Q1 a) In the simple OLS regression estimation it is not possible that all actual independent Yi values
lie above the estimated regression line. This is because OLS minimizes SUM ê2 , the residual , ê, is
the difference between the actual Yi and the predicted Yi and has zero mean. In other words, OLS
calculates the slope coefficient so that the difference between the predicted Yi and actual Yi is
minimized.
The OLS estimates of the βs: Are unbiased the βs are centred around the true population values of βs
Have minimum variance the distribution of the β estimates around the true βs are as tight as possible

The closer that R2 is to 1, the better the fit meaning the group of independent variable could explain
better what happens to the dependent variable. R2 may not be the best estimate at times because if we
add another independent variable to the model the R2 would increase but it does not say necessary the
model becomes better. Therefore some would prefer to look at the adjusted R2 as it would only
increase if the variable used are relevant to the model. Addition of independent variable to the model
would not result in an increase in adjusted R2 if the variables does not improve the model.
We can then look at the T Statistics to see how individual variable can explain the dependent variable,
by doing a T test comparing it with the Critical value T. By doing a 10%,5% or 1% test.
We could also look at the model as a whole by looking at the F Statistics and doing a F test.
With Eviews regression we can simply look at the P Values to see at which level of confidence we can
reject the Hypothesis, From the above 3models, it seems that R2 is highest in model 3, and the
adjusted R2 is also the highest in the model which tells us that the independent variable are better in
explaining the dependent variable. Model 3 is a better regression model. Income per person is a better
independent variable rather than income and population as a variable. Again this goes in line with
economic theory, as income per person increases it would result increase

Increasing Vehicle Outsourcing ( % Of Car Value ) Essay
In a finished product, out of most of the industries only one particular company, provide a very little
amount of the total value. Hence to improve the process within the company lean techniques are used
so that the total impact will not be high when it is applied to a broader supply chain. Figure 1.
Increasing vehicle outsourcing (% of car value). The above fig represents the birth place of lean,
which is an automotive industry and it shows the trend towards outsource and vehicle s total value.
And, it represents the trend of the three European makers accordingly. Lean techniques have shown a
positive trend within the companies and in broader supply chain. To understand across a broader chain
supply, the three principles namely pull, level loaded work and synchronization helps understanding
the interaction between the suppliers and customers or within a company. The trend of implementing
lean technology has grown into a broader spectrum. The Toyota production the TPS were applied

aim was to improve the quality, control over effective process. In 1990 s, lean supply chain was
extended to a wider enterprise which included subsidiaries, contractors of third party, distributors. In

James Galvin s On The Sadness Of Wedding Dresses
Gorgeous beading, glittering sequins, and pearly white are some of the words brides use to describe
their wedding dresses. Once weddings are over, brides normally take every precaution to preserve this
most expensive, treasured, and prized item. Even after years of marriage, wives fondly recall the hours
spent searching for the perfect dress and playfully ponder whether the beauty still fits. However, in
contrast to the typical feelings associated with a bride s wedding dress, a close reading of James
Galvin s poem On the Sadness of Wedding Dresses offers a unique perspective of worn wedding
dresses.
Upon initial reading, the poem s title, genre, and speaker offer a unique perspective on a normally
exciting aspect of weddings: the dress. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The word sadness immediately stands out in the title indicating opposite feelings normally associated
with wedding dresses. To continue, the words sad story are repeated in lines 27 and 28 (Galvin).
Galvin also repeats the word closet in line 4, 11, 14, 20, and 29; alone and forgotten in the darkness of
a closet emphasizes the unique perspective of abandonment as opposed to a treasured item. From
there, Galvin repetitively makes additional word choices that emphasize the sad, lonely, and
abandoned feelings used wedding dresses experience. Galvin makes word choices such as starless,
hopeless, darkness, hollow, dump, gone, and disappear. These words all connotate a dark, lonely, and
abandoned feeling. Moreover, Galvin incorporates the words yellow, smoke, and flames. Packed away
wedding dresses turn an ugly yellow while the lucky wedding dresses go up in smoke and flames;
neither scenario are connected to the traditional view of a keepsake. To further the unique tone Galvin
associates with wedding dresses, he integrates words such as weeping, longing, and waiting. The
connotation of Galvin s word choices elicit a deep yearning for a better outcome that will
unfortunately never come for his abandoned wedding

Review Of Truman Capote s In Cold Blood
The novel In Cold Blood written by Truman Capote. The novel tells the true story of the murder of the
Clutter family in Kansas, in 1959. CliffNotes, archives The book is written as if it were a novel,
complete with dialog, and is what Truman Capote referred to as New Journalism the nonfiction novel.
In Cold Blood was first published in four parts of The New Yorker. Capote then released the novel in
1965, after six years of hard work and dedication to the novel. In Cold Blood was Capote s last novel.
He read about the crime in a magazine and began his research in Kansas. The themes Capote worked
into his novel were well laid out perfectly and this novel was his biggest accomplishments.

The actual story behind this novel is about how much work he put into it and the time he spent on it.
The experience took a huge toll on him, physically and mentally. A few years after the novel was
published, he started to pop pills and go downhill. Though this novel was a bestseller, everything
comes with a cost. Capote used suspense to tie the novel together and to leave everyone wondering
what would be in the next chapter. He portrayed Dick and Perry as point blank serial killers. The way
he had explained each death of the people in the Clutter s family was horrific. In Cold Blood was the
best and worst thing to ever happen to Capote.
Throughout America many murders are committed every single day. Murderers tend to lack remorse
for people which can be traced back to them having physiological issues. In Cold Blood by Truman
Capote is a prime example of this disastrous crime. The Clutter family was slaughtered by Dick
Hickock and Perry Smith in Holcomb, Kansas. Literary Reference Center archives A cinematic
method is particularly noticeable in the earlier part of the work, where Capote cuts back and forth
between the murderers and the victims as the knot tightens and their paths

Effect Of Online Social Media On Newsroom Operations Essay
EFFECT OF ONLINE SOCIAL MEDIA ON NEWSROOM OPERATIONS IN BROADCASTING
STATIONS IN KENYA: A CASE STUDY OF KENYA BROADCASTING CORPORATION
TEROI FELIX KBET
IS/1233/14
CHAPTER ONE
INTRODUCTION
Technology has always been at the forefront of newsgathering and the journalistic process. The last
century has seen visual, audio and digital innovations contributing greatly to changing the way
journalists think about and engage in their work. Yet these technologies have not by themselves
redefined what it means to be a journalist, in the professional sense Lasorsa, Lewis Holton (2011).
Social media is affecting the way a local television news station presents information to its audience
and how its audience in turn receives information. The adoption of social media, in particular Twitter
and Facebook have made a significant impact on how people choose to receive their news and
information
The widespread adoption of social media and increased online activity by media organisations has led
to the adoption of new ways of processing, collecting and dissemination news worldwide.
1.2 History of Kenya broadcasting corporation.
The Kenya Broadcasting Corporation (KBC) was first established in 1928 when the British were
bringing ranchers to settle their new colony, because they needed a format to receive news from home.
At that time, it was solely a British radio station. The Kenya Broadcasting Corporation has gone
through many changes to become the media giant that it is

Buencamino V. Noftsinger Case Study
In Arizona, the decision of the court regarding relocation of a minor child often requires the
application of Arizona Revised Statute 25 408 (I). The application of this statute depends upon two
factors being in place: a written agreement or court order regarding custody of the minor child, and
both parents currently residing in the state of Arizona. In Buencamino v. Noftsinger, the Arizona Court
of Appeals turned to the law to evaluate the trial court s ruling. A Brief History of the Case:
Buencamino v. Noftsinger: The Father (Appellant) and Mother (Appellee) had a child together in
2004. The parents were never married. The child lived at times with each of the parents separately, and

appointment and I had to wake up extra early to meet them at NSC, but they cancelled. I asked my
supervisor if we could do reminders calls the day before, but she told me that NSC wants them to be
independent and reminding them the day before will make them dependent on NSC. I honestly just
want them to make their appointments or call NSC ahead of time if they are not going to make it

