Improving Current System Of Police Reporting
5.5 Improvement to Current Situation
According to five factors that have been proposed, we had suggested some recommendations to
improve current system of police reporting in Malaysia which is the Police Reporting System
(PRS) to ensure that the function of the PRS will definitely helped to record and transfer the report
in a better and easier way.
5.5.1 Role
As mentioned above, role is very important factor in police reporting in order to make the report,
received statement from complainant, and most important thing is to transfer the report to
another police officers. As a recommendation, police organization in Malaysia can organize or
provide a training program for police personnel on duty at the enquiry office about the use and
maintenance of the PRS so that they can write the report quickly and also they know the function
for every single menu and button of the PRS. Plus, if the PRS are breakdown, the police
personnel will know how to fix the problem. Thus, it wills not wasting time to wait for the
technical team to fix the problem and also they no need to write the report manually in POL 55
and re type it once the PRS was fixed.
Besides that, enquiry officer also are encourage to more than one language. For instance, if the
complainant who come over to lodge a report does not know to speak Bahasa Malaysia, the enquiry
officer are able to speak another language like English, Mandarin, Tamil or any language that easy
to understand by the complainant.

One of Ours by Willa Cather
Margaret Elliot is beautiful, talented, critical, unsatisfied, tired of the world at twenty four
(Great Short Works, 8). Engaged to a man she has no feelings for, life feels bleak and without
purpose. She feels true love once with Eric, but just for a moment. For her whole life, Margaret
had searched the faces of men for the look that lay in his eyes. She knew that look had never shone
before, would never shine for her on earth again, that such lovecomes to one only in dreams or in
impossible places like this, unattainable always. This was Love s self, and in a moment it would
die (Great Short Works, 29). For Willa Catherthis is how love exists. Happy relationships are
plentiful, but the enchanted, all encapsulating love of dreams only exists in glances. For Eric
this glance is enough. He does not regret his decision or the damnation he is sure it will cause. For
him a day shall be as a thousand years, and a thousand years as a day as his love lives on.
In most cases, however love is not enough. Both Margaret and Claude, the protagonist of Cather s
novel One of Ours feel this shimmer of love, but in the end must search for meaning elsewhere.
Set in a small Nebraska farm town, One of Ours opens several years before the start of the First
World War. Claude is unsatisfied with his simple life in the fields, and possesses an idealistic,
romantic outlook that propels him to search for meaning on a much different field in Europe. For
Claude, who wants nothing more than

Analysis Of Caprice No. 24 By Niccolo Paganini
Caprice No. 24 By Niccolo Paganini
NicolГі Paganini was a famous Italian violinist born in the midst of The Enlightenment. He wrote
a set of 24 Capriccis for the violin in the early 1800s, the most famous of which is the final
caprice, simply referred to as Caprice No. 24 . The final caprice exemplifies Paganini s bold style
and technique, which was a natural byproduct of the musical liberation that took place during the
Enlightenment. His work would inspire musicians for centuries to come.
I chose Caprice No. 24 largely because it is one of the most well known piece by Paganini. In
present day, the famous neoclassical guitar player, Yngwie Malmsteen a virtuoso in his own right
and a musician that I greatly admire has cited Paganini as a source of inspiration for his music. I
wanted to investigate this claim. I had heard small portions of Caprice No. 24 over the years, but
my first exposure to the piece in its entirety was through a studio recorded, 2013 performance by
violinist David Garrett, accompanied by an orchestra.
My first impression was that I was listening to a rock star. I had a notable physical reaction to the
music; I felt a rush of adrenaline and my heart rate increased. The music was fast paced and
intense undoubtedly physically and mentally demanding on Garrett. I am a pianist myself, and I
felt a sense of empathy. I was exhausted on his behalf by simply hearing his talented
performance. The music would slow down in some parts, only to pick back up with even more
intensity and speed. The music aroused a familiar sense of pressure, such as the pressure to
complete a difficult yet important task in a short period of time. The pressure and difficulty build
to near unbearable proportions until the work is finally finished, and dissipates into the euphoria of
accomplishment. If that scenario had a theme song, it could be Paganini s Caprice No. 24 . The
music was passionate, chaotic, and ultimately satisfying. I felt that I had witnessed true mastery of
the art of the violin in both Paganini s written work and Garrett s performance.
Caprice No. 24 is a violin solo written in the key of A minor, lending a dark and sinister quality to
the melody. The word caprice is an Italian word which

The Use Of Hack Into A Single Or Networked Computer
There are thousands of ways to hack into a single or networked computer. All hacker does not
have a notorious reason for trying to access a network. Many hackers are paid by a company to
find its network vulnerabilities. These hackers are known as white hackers or pen testers. The most
popular way to hack into a computer is with a certain attack named brute force.
The brute force attack is one of the most popular cracking methods., it is not just for password
cracking. Brute force attacks can also be used to discover hidden pages and content in a web
application. This attack is basically hit and miss until you succeed. This attack sometimes takes
longer, but its success rate is higher.
The success of the attack depends on various factors. Factors that affect most are password length
and combination of characters, letters and special characters. It does not make brute force
impossible but it makes brute force difficult. It will take a longer time to reach the password by
brute forcing. Almost all hash cracking algorithms use the brute force to hit and try. This attack is
best when you have offline access to data.
Brute force password cracking is also very important in computer security. It is used to check the
weak passwords used in the system, network or application. Brute force attack when an attacker
uses a set of predefined values to attack a target and analyze the response until he succeeds.
Success depends on the set of predefined values. If it is larger, it will

Changes In Aggregate Demand And Short-Run Aggregate Supply
1. Explain how the following changes in aggregate demand or short run aggregate supply, other
things held unchanged, are likely to affect the level of total output and the price level in the short
run.
The level of total output and the price level are determined in the short run by the intersection of the
short run aggregate supply curve and the aggregate demand curve (Rittenberg and Tregarthen,
2012). Therefore, if you know how the changes in aggregate demand or short run aggregate supply
will shift their respective curves, you can explain how the changes will affect the level of total
output and the price level.
An increase in aggregate demand
An increase in aggregate demand will shift the aggregate demand curve to the right. This will
cause the aggregate demand curve to intersect the short run aggregate supply curve at a point
above and to the right of the previous equilibrium point. This means that total output and price
levels will rise. In the graph below, the shift in the aggregate demand curve to the right was caused
by an increase in government purchases, this led to a new intersection or equilibrium point from P1
to P2. The new intersecting point is at a higher price level and higher output level.
Source: (Rittenberg and Tregarthen, 2012)
A decrease in aggregate demand
A decrease in aggregate demand would have the opposite effect to the increase in aggregate
demand that was discussed in the above answer. With a decrease in aggregate demand, the

The Vocabulary Test By Kathleen T. Williams
Published in 2007 by Kathleen T. Williams, in conjunction with Pearson Assessment, the
Expressive Vocabulary Test, Second Edition (EVT 2) is considered an individually
administered, norm referenced vocabulary assessment (Williams, 2007). The EVT 2 is the
second edition of the original Expressive Vocabulary Test by Kathleen T. Williams. As the
updated version of the original Expressive Vocabulary Test, the EVT 2 includes new features
such as a second, parallel form for examiners to test and retest to monitor growth and evaluate
response to intervention, full color illustrations that are larger than the illustrations of its
predecessor, additional labeling items for a smoother transition into the synonym task and
provide a broader sampling of vocabulary for older examinees (Williams, 2007). According to
the publisher, the EVT 2 is available for various settings, however, currently it is only available
in the English language (Williams, 2007). In order to accommodate for those who may have
special needs (i.e., the hearing or vision impaired), the EVT 2 manual provides suggested
adaptations that will allow that population to participate in the assessment. In order to access the
complete EVT 2 kit for assessment purposes, it will cost the purchaser USD $419 if they choose
to purchase through the Pearson publishing company. This complete kit includes the manual,
administration easels, 25 record forms for Form A and B, as well as a carrying bag (Williams,
2007). Additional

