Essay On City Planners
Those moving from big cities to smaller cities like College Station could have trouble adjusting to
the lifestyle and surrounding environment at first. Since College Station and Bryan cities are
mainly the second home to thousands of college students, therefore, city planners did not focus
much on the entertainment aspect for the people that live here. The main entertainment that college
students would be able to enjoy around here is going to the cinema during the weekends. Unlike
small, growing cities like College Station and Bryan, big cities like Austin, Dallas and Houston are
often act as magnets that attract many businesses to come to the city. The reason that businesses

After observing and collecting the demographic data using U.S. Census, we then compared the
data to the city of Austin s demographic data. By comparing the City of College Station and
Bryan to the city of Austin, urban planners would be able to determine whether Dave and Buster s
would be successful if they open a new location here. The reason that Austin was used as the
standard measurement was because there is a Dave and Buster s in Austin that is successfully
attract people from a variety range of age.
First, we looked at the areas population. Based on the U.S. Census collected in 2010, the total
population in the city of College Station is 93,857 people and the total population in the city of
Bryan is 76,201 people. Compared to Austin, the combined population of both the City of College
Station and the City of Bryan is approximately six times the Austin s population. Based on this
factor alone, we could say that the Dave and Buster s does have the potential of being successful in
the areas of College Station and Bryan. However, other factors should be taken in consideration
before making any final decision.
The second factor that we used is the age groups among the cities. Looking at different age groups
in the community is critical because businesses are often provide services to only a certain amount
of age groups. For example, it is not appropriate to have an amusement park in a community where

Descartes Certainty
Descartes wish to do this and that is, to guard against everything that creeps in his mind, to suspend
all his judgement, and sets out to look or find something that lies beyond all doubt because he
wants to discredit or to prove false of the notion that nothing can be known with certainty in order to
begin by presupposing nothing and by taking nothing for granted.
In my own opinion, I strongly consider his reason for doing this as reasonable because its
intention is to create a body of knowledge, and Descartes never intended to set aside all of his
opinions but just cast doubts on this opinions that are based on some preconceived notion so he
will be able to stand back in order to see the truth in itself.
I consider Descartes epistemological project important because it is extremely important to conduct
our own investigation to the warrant for what we believe by means of doubting everything until we
find anything certain or until it has been shown to be an acceptable belief for us. How can we
acquire knowledge of truth without certainty? That is why it is important that we should not
believe in anything that we cannot be certain of.
The conclusions that Descartes draw from this testimony ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net

Why? Because there are no certain indications that distinguish whether one is just dreaming or
one is fully awake. In order to establish that someone is not dreaming, suppose he is given a test
that he can perform successfully ONLY when he is awake and not dreaming, but it is true that any
possible test performed could be the case that someone is merely dreaming in performing that test.
I think that Descartes reasoning about this is correct because anything that we can experience
when we are awake, we can also experience or perform it in our dreams, so giving someone a test
cannot serve as a guarantee of authenticity of the test that determine whether or not he is

Junior Year Essay
Junior Year Junior year was one of the best years of high school, but also one of the most
stressful years of high school. What made it great was prom and homecoming. Prom was so
much fun and my date was amazing. We also went together for homecoming too. That was the
first year going to prom and I knew it was going to be a good one.
Also, the boys had won the homecoming football ball game which was a great start to the
weekend! I had got a class ring and customized it the way I wanted and it turned out great. Now
that we were upperclassmen it felt good to be almost at the top. I still had my friends that I had
throughout high school and middle school. However, I did lose one of my closest friends sophomore
year when she moved to Texas.

My Observation Of Unsupervised Adolescents
In my observation of unsupervised adolescents for part A, I observed some teenagers in Time
Square in New York city. During my trip to new I encounter my unsupervised kids. In New York
during the summer season there are many kids from all over the world. This observation took
place on June 19th at 10 am there were a lot of people visiting from different places of the world.
I observed unsupervised adolescents for two sessions in the interval two hours in New York city.
I walked a couple blocks to Time Square and then I stopped to eat in time square and decided to

Time square is full of street performers and vendors selling so I got to see a wide range of ages
in the adolescent phase. The four girls that were looking for where they are going these girls
seemed about 16 years old average for the group. I believe that the girls were from the north
because they had Canadian accents saying ay a lot giving further evidence of this was how they
switch to French when talking to one another. Because these girls were speaking French I
couldn t understand them so I decided to observe heavily on the group of kids dancing in the
square. The next group of adolescent I observed were a group of black teenage males wearing
matching red jumpsuits and tennis shoes setting up orange cones to perform on the street, I don
t believe they have permission to section off a part of the sidewalk. Before the performance
began the kids were yelling out in the square for attention and making jokes about what they do.
Many of the people in the area ignored and stayed closely on their trying to not notice them, I
was one of those people. This was a group of all male teenagers you called them Flip squad which
made sense because the kids were flipping around and dancing. One of the guys said he was a
Dominican and started speaking in Spanish and another of the fellows had a short buzz cut. The

Advertising in Baseball Stadiums
Introduction Baseball is considered to be America s favorite pastime and has become popular all
over the world. This sport is watched by millions of people every time there is a game played.
People will go to the stadiums to watch and a lot of fans will watch the game on television. Since
there are so many people watching these games, advertisinghas become more and more apart of
every baseball stadium due to the amount of exposure a company can receive by using the many
types of ads found in a baseball stadium. The stadiums use billboards, fences, green screens,
merchandise, airplanes, names of stadiums, and scoreboards as all different ways to advertise a
company s product.

Merchandise
Merchandise is probably one of the most common forms of advertising in a baseball stadium.
First you have the souvenir shops inside all of the ballparks that sell shirts and hats with the
team s logos and the stadiums name on them. This makes the fans a walking advertisement for
the stadium and team. Food is the next form of advertising in baseball stadiums followed by
beverages. These two go hand in hand with one another because when people buy a hotdog they
usually want to wash it down with an ice cold beer. Hotdogs and beer have almost become a
tradition in the fact that when you go to ballparks those are the top two items fans purchase the
most. Lastly you have the vendors walking around yelling out the name of beer they are selling
along with hotdogs and peanuts. For example, Wrigley Field is known for their Old Style beer so
when the vendor is yelling out get your ice cold Old Style they are advertising for the beer
company and giving them good exposure throughout the game.
Airplanes Airplanes are another way marketers reach a large crowd at one time by using fly by

Comparison Of Halo And Call Of War
Let s analyze this. Halo and its single player campaign held a vast universe and followed the
Spartan warriors into battle to save the Earth from the alien invasion of 2 different races while
Call of Duty has switched from World War 2 and the Modern era. I must say, the World War 2
story lines were quite boring, being the same in almost every way, but the Modern Warfare story
line caught my attention. With the evil villain Makarov and the twists and turns the story made in
Modern Warfare 2, I was on the edge of my seat. But, Halowas in every way better in the single
player front. Following genetically enhanced Spartan warriors into battle fighting off hordes of
aliens I was amazed with how deep the story got and how Bungieused every asset they could to
enhance the story further in a not so crazy way.
Ah co op. The lovely days of playing a game with a friend right beside you on a Saturday will never

the community. Now Call of Duty...well Call of Duty didn t really bring that much uniqueness
but it did help evolve the modern fast paced shooter into what it is now. In addition, the 60
frames per second on that game makes it a Call of Duty title while Halo and basically all other
games lack that aspect. As I ve said too many people, Halo is a crappy game at the start that

change that data.Table level shared locks allow multiple users to perform read and write
operations on the table, but do not allow any users to perform DDL operations.Multiple users
can hold shared locks simultaneously. An exclusive lock allows only one user/connection to
update a particular piece of data (insert, update, and delete). When one user has an exclusive lock
on a row or table, no other lock of any type may be placed on it. Each Xact must obtain a S (shared)
lock on object before reading, and an X (exclusive) lock on object before writing. A transaction
can release its locks once it has performed its desired operation (R or W). A transaction cannot

