The Relationship Between Art And The Renaissance Art
The connection between art and science is one of the most characteristic features of the
Renaissance culture. The truthful image of the world and man had to be based on their knowledge,
so the cognitive beginning played an especially important role in the art of this time. Naturally, the
artists sought support in the sciences, often stimulating their development.
The Renaissance is a time of great discoveries, great masters and their outstanding works. It is
marked by the appearance of a whole galaxy of artists scientists, among whom Leonardo da Vinciis
the first.
Fine art in the Renaissance reaches unprecedented heyday. This is due to the economic upsurge,
with a huge shift that has occurred in the minds of people who have turned to the cult of earthly
life and beauty. The visual art of the Renaissance in many ways represents a contrast to the
medieval. It marks the emergence of realism for a long time determined the development of
European artistic culture. This affected not only the spread of secular images, the development of
portrait and landscape or a new, sometimes almost genre interpretation of religious subjects, but
also in the radical renewal of the entire artistic system. In the Renaissance, an objective image of
the world was seen by the eyes of a man, so one of the important problems facing artists was the
problem of space. In Italy, already in the first half of the century, a scientific theory of linear
perspective based on geometry and optics was created.

The Pros And Cons Of Egoism
Egoism is the theory that one ought to do what is in one s self interest. One is to maximize their
own self interest and potential. One cannot prosper if they contain their own interests and needs in
order to satisfy the interests of others. Once morality is obtained by one protecting their personal
interests and content with it, then they are able to satisfy the interests of others. Egoismis similar to
that anything that would aid in survival is good and anything that hampers survival is evil. There
are two types of egoism, psychological or descriptive egoism and ethical or normative egoism.
Psychological egoismis that humans are only driven by self interest. For example if one were to
help another human being, the sole reason is because the individual directly or indirectly benefits
from this experience. Ethical egoismis that it is significant and acceptable for an action to be morally

Thomas Hobbes argues that egoism is valid through a sense of morality and that an individual
will end up being altruistic through his views of egoism. Ayn Rand another famous philosopher
states that one can only be either altruistic or egoistic. One cannot be both. Ayn Rand believes an
individual has value and that the only philosophy that states that an individual has self worth is
egoism. Ethical egoism is often based off the fact that psychological egoism is true and this entails
that we always act egotistically and cannot prevent ourselves from acting this way. An example of
this would be if one were to donate to a charity that helps little kids. In terms of psychological
egoism the individual didn t donate money to the charity to help kids, that would altruistic, one did
it because one wanted to. Another reason to why

5 Pillars Of Islam Essay
Hello, Asalamu Alaykum wa Rahmatoellaahi wa Barakatoe.
As you can see I am writing this week about the Five Pillars in Islam.
Islam is based on five pillars. The five pillars of iп»їslam are Shahada, Salah, Zakah, Sawm and

Shahada
The word Shahada means the islamic profession of faith. This means that you believe and testify
that there is only one God, Allah the Almighty and in His Messenger Muhammadpeace be upon
him. If you want to convert to Islam you have to say the Shahada. The Shahada has to be

The Roe V. Wade
Before the 1973 ruling of the case of Roe v Wade, the estimated average number of illegal abortions
every year ranged from 200,000 to 1.5 million. The methods used were violently dangerous
including women ingesting toxic substances such as bleach and detergents which often times was
ineffective. Women around the country were concerned that the anti abortion laws conflicted with
a person s right to privacy and equal protection given by the Fourth and Fourteenth Amendments of
the Constitution. Gale University s William Sullivan explains The right to abort unborn children is
not specifically protected by the Constitution, and prior to 1973, abortion legislation had been

Alternatively, McCorvey s friends encouragingly suggested she lie and say that her pregnancy
was the result of her being raped. McCorvey was not able to provide evidence of which would
prove her claim of rape to be true so she was not granted the right to abort her fetus. She then was
left with a limitation of options, one being an illegal abortion clinic that she soon found out had
been shut down by the police, and the other option being an old abandoned building where
McCorvey stated dirty instruments were scattered around the room, and there was dried blood
on the floor. McCorvey believed it was against the constitutional rights of american citizens to
restrict the rights of abortion. These restricting laws were believes by many women to trap them
into unfavorable alternatives such as self abortion or abortions performed by unlicensed beings
with unsanitary surroundings and equipment. Desperate, McCorvey agreed to participate in a
lawsuit against Henry Wade in efforts to make a difference for women around the world with the
hopes of retaining her anonymity. An article on encyclopedia.com concerning the Roe v Wade
case and it s background states, McCorvey chose to remain anonymous for several reasons: she
feared publicity would hurt her five year old daughter, her parents were against abortion, and she
had lied about being raped (p.9) thus Norma McCorvey was known as Jane Roe in the now
infamous case of as Roe v.

Strategic Adoption Implementation Of Cloud
Strategic Adoption implementation of Cloud in Indian Railways, India: A case study.
Introduction:
Indian Railways (IR), the largest rail network in Asia and the world s second largest under one
management, spanning over 6000 stations, carries 17 million passengers every day. Only a million
passengers travel with reserved seat tickets, and the remaining 16 million passengers travel each
day without a confirmed seat. While reserved ticketing technology is enabled, unreserved ticketing
was done primitively using printed cards(Sybase, 2014) .

With the increase in population the number of passengers willing to travel daily are increasing
abruptly and now the situations are getting that worse. People don t bother about they either have
ticket or not, they knowingly not only entered the train without ticket or unconfirmed, waiting
ticket, but also travel in reservation compartment. Also the bribery and black marketing of
tickets are the very important factor that come into role nowadays and also the numbers of daily
up downers either for job or study has been increased a lot from villages to the nearby major
cities. Thus all these situations leads to an overloaded train, full of extra passengers and causes
lots of harm to the railway, passengers and Indian economy too (Bhatia, Lala, Chaurasia, 2012). I
would like to propose some updates in Indian railway technology and adaptation of these measures
will surely help them to achieve their goals.

Essay about Comapring Porters 5 Forces for the Airline...
Assignment # 1
Strategic Practice Exercise: (page #81)
1. Score each competitive force in the airline industry and provide a brief rationale for your
assessment.
В·Rivalry Among Existing Firms: (High)
When one major company in an industry makes a change in costs or services that could
potentially increase their clientele, a major competitor almost always follows suit. Price matching
is a prime example of that, therefore the threat is high. West Jet is one company that offers flights
at a discount and forced Air Canada to create new banners to compete with the discounted prices.
All major companies and firms in an industry watch each other s every move very carefully, and
match any move with a countermove. During slow season in the airline ... Show more content on

Therefore, the threat of substitution is a significant factor in the airline industry. However, if a
customer has to travel very quickly or a significant distance, that person would most likely choose
the flight option instead of a cheaper alternative.
В·Bargaining Power of Buyers/Distributors: (Medium)
Bargaining power is a tricky one because it can work both ways. Buyers have a certain level of
power in any industry. A buyer may switch suppliers very easily if there are no penalties and it is
cost effective for them. If a large firm makes a large purchase of goods from another firm, it may
be mutually beneficial and if serviced well, have the potential for repeat business. However, the
buyer then has the power to use a substitute or competitor which would negatively affect the
seller. Buyers are always the more powerful of the two because some buyers have the ability to
put pressure on lower costs from suppliers, while demanding an increase of the quality of
products or services provided to them. Also, the bargaining power in industries with high fixed
costs like the airline industry can play a big factor. On the other hand, things like jet engines, tires
and other key safety devices on aircrafts can cause severe consequences if this equipment
malfunctions. For that reason, the buyer has a reduced amount of bargaining power with suppliers
in this industry. The bargaining power of buyers is both high and low, so I ranked it medium.

