Essay On Paper
Crafting an essay on the seemingly straightforward topic of "Essay On Paper" may appear
deceptively simple at first glance. One might assume that the subject itself, being a familiar
medium for expression and communication, would lend itself to an effortless exploration.
However, delving into the intricacies of such a seemingly commonplace topic poses a unique
challenge.
The difficulty arises from the need to transcend the surface-level understanding of paper and its
role in writing. A mere recounting of the historical development or a recitation of the physical
attributes of paper would fall short of the essay's potential. Instead, the writer must navigate the
delicate balance between the tangible and intangible aspects of paper, considering its cultural,
social, and symbolic dimensions.
Moreover, as the essay unfolds, one may find the challenge in avoiding clichГ©s and banalities
associated with the topic. The danger of succumbing to well-worn expressions about the "blank
page" or the metaphorical weight of words on paper looms large. The writer must strive to infuse
the essay with freshness and originality, steering clear of tired tropes that fail to captivate the
reader's attention.
The essayist must also grapple with the task of making the exploration of paper's significance
relevant and engaging to a contemporary audience. It requires the ability to connect the
traditional use of paper to modern communication technologies and the evolving nature of
written expression. Bridging the gap between the tangible and the digital while maintaining a
coherent narrative can be a challenging tightrope act.
In conclusion, while the topic "Essay On Paper" may appear deceptively simple, the journey of
crafting a compelling essay unveils layers of complexity. It demands a nuanced understanding of
the subject, an adept avoidance of clichГ©s, and the ability to make the exploration relevant to
the present era. Writing on such a seemingly mundane topic reveals the true test of a writer's skill
in transforming the ordinary into the extraordinary.

2015 Advanced Micro Devices ( Amd )
In 2015 Advanced Micro Devices (AMD) was in a difficult position. The once
formidable competitor in multiple facets of the personal computer market had seen
its strong profits turn negative and its debt totals rise. The company was finding it
difficult to compete across multiple markets due to a number of factors. The most
important of which was a series of weak product offerings, which created a larger gap
in the quality of AMD s products when compared with the competition.
AMD had once held large market shares in both the CPU (central processing unit) and
GPU (graphics processing unit) markets. When each of these products are combined
in the personal computer users are able to take on more demanding tasks such as

In the early 1980 s, IBM chose to purchase Intel s x86 chip architecture and the DOS
software operating system designed by Microsoft (Singer, 2005). IBM insisted
that Intel provide a second source of chips as to avoid over dependence on one
supplier. To accommodate IBM s request Intel and AMD signed a technology
exchange agreement to make AMD that second supplier ( Company History ). This
agreement limited AMD s access to only the second generation or 286 chip
technology. In the 1980 s Intel attempted to eliminate AMD from the process with
the 386 family of chips (Singer, 2005). AMD filed for legal action claiming that this
was an attempt to create a monopoly and settled in 1987, but this would not be the
last time that AMD would seek legal action to prevent Intel from creating a monopoly.
In 1991, AMD filed an antitrust complaint again claiming that Intel was engaged in
unlawful acts designed to secure and maintain a monopoly. The case was settled in
1992 and the court ruled in AMD s favor by awarding $10 million as well as the
ability to license Intel s 386 designs without paying a royalty. Finally, in 1995 AMD
settled the rest of its legal disputes by agreeing to a deal that gave AMD a shared
interest in the x86 chip design, which is still being used today in personal
Longbow Vs Musket Research Paper
There has been a debate going on for some time now about longbows v crossbows v
musket. While the crossbow and musket gave better penetration against plate armor
the longbow gave range and rate of fire. A longbow took many years to master. While
i think any fool could be taught to fire a crossbow or musket in a very short period of
time. Everyone knows how to fire a longbow but not many can ( i have tried and it s
very difficult) It s said you can dodge or get a shield up against arrow because of low
velocity you can see it coming 50 meters a second so at 200 meters you have 4 sec s
enough time maybe. At Agincourt there were 5000 archers who could fire 10/12
arrows a min at 200 metres plus allowing for fatigue let s say only fired 6 min that s
How Did The Economy Affect The Mexican Economy
Decades later, another series of events led to a new wave of feminists. In the 1970 s,
Mexico became one of the world s largest oil suppliers to the world market.
International bankers made loans to Mexico, who promptly accepted them, but
sooner than later the interest rates and debt rose to an uncontrollable point. Intending
to boost the country s economy, the Lopez Portillo administration spent vast amounts
of public spending on electricity generation, construction, the mining industry, and
manufacturing. However, the country s debt rose due to the US and other countries
taking advantage of their large amounts of oil. The world oil market collapsed, and
with it, the Mexican economy. In addition, an earthquake in 1985 killed almost...

Since husbands were away, the mothers became the heads of the family. Despite
earning less than their male counterparts, women tended to invest their money in the
needs of the household, rather than spending money for their own use. Without the
male presence in the home, the families tended to be smaller, and the family income
was distributed to fewer members. Therefore their family per capita was greater than
when the men were in charge. The economic crisis of the 1980 s caused great harm to
the Mexican economy, but had lasting beneficiary effects on genderequality.
Because many men often migrated to other parts of the country or bordering
countries to find better work, the women were forced to join the workforce.
Families assimilated to the lack of presence of women at home, generating creative
strategies to continue on. 70% of households bought less food, clothing, shoes, etc.
and spent less on transportation and food than prior to the economic crisis. There
was a dramatic increase of women aged twenty to twenty four in the workforce,
rising by ten percent since prior to the crisis. However, some social customs still
remained. While the men still in charge of families were able to eat the more
expensive foods such as meat and eggs, female heads of the family ate less hearty,
unhealthy food, which mainly consisted of beans, tortillas, fruits and

Creating More Problems The Paris Peace Conference of 1919 opened on the 18th
of January, with delegations from all over the world attending to lay claim to their
desires, or gain reparations for their sacrifices throughout the greatest war the world
had ever been subject to. The big four countries at the negotiating table were the
British under Lloyd George, the French led by Georges Clemenceau, The Italians
and their prime minister Vittorio Emanuele Orlando, and The United States of
America under President Woodrow Wilson. Each group had their own ideas for a
post war world order, and their own tactics for reaching it. The actions of these

This leads to the British and French skirting around Wilson s goals, meeting secretly
to make decisions about the post war world, and to further their own, often
imperialistic, prerogatives.
The Treaty of Versaillesagreed upon in 1919 set in motion events that would be
direct causes of World War II. According to Robert Cowley, the treaty stripped
Germany of many territories, including Eupen Malmeacutedy, given to Belgium,
Alsace Lorraine to France, large amounts of eastern lands to Poland, the Memel
region to Lithuania, and most of the Schelswig area of the Danish peninsula to
Denmark. Germany lost all of her overseas colonies as well. It also forced Germany
to limit their army to 100,000 men, and forbade them certain types of weapons
common to modern armies. The worst part of all was that Germany was made to
assume all the guilt for the war, and forced them to pay an amount of war reparations
unspecified at first, then set around 33 billion gold marks(Cowley). World War One:
Treaties says that the peace terms imposed upon the defeated countries, Germany,
Austria, Hungary, and Bulgaria, seemed to them to be unfair and unjust punishments.
Applied Behavior Analysis Essay
Applied behavior analysis, or ABA therapy, is a tool that helps children, especially
those with autism, succeed in daily life. ABA applies basic behavioral practices,
including positive reinforcement, teaching in small steps, prompting, and repeated
practice, to facilitate the development of a child s language, social interactions,
independent living skills, and other aptitudes.
Originated by the scientific principles of Dr. B.F. Skinner in the 1960s, ABA methods
gained popularity treating children with autism in the 1980s because the therapy
works. Based on decades of research, (Read the research) ABA is proven to be the
most effective method to teach children and adolescents with Autism Spectrum
Disorder (ASD) and other developmental disabilities. ... Show more content on

The team then creates measurable goals that address the triggering factors with the
purpose of reducing maladaptive behavior, even if it s complex, and promoting
adaptive behavior.
During therapy sessions, the therapist breaks objectives into small goals, offers
positive support, includes prompts, and promotes practice. Families also receive
training so they can use the same techniques at home. Over time, the therapist collects
data, tweaks the goals and helps the child master each step and build on their
achievements, a strategy that improves overall success.
While there are varying applications of Applied Behavior Analysis, Invo Behavior

Immortals Of Shiva
IMMORTALS OF MELUHA BOOK REVIEW
Summary: Immortals of Meluha by Amish is the first book of Shiva trilogy that
focuses on the making of the legend of lord Shiva. The story starts with the journey
of a person called Shiva.. He migrates from his home territory to Meluha in search of
safety and shelter. Shiva has to abandon his native place as it is frequently attacked
by neighbouring barbarian tribes leading to violence and bloodshed. When Shiva
abandons his land he meets Nandi, who is an outsider who comes from Meluha and
offers Shiva a safe passage to his land. Shiva accepts his proposal for the purpose of
saving his community from the barbarians. Shiva s arrival in Meluha started his
adventure of Neelkanth the man with blue throat . Shiva s throat turns azure as soon
as he drinks Somras. The Meluhans call themselves Suryavanshi and strongly believe
that the legend of Neelkantha would lead them to victory over the Evil of

It uses unique terminologies. The best part of book is its story. The author has
portrayed our classical legends like Shiva, Sati, Nandi, Birbhadra, Daksh as true
human beings of flesh and blood and has used our Classical legends as the
springboard of his story. Author uses a lot of modern world lingo and also author
describes characters a bit modern. The characters are not new, but the tales, told in
the third person narration, are totally a creation of notional thinking. The objectivity
of the author over the pivotal question of Virtue/Vice also allows the readers to
form their opinion independently and rationally. True to its pseudo epics structure,
the author has broken the stories into small episodes and readers will be attracted to
it once they start reading. There is a veracious unity of Time, Place and action in the
book though some reliable distractions have provided it a different level to our

