Attitudes to War in Dulce et Decorum est and Drummer...
Attitudes to War in Dulce et Decorum est and Drummer Hodge. Life wasn t easy for soldiers in the
war as Wilfred Owen and Thomas Hardy express strongly in their legendary poems Dulce et Decorum
est and Drummer Hodge . Peter Porter writes about the situation people may find themselves in when
in, his poem Your Attention Please , he describes an announcement concerning a nuclear Rocket
Strike. Wilfred Owen died at the age of 25 and was killed seven days before the end of World War 1.
He is regarded as one of the most well known war poets of the 20th Century, having written an
astonishing 110 poems. Under the influence of Romantic, early 19th Century poets such as
Wordsworth, Keats and Shelley, Owen produced Dulce Et Decorum ... Show more content on

The second line brings in the aural aspects of suffering by using words like coughing and cursed . We
cursed through sludge shows the intense deepness of the mud, which weakens the men and causes
them to swear. Owen tries to make the readers feel pity for the men and does this extremely well by
saying All went lame, all blind . This gives us the image that men couldn t see or hear correctly. He
uses the metaphor Drunk with fatigue to illustrate the tiredness of the men. Stanza one ends on a note
of warning; the danger of which the soldiers are unaware, as they can t hear properly. The first and
second verses are all to do with the visual and oral images of the soldiers and the ironic sense that the
men are on their way back from the front line so they should be in less threat, yet this is where one
man is killed. The next verse begins with a shout of danger: Gas! Gas! Quick boys. Ecstasy is used
paradoxically; it shows the speed and panic of the men as they know how important it is to get their
helmets on and yet their fingers fail them. The poet tricks the reader by saying Fitting the clumsy
helmets just in time which gives us the feeling that everyone has got their helmets on; this isn t true.
The next few lines talk about the terror and pain the man goes through as the gas enters his body. The
simile floundering like a man in fire was used to demonstrate the panic created by the man as he knew

conducted an analysis using data collected from 140 patients through an online health assessment
questionnaire. All of the participants in study were screened for a risk of them having a particular
disease and were assigned a personalized diagnostic plan based on their risk profile using an
algorithm. The average diagnostic cost came substantially lower than the tests recommended by usual
health preventive checkup plans. This could result in highly judicious utilization of healthcare
resources, money, and participant time without creating any significant compromise in screening
sensitivity.

Raz On The Autonomy Of Legal Reasoning
The autonomous nature of legal reasoning is the subject of much contention amongst legal actors and
is understood to be restrictively in positivist Raz . In his paper On the Autonomy of Legal Reasoning
Raz asserts that legal reasoning reasoning according to law is an instance of moral reasoning, that
legal reasoning is not, in the strong sense, autonomous. This view is based on the assumption that
legal doctrines are only justified if they are morally justified. Below, follows an appraisal of the
various justifications of this assertion and a defence of Raz s position on the autonomy of legal
reasoning.
Legal positivism formulated by English jurist John Austin characterises the system of laws, the
existence of which, is dependent on social facts . Positivism accepts the Separation thesis that there is
no necessary connection between law and morality . To this end, it denies any necessary moral criteria
of legality . Furthermore, it does not necessarily accept that moral principles can directly determine
whether certain rules are valid law, as naturalism does . ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
According to Raz, the former is underpinned by the Sources thesis which states that all law is source
based; that is, its existence and content can be determined by reference to social facts alone. The latter
is moral reasoning a conscious process that consists of transforming given information about people ,
in this case a process of empirical analysis, moral reasoning, and deduction from serious rules. Thus, it
follows from his argument, that reasoning about or according to the law is an occurrence of the
transformation of given information about

