Joe Linta Reputation
On a crisp October evening in Hamden, Connecticut, two high school football teams face off.
The crowd roars as the Hamden Hall football team takes the field with the head coach, Joe Linta,
slowly jogging behind. Tonight it is all about coaching his team to an undefeated season and
getting to the conference championship game. The next day, Linta is in the office talking to
NFL executives, negotiating a contract extension for Joe Flacco, and watching film on dozens of
Division III football players. Joe Linta is more than a high school football coach and more than a
sports agent; he is one a kind. Joe Linta is a sports agent, but more importantly, a talent evaluator
and an advocate for players who are overlooked or come from smaller schools.... Show more

Linta sees big things from Schreck with his size, quickness, and hands. He believes he is the
type of player that will be in the league for ten years. In an ultra high competitive market of
sports agents, Linta is in a class of his own. Instead of competing for the high profile college
athletes, he has figured out how to focus on the guys that not many people are talking about and
finding the best of them to sign. Joe Linta gives opportunities to the players that deserve it but
never thought they had a chance. Usually it is a success for the sports agent when they sign a
new player, but for Joe Linta, the player is lucky to have the opportunity to sign with him. It is
no guarantee that you will sign with a team, but every team will take a look at you because they
know you check the boxes for character and potential. No other agent that Linta knows about is
thoroughly evaluating every player or has the level of year after year success. When the 2017
NFL Draft comes around, do not be surprised if you hear Herdman s or Schreck s names called.
They might be players who no one has heard of, but Linta s success shows that they are worth
taking a chance

William Pennsylvania Research Paper
Many historians think about how Pennsylvania had a big impact on the United States that we call
home today.Pennsylvania was one of the first thirteen colonies which also means it was one of the
first states to come up with laws. The reason Pennsylvania had such a big effect on the United
States history is that our ancestors made fairly good decisions but they also made bad
decisions. When William Penn founded Pennsylvania in 1681 on what was known as the Quaker
religion. When people look at the history Pennsylvania they see the good things our ancestors chose
to do when it came to setting up the thirteen colonies, but what most people overlook is the bad
things they chose to do like how they slaughtered thousands of Indians at one time.So with... Show

Luke 15 Analysis
The parable of the Prodigal Son in Luke 15 teaches us about God s desire to forgive us through the
gift of Reconciliation. Throughout the parable, the importance of relationship is highlighted and
through these relationships we understand God s desire for forgiveness. At each point of the
parable, relationships are tested and ultimately strengthened through love, mercy and compassion.
He realised his troubles and the situation he was then in were entirely due to his own actions and
he came to the understanding that he made many wrong choices and owned up to his deductions
made to look like a fool. He saw that he should have never left his father and should certainly never
treat him the way he did. People can relate to the prodigal sons situation and come to conclusion
about wrongs... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
When asing and preparing for forgiveness people get mixed feelings for example they may feel
guilt and sadness knowing they have hurt themselves for someone else. When asking for
forgiveness people should understand that there are things needed to face due to there mistakes
and doing so makes the situation better and much easier. A way that the scripture is lived out in
the contemporary Catholic community is how the father took his son and celebrated at his
return, to show him that he is loved no matter what and in any circumstance he will be accepted
into his own home. This is lived in the Catholic community by how anyone is accepted not
matter looks, colour, belief, colour etc god and the community will take you in as their own. We
have learnt that god will forgive us and help us in our needed times and when we are struggling.
As god s children god understands hardship and chooses to forgive us if we surrender ourselves to
him and choose not to make the decision

What Is The Difference Between Romeo And Juliet 1968 Play
For never was a story of more woe than this of Juliet and her Romeo. William Shakespeare.
Romeo and Juliet is a tragedy written by William Shakespeare early in his career about two
young star crossed lovers whose deaths ultimately reconcile their feuding families. It was among
Shakespeare s most popular plays during his lifetime and along with Hamlet, is one of his most
frequently performed plays. The 1968 film version of Romeo and Juliet is a British Italian
romance film based on the tragic play by William Shakespeare. The film was directed and co
written by Franco Zeffirelli, and starred Olivia Hussey as Juliet Capulet, and Leonard Whiting as
Romeo Montague. The film of 1968 is by far the best and most adapted version of the play, and
most popular version as well.... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
This version was the first to use actors who were close to the age of the characters from the
original play. Not only were the actors age very accurate, their portrayal of the characters were
so believable because the actors playing Romeo and Juliet actually fell in love in the making of
the film. All of the actors of the film played their characters very well and made them come to
life. Olivia and Leonard told the story of Romeo and Juliet very accurately not only through their
lines but with their body language. Viewers can really feel the emotional connection between the
two. All the relationships between characters was spot on, my favorite being Lord Capulet and
Paris. Although the acting throughout the film was very good, some scenes weren t as good as
the others. The worst scenes would have to be the deaths of Mercutio and Tybalt. Those two death
scenes were very unbelievable and unrealistic and didn t give viewers the burden of emotion as

Law School Scandal
Addendum
I would like to take this opportunity to respectfully make the Admissions Committee aware of the
extenuating circumstances surrounding my academic dismissal from New York Law School.
I was granted admission to New York Law School in the fall of 2012. Unfortunately, I was
academically dismissed from NYLS for academic deficiency after my first semester. Life events
beyond my control adversely affected my overall academic performance. In the months following
my law school admission to NYLS, my mother s health condition began to deteriorate rapidly. She
experienced a variety of symptoms such as weight loss, anxiety, elevated liver enzymes, jaundice
of the skin and eyes, swelling, nausea and vomiting after meals, mild fevers, loss of ... Show more

I resumed my legal education at Florida A M UniversityCollege of Law, but sadly disaster struck
again. I, once again, was dismissed from law school after my first semester. This time, my
mother s health had nothing to do with my dismissal from law school. A different type of life
event, a case of infidelity, adversely affected my overall academic performance. As a man who
is a true gentleman, I will not provide much context or detail about the nature of the infidelity. I
relocated to Florida along with my ex fiancГ©e. Apparently, she became enamored with another
man who lived in the same complex building we lived in. I found out of her unfaithfulness days
before review session week. One afternoon, I decided not to remain in the law library, as
accustomed, and go home early to study; and the worst case scenario, you can imagine,
occurred. Words cannot express what I felt when I discovered my ex fiancГ©e with her lover in
my apartment. This experience was perhaps one of, if not, the most excruciatingly painful
experiences I have ever endured. After this event, which happened days before review session
week commenced, I was not able to remain focused enough to continue with my studies; and did
not function the way I wanted to. Frankly, I was in an absent minded state, my mind was filled
with multiple thoughts, doubts, and questions, I was emotionally distraught and dealt with a
variety of emotions ranging from grief, insecurity, and embarrassment to guilt; and instead of
focusing on my studies I became more concerned with trying to figure out what had gone wrong
in my relationship. As a result, I missed classes, group study meetings, and review sessions prior
to finals; and consequently, I underperformed and paid the price, as I was academically dismissed
from FAMU College of Law at the end of the semester. Believe you me, I am not the