A Plea for a Peircean Turn in Analytic Philosophy Essay
A Plea for a Peircean Turn in Analytic Philosophy
ABSTRACT: Criticisms of analytic philosophy have increased in intensity in the last
decade, denouncing specifically its closing in on itself, which results in barrenness
and ignorance of real human problems. The thought of C. S. Peirce is proposed as a
fruitful way of renewing the analytic tradition and obviating these criticisms. While
this paper is largely a reflection on Hilary Putnam s study of the historical
development of analytic philosophy, not only can some of its main roots be traced
back to Peirce, but also the recent resurgence of pragmatism can be regarded as a
pragmatist renovation of the analytic tradition. Further, Peirce s thought offers

On the one hand, not only can some of the main roots of analytic philosophy be
traced back to Peirce, but the recent resurgence of pragmatism (Bernstein, 1992) can
also be regarded as a pragmatist renovation of analytic philosophy. On the other hand,
Peirce s thought offers suggestions for tackling some of the most stubborn problems
in contemporary philosophy, and in particular he may help us to shoulder once again
the philosophical responsibility which has been largely abdicated by much of 20th
century philosophy (Debrock, 1992: 1).
In order to show this, my paper is divided in four sections: 1) A brief description of
the decline of analytic philosophy; 2) the return of the history of philosophy as a
key to its recovery; 3) Charles S. Peirce s relevance, and finally, 4) Peirce and analytic
philosophy.
1. The decline of analytic philosophy
When Wolfgang Spohn became the managing editor of the new Erkenntnis he
referred to its first eight volumes as a historically singular document, signaling a new
era in philosophy with great enthusiasm and optimism (Spohn, 1990:1). But sixty
years after the founding of Erkenntnis it is really difficult to be so enthusiastic about
analytic philosophy when one notices the decline of logical empiricism, the
bewildering specialization within philosophical inquiry, and contemporary
disorientation and eclecticism in philosophy. These
Description Of A Database Management System

Final Research Paper to Pass
A database is an organized collection of data. It is the collection of tables, queries,
reports, viewings, and other objects. The data are typically organized to model
aspects of reality in a way that supports processes requiring information, such as
modelling the structure of a major business such as Walmart, and all of its data
including things like their inventory, customers, and their employees. A database
management system is a computer software application that interacts with the user,
other applications, and the database itself to capture and analyze data. A general
purpose database management system is designed to allow the definition, creation,
querying, update, and administration of databases. The Database uses terms that are
key for anyone to sift through the collection of data that any company or business
collects. terminology consists of keywords that will help users select desired pieces
of data. The primary key is a special relational database table column of a collection
of columns appointed to individually identify all table records. The primary key s
main features include: it cannot contain a unique value for each row of data, and it
cannot contain null values. The primary key is either an existing table column or a
column that is explicitly initiated by the database according to a defined sequence.
The foreign key is a column or group of columns in a relational database table that

Descriptive Essay About Ez Energy
The first thing that pops out in the room is the crinkled up wrappers, scattered
around the room everywhere, some torn up and in the trash. There were even
some wrappers that were still brand new, some on tubs and bottles, and some of
them unfinished and uncolored. These wrappers had all different colors and
designs, but they all read, Ez Energy. All of the wrappers were very glossy but also
smooth, you could hear the crinkle noise when you felt the wrappers. In the room
there were at least over different 100 wrappers, but none of them perfect in the
eyes of a perfectionist. These wrappers were just the start of the items in the large
office room. One of the most noticeable things in the room were just two simple
words, Ez Energy. Although it might not sound important, in this room it those
words are very important. There wasn t a spot that you can t glance at without
seeing those two words. The words were on everything that was possible to think
of, large banners on the wall reading, Ez Energy , brand new glossy stickers with
those two words on them, even oversized t shirts and hoodies with embroidered
words on them which say, Ez Energy. In this room there were even logos with those
two words on them, everywhere plastered throughout the whole room. Those words
were the name of a failing energy drink company called, Ez Energy. Also in the office
room, a large king sized bedwith many things scattered all over it. The bed frame

A Birds Eye View By Annie Dillard
Perspective: A Birds Eye View
Birds appear in many fields that require skills or talent. You can find artist drawing
them, scientists observing them, and poets writing about them. Sometimes these
things overlap and meet one another. John James Audubon not only studied birds for
a living, but also drew them for the sake of science. Annie Dillard illustrates a flock
of birds flowing overheard with her words, while Audubon takes a more technical
approach. Even though they experienced the same encounter, their backgrounds
forced them to take different perspectives while talking about birds.
Audubon sees a flock of birds overhead and instinctively takes notes on them,
counting each bird to further his data. Being a member of the ornithological
The Impact Of Material Failure In The Titanic Disaster
The failure of engineering materials is almost always an undesirable event for many
reasons include putting human lives in hazard and causing economic losses.
However, even if the causes and the behavior of materials may be known, it is
difficult and not guaranteed to prevent the failures. It is the responsibility of the
engineer to realize beforehand and plan for possible failure and, in the event that
failure does occur, to fix its cause and then take appropriate preventive measures
against future incidents. This essay is going to analyze material failure during Titanic
incident, different measures to take to prevent the same failure, understand the
impact of mechanical engineering solutions. Before writing further about material
failure, let s start with short history about Titanic incident.
Titanic was the largest ship in the time of her construction, 1909. Her dimensions
were nearly 900 feet long, and 46000 tons of weight. Unfortunately, the Titanic
experienced the worst possible accident in the sea when she smashed a massive
iceberg and sank in less than three hours. The accident damaged almost 300 feet of
the ship s hull, over one thousand people died, and the crash allowed water to get in
the ship.
When the Titanic crashed with the iceberg, the hull steel (watertight body of a ship
or boat) failed because of the brittle fracture. This fracture is a type of catastrophic
failure in structural materials because it occurs without any indication of plastic
deformation

The contents and assignment in this course has helped me understand the various
theories of leadership and how different leadership styles can have a negative or
positive effect on followers and organizations. The leadership theories helped me
understand the concept of leadership better because it educates me on the different
leadership options that are available. Leadership and followership is not based on
specific characteristics. Leaders must draw from things and approaches to find the
right style. A follower s attitude determines the way a leader leads. According to
Johnson (2011) Being a good follower means ensuring your boss is supported, but
only if he is making optimum decisions .
As a good follower, I need to accept responsibility and I need to be aware of the tasks
that I have to take on. I have to readily support my leader at all times and I should
be able to voice my opinions to my leader in a very supportive way. Leaders can
only lead an organization successfully if they have personalities that appeal to their
followers. The individual reflection and big five
Michael Vey Quotes
I give the book Michael Vey 1 The Prisoner of Cell 25 5 out of 5 stars because it is
action filled, the main character goes through many different emotions, and because it
has many unexpected turns.
Michael Vey may seem like a normal 14 year old boy, but really, he is electric.
Michael s best friend, Ostin Liss, and newfound friend, cheerleader Taylor Ridley

They also find out someone, or something, is hunting them and have hunted the
others like them. After Michael s mother is kidnapped this journey begins with
Michael s friends and finding out more about his electricity.

The colonists did not want shop owners to increase prices so high that they would
become poor trying to buy essential items to live. The shop owners and towns
people agreed to this regulation in 1676 and made fair trade in Connecticut. The
shopkeepers, under the regulation, were told that, they do not enrich themselves
suddenly and inordinately (by opposing prices and wages to the impoverishing

for one reason to get rich quick. They did not move to the New World for freedom

that there were many more men than women that came over and these men most

The Importance Of Muslim Wedding Ceremony
Muslim Wedding Ceremony Muslim Wedding Ceremony the wedding ceremony is
always celebrations no matter what religious people have there is always have
enjoying movement. Muslim wedding ceremony was different from the Hindu
ceremony, but that s what I want to experience with. Here I came in Muslim wedding
ceremony with lots of guest and relatives that were invited. As I walk through they
welcome me with red flower I was little nervous because they were stranger to me.
There were lots of people coming with the gift or with their friends and family. The
wedding was in the church Conner side of the forest with lots of green trees. The
place inside was very beautiful hanging cross the red, yellow and white flower.
People were started to take a picture with their friend and relatives. As I look closer
as I could, I saw that they have very special place where they both can sit together
and follow their rules. Every guest has a smile on their face and it was very joyful
movement. Muslim people followed the traditional Islamic wedding rituals
include different kind of aspects the wedding such as, audience, Maher, vows
blessings, color, Party. In additionally, the ceremony start with the audience is
basally that Muslim people have one rule during the wedding that was they had to
get separated by gender. They had one place that is just for a man and another was
for women. They give so much importance to their audience that was invited to the
ceremony. They will significantly follow that rule because it was from the old
generation to today s generations. Later on the audience is required to not wear the
shoes during the ceremony they had some place that they can keep their shoes in the
safe place. The audience is required for joining with them and also help them if they
need help to do something. They announce that most of the audience should wear
their culture dress, but is not required for the guest. They just want their relatives to
wear the kurta and cap that was written the god name on it so, they believe that they
gives more respect about their god or culture. Therefore, they are very responsible
with each other and they know how to respect their guest who was invited. Maher is