Hafu Essay
Hafu is the term used in Japan to describe children of half Japanese descent. This term is derived
from the English
Half which, when used in the Japanese language, indicates that a person is only half of the
Japanese culture. According to Hafu Japanese the term Hafu originated in the 1970s and is now
the most commonly used label for half Japanese children (Hafu Japanese, 2010). Being called
half might seem like an insult to some people, in Japan it is not really meant this way. In a
YouTube video Japanese got asked about what image they have about Hafu, most of them
answered that they wanted to be a Hafu as well. Almost all the answers to this question were
positive; they are pretty, they have long legs, they have the best of both worlds. The majority of
the Japanese seem to have positive views on what it is like to be a Hafu, but they might not have
a proper understanding of what it is like to be Hafu. So despite the positive image the Japanese
have, life in Japan is not easy for people with mixed roots (Views from the street on Hafu, 2010).
Japan is a very homogenous country. Research from 2013 shows that foreigners make up 1.5% of
the populace of Japan (Japan Times, 2013). While the number might have risen quite a bit now in
2015, the discrimination against ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

United Nations Security Council Resolution
Abstract
This paper evaluates the United Nations Security Council Resolution (UNSCR) 242 with regard to
its historical background, interpretations, aftermath, present status, and legal ramifications. UNSCR
242 was drafted after the Six Day war between Israel and Egypt, Jordan, and Syria. This resolution
is the bedrock of further treaties that were signed. According to the resolution, Israel is supposed to
return the captured land, however, due to a conflict of interpretation, there has been several
arguments on when and how the land should be returned. The merits of this resolution and the
prospective solutions offered are still debated to this day. The treaties and declarations following
UNSCR 242, arguably, compel us to believe that the... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Once the interpretation, historical background, status and ramifications have been discussed, the
fog clears away to understand that the UN Security Council Resolution is a failure to achieve peace,
unless both Israel and the Palestinian authorities are willing to compromise.
Discussion
History: The historical background to the war can be traced to the actions of the Egyptian
president Nasser. Nasser had asked UN Secretary General U Thant to remove the UN peace
keeping force from Egypt . When the UN had withdrawn its forces there had been three
developments that took place. The first development was a rising tide of guerrilla activity against
Israeli targets by Palestinians . Secondly, Israeli response since its inception had to retaliate harshly
for Arab attacks or ceasefire violations . Thirdly, the rumor that Israeli troops were gathering near
the Syrian border raised tensions .
The Syrian Ba th party also had a view towards the Arab Israeli conflict that exasperated the
situation between the Israelis and her neighbors. They maintained that the solution to the problem
was by exterminating the Israeli state and restoring the land that had been taken away from its
owners, apply all means needed to prevent Israel from making any new gains, and

The High Renaissance
The High Renaissance was more impactful than the Early Renaissance. While the Early
Renaissance provided the foundational skills required for Renaissance art and thinking, the High
Renaissance allowed for artists and their talent to expand and influence other regions. To the
average individual, the Late Renaissanceremains the most prominent due to the creative and
technical prowess of famous artists, and the development of Europe s literary and philosophical
culture. The High Renaissance is the main period in which people recall upon hearing of the
Renaissance famous Renaissance artists and works were created during this time. Many of the
defining characteristics of Renaissance art, such as perspective and realism, were refined in their
technical forms during the High Renaissance. They were mastered by artists such as Leonardo da
Vinci and Michelangeloin Rome under papal commissions, due to Florences relevancy declining.
The earlier Renaissance contained mostly rediscoveries of the works created in Antiquity, and the
growing stylistic distinctions between... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The Early Renaissance had only ended due to to the death of Lorenzo de Medici, one of the most
influential patrons of the time. Additionally, Girolamo Savonarola, a Dominican friar, influenced
most of Florence to denounce the Medici family and reject all vanities; this included many non
religious works of art. The hostility towards artists and their crafts caused most artists to travel to
other city states, thus spreading the mastery of Renaissance art. Overall, the Renaissance can be
split into two sections: the Early Renaissance, and the Late, or the High Renaissance. The Late
Renaissance is a more refined version of the Early Renaissance; in artistic terms, the Late
Renaissance was the mastery of technical skills founded in the earlier ages, while also an age of

World War I Was The First Major War
World War I was the first major war where technology was relied on more than the troops
themselves. After what was called the Second Industrial Revolution most major countries
started to create new technologies that in the end would pave the way for World War I. These
technologies ranged from the most used everyday things all the way up to specific types of
weaponry to be used in specific scenarios along the trenches. Most of these technologies of war,
developed from common civilian or household items, these could only result in better use in war.
These machines of war are so vast and expansive in type, but they are all technologies that would
have needed to have been used to bring the war to a close. Not only were machines a large part
but so was Scientific technologies, and innovations that saved or took the lives of many. In many
European countries two major types of transportation reigned over the newer types, these being
ships and trains. Both were used extensively and the usage of them would carry into World War I
,
changing tactics armies took and the speed of their movement as well as their survival. Ships
were used mainly for larger distances ( ie: America to Europe ) where Trains were only able to
carry smaller things along the front or from certain Capitals to the front itself. The usage of the
trains allowed for the movement of shells that were continually made in factories on the home
front, the shells could be run along from the Factories to the shelling

Self Perception
When we look at the sky the first thing we wish to see are the stars, those
amazing shinning objects everyone talks about, but not all see. Self concept and
perception work the same way. Through interpersonal communication we relate,
communicate and evolve with other people physically and emotionally and it s affected
by one s self concept, perception and emotion.
Self concept is a term used to refer to how someone thinks about or perceives
themselves. How we think about and evaluate ourselves and how aware we are of
ourselves as a concept to be. A more stable definition is, as Baumeister provides, the
individual s belief about himself or herself, including the person s attributes and who and
what the self is .

The simpler the message, the easier the
other person will get it. You can have a simple discussion by asking straight questions
to someone and having direct and concrete responses. When you have a hard time
discussing an issue that you not know exactly how to express, your recipient might
loose himself in the conversation. Like in any type of communication, there s a chance
that the intended meaning is lost. Specially, when people try to express their feelings
the meanings get wrongly perceived. A person might want to break up a relationship but
in a nice and mature way, so they try to smooth the situation and be sensitive about not
saying something dry that can hurt its partner. But, if it is too sensitive and too nice, the
meaning could get wrongly perceived and the recipient might think its just an issue they
will get over easily, when the point totally was not that.
Perception is someone s reality, it determines how they perceive information from
another person and how the perception of others is the product of how you view
yourself. Perception can be learned, physical or cultural depending on your
environment.
They type of learned perception is formed with someone s personality, from the
thoughts, ideas and beliefs that are taught. For example, when a child communicates
and transmits information with his parents, the parent s personality traits, beliefs and
ethics of life will reflect in the kid. He

Symbols In Romeo And Juliet
We all know the names Romeo and Juliet. A symbol of tragic lovers, but right now lets focus on
the character that is Romeo. In William Shakespeare s Romeo and Juliet, Shakespeare uses
dramatic irony, character foil, and monologue to define Romeo as a character. As I said before
almsot everyone knows Romeo loves Juliet, but in the beginning of the story he loved a girl
named Rosaline. Romeo was extremely depressed that she didn t love him back. We can see
some of this behavior here, This love that thou hast shown Doth add more greif to too much of
mine own. (Page 18 lines 188 189) The auidence already knows that Romeo will fall in love with
Juliet, making this dramatic irony. We can see that Romeo seems to be a bit dramatic, and falls in
love fairly easily and quickly. Also we are shown that he values his own wants because he is being
a downer around his friends, and only talks about Rosaline. This would be considered hedonism....