Children at home and abroad
There are a growing number of concerns in the nation. All of which are focused so heavily on by news
and media outlets that even the most serious of issues are overlooked. One of these topics is child
prostitution, and its an epidemic that s propelled by inadequate orphanages, ineffective laws, and a
demand in commercial sex. Even places like the UK and America are no strangers to the underage sex
industry.
In London there s a dark alley along Edgeware road where the city likes to turn a blind eye. An
average night there will cost you from six to fifteen pounds. Men make up a large portion of the
patrons but the business there is no stranger to the opposite sex. Children walk about and the only
distinction between them and regular orphans is the following word; Business?
There s no secret to child prostitution, it s been around since perverts first decided thirteen was a ripe
age for womanhood. The lines get a little hazy trying to figure out when the council of child molesters
said let s go younger , but the general idea is that it happened sometime after society looked into age
of consent . For most it s a thick brush stroke, clear and unmistakable, painted in the pages of the law,
purposed to protect the innocent. For the council men it s a barrier they re compelled to penetrate, an
innocence that needs to be reaped.
How do children find themselves in that situation to begin with? Run aways and

Legal Submission of Case in Ireland
Essentially, the case in question is one of criminal liability. However, the issues that must be addressed
are that involving the law of evidence in Ireland. There are many legal issues at play throughout this
case that must be addressed in detail. This submission will outline the law, as it stands to date, in
relation to child witnesses, the presumption of innocence, corroboration and witness competence. It is
essential that the law on each of these issues be analysed and interpreted correctly as Dan s criminal
liability hangs in the balance. It is submitted that the trial judge in this case appears to have erred in
his judgement and these mistakes will be outlined below. Throughout this submission, the law will
then be applied in order to correctly advise Dan in relation to his options and liability.
Part 1
Traditionally, children s evidence was treated as suspect and the judge in such a case was obliged to
give a corroboration warning to the jury. The Supreme Court established this requirement in the case
of People v Casey , when Kingsmill Moore J held that in cases completely or partially dependent on
visual identification evidence, the trial judge should give a general warning to the jury. Kingsmill
Moore J stated that the unsworn evidence of children of tender ... shall not be sufficient to convict of
an offence, unless corroborated by other material evidence implicating the accused This point was
further established in the case of DPP v O Reilly. It was also

Apple Vs. Microsoft Computers
Apple vs Microsoft computers
Which brand is better, Apple s Mac computers or Microsoft s window computers? Both are huge
technology motivators in our era. The two companies are constantly battling each other with their
products. While most common users buy a computer that s mainstream or popular don t seem to
realize which computer is really best for them. Here we will talk about which computer is best for one
by hardware, operating system, and software.
Although some people think Apple s computer hardware is the flagship of computers , people
underestimate the price and power of Microsoft s Windows computers. Now hardware of a Computer
is and consists of Random access memory (ram),Central processing unit (CPU), Graphics card (GPU),
and data storage. Hardware defines how fast your computer is , now let s find out which is more
convenient for a user. So here we have a Mac Pro for three thousand dollars. It has 12 Gigabytes of
RAM, a Quad Core CPU at the speed of 3.5Ghz (gigahertz), 2 AMD D300 graphic cards , along with
256 Gigabyte Solid state Hard Drive (storage). On the other hand we have a Windows ABS berserker
computer for eight hundred dollars. It has 16 gigabytes of RAM , an eight core processor at the speed
of 3.5ghz, a r9 380x graphics card , and 2 terabytes (2,000 Gigabytes) of a regular hard disk memory,
with an addition of a 256 gigabyte solid state Hard Drive for eighty dollars. Now if we look at a
benchmark chart of the two , we see the Windows machine is

Can A Motive Be A Theme
Even though Motive and theme are two distinct terms that describe two different kinds of melodic
units in music, a motive can still be a theme. To explain this in more detail, first one would have to
define each of the terms. Motive is defined by what a composer is trying to communicate through their
musical work. A motive is but a component of a theme. A theme being according to The Enjoyment of
Music textbook a melodic idea in a large scale work (Chapter 6). So how exactly can a motive be a
theme? Motives are key in order to create an overall theme in a musical composition. Without
motives, a theme cannot exist. A motive in itself is just smaller themes broken into smaller melodic
units. If the motives have the same ideas as the theme,

Establishing Special Economic Zones
Inspired by the success of the Silicon Valley, numerous states began to establish special economic
zones, or scientific parks in pursue of economic growth in a region and diversification of the
innovation potential. Considered to be a tool for attraction the small companies with high innovative
orientation, such parks have become an international phenomenon. The variety of patterns of existing
parks can be explained by the difference in social economic formation of specific countries, their
history, cultural legacy and mentality. Having come through difficult economic reforms of 80s 90s,
Russia found itself in a situation of strong crude materials dependence and relative inability to
compete successfully on the international and domestic markets. Recent trend in IT and innovation
technologies suggested the need for the country to catch up with those who in the lead. Skolkovo is an
example of how Russian officials adopt best foreign practices for domestic market in order to
eliminate the problem of long term lagging. However, Skolkovo, despite being protected by the
government, is deemed to have a lot of problem inherited from Russian mentality and business ethics.
The need for finding the solution of long standing problems justifies the purpose of this paper. Purpose
of the paper is to investigate nature of science parks, in particular Skolkovo Project. We hypothesize
that the model of Skolkovo s development can be successful in the current Russian economic
environment.

Simeon Fat
This historical research brought Simeon to the analysis and studying of fat in the human body and the
various forms it takes on. Simeons establish that the body has three types of fat. The first is structural
fat which fills in gaps between organs, and as Simeons puts it, acts as a packing material. It helps
protect our arteries, provides bedding for the kidneys and keeps the skin smooth and taut. Structural
fat also provides the springy cushion underneath the bones in our feet. The second is normal fat which
is our normal reserves of fuel that can be drawn on by the body for energy. Fat packs a high amount of
calories in a small amount of space and is used for muscular activity and the overall maintenance of
the body including its temperature.

Earthquake Of The California On The San Andreas Fault Line
Living in the California on the San Andreas Fault line is the dangerous place to live. Growing up as a

this earthquake was linked to numerous aftershocks. These aftershocks were felt in the Andaman
Islands and Nicobar Islands which was felt hours and days later. The Indian Ocean Earthquake was
linked to the Sumatra earthquake in 2005 due to the stress changes that occurred on the plates. People
who suffer from an earthquake can lose everything. Homes can be damaged and cause additional
stress on the family and the providers for the family. There have been homes that have caught on fire

losing everything is downright anxiety causing let alone actual losing all of your belonging due to a

How Is Bilbo A Hero
Many authors communicate to the reader through fictional stories known as myths. These myths, set
in a fictional place or time, are able to identify problems with society today. The popular novel The
Hobbit is a great example of a myth criticizing society today. Although it takes place in a fantasy land
and has creatures that do not exist, it criticizes how we as humans should live our lives as well as
telling us what it means to be a hero. The Hobbit tells us that we should take risks and experience new
paths to make us have a better character. A hobbit is a peaceful creature that likes to live in holes in the

when he gets caught, he is afraid. When asked who he was, Bilbo replied, shaking all over, and

this time he was not as scared as before. Bilbo was still a little frightened for when he heard Gollum,

