The Impact Of The Oil Spill-Anastasia Nicholas
The Impact of the Oil Spill Anastasia Nicholas
Over the years, the oil industry has grown larger. Shipments of oil have been moved by sea from
one country to another. In this event, oil spills tend to occur. This disaster can affect the
environment in many ways. It can affect both the animals and the habitats living in the habitats. In
the event of an oil spill, there are animals that may be affected. They can lose their homes and
require the help of humans to survive. For example, during the BP Oil Spill of 2010, over eight
hundred animals (including birds, turtles, and mammals) were found dead as a result of the spill.
Some of these animals were already on the endangered species list. It took over 30,000 people to
help them. Oil can also ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
How to prevent oil spills from happening Janasia Derouillere
There are many ways to stop oil spills from occurring sadly not many people know about them.
Fortunately it is very easy to put a stop to oil spills. All you need is a little determination and
some hard work. Whether you are young or old you can make a difference and change the world.
To begin with, oil spills are the release of a liquid petroleum hydrocarbon into the environment,
especially marine areas, due to human activity. Researchers say you can prevent oil spills by
putting a stop to pollution. Due to the fact that oil spills are a form of pollution it is a smart idea
to stop pollution all together. Avoiding pollutants is not only a good way to stop oil you can
also help our environment at the same time. Secondly, you can use less oil. If you use less oil
than less oil will have to be shipped. Whether it is gas you use to fill your car tanks or regular
vegetable oil you use to cook with it can make a big difference. It only takes one person to start a
revolution and make a change. With the help of others you can achieve, if you

Critical Analysis Of Elizabeth Barrett Browning
The Hopeless Romantic: Elizabeth Barrett Browning
In the poem How do I love thee? by Elizabeth Barrett Browning, Browning asks how she loves
her beloved and goes on to list the ways in which she loves him. Her love is seen as eternal and
exists everywhere which brings to light the tone and styling of the poem and how it fits in the
movement it was written in. Elizabeth Barrett Browning was born in 1806 at Coxhoe Hall, Durham,
England. (Poetry Foundation) During the time of her writings, she was seen as one of the most
influential poets for the Romantic Movement. Romantics focused on nature, human feelings and
compassion, and rebelling for a cause, which Browning shows a lot of throughout her sonnet.
Browning was born in 1806 at Coxhoe Hall in Durham, England. She was a romantic writer but
it closely reflected the life she was living at the time. The oldest of twelve children, Elizabeth
was the first in her family born in England in over two hundred years. For centuries, the Barrett
family, who were part Creole, had lived in Jamaica, where they owned sugar plantations and
relied on slave labor. (Poetry Foundation) Elizabeth s father, chose to raise his family in England,
while his fortune grew in Jamaica. Educated at home Elizabeth apparently read passages from
Paradise Lost and a number of Shakespearean plays, among other great works, before the age of
ten. By her twelfth year, she had written her first epic poem, which consisted of four books of
rhyming couplets. In 1826 , Elizabeth anonymously published her collection An Essay on Mind
and Other Poems. Two years later, her mother passed away and the slow abolition of slavery in
England and mismanagement of the plantations depleted the Barrett s income. Elizabeth s father
moved his family to a coastal town and rented cottages for the next three years before settling
permanently in London. Her father did not allow his children to marry, having them work on the
plantations in Jamaica instead. Gaining attention for her work in the 1830s, Elizabeth continued to
live in her father s London house, not by choice however. He began sending Elizabeth s younger
siblings to Jamaica to help with the family s estates. Elizabeth opposed of slavery and did

French And Indian War Effects
The French and Indian war, also known as the 7 years war, was not just a defeat for France and
disaster for the Native Americans, but it spewed later trouble for Britain, causing the war to be a
disaster for Britain as well. The first major impact the war was on France, for after the war they
lost major portions of their territory in North America. The Native Americans had been impacted
due to the fact that their lands were now under the control of the British Empire, an empire which
usually had conflicts with Native American tribes. Finally, the war later spewed trouble for Britain
due to the fact that with new territory west of the Appalachians, British colonists who were

many tribes, destroying others, and creating conflicts between natives and British colonists.
Thirdly, The war, though in Britain s favor, had devastated it in the years to come by first
causing large scale rebellions in the newly acquired lands, and by later angering colonists who
were restricted from migrating to the newly conquered land. Finally, British colonists were
benefited by the war in the fact that the Albany Plan was created, thus inspiring movements such
as the declaration of independence a little over a decade after the war. Albeit, the colonists had a
new sense of cooperation among themselves, they were still negatively impacted in the war in the
aspect of not being allowed to pursue new economic opportunities because of the proclamation of

During my junior year, I realized how much dedication and brainstorming it took to fulfill my
duties as Fundraising Chairperson. That year I came up with our Hot Chocolate and Lemonade

goods every bake sale we had, and participated in our Panera Bread fundraiser as well. This
position taught me how to become dedicated, and how no matter what the title of your position
is, your role as an officer has a profound impact on the club. Senior year came around, and I was
able to become Vice President in HOSA. My goal as Vice President this year is to make my

Veterans Involvement In The Vietnam War
The Vietnam war was one of the most publicly hated wars in American history. The amount of
people killed and the amount of people declared MIA is unfathomable. These troops were never
liked, never supported, and to this day are over looked because no one wants to remember the
years of the Vietnam war. Between 1955 to 1975 over 58,000 people were killed and 2,338 of
those courageous men were declared MIA. These men were practically covered up and forgotten
about. The Vietnamwar was the first televised American war which increase the involvement of
public opinions. This caused an increase of civilian awareness and involvement in the war. This
helped created one of Americas most hated war. Many antiwar movements were created including

Some veterans would return or not accept a medal, such as a purple heart, because they feel like
the ones that lost arms, legs, are brain dead, or even dead, are the ones that deserve it (Terhune).
They have formed groups to properly greet these courageous veterans and treat them the way they
should be treated. They all agree that those are the true hero because they are the ones who payed
the ultimate price. According to an anonymous Marine A veteran is someone who, at one point in
his life, wrote a blank check made payable to The United States of America , for an amount up to

proper treatment for their bravery. The secret war was largely unknown until several years ago
when the first accounts were published detailing the efforts of the soldiers who fought and died in
a mission that the government had refused to acknowledge. (Reza). This is still a common
occurrence happening and all of these soldiers deserve recognition. Although some files are being

Bipolar I Disorder Research Paper
The National Institute of Mental Health describes bipolar I disorder as the occurrence of manic
episodes that can last up to seven days, or experiencing a state of mania so severe that one must
be hospitalized. With manic episodes, it is common to experience depressive symptoms as well,
which can last two weeks or more. The NIMH defines bipolar II disorder as a pattern of
depressive episodes with the addition of hypomanic episodes, which are not as intense and
distressing as the manic episodes in bipolar I disorder. During a manic episode one might be
experiencing feelings of having a lot of energy, feeling jumpy or wired, talking fast about a variety
of topics, racing thoughts, and wanting to do risky things. During an episode of depression,... Show