The Spanish Colonization Of Latin America
Because the Indians and Spanish lived in different areas in Latin America, the Indian culture and
society did not change significantly. Or did there society change? The Spanish colonizers had a
huge influence on the indigenous peoples of Mexico and Peru s, culture, language, traditions,
religion, even on their native food. One can say that this came into being shortly after Columbus
discovered the New World. The Spanish conquistadors, who sailed with Columbus to the New
World, were the first to leave their mark on the new territory. We still see some of these traditions in
today s society. The Spanish taught the Indians of their oral traditions of legends and jokes, music,
food, beliefs, and customs. The Indians even picked up on their native tongue, Spanish, and used it
as their own and still do to this day. There are many things in the Mexican culture which have
contributed to the shaping and molding of the modern Latino society, such as the Mexican history,
culture, language, religion, and traditions.
The Indigenous culture is not simply a blend of Mexico used to be, but the results of a unique
historical process that developed with an originality all its own. This culture was divided into many
different social classes after the Spanish took the reins. Like they started to develop a governmental
system for the Indigenous people and they started to tax them with the Bourbon Reforms. Many
Indigenous people hated the thought of this so they took matters in to their own

Reflection On Ponics Lesson
Phonics Lesson Reflection
15 points
As a future teacher, you will be self reflecting on your teaching and the activity that you had the
class complete as part of the lessons. By reflecting on what you presented in class, you will learn
how to and what to modify in future lessons which will help you become a stronger teacher (Ed
TPA). Please answer the following prompts (honestly) with a minimum of 4 sentences for each
section.
1. How do you think the lesson went?
I personally think that my lesson went pretty well. It seemed like many people were engaged and
they participated. There are things that I could have done to make the activity more challenging for
the consonant digraphs and consonant blends, but overall I think the activity was fun. I felt like the
students payed attention to when I was speaking at the beginning and the end of the activity, which
was ideal for any lesson.
2. What were the strengths about the presentation (lesson and/or teaching) and why?
The strengths of the lesson in my opinion was the fact that the students could play a game while
also participating with consonant blends and consonant digraphs. Even though throwing buttons
into a cup is fun and the lesson involved competition, it still made the students think about
consonant digraphs and consonant blends. I also think that it helped the students realize how many
words are made with consonant blends and consonant digraphs, which will help with their
phonemic awareness.

The Blues
I.Introduction
Today s forecast; gloomy, and there is no sunshine in sight. If you had any form of depression,
that is what it would seem like everyday. Depression is defined as a total body illness that affects

and it s described as a feeling of sadness, worthlessness, or gloominess that can last from several

type of depression is when a person experiences the characteristics of depression within a certain
degree of intensity, either in a single episode, or that keep reoccurring over time. Another
common type of depression is bipolar disorder, or as others refer to it as manic depression. Manic
depression involves cycled periods of severe depression with times of extremely elevated or
irritable mood known as mania. Many people also under go dysthymia. People with dysthymia go
through life almost always feeling mildly depressed, which can greatly impair their ability to enjoy

Is Mayella Ewell Powerful Or Powerful Analysis
Is Mayella ewell powerful? That is the question that is asked and must be answered.Throughout
the story To kill a mockingbird Mayella shows some glimpses of power but not enough to say
she is powerful. For example in the beginning she shows that she can not even control her home
life so how can she be powerful. Also she shows that she is just too poor for her to have power. Now
in the next three paragraphs I will explain my thinking on why I believe Mayella is not powerful.
In the first paragraph I will explain why and how I believe Mayella Ewell is not powerful, with the
use of class.First off I would like to show you one of my biggest reasons for believing Mayella is
not powerful Maycombs Ewells lived behind the town garbage dump in what used to be a negro

Male Dominance In Alice Walker s Color Purple
Male Dominance in The Color Purple The Color Purple is a story of transformation, of the will of
one woman against all the men in her life, finding happiness in what life deals you, and dealing
with a male dominated society. Although there are stereotypical elements for both men and women,
within the main characters, traditional roles are replaced with more complex concepts. Living
during the early 1900 s, a young girl must overcome years of abuse, betrayal, and become an
independent, confident woman. Through strength and persistence, Celie is able to find truth
through the female bonds and friendships of unconditional love in Alice Walkers The Color Purple.
In The Color Purple, women were often weakened by men having their sense of self worth
controlled by principles of beauty, ability, and what they could provide for men. The men in the
novel kept them uneducated so that they were submissive and if they ever got out of line they
would be beaten to remind them of their place. The men in the novel were able to do and go as
they pleased with no backlash or repercussions from the women in the novel. As Mr.__ would
say Men s supposed to wear the pants. The cycle of violence in the novel creates misery for the

Pros And Cons Of The World Bank And The IMF
The World Bank and the IMF
I am from Bolivia and I have seen the conflicts created by the World Bank fist hand, in my country
, my city, my streets , my home.
From 1986 to 2001, Bolivia s economic policies were influenced by the World Bank. The Bolivian
government received more than US$ 350 million to solve problems caused by the previous political
instability causing that in 1985 inflation reached a 25000% annually.
The World Banklent money to Bolivia in exchange for our following their economic policies. These
policies stated that we privatize the state owned enterprises (Gas, Water, Communications, Electric
Power, ETC), increase taxes and reduce the funds for health and education to reduce the budget
deficit.
Unfortunately, none of these policies worked in Bolivia causing serious economic, social and
political conflicts ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
During the confrontations 34 people died , many killed by military snipers.
Conclusion
The World Bank or the IMF is managed by big economically powerful nations, even though they
were created to protect and help countries that are in need . They first look for the benefit of these
big countries and try to make other countries dependent on loans.
The world bank had policies created for the countries that were asking for economical help, but
these were not evaluated and were made without assessing culture and economic capacity of each
country.
Each country is different, different people, different resources, different culture and an exhaustive
analysis was necessary to implement any policy . If the IMF had respected the sovereignty of the
country, letting them follow their own rules and letting the people from the country create their
own strategy get afloat, they would have had better

What Is Swot Analysis Of Airasia
AirAsia was originally launched to compete with Malaysian Airline by offering low priced air

AirAsia is currently the second largest Airline in Malaysia and offers low cost airfares. This is

The Effects of Advancements in Lighting on The Theatre...
Without light, the theatre cannot exist, that much is certain. As actors, as audience members, as
technical visionaries, we are only as powerful as the light we are given. The extent to which we
depend upon light in performance has changed dramatically throughout history, however, as light
technology developed and expanded. In the history of performance, the artistic community is
constantly victim to the limits of lightingtechnology, and exponentially altered by breakthroughs.

Having only heightened text and elaborate spectacles to guide them, much of the subtlety,
specificity, and emotion must have been lost in translation.Additionally, indoor performances,
primarily requested by courts and nobility, specifically used candles and torches as sources of
illumination. Candles were placed at the front of the stage, between the wings leading to the stage,
and above both the stage in order to frame the players. Chandeliers were also hung above those in
attendance, to create a sense of audience. This marks both the first appearances of footlights in the
theatre and, though basic, the beginning of a formulaic structure for lighting a performance space.
Issues prevailed, however there were still no successful methods for specific lighting, unless an
actor held the light themselves to illuminate their face, nor were colored lights or gobo devices
available. Though lighting was making its way into the theatrical world, it was purely technical, not
called upon to be inventive, create illusions or accomplish tasks at this point in time. Limited design
innovations were mostly rooted in the scarce advancements made with regard to lighting
technology. Where this began to change and evolve was in the early 1800s, when the gaslight was
introduced into the performing arts sphere. The new technology was brought into the theatre
industry by William Murdoch and later F.A. Winsor, who used the lights to replace candles in

Two Approaches Of Pragmatics
According to Schmitt (2010), there are two approaches of pragmatics, a cognitive or psychological
approach which is exploring the relation between linguistic meaning of utterances, the
decontextualized, what speakers mean by their utterances on a particular situation and how hearer
interpret those utterances on those particular situations. Cognitive approach was developed by
philosophers Austin, Searle, and Grice. On the other hand, social pragmaticsapproach which focuses
on the communicative exchanges between individuals in social, cultural and other contextual
factors. Brown and Levinson (1978 1987) introduced face model of politeness to this approach.
The main objective of pragmatics is to study on how non native speakers comprehend and produce
speech acts in a target language. Speech act is not the whole of pragmatics, but is perhaps currently
the most important part of the subject. Many of the topics addressed in both narrow and broad
views derive from three major pragmatic theories: Speech Acts, Conversational Implicatures, ...