The Theory of Reconsolidation
The Theory of Reconsolidation What is it and how can it impact on our lives?
Learning is a very important aspect of humans and creatures alike. Not only is it essential to the
survival and adaption into this world but it also defines who we are as individuals (Schiller et al, 2010;
Tronson Taylor, 2007). Memories from past experiences shape the people that we are today. A crucial
element to learning is memory, without it we would not be able to retain information. The process of
memory is very distinct and consists of several different stages: acquisition of memory, consolidation,
retrieval and then either reconsolidation or extinction (Debiec Ledoux, 2004; Diergaarde,
Schoffelmeer De Vries, 2008). As memory is such a critical aspect of learning, it is no wonder that its
distinct process has become the topic of much research in the neurobiological universe (Hupbach et al,
2007; Nader Hardt, 2009).
After a new memory is learnt, it enters the process of encoding during which the memory is labile and
capable of disruption until it becomes stabilised over a period of time (Nader Einarsson, 2010; Nader
et al, 2000). This process is called consolidation and originally consisted of the theory that once
stabilised in the brain, it remains fixed (Suzuki et al, 2004). This theory has been rebutted by the
acceptance of reconsolidation, a theory that imposes the ideology that when memories are retrieved,
through similar experiences (Lee, 2009), they become labile until,

Causes And Disadvantages Of Tooth Discoloration
A recent survey has found that 80% of Americans aged eighteen to forty nine want their teeth whiter
(Lisa Vernon Sparks 2010). According to the American Association of Orthodontists, they have found
that 90% of their patients request tooth whitening (Mouth Healthy 2013). Many claim a brighter smile
would help boost their self confidence and it is also a cost effective way to enhance teeth (Your Smile
Becomes You). Teeth whitening has become an easy way to instantly improve appearance or first
impression on someone. Numerous toothpaste companies claim their brand of toothpaste can whiten
teeth the best, but can they really? Top toothpaste brands include Colgate Optic Whitening Toothpaste,
3D Crest White Luxe Toothpaste, AP 24, Arm Hammer Advance White Toothpaste, Sensodyne
Pronamel Whitening Toothpaste, and many more. Overall AP 24 Toothpaste has the best whitening

Pros And Cons Of Abortion In India
Abortion is one delicate subject when it comes to debating about it because of people religious beliefs
and the controversy surrounding it. But what people don t know that in many parts of the world
abortion is a big part of their daily life choices. And by that, I mean that most people tend to have
abortions, depending on the sex of their baby, because of their belief system. China and India are one
of the major countries that prefer males over females because men are the ones that are always in
power in the household and also they are the ones that tend to inherit the majority of the family s
benefits. China has one of the highest abortion rates, along with that they have the lowest female
population. Throughout my research, I ve learned a lot about sex selective abortion one of those things
that it s traveling to other parts of the world.
The reason I chose to write my report on sex selective abortion is that I saw a documentary called It s
a Girl: The Three Deadliest Words in the World I found it to be intersecting since this was my first
time ever hearing about. I couldn t understand why? Throughout the documentary, you learn mainly
how women in China and in India are being neglected and are forced into having an abortion because

Romanticism And The Romantic Era
Romanticism was a literary movement that swept through virtually every country of Europe, the
United States, and Latin America that lasted from about 1750 to 1870. This period included
philosophy, art, music, literature. Romantics believed that men and women should not be guided by
rules placed on them by society but led by warm emotions that promoted a sense of freedom. William
Blake was one of the poets that began the Romantic Age who promoted self expression but was
weighed down by the importance and standards of religion. (Forward, 2014) Literary work during
Romanticism had a strong emphasis in implementing nature, emotion over logic, imagination over
reason, and no division between art and literature. These works placed focus on human personality
affected by political and social causes. These became dominant themes in romantic poetry which
made literature much more complex. (Wartz The Romantic Era 1999)
During the same time, the Victorian Era was present in Britain which was stricken with poverty.
Unlike the romanticism era, Victorians did not have much belief and faith in nature because they knew
it would not help diminish poverty and other worldly issues. Though romanticism is very emotional,
Victorian pieces are more complicated and sort of withdrawn. Victorian pieces also focus more on
turning political issues into art and capturing individual experiences. These two eras set the foundation
for artistic styles, literary schools, as well as, social, political and religious movements that flourished.
It was a time of prosperity, broad imperial expansion, and great political reform. Contrasting to that
was the horrible reality of child labor which persisted throughout the period. When a bill was passed
stipulating that children under nine could not work in the textile industry, this in no way applied to
other industries.
In the late eighteenth and nineteenth century, child labor in England was prominent after the Great
Fire of London in 1666. ( Children As Chimney Sweeps In England A Terrible Chapter In History )

of a satirical film then it is often seen as being offensive. Satire is designed to bring attention to
serious issues by making fun of them. Due to the nature of subjects often broached in satirical films
people often mistake them for supporting the very ideals they are trying to bring attention to. This can
be seen in Mel Brooks Blazing Saddles as the characters will often say very offensive things and if
one did not understand that it was all meant to be taken with a few grains of salt then they would
interpret the movie as being extremely offensive. Due to satires ability to bring attention to the
difficult issues in societies it is

Taking a Look Inside Hallucinogens Essay
Hallucinogens: a general group of pharmacological agents that can be divided into three broad
categories: psychedelics, dissociatives, and deliriants. Hallucinogenic drugs have played a role in
civilization for thousands of year. It began with naturally occurring hallucinogens, such as the peyote
cactus plant and wild mushrooms. Now there are man made drugs that have the same or more intense
affects. These include lysergic acid diethylamide (LSD), MDMA (ecstasy), and dextromethorphan
(DMX, often found in cough syrup). Within this essay, I will cover the history, production, and affects
of hallucinogenic drugs. Peyote, a naturally produced plant, has been used as a hallucinogen since as
early as 200 AD. It was originally used in Native ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Long term affects for hallucinogens can vary. With LSD, it is believed that trips can trigger the onset
of schizophrenia or other psychological disorders. Users can also experience flashbacks, happening as
long as a year later than the original trip. The flashbacks sometimes persist, affecting the users social
and occupational life. This is known as hallucinogen induced persisting perceptual disorder. LSD is
not considered an addictive drug, since most users voluntarily stop use over time, and it does not
produce compulsive, drug seeking behavior. But, LSD does produce tolerance. After using the drug
only a few times, users must take increasingly higher doses to reach the same high. This is very
dangerous, given the drugs unpredictability. Let s talk specifics: LSD. Lysergic acid diethylamide was
first synthesized by Albert Hofman in Switzerland, 1938. He didn t originally find anything interesting
about the substance, but changed his mind about it a few years later. In 1943, Hofman accidently
ingested the substance and discovered its potency. Rewind nine years: Albert Hofman has just finished
the experiments for his doctoral degree, at the age of 23. He began work as a natural products chemist
in Basel. He worked on ergot alkaloids, substances produced by the ergot fungus that infects grain.
These substances occur naturally, making studying them less expensive. Ergot extracts had been used

The Homosexuality As An Interdisciplinary Theorization Of...
The proposition of my paper is to propose the homosexuality as an interdisciplinary theorization of
Caravaggio s artwork done in Rome. The purpose of this paper is to not dig deeper into the
homosexuality of Caravaggio but to give a different representation and perspective of homosexuality.
This paper does not discuss the actual sexuality of Caravaggio, but more so how we perceive norms
that can differentiate with connotations to sexuality in Rome during his lifetime. Homosexuality is
intertwined with norm systems that concerns sexuality. Caravaggio has some significant traits in his
early art work done in Rome such as sensualism and the extensive use of charm. The sensual charisma
has been extensively explained in religious terms and given a simpler cultural context by Maurizio
Calvesi. There have been many debates where Caravaggio was a homosexual or not, based on the
paintings he had done that had young men and young boys with seductive trances on their faces. The
few examples of this would be The Cardsharps, Boy bitten by a lizard, The Lute Player, Bacco, the
Musicans, Boy with a Basket of Fruit, St John the Baptist. Also, to contribute to the assumption that
Caravaggio was a homosexual was the private paintings he has done which include a naked Pluto,
Jupiter, and Neptune, in order to symbolize a perfect human in an inhumane world. The paintings on
the ceilings help bring to light the social culture that shows the norms directly connected to sexuality