Gold And Its Impact On The Economy
Throughout history, gold has been viewed as an asset with high intrinsic value which was flocked to
during tumultuous times. The price of gold has typically fluctuated with political, economic and
inflationary threats, falling during booming markets and rising in recession. Since the precious metal
doesn t generate cash flow, its value has been closely tied to the status of the economy. Yet, gold is
failing to prove its counter cyclical nature in recent years. Tracing back gold s history reveals its
theoretical appeal has been as crisis insurance with the value of the precious metal independent of
anything else in the economy. However, as the perception of gold shifts away from a safe haven
investment, the value of gold could be severely impacted, turning investors to alternatives forms of
hedging market volatility. Is Gold Counter Cyclical? In the world economy, gold is one of the most
complicated assets to price. Unlike stocks, currencies and other commodities, the value of the precious
metal isn t determined by fundamentals or supply and demand. Instead, it has been widely thought that
gold moves inversely with the strength of the economy. When the economy is doing well and growing,
gold prices tend to fall and vice versa when the economy contracts. This happens because gold holds
high intrinsic value in the eyes of investors, whether its in the form of jewelry or financial
investments. That said, many macroeconomic variables in booming and busting economies play a

Hamlet Disillusionment In Hamlet
William Shakespeare s dramatic presentation of disillusionment within Hamlet, to a great measure
presents the notion that the quality of a leader is derived from one s possession of integrity. Hamlet s
disillusionment which emerges from the discovery of Claudius regicide and the usurpation of his
father s divine position, produces a plethora of human dilemmas, such as the moral struggle between
renaissance and medieval ideologies, the paralysing effect of uncertainty and the defining nature of
mortality. Thus by exploring the universal complexity of human condition and its ability withhold
integrity, Shakespeare connects to audiences of various historical contexts.
Hamlet s disillusionment with medieval values establishes an insurmountable ... Show more content

This is explicated within Act 3 Scene 3 where Hamlet is given the perfect opportunity to slay the
praying king. However, Hamlet s rhetorical question, Am I to take in the purging of his soul when he
is fit and seasoned for his passage? , illustrates his envisagement of the moral ramifications,
recognising that he would be condemned by god whilst Claudius would be permitted to heaven with a
forgiven soul. Hamlet s deferment of his enormous burden is therefore not a cowardice act, but rather
the philosophical reasoning of a new age man caught in a situation where archaic and barbaric
conducts are required to accomplish his task. Additionally, Shakespeare s juxtaposition of

Compare the political leaders profiled in Susan Lawrence s article The New Guard: Five Younger
Officials Make Their Way to the Top . According to Lawrence (1998), the future of China will largely
depend on its top leaders. Their priorities, reputations, and ability to get local officials and society at
large to support their policies will shape the course of future events. At the vanguard of the group of
up and coming leaders is Hu Jintao, who joined the Communist Party s most senior body, the seven

Wu Bangguo, 57, was appointed to oversee the state enterprise reform when the party established the

Skellig Motifs
Through the novel Skellig, motifs such as birds, stone and William Blake s poetry are introduced to
the reader and add a deeper layer to the novel. David Almond uses the motif of birds often throughout
the text, which adds meaning and thought to the story. William Blake is a skilled poet and shares
poems to the world, but when added to the novel it adds purpose. Stone is another critical motif used
in Skellig and is used repeatedly to add depth to the book.
References about birds appear at different sections of the novel and are the main motif in the novel.
Skellig answers a question from Michael What are you? I whispered. He shrugged again. Something.
He said. Something like you, something like a beast, something like a bird, something like an angel.

that he has wings like a bird and he can fly and be free, but countering that he has an appearance like a

Exploitation of Women in the Developing World
The modern world today is proud to recognize the equality that has been acknowledged between age,
gender, and race. Women are beginning to be treated as equals with men, in new customs, lifestyle,
society, and economy. Today, women are freer and are liberated from their traditional roles as
housewives, and are pursuing their hopes and dreams. However, this is not the case in many regions of
the world. In the developing countries, thousands of females are dehumanized by prostitution and the
trafficking of women and children is dehumanizing which serves only to benefit men. It exploits and

for years, even decades, keeping them in poverty.
Sexual exploitation preys on women and children made vulnerable by poverty, by economic
development policies and practices, and by traffickers who capitalize on restricted migration policies.
(Janice G. Raymond, Co executive director of Coalition Against Trafficking in Women (CATW))
The sex workers are slaves paying back their debts to the brothel owners. They are bonded by debt for
years, not only working to earn back the money that they were sold for, but also the interest.
According to Kevin Bales, there are two types of debt bondage. The first type is when a slave s life
and labour is used as the collateral to acquire loans, forcing them to work towards the payment of
these loans plus the interest. The second kind of debt bondage is when victims become bonded slaves
when they violate the loan agreements made by the brothel owners and the sex traders.
Trafficking and prostitution are what makes the majority of the sex industry, but it should never be
recognized as a job or legitimated as work. However, the trafficking system continues to be supported