The Brazilian Culture Of Brazil Essay
Much like the U.S., Brazilian culture is extremely diverse. Brazil s current population of 190
million represents various nationalities from European to African (Country Facts). Brazil has an
extremely diverse culture with some common pervasive threads that grouped together give Brazil a
national identity.
The concept of aesthetics describes what people of certain cultures tend to consider to be popular or
in good taste (Wild Wild, 2014). To this extent, despite being mostly unified by a single language,
Brazil represents such a diverse culture that regional aesthetic variances could almost seem like they
were different countries altogether (Castano, Goossens, Terlouw, and Vliet, n.d.). According to
Encyclopedia Britannica, of all the cultures that make up the Brazilian way of life, the Portuguese
culture is the dominant influence and provides the main language, religion, and many customs.
Indigenous Indians and African influences are also apparent in some forms, especially in certain
parts of the country.
If one were to ask a Brazilian what symbols they feel would represent the culture of Brazil,
Everyculture.com states that most in the country would view soccer, family, and the four day
national party called Carnival as the symbols of Brazil s passion and free spirit. Values are those
ideas and beliefs to which people are emotionally attached (Wild Wild, 2014), and to that end
Brazilians have a very strong focus on family. Families in Brazil are typically large,

the time he acts like he is the top dog or the best of the best . He stayed over at my house the day
before, we were both supposed to try out for the soccer team. To be honest. He really wasn t that
good at it. Like i said, he thought he was the best of the best . After we woke up Bailey and i ate

We were going against Lexington high school. While we walked onto the field examined the
other team. I had a lot of confidence in myself and tried to hype up my team and gave my team
an inspiring speech when we all came together to form a circle. Next we all walked onto the field
into our positions, i was starting. I was the left forward position. Forwards in soccer are the most
difficult position on the field because that was the position where your suppose to score most of the
points and control the offense. I was always a forward because coach said i had a lot of speed,
agility, and good footwork. At this time the game had started, we had the ball first i passed it to the
other forward on our team. His name was Jimmy, he was the most aggressive forward on our team.
He was a great forward. At this time it was near the end of the game. The score was 3 6 we were
losing terribly. Everybody on our team was tired and bummed out and lost hope. We were all tired
of losing all the time. I saw the emptiness in everyone s eyes. I felt sad as well. While i was running
on the field i heard our goalkeeper named Matias yell out GRAYSON !!. I turned around fast and
forgot everything else. I saw Matias lob the ball down the other side of the field to where i was
running. My eyes were all on that ball, i saw it flying in the air then falling towards me while i
ran as fast as i could to catch up to it. A voice in my head just kept saying, just go for it! . So i
waited at the right moment to where the ball was perfectly positioned to where i was able to
header the ball into the goal. Finally it was that time, i lunged into the air as high as i could, as
soon as i tried to header the ball into the goal in mid air. One of the players on the opponent s
team came out of nowhere!! He was so fast, i don t know where he came from. While i was still

Future Of Social Security Essay
Social Security and a Brighter Future
Declining pensions and rising health care costs and shrinking home values and savings accounts
make Social Security more important than ever before. This paper will focus on the U.S. Social
Security system exploring 1.) The principles and history of the U.S. Social Security system, 2.)
Issues surrounding the negatives and positives of the system, and 3.) The future of our U.S. Social
Security system. It is with all intentions to leave you with an understanding of the role and purpose
of Social Security, how it affects you and how to keep Social Security alive.
Principles and History
The Social Security Act first evolved in 1601 from England s development of Poor Laws . These
Laws were the first to address the responsibility of the state to provide for the welfare of its
people. When the settlers came over to America they had adapted many things from the English,
one being the idea behind the Poor Laws , which is what led to the Social Security Act that was
signed into law by President Roosevelt on August 14th 1935. This act was created to be a social
insurance program to pay retired workers age 65 or older a continuing income ... Show more content

goes into a Social Security trust fund. Well Kind of, the money actually goes to buy bonds from
the U.S. Treasury and then Congress can use your money how they see fit. So essentially the
government can take your earnings that you no longer have any entitlement to and spend them on

Representation Of Victorian Society In Joan Lindsay s...
Joan Lindsay, the renowned author of the seminal Australian novel Picnic at Hanging Rock, has
foreground the representation of Victorian society as repressed and constrained through the
characterisation of various figures throughout the novel. The riveting tale ensues the inexplicable
disappearance of three girls and a governess, with only one girl to ever be seen again, during
Appleyard College s annual picnic to the supernatural Hanging Rock on Valentine s Day in 1900.
One of the central themes in the narrative is the depiction of the Victorian Society as uptight and
controlled, which has been established by several characters, including Miss McCraw, Mrs
Appleyard and Mademoiselle. Miss McCraw, the eccentric mathematics tutor, is one of the least
likely to vanish. Nevertheless, this is precisely what occurs and through this aberrant disappearance
a notion is presented that excessive suppression results in radical methods of release. Moreover, the
portrayal of Mrs Appleyard develops the readers perception of Victorian society and displays how
rigid social constraints will eventually breakdown. In contrast, Mademoiselle, the passionate arts
governess, juxtaposes the previously mentioned characters by being caring and affectionate towards
the girls. The characterisation of these individuals throughout Picnic at Hanging Rock contributes
to the overall portrayal of Victorian society as uptight and stifled and progresses the reader s
understanding of this representation. Joan

Michael Pollan in 2006, published a work that has to some degree changed the way that people eat,

the link between the way we choose to separate ourselves from the farmer and the market, with
little thought and the fact that we use way to much corn and petroleum to manufacture and
obtain our food, then logically get taken by the marketing of organic food and then the difficulty
of a one time experience challenging the market to forage in the environment we live. The ethos
of the work is derived from the fact that Pollan is willing and able as an individual, on a very
intimate level to trace all these links to a formidable conclusion, as well as his own credential as
a consumer and a food writer. (Shea 54) He vividly describes his experiences and what he has

APUSH DBQ: Jacksonian Democrats
Andrew Jackson became known as the war hero after the Battle of New Orleans. His victory over
the Indians in the battle helped his public recognition and increased his popularity in society. In the
election of 1820, Andrew Jackson ran for presidency and won with flying colors. Jackson s humble
background gave him an edge over other candidates he was the voice for the common man and
endorsed the idea of national democracy. His years in office was named the Jacksonian era as he
changed the views and ideas of politics forever. Jackson s supporters called themselves the
Jacksonian democrats and viewed themselves as the guardians of the United States Constitution,
political democracy, individual liberty, and equality of economic opportunity. Although this is true
to a certain extent, Jackson advocated what he thought would be beneficial to the common man.
Jackson spread the equality of economic opportunities and remained loyal to the constitution, but
fell short when considering individual liberties and political democracy. Jacksonian Democrats
guarded the equality of economic opportunities. Since Jackson came from a middle class family
and understood the hardships the common citizen faced, he made sure that power was held in the
majority of the citizens as opposed to the limited wealthy elite class. Jackson vetoed the national