Absorbance and Spectrophotometry
Experiment 2: Absorbance and Spectrophotometry
ABSTRACT:
This was an investigation into the effects of different wavelengths of light on
methylene blue and carmine red on the absorbance value on a spectrophotometer. A
spectrophotometer is used to measure light intensity by emitting a single light source
through a cuvette of coloured solution. The particles in the solution, which are
coloured, absorb the light depending on how concentrated it is and this produces an
electronic reading from the photometer which is the absorbance value. The maximum
absorption was found for both solutions and was used to calculate the molar
extinction coefficient of methylene blue. An unknown concentration of methylene
blue was calculated by using ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Figure 4. Graph showing dilutions of methylene blue and the absorptions each
solution gives
The black line on figure 4 represents the regression line. We can use this to find the
concentration of the unknown concentration of methylene blue solution by drawing a
tangent to the regression line at absorbance 0.262 (where the unknown absorbed) and
reading down from that point on the graph to the concentration. The concentration of
the unknown methylene blue is 4.4 x 10 6 mol dm 3.
We can find the molar extinction coefficient by substituting values of absorbance and
the concentration of the unknown concentration of methylene blue into Beer s laws
equation.
Absorbance = k c t
k = absorbance / c t
k = 0.262 / 4.4 x 10 6 x 1
k = 59545 mol dm 3 cm 3
Therefore, k, the molar extinction coefficient is 59545 mol dm 3 cm 3.
DISCUSSION:
The main objectives of this experiment was to find the unknown concentration of
methylene blue by using a spectrophotometer. I found the maximum absorption for
methylene blue and carmine red (please refer to figure 1) and using this I determined
a more accurate maximum absorption value for each solution by taking further
readings around the peak of each line to determine the maximum. However, the
findings of maximum absorption for methylene blue and carmine red may not be as
accurate as we think
Julius Caesar Decisions
Everyone has to make decisions, but making them becomes even more difficult
when you are in the spotlight. In, The Tragedy of Julius Caesar, there are many
decisions to make, like when Caesar came back from Rome, he was offered the
crown three times but denies it. He does this because he wants to feel needed,
Brutus and the other conspirators realized what Caesar was doing and that he had
the chance to be dangerous. With the help of Cassius s letters, Brutus joined the
conspirators, and they made a plan to kill Caesar. Caesar thought that all of these
people were his friends and felt betrayed when they killed him. Five main points
make someone a tragic hero: they are physically or spiritually wounded, which
resulted in their death, a leader of men, learns something... Show more content on

In Act IV, scene iii, line 282, Caesar s ghost says To tell thee thou shalt see me at
Philippi (Shakespeare 942). At first, Brutus is astounded to see the ghost and does
not recognize it. Though when the ghost calls Brutus an evil spirit, he realizes
who it is. In this quote, Caesar s ghost is saying that Brutus will see him at the
battlefields of Philippi. During one of the battles, Brutus gets another visit from
the undead Caesar; he knows that his time has come. Though Brutus said that he
would never take his own life as he saw it as cowardly, he accepts his fate and
avenges Caesar s death by taking his own life. These three reasons show how
Brutus is a tragic hero. Brutus chooses to kill Caesar even though he had no reason
to harm him because he thought it was best for Rome. Brutus also learned that he
made mistakes, like letting Antony speak at Caesar funeral; which is why Rome
turned on him. He also got a visit from Caesar s ghost; Caesar wanted revenge for
what Brutus did to him. This was a whole sequence of events, and it all leads back
to making a serious decision; this decision turned out to be very big because it cost
many people their
The History Boys And Educating Rita
The History Boys and Educating Rita have common themes running through the
spine of each text, regarding formal education and learning for self satisfaction.
The History boys tells the story of 8 academic working and middle class boys from
a grammar school in Sheffield whom are applying for Oxford and Cambridge
university in the 1980 s and are studying intensely to succeed. Their teachers, Hector
and Irwin have a conflicting approach to education. Irwin teaches the boys
specifically how to pass their exams but contrarily Hector teaching style encourages
learning for the purpose of obtaining knowledge. Bennett comments on these
differing types of education via the characters of Hector and Irwin. Educating Rita,
set also in the 1980 s and located in Northern England is about a woman who enters
the world of formal university education as a mature student on an Open University
course. She has never had a strict and authentic education as she comes from a
working class background, so she wants to prove to herself that she can triumph and
live a better life. Both scripts imply that formal education can be obtained, however
at the compromise of individual intellectual flare and distinctiveness. Initially in the
text, Rita and the group of boys both are unrefined, raw and sincere with their way of
viewing and analysing scholarly stimulus. However they both lose this quality as the
plays progress due to the education system moulding them to pass exams and not to
obtain wisdom.
The Pros And Cons Of The National Debt

TITLE
In today s society, the national debt is a hot topic. Many, like myself, view the
national debt as a problem. However, though some oppose the national debt in words,
their actions indicate otherwise. To illustrate, statistics show that the national debt has
jumped from $925 billion in 1982 to almost $14.4 trillion in 2017 (Benjamin 701). I
truly believe the national debt to be a hinderance to America with significant side
effects. First of all, the national debt hurts the economy. In order to give context, the
national debt is debt held by the public but also includes intragovernmental debt
(Benjamin 704). This debt includes loans from investors, foreign countries, and U.S.
citizens (Benjamin 704). Experts have determined that when the national debt
becomes as big or bigger than the economy that America is in trouble (Benjamin
701). A national as well as a global financial crisiscould occur because of America s
enormous debt. The question is then raised: Why does the government continue to
borrow money instead of paying off the debt? One reason is financial crises. When
something unexpected happens, unemployment usually skyrockets. Therefore, tax
revenues and other sources of government income are decreased which causes them
to borrow more to meet the financial need (Benjamin 704). Besides unemployment,
higher taxes and interest rates occur during a financial crisis which

ECONOMIC PROBLEMS ASSOCIATED WITH PETROLEUM EXPLORATION
AND PRODUCTION ACTIVITIES
Petroleum E P Activities are characterized by all forms of environmental impacts at
different levels of its operations ranging from exploration, development and
production, transportation and distribution, marketing, decommissioning and
rehabilitation. At the exploration phase, there are the disturbances of forest and
ground surface from related activities such as site clearance, construction of roads,
tank farms, brine pits and pipelines and other land modifications necessary for the
drilling of exploration and production wells and construction of production facilities
(Kharaka and Dorsey 2005). According to Christen (2004) some of the environmental
problems associated with petroleum E P activities include oil spills, gas flaring and
venting, discharges of petroleum derived chemicals wastes, contamination of
controlled water sources, contamination of soil and sediments, the destruction of the
farmland and the marine environment. The major environmental issues arose
primarily from the improper disposal of large volumes of petroleum derived
hazardous waste streams, such as oil and toxic sludge (Eweje, 2006 and Aniefiok et
al 2013), equipment failure, oil spills/operational discharges and sabotage of
petroleum facilities (Asthana and Asthane 2003). All these have grave effects on all
aspects of the environmental media, creating lots of
Adnan Judy Case
Seventeen years ago, a girl went missing, then a body was uncovered. What chain
of events had occurred in order to compose this crime? As presented and narrated
by Sarah Koenig, the Serial podcast informs readers on the murder of a highschool
girl. The year was 1999 and Hae Min Lee, the victim of the crime, was found
strangled and buried in Leakin Park. Adnan Syed, Hae s ex boyfriend, was deemed
the main suspect responsible for her death. Supposedly, his motive was jealousy and
anger caused after Hae had broken up with him in exchange for the companionship of
her co worker, Don. Although this wasn t the case, according to Adnan and other
people who knew him. Yet Adnan was still tried as guilty, and the foundation for that
case was the information... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The crime had taken place in a twenty one minute time frame, though this affidavit
extracts Adnan from the scene, placing him in the library during the extent of the
murder. In the letter it was written, Dear Adnan I hope I spelled it right. I m not
sure if you remember talking to me in the library on January 13, but I remember
chatting with you (Episode 1: The Alibi, Page 18). According to Asia Mcclain,
author of the affidavit, Adnan had spoken to her at library when he was supposedly
enacting the deed of strangling Hae to death. The contents of the letter as opposed
to what was established about the time frame of Hae s death clearly demonstrates
that Adnan is innocent, Quote, We left around 2:40, unquote. Remember, Hae is

time with Asia at the library, being there during the frame of time in which Hae s
murder occurred, making it impossible for him to be the killer. Adnan Syed has an

Macroeconomics Affecting The Business Environment

QUESTION: IDENTIFY AND EXPLAIN TEN (10) MACROECONOMIC
VARIABLES AFFECTING A NAMED BUSINESS ENVIRONMENT.
HOW CAN THESE BE REGULATED?
INTRODUCTION
In today s world, no business operates in isolation without interacting with the
environment where it operates. Irrespective of the nature of business whether public
or private organization; manufacturing; service industry; local or international firm,
its operations are inhibited by the environment in which it operates.
During 2003 2007, Nigeria attempted to implement an Economic Empowerment

Economic Growth
Aggregate Growth Rates. Low or declining aggregate growth rates often weaken the
debt servicing capacity of domestic borrowers and contribute to increasing credit risk.
Recessions have preceded many episodes of systemic financial distress. Sectoral
Slumps. A slump in the sectors where financial institutions loans and investments are
concentrated could have an immediate impact on financial system soundness. It
deteriorates the quality of financial institutions portfolios and profitability margins,
and lowers their cash flow and reserves. In transition economies, these problems may
also arise due to lack of progress in the restructuring of state owned enterprises.
Balance of Payments
Current Account Deficit. A rise in the ratio of the current account deficit to GDP is
generally associated with large external capital inflows that are intermediated by the
domestic financial system and could facilitate asset price and credit booms. A large
external current account deficit could signal vulnerability to a currency crisis with
negative implications for the liquidity of the financial system, especially if the deficit
is financed by short term portfolio capital inflows. Financial crises that have

Experience is not what happens to a man; it is what a man does with what happens

and can affect how that person becomes whom they are. The characters in the three
stories, all go through experiences and make choices throughout their lives that
change the way they act in the future and alter their lives in a good or bad way. In
the short story The Painted Door by Sinclair Ross, Anne the main character is very
conservative at first and does not enjoy her husband, John. Anne does not have
much caring for a dull witted fellow (Ross 226), and makes it seem like she
deserves better. As the story progresses, Anne lets go of her self control and has an
affair with Steven while John is away tending to his father.... Show more content on

The Transition Between High School And College
All children become an adult at some point in their lives. The transition between high
school and college exemplifies this transition. Yet few of these students feel prepared
for the challenge that is adult life. After living with their parents for 17 18 years, the
move away from home and getting saddled with a plethora of responsibilities can be
jolting. William Allen has many graduation requirements, but an Independent Living
class is not one of them. This needs to change. High Schoolought to prepare students
for the everyday aspect of collegeand life after school, not just the academic aspect of
college. The graduation requirements of the AllentownSchool district include 4 years
of English, 3 years of math and science, and 2 years of foreign language
(PROGRAM OF STUDIES 2015 2016 William Allen High School Louis E. Dieruff
High School, 7). It does not include any sort of class designed to help students learn
important life techniques. School is designed to prepare us for college and the
difficult transition between high school and college. But the way our high school
curriculum is designed it only prepares us for the academic aspect of college, and
without regard to people who may choose to take a gap year or not go to college.
When going to college, students may worry about the dorms. They must adjust to
college lifestyle and making new friends. The additional stress of being suddenly
ladled with a plethora of responsibilities on top of this stress can be daunting.
Zappos Customer Service
1. Zappos logistics contribute to its core competency and competitive advantage
Sharing Information with Suppliers Zappos has a very special relationship with all
of its suppliers. Through every interaction they work to WOW them by not only
being great business partners but Zappos shares all of their inventory information with
them. They developed an Extranet which allows venders to see on hand inventory,
sales and pricing and margins. This insight provides Zappos with a clear competitive
advantage when it comes to managing their inventory. Instead of only having internal
buyers worry about when and what to purchase the venders themselves can make
recommendations. If a supplier sees that one item is selling really well they can ...