The Time Machine, H. G. Wells
In The Time Machine, H. G. Wells explores the Victorian elements of 19th century society through
symbolism in the novel s depiction of the environment. Wells depicts the Time Machine as an
impractical and extravagant construction in order to criticize the Victorian values which the
Machine embodies. The White Sphinx, a statue the Time Traveler encounters when he travels the
future, serves as symbol of the decay and death of the Victorian ideals. The Time Traveler s
description of the Palace of Green Porcelain, a symbol Victorian extravagance, suggests that the
Victorian ideal will fail because of its indulgence and superficiality. In The Time Machine
, H. G.
Wellsuses the symbolism of environments in order to convey his criticism of the Victorian ideal
as an indulgent and superficial system of values that will lead failure. Wells depicts the Victorian
ideal as impractical by describing the Time Machine as having extravagant Victorian features. The
Time Machine is first introduced when the Time Traveler invites his guests, a variety of
respectable men including the narrator, into his laboratory. The narrator describes the machine,
focusing on its extravagant materials: Parts were of nickel, parts of ivory, parts had certainly been
filed or sawn out of rock crystal. The thing was generally complete, but the twisted crystalline bars
lay unfinished upon the bench... (Chapter 1). Because it is a technological wonder invented by a

Essay on Ernest Hemingway s Big Two-Hearted River
The world of Ernest Hemingway s Big Two Hearted River exists through the mostly unemotional
eyes of the character Nick. Stemming from his reactions and the suppression of some of his
feelings, the reader gets a sense of how Nick is living in a temporary escape from society and his
troubles in life. Despite the disaster that befell the town of Seney, this tale remains one of an
optimistic ideal because of the various themes of survival and the continuation of life. Although
Seney itself is a wasteland, the pine plain and the campsite could easily be seen as an Eden, lush
with life and ripe with the survival of nature. The world in the story exists as two separate but
connected places. The first that Nick encounters... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Nick s lack of emotional response and the brevity of the description of the town seem to
downplay whatever tragedy had befallen it, perhaps making it seem to not be a tragedy at all.
While the cause of the fire is not explained, Nick comments on how it had happened within the
previous year, but does not ponder the causes or even the effects. What Nick does concentrate on
at this point is the color of the grasshoppers that he has so far encountered. The black grasshoppers
are a symbol of a means of survival, having adapted through natural selection to be all black in only
a year s time. In this way they blend in better with their charred surroundings and have become less
noticeable to predators. Nick wonders how long they would stay that way, indicating his belief that
this is a temporary mode of survival for them, and by extension that the charred landscape is also
temporary. When it returns to its former state, the grasshoppers will adapt to that situation, and will
continue to survive by changing their color again via natural selection. Survival, both its temporary
means and its ultimate permanence, is certainly a theme throughout this story, and the river is the
most obvious metaphorical representation. Among the undulant hillsides, the river remains steady

The Role of Zoos in Conservation
The roles of Zoos in conservation The main aim of zoos is to protect and conserve global
biodiversity and wildlife. To do this they have four roles to play which are; research,
conservation, education and welfare. Research: Research is the careful search or inquiry for new
facts by scientific study of a subject, through a course of critical investigation. By studying
animals we can learn new things about their behaviour and lifestyle. The Secretary of State s
Standards of Modern Zoo Practice (SSSMZP) encourage zoos to carry out research. Research can

Zoos try to make the animal s enclosure as interesting as possible. One way of doing this is
through ENVIRONMENTAL ENRICHMENT. Enrichment is the use of novel objects or ideas to
increase the natural behaviour of the animals. Different objects and methods are used for different
animals. (1) The World Association of Zoos and Aquariums (WAZA) is the umbrella organisation
for the world zoo and aquarium community. Whilst recognising the variation in culture and
customs within which the WAZA operates, it is incumbent upon all members to exercise the
highest standards of animal welfare and to encourage these standards in others. Training staff to
the highest level possible represents one method of ensuring this aim. Members of WAZA will
ensure that all animals in their care are treated with the utmost care and their welfare should be
paramount all times. At all times, any legislated codes for animal welfare should be regarded as
minimum standards. Appropriate animal husbandry practices must be in place and sound
veterinary care available. When an animal has no reasonable quality of life, it should be
euthanized quickly and without suffering. Below are the basic principles for the guidance of all

The Most Memorable Place Of The World
The United States Navy often takes me to various and unique locations of the world. I ve sailed
throughout the Atlantic Ocean, Mediterranean Sea, Persian Gulf, Indian Ocean, and Pacific
Ocean. I ve stepped foot in Rome, the Middle East, various tropical islands, and my favorite
region Southeast Asia. To be more specific, one of the most memorable places I ve visited was
when my third ship hit port in Thailand. During one such occasion, I was wandering the streets of
Pattaya late at night with my friends. We noticed there was a crowd congregating around a rickety
boxing ring in the middle of a bar. Around the ring, there were bets being placed. In the old wooden

This was not a move of cowardice, as I could tell neither of the fighters was intimidated by the
other. They had trained for most of their young lives and they were not afraid of anything or
anyone. To them this was just another fight. After they were done figuring each other out, the
fight quickly picked up the pace. The fighters came forward and threw punches and kicks to
each other s head and body. Both kids were putting on a good show and I could tell they were
fighting for real. Even though they were giving it their all, I could sense they loved fighting and
there was no place they would rather be. In each of the corners of the ring, the boys team of
trainers and family members was screaming instructions and words of encouragement. The crowd
had also begun to cheer and chant, excited by the back and forth volley of fists and feet. Even the
people across the street started to gain interest and watched from the sidewalk. The Muay Thai
match continued like this, each kid getting their hits in and even getting knocked down onto the
floor. Each round lasted approximately two minutes, with five rounds total. During the breaks in
between rounds, the fighters sipped their water and received coaching from their team. In my eyes
every round seemed to be the same, although that could be the alcohol in my system at the time that
made everything blurry. At the end of the final round, the referee gathered all the scores and

Why Business Management Is Becoming A Successful Business
Abstract Owning a business is often a dream of many people but the reality of entrepreneurship
can be an amazing experience. It takes a lot of planning and dedication for a business to be
successful. Small business management is becoming very popular in the society in which we live.
More and more people are looking to going into businessfor themselves. This paper will discuss
how to start a business and it will also focus on the importance of family helping to run a successful
business.
Owning a business can be good or it can be bad but it takes a lot to maintain a successful business
or even the thought of starting one. Dictionary.com defines entrepreneur as a person who organizes

Although owning a business has many benefits and provides many opportunities, anyone
planning to enter the world of entrepreneurship should be aware of its potential drawbacks.
Individuals who prefer the security of a steady paycheck, a comprehensive benefit package, a two
week paid vacation, and the support of a corporate staff probably should not go into business for
themselves (Scarborough, 2014, p. 12). There are a lot of things that go into owning a small business
and planning is one of the major elements when it comes to even thinking of owning a business of
any size whether it is small, medium or large.
When I begin to think about how important planning was to a business I thought back to my
teachings as a child into my adult life about how the Bible talks to us about planning and being
prepared. It also reminded me the principals in which God teaches us about preparing his people
to be sufficient and taking care of themselves in order to provide not only for themselves and their
family but in helping others also. In planning a business it takes prayer and being faithful to seeing
your dream to fruition. This is not a small endeavor when it comes to a business.
Planning is an important tool in thinking about how a business should be started as well as how
things will begin to come together for the business to come to fruition. The bible also teaches us
about things we should look at when looking to start a business.

