Essay The Lincoln Lawyer
Mickey Haller is a criminal defense lawyer, who knows how to play all the angles to lessen the
charges or to help get his clients off. He runs his business out a 4 Lincoln town cars, (pg. 16).
Earl Briggs is Mickey s driver, who is paying off his debt, for a reduced sentence, (pg.16). Mickey
clients are usually gang members, drug dealers, prostitutes and people who lead corruptive lives.
Mickey does his best for his clients, by making sure they know their rights. He is their advocate
and advisor. He will find loop holes and technicalities, in which to prove his client s innocence. He
also at times retains information, prematurely, to discover the angles of the prosecutors or those
testifying on behalf of the victims. Most of today s... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The guilty need to be represented, it is their right. Mickey is an exceptional defense lawyer and
knows the law incredibly well and knows how to create enough doubt when necessary, because
of this ability, it worked well for those in need of his services, as well as providing financial
means for himself. The more I read this book, the more I realized that Mickey is good at his job
as a defense lawyer and it is up to the prosecutor, to make his/her case and protect their victims.
Mickey refers to There is no client as scary as an innocent man, (pg.402). In my opinion Mickey
feels that he is so good at finding loop holes and technicalities, that he wonders if he can actually
recognize someone who may be innocent. He believes that as a defense lawyer, he has no room for
making any mistakes. He is afraid he will not recognize the innocence versus the evil, (pg. 231).
Therefore representing someone who is innocent such as Jesus Menendez was, would be scarier
than representing someone who is not, because he must recognize the innocent, when his world
consists of manipulation, reorganization and negotiation. Mickey believes that the justice system is
more about power, control and money, through the manipulation and negotiation process that goes
on in court, through the representation of each side. In the beginning Louis Roulet appears to trust
and depend on Mickey s expertise of the law and

Microsoft s Surface Line
On Monday, September 23, Microsoft unveiled a new line of products to cater to the Surface
Line. The keynote presentation was not a way for Microsoft to impress everyone, but to adjust
and improve the mistakes they made with their previous product. Ultimately, it resulted in a
boost of sales. Last year s Surface models, the first ever consumer hardware released by
Microsoft, were flops with software bugs, hardware issues, and terrible battery life. It ruined the
entire experience of what Microsoft had envisioned. This year, Microsoft released the Surface 2
(previously named Surface RT), Surface Pro 2, and a load of accessories. The original Surface
RT was supposed to be a competitor against the tablet giant, iPad. However, it lacked a lot
features that were important for users. Windows RT 8 was supposed to be a low powered
version of Windows, eliminating the need to download third party apps from the internet. With
a very poor list of apps for selection, the Surface RT didn t appeal to many users. On the
hardware standpoint, it was beautifully designed but had no way of adjusting the kickstand.
Basically, it was a joke for using on your lap. With Surface 2, Microsoft does not hope to
compete, but rather aims to refine the Surface RT model. Surface 2 fixes all its hardware
problems allowing users two modes that would work on your desk and lap. Microsoft will be
releasing it with Windows RT 8.1, which is a major improvement. Windows RT 8.1, however, still
does not fix the

Origins Of The World War
Origins of the World War 1
General Theory of the War
The First World War occurred when Britain went to war with Germany in the year 1914. During
that time, the government led by the Prime Minister called Andrew Fisher pledged to completely
support Britain. Globally, the war affected Australia and other nations with a lot of enthusiasm. It
lasted for 5 years from the year 1914 to 1919. It was a battle between the allies and the central
powers. It is believed to have involved a lot of soldiers and military warfare. It is one of the
bloodiest warfare in the history of the world as far as global warfare is concerned. Military troops
were placed in trenches which was a strategy that ensured that there was tight defense (Lecture

Shifting in the balance of power in Europe can also be attributed to triggering the war. Every
country and nation wanted to prove that it was powerful and capable of defending itself. No nation
wanted to be dominated and bullied by another one which also resulted in security dilemma
(Lecture notes: August 4th, 3). Clashes due to the territory in the Balkans can also be blamed for
the eruption of the war. The alliances and treaties that were formed amongst the nations also
resulted in others participating in the war.
Nationalism
The growth and spread of nationalism throughout Europe also contributed to the start of the war;
in addition, unresolved disputes also played a major role (Lecture notes: August 18th, 5). Other
contributing factors included: the formation of alliances, threats from each other and the
perceived collapse of the balance of power throughout Europe. Convoluted and divided
governance also acted as another contributing factor to the breakout of the war. This is because
some governments were beginning to breakdown and divide which led to a weak system of
governance. Imperial as well as colonial rivalry due to wealth, power, and prestige were also
involved in the occurrence of the world war. Economic and military rivalry and clashes also led to
the eruption of this war.

industrial and military skills made the

Essay On The Armada
A war over religion and world domination was rooted deeply in family ties, personal and
political conflicts. The conflict between these countries lasted forever to the eyes of the British
and Spanish people. In May 1555, King Philip met Elizabeth I for the first time when Elizabeth
was brought to Hampton court after her imprisonment in Woodstock. In 1559, after Mary I s
execution there was an absence in heir so Elizabeth was given the accession. Philip thought that
Elizabeth was the real criminal for having her sister executed however he offered her assistance in
the beginning of her rule in which Elizabeth denied every time. This later caused Philip to have
doubts about Elizabeth s religious allegiances. Since King Philip was tied in with... Show more

King Philip thought it was a better idea to seek a quick and decisive victory than risk a long
drawn out conflict with the British Empire, but the preparation of the Armada took over two years
of preparation to the point that the public citizens of Spain and Catholics in England were
becoming doubtful of its launch and readiness to sail by the summer of 1587. King Philip had tried
his first attempt of launching his armada in 1587 but the old strategic naval techniques and boats
had not been resolved. The Duke of Parma in the Netherlands was unhappy about mounting an
attack on England before he had gained full control of the Dutch coast. Philip ignored Parma s
request and decided that a fleet from Spain would land on the Kentish coast and then take Parma s
army across the English Channel. But this plan soon crumbled after Philip became aware that his
army was not ready to counterattack the British naval forces if they encountered them in the English

Smart Lunch In High School
Have you ever thought of the Hoggard cafeteria building as being a jungle you have to fight your
way through every day just to get a bite to eat? SMART lunch should be a time to study, do
homework, or relax. But how can I focus with people stomping down the hall like a herd of
elephants or screeching like chimps fighting for the ripest banana? My only escape is the chorus
room but even the short fifty foot walk down the hall is unnecessarily difficult and sometimes
dangerous. One day in particular almost pushed me over the edge. As usual, the building was
chaos forcing me to weave and dodge through the crowd but as I turned the corner to head
towards the chorus room my path was deliberately blocked. Kids were standing shoulder to
shoulder laughing refusing to let me past. When I asked them to move they laughed and said, what
s the password . I finally managed to push past them but one of them tripped me making me spill
my lunchall over the floor. One of the lunch ladies saw what happened and let me get more food

victims of this disease. They cannot make fair judgement for any decisions, solve any problems and

Why Does Shintoism Need To Compete With Christianity
Shintoism is an ancient religion that predominates modern japan but it has undergone many
changes to compete with many foreign religions such as Christianity. Does Shintoism need to
conform to compete with Christianity better yet does it really need to compete with other religions
anyway? The main sentiment that comes with foreign religions is to explain the creation of the
universe usually depicting a divine being or godwhile Shintoism mainly tries to empower the
mysteries of the universe rather than to explain them. Shintoism also through the most part lacks
a holy book since most of the practices and ideas where spread through story tellers this causes
an issue since foreign countries have to explain Shintoism on their own which make it look
barbaric in comparison. The early history of Shintoism may shed some light on this argument to
understand some of the reason for the Shinto conformation. At around 300 B.C.E the Japanese
people where set up in small clans named Uji and each clan where unique from each other since
they developed independently due to the mountains such as Fuji (Kasulis, 75). Each Uji believed
in a a spirit that protected the clan known as a Ujigami which was the predecessor for the modern
day kami that many foreign individuals see as... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

of Shintoism. The Kojiki on the other was to be a record keeper for ancient Shintoism that could
have been taught to the Japanese people but the work was written in ancient Japanese which was

Modern Transformers And Electric Power Systems
Large power modern transformers are vital components and very expensive in electric power
systems. Forthwith, it is very important to reduce the duration and frequency of unwanted outages
that results in a high demand imposed on power transformer protection relays, this includes the
requirements of dependability related with no mal operations, operating speed related with short
fault clearing time to avoid extensive damage or to preserve power quality and power system
stability and security related with no false tripping.
Discrimination between inrush currents and internal faults has long been known as a challenging
power transformer protection problem. Otherwise, inrush currents contain large second harmonic
component compared to internal faults, conventional transformer protection are designed to
achieve required discrimination by sensing that large second harmonic content [1]. The level of
second harmonic component of the inrush current has been reduced due to improving in
transformer core material and occur power system changes. Additionally, a large second harmonic
can also be found in transformer internal fault currents if a shunt capacitor is connected to a
transformer in a long extra high voltage transmission line. Therefore, the methods based on the
measurement of the second harmonic are not sufficiently effective for differential protective relays
[2].
Newly, several new protective schemes have been proposed to deal with the previous problem in
large power

