Research Paper On Exotic Animals
Have you ever wonder how dangerous an exotic pet can be? Exotic pets have been said to be
very dangerous to human kind and can spread many diseases. Exotic pets should be banned from
society because they are unpredictable and they are expensive. To begin with, exotic animals
should be banned from society because they are unpredictable. People tend to not want exotic
animals due to their natural and wild instincts. One may never be able to predict a wild animal s
next move because a wild animal is never one hundred percent predictable (Lewis 41 42). This
implies that these dangerous petscan make any wrong move at any time because these animal have
not been domesticated. Also, one may keep them in a cage due to exotic animals can injure... Show

Many death from exotic animals are rare because in reality one may contract E.Coli virus from
eating spinach than die from being attacked by an exotic animal (Rexano 1). This shows that one
is more likely to get an infection from food than to get attacked by a wild animal because there
are lower rates of death from exotic animals than from food. Also, owning an exotic animal may
rise one s popularity because no one will deny that owning an exotic pet is daring and different
(Lewis 22 23). This implies that owning an exotic pet can make a person stand out from society
which mean their reputation in society would rise . However, there are still people dying from
owning exotic animals and even though it makes a person unique, they are still dangerous. These
animals are not used to the environment that humans live in and they have their own habitat that
are designed for them. In a nutshell, exotic animals are a poison to society due to the expense we
have to waste on them and their changeable habits. Keep in mind that the next time one might buy
an exotic pet, they must be cautious of how these pets may affect a person s

Superior Manufactoring
Superior Anufacturing
Question 1 Answer
Based off of the 2004 statement of profit and loss data, I do agree with Water s decision in
keeping product 103. The total sunk costs for the company could be more substantial in a shorter
time than having years of low profits from the sales of product 103. Overall the company would
lose $4,933,000 by eliminating product 103. Recovering the indirect costs of dropping the product
line would also be unclear as well. An incremental analysis would be the best approach in
determining whether keeping product 103 is beneficial or not.

The cost system in place at Superior Manufacturing did not allow them to see enough of the
indirect costs associated with each product. The inability to determine actual costs incurred by each
product line inhibits Superior Manufacturing from reporting accurate information. A main example
of this is displayed with the indirect expenses associated with each product building. The reports
that the management used in the cost system referenced their standard costs, which were based on
the previous year prices. If any of the direct costs were actually lower than the standards listed it
resulted in higher revenues. A few suggestions that I would recommend to Waters regarding the
cost accounting system and reports would to also look at more of the actual sales and expenses in
reports. The cost system that is being utilized focuses mainly on past results.
In addition to the reporting suggestions, I would also suggest to Superior Manufacturing to look at
the amount of resources used indirectly. If the company can reduce the amount of wasted
warehouse space and continue to produce all three products, then they would be able to reduce
more indirect expenses and increase their profitability. Another area of concern would be that they
are basing their prices to coincide with Samra. There are also many other competitors making
similar products as Superior Manufacturing. The

A Interview On A Pathological Liar Essay
On November 16, 1967 Kristen Heather Strickland was born in Massachusetts. Her mother was
a substitute teacher and her father was an electronics engineer. Growing up in Fall River, where
Lizzie Borden who is believed to have killed her parents was born, Kristen would often tell
people that she and Lizzie were related. She seemed to find great excitement with the possibility
(Phelps, 2014). She grew into an attractive teenage girl who seemed to be sophisticated and the
envy of others. The first issue was noted when she was older by her schoolmates. Kristen was
turning into a pathological liar. One of her friends stated she showed up to school wearing a shirt
that another friend had reported missing. She adamantly denied that it was the same shirt
(Montaldo, 2015). A pathological liar is defined as someone who tells small lies without a reason
on an ongoing basis that usually occurs for years, and even a lifetime (Dike, 2008). We all have
our own developmental pathway, starting early in life, which is made up of risk factors and
experiences that makes us who we are. Risk factors which can lead to criminal behavior include
alcohol or drug abuse, poverty, failing school, physical and emotional abuse, parental styles, peer
rejection, inadequate preschool experiences, siblings, parental psychopathology, inadequate after
school care, association with antisocial peers, minimal parental monitoring, lack of attachment, and
lack of empathy (Bartol Bartol, 2014).

Leadership Styles Of The Workplace
Work environments, at some point, are hectic, stressful, constantly changing and multifaceted.
Leadership is the ability to influence others in order to attain goals (Lamberton Minor, 2014).
Leaders in the workplace must take responsibility to ensure they do the right things. Leaders
typically possess characteristics such as enthusiasm, dominance, emotional stability, self assurance,
and conscientiousness. They have a strong sense of ethics and work hard in order to build integrity
in their workplace (U.S. Small Business Administration [SBA], n.d.). Although leaders have some
of the same characteristics in common, they interact differently with others. It helps to know that
leaders use different methods of interacting with those they lead. These styles include autocratic,
consultative, participative, and free reign. The purpose of this paper is to compare and contrast
these leadershipstyles, discuss which style most resembles my leadership style, and how this style
relates to my profession as a nurse.
Leadership Styles
The first leadership style is autocratic. Autocratic leaders are the ones in charge. This leadership
style is one of power and authority. Group situations or settings do not work well, as the
autocratic leader feels other opinions do not matter. Others in the workplace do not have a say in
what happens and have little or no freedom to agree or disagree (Lamberton Minor, 2014).
Autocratic leaders tend to make decisions in a way that dictators do, by

Do not give OTC cough medications. The FDA does not recommend giving cough medications

A Christmas Memory Short Story
Let us be grateful to people who make us happy, they are the charming gardeners who make our
souls blossom, Marcel Proust said. This quote suggests how being grateful for the people that
you feel close to, will make you feel happier. A Christmas Memory by Truman Capote takes
place during the Great Depression in a small Southern town. A seven year old boy named Buddy,
and his friend are hit by the Great Depression. They do not have very many possessions, only
basic necessities. The holidays are right around the corner so Buddy and his friend decide to make
fruit cakes for all of their friends, even though they do not have much. They end up not having
much money to get each other something for Christmas. In the end, they both decide that having
each other is enough, and that they re both very grateful for one other. One lesson that is taught in
the story, is that often, people tend to only be grateful for materialistic things. However, in this
story they re grateful for one another. Similarly, in the short storyThe Gift of the Magi by O. Henry
expresses the same theme of gratefulness through the development of the character traits and
character conflicts. Both stories show that being grateful for the people that you feel close to, will
make you feel happier.
From the very beginning in both stories by Capote and Henry, gratefulness has been shown
through description of both characters, Buddy and Della. Buddy is grateful that him and his
distant cousin have become best friends. We are cousins, very distant ones, and we have lived
together well, as long as I can remember. Other people inhabit the house, relatives; and though
they have power over us, and frequently make us cry, we are not, on the whole, too much aware
of them. We are each other s best friend. She calls me Buddy, in memory of a boy who was
formerly her best friend (Capote). This line illustrates that Buddy s distant cousin has taken care of
him for as long as he can remember. Buddy is grateful that it has brought them close, they re each
other s best friends. Another example of gratefulness is shown through Dellas thoughts and
feelings. She is grateful for Jim, because she wanted to get him a nice Christmas present. As soon
as she saw it, she knew

then stored at 80C until use. The Munich strain of B. microti was maintained in BALB/c mice
by serial passaging. Infections were initiated by intraperitoneal (i.p.) injection of 1 107 iRBCs.
Eightweek old female BALB/c mice were purchased from CLEA Japan (Tokyo, Japan). All mice

Mighty Oak Trees Research Paper
Among other names, like their latin names and the regular name( Oaks), mighty oaks are a haven
for many organisms. Those organisms include: squirrels, raccoons, spiders, black bears, mountain
lions, and bobcats. I m going to talk about the relationships between these animals and the things
that happen during the mighty oaks life span.
Red squirrels are an important part of the ecosystem in which the oak lives. They are important
because they eat off the oak trees. That is important because the soil is fertilized from the squirrel
poop, which helps the trees. The trees are also not harmed because the acorns that they eat are the
fruit of the tree. The trees also gave them a place to live. They raise their babies in the tree, and