Tartuffe Hypocrisy Analysis

Hypocrisy at its Finest
The topics of religion and hypocrisy are the major themes of Tartuffe. The play is centered around a
man called Tartuffe, who claims to be a pious and holy man whose every action is based to please God
and follow religion tirelessly. There has been no loftier soul since time began claimed Orgon (Molière,
2016). We then realize this man does quite the opposite and [Tartuffe] has proved his warm and
grateful feelings toward [Orgon], it s with horns he would reward [Orgon] (Molière, 2016). He uses
the mask of being religious to weasel his way into gullible people s lives such as Orgon, then take full
advantage of them and call it holy. This action is by definition ... Show more content on

So if this were a full satire condemning those who believed in religion, wouldn t Orgon have not
gotten his estate back and Tartuffe gotten away with it all? That conclusion would have called
followers like Orgon out to encourage them to turn away from organized religion. Instead Tartuffe gets
caught and punished for his manipulation and betrayal. The truth will out, that is the message Moliere
writes about.
At the beginning of the play Cleante has a monologue defining how a truly Godly man would act;
without showmanship or want of praise but simply doing what is right because it is right.
So there is nothing, I think, so odious as the whitewashed outside of a specious zeal; as those
downright imposters, those bigots whose sacrilegious and deceitful grimaces impose on others with
impunity, and who trifle as they like with all that mankind holds sacred; those men who, wholly given
to mercenary ends, trade upon godliness, and would purchase honour and reputation at the cost of
hypocritical looks and affected groans; who, seized with strange ardour, make use of the next world to
secure their fortune in this; who, with great affectation and many prayers, daily preach solitude and
retirement while they themselves live at Court; who know how to reconcile their zeal with their vices;
who are passionate, revengeful, faithless, full of deceit, and who, to work the destruction of a fellow
man, insolently cover their fierce resentment with the cause of

Problems in Air Traffic Control and Proposed Solutions
Problems in Air Traffic Control and Proposed Solutions In northern California this summer, the
Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) unintentionally performed it s first operational test of free
flight ; aviation without direct air traffic control. This was an unintentional experiment because it was
a result of a total shut down of the Oakland Air Route Traffic Control Center (ARTCC). Although
Oakland is only the 16th busiest ARTCC, it s responsible for the largest block of airspace of any ATC

Painting With Light By Dante Gabriel Rossetti Essay
The exhibition, Painting with Light will be displayed at the Tate Modern in London from May the
11th till September the 25th 2016. To those of you who may see Edwardian and Victorian art as not
being particularly exciting, i would encourage you to try and look past this disinterest and get down to
see the Painting with Light exhibition. The exhibition impressively manages to capture the
development of art during the period in a way of which the disinterest of most is turned into intrigue
and knowledge.
The exhibition focuses on the relationship between painting and photography, the largely experimental
period in which this developed coincided with the founding of the Pre Raphaelite Brotherhood.
Paintings by Dante Gabriel Rossetti, John Everett Millais and John Singer Sargent are included (and
personally i believe they are the highlights of the exhibition) are shown side by side with the photos
they inspired and of subjects they drew inspiration from.
The Pre Raphaelite Brotherhood was a secret society of the mid 19th century that sought to create a
new form of British art. They strived to emulate art from the late medieval period, early renaissance
till the of Raphael, striving to convey messages of artistic renewal and moral reform. This theme
combined with Aesthetic and Impressionist works gives the richness in culture and a great span in
examples that supply ample contextual and visual support for the idea the exhibition is conveying.

The Marketing And Communications For Plaza Home Health...
The current marketing and communications for Plaza Home Health Services is in desperate need of
upgrades. Fortunately, the owners now have the needed income to make identity improvements. This
is important because (Fortenberry 2010) whenever an infusion of resources occurs such as more
prosperous periods, healthcare marketers must comprehensively review their identity management
efforts to determine the most productive methods for utilizing these funds to affect the greatest
identity gains in the marketplace. (p.60)
The logo for Plaza Home Health Services is of poor quality. Consequently, the poorly designed logo
has caused a domino effect of poorly designed marketing communications such as their business
cards, brochures, and the signage located on the front of the building. To achieve identity, it is
important that their logo is in line with their target audience. According to Fortenberry, (2010) identity
is achieved through branding activities, with such activities generating logos, product names, slogans,
jingles, product packaging, building signage, and related identity vehicles for conveying desired
images to target audiences. (p.56) Mangin (2014) states that successful healthcare branding requires a
solid, organized commitment to delivering unique standards of consistency through the institution s
products and services. In addition, a healthcare organization (HCO) must differentiate itself from the
competition or risk the chance of becoming a commodity, where

History Of The Circus Maximus
Introduction The Circus Maximus is the greatest entertainment venue is Italy. It was the first stadium
in Rome and the largest stadium as well. The Circus Maximus was built between the two hills,
Palatine and Aventine. It has and always will be the largest stadium in the Roman Empire. It was also
used as a model for other stadiums built in the Roman empire. It measured to be 2,037 feet and length.
The width was 387 feet. The stadium is said to hold around 150,000 people. The seats were concrete
and stone. The lower two tiers were made of wood. The track itself was originally covered in sand. It
measured to be 540 x 80 m and had 12 starting gates. At the open end of the track, The chariots
arranged themselves. The stadium also provided arcades and shops which served the spectators needs.
Circus Maxiumus became a model for other circuses in the Roman Empire. This site is now a park for
the public. History Because of the rise of christianity in the Roman Empire, the Circus started to lose
many people. There would be less people showing up the events they held, and eventually it started
dying. The stadium was no longer being used and even started to decay. There also was great damage
to the structure because of thieves who would steal the building material. It was because of flooding
that the seats from the lower tiers of the stadium got buried. It is believed to many that the real and
true track remains six meters under ground beneath thick soil. There was a

When a person´s birthday comes around does he/she ever wonder what happened on his/her birthday
before he/she was even thought of? Do they ever wonder about the special events that happened on
that day besides their birth? I was astonished to have found out how much had happened on October
19. I was born on October 19, 2000. My parents are Billy and Teresa Summerlin. I was born in
Mission Hospital on a Thursday morning. It was fifty eight degrees and it was dark outside. My doctor
was Dr. David Cobb, and he said that I was a miracle baby. I weighed four pounds and thirteen ounces
because I wasn t getting the nutrition that I needed because the umbilical cord was wrapped around
my stomach, and I couldn t breathe well. My grandmother had a gall bladder attack the same day I
was born and was also put in the hospital. My family said that I looked like a naked squirrel when I
was born. My first name, Alexis is a Greek name that means defender or helper. My last name,
Summerlin is a Scottish name that means mariner, viking, or wander. On October 19, 2012 the statue
¨Big Tex was destroyed by fire during the State Fair of Texas. Another thing that happened on my
birthday was that Henry Ford made his first radio speech in 1932. One thing that interested me the
most was in 1960, Martin Luther King Jr. was arrested at an Atlanta sit in at ¨The Magnolia Room¨ On

Integration of Female Characters: The Damage of The Closet
The most notable difference between the film adaptation and the short story is the film s additional
emphasis and integration of female characters. In the film, Alma has more of a focus, becomes more
complex of a character, and has more lines than in the original story. Additionally, Laureen is a
developed character with a personality and character arc, which was also something not found in the
original story. This additional emphasis on females provides the audience with a new perspective from
which to view the story. However, it is a perspective that is essentially harmful to the queer
community. By having a focus on the female characters, the film
hedges against relying too much on gay masculinity as realism both by cyclically returning point of
view to the women in the film, and by draping a light scrim of comedy over Jack and Ennis s
relationship. The moment when Michelle William s Alma sees her husband locking lips with his
fishing buddy has achieved its own iconic status: Oprah Winfrey, when she hosted the cast for a pre
Academy Awards endorsement of the film s power, focused first on how hard it must have been for
Heath and Jake to kiss each other heavens! but then insisted that the film was a lesson in the damage
the closet wreaks on the lives of women who love closeted men (Joshua Clover) .