Analysis Of Nancy Reagan s Just Say No
I recently read and analyzed a speech given by Nancy Reagan entitled Just Say No . In the late
1980s, around the time that Nancy Reagan gave her speech the U.S was facing a major drug
problem. During that time a new drug, cocaine, was recently introduced. Because this new drug
was cheap and addictive, youth drug addictions became a major problem. As a result of the drug
problems many people spoke out against it, one of these individuals was Nancy Reagan in her
Just Say No Speech (Decades of Drug Use: The 80s and 90s, 2002). After analyzing he r speech I
feel it was successfully persuasive. In the speech Nancy Reagan described how bad drugs can
be, she described how the citizens of the United States can work together to solve this problem,
and finally she described what life will be like for young people if they grow up and do not do
drugs. (Reagan, 1986) In her speech Nancy Reagan describes the negative effects that drugs can
have on the not only the people that do the drugs, but the nation as a whole. The way she
describes this is by using the persuasive strategy arguments from generalization. This means that
the speaker makes a generalization and assumes that what happened in the example that the
speaker gave is likely to hold true in other examples (Nelson, P., Titsworth, 2009). The way Nancy
Reagan does this is by giving a specific example in paragraph two about a young boy she came in
contact with while traveling around to gain information about the

These three Persons not only exist as one in the present moment, but will continue to do so with no

Mirrors In V For Vendetta
In the 2005 film, V for Vendetta , McTeigue strategically uses mirrors to quietly echo the desire
to expose the truth of a totalitarian government. V, a heroic, masked vigilante, takes it upon
himself to plot the demise of a fascist British government. Evey emerges as V s unlikely
accomplice in his plot to bring freedom and justice back to a society fraught with cruelty and
corruption. Although Evey eventually becomes a fighting force, she begins the film as an
obedient, and most importantly, a fearful citizen of her tyrannical government. In the opening
scene of the film, McTeigue introduces both V and Evey seated in front of mirrors. In the way the
McTeigue films the scene, it actually appears as if Evey and V sit on opposite sides of the same

Tactics to Spotting a Liar
Knowing when to identify when a person is being deceiving or lying to another person is an
advantage when living in the world today. Within this paper there will be tactics to spotting
certain lies, whether it is through verbally or nonverbally instances. This will be useful if one was

boyfriend about affairs that might be happening, or maybe even dating a new person, having the
ability to tell if there is a liecould have life altering consequences. One would also get the
policing aspect on how they conduct police interviews and interrogations. Later, I will be
discussing the insight of liar and what they are thinking. If one wants to beat the liar, they have
to understand why and how the liar is doing their deceitful ways. It would also be to the
advantage of the victim of a deceiver to know how liar is deceiving people in human affairs, this
will also be covered. The topic will be brought up if lying should be considered a criminal
offense in certain situations and how to go about that. Sometimes lying can also come from a
positive side; the question arises if it is even moral or ethically right to deceive another not only
for your own advantage, but maybe for another. A common criminal act that is involved with
lying and deceit is crime fraud, it will be discussed how they are linked. Police are not the only

Sensory Division Research Paper
Sensory Input, Integration, and Motor Output Sensory receptors detect when a hot spoon touches
your skin which is caused by the sensory input. Once the receptors feel the input the nervous system
decides what to do about it; this is integration. Motor output is what is done about the input,
whether you scream or jerk away from the hot spoon. So the response that you get from the
integration is the motor output when is acts upon the body.
Central Nervous System
The central nervous system is made of the brain and spinal cord, where the brain is the control
center for integration and motor output.
Peripheral Nervous System
The PNS is all the nerves that come off of the brain and spine, acting as the communicator for the
rest of the body. The PNS can work in both directions.
Sensory Division
The afferent division, picks up sensory stimuli; telling the brain that something is happening to your
body. When the hot spoon touches your arm, the sensory division sends a message through the PNS
to the brain saying that s what s happening.
Motor Division
Also known as the efferent division, sends directions from your brain to the muscles and glands.
So when the hot spoon touches you and your sensory division sends the message of what s
happening, the brain will send back a signal making you move your arm away or scream.

Case Study Of Tata Motors Acquisition Jaguar
Background on Tata Motors Acquiring Jaguar
Tata Motors is India s largest passenger automobile and commercial vehicle established in 1945
Listed on the New York Stock Exchange in 2004. TATA Motors is best example that has a number
of Acquisition, subsidiaries, Associate Companies and Strategic Tie up. One can attribute the
difference in the outcomes to the differences in approaches to acquisition process. TATA employed
a method which is directly opposite to Daimler. The essence of this method lay in respecting the
existing culture rather than imposing a foreign culture. The expansion continues with the
Acquisition of Jaguar Land Rover, the world s most respectable and iconic brands.
The concept of acquisition factor that leads to successful can be understood better with the case
of Tata acquiring Jaguar and Land Rover Land Deal. The deal basically focuses on the prime
sector of automobile and the reputation of companies at their own segment. Globally, the number
and size of deals is heading toward record levels, with cross border deals taking centre stage, as
companies take advantage of cheap financing to pursue their expansive acquisition strategies.

There are several reasons for this. The primary reason could be its decision of not seeking to run
Jaguar Land Rover operations from Tata headquarters. Instead they decided to leave the day to day

moved the brand Tata Motorsfrom a commercial vehicle and small car manufacturer to a global
player with premium brands in their list. In the fiscal year 2008, ended in March, Jaguar posted
an increase of 27 percent in retail sales, to 306,000 (Three lakh six thousand) vehicles, and became

Analysis Of The Stimulus Material Given I Saw A...
From reading the stimulus material given I saw a relationship between the disappearance of
language and technological advancements. In the Self Portrait Along the Borderline Between
Mexico and the United States by Frida Khalo a painting that shows the differences between
Mexico and America in the 1900s, there appears to be a difference of culture between America
and Mexico. America is more modern, as Mexico is more classic. America s modernization is
shown in the different factories in the background, and Mexico s classicism is shown through the
ancient Mexican temple in the background. As stated in Vanishing Voices , written by Russ Rymer,
As modern inventions like cars enters their world, the Seris tend to adapt their language rather than
import Spanish words. Erica Barnett uses an abandoned car as a hothouse to grow mangroves to
replenish an estuary (21). Rymer is stating that with new technologies, people need to adapt. I
believe that not only do people need to adapt, but also governments need to be more accustomed to
advances in technology. With the introduction of the Internet many governments need to change.
This change would come through passing different laws which would censor the Internet and in
doing so, limit freedom of speech, because this is widely controversial in the US. I began to look
at why this is so controversial. According to Andrea Leadsom, a Conservative Member of
Parliament for South Northamptonshire, the Internet should be censored for the kids.