The Importance Of An Actor s Utility As An Ethical Values...
This strengthens the significance of an actor s utility as an ethical values and that representing self
enthusiasm for a community oriented scene can accomplish systemic moral soundness. At the point
when endeavours in Dadaab neglect to be discerning of the host actors, they encourage otherization
and methodological individualism. The host nation feels objectified and forced upon, the political
actors feel rejected and managed to, and the international actors as an exploitable sources of

statements on behalf of the police which helped their eagerness to cooperate.

Licenses are signed for a different time periods. Licensing agreements are subject to negotiation and
they vary from company to company and from industry to industry. A major disadvantage of
licensing is the company s dependence on the local licensee to generate revenues and, thus,
royalties, usually paid as a percentage on sales volume only. Another disadvantage is the resulting
uncertainty of product quality.
Franchising Its a special form of licensing in which the franchiser makes a total marketing program
available, including the brand name, logo, products, and method of operation.
Many companies find it to their advantage to manufacture locally instead of supplying the particular
market with products made elsewhere. Numerous factors such as laws, political considerations, local
costs, tariifs and market size may affect a choice to manufacture locally, so it requires fair amount of
attention before making a final decision. The local production may be contract manufacturing,

Examining Whether or not Brutus is a Hero or Villain in...
You either die a hero or live long enough to see yourself become the villain. Harvey Dent, The
Dark Knight. This quote can be assimilates to Brutus in Shakespeare s play, Julius Caesar. In a
way he died as a hero but he did live long enough and saw himself becoming the villain.
Throughout the play, Brutus had been consumed in a lot of drama and deaths. The readers can tell
the internal arguments he has with himself about it too. In William Shakespeare s play, Julius Caesar
, there are many tragic deaths, drama, and heroes and villains. The question is, who is the hero and
who is the villain. Brutus is an honorable man in this play but when Cassius, one of the main

Brutus is a devoted friend of Caesar and since they are such trusty friends, Brutus can lead
Caesar to Cassius s trap without speculating anything because he thinks Brutus is noble to him.
Once Cassius gets what he wants, Brutus to be on his side, they and some others begin to plan
how they will get to Caesar and kill him. Then when Brutus agrees to join the conspiracy to
annihilate Caesar, it is the beginning of him becoming the villain. He is still the hero though; he
only joined the conspiracy for the good of Rome. This was the noblest Roman of them all. / All
the conspirators save only he / Did that they did in envy of great Caesar. / He only in a general
honest thought / And common good to all, made one of them (V.v.68 72). This quote is said by
Antony at the end of the play. In that scene, he and Caesar s adopted son, Octavius have seen
Brutus s dead body. They have seen the good in Brutus and have noticed that he has acted out of
his love for Rome. ...not that I loved Caesar less, but that I loved Rome more (III.ii.21). That was
part of the speech Brutus gave to the citizens after he and the other conspirators killed Caesar.
This was the last act Brutus did before he started becoming more of a villain. This quote and the
quote Antony says at the end of the play are the same. They both are saying how Brutus didn t
really want to kill Caesar. He just felt like he had no choice, he saw that what Caesar was doing
was changing Rome.

Advantages Of Electric Fly Killers
How effective are electric fly killers in killing flying insects?
Nowadays, there are always flying insects that are wandering around in a certain place and
people seem to be having a very hard time catching them and killing them at the same time.
These flies are a nuisance to every person because nobody would want to have flies in the house.
People would find these flying insects flying around mostly in their homes, however, they cannot
seem to find the source of this problem. This has occurred every year and yet, people could not
find the source of these problems. Some factors that could be affecting this problem is the change
in weather of every month or season, things that are dirty that may attract flies, etc. The magnitude
of this problem may increase if a solution is not implemented to solve this problem as soon as
possible.
Application/Solution

The first one is that obviously, electric fly killers eliminate lots of flying insects right away, and it
greatly reduces the insect population around the area. There might be piles and piles of insects
within a few days, and while eventually there will be lesser insects, there is no denying that
electric fly killers play a huge impact on solving this issue. The second benefit is that similarly,
electric fly killers allow people to eliminate flying insects with few chemicals and not much
personal involvement. There is no health risk when it does not come to handling the electric fly
killers, nor there any risk of disturbing or a nest or facing an insect that people fear. Electric fly
killers are out of the way and it has limited personal involvement, so people would not need to
involve in anything when it comes to using electric fly killers. For many people, this is enough to
make these devices a popular choice for people that think of flies as a nuisance to

The Purpose of Sati in Jane Eyre Essay
The general image of Sati and the reasoning that surrounded it filled the Western imagination with
repulsion as well as admiration. In the nineteenth century, Westerners publishing diaries of their
travels always included their experiences when viewing Sati. Although these travelers, usually men,
watched with horror, they also admired the courage and the dignity of the women involved
(Hawley 3). What was known in England of Sati was from the accounts of the colonial officialsand
travelers who witnessed it (Courtright 28). It would not surprise one to assume that Charlotte
Bronte, in her drive for knowledge and her stand on women s freedom, would have taken an
interest in such an act; and indeed she incorporates it in Jane Eyre. In 1829,... Show more content on

Nothing has excited the attention of the Europeans than the burning of wives upon the funeral
piles of their husbands (Perera 91). Another important aspect of the act of Sati was that it became
an element in the vindication of British Imperialism . . . and was also used as a moral justification
to the Britishers to impose their rule on India (Perera 92).
With an attempt to distinguish between the old and the new, Charlotte Bronte creates the character
of Bertha Mason as the exhibition of female repression and desire frequently found in the East.
Bertha Rochester is the emblem of Eastern society, one which the British see as static and
barbaric, and Jane Eyre is representative of the Western Civilization. In Reaches of Empire,
Suvendrini Perera argues that if the barely human prisoner caged in the Thornfield attic is the
truest expression of women s anger and aspiration . . . [it is overlooked] that she is also the racial
Other incarnate a bestial, violent creature with an inordinate sexual appetite, caught in the
colonized West Indies and confined for her own good by a master who has appropriated both her
body and her wealth (82). If the reader only sees Bertha as the surrogate of Jane, one neglects to
take note of the enriching importance of the text s suppression of Bertha. Charlotte Bronte presents
Bertha as a sexually vigorous woman. This can be seen when Rochester indirectly describes

