Language Techniques Used In Macbeth
Shakespeare uses many language techniques, which tells us exactly what Macbeth, is thinking
throughout this act.
Is this a dagger I see before me is rhetoric language, which emphasizes his amount of faith in
himself. This is the first line of the poem and it shows us the mental state of Macbeth as he is slowly
slipping into insanity.
Rhetoric language Is language designed to have a persuasive or impressive effect?
Art thou not, fatal vision, sensible to feeling as to sight? This is also rhetoric language as Macbeth
is addressing the dagger without saying the word dagger.
The word Dagger is used throughout the poem. The dagger symbolizes blood and gore.
Mine eyes are made the fools o the other sense, This is a statement with two

Research Paper On Plastic Pollution
Joshua Oldenkamp
Dr.Arturo Vega
October 30,2017
Policy Analysis Paper:
Introduction:
While taking one of my SMC courses at St.Mary s University, my professor began a discussion on
plastics pollution and the effects it has on the environment. My professor began to talk more and
more about this uncharted territory known as plastic pollution I never knew plastic was so harmful
and what it is doing to our environment. What I knew then does not compare to what I know now.
Everything that I have included in this research paper stems from what I have learned and the
policies we have in the United States, the state of Texas, and the city of San Antonio.
Issue Definition:
Here I identified the who what when and how and the main issue ... Show more content on

The Solution: would be to either provide incentivized programs and or tax on plastic, or leave
everything the way it is.
I will attempt to analyze our current use of programs to prevent further plastic pollution the San
Antonio area, and whether or not we stay with the status quo, implement buyback programs or tax
people who want plastic bags.
The defining issue at hand is the increasing plastic presence, the pollution it brings along with, the
disposal we provide, or do not provide. Plastic is going to be one of the leading issues in the next
few years, right next to climate change.
Background: Plastic is made up of carbon, this is a man made product which is specifically from
oil. There were other creations before the discovery of plastic, in 1923 it was the Macintosh and
rubber, then in 1839 the company Goodyear combined rubber and sulfur creating moldable stable
substance, this process is known as vulcanization. In the 1850 s though 1870 s there was the ivory
trade and billiard balls, and in 1909 the create of modern plastics, Bakelite. Then in 1930 we created
the thermoplastic.
There are 7 different type of plastics, polyethylene, polystyrene, polyethylene terephthalate,
polyvinyl chloride, polytetrafluorethylene, polyvinylidene, and polypropylene. Polyethylene, is the
more commonly found plastic, this is our plastic bags, soda and water bottles, plastic films and
their cases, and garbage bags. Polystyrene, in

Pros And Cons Of The Parliament Of Great Britain
Scotland and England have a long standing history with one another. They have always been in
conflict with one another, especially when England tried to take over Scotland. But eventually,
England succeeded in their attempts and, in 1706, their acts of union were passed. They eventually
took effect in May 1, 1707. That day the Parliament of Great Britain was formed. The reason each
side agreed on the Union was because both sides had something to gain from it. The English did not
want the Scottish to choose a monarch from the one sitting on the English throne. On the other
hand, the Scottish had a money problem from their attempt to colonize the Isthmus of Panama in
the 1690s. But a large stretch of time has elapsed since that Union. A vote was held in Scotlandon
September 18, 2014 on whether or not Scotland should succeed from the United Kingdom. The
Scottish had a rather large to make. Both independence from and dependence on the United
Kingdom have their advantages and disadvantages. If argued in the point of view of Scotland, there
are many pros for the whole kingdom. The first advantage is in the government. The Scottish
Parliament is more democratic than the... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The reason this result came about was because of all the disadvantages there is to succeeding. The
prime reason Scotland voted to not succeed was because unity is strength. Being a part of a strong,
rich, influential state such as the United Kingdom gives them a global presence. If independent,
Scotland s voice on the world stage would decrease tremendously. Another large reason is the
United Kingdom will cut them off financially. Since Scotland is a part of the UK, the country gives
them money so they can sustain themselves. Without that connection, the UK has no reason to shell
out money to them. This is an economic gamble to Scotland, especially in times of recession and

Midwest Research Paper
ay
There are many different great places to live in the United States. Each region of the US is very
different from the others. My favorite region is the Midwest. I like the Midwest for many reasons,
but mainly because it contains my hometown. States in the Midwest vary from South Dakota, to
Kansas, to Wisconsin, and Ohio. Illinois, my home state, is also in the Midwest. South Dakota has
a well known tourist attraction. This is known as Mount Rushmore. Kansas is known as a pretty
barren state. Along with Illinois, they have lots of agriculture. The main crops in the Midwest
include corn, soybeans, and wheat. Wisconsin is called the Badger state, but is known for the
large amount of dairy produced there. Supposedly, there are more cows in Wisconsin than there
are people. There are also several big cities in the Midwest. The biggest city is Chicago, Illinois,
which is situated right along Lake Michigan. Indianapolis, Columbus, and Detroit are the next
largest cities in the Midwest. Detroit, Michigan is home to automobiles where over one million
cars are produced every year. Milwaukee, Wisconsin is the last of the largest cities in the Midwest
and is famous for brewing. This would explain why their major league baseball team is ... Show

I like the Midwest because it has such a great diversity. You can go be a farmer and grow crops or
be a farmer and raise dairy cows. If you are more of the city slicker type and don t like to live rural,
than you can go live in the big cities such as Chicago. If you like to fish there are many places to go
to or you could visit any of the five largest freshwater lakes in the world. There is also lots of
hunting in the Midwest. The list could go on and on but I m afraid I would bore you too much. I
enjoy the Midwest for the reasons stated above and because it s where I grew up most my life. I
don t see a reason to move, so if I could choose I would probably stay here for the rest of my

