how it had formed and spread to have influenced
the people. Netanyahu was able to demonstrate in depth all aspects of Zionism and demonstrate his
influence.
This collegiate novel written by Netanyahu broadened my views on Zionism and on the various
aspects that others habitually criticize about the topic. After getting hold of this book, I

tools used in environmental policy. The planning has been made more transparent through the
participation of stakeholders. In the early phase of Planning, the participation has made it possible
to strengthen the trust between stakeholders, and allows sound consensus in disagreement. It has
also prevented appeals in the later phases of decision making. EIA also has influence on project

Panigrahi and Amirapu in 2012 conducted research on An assessment of EIA system in India .
According to the authors there is well developed regulatory EIA system established in India but
coordination is vital for an effective EIA system. Interviews with the officials and consultants
showed that there is weak coordination among the decision makers, SPCBs, consultants,
proponents and other agencies/line departments. Proponents and consultants do not consult
concerned departments and agencies during preparation of EIA reports to identify issues. The
authors carried out the assessment of the EIA process and identified the following weakness in
the system. There are comprehensive guidelines, legal and legislative provisions but
administrative setup is very weak. EIA is just a formality as most of the time EIA is conducted
after start of construction. Coordination among the consultants and planners are very weak.
Involvement of stakeholders into ToR process during scoping is inadequate which results in a thin
coverage of socio economic and environmental issues in the EIA reports. The quality of EIA
reports are very poor and not up to the mark. The reason identified is the lack of experts and
professionals. There are many weaknesses identified in the reports such as it hardly discusses the
limitations and assumptions carried out by consultants.

Research Paper On World Hunger
The Oxford Dictionary defines hunger as a feeling of discomfort or weakness caused by lack of
food, coupled with the desire to eat 1. World hunger, however, takes this definition and brings it
to a global scale. Internationally, there is an estimated 850 million people that don t have enough
food to lead a healthy lifestyle. While this number has gone down by 100 million in the last
decade2, it is still the worlds leading health risk and the poor nutrition that comes with it is still the
cause of death for nearly 3.1 million children under the age of 5 each year3. Thankfully, there are
organisations that work to end world hunger. However, this leads me to my focus question
Is there enough support and awareness to stop world hunger and prevent the undernourishment of
children?
My aim was to find out whether organisations that work towards ending world hunger and the
undernourishment of children have enough support and awareness to reach their goals. My primary
resource is a survey that was conducted in my community. My secondary resource include the
World Vision official website, the United Nations World Food Program website, and several other
websites.
I handed out 20 surveys to people in my community, including neighbours, family, friends and shop

I d be the last one to maintain that marriages are made in heaven (167). Her tragic flaw of pride

be considered as nothing short of completely tragic since her whole existence is stunted because
of it. While she is beautiful because of her courage and will, she is like the stone angel something
that can be gazed upon with wonder, but never really penetrated or understood. The statue of the
stone angel symbolizes the legacy of pride in Hagar s family. Her father bought it
In pride to mark the bones and proclaim his dynasty, as he fancied forever and a day (3).
Form the very begging of the book this symbol constantly reminds readers about Hagar s proud
heritage and her relationship with her father which was marked by both of their senses of pride.
It is also an interesting symbol throughout the book because eventually it gets knocked over and
damaged and serves as a reminder of the tragic nature of the life it represents. Water is an
important symbol throughout the text because it is the given of life and offers Hagar a chance to
grow and develop. There are many times in which it is mentioned and when she says, after

Achieving the Goals of the French
The French Revolution is known to be the bloodiest and most violent revolution humankind has
experienced. The French Revolution was started with the following three goals in mind: a change
in government, a change in economy, and the delivery of equality for all. An extensive effort was
used to correct these problems; however, it came at the cost of people s freedom. Authoritarian
revolutionaries intended to solve France s struggles and drove the revolution in hope to improve
the lives of the people. By looking at the evolution of France, through the years of 1781 to 1815, in
terms of politics, economics, and social classstructure, it becomes evident that although the French
Revolutiondid not meet all goals, the majority of the goals were met.
The French succeeded in bringing economic stability to the country. A massive accumulation of
debt and financial struggle plagued the country, ruining the lives of the common people.
Revolutionaries were later able to recover slowly from these troubles and improve the common
person s life. The misuse of French money greatly troubled the economy. The luxurious lives of the
royal family used up a large fraction of the French budget. Millions of dollars of French treasury
were spent yearly for the royal family to continue their extravagant lives. After the revolution was
fought, Napoleon created a new system of French finance and closely monitored the flow of money.
This shows that the revolution succeeded in gaining control