Henry Moore Two Large Forms Analysis
Two Large Forms
Every few decades there is a new form of art that is considered to be modern so it would be difficult
to say that I dislike modern art however, present day s rendition of modern art is something I am
definitely not a fan of. I say this because the problem of everything s been done before has surfaced
more than ever so artists nowadays are trying to create pieces of art that are a fine line away from
not being considered art at all, respectively seeing as Art is everything . I recently saw an art piece
a couple of years ago, at the Art Gallery of Ontario, and it was a sculpture of a pile of shoes. Now, I
m not prejudice to art but there has to be some sort of limitation to what is considered art and
what is considered last weeks trash, which brings me to the topic at hand, Two Large Forms by
Henry Moore. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Initially, when I walked up to this sculpture my thoughts were the name of the piece pretty much
sums it up. Approaching the statues, they seem to just be large bronze masses on the corner of
McCaul street but, as any art should be looked at, I decided to dig deeper than the superficial.
The location is odd to me, mainly because the bronze forms are not alone in the corner of the
building, but are not really impacted by its surroundings. The trees behind the statue are dead

Recall There has been a great deal of controversy surrounding the voluntarily recall of Vioxx by
Merck. They initially went on record stating that as soon as they became aware of the
cardiovascular risks they pulled the profitable medication. There has been speculation that the FDA
was aware of the same risks and yet they did not recall the medication sooner. (Drug Watch,... Show

So many people were affected by Merck s decisions; they had promoted Vioxx as a powerhouse
prescription and invested over $500 million in consumer and professional advertising. They
even featured television ads showing champion skater Dorothy Hammel skating without
arthritis pain as a result of Vioxx. Over all we can conclude that even though there was adequate
testing, there were also flaws in the oversight of the studies as well as how data was recorded
and provided to governing agencies. There have been numerous revisions and additions to the
FDA process. (FDA, 2015) No matter how you look at the scandal that is the Vioxx recall, there
are certain facts that cannot be ignored the most important being the 38,000 deaths are related to
Vioxx. Everyone wants the miracle drugs to be approved faster and get to market quicker;
however the safety of the consumer needs to be a priority. Oversight of the manufacturing and

How Does S. E. Hinton Use Slang In The Outsiders
S.E. Hinton, the author of the novel The Outsiders accurately portrays the 60 s culture within this
novel. This novel was published in 1967, which means Hinton may have used words, including
slang in The Outsiders . S.E. Hinton, wrote a great novel that describes the relationship between
the different gangs, and the relationship within the members of the gang. S.E. Hinton gives her
readers many hints about how she portrays the 60 s in The Outsiders . Hinton, as mentioned, uses
slang throughout the chapters such as fuzz which was referred to cops, in the 1960 s. ... the cops

Hinton does not accurately portray the culture of the 1960 s. Their reasoning could be that,
throughout the novel, with the descriptions, Hinton, never once described them as Hippies
which was more on the side of a style in the 60 s. But these gangs were more tuff lookin . Tuff is
their own word that the greasers use to describe themselves as good looking or tough . Another
reason why readers might agree with the non portrayal side, is because Pony only states the

The Sickle Cell Crisis
Sickle cell crisis is an acute form of sickle cell disease where pain and sickling are extensive
(Byar, 2013). SCD is a genetic disease that predominantly affects black people of African decent
(Gersten, 2016). Abnormal hemoglobin chains are the main issue with SCD (Byar, 2013). Normal
hemoglobin chains are comprised of 99% hemoglobinA (HbA) however, in SCD an abnormal
form of the gene, hemoglobin S (HbS) is present in approximately 40% of total hemoglobin
(Byar, 2013). In order for a person to be born with SCD, both parents must carry the abnormal
gene, HbS (Byar, 2013). HbS is extremely sensitive to the changes in oxygen amount of the RBC
and when exposed to decreased oxygen the HbS cause the RBC to distort and become sickle shaped,

A Report On The River Discharge Essay
The Apalachicola River discharge was about an order or two higher in a wet season (March 23
25, 2015) than in a dry season (November 2 4, 2015) (Figure 8a 8b). Furthermore, the river
discharge increased progressively in March, whereas it altered a little in November except after
November 4, 2015. The predicted tidal heights showed relatively similar micro tidal
environment in both surveys; however the ebb tidal periods were much stronger in March than
in November (Figure 8c 8d). Weak to average winds (2.85 В± 0.97 ms 1 in March and 2.29 В±
1.68 ms 1 in November) were observed during the field measurements. Nonetheless, sustained
periods of cold northerly winds in March and warm southerly winds in November could have
affected the field and satellite measurements at some stations, e.g., by sediment re suspension and
wavy sea state (black boxes, Figure 8e 8f). Tidal forcing was likely the major factor to control the
diurnal variation in salinity and water level in both the seasons (Figure 8c 8d). Moreover, moderate
winds could have affected salinity and water level above the tidal height either by pushing river
water towards the bay or by introducing shelf water into the bay (e.g. black boxes in Figure 8)
(Huang et al. 2002a; Huang et al. 2002b). Dry Bar and Cat Point salinity stations were located
close to river mouth (Figure 1); however, they showed considerable variations in salinity during

Exceptions to this pattern of stability were the marked increase of the Albanian population and a
steep decline in the numbers of Jews, ethnic Germans, and Hungarians after World War II
(Cushman). Another definitive cause of the Yugoslavian breakup was the nationalism of ethnic
groups in the early 1990s. Nationalism replaced communism as the dominant ideology in the
country. Slovenia and then Croatia were the first to break away, but this caused Serbia to become
hostile towards the two nations. Consequently, the war in Croatia led to hundreds of thousands of
refugees and also brought back memories of the harsh acts of the Nazis in the 1940s. By 1992 a
further conflict had broken out in Bosnia, which had also succeeded from Yugoslavia. The Serbs
who lived there were determined in remaining within Yugoslavia and to help build a more
homogenous Serbia. They received strong backing from radical groups in Belgrade. Muslims
were driven from their homes in carefully planned operations that become known as ethnic
cleansing . By 1993 the Bosnian Muslim government was besieged in the capital Sarajevo,
surrounded by Bosnian Serb forces who controlled around 70% of Bosnia. In Central Bosnia, the
mainly Muslim army was fighting a separate war against Bosnian Croats who wished to be part of
a greater Croatia. The presence of United Nations peacekeepers was required to contain the
situation. The idea from culminated in the Yugoslav Peace Conference,

The Conversion Of Constantine s Conversion Essay
The Conversion of Constantine Constantine was the first Roman Emperor to convert to
Christianity. He started his reign in 306 AD. During this time the Roman Empire was still
composed mainly of pagans. Although the population of Christians was on the rise, in the
beginning of the fourth century Christians made up only 10 percent of the population in the Roman
Empire. There were approximately five million Christian in the Roman Empire meaning that
they were still the minority (Waldron). His conversion was an important turning point not only
for Christians but also for the Roman Empire as a whole. Although most Romans still believed
in Greco Roman religions, Constantine decided to become a Christian because he knew that it
would be beneficial for his role as emperor. His conversion was prompted by his desire to end the
tetrarchy structure of he Roman Empire and to become the sole ruler of the Roman Empire. The
story of Constantine s conversion was told through Eucbuius of Caersera. His recount of the story
is skewed by his bias. In order to show a more holistic view of the story I will be comparing his
account to the account of Andreas. Constantine had other motives for converting to Christianitysuch
as AlfoМ€ldi. Constantine s decision to become a Christian was influenced by numerous external
factors. Constantine emulated the monotheistic nature of Christianity and used it as the foundation
of his reign and used Christianity to advance his political agenda. When

Bach s Organ Effect Essay
The troublesome part to clarify is the manner by which Bach created the Toccata s compelling
organ effect. At the point when Bach was in Arnstadt when he was young, the organ commonly did
not have a 16 foot register on the keyboard; thus, it sounds an octave lower than the typical 8 foot
register. Accordingly, keeping in mind the end goal to make the impact, Bach utilized octave
multiplying; thus, he proceeded with the resonating impact of the opening bars; on the other hand,
there is no octave multiplying in any of Bach s later organ works; in addition, the fuguesounds irate
with its continuous arrangement of quick notes. Likewise, Bach felt humiliated about his unrefined
style, and he set the work aside; thus, Bach lost a ton of his other early organ work totally.