The Importance of itrogen in the Growth and Development of...
Nitrogen is the most important nutrient required for growth and development of plants. Earth s
atmosphere contains about 78% nitrogen gas but majority of this remains unavailable to the plants.
An important feature of our planet ecosystem is the nitrogen cycle, by which nitrogen is converted
into different several other forms. The process of conversion involves both biological and non
biological processes. Nitrogencycle consists of nitrogen fixation, assimilation, mineralization,
nitrification and denitrification (Postgate 1998). The process of conversion of molecular nitrogen
to ammoniais known as nitrogen fixation.
Biological nitrogen fixation is the mechanism of reduction of atmospheric nitrogen to a
metabolically active form exclusively by microorganisms. Biological nitrogen fixation (BNF)
involves the enzymatic reduction of N2 to ammonia (NH3 ). Conversion of N2 to ammonia is
catalyzed by a metalloenzyme called nitrogenase. Reaction has a high activation energy because
molecular N2 is an unreactive gas with a triple bond between the two N2 atoms. Therefore, N2
reduction requires at least 8 electrons and 16 ATP moles, 4 ATPs per pair of electrons.
N2 + 8H+ + 8eВЇ + 16 ATP = 2NH3 + H2 + 16 ADP + 16 P
Three genetically distinct nitrogenase systems have been found in diazotrophs, namely Nif, Vnf
and Anf in which the active site central metals are Mo, V, and Fe, respectively (Zhao et al 2006).
The enzyme contains two components that are named according to their metal

What Are Primates Unique
Question 1: What defines a primate What defines a primate? A primate is a unique and intelligent
creature. We as humans fall under the primate category, but there are several types of primates
somewhere between one hundred and ninety and three hundred and fifty species to be a bit more
precise. Primate are unique because of the anatomical characteristics that separate them from other
mammals. For an example their hands and feet, their shoulders and hips, and even their brain those
are only a few traits to mention that separate them from other animals. To better define and
understand primates, it is important to breakdown the primateorder. Primates can be broken into two
suborders: Prosimians and Anthropoids. Prosimians are considered the... Show more content on

this book it leaves you wanting to read more, It s a good read all the way through. This book
tells a story about a soldier and Olympic runner named Louis Zamperini who becomes a captive
to the Japanese and is imprisoned and question throughout his time there. While he is there he is
treated harshly from many of the soldiers they did not take a liking to him. The main antagonize
was a man named the Bird a Japanese head officer who puts Louie zamperini through most of his

A Streetcar Named Desire Dysfunctional Family
The study spotlights on the familial dysfunctionality as presented in the plays of Tennessee
Williams. The families presented in most of his plays are dysfunctional because of multiple
incompatibilities. A family whose interrelationships serve to detract from, rather than promote, the
emotional and physical health and well being of its members. Dysfunctional families are
characterized by following characteristics which are blaming or failure of responsibility, loose or
rigid rules or relationships, and set familyrules. Sexual or physical abuse, addiction to alcohol or
drugs, behavior problems, mental diseases, and aggression can all attribute to dysfunctional
families, physical evidence found in The Glass Menagerie, A Cat on Hot Tin Roof and A Street
Car Named Desire. All these families are dysfunctional families, and overpowering coincides with
psychological symptoms and characteristics. Like a physical disease, the mental and emotional
disease shows common symptoms, and with these symptoms psychologists can diagnose and chart
the severity of the disease. The most common symptoms are rigid discussion which may be
confused or chaotic, disagreements that offends the members of family, a disagreeable

How the Tang-Song Era Is a Golden Age
The definition of a Golden Age is a time of economic, political, technological, and social
improvement and advance at a great level. The Tang and Song Dynasties are very important to the
history of Chinese civilization. The Tang Era is the most well known dynasty in Chinese history,
mainly because the empire was the largest, richest and most sophisticated state in the world at the
time. The Song Era had far reaching impacts economically, culturally, and socially. During the
Song Era, there was major development in urbanization. The Tang and Song Eras are commonly
referred to as being the basis of a Golden Age of Chinese civilization because they were two major

Manufacturing was also a very important part of the Tang Dynasty. Manufacturing was done in
both state owned and privately owned workshops. Mostly located in larger cities, crafts such as
brocade weaving, papermaking, iron smelting, casting, pottery were done. The textile industry
prospered. The silk products from Songzhou and Bozhou were most famous for their high quality.
Marked improvements were introduced in the manufacture of pottery and porcelain. The porcelain
from the Xingzhou kiln was particularly noted for its quality and described as white as silver and
snow .
The Song dynasty, also called the Sung dynasty, was the Chinese reign during the late 10th 13th
centuries that, like the Tang, had a far reaching impact economically, culturally, and socially. The
period is divided into two parts: the Northern Song and the Southern Song. Economically,
commerce, trade, and manufacturing grew exponentially. Culturally, Confucianism witnessed new
life as it undergirded the growth of the Chinese middle class, and socially, a revision of the Chinese
civil service examination widened government representation. The Song dynasty could easily be
argued as the renaissance of China.
China s population was growing rapidly, almost doubling between 750 and 1100. Because of this
huge population boom, paper money was established, and the trade industry grew. There were many
advances that were made, such as technological improvements