Dehumanizing Death Penalty
The death penalty is proven to not deter criminals from committing a crime punishable by death.
There are many arguments on whether the death penalty should be legal, but the debate boils down
to personal morals. The death penalty is immoral. Criminals will act on their drive, with no thoughts
about future consequences. The death penaltynot only hurts the criminal, but it affects the criminal
s family. The family already had to experience what it felt like to see a loved one take an innocent
person s life. This causes emotional unnecessary emotional distress for the family and those close to
the person on death row. Murdering the criminal will only put the family through even more
unnecessary trauma. Furthermore, humans are not pets. The human race should not be able to put
others down in the sense of death. It is dehumanizing for the person sentenced to death and the
executioner. There should not be a job in the United States where, in the job description, it states
that you will kill someone.... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
If so many people murder, why aren t there more people on death row? Who chooses who gets the
death penalty and who does not? To my knowledge, there is not a manual detailing the exceptions
of murder to avoid the death penalty. A jury should have to obtain irrefutable evidence of a murder
but that usually does not happen. Innocent people can be wrongly convicted and executed. Mental
illnesses should be taken into consideration when assigning convicted murderers to death row. A
mentally ill person that has committed a crime that has put them in jail should be in a mental psych

  • 2. Feminism In Shashi Deshpande Shashi Deshpande is a known name in the world of Literature today. She writes about the Indian soil, spreading its fragrance all over the world. Writing on Indian womanhood, she does not personalise incidents or situations. Her aim is to enlighten women folk to stand for their own rights. It is note worthy that the women are the sufferers and then, they are oppressors also. Works have been done on the poor plight of women, especially in India but it has been a tedious task to mark out the traces of women dominion in Deshpande novels. The artistic beauty of the author lies in being able to project both sides of the coin. She has never been defensive about womanhood, although a male writer is acclaimed as a writer whereas if a woman attempts to write, she is tagged as feminist. When a man writes of the ... Saru s mother in The Dark Holds No Terrors keeps dominating her from the beginning but when her brother Dhruva is drowned she becomes furious. Saru had only been a child. Her fault was that she was a girl child. Saru s mother goes to the extent of telling her, Why didn t you die? Why are you alive, when he s dead? (The Dark Holds No Terrors 191) Beyond imagination, a mother can be such impudent with her own child just because she is a female child. A mother wishing her daughter dead can be the crudest form of patriarchy supported by women. These words get carved so deep inside her mind that Saru becomes a rebel against her mother. Not only this, she could not develop the rationale of judgement and decision making being suppressed always. Moreover, the guidance of her mother could have helped her but neither her mother bothered nor she cared for the ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