Adjusting to Cultural Change
Adjusting to cultural change: How U.S. business men and women have to adjust to various cultural
changers to succeed in the international market.
Abstract
Culture inevitably influences the needs and desires of consumers of particular countries and
socialized groups, consequently, businesses, in order to succeed have to be aware of cultural

Algol was most widely used in the academic community, which thusly led to its widespread usage.
P: begin integer h, i; real array A[1:5], B[1:5, 1:2]; for i := 1 step 1 until 5 do
A[I] := 6 i; h := 1
Loop: if h *= 5 then begin B[h,1] := 1;
B[h,2] := 5 + 3 * (h A[h]); h := h + 1; go to Loop end end P
(Parsons)
The similarity between such modern languages as Pascal and Modula 2 and Algol proves it
influential to the programming community, even today. Algol also introduced the concept of free
format, a concept that allows programmers to arrange the code any way they want (assuming the
syntax is correct) (Parsons). This concept proves itself useful today in making source code easier to
read and eliminating the problem of spaghetti code (code written in an unreadable fashion, or strung
together as spaghetti is).

defined by a program unit containing both data and associated functions ) (Overland, 3). Its
development was initiated between 1961 and 1967. SIMULA I, appearing first in 1964, was

Cognitive Therapies And Behavioral Therapy
Cognitive behavioral therapy, on the contrary, utilizes directive consulting tools to control and
guide its patients. These include such things as asking questions, interpreting, and providing
direction to a client s attention and emotions. Aaron Beck developed cognitive therapy, an approach
that focuses on recognizing and changing negative thoughts and maladaptive beliefs into more
realistic and constructive thoughts and beliefs (Erford, 2014). It is believed that cognitive
behavioral therapyis manipulative in nature. Cognitive behavioral therapy has two main
components, these are cognitive therapies and behavioral therapies. Cognitive therapies are
concerned with how a client interprets the world around them, such as their environment and the
situations with which they are faced with, as well as how these interpretations shape their
emotional states and how they respond to them. Basically cognitive therapyfocuses on the clients
thought processes. It analyzes how the client thinks, why the client thinks a certain way, and strives
to changes these patterns in a positive and nurturing way to produce proper emotional states to
replace the current maladaptive process that cause disharmony within and for the client. Behavioral
therapy is the next step in the counseling process. Its focus is on action instead of thought, and
gives the therapist effective tools to assist the client in the production of positive behavioral
patterns. This is done by rewarding positive changes in

For This Project, I Worked With Brandon Bowers To Begin
For this project, I worked with Brandon Bowers to begin a donation food drive for the local
domestic violence and sexual assault shelter in Murfreesboro, the Bernard House. We discussed
the project and picked the Bernard House in late March. When I called, they said that they
always needed nonperishable food items, and there was a list of items they were asking for
during an Easter food drive that we used in our flyers. On April 5th, I got in contact with a local
grocery store and picked up boxes for us to put all of the nonperishable food in. On April 9th, I
decorated all of the boxes and made them visible and more appealing, in hopes that more people
would donate, with a flyer that Brandon made placed on each of them. Brandon and I then... Show

So, when Brandon came to me with the idea of doing a donation drive, I thought it would be a
good way of helping women outside of volunteering at an organization. I wanted to do something
with a local group, and after seeing the Vagina Monologues this semester and hearing the
monologues about sexual assault and intimate partner violence, I thought that helping women who
have been victims of such violence would be very important work. I found the Bernard House,
which is very close to campus, and got in contact with them. This project has elicited a mix of
happiness and frustration. It made me really happy when people were receptive to what we
were trying to do. Having professors around campus be very supportive and encouraging when
we asked to place boxes in their buildings, as well as the student support we received as we
passed out flyers, explained the project, and asked for donations, was very rewarding. On
occasion, students would tell us how much they appreciated our project because it was for such a
good cause, and many students donated money, which I was not expecting because of the general
lack of cash that college students carry around with them. I feel very passionate about helping
these women, and I want this donation drive to be very helpful for the shelter. So, when people
showed the same passion for the cause, it was very driving and affirming. However, there were
times when

Youth Culture And Culture
Youth culture changes over time, with every generation, comes new fads and trends. Teenagers
and young adults, usually gravitate towards what is popular. Fashion, movies, television, music,
religion, sexuality, and diversity are all part of today s youth culture. Things that are becoming
more acceptable. Music plays a huge role in all cultures because music is mostly universal. In
the 1920s there was jazz, in the 50 s there was rock, in the 70 s disco, 90 s gangster rap, in present
day, most music has some underlying message relating to what is happening in society. Some
messages in music transcend through culture and time. Today s youth demographics music taste
has evolved to pop and rap. Some rap is not articulate or pleasing to the ear, to put it lightly it
sounds bad. Generation Z, today s youth culture, is more open to accepting and admitting change
and diversity. There are many public figures that promote these things; Angelina Jolie, Ellen
DeGeneres, Hillary Clinton, Lady Gaga, Bill Gates, BeyoncГ©, and President Barack Obama. One
man who preaches peace, love, and positivity through his music is Sir Robert Bryson Hall II or
otherwise known as Logic. Hip hop may not fully accept Logic, but his songs 1 800 273 8255, Take
it Back and Everybody have had an impact on current youth culture through the messages
conveyed, lyrics, and music videos. 1 800 273 8255 is a song off Logic s third studio album, track

Importance Of The 1st Amendment
In total, America has 27 Amendments all together but which one is the most important you may
ask, well that s was this is about. I believe that the 1st Amendment is the most important out of
them all . The 1st Amendment is freedom of Religion, Speech, Press, Assembly, and Petition.
Freedom of religion and speech are one of the best things a country can have and also something
everyone believes they should have. Everyone should be able to say or do anything they want
without fear. Also freedom of press is the right to publish newspapers, magazines, and other printed
matter without governmental restriction and subject only to the laws of libel, obscenity, sedition,
etc. ( www.dictionary.com) . Freedom of Assembly is The right to hold public meetings and form
associations without interference by the government. Freedom of peaceful assembly is guaranteed
by the First Amendment to the Constitution.
Last but not least is Freedom of Petition According to ( The Free Dictionary , 2017) a formal
written request to a court for an order of the court. It is distinguished from a complaint in a
lawsuit which asks for damages and/or performance by the opposing party. Petitions include
demands for writs, orders to show cause, modifications of prior orders, continuances, dismissal of
a case, reduction of bail in criminal cases, a decree of distribution of an estate, appointment of a
guardian, and a host of other matters arising in legal actions.

