My current research at Texas A M University is in a broad area of uncertainty quantification (UQ),
with applications to inverse problems, transport based filtering, graphical models and online learning.
My research projects are motivated by many real world problems in engineering and life sciences. In
my current postdoctoral position in the Institute for Scientific Computation (ISC) at Texas A M
University, I have worked with Professor Bani K. Mallick from the department of statistics and

A hierarchical Bayesian model is developed in the inverse problem setup. The Bayesian approach
contains a natural mechanism for regularization in the form of a prior distribution, and a LASSO type
prior distribution is used to strongly induce sparseness. We propose a variational type algorithm by
minimizing the Kullback Leibler divergence between the true posterior distribution and a separable
approximation. The proposed method is illustrated on several two dimensional linear and nonlinear

A lot of geeks are pale, bespectacled, wear dark clothing and don t get out much the stereotype exists

Abstract: Children with Down syndrome typically have increased behavioral issues associated with
their disability due to the disabilities phenotype. Introducing a token economy system was proven
effective to increase the amount of running in the subject. The purpose of this study was to determine
the effectiveness of a token economy to increase running on command of a child with Down
syndrome. Having a token economy system in place, allows better stability and repetitiveness in their
daily lives. This essentially helps the student maintain behavioral control and the maladaptive
behaviors are less likely to happen. A five week token economy behavioral program was implemented
and included earning tokens (up to five) per session to exchange for up to five minutes of computer
time. The results drastically changed from pre intervention to post intervention by 80%. Every task
was completed and when asked, although there were still minor reoccurring behaviors that needed
correction. When implementing a token economy it is still important to manage the smaller behaviors
in order to increase the amount of physical activity completed per session.

On the Rosenberg scale results I got a 20 out 35 on the scale, which is considered a normal score on
the test. For the self esteem IAT test my results were that I moderately identify more with good than
bad. I believe it s really hard on the Rosenberg test to figure if you may have self esteem issues,
because it s not broad enough the test only asks you 10 questions, I don t think that s enough to show
you may have a self esteem problem, but to show maybe a warning sign of self esteem problems, I
think what would improve this test at the end, would be to let you know by your score, if you may
need to seek a therapist s or give ways to reach for help and give tips to improve your self esteem. I

I believe the Rosenberg test is defiantely not long enough to really help improve that much, and really
does not give enough feedback to improve that person taking the test. The IAT was good to at least
inform the person more that they may need to work on some things, by putting them into two
categories good or bad. I believe one of the most important parts of these tests are a better connection
with the test taker, and the IAT gave a good job in showing clear instructions, and the purpose of what
this test is trying to measure, and gives you opportunities to learn more on the experiment, and what
their website is trying to do. The Rosenberg scale, I think gave a poor job of instructions and not a
good description of what really they are going for in the experiment, and did a poor job at redirecting

There hasn t been any real political leadership for ending the drug war from either of the major
political parties. The Republican Party is the most ardent supporter of the drug war, yet it contradicts
some of its main principles. In fact, it s difficult to name another political issue, other than the
legalization of drugs, which would better accomplish the party s goals for reducing government
spending while benefitting the private sector. The Republican Party has somehow successfully
attached itself to the drug war while selling fears of big government and the nanny state. Republicans

addition, the Republican Party is generally the most vocal with supporting states rights in hopes of