This move would have severe tradeoffs when it comes to customers and UPS.
Currently Zappos is UPS number 3 next day air shipping customer. By not utilizing
this service it could have a significant impact on UPS and Zappos relationship with
UPS. Even though Zappos would still use UPS for the ground shipping, UPS would
see a significant revenue drop since next day air shipping is more expensive.
Since only 60% of customers would receive their order within 2 days the other 40%
would not get that WOW factor of fast delivery. Zappos is known for its fast delivery
and service and without that customer satisfaction may drop. Having 40% of
customers not being having a WOW experience could significantly hurt the customer
base.
3. Expanding the business
I would expand Zappos by extending the supply web to current retailers such as
Target or Macy s. Take Target for example. On Target.com they have an extensive
shoe selection which the inventory needs to be stored in a Target distribution
center. Zappos could hold this inventory and make the shipments when someone
orders shoes on Target.com. This would benefit both Target and Zappos. Target
would be able to reduce their shoe inventory in their distribution centers. They
would also be able to offer wider selection of shoes on Target.com. Zappos would
benefit by gaining a large portion of new customers who are regular Target guests. A
second way I would expand Zappos would be to rely more on

only as compensation for the services provided. Regardless, the demise of the

second community initiative called Community Urban Development Incorporated. It

Analyzing Chamberlain s Seven Army Values
oshua L. Chamberlain was a greatly decorated and respected Union officer. During
the battle of Gettysburg, Chamberlain had acquired the rank of Brigadier General
and had led the 20th Maine Regiment to counterattack the Confederates. Joshua not
only had the daring ability to attack the Confederates but he had also had the ability
to persuade men that he d been given to continue fighting. Throughout the battle of
Gettysburg Chamberlain had displayed some, if not all, of the seven army values.
One of the most prominent values Joshua had displayed was respect. Early in the
morning, he had been approached by his right hand man Buster Kilrain, who had
informed Joshua that he was about to receive 120 veterans from the Second Maine.
However, these veterans had been accidentally signed up for three years in the
service instead of two like... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
He had told the 150 men that he would not shoot them if they disobeyed him or
refused to fight. The reason for this is because most of the people that were in that
group were actually from Maine similar to Chamberlain. He knew that in a way it
would be against what loyalty means if he killed them. He didn t want to shoot
people that came from the same place as him and who decided to fight just like
him. He stays loyal to his country, his state, his brother and to his men that he had
been commanding. I would also say that he carried out his duty to his country.
Throughout his years of service he acquired the rank of Lieutenant Colonel of the
20th Maine Volunteer Infantry Regiment. He also displayed selfless service,
integrity and personal courage. These values are all relatively similar in that they all
have something to do with the way that one would carry themselves and their beliefs.
Judging from the way he treated the men he was in charge of showed us that he
would ve done anything in his power to defend them and fight right next to
Effects of Religious Rival in The Shopkeepers Millennium...
The Shopkeepers Millennium, by Paul E. Johnson explains the causes and effects
of the religious revival in Rochester, New York. Religious revivals took place all
over America but, the greatest took place in Rochester with the help of the
evangelist, Charles Finney. He convinced many that they could make a better
society with the help of God. Finney persuaded the people saying God has made
man a moral free agent (pg. 4), suggesting that man can choose to be good or evil;
and If Christians united and dedicated their lives to the task, they could convert the
world and bring on the millennium... (pgs. 3 4). If everyone worked together to do
the moral good and encourage others to do it there will be a better world. Based on
Rochester s revival, Johnson argues that religion was used by the middle classto
enforce social control over the working class and uses Durkheim s Sociologyto prove
it. Indeed, middle class used religion to regulate the working class because they
wanted to re establish the authority that was lost when they dissolved family work
relationships and religion was a way to get wage earners to be obedient.
Before 1820, the workers lived with their boss and the boss was responsible for his
workers and family. Since the boss was the patriarch, the workers listened and
followed his command. However, when the Erie Canal opened the improvement in
transportation extended the market converting farmers to businessmen. Bosses were
now busy hiring employees and

Observation Report On Coaching Observation
Intro
For the coaching observation project I observed the head coach of the Ohio State
Buckeyes, Urban Meyer. I watched him on TV when Ohio State played Penn
State. The reason I selected Urban Meyer to do my coaching observation is
because he is the coach I decided to model my coaching philosophy after. The
reason I chose this game specifically is because this is a very important game and I
want to see how he handles his team in high pressure situations.
Review
1.Coaching style used or observed
A coaching style is the specific way a coach leads his team. The coaching style Urban
Meyer used was a laissez faire type coach. A laissez faire type coached is defined as a
leader who makes as few decisions as possible. During the weeks prior ... Show more

His non verbal communication was just his facial expressions that his players and
assistant coaches can see. His team was losing for most of the game and you could
tell he was not happy. Penn State returned the opening kick off and he looked
disappointed, but he kind of kept his composure. Later in the 2nd quarter during
another kick return that was returned pretty far by Penn State his anger was a little
more visible as he was yelling and appeared very angry. Later once Ohio State started
to play better you could see his attitude change and he got happier. I m not sure if his
negative attitude made his team play worse, it is just something to think about
whenever I am a head coach.
3.Reinforcement techniques
Reinforcement techniques are used to increase or decrease a behavior. During a
game, especially on the stage that Urban Meyer is coaching, it is important for his
players to play well. Some techniques that Urban Meyer used to reinforce his
players during the game I observed were negative discipline. His special teams
were struggling a lot, especially his kickoff team. They were playing so bad that he
decided to remove multiple players from it and add starters from other positions onto
the kick off team to try and have better success. This shows that if you want to play,
you have to perform.
4.Motivation techniques
Motivation techniques are how a coach
A Short Note On Scsi Test Vehicle ( Stv )
Introduction
SCSI Test Vehicle (STV) is a project to develop an FCP Storage emulator using
FICON Express 16G channel adapter present on System z machine. STV is a
specialized Firmware (FW) load into a channel adapter that provides the function of
a FCP Target (Fibre channel SCSI Storage Control Unit). STV emulates IBM shark
disk storage.
This document is intended at describing the design and implementation of STV
Emulation support on Power Servers/Blades. The scope of this document is mainly
limited to STV component in STV Type FC channel firmware. This document
contains information collected from other documents and design discussions. STV
Emulation support on Power Servers/Blades enables qualification/test floor teams to
use the STV Type channel firmware to test SCSIstream protocol capable devices not
just on system z but other servers such as zBX and zFX as well. Problem Statement
The Current STV based storage emulator requires a FICON express I/O Hardware
and system z for emulation. This is useful for testing in a System z environment but
proves uneconomical in regular zBX or zFX qualification. Moreover since STV uses
the resources within the FICON express module, which are limited. Emulation of
Enhanced features such as multipath or increased LUNs is not possible. This limits
the test coverage of the test team. This project tries to work around some or most of
the limitations by moving STV emulation to a Power server.
Limitation of STV:
High cost of testing for
Erikson s Eight Stages Of Psychosocial Development
When I look back to my transition to college and how my family has supported me
throughout my life, I realized that many developmental theories could apply. In
Erikson s Eight Stages of Psychosocial Development, he uses different ranges of
age to portray one s crises and dilemmas in various stages of life (Bjorklund, 2015).
As an 18 year old college student, I feel connected to the fifth stage of Erikson s
Stages of Psychosocial Development: Identity versus Role Confusion. In the fifth
stage, Erikson describes that during the ages 13 18, most teens are transitioning to
young adults and this is the stage in human development where they are trying to
find their identity in their occupation, gender/sex role, religion, and politics
(Bjorklund, 2015). Either they have found their identity or they have failed to find
their identity which leads into a role confusion. During my transition into college, I
experienced an identity crisis for not knowing what I wanted to study or pursue as
a career. Before I came to college, I was considering a career in Math and I thought
I knew what I wanted to study. However, as I grew older and saw different
perspectives of my intended career as a college student, I changed my mind. Although
I have begun to answer some of these questions about gender roles, religion, and
politics, I am still uncertain of my occupational identity. Although Erikson s stages of
human development might have fit with the expectations in his generation, I think his

Epidemiology of Chickenpox
This essay was written to explain the epidemiology of chickenpox and allow the
reader to develop a better understanding of the disease. The author intended for the
reader to become informed about the causes, symptoms, mode of transmission,
complications, treatment and mortality and morbidity rates. Also, the reader will
become familiar with the determinants of health and contributing factors to develop
varicella, the relation of the epidemiologic triangle, the role of the community health
nurse, as well as identify a national organization that reduces the impact of the disease
on the community.