My First Day At Work
First Day At Work It was my first day at work and I thought to myself, Is my hair straight? Are
these the right clothes? Are the people going to be mean? I walked in with confidence in my face
as the sliding doors opened for me. It was busy and every register was full of people. At least ten
customers were in each line. I walked in and walked to the supervisor. I m ready to work, I said
with a big smile. He looked at me as welcoming as ever and walked me over to behind the counter.
He gave me an old, plastic bag full of money and a solid, black register tray that looked well used.
Count this, he said in a frantic manner as I heard a loud crash take place across the store.
He rushed over to the scene, leaving me by myself as I began to count. I was confused.
How am I going to count this? I said sarcastically.
I asked around for a piece of paper, but no one had a piece on them. I counted all the money in
my head, trying not to lose count. It was hard to focus while listening to a coworker of mine
talking to one of his friends. I thought to myself, rolling my eyes, He s going to be fun to work
with... NOT. He looked my way confused, wondering what I was doing. He then realized what I
was doing and rushed over to me.
He said laughing, Are you having trouble counting the money?
No, I can count just fine I replied angrily.
He replied by pointing towards an old adding machine that was cleverly hidden under a bag with
the logo of the store on it. I removed the bag

Disadvantages Of Food Indonalds
To keep up with competitors, food retailers are adding restaurants and carryouts to their stores.
Installing restaurants within stores adds convenience for consumers, offering no frills brands to
compete with nationally advertised brands, providing economy family packs to compete with food
clubs, operating fast checkouts lanes, and providing banking within the stores, to prevent them
from coming off as monopolistic. Consumers wantto shop at stores that are easier for them. By
adding restaurants to stores, consumers may say that buying foodfrom those restaurants may seem
easier than going home to cook a meal with the food items they just bought. As the saying goes,
never go to the store hungry because having restaurants within a store will attract more customers
because they are hungry while they are shopping. Food retailers want their stores to seem more
convenient and better for shoppers, that they must find ways to draw more customers in and by
adding in store restaurants and carryouts they can do so.
Instead of going to different stores because of the different prices, customers are going to pay for
items no matter the price, so they do not have to travel to another store. If the store offers those
products, then customers will buy the items instead because it is more convenient. Even though the
price of one item may be cheaper at another store, customers are still going to put the item in the
basket because they do not want to have to get out at another store just for

Food Quotes About Food
I Importance of food for the first generation immigrants 1) In Indian culture
Food is very important in Indian culture, morality and spirituality speaking. In the novel, there is a
ceremony that involves food : the annaprasan. It celebrates the growth of Hindu babies and their
transition from a liquid diet to a solid diet. Babies eat rice, an asiatic item. It symbolizes the
entrance of the world for them and food is used for this transition.
Like Appadurai Arjun said in Gastro Politics in HinduSouth Asia , Indians are sharing food with
others. The importance of being a perfect host for their guests in order to honour them is seen in

Couples Therapy for Adult Survivors of Childhood Sexual Abuse
As many as one in three females have experienced sexual abuse by the age of 18 (Russell, 1986).
Many survivors of childhood sexual abuse (CSA) experience negative psychological symptoms
(Browne Finkelhor, 1986; Kendall Tackett, Williams, L. M., Finkelhor, 1993). These women may
later in life engage in relationships. The negative impact of sexual abuse could result in challenges
faced by the relationship due to shame and difficulty with trust (Kochka Carolan, 2002; MacIntosh
Johnson, 2008). CSA may also result in sexual challenges for the couple (Kochka Carolan, 2002).
Research has found that couples therapy can be of significance to the healing of the CSA survivor
as well as functioning and growth in the relationship (Kochka ... Show more content on

The researchers analyzed the results with cross tabulation, chi square statistics, analysis of variance,
and multiple regression. Most of the subjects were able to respond to sexual stimulation and reach
orgasm but did not enjoy it. The women who perceived themselves to be adjusted to their abuse still
had some sexual dysfunction.
Feinauer suggested several implications for practice from this study. She proposed that therapists
who work with couples experiencing difficulty with intimacy of both sexual and emotional nature
should consider sexual abuse history of the partners involved because without handling the sexual
abuse related issues , the intervention of therapy will not be very effective. She stated that if the
CSA survivor continued to believe and act out the idea that they have to perform sexually in order
to get love, acceptance, security, then they cannot participate in sexually intimate relationships.
Feinauer referenced other literature and previous studies of her own to add to the results and
concluded that women who have been sexually abused should: deal with their unresolved anger
and betrayal around the abuse; accept that they are not at fault for the abuse; externalize the fault
to the perpetrator so they can discontinue to have worry and fear of all men; and see their partner
as separate from the abuser so they can have an easier time in solving their sexual problems. She
ends on the statement that if survivors of sexual abuse

Illegal Immigrants Cause High Unemployment in Califorina...
California is one of the United States largest producers of agricultural goods. As a result, there
has always been a demand for more labor to meet the quantity demanded. In order to fill the
demand for labor, workers from Mexico or other countries south of the United States border
crossed the border into California illegally, hoping to find work. In other cases, citizens from other
countries will apply for visas in the United States and then overstay their visas. These workers
become undocumented migrant workers, roaming from farm to farm, hoping that they can make
enough money to send home. Farmers hire these workers and pay them illegally with cash. A recent

As a result, it can be inferred that perhaps undocumented migrant workers benefit California s
economy more than they hurt the economy. There is an increasing number of undocumented
immigrants, but field agents and census takers are unable to obtain a semi accurate count of how
many undocumented immigrants actually exist in the United States. These immigrants often hide
from government officials in order to avoid being caught, and subsequently being deported back to
their home country. As they are also migrant workers and constantly move around the state from
farm to farm, it is also difficult to try and formulate a number of how many illegal or undocumented
immigrants reside in the state of California. (Immigrant and Migrant workers in the Santa Maria
Valley, California 2) Therefore, it is difficult to estimate how many jobs the undocumented migrant
workers have taken from legal citizens that are looking for work within California s agricultural
sector. A report from the LA times published in 2010 estimates the number of undocumented
immigrants residing within California at around 12 million. Although it is difficult to say whether

have a large impact on California s economy. People assume that undocumented workers are taking