The National Motto Of The United States Of America
While the 50 s were known as a major countercultural era, the 1950 s in America also allowed for
religion to make a big resurgence. In 1950 specifically, 40% of American were a church member, and
by 1960 this number had risen to nearly 70%. President Eisenhower during this time stated, Our
government makes no sense unless it is founded on a deeply felt religious faith. As he was concerned
about Americans being deadened in mind and soul by a materialistic philosophy of life. To take it a
step further, in 1954, he signed a bill to add one nation under God to the Pledge of Allegiance. And
almost exactly two years proceeding the signing of that bill did, Congress make In God We Trust the
national motto of the United States of America.
In the 1951 1960 Baylor University and other institutions across America were searching for ways to
bolster organizational and academic legitimacy during a time where religion was a major part of the
societal discussion. With Baylor being a major Baptist and religious institution the need to legitimize
the value of a Baylor education was growing. In University President William R. White s inaugural

Difference Between Interest Groups And Political Parties
According to ushistory.org, there are four types of linkage institutions. Interest groups and political
parties are said to be linkage institutions . In this essay, I will be addressing why it is exactly that
interest groups and political parties fall under the category of linkage institutions, the similarities and
differences between interest groups and political parties, the differences in the roles that interest
groups and political parties play, and which of the two linkage institutions is most important to the
democratic processes. These topics are significant because interest groups and political parties keep
the people involved with government policy by giving people a chance to influence policy in our
country. The main purpose for this essay is to inform the reader of the differences between interest
groups and political parties and how the people can get more involved; more than just simply casting a
vote in elections.
Linkage institutions are defined by Wikipedia as, The structures that connect the people to the
government. According to chapter eight of the book, a political party is defined as, An ongoing
coalition of interests joined together in an effort to get its candidates for public office elected under a
common label. In more simple terms, a political party is a group of like minded individuals that try to

Ozone Levels In Houston Essay
What is the difference between the ozone level in Houston and San Antonio?
How are people exposed to ozone?
What are the harmful effects of bad ozone and what is being done to reduce the ozone pollution?
Introduction: Ozone also known as O3, is a colorless toxic gas formed by three oxygen atoms. The
ozone occurs in the Earth s upper atmosphere, the stratosphere and in the lower atmosphere, the
troposphere. The ozone can affect life in a good or bad way. Good ozone is in the upper atmosphere
and occurs naturally, it has a protective layer that helps block harmful ultraviolet rays (EPA.Gov).
Stratospheric ozone is formed naturally and it is about 6 through 30 miles above the Earth s surface
and it also reduces the amount of harmful UV rays. Bad ozone is created by chemical reactions of
oxides of nitrogen (NOx) and volatile organic compounds (VOCs) (EPA.Gov). Tropospheric or
ground level ozone is what we breathe and are formed by chemical reactions of NOx and VOCs, these
reactions have been viewed by the presence of heat and sunlight, resulting in higher ozone levels in
the summer. The purpose of this paper is to identify the difference ozone levels in San ... Show more

Middlesex by Jeffry Eugenides
Middlesex by Jeffry Eugenides is a book about Calliope Cal Stephanides. In the beginning of the
book, Cal, as he likes to be referred to as, tells us about his condition. Cal has a 5 Alpha Reductase
pseudohermaphrodite which is, simply put, a condition that affects the sexual development of males
before the birth of the child and also during puberty. In Middlesex, incestuous marriages were secretly
accepted among the villagers which resulted in Cal being conceived by cousins. Before Cal s birth, the
tradition of his family was gender prediction by his grandmother, Desdemona Stephanides. It seemed
to be a traditional thing for the family from the Greek roots. When it was time to predict Tessie s, Cal s
mother, baby, Desdemona declared that the child would be a boy. Milton, Cal s father, disagreed
because there was no way the baby could be a boy scientifically. This could also be based on the fact
that Tessie and Milton wanted a baby girl. Until the age of sixteen, Cal was raised as a girl even
though he had a male brain biologically.
The fact that Calliope was a child of incest was a huge factor on why he was born with the condition
he was born with. 5 Alpha Reductace, as stated earlier, is a condition in which people are born male
but their bodies fail to produce enough dihydrotestosterone (DHT). A shortage of DHT disrupts the
formation of external sex organs before birth which is why it is understandable that Cal s parents
raised him as a girl. The thing is,

Terrorist Motivation
Motivation for Terrorist Acts All terrorism is meant to accomplish one thing. What has been popularly
called an act of terror is so termed because the perpetrators hope that they can affect the manner in
which people perceive their safety and the government that is supposed to be protecting them. With
this goal in mind, every act that can be called terrorist in origin wants to have a psychological
component. The success or failure of the attempt can, in one way, be seen as effective depending on
the news coverage of that event and the way that electronic and print news outlets view it. Recently, a
terrorist plot in Indonesia was thwarted which could have done severe damage to the property and
lives of foreign nationals in the region. The plot, which was against a variety of Western targets, was
designed to create the maximum amount of chaos during a small period of time. It will be argued in
this paper that even though the plot was stopped by the Indonesian army and police, it was a success
in creating the desired psychological effect, and that other similarly foiled plots have also been
successful. Taking the second argument first, the Twin Towers in New York were not bombed just one
time. In the early 1990 s they were subject to a relatively small explosion (relative to what happened
in 2001) with a larger plot doused by police. Unfortunately for the terrorist group, their larger plan did
not work, but it caused a panic among many people who wondered if the US was

Christian s manipulation of Anastasia is especially notable, as he eventually brings Anastasia along on
BDSM practices that she never had a passion for. All he had to do was simply justify his violent
tendencies to Anastasia and the audience, which he successfully fulfills through the veil of generosity.
On the surface, Christian does all things that a heterosexual woman may want. He makes time to meet
Anastasia, he buys her luxurious presents that she could have never afforded on her own, takes her on
adventures such as glider riding, respects her input on sexual matters, and lets her into his personal
boundaries by sharing intimate stories about his sorrowful early life. Such behavior, however, only
functions to disguise Christian s sexual violence and maniacal attachment to Anastasia, and portray
him as a charismatic romantic. Fifty Shades of Grey, once it was released, became the ultimate sexual
fantasy for heterosexual women around the world, implementing an idea that male authoritativeness is
okay as long as he covers himself as a generous (and hot) knight in shining armor. With the second

The Is Not The Only Accusation Made By God Against Israel...
Idolatry was not the only accusation made by God against Israel and Judah. Corruption had become
the norm for the priest, leaders, businessmen, and common man alike. The people of these nations
cared only about what they had and wanted. They would lie, cheat, steal, and even kill to get what
they wanted. Their priests would only teach if they were paid. God gave the priests a position of trust
and responsibility to be the caretakers of the people. They were supposed to be the shepherds, not the
oppressors, of God s people. Instead, they turned their backs on God s law and began selling
themselves for money, power, and approval while they hid behind the appearance of righteousness.
God warned them that all of the wealth and possessions they had prostituted themselves to get would
once again be used to buy other prostitutes. This statement may be confusing to some so look at what
God is saying. The people of Israel sold their integrity, morals, and beliefs for pleasure, popularity,
and personal gain. God is now telling them that all of these things will be taken from them and Satan
will use them to lure other people into the same type of prostitution. God s warnings and accusations
that are recorded in the books of the Major and Minor Prophets are not just for these ancient
Kingdoms. They apply to our world today. If we focus on His accusations of evil and not the people or
nations that these prophets warned, we can see the same rebellion and wickedness in our

Should We Legalize Prostitution Essay
Should we legalize prostitution in the US?
The laws regarding prostitution, often called the oldest profession in the world , have been facing
changes for many years. They are multiple attitudes regarding prostitution and opinions on the
connotation this word should have but the idea people have of sex worker is usually negative. On a
legal matter sex work has been discussed many time and laws regarding this act varies around the
world. Some countries found this act immoral and think that it should not be accepted on some ethical
and legal concepts while other countries accepts it not only on a legal manner but also as a way of
making a living for those who decided for themselves that this is what they want to do. A lot of
questions regarding the decision we should make about the legal aspect of this work are in relation to
the impact it can have on the society and on the workers itself. Four different views approach this
subject; the criminalization of the act, the abolition of the act, the decriminalization of the act or the
legalization of it. (p.44 why is prostitution criminalized?) Criminalization is the one presently
established in the US. It means that all parties involved in the act are open to criminal punishment.
The abolitionist approach is not to punish the sex worker but punishing only third parties.
Decriminalization means that the act is not longer subject to legal consequences and their work is

Basic Object Exercises:
The way that you rehearse should be definite and concise. Practice a lot but when actually performing
it, act as if it was impulsive.
This text helped me to understand Hagen s form and approach to acting. Whenever I see people act on
TV, I think, wow! It sounds so easy to do what they do when matter of fact, acting is so hard.