For patients who are at high risk for complications an antiviral can be prescribed
called acyclovir. Acyclovir can help reduce symptoms in the early stages; twenty four
hours after the rash appears (Gould, 2014). Mortality and morbidity rates are higher
for adults and those how are immunocompromised ( Khandelwal Kumawat, 2008).
Centers for Disease Control 2014, has revealed that the number of chickenpox
outbreaks in the United States has decreased significantly since the vaccination was
introduced. If the disease is still acquired after vaccination symptoms are mild
resulting in fewer lesions and low or no fever (CDC, 2014). Centers for Disease
Control, 2014 state that four million people would be infected by chickenpox in the
United States alone, 10,600 people hospitalized and 100 to 150 deaths before the
vaccination was initiated.
Determinants of health can be both social and physical factors that can either help
avoid or put one at increased risk for development of a disease such as varicella.
Some examples of social determinants of health can be quality of education, public
safety, language barriers, culture, social support and socioeconomic conditions
(Healthy People, 2013). These determinants can negatively impact the community, for
instance if the population of focus is one of poverty level with low rates of quality
education, and high incidence of crime this can make it difficult to obtain
Home Depot Life Cycle
The decisions made by operations managers are generally shaped by where the
product is with respect to its life cyle. In other words, firms always take a life cycle
approach when it comes to managing their products. Yet, many of them put this
approach aside when it comes to managing their customers . Once the product is
sold, the returns are generally seen as a secondary issue to be taken care of and its
effect on the potential revenue stream is mostly ignored. According to a recent
report published,1 90 per cent of unhappy customers never buy again from a firm
that has given them poor service and that it costs businesses between 3 and 10 times
less to keep an existing customerthan finding new ones. A major part of the customer
service, especially in a retailing... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
In the same year, Home Depot and Lowe s net revenues were
$66.2 billion and $47.2 billion, respectively, which means Home Depot s returns
were approximately $5.3 billion and Lowe s were around $3.8 billion. Assuming 20
per cent of these returns and/or exchanges were not managed effectively in one way
or another, that is $1.8 billion in merchandise. If half of these customers choose to
stay away permanently (not the 90 per cent mentioned previously), that still means
close to a billion in potential lost sales each year indefinitely, so an initial sales is not
the end of a revenue management process.
A recent poll found that 91 per cent of consumers interviewed considered return
policies and processes as important to their decision about where to make a
purchase. Based on all these statistics, why do firms not use the most liberal return
policies they can to maximize their customers experience and avoid such losses?
Part of it is due to customer abuse and fraudulent returns, which according to the
same NRF report is about only 8 per cent of the total returns. This is obviously more
of a problem for brick and mortar retailers than it is for
What Does It Mean To Be Popular
Popularity in Today s Society When most people think of popular people they
think of bullies or people who are just popular because they are mean so they put
themselves above others, which is true and I agree that there are people who are
popular because of that, but there is also people who are friends with everyone
and are nice to everyone and there isn t a single person who doesn t like them. I m
not going to make this essay about bullying but more of what popularity means to
me and how important I think it is to be popular. What does being popular mean
exactly, well if you look up the word popularity the state or condition of being
liked, admired, or supported by many people will be what comes up. How does
someone become popular is a more important question. Most people become
popular by going over the top of others, by putting themselves above others and
thinking that they are more important than them. Which to me isn t true popularity,
if I had to choose I wouldn t use the word popular because it s a word that popular
people like to use, but to me to be popular is to be nice to everyone and work to
where you are and not have to hurt others to make the way to the top. There is
people who are popular by pushing over others and there are people who are popular
because they work hard for what they have.... Show more content on Helpwriting.net

To me it is not important being popular and it s only important if you want to be. If

the type of people you think of when you hear the word popular. If being called
popular is important to you go ahead and think of why, what will be the difference,
will people think of you different, what are you trying to accomplish in the long run
by being called popular or being a popular

The Heroic Quest In Vogler s Fifth Business
Fifth Business is a stellar example of a novel that follows the heroic quest pattern,
and is easily examined through an archetypal lens of a hero s quest. To begin,
almost every heroic story begins with some background on the character, to help
the audience understand and relate to them. I have noticed this in all the movies I
ve seen and books I ve read, if the storyline is a typical one of heroism . Although
there is a greater example of the heroic arc later on in the story, Dunstable s
participation in World War I also serves as a worthy, if short lived, instance of the
heroic quest. Vogler writes that another important step in the hero s journey to
enlightenment is crossing the threshold , typically occurring at, the end of Act One ....

Dunstable is faced with trials and enemies in France, having to survive and kill
others, similar to how the sixth stage of the heroic quest is described (Vogler). He
is literally rewarded with the Victoria Cross and returns with his elixir , both of
which are described by Vogler as crucial stages in the Hero s journey. Fifth Business
also includes many examples of Jungian archetypes, which are also found in typical
heroic stories. Dunstable represents the archetypal self in many ways. The self does
not imply only the main character, but also all the discoveries they make towards
becoming a more developed person (Jung s). He matures as a character, becomes
more in touch with his spirituality, and begins to understand how the world works. In
this way, he becomes more like himself through enlightenment. While at home and in
France, Dunstable encounters several instances of the shadow , another key Jungian
archetype. The shadow is mysterious and evil, often representing a reflection of the

1.What was the Industrial Revolution (collectiv¬¬¬¬¬ely between Great
Britain and the U.S.)? How did this affect production of goods? Was there an effect
on humans at this time? If so, explain.
The Industrial Revolution was a time period, from the 18th century to the 19th
century, where countries were becoming more industrial and urban, where factories

more industrialized and common. In Great Britain, there was more of an increase in
manufacturing and textile production. The manufacturing was being done in homes

When television was first introduced, it was strictly enforced on what could be
broadcasted on television. Now, things are enforced but not as much, they sensor
things that aren t appropriate . I think that graphic images should be more federally
regulated because the government shouldn t suggest those things, and it creates more
problems in the nation than there already are, but at the same time I think not
because of the fact that people should be able to watch whatever they want to without
government regulation. People are allowed to believe what they want to believe, so
why shouldn t they be able to watch what they choose to watch? But I also think that
people don t always make the right decisions and they could be seeing or watching
things that they shouldn t be watching, especially young people. Overall, I think that
you should be allowed to watch whatever you choose, but with some regulations by
the government. Additionally, regulation of television has changed from being strict

mormonism. Young started his career as a carpenter and painter. Young was chosen
to be the leader of the mormons in 1844 after the death of Joseph Smith. The
mormons were originally set up in illinois but then migrated to utah under the

mormon people migrated west to settle the new land to call their own. Young was the
first governor of Utah and also handled Indian affairs, served from 1851 to 1858.
Since he was a mormon he had many problems with non mormon appointees. As
President of the mormon church, Young traveled around to visit each mormon
settlement once a year discussing problems and listening to grievances. One of Young
great accomplishment was the construction of the Salt Lake Temple in Salt Lake

The Physics Of A Bicycle
Every year someone seems to claim that they have come up with the world s first
spokeless bicycle. These claims are accurate in that the bicycle that they have
created are indeed spokeless. However, most of these models are deemed unable to
be rode and need much more work. That is why I was hesitant when I heard about
a group of Yale engineers and their spokeless bicycle invention. Even though I felt
like it would be just like all the others, I decided to learn a bit more about it and
wanted to pass on my finding to the rest of you. A group of Yale students decided
that creating a spokeless bicycle would be a great accomplishment for one of their
mechanical design classes. What makes their version of the spokeless bicycle

we know it.

The Great Depression And World War II
Franklin Delano Roosevelt was the thirty second U.S president, and the only
president to be elected four times. He led American through the trials of the Great
Depression and World War II. He was born on January 30, 1882 in New York.
Franklin D. Roosevelt s curiosity, persistence, and self confidence served to be
extremely helpful traits through his presidency. When he combines all of his
super powers together it makes an amazing success story. Sadly Roosevelt s life
was brutally taken by the deadly disease called polio in Georgia in 1945 from
polio, a highly infectious viral disease; he still managed to lead this country to
providence without fail. His is a president worthy of reputation; He was the beacon of
light that led America to... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Though the relief and reform measures put into place by President Franklin D.
Roosevelt helped lessen the worst effects of the Great Depression in the 1930s, the
economy would not fully turn around until after 1939, when World War II kicked
American industry into high gear (History.com Staff). On June 6, 1944, the United
States and its allies launched the greatest amphibious invasion in history on the
shores of France. Over 150,000 soldiers, sailors, and airmen stormed the beaches of
Normandy beginning a campaign that would end with the unconditional surrender
of Germany in May 1945. Franklin D. Roosevelt, as Commander in Chief of the
United States Armed Forces during World War II, played an active and decisive
role in determining strategy. In his ongoing discussions with British Prime Minister
Winston Churchill and with the American Joint Chiefs of Staff, he steadily
promoted the invasion of the European continent to liberate it from Hitler s
Germany that finally began on D Day (Wordpress). On June 6, 1944, FDR went on
national radio to address the America for the first time about the Normandy
invasion. His speech obtained the method of a prayer. The date and timing of the
Normandy invasion was at the time top secret, and Roosevelt decided to explain
why it was kept secret. Shortly before he went on the air, he added several
handwritten lines to the opening of his
A Future For Mobile Payments
Businesses see a future for mobile payments soon. More and more industries are
being presented with the profits of mobile payments and those industries are viewing
them as opportunities in the modern day world. The competition is on for who is the
biggest and most bad. Now, the millennials are the ones to decide that. According to
new surveys, 72 percent of business executives believe that smartphone payments on
a large scale, are inevitable and 58 percent of businesses have already implemented a
mobile paymentsystem. (Big Think Editors, 2012) In late 2011, Google came up
with Google Wallet in business with Citibank and MasterCard. Google Wallet allows
its users to store payment information in the cloud and pay for things at industries...