Thomas Rid’s Arguement on the Impossibility of Cyber War...
In the article, Thomas Rid s main argument other than the contention that cyber war will not happen
is that cyber war is completely misplaced if not entirely misunderstood. He argues that the concept
of cyber war is not in tandem with the historical definition and understanding of what constitutes
war. Rid s definition of war, borrowed from Carl von Clausewitz, is that war must constitute three
elements: violence, instrumental and political. (Rid, Cyber War Will Not Take Place, 2012)
Therefore, his main argument against the possibility for cyber war is premised on the idea that
cyber war can never have or express the above three elements. He further argues that at best, cyber
war can achieve some of the above criteria such as violence... Show more content on

He then argues that the actions of Anonymous and other such groups cannot be defined as war
because neither is violence involved nor does any of them openly accepts political attribution;
and their instrumentality is only limited to undermining authority. Secondly, He characterizes
cyber attacks as espionage because often times the main goal is to access secured or confidential
information. Lastly, he considers cyber attacks to be sabotage because the intended aim of the
attack is to disrupt or destroy military or economic installations. (Rid, Cyber War Will Not Take
Place, 2012) Ultimately, for Rid, what has ostensibly been considered to be cyber war are
basically manifestation of age old activities of espionage, sabotage and subversion.
Rid concludes with three points. First, he concludes that low tech cyber activities will have
greater impact on global political stability and in certain scenarios can even lead to conventional
war. He argues that the power of the internet to power social courses presents the greatest threat to
global stability even more than high tech capabilities used in sabotage; this is because mobilizing
and sustaining a movement via is now easier and requires less leadership hence social agitations
are stronger persists for longer. Secondly, he argues that sabotage as form of cyber attack will
continue to rise;

San Francisco Modern Art Museum
On October 25, the class went to San Francisco to visit the San Francisco Modern Art Museum.
In the museum, there were many interesting and fascinating art pieces. The SFMoma is a large
and spacious museum. The exhibits are large and in each exhibit there is at least one famous art
piece. My favorite floor would have been floors 5, 6,and 7 because of all the famous artworks
such as Andy Warhol s Triple Elvis and Nine Marilyns in them. The overall appearance of the
museum was contemporary.
One piece of art that I enjoyed in the SFMoma was the Policeman by Duane Hanson. This art piece
was made through 1992 1994. I enjoyed this art piece because this sculpture is very realistic. The
viewer could see the veins in the arms and face. You were able to see the the individual hairs on
the policeman s arms, neck, and face. On the face, there are patches of red on his cheeks. His
mustache had the overgrown look, so there was hair on his lip. His eyes look directly to the
viewer. He doesn t have much emotion on his face He has a dispassionate and stern look. The
fabric he is wearing had a cotton like texture making it believable. Duane Hanson is known for
making sculptures like this one. His style is usually related to pop art or modern ... Show more

has overall happy mood, there aren t any dark colors showing otherwise. Figures with Sunset is a

Sex Selective Abortion Analysis
Based on my analysis of sex selective abortions along with weighing social workers ethical
responsibilities, I am a proponent of a ban on sex selective abortions. Social workers are
commited to promoting ethical practices, and aborting a healthy fetus based on its gender is
unethical and to promote such a practice would not encompass the value of integrity that social
workers uphold. I do feel that the idea of a medical professional probing into a patient s personal
life and medical records to decide whether the reason for that patients abortionis admissable is an
invasion of privacy that could end up being degrading and needs to be rethought and reformed. If
we fail to address sex selective abortion then we fail to protect equality. Social

Failure Of The Stalemate On The Western Front
The main theatre of fighting in World War One was on the Western Front. The Western Front was
a stretch of land weaving through France and Belgium from the Swiss Boarder to the North Sea.
The belligerents on the Western front consisted of the central powers, Austria Hungary and
Germany pitted against the Entente Powers. This involved the British empire, the Russian
empire and the French with the addition of the United States from 1917 onwards. The creation
of the stalemate on the Western Front is linked to a variety of reasons. These include the failure
of the Schlieffen plan, The Battle of the Marne, Plan 17 and the Race to the Sea and the
defensiveness of weapons. Failure of the Schlieffen Plan To a large extent the failure of the
Schlieffen plan was the most significant reason for the creation of the western front. The
Schleiffen Plan was a defensive military strategy to deal with the French and Russian forces ,
staunch allies, in order to avoid a war on two fronts. Which was not what Germany wanted. This
plan created by Von Schleiffen Outlined that troops being sent through Belgium and the
Netherlands whilst simultaneously having the bulk of troops travel down to defend the Alsace
Lorraine region which Germany had gained in the Franco Prussian war (1970). The troops at
Belgium would attack as a hammer swing effect for they would travel south and around Paris
capturing the city whilst the French forces were distracted. However, on the contrary

The Perspective That Influenced My Life
Everyone s perspectives have been influenced by their experiences. Every so often a grand
occurrence influences one s life in an impactful way, while other times it is the little instances
that influence your life the most. I know that I have definitely been influenced by innumerable
occurrences, but one perspective stands out more than others. My perspective is unlike the
majority of others. This is from the perspective of a girl who has four loving parents. Some kids
may find it difficult to deal with four parents, but for me it is comforting. Having multiple
parents, I receive more support with everything I undertake. For example, it is not just my mother
and father supporting my decision to attend Lenape for Culinary but also my step mother and
step father. So, as you can tell I acquire an abundance amount of support. Although people may be
under the impression that it would be more difficult to receive permission when wanting to do
something, in my instance, it is actually better to get more perspectives. Growing up, my father
told me no to a large amount of activities that I wanted to do. Now I m allowed to do more after
school activities, as well as spend more timewith friends. I live with my father and step mother. My
step mother is my biggest inspiration. She is the person that I look up to. If I traveled between...

The Tragedy Of The Scottsboro Boys
The Scottsboro boys consisted of nine young men, from the ages of twelve to twenty, living in
Scottsboro, Alabama during the 1930s. The racial injustice in South Alabama was at an all time
high during this decade. While the public derived various opinions on the boy s innocence or
guilt, the Scottsboro Boys Trials presented a blatantly obvious verdict. On March 31st, 1935, a
diverse group of desperate people, whites and blacks, were riding on a freight train in search of
jobs or work. The incident escalated quickly from there with a fight breaking out and ending with
white men being kicked off of the train. As the train approached its next stop, the workers of the
station gathered the nine African Americanmen and were arrested for assault. The boys were
Charlie Weems, Clarence Norris, Haywood Patterson, Andy Wright, Willie Roberson, Olin
Montgomery, Ozie Powell, Eugene Williams, and Roy Wright. Before being charged with assault,
two women, Ruby Bates and Victoria Price who were on the train on March 31st, accused the nine
men of raping them. That is where the Scottsboro BoysTrials, an American tragedy, begins. In April
of 1931, the nine men were put on trial in the span of four days. Unfortunately, the men received a
drunk, inexperienced attorney who was uneducated about the laws of Alabama. In addition, the jury
was made up of all white jurors, along with evidence that did not match the women s accusations.