It is easier to endow an object with physical and reachable attributes, as it is an object of difficult
description and qualities. I think being able to provide a scene with your endowment of an object to
help you do justice to the scene can be very helpful and beautiful
Talking to Yourself
Be aware of when you talk to yourself normally.
The way that you talk to yourself is different than the way you talk to others, especially an audience.
You may be more confident and ready in front of yourself but less confident in front of others so
again, practicing, in front of a group of friends or audience can help you prepare better. It is still one of
my goals to be able to perform wonderfully in front of the class one day.
Outdoors
Explore being in different outdoor situations
Learn to watch what you do when you are on your own time and not really doing much
By exploring the realms outside of acting, you can really get a feel of what it feels like to be out of a
scene, or perhaps even in a scene. Noticing your behavior while doing nothing can really tell you how
you behave otherwise. Are you really quiet in person and really loud or obnoxious on stage? This
really made me think of who I was and made me wonder if I ever acted for a living, and if it were to at
all change who I was as an actor.
Conditioning Forces
Being able to put together three or more senses like heat, cold, pains, dark, etc.

  • 2. Econometrics Applied Econometrics BE5103 Tutorial 1 Q1 a) In the simple OLS regression estimation it is not possible that all actual independent Yi values lie above the estimated regression line. This is because OLS minimizes SUM ê2 , the residual , ê, is the difference between the actual Yi and the predicted Yi and has zero mean. In other words, OLS calculates the slope coefficient so that the difference between the predicted Yi and actual Yi is minimized. The OLS estimates of the βs: Are unbiased the βs are centred around the true population values of βs Have minimum variance the distribution of the β estimates around the true βs are as tight as possible Are consistent as the sample size(n) approaches infinity, the estimated βs ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... The closer that R2 is to 1, the better the fit meaning the group of independent variable could explain better what happens to the dependent variable. R2 may not be the best estimate at times because if we add another independent variable to the model the R2 would increase but it does not say necessary the model becomes better. Therefore some would prefer to look at the adjusted R2 as it would only increase if the variable used are relevant to the model. Addition of independent variable to the model would not result in an increase in adjusted R2 if the variables does not improve the model. We can then look at the T Statistics to see how individual variable can explain the dependent variable, by doing a T test comparing it with the Critical value T. By doing a 10%,5% or 1% test. We could also look at the model as a whole by looking at the F Statistics and doing a F test. With Eviews regression we can simply look at the P Values to see at which level of confidence we can reject the Hypothesis, From the above 3models, it seems that R2 is highest in model 3, and the adjusted R2 is also the highest in the model which tells us that the independent variable are better in explaining the dependent variable. Model 3 is a better regression model. Income per person is a better independent variable rather than income and population as a variable. Again this goes in line with economic theory, as income per person increases it would result increase ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Hence to improve the process within the company lean techniques are used so that the total impact will not be high when it is applied to a broader supply chain. Figure 1. Increasing vehicle outsourcing (% of car value). The above fig represents the birth place of lean, which is an automotive industry and it shows the trend towards outsource and vehicle s total value. And, it represents the trend of the three European makers accordingly. Lean techniques have shown a positive trend within the companies and in broader supply chain. To understand across a broader chain supply, the three principles namely pull, level loaded work and synchronization helps understanding the interaction between the suppliers and customers or within a company. The trend of implementing lean technology has grown into a broader spectrum. The Toyota production the TPS were applied where only manufacturing efficiency was the aim. • 4. James Galvin s On The Sadness Of Wedding Dresses Gorgeous beading, glittering sequins, and pearly white are some of the words brides use to describe their wedding dresses. Once weddings are over, brides normally take every precaution to preserve this most expensive, treasured, and prized item. Even after years of marriage, wives fondly recall the hours spent searching for the perfect dress and playfully ponder whether the beauty still fits. However, in contrast to the typical feelings associated with a bride s wedding dress, a close reading of James Galvin s poem On the Sadness of Wedding Dresses offers a unique perspective of worn wedding dresses. Upon initial reading, the poem s title, genre, and speaker offer a unique perspective on a normally exciting aspect of weddings: the dress. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... The word sadness immediately stands out in the title indicating opposite feelings normally associated with wedding dresses. To continue, the words sad story are repeated in lines 27 and 28 (Galvin). Galvin also repeats the word closet in line 4, 11, 14, 20, and 29; alone and forgotten in the darkness of a closet emphasizes the unique perspective of abandonment as opposed to a treasured item. From there, Galvin repetitively makes additional word choices that emphasize the sad, lonely, and abandoned feelings used wedding dresses experience. Galvin makes word choices such as starless, hopeless, darkness, hollow, dump, gone, and disappear. These words all connotate a dark, lonely, and abandoned feeling. Moreover, Galvin incorporates the words yellow, smoke, and flames. Packed away wedding dresses turn an ugly yellow while the lucky wedding dresses go up in smoke and flames; neither scenario are connected to the traditional view of a keepsake. To further the unique tone Galvin associates with wedding dresses, he integrates words such as weeping, longing, and waiting. The connotation of Galvin s word choices elicit a deep yearning for a better outcome that will unfortunately never come for his abandoned wedding ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