Research Paper On Vincent Van Gogh
Short Essay: Art and Cultural Exchange
Many artists in Europe and America were influenced by the influx of Japanese design and ukiyo
e prints from the 18th and 19th centuries. Vincent Van Gogh was one such artist. While he was in
Paris, he came into contact with many different styles of art, including Japanese woodblock
print art, which became the source for his artistic creativity behind his work, The Courtesan
(after Eisen) (see figure 1). This work is an oil on canvas painting that Van Gogh produced in
1887. The work is a form of Japonisme because Van Gogh based it on multiple Japanese artists
block prints. Van Gogh used a block print by Keisai Eisen as the basis for the main subject of his
work and he used block prints from multiple other Japanese artists as the basis for the border for
the work. Although, he used these prints as inspiration he didn t leave them exactly as they were, in
his rendition he added brighter colors and stronger contrasts to add more dimension, and he used
additional prints to frame out the final work. Vincent Van Goghwas inspired to paint the painting
after seeing a reproduction of a print that was on the May 1886 cover of Paris IllustrГ© that was
by Keisai Eisen. ( Vincent Van Gogh ).

Redbots
Robots are re programmable machines that are capable of movement in order to perform a
specific task. These robots can improve communities and perform tasks that humans are not able
to. A Redbot is capable of movement to complete a task and can be programmed, thus, it is a
robot. The assignment is to design and create an autonomous Redbot prototype which performs
a service for a certain audience. Therefore, the Redbot will also improve the quality of life and
affect social, political, or economic implications/conclusions. A Redbot, named the Redrone, is
specifically designed to aid and monitor bison. Bison are becoming ecologically extinct, are not
allowed to be a wild animal, and classified as Near Threatened. In the 1800s, bison have been
hunted and the population has decreased, now only 1,000 in the prairies. Although, recently, the
population is recovering due to conservation herds. Without the bison, the grasslands would be
destroyed because bison help spread seeds in the habitat. Additionally, it can be dangerous for a
human being to monitor bison. An average bison is 10 12 ft. and 900 2000 lbs. By using the
Redrone, it can supervise bison to make sure they do not roam far away with a recording camera
attached. Also, the buzzer on the Redrone produces a gunshot sound to lead the bison back... Show

outside, but near the park. Although, state and local governments are upset due to mass migrations
of bison that have been let out of the park. The Redrone controls this problem by leading the bison
back into National Parks, solving political issues. Ultimately, the Redrone assists bison, also

The Effects Of Fracking On Middle East And Other Countries...
In the world today one of the fundamental services that are required for daily living is energy. It
therefore goes without saying that human beings have to engage themselves in whichever
means possible to ensure that there is a sufficient and affordable energy necessary for supporting
life most especially on the side of economic growth and development. Fossils forms a major
source of energy, most especially oil, and this has been literally referred to as the motor of the
world. In an effort to reduce dependence on Middle East and other countries for oil and gas, U.S
has heavily invested in other forms of energy extraction from the core of the earth through a
process that has come to be referred as fracking. Fracking is a short term that is used to refer to
hydraulic fracturing. Hydraulic fracturing is a form of technology that is being used to unlock vast
quantities of natural gasfrom shalebeds. In America, shale gas covers a quarter of all gas
production and it is projected that in coming decades, shale gas is most likely to have a market
share of more than a half. The major advantage of fracking is that it is a cheaper way of mining
natural gas and this therefore means a relatively cheap retail price (In Hester In Harrison, 2015).
Cheap energy has in turn boosted America s petrochemical industry, provided job opportunities,
created other energy intensive businesses, lowered electricity bills, and has significantly reduced
the amount of carbon emission released to the

Evaluating the Limitations of Market Research
Explain Limitations of Market Research
Part of planning market research is outlining the flaws and limitations of the research itself. Any
weaknesses in the research must be identified so they can be improved on. There are a number of
limitations that may affect the results found by market research.
Reliability is vital when trying to find out information about large target populations. To avoid poor
reliability, the sample chosen to participate in the research should be representative of the whole
target population. The correct target sample must be established so that reliability is not a
limitation of the research.
To improve poor reliability due to target sample, a list of the target population could be created and
then have ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
However, they must be careful in selecting the right sample for certain questions. If the Vodafone
market research team would like to know what customers opinions are regarding Vodafone s 3G
Internet service, and they would need to carefully select a representative sample of people who
have 3G Internet on their phones. It can be assumed that Vodafone has the ability to generate a list
of all users who have Internet usage through their network so choosing a sample from the target
population should cause no difficulty. Using a computer, a sample sizecan be derived from random
selection or through systematically selecting proportional numbers of people from different
countries in which Vodafone operates.
In order to increase reliability by using a large sample size could mean sacrificing their ability to
gain quantitative data. Trying to generate the wrong type of results could mean gaining too much or
too little information to gain a real understanding of what people think of the internet services
provided to them. Analysing and interpreting data from such a large sample could prove difficult if
results were qualitative. Whether being analysed by humans or by computers counting commonly
found words, this would be a lengthy process. It could be recommended that Vodafone conducted
their research

Geo Location And Social Media Services
Geo location and social media services are becoming the way of the future online. These services
are redefining the way we find and connect to interests and hobbies. Through the expansion of Geo
location and tagging mobile social media services, user s privacy online will continue to be
exposed without their knowledge and risk being victims to potential criminals.
With the progression and development in GPS and Wi Fi, geo location has become a dominant tool
that can collect information over huge distances. It is purpose is to identify the physical
location and time of a user when they post something on the internet. This helps advertisers and
third party companies to help predict or assume the interest and likes of the user. The more the
user uses the service, the more the service uses the user. Geo location included in devices such as
cell phones, computers, laptops, tablets but many people seem to be unaware. Going online with
these devices can show where someone is, what they are doing and what time they are doing it.
Telecommunication companies and internet providers record the sites and places we visit online
to help profile and analyse the user more efficiently. Cell phones have become so common for
social media use that users are willing to risk their privacy to have access to their social media
sites or in most cases the user is oblivious that their information is being taken from them. This
gives rise to the fear of potential big companies, or even the government,

Argumentative Essay On The Bill Of Rights
The Bill of Rights is one of the most important things in the American government .The Bill of
Rights has 10 Amendments. The fifth one however is one of the important one. The fifth
Amendment deals with police procedures. Along with basic Constitutional limits, or in other words
guidelines that Congress has to follow. The Fifth Amendment is a one of the most important
Amendments because it gives people the rights to speech and privacy, the fifth doesn t let people
be charged with the same felony twice, and it gives citizens the right to a fair trial.
The first reason the fifth amendment is one of the more important amendments is because it gives
people the rights to speech and privacy. No person shall be held to answer for a capital, or other
infamous crime (Bill of Rights). This states that a person does not have to talk if they do not deem it
fit. Someone can plead the fifth and they just stated that they do not want to talk. On the other hand
some might say that this is not a strong argument because in other countries crime is limited
because people have to speak. The government continued to take controversial steps restricting
media freedom, justifying them mostly by the need to counter Russia s anti Ukraine propaganda
(World Report 2017). This states that when banning the freedom of social media it protects the
government and country from attacks, mainly Russia. Although this is true banning the rights of
social media may cause arguments to break out. The fifth

Positive And Sociocultural Environments In The Development...
The development of children has been a focus of the higher education field since the creation of
the field. When taking responsibility for educating the future generations, those leading the field
must seek to have a mastery of all knowledge in regards to development of children to present the
best education possible. One of the aspects of development influencers that has become
increasingly important to recognize and learn about in the last decade are sociocultural
environments. It is widely recognized by professionals that the socio cultural context plays a
dramatic role in the development of children throughout their lives. Both positive and negative
influencing factors contribute to the development of the child. The vast majority of a child s socio
cultural context have potential a negative impact on the child, however if there is support from
caring individuals in the child s life, there is a chance that child can rise above the negative
influences and develop into a well adjusted adult.
Many individuals are not aware that they are aware of how sociocultural environments play a roll
in children s development. A popular narrative that many sports fans learn about is how famous
boxing trainer Cus D Amato turned the life of a young man named Mike Tysonaround and saved
him from a life of poverty and crime. What these fans may not recognize is that they learned about
how sociocultural environments affect children. Tyson was raised by a single African American