China Beijing Olympic Games And The Environmental Impact...
Introduction
As the development of the world, sustainable development is becoming more and more remarkable
among the public. Meanwhile the environmental impacts on worldwide mega sport events are
catching an increasing attention. However the environmental impacts are complex and difficult to be
assessed quantitatively, in spite of event stakeholders often insist that it is as important as social and
economic legacies (Collins, Jones, Munday, 2009). In the recent decade, several significant mega
sports events took place which related to issues of environmental impacts, sustainability and greening
events, such as several Olympic Games, Rugby World Cup, and FIFA World Cup. Since the Beijing
Organising Committee for the Games of the XXIX Olympiad defined the Beijing Olympic would be
People s Olympics, Green Olympics, and High Tech Olympics (2002). This essay focuses on 2008

At the beginning of this essay, a brief historic background of Beijing Olympic will be introduces, and
a definition of environmental impact will be presented with some discussions. In the following part,
some more detailed discussion will be studied between Beijing Olympic and environmental impact

National Security Is More Important Than Human Rights
National Security is More Important than Human Rights
The conception of human rights and freedoms is the cornerstone of American traditions, law and the
indicator of democracy. The approach of prevailing interest in personal privacy, property privacy and
non interference of state authorities in private affairs is the basic ground for modern organization of
American society. For centuries the courts have been standing safeguards of protection of persons
against unreasonable intrusion of the State, generally interpreting the Constitution and the Bill of
Rights with preference of personal human rights protection. Nonetheless in the end of the 21st century
there appeared several factors which so much influenced our society that the matters ... Show more

In most of the cases opposing the concept of human rights to national security is erroneous and
unreasonable construction because the national security is the concept which precludes the physical
and mental security of all members of the society, and therefore includes and predetermines the
possibility of exercising human rights and freedoms. Without security the well being is impossible.
Looking at the national security vs. human rights question from the points of view of internal and
external national security, one should first examine what concrete human rights may be waived or
limited for the homeland security and protection purposes. Natural human rights like the right for life
are not the subject to address in this essay. The rights addressed in this essay are defined primarily in
the U.S. Bill of Rights. These are civil right for privacy, the right of peaceful protest, the right to
personal freedom, the right to a fair trial and the right of equal protection, usually in the list of the
rights which under certain conditions may be waived for the efficiency of homeland security and
protection.
The first argument supporting the statement that national security is more important than protection of
individual rights is the increased threat of terroristic attacks, which are very dangerous, carefully
planned, locally targeted and generously funded

Australian Catholic Social Teaching (CST)
Principles of Catholic Social Thought
Catholic social teaching (CST) or thought are belief or set of belief that is taught or developed by a
catholic church or religious organisations (Australian Catholic Social Justice Council, 2016). It
expresses human dignity as a foundation for the common good in our society to flourish together as
one (Australian Catholic Social Justice Council, 2016). Therefore, this wiki page will explain and
discuss each of nine CST.
Dignity of the Human Person

Therefore, the individual s responsibility is to take care of the earth they live in. for instance, taking
care of family and friend and others with dignity is a way to show sign of our respect for the god, who
created the earth and the human (Catholic Charities, 2016).
Promotion of Peace
Most commonly heard catholic teaching is about the peace, concept that is action orientated and about
loving others (Catholic Charities, 2016). Promotion of peace involves peace and mutual respects
between people and the nations across the world (Catholic Charities, 2016). Therefore, catholic
teachings have a close relationship between peace and justice. When individuals and nations keep the
peace, society will flourish.
Participation
All individuals have a right to participate in the education, politic, economy and cultural life of society
(Catholic Charities, 2016). It is a fundamental demand of justice system and the requirement for a
human dignity that is assured for everyone in society to participate in the community (Catholic
Charities, 2016). Moreover, it is wrong for someone or group of people to be excluded from
participating social activities, treated unfairly or not be able to participate in society (Catholic
Charities, 2016). When every individual participates in society, it will flourish.