An orange tinted solid is produced and is considered to be unknown since the specific ligand amounts are unknown. By determining the percent composition of various elements and compounds in the unknown, its true identity can be predicted. Chloride, ammonia, and cobalt are three examples of percent compositions determined to help narrow the selection of possible unknowns. Titrations using Na2S2O3 and HCl to determine percent cobalt and ammonia, respectively, are used. Silver nitrate is used to precipitate the chloride ions in the unknown, which can be measured to determine the percent composition of chloride ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... KIO3 is added to an HCl and KI solution containing excess KI and I ions. KIO3 acts as a primary standard and reacts to produce I2, which can then be reacted with the Na2S2O3. The liberated I2 needed about 31.49mL of Na2S2O3 solution during the titration to reach the endpoint. As younger students are attempting to pursue traditional higher education, they are realizing that the costs are not only increasing daily, but the programs are longer in duration and often not a better education than the online line programs. Where as our initial marketing plan was very narrow, the market has since completely opened up and we now are in a position expand our offerings to larger audience. We will propose to re brand and redirect our SDHE as to appeal to a much broader demographic segment. The ultimate goal is to convince potential students that SDHE is a viable higher education institution that exceeds the offerings of our competitors while maintaining a lower cost for an MBA degree. Our niche is that we are in fact a smaller institution and can therefore offer a more customized program in which students do not feel as though they are just a source of revenue for our company; they will feel as though they are receiving critical and accessible services that they will not receive from the larger institutions. 1. Critical Issue 3 What information should Scott Sklar have available to help him arrive at a demand forecast for a particular style of men s shirt that is a new catalog item? Alternative 1 Mr. Sklar will need all the rankings of the various shirts for the particular book this new shirt will be included in. There will need to be a meeting held to discuss where they believe this new item will fall within the other assigned shirt rankings while eliminating preconceived notions and rules of thumb. If this new product is similar to another shirt style then careful consideration needs to be taken to account for any steal in demand that this new shirt will have on any other lines L.L. Bean currently offers. Alternative 2 If this new shirt is believed to be a unique item and will have its own demand absent from the other products offered then a more separate forecast of sales is needed. The next conceivable step would be to develop a unit sales projection by forecasting unit sales per month. The use of the most recent past data available from a new catalogue item will be the most beneficial in helping this statistical analysis in forecasting sales. This will lead to a ... The same concept applies to books and film adaptations of such books. Hollywood feels responsible for making these movies extravagant and bringing the wow factor . Often times we forget that these movies are based on books, that contain the raw and limitless thoughts of authors. But, is the book always better than the movie? While comparing The Devil Wears Pradawritten by Lauren Weisberger, 2003 and the film adaptation The Devil Wears Pradascreenplay by Aline Brosh McKenna, 2006, these concepts are explored. In The Devil Wears Prada , we are introduced to the protagonist Andrea Sachs, an... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... If it has the same title surely it can t be a different story, right? The movie should be respectful and pay homage to the original work. Funnily enough, after reading the book and watching the movie, they could not be more different. There may be people who agree with my opinions, but there may be people who are fans of the actors from the movie, fans of the author or people that like to complain about Hollywood, who would like to see how details were manipulated in the movie versus in the book. The parallel I am choosing to compare and contrast for plot development is the scene where Andrea quits her job. In the book, Andrea and Miranda are on their way to a fashion show when Miranda tells Andrea, she reminds her of herself when she was younger, Andrea is rendered speechless. When they are at the event, Andrea steps outside to take a smoke when Miranda starts to bombard her phone. Andrea rushes back and Miranda mocks Andrea s incompetence. Andrea cusses Miranda out and walks out of the fashion show. Ahn dre ah, you realize what you re doing, do you not? You know that if you simply leave here like this, I m going to be forced [Miranda] Fuck you, Miranda. Fuck you. [Andrea]. She gasped audibly while her hand flew to her mouth in shock... (Weisberger, pg.342) This quote shows how fed up Andrea was, since she essentially tainted her name in the writing world. He places emphasis the shaping of cognitive development. He is one of the first in children development that emphasized on cultural context. I have chosen his theory and what it entails for this paper because its very interesting and some certain parts of his theory like scaffolding and the zone proximal development were relatable to my experience at my field site. Children make friends and can start to develop social relationships. Students can get the attention they need that they don t get at home or maybe from teachers at afterschool programs. The programs provide a positive surrounding for students to be. Social environments do have an effect on them. It can be positive or negative, so it s important that where they decide to be is going to have an optimistic and profound effect on children. As a service learner, I learned that by just being around and