The Poet: Emerson Response
By the end of Emersons The Poet , not only has he inspired a new generation of poets he s also
emphasized the important role poetry plays in society and changed all the rules society had
regarding poetry. For poetry was all written before time was, and whenever we are so finely
organized that we can penetrate into that region where the air is music, ... (Emerson pg. 3)
In this excerpt from The Poet, Emerson is attempting to make a profound statement on the
impact poetry plays in every living human being on Earth. He is viewing a poet as the creator of
the universe. In doing this he is saying that poetry is something that already exists all around us,
it s the job of the poet to capture that and present it through their words. Emerson labels the poet
as the man of Beauty, which he believes has a superior calling. The poet is different from the
intellectual as he doesn t see any relation between the material world, and the world of thoughts
and ideas. Emerson establishes his belief that there is a relationship between the ideal , which is
something that we aspire to be, and the real which is one of the central issues in the discussion.
Emerson backs up all his points with very heady, and mystical beliefs which adds to the grandiose
nature of The Poet. Emerson believes that too many of us have distanced ourselves

Civil War Feed Quotes
Book Notes #1 1.)Computers were all outside the body. They carried them around outside of
them, in their hands, like if you carried your lungs in a briefcase and opened it to breathe. (10.2)
Analysis: This quote was when Titus saw a few old computers which he thought were weird. This
was meant to show that he was used to not see computers and them being inside his head. Also, it
shows that he thinks it would be hard to live without the feed in his head show. 2.)That s one of the
great things about the feed which you can be super smart without ever working. Everyone is super
smart now. You can look things up automatic, like science and history, like if you want to know

everything that they know which could be a possible problem because that grants them so much
power over the people. 4.)We watched the sea move around. It was dead, but colorful. (34.1 2)
Analysis: Titus saying this about the sea shows that environment that they live in is polluted and
not much wildlife is living anymore. This shows that the earth s ecosystem has degraded over the

The Celebration Of Carnival In Twelfth Night And Paradise...
Carnival in history is a grand celebration that most normal people today in Louisiana would have
called Mardi Gras. The grand festival of Carnival is famously known for critiquing numerous
social, gender, political, and religious norms during the Renaissance. William Shakespeare s play
about cross dressing Twelfth Nightand John Miltons religious fictional Paradise Lostutilize the
festivities and the enjoyment of traditional festivities carnival ideas like Viola s and Satan s
disguises; role reversals of Olivia, Satan, and Eve; excess food eaten by Sir Toby and Eve; madness
in terms of Twelfth Night s craziness and Satan s wrath; and violence in terms of physical and
psychological.
Twelfth Night s name itself is a clear reference to the famous Christian celebration of the
Epiphany, which closely represents the twelfth night of Christmas and the beginning of the
celebration of Carnival which often has partaken in wearing disguises and societal role
reversals. The religious celebration of the Epiphany is also the point in historical religious
history where the three wise men or magi respectfully brought the three gifts of gold,
frankincense, and myrrh to the recently born Jesus Christ of Nazareth. In terms of disguise, Viola
skillfully and dutifully disguises herself as Cesario in order to safely find her long lost brother
Sebastian who she sadly and quickly presumes is dead. Since Twelfth Night is a play, the actors put

Analysis Of The Kansas City Preventive Patrol Experiment
The Kansas City Preventative Patrol Experiment was conducted in October 1972 by the Kansas
City Police to test the effects of marked police patrol units on the incidence of crime to deter
crime and ended in 1973. The experiment lasted over a year and was evaluated by the Police
Foundation, established by the Ford Foundation, which also provided funding and technical
assistance for the education of police. The Kansas City Preventative Patrol Experiment in policing
ranked among the few major social experiments ever to be completed and still used today in
American policing. (Kelling, G. L., Pate, T., Dieckman, D., Brown, C. E., 1974) The design of the
Kanas City Preventative Patrol Experiment was to test the assumption that marked police units
patrolling the streets can prevent individuals from committing crimes. Areas of the city were
assigned either no routine patrols the proper level of patrols and substantially increased patrols. The
concept of preventive patrol postulated the self evident truth that the mere presence of the police or
reasonable potential for their presence would deter criminals from committing offenses in the
immediate geographic area of the patrol (Deployment by analysis, 2000).
The beginning of the experiment assigned officers to patrol areas called beats. Each officer
patrols his or her beat until assigned a call by the police dispatcher (Cornder, 2016, p. 386). The
patrol experiment varied 15 beats, but the routine preventative patrol was

Extreme Right Movement
Introduction
After several failed attempts to establish a Post War organization for the extreme far right wing
citizens of Germany, the first successful extreme right movement drew from the foundation of the
National Democratic Party of Germany, known as the NPD, in 1964. In the late 1960 s, it was
expanded by victories in seven of the ten state parliaments and was widely expected to make it into
the Bundestag. At its highest point, the party could boast a count of some 28,000 members. This
may not seem like a huge portion of the German population, but it does account for almost Вѕ of the
organized German right wing extremists. The NPD has failed to overcome the hurdle of a

In fact, the party has long been anti constitutional, in addition to being anti establishment. The
German state certainly has legal means at its disposal to impose a ban upon the party, should it
deem that the National Democratic Party has become a threat to national security. This has even
been tried in the past, but the п¬Ѓrst attempt to do so, in 2001 2003, did not succeed. Attempts of
banning the group will focus less on NPD behaviors of xenophobic and anti Semitic rhetoric, and
place more focus on their anti constitutional tendencies. In 2012, an effort to eliminate the NPD
was introduced into the courts, but a decision had not been made at the time. Chancellor Merkel
has yet to place a ban, and states that her administration will not be seeking to disband the party.
Merkel went further by stating that she did not consider a renewed ban application necessary, even
considering their militant aggressive attitude towards the existing order. Success of ban would
make NPD the third party blacklisted in view of being unconstitutional in post war Germany. The
failure to dislodge the NPD from the political sphere has discouraged any further efforts since. The
primary reason for the failure of the attempted ban was simply strategic: The German security
service had managed to covertly penetrate the NPD, and there were fears that if the party went

Entrepreneurship Is The Search Of Chances Involving Major...
Entrepreneurship is the readiness to take risks and improve, establish and be able to a business
project in a modest world wide market that is continuously developing. Entrepreneurs are
innovators, leaders and creators. They are at the front of technical and communal actions in their
fields, in their advancing philosophy, in their wish to drive the cover. (Davidrubin, 2013).
Public and Private Mix
Private funding of care can create world wide power to care more comprehensive and wide ranging.
The probable combination at the point of facility provision confidentially attained privilege with the
public right, can impact, however, upon the objectives (e.g. enhanced well being, justice, price
control, care making proficiency, and customer satisfaction from service) of the publicly sustained
health system. A joint system may be certain, however, for both financial and politically aware
reasons, particularly where health assets are relatively rare. (Chernichovsky, 2000).
Relationship of entrepreneurship to change management
Entrepreneurship is the search of chances involving major threat, awareness to total changes, and
the progress of revolutions. Earlier studies have observed the matter of entrepreneurship in health
care organizations. The front runners need to be more entrepreneurial because of the difficulties in
the health care setting. Returning to changes in a practical manner wants a diverse kind of

Cuban Immigrants And The Cuban Adjustment Act Essay
INTRODUCTION:
Even though Cuba is a little under 100 miles away from the United States, the relationship between
the two countries has created an atmosphere full of tension and perpetual mistrust. When Fidel
Castro decided to align Cuba with the U.S.S.R. and become a communist country, the United States
of America was stunned and highly insulted. Because of their relationship, both countries have
played a back and forth game of trying to outdo the other. This game and state of affairs in Cubahas
created a large influx of Cuban immigrants looking for better opportunities and trying to escape
poverty and persecution. This paper will be focusing on Cuban immigrants and examining different
Cuban immigration laws, which allowed them to easily become United States citizens, including;
the Cuban Adjustment Act, The Immigration and Nationality Act Amendments of 1976 and the
Wet Foot, Dry Foot Policy. It will also discuss whether the Cuban immigration laws are unfair to
other foreign immigrants and whether the laws are relevant today. Finally, we will be considering
the future and try to predict how the laws will change with the changing diplomatic relations
between Cuba and the United States and the imminent removal of the Embargo Act.