The Importance Of The First Language Acquisition
During the first two or three years of development, a child requires interaction with other language
users in order to bring the general language capacity into contact with a particular language such as
English. (Yule, The Study of Language, 2010)
It is very important for a child to hear a certain language and to interact with others who are using
this certain language in order to produce the language because a child is acquiring the language
from his environment as it is not genetically inherited. Hearing language sounds is not enough to
acquire a language, but interacting with others who are using this language is a crucial requirement
for the first language acquisition.
So, in order to speak a language, a child must be able to hear that language being used. (Yule, The
Study of Language, 2010)
A child who is doing so must be physically capable of hearing a language hearing sense and
producing sounds. Deaf infants stop making cooing and babbling noises after six months unlike the
normal hearing infants who are making these noises during their first year.
Under normal circumstances, human infants are certainly helped in their language acquisition by
the typical behavior of older children and adults in the home environment who provide language
samples, or input, for the child. (Yule, The Study of Language, 2010)
Acquiring a language should be by the help of others in a child`s environment like his mother,
father and grandparents who are using simplified

Leadership In Julius Caesar
What does leadership mean to someone? For most, it s how someone can make an impact. There
are many important aspects of being a leader. The power of a great leader starts with the right
mindset and willingness to accomplish what needs to be accomplished. One that is always a
couple steps ahead and is there to look out for others. In William Shakespeare s famous play, Julius
Caesar, few characters happen to have to right amount of potential to become a leader of Rome.
With the death of the ruler Julius Caesar, two counter viewing characters gave a speech about
Caesar which caused different reactions. One character in particular, Mark Antony, sticks out due to
his great use of language and how he created an impact on Rome s people. Marcus Brutus on the
other hand, also attempted to influence the people, but his inability to be more persuasive than
Antony is what caused him to receive the more negative feedback. Brutus indeed spoke
logically, but Antony would happen to make a better candidate as a leader because he spoke to
the emotions of the people and knew what was right. Mark Antony qualifies as a superior leader
because of his ability to connect with the people and by proving his loyalty. He is a solemn,
confident, and persuasive man which are key reasons why he would make an outstanding ruler.
In Julius Caesar, his confidence often shows. The threefold world divided, he should stand
/ One of the three to share it, (IV.i.14 15). Antony questioned whether or not Lepidus would be
fitting to rule a third of the world. Antony would take one half, Octavius the other half and they
would rule because he believed Lepidus was not capable. Antony s confidence shows his
capability of being a leader. Relating back to the speech given at Caesar s funeral, Brutus gave a
logical speech compared to Antony s persuasiveness which made the people have a different
feedback and overall different impact on who they believed was more trustworthy. Along with
Antony s confidence, his nobility towards others would have made him a great leader. His
nobility was for Julius Caesar especially, who he was very close to. When Caesar died, Antony
wanted revenge because of the unjust way he was murdered. Cry Havoc! and let slip the

The History Of Early Law Enforcement

Law Enforcement
The history of early law enforcement really has been around since ancient times. In these times
guards that worked for the lords of kingdoms were assigned the job of collecting taxes. Though
the first real law enforcement as we see it today goes back to the colonial age in both England and
newly found America. Colonial America followed the the British form of a policeorganization. This
idea was a sheriff appointed by the governor of a colony, enforced laws, collected taxes and
maintained public property throughout the colony. In the times of these law enforcement efforts
many were seen to be largely inadequate to maintain order. As time went on many things went on to

These levels allow more control because some departments focus on bigger issues in the states
where as smaller local departments will work on smaller issues in their own communities. The
amount law enforcement has evolved over the years has made it more capable and able to deal
with the problems of this new age much different than that of the revolutionary time period. Law
enforcement has evolved because as time went on technologies came along which criminals had
access to and crimes got more creative and complex. For example a rather new crime with modern
society and new technologies brought on is cyberbullying. As the time went on and the law
enforcement system evolved and crimes got more serious and in depth and technologies advanced
for both criminals and police. This is why another important thing changed in law enforcement, the
equipment that they carry. The first law enforcements system in the United States in the pre
revolutionary and revolutionary times was the night watch which was similar to the modern day
neighborhood watch. They didn t wear uniforms or carry guns they mostly just watched out for
suspicious activity and made people aware of anything that went wrong. Then as time went on this
equipment wasn t satisfactory for the new age. This is when many cities start to make law
enforcement systems became official by issuing uniforms and guns many times. This made the law

It then acts as a party to every trade . In other words it simultaneously acts as if it had sold to the
buyer, and bought from the seller. Following registration, each party has a contractual obligation to
the clearing house. In turn the clearing house guarantees each side of the original bargain.
2.1.4 Margin
Each party to a futures contract must deposit a sum of money known as margin with the clearing
house. Margin payments act as a cushion against potential losses which the parties may suffer from
future adverse price movements.
The potential losses referred to here are those that would arise if one party to the trade defaults on
the agreement. The risk that you default on the agreement to trade may increase if the market
moves against you. For example, if you agree to buy a future and then the price of the underlying
asset, and hence the future, goes down, you face a larger potential loss and consequently may be
more likely to default. The essential feature of a future is that the money changes hand on the
delivery date, rather than on the date that the deal is agreed. However, in practice, clearing
houses require a small good faith deposit known as margin to be deposited soon after the deal is
agreed. This money is held by the clearing house. Margin will be much smaller than the value of
the underlying asset being dealt in. As well as being small, margin earns interest so that most
traders shouldn t

Pertussis or Whooping Cough Can Lead to Death Essay
Pertussis, commonly known as whooping cough, is a highly contagious respiratory disease caused
by a bacterium, Bordatella pertussis. In 2010 it affected 27, 5501 individuals and was responsible
for 262 deaths in the United States. Bordatella pertussis colonizes in the cilia of the respiratory
tract3 producing uncontrollable coughing with paroxysms (fits) followed with a high pitched
intake of air creating a whoop sound, posttussive emesis (cough induced vomiting), and
exhaustion.3 These symptoms can last up to 10 weeks.3 Adults can transfer Pertussisto infants who

California, Pennsylvania and Texas.2 California had the highest morality rate, at 35 deaths in the
ten year period.2 Notably, the White population of reported pertussis morality was at the highest
at 160 of 184 deaths.2 Also, there has been an increase in reported cases in the United Sates, in
2000 there were 12 reported deaths and in 2010 there were 26 deaths.2 94 percent of the pertussis

Limitations to this analysis are pertussis is underdiagnosed and misclassified as severe cold,