Racial Differences In Basketball Essay
In my opinion, I definitely think there is a racial difference when it comes to athletic ability. For
the most part, something that we can all agree on, is that we can see the racial differences in
sports especially when it comes to basketball. When trying to find individuals who are good at
playing basketball, most likely the team will consist of a majority of individuals who comes from
an African descent. The question however is, why is this the case? I believe that there are two
theories to explain this concept.
The first theory that I feel like might be the answer is because, it is something that they have grown
up and have done throughout several generations. When children see certain activities that are
constantly repeated throughout their family, or those who look similar to them race wise, they feel
like it is something that they have to do as well. If we view this situation in the eyes of a child
who is African American, when he or she sees that there is a famous man from an African descent
who is the best player within the entire basketball team, the child now believes that those who are
black are better at playing basketball, which encourages the child to follow the footsteps of those
who belongs in their race. However, if the same child watches a soccer match, the child sees that
there isn t anyone on the soccer team who is black. So, in the child s mind, he or she is already
making assumptions that, those who are African American are the ones who play

“the Evacuation of Children in World War Two Was a Great...
The evacuation of children in World War Two was a great success. How far do the sources you
have used support this interpretation of evacuation in World War Two? (25 marks)
Before the War in September 1939, the government understood the risk of air raids and the danger
they bring upon major cities in England. Plans for evacuation started as early as 15 years before in
1924; the Air Raid Precaution Committee (ARPC) identified London as the main target, with
children as the biggest concern. The government identified, after the ARPC produced a report on
the potential disasters of air raid attacks in 1925, that maintaining civilian morale was a priority,
and that the fear of bombing would bring it down. So, to prevent low morale (and also ... Show

To further justify evacuation and therefore show its success in keeping evacuees safe, source six
shows casualties in Liverpool. It shows that the death rate was generally over 100 and even in May
1941, at 1453. Again, this justifies the need to evacuate and the safety achieved through evacuation.
Finally, sources three shows the success in evacuation as the sources show effectiveness and good
organisation as a success of evacuation. This encompasses overall efficiency and pre evacuation
planning. To be able to transport the huge amount of 1million (intended 4million) to the
countryside required this efficiency and overall, sources three and source two mention the
efficiency and order of the transport (trains) and organisation in the countryside. In source three, a
newspaper article from Kent, says that the departures were efficient, reflecting that it was seen to
that each child got milk and food , and followed up with no confusion . Even source two, though
showing evacuation in a negative way, also comments that the trains ran to time and that
evacuation came complete with teachers . Having teachers is shown in sources one, three and four
as well. In source one, it is shown as a teacher with a group of children, in three there are
mentioned teachers in charge and in four, the graph shows about 103,000 teachers were evacuated.

So if it had followed an autocratic style of leadership it would not have found the secret of
successful leadership management styles.
If it had followed the bureaucratic style too it would have not achieved its goals; expansion into the
international market, utilisation of new technology, loyalty among the customers, and joint
ventures with other companies (http://ivythesis.typepad.com/term_paper_topics/2010/07/case

company should have minimum layers of management, but in bureaucratic leadership style there
are many layers and a certain pattern of regulations that should be followed.
The Paternalistic leadership style would have got a further positive impact on the organisation.
Because it gives the employees that Virgin Atlantic is their own company, i.e. they would have felt
they are the next generation to handle everything in the company once the leader takes rest, since
they have been delegated properly. But to be so the leader should have more emotional quotient

What Is The Mood Of Fahrenheit 451
The setting of the novel, Fahrenheit 451, by Ray Bradbury, is set in America 2053. The mood is
sad. People die and books burn. There is a lot of Sci Fi. The main character didn t enjoy his job.
There are a lot of characters, but i m going to only name three, Guy Montag, his job is a firefighter
who burns books but mentally likes books, he is a protagonist, and a person who changes society.
Clarrise, she was spotted by Montag at night. Clarisse likes to talk, and is always in a good mood.
She was always considered the crazy girl . Clarisse enjoyed nature, but one night she was hit by a
car and died. The third character is Faber, Faber is an old college professor. Faber acts different and
knows a lot about books that are banned. Faber has been asked about certain books and
paragraphs. Faber was always thought as an old man... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

second event is about montag. Montag had read a book quietly, but then he fessed up to his wife,
Mildred, and they got into an argument. Montag then decides that he doesn t like his life or his
wife. The third event is that Montag gets caught and leaves town. Mildread called the cops on him
and then hounds come. Montag got followed and he ran. The conflict in the novel, Fahrenheit 451,
is man vs. man. Montag and Mildred got into a fight why would I be mad! said Mildread ( page
43 ). The only reason they got into a fight was because Mildred found Montag s books.
Eventually Montag decided to leave his wife. Montag and Mildred used to be husband and wife,
but then Mildred started to be a pain like a thorn in the leg. Montag got chased by cops because
Mildred told about the books. There was always a hound outside of Montag s house, because they

The British Of The Colonial Expansion And Governance
Leveraging its advantages in technology and belief in its moral superiority the British were able
to build and manage this vast empire through networks of trade, political governance and force
(Mann and Roberts, 1991; Lawrence, 1996). The establishment and perpetuation of British legal
institutions was an integral part of the colonial expansion and governance. POGG, therefore, was
undoubtedly a creature designed by the British to exercise direct and indirect imperial control
over its overseas territories (Yusuf, 2014). The success of this approach to expanding and
maintaining an empire is evidenced by the fact that by it was the largest empire in world history. It
eventually included large geographic area of Africa, Asia, North America and the Caribbean with
its reach in global trade including close links with South America and other areas (Lawrence 1996).
Figure 1.2: The British Empire (colored red) as it was in 1921 (The British Empire in 1921, n.d)
This growth of the empire reflects both the transposition of British institutions and adaptation to the
environment of the colonized lands. The British colonial institutional development reflected a
policy which by 1839 focused primarily on constitutional rule and relations with the far flung
territories. Compared to the French Empire, the result was a more decentralized system designed
to reduce any basis for rebellion or discord in the colony (Grier, 1999). The existence and
persistence of a signature colonial institution

The Bible By The Poisonwood Bible
Midterm
Movies and books about missionaries haven t portrayed missionaries in a positive light. Fiction
writers and movie producers have led people on to believe, that missionaries are self serving and
as having specific intentions. One of the prime examples of misrepresenting a missionary; is the
book called The Poisonwood Bible. I had to read The Poisonwood Bible in an English class.
The Poisonwood Bible is the story of a missionary named Nathan Price and his family. Nathan
was Reverend and he was mean to his wife and children. Nathan and his family lived in the
Congo. He was disrespectful to his wife and his children were terrified of him. I remember reading
the book thinking, how does he represent God?
Missionaries are sent out to cross cultural barriers and spread the gospel. Missionaries are not sent
too foreign countries to destroy or to break the people down. Missionaries have faced scrutiny,
because of the negative of missionaries in movies and in books. There some positive movies made
about missionaries.
Jesus was the perfect missionary. Jesus went to different places and taught the word of God. Jesus
drew people unto him. Jesus told his disciples, that if they follow him, he would make them
fishermen of men. Jesus taught anywhere. Jesus delivered the word so profoundly.
Jesus was from the lineage of Abraham. God made a covenant with Abraham to make him the
father of many nations. According to Matthew Jesus was the Messiah for all people. When Jesus
became angry,

The Colorado College FUCC (Freeride Union of Colorado College) bus is a student monitored
ski/snowboard bus that leaves every Saturday morning at seven and drops students off one of
three ski resorts. The bus costs five dollars and can seat around fifty students. While many
students sign up for the bus, it is common for it to not be full when it leaves from campus. Last
Saturday was no exception. With about 30 college students on board, the bus left for Breckenridge
Ski Resort. After observing the three hour drive and people on the slopes, I noticed a gender
difference I did not expect based on my peer s actions and clothing.

