The Chu Lai Massacre
Attacks stretched as far as the northern U.S. military installation, Chu Lai, down to the primary
objective in the south, Saigon. The launch of such an intricate and fierce attack caught many U.S.
commanders off guard because at the time, the potential of the Northern fighters was severely
underestimated. In the years before, Saigon acted as a safe haven for many refugees trying to
escape the horrors of war. The comfort of the city soon vanished when the North Vietnamese sent
35 battalions to seize six objectives in the capital. A few of these enemy fighters took over a
government radio station with the intention of spreading pro communist propaganda. The North
Vietnamese believed that if they could control the transmitting tower, they could convince the
citizens of the South to riot against the U.S. forces. Fortunately for the U.S. troops, this plan was
stopped by a Lieutenant of the Army of the Republic of Vietnam(ARVN) who previously decided to
cut all transmission to and from the government radio tower. As the Viet Cong were waiting for
reinforcements, ARVN troops... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Confused by the explosions and machinegun fire coming from both sides, many reporters couldn t
quite tell who had the upper hand. The confusion left many reporters with the assumption that the
enemy had taken over the embassy, even though it was an obvious win for American forces. It
wasn t long until a picture of three U.S. soldiers fighting for their life alongside two of their dead
brothers was plastered onto the front page of the New York Times. American televisions and
newspapers were being filled with the horrible images of the Vietnam War. For many Americans,
this was their first glimpse at war, and it was gruesome. Even though the event at the embassy were
less catastrophic than the reporters made it seem, the footage of U.S. troops fighting for their own
embassy shocked many

Kentucky Education Reform Act Seeks Help Address The...
Kentucky was the state in where school finance system was relied heavily on local property tax
revenues and resulted large inequality gap in spending per pupil and student achievement gap
between wealth and poor districts. Kentucky Educational Reform Act seeks to address the problem
of unconstitutionality by bringing lawsuits against state from 66 Kentucky schooldistricts where
receiving the low property tax bases. In 1989, the Rose v. Council produced most radical changes
out of court rulings at that time because KERA was the first attempt and experiment to integrate so
many parts into one package as comprehensive policy and no state ever tried it before. They found
that financing of schools in Kentucky was unconstitutional with uneven... Show more content on

This new spending budget targeted the risk students population who need to be improved. Although
there were little criticism on KERA from anti tax citizens and organization concerning against state
involvement in local schools, it never became obstacle to write a bill. To the weakened and unjust
educational system in Kentucky public schools, KERA acted as systemic reform and adequacy
reform that orders problems and correct state s schools. One scholar said that KERA changed
everything at once from school governance, curriculum and finance system.
Kentucky had higher proportion of population who are in poverty than any other states except the
five states and Kentucky had weak education system in which 69% of the citizens in Kentucky
over age 25 completed at least a year of high school in compared to national figure was 82%. The
president of the Council for Better Education and Carnegie Foundation characterized the Kentucky
education as crumbling because they saw that the half of teachers teaching subjects unqualified to
teach and school s development was retarding that influence economic retardation as well. The case
of Rose v. Council for Better Education, which the court proved Kentucky s public education
system is inadequate, inequitable and thus, unconstitutional, marked the starting point as to make
more equitable and efficient public schools. By late 1980s, there was

Why Does Shintoism Need To Compete With Christianity
Shintoism is an ancient religion that predominates modern japan but it has undergone many
changes to compete with many foreign religions such as Christianity. Does Shintoism need to
conform to compete with Christianity better yet does it really need to compete with other religions
anyway? The main sentiment that comes with foreign religions is to explain the creation of the
universe usually depicting a divine being or godwhile Shintoism mainly tries to empower the
mysteries of the universe rather than to explain them. Shintoism also through the most part lacks
a holy book since most of the practices and ideas where spread through story tellers this causes
an issue since foreign countries have to explain Shintoism on their own which make it look
barbaric in comparison. The early history of Shintoism may shed some light on this argument to
understand some of the reason for the Shinto conformation. At around 300 B.C.E the Japanese
people where set up in small clans named Uji and each clan where unique from each other since
they developed independently due to the mountains such as Fuji (Kasulis, 75). Each Uji believed
in a a spirit that protected the clan known as a Ujigami which was the predecessor for the modern
day kami that many foreign individuals see as... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

of Shintoism. The Kojiki on the other was to be a record keeper for ancient Shintoism that could
have been taught to the Japanese people but the work was written in ancient Japanese which was
full of contradictions making it incredible difficult to

Public Art Essay
Public Art Any drawn line that speaks about identity, dignity, and unity is art, (Chaz Bojorquey)
is a statement that I agree with. Art is perceived differently from all people based on their
culture, religion, personal taste, and many other factors. I believe that as long as what has been
created is meaningful to either the creator or even to somebody that is viewing it, it should be
considered art. Art in the public is a very controversial subject that brings up the important
question of, Should public art be considered as real art, personally I think that it should be. I
believe that the difference between art that is placed in a gallery and art that is visible by a
community is the fact that what is acceptable in a gallery... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Another possibly positive outcome of art in the public could be the affect that it may have on
the younger generations. If children are being raised in a community where they can see art on
a daily basis then I believe it will have a positive effect on their lives by allowing them to learn
how to appreciate art and what it has to offer. Art being in the public is also a way to grant
people, who do not have enough money to enjoy the luxury of going to a gallery, the pleasure of
seeing something aesthetically appealing on a regular basis. It also makes a town more
interesting to visit; no one wants to visit a town with not much excitement. I once went to an art
festival in Baltimore, Maryland, where they had green marbles ground up and put into the black
top roads. This sight alone made my heart race and made this town more exciting. For towns that
may have tourism it could be a way to attract to coming there or maybe even staying. Art can also
be a controversial at the same time. There are many people who express their idea of art in a
way that, in my opinion, should not be seen by the public. For example, many people consider
paintings of naked women to be art, as do I, but I do not think it is appropriate for a painting of
that nature to become a piece of public art. Another example is people who use profanity in their
art. Swearing is not appropriate for a child to see painted on the side of their neighborhood
buildings. The thing

Women s Physical And Outer Appearance
Men and women s physical or outer appearance is nowadays playing an important role in
promoting false images of the two genders, especially through the media. When you think about
the ideal body image, what crosses your mind? You probably think of a bodybuilder with a
chiseled six pack or a gorgeous model with a small waist. The idea of the perfect body image in
today s society stems from the misguided idealism of the media. It is seen in Hollywood movies,
beauty magazines and even marketing advertisements. Since a young age, our generation has
been influenced by what the perfect body should look like. It is implanted in our minds that we
should look a certain way without even realizing it. Therefore, the media has a direct effect on
how the general public views what is and what isn t acceptable in regard to the standard of perfect
physical attractiveness. By establishing unattainable standards of beauty and bodily perfection, the
media drive ordinary people to dissatisfaction with their body images. This dissatisfaction can
result in resorts to drastic measures, and even disorders of behaviour, as people try to achieve these
unreachable goals. It is often said that beauty is in the mind of the beholder. For that reason,
different perceptions of beauty should not affect human beings since everyone has a different view
on beauty. However, beauty tends to have a significant impact on young teens nowadays,
particularly in the fashion industry, which leads to consequences for