In order to help the millions of men, women, and children who are victims of trafficking, Panama

U.S. Department of State reports: No [Panamanian] law expressly prohibits forced labor of adults or
children, although the government stated that forced labor could be prosecuted under provisions of
constitutional law and other civil and criminal statutes. Economically, many businesses thrive off of
human trafficking as a way to increase production by holding down the price of goods, mainly since
the workers are being paid less. Therefore, the Panamanian government first should start by setting
strict laws prohibiting labor trafficking. Although this will hurt the economy, millions of human
rights violations occur every year, which is the important matter. The Panamanian government can
make up for this in other ways. Also, Panama can help the situation by working with the United
Nations. The United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime (UNODC) works to help root out human

Contract Law From Law And Economics Perspective
b.Contract Law from Law and Economics Perspective
Voluntary exchange is of the utmost importance in being able to transfer resources from less to
more valuable uses and to the hands of those that value them the most. This process of exchange
does not face many obstacles when the parties to a transaction can perform their obligations in a
simultaneous manner. In today s world, most transfers of resources occur through contracts and
require agreements as to how, where, and at what price the transfer will occur at some time in the
future. This is why protection of contract rights is essential.
While voluntary exchange would not necessarily break down entirely without any form of contract
law, it would be highly inefficient. In a legal ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
If efficiency is not enforced through contract law it will bias investment toward economic activity
that can only be conducted in a short time period. This will reduce efficiency in the market and lead
to misallocation of resources.
Here is a simple example of how the lack of contract law s existence would affect how parties
interacted in the sale of goods and services. Professor Chrisman has advertised that he has a hog
(not to be confused with a pig), worth $100 to him, for sale and now has two potential
purchasers. Buyer one, Professor Todd, has offered to purchase the hog today from $150 (he is
risk adverse and believes that price of pigs is going to increase drastically over the next year).
Buyer two, Professor Hesch, has offered to purchase the hog next Saturday at graduation for
$200. If Professor Chrisman lives in a system without contract law he will accept Professor Todd
s offer of $150 today because he will be worried that Professor Hesch will change his mind before
graduation and Professor Todd will have bought another hog. The law s failure to enforce contract
law has caused an inefficient misallocation of resources because Professor Chrisman cannot
enforce the promise made by Professor Hesch and will not be incentivized to take the risk of
selling the hog to him.
The single purpose and goal of all contract law is to impose contract liability only where it creates
incentives to encourage value maximizing conduct in the future.

Classroom Inclusion In The Classroom
For the majority of educational history, students with disabilities are placed in segregated
classrooms in order to protect them. However, recent controversy details the existence of increased
negative impacts on classroom segregation. The importance of classroom inclusion falls under three
main categories: mutual acceptance and equal treatment of students with disabilities in society,
increased personality development in disabled students, and quicker development of crucial skills
(Soponaru, Camelia, et al. 1). Overall, integrated classrooms appear to be effective, but many
regular educationteachers lack the qualifications to properly instruct integrated classrooms. Even
though some regular education teachers are qualified to teach integrated classrooms, regular
education teachers with integrated classrooms need to be more thoroughly educated about special
needs to ensure an optimal learning environment for all students.
Regular education teachers with integrated classrooms need to be more thoroughly educated about
special needs to optimize their teaching abilities. Recent advocacy for inclusion classrooms has left
unqualified teachers instructing a range of students; which unfortunately leads to unfavorable
learning environments. According to an interview with Mary Fair, a regular education teacher, it is
common for a regular education teacher to be placed in a classroom without any prior knowledge
on properly instructing children with special needs; the outcome is a

A Brief Note On The Green Building Movement
The Green Building Movement North American homes, offices and other buildings contribute an
estimated 2.2 billion tons of carbon dioxide to the atmosphere every year more than one third of
the continent s greenhouse gas pollution output (Biello). Global warming is a worldwide issue that
is thought to be one of the most severe problems around the globe. Pollution in the atmosphere is
one of the main causes of global warming. This pollution starts to build up and destroy the ozone
layer causing an increase in the overall temperature of the Earth s atmosphere (Lee). There are
simple methods that can be followed to help decrease global warming. Green buildingis a building
process that is used to make buildings more environmental friendly. This process is used throughout
the whole building life cycle, which includes everything from making the design of the building up
to the demolition of the building. Cooperation of all the people involved in the building process is
very important throughout each stage in the project. This process can lead to a much better and
easier way to help the global warming issue throughout the world. Many people may oppose to
green building because of the higher cost for new equipment and materials that are environmental
friendly (Rajendran). Although there are new technologies that are beginning to help some current
environmental safety issues, these technologies are being developed for the same reasons that
people are encouraging green

because credit card companies now offer rewards where an individual receives moneyback or
maybe even a discount flight. People used to not want to buy their children s Christmas on

Analyzing Hilda Doolittle s Poem Helen
HELENNNNNN Helen of Troy is a prominent character in Greek mythology who is known for
her beauty which caused the Trojan War. She is often viewed as a one dimensional character who
singularly represents beauty. However, in Hilda Doolittle s poem entitled Helen , she uses an
analysis of the image of Helento support feminism. Her poem, written with three stanzas,
describes a change in Helen s personal state in order to emphasize the negative effects of
assuming that beauty indicates an absence of personality. Doolittle begins by describing, in
simple terms, Greece s unanimous hate towards the character Helen, whose beauty tears apart
Greece. By describing Helen as still and white, Doolittle conveys strong imagery of a
conspicuous lack of motion. All Greece hates / the still eyes in the white face... where she

Greeks are said to hate her even more when she remembers past enchantments / and past ills (H.D.

War a past ill for Helen is a direct contrast to the unsaid ills the Greeks suffered in the same war,
which were much greater, at least in terms of life and death. Greece seems to think that whenever
Helen does anything, she causes trouble or reminds people of the trouble she has caused. In fact,

A Report On The Sub Machine Gun
Introduction:
From the incident, it can be reasonably suggested that the weapon must be small and concealable
with a quick fire rate in order to eliminate two targets at once. The perforating wounds, wounds with
entry and exit wounds, also suggest a high velocity firearm although the metal fragments in the
wound from Victim 2 imply the bullet can be easily fragmented. The Heckler and Koch MP7 sub
machine gun with 4.6 x 30mm frangible SX ammunition coincides with this evidence, especially
with the accompanying accessories; a HK MP7 Silencer and Brasscatcher, which further benefits
the shooter by creating minimal disturbance and leaving negligible ballistic evidence behind.