democrats? Then I began to notice people like Hillary Clinton and Barack Obama were the faces of a
democrat. Honestly, I took a liking to them; they didn t look like ones typical politician. They were
both minorities in their positions in government; Hillary a female who ran for president, Barack
Obama I man whose skin wasn t of the majority and is now president. Democrats seemed to be
making history and that caught my eye. The democrats seemed to be all full of new ideas and
movements it became apparent that they might be for me. But even so I needed to know what was
great about the other political party.
Republicans or people who believes in or supports the republic form of government, was the next
political party that I looked at. Subsequently, I had to take a look at the word republic, to understand
what it meant. According to Merriam Webster.com, it means a country that is governed by elected
representatives and by an elected leader (such as a president) rather than by a king or queen. After
reading that definition I began to think to myself what republicans stand for also has to do with the
American idea. Republicans had history with

The Consequences Of Burmese Python
Sometimes something can be very small then something big after a while, and that s how the Burmese
Python is just like. There s been an outbreak of them spreading non stop causing very big, and

1900 1910
At the beginning of the 20th century a New York editorialist wrote that the 20th century began in the
United States with a sense of euphoria and self satisfaction, a sure feeling that America is the envy of
the world (World History Timeline 1900 1901 ). The president was Teddy Roosevelt, who enjoyed
enormous popularity due to the general happiness of the American people. A thriving industry created
many jobs for immigrants and others. A monumental event took place in 1901 when the New York
Stock Exchange exceeded 2 million shares for the first time ever (World History Timeline 1900 1901
). The tycoon J.P. Morgan created the U.S. Steel Co. in 1901, which became the first billion dollar

In 1900 there was the Boxer Rebellion in which anti foreigner Boxers occupied Beijing. International
force eventually ended the violent siege (Historical Daily Almanac 1900 ). Another major world event
during the decade was the Russo Japanese War. The two countries battled over the control of
Manchuria and Korea, and the Russians were forced to surrender (Historical Daily Almanac 1905 ).
Also around the globe, in the field of psychology, the great Sigmund Freud wrote a book called The
Interpretation of Dreams (Magill 14). This book documented Freud s theory that dreams are
meaningful and can be understood. Another great mind of that era was Albert Einstein. He came up
with his theory of relativity in 1905(Magill 19).
Great artists of the world were also creating some of their most brilliant work during this decade.
Henri Matisse fought to find the artistic freedom he needed by creating the Fauvist movement in the
early 1900 s(Pioch 2). Fauvism led to the larger movement called Expressionism, a term used to
describe any art that raises subjective feelings above objective observations (Pioch 4). Georges
Rouault was another pioneer of the Expressionist movement; he was a Frenchman who linked the
decorative effects of Fauvism in France with the symbolic color of German Expressionism (Pioch 6).
Another leading artist of the time period was Ernst Ludwig Kirchner, a German who wanted his art to
be a bridge to the future (Pioch 6). These men were very important artists, but

JET ETIHAD STRATEGIC ALLIANCE

It is very disappointing that the recently published ICRA downgrade is based on a historic delay in
debt servicing, which occurred and was resolved in the previous financial year. Our recently published
first quarter results show a positive trend in performance and that the airline s three year business plan
is on track, said the Jet Airways rejoinder in the first week of September when ICRA downgraded the
company s rating to D Grade (junk status) due to delays in debt servicing.
ICRA s action could make it tougher and costlier for the airline to refinance its formidable debt of