The Death Of The Great War Is England Singing The...
Armistice Day , at the end of the Great War is England singing the holiness of God away, as
Brittan whistles this new song for their conditions for humans spiral out of control by way of
poverty, aloneness, and doubt. During this new dimension, it is not a new song of happiness
that comes out of existence, it is an old song of sadness that is somehow different because of the
earth s new conditions. Unlike any kind of rats in the Trenches that are around them, the vermin
are not out to harm souls, but to destroy most of God s human beings. While they are not able to
kill them, they are able to torment them for years to come. This plague is the same as the smoke
of the torment as it seems to rise forever and ever (Revelation 14:11). The only way to glorify
God is to accept His principles of mercy. Mercy means that God does the performs for His
people. If God does the work, then He gets the glory. If mankind looks away then the smoke will
never go away. Just as, right after the war, this smoke is a forewarning that Satan s purpose in the
world is coming to fulfillment as he will embrace the pending judgments against the torment he is
creating.
To Neville s surprise as he watches Britain sink by war debts, trade exports falling, unemployment
rising to double figures, and the Spanish Flu, in retaliation, he vows to make Germany pay . After

The Trickster in Anne Rice s Interview with the Vampire...
The Trickster in Anne Rice s Interview with the Vampire
Vampires today, particularly after Anne Rice s five book series, the Vampire Chronicles, are
portrayed in quite a different light than the vampires of ages past. Gone is the garlic and cross that
offers protection, gone is the vampire s fear of all light and gone is their distant, in human nature.
(Whyte 2) In fact, most vampires are portrayed as both beast and man, struggling to retain their
humanity as the lust for blood seems to never diminish and eternal as they are, their inner conflict
spans to infinity. This duplicity is highly reminiscent of the paradoxical nature of the trickster
archetype. Tricksters embrace creation just as easily as they revel in ... Show more content on

Traditional scholarship differentiates any tangible entity that fulfills the trickster criteria as clown.
Trickster research is confusing at this point because it calls tricksters mythic entities found in
folklore and in legends. Therefore, a trickster is more than just an idea; it may also be a mythic
creature. (Kim ix) For the purposes of this essay I will refer to the trickster first as an idea, as a set
of elements and then exemplify these characteristics using mythic entities as a form of illustration.
Tricksters are usually associated with a host of negative elements such as stubbornness,
chicanery, duplicity, cruelty, greed, gluttony, and avarice; (Musinsky) although their unifying
elements are selfishness, egoism and self centeredness. As mentioned before tricksters are
amoral, or, to use a Nietzsche s phrase: beyond good and evil. According to Radini, a well known
trickster scholar, the trickster possesses no values, moral or social, is at the mercy of his passions
and appetites, yet through his actions all values come into being. (xxiii) Almost all tricksters are
megalomaniacs, a trait that is not necessarily negative, according to the aforementioned Nietschean
view of the world. Every living thing seeks to discharge its strength life itself is will to power.
This innate characteristic of life is of absolute value and acceptance of the will to power in all its
sublime manifestations, both beautiful and

aviation technician community. The militarytechnician program came about with the need of
qualified civilians in a full time status to preform administrative actions, prepare, and train
Reservists for mobilization after WWII. In the 60 s, a Memorandum of Understanding was made
between the U.S Civil Service Commission and the Department of the Army establishing dual status
requirements. These requirements allowed the U.S. Army to ensure the military technicians would
have to mobilize with their unit. Public Law 90 486 The Technician Act of 1968 established the
National Guard Technician Program. (National Gaurd Bureau, 2009) The law created a new section
of military technicians excepted commonly known as dual status. This made military techs no

How Azure Is A Cloud Computing Platform And Infrastructure...
Azure is a Cloud computing platform and infrastructure provided by Microsoft Corporation for
building, deploying and managing a large range of services throughout the world.
WebApps is one part of the services Microsoft provides in the category of Platform as a Service
(PaaS), this will help to deploy websites without worrying about the underlying infrastructure. The
underlying infrastructure will be taken care by Microsoft Support Team itself. The pricing will be
based on the computing, storage, data transfer speed etc.
Why One should go to Azure WebApps?
The very obvious question is why we move if our application is running well without any issue?
Answers can be by moving to PaaS (WebApps) we gain following:
No operation costs: Since WebApps will be provided as PaaS, no server security patching,
maintenance are required, all will be done by Microsoft Support Team itself.
No more hardware costs: In on prem hosted services you need to retire outdated hardware on time
to time, but with moving to Cloud no more hardware purchase required.
Pay as per the usage: Pricing will be calculated on usage based only, and not for the overall
infrastructure your service has been deployed.
Scale Out or Scale UP as needed: Suppose you expected that on festive occasion your site going
to handle more requests, you can easily scale out the instances of the service for more requests,
and once requests come into normal it can be down graded. Scale up helps to boost the service

The Mind Body Issue Is The Subject Of Extraordinary Debate
Rationalists and researchers have talked about the mind body issue for a long time. The essence
of the mind body issue is that people have a subjective affair of an internal life or awareness that
appears to be expelled from the physical world. In spite of a subjective affair of a partition
amongst psyche and body, brain and body need to interface somehow. Precisely how the psyche
and body associate is the subject of extraordinary debate. Toward the start of this course, I realized
that my perspectives on the mindbody issue inclined more toward monism, however I didn t have a
reasonable method of reasoning for my position. Given the many sided quality of the mind body
issue, I expected that both dualismand monism would have... Show more content on Helpwriting.net

In the previous couple of decades, the field of brain research has propelled more neurochemical
etiologies of mental issue, and Descartes dualism couldn t clarify how a neurochemical variation
from the norm harms the non physical personality (Churchland, 1988). At long last, dualism is not
a testable speculation (Cofer, 2002), and in this manner I can t acknowledge it as logical.
The monist position, particularly monist realism, evades a large number of the previously
mentioned imperfections of dualism. Monist realism keeps up that every single subjective state,
for example, cognizance, can be lessened to neuronal movement. Individuals with religious
feelings may observe monist realism to be shocking, on the grounds that diminishing awareness to
a neural mark ruins the idea of through and through freedom. In any case, late research
demonstrates that cerebrum action and muscle development go before cognizant basic leadership,
which plainly bolsters monist realism (Libet, Gleason, Wright, and Pearl, 1983). Since I am not a
religious individual, I do disagree with monist realism s position on choice. As far as awareness, I
didn t surmise that any of the relegated savants made an extraordinary showing with regards to
clarifying why cognizance could by no means be the result of neurons and neurotransmitters. I
believed that John Searle verbalized the monist realist position soundly, in that awareness is
spatially confined to the cerebrum. Indeed, David

Great Expectations Manipulation Essay
Dickens Conveying of Receiving Great Expectations , in Great Expectations In the novel, Great
Expectations by Charles Dickens, the author conveys that the nature of coming into great
expectations and then expecting everything to be handed on a silver platter is rather negative,
through displaying how it makes people snobbish, brings them despair, and make them act
foolishly. The protagonist, Phillip Pip Pirrup, is a character who is a perfect demonstration of
someone who is negatively affected by their high expectations when they obtain lots of wealth. He

Building Healthier Relationships With Diverse Students
Looking at ways to build healthier relationships with the individuals you work with and interact
with on a daily basis, one can refer to a training model presented by Bernstein Yamashiro Noam.
According to Bernstein Yamashiro Noam (2013), helping administrators work with teachers to
define boundaries and relationships with students can help cultivate healthier relationships with
their students. Coinciding with this theory, Carlisle (2011), schools developed healthy relationships
after receiving proper training. The teachers, students, and staff, including the community, used a
training model fostering and encouraging healthier relationships. The fields of educationand