As my peers rolled their jackets up to use as pillows, I noticed that the female presenting students
tended to have brighter colored jackets that were also patterned, while male presenting students
had darker colored jackets. The color of snow pants also depended on the gender. Snow pants are
typically one of three main colors: white, brown, and black. Women tended to wear more brown or
white pants while men deviated more towards black colored pants.
When we arrived at Breckenridge, students grouped together with their friends got their skis
/snowboards and headed to the gondola. Some people needed to put their boots on so they went
into the lodge to do so. After getting their gear on, the students in the lodge left their boot bags or
shoes underneath benches. Leaving their gear in public places, the female presenting students were
more trusting. The male presenting students worried more that people would steal the gear. The
groups of students were co ed, however, I observed that the male presenting students were inclined
to lead and decide where to ski/snowboard. Men were also prone to go first and faster down the
hills than their female counterparts. On the slopes, women were more concerned about safety and
visibility conditions than men.
After skiing a few runs, it was time to go in for lunch. The lodges were warmer than the frigid
conditions outside and packed with people of all ages and

Study Of The Navy Leaders Guide Mobile Application
Summary
The Benchmarking Quarterly Report provides the results of the Technology Enhancement Center s
(TEC) most recent benchmark study that evaluates the user experience and usability of T2
products. This report reviews the benchmark study of the Navy Leaders Guide mobile application.
During the 3rd quarter of 2015, TEC conducted a pilot benchmark study comprised of attitudinal
and behavioral methods used to evaluate user satisfaction and performance of the Navy Leaders
Guide mobile application. Although 15 elected to participate in the study, only 10 participants
completed the full evaluation consisting of the Questionnaire for User Interaction Satisfaction
(QUIS) (Chin, et al 1988) and a think aloud task analysis (Ericsson, et al 1980).
Based on data provided solely by the QUIS, the overall mean is 7.75 (Very Good).
Introduction
TEC benchmark studies measure the current user experience and usability of T2 and T2/VA co
branded products such as Navy Leaders Guide and AfterDeployment.org to provide a baseline
against similar products and/or future T2 product versions. Benchmarking against similar products
is useful for identifying the strengths and weakness in user experience and usability for future
growth, and benchmarking earlier versions against newer versions of a product shows user
experience and usability improvement over time.
This benchmark study was a pilot designed to evaluate the T2/VA co branded product Navy
Leaders Guide using attitudinal and behavioral

Lord Of The West Wind, By Percy Shelley
Nature is a source of inspiration for each poet from which they determine imagery, emphasizing its
symbolic meaning and part as a powerful force in human life. Percy Shelley s Ode to the West
Wind and John Keats To Autumn are fixated on nature. Shelley addresses nature in majority of his
poems climatically, according to his spontaneous and momentary response, while Keats turns to
contemplation due to his personal suffering. Both poets are impacted by the seasonal process in
nature which ushers them into the temperament of transition and aging. However, both of them
differently perceive the same natural manifestations. In Percy Shelley s Ode to the West Wind
considers the subject of cyclic regeneration through the depiction of nature. Shelley watches the
destructive changes in nature created by the autumnal wind with a desire for the following spring
and revival. In the seasonal process he sees a typical model for conceivable revolutionary changes
both in his own life and in the current social and political structure of his nation. The usage of
nature demonstrates Shelley s gratefulness towards beauty and the natural world. His Ode to the
West Wind fundamentally engages the dynamic brilliant power of the west wind to issue him that
vitality which has the capacity to change the world. He describes how powerful the wind is and
communicates his poem in a shrewd method that paints readers a picture of how great and amazing
the wind can be. Through the utilization of

Discrimination of Irish Catholic Immigrants During the...
Discrimination of Irish Catholic Immigrants During the 1920 s
During the 1920 s there were many controversial issues. There was a concern about declining moral
and ethical values, which led to restrictions such as prohibition for example. The concern about
these issues seemed most intense when they pertained to religion. In situations like these it always
seems necessary to place the blame somewhere. One particular group on which this blame was
emphasized happened to be the immigrants. Irish Catholic immigrants were a main focus of
discrimination in many ways.
The fight for immigration restriction was fueled by America s negative view of foreigners.
Protestants especially made it a point to link alcohol ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The fear that surrounded this time period was a perfect way to spread the propaganda of the
Klan. It was believed that this group of immigrants held their primary allegiance to a foreign
sovereign over loyalty to the United States. This anti Catholicism was a driving force behind the
popularity of the KKK. To show the mentality of the time, there was no tax on Klan fees because
they were considered to be a benevolent society by the government. The fact that the KKK
adamantly discriminated against the Irish Catholics may seem surprising because the majority of
today s population would assume that the Klan s members encompassed any person who appeared
to be Caucasian.
This group of immigrants was also discriminated in the workplace. Employers made the wages for
this group lower than wages of other employees. The intention for this ill treatment was that the
immigrants would warn their Irish relatives of the bad conditions here in the U.S. discouraging
them from immigrating as well as to encourage the Irish Catholic immigrant employees who resided
in the U.S. to leave.
This direct discrimination against the Irish Catholic immigrants was hypocritical in the democratic
and liberal society of America. It is wrong to allow one group to infringe upon another one s rights
just because of religious

Have you ever read a story that is just amazing? What makes that one story so great? What
elements can you look for to find more books like this? What is your type of story? Some stories
are better than others because of suspense, cliffhangers, pace, and detail. These things contribute
to getting us more engaged in the story you can be on the edge of your seat wanting to know
what happens next. The first element of a story that will enhance its ability to get you engaged
as a reader is suspense. Suspense is were the reader, observer, or player gets a feeling of anxiety of

This can be the case for some people, but most books should be normally paced. It is better than
having to reread books, re watch movies, or even replay video games. to understand and be
engaged in the story. Some people will say the same about slowly paced stories. With normally
paced stories, authors can fit enough detail in a smaller space; therefore, it takes less time to
read books and more time to read other books or do other things. In conclusion, a story should
have detail, cliff hangers, detail, and a good pace. Some books can have different paces depending
on the amount of detail needed to engage the reader. The pace shouldn t be too slow or too fast.
Cliffhangers and suspense should be included to further engage the person. All of these things will
contribute to an amazing and engaging story that people will