Analysis Of Anne Tyler s Teenage Wasteland
There is a quote from the Chopin story, Story of an Hour , that is quite profound. It says There would
be no powerful will bending hers in that blind persistence with which men and women believe they
have the right to impose a private will upon a fellow creature .
When people do not have family or children, the decisions they make are for selfish reasons only.
Once a person has a child or a spouse, they begin to live for them. That person become unselfish and
makes decisions because of them. Their drive becomes stronger. There is no force that will override a
person s will to exercise their freedom.
In the short story Teenage Wasteland by Anne Tyler, Daisy Coble was a former teacher who married
and dedicated her life to her husband ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The psychologist said Donny has no serious emotional problems. He was merely going through a
difficult period in his life. He required some academic help and a a better sense of self worth. (Anne
Tyler. Teenage Wasteland ) When children become teenagers, they begin the confusing yet
enlightening journey into adulthood. At this point, they make important decisions which may change
the course their lives. Teenagers are still influenced by others, but they are now responsible for their
own choices and actions. Entering into young adulthood can be very confusing. At this stage, young
people are deciding who they are and who they want to be. They also feel as if they should take
responsibility for themselves but do not feel like a complete adult. Donny was basically deciding that
school was not for him. He was cutting class and getting in trouble. Daisy took it upon herself to make
the decision for him to go see a psychologist.
Donny said he d be damned if he let them drag him to some stupid fairy tutor. (Anne Tyler. Teenage
Wasteland ) Once again, Daisy made a decision for Donny. Communication is key in any form of
relationship whether it is a friendship, intimate relationship or mother and child. Understanding is also
key. Daisy did not take the time to sit down and talk to Donny. She did not take the time to figure out
what was best for him, instead she let others tell her what was best for her son. Daisy desperately

The Trans Pacific Partnership is an Asia Pacific regional free trade agreement currently under
negotiation between the Unties States and about a dozen countries surrounding the Pacific Ocean
(Weddle, 2013). It s a giant free trade deal that has been in the process of negotiation for about a
decade. The ultimate goal of the deal is to join countries together through a unified agreement and
make free trade among these counties smooth and painless. The trade agreement covers everything
from tariffs to standards for food safety. If signed, this deal would affect many aspects of the economy.
For starters, Its provisions to enforce intellectual property rights would strengthen patents restricting

Since over 95% of American s manufacturing companies are considered to be small, with less than
100 workers, the trade agreement could be a crippling blow to the industry. American jobs will be lost
and American workers will be laid off. Consumers will suffer, business will suffer, and ultimately
America will suffer. Many argue that free trade will be beneficial for the economy, but exactly who is
benefiting? America won t benefit from this deal unless its export is greater than its import. Reports
from 2014 show that the U.S. imported $2.34 trillion in goods compared to exporting $1.62 trillion
(Nash Hoff, 2015). This imbalance created a huge deficit over $720 billion, which is not even close to
being beneficial for the economy or the nation as a whole. The Peterson Institute for International
Economics estimates that the TPP would add $77.5 billion of income to the U.S. economy by 2025
(Miller, 2015). Although this seems like quite a large amount of money, it actually only represents a
gain of about 0.38% over the next decade. Some people believe this trade agreement will cause new
jobs to spring up but, in truth, a trade agreement does not on balance, create, or destroy jobs, it alters
the composition of the workforce (Miller, 2015). The income from the trade agreement wouldn t even
be a benefit to the workforce. A Center for Economic and Policy Research report looked into the
matter and estimated that only the top 10% of workers in

The Importance of the Clergy during the Middle Ages
Rough Draft For The Clergy
What was the middle ages like? What were the religions they believed in? What was the* Medieval
Feudalism like? What was Medieval Feudalism? These questions will all be answered and a more that
you might ask. In these pages you will learn about the Middle ages and mostly about the Clergy, one
of the most important and busiest parts of Medieval Feudalism.*First, what was Medieval Feudalism?
Medieval Feudalism was when the King was the most powerful person who also controlled all the
land. But he couldn t have controlled it all by himself right? The answer is...no, he actually had many
barons working underneath him to watch the king*s land and make sure there is no commotion and
rebellion against the king and crop growth and harvesting as well as taxes. What are the Clergy and
why are they so important in the Middle Ages? In the clergy there were many ranks and the most
powerful was the pope. The pope was the most powerful since the villagers and everybody else looked
up to him to ask God for forgiveness for their sins. In the Roman Empire, when the emperor was
absent for different reasons the pope basically took the emperors place and is the most powerful
person in the empire. The role of the pope is to be the churches spiritual leader and administrator.
Once the pope is elected he is the pope until the day he dies. The pope is also the legislator so he is the
guy who gives out the laws and everything. He was* the only one who could give out