We can see his major differences between him and his friend Benvolio. Benvolio is a kind,

The Count of Monte Cristo held Danglars in prison under Vampa and forced Danglars to
purchase food at absurd prices. Since Danglars was the main instigator and root of Edmond s
suffering, he decided to deplete Danglars fortune. The reader can feel Edmond s conviction of
hate when he states, I m the man you betrayed and dishonored, the man whose fiancee you
prostituted, the man on whom you trod on the way to fortune, the man whose father you caused
to die of hunger... (Dumas 522). All Edmond Dantes wanted to accomplish to make Danglars

comparible to Faust when Mephistopheles states, In vain he will pray to slake his inner thirst,
/ And even he not sold himself to the devil/ He would be equally accursed... (Goethe 216 218).
Correspondingly, both characters stole the most important thing from their victim, Edmond took
Danglar s fortune while Mephistopheles siezed Faust s soul. The picture is a representation of
the bandit prison scene where Danglars is an inverted trapezoid and Edmond is a red half circle.

The Importance Of The Conversion Of Lower Energy Light
Upconversion is a term that characterizes the conversion of lower energy light, particularly in the
near infrared region, into higher energy light within the visible spectrum. This occurs through a
process in which the sequential absorption of multi photon near infrared light yields the emission of
lightthat is of shorter wavelength[1]. This process is represented in Figure 1, which shows the
emissions of light within the visible spectrumafter excitation of various dopant ions by near
infrared light[1]. The upconversion effect has been observed primarily in the rare earth metals of
the lanthanides as well as yttrium, and scandium; however, some transition metals and actinides can
also display this effect[2]. Lanthanide ions display special inner shell arrangements of 4fn 5d0 1,
which allow for unique energy levels and provide shielding from the outer shells[2]. Due to their
various f orbital configurations, lanthanide ions are able to display very sharp luminescence
emissions via intra 4f or 4f 4d transitions[2,3]. The importance of the lanthanide ions is evident in
several applications including applications in lasers, bioprobe applications, optical imaging, and
photodynamic therapy [2,3]. This is due to their fluorescent properties, which include: resistance to
photobleaching, monochromaticity, large Stokes shifts, narrow bandwidth, and long emission
lifetime[2,3]. The direct excitation of the lanthanide ions is not very effective because they are
limited by low

you should try cutting out the bottom of the cups and see if you can stand on them without

Tension is the state of being stretched tight. For example if you have a piece of paper and you
try to stretch it won t this is called tension. If you cut out the bottom of a cup the tension is gone.
If you try to replace the bottom of the paper cups with something else for example, sand you can
also see that the sand replaces the bottom of the cups. The sand replaces the base to make it even
stronger than it was before. The sand s replacing the tension which causes the cups to stretch back
out again and make this experiment a lot more interesting. Compression is the last thing going on
here in this experiment. Compression is thrust, load, stress, compressing, squeezing, crushing,
weight, and heaviness. Take the paper again and after you ve used tension with it let s use
compression. If you crush the paper into a ball. This is compression. Now compression is similar
to pressure in this project actually, pressure causes compression but they are a little bit different.

Trash to Treasure
The Pinterest world has changed the way we view trash. Things once tossed in the garbage now
hang on walls and adorn porches. Old milk cans, wooden pallets and chipped mason jars now have
a hundred new uses. These recycling trends that have been born this century don t end at making
living rooms more stylish, but extend to improving and saving lives. Technology is emerging to
harvest once discarded after birth and preserving it for research and treatment. Cord blood banking
is not only more ethical, but more efficient than its competitors and is therefore the future of stem
cell research.
Shortly after an egg is fertilized stem cells begin to form. These cells are programmed to form

A limited amount of stem cells can be extracted from after birth, but these few cells can mean a
longer or improved life for someone (Bergman). In addition, people believe that harvesting cord
blood cells steals the cells from the child. The umbilical cord is cut and clamped just like a
typical delivery (CariCord). Delayed clamping, in which the cord is left attached to drain the
blood back into the baby, still allows the afterbirth to be donated. The science behind cord blood
banking is still developing because these treatments have only been performed for a little over
ten years and the only way to overcome that is to move forward with research (Stem Cell). Cord
blood cells hold the potential of becoming brain and heart cells and combatting serious
neurological diseases. The science is young, but one out of every three hundred kids are plagued
with cerebral palsy and one of every sixty eight children battle autism (What It Is). The chance of

The purpose of this paper is to conduct a battle analysis of the Battle of Iwo Jima and present as
alternate outcome of events based upon employment or misuse of military resources. If Japan
was not a victim of its own success, they could have won the battle of Iwo Jima. By the time
America had sought to invade Iwo Jima and use it as a key operational location for attacks on the
Japanese mainland, Japan had already gained significant ground in Southwest Asia and the Pacific.
Japan s forces were over worked and too spread out throughout the region to be able to back up the

The Portrayal Of Illusion Vs. Reality

The Portrayal of Illusion VS. Reality in A Streetcar Named Desire Have you ever submerged
yourself into a word of illusion to escape from the cold hearted reality of the world? This theme
of escaping from reality and into illusions is explored throughout the play, A Streetcar Named
Desire by Tennessee Williams. What exactly is the difference between illusion and reality? An
illusion is a deceptive idea or belief whereas reality is the actual state in which the world actually
exists. In A Streetcar Named Desire, the characters seem to divulge into their own fantasy when
encountered with a harsh reality. This concept is explored through each character s desire in
indulging in illusions versus their reality. The concept of illusion versus reality is most
predominantly displayed in the main character of the novel, Blanche DuBois. The initial battle
between illusion and reality began in the beginning of the novel when Blanche moves from Belle
Reve to New Orleans to live with her sister, Stella Kowalski, and her sister s husband, Stanley
Kowalski. Before moving to New Orleans Blanche was described as being devastated by the loss
of her estate and the death of her husband, Allan, and to escape dealing with this reality, she slept
around with a lot of men. To escape dealing with this shady past, she moves to Stella s house and
begins an illusion and lies about her past. Blanche s initial illusions were concocted by love. When

Willy Loman Hallucinations
Literature has often been used to explain problems within society. This can be seen in Arthur
Miller s play Death of a Salesman. Arthur Miller s play was set in the late 1940 s in a post World
War II economy. Willy and Linda Loman and their two sons: Biff and Happy, live in Brooklyn,
New York and are the main characters. Death of a Salesmandiscusses the life of Willy and the
struggles he goes through everyday. Willy Loman is a suicidal man, whom searches for reasoning
within the world. In Arthur Miller s play Willy Loman often has hallucinations about life when he
was a young man. Along with his hallucinations, Willy is very paranoid, constantly feeling that life
is very unfair and that someone is out to get him. Some see these symptoms and believe that Willy
has a mental disorder. Within this time period mental illness was not to be spoken about or
acknowledged. Due to the hallucinations, the voices within Willy s head, and his suicidal thoughts
one may see Willy Loman as a schizophrenic. Many people whom have schizophrenia have