Inherit The Wind Theme
Albert Einstein once said, We cannot solve the problems by using the same kind of thinking we
used when we created them. This idea is present throughout Inherit the Wind. Inherit the Wind is a
play that challenges both science and belief. Its plot surrounds an educator teaching Charles
Darwin s theory of evolution in a small town where the Bible is treated as the only book that
explains where humanity came from. The play s playwrights, Robert E. Lee and Jerome Lawrence,
is justifying, through Inherit the Wind, the perils of having a limited perspective and reveals that one

Lee are present in their character s dialogue. As Drummond puts it, The Bible is a book. A good
book. But it s not the only book (Lawrence and Lee 98). Drummond is referring to Darwin s book
when he says that the Bible is not the only book. This is also his way of telling the spectators
and the jury that there is a world out there with boundless perceptions and by becoming intact
with the sole idea of God s creation, one misses that chance to meet that ever so changing world.
Once one misses that chance, one does not progress to one s full potential. At the same time,
Drummond also states, ... It s the loneliest feeling in the world to find yourself standing up when
everybody else is sitting down (Lawrence and Lee 51). Drummond is referring to the absence of
mind and the presence of ignorance in Brady s life due to his limited perspective. He is telling
Brady that while everybody else has opened their minds and started reconsidering their own
beliefs, he remains close minded and that feeling of isolation and exclusion from the rest of the
world is because of his ignorance. Brady s ignorance has not only affected the way he sees the
world, but also the way the world sees him. Correspondingly, Drummond states, All motion is
relative. Perhaps it is you who have moved away by standing still (Lawrence and Lee 67).

Obstacle Avoidance Process Paper
Figure 5: Adaptive vision recognizes similar looking terrain in the distance [5]
Obstacle Avoidance Process
The obstacle avoidance process is what allows the self driving car to identify and maneuver around
objects in the environment. This automated system allows the car to react to a changing
environment. The process consists of obstacle tracking and path planning.
Obstacle Tracking
To avoid static obstacles, such as curbs and parked vehicles in an urban environment, the self
driving car generates local occupancy grid maps that maintain the location of static obstacles similar
to those generated in the the virtual mapping process.
The tracking of moving objects such as cars is equally important and plays a major role in urban
driving. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The radars provide a fine tuning for close range moving object detection, further increasing the
vehicle s reliability. [6].
Path Planning
The self driving car decides where to drive based on path planning. Path planning produces
multiple trajectories to determine the one that maximizes the set of criteria. These criteria include
those that minimize the risk of collision as well as those that favor the center of roads over the
periphery. The car searches for paths based on two dimensions: the amount which the car adjusts its
trajectory laterally and the speed at which this adjustment is carried out.
Figure 7: (a) Potential paths are created to avoid collisions with obstacles. (b) Individual choices
such as lane changes are considered. (c) A complex set of potential paths in a multi intersection
situation. [7]
The car must also select the shortest path to a destination. A dynamic programming based global
shortest path planner similar to Google Maps calculates the expected drive time to a goal location

climbing are considered when calculating expected travel

Taking a Look at Virtual Currencies
Virtual currencies such as bitcoin are portrayed as an innovative design in the distribution of money
throughout the world through the use of peer to peer transactions due to it being fraudulent and
impossible to counterfeit. However, bitcoin holders are anonymous and could act in a similar way
to black markets, their bitwallet is unregulated and untaxed. Using bitcoin as a currency also delves
into the problem where users purchase illegal objects and substances anonymously.
Bitcoin is essentially an electronic cash currency and is perceived as a great success since its
launch in 2009. Most e cash schemes require a centralized bank, which acts as a safeguard for
potential scams or for double spending detection. (Simon Barber et al. 2012 p 401), In contrast,
the bitcoin protocol allows individuals to freely send bitcoins without any third party interference.
The fee for sending bitcoins is very little in comparison to other online payment methods such as
PayPal thus bitcoin is considered to be cost efficient. (Grinberg, R. 2012 p 160). Bitcoin is
considered ethical because it is unique to the characteristics of credit cards. Banks have attempted
to remove the issue of fraud and find mechanisms to stop hackers and phishers from obtaining
personal data. This is because traditional transactions require the transmission confidential data,
making data vulnerable to interception by hackers (Simon Barber et al. 2012 p 402). In regards to

and asked for a puff that he had taken up a pipe , then Tzesar says to Shukhov, Take it, Ivan
Denisovich (30). Tsezar looks up to Shukhov and not Fetyukov because unlike Shukhov,
Fetyukov begs for his resources instead of working for it. Furthermore, Shukhov is recognized
for his hard work ethic and respected unlike Fetyukov is when Fetyukov walked through the
barracks. He was sobbing... his mouth was smeared with blood. So he d been beaten again over

Essay about Humans Must Adapt to Global Warming
No one in the scientific community would argue with the premise that the earth s climate has
changed over the eons of its existence or that it will continue to change. The arguments now revolve
around if mankind s use of the environment has specifically altered our climate.
Scientists have described our world as a clump of matter that spun out of the sun to join its journey
hurling though cold and empty space. Our spaceship earth would match the moon and have no
climate had not molten core continued to pierce its cold crust, spewing forth chemicals that would
eventually form our atmosphere, our seas and life itself ( Mcphee ).
The geological record shows a tumultuous earth, but because the events occur slowly over millions

In an online edition of the Journal Science, one team suggests that glaciers flowing into the
Amundsen Sea are melting twice as fast near the coast than they has ten years age. These glaciers
help drain the West Antarctic Sea, and area that consists of enough ice to raise the sea leveltwenty
or so feet ( Revkin ). As the receding glaciers and polar ice caps part of the natural gerological
process, or is the human s comsumption of fossil fuels to blame? Do we as humans face a
dilemma of rising seas of our own making or is the earth following it own path and we can only
be observers of events that our beyond our control? The earths history is recorded in rocks, tree
ring, ice cores, and mud. We must assume that the climates were warmer or colder based on the
type of fossiled fauna left in the geological record. No actual evidence is left in rock formations
that shows the chemical make up of historic atmospheres. Scientists have recently by passed this
dilemma by coring glaciers, allowing them to look into past atmospheres as old as 750,000 years.
Glaciers are made by compaction of snow on land. As the snow compacts and gets deeper it is
subject to alteration and movement owing to its own weight and pressure (Curry 292). Snow
deposits transform into a glaciers at an average depth of about 10 meters. The deeper the firn snow

Myiasis from Larvae and Pubic Lice
Myiasis (from the Greek myi , fly) is defined as the invasion of living tissue by dipterous larvae.
Several fly species such as Oestrus ovis have been reported to cause myiasis, affecting humans
either directly, when the female fly deposits the larvae on the conjunctiva or eyelids of a human
host rather than a sheep or a goat, or indirectly, through dirty hands. Ocular myiasis presentations
include external ophthalmomyiasis, when the larvae is found in the external ocular tissues, leading
to ocular surface disorders (conjunctivitis, punctuate keratitis) or pseudoorbital cellulitis, and
internal ophthalmomyiasis, a rare condition with a clinical course ranging from asymptomatic to
severe uveitis, retinal detachment and optic atrophy. Several methods of treatment have been
reported depending on the location of the larva. Management of external myiasis includes the
mechanical removal of the larvae in association with topical administration of steroids to reduce
conjunctival inflammation.(1) This may be a challenging maneuver, as the larva tends to firmly
attach to the ocular surface. Some authors recommend the use of topical anesthetic to loosen the
larval attachment.(2) Double eversion of the eyelids is mandatory to ensure that larvae have been
completely removed. Early removal decreases the potential of vision loss and larvae dissemination.
For subretinal larvae, argon laser photocoagulation has been used with successful results.
Vitrectomy and retinotomy is recommended if

Earn Passive Income Essay
5 Ways You Can Earn Passive Income in College
Everyone knows the trope of the broke college student. They eat ramen every day, can t afford
the heat in the winter time, and have zero disposable income. However, if you re a college
student, that doesn t have to be you. No matter how busy you are with classes and schoolwork,
there are ways to earn a completely passive income.
If you want to make money with little effort, this list is for you. Try out these five ways you can
earn passive income in college, and watch your bank account grow instead of shrink this year.
1. Write an Ebook
Writing and selling an ebook is one of the easiest ways you can earn passive income as a college

Find a specific niche to target on your college campus, focus on it, and do it well. A broad travel or
comedy channel has been done to death, and the competition is too strong.
Instead, try creating and marketing your channel to your classmates, faculty, and alumni. A channel
that reviews dining hall food, interviews staff, showcases clubs and events, shares breaking campus
news, or recaps parties are all a good place to start. Of course, the more ridiculous, hilarious, and
entertaining your channel is, the better.
Spend a few hours goofing off with friends and making your videos, spread the word, and as views
go up, your bank account will as well.
3. Invest
Investing requires the largest amount of income on this list, but it also takes the least amount of
work. So, if you have some money in the bank but no time on your hands, this may be the passive
income stream for you.
Investing is a broad term that encapsulates many different options. You can buy a rental property
(ok, that s probably not possible for most college students) but you can also think a little smaller.
Sites like Flippa sell websites and blogs that are already up and running and generating an income.
Spend a day reviewing and purchasing one, and start earning a passive income immediately.
You can also invest in the stock market. Read these inspiring must know investor quotes, and then
hit the ground running.
The great thing about this option is that you ll learn a valuable

The Recovery Of My Knee-Personal Narrative
As I finally reached the bottom of my hill, I felt a shooting pain go up my leg.
Something had happened.
I worsened my injury.
I couldn t take it. I was so mad at myself for deciding to run.
I knew that this would happen, but I still laced up my spikes and ran this race.
I almost quit right then and there, but I knew I had to finish. I had to turn around and climb right
back up that disgusting hill, so I did.
I looked up the steep hill, and thought to myself, I have less than half of a mile left. I can do this.
With each step, I told myself to just go one more. Eventually, I had gotten up that hill, even with the
tremendous pain it caused.
I was in agony.
I wanted to just fall down and be done right then and there.