I. INTRODUCTION
Forest has many advantages to human life and the earth as the lungs of the world. In the economic
field, the forestry sector contributes significantly to the national income accounts. The high price
of timber in international market leds to timber exploitation in the early 90 s [S. Syarif, et.al,
2012]. It encourages illegal logging actifity, which causes adverse effects especially on the
economy and ecology fields. In the economic field, the state revenues declined due to the loss of
timber tax and the chance to produce the high quality products of timber also decreased. In
addition, the nature inbalance causes climate change, declining soil productivity, soil erosion and
flooding, habitat destruction, and loss of biodiversity. To solve the problems, the illegal logging
detection system is urgently needed. In this research, image processing and Discrete Cosine
Transform (DCT) are applied for the detection. Nowadays,

Deformation of this tissue results in depolarization of the neuron.
Both light touch and deep pressure are fast adapting senses. The bulb of connective tissue is
involved with adaptation. When deformation of these receptors first occurs, there is a burst of
electrical activity. If the stimulus is sustained, the bulb then mechanically adjusts to it, and allows
the sensory nerve to repolarize. The effect is loss of sensation. As soon as the pattern of
deformation changes, the neuron immediately depolarizes again. The overall effect is to increase
sensitivity to changes in the pattern of physical contact (touch) with the environment.
Observations to make:
Look at the photo of a Meissner s corpuscle in the book, and locate the receptor. Observe the nerve
fibers within the capsule (bulb). Notice how they are arranged parallel to the skin surface. Describe

Look at the photo of a Pacinian corpuscle. Notice the onion like bulb of connective tissue. Describe

The density of touch receptors varies with location on the body. The fingertips, toes, and lips have
the greatest density. These areas of the body have the highest tactile resolution: the ability to
discriminate between one and two points of stimulation.
You will use a two point discrimination test to compare tactile resolution (and receptor density) on
various parts of your body. An estheiometer is

My Freshman Year Of High School
My Freshman year of high school is nearing an end and I mostly stayed out of trouble, which was
a great feat at the time. Until My buddy Sam and I decided to make some money off of our
hobby . Since we were tired of running out of weed to smoke, we decided to have a bake sale.
We googled how to do it and fired up the oven and ground up the weed. After about 30 minutes of
baking and assembling crackers we had made three firecrackers, or peanut butter crackers with
specially prepared weed in them. We both decided to do some quality control on the product and
split one of the crackers and ate it. We smoked like normal and were satisfied with what we
made. We discussed the plans and decided our goal was to sell both of the firecrackers tomorrow
to make 20$ and get 2 grams to continue the cycle and once we are making a good amount
investing in a toaster oven to be more discreet. The next day, being the smart human beings we
were we smoked a bowl out of an apple at the bus stop before getting on the bus. When school
started we went to gym changed, and started to sell the firecrackers. We told everyone we knew
that smokes they were for sale and that they re 10$ apiece. No buyers. 2nd and 3rd hour roll by

Reflection On Effective Teaching
Introduction
In this analysis, my objective is to reflect on effective teaching and learning strategies and methods,
using my personal experience in the classroom, as well as wider reading/research and university
lectures, including my contextual analysis on my placement school (see appendix one).
However, since there are so many dynamics to effective teaching and learning, one cannot put a
finger on a single aspect and use that as a solution. With this in mind, I have chosen to look at two
foci in depth. These are Classroom Management and Questioning Techniques but before we analyse
these foci in depth, it is important to understand what teaching and learning are. Not only this, but it
is also essential to note they are not ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The first teacher, who also happens to be my Subject Mentor, is a very experienced staff member,
he has known the students since they started the school in Year 7, and hence he has a personal
relationship with them. Because of this, he is able to joke around with them and therefore be
slightly friendly. This works well in this particular situation, however, it does not mean it would
work for every teacher.
Secondly, the other staff member happens to be someone with a practical approach; she involves
the students very much so in her lessons but at the same time they are encouraged to work on
independently too, as she has a slightly softer approach to teaching, hence the pupils behave
differently.
Lastly, the third staff member is Assistant Headteacher he has a very informal way of teaching, to
the point where he addresses the learners by their nicknames. Furthermore, he uses slang in his
lessons for better understanding for the learners.
Why teachers use different methods has a deep connection with how learners learn.
How do learners learn?
There are different learning styles, which should be the reason behind teachers using different
teaching styles. Studies suggest it is important for people to be in the right state of mind in order to
learn. If a person is not in the right mind to learn, learning can be ineffective.

Disk space capacity
Disk throughput capacity
Locations and roles of database servers
Network requirements: all database administrators and infrastructure ought to have a stray pieces
comprehension of the topology of the system supporting the database servers on the grounds that

Optogenetic Chemogenetics
In the past decade, optogenetic and chemogenetic (Armbruster et al. 2007) approaches have
transformed neuroscience and other disciplines by facilitating the reversible, cell type specific
control of cellular signaling and electrical activity (Vardy et al. 2015). Chemogenetics and
optogenetics represent 2 emerging approaches to selectively and, unlike traditional genetherapy,
reversibly manipulate cellphenotypes via gene transfer (Jay Barkin 2014). As complementary
technologies, opto and chemogenetics have demonstrated robust utility for deconstructing the
neuronal codes responsible for both simple and complex behaviors (Deisseroth 2011).

Adamantidis 2015). It enables tunable manipulation of cell phenotypes using light (Jay Barkin
2014). The technique employs a set of microbial ion channels and pumps that activate upon
stimulation by particular wavelengths of light. After transgenic expression within neurons, these
type I opsins permit optical modulation of membrane depolarisation or hyperpolarisation with
temporal precision on the order of milliseconds (Snowball Schorge 2015). The delivery of genes
that encode proteins capable of conveying light sensitivity to neurons has provided a tool that may
overcome some of the limitations of traditional neuromodulation techniques (Henderson et al.
2009). Srivats et al designed a method to optogenetically stimulate and inhibit acute pain in both
normal and pathological states in freely moving nontransgenic mice by intrasciatic nerve injection
of adeno associated viruses encoding an excitatory opsin enabled light inducible stimulation of
acute pain, place aversion and optogenetically mediated reductions in withdrawal thresholds to
mechanical and thermal stimuli upon transdermal delievery of optical stimuli. Techniques such as
this, which eliminate the need for surgical implantation of stimulation devices, will obviously have
a tremendous impact on the speed with which optogenetic therapy can

The Executive Skills Gap And Operational Needs Of American...
The MBA Fairytale
Does the MBA address the executive skills gap and operational needs of American business
promptly and cost effectively?
Even though MBAs from the top schools earn more than business graduates with undergraduate
degrees, mid career managers are better off learning applied strategic skills than earning an MBA.
The generic classes in most programs, unrelated to current economic conditions, do not close the
executive skills gap or meet the operational needs of American business. Unless it s from a top tier
program, the lifetime value of the MBA is highly inflated.
Mid career managers are better off learning applied strategic skills than earning an MBA. They are
an endangered species! The end has come, not because Capitalism is doomed, but because of two
related phenomena: technology and the millennial generation.
Technology has altered our work habits, relationships, and roles within organizations. The classic
role of the manager was to monitor performance, offer feedback, and generate reports. Technology
now performs these tasks, leaving people with general management skills vulnerable. The
development of Agile services, associated with self managed teams and Gen Y, has further left
middle managers isolated. Rapid turnover is commonplace since the recession. Deep operational
knowledge, once associated with a lengthy tenure has evaporated.
Gen Y and the Millennials are resentful of anyone with no specific skills who acts only as a hall
monitor. These