Satellite Broadband Essay
In recent years the demand for high speed networking, driven mainly by the rapid expansion of the
Internet, has been growing at an exponential rate. While a wide range of wireline and wireless
solutions offering broadband connectivity are or will shortly be available, communication satellites
are beginning to emerge as an attractive solution in providing broadbandconnectivityto a variety of
users.
The wide area or global coverage of satellites enables service provision to a large number of
dispersed users and solve the expensive quot;last mile quot; issue without dedicating to each user
cable, fiber, switching equipment ports, etc. The broadcast nature of satellites supports efficiently
the transmission of the same message to a large ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
A new generation of broadband satellite constellations promises to provide high speed Internet
connectivity to areas not served by optical fiber, cable or other high speed terrestrial connections.
However, using satellite links to supply high bandwidth has been difficult due to problems with
inefficient performance of the Internet s TCP/IP protocol suite over satellite. We describe an
architecture for improving the performance of TCP/IP protocols over heterogeneous network
environments, especially networks containing satellite links. The end to end connection is split into
segments, and the protocol on the satellite segment is optimized for the satellite link characteristics.
TCP congestion control mechanisms are maintained on each segment, with some coupling between
the segments to produce the effect of end to end TCP flow control. We have implemented this
design and present results showing that using such gateways can improve throughput for individual
connections by a large factor over paths containing a satellite link.
SAN ANTONIO (BUSINESS WIRE) April 24, 2000 The explosion of the Internet in the 1990s and
subsequent demand for high speed Internet connections has put an immense strain on terrestrial
communications networks.
Consequently, satellite broadband technology is now emerging as an important alternative to land
based services such as cable or DSL.

Analysis of Anne W Brigman s Painting The Heart of the...
The Heart of the Storm The Heart of the Storm, was completed in 1902, by Anne W. Brigman, and
was given to the Getty Museum as a gift Michael and Jane Wilson Collection. This artwork has a
broad range of meaning, and may indicate storms just about anywhere in the world.
The Heart of the Storm evokes a feeling of impending damage and most people can understand
that feeling regardless of where they live. Those who live in the Southern states, along the Gulf
of Mexico, may particularly be subject to hurricanes, tropical storms and tornadoes if they live in
rural areas. People who live on the Eastern seaboard are also prone to experiencing these types of
storms, but to a lesser degree. Anne
Brigman s painting is universal because almost everyone has experienced some type of
storm at some point in their lives.
Because of the universality of this type of work, it is hard to pin point exactly what location this
painting depicts. It seems to be of biblical nature, as both people in the painting are scantily clad.
The garb that both people are wearing, would remind you of paintings often displayed in the
Bible. You can see it is a man and a woman, very likely lovers or husband and wife and they are
clinging to one another outdoors. The clouds are not their typical white, fluffy shape as you would
see on a sunny day. They are dark, low hanging and ominous, as usual whenever a storm hits.
The visual elements are very subtle and the black clouds

The Chemistry Of Metal Bonding And Electrostatic Forces
Context
This Extended Response Task (ERT) will explore the chemistry involved in alloys, where
comparisons on composition and melting points will be explored. Furthermore, principles of
metallic bonding and electrostatic forces will be investigated to draw conclusion about changes in
melting point over various compositions. Along with this, the structure of interstitial and
substitutional alloys will be considered, providing insight into the main component of many
industrial products. Also, the chemistry involved in the production of soap will be explored with
particular focus on how the manufacturing process has changed and the effects that soaps have on
our surrounding environment.
Item 1 Oresome Metals : Alloys (High Tin Bronze) (KCU, IP, EC) 500 words
Alloys are used widely in our society for a number of purposes including in machinery and
commercial products such as bowls made of stainless steel. A substance consisting of a mixture of
two or more metals (or a metal with a non metal) is defined as an alloy. The alloy which will be
assessed in this ERT is High Tin Bronze. The composition of High Tin Bronze is of mainly copper
(86%), tin (7.5%) and lead (0.3%) along with the other minor trace elements outlined in Table 1.0.
High Tin Bronze is a wear resistant, hard, strong alloy which is used for many (2). Being hard
wearing and corrosion resistant, high tin bronze is used mainly for valves and plumbing, water
appliances, pump components and gears (3).

Economic and Social Costs of Inequality in Australia
Analyse the economic and social costs and benefits of inequality in distribution of income in
Australia. Income inequality describes the extent to which income is distributed unevenly among
residents of an area. High levels of inequality indicate that a small number of people receive most
of the total income, and that most people receive only a small share of the total. There are many
advantages and disadvantages associated with the inequitable distribution of income. Income
inequality can lead to an increase in the productive capacity of resources and so an increase in real
GDP per capita. Economic benefits are mainly derived from the incentive effects of inequality.
Firstly, inequality encourages the labour force to increase... Show more content on Helpwriting.net

Class divisions can result in tensions between people and different regions. Wage disputes
between workers and employers in which workers try to improve their income levels are a
common cause of dispute. These divisions can sometimes lead to social and economic
instability. As shown earlier, inequality leads to poverty problems but the facts have not been
explored. Australia has a very high level of relative poverty with 12.2% of Australians living
below the poverty line, defined as receiving an income below 50% of the median income level.
Poverty tends to trap families into a vicious cycle of low incomes and limited economic
opportunities. High poverty levels also tend to be associated with increased levels of crime,
suicide, disease and reduced life expectancy. As you can see, there are many economic and social
costs and benefits of inequality in the distribution of income but in general, having high levels of
income inequality is bad for an economy and individuals so Australia has continually attempted to