Sectional Tensions Of The Civil War Essay
Throughout early American History, the issue of slavery was considered by many to be unsolvable.
The North and the South were unwilling to compromise once tensions reached a high in the mid 1800
s leading to the Civil War. Already high tensions in the United States between the North and South,
were pushed to a toppling point over the controversy about slavery. It was only a matter of time before
the Nation would have to resolve this issue and attempt to unite the Country. This sectional tension
can be seen during two presidential administrations that either precede, or occur during the Civil War;
the administrations of President Franklin Pierce, and of Abraham Lincoln. Thus, the issue of slavery
economically and politically polarized the Country ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
While the North grew in manufacturing throughout the 1840 s and 1850 s, the southern economy
remained stagnant. In fact, the slave states possessed only around 18% of the total national
manufacturing capacity during this period. Over half of this manufacturing capacity was located in the
border states, Delaware, Kentucky, Maryland, and Missouri, whose populations had questionable
loyalty to the South. These border states were only southern in some aspects, and thus, did not secede
from the Union. Because of the lack of true southern manufacturing, it was hard to generate large
profits, as all agricultural produce had to be shipped North in order to be manufactured. For example,
most cotton from the South was sent to the North for spinning and manufacturing into clothing. From
there, the garments created would be sent back to the South, at a marked up, higher price. The
production difference between the South and the North made the South completely dependent on the
North, economically. According to one southerner, Financially [the south is] more enslaved than [its]
negroes .Thus, the South s utter reliance the North for even the most basic staples, including clothing,
books, and tools, led to intense friction between the two regions of the

Cameron s Use Of Camera Images In Avatar
Photography and imagery has seemed to attempt to serve one main purpose: accuracy. When people
use photographs in most of today s society, it is to show factual evidence that their arguments and
story are true. Two early devices that have shaped the use of photography are the camera obscura and
the stereoscope. Both use the eyes to attempt to create accurate depictions of the world around them,
especially in trying to allow people to see the parts of the world that are foreign to them. The
stereoscope s more objective representation of the world over the camera obscura is used in James
Cameron s Avatar as representations of how civilized populations skew the truth behind the savage
societies, allowing each separate society to represent ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
James Cameron uses the natural world and how it works as a symbol of the unknown savages that
were target of American and European imperialist conquests and other parts of the unknown,
uncivilized world. The American group of military and science believe they are getting a true view of
the indigenous people on Pandora, a totally new environment for them. While a lot of the scientists go
into the world of Pandora using the bodies of the Na vi, immersing themselves into the world as if
they were looking at it in a stereoscopic way, the human society remains in the camera obscura way of
viewing the world: misinterpreted with details missing and disconnected. They rely on the methods of
science and what they learned from history about different races to gather a picture of what they think
life on Pandora is. There is a difference between the outside world and the inside laboratories that they
observe from, creating a disconnect between the reality and the representation. Much like the World
Fairs or the colonial idea of savagery, the humans take on a belief that they are getting a true
representation of the world around them, but in reality, they are missing vital pieces to the puzzle. The
Na vi connect with the world in a much different manner. They use the stereoscopic idea of immersion
into the world around them, connecting themselves to