Factors That Affect Our Soil Quality And Increase Som Is...
From a practical point of view, anionic polyacrylamide (PAM) has been commonly used as a soil
conditioner to reduce erosion by clay flocculation and binding particles and stabilizing the outer
aggregate surfaces. Moreover, PAM is highly resistant to microbial degradation, with a
decomposition rate of в€
ј10% yr 1, which has led to its efficient use as a soilconditioner for long
periods. Wu et al. (2012) revealed that PAM showed a minor effect on 14C allocation in plant
parts and soil in a short term 14C labeling study. Except the observations of PAM
biotransformation, little information is available on the PAM efficiency on the microbial
activity in soils. In contrast, the agronomic benefits of biochar (BC) application to improve soil
quality and increase SOM is growing. Applying BC improves the physicochemical properties of
soil and maintains C and N sources, owing to a pronounced increase in plant growth and yield.
Moreover, wood biochar decreased the soil bulk density and enlarged diameter of aggregates,
thereby reducing soil loss. However, little is known about the effect of BC on soil microbial
populations and activities. BC or PAM showed minor effect on the decomposition of SOM based
on CO2 evolution because of the stability of these conditioners. A high portion of 14C maize
residues were stabilized in the soil after adding BC and PAM as the binders by the occlusion of
labile residue C into aggregates. Understanding the short term dynamics of C caused by PAM or
BC is

America Before Columbus Response
I have never heard of Cahokia before reading this article. What surprised me the most was how
many people lived there. I recall being taught there were only a few Native American tribes in
America before it was settled by Europeans, but the opposite is true.
One misconception that the Europeans had about North America was that the land had never truly
been used. They believed the land had never been used for crops or homesteading, as evidenced by
Alexis de Tocqueville. North America was inhabited only by wandering tribes who had no thought
of profiting by the natural riches of the soil. In fact, it is quite the opposite. Many tribes utilized the
fertile land, employing

Claude Bernard Accomplishments
Honor means high respect or esteem. Honor to me is someone who risks their life for the greater
good and for what is right. Claude Bernard accomplished many things in his life. He was a French
scientist and was the founder of experimental medicine. He studied the pancreas, the liver and the
vasomotor nerves. He was known for laying down the basic roles of experiments for medicine. He
was a very smart French man who was known all over the country at the time. One of his
achievements was working at the laboratory of Francois Magendie at the Colle`ge de France in
1811 where he wrote some of his best work during his lifetime. His first book was called The

It was about the internal environment of any organism. Have it be trees, animals, plants, or
anything living. He also accomplished being one of the first people to explain how the pancreas
works in digestion, and the function of the liver. He also worked on the blood flow of the
vasomotor nerves. The second book that Claude Bernard wrote was in 1865 and it was called
Introduction to the Study of Experimental Medicine and it explained the importance of animal
testing. If Claude Bernard didn t do this, we might not have started animal testing until the 1900s.
Later on in his life, he was able to join the Royal Swedish Academy of Sciences in 1868. That was
his biggest accomplishment because he was French and he was able to join the Swedish in science. I
think that Claude Bernard is honorable because he laid down the foundations of experimental
medicine. He invented animal testing so we could be safe when trying something new. He also
made it possible for us to know how the pancreas works and what the liver does. He told us how the
pancreas helps in digestion so we wouldn t get sick. He told us about the liver and how it works so
we know how to keep it healthy and how to help it if it stops working

SUMMARY OF CH.10
Pricing strategies:
Price: is an amount of money that the consumer is paying for a product or a service.
Costumer value based pricing: to determine the price of product or service we have to consider the
customer expectations of the value not the seller s cost.
Good value pricing means the balance between good quality and service, decent price for both the
customer and the company in order for it to gain profit. It also means, the marketer cannot make a
decision in the marketing program before the product design and the prices are set. Value added
pricing: is the pricing plan which depends on expected values for the consumer. Rather than