For example, students whose cultural norms do not allow public assertiveness are viewed as
inadequate nursing students. Students felt a conflict between pleasing their faculty and
maintaining their own cultural identity. Students who try to meet the expectations of the dominant
culture further conflict when they feel rejected by their families, who do not approve of the changes
occurring in them (Patterson et al., 2004). Diverse students may choose to change their cultural
practices and behaviors in order to be accepted; however, at times, this is not possible. As a result,
these students may be forced to remain as the outsiders, fearful of challenging the status quo and
struggling throughout the course of their education. It is imperative that nursing faculty return to
the core values of the profession and apply the fundamental principle of caring to all students, not
just those who reflect characteristics similar to their own. The profession of nursing cannot be
viewed as one of cultural competence until educators realize that their students deserve the same
culturally sensitive treatment as their patients (DeBrew, J. K., Lewallen, L. P., Chun, E., 2014). In
addition to the ethnic and cultural struggles students face, in a study by Zaman (2008), it looked at
gender sensitivity training and whether early childhood students get adequate training. When
receiving gender sensitivity training the students engaged in self reflection about their attitudes and
expectations toward boys and the effect those attitudes had on their teaching, resulting in less biased
interactions. For instance, an area of sensitivity training for mental health professionals can be
sexual orientation preference. In an intervention study conducted by Israel, Willging, and Ley

Introduction and identification of family
The family is the basic unit of society. When a family member becomes ill, the entire family is
affected. Family assessment is important because assessing the family s structure and style will
help formulate an effective teaching plan. It also helps to examine the strengths and barriers in the
family. Health promotion and health maintenance for children and their families are foundational
for all nursing care. Having specific knowledge about one s genetic makeup and associated

People with Huntington disease fatigue easily, so it is important for him to take several short
breaks throughout the day. Physical activity is also important. It can be as simple as walking

Conservation of structural integrity
Apathy and decreased motivation are two of the most disabling symptoms of Huntington s disease,
which could be wrongfully labelled as laziness. To prevent pressure ulcers, G.S should be included
in activities that rely mainly on gross motor skills such as sweeping, raking leaves, bringing the
clothes in off the line, and folding the clothes.
Conservation of personal integrity
People with HD, and particularly those living in residential care facilities, often lose their
identities when caregivers and support staff become too intensely focused on their medical care
and support needs. Immediate physical needs have to be balanced with opportunities for
individuals to be recognized as more than just a disease . Creating a personal print or video diary, a
scrap book or a photo album is one enjoyable way for people to record their interests and personal
histories. It can also be used as a tool to stimulate discussion and reinforce the person s identity as

Whitney, I really enjoyed your post and your opinion on the topic of diversity. Also I completely
agree with many of the points made from your article. For instance, teachers teach their students
how they were taught. I know for a fact this this statement is true based on my own experiences. I
find myself saying things in my classrooms, that many of my previous teachers said to my
classmates and I all the time. Also, I teach my students similarly to how I was taught, but with my
own little flair and touch added to it. Another point I agreed with is the fact that teachers need pre

Short Term Goals
Title of Your Report Tony Robbins once said goals are like magnets, they ll attract the thing that
makes them true . Goals are always needed, they help one grow in life. Having goals gives more
encouragement to someone so they can complete it. Goals can always help someone out in
different types of ways, it can be personal, academic, performance. As long as you make it a goal, it
s most likely to happen. Here are some of my own goals. There are such things as short term
goals, which are goals that can be completed within the upcoming months. These are my short
term goals. In the next year I want to keep all of my grades above a C . The purpose of this goal
is to get me to keep doing my work throughout the entire school year. This year I want to have at
least decent grades when passing, instead of barely passing. Doing extracurricular activities I
think would be fun and help me find a good college based on what I do, doing this is actually a
goal of mine. These will be fun and I hope to join the gaming and environmental science clubs....

Cadence Analysis
A cadence is the notes or chords ending a section of music with feeling of the ending. The term
cadence applies to phrases or complete sections called movements. A cadence is at least two
chords that ends a phrase, section, or piece. A cadence indicates the end of a phrase. A cadence
can be labeled as two types; weak or strong depending on its sense of finality. Cadences must be a
sense of closure, as at the end of a phrase. Rhythm plays an important part in determining where this
cadence occurs. Cadences are strong indicators of the tonic or pitch of a piece. Rhythm is the
arrangement of sounds as they move through time. You can take any rhythm and arrange it to create

Questions On Online Internet Marketing Essay
a.Rivalry (Among Competing Sellers)
CyberGold, NetCentives, and MyPoints are the three main online Internet marketing firm. All the
competitors offer similar services and products. Competition is based on a non price dimension
like marketing, brand, and search technology. Competitive rivalry is high as the cost of switching
firm is low. Because this is relatively new business, there are growth opportunities for economic of
scale in advertising. (Gamble Thompson, 2013)
b.Threat of New Entrance
Online Internet marketing has a low barrier to entry. Since the barrier is low, new entries should be
able to offer more incentives, lower marketing cost, and innovative new ideas to market the
advertiser products and service. The threat of new entrants is high because online advertising is
relative at its early stages and few online Internet marketing firm has set itself apart from its
competitor. (Gamble Thompson, 2013)
c.Threat of Substitute Products
The threat of substitute in the industry is weak. In term of mass marketing, the Internet can reach
far more people in every corner of the world. The market is still growing as more users are
coming online and new and improve technologies are improving the median we utilize to access
the net. Online advertising allows marketers to tailor the company s product and services to a

The Static Model Of Data Mining Essay
Abstract: Lot of research done in mining software repository. In this paper we discussed about the
static model of data mining to extract defect .Different algorithms are used to find defects like
naГЇve bayes algorithm, Neural Network, Decision tree. But NaГЇve Bayes algorithm has the best
result .Data mining approach are used to predict defects in software .We used NASA dataset
namely, Data rive. Software metrics are also used to find defects.
Keywords: NaГЇve Bayes algorithm, Software Metric, Solution Architecture,.
I.INTRODUCTION
According to [1], multiple algorithms are combined to show better prediction capability using
votes. NaГЇve Bayes algorithm gives the best result if used individual than others. The contribution
of this paper based on two reasons. Firstly, it provides a solution architecture which is based on
software repository and secondly it provides benchmarks that provide an ensemble of data mining
models in the defective module prediction problem and compare the result. Author used NASA
dataset online [2] which contain five large software projects with thousands of modules. Bohem
found 80/20 rule and about the half modules are defect free [3]. Fixing Defects in the operational
phase is considerably more expensive than doing so in the development or testing phase. Cost
escalation factors ranges from 5:1 to 100:1 [3]. It tells defects can be fixed in operational phase
not in development and testing phase. The study of defect prediction can be classified into

Medieval Universities In The Middle Ages
The idea of a university, an institution composed of students seeking higher education in particular
subjects, facilitated by teachers who are knowledgeable in the subject he or she teaches, is one of
many concepts that has survived throughout the Middle Ages into modern day ( university ).
Although the idea of a universityhas evolved over time since the Middle Ages, the general
concepts of a university have remained the same, allowing for the successful comparison and
contrasting of the changes in what was considered university, or universitas Latin, commonly used
as the language in which lectures were given, for university in medieval times, and what is now

The main four disciplines that were established to be studied in medieval universities were
theology, law, medicine, and letters what we know today as liberal arts ( Legacies of the Middle
Ages ). Oxford University originally specialized in the arts, civil and canon law, and theology in
the twelfth century, incorporating medicine as a track of study in the thirteenth century. Oxford,
along with Bologna, Paris, and Montpelier belonged to the primary band of European
universities in medieval times (Cobban 4). The universities in the Middle Ages existed not solely
for the purpose of teaching, but also to facilitate research and debate, and that its curriculum
covered both religious and secular subjects ( Legacies of the Middle Ages ). In addition to the
four main disciplines of study previously mentioned, logical analysis applied to all subjects being
studied. In the Middle Ages, students gained a facility in the application of rational argument to
intellectual propositions, the essence of the scholastic method as it had evolved from the twelfth
century and even earlier (Cobban 150). Students attending medieval English universities studied
the trivium, consisting of classes focusing on the effective usage of logic, grammar, and rhetoric.
Arithmetic and astronomy, a mix of classical, Arabic, and contemporary sources, also played a
major role in specific subjects studied in medieval universities (Cobban 155 57). Although the
universities in medieval times taught subjects that are worldly, English scholars were subject to
ecclesiastical courts. An abundance of scholars not only received a degree from the university, but
they also acquired clerical status (Cobban 2). In the days since the formation of the university in
the Middle Ages, the amount of courses available for students to study has increased drastically, as