The Praetorian Guard
Throughout the Julio Claudian Dynasty ,the Praetorian Guard remained a metaphorical Big
Brother , always watching and influencing not only the decisions of the Emperors but that of their
successors as well. When the Praetorian Guard decided to turn against the Emperors they swore to
protect, they heavily influenced the superseding succession of the Emperors during the Year of
Four Emperors. It is quite clear that the Praetorian Guard had an astounding influence over the
politics and military of the Roman Empire, as seen through the events of AD 69. In AD 69, the
Year of the Four Emperors, the Praetorian Guard took almost full control of the Roman Emperors.

Otho himself was backed by speculatores, the scouts and reconnaissance element of the Roman
army. The speculatores, in turn, were a branch hired by the Praetorian Guard and thus under their

heir Piso assassinated. Yet another Imperator was gathering his forces. Aulus Vitellius, angered
by Galba s decision to reward the Gallic legions, started gathering his Germanic legions. Otho
faced Vitellius head on, only to find himself and his legions overpowered by the German soldiers.
As was common practice for defeated generals, Otho committed suicide. Rome spiralled into yet
another power vacuum. Vitellius, whose own legions proclaimed him Emperor back in 68 AD,
was not originally backed by the Praetorian Guard. However, Vitellius legions were not the only

Vespasian too was being hailed Emperor. Vitellius continued the ongoing tradition of eliminating his
political opponents, up until he lost a battle in the streets of Rome. His troops refused to let him
resign, and a few months later assassinated him. It was Vespasian that seized the opportunity. With

Pathogenesis Essay
Pathogenesis It is known that cancer, in general, is a group of diseases that is characterized by the
out of control growth and spread of a group of abnormal cells, which can often times result in
death. More specifically, breast cancer is a hormonally dependent disease, which causes malignancy
in the epithelial cells of the ducts and/or lobules of the breast (Lippman, 2012). Therefore, women
without functioning ovaries, who never receive estrogenreplacement therapy, do not develop breast
cancer(Lippman, 2012). Genomic profiling has furthered research and understanding of this
complex disease process by identifying further tumor subtypes and molecular alterations of the
disease. (Stopeck, 2009). Based upon the specific gene... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
They tend to be less responsive to chemotherapy (Lippman, 2012).
The second identified subtype is Luminal B. Luminal B tumor cells are epithelial in origin, have a
different gene expression pattern than that of Luminal A, and have a worse prognosis than Luminal
A (Lippman, 2012). The third subtype is known as normal breast like subtype, which express genes
similar to that of normal breast epithelium and appears somewhat nonmalignant, with a prognosis
similar to that of Luminal B (Lippman, 2012).
The fourth subtype is known as HER2 amplified, which means that these have an increase in the
HER2 gene found on chromosome 17q and often have overexpression of genes that are adjacent to
the HER2 (Lippman, 2012). Before recent research and studies, the prognosis of a patient with such
subtype was quite poor however, with the recent advances in therapy designed to directly target
such, the clinical outcome for these patients is improving dramatically (Lippman, 2012).
Lastly is the basal type. These are typically called the triple negative type in that they are estrogen
receptor, progesterone receptor, and HER2 negative tumors. They are characterized by basal
/myoepithelial cells and tend to be high grade, and express cytokeratins 5/6 and 17 as well as
vimentin, p63, CD10, and alpha smooth muscle actin, and epidermal growth factor receptor
(EGFR) (Lippman, 2012). Patients with BRCA mutations also fall within this molecular subtype.

Adapted for the 21st Century. New York: Threshold Editions, 2011. Print.
398 pages Summary
Instead of the Beck and Charles telling a story of a significant person to make a point the Authors
discussed the original argument for the United States Constitution. The argument was originally
written by the federalists in the late 18th century. These historical documents are commonly
referred to as the federalist papers. Beck and Charles go over seven different topics and arguments
discussed in the federalist papers.
Part One: Novus ordo seclorum: A New Order For the Ages is all about the new way of thinking
once the colonies declared independence from England. It discussed how new concepts were
being introduced and why a new order was needed for that particular time. In fact Alexander
Hamilton sounded a lot like Abraham Lincoln. Abraham Lincoln s main objective as president
was also to preserve the Union. Hamilton wrote, Nothing remains as obvious as the fact that either
the new Constitution will be adopted or the Union will be torn apart. It is therefore necessary to
examine the advantages of the Union, as well as the evils and dangers that would result from its
disbanding. (Beck and Charles 4) Alexander Hamilton (who wrote many of the federalist

CSC6360: Mobile App Development
29 November 2016
Software Engineering for Mobile Application Development: Challenges and Research In the
recent years we have seen rapid growth of applications of mobile devices popularly known as
APPS . Recent surveys show that there are enormous numbers of mobile application developers.
Although there is a growing trend of these mobile applications, very few make it to the top charts of
the devices thereby pushing the application developers to provide with high quality, and useful
applications. Software engineering comes in to picture here, thereby leading the development of the
application through different life cycle phases for good quality output. This paper presents the
different challenges faced by the developers such as (a) building good user interfaces(b) support
for multiplatform (c) dealing with uncertainities. (d) change according to the environment. For each
of the above stated challenges we provide the current trends and advances done, along with the
challenges that are faced in developing the application and also the future risks and availabilities
for developing the project.

Mobile application development started long time ago, around ten years back. But although the
development of mobile applications was done long ago, their popularity has increased since the

The twentieth century presented Christianity with dizzying political and cultural challenges. A
lively and articulate Christianity in former mission fields and dissatisfaction among American
evangelicals produced new movements. The turmoil of the twentieth century proved a trying time
for Christianity. Due to global spread, there were Christians on all sides of nearly every major
conflict of the century. There were two world wars; the use of nuclear bombs in Japan, there was
also wars in Korea and Vietnam. There were anti colonial conflicts in Latin America, North Africa,
Sub Saharan Africa, and the Middle East Marxist governments came to power and enforced secular
culture throughout the historic areas of the Eastern Churches and in China. Christians were
challenged to redefine their morals and their ideologies in response to these upheavals. There were
newer movements that also emerged in the twentieth century such as ecumenism, liberation
theology, Pentecostalism, and fundamentalism (McGrath 2007). The spirit of ecumenism is nearly
as old as Christianity itself. The First Ecumenical Council at Nicaea in 325 was called because
bishops came from all parts if the Christian world. In 1910, several missionary societies convened a
meeting in Scotland designed to develop a common missionary strategy that could contribute to the
healing of divisions and coordinate a mutual commitment to action and service to the world (Shelly

The Silent Film Within Our Gates
In 1920, Oscar Micheaux directed the silent film Within Our Gates which conducts an in depth
examination of race relations and discrimination within the United States. One of the outcomes of
the film is a blatant failure of justice resulting in the lynching of an African American couple, The
Landrys. Seemingly, time has not altered the inherent absence of justice concerning the treatment
of Black men and women in situations where criminal activity is suspected, legitimately or
otherwise. Evidence is found with the killings of Eric Garner, Michael Brown, Tamir Rice, and
many other Black victims who died at the hands of police who are tasked with upholding justice
and fail to do so. However, what was the popular sentiment toward failure within the legal system
between 1920 and 2015? While not representative of this entire time span, in 1962, Robert
Mulligan s film To Kill a Mockingbird focuses on racerelations and an African Americanmale
wrongly accused of rape who is ultimately killed in a suspicious police shooting. Within Our
Gates and To Kill a Mockingbird each offer a presentation of a gross miscarriage of justice that is
obvious to the omniscient viewer, but the reaction the films garner from the audience varies from
outrage to resignation due to the implementation (or lack thereof) of a visual stimuli, telling of the
time period in which the films were produced.