The Waste Disposal Of The Chesapeake Bay
As humanity continues to prosper agriculturally, industrially, and in population, companies, as well
as local communities, have obsessively used the Ocean to toss their waste without consequences.
The formation of dead zones has been intensified by the increase runoff of fertilizers and the
burning of fossil fuels. Enhanced primary production causes algaeto bloom at a constant rate
creating a layer near the surface. This layer acts as a roof to vegetation below resulting in a lack of
oxygenwhich organisms use to live. According to Robert Diaz and Rutger Rosenberg, Dead zones
have now been reported from more than 400 systems, affecting a total area of more than 245,000
square kilometers, and are probably a key stressor on marine ecosystems. Specifically, the
Chesapeake Bayhas been polluted to the point where areas have now been uninhabitable to marine
life. Although waste disposal is a difficult issue to solve, polluting bodies of water endangers the
marine life, environment, and health of organisms. While the Earth s surface is seventy percent
covered in water, countries are reliant on the Ocean s vegetation, marine life and resources. By
eliminating those factors from coastal countries, many communities will suffer economically and
culturally. Specifically, countries that catch, sell or eat seafood will have to exchange their lifestyle
to meet their need for food and money in order to survive. Ultimately, drinking water is not obtained
through salt water from oceans

Understand the Principles of Developing Positive...
3.1: Communication and professional relationships with children, young people and adults
1.1 I am going to use the role of a T.A for the purpose of explaining the importance of
communication and relationships simply for example purposes.
(A) Communication has always been the most important skill when socialising and building
relationships with people. When first meeting or approaching an individual, be it a child, young
person or adult, body language and facial expressions can form good vibes between individuals.
By bearing this in mind, a T.A can form a relaxed and comfortable atmosphere in which to work
upon and follow up with good verbal communication. On the flip side, cold and expressionless body
language could create an ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Using appropriate body language i.e. nodding, facial expressions and commenting on what the
individual has to say, and generally showing interest during the conversation, can reinforce
relationships by helping to make the person feel valued, listened to and respected.
Adapt your way of communication accordingly
(B) The T.A should ensure they communicate in a pleasant and clear manner in any situation. In
addition they should take into account whom they are communicating with and adapt their level of
communication accordingly. Naturally the use of language should be adapted appropriately when
conversing with adults or children. Choice of words can ensure children are not overwhelmed by
use of intimidating words they don t understand. The T.A may find it necessary to mentally assess
the individual in order to judge if the person needs to have instructions or conversation relayed more
carefully. Empathy and patience is highly important when communicating with particular
individuals who have might speech disorders or who are particularly vulnerable or sensitive people.
Having respect and consideration for individuals
Regardless of how you adapt to the level of communication to accommodate the needs of
individuals, each person should be treated equally and with respect. It may be that a person is of
different race, culture, religion, mental ability or have an obvious difficult background. This should

The Anger In A Room Of One s Own By Virginia Woolf
The Anger of a Feminist Anger is a complex concept that is difficult for many to explain and
manage, just as it is for Virginia Woolf in the text A Room of One s Own. Anger is defined as That
which pains or afflicts, or the passive feeling which it produces; trouble, affliction, vexation, sorrow,
yet this is far from concrete and does not contain the multiple aspects that anger brings to mind. It
does not provoke the emotionin the reader itself as Virginal Woolf does in A Room of One s Own.
She demonstrates her ragequite frequently in a multitude of ways in an effort to let her audience
understand her thoughts and reasons. In this particular text, Virginia Woolf investigates her anger at
the idea that many people consider women to be... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Virginia Woolf expresses her rage through her unflattering use of physical descriptions of the
professor, bringing her emotions into the physical world, creating a villain out of the professor,
forcing her audience to take her side. When Woolf s imagined speaker is reading in the library, she
begins to sketch the imaginary professor who had writing the book she was reading, titled The
Mental, Moral, and Physical Inferiority of the Female Sex. The speaker first describes this
professor, Professor von X, as not in my picture a man attractive to women, (Woolf 31). Because
this is the first way in which she describes him, it places a great weight on physical attributes. She
says women would not find him attractive, using his physical appearance to symbolize her opinion
of his ideals. Any women in the audience will be less likely to agree with his thoughts on
inferiority since they are first judging him on his described appearance, which is not particularly
endearing. This description also implies that men who think women inferior are less attractive to
women, discouraging the behavior in any male audience members. By degrading the sexist
professor, she

Satire In The Princess Bride By William Goldman
Satire Within The Princess Bride
In literature, satire is the use of irony, humour and exaggeration to critique and draw attention to
societal shortcomings with the hope of bringing on improvement. The Princess Bride, written by
William Goldman, uses satire to criticize rigid fairy tale conventions. Posing as a classic tale of
true love and high adventure , The Princess Bride portrays greatly exaggerated characters to mock
the common fairy tale archetypes. Similarly, it utilizes irony to diverge from the ordinary
storybook plotline. William Goldman s The Princess Bride is a satire that highlights the absurd
portrayals of which fairy tale characters and events and the confined framework they are built on.

These unexpected happenings destroy the unrealistic ideas within classical fairy tales making
The Princess Bride a better reflection of real life. Through Goldman s narration, he points out the
expectations one has for a fairy tale to follow a certain plotline. Near the end of the story, before
Westley dies in the Machine at the hands of Count Rugen, the narration interrupts the story with
young Goldman fighting with his father. The father does not want to continue the story, but due to
his son s persistence, he reluctantly explains that Westley is killed. Young Goldman is extremely
upset and begins crying as he can hardly believe that Westley, Buttercup s true love, dies. He
seems even more traumatized after learning that Prince Humperdinck, the villain of the story,
survives or wins (282). Young Goldman is clearly uncomfortable with the idea of the hero losing
to the villain and represents most readers who will also recognize the outcome as the opposite of
what one expected. These plot twists occur again at the end of the book. In the conclusion,
Buttercup, Westley, Inigo and Fezzik manage to escape Prince Humperdinck s army, astride four
white stallions and are fleeing the kingdom. However, instead of the expected happily ever after ,
the ending holds much uncertainty. The second last line reads, Inigo s wound

The Film The Lost Honor Of Katharina Blum
The German films The Lost Honor of Katharina Blum, directed by Dir. Volker Schlondorff and
Margarethe von Trotta in 1975 and The Marriage of Maria Braun, directed by Dir. Rainer Werner
Fassbinder in 1979 both display issues with gender equality. In The Lost Honor of Katharina
Blum, Katharina shares a night with a wanted man and she falls in love with him. She is harassed
by the police and the press when she tells them that she had no part in helping Ludwig Götten, the
wanted terrorist, escape. Katharina is an example of how women were victimized at this time by
establishments run by primarily men, like the police. In The Marriage of Maria Braun, Maria s
husband, Herman, is sent off to battle. After hearing the announced death of her husband, and
experiencing his arrival soon after, Herman is put into prison and Maria promises Herman a life
together once he is released. Against the genderroles present during this time period, Maria works
to attain wealth to fulfill her promise. Though each film presents it differently, both display set
gender roles which provide expectations and issues that Katharina and Maria effectively overcome.
Katharina stands firm, refusing to allow any of the men to control her or to break her through
victimization and harassment. And Maria adapts her femininity in order to exceed the social,
political and cultural expectations set for women. Men play significant roles in both films, they
have a major influence on Katharina and Maria, and they are