The Vietnam War And The Long Arms Of American History
The Vietnam War is a sore spot in the long arms of American History. Nearly 60,000 Americans
died and estimated millions of Vietnamese. It was considered to be the longest war in American
history as well. Many questioned the motives and causes of the war calling it an atrocity. Others
say that it may have been a terrible effort to defend a noble cause, the spread of communism. The
years precluding the Vietnam war, there was a war taking place in Vietnam. It was known as the
Indochina War, where the Vietnamese waged war against the colonial rule of France. The French
were defeated in the battle of Dien Bien Phu. Following this defeat, there was a peace conference in
Geneva, which resulted in Laos, Cambodia and Vietnam to receive their independence. The Geneva
Accords officially divided Vietnam into North Vietnam and South Vietnam
. Ho Chi Minh and his
communist forces led the North. A French backed emperor led the south until elections in 1956.
These elections were supposed to reunify Vietnam. United State s Cold War policy was beginning
to come into play by this time. The U.S. was concerned with the domino theory, which believed that
the communist overtake of North Vietnam would cause other countries in surrounding regions to
adopt the ideology. In the interest of the U.S. to support South Vietnam, they back an anti
communist politician named Ngo Dinh Diem. In 1955, Diem took control of the South Vietnamese

The Touch
INITIAL THOUGHTS:
There s a thin line between entertaining your audience with a gambling demo, and boring them into
abysmal submission. Personally, I ve always found that when the magician continually wins, the
audience gets tired quickly. Let s face it; no one likes losing! It s human nature.
Therefore, this routine is designed to make your audience believe like they can win every time, no
matter which game you play. Furthermore, the power of this routine is not about the astronomical
odds of receiving a winning hand in a called upon position like so many gambling demos. More
important, it s about empowering someone in your audience with the genuine feeling of having a

Benefits and Challenges of Play Therapy Essay
Play is a way for children to learn about their environment and how interaction occurs within. It is
through trial and error that children are able to create options; follow their own interests and
show independence in thought and actions using their knowledge and understanding (Moyles,
2005, p.3). Children develop resilience though play. However for a number of children can
experience stressful occurrences during their lives and play can often be restricted. Therefore the
play worker s role in supporting children s play is a crucial measure towards children s

In addition to play promoting pleasure as well as physical activity, play forms the holistic
growth in children s development, or to put it in another way using Brown (2003) acronym,
acknowledged as SPICE ; play represents the social interaction ; physical activity ; intellectual
stimulation ; creative achievement and emotional stability, (with the addition of compound
flexibility ) in a child s development. Compound flexibility is the idea that a child s
psychological development occurs using the relationship between his/her environment with the
adaptability of the child himself. Thus the flexibility of surroundings and his/her adaptableness
can provide children the means to explore; experiment and investigate (Brown, 2003, pp. 53 4).
On the contrary, the absence of social interaction and physical activity through the means of play
can inhibit children s overall development and without the consistency of play children suffer a
chronic lack of sensory interaction with the world, [which leads to] a form of sensory deprivation
(Hughes, 2001, p.217 in Lester and Maudsley 2006). Research conducted by Webb and Brown

has ascertained that for these children who have been neglected with limited social interaction,
were compared to Harlow s 1960s research into neglected and social isolated

Evolution Of The Wellness Program
The wellness programs that many companies now seem to be interested in is nothing new, as
companies have known for many years that a healthy and fit employee is a more productive
employee. This company interest in fit employees can be traced back to the time right after World
War II. After WWII a few companies decided to construct gyms and staffed them with instructors to
help in the promotion of fitness (Sparling 2010), (Chenoweth 2011), (Miller 2014). These gyms
were perks typically for upper management and had little effect on the healthbehaviors or the health
care for the majority of the employees. These types of programs continued to grow throughout the
1970s with limited influence because of their focus on upper management but... Show more content

Companies have identified the need for a wellness program to help in this endeavor. Companies
also need a means to identify the performance and cost of this wellness program. Just as
organizations have used the fundamental concepts of cost measurement and recognition to provide
the past, present and future performance and cost (Crosson, and Needles, 2014).
Historical programs have proven that without proper performance measurements and being
properly budgeted not just a wellness program but all programs are doomed to fail.
A company wellness program must have performance measures system that will monitor both the
operating results and the multiple performance measurements that are needed to identify the
return on investment (ROI), residual income (RI), and economic value added (EVA) (Crosson,
and Needles, 2014). This will only provide a short term performance measurement of the wellness
program and would require an understanding of the wellness program stakeholders to provide a
more balanced view of the program. During the planning phase of a company s wellness program,
there is the need to identify a company s vision and strategy for the wellness program.
At the beginning of any program, there needs to be an initial evaluation of the current conditions

Alternative Methods Of Pain Treatment And Management Essay
Chronic pain is a tremendous public health problem, and a costly one. As health care advances and
the need for palliative care rises, patients and health care providers are constantly investigating
alternative methods of pain treatment and management. Questioning and challenging traditional
health policies and practices has created an interest in the use of cannabisas an alternative option to
standard opioids, for the management of chronic pain. Cannabis, or marijuana, is a leafy green
plant consisting of buds and leaves of the cannabis sativa forma indica plants. Marijuana has been
used in holistic solutions for hundreds of years; it has also been especially prevalent among
terminally ill cancer patients, who have been reported using it to alleviate symptoms like chronic
pain, nausea and depression.
Medical marijuana laws are currently in effect in 25 states, as well as the District of Columbia. In
recent years, medical marijuana advocates, and members within the scientific community have
joined together with the New York City Council to present compelling patient vignettes before state
lawmakers in Albany to show legitimate need for cannabinoids. New York City maintains its
position as actively investigating into these claims. As a New York City nursing candidate,
depending on state legislation, this may be an avenue of therapeutic treatment that I must research,
educate patients on, and utilize effectively in my future career plan. Currently, opioids remain the

How Did Neo Confucianism Influence China
Between 600 and 1450 CE, China centralized their power and became one of the most powerful

resulted in the diffusion of Chinas culture with both surrounding countries. China influenced

Also if a prince is well liked by his subjects it is much easier to accomplish tasks with the interest
of the state. By ruling with interest a prince can be forced to leave power by his subjects.
Machiavelli s third topic is his biggest concern for Italy. After working as an ambassador he
noticed that the barbarians or countries from Northern Europe had large armies with well
trained soldiers. Since Italy relied on mercenaries to do most of the fighting Italy would be
taken over by these large, barbaric, armies if there was ever a war between them. So Machiavelli
emphasized that a prince should have a free standing army. In The Prince he said, Mercenaries
are useless and dangerous; and if one holds his state based on these arms, he will stand neither
firm nor safe; for they are disunited, ambitious, and without discipline, unfaithful, valiant before
friends, cowardly before enemies . . If a prince were to have mercenaries do all the fighting his

Human rights are rights that every single one of us has just by the fact that we are humans. But it
wasn t like that always. We didn t always have those rights. A lot of time, struggle and many fights
had to pass for these rights to start being acknowledged and respected.
Many people in the past dedicated their lives to the fight for human rights. They weren t afraid to
stand for what they believed in and they believed in a better tomorrow. They did everything that
was in their power to make sure it comes true. But even now, after everything they did and all the
progress they made we still hear and read about basic human rights being violated all around the