Us Foreign Policy 1865-1914, Expansionist or Isolationist...
Was the foreign policy of the United States primarily isolationist or expansionist through 1865
1914?
At the turn of the century, and after gaining our independence, the United States land mass more
than doubled through the use of purchasing, annexing, and war. However, the foreign policy of our
government took a predominately isolationist stand. This was a national policy of abstaining from
political or economic relations with other countries. General Washington shaped these values by
upholding and encouraging the use of these principles by warning to avoid alliances in his farewell
speech. The reasoning behind these actions was that the Republic was a new nation. We did not

Although the United States didn t have the authority or firepower to back this up, it resulted in
almost four decades of compulsory US involvement in any foreign affair. After the Civil War,
Isolationistic practices grew stronger as the government had to find a way to re unite the torn
nation. President Grover Cleveland promised to avoid committing the nation to form any
alliances with other countries while also opposed to the acquisition of new land. The climate of
post Civil War US prevented us from deep involvement in foreign affairs. Our navy was also
weakened by the war. Our natural resources were scarce and our diplomatic relations with other
countries had been neglected. With the attention of our government focused solely on our nation,
we proceeded to develop our interior. One of the biggest reasons for growth in US land mass was
the public idea of Manifest Destiny. Americans believed that it was the destiny of the United States
to populate a huge, vast continent.
In the 1890 s, the Isolationist movement took a back seat and American foreign policy followed
heavy Expansionism. After the total expansion into the west, Americans perceived notion of
Manifest Destiny changed. They believed that since they were superior to other nations, their policy
needed to change from just territorial acquisition within its borders, to outside. The United States

Folly, Temptation And Death In Homer s The Odyssey
The Odyssey by Homer is a great text that manipulates the skill of storytelling bringing out the
meaning of being human, the spiritual and physical homecoming. It is an archetypal epic
expedition essential for understanding ourselves and other modern texts following the same pattern.
The text brings out the ancient Greek beliefs and customs that are essential in studying Western
Literature through the evaluation of different characters, and the themes manifested are essential in
establishing a good foundation for any literature student. The themes therein such as leadership
skills, folly, retaliation, mythology, death, ogres, temptation seduction, deceit, and warfare make the
text an essential student companion in the quest of comprehending literature. First, the themes of
Folly, Temptation and Death are essential to freshmen in understanding everyday life. Folly
contributes to the reckless behavior evident in men; temptation makes one lose focus on their
objective, in this case, Odysseuss homecoming (Byrant, 1872, p.237, line 79). The folly in
Odysseus s crew make them ignore the warning from the captain consequently losing their
shipmates, and the suitors despise the eagles warning on the return of Odysseus hence meeting their

for a long time, the love for her motivates him to work hard to his homecoming, overcoming

meth have caused this unusual behavior? There really is no right answer, and many of these
questions and theories are debatable. However, there is no denying that this specific scene from
Breaking Bad resembles a person in a zombie like state, which happens to be the key theme of The
Walking Dead.
Another relationship that is seen portrays the idea that Merle Dixon s drug dealers may have
been Jesse Pinkman and Walter White, who are two major drug dealers in Breaking Bad. In the
first season of The Walking Dead, Merle s brother Daryl finds a bag of prescriptions and drugs that
belong to Merle. At the bottom of the bag, there appears to be blue crystal meth. Recollecting from
Breaking Bad, Walter White is the creator of the famous Sky Blue methamphetaminethat is unique
with its baby blue color. Additionally, later on in season 4 of The Walking Dead, Daryl has a
conversation with Beth about a past experience he had with his brother. He s telling her about an
encounter Merle had with his drug dealer. Merle got in an argument with this guy and things
started to get out of hand. Daryl describes the dealer as being a janky little white guy, and a
tweaker. He then tells her that this guy put a gun to his

The On Balancing The Environment
Balancing the Environment Does the implementation of government policies in order to decrease
negative environmental effects violate individual rights? Immanuel Kant one of the most
recognized names in deontological theory proposed a theory that is based on determining if you
are using someone or something as a means or an end. In essence stating that in order for a
decision to be made one must take into account whether a person is being manipulated against
their consent or they are being foster towards an equally beneficial end (O Neill, 1993). One could
say it is everyone s duty to push the government to introduce policies to decrease negative
environmental impacts in order to sustain a healthy and inhabitable environment for the future. Yet
this raises the question, how does one determine this is their duty and is this being forced against
one s will with no substantial benefit? While others may argue that to protect the planet is the duty
of all people. The term deontology comes from the Greek word deon, meaning duty. The theory of
deontology states we are morally obligated to act in accordance with a certain set of principles and
rules regardless of outcome (Shakil, n.a). Immanuel Kantexpanded on this theory and introduced
what has come to be known as Kantian Deontology. Kantian Deontology proposes, no one rational
or autonomous creature should be treated as mere means for the enjoyment or even the happiness
of another. (O Neil, 1993). Therefore, no person

Essay On Australian Federal Budget
Federal Budget (describe, outline aim and purpose)
The Australian federal Budget is the Government s annual financial report that sets out Australia s
proposed fiscal income and spending for the upcoming year through careful planning and prudent
saving. The budget provides structure, financial record and discloses Australia s priorities by
providing allocated funding to specific sectors and departments of state. The budget aims to
establish and stimulate a stable economy, invest in Australia s future and provide a fairer tax and
welfare system.
Budgetary measures and their impacts

Receiving an extra income will increase consumer spending and benefit firms, therefore promoting
economic consumption. Government expenditure will also steadily decrease overtime.
Budgetary measure 2: Foreign Aid
The 2015 budget has revealed Foreign aid contributions will be reduced by a further $3.7 billion
over the next three years in an attempt to tighten Australia s border security.
Using the latest technology, Australian border forces and investing $35 billion, the government
aims to reduce the threat of terrorism at our borders in an effort to keep our country secure.
Foreign aid aims to reduce poverty and create sustainable economic growth and development in the
Indo Pacific regions whilst promoting Australia s national interests. Australian aid helps to provide
access to safe drinking water for 2.9 million more people and enable 1.4 million more children to
enrol in school.
These cuts will result in a decrease of government expenditure and an increase in household tax.
Firms will suffer, with little support from the government sector, reducing the circular flow of
income. Household savings will increase, as they will be paying more in tax. Firms will then be
impacted because consumers will be spending

Argumentative Essay On Indiana House Elections
With the 2016 general election coming up, the citizens of Indiana will be electing their members
of Congress to represent the state and its districts. The Indiana Senate race that has received a lot
of attention is the race between Todd Young and Evan Bayh. An Indiana House race that has been
receiving a lot of attention is the District 9 race between Shelli Yoder and Trey Hollingsworth.
When analyzing these races, a wide variety of factors, such as demographics, money, and scandals
should to be taken into consideration. In terms of the Senate race in Indiana, there have been
fourteen shifts in party power in that particular seat over time (Ballotpedia). But in general, Indiana
has been a Republican leaning state throughout much of its history. In 2004, Evan Bayh(D) was
elected to the Indiana Senate. In 2010, Dan Coats (R) was elected to the seat. In the very next
election, Joe Donnelly (D) took over the seat. Dan Coats retook the seat in 2014 and is now
stepping down to make room for either Evan Bayh (D) or Todd Young (R) (Indiana Secretary of
State).
Evan Bayh originally had a six to seven point lead over Todd Young in the polls, but policy issues
played a part in negating that lead (Monmouth). For example, on the issue of ... Show more content

As mentioned previously, the state of Indiana is a solid Republican state. For the Senate race,
Indiana being mostly red already gave Todd Young and Trey Hollingsworth somewhat of a head
start. Evan Bayh s name recognition from his previous term as governor and senator of Indiana is
not strong enough to overcome the accusations that he was using his time in office to explore other
career options. Additionally, the demographics are not in favor of the Democratic candidate in the
Senate race and certainly not in the 9th District race. There is definitely not enough of a minority
factor to drive up the votes for the Democratic

William Shakespeare s Macbeth
Shakespeare s tragedy, Macbeth, follows a man s bloody rise to power, which hinges on murder of
the Scottish king named Duncan. In my opinion, the play s most memorable character is the wife
of this man, Lady Macbeth. Similar to her spouse, Lady Macbeth s lust for power plunges her into
madness. So much so that Lady Macbethturns to witchcraft transforms herself into an desexualized
evil spirit to quench her thirst to become a man. The play is filled with moments when characters
reveal vital information to the development of the story, that is unspoken to other members but is
conveyed to the audience via monologue,. This is what is known as a soliloquy, The oxford