For the reason that consumers only need to carry a mobile device rather than
multiple forms of paper and plastic, mobile wallets will be considerably useful.
Also, because they can track users shopping and purchases, mobile payment
systems can offer advanced personal shopper services such as endorsements and
new deals based on one s location and past purchasing history. According to a
recent Pew Research survey, nearly 66 percent of participants believe their
smartphones will replace traditional payment options like credit cards and cash by
2020. (Gramigna, K. 2015). Therefore, a few people do believe that they will be
using their phones instead of cash. Cash may not disappear completely, but it will
not be used as much. As claimed by those that doubt cash will truly disappear,
mobile payments will never replace cash. Data from Intuit shows that 55 percent of
the nation s 27 million small businesses do not accept credit cards. Despite study
after study proving otherwise, many merchants believe it is too expensive to take
credit. Given this, the likelihood of those merchants adopting mobile payment
technology in the near future seems slim. (Quinn, M. 2014) It is too unlikely to
expect cash payments to disappear completely. Nowadays, pulling out your wallet for
cash or using a credit card only takes a few seconds. Opening a mobile wallet app,
pulling up a QR code, or typing in a personal email

Essay On Paper. Business Paper: Sample argument essay

  • 1. Essay On Paper Crafting an essay on the seemingly straightforward topic of "Essay On Paper" may appear deceptively simple at first glance. One might assume that the subject itself, being a familiar medium for expression and communication, would lend itself to an effortless exploration. However, delving into the intricacies of such a seemingly commonplace topic poses a unique challenge. The difficulty arises from the need to transcend the surface-level understanding of paper and its role in writing. A mere recounting of the historical development or a recitation of the physical attributes of paper would fall short of the essay's potential. Instead, the writer must navigate the delicate balance between the tangible and intangible aspects of paper, considering its cultural, social, and symbolic dimensions. Moreover, as the essay unfolds, one may find the challenge in avoiding clichГ©s and banalities associated with the topic. The danger of succumbing to well-worn expressions about the "blank page" or the metaphorical weight of words on paper looms large. The writer must strive to infuse the essay with freshness and originality, steering clear of tired tropes that fail to captivate the reader's attention. The essayist must also grapple with the task of making the exploration of paper's significance relevant and engaging to a contemporary audience. It requires the ability to connect the traditional use of paper to modern communication technologies and the evolving nature of written expression. Bridging the gap between the tangible and the digital while maintaining a coherent narrative can be a challenging tightrope act. In conclusion, while the topic "Essay On Paper" may appear deceptively simple, the journey of crafting a compelling essay unveils layers of complexity. It demands a nuanced understanding of the subject, an adept avoidance of clichГ©s, and the ability to make the exploration relevant to the present era. Writing on such a seemingly mundane topic reveals the true test of a writer's skill in transforming the ordinary into the extraordinary. • 2. 2015 Advanced Micro Devices ( Amd ) In 2015 Advanced Micro Devices (AMD) was in a difficult position. The once formidable competitor in multiple facets of the personal computer market had seen its strong profits turn negative and its debt totals rise. The company was finding it difficult to compete across multiple markets due to a number of factors. The most important of which was a series of weak product offerings, which created a larger gap in the quality of AMD s products when compared with the competition. AMD had once held large market shares in both the CPU (central processing unit) and GPU (graphics processing unit) markets. When each of these products are combined in the personal computer users are able to take on more demanding tasks such as video editing, gaming, ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... In the early 1980 s, IBM chose to purchase Intel s x86 chip architecture and the DOS software operating system designed by Microsoft (Singer, 2005). IBM insisted that Intel provide a second source of chips as to avoid over dependence on one supplier. To accommodate IBM s request Intel and AMD signed a technology exchange agreement to make AMD that second supplier ( Company History ). This agreement limited AMD s access to only the second generation or 286 chip technology. In the 1980 s Intel attempted to eliminate AMD from the process with the 386 family of chips (Singer, 2005). AMD filed for legal action claiming that this was an attempt to create a monopoly and settled in 1987, but this would not be the last time that AMD would seek legal action to prevent Intel from creating a monopoly. In 1991, AMD filed an antitrust complaint again claiming that Intel was engaged in unlawful acts designed to secure and maintain a monopoly. The case was settled in 1992 and the court ruled in AMD s favor by awarding $10 million as well as the ability to license Intel s 386 designs without paying a royalty. Finally, in 1995 AMD settled the rest of its legal disputes by agreeing to a deal that gave AMD a shared interest in the x86 chip design, which is still being used today in personal
  • 3. Longbow Vs Musket Research Paper There has been a debate going on for some time now about longbows v crossbows v musket. While the crossbow and musket gave better penetration against plate armor the longbow gave range and rate of fire. A longbow took many years to master. While i think any fool could be taught to fire a crossbow or musket in a very short period of time. Everyone knows how to fire a longbow but not many can ( i have tried and it s very difficult) It s said you can dodge or get a shield up against arrow because of low velocity you can see it coming 50 meters a second so at 200 meters you have 4 sec s enough time maybe. At Agincourt there were 5000 archers who could fire 10/12 arrows a min at 200 metres plus allowing for fatigue let s say only fired 6 min that s
  • 4. How Did The Economy Affect The Mexican Economy Decades later, another series of events led to a new wave of feminists. In the 1970 s, Mexico became one of the world s largest oil suppliers to the world market. International bankers made loans to Mexico, who promptly accepted them, but sooner than later the interest rates and debt rose to an uncontrollable point. Intending to boost the country s economy, the Lopez Portillo administration spent vast amounts of public spending on electricity generation, construction, the mining industry, and manufacturing. However, the country s debt rose due to the US and other countries taking advantage of their large amounts of oil. The world oil market collapsed, and with it, the Mexican economy. In addition, an earthquake in 1985 killed almost... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Since husbands were away, the mothers became the heads of the family. Despite earning less than their male counterparts, women tended to invest their money in the needs of the household, rather than spending money for their own use. Without the male presence in the home, the families tended to be smaller, and the family income was distributed to fewer members. Therefore their family per capita was greater than when the men were in charge. The economic crisis of the 1980 s caused great harm to the Mexican economy, but had lasting beneficiary effects on genderequality. Because many men often migrated to other parts of the country or bordering countries to find better work, the women were forced to join the workforce. Families assimilated to the lack of presence of women at home, generating creative strategies to continue on. 70% of households bought less food, clothing, shoes, etc. and spent less on transportation and food than prior to the economic crisis. There was a dramatic increase of women aged twenty to twenty four in the workforce, rising by ten percent since prior to the crisis. However, some social customs still remained. While the men still in charge of families were able to eat the more expensive foods such as meat and eggs, female heads of the family ate less hearty, unhealthy food, which mainly consisted of beans, tortillas, fruits and

The Paris Peace Conference Of 1919 Owen McManus Mrs. Shandera, Mrs. Swartz English 11 Pd.8, AP History Pd.1 10 February 2017 Creating More Problems The Paris Peace Conference of 1919 opened on the 18th of January, with delegations from all over the world attending to lay claim to their desires, or gain reparations for their sacrifices throughout the greatest war the world had ever been subject to. The big four countries at the negotiating table were the British under Lloyd George, the French led by Georges Clemenceau, The Italians and their prime minister Vittorio Emanuele Orlando, and The United States of America under President Woodrow Wilson. The Treaty of Versaillesagreed upon in 1919 set in motion events that would be direct causes of World War II. According to Robert Cowley, the treaty stripped Germany of many territories, including Eupen Malmeacutedy, given to Belgium, Alsace Lorraine to France, large amounts of eastern lands to Poland, the Memel region to Lithuania, and most of the Schelswig area of the Danish peninsula to Denmark. Germany lost all of her overseas colonies as well. It also forced Germany to limit their army to 100,000 men, and forbade them certain types of weapons common to modern armies. The worst part of all was that Germany was made to assume all the guilt for the war, and forced them to pay an amount of war reparations unspecified at first, then set around 33 billion gold marks(Cowley). World War One: Treaties says that the peace terms imposed upon the defeated countries, Germany, Austria, Hungary, and Bulgaria, seemed to them to be unfair and unjust punishments.