Once firing began the shooter loses the sightline and accuracy to the target therefore the bullets
begin to spread out due to the recoil and the constant discharge of bullets. However due to the
second victim only having two wounds the gun must be able to operate in single shot as well as
in an automatic mode a sub machine gun. The weapon must be small and concealable as the firer
had to travel to an alleyway unnoticed; the HK MP7 has a length of 340mm with the stock closed
(Maxim Popenker, 1999 2015), however adding the HK MP7 Silencer which is needed to reduce
the noise from firing in order to remain undetected in a potentially public area, the length increases
by a further 222mm (Airsoft 2015) making the overall weapon length over 700mm when firing. Due
to this greater length this makes the firearm much more difficult to hide which increases the chance
considerably for the target to react and disarm the shooter or escape.
The HK MP7 has a mass of 1.7kg with a 20 round magazine (Maxim Popenker, 1999 2015) hence
a suitable choice as it is easily manoeuvrable (being fairly light) which makes it simple to handle
and operate for all users. Although, due to the addition of the silencer and the brass catcher, the
mass increases to over 2.5kg thus becoming more awkward to carry and to hide discreetly,
especially if the shooter was a more petite build.
The HK MP7 can be used by the most novice of shooters with its

Passion In Peter Shaffer s Equus
Equus depicts modern society and its worship of the normal as the true enemy of passion. In the
play, passion can only be achieved by breaking of the chains of normalcy, chains formed by the
assumed authority of establish institutions such as religion and psychiatry. Dysart comes to see
normality as the enemy to passion throughout the play as he observes Alan, his model of

loss of passion due to destructive nature of the normal. Passion stems from the individuality that
society attempts to cut out of its citizens and to Alan this individuality is found his instinctual and

In Equus, Alan and Dysart s relationship offers an interesting picture of the journey to
enlightenment about what normality truly means. Dysart s character becomes increasingly
complex as he finds himself drawn to Alan s passionate struggle for worship. Michael Hinden
identifies this complexity as Dysart s trying to dissuade his counterpart from his destructive
course (55) using the idea of Dysart possessing two conflicting parts of himself borne of this
struggle between normalcy, which has always been the driving force of his career, and a new
passion not accepted by society s definition of right and good . Even from the very first scene of
the play Dysart himself makes this internal conflict and his self discovery clear describing
himself as all reined up in old language and old assumptions, straining to jump clean hoofed on to
a whole new track of being I only suspect is there (Shaffer 10). This sentence summarily defines
Dysart s journey throughout the story and hints to a bigger message to be taken from the play:
society and its inhabitants are the ones chained by their old ideas just as he is. Shaffer uses Dysart
specifically to make comments on how established institutions such as psychiatry and religion
propagate the concept of normalcy in

Bobby Orr Influence On Hockey
Another one of the most influential hockey players of all time is Bobby Orr. Orr was born in 1948
in Parry Sound, Canada (Orr). Bucko McDonald, a former NHL defenseman in the 30 s and 40 s,
coached the young Bobby. He believed he could be a great defenseman with lots of speed and high
stick skills as well. This turned out to be one of the beet moves for Bobby s career, as Orr played
ten seasons in the NHL. He played nine years with the Bruins, and his final year in Chicago. He
wished to play longer if it wasn t for his knees giving out on him, as he injured them both early in
his NHL career. Nevertheless, Orr was arguably called the greatest defenseman of all time for what
he did in both sides of the ice. first off, Bobby Orr showed that he is one of the most influential
hockey players in the NHL from his career statistics and records. He came into his own two years

Orr radically altered the style of hockey by introducing defensemen to the offensive side of the
game. A defenseman who scored goals, rushed the puck up ice, set up teammates with pinpoint
passes. What a revolutionary concept. (Schwartz). This is true, like no other, Orr changed the
nature of hockey. A new style of play, an offensive minded defenseman. He could go coast to
coast in the rink and score, maneuvering through the whole other team. This was not the only
way Orr impacted on the game, scoring one of the best goals of all time to win the Stanley Cup.
Orr literally went flying as he scored the game winning goal for the Bruins, a goal to be
remembered forever. A statue made of him soaring in the air outside of TD Garden, never to be
forgotten. All in all, Bobby or is one of the most influential players ever in the NHL, as seen

The Supply And Demand Market Essay
The supply and demand market is a way for companies to control cost and work with their
suppliers to create a supply line that provides the materials for their products; to produce their
products at a cost that will allow them to price and sell it to consumers and make a profit. In the
supply and demand market Honda started out using the fixed factory model that has allowed Honda
to go from importing motorbikes to the United States to making automobiles in the United States as
well as some of their other products. Hondas supply line started in Japan and has expanded all over
the world in almost every country in the world by making the products they sell in their different
factories. Honda motor company operates 31 different facilities in the United States alone to
manufacture their products using domestic and globally sourced parts. (world.honda.com/news
/2015) With Honda expanding their supply chain in different countries they have been able to cut
down on the importing and exporting of their products made by the Honda Motor Company. With
Honda being started in 1964 they have transitioned from not only making motorbikes to making
automobiles, all terrain vehicles, jets, lawn equipment, motor sports, and power equipment and with
the increase of products their supply chain has changed. Honda started out in Japan with one factory
making motorbikes then it progressed into a company that made automobiles in the same factory in

Question #1: Let us assume that a full feature movie in MP4 format has a size of 2.4GB. How
long would it take to download such a movie over: a)a T1 connection b)a T3 connection c)a
cable modem with 2Mbps connection d)a telephone modem of 56Kbps Answer #1: Before
specifically talk about how long the 2.4GB will take to completely get downloaded, I would like
to talk about the difference between Byte (B) and bits (b) first. A bit is a single number or a
single value which can be either 0 or 1 and this value is represent the digital information. A byte
is a sequence of bits; like a sequence of digital information, usually eight bits equals to one byte.
Now coming to the question, whenever you are downloading any file or software over internet it
takes time to get downloaded depending on the downloading speed of your internet connection.
Similarly, if we refer to the question and assume to download a MP4 format movie of total size
2.4GB (gigabytes), the downloading time of our movie will depend on the type of connection we
are using. Below are few types of connection which can tell how long... Show more content on

Perfume, By Patrick Suskind Essay
As a German writer, the reason for which Patrick Suskind wrote his critically acclaimed novel,
Perfume, in a French setting, about the French, is questionable. However, candidate answers lie in
the setting of the novel itself. Mid 18th century France, which is adjacent to Suskind s Germany,
harboured not only a national, but global revolution of politics, economics, and social norms
through the French reforms. This had plentiful influence on all aspects of Prussia since the late
17th century (when Germany was known as Prussia) to the present. This stepping stone to a change
in practicality lied in the French Revolution and the change of identity that it instilled upon the
populace. An exploration of Grenouille and perfume in Perfume reveals their symbolism of the
critical transition from religious prominence, to humanistic considerations, to nihilistic extremes
that ensued national and global chaos after the French Revolution to represents its influence on
Germany and its constituent populace.
Perfume s mid 18th century setting boasts a religious presence through the Kingship rights
employed by Roman Catholic Church doctrines, that was gradually diminishing due to an Age of
Enlightenment paradigm shift and an introduction of humanistic and nihilistic views from the
French Revolution. In past and present days, perfume has been a symbol of religion and divine
transcendence. Incense is often depicted as a transcendent connection to God in the form of smoke
and scent,