This essay argued, after the war on terror, there are several changes in conceptualizing Security .
Firstly, the concept of security become more complex and paradoxical in nature due to the
construction of concepts by the terrorist s strategy accompanied by globalization, and the
unanticipated insecurity caused by the US s use of military force. Secondly, despite the
paradox arisen from the use of military force, a new risk based regime has developed over the years

For instance, China has engaged in transfers of WMD to either counter the US or strike for
strategic and economic interest. Financial reasons are believed to triggering Chinese WMD transfer
while some decentralized firms may even have transferred WMD without the permission of the
central government. And despite a signatory to the Nuclear Non Proliferation Treaty, Missile
Technology Control Regime and others, it is remarkable China still provides WMD to other states
either directly or routed through a third country. Furthermore, Iran also signed the Biological and
Toxic Weapons Convention and the Chemical Weapons Convention in 1997. However, she was

considering the whole Asia region, it is possible to have accidental wars between WMD possessing

Analysis Of The Movie Fight Club
In the movie Fight Club we are introduced to an average, white collared, middle aged man who is
seemingly normal at first glance. However, it is clear that the narrator suffers from insomnia,
anxiety, and depression very early in the film. The narrator attempts to combat these symptoms in a
number of ways, however, the only way that he has found to be effective is by attending support
groups on a nightly basis.
The narrator soon creates an alter ego (though we do not know he is his alter ego until the end of
the film) named Tyler Durden. Durden is more attractive, has a better physique, and is overall more
confident than the narrator and Durden regularly takes control of the narrator without the narrator s
knowledge to carry out tasks that the narrator does not believe he has the power to accomplish.
This use of dissociation is a defense mechanism used by the narrator to remove himself from
situations that may produce anxiety. The narrator has many instances in which he is not able to
recollect things that happened that day or in previous days, such as having sexual relations with
Marla (the narrator envisions Tyler having sexual relations with Marla, while it is him having
sexual relations with Marla). However, it is difficult to reason through whether or not he is having
these memory lapses due to a true dissociative identity disorder (DID) or perhaps due to physical
trauma that was sustained through his fighting. Although the narrator is seen consuming an alcoholic

Analysis Of The s Of And The Quiet, Proper...
A prevalent theme throughout Dracula is that of a woman s role in society. The main female
protagonist, Mina, is a delicate balance between the strong and independent New Woman and the
quiet, proper Victorian woman that was customary in English society prior to the 1900s. She
embodies the kindness, sense of duty, and femininity of a Victorian woman, while tentatively
embracing the strength, bravery, and intelligence of New Women. Despite this slight reform, Mina
still desires to be seen a meek, righteous woman. In fact, all of the protagonists including Mina
view both Mina and the role she plays in the novel as minimal. The only man that grasps the
vitalness of Mina s contributions is not even a man at all. The point in the novel when Draculafirst
speaks to Mina in her bedroom, with Jonathan lying unconscious nearby, reveals much more than
the surface dialogue suggests. When historical context, close observation of word choice, and the
characters personal views are taken into account, Stoker expresses that though this is the first time
the audience is aware of any interaction between Count Draculaand Mina, Dracula displays a keen
understanding and borderline respect for Mina s mental capabilities that exceed that of any of her
male companions in the novel. In Mina s words, recorded by Seward, Dracula told her And so you,
like the others, would play your brains against mine. (Citing) Though Dracula conveyed the words
in a mocking tone, perhaps Stoker meant them

Stereotypes In Zootopia
Most people think of small animals, such as sheep, as meek and submissive due to their frequent
portrayal as innocent characters in children s stories and folklore; in these same stories,
antagonistic characters tend to be fiercer animals such as lions or wolves. However, the children
s movie Zootopia, in which all characters are mammals, shows that this is not always the case.
The characters in this film break the stereotypes against them by being different or the opposite of
what the audience expects based on their species or occupation within the film. For instance, Judy
Hopps solves the case on the missing mammals and why they went savage despite being a dumb

predators are going back to their primitive ways as hunters. She also admits that her plan was to
assume power over Zootopia by framing Mayor Lionheart and become mayor. Judy tells her it
would not work, to which Bellwether replies, Fear always works. And I ll dart every predator in
Zootopia to keep it that way (Zootopia). As an assistant mayor and a mayor, Bellwether seemed

Kingdom of God
What exactly is the kingdom of God? How does one recognize the kingdom? Are you in the
kingdom of God? So often, people search for the evidence of the kingdom of God rather than
simply identifying it. In the present day, the stress is evasively put on works and actions rather
than a personal relationship with God. Too many people fall into the trap of participating in as
many activities as they can, living to have their good deeds noticed by others; however, the key
point is entirely missed. It is the innermost intimate part of a person that divulges the power of an
individual s life, not the actions. Jesusmakes this clear in the book of Luke when he states, The

This passage contrasts the present and the future magnificence of the kingdom, which is constantly
growing.
The kingdom of God includes everyone: the poor, the gentiles, the outcast, the oppressed, the
women, Samaritans, tax collectors, the sick, and the sinners. Jesus states that the blind receive
their sight, the lame walk, the lepers are cleansed, the deaf hear, the dead are raised, the poor
have good news brought to them (Lk. 7:22). If you take this out of the context of which it was
written and it may not seem like a very big deal that some of these groups of people would be
included in the kingdom of God, but in reality, Jesus caused a lot of controversy through
focusing on these neglected and oppressed people. The possession of illnesses and sin created a
greater sense of desperation within the people, this allowed more room for grace to abound in
their lives and explains the reason why miracles took place in their lives more often than the rich
and prestigious upper class. A significant aspect of Jesus teaching was setting people free from sin
and giving them dominion over evil (Drane 149). Jesus constantly breaks down social barriers and
places heavy emphasis on going against the social boundaries that separate the people.
Jesus completely redefines the role of Jewish women, which Luke draws special attention to this
throughout his book. In the Bible, women were of little to no value. They were

When we think of the word dollhouse we think of synonyms like innocence and playful. In
Melanie Martinez s music video she captures the opposite; in Dollhouse Martinez s demonstrates
the corruption social norms and gender roles can have on a family. Martinez shows us that
anyone can be affected by it, we just have to spot the signs before it gets out of hand. The first
thing you notice in the music video is a dollhouse. The dollhouse is a two story furnished home
with rooms to accommodate all the family members which consist of a father, mother, son and
daughter. Already we can tell that the family belongs in a high social class because of the look
of the house but to reassure the audience the director introduces the family wearing high class
attire. The father wears a tailored black suit with glasses and a tie, the mother is in a light pink
suit with heels and a red derby hat on, the son wears a button down white dress shirt with
suspenders and black slacks while the girl wears a baby pink dress and a bow. Not only does the
choice of clothing reveal the social status of the family it reveals the genderroles each member
plays. The women are expected to wear the pink attire while the men are expected to wear the
business work attire. It is a social norm for them, which can also tie into the family role each...

