In the past, aboriginal suicide has been addressed the same way as non aboriginal populations in
both national and provincial suicide prevention approaches (Health Canada, 2013; Hunter Harvey,
2002; MacNeil, 2008). However, these approaches are not feasible to generalize throughout the
aboriginal population since this population has an increased amount of historical trauma and
ongoing issues that these strategies do not consider (Elliott Farrelly, 2004). Many situations have
occurred that makes it evident that these two populations need separate suicide prevention strategies
and at large, the Aboriginal population needs to be addressed immediately. This paper will
address the background issues of the increased rate of suicide within aboriginal communities. It
will then discuss a policy statement that is feasible for the prevention of suicide within the
aboriginal youth population. The policy to be discussed is an in school program to educate
individuals on Aboriginal suicide and prevention. This school based approach uses an inclusive
liberalism ideology to inform students about the risks and warning signs of suicide. In addition, the
results of the class consultation will be addressed to discuss the strengths and limitations of this
approach. Therefore, this paper addresses a feasible policy that will prevent suicide within
aboriginal youth.

Norris demonstrates how in the end, one s own success is determined by that of their parents as
he supplies McTeague with several opportunities throughout the novel to change his fortune, but
it is his parents fault that he is not able to succeed. McTeagues father is described as steady, hard
working while at work, yet when at home he is a brute, crazy with alcohol (Norris 2). This
alcoholism dug his father deep into a hole and he eventually died from it, never amounting to
anything more than a shift boss at the mine. McTeague follows this path of his father when he
too becomes a drunken brute and his stupidity, the sluggishness of his brain, seemed to be

discussed 1960 Hitchcock film Psycho.
Censorship laws at the time of release were so strict, Hitchcock had to disturb in other ways without
actually revealing too much visually, one main technique was through the use of sound. A
particular positive outcome from harsh censorship laws, was the inventive and resourceful approach
that writers and directors used to get around them that ultimately lead to the end result being more
interesting to watch and much more memorable. If Herrmann s terror inducing score had not been
present, this scene would be much less powerful. Due to the fast paced cuts, if there was no music,
the sound differences would be much more noticeable cutting from shot to shot. Viewing the scene
without the music, shows how the violins help to cover up unimpressive sound editing.
In this case, music has a vital role of helping the film promote tension throughout. Usually, isolated
instruments are used to build up to a key event to increase tension and subconsciously link the idea
of vulnerability to the viewers. However in Psycho, composer Bernard Herrmann uses just the