During my senior year it was my turn to become the leader of our team, and it was my turn to
bring our team together. In order to build a strong working relationship with a team you first
need to create the proper environment for everyone. For a team to thrive each teammate must
care for one another. To create an environment like this our senior class would regularly schedule
team bonding activities to bring everyone closer together. Along with that, all of the players
knew that they could come to us if they needed help with anything, or if something was wrong.
The second crucial part of building a strong working relationship with a team is communication.
My senior class and I knew that we had to effectively communicate what we expected from our
team, and have everyone buy into a common goal (win a championship). We also knew that we
had to allow everyone on the team a voice, so we created an environment where people could
speak their mind if they wanted to, and we would keep an open mind. By executing the things I
talked about above, my senior class and I were able to create the closest team that I had been a part

Abraham Maslow Hierarchy Of Hierarchy
Abraham Maslow, who was a humanistic psychologist, argued that needs are arranged in a
ladder like steps. He proposed a rising order of needs from the level of physiological to self
transcendence. The order of needs starts from basic survival or lower order needs to higher
order needs. As one level of need is satisfied another higher order need will emerge and assume
importance in life. The hierarchy is shown in Fig. Physiological needs: The most potent and
lowest level of all the needs are physiological needs. Thus the needs of hunger, thirst, sex,
temperature regulation and rest occupy the lowest step in the ladder. According to Maslow, when
these physiological needs are deprived for a long period, all other needs fail to appear We must eat

Aesthetic Analysis
Aesthetics is the branch of philosophy that asks questions about the nature of art and beauty. The
Classical definition of art is the good, the true, the beautiful. Art equals something that is beautiful
then it is true and leads the person experiencing it, to the good. While this may be the classical
definition of art it is not quite accurate. To think that something is true and good just because it is
beautiful is not right. There are three critiques of this definition which define art in a different
light. Leo Tolstoy defines one as romantic art; The essence of a work of art is the emotionit causes
to an audience. It makes everyone feel as one because they are all feeling the same emotion.
Malcolm Bradbury defines modern art as a... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

The Family Medical Leave Act ( Fmla )
The Family Medical Leave Act (FMLA) was passed with the idea of creating job protected leave
when necessary, while also providing employees with the opportunity to balance work, health, and
family responsibilities. FMLA is designed to avoid job loss when employees request additional
time off in order to treat a critical medical condition or deal with serious family or personal matters.
Due to the establishment of FMLA, workers can now maintain employment as they treat qualifying
medical conditions, care for a close relative, bond with newborn, etc. In other words, the concept of
FMLA was for employers to legally support their workers during life s challenging circumstances.
Although many positive outcomes are a result of this law, administering FMLA has turned into a
challenging and complex task for employers. Passing this law triggered many unintended
consequences that have tremendously affected the way organizations manage their leaveof absence
policies. Employee abuse of this privilege is a major issue employers are being faced with. The
impact FMLA leave has on the entire company, including quality, performance, and productivity can
be dramatic. These unplanned concerns that now exist due to FMLA provide tremendous amounts
of stress for the employers to properly manage the law; FMLA has turned into a problem
employers are defenseless against.

Analysis Of Rick Blain And His Internal Conflict
Analysis of Rick Blain and His Internal Conflict From the audience s perspective, Casablanca
(Michael Curtiz, 1942) is a romantic drama. The scene where Rick Blaine, the lead male, is at
the bar after seeing Ilsa Lund, his former lover, is the most dramatic moment in the film. The
audience first sees Rick alone at the bar drinking. Sam walks in the bar and has a powerful
conversation with Rick. The moment that these two characters share is dramatic because the
audience is getting to see a side of Rick that hasn t been seen yet. The audience is used to seeing
Rick as the perfect man. After he sees Ilsa, he breaks down, which is indicated by his heavy
drinking, showing that he has a weakness. The cinematography helps show the dynamic change
in Rick. The shot distance allows the audience to see Rick s facial expressions. Although Rick is
seen as strong and independent, when he is reunited with Ilsa, he is drawn into a darkness that
he is struggling with in the scene; it is easy to see the struggle of man vs. himself and the
concept of masculinity. In this scene we see Rick in a vulnerable state after having seen Ilsa for
the first time in a year. The camera shot is varied from close ups to medium long shots. When a
close up is used the audience can see the emotions on Rick s face more clearly. He is burdened
with memories of the past. This breaks with the idea of masculinity because the audience can
clearly see that Rick is in distress. Men are burdened with social norms that

Maiden Overall, Ocarina of Time gave us an exciting backstory and history of another world that
no other game had given us ever before, but the game also gave fans creative and innovative
game mechanics never handled before. The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time, built on a super
customized/advanced version of Super Mario 64 s engine, permitted new, never before seen
features. Ocarina of time was originally ported on a 64DD peripheral cartridge. The game ended

size of Ocarina. Nintendo added a targeting system which was entirely new to video games and the
camera mechanics were unprecedented. People felt that in a 3d game they couldn t move their
character exactly where they wanted them to go while moving in a three dimensional environment,
especially while targeting. Targeting can activate by pressing the Z trigger on the back of the N64

Is The American Dream A Fantasy In The Great Gatsby
Is the American Dream a Fantasy?
The alarm goes off. The red numbers brighten the room as they read 3:00 AM. His muscles ache
and he can feel the pressure of the migraine behind his temples, pulsing to the beat of his heart.
He had a long day yesterday, working a summation of ten hours. He spent the rest of the day
finalizing the documents that would allow his family to cross the Atlantic to join him in the
country where dreams come true. He has wanted what every American has always wanted, the
American Dream. But as we look at this ideal in today s time, is the American Dream achievable,
or merely a fantasy? From the two story house and the white picket fence to the consistent flow of
money from a decent paying job, the American Dream has been a desire for Americans alike since
the Declaration of Independence. It was not until the 1920s that the inundation of materialistic
objects changed the American Dream from wanting freedom to living as comfortably as possible.
As the years went on, and more machinery was being built, people gained more leisure time by
relying on these innovations to either lessen the burden of specific tasks or handle them completely.
This concept is prominent in F. Scott Fitzgerald s The Great Gatsby. Throughout the book, every
problem the characters face has something to do with money whether it is Daisy declaring her
love for Gatsby but deciding to stay with Tom or Nick moving to the East Coast in search of a
better and more comfortable life.