ABA applies basic behavioral practices, including positive reinforcement, teaching in small steps, prompting, and repeated practice, to facilitate the development of a child s language, social interactions, independent living skills, and other aptitudes. Originated by the scientific principles of Dr. B.F. Skinner in the 1960s, ABA methods gained popularity treating children with autism in the 1980s because the therapy works. The author has portrayed our classical legends like Shiva, Sati, Nandi, Birbhadra, Daksh as true human beings of flesh and blood and has used our Classical legends as the springboard of his story. Author uses a lot of modern world lingo and also author describes characters a bit modern. The characters are not new, but the tales, told in the third person narration, are totally a creation of notional thinking. The objectivity of the author over the pivotal question of Virtue/Vice also allows the readers to form their opinion independently and rationally. True to its pseudo epics structure, the author has broken the stories into small episodes and readers will be attracted to it once they start reading. There is a veracious unity of Time, Place and action in the book though some reliable distractions have provided it a different level to our willing suspension of
  • 8. A Plea for a Peircean Turn in Analytic Philosophy Essay A Plea for a Peircean Turn in Analytic Philosophy ABSTRACT: Criticisms of analytic philosophy have increased in intensity in the last decade, denouncing specifically its closing in on itself, which results in barrenness and ignorance of real human problems. The thought of C. S. Peirce is proposed as a fruitful way of renewing the analytic tradition and obviating these criticisms. While this paper is largely a reflection on Hilary Putnam s study of the historical development of analytic philosophy, not only can some of its main roots be traced back to Peirce, but also the recent resurgence of pragmatism can be regarded as a pragmatist renovation of the analytic tradition. Further, Peirce s thought offers suggestions for tackling some ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... On the one hand, not only can some of the main roots of analytic philosophy be traced back to Peirce, but the recent resurgence of pragmatism (Bernstein, 1992) can also be regarded as a pragmatist renovation of analytic philosophy. On the other hand, Peirce s thought offers suggestions for tackling some of the most stubborn problems in contemporary philosophy, and in particular he may help us to shoulder once again the philosophical responsibility which has been largely abdicated by much of 20th century philosophy (Debrock, 1992: 1). In order to show this, my paper is divided in four sections: 1) A brief description of the decline of analytic philosophy; 2) the return of the history of philosophy as a key to its recovery; 3) Charles S. Peirce s relevance, and finally, 4) Peirce and analytic philosophy. 1. The decline of analytic philosophy When Wolfgang Spohn became the managing editor of the new Erkenntnis he referred to its first eight volumes as a historically singular document, signaling a new era in philosophy with great enthusiasm and optimism (Spohn, 1990:1). But sixty years after the founding of Erkenntnis it is really difficult to be so enthusiastic about analytic philosophy when one notices the decline of logical empiricism, the bewildering specialization within philosophical inquiry, and contemporary disorientation and eclecticism in philosophy. These
  • 9. Description Of A Database Management System Chris Velasquez MGMT 329 Final Research Paper to Pass A database is an organized collection of data. It is the collection of tables, queries, reports, viewings, and other objects. The data are typically organized to model aspects of reality in a way that supports processes requiring information, such as modelling the structure of a major business such as Walmart, and all of its data including things like their inventory, customers, and their employees. A database management system is a computer software application that interacts with the user, other applications, and the database itself to capture and analyze data. A general purpose database management system is designed to allow the definition, creation, querying, update, and administration of databases. The Database uses terms that are key for anyone to sift through the collection of data that any company or business collects. terminology consists of keywords that will help users select desired pieces of data. The primary key is a special relational database table column of a collection of columns appointed to individually identify all table records. The primary key s main features include: it cannot contain a unique value for each row of data, and it cannot contain null values. The primary key is either an existing table column or a column that is explicitly initiated by the database according to a defined sequence. The foreign key is a column or group of columns in a relational database table that implements

There were even some wrappers that were still brand new, some on tubs and bottles, and some of them unfinished and uncolored. These wrappers had all different colors and designs, but they all read, Ez Energy. All of the wrappers were very glossy but also smooth, you could hear the crinkle noise when you felt the wrappers. In the room there were at least over different 100 wrappers, but none of them perfect in the eyes of a perfectionist. These wrappers were just the start of the items in the large office room. One of the most noticeable things in the room were just two simple words, Ez Energy. Although it might not sound important, in this room it those words are very important. There wasn t a spot that you can t glance at without seeing those two words. The words were on everything that was possible to think of, large banners on the wall reading, Ez Energy , brand new glossy stickers with those two words on them, even oversized t shirts and hoodies with embroidered words on them which say, Ez Energy. In this room there were even logos with those two words on them, everywhere plastered throughout the whole room. Those words were the name of a failing energy drink company called, Ez Energy. Also in the office room, a large king sized bedwith many things scattered all over it. The bed frame was a nice oak wood frame, but was
  • 11. A Birds Eye View By Annie Dillard Perspective: A Birds Eye View Birds appear in many fields that require skills or talent. You can find artist drawing them, scientists observing them, and poets writing about them. Sometimes these things overlap and meet one another. John James Audubon not only studied birds for a living, but also drew them for the sake of science. Annie Dillard illustrates a flock of birds flowing overheard with her words, while Audubon takes a more technical approach. Even though they experienced the same encounter, their backgrounds forced them to take different perspectives while talking about birds. Audubon sees a flock of birds overhead and instinctively takes notes on them, counting each bird to further his data. Being a member of the ornithological
  • 12. The Impact Of Material Failure In The Titanic Disaster The failure of engineering materials is almost always an undesirable event for many reasons include putting human lives in hazard and causing economic losses. However, even if the causes and the behavior of materials may be known, it is difficult and not guaranteed to prevent the failures. It is the responsibility of the engineer to realize beforehand and plan for possible failure and, in the event that failure does occur, to fix its cause and then take appropriate preventive measures against future incidents. This essay is going to analyze material failure during Titanic incident, different measures to take to prevent the same failure, understand the impact of mechanical engineering solutions. Before writing further about material failure, let s start with short history about Titanic incident. Titanic was the largest ship in the time of her construction, 1909. Her dimensions were nearly 900 feet long, and 46000 tons of weight. Unfortunately, the Titanic experienced the worst possible accident in the sea when she smashed a massive iceberg and sank in less than three hours. The accident damaged almost 300 feet of the ship s hull, over one thousand people died, and the crash allowed water to get in the ship. When the Titanic crashed with the iceberg, the hull steel (watertight body of a ship or boat) failed because of the brittle fracture. This fracture is a type of catastrophic failure in structural materials because it occurs without any indication of plastic deformation

Blueprint For Professional And Personal Growth Blueprint for Professional Personal Growth Segun Adeyemi Walden University 10/17/2015 Blueprint for Professional Personal Growth EXECUTIVE SUMMARY I am a MBA student taking different courses to develop a great understanding of the various aspects that businesses entails. I want to be well versed in a variety of other areas that will make me confident in my career. ACCOMPLISHMENTS The contents and assignment in this course has helped me understand the various theories of leadership and how different leadership styles can have a negative or positive effect on followers and organizations. The leadership theories helped me understand the concept of leadership better because it educates me on the different leadership options that are available. Leadership and followership is not based on specific characteristics. Leaders must draw from things and approaches to find the right style. A follower s attitude determines the way a leader leads. According to Johnson (2011) Being a good follower means ensuring your boss is supported, but only if he is making optimum decisions . As a good follower, I need to accept responsibility and I need to be aware of the tasks that I have to take on. I have to readily support my leader at all times and I should be able to voice my opinions to my leader in a very supportive way. Leaders can only lead an organization successfully if they have personalities that appeal to their followers. The individual reflection and big five

Michael Vey Quotes I give the book Michael Vey 1 The Prisoner of Cell 25 5 out of 5 stars because it is action filled, the main character goes through many different emotions, and because it has many unexpected turns. Michael Vey may seem like a normal 14 year old boy, but really, he is electric. Michael s best friend, Ostin Liss, and newfound friend, cheerleader Taylor Ridley accidentally discover something, and find out there are others with similar powers. They also find out someone, or something, is hunting them and have hunted the others like them. After Michael s mother is kidnapped this journey begins with Michael s friends and finding out more about his electricity. I gave Michael Vey 5 out of 5 stars because the book is very action filled. I think this quote shows an example of alarm when Michael finds out his mom has been kidnapped. On page 11 it says, As I sat down, Taylor Ridley, who sat in the desk to my left, turned and smiled at me. Taylor is a cheerleader and one of the prettiest girls at Meridian. Heck, she s one of the prettiest girls in any high school anywhere in the world. I chose this quote because it shows how affectionate Michael is, at the beginning of the book, when it comes to Taylor Ridley or just thinking about her. On page 35 it says, Stop it, I said. Make me. I went back to my studying. Less than a minute later another marble hit me in the head. As I looked up, I noticed a metal trim that ran along the wall where Cody was leaning. I don t know why I did it maybe I was still feeling great from finally putting Jack in his place, maybe I was showing off for Taylor. But, most likely, it was a culmination of too many years of being bullied. Whatever the reason, I was done with playing the victim. I slowly reached back and touched the trim behind me and pulsed. Essay about New Englanders vs Cheasapeakers Alex Boyette Mr. Ford APUSH 18 September 2013 New Englanders vs. Chesapeakers (there is no such thing a a Chesapeaker) The people of the New England region were focused more on families and God. Most of the settlers had left England to be free from religious control of The Church of England. Many of the religious people left because they sought God in a different way and were being repressed by the Christians (how?) because of it. In fact may of the people that moved to the New World came over alone and without families. Document C shows that there were many more men than women that came over and these men most likely did not come over with wives because most might not of had one (Doc C). Muslim wedding ceremony was different from the Hindu ceremony, but that s what I want to experience with. Here I came in Muslim wedding ceremony with lots of guest and relatives that were invited. As I walk through they welcome me with red flower I was little nervous because they were stranger to me. There were lots of people coming with the gift or with their friends and family. The wedding was in the church Conner side of the forest with lots of green trees. The place inside was very beautiful hanging cross the red, yellow and white flower. People were started to take a picture with their friend and relatives. As I look closer as I could, I saw that they have very special place where they both can sit together and follow their rules. Every guest has a smile on their face and it was very joyful movement. Muslim people followed the traditional Islamic wedding rituals include different kind of aspects the wedding such as, audience, Maher, vows blessings, color, Party. In additionally, the ceremony start with the audience is basally that Muslim people have one rule during the wedding that was they had to get separated by gender. They had one place that is just for a man and another was for women. They give so much importance to their audience that was invited to the ceremony. They will significantly follow that rule because it was from the old generation to today s generations. Later on the audience is required to not wear the shoes during the ceremony they had some place that they can keep their shoes in the safe place. The audience is required for joining with them and also help them if they need help to do something. They announce that most of the audience should wear their culture dress, but is not required for the guest. They just want their relatives to wear the kurta and cap that was written the god name on it so, they believe that they gives more respect about their god or culture. Absorbance and Spectrophotometry Experiment 2: Absorbance and Spectrophotometry ABSTRACT: This was an investigation into the effects of different wavelengths of light on methylene blue and carmine red on the absorbance value on a spectrophotometer. A spectrophotometer is used to measure light intensity by emitting a single light source through a cuvette of coloured solution. The particles in the solution, which are coloured, absorb the light depending on how concentrated it is and this produces an electronic reading from the photometer which is the absorbance value. The maximum absorption was found for both solutions and was used to calculate the molar extinction coefficient of methylene blue. An unknown concentration of methylene blue was calculated by using ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Figure 4. The concentration of the unknown methylene blue is 4.4 x 10 6 mol dm 3. We can find the molar extinction coefficient by substituting values of absorbance and the concentration of the unknown concentration of methylene blue into Beer s laws equation. Absorbance = k c t k = absorbance / c t k = 0.262 / 4.4 x 10 6 x 1 k = 59545 mol dm 3 cm 3 Therefore, k, the molar extinction coefficient is 59545 mol dm 3 cm 3. DISCUSSION: The main objectives of this experiment was to find the unknown concentration of methylene blue by using a spectrophotometer. I found the maximum absorption for methylene blue and carmine red (please refer to figure 1) and using this I determined a more accurate maximum absorption value for each solution by taking further readings around the peak of each line to determine the maximum. However, the findings of maximum absorption for methylene blue and carmine red may not be as