The Social And Cultural Environment Of Baltimore
The chart shows how Baltimore economy compares to the United States, needless to say Baltimore
is struggling. Unemployment rate is higher than the rest of the United States, and job growth isn t
helping to improve Baltimore s employment rate. To dig deeper into Baltimore s economy, the
unemployment rate for black men in Baltimoreis really low. It is shown that between the ages of 20
and 24 it was 37 percent in 2013, as to being 10 percent for white men in the same category. It
also doesn t help that as the age groups increase that just 59 percent of black men between the ages
of 25 and 54 are working, compared with 79 percent of white men (Casselman).
The social and cultural environment in Baltimore is unique. Baltimore has a very distinctive history
and each neighborhood has its own character and vibe. From East to West Baltimore, From
Downtown to County lines, each neighborhood has its own diners or restaurants, shops and social
centers.
Technological environment in Baltimore is advancing. Some consider it Baltimore to be an
innovative culture. The NSA (National Security Agency) recently appointed some companies to
help with federal cybersecurity, such as Lockheed Martin, Verizon, and Baltimore s own Maddrix
company. Also the newly formed Parking Panda, which is one of Baltimore s hottest startups that
has raised 4.7 million in capital from its online parking marketplace that enables parking spot
owners to rent their open spots. Baltimore also hosts its own

Mason, Aries, Chickadee, Evans, and Michael try to survive in an apocalyptic world with optimism.
An earthquake strikes each characters neighbourhood and many citizens die as a result. Although
these five characters do not know each other and are situated in different locations in the beginning,

There are multiple protagonists in the story, and they all go through different adventures. A
character named Chickadee, who Mason encounters, develops from being very dependant into a
more independent and optimistic character. She has diabetes, so she cannot live without insulin.
Since the earthquake was so destructive, there are no doctors left to treat her. Chickadee
becomes pessimistic when she realizes she will inevitably die if she does not get treated.
However, before Chickadee dies, she explains, There are different types of people in this world.
There are people who accept what s in front of them unquestioningly... Then there are people like
me. Optimists. They too live in the dark, in times like these, but dream of the light (219).
Chickadee admits she is an optimist, and advises Mason to be optimistic as well. He also starts
looking at the positive side of situations. Even when Chickadee dies, instead of mourning her
death, Mason decides to fulfil her final wish: to go to Vancouver and feel the ocean for her.
Furthermore, another main character, Michael, begins as ignorant and passive, but becomes more
optimistic. When Evans tells Michael that he needs to find his daughter and wife, Michael
volunteers to help. He reassures Evans, We ll get through this. We ll find your wife and child
(85). This proves that Michael becomes a positive and diligent character, who is determined to
help Evans find his family members during these egregious times. In addition, Aries also
undergoes dramatic changes throughout the novel. For instance, she is a very scared and
pessimistic character when she finds out that her friend, Sarah, has died. As the story progresses,
Aries develops into an exceptional leader who others admire and treat respectfully. Aries thinks to
herself, No matter how much of a leader she didn t think she was, she d get them

Analysis Of The 7 Habits Of Highly Effective Teens
I am writing to you to show the appreciation I have for you self help book, The 7 Habits of
Highly Effective Teens. I want you, the author, to see the effect your book has amongst the teen
population and how the techniques you used, including your writing styles, throughout the
book, helped create a personal relationship to the text. I also want to give you a realistic point of
view of your story and highlight some aspects that could use some improvement for better
understanding. Overall, I thoroughly enjoyed your book, therefore giving reason for me to
write this letter to you. I myself am a teen and reading your book changed my overall perspective
on life. Your book is correctly notated to today s teenage population as the text is certainly not
boring. Your inclusion of numerous pictures, graphs, activities, and diagrams on each page kept
me engaged throughout. Each chapter in your story delves in on each of the 7 habits. The
technique to clearly outline and spread out each habit allows for a sense of clarity for the reader.
To spend 5 10 pages on each habit helps to ensure the understanding for the reader. Before you
went into detail on each habit, I found it really helpful how you mentioned the 7 habits teens
normally follow. By showing us, the readers, the negative habits teens follow on a daily basis and
its positive counterpart also allows for better interpretation. This method allowed for me to compare
and contrast the two and realize the habits I m taking part in.

Remember The Tians Is A Sports Movie Based On A True Story
Remember the Tians is a sports movie based on a true story. The movie is about racism and how
the characters abandon prejudices between each other in order to win the game.
The 1970s was the era for American African civil rights movements. In Virginia, located in the
south center of the United States, the population were still very conservative. There s a high school
football team called the Titans with only white players. Yet, the school followed the racial
integration policy which accepted many black students. This caused the Titan team to become a
blended team. In addition, the school also demoted the already extremely successful white Coach
Yoast and let a black man Boone to be the head coach because of the policy. Many white students
and their parents protested and threatened they are going to quit. The residents were also are the
same as these students, as they had suspicious and had doubts. Black man in a superior position
towards a white man is a very dissonant combination, and the team players despised each other.
Even the school didn t support Coach Boone and claimed he will be replaced as soon as he loses
one game. It s not an easy job to train this team and trying to get them to co operate, he is not only
needing to hone the students playing skills but also the team morale and the contradiction between
him and the assistant coach. The worst thing is the whole society resist this blended team. In this
film, Coach Boone perfectly demonstrates the Five

Ophelia Character Analysis
In the play, Hamlet, by William Shakespeare, Ophelia, the daughter of Polonius, is seen as a fair
maiden who wants her love with Hamlet to be eternal. Due to the many warnings from her father
Polonius and her brother Laertes, she succumbs to her father s wishes and plays the role of a good
daughter, thus betraying Hamlet. Previously in the play where Hamlet gives his soliloquy on life
and death, Ophelia has been ordered to break off her relationship with Hamlet while Polonius
eavesdrops to prove that Hamlet has truly gone mad. As a result of Hamlet s supposed madness and
Ophelia s docile character during the confrontation, both of their fragile hearts shatter and Ophelia
begins her dark descent into madness, leading to her eventual death.
Throughout acts one and two of the play, Ophelia in Hamlet s eyes is seen as one of the only
fair and trustworthy outliers in the array of deception. After his soliloquy about life and death
with its dark and apathetic tone, there is a shift when Ophelia is in his presence. As Hamlet
realizes his beloved is approaching, he commands himself, Soft you now! to make sure Ophelia
does not hear what he is saying as if not to corrupt this beauty from heaven (Shakespeare III.i.86).
His mood perks up and the tone of his words become more endearing when he calls her a Nymph
(III.i.87). Shakespeare s diction here further builds upon how the audience sees their relationship.
The positive connotation of this word puts Ophelia on a pedestal while

Phaedo by Plato Essay examples
Phaedo by Plato
The opening of Plato s Phaedo finds Socrates constructing a defense of the philosophical life.
When consideration is given to the status of philosophy in Greece at the end of the fifth century
BCE, such a defense seems unnecessary and, at the same time, difficult. This is because ancient
Greece provides us with the origins of philosophy, and yet this particular period in history serves as
a good demonstration of the public s general distaste for and persecution of it. Several
philosophers, including Pythagoras, Anaxagoras, and Protagoras, were ridiculed and attacked for
their beliefs. In spite of these social deterrents, Socrates remained faithful to his life long pursuit,
even though it led to his demise. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Socrates believes that the entire philosophical endeavor is a preparation for death and that the true
philosopher looks forward to dying. His students, however, cannot understand why the philosopher
should want to die, and Socrates hopes to dispel their fears of death while bringing them to an
awareness of a figurative death where desires cease to control the soul . In addition to noticing the
figurative nature of death, he also wants them to give further consideration to the literal death as
well.
The distinction between these two types of death, figurative and literal, creates two possible
avenues for the philosophical life. Socrates defines death as the release of the soul from the body
. This definition implies both a view of death as placing distance between the soul and the body
during this life and a complete separation at the moment of death. The responsibility of the
philosopher is to seek liberation here in this life and, in so doing, to prepare for the afterlife, as
preparation for both the literal and figurative deaths coalesce into a single activity.
Liberation here in the visible realm comes from recognizing the hindering function of the body in
the soul s search for knowledge. Socrates comments that a soul associated too closely with the
body will be