Contractuality As A Means Of Conformity Analysis
reveal that we are more likely to conform when we are made to feel incompetent or insecure, are
in a group with at least three people, are in a group in which everyone else agrees, admire the
group status and so on (Myers DeWall, 2014). In essence, it means that in order to break from the
accepted norm, it would mean to slow things down for others. If you find yourself walking down
a crowded street and suddenly everyone drops down, almost certainly your first impulse is to drop
down along with them although with a delayed response. The cost for a person to drop down with
the crowd unexpectedly certainly outweighs the potential danger that is implied. There are many
ways an individual can find themselves in a situation to conform. To conform... Show more content

Muzafer Sherif saw this as a situation in which an individual can be influenced by suggestion. To
ready his experiment, he first placed participants individually inside a dark room and had them
approximate the distance the light traveled. Consistently these participants, individually, came up
with the approximation of 2 6 inches (Dewy, 2007). When the next round of the experiment came,
Sherif placed participants with others effectively creating a group. As the participants reanalyzed
the light, their perception eventually became aligned with the others in the room to more of an
average of 4 inches (Dewy, 2007). For the final installment, the participants were again individually
placed into a room by themselves and asked to reanalyze the light. The participants who were
previously exposed to the group setting and had a fixed notion that the light was moving 2 inches
now concluded that the light moved 4 inches (Dewy, 2007). The participants had conformed to the
group norms instead of what they really though. The participants desire to conform was strong that
they increased their conformities to fit into the group.
Conclusion
Cognitive dissonance is when we try to limit and reduce our feeling of discomfort when two
opposing thoughts clash (Myers DeWall, 2014). This often involves human individuality and
conformity.

The purpose of this experiment was to mimic and understand the methodology behind beer
production and beer analysis. The type of beer produced was based on being a Paulener Weissbier
clone. Furthermore, this type of homemade beer followed the extract brewing methodology for beer
production. The analysis of beer consists of measuring various key factors that the beer industries
use to assert the quality of beer. These characterizations of a product are alcohol percentage, SRM
Colour, International bitter units and specific gravity.
It is important to address that for this specific lab alcohol percentage was replaced with total
carbohydrates. This was done since alcohol percentage was extremely hard to quantify with the