Speed limit signs are on nearly every street throughout the United States. Some range from thirty
miles per hour to seventy based on the location. Being a new driver, this may appear like a
difficult responsibility to follow the speed limit. Along the side of the road, the signs stand tall
with black and white color ways with a very bold font. Simply adjust the speed of the vehicle
based on the speed limit in the designated location. Sometimes, due to hazards and weather,
vehicles may be required to continue at a lower speed than posted. Vehicle operators must follow
specific laws within individual states for speed if there isn t a designated speed limit sign posted.
Following the speed limit is a must, and as a new driver this should be deemed as a very important
task while driving.
In conclusion, driving a vehicle is a tremendous responsibility and can cause serious harm if
used improperly. Hazards on and off the road develops through all times of the day, and drivers
should always be ready to face danger. Drivers must rely on each other to follow the rules and
regulations of the road to have a safe trip to their destination. As a new driver, always follow every

Freud vs. Jung
One repays a teacher badly if one remains only a pupil. And why, then, should you not pluck at
my laurels? You respect me; but how if one day your respect should tumble? Take care that a
falling statue does not strike you dead! You had not yet sought yourselves when you found me.
Thus do all believers Now I bid you lose me and find yourselves; and only when you have all

(Nietzsche Quoted by Jung to Freud, 1912), [McGuire, 1974]

Through Jung s studies on word association, Freud was able to further link to experimental
psychology. He was then able to express his ideas about the psychodynamics of culture and
religion (Gay, 1988; Jones, 1955; Kerr, 1993). The relationship was not without benefits for Jung.
Jung was able to broaden his thoughts on the etiology and treatment of neurosis and psychosis.
This gave Jung a political card to play in the international psychoanalytical movement. Upon
meeting Freud, Jung was already a promising psychiatrist with a gift for psychological research.
He was a prestigious junior appointment at one of the top centers in Europe that treated psychotic
disorders before meeting Freud. (Kerr, 1993). In 1913, Jung had broken away from Freud and was
by then internationally known for original contributions to clinical psychology and for his
leadership of the psychoanalytic movement. In 1912, Jung authored a book called Transformations
and Symbols of Libido (Jung 1912). This marked his independence from the movement.
The reasons for the break up between Freud and Jung is many, but their contradicting views in their
science were likely the crumbling of their foundation. (Billinsky, J.M. (1969) Jung and Freud: The
End of a Romance)

One goal is to expose children to reading, and the other goal is to help the children visualize what
is trying to be expressed in the book through the illustrations or pictures. Analogously, The
Curious Incident of the Dog in Night Time uses picture to help the reader visualize important
aspects of the book. For many adults, they think that pictures in a book are silly, but in this case
it adds to the disorder of this novel. Christopher explains, ... Mrs. Peters cuts round the picture
with a Stanley knife and then you put ink on the lino and press it onto the paper, which is why
all the cars looked the same, because I did one car and pressed it onto the paper 9 times (Haddon

Probably not, but it helps characterize Christopher and show how his brain works. Many people
may say that the picture takes away from the order of the book, but it adds detail to the book
instead. Another time Christopher uses a diagram is when he is in the train station. Christopher
describes his surroundings, But the train station in Swindon wasn t like that. It was a tunnel and

like that in their heads. On the contrary, it is an advantage to have a map of your surroundings

In this work, Marquez focuses on corruption as Senator Onesimo Sanchez accepts pay offs from
his people. As specified by the text, In this story he is clearly a corrupt politician who accepts
bribes and stays in power by helping the local property owners avoid reform (2053).
Accordingly, in the text, Sanchez speaks at a rally and knowingly presents promises that he does
not intend to keep. In the text, it states, We will no longer be foundlings in our own country,
orphans of God in a realm of thirst and bad climate, exiles in our own land. We will be different
people, ladies and gentlemen, we will be a great and happy people, (2056). This quote emphasizes
that Sanchez deceives his people in order to stay in power. Additionally, Sanchez encounters Nelson
Farina, who is an escaped convict that continuously begs him for a false identification card. Thus,
Farina sends his daughter, Laura, to seduce Sanchez into providing him with an ID. However, Laura
is wearing a chastity belt that her father uses to persuade Sanchez into delivering his request.
Ultimately, these ideas relate to the theme of corruption as Sanchez relays and performs deals based
on his own satisfaction.Another theme within the story is loneliness. This theme is prominent in
the work, because Sanchez suffers alone due to his underlying alienation. Sanchez is a husband and
a father, yet he never tells any of them that he has six months and eleven days to live.

Vsevolod Emielevich Meyerhold, considered one of 20th century greatest theatrical innovators,

Meyerhold studied Law at Moscow University for two terms. He became fascinated with the art of

In the straight theatre the director takes the part of the author, and makes the actor see his work
(author and director are one). After incorporating the author s work by way of the director, the
actor comes face to face with the spectator (author and director at the actor s back), and acts freely
while enjoying the give and take of the two main elements of theatre the player and the playgoer.
The director alone must set the tone and style of a performance so that the straight theatre may not
become chaotic, and yet the acting will remain free and unrestrained.
This stylization leads Meyerhold to the arrangement of the stage with flat surfaces , specifically,
to eliminate the scenery and present the actor, as a principal mechanism for theatrical expression.
This marked the beginning of the deconstruction of the stage space. The disarrangement of the
stage under Meyerhold is said to have had its climax in the constructive solution of The
Magnificent Cuckold and The Death of Tarelkin. The stage in these two performances referred to
above is said to have resembled the renaissance box, was made as dynamic as possible and put

According to Theodor Elze (1889) the island in The Tempest is Pantalaria, whose natural sights
correspond with the descriptions in the play, and its nearby town of African coast Calibia, served
as an inspiration to Shakespeare. Another explanation for the name Caliban is kalebon, an Arabic
word for vile dog , common reference for North African creature in England at that period. Dutch
scholar Albert Kluyver, would eliminate the cannibal, as it did not exist in English language with
the same meaning as in Shakespeare`s time, instead he believes it to mean black in gypsy
language. It is very probable that Shakespeare addressed African slaves, since Prospero himself in
the play, observes Caliban as filth , something inhuman. (Vaughan and Vaughan). The relationship
between Prospero and Caliban could be Shakespeare`s way of describing the treatment of African
slaves by European feudalists. This marvellous literature piece is a testimony of slavery and its
roots. Even more, few years after Shakespeare died, the biggest export of African slaves took
place and racism was imprinted in people`s subconscious. Shakespeare describes the horrible
manner African slaves were treated and the aggressiveness by which they responded to that
treatment, since Caliban could be a victim or aggressor, since he tried to rape Miranda. As illiterate

Persuasive Essay On Why Zoos Are Bad For Animals
Zoos are bad for animals. Zoos are all around the world where people like to go to see animals many
people enjoy it, but are zoos really a good place? Zoos are not a healthy natural place for animals
to be kept. They are unhappy and they don t get to experience the natural life they were supposed
to live. Animals have families that the love and know just like humans do we re not put in cages
and separated from our families so why do we do it do animals. Zooare inhumane and ignorant to
animals in many ways they mistreat the animals.
When animals are taken from their natural habitat, they are placed in secluded cages where their
natural habitat is recreated, to the best of the zoo s abilities. However, certain aspects such as
ambient temperature in an animal s natural habitat cannot be recreated perfectly. Animals live
around the world for a reason, not to be taken away . The main reason is that their natural habitat is
associated with a particular climate and ecosystem is reliant upon all of the natural plants and
animals who also share that habitat. Nocturnal animals are those who sleep during the day and
forage during the night. When nocturnal animals are taken from their natural habitat and placed
inside of a zoo, with standard day time operating hours, it can be incredibly difficult for the ... Show