Few years back, usage of social networking sites became popular around the world. Social
networking sites are also known as social networking website. Social networking sites (SNSs) are
increasingly attracting the attention of academic and industry researchers fascinated by their
affordances and reach. Social networking sites are web base service that building an online
community of people that share same interest, or activities and explore others people interest.
Social network sites (SNSs) such as FACEBOOK, TWITTER, MYSPACE, CYWORLD, and

Now, seems like all the population moved to FACEBOOK and MySpace now became less and less
visitors.
3) TWITTER
Twitter should be probably being at number two on this list. They average 628,759,806 inbound
links and weigh in with 23,000,000 monthly visitors, but their social impact is bigger than their
numbers. With fewer monthly visitors that MySpace, they re relegated to third. Twitter is the it
boy in social networking now, with some people leaving Facebook (way too gauche) for the
more refined twitter. The cool part about twitter is the ease with which you can find your
favorite celebs and sports figures to follow. Unlike Facebook (just trying friend with one of your
favorite musicians in Facebook) you can easily read stars and smart people s updates. Twitter
could easily take over the number one spot on this list as more and more people join.
Rounding out the list are LINKEDIN, CLASSMATES.COM, NING, BEBO, HI5.COM, TAGGED

1.2 Social Networking Sites in Malaysia In Malaysia, there is no doubt that more and more
working peoples are spending more and more of their time socializing and networking online.

Theme Of Darkness In Fahrenheit 451
In Fahrenheit 451 by Ray Bradbury, the author uses multiple motifs and symbols throughout the
novel. The main character, Guy Montag, is represented as a metaphorical light in the dark due to
his constant pursuit of knowledge. Characters such as Clarisse and Mildred affect the development
of Montag. In Bradbury s dystopian society he touches on the relevance of government censorship
as books are banned. The firefighters burn down any household that houses books because of the
government disapproves of them. Bradbury uses the motif darkness versus light to demonstrate that
knowledge is what keeps society alive through Montag s progressing characterization, Mildred s

The darkness in Montag s life is his wife, Mildred; who would much rather be dead than still in
her world of the parlor. Mildred, Montag s wife, is continuously described through the darkness
as she does not have much of a personality nor shows any interest in real life: It was like coming
into a cold dark room of a mausoleum after the moon has set. Complete darkness, not a hint of
the silver world outside, the windows tightly shut, the chamber a tomb world where no sound
from the great city could penetrate. The room was not empty (Bradbury 9). As Mildred lays in
the dark room associated with a mausoleum which she is referenced as being dead and without
thoughtful cause in a dark tightly shut room. A darkness grows around Montag as he becomes
distant of his pursuit of knowledge. Mildred gets her stomach pumped as she overdosed on
medication, proving her loss of interest for living in her attempted suicide: They had this

cobra down an echoing well looking for all the old water and the old time gathered there. It
drank up the green matter that flowed to the top in a slow boil. Did it drink up the darkness?
(Bradbury 12). Mildred influences on his mental health because he feels tethered to the watchful
eye. The watchful yet forgetful eye of Mildred causes distress for Montag as she attempts to

Manager Role in Implementing Change There are successful ways to implement changes in many
different organization and all employees need to understand how the changes will benefit them and
how it will affect their work daily. Managers within an organization that are seeking change need to

how they ever managed the old way. Overall, they feel good about the change and accept it as
the status quo from here forward. (Garrison Wynn, 2005) With these different phases that is why
it is hard to tell or determine how long changes will take to implement. If employees were not
aware that any changes were required then reaction of employee may be, why change if change
is not working or that the change was a waste of time. Mangers should be ready for the resistance
to any change, prepare for it, and make special efforts to assess and deal with individual reactions
to change. A manager or a person in leadership must develop a proper attitude toward the resistance
of change that their employee may have. Looking at the thoughts that many may have and carefully
listen to their concerns is something that managers must do to help with the resistance of the
change. Engaging many with the change should be done after fully understanding the concerns of
others. The best way to minimize resistance to change is to involve those who is responsible for
the change and those who are affected by it. Consulting employees from the areas affected first

are affected a test run of the new changes could help iron out the problem areas, get

Don Quixote As A Hero
Don Quixote, a character who is going crazy reading books that discuss heroic Knights. These
books lead Don Quixote on a journey to win over his lover, Dulcinea. Throughout Don Quixote s
journey, his intelligence is tested along with his sanity, but the one major question is what changes
his attitude toward chivalry in this novel? Chivalry, according to dictionary.com, is the sum of the
ideal qualifications of a Knight, this includes: courtesy, generosity, valor, and dexterity in arms.
Don Quixotebelieves that by bringing these qualities back into society, the world will once again
obtain its beauty. On this journey, Don Quixote is accompanied by a peasant laborer, Sancho Panza,
who Don Quixote refers to as his squire. Sancho, takes the roll of Don Quixote s squire because of
greed. Unlike the other characters in this novel, Sancho admires Don Quixote s madness, even
getting himself wrapped along in it at times. The Author uses the three main characters to
emphasize different opinions on the world and love within the world. Starting with Don Quixote
himself, he comes off both intelligent and insane at times. Imagining life the way he wishes it truly
was, many of these examples are stated in the following paragraph. Making decisions based off
what he wants not noticing the impact on others until after. This attitude ends up getting him into

In the study by Thornton, McKissick, Spooner, Lo, Anderson (2015), two high school students
with a specific learning disability (SLD) were used. The first participant was Wesley, who was 15
years old and had delays in processing information with his short term memory, along with having
difficulties with his organization skills. Wesley was placed on an individual educationplan (IEP)
under the category of SLD in reading comprehension. The second participant was Amber, who was
16 years old and has delays in reading comprehension and mathematical calculation. Amber was also
diagnosed with a visual impairment and needs her written materials enlarged.
In this study, the dependent variable was the science performance on the biology assessments. The
variable was measured through the use of the daily 10 item tests. Each assessment followed the
same format, which was: 5 matching questions with a word bank of 10 words, two multiple choice
questions with four options each, and three short answer questions which had two part response.
This study was important to do because students with disabilities struggle in core subjects,
especially science. This study was conducted to see if there is a research based way to effectively
help these students.
For this study, each daily science lesson in the biology class was given by the science teacher. The
special education teacher was in the classroom to support the science teacher. Every day, the general
education teacher and special

The Right To Privacy In The 18th Century
The right to privacy is viewed as a fundamental right all over the world. However, there are many
interpretations of what privacy is, and this interpretations are in some way related to historical
events that shaped the meaning of privacy differently for every country. Countries of the European
Union consider the right to privacy a sacred right, therefore, they have established laws to protect
the respect for private and family life and the right to personal data protection. Although United
States has some sector laws to protect privacy, the constitution does not mention privacy as
fundamental right, nonetheless, the notion of privacy can be extracted from the first 10
amendments of the constitution. Consequently, regulation of the right to privacy changes
drastically between Europe and the United States. Countries in Europe have regulatory agencies
whose only purpose is protect the privacy of its citizens. In contrast, the... Show more content on