The Coin, But I Am Happy, And I
1.Both perspectives are interesting because they show both sides of the coin, but I believe both
are important for the development of ourselves. It is interesting how both propositions are
truthful because George speaks about being truthful about what we think and believe. To show
people our real self. When I was reading this made me think that I was using the different
approach because we need to be honest whenever we are true to ourselves we feel better, and we
have a great self esteem. On the other hand, Ibarra tell us that it is good to be ourselves, but
sometimes we need to be chameleons, by saying this, she means that we need to adapt to
different circumstances, and environments because if we show everybody ourselves, we will

happy, and I really feel good. Also, I feel like everything goes right in my life, but I believe that
there must to be an adaptation to different circumstances because we can insult or make feel bad
our colleagues or followers. Sometimes by being ourselves, we are destroying an environment of

The PRC has recurrently emphasized the importance of interethnic integration of the Uyghurs into a
Han dominated society. Regardless, the Uyghurs see this as otherwise a way of being oppressed
and undermined by the central government. Compared to the Muslims that are living in eastern and
central China, the Uyghurs face more restrictions on their religious expression and way of life (Poh)
such as praying in schools, women being criticized on wearing headscarves, and even studying the
Qur an in Arabic is controlled. Furthermore, since more Han Chinese have been moving into the
Xinjiang area, economic contingencies as well as the dominant use of Han Chinese has been
gradually phased out in most educational institutions in Xinjiang (Poh). While Beijing has
incessantly asserted that the developments made to the area has significantly improved the Uyghur
s livelihood, the minority group cannot help but to still resonate the deep seated bitterness stemmed
from decades worth of discrimination, perceived religious and cultural suppression, and economic
disparities (Poh). These increasing ethnic tensions have resulted in significant inter ethnic violence
in Xinjiang such as the 2009 riot in Urumqi where fights against the Uyghurs and the Han Chinese
police force broke out all from protesting the equality for Uyghur working institution. Another
deliberate event which the police have been criticizing it as a terrorist attack is the

Essay about Condoms and the Illusion of Safe Sex
History repeats itself. Even today different issues arise that are quite similar if one takes the time
to notice. Early in the twentieth century, smoking cigarettes became popular in America ( The #1
Preventable 1). The average person had little awareness of the negative health effects of smoking
other than perhaps throat irritation and coughing. In the 1920s, companies began claiming their
brand of cigarettes was physician tested and approved ( Cigarettes were once 2). With this in
mind, the general public believed that smoking was not harmful at all. It was not until 1957 that a
link was established between lung cancer and smoking ( 1957: Smoking causes 1). More negative
effects would be discovered later. Despite this, the... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
...The answer to both questions is almost certainly: More likely. The free pads would encourage
children to take up the game, and once they were in the habit of playing it, they would often do so
without going to the trouble of strapping on their pads.
Because condoms are available, students will be more likely to use them. They hear lectures on
the importance of using condoms in state required sexual education classes. They see the
dispensers every time they walk into the bathrooms. This makes the idea of sex ever present in
their daily environment. So students will be more likely to choose to engage in safe sex . After
that, they may start to underestimate the risk and build up the feeling of invincibility that is
commonly felt among teenagers. However, even if they were to continue using condoms, safe sex
is truly nothing more than an illusion. There are many physical risks from sexual intercourse that
condoms do not protect against. Most people know about these risks acquiring sexually transmitted
diseases (STDs), some of which are incurable or life threatening. However, the general public
exaggerates and upholds the belief that using a condom can effectively protect against the diseases.
Dr. Teresa Crenshaw would disagree. He was once a president of the American Association of Sex
Educators and is currently a member in the U.S. Presidential AIDS Commission. He once wrote,
Saying that the use of condoms is safe sex is in fact playing

Charles II Dbq Essay
The reign of Charles II and the revolution against his brother James show that England in the later
seventeenth century was ready to be Tory and Anglican but not Roman Catholic and Francophile.
Discuss.
It is not wrong to assume that the consequence of the reigns of Charles and James II was to lead
England to be Tory for some time, at least and Anglican rather than Francophile and Catholic. Both
Charles and James II had sympathies for Catholicism, and England had had a tense and problematic
relationship with Roman Catholicism since the reign of Henry VIII. This tendency and the
relationship of Charles with Louis XIV contributed greatly to the ever increasing hostility towards
France and Catholicism.
At first, Charles was willing to implement ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Danby was pro Dutch, anti French, and anti Catholic who sought to strengthen the Commons
loyalty to the King. To accomplish his objectives, he concentrated his efforts in the House of
Commons. The Commons were divided into the Court party, which supported the King, and the
Country party, which normally opposed the Crown. Later, the Court party was called Tory, and the
Country party, Whig. He sought the loyalty of the Court party by giving them pensions, offices, and
payments in cash.
To worsen the situation of Catholics, rumors about a Popish Plot started to be spread. Oates and
Tonge, the ones who invented the plot, affirmed that a group of Jesuits were planning to kill the
King and place in his place his Catholic brother, James. Thereupon these declarations, a wave of
false accusations against Catholics were made, and many were punished and killed. The Commons
passed a bill hardening the Test Act. In response to this supposed Popish Plot, the Whigs started a
plot to prevent James from becoming the new King when Charles died. When this conspiracy was
brought to light, it ruined the Whig

Descriptive Essay Car
Car I always had dreamed of buying my own muscle car in high school. I would shop every day
trying to find one that was affordable, and fast. I never could find one until one day while I was
at a family gathering my Dad asked his cousin if he had any older cars around the farm that were
for sale.
He said, I have the one for you.
A 1982 Pontiac Firebird.
It was not pretty, but it was fast he said.
A few months past, while we figured out a time to go look at this car. Finally the day came. On
the way there I was just imagining this car to look amazing. We arrived and sure enough I got
my hopes up, it was an ugly green color. We looked it over and he took me for a ride in the car.
During the ride he hit the throttle around the corner and we slid sideways. I was sold, this car
was quick. I was going to buy this project car no matter what it took. We loaded the car up on the
trailer and gave him $500 and we were headed back home. A few weeks past before we started
working on the car. We ordered parts and eventually got it to run better, and we were able to
keep the engine cool by adding electric fans. We found a set of used tires to put on it. The tires
were not the right offset size, so the rear tires stuck out about two inches on each side. I
eventually started to drive it on the streets and all over the place. While working on the car one
weekend my dad started calling the car The Firechicken. Eventually my friend made stickers that
said Firechicken, and now there is

Age Of Discovery Essay
What were the Effects of the Age of Discovery? nbsp; nbsp; nbsp; nbsp; nbsp; The Age of
Exploration was a time of struggle and wealth for many European countries. The pursuit of a
trade route to the Far East led many countries across the ocean, looking for the great spice cities
that were rumored by Marco Polo. These countries knew that whoever found the shortest or best
route would become rich, very quickly. Explorers from many European countries embarked on
journeys that not even they had any clue where they were going. This search for the Far East led
to many discoveries that would otherwise have never been found. nbsp; nbsp; nbsp; nbsp;

The world trade of the period increased to an unprecedented amount. There was new types of
businesses, new goods to be sold, and most importantly, new land to conquer. The exchange of
goods from the New World and Europe increased Europe amp;#8217;s wealth, but not only was
there an exchange of goods, but also an exchange of disease. nbsp; nbsp; nbsp; nbsp; nbsp; The
first effect of the Age of Exploration, was the finding of the New World. The New World provided
opportunities for European countries to conquer new lands and to obtain wealth while conquering.
After Columbus amp;#8220;found ; the New World, there were European explorers embarking on
new journeys there constantly. They would set up new colonies and conquer new lands. From
these colonies, they set up trading posts back to their mother countries. Gold, fur, corn, potatoes,
tobacco, chocolate, and many other products were brought back to Europe. The wealth from these
products could only be imagined. The countries would then trade their imports to other countries
and make a huge profit. This influx of money and goods led to the change of the economic
systems in Europe. This change caused the Commercial Revolution, or the establishment of many
types of new businesses. The Commercial Revolution was caused not only from the income of the
trading of goods, but also the large amounts of gold an silver that were found and shipped back to