As a typical family social norm the father is a working man who is gone the majority of the
video because he is at work, the mother is at home cleaning the kitchen and making food while
the two children complete their daily tasks in life which is studying for the boy and playing with
the dolls for the girl. This is a regular occurrence for them since the characters are not fazed by the
work each person is doing but what is concerning is the hidden actions each person does that the
others do not see. From this we can concluded the hidden deviance each family member

Improving Current System Of Police Reporting 5.5 Improvement to Current Situation According to five factors that have been proposed, we had suggested some recommendations to improve current system of police reporting in Malaysia which is the Police Reporting System (PRS) to ensure that the function of the PRS will definitely helped to record and transfer the report in a better and easier way. 5.5.1 Role As mentioned above, role is very important factor in police reporting in order to make the report, received statement from complainant, and most important thing is to transfer the report to another police officers. As a recommendation, police organization in Malaysia can organize or provide a training program for police personnel on duty at the enquiry office about the use and maintenance of the PRS so that they can write the report quickly and also they know the function for every single menu and button of the PRS. Plus, if the PRS are breakdown, the police personnel will know how to fix the problem. Thus, it wills not wasting time to wait for the technical team to fix the problem and also they no need to write the report manually in POL 55 and re type it once the PRS was fixed. Besides that, enquiry officer also are encourage to more than one language. • 3. One of Ours by Willa Cather Margaret Elliot is beautiful, talented, critical, unsatisfied, tired of the world at twenty four (Great Short Works, 8). Engaged to a man she has no feelings for, life feels bleak and without purpose. She feels true love once with Eric, but just for a moment. For her whole life, Margaret had searched the faces of men for the look that lay in his eyes. She knew that look had never shone before, would never shine for her on earth again, that such lovecomes to one only in dreams or in impossible places like this, unattainable always. This was Love s self, and in a moment it would die (Great Short Works, 29). For Willa Catherthis is how love exists. Happy relationships are plentiful, but the enchanted, all encapsulating love of dreams only exists in glances. For Eric this glance is enough. He does not regret his decision or the damnation he is sure it will cause. For him a day shall be as a thousand years, and a thousand years as a day as his love lives on. In most cases, however love is not enough. Both Margaret and Claude, the protagonist of Cather s novel One of Ours feel this shimmer of love, but in the end must search for meaning elsewhere. Set in a small Nebraska farm town, One of Ours opens several years before the start of the First World War. Claude is unsatisfied with his simple life in the fields, and possesses an idealistic, romantic outlook that propels him to search for meaning on a much different field in Europe. For Claude, who wants nothing more than ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 4. Analysis Of Caprice No. 24 By Niccolo Paganini Caprice No. 24 By Niccolo Paganini NicolГі Paganini was a famous Italian violinist born in the midst of The Enlightenment. He wrote a set of 24 Capriccis for the violin in the early 1800s, the most famous of which is the final caprice, simply referred to as Caprice No. 24 . The final caprice exemplifies Paganini s bold style and technique, which was a natural byproduct of the musical liberation that took place during the Enlightenment. His work would inspire musicians for centuries to come. I chose Caprice No. 24 largely because it is one of the most well known piece by Paganini. In present day, the famous neoclassical guitar player, Yngwie Malmsteen a virtuoso in his own right and a musician that I greatly admire has cited Paganini as a source of inspiration for his music. I wanted to investigate this claim. I had heard small portions of Caprice No. 24 over the years, but my first exposure to the piece in its entirety was through a studio recorded, 2013 performance by violinist David Garrett, accompanied by an orchestra. My first impression was that I was listening to a rock star. I had a notable physical reaction to the music; I felt a rush of adrenaline and my heart rate increased. The music was fast paced and intense undoubtedly physically and mentally demanding on Garrett. I am a pianist myself, and I felt a sense of empathy. I was exhausted on his behalf by simply hearing his talented performance. The music would slow down in some parts, only to pick back up with even more intensity and speed. The music aroused a familiar sense of pressure, such as the pressure to complete a difficult yet important task in a short period of time. The pressure and difficulty build to near unbearable proportions until the work is finally finished, and dissipates into the euphoria of accomplishment. If that scenario had a theme song, it could be Paganini s Caprice No. 24 . The music was passionate, chaotic, and ultimately satisfying. I felt that I had witnessed true mastery of the art of the violin in both Paganini s written work and Garrett s performance. Caprice No. 24 is a violin solo written in the key of A minor, lending a dark and sinister quality to the melody. The word caprice is an Italian word which ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