  • 2. Joe Linta Reputation On a crisp October evening in Hamden, Connecticut, two high school football teams face off. The crowd roars as the Hamden Hall football team takes the field with the head coach, Joe Linta, slowly jogging behind. Tonight it is all about coaching his team to an undefeated season and getting to the conference championship game. The next day, Linta is in the office talking to NFL executives, negotiating a contract extension for Joe Flacco, and watching film on dozens of Division III football players. Joe Linta is more than a high school football coach and more than a sports agent; he is one a kind. Joe Linta is a sports agent, but more importantly, a talent evaluator and an advocate for players who are overlooked or come from smaller schools.... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Linta sees big things from Schreck with his size, quickness, and hands. He believes he is the type of player that will be in the league for ten years. In an ultra high competitive market of sports agents, Linta is in a class of his own. Instead of competing for the high profile college athletes, he has figured out how to focus on the guys that not many people are talking about and finding the best of them to sign. Joe Linta gives opportunities to the players that deserve it but never thought they had a chance. Usually it is a success for the sports agent when they sign a new player, but for Joe Linta, the player is lucky to have the opportunity to sign with him. It is no guarantee that you will sign with a team, but every team will take a look at you because they know you check the boxes for character and potential. No other agent that Linta knows about is thoroughly evaluating every player or has the level of year after year success. When the 2017 NFL Draft comes around, do not be surprised if you hear Herdman s or Schreck s names called. They might be players who no one has heard of, but Linta s success shows that they are worth taking a chance ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 3. William Pennsylvania Research Paper Many historians think about how Pennsylvania had a big impact on the United States that we call home today.Pennsylvania was one of the first thirteen colonies which also means it was one of the first states to come up with laws. The reason Pennsylvania had such a big effect on the United States history is that our ancestors made fairly good decisions but they also made bad decisions. When William Penn founded Pennsylvania in 1681 on what was known as the Quaker religion. When people look at the history Pennsylvania they see the good things our ancestors chose to do when it came to setting up the thirteen colonies, but what most people overlook is the bad things they chose to do like how they slaughtered thousands of Indians at one time.So with... • 4. Luke 15 Analysis The parable of the Prodigal Son in Luke 15 teaches us about God s desire to forgive us through the gift of Reconciliation. Throughout the parable, the importance of relationship is highlighted and through these relationships we understand God s desire for forgiveness. At each point of the parable, relationships are tested and ultimately strengthened through love, mercy and compassion. He realised his troubles and the situation he was then in were entirely due to his own actions and he came to the understanding that he made many wrong choices and owned up to his deductions made to look like a fool. He saw that he should have never left his father and should certainly never treat him the way he did. People can relate to the prodigal sons situation and come to conclusion about wrongs... When asing and preparing for forgiveness people get mixed feelings for example they may feel guilt and sadness knowing they have hurt themselves for someone else. When asking for forgiveness people should understand that there are things needed to face due to there mistakes and doing so makes the situation better and much easier. A way that the scripture is lived out in the contemporary Catholic community is how the father took his son and celebrated at his return, to show him that he is loved no matter what and in any circumstance he will be accepted into his own home. This is lived in the Catholic community by how anyone is accepted not matter looks, colour, belief, colour etc god and the community will take you in as their own. We have learnt that god will forgive us and help us in our needed times and when we are struggling. As god s children god understands hardship and chooses to forgive us if we surrender ourselves to him and choose not to make the decision ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 5. What Is The Difference Between Romeo And Juliet 1968 Play For never was a story of more woe than this of Juliet and her Romeo. William Shakespeare. Romeo and Juliet is a tragedy written by William Shakespeare early in his career about two young star crossed lovers whose deaths ultimately reconcile their feuding families. It was among Shakespeare s most popular plays during his lifetime and along with Hamlet, is one of his most frequently performed plays. The 1968 film version of Romeo and Juliet is a British Italian romance film based on the tragic play by William Shakespeare. The film was directed and co written by Franco Zeffirelli, and starred Olivia Hussey as Juliet Capulet, and Leonard Whiting as Romeo Montague. The film of 1968 is by far the best and most adapted version of the play, and most popular version as well.... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... This version was the first to use actors who were close to the age of the characters from the original play. Not only were the actors age very accurate, their portrayal of the characters were so believable because the actors playing Romeo and Juliet actually fell in love in the making of the film. All of the actors of the film played their characters very well and made them come to life. Olivia and Leonard told the story of Romeo and Juliet very accurately not only through their lines but with their body language. Viewers can really feel the emotional connection between the two. All the relationships between characters was spot on, my favorite being Lord Capulet and Paris. Although the acting throughout the film was very good, some scenes weren t as good as the others. The worst scenes would have to be the deaths of Mercutio and Tybalt. Those two death scenes were very unbelievable and unrealistic and didn t give viewers the burden of emotion as ... • 6. Law School Scandal Addendum I would like to take this opportunity to respectfully make the Admissions Committee aware of the extenuating circumstances surrounding my academic dismissal from New York Law School. I was granted admission to New York Law School in the fall of 2012. Unfortunately, I was academically dismissed from NYLS for academic deficiency after my first semester. Life events beyond my control adversely affected my overall academic performance. In the months following my law school admission to NYLS, my mother s health condition began to deteriorate rapidly. She experienced a variety of symptoms such as weight loss, anxiety, elevated liver enzymes, jaundice of the skin and eyes, swelling, nausea and vomiting after meals, mild fevers, loss of ... I, once again, was dismissed from law school after my first semester. This time, my mother s health had nothing to do with my dismissal from law school. A different type of life event, a case of infidelity, adversely affected my overall academic performance. As a man who is a true gentleman, I will not provide much context or detail about the nature of the infidelity. I relocated to Florida along with my ex fiancГ©e. Apparently, she became enamored with another man who lived in the same complex building we lived in. I found out of her unfaithfulness days before review session week. One afternoon, I decided not to remain in the law library, as accustomed, and go home early to study; and the worst case scenario, you can imagine, occurred. Words cannot express what I felt when I discovered my ex fiancГ©e with her lover in my apartment. This experience was perhaps one of, if not, the most excruciatingly painful experiences I have ever endured. After this event, which happened days before review session week commenced, I was not able to remain focused enough to continue with my studies; and did not function the way I wanted to. Frankly, I was in an absent minded state, my mind was filled with multiple thoughts, doubts, and questions, I was emotionally distraught and dealt with a variety of emotions ranging from grief, insecurity, and embarrassment to guilt; and instead of focusing on my studies I became more concerned with trying to figure out what had gone wrong in my relationship. As a result, I missed classes, group study meetings, and review sessions prior to finals; and consequently, I underperformed and paid the price, as I was academically dismissed from FAMU College of Law at the end of the semester. • 7. The Spanish Colonization Of Latin America Because the Indians and Spanish lived in different areas in Latin America, the Indian culture and society did not change significantly. Or did there society change? The Spanish colonizers had a huge influence on the indigenous peoples of Mexico and Peru s, culture, language, traditions, religion, even on their native food. One can say that this came into being shortly after Columbus discovered the New World. The Spanish conquistadors, who sailed with Columbus to the New World, were the first to leave their mark on the new territory. We still see some of these traditions in today s society. The Spanish taught the Indians of their oral traditions of legends and jokes, music, food, beliefs, and customs. The Indians even picked up on their native tongue, Spanish, and used it as their own and still do to this day. There are many things in the Mexican culture which have contributed to the shaping and molding of the modern Latino society, such as the Mexican history, culture, language, religion, and traditions. The Indigenous culture is not simply a blend of Mexico used to be, but the results of a unique historical process that developed with an originality all its own. This culture was divided into many different social classes after the Spanish took the reins. Like they started to develop a governmental system for the Indigenous people and they started to tax them with the Bourbon Reforms. Many Indigenous people hated the thought of this so they took matters in to their own ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