Veganism Persuasive Speech
We have so many problems in our world today, but none of us want to address them because the
solutions are not easy for some people. A problem our world faces today is obesity. Obesity
could easily be cured by becoming a vegan. Another reason I have for the world to go vegan is
the slaughter of animals. None of us would allow our dog or our dog s puppies to be taken away
and then slaughtered, so we shouldn t kill any animals. We shouldn t get to decide which animals
get a happy life or which animals get their throats slit. The last major issue the world is facing
today is global warming. Leonardo DiCaprio found out global warming is real by interviewing
scientists who had found proof of global warming. One of their answers to global warming was
becoming a vegan. The pollution set off from dairy and meatfarms is so immense that producing
them is hurting our world. To stop the obesity of the world, the slaughter of animals, and the
global warming crisis, everyone should go vegan. The percentage of obese people in our world
is insanely high. According to Fox News Health, they say that over one third of our population is
obese, ( 30 ). There are many different ways to fix this problem but the best way for... Show more

I stated a way we can solve obesity. If we care enough about animals, we will stop the
slaughtering and torturing. If we think global warming is an issue, then we need to stop eating
animals and animal products. If we want our legacy to live on and for this world to still be here
for the rest of time, then we need to change our ways. We need people to step up and start
showing the world how we should treat our planet and animals. This isn t an easy transition for
most people, but if we want our planet to be healthy again we need to take this into our own hands.
Becoming vegan is a very good solution to the eating habits of mankind, the killing of innocent
animals, and global

Systems Development Life Cycle and Project
Component of Formal SDLC Process There are many ways to develop an Information system,
which is very complex. The systems development life cycle (SDLC) provides an overall efficient
framework for managing the process of system development. Various organizations use
information systems to support all kind of processes that a business needs to carry out its
functions. There are different kind of information system and each has its own life, and system
developer describe this idea as life cycle of system. During the life of an information system, it is

Us Response To Haiti Earthquake
A few years ago, an earthquake struck Haiti causing complete destruction. Earlier last month, a
hurricane struck Haiti causing another wave of terror. An already hurt country has been knocked
back down. In response to this devastation, the United States is working with the United Nations to
help Haiti recover. Money, supplies, and teams are being sent to bring Haitiback up to its feet.
However, despite these actions, there are arguments as to whether or not the US is helping enough.
Contrary to what some may believe, the US is giving enough aid to Haiti for the recoveryprocess.
Some people believe that the US is not helping enough and that they should send more aid. They
have such beliefs since so many Haitians have not been reached out to yet. Many Haitians do not

NFL with Mild Congnitive Impairment
NFL with MCI
In the article, NFL Football Players May Be More Susceptible to Alzheimer s and Dementia, the
clinical professor Christopher Randolph makes a scientific study to whether or not former
professional football players are prone to head trauma related diseases such as MCI and Alzheimer
s. This study can be proved to be valid, because the author states his theory through clinical studies
comparing different groups of people with and without a former history in a professional sport.
The main idea of this article is to determine whether NFL football players are subjects to have
more head trauma related diseases later on in life such as MCI and Alzheimer s. The purpose of
this experiment is to prove this theory to be true. Christopher Randolph executed this study by
comparing the neuropsychological test results from two groups of without a history in
participating professional sport (1) 41 demographically similar adults with no cognitive changes
and (2) a clinical sample of 81 people diagnosed with MCI (Randolph). After all the testing and
surveys, the results were clear; professional athletes are more likely to have a form of MCI or
Alzheimer s when they get older.
The author of this article exhibited a scientific study by analyzing the likelihood of an American
professional football player being diagnosed with a certain degree of a head trauma compared to the
general population. By accomplishing this experiment the author views his theory to be true,

Strengths And Weaknesses Of Quantitative Essay
Quantitative research involves the usage of statistical techniques for analysis that, test a theory
based on the enquiry of an identified problem. It can mostly be measured in numbers and believes
in generalizing its result, i.e. extrapolating. Its main goal is to determine whether the predictive
generalizations, hold true or not. Quantitative researchalso aims at predicting, explaining and
understanding some phenomena, by focusing on a cause and effect relationship between the
variables involved in the research. It also follows the positivistic paradigm developed in the mid
nineteenth century, which aimed at using the natural sciences as a way of generating knowledge in
the social sciences research.
Experiments, such as true, quasi, field and lab along with correlational studies are some of the
methods that fall under quantitative research. The research in quantitative methods is generally
operationalized and involves ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The precise structures and objective nature, in itself, is a cause of the various limitations of this
method of research. These weaknesses are:
1)Applicable only to quantifiable phenomena
Since all the research is objective and structured in nature, it can only be done on concepts that can
be given a quantitative value. For example: if we consider the aspect of love, we cannot find a way
to describe the amount of love in numbers or statistics. Thus, quantitative research methods are not
relevant beyond the lines of quantifiable phenomena.
2)Difficulty in studying processes or dynamic phenomena
In this research methodology, we are only limited to analysis on the basis of numeric coding and
thus, entities like processes, for example: going through a developmental phase of life, cannot be
accounted for. Such processes have relevance beyond the reach of numbers and cannot be explained
by the same.
3)Problem in controlling

to be white trash . When the lady that she refer to as such tried to be part of conversation she

Training staff to disarm and shoot would be crucial to lessening death tolls from school rampages.
Arming teachers would also scare away or prevent people from wanting to shoot up schools.
People are less likely to go to a pro gun zone, instead they would go to gun free zone. For
instance, Of the 54 incidents that fit these criteria, the shooter chose locations where guns were
banned 37 times (69 percent). Alternatively, the shooting occurred where guns were legally
allowed only 17 times (31 percent). Over 50% of the time, the shooter went to a gun free zone.
This means that a shooter rather go somewhere where he/she is less likely to come in contact
with someone who has a gun. Another reason is this, At the year s midpoint, 323 people have
died [from] [Chicago s] violence [This rate is ]one more homicide than [the previous year]. With
the bulk of the summer still ahead, the city is on course at that pace to top 700 homicides for a
second consecutive year, a mark that had otherwise not been reached in two decades. It is harder
to get guns in Chicago and yet there are so many gun deaths every year. This means that a huge
area with a goal at being gun free doesn t work. Chicago has one of the greatest amounts of guns
deaths in the U.S. even though it is supposed to be a gun free zone. By having trained teachers that
know how to use a gun, Parents feel safer.

Hammurabi Family Law Dbq Essay
Hammurabi was the king of Babylonia around 4000 years ago. Hammurabi had a code of laws
with 282 laws. He had 3 different types of laws, family laws, property laws, and personal injury
laws. These laws might seem just, but they are unjust. Family laws are laws related to family
life. Family law 129 states, If a married lady is caught adultery with another man, they shall bind
them and cast them into the water, (document c). Family law 195 claims that If a son has struck
his father, his hands shall be cut off, (document c). Some might claim that these laws are just but
actually, they are unjust because they are too harsh. For example law 129 is unfair because what
if the man is single and it s not his fault that the girl is caught adultery with him, and then the man
has to die along with the women for something that was the women s fault. Law 195 is unjust
because what if the father did something really bad to his son, and that s why the son struck his
father, it would be unfair to cut off the son s hands.... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Property law 21 declares that If a man has broken through the wall to rob a house, they shall put
him to death and pierce him, or hang him in the hole in the wall which he has made, (document

flooded his field or carried away the crop,... in that year he does not have to pay his creditor,
(document d). People often assume that these laws are just but they are unjust. Law 21 is unjust
because killing someone for stealing something small is too harsh. Maybe for a punishment for
stealing a small item, you could put them somewhere in jail. If the item was something valuable
than that person should be killed. Law 48 is unjust because if a storm kills the crops of the person
who borrowed the money he does not have to pay back the money to the creditor. This is unfair to
the creditor because the creditor loses