A parallel force includes at least two forces where all lines of action are parallel.
(c) Explain the difference between point loads and uniformly distributed loads. Include annotated
pictorial diagrams
Point Load In the field of engineering, a point load is a load applied to a single, specific point on a
structural member. It is also known as a concentrated load, and an example of it would be a hammer
hitting a single nail into a beam.
Uniformly Distributed Load A UDL, or a uniformly distributed load, has a constant value, for
example, 1kN/m; hence the uniform distribution of the load. Each uniformly distributed load can be
changed to a simple point force that can be used to determine the stresses in an object. A uniformly
distributed load can be drawn by using arrows and lines. First, the vectors must be drawn along where
the load acts and must be connected with tails. A single line must connect the vectors together and
represent the force point. The line should be horizontal.
What is the difference between a Point Load and a Uniformly Distributed Load?
A point load is a load which acts over a small distance. Because of concentration over small distance
this load may be considered as acting on a point. Point load is denoted by P and symbol of point load
is arrow heading downward whereas a distributed load is one that acts over a considerable length or
you can say over a length which is

  • 2. Attitudes to War in Dulce et Decorum est and Drummer... Attitudes to War in Dulce et Decorum est and Drummer Hodge. Life wasn t easy for soldiers in the war as Wilfred Owen and Thomas Hardy express strongly in their legendary poems Dulce et Decorum est and Drummer Hodge . Peter Porter writes about the situation people may find themselves in when in, his poem Your Attention Please , he describes an announcement concerning a nuclear Rocket Strike. Wilfred Owen died at the age of 25 and was killed seven days before the end of World War 1. He is regarded as one of the most well known war poets of the 20th Century, having written an astonishing 110 poems. Under the influence of Romantic, early 19th Century poets such as Wordsworth, Keats and Shelley, Owen produced Dulce Et Decorum ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... The second line brings in the aural aspects of suffering by using words like coughing and cursed . We cursed through sludge shows the intense deepness of the mud, which weakens the men and causes them to swear. Owen tries to make the readers feel pity for the men and does this extremely well by saying All went lame, all blind . This gives us the image that men couldn t see or hear correctly. He uses the metaphor Drunk with fatigue to illustrate the tiredness of the men. Stanza one ends on a note of warning; the danger of which the soldiers are unaware, as they can t hear properly. The first and second verses are all to do with the visual and oral images of the soldiers and the ironic sense that the men are on their way back from the front line so they should be in less threat, yet this is where one man is killed. The next verse begins with a shout of danger: Gas! Gas! Quick boys. Ecstasy is used paradoxically; it shows the speed and panic of the men as they know how important it is to get their helmets on and yet their fingers fail them. The poet tricks the reader by saying Fitting the clumsy helmets just in time which gives us the feeling that everyone has got their helmets on; this isn t true. The next few lines talk about the terror and pain the man goes through as the gas enters his body. The simile floundering like a man in fire was used to demonstrate the panic created by the man as he knew ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