By reflecting on what you presented in class, you will learn how to and what to modify in future lessons which will help you become a stronger teacher (Ed TPA). Please answer the following prompts (honestly) with a minimum of 4 sentences for each section. 1. How do you think the lesson went? I personally think that my lesson went pretty well. It seemed like many people were engaged and they participated. There are things that I could have done to make the activity more challenging for the consonant digraphs and consonant blends, but overall I think the activity was fun. I felt like the students payed attention to when I was speaking at the beginning and the end of the activity, which was ideal for any lesson. 2. What were the strengths about the presentation (lesson and/or teaching) and why? The strengths of the lesson in my opinion was the fact that the students could play a game while also participating with consonant blends and consonant digraphs. Even though throwing buttons into a cup is fun and the lesson involved competition, it still made the students think about consonant digraphs and consonant blends. I also think that it helped the students realize how many words are made with consonant blends and consonant digraphs, which will help with their phonemic awareness. ... It was, however, unable to liberalize the market to beat its rival and win and maintain its own niche. • 18. The Effects of Advancements in Lighting on The Theatre... Without light, the theatre cannot exist, that much is certain. As actors, as audience members, as technical visionaries, we are only as powerful as the light we are given. The extent to which we depend upon light in performance has changed dramatically throughout history, however, as light technology developed and expanded. In the history of performance, the artistic community is constantly victim to the limits of lightingtechnology, and exponentially altered by breakthroughs. From the utilization of candles and natural lightto isolated light and electricity, the histories of illumination and theatreare virtually inseparable, and continue to push the boundaries of live performance. Having only heightened text and elaborate spectacles to guide them, much of the subtlety, specificity, and emotion must have been lost in translation.Additionally, indoor performances, primarily requested by courts and nobility, specifically used candles and torches as sources of illumination. Candles were placed at the front of the stage, between the wings leading to the stage, and above both the stage in order to frame the players. Chandeliers were also hung above those in attendance, to create a sense of audience. This marks both the first appearances of footlights in the theatre and, though basic, the beginning of a formulaic structure for lighting a performance space. Issues prevailed, however there were still no successful methods for specific lighting, unless an actor held the light themselves to illuminate their face, nor were colored lights or gobo devices available. Though lighting was making its way into the theatrical world, it was purely technical, not called upon to be inventive, create illusions or accomplish tasks at this point in time. Limited design innovations were mostly rooted in the scarce advancements made with regard to lighting technology. Where this began to change and evolve was in the early 1800s, when the gaslight was introduced into the performing arts sphere. The new technology was brought into the theatre industry by William Murdoch and later F.A. Winsor, who used the lights to replace candles in framing the stage ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Brazil s current population of 190 million represents various nationalities from European to African (Country Facts). Brazil has an extremely diverse culture with some common pervasive threads that grouped together give Brazil a national identity. The concept of aesthetics describes what people of certain cultures tend to consider to be popular or in good taste (Wild Wild, 2014). To this extent, despite being mostly unified by a single language, Brazil represents such a diverse culture that regional aesthetic variances could almost seem like they were different countries altogether (Castano, Goossens, Terlouw, and Vliet, n.d.). According to Encyclopedia Britannica, of all the cultures that make up the Brazilian way of life, the Portuguese culture is the dominant influence and provides the main language, religion, and many customs. Indigenous Indians and African influences are also apparent in some forms, especially in certain parts of the country. If one were to ask a Brazilian what symbols they feel would represent the culture of Brazil, Everyculture.com states that most in the country would view soccer, family, and the four day national party called Carnival as the symbols of Brazil s passion and free spirit. Values are those ideas and beliefs to which people are emotionally attached (Wild Wild, 2014), and to that end Brazilians have a very strong focus on family. • 29. Representation Of Victorian Society In Joan Lindsay s... Joan Lindsay, the renowned author of the seminal Australian novel Picnic at Hanging Rock, has foreground the representation of Victorian society as repressed and constrained through the characterisation of various figures throughout the novel. The riveting tale ensues the inexplicable disappearance of three girls and a governess, with only one girl to ever be seen again, during Appleyard College s annual picnic to the supernatural Hanging Rock on Valentine s Day in 1900. One of the central themes in the narrative is the depiction of the Victorian Society as uptight and controlled, which has been established by several characters, including Miss McCraw, Mrs Appleyard and Mademoiselle. Miss McCraw, the eccentric mathematics tutor, is one of the least likely to vanish. Nevertheless, this is precisely what occurs and through this aberrant disappearance a notion is presented that excessive suppression results in radical methods of release. Moreover, the portrayal of Mrs Appleyard develops the readers perception of Victorian society and displays how rigid social constraints will eventually breakdown. In contrast, Mademoiselle, the passionate arts governess, juxtaposes the previously mentioned characters by being caring and affectionate towards the girls. The characterisation of these individuals throughout Picnic at Hanging Rock contributes to the overall portrayal of Victorian society as uptight and stifled and progresses the reader s understanding of this representation. For the most part, something that we can all agree on, is that we can see the racial differences in sports especially when it comes to basketball. When trying to find individuals who are good at playing basketball, most likely the team will consist of a majority of individuals who comes from an African descent. The question however is, why is this the case? I believe that there are two theories to explain this concept. The first theory that I feel like might be the answer is because, it is something that they have grown up and have done throughout several generations. When children see certain activities that are constantly repeated throughout their family, or those who look similar to them race wise, they feel like it is something that they have to do as well. If we view this situation in the eyes of a child who is African American, when he or she sees that there is a famous man from an African descent who is the best player within the entire basketball team, the child now believes that those who are black are better at playing basketball, which encourages the child to follow the footsteps of those who belongs in their race. Plans for evacuation started as early as 15 years before in 1924; the Air Raid Precaution Committee (ARPC) identified London as the main target, with children as the biggest concern. The British Of The Colonial Expansion And Governance Leveraging its advantages in technology and belief in its moral superiority the British were able to build and manage this vast empire through networks of trade, political governance and force (Mann and Roberts, 1991; Lawrence, 1996). The establishment and perpetuation of British legal institutions was an integral part of the colonial expansion and governance. POGG, therefore, was undoubtedly a creature designed by the British to exercise direct and indirect imperial control over its overseas territories (Yusuf, 2014). The success of this approach to expanding and maintaining an empire is evidenced by the fact that by it was the largest empire in world history. It eventually included large geographic area of Africa, Asia, North America and the Caribbean with its reach in global trade including close links with South America and other areas (Lawrence 1996). The British colonial institutional development reflected a policy which by 1839 focused primarily on constitutional rule and relations with the far flung territories. Fiction writers and movie producers have led people on to believe, that missionaries are self serving and as having specific intentions. One of the prime examples of misrepresenting a missionary; is the book called The Poisonwood Bible. I had to read The Poisonwood Bible in an English class. The Poisonwood Bible is the story of a missionary named Nathan Price and his family. Nathan was Reverend and he was mean to his wife and children. Nathan and his family lived in the Congo. He was disrespectful to his wife and his children were terrified of him. I remember reading the book thinking, how does he represent God? Missionaries are sent out to cross cultural barriers and spread the gospel. Missionaries are not sent too foreign countries to destroy or to break the people down. Missionaries have faced scrutiny, because of the negative of missionaries in movies and in books. There some positive movies made about missionaries. Jesus was the perfect missionary. Jesus went to different places and taught the word of God. Jesus drew people unto him. Jesus told his disciples, that if they follow him, he would make them fishermen of men. Jesus taught anywhere. • 48. Lord Of The West Wind, By Percy Shelley Nature is a source of inspiration for each poet from which they determine imagery, emphasizing its symbolic meaning and part as a powerful force in human life. Percy Shelley s Ode to the West Wind and John Keats To Autumn are fixated on nature. Shelley addresses nature in majority of his poems climatically, according to his spontaneous and momentary response, while Keats turns to contemplation due to his personal suffering. Both poets are impacted by the seasonal process in nature which ushers them into the temperament of transition and aging. However, both of them differently perceive the same natural manifestations. In Percy Shelley s Ode to the West Wind considers the subject of cyclic regeneration through the depiction of nature. Shelley watches the destructive changes in nature created by the autumnal wind with a desire for the following spring and revival. In the seasonal process he sees a typical model for conceivable revolutionary changes both in his own life and in the current social and political structure of his nation. The usage of nature demonstrates Shelley s gratefulness towards beauty and the natural world. His Ode to the West Wind fundamentally engages the dynamic brilliant power of the west wind to issue him that vitality which has the capacity to change the world. He describes how powerful the wind is and communicates his poem in a shrewd method that paints readers a picture of how great and amazing the wind can be. Through the utilization of ... There was a concern about declining moral and ethical values, which led to restrictions such as prohibition for example. The concern about these issues seemed most intense when they pertained to religion. In situations like these it always seems necessary to place the blame somewhere. The fear that surrounded this time period was a perfect way to spread the propaganda of the Klan. It was believed that this group of immigrants held their primary allegiance to a foreign sovereign over loyalty to the United States. This anti Catholicism was a driving force behind the popularity of the KKK. To show the mentality of the time, there was no tax on Klan fees because they were considered to be a benevolent society by the government. The fact that the KKK adamantly discriminated against the Irish Catholics may seem surprising because the majority of today s population would assume that the Klan s members encompassed any person who appeared to be Caucasian. This group of immigrants was also discriminated in the workplace. Employers made the wages for this group lower than wages of other employees. The intention for this ill treatment was that the immigrants would warn their Irish relatives of the bad conditions here in the U.S. discouraging them from immigrating as well as to encourage the Irish Catholic immigrant employees who resided in the U.S. to leave. From a practical point of view, anionic polyacrylamide (PAM) has been commonly used as a soil conditioner to reduce erosion by clay flocculation and binding particles and stabilizing the outer aggregate surfaces. Moreover, PAM is highly resistant to microbial degradation, with a decomposition rate of в€ ј10% yr 1, which has led to its efficient use as a soilconditioner for long periods. Wu et al. (2012) revealed that PAM showed a minor effect on 14C allocation in plant parts and soil in a short term 14C labeling study. Except the observations of PAM biotransformation, little information is available on the PAM efficiency on the microbial activity in soils. In contrast, the agronomic benefits of biochar (BC) application to improve soil quality and increase SOM is growing. Applying BC improves the physicochemical properties of soil and maintains C and N sources, owing to a pronounced increase in plant growth and yield. Moreover, wood biochar decreased the soil bulk density and enlarged diameter of aggregates, thereby reducing soil loss. However, little is known about the effect of BC on soil microbial populations and activities. BC or PAM showed minor effect on the decomposition of SOM based on CO2 evolution because of the stability of these conditioners. A high portion of 14C maize residues were stabilized in the soil after adding BC and PAM as the binders by the occlusion of labile residue C into aggregates.