A Raisin In The Sun Lena Quotes
Lena is arguably the most determined character in Lorraine Hansberry s A Raisin in the Sun. She
works tirelessly to support her family s dreams, and refuses to leave anyone behind. Not even a
feeble dying houseplant. Her hopes for the future of her family illustrate the classic idea of the
American Dream , indicating that anyone can achieve success if they work hard enough. Lena s
withering plant represents her will to survive, the dreams she has for her children, and her loyalty
to the ones she loves. While Lena hasn t had an easy life, she refuses to give up, just like the plant
that continues to grow without proper nutrients and sunlight.
Lena s plant represents her will to survive, despite her dreary circumstances. Lord if this little old

Scene I, pg 1550). Just like her plant, Lena has barely been given enough to ... Show more content

Fixing my plant so it won t get hurt none on the way. Mama, you going to take that to the new

very worst of her family. Even though her family is in a disheveled state, and is struggling to do
the right thing, Lena does not lose faith in them. She refuses to leave anyone behind, even though
they may be struggling or making bad decisions. This love and determination can be seen in the
way she cares for the plant. Even though the plant is struggling to grow, she doesn t turn her back,
or express indifference towards it. Instead, she continues to care for it, and attempts to help it.
Even when others have lost hope in the plant, and it seems easier just to leave it behind, Lena
doesn t change her mind. She gives this same kind of unconditional love to her family, often acting
as a bastion against all the harsh criticism and judgement in the

Advantages And Disadvantages Of SLN
NLC were idealized to overcome inherent disadvantages of SLN. Entrapping structure is a blend
of solid and liquid, spatially incompatible, lipids that confers distinct characteristics of NLC when
compared with other lipid NPs [80]. Indeed, since the matrix of the lipids composing the
nanostructured lipid carriers is more amorphous than for SLN, association efficiency is higher and
offers a slower release [81]. The nanodroplet of liquid lipid, containing most of the drug to entrap,
becomes dispersed within the solid lipid, granting a slower migration of drug to the outer phase
and, therefore, a higher entrapment that lasts longer.
It was suggested that using NLC to carry and delivery domperidone in the buccal cavity could lead
to a permeability ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
In order to develop and optimize polymeric NPs as buccal delivery systems, Pistone et al. chose
chitosan, pectin and alginate as matrixpolymers and tripolyphosphate and zinc as negative and
positive counterions, respectively [90]. The polymer:counterion proportion was thoroughly studied
to achieve the most stable and suitable particles for buccal delivery. The stability was determined
by assessing nanoparticle aggregation and disintegration in contact with simulated salivary fluid,
along with the variation of polydispersity index, hydrodynamic diameter and zeta potential. It was
observed that alginate NPs presented good stability during 120 min in contact with artificial saliva
since some parameters did not significantly vary throughout of the course of the assay. Even
though the chelation of zinc ions would be expected due to the high content of phosphates in
artificial saliva, so it was suggested that the presence of calcium in the dispersion media prevented
the zinc chelation and maintained the structure of alginate NPs intact, as expected to occur in vivo
[91]. The size of pectin NPs significantly decreased (with consequent variation of polydispersity
index) after contact with artificial saliva, indicating either erosion and/or shrinking due to the
formation of additional cross linking with the ions present in the artificial saliva. The size

Death Of A Salesman Essay

by the fact that his well liked 34 year old son Biff, hasn t lived up to his potential of being a

The play displayed the social and economic problems occurring in the United States at that time.
Arthur Miller was born into a lower middle class family. His father owned a business of
manufacturing ladies wear that suffered a loss during the Great Depression. According to Sinclair s
article on Death of a Salesman the country came out of the depression when World War II started
and after the War there was an economic boom that increased inner city business and building of
apartment housings. The economic boom brought prosperity for the United States but mostly
for the rich as inflation increased. Typical normal Americans and low paid workers like
salesman, shop workers, unskilled workers, janitors and waiters experienced the bigger hit
having a hard time affording the basic necessities. For these people the American Dream of
being successful and well off became impossible as debt and purchases on credit increased.
People were having a hard time trying to make it with what they already had. Miller used his play
to criticize the social and philosophical failures of Capitalist society. During his writing process,
Miller was conflicted with how to portray the troubles of the character to an audience and didn t
quite have the complete story. His encounter with his uncle Manny Newman, who was a salesman
and refused to accept failure and lack of confidence in his household, inspired Miller to create the
character of Willy and transform the incomplete story to the play we know

Bowling For Columbine Documentary Essay
Documentary reflection
The assignment task for Term two was for a small group of people (three), to create a documentary
and then each person to write a reflection. Before starting this documentary, we studied the history
and development of documentaries. We then looked more into how different documentaries,
Spellbound (objective) and Bowling for Columbine (subjective), how each separate style was
created and made and how each different style affected people.
We ran into conflict when we were choosing what topic for our documentary. We all had many
ideas but most of them we had to rule out because they would not be suitable for Year 5 and 6. The
target audience only left us a few ideas. This is because when we first started off thinking ... Show

We added some funny videos to please the target audience.
We interviewed most of or interviewees in a classroom. The reason why we choose this area is
that because when a student is at school, they are constantly in a classroom. So soon enough
many feel more comfortable in a classroom than other places. We interviewed some grade tens
were their bags are. We assumed they would be more honest if they were interviewed
somewhere that was familiar and in a sense comforting because if they feel comfortable, they
would normally be more truthful. We chose to do a mid shot because when most people are
nervous, they tend to move their feet and we didn t want to show them nervous to be interviewed.
We also used different camera angles to show different people. Some were smaller, so we lowered
the angle and where the camera was positioned.
From watching Bowling for Columbine and Spellbound , we decided to choose a subjective
documentary because we were all more interested in Bowling for Columbine than Spellbound .
When editing we looked at what Bowling for Columbine did with editing things together and things
out to get what our point across more affected.
When working in a group, we found it hard to balance out the roles, but I think we did. I was the
editor and camera person which is a great duo because I imagined what I wanted to do with the
filming and just had to ask