Gaar Uk (General Anti-Avoidance Rule)
General Anti avoidance rule
Tax avoidance has become a massive topic of discussion over the past few years, given the
current global economic conditions and the cuts to the public sector by the government as a
result. This led to increased anger from the public who perceive avoidance by many of the
country s wealthiest people in a time of austerity as greed. Perhaps the most notable demonstration
of this anger can be seen in the actions of the group UK Uncut, who for the past year have been
organising protests at shops owned by retail tycoon Philip Green who, as the poster boy for tax
avoidance, paid a ВЈ1.2 billion dividend to his Monaco resident wife.
It is estimated that avoidance schemes in the UK cost the treasury roughly ВЈ25 ... Show more

I know every little helps, but when you consider the UKs national debt stands at over ВЈ900billion,
I find myself wondering if the introduction of a GAAR is going to be far more hassle than it s

The Institute of Charted Accountants of Scotland are in favour of the introduction of a GAAR
and made the point that, too many of the best brains in Britain are focussed on tax avoidance, to
the chancellor. I do have to agree that it does seem to be madness to have so many thousands of
intelligent people working on ways to reduce the amount of tax revenue the government receives
but I would have to disagree with the rest of their argument that the labour could be redeployed
more effectively, adding more value to the economy as I m not sure where else several thousand
tax specialists could be redeployed at a time of widespread unemployment.
Those in favour of a GAAR also point to the apparent success of similar laws in countries that
have used the law for years such as Australia or Canada. Despite initial problems with its
introduction in Australia, a GAAR has been in law for over a decade and while it has been used
relatively rarely, it acts as a measure of control over avoidance activity reducing the amount of
schemes that are created therefore reducing the workload for the tax authority. More countries are
now following the Australians and Canadians lead with South Africa and India introducing

The company can split up the project into a series of rollout phases, which will extend the project
timelines, but reduce the workload pressure being placed on the current engineering staff. This
would save the company money in the short term, but could potentially impact their competitive
edge in the long term if the competition develops a similar product first. The other option is to act
on Director of Marketing proposal to hire contractors in order to take on the increased workload.
The company would have a dedicated resource for the project while at the same time allowing the
engineering staff to continue to provide a high level of quality service to existing customers. The
company would have to make a short term budget sacrifice, exacerbating the current budget crisis;
however the new product would launch before the end of the year and give AcuScan the
competitive edge it needs to increase sales over the long term.
It is proposed that AcuScan align budgeting goals to accommodate the current project timelines and
making a small sacrifice in costs to aid in the development by hiring outside contractors.
In order to encourage collaboration between departments, the Director of Marketing must allow that
the contractors are selected and managed by the Senior Engineer, who will be the most
knowledgeable as to the minimal extra man power needed and the skill set required to accomplish
the tasks.

European Imperialism In Asia
What exactly is imperialism? Imperialism is the seizure of a country or territory by a stronger
country (Beck et al. 339), with New Imperialism being a time of colonial expansion by Japan, the
United States, and European countries during the late 19th and early 20th centuries (New
Imperialism). While there were many reasons Europeans imperialized, one of the biggest was the
advancements that spurred from the Industrial Revolution, a transition to machine made goods that
began in England in the middle 1700s (Beck et al. 283). This allowed conquering another country
to be very successful. Several of those countries included those in Asia. European imperialism
affected Asia in various ways, both positive and negative. While it somewhat improved the lives of
the people in Asia, it was also extremely detrimental to them with the poverty, racism, and cultural

because of some problems involving the intended parents. The women who delivers is the
gestational surrogate or carrier. The parents are called as intended parents . They are fully involved
in the pregnancy, present at birth and become the child s parents after its birth. There are two types

When would you suggest a couple to opt for surrogacy?
A2.) Surrogacy is an arrangement when a woman agrees to carry a pregnancy for another couple
who will become the newborn s parents after birth of the baby.
The couple is asked to opt for surrogacy if the patient does not have a uterus, she has problems in
uterus, she is unable to carry pregnancy safely, pregnancy is medically impossible, serious
medical condition that could be exacerbated by pregnancy or cause significant risk to fetus,
biological inability to conceive( homosexual couple). It is also an option if the couple has had
multiple failures in IVF.
If the surrogate receives monetary compensation, it is called commercial surrogacy. If no payment
is done except for medical reimbursement and basic pregnancy expenses, it is called as altruistic
surrogacy.
Q3) What kind of medical, emotional and legal/paperwork preparations that a couple requires to
undergo before opting for surrogacy?
A3) Decision to use surrogacy is very complicated and psychosocial education and counselling by a
qualified mental health professional should be given to all intended parents. Genetic parents should
undergo genetic evaluation, complete medical and physical evaluation. Before acceptance and
within six months of creating the embryos to be transferred, genetic parents undergo the following

Anecdotal Evidence And Its Impact On The Progress And...
Anecdotal evidence is collected in a casual or informal manner and relies heavily or entirely on
personal testimony. When compared to other types of evidence, anecdotal evidence is generally
regarded as of limited value to a number of potential weaknesses unless documentation and/or
statistical evidence is maintained. Anecdotal evidenceis sometimes considered within the scope of
scientific method. For example the use of case studies in medicine rely on anecdotal evidence,
because some anecdotal evidence can be both empirical and verifiable. This applies also to
education.
Our assertion, particularly when dealing with students and parents, is that anecdotal information,
gleaned from conversation, oral reporting and similar, generally provides far more effective
feedback on the progress and development of the student, delineates learning concerns more
concisely and allows constructive consideration of possible resolutions.