The experience took a huge toll on him, physically and mentally. A few years after the novel was published, he started to pop pills and go downhill. Though this novel was a bestseller, everything comes with a cost. Capote used suspense to tie the novel together and to leave everyone wondering what would be in the next chapter. He portrayed Dick and Perry as point blank serial killers. The way he had explained each death of the people in the Clutter s family was horrific. In Cold Blood was the best and worst thing to ever happen to Capote. Throughout America many murders are committed every single day. Murderers tend to lack remorse for people which can be traced back to them having physiological issues. In Cold Blood by Truman Capote is a prime example of this disastrous crime. All of which are focused so heavily on by news and media outlets that even the most serious of issues are overlooked. One of these topics is child prostitution, and its an epidemic that s propelled by inadequate orphanages, ineffective laws, and a demand in commercial sex. Even places like the UK and America are no strangers to the underage sex industry. In London there s a dark alley along Edgeware road where the city likes to turn a blind eye. An average night there will cost you from six to fifteen pounds. Men make up a large portion of the patrons but the business there is no stranger to the opposite sex. Children walk about and the only distinction between them and regular orphans is the following word; Business? There s no secret to child prostitution, it s been around since perverts first decided thirteen was a ripe age for womanhood. The lines get a little hazy trying to figure out when the council of child molesters said let s go younger , but the general idea is that it happened sometime after society looked into age of consent . For most it s a thick brush stroke, clear and unmistakable, painted in the pages of the law, purposed to protect the innocent. For the council men it s a barrier they re compelled to penetrate, an innocence that needs to be reaped. How do children find themselves in that situation to begin with? Run aways and ... However, the issues that must be addressed are that involving the law of evidence in Ireland. There are many legal issues at play throughout this case that must be addressed in detail. This submission will outline the law, as it stands to date, in relation to child witnesses, the presumption of innocence, corroboration and witness competence. It is essential that the law on each of these issues be analysed and interpreted correctly as Dan s criminal liability hangs in the balance. It is submitted that the trial judge in this case appears to have erred in his judgement and these mistakes will be outlined below. Throughout this submission, the law will then be applied in order to correctly advise Dan in relation to his options and liability. Part 1 Traditionally, children s evidence was treated as suspect and the judge in such a case was obliged to give a corroboration warning to the jury. The Supreme Court established this requirement in the case of People v Casey , when Kingsmill Moore J held that in cases completely or partially dependent on visual identification evidence, the trial judge should give a general warning to the jury. Establishing Special Economic Zones Inspired by the success of the Silicon Valley, numerous states began to establish special economic zones, or scientific parks in pursue of economic growth in a region and diversification of the innovation potential. Considered to be a tool for attraction the small companies with high innovative orientation, such parks have become an international phenomenon. The variety of patterns of existing parks can be explained by the difference in social economic formation of specific countries, their history, cultural legacy and mentality. Having come through difficult economic reforms of 80s 90s, Russia found itself in a situation of strong crude materials dependence and relative inability to compete successfully on the international and domestic markets. Recent trend in IT and innovation technologies suggested the need for the country to catch up with those who in the lead. Skolkovo is an example of how Russian officials adopt best foreign practices for domestic market in order to eliminate the problem of long term lagging. However, Skolkovo, despite being protected by the government, is deemed to have a lot of problem inherited from Russian mentality and business ethics. The need for finding the solution of long standing problems justifies the purpose of this paper. Purpose of the paper is to investigate nature of science parks, in particular Skolkovo Project. • 16. How Is Bilbo A Hero Many authors communicate to the reader through fictional stories known as myths. These myths, set in a fictional place or time, are able to identify problems with society today. The popular novel The Hobbit is a great example of a myth criticizing society today. Although it takes place in a fantasy land and has creatures that do not exist, it criticizes how we as humans should live our lives as well as telling us what it means to be a hero. The Hobbit tells us that we should take risks and experience new paths to make us have a better character. • 17. The Theory of Reconsolidation The Theory of Reconsolidation What is it and how can it impact on our lives? Learning is a very important aspect of humans and creatures alike. Not only is it essential to the survival and adaption into this world but it also defines who we are as individuals (Schiller et al, 2010; Tronson Taylor, 2007). Memories from past experiences shape the people that we are today. A crucial element to learning is memory, without it we would not be able to retain information. The process of memory is very distinct and consists of several different stages: acquisition of memory, consolidation, retrieval and then either reconsolidation or extinction (Debiec Ledoux, 2004; Diergaarde, Schoffelmeer De Vries, 2008). As memory is such a critical aspect of learning, it is no wonder that its distinct process has become the topic of much research in the neurobiological universe (Hupbach et al, 2007; Nader Hardt, 2009). After a new memory is learnt, it enters the process of encoding during which the memory is labile and capable of disruption until it becomes stabilised over a period of time (Nader Einarsson, 2010; Nader et al, 2000). This process is called consolidation and originally consisted of the theory that once stabilised in the brain, it remains fixed (Suzuki et al, 2004). This theory has been rebutted by the acceptance of reconsolidation, a theory that imposes the ideology that when memories are retrieved, through similar experiences (Lee, 2009), they become labile until, ... • 20. Romanticism And The Romantic Era Romanticism was a literary movement that swept through virtually every country of Europe, the United States, and Latin America that lasted from about 1750 to 1870. This period included philosophy, art, music, literature. Romantics believed that men and women should not be guided by rules placed on them by society but led by warm emotions that promoted a sense of freedom. William Blake was one of the poets that began the Romantic Age who promoted self expression but was weighed down by the importance and standards of religion. (Forward, 2014) Literary work during Romanticism had a strong emphasis in implementing nature, emotion over logic, imagination over reason, and no division between art and literature. These works placed focus on human personality affected by political and social causes. These became dominant themes in romantic poetry which made literature much more complex. (Wartz The Romantic Era 1999) During the same time, the Victorian Era was present in Britain which was stricken with poverty. Unlike the romanticism era, Victorians did not have much belief and faith in nature because they knew it would not help diminish poverty and other worldly issues. Though romanticism is very emotional, Victorian pieces are more complicated and sort of withdrawn. Victorian pieces also focus more on turning political issues into art and capturing individual experiences. These two eras set the foundation for artistic styles, literary schools, as well as, social, political and religious movements that flourished. It was a time of prosperity, broad imperial expansion, and great political reform. Contrasting to that was the horrible reality of child labor which persisted throughout the period. When a bill was passed stipulating that children under nine could not work in the textile industry, this in no way applied to other industries. In the late eighteenth and nineteenth century, child labor in England was prominent after the Great Fire of London in 1666. The proposition of my paper is to propose the homosexuality as an interdisciplinary theorization of Caravaggio s artwork done in Rome. The purpose of this paper is to not dig deeper into the homosexuality of Caravaggio but to give a different representation and perspective of homosexuality. This paper does not discuss the actual sexuality of Caravaggio, but more so how we perceive norms that can differentiate with connotations to sexuality in Rome during his lifetime. Homosexuality is intertwined with norm systems that concerns sexuality. Caravaggio has some significant traits in his early art work done in Rome such as sensualism and the extensive use of charm. The sensual charisma has been extensively explained in religious terms and given a simpler cultural context by Maurizio Calvesi. There have been many debates where Caravaggio was a homosexual or not, based on the paintings he had done that had young men and young boys with seductive trances on their faces. The few examples of this would be The Cardsharps, Boy bitten by a lizard, The Lute Player, Bacco, the Musicans, Boy with a Basket of Fruit, St John the Baptist. Also, to contribute to the assumption that Caravaggio was a homosexual was the private paintings he has done which include a naked Pluto, Jupiter, and Neptune, in order to symbolize a perfect human in an inhumane world. • 35. Ozone Levels In Houston Essay What is the difference between the ozone level in Houston and San Antonio? How are people exposed to ozone? What are the harmful effects of bad ozone and what is being done to reduce the ozone pollution? Introduction: Ozone also known as O3, is a colorless toxic gas formed by three oxygen atoms. The ozone occurs in the Earth s upper atmosphere, the stratosphere and in the lower atmosphere, the troposphere. The ozone can affect life in a good or bad way. Good ozone is in the upper atmosphere and occurs naturally, it has a protective layer that helps block harmful ultraviolet rays (EPA.Gov). Stratospheric ozone is formed naturally and it is about 6 through 30 miles above the Earth s surface and it also reduces the amount of harmful UV rays. Bad ozone is created by chemical reactions of oxides of nitrogen (NOx) and volatile organic compounds (VOCs) (EPA.Gov). Tropospheric or ground level ozone is what we breathe and are formed by chemical reactions of NOx and VOCs, these reactions have been viewed by the presence of heat and sunlight, resulting in higher ozone levels in the summer. The purpose of this paper is to identify the difference ozone levels in San ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Then on May 6th in went up 71 and on May 7th it went