Macbeth has chosen to ignore the advice of Banquo, who stresses that the witches are not to be
trusted. Despite this Macbeth trusts the witches with absolute certainty. Macbeth goes on to say,
dearest partner of greatness, mightst not lose the dues of rejoicing . He tells his wife to celebrate
because will become the new queen. Unfortunately, Lady Macbeth does not rejoice, this is
because Lady Macbeth does not think Macbeth is limited in his abilities. Lady Macbeth begins to
speak to him even though Macbeth is not really there, Yet do I fear thy nature; / It is too full o the
milk of human kindness / To catch the nearest way . This proves that Lady Macbeth knows her
husband extremely well, perhaps this is because she shares some of Macbeths instincts. They both
agree that, murdering Duncan is the nearest way. In an earlier scene, Macbeth is quoted saying, If
chance will have me king, why, chance may crown me, / Without my stir , but later he understands
that he must become an killer in order to be king of Scotland. This is also Lady Macbeth s
assumption. Lady Macbeth also shares the witches views on good and bad. She says to her absent
husband, Thou wouldst be great; / Art not without ambition, but without / The illness should attend
it . Like the witches,

ordinary mail service provides communication between people. Nowadays services such as internet

geo location, common calls, etc. are activities that have been evolved more and more over time
through modern mobile phones, which can provide all these services with the advantage of
mobility, becoming extremelly attractive to the public. A recent article published by the website
Smartinsights (1) concludes that all activities related with the use of mobile phones by the public as
communication method have experienced rapid growth, surpassing even the use of the traditional
methods like PCВґs. In relation to the mobile phones market and how the number of devices sold
is increasing every year, an article published last year by the website Statista (2), suggest that
total of mobile devices sold worldwide from 2007 to 2014 was 1,244.89 million units, and sales
growth is expected in 2015. It also describes the prediction of global mobile phone shipments from
2010 to 2019, making it clear that the increase in sales and user will continue the next years (3).

Earlier, amazon don t want to invest in the warehouses. But to do business, they had to invest in

Albert Fish And What Fueled This Gruesome Behavior
The Disturbed Life of Albert Fish and What Fueled This Gruesome Behavior Albert Fish was
born and raised in Washington, D.C. on May 19th, 1870, to his parents Randall, and Ellen. Fish
s father was American, and his mother was Irish American. His father was forty three years
older than his mother, and was seventy five at the time of fishes birth. Albert was the youngest
child of three siblings: Annie, Walter, and Edwin. He wanted to be named after a dead sibling to
escape from the given nickname Ham Eggs which was given to him at St. John Orphanage
where, he spent most of his childhood. The family had a history of mental illness. His mother
suffered from visual hallucinations, his brother was in a mental hospital, his sister was diagnosed
with mental illness, and uncle suffered from mania. Fish s father was a boat captain and a
fertilizer manufacturer. He soon died of a heart attack in 1875 at the Sixth Street Station of the
Pennsylvania Railroad in Washington, D.C. ( Blanco, 2017) Once Ellen, mother found out she put
her son in Saint John s Orphanage in Washington, which he was constantly mistreated and abused.
He was so used to the frequent beatings he found pleasure in physical pain. While living at the
orphanage, Fish remarked, I was there til I was nearly nine, and that s where I got started wrong
(Montaldo, 2017). The brutality Fish experienced within St. John s Orphanage, and his lack of a

Plakobranchus Ocellatus
The Plakobranchus ocellatus feeds on great variety of green algae (Christa et al. 2012) they are
known to sequester ingested plastids (kleptoplasts) within specialized cells of the digestive gland,
and are said to have a long term retention (LtR) form that incorporates chloroplasts for several
months and thus allowing them to undergo periods of starvation while continuing photosynthetic
activity. Not much is known about the food sources of this sacoglossan, but it is suggested that P.
ocellatus is a species complex and feeds on a broad variety of Ulvophyceae (Christa, Wescott L, et

The mean/standard deviation of the results obtained can be viewed in Table 1. The greatest
difference was seen within the standard deviation of the weight of the plant seedlings in a high
CO2 concentration (0.4326 g). This can be seen in the mean value (average) of the plant seedlings
in the high CO2 concentration, which was 1.153 g.
Further evidence of this can be observed in Figure 2, exhibiting that the standard deviation
increased as well as the mean dry weight along with the CO2. The t test results in table 2 show
that the probability results for the initial and Low weight (0.6501) is above 0.05, therefore
establishing the indication that the weight between the two sets of data have significantly less
differences, thus being more likely due to chance. However, the t test results for the Low and
Normal weight (4.895 x 10 5), Normal and High seedling weight (8.964 x 10 8) and Low and
High seedling weight (2.291 x 10 9) are below 0.05, illustrating that their figures are not due to
chance alone. It is clear that the difference between the results of the Initial Seedling weight and the
High CO2 seedling weight should be significant, further confirming that as the concentration of
CO2 intensifies so does the weight of

The therapist asks George, Imagine one day when you wakes up and a miracle has happen, all
the problems you had was solved overnight, how would you know it was solved, and what how
would things be different for you? When George talks about what he hopes to be different in his
life, the therapist is hearing the direction George wants his life to go and the focus has been shift
from talking about his problems to talking about the solutions.
When exploring his marital issues, the therapist may also ask George, Suppose when you wake
up tomorrow and your marriage was back to the way it was when you both were at your happiest,
how would things be different for both of you? The therapist is inviting George to imagine how his
marriage would be like without the existing conflict and what more can the couple achieve.
De Jong and Berg (2008) identify a number of reasons the miracle question is a useful technique.
Asking George to think about the changes take will take place when a miracle happen, opens up a
range of future possibility for him and helps him to think about what kinds of changes he wanted.
Using Scaling Questions
In SFBT, the therapist checks with the George regularly to see how he is doing in reaching his
solutions or goals by asking scaling questions. This technique can be creatively applied to tap on
the client s perception about a wide range of

Living Under Totalitarianism Research Paper
Living Under Totalitarianism
A totalitarianism is a dictatorship that exercises unprecedented control over the masses and seeks to
mobilize them for action. Living under totalitarian means that the government controls people while
they are stripped of their freedom. Life in a society without freedom is painful and unbearable. To
top it off, a government controlled society without freedom is even worse. With the government
controlling all of the systems in a society basically means that the citizens are constantly being

In a society without freedom they are not allowed to do what most people can do in a free
society. With government controlling the citizens, it s like as if are a group of sheep locked in a
cage being watched constantly, not being able to do what they want. As previously mentioned in
document 6 32 Things Cubans Can t Do by Carlos Eire, Cuban citizens needed permission from the
government just to do the simplest thing from accessing the internet to selling products. In
document 5 Hitler and Nazi Germany by Hannah Vogt, people in the Third Reich were being
tortured and executed because of impurity of race. This illustrates how the Nazis are using their
power to annihilate people from the Third Reich while they have no power of right or freedom
whatsoever. They also established concentration camp originally as a way to convince people
that they were a necessary part of restoring public order and security and when they are voted
into power, they used it as a way to keep people in fear of opposing them. Basically the original
purpose of the concentration camp was false and the main goal was to control people and abolish
them while taking away their freedom without them even knowing