  • 2. Essay On City Planners Those moving from big cities to smaller cities like College Station could have trouble adjusting to the lifestyle and surrounding environment at first. Since College Station and Bryan cities are mainly the second home to thousands of college students, therefore, city planners did not focus much on the entertainment aspect for the people that live here. The main entertainment that college students would be able to enjoy around here is going to the cinema during the weekends. Unlike small, growing cities like College Station and Bryan, big cities like Austin, Dallas and Houston are often act as magnets that attract many businesses to come to the city. The reason that businesses show up to big cities was because they know for sure that their... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... After observing and collecting the demographic data using U.S. Census, we then compared the data to the city of Austin s demographic data. By comparing the City of College Station and Bryan to the city of Austin, urban planners would be able to determine whether Dave and Buster s would be successful if they open a new location here. The reason that Austin was used as the standard measurement was because there is a Dave and Buster s in Austin that is successfully attract people from a variety range of age. First, we looked at the areas population. Based on the U.S. Census collected in 2010, the total population in the city of College Station is 93,857 people and the total population in the city of Bryan is 76,201 people. Compared to Austin, the combined population of both the City of College Station and the City of Bryan is approximately six times the Austin s population. Based on this factor alone, we could say that the Dave and Buster s does have the potential of being successful in the areas of College Station and Bryan. However, other factors should be taken in consideration before making any final decision. The second factor that we used is the age groups among the cities. Looking at different age groups in the community is critical because businesses are often provide services to only a certain amount of age groups. For example, it is not appropriate to have an amusement park in a community where the ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 3. Descartes Certainty Descartes wish to do this and that is, to guard against everything that creeps in his mind, to suspend all his judgement, and sets out to look or find something that lies beyond all doubt because he wants to discredit or to prove false of the notion that nothing can be known with certainty in order to begin by presupposing nothing and by taking nothing for granted. In my own opinion, I strongly consider his reason for doing this as reasonable because its intention is to create a body of knowledge, and Descartes never intended to set aside all of his opinions but just cast doubts on this opinions that are based on some preconceived notion so he will be able to stand back in order to see the truth in itself. I consider Descartes epistemological project important because it is extremely important to conduct our own investigation to the warrant for what we believe by means of doubting everything until we find anything certain or until it has been shown to be an acceptable belief for us. How can we acquire knowledge of truth without certainty? That is why it is important that we should not believe in anything that we cannot be certain of. The conclusions that Descartes draw from this testimony ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Why? Because there are no certain indications that distinguish whether one is just dreaming or one is fully awake. In order to establish that someone is not dreaming, suppose he is given a test that he can perform successfully ONLY when he is awake and not dreaming, but it is true that any possible test performed could be the case that someone is merely dreaming in performing that test. I think that Descartes reasoning about this is correct because anything that we can experience when we are awake, we can also experience or perform it in our dreams, so giving someone a test cannot serve as a guarantee of authenticity of the test that determine whether or not he is ... Because these girls were speaking French I couldn t understand them so I decided to observe heavily on the group of kids dancing in the square. The next group of adolescent I observed were a group of black teenage males wearing matching red jumpsuits and tennis shoes setting up orange cones to perform on the street, I don t believe they have permission to section off a part of the sidewalk. Before the performance began the kids were yelling out in the square for attention and making jokes about what they do. Since there are so many people watching these games, advertisinghas become more and more apart of every baseball stadium due to the amount of exposure a company can receive by using the many types of ads found in a baseball stadium. Merchandise Merchandise is probably one of the most common forms of advertising in a baseball stadium. First you have the souvenir shops inside all of the ballparks that sell shirts and hats with the team s logos and the stadiums name on them. This makes the fans a walking advertisement for the stadium and team. Food is the next form of advertising in baseball stadiums followed by beverages. These two go hand in hand with one another because when people buy a hotdog they usually want to wash it down with an ice cold beer. Hotdogs and beer have almost become a tradition in the fact that when you go to ballparks those are the top two items fans purchase the most. Lastly you have the vendors walking around yelling out the name of beer they are selling along with hotdogs and peanuts. For example, Wrigley Field is known for their Old Style beer so when the vendor is yelling out get your ice cold Old Style they are advertising for the beer company and giving them good exposure throughout the game. Airplanes Airplanes are another way marketers reach a large crowd at one time by using fly by advertisements. These were more effective and used a lot more before technology began to take over. • 11. Comparison Of Halo And Call Of War Let s analyze this. Halo and its single player campaign held a vast universe and followed the Spartan warriors into battle to save the Earth from the alien invasion of 2 different races while Call of Duty has switched from World War 2 and the Modern era. I must say, the World War 2 story lines were quite boring, being the same in almost every way, but the Modern Warfare story line caught my attention. With the evil villain Makarov and the twists and turns the story made in Modern Warfare 2, I was on the edge of my seat. But, Halowas in every way better in the single player front. Following genetically enhanced Spartan warriors into battle fighting off hordes of aliens I was amazed with how deep the story got and how Bungieused every asset they could to enhance the story further in a not so crazy way. Ah co op. The lovely days of playing a game with a friend right beside you on a Saturday will never be forgotten. • 12. The Ordinary Cdbs Is Relation Database System This paper describes the ordinary CDBS is Relation Database System (RDBS), which has the great system for transactions processing and locking. Locking mechanism in DDBS is similar to that in RDBS, but it is more complex because of data distribution and transaction concurrence in distributed database system. state that the Locktable and Two stage Locking convention (2PL) are utilized as a part of Relation DatabaseManagement System (RDBMS) with multi granularity convention for accessing operation of lock scheduler. The lock table correspondence describes each element that s locked in the lock table. There are 3 locking models for RDBMS namely DB2,Oracle,Sqlserver 2005. Row level shared locks allow multiple users to read data, but do not allow any users to change that data.Table level shared locks allow multiple users to perform read and write operations on the table, but do not allow any users to perform DDL operations.Multiple users can hold shared locks simultaneously. An exclusive lock allows only one user/connection to update a particular piece of data (insert, update, and delete). When one user has an exclusive lock on a row or table, no other lock of any type may be placed on it. Each Xact must obtain a S (shared) lock on object before reading, and an X (exclusive) lock on object before writing. A transaction can release its locks once it has performed its desired operation (R or W). A transaction cannot request additional locks once it releases any locks. All locks ... • 13. Analysis Of Nancy Reagan s Just Say No I recently read and analyzed a speech given by Nancy Reagan entitled Just Say No . In the late 1980s, around the time that Nancy Reagan gave her speech the U.S was facing a major drug problem. During that time a new drug, cocaine, was recently introduced. Because this new drug was cheap and addictive, youth drug addictions became a major problem. As a result of the drug problems many people spoke out against it, one of these individuals was Nancy Reagan in her Just Say No Speech (Decades of Drug Use: The 80s and 90s, 2002). After analyzing he r speech I feel it was successfully persuasive. In the speech Nancy Reagan described how bad drugs can be, she described how the citizens of the United States can work together to solve this problem, and finally she described what life will be like for young people if they grow up and do not do drugs. (Reagan, 1986) In her speech Nancy Reagan describes the negative effects that drugs can have on the not only the people that do the drugs, but the nation as a whole. The way she describes this is by using the persuasive strategy arguments from generalization. This means that the speaker makes a generalization and assumes that what happened in the example that the speaker gave is likely to hold true in other examples (Nelson, P., Titsworth, 2009). The way Nancy Reagan does this is by giving a specific example in paragraph two about a young boy she came in contact with while traveling around to gain information about the ... • 18. Sensory Division Research Paper Sensory Input, Integration, and Motor Output Sensory receptors detect when a hot spoon touches your skin which is caused by the sensory input. Once the receptors feel the input the nervous system decides what to do about it; this is integration. Motor output is what is done about the input, whether you scream or jerk away from the hot spoon. So the response that you get from the integration is the motor output when is acts upon the body. Central Nervous System The central nervous system is made of the brain and spinal cord, where the brain is the control center for integration and motor output. Peripheral Nervous System The PNS is all the nerves that come off of the brain and spine, acting as the communicator for the rest of the body. The PNS can work in both directions. Sensory Division The afferent division, picks up sensory stimuli; telling the brain that something is happening to your body. When the hot spoon touches your arm, the sensory division sends a message through the PNS to the brain saying that s what s happening. Motor Division Also known as the efferent division, sends directions from your brain to the muscles and glands. So when the hot spoon touches you and your sensory division sends the message of what s happening, the brain will send back a signal making you move your arm away or scream. • 20. Analysis Of The Stimulus Material Given I Saw A... From reading the stimulus material given I saw a relationship between the disappearance of language and technological advancements. In the Self Portrait Along the Borderline Between Mexico and the United States by Frida Khalo a painting that shows the differences between Mexico and America in the 1900s, there appears to be a difference of culture between America and Mexico. America is more modern, as Mexico is more classic. America s modernization is shown in the different factories in the background, and Mexico s classicism is shown through the ancient Mexican temple in the background. As stated in Vanishing Voices , written by Russ Rymer, As modern inventions like cars enters their world, the Seris tend to adapt their language rather than import Spanish words. Erica Barnett uses an abandoned car as a hothouse to grow mangroves to replenish an estuary (21). Rymer is stating that with new technologies, people need to adapt. I believe that not only do people need to adapt, but also governments need to be more accustomed to advances in technology. With the introduction of the Internet many governments need to change. This change would come through passing different laws which would censor the Internet and in doing so, limit freedom of speech, because this is widely controversial in the US. I began to look at why this is so controversial. According to Andrea Leadsom, a Conservative Member of Parliament for South Northamptonshire, the Internet should be censored for the kids. ... Henry Moore Two Large Forms