When the first 10 amendments of the constitution were written, one of the main concerns was
government intrusion. In the 1800s, citizens were concern about the confidentiality of their
correspondence. Likewise in 1890, the concern was photography and yellow journalism. With lack
of privacy laws, citizens brought several cases to the U.S courts because they felt there were
violations of privacy. As a consequent, several torts were written and recognize by most states. This
torts included the intrusion upon seclusion, public disclosure of private facts, false light or
publicity, and appropriation. Though, historical events have help to expand the definition of
privacy, there has not been a critical event that forced America to have a comprehensive federal
policy about protecting the right to privacy. Nevertheless, every time that there is a major concern
that threatens the right to privacy, the government and the states have passed laws to eliminate those

The Wild West Rides Into The Sunset
Have you ever read a text that included items such as a bold cowboy, trusty horse, beautiful
female, or a dark villain in a dry, isolated, and undeveloped setting? If so, it s a great possibility that
you were reading a classic Western. Many readers of this genre would describe its stereotypes as
what I listed above. You can almost always find that protagonist cowboy hero, who tends to be a
good looking and sharp character that fights the dirty, rugged, evil villain in an epic climax while
trying to save his gorgeous and innocent lady. The setting is often a flat, unpopulated, and
undeveloped town, surrounded by mountains. The Western genre played a... Show more content on

However, Kolb describes Marshal Jack Potter as a nervous unarmed honeymooner, who rides a
train instead of a horse (98). In the story, Potter is described as wearing a new black suit that
most likely was purchased in San Antonio (23). This gives the reader the idea that the East
influenced the West a great deal, considering a hard nosed, sharp shooting town hero most likely
should not be wearing a new suit that was made in the East. The stereotypical western criminal
is mean, dirty, selfish, and constantly stirring up trouble. In The Bride, your criminal is
Scratchy Wilson. However, as Kolb describes, the difference between Scratchy and most other
Western villains is that Scratchy s main crime seems to be that he can t hold his liquor (98). The
eastern culture is brought up again in the story through Scratchy s clothes. You d expect to
visualize a rough and dirty character whose soul is as dark as his clothes. With Scratchy, you get
a criminal wearing a maroon colored flannel shirt that was made in New York (24). Crane uses
these characters to portray an idea to his reader s that the influence the East has on the West is far
greater than the average person would expect.
Expectations for a women in a Western story are generally perceived to be a beautiful, innocent,

assumptions of his being close to Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. This clue comes from the fact that some
of Charlie s friends and his brother attended Penn State. Also, when he drives to Ohio for Christmas
within two hours that is the probable location for his departure. Another revelation about his
location comes through his mention of the Fort Pitt Tunnel that is in Pittsburgh and this takes care

How Healthcare Is An Important Industry That Is Always Needed
Healthcare is an important industry that is always needed. Like other industries, it has to start
somewhere. Organizations have to be planned, opened, and organized, healthcare providers ,
managers, and other employees need to be hired, and much more. One of the most important
employees within an organization is the compensation specialist. Compensation specialists
supervise and manage the employee compensation programs within an organization. Some of the
common responsibilities include: developing the organization s pay structure, managing and
improving all bonus or commissions, and preparing job descriptions (DeCenzo, Robbins, Verhulst,
2013). According to Samantha Smith, a compensation specialist for Rocky Mountain Sleep Clinic,
the process of determining an employee s salaryis rather long and time consuming. She says that
there are five steps she follows to develop the salaries within the organization. First she must
review her own pay practice to help determine the budget of the company. Once this is completed,
she must determine the definition and description of each job, which is later used to advertise the
position during the hiring process. A proper description of each position allows for the applicants
to understand what they are applying for. Employees also know what is expected of them after
reading the job description. It is also important to track the competition. Salaries will vary by
organization, position, and employee, but knowing where the

Native American Medicine
If you were in the desert or woods and bitten by a snake, where you go for help? A call to the
local ambulance and a fast ride to the emergency room are not available to you. How would you
know what potions to use and what would heal your wounds? This was the dilemma of the
Native American People hundreds of years ago. How did they handle it? The medical traditions
and customs have remained a mystery to us for hundreds of years. This paper will try to explore
some of these customs and possibly uncover some of the mystery. Our life is an age of previously

St. John s Wort, which is considered to be a natural Prozac was very common and widely
available. It was use by Indians because of the calming effect it had on the central nervous system.
All remedies were carried in a little satchel, called a medicine bag. This bag was filled with roots
tied up in individual bundles with some order as to what items belonged together. The center of
the Native American Heath care system was the medicine man. The medicine men were priests,
magicians and healers who handed down their knowledge and customs from one generation to
the next. Medicine men were considered wealthy; receiving many gifts of money and wild life
if a sick person they treated became well again. They were required to be masters at their craft,
much like the doctors of today. Knowing every song, every word and ritual in perfect tune and
order was essential for success. Everything had to be perfect and correct in order for it to work.
The medicine man ultimately disappeared when during a forty year period ending in 1934, the us
government forbade the tribal role: anyone attempting to serve as a medicine man was to be
imprisoned for no less than ten days or until such time as he could produce evidence, satisfactory to
the court, that he would forever abandon all such practices. (Dharmananda, 2000, P.3) In delivering
modern nursing care while incorporating the beliefs and customs of the Native American, a nurse

Paul s Point Of View In All Quiet On The Western Front
In the novel All Quiet on the Western Front Paul shows strong beliefs and opinions on the war
and the effects. Paul claims to speak for the whole generation when talking about the war, and he
speaks about it in a way that they can all relate too. Paul has lived through the war alongside the
rest of the soldiers, experiencing the good and the bad, just like the rest of them. Paul s negative
point of view comes from the horrors he saw during the war, including when he killed the
Russian solider and learning all about how he had a wife and his job. His negative point of view
also came from realizing that his enemy was just like him and without their uniforms, they all could
have been brothers. His fellow soldiers would have the same negative feelings

What Australian Fashion Retailers Can Learn from Zara s...
What Australian fashion retailers can learn from Zara s product management process to improve
their business
Australian fashion retailer these days are facing a huge struggle by selling over priced clothes.
However, the globalization has poked Australian retailers to found themselves in the midst of an
international fashion invasion, while the markets found themselves starstruck on the attractiveness
that international retailers offer.
The condition of Australian fashion retailers have been under serviced and underwhelmed when
it comes to fashion choice, especially in affordable variety (Wells 2013). There are only
numerous fashion labels are available to dress 23 million people. In addition, the price cannot be
compared to international brands ; the volumes produced by big international retailers like Zara
and H M are to service global market, unlike Sportsgirl or Country Road who produce much smaller
volumes.
This does not conclude that Australian fashion retailers will not survive in the near future, although
it does make some of them to stand on their toes. Domestic retailers are forced to turn around their
fashion clothes much faster to avoid the merchandise cannibalizing by Zara. On the other side of
the card, for being fast fashion, Zara may also meet its peak of a slower consumption. Consumers
have now become aware of the impact of fast fashion that may harm environments and work ethic.
Even though, Zara has anticipated the issues by coming up with their