  • 2. Essay The Lincoln Lawyer Mickey Haller is a criminal defense lawyer, who knows how to play all the angles to lessen the charges or to help get his clients off. He runs his business out a 4 Lincoln town cars, (pg. 16). Earl Briggs is Mickey s driver, who is paying off his debt, for a reduced sentence, (pg.16). Mickey clients are usually gang members, drug dealers, prostitutes and people who lead corruptive lives. Mickey does his best for his clients, by making sure they know their rights. He is their advocate and advisor. He will find loop holes and technicalities, in which to prove his client s innocence. He also at times retains information, prematurely, to discover the angles of the prosecutors or those testifying on behalf of the victims. Most of today s... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... The guilty need to be represented, it is their right. Mickey is an exceptional defense lawyer and knows the law incredibly well and knows how to create enough doubt when necessary, because of this ability, it worked well for those in need of his services, as well as providing financial means for himself. The more I read this book, the more I realized that Mickey is good at his job as a defense lawyer and it is up to the prosecutor, to make his/her case and protect their victims. Mickey refers to There is no client as scary as an innocent man, (pg.402). In my opinion Mickey feels that he is so good at finding loop holes and technicalities, that he wonders if he can actually recognize someone who may be innocent. He believes that as a defense lawyer, he has no room for making any mistakes. He is afraid he will not recognize the innocence versus the evil, (pg. 231). Therefore representing someone who is innocent such as Jesus Menendez was, would be scarier than representing someone who is not, because he must recognize the innocent, when his world consists of manipulation, reorganization and negotiation. Mickey believes that the justice system is more about power, control and money, through the manipulation and negotiation process that goes on in court, through the representation of each side. In the beginning Louis Roulet appears to trust and depend on Mickey s expertise of the law and ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 3. Microsoft s Surface Line On Monday, September 23, Microsoft unveiled a new line of products to cater to the Surface Line. The keynote presentation was not a way for Microsoft to impress everyone, but to adjust and improve the mistakes they made with their previous product. Ultimately, it resulted in a boost of sales. Last year s Surface models, the first ever consumer hardware released by Microsoft, were flops with software bugs, hardware issues, and terrible battery life. It ruined the entire experience of what Microsoft had envisioned. This year, Microsoft released the Surface 2 (previously named Surface RT), Surface Pro 2, and a load of accessories. The original Surface RT was supposed to be a competitor against the tablet giant, iPad. However, it lacked a lot features that were important for users. Windows RT 8 was supposed to be a low powered version of Windows, eliminating the need to download third party apps from the internet. With a very poor list of apps for selection, the Surface RT didn t appeal to many users. On the hardware standpoint, it was beautifully designed but had no way of adjusting the kickstand. Basically, it was a joke for using on your lap. With Surface 2, Microsoft does not hope to compete, but rather aims to refine the Surface RT model. Surface 2 fixes all its hardware problems allowing users two modes that would work on your desk and lap. Microsoft will be releasing it with Windows RT 8.1, which is a major improvement. Windows RT 8.1, however, still does not fix the ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 4. Origins Of The World War Origins of the World War 1 General Theory of the War The First World War occurred when Britain went to war with Germany in the year 1914. During that time, the government led by the Prime Minister called Andrew Fisher pledged to completely support Britain. Globally, the war affected Australia and other nations with a lot of enthusiasm. It lasted for 5 years from the year 1914 to 1919. It was a battle between the allies and the central powers. It is believed to have involved a lot of soldiers and military warfare. It is one of the bloodiest warfare in the history of the world as far as global warfare is concerned. Military troops were placed in trenches which was a strategy that ensured that there was tight defense (Lecture notes: August ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Shifting in the balance of power in Europe can also be attributed to triggering the war. Every country and nation wanted to prove that it was powerful and capable of defending itself. No nation wanted to be dominated and bullied by another one which also resulted in security dilemma (Lecture notes: August 4th, 3). Clashes due to the territory in the Balkans can also be blamed for the eruption of the war. The alliances and treaties that were formed amongst the nations also resulted in others participating in the war. Nationalism The growth and spread of nationalism throughout Europe also contributed to the start of the war; in addition, unresolved disputes also played a major role (Lecture notes: August 18th, 5). Other contributing factors included: the formation of alliances, threats from each other and the perceived collapse of the balance of power throughout Europe. Convoluted and divided governance also acted as another contributing factor to the breakout of the war. This is because some governments were beginning to breakdown and divide which led to a weak system of governance. Imperial as well as colonial rivalry due to wealth, power, and prestige were also involved in the occurrence of the world war. Economic and military rivalry and clashes also led to the eruption of this war. The conflict between these countries lasted forever to the eyes of the British and Spanish people. In May 1555, King Philip met Elizabeth I for the first time when Elizabeth was brought to Hampton court after her imprisonment in Woodstock. In 1559, after Mary I s execution there was an absence in heir so Elizabeth was given the accession. Philip thought that Elizabeth was the real criminal for having her sister executed however he offered her assistance in the beginning of her rule in which Elizabeth denied every time. This later caused Philip to have doubts about Elizabeth s religious allegiances. King Philip thought it was a better idea to seek a quick and decisive victory than risk a long drawn out conflict with the British Empire, but the preparation of the Armada took over two years of preparation to the point that the public citizens of Spain and Catholics in England were becoming doubtful of its launch and readiness to sail by the summer of 1587. King Philip had tried his first attempt of launching his armada in 1587 but the old strategic naval techniques and boats had not been resolved. The Duke of Parma in the Netherlands was unhappy about mounting an attack on England before he had gained full control of the Dutch coast. Philip ignored Parma s request and decided that a fleet from Spain would land on the Kentish coast and then take Parma s army across the English Channel. But this plan soon crumbled after Philip became aware that his army was not ready to counterattack the British naval forces if they encountered them in the English ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