The Christian Old Testament Of The Bible Today
In the beginning, God created the Heauen, and the Earth. And the earth was without forme, and
voyd, and darknesse was vpon the face of the deepe: and the spirit of God mooued vpon the face
of the waters. And God said, Let there be light, and there was light. (Genesis 1 3) So begins the
first book of the Christian Old Testament, the Hebrew Torah, one of the most recognizable texts in
history. At least, the text begins the King James Biblein 1611, itself arguably the most influential
version or translation of the Bible today. But this is not the original text. Surprisingly, the
original scripture was not written in Early Modern English in the 17th century in the British
Isles, but in Hebrew and possibly Aramaic, while the New Testament was written in Koine
Greek. In fact, the original Hebrew looked nothing like our Latin script of today. Hebrew is a
Semitic language, and therefore an Afroasiatic one, while English is Indo European, and you
would be hard pressed to find someone who believes that the two fall into a larger, connected
language family besides some Indian nationalists who believe that all languages are derived from
Sanskrit, or Tamil. And although there is much borrowing and exchanging of roots and words,
modern English speakers have no mutual intelligibility with Hebrew. As Ralph Waldo Emerson
famously said in his Letters and Social Aims, Language is a city to the building of which every
human has brought a stone. It s a nice concept, and it would be hard

Thermo-Chemical Storage Systems Essay
Thermochemical heat storage can be physical (sorptive) or chemical based on the material used.
The storage system which does not involve the production of new compound is called sorptive
storage while those which involve formation of new compound are called chemical storage. The
successful thermochemical storage system is sorptive storage system that works on utilizing the heat
of reaction enthalpy. Thermochemical storage has considerable benefits when compared to sensible
and the latent heat thermal energystorage systems since it is easily controllable which prevents the
heat loss. The features of sorptive heat storage technology enables the implementation on a large

The features like increased storage capacity, decreased heat loss to the environment and flexibility
of heat storage over a wide range of temperatures makes the thermochemical storage system superior
to other storage systems.
The sorptive technology involves the absorption or adsorption of molecules through a reaction
thereby storing heat. This kind of sorption system results in the formation of physical bond
between the reaction pair, adsorbent (A) and adsorptive (B), which has a preferably high energy
turnover. The preferred reaction is mostly reversible in order to perform many charge and
discharge cycles.
A + B ↔ AB + heat (see Figure 2) Figure 2: Schematic diagram of sorptive thermal energy storage
technology
When charging the compound, heat is applied to substance AB which dissociate into separate A
and B molecule/compound. The storage is facilitated by using certain inhibitors that control the
reverse reaction. To release heat, the A and B components are reacted by removal of inhibitors,
ultimately favoring the reaction, resulting in the formation of compound AB and releasing heat.
During this cyclic process, when the reaction between A and B is prevented, the heat which can
be stored due to chemical energy cannot be released. The adsorbent such as zeolite (see Figure 3)
react with water thereby act as a sorptive storage material where adsorption of water