Persuasive Speech On Animal Testing
As a huge animal lover, I was disgusted to hear about Ebbie s story. Ebbie was a beagle rescued
from an animal testing lab in Spain. When he was rescued by an organization called Beagle
Freedom Project, he was deathly ill, emaciated and had tumors all over his frail body. Before
being rescued, he had spent his entire life in solitary confinement where humans tested many
deadly chemicals on him. When he first moved into his new home after being rescued, he just
spent his days lying on the floor and was unwilling to interact with humans in anyway. It s truly
incredible that after months of love and compassion from people that fostered him, he learned
about love and trust towards humans after being so dramatically traumatized from the abuse he
received in a lab. I stand here today to present you with the issue that needs to be addressed
immediately: the abuse of millions of innocent and defenseless animals through animal
experimentation. Millions of animals are in agonizing pain while being kept in tiny cages of labs
while scientists inject dangerous substances in them and perform risky surgeries on them. Such
immorality of scientists is allowed because there are no laws that prohibit this torture and protect
the quality of life of these innocent animals. The root of animal testingstarted thousands of years
ago when scientists studied animals. During the early twentieth century, more people became
curious about biology and body systems; therefore, studied on animals. As

  • 3. The Relationship Between Art And The Renaissance Art The connection between art and science is one of the most characteristic features of the Renaissance culture. The truthful image of the world and man had to be based on their knowledge, so the cognitive beginning played an especially important role in the art of this time. Naturally, the artists sought support in the sciences, often stimulating their development. The Renaissance is a time of great discoveries, great masters and their outstanding works. It is marked by the appearance of a whole galaxy of artists scientists, among whom Leonardo da Vinciis the first. Fine art in the Renaissance reaches unprecedented heyday. This is due to the economic upsurge, with a huge shift that has occurred in the minds of people who have turned to the cult of earthly life and beauty. The visual art of the Renaissance in many ways represents a contrast to the medieval. It marks the emergence of realism for a long time determined the development of European artistic culture. This affected not only the spread of secular images, the development of portrait and landscape or a new, sometimes almost genre interpretation of religious subjects, but also in the radical renewal of the entire artistic system. In the Renaissance, an objective image of the world was seen by the eyes of a man, so one of the important problems facing artists was the problem of space. In Italy, already in the first half of the century, a scientific theory of linear perspective based on geometry and optics was created. ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Once morality is obtained by one protecting their personal interests and content with it, then they are able to satisfy the interests of others. There are two types of egoism, psychological or descriptive egoism and ethical or normative egoism. Psychological egoismis that humans are only driven by self interest. Thomas Hobbes argues that egoism is valid through a sense of morality and that an individual will end up being altruistic through his views of egoism. Ayn Rand another famous philosopher states that one can only be either altruistic or egoistic. One cannot be both. Ayn Rand believes an individual has value and that the only philosophy that states that an individual has self worth is egoism. Ethical egoism is often based off the fact that psychological egoism is true and this entails that we always act egotistically and cannot prevent ourselves from acting this way. An example of this would be if one were to donate to a charity that helps little kids. In terms of psychological egoism the individual didn t donate money to the charity to help kids, that would altruistic, one did it because one wanted to. Another reason to why ... The methods used were violently dangerous including women ingesting toxic substances such as bleach and detergents which often times was ineffective. Women around the country were concerned that the anti abortion laws conflicted with a person s right to privacy and equal protection given by the Fourth and Fourteenth Amendments of the Constitution. McCorvey was not able to provide evidence of which would prove her claim of rape to be true so she was not granted the right to abort her fetus. She then was left with a limitation of options, one being an illegal abortion clinic that she soon found out had been shut down by the police, and the other option being an old abandoned building where McCorvey stated dirty instruments were scattered around the room, and there was dried blood on the floor. McCorvey believed it was against the constitutional rights of american citizens to restrict the rights of abortion. These restricting laws were believes by many women to trap them into unfavorable alternatives such as self abortion or abortions performed by unlicensed beings with unsanitary surroundings and equipment. Desperate, McCorvey agreed to participate in a lawsuit against Henry Wade in efforts to make a difference for women around the world with the hopes of retaining her anonymity. • 8. Essay about Comapring Porters 5 Forces for the Airline... Assignment # 1 Strategic Practice Exercise: (page #81) 1. Score each competitive force in the airline industry and provide a brief rationale for your assessment. В·Rivalry Among Existing Firms: (High) When one major company in an industry makes a change in costs or services that could potentially increase their clientele, a major competitor almost always follows suit. Price matching is a prime example of that, therefore the threat is high. West Jet is one company that offers flights at a discount and forced Air Canada to create new banners to compete with the discounted prices. All major companies and firms in an industry watch each other s every move very carefully, and match any move with a countermove. During slow season in the airline ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Therefore, the threat of substitution is a significant factor in the airline industry. However, if a customer has to travel very quickly or a significant distance, that person would most likely choose the flight option instead of a cheaper alternative. В·Bargaining Power of Buyers/Distributors: (Medium) Bargaining power is a tricky one because it can work both ways. Buyers have a certain level of power in any industry. A buyer may switch suppliers very easily if there are no penalties and it is cost effective for them. If a large firm makes a large purchase of goods from another firm, it may be mutually beneficial and if serviced well, have the potential for repeat business. However, the buyer then has the power to use a substitute or competitor which would negatively affect the seller. Buyers are always the more powerful of the two because some buyers have the ability to put pressure on lower costs from suppliers, while demanding an increase of the quality of products or services provided to them. Also, the bargaining power in industries with high fixed costs like the airline industry can play a big factor. On the other hand, things like jet engines, tires and other key safety devices on aircrafts can cause severe consequences if this equipment malfunctions. For that reason, the buyer has a reduced amount of bargaining power with suppliers in this industry. The bargaining power of buyers is both high and low, so I ranked it medium. В·Bargaining ... • 14. The Purpose of Sati in Jane Eyre Essay The general image of Sati and the reasoning that surrounded it filled the Western imagination with repulsion as well as admiration. In the nineteenth century, Westerners publishing diaries of their travels always included their experiences when viewing Sati. Although these travelers, usually men, watched with horror, they also admired the courage and the dignity of the women involved (Hawley 3). What was known in England of Sati was from the accounts of the colonial officialsand travelers who witnessed it (Courtright 28). Another important aspect of the act of Sati was that it became an element in the vindication of British Imperialism . . . and was also used as a moral justification to the Britishers to impose their rule on India (Perera 92). With an attempt to distinguish between the old and the new, Charlotte Bronte creates the character of Bertha Mason as the exhibition of female repression and desire frequently found in the East. Bertha Rochester is the emblem of Eastern society, one which the British see as static and barbaric, and Jane Eyre is representative of the Western Civilization. • 21. Cognitive Therapies And Behavioral Therapy Cognitive behavioral therapy, on the contrary, utilizes directive consulting tools to control and guide its patients. These include such things as asking questions, interpreting, and providing direction to a client s attention and emotions. Aaron Beck developed cognitive therapy, an approach that focuses on recognizing and changing negative thoughts and maladaptive beliefs into more realistic and constructive thoughts and beliefs (Erford, 2014). It is believed that cognitive behavioral therapyis manipulative in nature. Cognitive behavioral therapy has two main components, these are cognitive therapies and behavioral therapies. Cognitive therapies are concerned with how a client interprets the world around them, such as their environment and the situations with which they are faced with, as well as how these interpretations shape their emotional states and how they respond to them. Basically cognitive therapyfocuses on the clients thought processes. It analyzes how the client thinks, why the client thinks a certain way, and strives to changes these patterns in a positive and nurturing way to produce proper emotional states to replace the current maladaptive process that cause disharmony within and for the client. Behavioral therapy is the next step in the counseling process. Its focus is on action instead of thought, and gives the therapist effective tools to assist the client in the production of positive behavioral patterns. This is done by rewarding positive changes in ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