to 62. • 36. Middlesex by Jeffry Eugenides Middlesex by Jeffry Eugenides is a book about Calliope Cal Stephanides. In the beginning of the book, Cal, as he likes to be referred to as, tells us about his condition. Cal has a 5 Alpha Reductase pseudohermaphrodite which is, simply put, a condition that affects the sexual development of males before the birth of the child and also during puberty. In Middlesex, incestuous marriages were secretly accepted among the villagers which resulted in Cal being conceived by cousins. Before Cal s birth, the tradition of his family was gender prediction by his grandmother, Desdemona Stephanides. It seemed to be a traditional thing for the family from the Greek roots. When it was time to predict Tessie s, Cal s mother, baby, Desdemona declared that the child would be a boy. Milton, Cal s father, disagreed because there was no way the baby could be a boy scientifically. This could also be based on the fact that Tessie and Milton wanted a baby girl. Until the age of sixteen, Cal was raised as a girl even though he had a male brain biologically. The fact that Calliope was a child of incest was a huge factor on why he was born with the condition he was born with. 5 Alpha Reductace, as stated earlier, is a condition in which people are born male but their bodies fail to produce enough dihydrotestosterone (DHT). A shortage of DHT disrupts the formation of external sex organs before birth which is why it is understandable that Cal s parents raised him as a girl. The thing is, ... • 37. Terrorist Motivation Motivation for Terrorist Acts All terrorism is meant to accomplish one thing. What has been popularly called an act of terror is so termed because the perpetrators hope that they can affect the manner in which people perceive their safety and the government that is supposed to be protecting them. With this goal in mind, every act that can be called terrorist in origin wants to have a psychological component. The success or failure of the attempt can, in one way, be seen as effective depending on the news coverage of that event and the way that electronic and print news outlets view it. Recently, a terrorist plot in Indonesia was thwarted which could have done severe damage to the property and lives of foreign nationals in the region. The plot, which was against a variety of Western targets, was designed to create the maximum amount of chaos during a small period of time. It will be argued in this paper that even though the plot was stopped by the Indonesian army and police, it was a success in creating the desired psychological effect, and that other similarly foiled plots have also been successful. Taking the second argument first, the Twin Towers in New York were not bombed just one time. In the early 1990 s they were subject to a relatively small explosion (relative to what happened in 2001) with a larger plot doused by police. Unfortunately for the terrorist group, their larger plan did not work, but it caused a panic among many people who wondered if the US was ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 38. Essay about Should Adult Content Music Be Removed from the... Frank Zappa really called it. As I was listening to him speak, I found myself in agreement with everything he said in the clip shown in Blackboard; much of what he, John Denver and Dee Snider said echoes my sentiments. I especially agree with his comments that the basis for the PMRC was a distraction from other issues that the Senate was attempting to sneak by an unsuspecting American public; furthermore, I believe this served as a means to further Al Gore s political agenda. Tipper Gore resigning from the PMRC in 1992 after Al became vice president proves just that. Additionally, I too believe that the Senate Committee hearings were an abuse of power, and also a major conflict of interest to head or preside as a member of any committee ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Does the 1st amendment protect their freedom of speech? Again, absolutely and resoundingly, yes. John Denver stated this eloquently, saying that suppression should not be tolerated in society and censorship is the first step to suppression; he continues on likening it to Nazi Germany; which banned and burned books. Is their material pornographic ? Explicit language, most definitely, pornographic, in my opinion, no. However, to others, maybe; since the word graphic can be used to mean illustrative, pictorial, drawn, diagrammatic, visual, in this sense, not necessarily. Used in the context of the other meanings of graphic; such as, explicit, lifelike, realistic, vivid, striking, detailed, full, clear, leaving nothing to the imagination, than I would say yes it could be considered pornographic. Is the 2LC album cover derogatory towards women? I do not believe it is, the cover depicts women in thong bikini swim suits; which you see women wearing on beaches everywhere in the world. Can you think of any example of men being placed in a sexist role similar to the depiction of women on the 2LC album cover? Yes, I can. On the cover and inside pages of Playgirl magazine; which was founded in 1973, during the height of the feminist movement in response to men s magazines such as Playboy, founded in 1953; and Penthouse, founded in 1965; which we all know featured similar photos of women. • 39. Sexism In Christian Grey Christian Grey in 2015 film Fifty Shades of Grey, originally a novel by E. L. James, is the man of all women s dreams. Young, good looking, successful, wealthy, well mannered, charismatic, fit, and sexy. He takes consent in a sexual relationship extremely seriously, so much so that he creates a whole legal contract for a woman to sign before engaging in sexual activities. For Anastasia, the film s female protagonist, he escorts her on his private helicopter, gives her the most extravagant presents, and even pays for her birth control pills. How generous of him. On top of all that, he s hot, so the audience exits the cinema applauding how Christian Grey is extremely attractive and perfect. His blatant disrespect for mutual consent and partner s ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Christian s manipulation of Anastasia is especially notable, as he eventually brings Anastasia along on BDSM practices that she never had a passion for. All he had to do was simply justify his violent tendencies to Anastasia and the audience, which he successfully fulfills through the veil of generosity. On the surface, Christian does all things that a heterosexual woman may want. He makes time to meet Anastasia, he buys her luxurious presents that she could have never afforded on her own, takes her on adventures such as glider riding, respects her input on sexual matters, and lets her into his personal boundaries by sharing intimate stories about his sorrowful early life. Such behavior, however, only functions to disguise Christian s sexual violence and maniacal attachment to Anastasia, and portray him as a charismatic romantic. Fifty Shades of Grey, once it was released, became the ultimate sexual fantasy for heterosexual women around the world, implementing an idea that male authoritativeness is okay as long as he covers himself as a generous (and hot) knight in shining armor. With the second movie of the series, Fifty Shades Darker, on the verge of its release, the concern deepens for how long will Christian be seen behind his ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 40. The Is Not The Only Accusation Made By God Against Israel... Idolatry was not the only accusation made by God against Israel and Judah. Corruption had become the norm for the priest, leaders, businessmen, and common man alike. The people of these nations cared only about what they had and wanted. They would lie, cheat, steal, and even kill to get what they wanted. Their priests would only teach if they were paid. God gave the priests a position of trust and responsibility to be the caretakers of the people. They were supposed to be the shepherds, not the oppressors, of God s people. Instead, they turned their backs on God s law and began selling themselves for money, power, and approval while they hid behind the appearance of righteousness. God warned them that all of the wealth and possessions they had prostituted themselves to get would once again be used to buy other prostitutes. This statement may be confusing to some so look at what God is saying. The people of Israel sold their integrity, morals, and beliefs for pleasure, popularity, and personal gain. God is now telling them that all of these things will be taken from them and Satan will use them to lure other people into the same type of prostitution. God s warnings and accusations that are recorded in the books of the Major and Minor Prophets are not just for these ancient Kingdoms. They apply to our world today. If we focus on His accusations of evil and not the people or nations that these prophets warned, we can see the same rebellion and wickedness in our ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 41. Should We Legalize Prostitution Essay Should we legalize prostitution in the US? The laws regarding prostitution, often called the oldest profession in the world , have been facing changes for many years. They are multiple attitudes regarding prostitution and opinions on the connotation this word should have but the idea people have of sex worker is usually negative. On a legal matter sex work has been discussed many time and laws regarding this act varies around the world. Some countries found this act immoral and think that it should not be accepted on some ethical and legal concepts while other countries accepts it not only on a legal manner but also as a way of making a living for those who decided for themselves that this is what they want to do. A lot of questions regarding the decision we should make about the legal aspect of this work are in relation to the impact it can have on the society and on the workers itself. Four different views approach this subject; the criminalization of the act, the abolition of the act, the decriminalization of the act or the legalization of it. (p.44 why is prostitution criminalized?) Criminalization is the one presently established in the US. It means that all parties involved in the act are open to criminal punishment. The abolitionist approach is not to punish the sex worker but punishing only third parties. Decriminalization means that the act is not longer subject to legal consequences and their work is consider an independent business. For the legalization the ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

She created a few exercises to help the actors and actresses practice by themselves. She states that when doing these exercises, to not look for interesting events and to use real props. She really stresses the importance of rehearsing your lines. Basic Object Exercises: The way that you rehearse should be definite and concise. Practice a lot but when actually performing it, act as if it was impulsive. This text helped me to understand Hagen s form and approach to acting. Whenever I see people act on TV, I think, wow! The way that you talk to yourself is different than the way you talk to others, especially an audience. You may be more confident and ready in front of yourself but less confident in front of others so again, practicing, in front of a group of friends or audience can help you prepare better.