  • 2. Research Paper On Exotic Animals Have you ever wonder how dangerous an exotic pet can be? Exotic pets have been said to be very dangerous to human kind and can spread many diseases. Exotic pets should be banned from society because they are unpredictable and they are expensive. To begin with, exotic animals should be banned from society because they are unpredictable. People tend to not want exotic animals due to their natural and wild instincts. One may never be able to predict a wild animal s next move because a wild animal is never one hundred percent predictable (Lewis 41 42). This implies that these dangerous petscan make any wrong move at any time because these animal have not been domesticated. Also, one may keep them in a cage due to exotic animals can injure... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Many death from exotic animals are rare because in reality one may contract E.Coli virus from eating spinach than die from being attacked by an exotic animal (Rexano 1). This shows that one is more likely to get an infection from food than to get attacked by a wild animal because there are lower rates of death from exotic animals than from food. Also, owning an exotic animal may rise one s popularity because no one will deny that owning an exotic pet is daring and different (Lewis 22 23). This implies that owning an exotic pet can make a person stand out from society which mean their reputation in society would rise . However, there are still people dying from owning exotic animals and even though it makes a person unique, they are still dangerous. These animals are not used to the environment that humans live in and they have their own habitat that are designed for them. In a nutshell, exotic animals are a poison to society due to the expense we have to waste on them and their changeable habits. Keep in mind that the next time one might buy an exotic pet, they must be cautious of how these pets may affect a person s ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 3. Superior Manufactoring Superior Anufacturing Question 1 Answer Based off of the 2004 statement of profit and loss data, I do agree with Water s decision in keeping product 103. The total sunk costs for the company could be more substantial in a shorter time than having years of low profits from the sales of product 103. Overall the company would lose $4,933,000 by eliminating product 103. Recovering the indirect costs of dropping the product line would also be unclear as well. An incremental analysis would be the best approach in determining whether keeping product 103 is beneficial or not. Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... The cost system in place at Superior Manufacturing did not allow them to see enough of the indirect costs associated with each product. The inability to determine actual costs incurred by each product line inhibits Superior Manufacturing from reporting accurate information. A main example of this is displayed with the indirect expenses associated with each product building. The reports that the management used in the cost system referenced their standard costs, which were based on the previous year prices. If any of the direct costs were actually lower than the standards listed it resulted in higher revenues. A few suggestions that I would recommend to Waters regarding the cost accounting system and reports would to also look at more of the actual sales and expenses in reports. The cost system that is being utilized focuses mainly on past results. In addition to the reporting suggestions, I would also suggest to Superior Manufacturing to look at the amount of resources used indirectly. If the company can reduce the amount of wasted warehouse space and continue to produce all three products, then they would be able to reduce more indirect expenses and increase their profitability. Another area of concern would be that they are basing their prices to coincide with Samra. There are also many other competitors making similar products as Superior Manufacturing. The ... • 5. A Interview On A Pathological Liar Essay On November 16, 1967 Kristen Heather Strickland was born in Massachusetts. Her mother was a substitute teacher and her father was an electronics engineer. Growing up in Fall River, where Lizzie Borden who is believed to have killed her parents was born, Kristen would often tell people that she and Lizzie were related. She seemed to find great excitement with the possibility (Phelps, 2014). She grew into an attractive teenage girl who seemed to be sophisticated and the envy of others. The first issue was noted when she was older by her schoolmates. Kristen was turning into a pathological liar. One of her friends stated she showed up to school wearing a shirt that another friend had reported missing. She adamantly denied that it was the same shirt (Montaldo, 2015). A pathological liar is defined as someone who tells small lies without a reason on an ongoing basis that usually occurs for years, and even a lifetime (Dike, 2008). We all have our own developmental pathway, starting early in life, which is made up of risk factors and experiences that makes us who we are. Risk factors which can lead to criminal behavior include alcohol or drug abuse, poverty, failing school, physical and emotional abuse, parental styles, peer rejection, inadequate preschool experiences, siblings, parental psychopathology, inadequate after school care, association with antisocial peers, minimal parental monitoring, lack of attachment, and lack of empathy (Bartol Bartol, 2014). ... • 7. Leadership Styles Of The Workplace Work environments, at some point, are hectic, stressful, constantly changing and multifaceted. Leadership is the ability to influence others in order to attain goals (Lamberton Minor, 2014). Leaders in the workplace must take responsibility to ensure they do the right things. Leaders typically possess characteristics such as enthusiasm, dominance, emotional stability, self assurance, and conscientiousness. They have a strong sense of ethics and work hard in order to build integrity in their workplace (U.S. Small Business Administration [SBA], n.d.). Although leaders have some of the same characteristics in common, they interact differently with others. It helps to know that leaders use different methods of interacting with those they lead. These styles include autocratic, consultative, participative, and free reign. The purpose of this paper is to compare and contrast these leadershipstyles, discuss which style most resembles my leadership style, and how this style relates to my profession as a nurse. Leadership Styles The first leadership style is autocratic. Autocratic leaders are the ones in charge. This leadership style is one of power and authority. Group situations or settings do not work well, as the autocratic leader feels other opinions do not matter. Others in the workplace do not have a say in what happens and have little or no freedom to agree or disagree (Lamberton Minor, 2014). • 9. A Christmas Memory Short Story Let us be grateful to people who make us happy, they are the charming gardeners who make our souls blossom, Marcel Proust said. This quote suggests how being grateful for the people that you feel close to, will make you feel happier. A Christmas Memory by Truman Capote takes place during the Great Depression in a small Southern town. A seven year old boy named Buddy, and his friend are hit by the Great Depression. They do not have very many possessions, only basic necessities. The holidays are right around the corner so Buddy and his friend decide to make fruit cakes for all of their friends, even though they do not have much. They end up not having much money to get each other something for Christmas. In the end, they both decide that having each other is enough, and that they re both very grateful for one other. One lesson that is taught in the story, is that often, people tend to only be grateful for materialistic things. However, in this story they re grateful for one another. Similarly, in the short storyThe Gift of the Magi by O. Henry expresses the same theme of gratefulness through the development of the character traits and character conflicts. Both stories show that being grateful for the people that you feel close to, will make you feel happier. From the very beginning in both stories by Capote and Henry, gratefulness has been shown through description of both characters, Buddy and Della. Buddy is grateful that him and his distant cousin have become best friends. We are cousins, very distant ones, and we have lived together well, as long as I can remember. Other people inhabit the house, relatives; and though they have power over us, and frequently make us cry, we are not, on the whole, too much aware of them. We are each other s best friend. She calls me Buddy, in memory of a boy who was formerly her best friend (Capote). This line illustrates that Buddy s distant cousin has taken care of him for as long as he can remember. Buddy is grateful that it has brought them close, they re each other s best friends. Another example of gratefulness is shown through Dellas thoughts and feelings. She is grateful for Jim, because she wanted to get him a nice Christmas present. As soon as she saw it, she knew ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Those organisms include: squirrels, raccoons, spiders, black bears, mountain lions, and bobcats. I m going to talk about the relationships between these animals and the things that happen during the mighty oaks life span. Red squirrels are an important part of the ecosystem in which the oak lives. They are important because they eat off the oak trees. That is important because the soil is fertilized from the squirrel poop, which helps the trees. The trees are also not harmed because the acorns that they eat are the fruit of the tree. • 13. Thomas Rid’s Arguement on the Impossibility of Cyber War... In the article, Thomas Rid s main argument other than the contention that cyber war will not happen is that cyber war is completely misplaced if not entirely misunderstood. He argues that the concept of cyber war is not in tandem with the historical definition and understanding of what constitutes war. Rid s definition of war, borrowed from Carl von Clausewitz, is that war must constitute three elements: violence, instrumental and political. (Rid, Cyber War Will Not Take Place, 2012) Therefore, his main argument against the possibility for cyber war is premised on the idea that cyber war can never have or express the above three elements. He further argues that at best, cyber war can achieve some of the above criteria such as violence... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... He then argues that the actions of Anonymous and other such groups cannot be defined as war because neither is violence involved nor does any of them openly accepts political attribution; and their instrumentality is only limited to undermining authority. Secondly, He characterizes cyber attacks as espionage because often times the main goal is to access secured or confidential information. Lastly, he considers cyber attacks to be sabotage because the intended aim of the attack is to disrupt or destroy military or economic installations. (Rid, Cyber War Will Not Take Place, 2012) Ultimately, for Rid, what has ostensibly been considered to be cyber war are basically manifestation of age old activities of espionage, sabotage and subversion. Rid concludes with three points. First, he concludes that low tech cyber activities will have greater impact on global political stability and in certain scenarios can even lead to conventional war. He argues that the power of the internet to power social courses presents the greatest threat to global stability even more than high tech capabilities used in sabotage; this is because mobilizing and sustaining a movement via is now easier and requires less leadership hence social agitations are stronger persists for longer. In the museum, there were many interesting and fascinating art pieces. The SFMoma is a large and spacious museum. The exhibits are large and in each exhibit there is at least one famous art piece. My favorite floor would have been floors 5, 6,and 7 because of all the famous artworks such as Andy Warhol s Triple Elvis and Nine Marilyns in them. The overall appearance of the museum was contemporary. One piece of art that I enjoyed in the SFMoma was the Policeman by Duane Hanson. This art piece was made through 1992 1994. I enjoyed this art piece because this sculpture is very realistic. The viewer could see the veins in the arms and face. You were able to see the the individual hairs on the policeman s arms, neck, and face. On the face, there are patches of red on his cheeks. His mustache had the overgrown look, so there was hair on his lip. His eyes look directly to the viewer. He doesn t have much emotion on his face He has a dispassionate and stern look. The fabric he is wearing had a cotton like texture making it believable. Duane Hanson is known for making sculptures like this one. His style is usually related to pop art or modern ... Social workers are commited to promoting ethical practices, and aborting a healthy fetus based on its gender is unethical and to promote such a practice would not encompass the value of integrity that social workers uphold. I do feel that the idea of a medical professional probing into a patient s personal life and medical records to decide whether the reason for that patients abortionis admissable is an invasion of privacy that could end up being degrading and needs to be rethought and reformed. • 18. Failure Of The Stalemate On The Western Front The main theatre of fighting in World War One was on the Western Front. The Western Front was a stretch of land weaving through France and Belgium from the Swiss Boarder to the North Sea. The belligerents on the Western front consisted of the central powers, Austria Hungary and Germany pitted against the Entente Powers. This