We discussed the project and picked the Bernard House in late March. When I called, they said that they always needed nonperishable food items, and there was a list of items they were asking for during an Easter food drive that we used in our flyers. On April 5th, I got in contact with a local grocery store and picked up boxes for us to put all of the nonperishable food in. I found the Bernard House, which is very close to campus, and got in contact with them. This project has elicited a mix of happiness and frustration. It made me really happy when people were receptive to what we were trying to do. Having professors around campus be very supportive and encouraging when we asked to place boxes in their buildings, as well as the student support we received as we passed out flyers, explained the project, and asked for donations, was very rewarding. On occasion, students would tell us how much they appreciated our project because it was for such a good cause, and many students donated money, which I was not expecting because of the general lack of cash that college students carry around with them. The high price of timber in international market leds to timber exploitation in the early 90 s [S. Syarif, et.al, 2012]. It encourages illegal logging actifity, which causes adverse effects especially on the economy and ecology fields. In the economic field, the state revenues declined due to the loss of timber tax and the chance to produce the high quality products of timber also decreased. In addition, the nature inbalance causes climate change, declining soil productivity, soil erosion and flooding, habitat destruction, and loss of biodiversity. The bulb of connective tissue is involved with adaptation. When deformation of these receptors first occurs, there is a burst of electrical activity. If the stimulus is sustained, the bulb then mechanically adjusts to it, and allows the sensory nerve to repolarize. The effect is loss of sensation. As soon as the pattern of deformation changes, the neuron immediately depolarizes again. The overall effect is to increase sensitivity to changes in the pattern of physical contact (touch) with the environment. Observations to make: Look at the photo of a Meissner s corpuscle in the book, and locate the receptor. Observe the nerve fibers within the capsule (bulb). The first participant was Wesley, who was 15 years old and had delays in processing information with his short term memory, along with having difficulties with his organization skills. Wesley was placed on an individual educationplan (IEP) under the category of SLD in reading comprehension. Each assessment followed the same format, which was: 5 matching questions with a word bank of 10 words, two multiple choice questions with four options each, and three short answer questions which had two part response. This study was important to do because students with disabilities struggle in core subjects, especially science. However, there are many interpretations of what privacy is, and this interpretations are in some way related to historical events that shaped the meaning of privacy differently for every country. Countries of the European Union consider the right to privacy a sacred right, therefore, they have established laws to protect the respect for private and family life and the right to personal data protection. Although United States has some sector laws to protect privacy, the constitution does not mention privacy as fundamental right, nonetheless, the notion of privacy can be extracted from the first 10 amendments of the constitution. If so, it s a great possibility that you were reading a classic Western. Many readers of this genre would describe its stereotypes as what I listed above. You can almost always find that protagonist cowboy hero, who tends to be a good looking and sharp character that fights the dirty, rugged, evil villain in an epic climax while trying to save his gorgeous and innocent lady. The setting is often a flat, unpopulated, and undeveloped town, surrounded by mountains. The Western genre played a... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... However, Kolb describes Marshal Jack Potter as a nervous unarmed honeymooner, who rides a train instead of a horse (98). In the story, Potter is described as wearing a new black suit that most likely was purchased in San Antonio (23). This gives the reader the idea that the East influenced the West a great deal, considering a hard nosed, sharp shooting town hero most likely should not be wearing a new suit that was made in the East. The stereotypical western criminal is mean, dirty, selfish, and constantly stirring up trouble. In The Bride, your criminal is Scratchy Wilson. However, as Kolb describes, the difference between Scratchy and most other Western villains is that Scratchy s main crime seems to be that he can t hold his liquor (98). The eastern culture is brought up again in the story through Scratchy s clothes. You d expect to visualize a rough and dirty character whose soul is as dark as his clothes. With Scratchy, you get a criminal wearing a maroon colored flannel shirt that was made in New York (24). Crane uses these characters to portray an idea to his reader s that the influence the East has on the West is far greater than the average person would expect. Expectations for a women in a Western story are generally perceived to be a beautiful, innocent, ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

All remedies were carried in a little satchel, called a medicine bag. This bag was filled with roots tied up in individual bundles with some order as to what items belonged together. The center of the Native American Heath care system was the medicine man. The medicine men were priests, magicians and healers who handed down their knowledge and customs from one generation to the next. Medicine men were considered wealthy; receiving many gifts of money and wild life if a sick person they treated became well again. They were required to be masters at their craft, much like the doctors of today. Knowing every song, every word and ritual in perfect tune and order was essential for success. Everything had to be perfect and correct in order for it to work. What Australian fashion retailers can learn from Zara s product management process to improve their business Australian fashion retailer these days are facing a huge struggle by selling over priced clothes. However, the globalization has poked Australian retailers to found themselves in the midst of an international fashion invasion, while the markets found themselves starstruck on the attractiveness that international retailers offer. The condition of Australian fashion retailers have been under serviced and underwhelmed when it comes to fashion choice, especially in affordable variety (Wells 2013). There are only numerous fashion labels are available to dress 23 million people. In addition, the price cannot be compared to international brands ; the volumes produced by big international retailers like Zara and H M are to service global market, unlike Sportsgirl or Country Road who produce much smaller volumes. • 49. Persuasive Speech On Animal Testing As a huge animal lover, I was disgusted to hear about Ebbie s story. Ebbie was a beagle rescued from an animal testing lab in Spain. When he was rescued by an organization called Beagle Freedom Project, he was deathly ill, emaciated and had tumors all over his frail body. Before being rescued, he had spent his entire life in solitary confinement where humans tested many deadly chemicals on him. When he first moved into his new home after being rescued, he just spent his days lying on the floor and was unwilling to interact with humans in anyway. It s truly incredible that after months of love and compassion from people that fostered him, he learned about love and trust towards humans after being so dramatically traumatized from the abuse he received in a lab. I stand here today to present you with the issue that needs to be addressed immediately: the abuse of millions of innocent and defenseless animals through animal experimentation. Millions of animals are in agonizing pain while being kept in tiny cages of labs while scientists inject dangerous substances in them and perform risky surgeries on them. Such immorality of scientists is allowed because there are no laws that prohibit this torture and protect the quality of life of these innocent animals. The root of animal testingstarted thousands of years ago when scientists studied animals. During the early twentieth century, more people became curious about biology and body systems; therefore, studied on animals. As ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