being there with them weekly is giving them a positive social environment that they might not get at home or the neighborhood they reside. Also the afterschool program allows them to keep friendships and permit them to flourish. The Zone of Proximal Development (ZPD) another part of Vygotsky theory is applied a lot in classrooms by teachers. By definition it is the difference between what a learner can do without help and what he or she can do with help. Apart of that is a concept called scaffolding, which helps us understand how aiming coaching within a students/child s ZPD can stimulate and increase knowledge and development. Although this theory is practiced predominantly in the classroom, us service learners can attempt to use it as well. • 9. Social Insanity In Medieval Europe Insanity in medieval Europe can be classified according to social and religious violations. Insane was one of the worst labels a man could get during the time of knights. By being labeled a madman, a respected man could become lower than trash. Whether labeled insane due to strangeness or for religious beliefs that differed from the norm, the fact remains that these individuals were all outcasts from society. Social Insanity Definition Insanity, in medieval Europe in the context of social violations, is the condition in which a man or woman acts in a manner deemed outrageous or illogical by the common man. By being labeled insane, a person would be lowered to the equivalent status level of an unreliable drunk. Thus businesses could be crushed and lives ruined if your actions were considered as too strange by the public. Treatment The so called cure of the time for social insanity was isolation, a process by which the potential lunatic is locked up on their own until the patient either shows improvement or dies. When it came to curing the patient, isolation sometimes worked, but it depended on the degree of infliction. In some cases, a patient who wasn t actually insane was driven insane by the solitude instead of being cured by it. Legally, the patient s land would typically be given to ... Hinduism, on the other hand, is much more complex, offering multiple ways to achieve moksha and providing many answers to the ancient question of what happens after we die? Many people think that Hindus believe in many deities, but the Hindu concept of Godis much broader than that. In fact, Hinduismitself encompasses much more than just one specific set of religious beliefs. While some Hindus believe that God is a divine being with certain identifiable attributes, others believe that God cannot be defined and is an all pervading being that extends beyond everything. Although some beliefs differ, the majority of Hindus see the concept of God in multiple ways. Among these are the concepts of God as one and many, God and the soul, God as sound, God as image, God in nature, cows, and avatara. One of Hinduism s most distinguishing features is the concept of multiple gods. These multiple gods are manifestations of the various powers of the divine. Hindus believe that the all pervasive God is both one and many. Because this concept carries the idea of God as an omnipresent being, everything can be seen as being God s form. Such nonlinear relationships can lead to several forms of distortion as summarized below: * A periodic steady state exists and the distorted waveform can be expressed as a Fourier series with a fundamental frequency equal to the power frequency. * A periodic steady state exists and the distorted waveform can be expressed as a Fourier series with fundamental frequency that is a sub multiple of power frequency. * The waveform is aperiodic but perhaps almost periodic. • 34. Advantages And Disadvantages Of Sealed Bidding By Procurement Procurement by public entities is guided by primary law principles of transparency, equal treatment and non discrimination, procurement laws sets up an extensive legal framework regarding the procurement of work, supply and service contracts. There are two main reasons for the use of specific procedures i.e. why contracting authorities do not just negotiate or simply buy from the closest supplier. First, it provides for more public accountability and therefore less cases of corruption practices. Additionally, tendering procedures aim to ensure the best value for money by making it necessary for suppliers to act highly competitive. As a result, market mechanisms will help in facilitating the best possible practices. In situations where market mechanisms are not effective, tender procedures might lose their effectiveness as well. If for example there is lack of competition due to certain complexities or as a result of lower bidder interest, negotiations with just one or two suppliers may be the most efficient manner to handle the process. Therefore, we discuss the inherent advantages and disadvantages of sealed biddingand contracting by negotiation as procedural frameworks for tendering. Though a description of Ike Dwight D. Involvement of stakeholders into ToR process during scoping is inadequate which results in a thin coverage of socio economic and environmental issues in the EIA reports. The quality of EIA reports are very poor and not up to the mark. The reason identified is the lack of experts and professionals. There are many weaknesses identified in the reports such as it hardly discusses the limitations and assumptions carried out by consultants. ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 49. Research Paper On World Hunger The Oxford Dictionary defines hunger as a feeling of discomfort or weakness caused by lack of food, coupled with the desire to eat 1. World hunger, however, takes this definition and brings it to a global scale. Internationally, there is an estimated 850 million people that don t have enough food to lead a healthy lifestyle. While this number has gone down by 100 million in the last decade2, it is still the worlds leading health risk and the poor nutrition that comes with it is still the cause of death for nearly 3.1 million children under the age of 5 each year3. Thankfully, there are organisations that work to end world hunger. However, this leads me to my focus question Is there enough support and awareness to stop world hunger and prevent the undernourishment of children? My aim was to find out whether organisations that work towards ending world hunger and the undernourishment of children have enough support and awareness to reach their goals. My primary resource is a survey that was conducted in my community. My secondary resource include the World Vision official website, the United Nations World Food Program website, and several other websites. I handed out 20 surveys to people in my community, including neighbours, family, friends and shop keepers. In all I had made 20 ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Unfortunately, that is not the only disturbing fact. It was found that global hunger has a sexist side to as if women had the same access to resources as men did, the number of people affected by hunger would drop by 150 million4.To make matters worse, women provide up to 70% of agriculture production but make up to 60% of people affected by global hunger5. This huge divide has sparked the development of programs such as the Women s Empowerment in Agriculture Index6 which is being lead by the International Food Policy Research Institute ... She is not likable in any general sense of the word, but she is someone that can relate to since she is flawed. The problem is, as the project statement for this makes clear, her flaw is so powerful and has such clear, her flaw is so powerful and has such an effect on her life that it can be considered as nothing short of completely tragic since her whole existence is stunted because of it. While she is beautiful because of her courage and will, she is like the stone angel something that can be gazed upon with wonder, but never really penetrated or understood. The statue of the stone angel symbolizes the legacy of pride in Hagar s family. Her father bought it In pride to mark the bones and proclaim his dynasty, as he fancied forever and a day (3). Form the very begging of the book this symbol constantly reminds readers about Hagar s proud heritage and her relationship with her father which was marked by both of their senses of pride. It is also an interesting symbol throughout the book because eventually it gets knocked over and damaged and serves as a reminder of the tragic nature of the life it represents. Water is an important symbol throughout the text because it is the given of life and offers Hagar a chance to grow and develop. There are many times in which it is mentioned and when she says, after forgetting to purchase some, ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 52. Achieving the Goals of the French The French Revolution is known to be the bloodiest and most violent revolution humankind has experienced. The French Revolution was started with the following three goals in mind: a change in government, a change in economy, and the delivery of equality for all. An extensive effort was used to correct these problems; however, it came at the cost of people s freedom. Authoritarian revolutionaries intended to solve France s struggles and drove the revolution in hope to improve the lives of the people. By looking at the evolution of France, through the years of 1781 to 1815, in terms of politics, economics, and social classstructure, it becomes evident that although the French Revolutiondid not meet all goals, the majority of the goals were met. The French succeeded in bringing economic stability to the country. A massive accumulation of debt and financial struggle plagued the country, ruining the lives of the common people. Revolutionaries were later able to recover slowly from these troubles and improve the common person s life. The misuse of French money greatly troubled the economy. The luxurious lives of the royal family used up a large fraction of the French budget. Millions of dollars of French treasury were spent yearly for the royal family to continue their extravagant lives. After the revolution was fought, Napoleon created a new system of French finance and closely monitored the flow of money. This shows that the revolution succeeded in gaining control ... • 53. Dehumanizing Death Penalty The death penalty is proven to not deter criminals from committing a crime punishable by death. There are many arguments on whether the death penalty should be legal, but the debate boils down to personal morals. The death penalty is immoral. Criminals will act on their drive, with no thoughts about future consequences. The death penaltynot only hurts the criminal, but it affects the criminal s family. The family already had to experience what it felt like to see a loved one take an innocent person s life. This causes emotional unnecessary emotional distress for the family and those close to the person on death row. Murdering the criminal will only put the family through even more unnecessary trauma. Furthermore, humans are not pets. The human race should not be able to put others down in the sense of death. It is dehumanizing for the person sentenced to death and the executioner. There should not be a job in the United States where, in the job description, it states that you will kill someone.... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... If so many people murder, why aren t there more people on death row? Who chooses who gets the death penalty and who does not? To my knowledge, there is not a manual detailing the exceptions of murder to avoid the death penalty. A jury should have to obtain irrefutable evidence of a murder but that usually does not happen. Innocent people can be wrongly convicted and executed. Mental illnesses should be taken into consideration when assigning convicted murderers to death row. A mentally ill person that has committed a crime that has put them in jail should be in a mental psych ward for rehabilitation to help ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