involved the British empire, the Russian empire and the French with the addition of the United States from 1917 onwards. The creation of the stalemate on the Western Front is linked to a variety of reasons. These include the failure of the Schlieffen plan, The Battle of the Marne, Plan 17 and the Race to the Sea and the defensiveness of weapons. Failure of the Schlieffen Plan To a large extent the failure of the Schlieffen plan was the most significant reason for the creation of the western front. The Schleiffen Plan was a defensive military strategy to deal with the French and Russian forces , staunch allies, in order to avoid a war on two fronts. Which was not what Germany wanted. This plan created by Von Schleiffen Outlined that troops being sent through Belgium and the Netherlands whilst simultaneously having the bulk of troops travel down to defend the Alsace Lorraine region which Germany had gained in the Franco Prussian war (1970). The racial injustice in South Alabama was at an all time high during this decade. While the public derived various opinions on the boy s innocence or guilt, the Scottsboro Boys Trials presented a blatantly obvious verdict. On March 31st, 1935, a diverse group of desperate people, whites and blacks, were riding on a freight train in search of jobs or work. The incident escalated quickly from there with a fight breaking out and ending with white men being kicked off of the train. As the train approached its next stop, the workers of the station gathered the nine African Americanmen and were arrested for assault. The boys were Charlie Weems, Clarence Norris, Haywood Patterson, Andy Wright, Willie Roberson, Olin Montgomery, Ozie Powell, Eugene Williams, and Roy Wright. Before being charged with assault, two women, Ruby Bates and Victoria Price who were on the train on March 31st, accused the nine men of raping them. (Emerson pg. 3) In this excerpt from The Poet, Emerson is attempting to make a profound statement on the impact poetry plays in every living human being on Earth. He is viewing a poet as the creator of the universe. In doing this he is saying that poetry is something that already exists all around us, it s the job of the poet to capture that and present it through their words. Emerson labels the poet as the man of Beauty, which he believes has a superior calling. The poet is different from the intellectual as he doesn t see any relation between the material world, and the world of thoughts and ideas. Emerson establishes his belief that there is a relationship between the ideal , which is something that we aspire to be, and the real which is one of the central issues in the discussion. The experiment lasted over a year and was evaluated by the Police Foundation, established by the Ford Foundation, which also provided funding and technical assistance for the education of police. The Kansas City Preventative Patrol Experiment in policing ranked among the few major social experiments ever to be completed and still used today in American policing. (Kelling, G. L., Pate, T., Dieckman, D., Brown, C. E., 1974) The design of the Kanas City Preventative Patrol Experiment was to test the assumption that marked police units patrolling the streets can prevent individuals from committing crimes. Areas of the city were assigned either no routine patrols the proper level of patrols and substantially increased patrols. The concept of preventive patrol postulated the self evident truth that the mere presence of the police or reasonable potential for their presence would deter criminals from committing offenses in the immediate geographic area of the patrol (Deployment by analysis, 2000). Immediately following this description was a map of the train station. Christopher s autism is what causes him to visualize the map in his head. Lots of people would think it is imbecilic to create a map like that in their heads. On the contrary, it is an advantage to have a map of your surroundings because it may help in a time of terror. People who are unable to create a map in their head are at a disadvantage, so they have the real disorder. Pictures and diagrams are a good; they keep order in a world where life is in constant ... Censorship continued to haunt him though, with many works were turned into a feather duster of what they should have been originally, much too his own dismay. Nevertheless, Serling stood by his works, having used them to inspire others during his time to hopefully spread more broadminded beliefs. As specified by the text, In this story he is clearly a corrupt politician who accepts bribes and stays in power by helping the local property owners avoid reform (2053). Accordingly, in the text, Sanchez speaks at a rally and knowingly presents promises that he does not intend to keep. In the text, it states, We will no longer be foundlings in our own country, orphans of God in a realm of thirst and bad climate, exiles in our own land. We will be different people, ladies and gentlemen, we will be a great and happy people, (2056). This quote emphasizes that Sanchez deceives his people in order to stay in power. Additionally, Sanchez encounters Nelson Farina, who is an escaped convict that continuously begs him for a false identification card. Thus, Farina sends his daughter, Laura, to seduce Sanchez into providing him with an ID. However, Laura is wearing a chastity belt that her father uses to persuade Sanchez into delivering his request. Ultimately, these ideas relate to the theme of corruption as Sanchez relays and performs deals based on his own satisfaction.Another theme within the story is loneliness. This theme is prominent in the work, because Sanchez suffers alone due to his underlying alienation. Raised in a neglectful home, and shadowed by her mother s reputation, Elizabeth did not have the royal treatment that her siblings received. From her birth, she was a disappointment, as a child she was intelligent, yet unnoticed, and the road to her 1558 1603 reign was troubled. Elizabeth was born on September 7, 1533. It turned out Mary was not pregnant, and she became very ill. On November 17, 1558 she died. On January 15, 1559 Elizabeth became queen at the age of twenty five. A light snow fell on the packed London streets as the new queen was celebrated. The queen repeatedly told her people ?I thank you with all my heart.? After the coronation ceremony, Elizabeth sat down to a lavish ten hour banquet. Many challenged the queen?s right to absolute power. John Knox stated ?Women are unsuited to rule.? Elizabeth made it abundantly clear she would not stand for disobedience. During her reign, Elizabeth enjoyed charming men into agreeing with her views. To insure that her statesmen and courtiers did not take their positions for granted, she alternated between outburst of royal displeasure and displays of humor and warmth. In the straight theatre the director takes the part of the author, and makes the actor see his work (author and director are one). After incorporating the author s work by way of the director, the actor comes face to face with the spectator (author and director at the actor s back), and acts freely while enjoying the give and take of the two main elements of theatre the player and the playgoer. The director alone must set the tone and style of a performance so that the straight theatre may not become chaotic, and yet the acting will remain free and unrestrained. This stylization leads Meyerhold to the arrangement of the stage with flat surfaces , specifically, to eliminate the scenery and present the actor, as a principal mechanism for theatrical expression. This marked the beginning of the deconstruction of the stage space. The disarrangement of the stage under Meyerhold is said to have had its climax in the constructive solution of The Magnificent Cuckold and The Death of Tarelkin. The stage in these two performances referred to above is said to have resembled the renaissance box, was made as dynamic as possible and put completely to the benefit of the performance itself by being stripped to a maximum extent; allowing only enough elements to enable the actor convey his ... According to Theodor Elze (1889) the island in The Tempest is Pantalaria, whose natural sights correspond with the descriptions in the play, and its nearby town of African coast Calibia, served as an inspiration to Shakespeare. Another explanation for the name Caliban is kalebon, an Arabic word for vile dog , common reference for North African creature in England at that period. Dutch scholar Albert Kluyver, would eliminate the cannibal, as it did not exist in English language with the same meaning as in Shakespeare`s time, instead he believes it to mean black in gypsy language. It is very probable that Shakespeare addressed African slaves, since Prospero himself in the play, observes Caliban as filth , something inhuman. (Vaughan and Vaughan). The relationship between Prospero and Caliban could be Shakespeare`s way of describing the treatment of African slaves by European feudalists. This marvellous literature piece is a testimony of slavery and its roots. Even more, few years after Shakespeare died, the biggest export of African slaves took place and racism was imprinted in people`s subconscious. Waimea is known for many things there on the island, the amazing shrimp and food trucks, the enormous waves, very very ideal and perfect place to surf, and importantly that day, the cliff jump. This Cliff was well over 50 feet, had three different levels in case you couldn t, or rather wouldn t jump from the top, and had water... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... I knew exactly what he was doing, he thought I was going to chicken out and not go through with it, which meant he didn t either, and I was not letting that happen. So when we got to the top of the rock, he asked me, So Gabriella, you ready to go back now or what?? and I replied, No but feel free to return back to the bottom back to where mami and baby are if you want, because I m jumping , and with that, I accomplished my goal and did what I was so terrified to always do. I went to the edge of the highest level and jumped straight to the ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 55. The Christian Old Testament Of The Bible Today In the beginning, God created the Heauen, and the Earth. And the earth was without forme, and voyd, and darknesse was vpon the face of the deepe: and the spirit of God mooued vpon the face of the waters. And God said, Let there be light, and there was light. (Genesis 1 3) So begins the first book of the Christian Old Testament, the Hebrew Torah, one of the most recognizable texts in history. At least, the text begins the King James Biblein 1611, itself arguably the most influential version or translation of the Bible today. But this is not the original text. Surprisingly, the original scripture was not written in Early Modern English in the 17th century in the British Isles, but in Hebrew and possibly Aramaic, while the New Testament was written in Koine Greek. In fact, the original Hebrew looked nothing like our Latin script of today. Hebrew is a Semitic language, and therefore an Afroasiatic one, while English is Indo European, and you would be hard pressed to find someone who believes that the two fall into a larger, connected language family besides some Indian nationalists who believe that all languages are derived from Sanskrit, or Tamil. And although there is much borrowing and exchanging of roots and words, modern English speakers have no mutual intelligibility with Hebrew. As Ralph Waldo Emerson famously said in his Letters and Social Aims, Language is a city to the building of which every human has brought a stone. It s a nice concept, and it would be hard ... • 56. Thermo-Chemical Storage Systems Essay Thermochemical heat storage can be physical (sorptive) or chemical based on the material used. The storage system which does not involve the production of new compound is called sorptive storage while those which involve formation of new compound are called chemical storage. The successful thermochemical storage system is sorptive storage system that works on utilizing the heat of reaction enthalpy. Thermochemical storage has considerable benefits when compared to sensible and the latent heat thermal energystorage systems since it is easily controllable which prevents the heat loss. The features of sorptive heat storage technology enables the implementation on a large scale. Firstly, charging process of the thermochemical storage method... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... The features like increased storage capacity, decreased heat loss to the environment and flexibility of heat storage over a wide range of temperatures makes the thermochemical storage system superior to other storage systems. The sorptive technology involves the absorption or adsorption of molecules through a reaction thereby storing heat. This kind of sorption system results in the formation of physical bond between the reaction pair, adsorbent (A) and adsorptive (B), which has a preferably high energy turnover. The preferred reaction is mostly reversible in order to perform many charge and discharge cycles. A + B ↔ AB + heat (see Figure 2) Figure 2: Schematic diagram of sorptive thermal energy storage technology When charging the compound, heat is applied to substance AB which dissociate into separate A and B molecule/compound. The storage is facilitated by using certain inhibitors that control the reverse reaction. To release heat, the A and B components are reacted by removal of inhibitors, ultimately favoring the reaction, resulting in the formation of compound AB and releasing heat. During this cyclic process, when the reaction between A and B is prevented, the heat which can be stored due to chemical energy cannot be released. The adsorbent such as zeolite (see Figure 3) react with water thereby act as a sorptive storage material where adsorption of water ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