Wild Ones By Jon Mooallem
I had a positive opinion on the reading of Wild Ones by Jon Mooallem. The book does a great
job in telling you about how humans have endangered many species around the globe. In the
story he decides to go see three endangered species a bear, butterfly, and a bird. He studied about
the animals and wrote reports on how humans have impacted their lives. For example many
polar bears are dying due to the climate change caused by humans. Mooallem also gives
examples of how we can prevent such things, one way is too reduce your own carbon footprint.
He also gave scientic examples such as, According to a 2007 study by U.S. Government scientists,
two thirds of the world s polar bears are likely to be gone by the middle of this century. Jon

The Adoption Of Islamic Business Practices
The adoption of Islamic business practices by organizations: Why, How and what are the
performance outcomes
Organizations in most industries face increased competitive pressures from other organizations that
aim to satisfy customer demands. One of the most significant issues that face organizations today is
International competition in rapidly changing environment (Porter, 1986). Competition creates
diverse, new capabilities into an industry and more dynamic and uncertain competitive
environment. In industry the speed of technological developments might have changes due to
increased competition (Wiersema and Bowen, 2008). In most global industry the fast development
of products and process innovations has become very important in order to achieve competitive
advantage (Bettis and Hitt, 1995). The expectations of customers are increasing, and to meet the
needs of the customer, organizations are competing with each other. They are looking for ways they
can get more profits and market share. There are many factors to this increased competition, as
technology and globalization have shortened distances and consumers are now aware of more
products and services (FrГ©sard and Valta, 2012). The world is changing rapidly and ways of
doing business have also changed. Globalization and technology have changed the way
corporations do work and how they treat their customers and employees. Globalization has also
increased competition. Now standards have changed, and organizations are

  • 2. The Chu Lai Massacre Attacks stretched as far as the northern U.S. military installation, Chu Lai, down to the primary objective in the south, Saigon. The launch of such an intricate and fierce attack caught many U.S. commanders off guard because at the time, the potential of the Northern fighters was severely underestimated. In the years before, Saigon acted as a safe haven for many refugees trying to escape the horrors of war. The comfort of the city soon vanished when the North Vietnamese sent 35 battalions to seize six objectives in the capital. A few of these enemy fighters took over a government radio station with the intention of spreading pro communist propaganda. The North Vietnamese believed that if they could control the transmitting tower, they could convince the citizens of the South to riot against the U.S. forces. Fortunately for the U.S. troops, this plan was stopped by a Lieutenant of the Army of the Republic of Vietnam(ARVN) who previously decided to cut all transmission to and from the government radio tower. As the Viet Cong were waiting for reinforcements, ARVN troops... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Confused by the explosions and machinegun fire coming from both sides, many reporters couldn t quite tell who had the upper hand. The confusion left many reporters with the assumption that the enemy had taken over the embassy, even though it was an obvious win for American forces. It wasn t long until a picture of three U.S. soldiers fighting for their life alongside two of their dead brothers was plastered onto the front page of the New York Times. American televisions and newspapers were being filled with the horrible images of the Vietnam War. For many Americans, this was their first glimpse at war, and it was gruesome. Even though the event at the embassy were less catastrophic than the reporters made it seem, the footage of U.S. troops fighting for their own embassy shocked many ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Kentucky was the state in where school finance system was relied heavily on local property tax revenues and resulted large inequality gap in spending per pupil and student achievement gap between wealth and poor districts. Kentucky Educational Reform Act seeks to address the problem of unconstitutionality by bringing lawsuits against state from 66 Kentucky schooldistricts where receiving the low property tax bases. In 1989, the Rose v. This new spending budget targeted the risk students population who need to be improved. Although there were little criticism on KERA from anti tax citizens and organization concerning against state involvement in local schools, it never became obstacle to write a bill. To the weakened and unjust educational system in Kentucky public schools, KERA acted as systemic reform and adequacy reform that orders problems and correct state s schools. One scholar said that KERA changed everything at once from school governance, curriculum and finance system. Kentucky had higher proportion of population who are in poverty than any other states except the five states and Kentucky had weak education system in which 69% of the citizens in Kentucky over age 25 completed at least a year of high school in compared to national figure was 82%. The president of the Council for Better Education and Carnegie Foundation characterized the Kentucky education as crumbling because they saw that the half of teachers teaching subjects unqualified to teach and school s development was retarding that influence economic retardation as well. • 4. Why Does Shintoism Need To Compete With Christianity Shintoism is an ancient religion that predominates modern japan but it has undergone many changes to compete with many foreign religions such as Christianity. Does Shintoism need to conform to compete with Christianity better yet does it really need to compete with other religions anyway? The main sentiment that comes with foreign religions is to explain the creation of the universe usually depicting a divine being or godwhile Shintoism mainly tries to empower the mysteries of the universe rather than to explain them. Shintoism also through the most part lacks a holy book since most of the practices and ideas where spread through story tellers this causes an issue since foreign countries have to explain Shintoism on their own which make it look barbaric in comparison. The early history of Shintoism may shed some light on this argument to understand some of the reason for the Shinto conformation. At around 300 B.C.E the Japanese people where set up in small clans named Uji and each clan where unique from each other since they developed independently due to the mountains such as Fuji (Kasulis, 75). Each Uji believed in a a spirit that protected the clan known as a Ujigami which was the predecessor for the modern day kami that many foreign individuals see as... • 5. Public Art Essay Public Art Any drawn line that speaks about identity, dignity, and unity is art, (Chaz Bojorquey) is a statement that I agree with. Art is perceived differently from all people based on their culture, religion, personal taste, and many other factors. I believe that as long as what has been created is meaningful to either the creator or even to somebody that is viewing it, it should be considered art. Art in the public is a very controversial subject that brings up the important question of, Should public art be considered as real art, personally I think that it should be. I believe that the difference between art that is placed in a gallery and art that is visible by a community is the fact that what is acceptable in a gallery... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Another possibly positive outcome of art in the public could be the affect that it may have on the younger generations. If children are being raised in a community where they can see art on a daily basis then I believe it will have a positive effect on their lives by allowing them to learn how to appreciate art and what it has to offer. Art being in the public is also a way to grant people, who do not have enough money to enjoy the luxury of going to a gallery, the pleasure of seeing something aesthetically appealing on a regular basis. It also makes a town more interesting to visit; no one wants to visit a town with not much excitement. I once went to an art festival in Baltimore, Maryland, where they had green marbles ground up and put into the black top roads. This sight alone made my heart race and made this town more exciting. For towns that may have tourism it could be a way to attract to coming there or maybe even staying. Art can also be a controversial at the same time. There are many people who express their idea of art in a way that, in my opinion, should not be seen by the public. For example, many people consider paintings of naked women to be art, as do I, but I do not think it is appropriate for a painting of that nature to become a piece of public art. Another example is people who use profanity in their art. Swearing is not appropriate for a child to see painted on the side of their neighborhood buildings. The thing ... • 6. Women s Physical And Outer Appearance Men and women s physical or outer appearance is nowadays playing an important role in promoting false images of the two genders, especially through the media. When you think about the ideal body image, what crosses your mind? You probably think of a bodybuilder with a chiseled six pack or a gorgeous model with a small waist. The idea of the perfect body image in today s society stems from the misguided idealism of the media. It is seen in Hollywood movies, beauty magazines and even marketing advertisements. Since a young age, our generation has been influenced by what the perfect body should look like. It is implanted in our minds that we should look a certain way without even realizing it. Therefore, the media has a direct effect on how the general public views what is and what isn t acceptable in regard to the standard of perfect physical attractiveness. By establishing unattainable standards of beauty and bodily perfection, the media drive ordinary people to dissatisfaction with their body images. This dissatisfaction can result in resorts to drastic measures, and even disorders of behaviour, as people try to achieve these unreachable goals. It is often said that beauty is in the mind of the beholder. For that reason, different perceptions of beauty should not affect human beings since everyone has a different view on beauty. However, beauty tends to have a significant impact on young teens nowadays, particularly in the fashion industry, which leads to consequences for ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Armistice Day , at the end of the Great War is England singing the holiness of God away, as Brittan whistles this new song for their conditions for humans spiral out of control by way of poverty, aloneness, and doubt. During this new dimension, it is not a new song of happiness that comes out of existence, it is an old song of sadness that is somehow different because of the earth s new conditions. Unlike any kind of rats in the Trenches that are around them, the vermin are not out to harm souls, but to destroy most of God s human beings. While they are not able to kill them, they are able to torment them for years to come. This plague is the same as the smoke of the torment as it seems to rise forever and ever (Revelation 14:11). The only way to glorify God is to accept His principles of mercy. Mercy means that God does the performs for His people. If God does the work, then He gets the glory. If mankind looks away then the smoke will never go away. Just as, right after the war, this smoke is a forewarning that Satan s purpose in the world is coming to fulfillment as he will embrace the pending judgments against the torment he is creating. To Neville s surprise as he watches Britain sink by war debts, trade exports falling, unemployment rising to double figures, and the Spanish Flu, in retaliation, he vows to make Germany pay . The Trickster in Anne Rice s Interview with the Vampire Vampires today, particularly after Anne Rice s five book series, the Vampire Chronicles, are portrayed in quite a different light than the vampires of ages past. Gone is the garlic and cross that offers protection, gone is the vampire s fear of all light and gone is their distant, in human nature. (Whyte 2) In fact, most vampires are portrayed as both beast and man, struggling to retain their humanity as the lust for blood seems to never diminish and eternal as they are, their inner conflict spans to infinity. This duplicity is highly reminiscent of the paradoxical nature of the trickster archetype. Tricksters embrace creation just as easily as they revel in ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Traditional scholarship differentiates any tangible entity that fulfills the trickster criteria as clown. Trickster research is confusing at this point because it calls tricksters mythic entities found in folklore and in legends. Therefore, a trickster is more than just an idea; it may also be a mythic creature. (Kim ix) For the purposes of this essay I will refer to the trickster first as an idea, as a set of elements and then exemplify these characteristics using mythic entities as a form of illustration. Tricksters are usually associated with a host of negative elements such as stubbornness, chicanery, duplicity, cruelty, greed, gluttony, and avarice; (Musinsky) although their unifying elements are selfishness, egoism and self centeredness. As mentioned before tricksters are amoral, or, to use a Nietzsche s phrase: beyond good and evil. According to Radini, a well known trickster scholar, the trickster possesses no values, moral or social, is at the mercy of his passions and appetites, yet through his actions all values come into being. (xxiii) Almost all tricksters are megalomaniacs, a trait that is not necessarily negative, according to the aforementioned Nietschean view of the world. Every living thing seeks to discharge its strength life itself is will to power. This innate characteristic of life is of absolute value and acceptance of the will to power in all its sublime manifestations, both beautiful and ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 12. The Mind Body Issue Is The Subject Of Extraordinary Debate Rationalists and researchers have talked about the mind body issue for a long time. The essence of the mind body issue is that people have a subjective affair of an internal life or awareness that appears to be expelled from the physical world. In spite of a subjective affair of a partition amongst psyche and body, brain and body need to interface somehow. Precisely how the psyche and body associate is the subject of extraordinary debate. Toward the start of this course, I realized that my perspectives on the mindbody issue inclined more toward monism, however I didn t have a reasonable method of reasoning for my position. Given the many sided quality of the mind body issue, I expected that both dualismand monism would have... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... In the previous couple of decades, the field of brain research has propelled more neurochemical etiologies of mental issue, and Descartes dualism couldn t clarify how a neurochemical variation from the norm harms the non physical personality (Churchland, 1988). At long last, dualism is not a testable speculation (Cofer, 2002), and in this manner I can t acknowledge it as logical. The monist position, particularly monist realism, evades a large number of the previously mentioned imperfections of dualism. Monist realism keeps up that every single subjective state, for example, cognizance, can be lessened to neuronal movement. Individuals with religious feelings may observe monist realism to be shocking, on the grounds that diminishing awareness to a neural mark ruins the idea of through and through freedom. In any case, late research demonstrates that cerebrum action and muscle development go before cognizant basic leadership, which plainly bolsters monist realism (Libet, Gleason, Wright, and Pearl, 1983). Since I am not a religious individual, I do disagree with monist realism s position on choice. As far as awareness, I didn t surmise that any of the relegated savants made an extraordinary showing with regards to clarifying why cognizance could by no means be the result of neurons and neurotransmitters. I believed that John Searle verbalized the monist realist position soundly, in that awareness is spatially confined to the cerebrum. Indeed, David ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