Why Is Abu Ghraib Cruel
Abu Ghraib is Not Yet in the Grave According to jail time served by prisoners, it is less
punishable to abuse foreign prisoners than it is to deal drugs. The average time served by the
eleven offenders involved during the Abu Ghraib scandal was 13.1 months, compared to the
average of five years for drug dealers (CNN Library). Only five out of the eleven people directly
involved actually served time at all, with the most time served being 6 years out of an original 10

state regulated programs reserved for those who live under the minimum accepted income which is

Children With An Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder
Today in the educational system, I think one of the most looked down upon inequalities are
students with an attention deficit hyperactivity disorder, also known as ADHD. Especially in high
school, living with ADHD is extremely challenging because students have a harder time
concentrating during class, understanding the material given to them, or even taking tests and
doing homework unlike other students. It seems the school system, and even society judges
students based on what level they are on. For example if a student has straight A s in honors
classes, that student would get all the praise, while a student who has average or lower grades in
regular classes, that student would be ignored, get ridiculed or sometimes considered irrelevant. I
myself am not officially diagnosed with ADHD, but I consider myself have a larger amount of
inattention, so I have witnessed these types of inequalities in high schoolbefore. In Jonathan Kozols

Is this a dagger I see before me is rhetoric language, which emphasizes his amount of faith in himself. This is the first line of the poem and it shows us the mental state of Macbeth as he is slowly slipping into insanity. Rhetoric language Is language designed to have a persuasive or impressive effect? Art thou not, fatal vision, sensible to feeling as to sight? This is also rhetoric language as Macbeth is addressing the dagger without saying the word dagger. The word Dagger is used throughout the poem. The dagger symbolizes blood and gore. • 3. Research Paper On Plastic Pollution Joshua Oldenkamp Dr.Arturo Vega October 30,2017 Policy Analysis Paper: Introduction: While taking one of my SMC courses at St.Mary s University, my professor began a discussion on plastics pollution and the effects it has on the environment. My professor began to talk more and more about this uncharted territory known as plastic pollution I never knew plastic was so harmful and what it is doing to our environment. What I knew then does not compare to what I know now. Everything that I have included in this research paper stems from what I have learned and the policies we have in the United States, the state of Texas, and the city of San Antonio. Issue Definition: Here I identified the who what when and how and the main issue ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... The Solution: would be to either provide incentivized programs and or tax on plastic, or leave everything the way it is. I will attempt to analyze our current use of programs to prevent further plastic pollution the San Antonio area, and whether or not we stay with the status quo, implement buyback programs or tax people who want plastic bags. The defining issue at hand is the increasing plastic presence, the pollution it brings along with, the disposal we provide, or do not provide. Plastic is going to be one of the leading issues in the next few years, right next to climate change. Background: Plastic is made up of carbon, this is a man made product which is specifically from oil. There were other creations before the discovery of plastic, in 1923 it was the Macintosh and rubber, then in 1839 the company Goodyear combined rubber and sulfur creating moldable stable substance, this process is known as vulcanization. In the 1850 s though 1870 s there was the ivory trade and billiard balls, and in 1909 the create of modern plastics, Bakelite. Then in 1930 we created the thermoplastic. There are 7 different type of plastics, polyethylene, polystyrene, polyethylene terephthalate, polyvinyl chloride, polytetrafluorethylene, polyvinylidene, and polypropylene. Polyethylene, is the more commonly found plastic, this is our plastic bags, soda and water bottles, plastic films and their cases, and garbage bags. Polystyrene, in ... • 4. Pros And Cons Of The Parliament Of Great Britain Scotland and England have a long standing history with one another. They have always been in conflict with one another, especially when England tried to take over Scotland. But eventually, England succeeded in their attempts and, in 1706, their acts of union were passed. They eventually took effect in May 1, 1707. That day the Parliament of Great Britain was formed. The reason each side agreed on the Union was because both sides had something to gain from it. The English did not want the Scottish to choose a monarch from the one sitting on the English throne. On the other hand, the Scottish had a money problem from their attempt to colonize the Isthmus of Panama in the 1690s. But a large stretch of time has elapsed since that Union. A vote was held in Scotlandon September 18, 2014 on whether or not Scotland should succeed from the United Kingdom. The Scottish had a rather large to make. Both independence from and dependence on the United Kingdom have their advantages and disadvantages. If argued in the point of view of Scotland, there are many pros for the whole kingdom. The first advantage is in the government. The Scottish Parliament is more democratic than the... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... The reason this result came about was because of all the disadvantages there is to succeeding. The prime reason Scotland voted to not succeed was because unity is strength. Being a part of a strong, rich, influential state such as the United Kingdom gives them a global presence. If independent, Scotland s voice on the world stage would decrease tremendously. Another large reason is the United Kingdom will cut them off financially. Since Scotland is a part of the UK, the country gives them money so they can sustain themselves. Without that connection, the UK has no reason to shell out money to them. This is an economic gamble to Scotland, especially in times of recession and rising ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 5. Midwest Research Paper ay There are many different great places to live in the United States. Each region of the US is very different from the others. My favorite region is the Midwest. I like the Midwest for many reasons, but mainly because it contains my hometown. States in the Midwest vary from South Dakota, to Kansas, to Wisconsin, and Ohio. Illinois, my home state, is also in the Midwest. South Dakota has a well known tourist attraction. This is known as Mount Rushmore. Kansas is known as a pretty barren state. Along with Illinois, they have lots of agriculture. The main crops in the Midwest include corn, soybeans, and wheat. Wisconsin is called the Badger state, but is known for the large amount of dairy produced there. Supposedly, there are more cows in Wisconsin than there are people. There are also several big cities in the Midwest. The biggest city is Chicago, Illinois, which is situated right along Lake Michigan. Indianapolis, Columbus, and Detroit are the next largest cities in the Midwest. Detroit, Michigan is home to automobiles where over one million cars are produced every year. Milwaukee, Wisconsin is the last of the largest cities in the Midwest and is famous for brewing. This would explain why their major league baseball team is ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... I like the Midwest because it has such a great diversity. You can go be a farmer and grow crops or be a farmer and raise dairy cows. If you are more of the city slicker type and don t like to live rural, than you can go live in the big cities such as Chicago. If you like to fish there are many places to go to or you could visit any of the five largest freshwater lakes in the world. There is also lots of hunting in the Midwest. The list could go on and on but I m afraid I would bore you too much. I enjoy the Midwest for the reasons stated above and because it s where I grew up most my life. • 6. The Importance of itrogen in the Growth and Development of... Nitrogen is the most important nutrient required for growth and development of plants. Earth s atmosphere contains about 78% nitrogen gas but majority of this remains unavailable to the plants. An important feature of our planet ecosystem is the nitrogen cycle, by which nitrogen is converted into different several other forms. The process of conversion involves both biological and non biological processes. Nitrogencycle consists of nitrogen fixation, assimilation, mineralization, nitrification and denitrification (Postgate 1998). The process of conversion of molecular nitrogen to ammoniais known as nitrogen fixation. Biological nitrogen fixation is the mechanism of reduction of atmospheric nitrogen to a metabolically active form exclusively by microorganisms. Biological nitrogen fixation (BNF) involves the enzymatic reduction of N2 to ammonia (NH3 ). Conversion of N2 to ammonia is catalyzed by a metalloenzyme called nitrogenase. Reaction has a high activation energy because molecular N2 is an unreactive gas with a triple bond between the two N2 atoms. Therefore, N2 reduction requires at least 8 electrons and 16 ATP moles, 4 ATPs per pair of electrons. N2 + 8H+ + 8eВЇ + 16 ATP = 2NH3 + H2 + 16 ADP + 16 P Three genetically distinct nitrogenase systems have been found in diazotrophs, namely Nif, Vnf and Anf in which the active site central metals are Mo, V, and Fe, respectively (Zhao et al 2006). The enzyme contains two components that are named according to their metal ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