The Springfield 1908 Race Riots
Springfield s history is a long and eventful one. Although there was one event that has seemed to
haunt the citizens of Springfield for generations upon generations. This event is commonly
referred to as the Springfield 1908 race riots. The race riots are remembered as a dark and
painful part of springfield s history. On June first, a single black man named Joe James jumped
off a freight train entering springfield, and began a streak of partying. He had been arrested soon
after, and was sentenced for 50 days in the jail, but was allowed to run errands while on parole.
WHile on parole on June 3rd, he left and didn t come back. While drunk, he had entered Clergy
Ballard s house the night before, and had slashed the neck of Clergy after attempting to sexually
assault his daughter. The next day, after waking up on a park bench, multiple of Clergy s
relatives and neighbors ganged up on James and beat him senseless until police arrived to arrest
James. They hauled him off to the town jail until shipped off to a court case. On August 14, over
a month later, a newspaper reported that Mabel Hallam had been raped by George Richardson.
She claimed that in the middle of the night while in her backyard, a black man came to her and
allegedly raped her. There was no evidence, but George was convicted anyway. Sadly, this isn t the
first instance of racism in springfield. Racial tensions had long been an issue in the midwest, and
even in the rest of the country. Springfield was an

  • 4. Critical Analysis Of Elizabeth Barrett Browning The Hopeless Romantic: Elizabeth Barrett Browning In the poem How do I love thee? by Elizabeth Barrett Browning, Browning asks how she loves her beloved and goes on to list the ways in which she loves him. Her love is seen as eternal and exists everywhere which brings to light the tone and styling of the poem and how it fits in the movement it was written in. Elizabeth Barrett Browning was born in 1806 at Coxhoe Hall, Durham, England. (Poetry Foundation) During the time of her writings, she was seen as one of the most influential poets for the Romantic Movement. Romantics focused on nature, human feelings and compassion, and rebelling for a cause, which Browning shows a lot of throughout her sonnet. Browning was born in 1806 at Coxhoe Hall in Durham, England. She was a romantic writer but it closely reflected the life she was living at the time. The oldest of twelve children, Elizabeth was the first in her family born in England in over two hundred years. For centuries, the Barrett family, who were part Creole, had lived in Jamaica, where they owned sugar plantations and relied on slave labor. (Poetry Foundation) Elizabeth s father, chose to raise his family in England, while his fortune grew in Jamaica. Educated at home Elizabeth apparently read passages from Paradise Lost and a number of Shakespearean plays, among other great works, before the age of ten. By her twelfth year, she had written her first epic poem, which consisted of four books of rhyming couplets. In 1826 , Elizabeth anonymously published her collection An Essay on Mind and Other Poems. Two years later, her mother passed away and the slow abolition of slavery in England and mismanagement of the plantations depleted the Barrett s income. Elizabeth s father moved his family to a coastal town and rented cottages for the next three years before settling permanently in London. Her father did not allow his children to marry, having them work on the plantations in Jamaica instead. Gaining attention for her work in the 1830s, Elizabeth continued to live in her father s London house, not by choice however. He began sending Elizabeth s younger siblings to Jamaica to help with the family s estates. Elizabeth opposed of slavery and did ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 5. French And Indian War Effects The French and Indian war, also known as the 7 years war, was not just a defeat for France and disaster for the Native Americans, but it spewed later trouble for Britain, causing the war to be a disaster for Britain as well. The first major impact the war was on France, for after the war they lost major portions of their territory in North America. The Native Americans had been impacted due to the fact that their lands were now under the control of the British Empire, an empire which usually had conflicts with Native American tribes. Finally, the war later spewed trouble for Britain due to the fact that with new territory west of the Appalachians, British colonists who were migrating westwards in hope of finding economic opportunities had... The war impacted France by it losing large amounts of its territories in North America. Secondly, the war had impacted the Native Americans by weakening many tribes, destroying others, and creating conflicts between natives and British colonists. Thirdly, The war, though in Britain s favor, had devastated it in the years to come by first causing large scale rebellions in the newly acquired lands, and by later angering colonists who were restricted from migrating to the newly conquered land. Finally, British colonists were benefited by the war in the fact that the Albany Plan was created, thus inspiring movements such as the declaration of independence a little over a decade after the war. Albeit, the colonists had a new sense of cooperation among themselves, they were still negatively impacted in the war in the aspect of not being allowed to pursue new economic opportunities because of the proclamation of 1763, the same year the war had ... • 9. The Time Machine, H. G. Wells In The Time Machine, H. G. Wells explores the Victorian elements of 19th century society through symbolism in the novel s depiction of the environment. Wells depicts the Time Machine as an impractical and extravagant construction in order to criticize the Victorian values which the Machine embodies. The White Sphinx, a statue the Time Traveler encounters when he travels the future, serves as symbol of the decay and death of the Victorian ideals. The Time Traveler s description of the Palace of Green Porcelain, a symbol Victorian extravagance, suggests that the Victorian ideal will fail because of its indulgence and superficiality. In The Time Machine , H. G. Wellsuses the symbolism of environments in order to convey his criticism of the Victorian ideal as an indulgent and superficial system of values that will lead failure. Wells depicts the Victorian ideal as impractical by describing the Time Machine as having extravagant Victorian features. The Time Machine is first introduced when the Time Traveler invites his guests, a variety of respectable men including the narrator, into his laboratory. The narrator describes the machine, focusing on its extravagant materials: Parts were of nickel, parts of ivory, parts had certainly been filed or sawn out of rock crystal. • 10. Essay on Ernest Hemingway s Big Two-Hearted River The world of Ernest Hemingway s Big Two Hearted River exists through the mostly unemotional eyes of the character Nick. Stemming from his reactions and the suppression of some of his feelings, the reader gets a sense of how Nick is living in a temporary escape from society and his troubles in life. Despite the disaster that befell the town of Seney, this tale remains one of an optimistic ideal because of the various themes of survival and the continuation of life. Although Seney itself is a wasteland, the pine plain and the campsite could easily be seen as an Eden, lush with life and ripe with the survival of nature. The world in the story exists as two separate but connected places. The first that Nick encounters... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Nick s lack of emotional response and the brevity of the description of the town seem to downplay whatever tragedy had befallen it, perhaps making it seem to not be a tragedy at all. While the cause of the fire is not explained, Nick comments on how it had happened within the previous year, but does not ponder the causes or even the effects. What Nick does concentrate on at this point is the color of the grasshoppers that he has so far encountered. The black grasshoppers are a symbol of a means of survival, having adapted through natural selection to be all black in only a year s time. In this way they blend in better with their charred surroundings and have become less noticeable to predators. Nick wonders how long they would stay that way, indicating his belief that this is a temporary mode of survival for them, and by extension that the charred landscape is also temporary. When it returns to its former state, the grasshoppers will adapt to that situation, and will continue to survive by changing their color again via natural selection. Survival, both its temporary means and its ultimate permanence, is certainly a theme throughout this story, and the river is the most obvious metaphorical representation. Among the undulant hillsides, the river remains steady ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