SMART lunch should be a time to study, do homework, or relax. But how can I focus with people stomping down the hall like a herd of elephants or screeching like chimps fighting for the ripest banana? My only escape is the chorus room but even the short fifty foot walk down the hall is unnecessarily difficult and sometimes dangerous. One day in particular almost pushed me over the edge. As usual, the building was chaos forcing me to weave and dodge through the crowd but as I turned the corner to head towards the chorus room my path was deliberately blocked. Kids were standing shoulder to shoulder laughing refusing to let me past. When I asked them to move they laughed and said, what s the password . • 8. Why Does Shintoism Need To Compete With Christianity Shintoism is an ancient religion that predominates modern japan but it has undergone many changes to compete with many foreign religions such as Christianity. Does Shintoism need to conform to compete with Christianity better yet does it really need to compete with other religions anyway? The main sentiment that comes with foreign religions is to explain the creation of the universe usually depicting a divine being or godwhile Shintoism mainly tries to empower the mysteries of the universe rather than to explain them. Shintoism also through the most part lacks a holy book since most of the practices and ideas where spread through story tellers this causes an issue since foreign countries have to explain Shintoism on their own which make it look barbaric in comparison. The early history of Shintoism may shed some light on this argument to understand some of the reason for the Shinto conformation. At around 300 B.C.E the Japanese people where set up in small clans named Uji and each clan where unique from each other since they developed independently due to the mountains such as Fuji (Kasulis, 75). • 9. Modern Transformers And Electric Power Systems Large power modern transformers are vital components and very expensive in electric power systems. Forthwith, it is very important to reduce the duration and frequency of unwanted outages that results in a high demand imposed on power transformer protection relays, this includes the requirements of dependability related with no mal operations, operating speed related with short fault clearing time to avoid extensive damage or to preserve power quality and power system stability and security related with no false tripping. Discrimination between inrush currents and internal faults has long been known as a challenging power transformer protection problem. Otherwise, inrush currents contain large second harmonic component compared to internal faults, conventional transformer protection are designed to achieve required discrimination by sensing that large second harmonic content [1]. The level of second harmonic component of the inrush current has been reduced due to improving in transformer core material and occur power system changes. Additionally, a large second harmonic can also be found in transformer internal fault currents if a shunt capacitor is connected to a transformer in a long extra high voltage transmission line. Therefore, the methods based on the measurement of the second harmonic are not sufficiently effective for differential protective relays [2]. Newly, several new protective schemes have been proposed to deal with the previous problem in large power ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 10. Research Paper On Vincent Van Gogh Short Essay: Art and Cultural Exchange Many artists in Europe and America were influenced by the influx of Japanese design and ukiyo e prints from the 18th and 19th centuries. Vincent Van Gogh was one such artist. While he was in Paris, he came into contact with many different styles of art, including Japanese woodblock print art, which became the source for his artistic creativity behind his work, The Courtesan (after Eisen) (see figure 1). This work is an oil on canvas painting that Van Gogh produced in 1887. The work is a form of Japonisme because Van Gogh based it on multiple Japanese artists block prints. Van Gogh used a block print by Keisai Eisen as the basis for the main subject of his work and he used block prints from multiple other Japanese artists as the basis for the border for the work. Although, he used these prints as inspiration he didn t leave them exactly as they were, in his rendition he added brighter colors and stronger contrasts to add more dimension, and he used additional prints to frame out the final work. Vincent Van Goghwas inspired to paint the painting after seeing a reproduction of a print that was on the May 1886 cover of Paris IllustrГ© that was by Keisai Eisen. ( Vincent Van Gogh ). Fig. 1. These robots can improve communities and perform tasks that humans are not able to. A Redbot is capable of movement to complete a task and can be programmed, thus, it is a robot. The assignment is to design and create an autonomous Redbot prototype which performs a service for a certain audience. Therefore, the Redbot will also improve the quality of life and affect social, political, or economic implications/conclusions. A Redbot, named the Redrone, is specifically designed to aid and monitor bison. Bison are becoming ecologically extinct, are not allowed to be a wild animal, and classified as Near Threatened. In the 1800s, bison have been hunted and the population has decreased, now only 1,000 in the prairies. Although, recently, the population is recovering due to conservation herds. Without the bison, the grasslands would be destroyed because bison help spread seeds in the habitat. Additionally, it can be dangerous for a human being to monitor bison. An average bison is 10 12 ft. and 900 2000 lbs. By using the Redrone, it can supervise bison to make sure they do not roam far away with a recording camera attached. • 13. The Effects Of Fracking On Middle East And Other Countries... In the world today one of the fundamental services that are required for daily living is energy. It therefore goes without saying that human beings have to engage themselves in whichever means possible to ensure that there is a sufficient and affordable energy necessary for supporting life most especially on the side of economic growth and development. Fossils forms a major source of energy, most especially oil, and this has been literally referred to as the motor of the world. In an effort to reduce dependence on Middle East and other countries for oil and gas, U.S has heavily invested in other forms of energy extraction from the core of the earth through a process that has come to be referred as fracking. Fracking is a short term that is used to refer to hydraulic fracturing. Hydraulic fracturing is a form of technology that is being used to unlock vast quantities of natural gasfrom shalebeds. In America, shale gas covers a quarter of all gas production and it is projected that in coming decades, shale gas is most likely to have a market share of more than a half. The major advantage of fracking is that it is a cheaper way of mining natural gas and this therefore means a relatively cheap retail price (In Hester In Harrison, 2015). Cheap energy has in turn boosted America s petrochemical industry, provided job opportunities, created other energy intensive businesses, lowered electricity bills, and has significantly reduced the amount of carbon emission released to the ... Any weaknesses in the research must be identified so they can be improved on. There are a number of limitations that may affect the results found by market research. Reliability is vital when trying to find out information about large target populations. To avoid poor reliability, the sample chosen to participate in the research should be representative of the whole target population. It can be assumed that Vodafone has the ability to generate a list of all users who have Internet usage through their network so choosing a sample from the target population should cause no difficulty. Using a computer, a sample sizecan be derived from random selection or through systematically selecting proportional numbers of people from different countries in which Vodafone operates. In order to increase reliability by using a large sample size could mean sacrificing their ability to gain quantitative data. Trying to generate the wrong type of results could mean gaining too much or too little information to gain a real understanding of what people think of the internet services provided to them. The fifth one however is one of the important one. The fifth Amendment deals with police procedures. Along with basic Constitutional limits, or in other words guidelines that Congress has to follow. The Fifth Amendment is a one of the most important Amendments because it gives people the rights to speech and privacy, the fifth doesn t let people be charged with the same felony twice, and it gives citizens the right to a fair trial. The first reason the fifth amendment is one of the more important amendments is because it gives people the rights to speech and privacy. No person shall be held to answer for a capital, or other infamous crime (Bill of Rights). This states that a person does not have to talk if they do not deem it fit. Someone can plead the fifth and they just stated that they do not want to talk. The play s playwrights, Robert E. This is also his way of telling the spectators and the jury that there is a world out there with boundless perceptions and by becoming intact with the sole idea of God s creation, one misses that chance to meet that ever so changing world. Once one misses that chance, one does not progress to one s full potential. At the same time, Drummond also states, ... It s the loneliest feeling in the world to find yourself standing up when everybody else is sitting down (Lawrence and Lee 51). He is telling Brady that while everybody else has opened their minds and started reconsidering their own beliefs, he remains close minded and that feeling of isolation and exclusion from the rest of the world is because of his ignorance. Bitcoin is essentially an electronic cash currency and is perceived as a great success since its launch in 2009. Most e cash schemes require a centralized bank, which acts as a safeguard for potential scams or for double spending detection. (Simon Barber et al. 2012 p 401), In contrast, the bitcoin protocol allows individuals to freely send bitcoins without any third party interference. The fee for sending bitcoins is very little in comparison to other online payment methods such as PayPal thus bitcoin is considered to be cost efficient. (Grinberg, R. 2012 p 160). Bitcoin is considered ethical because it is unique to the characteristics of credit cards. Banks have attempted to remove the issue of fraud and find mechanisms to stop hackers and phishers from obtaining personal data. This is because traditional transactions require the transmission confidential data, making data vulnerable to interception by hackers (Simon Barber et al. 2012 p 402). Shukhov displays this personal pride and dignity throughout the book and continues to earn respect from his fellow inmates by working extra hard and earnings extra food and favors because of that. Furthermore, it is remarkable how Shukhov continues to have hopes for a new day, which is why he was able to survive the gulagsystem for ten years. Essay about Humans Must Adapt to Global Warming No one in the scientific community would argue with the premise that the earth s climate has changed over the eons of its existence or that it will continue to change. The arguments now revolve around if mankind s use of the environment has specifically altered our climate. Scientists have described our world as a clump of matter that spun out of the sun to join its journey hurling though cold and empty space. Our spaceship earth would match the moon and have no climate had not molten core continued to pierce its cold crust, spewing forth chemicals that would eventually form our atmosphere, our seas and life itself ( Mcphee ). As the receding glaciers and polar ice caps part of the natural gerological process, or is the human s comsumption of fossil fuels to blame? Do we as humans face a dilemma of rising seas of our own making or is the earth following it own path and we can only be observers of events that our beyond our control? The earths history is recorded in rocks, tree ring, ice cores, and mud. We must assume that the climates were warmer or colder based on the type of fossiled fauna left in the geological record. No actual evidence is left in rock formations that shows the chemical make up of historic atmospheres. Scientists have recently by passed this dilemma by coring glaciers, allowing them to look into past atmospheres as old as 750,000 years. Glaciers are made by compaction of snow on land. As the snow compacts and gets deeper it is subject to alteration and movement owing to its own weight and pressure (Curry 292). Several fly species such as Oestrus ovis have been reported to cause myiasis, affecting humans either directly, when the female fly deposits the larvae on the conjunctiva or eyelids of a human host rather than a sheep or a goat, or indirectly, through dirty hands. Ocular myiasis presentations include external ophthalmomyiasis, when the larvae is found in the external ocular tissues, leading to ocular surface disorders (conjunctivitis, punctuate keratitis) or pseudoorbital cellulitis, and internal ophthalmomyiasis, a rare condition with a clinical course ranging from asymptomatic to severe uveitis, retinal detachment and optic atrophy. Several methods of treatment have been reported depending on the location of the larva. Management of external myiasis includes the mechanical removal of the larvae in association with topical administration of steroids to reduce conjunctival inflammation.(1) This may be a challenging maneuver, as the larva tends to firmly attach to the ocular surface. Some authors recommend the use of topical anesthetic to loosen the larval attachment.(2) Double eversion of the eyelids is mandatory to ensure that larvae have been completely removed. Early removal decreases the potential of vision loss and larvae dissemination. For subretinal larvae, argon laser photocoagulation has been used with successful results. Pathogenesis Essay Pathogenesis It is known that cancer, in general, is a group of diseases that is characterized by the out of control growth and spread of a group of abnormal cells, which can often times result in death. More specifically, breast cancer is a hormonally dependent disease, which causes malignancy in the epithelial cells of the ducts and/or lobules of the breast (Lippman, 2012). Therefore, women without functioning ovaries, who never receive estrogenreplacement therapy, do not develop breast cancer(Lippman, 2012). Luminal B tumor cells are epithelial in origin, have a different gene expression pattern than that of Luminal A, and have a worse prognosis than Luminal A (Lippman, 2012). The third subtype is known as normal breast like subtype, which express genes similar to that of normal breast epithelium and appears somewhat nonmalignant, with a prognosis similar to that of Luminal B (Lippman, 2012). The fourth subtype is known as HER2 amplified, which means that these have an increase in the HER2 gene found on chromosome 17q and often have overexpression of genes that are adjacent to the HER2 (Lippman, 2012). Before recent research and studies, the prognosis of a patient with such subtype was quite poor however, with the recent advances in therapy designed to directly target such, the clinical outcome for these patients is improving dramatically (Lippman, 2012). Beck and Charles go over seven different topics and arguments discussed in the federalist papers. Part One: Novus ordo seclorum: A New Order For the Ages is all about the new way of thinking once the colonies declared independence from England. It discussed how new concepts were being introduced and why a new order was needed for that particular time. In fact Alexander Hamilton sounded a lot like Abraham Lincoln. Abraham Lincoln s main objective as president was also to preserve the Union. Hamilton wrote, Nothing remains as obvious as the fact that either the new Constitution will be adopted or the Union will be torn apart. The Silent Film Within Our Gates In 1920, Oscar Micheaux directed the silent film Within Our Gates which conducts an in depth examination of race relations and discrimination within the United States. One of the outcomes of the film is a blatant failure of justice resulting in the lynching of an African American couple, The Landrys. Seemingly, time has not altered the inherent absence of justice concerning the treatment of Black men and women in situations where criminal activity is suspected, legitimately or otherwise. Evidence is found with the killings of Eric Garner, Michael Brown, Tamir Rice, and many other Black victims who died at the hands of police who are tasked with upholding justice and fail to do so. However, what was the popular sentiment toward failure within the legal system between 1920 and 2015? At the turn of the century, and after gaining our independence, the United States land mass more than doubled through the use of purchasing, annexing, and war. However, the foreign policy of our government took a predominately isolationist stand. This was a national policy of abstaining from political or economic relations with other countries. President Grover Cleveland promised to avoid committing the nation to form any alliances with other countries while also opposed to the acquisition of new land. The climate of post Civil War US prevented us from deep involvement in foreign affairs. Our navy was also weakened by the war.