We as humans fall under the primate category, but there are several types of primates somewhere between one hundred and ninety and three hundred and fifty species to be a bit more precise. Primate are unique because of the anatomical characteristics that separate them from other mammals. For an example their hands and feet, their shoulders and hips, and even their brain those are only a few traits to mention that separate them from other animals. I walked in with confidence in my face as the sliding doors opened for me. It was busy and every register was full of people. At least ten customers were in each line. I walked in and walked to the supervisor. I m ready to work, I said with a big smile. I counted all the money in my head, trying not to lose count. It was hard to focus while listening to a coworker of mine talking to one of his friends. I thought to myself, rolling my eyes, He s going to be fun to work with... NOT. He looked my way confused, wondering what I was doing. He then realized what I was doing and rushed over to me. He said laughing, Are you having trouble counting the money? The primary outcome of the study found that there was a significant increase in positive mood levels when the participant was initiating the break up. On the other hand, those who were getting broken up with, displayed negative mood levels. The inferential statistics demonstrated that my hypotheses were supported. Installing restaurants within stores adds convenience for consumers, offering no frills brands to compete with nationally advertised brands, providing economy family packs to compete with food clubs, operating fast checkouts lanes, and providing banking within the stores, to prevent them from coming off as monopolistic. Consumers wantto shop at stores that are easier for them. By adding restaurants to stores, consumers may say that buying foodfrom those restaurants may seem easier than going home to cook a meal with the food items they just bought. As the saying goes, never go to the store hungry because having restaurants within a store will attract more customers because they are hungry while they are shopping. Food retailers want their stores to seem more convenient and better for shoppers, that they must find ways to draw more customers in and by adding in store restaurants and carryouts they can do so. Instead of going to different stores because of the different prices, customers are going to pay for items no matter the price, so they do not have to travel to another store. If the store offers those products, then customers will buy the items instead because it is more convenient. In the novel, there is a ceremony that involves food : the annaprasan. It celebrates the growth of Hindu babies and their transition from a liquid diet to a solid diet. Babies eat rice, an asiatic item. It symbolizes the entrance of the world for them and food is used for this transition. Like Appadurai Arjun said in Gastro Politics in HinduSouth Asia , Indians are sharing food with others. The importance of being a perfect host for their guests in order to honour them is seen in the namesake. Many survivors of childhood sexual abuse (CSA) experience negative psychological symptoms (Browne Finkelhor, 1986; Kendall Tackett, Williams, L. M., Finkelhor, 1993). These women may later in life engage in relationships. The negative impact of sexual abuse could result in challenges faced by the relationship due to shame and difficulty with trust (Kochka Carolan, 2002; MacIntosh Johnson, 2008). She proposed that therapists who work with couples experiencing difficulty with intimacy of both sexual and emotional nature should consider sexual abuse history of the partners involved because without handling the sexual abuse related issues , the intervention of therapy will not be very effective. She stated that if the CSA survivor continued to believe and act out the idea that they have to perform sexually in order to get love, acceptance, security, then they cannot participate in sexually intimate relationships. Feinauer referenced other literature and previous studies of her own to add to the results and concluded that women who have been sexually abused should: deal with their unresolved anger and betrayal around the abuse; accept that they are not at fault for the abuse; externalize the fault to the perpetrator so they can discontinue to have worry and fear of all men; and see their partner as separate from the abuser so they can have an easier time in solving their sexual problems. As a result, there has always been a demand for more labor to meet the quantity demanded. In order to fill the demand for labor, workers from Mexico or other countries south of the United States border crossed the border into California illegally, hoping to find work. In other cases, citizens from other countries will apply for visas in the United States and then overstay their visas. There is an increasing number of undocumented immigrants, but field agents and census takers are unable to obtain a semi accurate count of how many undocumented immigrants actually exist in the United States. These immigrants often hide from government officials in order to avoid being caught, and subsequently being deported back to their home country. A new generation of broadband satellite constellations promises to provide high speed Internet connectivity to areas not served by optical fiber, cable or other high speed terrestrial connections. However, using satellite links to supply high bandwidth has been difficult due to problems with inefficient performance of the Internet s TCP/IP protocol suite over satellite. We describe an architecture for improving the performance of TCP/IP protocols over heterogeneous network environments, especially networks containing satellite links. The end to end connection is split into segments, and the protocol on the satellite segment is optimized for the satellite link characteristics. TCP congestion control mechanisms are maintained on each segment, with some coupling between the segments to produce the effect of end