All hacker does not have a notorious reason for trying to access a network. Many hackers are paid by a company to find its network vulnerabilities. These hackers are known as white hackers or pen testers. The most popular way to hack into a computer is with a certain attack named brute force. The brute force attack is one of the most popular cracking methods., it is not just for password cracking. Brute force attacks can also be used to discover hidden pages and content in a web application. This attack is basically hit and miss until you succeed. This attack sometimes takes longer, but its success rate is higher. The success of the attack depends on various factors. Factors that affect most are password length and combination of characters, letters and special characters. It does not make brute force impossible but it makes brute force difficult. It will take a longer time to reach the password by brute forcing. Almost all hash cracking algorithms use the brute force to hit and try. This attack is best when you have offline access to data. Brute force password cracking is also very important in computer security. It is used to check the weak passwords used in the system, network or application. • 6. Changes In Aggregate Demand And Short-Run Aggregate Supply 1. Explain how the following changes in aggregate demand or short run aggregate supply, other things held unchanged, are likely to affect the level of total output and the price level in the short run. The level of total output and the price level are determined in the short run by the intersection of the short run aggregate supply curve and the aggregate demand curve (Rittenberg and Tregarthen, 2012). Therefore, if you know how the changes in aggregate demand or short run aggregate supply will shift their respective curves, you can explain how the changes will affect the level of total output and the price level. An increase in aggregate demand An increase in aggregate demand will shift the aggregate demand curve to the right. This will cause the aggregate demand curve to intersect the short run aggregate supply curve at a point above and to the right of the previous equilibrium point. This means that total output and price levels will rise. In the graph below, the shift in the aggregate demand curve to the right was caused by an increase in government purchases, this led to a new intersection or equilibrium point from P1 to P2. The new intersecting point is at a higher price level and higher output level. Source: (Rittenberg and Tregarthen, 2012) A decrease in aggregate demand A decrease in aggregate demand would have the opposite effect to the increase in aggregate demand that was discussed in the above answer. With a decrease in aggregate demand, the ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Williams, in conjunction with Pearson Assessment, the Expressive Vocabulary Test, Second Edition (EVT 2) is considered an individually administered, norm referenced vocabulary assessment (Williams, 2007). The EVT 2 is the second edition of the original Expressive Vocabulary Test by Kathleen T. Williams. As the updated version of the original Expressive Vocabulary Test, the EVT 2 includes new features such as a second, parallel form for examiners to test and retest to monitor growth and evaluate response to intervention, full color illustrations that are larger than the illustrations of its predecessor, additional labeling items for a smoother transition into the synonym task and provide a broader sampling of vocabulary for older examinees (Williams, 2007). According to the publisher, the EVT 2 is available for various settings, however, currently it is only available in the English language (Williams, 2007). In order to accommodate for those who may have special needs (i.e., the hearing or vision impaired), the EVT 2 manual provides suggested adaptations that will allow that population to participate in the assessment. In order to access the complete EVT 2 kit for assessment purposes, it will cost the purchaser USD $419 if they choose to purchase through the Pearson publishing company. • 8. Hafu Essay Hafu is the term used in Japan to describe children of half Japanese descent. This term is derived from the English Half which, when used in the Japanese language, indicates that a person is only half of the Japanese culture. According to Hafu Japanese the term Hafu originated in the 1970s and is now the most commonly used label for half Japanese children (Hafu Japanese, 2010). Being called half might seem like an insult to some people, in Japan it is not really meant this way. In a YouTube video Japanese got asked about what image they have about Hafu, most of them answered that they wanted to be a Hafu as well. Almost all the answers to this question were positive; they are pretty, they have long legs, they have the best of both worlds. The majority of the Japanese seem to have positive views on what it is like to be a Hafu, but they might not have a proper understanding of what it is like to be Hafu. So despite the positive image the Japanese have, life in Japan is not easy for people with mixed roots (Views from the street on Hafu, 2010). Japan is a very homogenous country. Research from 2013 shows that foreigners make up 1.5% of the populace of Japan (Japan Times, 2013). While the number might have risen quite a bit now in 2015, the discrimination against ... • 9. United Nations Security Council Resolution Abstract This paper evaluates the United Nations Security Council Resolution (UNSCR) 242 with regard to its historical background, interpretations, aftermath, present status, and legal ramifications. UNSCR 242 was drafted after the Six Day war between Israel and Egypt, Jordan, and Syria. This resolution is the bedrock of further treaties that were signed. According to the resolution, Israel is supposed to return the captured land, however, due to a conflict of interpretation, there has been several arguments on when and how the land should be returned. The merits of this resolution and the prospective solutions offered are still debated to this day. The treaties and declarations following UNSCR 242, arguably, compel us to believe that the... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Once the interpretation, historical background, status and ramifications have been discussed, the fog clears away to understand that the UN Security Council Resolution is a failure to achieve peace, unless both Israel and the Palestinian authorities are willing to compromise. Discussion History: The historical background to the war can be traced to the actions of the Egyptian president Nasser. Nasser had asked UN Secretary General U Thant to remove the UN peace keeping force from Egypt . When the UN had withdrawn its forces there had been three developments that took place. The first development was a rising tide of guerrilla activity against Israeli targets by Palestinians . After what was called the Second Industrial Revolution most major countries started to create new technologies that in the end would pave the way for World War I. These technologies ranged from the most used everyday things all the way up to specific types of weaponry to be used in specific scenarios along the trenches. Most of these technologies of war, developed from common civilian or household items, these could only result in better use in war. These machines of war are so vast and expansive in type, but they are all technologies that would have needed to have been used to bring the war to a close. Not only were machines a large part but so was Scientific technologies, and innovations that saved or took the lives of many. In many European countries two major types of transportation reigned over the newer types, these being ships and trains. Both were used extensively and the usage of them would carry into World War I , changing tactics armies took and the speed of their movement as well as their survival. Ships were used mainly for larger distances ( ie: America to Europe ) where Trains were only able to carry smaller things along the front or from certain Capitals to the front itself. • 19. The Importance Of The Conversion Of Lower Energy Light Upconversion is a term that characterizes the conversion of lower energy light, particularly in the near infrared region, into higher energy light within the visible spectrum. This occurs through a process in which the sequential absorption of multi photon near infrared light yields the emission of lightthat is of shorter wavelength[1]. This process is represented in Figure 1, which shows the emissions of light within the visible spectrumafter excitation of various dopant ions by near infrared light[1]. The upconversion effect has been observed primarily in the rare earth metals of the lanthanides as well as yttrium, and scandium; however, some transition metals and actinides can also display this effect[2]. Lanthanide ions display special inner shell arrangements of 4fn 5d0 1, which allow for unique energy levels and provide shielding from the outer shells[2]. Due to their various f orbital configurations, lanthanide ions are able to display very sharp luminescence emissions via intra 4f or 4f 4d transitions[2,3]. The importance of the lanthanide ions is evident in several applications including applications in lasers, bioprobe applications, optical imaging, and photodynamic therapy [2,3]. This is due to their fluorescent properties, which include: resistance to photobleaching, monochromaticity, large Stokes shifts, narrow bandwidth, and long emission lifetime[2,3]. This theme of escaping from reality and into illusions is explored throughout the play, A Streetcar Named Desire by Tennessee Williams. What exactly is the difference between illusion and reality? An illusion is a deceptive idea or belief whereas reality is the actual state in which the world actually exists. In A Streetcar Named Desire, the characters seem to divulge into their own fantasy when encountered with a harsh reality. This concept is explored through each character s desire in indulging in illusions versus their reality. The concept of illusion versus reality is most predominantly displayed in the main character of the novel, Blanche DuBois. The initial battle between illusion and reality began in the beginning of the novel when Blanche moves from Belle Reve to New Orleans to live with her sister, Stella Kowalski, and her sister s husband, Stanley Kowalski. The Waste Disposal Of The Chesapeake Bay As humanity continues to prosper agriculturally, industrially, and in population, companies, as well as local communities, have obsessively used the Ocean to toss their waste without consequences. The formation of dead zones has been intensified by the increase runoff of fertilizers and the burning of fossil fuels. Enhanced primary production causes algaeto bloom at a constant rate creating a layer near the surface. This layer acts as a roof to vegetation below resulting in a lack of oxygenwhich organisms use to live. According to Robert Diaz and Rutger Rosenberg, Dead zones have now been reported from more than 400 systems, affecting a total area of more than 245,000 square kilometers, and are probably a key stressor on marine ecosystems. Specifically, the Chesapeake Bayhas been polluted to the point where areas have now been uninhabitable to marine life. Although waste disposal is a difficult issue to solve, polluting bodies of water endangers the marine life, environment, and health of organisms. While the Earth s surface is seventy percent covered in water, countries are reliant on the Ocean s vegetation, marine life and resources. • 32. The Anger In A Room Of One s Own By Virginia Woolf The Anger of a Feminist Anger is a complex concept that is difficult for many to explain and manage, just as it is for Virginia Woolf in the text A Room of One s Own. Anger is defined as That which pains or afflicts, or the passive feeling which it produces; trouble, affliction, vexation, sorrow, yet this is far from concrete and does not contain the multiple aspects that anger brings to mind. It does not provoke the emotionin the reader itself as Virginal Woolf does in A Room of One s Own. She demonstrates her ragequite frequently in a multitude of ways in an effort to let her audience understand her thoughts and reasons. In this particular text, Virginia Woolf investigates her anger at the idea that many people consider women to be... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Virginia Woolf expresses her rage through her unflattering use of physical descriptions of the professor, bringing her emotions into the physical world, creating a villain out of the professor, forcing her audience to take her side. When Woolf s imagined speaker is reading in the library, she begins to sketch the imaginary professor who had writing the book she was reading, titled The Mental, Moral, and Physical Inferiority of the Female Sex. The speaker first describes this professor, Professor von X, as not in my picture a man attractive to women, (Woolf 31). Because this is the first way in which she describes him, it places a great weight on physical attributes. She says women would not find him attractive, using his physical appearance to symbolize her opinion of his ideals. Any women in the audience will be less likely to agree with his thoughts on inferiority since they are first judging him on his described appearance, which is not particularly endearing. This description also implies that men who think women inferior are less attractive to women, discouraging the behavior in any male audience members. By degrading the sexist professor, she ... • 33. Satire In The Princess Bride By William Goldman Satire Within The Princess Bride In literature, satire is the use of irony, humour and exaggeration to critique and draw attention to societal shortcomings with the hope of bringing on improvement. The Princess Bride, written by William Goldman, uses satire to criticize rigid fairy tale conventions. Posing as a classic tale of true love and high adventure , The Princess Bride portrays greatly exaggerated characters to mock the common fairy tale archetypes. Similarly, it utilizes irony to diverge from the ordinary storybook plotline. William Goldman s The Princess Bride is a satire that highlights the absurd portrayals of which fairy tale characters and events and the confined framework they are built on. These unexpected happenings destroy the unrealistic ideas within classical fairy tales making The Princess Bride a better reflection of real life. Through Goldman s narration, he points out the expectations one has for a fairy tale to follow a certain plotline. Near the end of the story, before Westley dies in the Machine at the hands of Count Rugen, the narration interrupts the story with young Goldman fighting with his father. The father does not want to continue the story, but due to his son s persistence, he reluctantly explains that Westley is killed. Young Goldman is extremely upset and begins crying as he can hardly believe that Westley, Buttercup s true love, dies. He seems even more traumatized after learning that Prince Humperdinck, the villain of the story, survives or wins (282). Young Goldman is clearly uncomfortable with the idea of the hero losing to the villain and represents most readers who will also recognize the outcome as the opposite of what one expected. These plot twists occur again at the end of the book. In the conclusion, Buttercup, Westley, Inigo and Fezzik manage to escape Prince Humperdinck s army, astride four white stallions and are fleeing the kingdom. However, instead of the expected happily ever after , the ending holds much uncertainty. The second last line reads, Inigo s wound ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Volker Schlondorff and Margarethe von Trotta in 1975 and The Marriage of Maria Braun, directed by Dir. Rainer Werner Fassbinder in 1979 both display issues with gender equality. In The Lost Honor of Katharina Blum, Katharina shares a night with a wanted man and she falls in love with him. She is harassed by the police and the press when she tells them that she had no part in helping Ludwig GГ¶tten, the wanted terrorist, escape. Katharina is an example of how women were victimized at this time by establishments run by primarily men, like the police. In The Marriage of Maria Braun, Maria s husband, Herman, is sent off to battle. After hearing the announced death of her husband, and experiencing his arrival soon after, Herman is put into prison and Maria promises Herman a life together once he is released. Against the genderroles present during this time period, Maria works to attain wealth to fulfill her promise. Though each film presents it differently, both display set gender roles which provide expectations and issues that Katharina and Maria effectively overcome. Katharina stands firm, refusing to allow any of the men to control her or to break her through victimization and harassment. And Maria adapts her femininity in order to exceed the social, political and cultural expectations set for women. Security and Internaional Regimes Question one The concept of security and international regimes in regulating WMDs Introduction This essay argued, after the war on terror, there are several changes in conceptualizing Security . Firstly, the concept of security become more complex and paradoxical in nature due to the construction of concepts by the terrorist s strategy accompanied by globalization, and the unanticipated insecurity caused by the US s use of military force. Secondly, despite the paradox arisen from the use of military force, a new risk based regime has developed over the years of war on terror, broadening the notion of risk in the idea of security. • 37. Analysis Of The Movie Fight Club In the movie Fight Club we are introduced to an average, white collared, middle aged man who is seemingly normal at first glance. However, it is clear that the narrator suffers from insomnia, anxiety, and depression very early in the film. The narrator attempts to combat these symptoms in a number of ways, however, the only way that he has found to be effective is by attending support groups on a nightly basis. The narrator soon creates an alter ego (though we do not know he is his alter ego until the end of the film) named Tyler Durden. Durden is more attractive, has a better physique, and is overall more confident than the narrator and Durden regularly takes control of the narrator without the narrator s knowledge to carry out tasks that the narrator does not believe he has the power to accomplish. This use of dissociation is a defense mechanism used by the narrator to remove himself from situations that may produce anxiety. The narrator has many instances in which he is not able to recollect things that happened that day or in previous days, such as having sexual relations with Marla (the narrator envisions Tyler having sexual relations with Marla, while it is him having sexual relations with Marla). However, it is difficult to reason through whether or not he is having these memory lapses due to a true dissociative identity disorder (DID) or perhaps due to physical trauma that was sustained through his fighting. • 39. Analysis Of The s Of And The Quiet, Proper... A prevalent theme throughout Dracula is that of a woman s role in society. The main female protagonist, Mina, is a delicate balance between the strong and independent New Woman and the quiet, proper Victorian woman that was customary in English society prior to the 1900s. She embodies the kindness, sense of duty, and femininity of a Victorian woman, while tentatively embracing the strength, bravery, and intelligence of New Women. Despite this slight reform, Mina still desires to be seen a meek, righteous woman. In fact, all of the protagonists including Mina view both Mina and the role she plays in the novel as minimal. The only man that grasps the vitalness of Mina s contributions is not even a man at all. The point in the novel when Draculafirst speaks to Mina in her bedroom, with Jonathan lying unconscious nearby, reveals much more than the surface dialogue suggests. When historical context, close observation of word choice, and the characters personal views are taken into account, Stoker expresses that though this is the first time the audience is aware of any interaction between Count Draculaand Mina, Dracula displays a keen understanding and borderline respect for Mina s mental capabilities that exceed that of any of her male companions in the novel. In Mina s words, recorded by Seward, Dracula told her And so you, like the others, would play your brains against mine. • 40. Stereotypes In Zootopia Most people think of small animals, such as sheep, as meek and submissive due to their frequent portrayal as innocent characters in children s stories and folklore; in these same stories, antagonistic characters tend to be fiercer animals such as lions or wolves. However, the children s movie Zootopia, in which all characters are mammals, shows that this is not always the case. The characters in this film break the stereotypes against them by being different or the opposite of what the audience expects based on their species or occupation within the film. For instance, Judy Hopps solves the case on the missing mammals and why they went savage despite being a dumb bunny , and Nick Wilde turns from a sly con artist to the first fox cop. This... She also admits that her plan was to assume power over Zootopia by framing Mayor Lionheart and become mayor. Judy tells her it would not work, to which Bellwether replies, Fear always works. And I ll dart every predator in Zootopia to keep it that way (Zootopia). As an assistant mayor and a mayor, Bellwether seemed to have worked purely on good intentions, such as when she had helped Judy and Nick find where Manchas went on the traffic cameras, or when she tried to make Judy the face of the Zootopia police force as a heroic symbol for the scared public. • 41. Kingdom of God What exactly is the kingdom of God? How does one recognize the kingdom? Are you in the kingdom of God? So often, people search for the evidence of the kingdom of God rather than simply identifying it. In the present day, the stress is evasively put on works and actions rather than a personal relationship with God. Too many people fall into the trap of participating in as many activities as they can, living to have their good deeds noticed by others; however, the key point is entirely missed. It is the innermost intimate part of a person that divulges the power of an individual s life, not the actions. Jesusmakes this clear in the book of Luke when he states, The kingdom of Godis not coming with things that can be observed; nor will... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... This passage contrasts the present and the future magnificence of the kingdom, which is constantly growing. The kingdom of God includes everyone: the poor, the gentiles, the outcast, the oppressed, the women, Samaritans, tax collectors, the sick, and the sinners. Jesus states that the blind receive their sight, the lame walk, the lepers are cleansed, the deaf hear, the dead are raised, the poor have good news brought to them (Lk. 7:22). If you take this out of the context of which it was written and it may not seem like a very big deal that some of these groups of people would be included in the kingdom of God, but in reality, Jesus caused a lot of controversy through focusing on these neglected and oppressed people. The possession of illnesses and sin created a greater sense of desperation within the people, this allowed more room for grace to abound in their lives and explains the reason why miracles took place in their lives more often than the rich and prestigious upper class. A significant aspect of Jesus teaching was setting people free from sin and giving them dominion over evil (Drane 149). Jesus constantly breaks down social barriers and places heavy emphasis on going against the social boundaries that separate the people. Jesus completely redefines the role of Jewish women, which Luke draws special attention to this throughout his book. In the Bible, women were of little to no value. They were ...