Analysis Two Large Forms Every few decades there is a new form of art that is considered to be modern so it would be difficult to say that I dislike modern art however, present day s rendition of modern art is something I am definitely not a fan of. I say this because the problem of everything s been done before has surfaced more than ever so artists nowadays are trying to create pieces of art that are a fine line away from not being considered art at all, respectively seeing as Art is everything . I recently saw an art piece a couple of years ago, at the Art Gallery of Ontario, and it was a sculpture of a pile of shoes. Approaching the statues, they seem to just be large bronze masses on the corner of McCaul street but, as any art should be looked at, I decided to dig deeper than the superficial. The location is odd to me, mainly because the bronze forms are not alone in the corner of the building, but are not really impacted by its surroundings. The trees behind the statue are dead giving a desolate atmosphere invoking a sense of loneliness. Moreover, almost the entire area surrounding the piece is solid concrete, giving a very penitential outlook. A Report On The River Discharge Essay The Apalachicola River discharge was about an order or two higher in a wet season (March 23 25, 2015) than in a dry season (November 2 4, 2015) (Figure 8a 8b). Furthermore, the river discharge increased progressively in March, whereas it altered a little in November except after November 4, 2015. The predicted tidal heights showed relatively similar micro tidal environment in both surveys; however the ebb tidal periods were much stronger in March than in November (Figure 8c 8d). Weak to average winds (2.85 В± 0.97 ms 1 in March and 2.29 В± 1.68 ms 1 in November) were observed during the field measurements. Nonetheless, sustained periods of cold northerly winds in March and warm southerly winds in November could have affected the field and satellite measurements at some stations, e.g., by sediment re suspension and wavy sea state (black boxes, Figure 8e 8f). Tidal forcing was likely the major factor to control the diurnal variation in salinity and water level in both the seasons (Figure 8c 8d). Moreover, moderate winds could have affected salinity and water level above the tidal height either by pushing river water towards the bay or by introducing shelf water into the bay (e.g. black boxes in Figure 8) (Huang et al. 2002a; Huang et al. 2002b). Dry Bar and Cat Point salinity stations were located close to river mouth (Figure 1); however, they showed considerable variations in salinity during the study period (Figure 8g 8h). During this time the Roman Empire was still composed mainly of pagans. Although the population of Christians was on the rise, in the beginning of the fourth century Christians made up only 10 percent of the population in the Roman Empire. There were approximately five million Christian in the Roman Empire meaning that they were still the minority (Waldron). His conversion was an important turning point not only for Christians but also for the Roman Empire as a whole. Although most Romans still believed in Greco Roman religions, Constantine decided to become a Christian because he knew that it would be beneficial for his role as emperor. His conversion was prompted by his desire to end the tetrarchy structure of he Roman Empire and to become the sole ruler of the Roman Empire. The story of Constantine s conversion was told through Eucbuius of Caersera. His recount of the story is skewed by his bias. In today s world, most transfers of resources occur through contracts and require agreements as to how, where, and at what price the transfer will occur at some time in the future. Professor Chrisman has advertised that he has a hog (not to be confused with a pig), worth $100 to him, for sale and now has two potential purchasers. Buyer one, Professor Todd, has offered to purchase the hog today from $150 (he is risk adverse and believes that price of pigs is going to increase drastically over the next year). Buyer two, Professor Hesch, has offered to purchase the hog next Saturday at graduation for $200. If Professor Chrisman lives in a system without contract law he will accept Professor Todd s offer of $150 today because he will be worried that Professor Hesch will change his mind before graduation and Professor Todd will have bought another hog. The law s failure to enforce contract law has caused an inefficient misallocation of resources because Professor Chrisman cannot enforce the promise made by Professor Hesch and will not be incentivized to take the risk of selling the hog to him. The single purpose and goal of all contract law is to impose contract liability only where it creates incentives to encourage value maximizing conduct in the future. ... • 41. Analyzing Hilda Doolittle s Poem Helen HELENNNNNN Helen of Troy is a prominent character in Greek mythology who is known for her beauty which caused the Trojan War. She is often viewed as a one dimensional character who singularly represents beauty. However, in Hilda Doolittle s poem entitled Helen , she uses an analysis of the image of Helento support feminism. Her poem, written with three stanzas, describes a change in Helen s personal state in order to emphasize the negative effects of assuming that beauty indicates an absence of personality. Doolittle begins by describing, in simple terms, Greece s unanimous hate towards the character Helen, whose beauty tears apart Greece. By describing Helen as still and white, Doolittle conveys strong imagery of a conspicuous lack of motion. All Greece hates / the still eyes in the white face... where she stands... (H.D. 2 4). Furthermore, Greece reacts with disgust to Helen s smile, creating the sense that Greece wants to deny Helen all movement, feelings, and life. The Greeks are said to hate her even more when she remembers past enchantments / and past ills (H.D. 10 11). Helen is likely remembering Troy, where her actions destroyed Greece. Calling the Trojan War a past ill for Helen is a direct contrast to the unsaid ills the Greeks suffered in the same war, which were much greater, at least in terms of life and death. Greece seems to think that whenever Helen does anything, she causes trouble or reminds people of the trouble she has caused. • 42. A Report On The Sub Machine Gun Introduction: From the incident, it can be reasonably suggested that the weapon must be small and concealable with a quick fire rate in order to eliminate two targets at once. The perforating wounds, wounds with entry and exit wounds, also suggest a high velocity firearm although the metal fragments in the wound from Victim 2 imply the bullet can be easily fragmented. The Heckler and Koch MP7 sub machine gun with 4.6 x 30mm frangible SX ammunition coincides with this evidence, especially with the accompanying accessories; a HK MP7 Silencer and Brasscatcher, which further benefits the shooter by creating minimal disturbance and leaving negligible ballistic evidence behind. Once firing began the shooter loses the sightline and accuracy to the target therefore the bullets begin to spread out due to the recoil and the constant discharge of bullets. However due to the second victim only having two wounds the gun must be able to operate in single shot as well as in an automatic mode a sub machine gun. The weapon must be small and concealable as the firer had to travel to an alleyway unnoticed; the HK MP7 has a length of 340mm with the stock closed (Maxim Popenker, 1999 2015), however adding the HK MP7 Silencer which is needed to reduce the noise from firing in order to remain undetected in a potentially public area, the length increases by a further 222mm (Airsoft 2015) making the overall weapon length over 700mm when firing. Due to this greater length this makes the firearm much more difficult to hide which increases the chance considerably for the target to react and disarm the shooter or escape. The HK MP7 has a mass of 1.7kg with a 20 round magazine (Maxim Popenker, 1999 2015) hence a suitable choice as it is easily manoeuvrable (being fairly light) which makes it simple to handle and operate for all users. Although, due to the addition of the silencer and the brass catcher, the mass increases to over 2.5kg thus becoming more awkward to carry and to hide discreetly, especially if the shooter was a more petite build. In Equus, Alan and Dysart s relationship offers an interesting picture of the journey to enlightenment about what normality truly means. Dysart s character becomes increasingly complex as he finds himself drawn to Alan s passionate struggle for worship. Michael Hinden identifies this complexity as Dysart s trying to dissuade his counterpart from his destructive course (55) using the idea of Dysart possessing two conflicting parts of himself borne of this struggle between normalcy, which has always been the driving force of his career, and a new passion not accepted by society s definition of right and good . Even from the very first scene of the play Dysart himself makes this internal conflict and his self discovery clear describing himself as all reined up in old language and old assumptions, straining to jump clean hoofed on to a whole new track of being I only suspect is there (Shaffer 10). This sentence summarily defines Dysart s journey throughout the story and hints to a bigger message to be taken from the play: society and its inhabitants are the ones chained by their old ideas just as he is. • 50. Perfume, By Patrick Suskind Essay As a German writer, the reason for which Patrick Suskind wrote his critically acclaimed novel, Perfume, in a French setting, about the French, is questionable. However, candidate answers lie in the setting of the novel itself. Mid 18th century France, which is adjacent to Suskind s Germany, harboured not only a national, but global revolution of politics, economics, and social norms through the French reforms. This had plentiful influence on all aspects of Prussia since the late 17th century (when Germany was known as Prussia) to the present. This stepping stone to a change in practicality lied in the French Revolution and the change of identity that it instilled upon the populace. An exploration of Grenouille and perfume in Perfume reveals their symbolism of the critical transition from religious prominence, to humanistic considerations, to nihilistic extremes that ensued national and global chaos after the French Revolution to represents its influence on Germany and its constituent populace. Perfume s mid 18th century setting boasts a religious presence through the Kingship rights employed by Roman Catholic Church doctrines, that was gradually diminishing due to an Age of Enlightenment paradigm shift and an introduction of humanistic and nihilistic views from the French Revolution. In past and present days, perfume has been a symbol of religion and divine transcendence. Incense is often depicted as a transcendent connection to God in the form of smoke and scent, ... • 51. Contractuality As A Means Of Conformity Analysis reveal that we are more likely to conform when we are made to feel incompetent or insecure, are in a group with at least three people, are in a group in which everyone else agrees, admire the group status and so on (Myers DeWall, 2014). In essence, it means that in order to break from the accepted norm, it would mean to slow things down for others. If you find yourself walking down a crowded street and suddenly everyone drops down, almost certainly your first impulse is to drop down along with them although with a delayed response. The cost for a person to drop down with the crowd unexpectedly certainly outweighs the potential danger that is implied. There are many ways an individual can find themselves in a situation to conform. To conform... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Muzafer Sherif saw this as a situation in which an individual can be influenced by suggestion. To ready his experiment, he first placed participants individually inside a dark room and had them approximate the distance the light traveled. Consistently these participants, individually, came up with the approximation of 2 6 inches (Dewy, 2007). When the next round of the experiment came, Sherif placed participants with others effectively creating a group. As the participants reanalyzed the light, their perception eventually became aligned with the others in the room to more of an average of 4 inches (Dewy, 2007). For the final installment, the participants were again individually placed into a room by themselves and asked to reanalyze the light. The participants who were previously exposed to the group setting and had a fixed notion that the light was moving 2 inches now concluded that the light moved 4 inches (Dewy, 2007). The participants had conformed to the group norms instead of what they really though. The participants desire to conform was strong that they increased their conformities to fit into the group. Conclusion Cognitive dissonance is when we try to limit and reduce our feeling of discomfort when two opposing thoughts clash (Myers DeWall, 2014).