The protagonist, Phillip Pip Pirrup, is a character who is a perfect demonstration of someone who is negatively affected by their high expectations when they obtain lots of wealth. According to Bernstein Yamashiro Noam (2013), helping administrators work with teachers to define boundaries and relationships with students can help cultivate healthier relationships with their students. Coinciding with this theory, Carlisle (2011), schools developed healthy relationships after receiving proper training. For example, students whose cultural norms do not allow public assertiveness are viewed as inadequate nursing students. Students felt a conflict between pleasing their faculty and maintaining their own cultural identity. Students who try to meet the expectations of the dominant culture further conflict when they feel rejected by their families, who do not approve of the changes occurring in them (Patterson et al., 2004). Diverse students may choose to change their cultural practices and behaviors in order to be accepted; however, at times, this is not possible. As a result, these students may be forced to remain as the outsiders, fearful of challenging the status quo and struggling throughout the course of their education. It is imperative that nursing faculty return to the core values of the profession and apply the fundamental principle of caring to all students, not just those who reflect characteristics similar to their own. The profession of nursing cannot be viewed as one of cultural competence until educators realize that their students deserve the same culturally sensitive treatment as their patients (DeBrew, J. K., Lewallen, L. P., Chun, E., 2014). In addition to the ethnic and cultural struggles students face, in a study by Zaman (2008), it looked at gender sensitivity training and whether early childhood students get adequate training. When receiving gender sensitivity training the students engaged in self reflection about their attitudes and expectations toward boys and the effect those attitudes had on their teaching, resulting in less biased interactions. For instance, an area of sensitivity training for mental health professionals can be sexual orientation preference. In an intervention study conducted by Israel, Willging, and Ley (2016), ... Students attending medieval English universities studied the trivium, consisting of classes focusing on the effective usage of logic, grammar, and rhetoric. Arithmetic and astronomy, a mix of classical, Arabic, and contemporary sources, also played a major role in specific subjects studied in medieval universities (Cobban 155 57). Although the universities in medieval times taught subjects that are worldly, English scholars were subject to ecclesiastical courts. An abundance of scholars not only received a degree from the university, but they also acquired clerical status (Cobban 2). As one level of need is satisfied another higher order need will emerge and assume importance in life. The hierarchy is shown in Fig. Physiological needs: The most potent and lowest level of all the needs are physiological needs. The scene where Rick Blaine, the lead male, is at the bar after seeing Ilsa Lund, his former lover, is the most dramatic moment in the film. The audience first sees Rick alone at the bar drinking. Sam walks in the bar and has a powerful conversation with Rick. The moment that these two characters share is dramatic because the audience is getting to see a side of Rick that hasn t been seen yet. The audience is used to seeing Rick as the perfect man. After he sees Ilsa, he breaks down, which is indicated by his heavy drinking, showing that he has a weakness. The cinematography helps show the dynamic change in Rick. The shot distance allows the audience to see Rick s facial expressions. Although Rick is seen as strong and independent, when he is reunited with Ilsa, he is drawn into a darkness that he is struggling with in the scene; it is easy to see the struggle of man vs. himself and the concept of masculinity. In this scene we see Rick in a vulnerable state after having seen Ilsa for the first time in a year. The camera shot is varied from close ups to medium long shots. When a close up is used the audience can see the emotions on Rick s face more clearly. He is burdened with memories of the past. We had seen that film the night before, without our parents knowing of course. I jumped into the conversation. And the theatre scene with Hitler. They must have unloaded two magazines on him. They proceeded to talk about the theatre scene. I was relieved to find out that I was still part of the group. I began to think about the uncomfortable economy seat that awaited me, first thing in the morning. The plane would take off, headed for California and abruptly ending the vacation. Mid thought, they all climbed out of the jacuzzi, leaving me sitting there by myself. I watched them grab clean towels and wrap themselves up. As I watched, they began to walk away, towards the hotel. As time passed, they continued to get further away. I could not do anything as the distance between us grew larger and larger. • 41. The Coin, But I Am Happy, And I 1.Both perspectives are interesting because they show both sides of the coin, but I believe both are important for the development of ourselves. It is interesting how both propositions are truthful because George speaks about being truthful about what we think and believe. To show people our real self. When I was reading this made me think that I was using the different approach because we need to be honest whenever we are true to ourselves we feel better, and we have a great self esteem. On the other hand, Ibarra tell us that it is good to be ourselves, but sometimes we need to be chameleons, by saying this, she means that we need to adapt to different circumstances, and environments because if we show everybody ourselves, we will show them our weak spots too. I believe that when I show myself how it is, I am extremely happy, and I really feel good. Also, I feel like everything goes right in my life, but I believe that there must to be an adaptation to different circumstances because we can insult or make feel bad our colleagues or followers. Sometimes by being ourselves, we are destroying an environment of collaboration, and we create an environment of conflict where everyone has their own opinion. That is when the leader has to appear and adapt to these circumstances to find solutions. I believe if you don t approach it first, don t expect the other people to do it. 2.I believed that most of the times I can be an authentic leader at work because I can talk and act ... Modern State Of The People s Republic Of China Since 1949, the developed intrusive modern state of the People s Republic of China or PRC has increasingly incorporated rule from Beijing over the autonomous region of Xinjiang, an area that used to be populated with over 95% Muslim Turkic speaking residents known as the Uyghurs . Though the Uyghurs speak and practice their own language and culture, they are politically citizens of the PRC and the use of terms such as Han and Uyghur people, are only used as constructions to generalize groups that are contradictory. With migration of Han Chineseflowing into this area and conductive extraction of rich natural resources, the state of Xinjiang has become a transnational bridge to bring in both globalization and diversity to the Uyghur... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... The PRC has recurrently emphasized the importance of interethnic integration of the Uyghurs into a Han dominated society. Regardless, the Uyghurs see this as otherwise a way of being oppressed and undermined by the central government. Compared to the Muslims that are living in eastern and central China, the Uyghurs face more restrictions on their religious expression and way of life (Poh) such as praying in schools, women being criticized on wearing headscarves, and even studying the Qur an in Arabic is controlled. Furthermore, since more Han Chinese have been moving into the Xinjiang area, economic contingencies as well as the dominant use of Han Chinese has been gradually phased out in most educational institutions in Xinjiang (Poh). While Beijing has incessantly asserted that the developments made to the area has significantly improved the Uyghur s livelihood, the minority group cannot help but to still resonate the deep seated bitterness stemmed from decades worth of discrimination, perceived religious and cultural suppression, and economic disparities (Poh). These increasing ethnic tensions have resulted in significant inter ethnic violence in Xinjiang such as the 2009 riot in Urumqi where fights against the Uyghurs and the Han Chinese police force broke out all from protesting the equality for Uyghur working institution. • 43. Essay about Condoms and the Illusion of Safe Sex History repeats itself. Even today different issues arise that are quite similar if one takes the time to notice. Early in the twentieth century, smoking cigarettes became popular in America ( The #1 Preventable 1). The average person had little awareness of the negative health effects of smoking other than perhaps throat irritation and coughing. In the 1920s, companies began claiming their brand of cigarettes was physician tested and approved ( Cigarettes were once 2). With this in mind, the general public believed that smoking was not harmful at all. It was not until 1957 that a link was established between lung cancer and smoking ( 1957: Smoking causes 1). More negative effects would be discovered later. Despite this, the... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... ...The answer to both questions is almost certainly: More likely. The free pads would encourage children to take up the game, and once they were in the habit of playing it, they would often do so without going to the trouble of strapping on their pads. Because condoms are available, students will be more likely to use them. They hear lectures on the importance of using condoms in state required sexual education classes. They see the dispensers every time they walk into the bathrooms. This makes the idea of sex ever present in their daily environment. So students will be more likely to choose to engage in safe sex . After that, they may start to underestimate the risk and build up the feeling of invincibility that is commonly felt among teenagers. However, even if they were to continue using condoms, safe sex is truly nothing more than an illusion. There are many physical risks from sexual intercourse that condoms do not protect against. Most people know about these risks acquiring sexually transmitted diseases (STDs), some of which are incurable or life threatening. However, the general public exaggerates and upholds the belief that using a condom can effectively protect against the diseases. Dr. Teresa Crenshaw would disagree. He was once a president of the American Association of Sex Educators and is currently a member in the U.S. Presidential AIDS Commission. He once wrote, Saying that the use of condoms is safe sex is in fact playing ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Charles II Dbq Essay The reign of Charles II and the revolution against his brother James show that England in the later seventeenth century was ready to be Tory and Anglican but not Roman Catholic and Francophile. Discuss. It is not wrong to assume that the consequence of the reigns of Charles and James II was to lead England to be Tory for some time, at least and Anglican rather than Francophile and Catholic. Both Charles and James II had sympathies for Catholicism, and England had had a tense and problematic relationship with Roman Catholicism since the reign of Henry VIII. This tendency and the relationship of Charles with Louis XIV contributed greatly to the ever increasing hostility towards France and Catholicism. At first, Charles was willing to implement ... To accomplish his objectives, he concentrated his efforts in the House of Commons. The Commons were divided into the Court party, which supported the King, and the Country party, which normally opposed the Crown. Later, the Court party was called Tory, and the Country party, Whig. He sought the loyalty of the Court party by giving them pensions, offices, and payments in cash. To worsen the situation of Catholics, rumors about a Popish Plot started to be spread. Oates and Tonge, the ones who invented the plot, affirmed that a group of Jesuits were planning to kill the King and place in his place his Catholic brother, James. Thereupon these declarations, a wave of false accusations against Catholics were made, and many were punished and killed. The Commons passed a bill hardening the Test Act. In response to this supposed Popish Plot, the Whigs started a plot to prevent James from becoming the new King when Charles died. When this conspiracy was brought to light, it ruined the Whig ... I never could find one until one day while I was at a family gathering my Dad asked his cousin if he had any older cars around the farm that were for sale. He said, I have the one for you. During the ride he hit the throttle around the corner and we slid sideways. I was sold, this car was quick. I was going to buy this project car no matter what it took. We loaded the car up on the trailer and gave him $500 and we were headed back home. A few weeks past before we started working on the car. We ordered parts and eventually got it to run better, and we were able to keep the engine cool by adding electric fans. We found a set of used tires to put on it. The tires were not the right offset size, so the rear tires stuck out about two inches on each side. I eventually started to drive it on the streets and all over the place. Competition creates diverse, new capabilities into an industry and more dynamic and uncertain competitive environment. In industry the speed of technological developments might have changes due to increased competition (Wiersema and Bowen, 2008).