In, The Tragedy of Julius Caesar, there are many decisions to make, like when Caesar came back from Rome, he was offered the crown three times but denies it. He does this because he wants to feel needed, Brutus and the other conspirators realized what Caesar was doing and that he had the chance to be dangerous. With the help of Cassius s letters, Brutus joined the conspirators, and they made a plan to kill Caesar. Caesar thought that all of these people were his friends and felt betrayed when they killed him. Five main points make someone a tragic hero: they are physically or spiritually wounded, which resulted in their death, a leader of men, learns something... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... In Act IV, scene iii, line 282, Caesar s ghost says To tell thee thou shalt see me at Philippi (Shakespeare 942). At first, Brutus is astounded to see the ghost and does not recognize it. Though when the ghost calls Brutus an evil spirit, he realizes who it is. In this quote, Caesar s ghost is saying that Brutus will see him at the battlefields of Philippi. During one of the battles, Brutus gets another visit from the undead Caesar; he knows that his time has come. Though Brutus said that he would never take his own life as he saw it as cowardly, he accepts his fate and avenges Caesar s death by taking his own life. These three reasons show how Brutus is a tragic hero. Brutus chooses to kill Caesar even though he had no reason to harm him because he thought it was best for Rome. Brutus also learned that he made mistakes, like letting Antony speak at Caesar funeral; which is why Rome turned on him. He also got a visit from Caesar s ghost; Caesar wanted revenge for what Brutus did to him. This was a whole sequence of events, and it all leads back to making a serious decision; this decision turned out to be very big because it cost many people their

The History Boys And Educating Rita The History Boys and Educating Rita have common themes running through the spine of each text, regarding formal education and learning for self satisfaction. The History boys tells the story of 8 academic working and middle class boys from a grammar school in Sheffield whom are applying for Oxford and Cambridge university in the 1980 s and are studying intensely to succeed. Their teachers, Hector and Irwin have a conflicting approach to education. Irwin teaches the boys specifically how to pass their exams but contrarily Hector teaching style encourages learning for the purpose of obtaining knowledge. Bennett comments on these differing types of education via the characters of Hector and Irwin. Educating Rita, set also in the 1980 s and located in Northern England is about a woman who enters the world of formal university education as a mature student on an Open University course. She has never had a strict and authentic education as she comes from a working class background, so she wants to prove to herself that she can triumph and live a better life. Both scripts imply that formal education can be obtained, however at the compromise of individual intellectual flare and distinctiveness. Initially in the text, Rita and the group of boys both are unrefined, raw and sincere with their way of viewing and analysing scholarly stimulus. However they both lose this quality as the plays progress due to the education system moulding them to pass exams and not to obtain wisdom.
  • 21. The Pros And Cons Of The National Debt Allie Mitchell Professor Holste Humanities 115, Section 9 20 November 2017 TITLE In today s society, the national debt is a hot topic. Many, like myself, view the national debt as a problem. However, though some oppose the national debt in words, their actions indicate otherwise. To illustrate, statistics show that the national debt has jumped from $925 billion in 1982 to almost $14.4 trillion in 2017 (Benjamin 701). I truly believe the national debt to be a hinderance to America with significant side effects. First of all, the national debt hurts the economy. In order to give context, the national debt is debt held by the public but also includes intragovernmental debt (Benjamin 704). This debt includes loans from investors, foreign countries, and U.S. citizens (Benjamin 704). Experts have determined that when the national debt becomes as big or bigger than the economy that America is in trouble (Benjamin 701). A national as well as a global financial crisiscould occur because of America s enormous debt. The question is then raised: Why does the government continue to borrow money instead of paying off the debt? One reason is financial crises. When something unexpected happens, unemployment usually skyrockets. Therefore, tax revenues and other sources of government income are decreased which causes them to borrow more to meet the financial need (Benjamin 704). Besides unemployment, higher taxes and interest rates occur during a financial crisis which

At the exploration phase, there are the disturbances of forest and ground surface from related activities such as site clearance, construction of roads, tank farms, brine pits and pipelines and other land modifications necessary for the drilling of exploration and production wells and construction of production facilities (Kharaka and Dorsey 2005). According to Christen (2004) some of the environmental problems associated with petroleum E P activities include oil spills, gas flaring and venting, discharges of petroleum derived chemicals wastes, contamination of controlled water sources, contamination of soil and sediments, the destruction of the farmland and the marine environment. The major environmental issues arose primarily from the improper disposal of large volumes of petroleum derived hazardous waste streams, such as oil and toxic sludge (Eweje, 2006 and Aniefiok et al 2013), equipment failure, oil spills/operational discharges and sabotage of petroleum facilities (Asthana and Asthane 2003). Yet few of these students feel prepared for the challenge that is adult life. After living with their parents for 17 18 years, the move away from home and getting saddled with a plethora of responsibilities can be jolting. William Allen has many graduation requirements, but an Independent Living class is not one of them. This needs to change. High Schoolought to prepare students for the everyday aspect of collegeand life after school, not just the academic aspect of college. The graduation requirements of the AllentownSchool district include 4 years of English, 3 years of math and science, and 2 years of foreign language (PROGRAM OF STUDIES 2015 2016 William Allen High School Louis E. Since only 60% of customers would receive their order within 2 days the other 40% would not get that WOW factor of fast delivery. On Target.com they have an extensive shoe selection which the inventory needs to be stored in a Target distribution center. Zappos could hold this inventory and make the shipments when someone orders shoes on Target.com. This would benefit both Target and Zappos. Throughout the battle of Gettysburg Chamberlain had displayed some, if not all, of the seven army values. One of the most prominent values Joshua had displayed was respect. Religious revivals took place all over America but, the greatest took place in Rochester with the help of the evangelist, Charles Finney. He convinced many that they could make a better society with the help of God. Finney persuaded the people saying God has made man a moral free agent (pg. 4), suggesting that man can choose to be good or evil; and If Christians united and dedicated their lives to the task, they could convert the world and bring on the millennium... (pgs. 3 4). If everyone worked together to do the moral good and encourage others to do it there will be a better world. Based on Rochester s revival, Johnson argues that religion was used by the middle classto enforce social control over the working class and uses Durkheim s Sociologyto prove it. Indeed, middle class used religion to regulate the working class because they wanted to re establish the authority that was lost when they dissolved family work relationships and religion was a way to get wage earners to be obedient. Before 1820, the workers lived with their boss and the boss was responsible for his workers and family. Since the boss was the patriarch, the workers listened and followed his command. However, when the Erie Canal opened the improvement in transportation extended the market converting farmers to businessmen. Bosses were now busy hiring employees and

Which to me isn t true popularity, if I had to choose I wouldn t use the word popular because it s a word that popular people like to use, but to me to be popular is to be nice to everyone and work to where you are and not have to hurt others to make the way to the top. There is people who are popular by pushing over others and there are people who are popular because they work hard for what they have.... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... The arrival of Governor Cesare Maria De Vecchi in Italian Somaliland in 1923 marked what began the forcing of the north eastern sultanates into the boundaries of La Grande Somalia. Italy initially had access to these areas under successive protection treaties, but no direct ruling of them. Governor De Vecchi began the takeover of the north eastern sultanates and planned to nullify all treaties. To carry out his plan, he gathered Italian troops with support from the old Somali police corps as a colonial force. The Heroic Quest In Vogler s Fifth Business Fifth Business is a stellar example of a novel that follows the heroic quest pattern, and is easily examined through an archetypal lens of a hero s quest. To begin, almost every heroic story begins with some background on the character, to help the audience understand and relate to them. I have noticed this in all the movies I ve seen and books I ve read, if the storyline is a typical one of heroism . Although there is a greater example of the heroic arc later on in the story, Dunstable s participation in World War I also serves as a worthy, if short lived, instance of the heroic quest. Dunstable is faced with trials and enemies in France, having to survive and kill others, similar to how the sixth stage of the heroic quest is described (Vogler). He is literally rewarded with the Victoria Cross and returns with his elixir , both of which are described by Vogler as crucial stages in the Hero s journey. Fifth Business also includes many examples of Jungian archetypes, which are also found in typical heroic stories. Dunstable represents the archetypal self in many ways. The self does not imply only the main character, but also all the discoveries they make towards becoming a more developed person (Jung s). He matures as a character, becomes more in touch with his spirituality, and begins to understand how the world works. In this way, he becomes more like himself through enlightenment. While at home and in France, Dunstable encounters several instances of the shadow , another key Jungian archetype. The shadow is mysterious and evil, often representing a reflection of the Hero s self

I think that graphic images should be more federally regulated because the government shouldn t suggest those things, and it creates more problems in the nation than there already are, but at the same time I think not because of the fact that people should be able to watch whatever they want to without government regulation. People are allowed to believe what they want to believe, so why shouldn t they be able to watch what they choose to watch? But I also think that people don t always make the right decisions and they could be seeing or watching things that they shouldn t be watching, especially young people. As claimed by those that doubt cash will truly disappear, mobile payments will never replace cash. Data from Intuit shows that 55 percent of the nation s 27 million small businesses do not accept credit cards. Despite study after study proving otherwise, many merchants believe it is too expensive to take credit. Given this, the likelihood of those merchants adopting mobile payment technology in the near future seems slim. (Quinn, M. 2014) It is too unlikely to expect cash payments to disappear completely.