to end TCP flow control. We have implemented this design and present results showing that using such gateways can improve throughput for individual connections by a large factor over paths containing a satellite link. Brigman, and was given to the Getty Museum as a gift Michael and Jane Wilson Collection. This artwork has a broad range of meaning, and may indicate storms just about anywhere in the world. The Heart of the Storm evokes a feeling of impending damage and most people can understand that feeling regardless of where they live. Those who live in the Southern states, along the Gulf of Mexico, may particularly be subject to hurricanes, tropical storms and tornadoes if they live in rural areas. People who live on the Eastern seaboard are also prone to experiencing these types of storms, but to a lesser degree. Anne Brigman s painting is universal because almost everyone has experienced some type of storm at some point in their lives. Because of the universality of this type of work, it is hard to pin point exactly what location this painting depicts. It seems to be of biblical nature, as both people in the painting are scantily clad. The garb that both people are wearing, would remind you of paintings often displayed in the Bible. You can see it is a man and a woman, very likely lovers or husband and wife and they are clinging to one another outdoors. Those in favour of a GAAR also point to the apparent success of similar laws in countries that have used the law for years such as Australia or Canada. • 34. Anecdotal Evidence And Its Impact On The Progress And... Anecdotal evidence is collected in a casual or informal manner and relies heavily or entirely on personal testimony. When compared to other types of evidence, anecdotal evidence is generally regarded as of limited value to a number of potential weaknesses unless documentation and/or statistical evidence is maintained. Anecdotal evidenceis sometimes considered within the scope of scientific method. For example the use of case studies in medicine rely on anecdotal evidence, because some anecdotal evidence can be both empirical and verifiable. This applies also to education. Our assertion, particularly when dealing with students and parents, is that anecdotal information, gleaned from conversation, oral reporting and similar, generally provides far more effective feedback on the progress and development of the student, delineates learning concerns more concisely and allows constructive consideration of possible resolutions. Education has a new push to fully embrace data as the pivot for program delivery but there is significant danger when there is misapplication or misunderstanding regarding the value of the data. Currently, it is hard to attend an education conference or read an education magazine without encountering broad claims for data based decision making and research based practice convenient buzzwords that obscure rather than clarify, to justify incoherent and glib new proposals or courses of action. The embrace of data has stampeded us directly from resistance to ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 35. African American Student Achievement Essay When it comes to continuing education either in postsecondary education or as adult learners, there are several options that students can choose from. Students can go to a public or private school. They can attend a 4 year institution or they may decide to attend a community college. Most students who attend a community collegego there to obtain an associate degree, to complete some type of certification, or before they matriculate to a 4 year institution. • 38. Why Is Abu Ghraib Cruel Abu Ghraib is Not Yet in the Grave According to jail time served by prisoners, it is less punishable to abuse foreign prisoners than it is to deal drugs. The average time served by the eleven offenders involved during the Abu Ghraib scandal was 13.1 months, compared to the average of five years for drug dealers (CNN Library). Only five out of the eleven people directly involved actually served time at all, with the most time served being 6 years out of an original 10 year sentence. So instead of dealing that heroin, maybe you could torture and humiliate soldiers, if you re looking to serve less time in jail. The ghastly events at the Abu Ghraib prisonoccurred throughout 2003, but the American public did not find out until the broadcast of 60 Minutes II in April of 2004. The photographs released include images of dogs attacking prisoners, soldiers giving the thumbs up sign as they appear to stitch prisoners wounds, prisoners positioned in humiliating poses (often naked), and prisoners forced to perform homosexual activities, which are illegal in most Islamic countries (Harman).... • 40. Children With An Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder Today in the educational system, I think one of the most looked down upon inequalities are students with an attention deficit hyperactivity disorder, also known as ADHD. Especially in high school, living with ADHD is extremely challenging because students have a harder time concentrating during class, understanding the material given to them, or even taking tests and doing homework unlike other students. It seems the school system, and even society judges students based on what level they are on. For example if a student has straight A s in honors classes, that student would get all the praise, while a student who has average or lower grades in regular classes, that student would be ignored, get ridiculed or sometimes considered irrelevant. I myself am not officially diagnosed with ADHD, but I consider myself have a larger amount of inattention, so I have witnessed these types of inequalities in high schoolbefore. In Jonathan Kozols essay, The Savage Inequalities of Public EducationIn New York, Kozal explains how a school principal views the students reality, explaining Sometimes a school principal...looks into the faces of the children in his school and offers a disarming statement that cuts through official ambiguity.