An Economic Analysis Comparing Average Cost of Screening Patients Using Remedy Social Platform vs. Popular Preventive Health Check up Programs Tanmay Gupta1, Dr. Purav Gandhi2 1Department of Business Analytics and Intelligence, Indian Institute of Management, Bangalore tanmay.gemini@gmail.com 2Remedy Social (Healthark Wellness Solutions LLP), C 602, Tulip Citadel, Ambawadi, Ahmedabad, India drpuravgandhi@remedysocial.com Abstract: We conducted an analysis using data collected from 140 patients through an online health assessment questionnaire. All of the participants in study were screened for a risk of them having a particular disease and were assigned a personalized diagnostic plan based on their risk profile using an algorithm. The average diagnostic cost came substantially lower than the tests recommended by usual health preventive checkup plans. This could result in highly judicious utilization of healthcare resources, money, and participant time without creating any significant compromise in screening sensitivity. Keywords: health economics, preventive health, screening, cost impact analysis, preventive check ups 1. Introduction Health is a major concern for the most of us. From elderly parents to newborn children, medication and hospitalization play a substantial role while ensuring the health of a family. • 4. Raz On The Autonomy Of Legal Reasoning The autonomous nature of legal reasoning is the subject of much contention amongst legal actors and is understood to be restrictively in positivist Raz . In his paper On the Autonomy of Legal Reasoning Raz asserts that legal reasoning reasoning according to law is an instance of moral reasoning, that legal reasoning is not, in the strong sense, autonomous. This view is based on the assumption that legal doctrines are only justified if they are morally justified. Below, follows an appraisal of the various justifications of this assertion and a defence of Raz s position on the autonomy of legal reasoning. Legal positivism formulated by English jurist John Austin characterises the system of laws, the existence of which, is dependent on social facts . Positivism accepts the Separation thesis that there is no necessary connection between law and morality . To this end, it denies any necessary moral criteria of legality . Furthermore, it does not necessarily accept that moral principles can directly determine whether certain rules are valid law, as naturalism does . ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... According to Raz, the former is underpinned by the Sources thesis which states that all law is source based; that is, its existence and content can be determined by reference to social facts alone. The latter is moral reasoning a conscious process that consists of transforming given information about people , in this case a process of empirical analysis, moral reasoning, and deduction from serious rules. Thus, it follows from his argument, that reasoning about or according to the law is an occurrence of the transformation of given information about ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 7. Gold And Its Impact On The Economy Throughout history, gold has been viewed as an asset with high intrinsic value which was flocked to during tumultuous times. The price of gold has typically fluctuated with political, economic and inflationary threats, falling during booming markets and rising in recession. Since the precious metal doesn t generate cash flow, its value has been closely tied to the status of the economy. Yet, gold is failing to prove its counter cyclical nature in recent years. Tracing back gold s history reveals its theoretical appeal has been as crisis insurance with the value of the precious metal independent of anything else in the economy. However, as the perception of gold shifts away from a safe haven investment, the value of gold could be severely impacted, turning investors to alternatives forms of hedging market volatility. Is Gold Counter Cyclical? In the world economy, gold is one of the most complicated assets to price. Unlike stocks, currencies and other commodities, the value of the precious metal isn t determined by fundamentals or supply and demand. Instead, it has been widely thought that gold moves inversely with the strength of the economy. When the economy is doing well and growing, gold prices tend to fall and vice versa when the economy contracts. This happens because gold holds high intrinsic value in the eyes of investors, whether its in the form of jewelry or financial investments. That said, many macroeconomic variables in booming and busting economies play a ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Hamlet Disillusionment In Hamlet William Shakespeare s dramatic presentation of disillusionment within Hamlet, to a great measure presents the notion that the quality of a leader is derived from one s possession of integrity. Hamlet s disillusionment which emerges from the discovery of Claudius regicide and the usurpation of his father s divine position, produces a plethora of human dilemmas, such as the moral struggle between renaissance and medieval ideologies, the paralysing effect of uncertainty and the defining nature of mortality. Thus by exploring the universal complexity of human condition and its ability withhold integrity, Shakespeare connects to audiences of various historical contexts. Hamlet s disillusionment with medieval values establishes an insurmountable ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... This is explicated within Act 3 Scene 3 where Hamlet is given the perfect opportunity to slay the praying king. However, Hamlet s rhetorical question, Am I to take in the purging of his soul when he is fit and seasoned for his passage? , illustrates his envisagement of the moral ramifications, recognising that he would be condemned by god whilst Claudius would be permitted to heaven with a forgiven soul. Hamlet s deferment of his enormous burden is therefore not a cowardice act, but rather the philosophical reasoning of a new age man caught in a situation where archaic and barbaric conducts are required to accomplish his task. • 11. Skellig Motifs Through the novel Skellig, motifs such as birds, stone and William Blake s poetry are introduced to the reader and add a deeper layer to the novel. David Almond uses the motif of birds often throughout the text, which adds meaning and thought to the story. William Blake is a skilled poet and shares poems to the world, but when added to the novel it adds purpose. Stone is another critical motif used in Skellig and is used repeatedly to add depth to the book. References about birds appear at different sections of the novel and are the main motif in the novel. National Security Is More Important Than Human Rights National Security is More Important than Human Rights The conception of human rights and freedoms is the cornerstone of American traditions, law and the indicator of democracy. The approach of prevailing interest in personal privacy, property privacy and non interference of state authorities in private affairs is the basic ground for modern organization of American society.
