devastating journey to reach their goals and maintain their prosperity; however, not once do we
hear of their wives or female siblings. In the early 1900 s it was still presumed that this was the
role of the man. A woman from Kansas, however, rose beyond the clouds of prejudice her name
Amelia Earhart. Determined and hard working, this woman set on surpassing the limits previously
placed on women, and in her book, Last Flight, Amelia Earhart fought the many odds ... Show more
On April 8, 1931, she set the altitude record by flying 18,415 feet. On January 11, 1935, she
became the first person to fly across the Pacific from Honolulu to Oakland (Earhart 89 93). All
this was done during a time and place where people lossed their jobs, and the economy was bad.
Unemployment rate almost tripled between 1930 and 1933 as it jumped from 8.9 percent to 24.9
percent. Americans relied on Earhart s successes as national achievements and viewed them as
encouragement through all of the unrest of the great depression. It was a signal that while America s

symbol that the American dream was still active and that, at least in some way, those who worked

flashback scenes unfold in chapters introduced by snapping witty dialogue between Joe and
Seligman. It begins with Joe throughout her teenage years, when she first begins to discover her

film whips through a wide range of topics, such as genderrole conformity, consent, and, metal

the 7th of May at The Playhouse Theatre. This play is an adaptation of the famous book by author

A murder is announced in the local newspaper and it reads that it would take place at Little

regulation behavior I found there were three different data collection methods that were used by the
research team. The first data collection method that was used was pre and post surveys. Surveys