To be more specific, one of the most memorable places I ve visited was when my third ship hit port in Thailand. The fighters came forward and threw punches and kicks to each other s head and body. Both kids were putting on a good show and I could tell they were fighting for real. The Muay Thai match continued like this, each kid getting their hits in and even getting knocked down onto the floor. Each round lasted approximately two minutes, with five rounds total. During the breaks in between rounds, the fighters sipped their water and received coaching from their team. Although owning a business has many benefits and provides many opportunities, anyone planning to enter the world of entrepreneurship should be aware of its potential drawbacks. Individuals who prefer the security of a steady paycheck, a comprehensive benefit package, a two week paid vacation, and the support of a corporate staff probably should not go into business for themselves (Scarborough, 2014, p. 12). There are a lot of things that go into owning a small business and planning is one of the major elements when it comes to even thinking of owning a business of any size whether it is small, medium or large. When I begin to think about how important planning was to a business I thought back to my teachings as a child into my adult life about how the Bible talks to us about planning and being prepared. It also reminded me the principals in which God teaches us about preparing his people to be sufficient and taking care of themselves in order to provide not only for themselves and their family but in helping others also. In planning a business it takes prayer and being faithful to seeing your dream to fruition. This is not a small endeavor when it comes to a business. The Importance Of The First Language Acquisition During the first two or three years of development, a child requires interaction with other language users in order to bring the general language capacity into contact with a particular language such as English. (Yule, The Study of Language, 2010) It is very important for a child to hear a certain language and to interact with others who are using this certain language in order to produce the language because a child is acquiring the language from his environment as it is not genetically inherited. Hearing language sounds is not enough to acquire a language, but interacting with others who are using this language is a crucial requirement for the first language acquisition. So, in order to speak a language, a child must be able to hear that language being used. (Yule, The Study of Language, 2010) A child who is doing so must be physically capable of hearing a language hearing sense and producing sounds. Deaf infants stop making cooing and babbling noises after six months unlike the normal hearing infants who are making these noises during their first year. Under normal circumstances, human infants are certainly helped in their language acquisition by the typical behavior of older children and adults in the home environment who provide language samples, or input, for the child. • 22. Leadership In Julius Caesar What does leadership mean to someone? For most, it s how someone can make an impact. There are many important aspects of being a leader. The power of a great leader starts with the right mindset and willingness to accomplish what needs to be accomplished. One that is always a couple steps ahead and is there to look out for others. In William Shakespeare s famous play, Julius Caesar, few characters happen to have to right amount of potential to become a leader of Rome. With the death of the ruler Julius Caesar, two counter viewing characters gave a speech about Caesar which caused different reactions. One character in particular, Mark Antony, sticks out due to his great use of language and how he created an impact on Rome s people. Marcus Brutus on the other hand, also attempted to influence the people, but his inability to be more persuasive than Antony is what caused him to receive the more negative feedback. Brutus indeed spoke logically, but Antony would happen to make a better candidate as a leader because he spoke to the emotions of the people and knew what was right. Mark Antony qualifies as a superior leader because of his ability to connect with the people and by proving his loyalty. He is a solemn, confident, and persuasive man which are key reasons why he would make an outstanding ruler. In Julius Caesar, his confidence often shows. The threefold world divided, he should stand / One of the three to share it, (IV.i.14 15). Antony questioned whether or not Lepidus would be fitting to rule a third of the world. Antony would take one half, Octavius the other half and they would rule because he believed Lepidus was not capable. Antony s confidence shows his capability of being a leader. Relating back to the speech given at Caesar s funeral, Brutus gave a logical speech compared to Antony s persuasiveness which made the people have a different feedback and overall different impact on who they believed was more trustworthy. Along with Antony s confidence, his nobility towards others would have made him a great leader. His nobility was for Julius Caesar especially, who he was very close to. When Caesar died, Antony wanted revenge because of the unjust way he was murdered. Cry Havoc! and let slip the ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

In these times guards that worked for the lords of kingdoms were assigned the job of collecting taxes. Though the first real law enforcement as we see it today goes back to the colonial age in both England and newly found America. Colonial America followed the the British form of a policeorganization. Law enforcement has evolved because as time went on technologies came along which criminals had access to and crimes got more creative and complex. In turn the clearing house guarantees each side of the original bargain. 2.1.4 Margin Each party to a futures contract must deposit a sum of money known as margin with the clearing house. Margin payments act as a cushion against potential losses which the parties may suffer from future adverse price movements. The potential losses referred to here are those that would arise if one party to the trade defaults on the agreement. The risk that you default on the agreement to trade may increase if the market moves against you. For example, if you agree to buy a future and then the price of the underlying asset, and hence the future, goes down, you face a larger potential loss and consequently may be more likely to default. The essential feature of a future is that the money changes hand on the delivery date, rather than on the date that the deal is agreed. However, in practice, clearing houses require a small good faith deposit known as margin to be deposited soon after the deal is agreed. This money is held by the clearing house. Many people in the past dedicated their lives to the fight for human rights. They weren t afraid to stand for what they believed in and they believed in a better tomorrow. They did everything that was in their power to make sure it comes true. Mary McLeod Bethune, whom Eleanor met in 1927 at an education conference, also helped Eleanor s understanding of the problem African Americans were facing. She brought list of requests for Eleanor s interventions. The two of them developed extremely close relationship. When consideration is given to the status of philosophy in Greece at the end of the fifth century BCE, such a defense seems unnecessary and, at the same time, difficult. This is because ancient Greece provides us with the origins of philosophy, and yet this particular period in history serves as a good demonstration of the public s general distaste for and persecution of it. Several philosophers, including Pythagoras, Anaxagoras, and Protagoras, were ridiculed and attacked for their beliefs. In spite of these social deterrents, Socrates remained faithful to his life long pursuit, even though it led to his demise. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Socrates believes that the entire philosophical endeavor is a preparation for death and that the true philosopher looks forward to dying. His students, however, cannot understand why the philosopher should want to die, and Socrates hopes to dispel their fears of death while bringing them to an awareness of a figurative death where desires cease to control the soul . In addition to noticing the figurative nature of death, he also wants them to give further consideration to the literal death as well. The distinction between these two types of death, figurative and literal, creates two possible avenues for the philosophical life. Socrates defines death as the release of the soul from the body . This definition implies both a view of death as placing distance between the soul and the body during this life and a complete separation at the moment of death. The responsibility of the philosopher is to seek liberation here in this life and, in so doing, to prepare for the afterlife, as preparation for both the literal and figurative deaths coalesce into a single activity. Liberation here in the visible realm comes from recognizing the hindering function of the body in the soul s search for knowledge. Socrates comments that a soul associated too closely with the body will be ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Entrapping structure is a blend of solid and liquid, spatially incompatible, lipids that confers distinct characteristics of NLC when compared with other lipid NPs [80]. Indeed, since the matrix of the lipids composing the nanostructured lipid carriers is more amorphous than for SLN, association efficiency is higher and offers a slower release [81]. The nanodroplet of liquid lipid, containing most of the drug to entrap, becomes dispersed within the solid lipid, granting a slower migration of drug to the outer phase and, therefore, a higher entrapment that lasts longer. In order to develop and optimize polymeric NPs as buccal delivery systems, Pistone et al. chose chitosan, pectin and alginate as matrixpolymers and tripolyphosphate and zinc as negative and positive counterions, respectively [90]. The stability was determined by assessing nanoparticle aggregation and disintegration in contact with simulated salivary fluid, along with the variation of polydispersity index, hydrodynamic diameter and zeta potential. It was observed that alginate NPs presented good stability during 120 min in contact with artificial saliva since some parameters did not significantly vary throughout of the course of the assay. Even though the chelation of zinc ions would be expected due to the high content of phosphates in artificial saliva, so it was suggested that the presence of calcium in the dispersion media prevented the zinc chelation and maintained the structure of alginate NPs intact, as expected to occur in vivo [91].
